    You will not get the service you pay for. I have cameras on my property and they do not service the entire yard. They service 1/4 at best and don't even enter the backyard most times. On my last service they said they spread granulated pot ash with a spreader. Cameras show that is a lie. They are thieves.

    This is the worst company out there, they do not do what they advertise. I have been with this company for 3 years and this year they must have changed all the personnel that worked there the past two years. I have never seen my lawn so bad, weeds and dead grass is everywhere....called to complain about my service or lack of it and all I got from the manager was, "Too bad" and "You can cancel if you like." What a great way to treat your customers. Will never use them again and will make sure to tell everyone I know....seems to me all they want is your money. The tech came to my house and drove by without doing his job. He said I had dogs in my yard which is funny cause I don't have pets.

    After just a few months of treatment they ruined my lawn. Horticulture customer care and yes I paid the year in full. Big mistake!! No my lawn was not weeds and has always been treated. Prompted by a nice salesperson I thought I would try them and huge and costly mistake on my part. Beware.

    TruGreen sales department was clearly very aggressive, but that was the only thing they were clear about. We could not get an accurate breakdown of the cost of services in their packages. We have mud, NOT GRASS in our backyard, and we hired them to replace the mud with grass. It turns out, they billed us for expensive weed treatment...on our MUD. Laying seed and growing grass will now apparently cost extra. We discovered this when they told us a technician visited the property while we were gone, but no one can confirm they sent one, and even if they had the technician would be treating non-existing weeds. They told us a manager will call us sometime next week to discuss a "resolution". UTLIMATELY, I HAD TO REPORT FRAUD ON MY CREDIT CARD to resolve the issue.

    TruGreen came to my house around 1:30pm when I heard the truck. I looked at him from my window. He sat in his vehicle for about 3 min then came out, walked to the back of my yard, then walked back and left a card on my door. I thought he forgot something in his vehicle when I saw him going back towards his vehicle, instead he left. Guess he treated my lawn with his mind? I’m so angry with this scammy company who portrays themselves as professionals. I am hoping to get back my money!

    I was forced to use this company when my old company decided to merge. TruGreen is horrible, they did not service my lawn as expected and told me the spray was enough, what a joke. The tech sat in his truck 30 min before doing anything and then wrote on the invoice he spent 30 min on my lawn... Very disappointed, please choose a company that is within your area. Choose a small business that actually cares. TruGreen does not.

    Their guarantee is they "will gladly visit your property as often as needed between scheduled visits...to ensure your satisfaction." Well, they don't. My lawn looks worse than before they started their service. I called 6 times and received promises each time that someone would come and spray for weeds. Six times they cancelled. When you call, they promise it will be fixed but after 6 times, I cancelled the contract. Customer Service makes promises but if the branch does not follow through, their guarantee is useless. Try someone else.

    Hello: I prepaid Tru Green over $2000.00 for their services of fertilization, weed killer and grub killer. They said they had spread fertilizer and grub control, they left sign on door that said they put up flags, none were ever placed. I have a 1/2 acre lot and the time stamp said they were here 15 minutes. I got up early and waited and heard no equipment and they did not knock on my door to say they were there, they were supposed to Text me and e-mail me and it was never done. Neighbor said they just sat in truck and put the sign on the door.

    After 15 days not one weed had even wilted. I saw no sign of any chemicals on my lawn. They said they would come back but never did. The tree service was worse. I have 14 trees and over 30 bushes. They did not contact me even though I called a few days before to tell them to text me and e-mail me with time that they will be here and also told them to ring the bell and knock on the door. There was a sign that said they were there, they stayed 12 minutes, my neighbor told me that they did not see them do anything. They left me a handwritten note that said printer broken so no timestamp. Made excuses that he was not licensed to do ornamental or flowering trees. No one ever said that.

    No sign of any chemicals and all leaves and bushes had no moisture on them from spraying. I was outside and neighbor was outside and he said he saw them do nothing. Do not trust them, now I have to try and get all of my Money Back. I filed a fraud case with my Bank to refund my prepaid $$$ 3500.00 I would not trust them ever again.

    Until this year I typically bought my own four step products to fertilize and control weeds on my yard but often have difficulty with crabgrass. I contacted TruGreen and told them of my problem with the weed. My yard looks terrible this year. I contacted TruGreen and told them that the crabgrass was growing all over the yard. They send out a tech to spray the yard and it looks no better. I could not figure out what I was paying them for. The grass is nice and green this year but the the weeds are no less than years past. I ended up firing them and will look for a different service.

    I had 2 properties contracted for weed control with TruGreen. One in Ottawa & the other one in Barrie, Ontario. I cancelled the service one after the other due to the same inadequate service and for arrogant company policy. I contracted Ottawa property for Front yard lawn and Backyard Weed control. They never did the back yard with lame excuse; such as: dog, door was closed and we do not service areas full of stones.. Though, they kept on billing me and insisted on settlement, so, I paid 75% of the contract for Both properties. At the end they recommended a different type of service with extra cost... So, I cancelled.

    Similarly for Barrie property. For 2 consecutive months they did not show up, though account was 75% settled. But they insisted that one application is not paid for yet. Weeds kept on growing and they never showed up. So, I cancelled.

    So I rarely post reviews positive or negative but today is an exception. I would advise to never sign up for TruGreen service. I thought canceling cable service was difficult but they have nothing on TruGreen. Tried canceling my service on 5 different occasions. On the phone a total of approximately 3 hours the last few months. Every time they tell me service has been cancelled and every time I get a voicemail a couple of weeks later saying that I have a service scheduled. Each time I call and they all say there is no record of me calling to cancel. A supervisor is never available. An email of my cancellation can’t be sent. So this time I had had enough and have warned them that I will not call again but if their technician shows up they are not allowed on my property, they will be trespassing and I will call the police. Avoid TruGreen.

    UTTER SCAM. They said they came on my first service with them for a mosquito problem but I couldn't figure out how because our little dog would've gone bananas if he saw someone out in our back yard (and he doesn't miss a bird whizzing by). But I called and they assured me someone came. Fine. Two days later, I'm getting mauled by mosquitos. So I tried to get customer service on the phone. Holy nightmare. Finally I got someone and she said they'd have someone out in 10 days. No one. So I called again. Set the service up for Thursday. So Thursday I put a note on the back gate with giant letter saying TRUGREEN PLEASE CALL WHEN YOU GET HERE (and included my cell). And I put the note over the latch so you couldn't miss it. But I didn't stop there.

    I put our little pooch in the kitchen that faces the backyard. And I sat and waited. A Trugreen technician called and said he was here and was about to service the yard and I told him I was here but didn't see him. The phone hung up. And I called him back several times - straight to VM. I'm so ticked they wasted hours and hours of me waiting and calling, etc. Please heed my advice and use someone else. Anyone else.

    Please, please, please do not waste your time and/or money on doing business with TruGreen. You are guaranteed to be at least disappointed if not completely dissatisfied. When I hired TruGreen there were some weeds in my lawn and I wanted them to completely maintain my yard with fertilizer as well as with pest control. Over the course of about ten months many of the weeds were gone and the grass began to thicken until about three weeks ago after a treatment. At first there were small patches of brown and when I brought it to their attention the first tech said it was due to drought intolerance (after almost a month of rain everyday). The second guy said it was pest infestation. The third guy said that they both were wrong.

    Each time they treated my grass differently and now most of my lawn is dead and weeds are beginning to take over. I wanted to speak to a manager and it took over a week to get a call back from a blocked number and then I'm back in the rotation of waiting. Now I've got to re-sod before I put the house on the market which means more out of pocket. The last tech said "it looks like you got a hot load". Which means that it was completely their fault for applying chemicals from a tank that had been sitting in the sun all day and it destroyed my lawn. STAY AWAY FROM TRUGREEN!!!! If it were possible my true rating would be -5!!!

    My lawn was in much better shape before TruGreen started its treatment. I don't know what they apply to the grass? Whatever it is it's not working. Maybe they just don't apply the right amount? I have almost one acre of land, it takes the technician no more than 8 minutes to apply their chemicals. I constantly had to call the main office and complain about their service. The technician which comes to perform services has no idea about the lawn service. However, TruGreen will call their technician's lawn specialists. Every time I asked the technician a question, his response was, "I don't know I was told to do that." I stop my services with them and will never render any services from TruGreen. Be careful, TruGreen will renew your service automatically at the end of the year without any communication and will send you a bill.

    Last year we contracted with Tru Green and were given a one year guarantee. Since that fateful day they have missed 3 appointments and not made them up, done an aeration on our lawn and cut the internet, done very little to reseed during the fall as promised, and in the past two months we have seen our weeds completely take over our one year old lawn. I have called several times to complain only to be told that a manager will contact me (still no call back). To add icing on this they are trying to charge my credit card without my authorization. If you are looking for a lawn care service save yourself a lot of headaches and go with someone else because these people are not professional and do not care about people or their lawn.

    Avoid this service! When they sell you the service a Trugreen rep tells you that if you need your yard retreated, you can call in between services and have multiple free reservices... this is not honest. After your treatment they tell you to wait 2 weeks before requesting... then when you request the retreat they schedule a service for you... what they don't tell you is that they are scheduling your next billable service so you will be charged for that retreat. Then when you call them on it, they tell you that you can only request a free reservice if your next service isn't already scheduled. LLLOOOONNNGGGG hold times to actually talk to anybody. Rude Chat reps... all in addition to the fact that I have had the service for a full season with no improvement in grass/weeds.

    Absolutely horrible. I can't even believe this company continues to function. I had to prepay an entire year....and had to wait over a month to just get anyone to follow up with me. I had to cancel and get a refund - and I have waited over a month to get any updates....Sadly I'M STILL without a refund. As far as I'm concerned- TruGreen just stole my money. I'd never recommend them to anyone. The sheer incompetence being demonstrated is astounding. It appears they can't even refund $$ back to a card! They have to "send a paper check"....Sheez....

    I paid over $300.00 for soil treatment services to correct my lawn problem. Trugreen sales REP and services stated what was causing the problem and that they could provide the treatment need to correct it. After three treatments the problem had gotten worst. I am still working with them to resolve the soil problems. I made the mistaken of paying upfront for all seven treatments they recommended.

    If you are searching for a lawn service that would meet your needs and provide you with a peace of mind, based on my experience with trugreen, I highly recommend that you seek another company. If using trugreen is a must for you. Be very cautious on your decision when they address the cause of your lawn problem and their recommendations to correct the issue. Also be aware of what they are offering and the cost.

    I've had Trugreen Trushield and mosquito service for a 2 months now. I bought their 4 month prepaid service. First, I have to call them back on a weekly/bi-weekly basis because the ants and mosquitos keep coming back. Every time they come, it's a different person, if I'm not home, they don't come in the backyard eventing I leave the gate unlocked and cracked open. Ok, I try to be home when they come and each time, walk the new guy through my property and instruct them NOT to spray my flowers because I have slot of beds, burglar and hummingbirds.

    This week, a new guy shows up, same exercise. Walked him through my backyard, which is big, I have a 16,000 sq.ft. lot. This time, I had to do some stuff inside so I didn't watch everything he did. Next day, I noticed all of my flowers wilting, within 3 days, ALL of my flowers were gone... wilted away, some of my plants look like they're not going to make it as well. I had beautiful Periwinkles, Black eyed Susan's, roses, flowing succulents, Daffodils, lily's, masonic, just to name a few, even my 30 year old bougainvillea blooms are dead.

    I'm beyond upset, I called in and was told a manager would come out within 24 hours, nothing, I called back, after the third time calling, a customer service representative called me and naively advised me of lying... Said, "we did 80 homes this week and no one else said we killed their flowers"... That really upset me, then, she said they would send a manager out within a week... Anyway, that's where I am, I decided I needed to water my plants down, but the damage is done.

    I'm going to cancel my service, ask for a refund of the unused services and tell the world about my experience. Not sure what I can do other than never letting these knuckleheads in my yard again. Don't trust them, don't use them! I'll update my review as I go through the rest of this process.

    We hired TruGreen to do Mosquito Defense and Lawn Service, each item two times. Their service is horribly bad. We ask for full refund, but they claimed that completed service cannot be refunded. Following is the evidence of their “completed” service. Mosquito Defense: Our yard is 14,000 sq. ft., and it only took them 9 minutes to finish the whole mosquito defense + TruShield process, is that even possible?

    My wife and I only did one hour gardening work last weekend, and we had many severe mosquito/insect bites everywhere on our arms, back, legs (see pictures below). The situation is so bad that my wife has to go to see the doctors for a prescription. I will post the doctor visit and prescription bills later when available. Their pest control is obviously a complete disaster. Lawn Service. Again, it took them average 13 min to do a “complete” lawn service for our 14000 sq. ft. yard, what a joke! After their over one-month lawn service, the weed is still EVERYWHERE in our yard, see picture below. What a ridiculously unprofessional scam company!

    The worst company ever. Called to have a specific area of my back lot sprayed with a herbicide. My first call to them was put on hold for 20 minutes and they never came back so I hung up. They called the next day and left a voice mail-I never responded. Third call from them I answered and requested a specific service of killing vegetation in my back lot where I had some trees cut down. I live in Gettysburg, PA. They said the cost would be $99 and they charged my credit card. Got a text the next week that they would be out on Tuesday. Text them the same day and then again on Tuesday that I would not be available until after noon. Tuesday got a text that they would be at my house at 7:25AM. Again I text them and then decided to call them too. Got a voicemail that the office opens at 8AM. So how do I tell the technician (York, PA) who is going to show up at 7:25 AM not to come until after noon?

    Oops, forgot to tell you we had a house fire so nobody would be there plus I had an 8AM doctor's appt 14 miles away. After my doctors appt I stopped at the house (again-had a house fire on 5/17/2021) and found they did not spray the requested area but the technician in his ultimate wisdom decided I needed a lawn service which I never requested. So he sprayed my lawn instead. I wasn't even sure what or where he sprayed. Called TruGreen and got North Carolina. Told customer service rep that no one responded to my 2 texts and phone message and technician did not spray the area I requested and he (without authorization) decided to spray my lawn instead. Told them I am not paying for a service I did not request and will dispute the charge with my credit card company. Oh, and I also cancelled my request. Now waiting to hear about my refund. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

    Run. Don’t walk away from this company. They killed my lawn with chemicals over a month ago and have promised to come and fix and here I sit still waiting. Their presidents office actually contacted me to help me get this fixed and they are a waste of time as well. With all the competition out there this company should be ashamed of themselves. I had a nice lawn before they burned the entire thing which they admitted to doing and now I sit and wait for them to fix it which I doubt they will. TruGreen should be ashamed of themselves.

    Service tech either don't show up or stay in their trucks and don't spray your yard! And fill out a service completed form. Have it on video sitting. Doing nothing. I prepared and now try to get a refund. Do not use Trugreen. Buyer beware.

    1st treatment was ok but I had to call them two weeks later as the weeds started to come back...they came back and did a quick treatment... Then came back to apply fertilizer for the next treatment...watered as usual...after a week or so my lawn was still not looking that good considering they fed it...and the weeds were all coming back.

    I called them again and they sent their tech back to retreat the lawn...he did not know that I could see him on my ring recording...he was barely there 2 minutes and barely got all the weeds...I waited a few days to see if maybe he did get the weeds but NO... they are thriving..he might have been using an empty tank to spray the weeds...or feeding them!!

    I called them again and told them that I could see the tech on my Ring device and that he barely sprayed...they rescheduled the treatment for today (June 12th) but no one has shown up...I called to ask the status and they told me it was on schedule...but I never got the track your tech email so they were supposed to update me about the time..

    Still no show or call...so I called them again..now they tell me that they don't have me on the schedule at all...but could fit me in for Thursday..I said NO...my apt is for today and I made arrangements for someone to watch my dog today for this apt...they said they didn't have me on for today. A manager was supposed to call me back...still no call back.

    I called them again...I was told that I have an apt for Wednesday!!! No one told me that they went ahead and scheduled me for Wednesday and never told me or got it approved by me!! I have gates that I have to unlock and a dog to worry about too!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION!! By the way...what I got quoted (lower price) and what I am getting billed (higher price) is not worth this terrible service!

    Steer clear there are many companies out there that can provide equally as bad customer service. After several attempts to get a service technician out to deal with my overpowering weeds after the first application they rescheduled my appointment twice and "tech ran out of product was their excuse". After no return phone calls after repeated request I finally asked for my money back, which they only refunded half of what I prepaid. Do your homework and read all the reviews that they have in Lewis Center Ohio.

    I have been a TruGreen customer for several years, and I have been extremely unhappy with them these past few seasons. Last year I cancelled the Mosquito Defense Service because the chemicals killed vast numbers of bees and beneficial insects in my flower beds and veggie gardens. On 7.2.2021, TruGreen serviced my trees & shrubs with a product called "Mosquito Defense Service," which is what I cancelled last year. I called and the phone rep said they used the same chemicals for all their services. I asked why I was not told this when I cancelled the Mosquito Defense Service in 2020, but I didn't get an answer. Instead, I was told they would no longer use this particular chemical on my property and that she would put a note on my account. This is NOT how companies with integrity operate and, at the conclusion of this season, I will end my relationship with TruGreen. I no longer trust them.

    I am a new customer with TruGreen, two and half months in. So far technicians are coming as scheduled. I have had concerns that were IMMEDIATELY addressed. I am getting happier about the process. After the first couple of services my yard looked HORRIBLE. It is slowly, and I mean slowly looking better but still a lot of what they refer to as 'common weeds' that aren't giving up without a fight. I am going to trust the process for a few more months. Anyway I hope to come back and change that THREE star rating to a FIVE.

    I mowed my green, beautiful lawn twice this year at the beginning of the season. The idea was to have Trugreen come out and spray for weeds and fertilize. After 1 application the lawn turned brown and died. Corporate office advised me to contact the local Myrtle Beach Manager who did come by my house and advised me to continue to water and it would be fine. I watered for 2 weeks at their suggestion then we got rain for 10 days straight. My yard has NEVER looked worse. I’ll have to pay someone to come sod the yard next season. Don’t waste your money with this company. Unless you hate your grass!

    Signed up with Trugeen last year. On the initial call while signing up I stated to the operator several times that I’m not home in the daytime and my gates are locked. Therefore I needed a call or text the day before all scheduled appointments. She assured me I would be contacted each time. Due to COVID last year I was fortunately home on all the appointments. Never once was I contacted in advance. I told the first three or four servicemen about not being contacted and each time they would say they would make a note of it and let management know. On one service I was home with the front door open and my garage door was open. I noticed the service truck outside my house. I put my shoes on to go outside and unlock the gates and found the driver loading everything up and preparing to leave. He had found the gate locked and rather than knock on the door he was just going to do the small front yard and leave.

    Now today, not using Trugreen all this year so far, I found a voicemail on my phone they are coming tomorrow for a scheduled shrub and tree treatment I never ordered. Thought It would be a simple phone call to advise them I hadn’t ordered any service but found after being put on hold it would be approximately a 40 minute wait to speak with a human.     Updated on 06/08/2021: The company keeps sending me emails and phone messages saying they have signed me up for their services (I have secured copies of all these communications) and also their bills and how they'll come next week to service the lawn next week. I never signed up for these or consented in any way. I do not want or care for their services in any way. Clicking "unsubscribe" in their emails didn't work. If they show up, the police will be called and we'll be pressing charges for trespassing and destruction of property. I sent emails clarifying this and filed complaints with BBB and in every possible unbiased site such as Yelp and Google.

    TruGreen representative Nicole ** retaliated by posting my address publicly here intentionally endangering the safety of my family. We will take every possible legal measure to protect ourselves and our children, including force. I ask Consumer Affairs to take down any identifying information before today 06/08/2021 5pm EST or we will hold them liable as well for endangering our safety and lives. Will be reporting this to the Attorney General of NJ and will be updating all the review in the unbiased sites to reflect this low immoral behavior of TruGreen.

    Original Review: Just got an email from TruGreen with my name and address on it saying "Thank you for your purchase and for choosing our service, ..." But I never signed up or consented to service from them. I replied to the email saying "I never signed up or consented to service", left a message with the company, and filed a complaint with BBB. I am worried their technicians will show up anyway to spray my yard with pesticides that I absolutely do not want around my family. If anyone shows up, I will be pressing charges for trespassing. If they spray anything at all, I will press charges for destruction of property, endangerment of my children, and will make sure this ends up on the priority list of the Attorney General of NJ. These scammy companies need to be held to account for their shady practices.

    The operations manager agreed to have a 1-1/2 pallets of sod installed which was done 10 days later and the area looks like it did last June, great. The area supervisor came by last week and sprayed a fungicide so the company is working to satisfy their customer and I appreciate that.

    In June of 2020 I had 500 sq. ft. of sod installed, hired Tru Green in August. In January the sod turned brown, Tech said frost, by April it was 70% dead, Tech said Chinch bugs, In May supervisor said bad soil. Now looks terrible. Weeds on other side of yard intensified during this time and now they say there are weeds they cannot control or kill. I had to point out the problems every time they came because it was ignored in Feb. and March.

    This is by far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with, The customer service is terrible, Expect at least 3 hr. wait times for customer service who will tell you there is nothing they can do about scheduling service. My lawn looks worse than it ever has - You will be better off going with a local service.

    The service is awful. Manager in Colorado Springs unreachable. Service techs untrained and lack lawn care knowledge. Told from National phone number and website that they treat goose grass. Local didn't know what it was and says not they don't different people not knowing my lawn, not one dead weed. Awful, unreachable, and unstructured.

    I contracted out TruGreen for my lawn in Vero Beach. After 1 year the lawn looks worse than it did when I started. After a couple of application my grass started yellowing. I called TruGreen and they blamed it on something else. Every time I would go an vacation there were always weeds on my lawn both front and back. I would call them to complain then they would send a guy out supposedly to spray. The weeds were still there on my next visit. My yearly contract has ended and TruGreen is trying to call me about my account. There will be no-more account. Tru Green has been terminated.

    AVOID TRUGREEN. I have been a TruGreen customer for two (2) years and had nothing but problems with their commutations. Their service representative apparently lied several times, saying he was at the property and "I had told them that I didn't want it serviced" (DIDN'T HAPPEN) and even (last year) indicated that he spoke to me and I had "I cancelled my service" and I was in Florida! As usual, they told many things when I signed up. Once you signup for their service a TRUGREEN representative will be unreachable. When you call their phone service number you will never speak to a live person, only a answering machine. TruGreen's service and customer service simply doesn't work.

    TruGreen personnel simply don't care about a customer once you sign up. Their answering system has a message (every time) that tells you that there is a 2 hour wait to speak to anyone. There is an option to leave a message, but when you leave a message NO PHONE CALL IS EVER RETURNED! (What a joke on the customer!) I have a direct number for the Fairfield account manager (BILL) and left him numerous messages with no response either. I left messages on their phone system, no calls back. They will set up schedules to service your lawn, and never show up (or their service rep will lie and say you told him not to service it!) and then call the next day for another schedule and never show up!

    This happen to me last year four (4) times in a row, and you can't reach anyone to complain! They change the schedule every day! Once again, their customer service number is never reachable. I tried to chat with online agent and that doesn't work either, they tell you that there is a 100 customers in front of you! I would STRONGLY suggest that if you want a good lawn service and you don't want to be screwed around, AVOID TRUGREEN.

    AVOID TRUGREEN. They told many things while signing up. Once you signup, they will never be reachable. They keep on change the schedule every day. And they changed 4 times and made me to wait for 4 days and still I am waiting. Their customer service number is never reachable. I tried to chat with online agent and it is too long wait and says 200 people ahead of me. By seeing so many odds with them, I would suggest you, if you want to save the lawn and your time AVOID TRUGREEN.

    I'd give them a zero stars if I could. Terrible service. I used them for my lawn for a while, but started to see all kinds of weeds. I tried working with them for about a year to try and resolve the issue, calling every time and asking them to come out when there was a problem, but they didn't seem to care. They were not at all proactive about coming up with solutions. I feel like they just showed up, sprayed whatever they had on their truck and sent me a bill. They never diagnosed the problem. Our lawn was almost completely destroyed, even after we spent a small fortune re-sodding at one point. I finally fired them and hired another company, and within a few months, my lawn was weed free.

    We also had a contract with TruGreen for their mosquito spray service at our second home. Twice they were scheduled to come spray and instead, said that our gate was locked so they didn't perform the service. Interesting, since we don't even have a gate. The first time it happened, I thought it was an honest mistake. When it happened a second time, I canceled my contract. I feel like the company is not honest and does not care about their customers.

    I had Trugreen years ago and I had to fire them when I lost half my front lawn to grubs, something that was commonly known of and easily preventable. They did not offer any concessions, compensation and not so much as an apology. CRAPPY CRAPPY...BTW that was in Georgia, now, living on the coast of NC and years later, they raise their old UGLY head once again. This time they keep sending their emails again and again and again, as I told them I am 70 with congestive heart failure but no matter how many times I call or hit their unsubscribe link, I GET NO RESULTS. Plain CRAPPY, CRAPPY, CRAPPY. Why would you use them????

    I recently purchased a home in January, and the previous homeowners had used TruGreen lawn service. The previous homeowners have tried multiple times over the past few MONTHS to cancel TruGreen's service (as they no longer live in the home) and have been met with unclear and inadequate responses. This week, (now March) TruGreen showed up at my house while I was at work and treated my lawn. I have an extremely young puppy who I now can't bring outside in my own backyard.

    I have been trying for two days to get in contact with my local branch but they cannot be bothered to answer the phone or call me back. TruGreen's customer service representatives at headquarters are no help, they spew the same "we are so sorry this is happening to you" line over and over again and then transfer you back to a line where you are told hold time is 2-3 hours and they will call you back (which they don't). TL;DR: This service is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. The company does not care if you ordered the service or not. They will trespass on your property and then refuse to answer phone calls or own up to their mistakes, even if they put people and animals at risk.

    Had this beautiful tree for over 35 years. After Trugreen sprayed my shrubs and trees, this big beautiful tree died!! They never tried to reimburse me, or replace it or anything. They said it was my fault not theirs! What a crock of crap. I cancelled all my services with this crappy company. They are terrible! Don't waste your time and money with them. They will probably delete this review, so it doesn't make any difference anyway.

    My service started out fine - lawn looked good. About 8 months in my front yard was skipped and only back yard was done. Signs were not put in both front and back as requested. Called to complain. Front yard done once. I called to cancel service at the end of my contract and was told I had two more visits left. They came out and my credit card was charged for those two visits! Afraid they'll keep charging me so cancelled my credit card. What a hassle that is! I will never recommend or use again. Right now, after a week of last service, my lawn looks very poor.

    I used this company for 16 years. My lawn constantly had dirt, weeds and moss. Never any grass to speak of. I used to celebrate the weeds because at least I had something green in my yard. Seriously! After about 5 years I stopped complaining to the technicians as they HATED their company and always agreed with me that my lawn was horrible. The regional mngr (who changed almost annually) came out on occasion upon my countless and angry complaints and they would admit they were not proud of the work they had done. It would be impossible to take pride in my lawn as it was truly ugly (I have an irrigation system, I aerate and overseed my lawn annually, I have a regular yard maintenance crew).

    The managers would often promise to take personal responsibility to get my lawn in shape, but as I said, they would get transferred or fired or for whatever reason would move on and I would have to start over. The time came where they just stopped taking calls at my local branch and I would have to complain to a call center which honestly couldn't care less and could do nothing about it anyway. I grew to hate this company. For some reason, I stayed with them year after year but finally 2 years ago I changed to a local spray company which immediately got my lawn in beautiful shape. I have been through two full years (extreme heat, extreme cold, periods of rain, periods of no rain etc.) and my lawn still looks great. The change happened right away after changing services. I am so angry at myself for putting that change off for so long.

    I could elaborate more but I am not sure a reader would believe all the bad experiences I had with TruGreen. So, I will just leave it at this. If you think this company has some sort of magic formula or super technicians who will make your lawn the pride of the neighborhood, seriously, think again. It is not going to happen. The technicians (sprayers) NEVER stay a long time. They hate their job. And read Glass Door with comments from customer service employees who work there. I just did that and saw one employee repeat the general sentiment: "A never ending cycle of constant customer complaints." The complaints are ignored. I highly suggest you try a local company which understands your lawn in your part of the country. It is your hard earned money and you should spend it wisely. Learn from my mistake.

    First of all TruGreen did a good job with the lawn.. Weeds were few and grass was healthy. Tech tended to work too quickly and there were several spots around edges and mailbox that needed work. My problem with them is that they auto renew contract with little to no notification. When they showed up in March 2021 with no notice I was told by tech that he was just given a list of lawns to do and had no knowledge of contracts. When I called the company I was told the auto renew notice was on bills from last year. When I checked it was on the back amongst many rules that most people only read if there is a problem. They could have notified me by mail or email or phone. But they chose to hide this policy and increase the price. Never allow a company to automatically charge your credit card. Lesson learned!!

    I contracted TruGreen for quarterly lawn treatments beginning Jan 2020. I had noticed browning and yellowing of my one year old lawn almost immediately. After the second treatment I called the office and they just sent the driver back to look over the damage. He mentioned that he had observed some fungus on the lawn but did nothing about it and continued with treatment. The final application was October 26th, 2020. A few days later more than 50% of the lawn was dead. The manager was notified and again sent the driver back who could not explain the damage. So after a number of attempts to resolve this without success I hired a lawyer to reach out to them to replace the dead lawn...they simply refused to accept responsibility for their work.

    Even though I have bright orange flags down the property line between my yard and my neighbor's yard, TruGreen service techs still had a hard time determining where to spray the yard treatment on that side of my property. Service is mediocre at best as far as the chemical used, only killing some of my mostly weedy yard and sparse new grass growing...I still had to end up scheduling a local landscape company to aerate and re-seed the entire front yard after my TruGreen service was completed. The best thing to do, is to find a local landscape company (that consists of good 'ol country boys with the right equipment, strength and know-how to do the job) and save your money by NOT calling TruGreen.

    I had Trugreen service this past year—the front yard was better after the year, back never showed promise—still weeds, crawling grass and dog doesn’t help. I was questioning keeping Trugreen or getting another service. I came home Monday and a door hang card was on the door saying the yard was treated. Over the weekend, I had to watch two dog who used the rear yard to do their business and play (tear up). I was very upset to see that service man had treated the rear yard, as I hadn’t had time to clean the yard, as it rain cats and dogs all day Sunday. I found it very confusing how he had treated the yard, not only did it rain all day Sunday but it was freezing Monday.

    I call the company and found it was my fault that I didn’t answer their 800 number Friday saying they were coming Monday—no phone message was left saying they were coming. Also if I no longer wanted the service, I needed to call and cancel service and that it is on the printout of treatment. I advised that I hadn’t read that and most of the time the printout is not left—printer down. They will send a bill for over 60 dollars for this poor treatment of the lawn. The manager also call as I requested a call and she started off the call with do I answer 800 numbers? Or got a email? Again my fault, since I was driving and didn’t want to continue to be upset—told her to send the bill for their poor service and no, I didn’t want them to come back to retreat the rear yard.

    Good initial contact and the first of six lawn treatments seemed to go well. For the remaining treatments they sent a different technician each time and each time the technician treated a different section of lawn. The result was that our lawn ended up looking like a patchwork quilt. I tried to contact a TruGreen manager on several occasions to correct the care but could not get anyone to return calls or emails. Now that the final bill is due (about ten percent of the total cost) their accounts receivable folks call daily. Just looking for contact....

    I was so excited to find a service with a guarantee of not ONE mosquito bite. The salesperson guaranteed that this would work and shared some experiences of other customers and convinced me that it would work in our yard. Although I was skeptical, I figured that it was worth a try. We experienced mosquito bites after every application. We had re-applications, yet still were bitten by mosquitoes. At one point, we were told that a manager would view our yard and that never happened. When I called to cancel, I was told to give it another try.

    Well, finally, I reached somebody who gave a small refund and told me that I would have to contact somebody else to get more of my money returned. She stated that there was a limit to what could be refunded. Although this service came with a money-back guarantee, I certainly did not get all of my money back and do not think that it should take multiple attempts. Don't let your desperation to be rid of mosquitoes convince you to sign up for this totally ineffective and costly service.

    This company has a rating of 1 1/2 stars out of 5. That is higher than I would rate this company. In October I received a call from a manager at TruGreen. They were running a special of $29.95 for the first application. Basically since it was so late in the growing season, the man said he would apply preemergence and then in the spring add other substance to get rid of weeds and make the lawn look green. I recently purchased this house and the lawn hadn't been taken care of well so I agreed for this one application. He said they would call a day before arriving since I had dogs and locked the gate.

    I get this knock on the door saying he was here to treat the lawn--no advanced notice! I let him in and 4 minutes later he was in his truck. THEN I receive a bill for $88.66. Well, I don't know how you would handle this development but I paid the $29.95 as I agreed and called the company saying they deceived me, were wanting more than they offered and I would not pay for anything other than what I agreed to. I am still in dispute with this company so my advice to anyone considering TruGreen--BEWARE. They are not honest, do not do as they say. Please consider a more reputable lawn care service, one that does what they say they will do.

    I was being charged for people to come sit in their trucks. They withhold information. They take out money from your account and leave you with heavy overdraft fees even though you're supposed to be on a pay as you go instead of automatic payment. They charge you more than once. Don't let this company steal your money.

    I asked for pest control in Sept. Was told not til spring. In Nov tunnels all over yard. I was finished with them. They confirmed that also. They knew it. I came home today with lime application I never ordered. I limed lawn already. One hand no idea what the other is doing. Corporate allowed a free pesticide because the man who came to talk to me about their service was wrong about no pesticide needed in Sept. Please I am very upset. I don't want them near my lawn.     I saw some brown spots on my lawn and so decided to start a TruGreen subscription. They convinced me to prepay for a year for a discount. I have seen their trucks several times out and about and so I had no reason to believe it was a scam. Well. Scam it is. The first time they said they were coming and then that they had been and sent me a detailed report of what work they had done. The timing was very precise: 12:37 I think it was. I work from home, in a gated community, with cameras everywhere. We also have three dogs who bark like crazy anytime someone sneezes within 3 miles of us.

    Needless to say, the visit was a complete lie. I checked the back and front gate CCTV camera recordings an hour either side of their supposed "visit". Every entry and exit was a resident. There was no TruGreen truck. This would explain why I hadn't seen anyone pull up outside the house. I called them and they said they would arrange another service date. They were suitably apologetic so I relented and gave them another chance. This time they did show up and treated the lawn. The $60 or so service took about 10 minutes. Anyway, on to month 2 and I have just received yet another fake report of a visit (not sure if I can submit it here). It is the same story. This guy was a no show. However, if I didn't work from home, have cameras and dogs I wouldn't have known. Needless to say the web is full of stories like mine. Avoid this company. They are fraudsters.

    I chose to have TruGreen do my lawn care this year. The first service person came, knocked on the front door, walked around the house, and left without performing any service. He left a report of what he supposedly did in our mailbox. We were home, and he did not know it, so he thought he could get away with doing nothing. Today we were supposed to have a lawn treatment. I was out all day in my yard, tending to plants, waiting for the service person. I needed to speak with him. I waited for him all day. No one came. When I came in the house I found I had received an email stating the person had come and again, what he supposed did. Good grief! Again!! No one came, no services performed! What a shame!

    I signed up for Trugreen hoping to improve my lawn. I paid for a full year upfront including aeration and overseed. I didn't want to renew for the next year. I thought since I paid for a full year upfront, they would ask me before they continued the aeration and overseed again. They showed up in mid August, when it was still 90 degrees outside to do this service, which is way too early for an overseed. I talked with the company reps, I told them the service did nothing for my lawn, and I didn't even want the service, and they refuse to remove the charges. I will never deal with this company again!

    I have been with Tru Green since they started, but until now they have completely lost the entire concept of customer service and accountability. I had to continually call and email for them to return for balance of applications due. Being a prepaid customer I should not have to do this for several years. Over and over I was assured this would be corrected and each year it was not. One month they came to do 3 paid application within one month, that was counterproductive.

    I reached out to customer service and continue to get excuses. I reached out to the local office and they began to not call me back. I tried to get my next application scheduled. I advised customer service that if it's not completed within the next weeks I was going to cancel my service. I was told it would be scheduled for November 4-6. When I submitted another low review my account was cancelled with no notice and no explanation and no refund. Do not use this company. They are terrible and do not value paying customers. If you pay for a service you expect to receive that service.

    Ruined our lawn and some shrubs by poor management. Worst situation is aeration and seeding. Prepaid and they arrayed but didn’t seed. They promised to do a free service for both and they have scheduled at least 5 times with dates, and not shown Up or cancelled them without contacting us for all 5!! I call each time and speak to different representatives around the country who say that they will get it done. Like GROUNDHOG DAY, the same thing happens. They are not able to let me speak to our local office that actually performs the work. They say that they will have a manager call me, but no one does!! Stay away from TruGreen. They are horrible!!!

    After 16 years of caring for my lawn and keeping it beautiful, I had it at the perfect place to turn it over to a company that would continue to keep my lawn Nice. WRONG! Seven months after Tru Green took it over, it looks worse than it ever has. Weeds totally out of control where I now have to kill the lawn and re-sod it. It has never really looked green since they took it over and insect troll that they said they would take care of ended up costing me an extra $360. Terrible decision to go with Tru Green.

    AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, THEY STEAL MONEY AND DO A BAD JOB! On my first monthly bill I was told it would be half off, yet I was charged full price. I should also mention that during my initial call I was informed by the representative that overseeding and aeration were included. On August 17th I received notification that my aeration and overseeding would be performed. Because I hadn't asked for this, I called Nya to discuss. That is when I was told it was not a new or separate charge. In that call I asked when the techs would be here, as most of my grass does not need the overseeding, and there were specific areas I wanted to point out for the seeding. Nya let me know they would notify me before coming.

    It should be noted that I did not receive notification until 4:19 pm the day of service, despite the techs showing up approximately 9 am. This is when I asked Alexie about the billing, and he showed me his manifest, looked up my record and confirmed it was part of my service package. On the customer service side, I was told things that were not true. On the actual service delivery side, the overseeding was done too early in the season, and nothing has germinated in over 2 weeks, despite consistent and frequent watering. Large spots were missed and undertreated, despite me walking the lawn with the techs, and good grass was damaged with the machine.

    As an aside, this is the poorest my lawn has looked in over 5 seasons; including lots of weeds and fungus (mushrooms) all over the lawn. I would have complained about the job and the result anyway, but you can imagine my disappointment when I saw my bank statement and I was short $519, which in these times is not an insignificant amount of money. I don't keep that kind of extra cash on hand for it to go missing which is why I asked 2 separate people at 2 separate times about the disposition of charges.     I never asked for insect and disease control. They charged me for it. I did not ask them for tree and shrub services that they claimed they did and charged me hundreds for; I had to buy several different sprays for insects/spiders for my roses, willow trees, berry shrubs, and cherry tree, so don't know what they did. When this was brought to their attention they said would cancel future services but not refund any prior. Their bills they send they called for payment on two occasions, we gave them credit card information over the phone, they must have not processed then sent to collections, once paid they cancelled the lawn services, but of course kept charging for the shrubs and insect control I did not ask for.

    STAY AWAY from these guys! They don’t care and don’t know what they’re doing. I was sold a plan over the phone from a guy named Bob who told me I’d have a green lawn within weeks. After prepaying almost $600, my yard looks worse than ever. The few times they have have come out, they haven’t completed the work.. And what they did complete is laughable to put it politely. I’ve called twice to speak to a district manager and still no response. The pics uploaded here were JUST taken after the guy said he aerated and overseeded my yard. You believe him? A complete ripoff! Don’t use them!

    TruGreen just doesn't do the job. They don't show up. Then they send you a text telling you your service was completed. You have to be home and maybe they will show up. A total waste of money. Would not use again or recommend.

    Started my service when I moved into our house here in Ohio, grass condition started getting worse I couldn’t figure out why had the tech come back out to check. He couldn’t have been on the property more than 10 minutes. No resolution. Fast forward a couple of weeks the area manager drives by and sends me a text that I have bugs eating the grass. Keep in mind the guy who actually is on my property says nothing but a guy driving by my house can tell what the problem is. Tried to call the area manager back, left 4 messages with not one return call.

    Called customer service as I had a aeration coming up, the customer service rep told me the bugs were good for my lawn and would help with the aeration process (umm no). Called back had someone come out to the property to tell me I had grubs. Had to push back the aeration service to deal with the grubs. This company is such a mess you are responsible for doing all the leg work all the phone calls, figuring out if the information TruGreen gives you is good or bad. If there were any other companies I could go to that were not booked right now I would do so however I am stuck. It’s ridiculous how much work I have had to do investigating the garbage advice I have gotten from this company. They should be paying me.

    I have used TruGreen for years. However, last week they completed an application for weeds. Since they came to my house, the grass has large burn spots. My sod was new and it is now burned and the spots are spreading. TruGreen has made no attempt to send anyone out to even look at the grass. They keep stating its scheduled. However, nothing has happened and my lawn is destroyed in places and getting worse by the day. TruGreen asked for pictures which we sent. The reality is they need to get out here and look at this but based on what other people have said, I’m wondering if that is going to actually happen.

    So this has been my first year of using TruGreen Lawn Care for caring for my lawn. If I showed you pictures of how bad my lawn looks, that alone would steer you away from using them and rightfully so. My horrible experience goes beyond that problem. I would call when I had issues starting to pop up with my lawn. I scheduled a re-application for weed control. I had not seen them much maybe one time since the initial visit and now I am in June at this point. So I was told I was on the schedule. That day would come and no one showed up. Now as many during the present circumstances, I work from home so it is not like I would not know if they have been here. Anyway, so I would call back to find out what happened and they told me I was never scheduled. They said they would schedule me again and gave me a date of over a week later. That day would come and no one. This has happened to me 5 times.

    I would schedule a date after and call before the data to confirm and I am not on schedule or in one case on am on for a week after the initial. I ask to speak to managers and am told they would call me back and they don't call. I ask to talk to supervisors and they say they can't get in touch with them. I have run the course of my frustration. I will NEVER use TruGreen again.

    Commitment to customer satisfaction is a tall tale. They only commit to getting their money. Numerous calls to them to rectify the issue and they never did. I firmly believe they don’t spray but merely put lawn signs and ask for payment. They claimed some weeds are tougher to deal with than others and need a different product. Wouldn’t they know this from the first visit and bring said product on follow ups?

    I asked for someone to come and see my lawn (while I’m here) so as that I can point out the problem and was assured a service call but no appointment was made- I expected a call back for the appointment- but the next day I got home and a sign was there again, no progress with the weed problem. 2 days later a call again for payment. I said I’d pay when I see results. I haven’t seen results at all but I also don’t want to end up in collections. Whoever answers and makes calls is incredibly rude and snippy and always slam the phone when hanging up. I DO NOT recommend this service at all!

    I started my service in Feb, 2020 with TruGreen/TruBrown. After my first couple of application I notice my lawn was getting brown spots in it. I brought it to the service person attention. He took a picture of it. Needless to say my lawn was pretty and green, when my service started. Each time they come it got worse and worse, I requested to have a manager come and look at it well!!! Much to my disappointment and surprise he started to argue with me and telling me his grass was getting brown also. I was in touch with customer service a number of times to no avail - only promises. The end of August a manager call to say there is nothing they will do and refused to take responsibility for it. That's appalling. Something must be done.

    Unfortunately, seems like no one cares in this company, no technician, who never show on a scheduled time, normally it’s about week or two later, no people in a office showing any concern about trees problems, I was calling 2 months about my trees dying from insects, then finally prepaid for the special service (whiteflies drench injection) but still waitIng, more than a month to be done. We are still waiting. Mosquitos service must be once a month, but always 2 to 3 weeks later. No show, no calls, customer service very nice, but nothing changes after complaining. I am at loss. Looks like this company operates in a third world, not in the Great America. Disappointment is an understatement.

    I have been a customer for 12 plus years. I always did their fill service program which I always prepaid. The last two years their service has gone downhill and their prices have continued to go up. This year they managed to kill my front lawn completely. I have been call for two weeks trying to get someone to come out and take a look. No one has returned my calls or came to look at my lawn. I have requested a refund for all services I have not received and have not gotten it yet. I am to the point of taking legal action. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE. VERY VERY POORLY MANAGED!

This season, I complained to corporate, but was dismissed by the local TruGreen Co...saying I just need to be patient. They are not worth the cost...not even close.     We have used TruGreen for several years for chemical treatments on our not for profit housing community. Over the past couple of years, as off site management I noticed that conditions were worsening but we were still paying for service. Last year, during an on-site supervisor’s illness, I became more involved/hands on in operations on the property. I found that TruGreen would bill us for service, but no one could verify their presence on property. I chose not to renew their contract for 2020, but after spending at least a couple of hours with Stacey, their sales rep, I was persuaded to give them another chance.

    When the pandemic started (and before the first application was to be applied), I sent all contractors/vendors instructions on two simple things - a Purchase Order would be required prior to any work beginning (SOP in property management) and the contractors needed to check in with me when they arrived and when they left since our on-site crew wasn’t at full capacity due to the pandemic. They were provided an office number, and email and a cell number to check in and out, and no other action was required. I had to inquire with TruGreen because I hadn’t heard from them and it was about time for the first application. I was told by Stacey they ‘would be coming soon’ so I reminded her she would be issued a PO when I had a date, and reminded them of the written agreement we had concerning checking in.

    About 2-3 weeks later I logged into our account to review prices on something from the previous year, and I see an invoice there for lawn treatment - no PO issued, no phone call, no invoice even sent to me - just an invoice for services. When I inquired, there was no cooperation at all; just an answer of ‘well, we were there and sprayed’. I tried to get answers but there were none. So I cancelled the contract due to their failure to fulfill, and I put in writing that I could not verify the work was done so I couldn’t pay per our HOURS of conversation about the very issue we just faced.

    I appealed to a supervisor and asked if we could discuss it, they refused and just said we owe the money and they will send it to collections if not paid. So I am now dealing with that. Bottom line - there is zero accountability in this company. Do not sign a contract with them. They did not uphold their end of the agreement which I feel was simple and necessary during the pandemic. I report to authority if I want to get paid and I do the job. I feel like TruGreen should be held to the same standard.

    TruGreen promised to improve the health of my yard, bushes and trees. I really went with them as my trees were getting attacked with what my Cousin/arborist from New York call the maple tree borer blight. Bottom line the initial treatments helped the trees, but the grass service was no better, and often worse than the competitor I was with. I had to call to two and three times for reservice for Poa Annua and Dallisgras - they said they put pretreatment down, but why would I have it prevalent, then when it came up in the spring, "Oh it will die with hot weather." Finally on 7/28 the service person, new to the yard, asked if there was an easy way to get in the back yard, and I told him there was a large double gate on the east side.

    Well he treated our yard, broadcasting the fertilizer over 12 feet of concrete pool deck and into the pool and when he left the double gate was left wide open with the spring latch off and on the ground, and the fixed gate with a drop pin pulled trough the dirt crate about a one to 2 inch gouge. Never came to the door to contact us! Glad my wife went out with the dogs, as we have a young Shih Tzu that loves to run and wander. He would have gotten out and been dead. Then the final straw. The tree and shrub service person showed up two weeks after me just getting off the phone with the local service coordinator in Huntsville AL stating that tree and shrub service must call before treating so that my cars can be moved and the dogs put up.

    The service person arrived, did not knock on the door or approach the door for the Ring camera to go off, no cell phone call, and just began to spray away. Two cars in the side driveway getting the chemical overspray on them. Bad stuff. If you ever see cars with the clear coat starting to peel, this is one of the culprits. Then I catch him after he has just entered the back yard and started spraying the bushes. I asked why he did not knock or call. He stated since COVID 19 they no longer announce and no notes are on the service order. I accepted and went in the house.

    Our small Maltese/Schnauzer was out and she got overspray with the poison from his service. This was just before I ran in the back yard realizing TruGreen was treating. Though I did not know this at the time, until I watched my video footage from the cameras around the house. In addition, when he began to spray the bushes on the other side of the pool, he just pulled the poison hose through the pool water. I saw this through the window and approached him. He said he did not do this and so I pointed out the water trail on the concrete deck where he pulled the hose back through the pool and he was reeling it up to prepare to depart. He said he still did not do it.

    Bottom line, is the service from TruGreen is haphazard at best, does not meet the commitments they promise you in the phone sales calls, nor do they document any information in the notes of your records such that the service personnel know the problem areas, the concerns and the precautions they Should take. They are fired. I have all of this with photos and Video download from Ring.

    Signed up for perimeter pest service last year. Never signed up for this year yet they came out and sprayed and sent me a $107 + bill for something I never requested. (I decided not to sign up this year because of my dogs.) I called TruGreen right after they came out 2 a month ago (saw the sign on the property) and told them I didn't sign up for the service this year and was not paying for it. The rep said he would go ahead and cancel the billing. So every week now I get calls from TruGreen for payment.

    Just spoke with "Danny" at TruGreen and told him what was going on and he said their records show the service had been canceled some time ago. So he sends me an email today (at my request) saying all services have been canceled "effective as of today" - WTH? I'm not paying ANY bill from TruGreen since I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR SERVICE THIS YEAR!!!

    I hired TG back in April 2020 and it was my first time hiring a service, BIG mistake...I agreed to pay monthly and it was in writing too. They charged my credit card full price and not monthly like agreed. From April til July they were supposed to apply 4 times and they only came twice. My grass was even worse after they applied whatever they applied. The first time they came they were gone in less than 10 mins and I have a lot of grass area to cover. The kid just went back and forth really fast and leaving lots of areas untouched. The second guy came and he took his time but the odor was so unbearable I had to close windows. He said it's because the stuff was sitting in storage for a while. Too much info sometimes isn't a good thing.

    The third guy came after I called about all the weeds we still have and he said it's because they missed 2 applications out of 4. We had a ton of some type of weed (not sure of type) and the third guy said he doesn't have enough stuff to spray them. What company doesn't carry enough supplies to cover the call. That was the reason he showed up, to apply it. They knew why they were coming. I called to cancel service and the Rep says she'll refund the remainder minus the 2 of 7 applications. I told her no, I want a full refund because nothing was done/killed and I never agreed on a full payment. She said she'll put in my request and I said again, no I want the full refund now because I never approved the charge.

    After telling her I'm filing a complaint with my credit card company they immediately refunded the full price, almost $400. Whatever they applied my lawn is worse and now we have a ton of mushrooms that we never had and tons and tons of weeds. I requested for supervisor to call and never did. Horrible service and will never ever use any company again. I've always done the treatments myself but this year I wanted a break. My grass looked great when I did it but it was a lot of work, it's not just apply and walk away. Gotta make sure you don't over do it or the grass can burn. So point of review, Horrible CS, Horrible Chemicals used and lots of Neg reviews online and a few told to me in person. I'll do my best to post this anywhere and everywhere to avoid others from being ripped off by TruGreen service. SHAME ON YOU TRUGREEN, SHAME....

    Started my service in June 2020. Good results. July 16, 2020 A tech came out to service my lawn and he over sprayed it with weed killer. He killed my good grass and had lime green stripes going across my front yard. I already had a nice lawn, but with my husband working 10 hours a week, so I thought I would give him a break from lawn care. Tru Green killed my St Augustine grass in my back yard, the sides of my house and behind my fence. My back yard look like it had been burned.

    When the tech was fertilizing my yard he was running behind the spreader and I had to bring to his attention that he had missed some areas. After I noticed my grass was dying, it took five phone calls to get a supervisor out here, and I never got a call back, he just showed on Saturday morning without calling. He admitted the yard was over sprayed and that he would back the following Monday to correct it. NEVER showed up. Wednesday I called and was so frustrated, I closed my account but insisted my lawn be repaired but to no avail. Will never use them again nor recommend them. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

    TruGreen Lawn Care has failed to live up to the promise it made to me when I hired this company and paid a year in advance. I was assured a lush/full lawn free of crabgrass in a couple of months. The company has been servicing my lawn for 10 months and my lawn looks a lot worse than when we started. I now have a lot of weeds in my backyard and quite a few bare spots. My front yard (my main concern) have very large bare spots. I am ashamed of the front of my house and I have been calling TruGreen every other month complaining of the lack of progress. I have wasted my money by hiring TruGreen and I wish there was a way to get my money back.

    Canceled their service today after over 3 years of being a loyal customer. Their technicians aren't smart enough to read their service ticket which has the code for the locks on our gates! They say they can't service our lawn and they just leave. This happens 3 or 4 times per year and I shouldn't have to call and deal with it since they have the codes!     2nd year with TruGreen, last year was great. The young lady did a fantastic job of spraying all over the yard. This year we have a different guy who puts down fertilizer with insect granules. I complained that this was not mosquito control as the granules aren't even rated for them on the pesticides own site. Plus on TG own site it describes how the mosquito defense is applied with a spray only! They did it a second time and luckily my cc had expired so I didn't pay the fools by mistake. I finally convinced them they have to use spray and the guy came, sprayed a few pine trees and left. He claimed to use the exact same amount of spray the girl did last year doing the whole property.

    Today was the 4th or 5th time someone has tried to convince me that yes fertilizer and insect granules are part of their mosquito control even though their own website denies that. Then if they don't have enough intelligent people working there they should just close! I keep trying to cancel my account but they just wanna make it right but obviously they can't. I was actually relieved to see other stories here so I know it's just not me they are screwing over. They've refused to credit the two services that they first admitted were done incorrectly saying they'd just use it as the charges for when the service was done correctly which sounds kind of fishy to me. It seems like they are all trying to now say that I did get the right service to try to force me to pay.

    When the lady who was trying to get me to pay went to check on things and called me back, she told me the same old line I was furious, I asked her why didn't anyone call me to tell me that my service application had been changed and I will now be getting fertilizer I don't want and never asked for, she didn't have an answer. So they are trying to convince me I'm wrong and bully me into paying, this is not right, something stinks here I think.

    I had a beautiful lawn and to be honest TruGreen has been doing my lawn for years. Then one day they came and 2 days later my lawn was dead. I called and someone came to take pictures but offered no help. It's been 2 weeks now and despite several calls to them they remain silent. Meantime my lawn has turned into giant patches of weeds and dirt. TruGreen is fine until they kill your lawn and then GOOD-BYE.

    Extremely expensive waste of money. Left horrible dry spots on my lawn and I was a customer for YEARS working with them to try and fix my yard both front and back. I am very patient when it is something I want. I worked with TruGreen through so many excuses and did exactly what was asked of me and my yard looked as bad if not worse than it did before they were hired.

    I made every payment as requested when it was due, and my yard consistently looked worse than any of my neighbors. I requested to speak with a manager, and when he arrived he was nice enough but had no clue how to help fix my issue. I would never recommend this service to anyone who wants a nice looking yard at any price. They do not care about your outcome they care about your payment though.

    If you ever have a problem with this company don't expect a resolution. We had grass planted in a large area in our front yard and the guy came June 24 to treat our lawn and drove his piece of equipment right through the newly planted grass. I called right away on June 25th and asked to speak with a manager and was told a manager would be out to look at the damage within 72 hours. It's been 11 days and I have called them 6 times and I'm still waiting to speak with a manager. This company is a joke.

    In 2019 I paid for a specific number of treatments to my lawn. I paid by check. On February 27, 2020, I found a bill in my mailbox for $57.17. I was not home. I called the next day and told TruGreen I did not order the service. I was given a cancellation number. On July 2, 2020, I got a letter from a Collection Agency for $57.17. I called TruGreen on 7/3/20. I was told that even though I did not request their service, nor did they have my credit card on file, and I had not paid them in advance, their service is recurring every year. When I called today, I was told that if I did not want their service for 2020, I had to call them. When I asked, "What If I had Sold the property prior to 2/27/20," I was told that as homeowner of record, I was responsible. It's a good thing I did not get another lawn service for 2020.

    If i could give a no star review I would. This has been the most unprofessional company I’ve ever worked with. Good luck getting a manager on the phone, or anyone to call you back because I tried two times today and never received a call back. They made me pre-pay for a service in advance, never called me back to schedule the appointment, then rescheduled the appointment without telling me, showed up, spent 10 minutes doing nothing to tell my tenant they have to reschedule because they don’t have time.

    They didn’t fix my sprinklers, they never called me, and when I called to complain (twice) they hung up on me the first time, and the second time they assured me a manager would call which never happened. My sprinklers are still broken, I still don’t have an appointment confirmed, and they still have my money they made me pay in advance. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS. You will regret it if you do!!!! Unfortunately for me they already got paid so there’s no incentive to get the job done.

    We have had Trugreen spraying our yard both the front and backyard for about three years for mosquitoes now. Last summer we got so frustrated with them never showing up that we switch to Orkin. We received excellent service from them! I think we are going to switch back permanently to Orkin. We have a dog that we leave outside so we have to pay someone to sit at our house to let our dog in while the spraying is done & until it dries. Since they will spray until 6 PM we spend quite a bit of money paying someone to do that. Most of the time they don’t ever show up to spray and reschedule for the following week. There is a HUGE lack of communication between the main branch and all the little branches throughout the states! They were supposed to come yesterday. We got multiple text and a voicemail and email saying they would be arriving.

    As the day wore on we got an email that allowed us to track their arrival time and it said between one and 6 PM. They NEVER showed up. I called the 1-800 number and was told we weren’t on the schedule AND because it’s a holiday week they probably won’t be able to work us in until next Tuesday. A WEEK from now (today is Tuesday, June 30)! We are getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. Last summer twice technicians showed up sprayed the two trees in our front yard and then left without ever going into the backyard. They were here less than five minutes. Our dogs were not out in the backyard & we left the gate wide open with a note on the front door stating, "Please spray the backyard also". The note was right where they hung their service completion slip on our door knob.

    We have cameras and we know nobody ever entered the backyard. Customer service is a total joke. If you complain too much and say you’re unhappy they just shut down your account. No refund given. Orkin is much more professional and gives better service. When they treat for mosquitoes they treat with three different products so we had no mosquitoes at all when we switched to them last summer.

    TruGreen laid down the pre-emergent too early in the spring. Then as the ground warmed I had crabgrass everywhere. The manager came out and said it wasn’t crabgrass but then sprayed for it anyway. Then they killed it but then they sprayed again. A week later they put down another round of fertilizer. 6 days later they did it again. I had burn spots, the manager said it was a gas spill. Gas had never been on my yard. They came out two weeks later and hit me again and then hit me again today. Since April 2 they have fertilized my yard 7 times. 4 times in the last month. 3/4 of an acre of beautiful grass one month ago now looks like a drought ridden wasteland.

    The product is quite good, but the company suffers from poor customer relations and resulted in a mid season cancellation. I had an application in late May and waited 10 days without seeing mediation for a portion of the yard. I contacted them and they indicated that will come out and repeat. On the repeat day, the app indicated that the service was completed, but they never came out. When contacted, they reported that potential bad weather and heat prevented the spray and they rescheduled 5 days out. On the next attempt, the tech came out and instead of spraying, checked the account and saw the date 5 days prior and failing to do additional research, figured the property was sprayed 5 days ago and could not do again and left. I called and it took 2 days to get a response and they report that it takes at least 2 days to schedule a visit. I canceled service as communication and superior service support must be a hallmark of the provider.

    I had tried, through the national TruGreen phone numbers, to see why no one had come to service my lawn for 6 weeks. I was finally given a schedule that wasn't cancelled (I had been cancelled six times). The local Topeka manager, Isaac **, came out, fertilized my lawn and sprayed my weeds. He even gave me his personal contact information in case I had future problems. He has a PhD in turf care and was very knowledgeable, using different kinds of weed killer for the specific weeds I had. He also did my third treatment, which included a slow-release fertilizer to keep from burning my grass. If it wasn't for him, I would have cancelled my future sprayings and asked for a refund. He is awesome, personable and a great asset for TruGreen!

    On May 29th of this year I filled out their questionnaire online and assumed I'd get a call right away, which I did. I told her I want someone to come out and look at my yard and give me a quote. She said someone will call me back. I then asked "so you called me to tell me someone will call me?" No response. Anyway, here it is June 15th and still no call. I had back surgery and am unable to treat my yard myself at this time. But, since they didn't bother to call me back I ended up purchasing weed sprays and had my wife do her best. I think she did just fine, certainly a lot more effort from her than I got from TruGreen!!

    After mowing my lawn and early morning (which I never do because we are in high country) so that the application will be made I waited all day and adjust my schedule several times, even waited outside in the heat for the technician who was going to come between 1 o’clock and four today according to their schedule. There is a note in my file to call at the gate because the gate is not been working properly. Elliott never called even though I was looking out the window for 3 1/2 hours because of the heat. I have the driveway in full view my neighbor has a camera, and no vehicle with a true green logo ever came by today. This company is not about customer service they are about their own agenda giving you nine hours notice as if everybody’s schedule wraps around them. They are unreasonably demanding that you fit their schedule and when you do they don’t show up.

    The tree service does have no problem getting in, every single time but the lawn care people are never on time. My lawn has not been treated in over two months even though they promised they’re going to come every six weeks. And we’re in the hottest time right now, and they don’t even have the courtesy to communicate with me after their office sends them a message to call me and let me know what’s going on. Just think you should know before you pay, I highly recommend not pre-paying, because then you’ll probably will get no service at all.

    I have had TRUGREEN for about 2 yrs. When they started, my lawn was in excellent health. Trugreen said they could improve and protect it and make sure it stayed excellent. Now the lawn is stressed and dying in spot and strips all over the lawn. There is no direct number for the local office that does not go to a national phone tree in New Hampshire. They promise a call back in 48 hours. So far after several requests for a local Mgr. to call since last week, not 1 call nor anyone show to talk with me about the lawn. Extremely poor co-ordination and really lousy customer service now that they have damaged my lawn. Most published numbers available locally are not in service. What is so hard for a manager or district manager to show up, return a call or contact me for corrections to be made?

    My bf hired someone from your company to come and cut our grass. Unaware that my bf hired someone to cut our grass. I can see a man throwing branches, small flags that go on the ground. He threw them on the driveway of the house. I went outside to ask him “May I help you”. I didn’t know who he was. He started rambling derogatory sexist things to me. Saying “men aren’t respected”. “Can I go back to being an American”. “All women know how to do is be pretty and sit behind a computer”.

    He also told me he doesn’t need any distractions while cutting the grass. I was very shocked and appalled at the way he spoke to me. I just asked “May I help you”. I work from home I have a young child in the home as well as currently 6 1/2 months pregnant. I was highly offended by his derogatory remarks. He was rude and nasty. If this is how your employees are I will NEVER do business with TruGreen. I will find another company.

    So on 5/28/2020 Tru green serviceman went to neighbors house and sprayed their lawn. Then they left the receipt on the neighbors door, showing they did my service. I called on June 1 and supposedly the Cust rep put notes in computer to have them come out to do my yard, which is what I pay for not the neighbors yard. I called back today and they did not even have it scheduled. This is the worst company to do business with, there is not a manager or supervisor that will be able to help. Unfortunately I prepaid for the year, but this will be the last time I ever use this company. I cannot believe the ineptitude.

    I had a lawn service scheduled for two weeks out set on April 29th for service to be completed on May 14th for a lawn aeration. No one showed up so when I call they tell me, "Oh sorry. The equipment broke. We rescheduled you for the 21st." My brother in law stayed at my house as I was out of town and said no one came. I got home on the 23rd to verify my lawn had not been aerated. I called Trugreen and the customer service rep admits that technicians sometimes get overbooked and hit complete on a job without ever completing it. Per the service rep, he rescheduled the service for the 26th between 9am-12pm. When no one shows I call and get told, "Oh no. He was wrong. He set it for the 28th." I requested a refund and will wait to see how long that takes!!!

    They deserve a zero rating. Or less. I have been on the contract with them for the past 3 years and somehow my grass didn't really improve much if at all. Constant fighting with a supervisor as they are supposed to perform free of charge service calls upon customer satisfaction guarantee. I was never satisfied as my grass looked like the before photos on their website, never like after, I wondered why. They investigated the technician that admitted that first time he didn't know he was supposed to treat the backyard, next visit he forgot to do it, then he was unable to perform the service because it rained and the property was too wet (why coming then if you can't do it). Every time it was a different excuse while they kept charging my credit card on file.

    I went through hell arguing and spent hours on the phone trying to get to the bottom of this. At some point I requested for them to change a technician that comes to my property thinking he's either mentally challenged or simply lazy. Guess what, I traded from bad to worse. I am never home when they come but my neighbor that's retired mentioned to me that when they come they don't even do anything, just sit in a truck for 15 minutes and leave. That would explain why my grass looks awful. Yesterday (5/23/20) I actually was home when they came. I pretend that I was not and watched them from inside. It was raining.

    The guy rung the door bell. I did not respond. Then he started walking around the house and looking inside the house through all the windows (to make sure nobody's home I guess, it made me feel like I had a potential robbery going on). Then he rung the door bell again. Again no response on my end. He went to the truck, took the flags that state the property was treated with the pesticides and placed them in the ground front and back yard. He rung the door bell for the third time. At this point I knew he wasn't going to perform any service. He sat in the truck, waited additional 10 minutes and left.

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Later that day I received an email confirming that the services were performed and thanking me for my business. They are trying to charge me for 2 different services combined on this visit (double the price). This has risen into a different level of scamming people. I immediately canceled the service, I'm disputing the prior charges as services were not performed. Shame on you Trugreen. It's disgusting.

    We signed up with TruGreen to provide us with Lawn Care Treatments so that we could improve the quality of our lawn. Less weeds and more grass. We prepaid for an 8 treatment contract. We have roughly 1.5 acres. The first scheduled visit they showed up and could not treat our lawn because the driver said they did not have enough product because whoever signed us up did not provide them with the accurate size of our property. They thus rescheduled.

    The second time they were to come out they wanted to treat the property in the pouring rain, so we had to reschedule. When they scheduled to return they did not show up at all. No call or email or text. When we called Customer Service we were told that they did not have us scheduled until the following week. So our first official treatment took two weeks to receive. Second treatment was to be done by May 20th.

    On May 19th they show up to do a lime treatment not the second treatment. The worker who did the Lime application only brought 179 lbs of lime which only covers 18 thousand square feet when our yard needs about 600 pounds to cover the 60 thousand square feet of lawn. He was so out of shape that he spent more than an hour's time resting. There was no evidence of Lime dust coming out of the spreader because we most likely guessed didn’t have enough product because the size he was given of our property was again not correct. We called Customer Service about the difference and were told that they did bring enough and the reason why they put down the 179 lbs was because of the original size difference that the person who signed us up made on our lawn size. But he assured us that there was 600 lbs of Lime used.

    We once again called customer service and were told that we weren’t scheduled for another lawn treatment but rather a lime treatment. My husband said he wanted to cancel. The gentleman said he would get someone out to treat our lawn by Thursday May 21st, 2020. We received an email that they would be out between 12-5, we received a cancellation from the App again that they didn’t again enough product. We once again called Customer Service and they said they could not get someone out here for our second lawn treatment until the following week. The Customer Service Rep also stated that they did not have us on the schedule and weren’t showing anything schedule for the 22nd of May either.

    My husband asked to speak to a supervisor so he could cancel our service permanently with TruGreen and they said that he could only do that with a supervisor and one would call him back within 24-48 hours. My husband stated that if it is the 48 hours and Monday being Memorial Day that in reality he wouldn’t hear from someone possibly until Tuesday of the following week. We prepaid TruGreen approximately $1300.00 dollars for treatments for our lawn care treatments on April 21st, 2020. This is the worst company we have ever dealt with and would advise anyone seeking lawn care treatment services to find someone locally in your town to handle these services as TruGreen would receive a zero rating across the board from us!

    This review is about TruGreen Lawn care service. It’s to warn potential customers. Please before you get involved please check reviews on truGreen lawn service. You will find there is many, many, one star out of five stars ratings. There is a reason because I am one on them unsatisfied customer. I signed a pre-paid contract for one year. After eight months my yard is worse than what it was when they first started treating my yard. My yard had some Dallas crab grass very few. After eight months come to find out talking to the service man that they do not treat Dallas crabgrass. So now I have my yard with triple the amount of crabgrass since the first day they started. My yard looks really bad now. I asked them to please help me with my yard. Was told it would be reported to management. After calling again there was no record of complaint. So The reason I hired them was to get rid of all the bad stuff so I could install new grass in some areas.

    Come to find out there is and I saw Grub worms in the dirt. Again asked the service man if they are suppose to treat for Grub worms. He replied yes but that there is going to be Grub worms any way. All yards have grub worms. Well enough is enough. Ask them to cancel my contract and asked for a full refund. Whenever the service man came to treat my yard he would park the truck and sit there for a good while. Then he would come out and treat the front and back yards in about 2 minutes. And as I saw him spray area he would miss a lot of big areas. And be gone.

    We bought our new home in February and were very excited about getting our yard in order for the spring. We live in a humid climate so the mosquitoes were always an immediate concern. I called TruGreen to come look at brown spots in the yard and set up a fertilizer schedule. As a bonus, I was sold on their “amazing mosquito defense tested in the Everglades of Florida.” First week they came out and fertilized, aerated, and then treated for mosquitoes. We were very excited about the prospect of not getting bit while working in the garden! So the very next weekend we attacked the flower beds in the backyard. Typically I’m not much of a mosquito magnet but my wife is apparently a delicacy to them. She was covered in bites... Sensing her frustration and the feeling of being helpless in her misery I promised to call TruGreen first thing on Monday. I mean, they have a guarantee right?

    The customer service agent was very polite and scheduled a FREE second service. Great! A week later the tech finally comes back out but I wasn’t there to greet him. I get the normal email with the steps taken by the tech. Much to my chagrin it said “inspected but no product used.” What? My wife being covered in bites isn’t worthy of a respray? I called again... I was told a date for my next treatment (which was a couple weeks out) and hung up on. At this point I just wanted to cut ties all together. I’ll get a local company to fertilize my yard and buy a digger or something, I thought.

    That day I emailed customer service again. The agent apologized and said they could have the tech back out in 72 hours for FREE service. The appointment is scheduled and I wait for the tech to show. By now the whole ordeal has stretched over almost a month. The window for the tech was locked in between 11 and 4. The scheduled window comes and goes. At 4:15 I call customer service again but this time to cancel. I was reassured by the agent that she had locked in the appointment and to give him some more time then she gave me my next 2 treatments at half price! Ok... I’ll let it slide this time cause they’re doing their best, I thought. He never shows. The next morning I called again. Explained the situation and cancelled all while being offered discounts with a little attitude thrown my way. It was done. I cancelled everything. I choose not to give my money to a company that lays out empty guarantees. I’d rather get bitten by mosquitoes.

    Several weeks ago received a letter from TruGreen regarding the first attempt to collect my debt. I logged in to my TruGreen account online and saw no indication I had any bills past due. My account was up to date. So I disregarded it. Last night I checked my mail box and I saw the letter. It was a second attempt to collect debt. This time I compared billing address, went to the website, etc. and the only bill I had was for the most recent service. I was confused. I looked at the account number on the letter I had received over the mail and noticed it was different than the one I use for my services.

    This time I verified the phone number in the letter was the same on the website and decided to call. Customer service confirmed it was a valid bill and that I had to pay over the phone since the account had been closed. I asked when the service was completed and she said it was last year. I asked, how come it came with a different account number. The CS rep lady answered, "I don't know why a new account was created for those two services last year but you have to pay over the phone". I expressed my dissatisfaction to her immediately and told her that it was not fair to get my credit score hit because of them creating a different account which I was not aware of.

    For me, the only account I had was the one I had registered online. So I demanded to move those charges to my existing account and disregard the "valid collection" letter. She said they were going to check if that was even possible. And even if it was, I had to pay over the phone and not via the website. So I had to call them. It is clear to me they do not have control over the billing addresses. The customer has to adjust to their errors in billing if not his/her credit score will be affected. So their new motto is... my mistake, customer problem. Really?

    I was supposed to be getting a monthly lawn weed killing and grass growth chemical service. Two months in a row, I recorded on my security camera, the TruGreen Service truck pulls in the driveway, the service man gets out of the truck, he looks at my lawn for 10 seconds, gets back in the truck and leaves. He did nothing while weeds take over my lawn. I called the Corporate office and supplied them with the recorded action. I cancelled the service. TruGreen did not even apologize. They continue to want me to continue the service without a guarantee that I will get the service that I would be paying for. Even when they were spraying my yard, the service never helped the condition of my yard. I warned my neighbors about what was happening, and two of them also recorded TruGreen service not treating their lawns. They have also dropped the service. Don’t waste your money with this RIPOFF company.

    I was an employee of this company 20 years ago so I know the standard of service that should be provided. This guy shows up at my door one day selling service so I figured what the heck, might as well get my yard looking optimal. Great salesman btw, friendly and outgoing. He added an additional aeration service to what we agreed on but I was willing to look past that since aerating would only improve results.

    First service was fine, guys came out and sprayed for weeds. Second service was the aeration. Noticed he cranked up and within what seemed like a matter of minutes, was finished. After he left, I went out to inspect and it was obvious, he didn't hit the entire yard. There were minimal plugs and swaths of my yard that were untouched. I attempted to contact customer service via chat through their application, but they were having technical issues and it took the rep 6 minutes to reply to my initial question. I said I would call but never did, life is busy.

    Today, my third service was just completed. I have dogs and keep locks on my gate to my backyard. I was checking my application periodically throughout the morning to see when the technician would be arriving. I checked again and it showed service had been completed. I opened my front door and sure enough, a receipt for service was hanging from the doorknob. Unfortunately, the technician didn't feel it was important enough to notify me and treat my backyard yard. He just sprinkled minimal fertilizer in my front yard and drove off. Again, maybe standards have changed, or maybe my manager I had while working for TruGreen expected more of us. I'm sure I will find a local company here in Houston that will provide much better quality of service. Seems like trugreen is focused on quantity over quality.

    I have emailed several times to get someone to respond to the problems I am having. No response!! My yard looks worse than my yard has ever looked. I have suspected your tech hasn’t been spraying my yard, but couldn’t be 100% certain. I caught him in the act with the last service. He showed up, my sister told me he was here. 5 minutes before I got outside to talk to him and he was already putting his hose away. The only thing he did was wave his wand a couple times in front lawn.

    I asked him about the backyard. He said he already sprayed it. I was sitting in a chair that overlooks my backyard, through an 18ft window, he most certainly did not spray the backyard. He told me he went into the backyard from the other side of my yard. I asked how he got in, he said through the gate. There is no gate!! And I still would have seen him if he had. I told him I have suspected he wasn’t spraying my yard and now I am 100% sure. I told him to bring his hose and spray every inch of my back yard. He did, but I had to babysit him to make sure he did his job. I shouldn’t have to do that. And, just today I mowed my yard and thousands of moths flew out. My yard is infested with weeds and bugs.

    Last year I called and said my yard looks worse than when they started. The manager said for me to be patient that by May my yard would be green and weed free. That did not happen. My yard looks worse than last year when I reported the first time. I have pictures to prove it. From when you started, when I called you last year and what it looks now. (Worse than last year). I should not have renewed for the prepaid year like I did this past year. I believed the manager that by May my yard would be green and lush so I paid for another year. All you guys had to do was answer one of the three emails I write telling what has been going on and make it right. Oh and one more thing. The tech didn’t show up for almost three months the time before last. He told me TruGreen shut down for a few months. Like a trusting person I try to be, I believed him. I’m very very frustrated with your service!!! Please make this right. I look forward to a response.

    I had a technician come out to my property for the first time, while no one was home. I have close to 9,000 square feet. On camera the technician only sprayed 1,000. Never bothered to go in the backyard. On his work order he notated spraying the backyard. He never did it. My neighbors brought it to my attention as well. I called customer service to complain and cancel my service. They offered to come back and spray they yard. But at this point I didn’t want to deal with them because the technician was dishonest. It was escalated up to management department. I got a call the next day. The rep didn’t want the videos, and she said there is no point going further because my account is closed. She refused to refund my account I’m FURIOUS. Because the lack integrity and professionalism. Please TRUGreen do not post a prewritten template about trying to fix the problem, when y’all had the chance too!!

    Trugreen couldn't get my 1st service done until mid-May and yet their trucks serviced 3 other homes around me the week of April 27th, it pissed my wife off so bad she canceled the service. I was willing to pay the double amount for their service than other Lawn services charge that work in my area. Figuring that Trugreen was a large company and would be able to take care of our needs in a timely manner. Well come to find out, bigger is not better. I called a local guy, he was out the next morning for half the price for the same things and with 2 additional services above Trugreen's package. Use the little guy, they are hungry to work and provide the services you need, when you need them.

    WARNING!!! What you need to know about TruGreen:

    1. Dishonest: A scheduled technician will write up a service order, submit it to accounts payable, and then charge your account... when the technician NEVER set foot on your property. When you try to have your account credited for services not rendered… good luck! Misguided advertisement…that says, ”we promise to work until your lawn looks its best.” Not in my case. They unsuccessfully tried, failed and then deactivated my account and walked away.

    2. Inadequate: Scheduled appointments canceled due to mechanical failures. Products used do not perform as advertised.

    3. Destructive: Will ignore a customer’s plea in regards to an invasive weed. TruGreen's negligence in treating the invasive weed allows that weed to kill off lush St. Augustine grass leaving embarrassing destruction in its path. After TruGreen’s failed attempts to control the invasive weed, TruGreen’s response is to cancel your account leaving you with a damaged lawn.

    P.S. When a technician arrives to service my lawn…looks over at my neighbor’s lawn and says, “Wow, their lawn looks great. What do they treat their lawn with?” Sad to say, my neighbor does nothing to treat their lawn. So, what does that tell you about TruGreen’s product?

    Great marketing company, but when it comes down to it...it's way too big... they've sacrificed personal service by getting too large... I never know what time the technician (who I don't even know) is coming even though the app constantly texts me with the technician's ETA, but that ETA is never right and shows a little truck on a map route with a time window of like 8 hours??? Really? I tried making changes to my account and must have called 8 different 800 numbers and even couple local numbers but get to the same exact menu at corporate probably and then after trying to speak to someone always got a voice mail that was full.. But when I hit the key for "interested in opening up a new account" lo and BEHOLD I got a live person..

    The first live person there was so rude, she actually hung up on me... then called again and a very nice woman told me she'd get me to the person who would help me and would stay online until then.... so I cancelled my service but needed to listen to multiple attempts to try to keep me and even when I said I was unhappy with the service and even if you gave it to me free it wouldn't matter... the next question out of this person's mouth was "If we gave you the next service free would you consider staying with us?" unbelievable.... Suggestion to all is to stay LOCAL with vendors and contractors and stay away from the big BOYS... never will get the same service..

    I paid Tru Green 2 months ago, they were on their third service to my yard. I have cameras around my home. The technician came out to my home on 4/8/2020 stayed for exactly 3 minutes! Only sprayed the portion of my yard where he parked, threw a tru green sign in my yard like he was throwing a dart then left!! I cancelled all further service with tru green and wouldn't recommend this untrustworthy company to anyone!

    Over a week ago, I called a sales person Tim and inquired about the cost of a lawn service. Later on that same day, I cancelled that service and a confirmation was given. I was assured that there would be no charge to my bank account. This was a lie and a scam. March 23, 2020, my bank was charged the full amount of $613.45. It has been literally pure hell to try and get them to refund my money that they took without my authorization. They hire staff that cannot spell or do not listen and you have to repeat yourself numerous times. What kind of operation scams senior citizens. Beware of this lawn service.

    I first used these guys in 2016. They burnt my lawn to a toast. They told me they'd fix it no charge. They came back a few times to try to bring my grass back but my lawn was gone for the season. Fast forward to today and I've getting billed by a collection agency for the so called make up services to fix my lawn from 2016. I'm being chased by a COLLECTION AGENCY for services rendered four years ago that were performed because they screwed up. And now they have a short memory on what they promised me...that they wouldn't bill me for the services done to try to bring back my lawn. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS.     I had Trugreen for 2 years. After 2 years of them spraying my yard they claim they came out in the November and December and sprayed. If so then they would have sprayed my dogs also with poison. After some lady called me claiming I owed for 3 months I told her there is no way they came out because my dogs were in the backyard and they don't spray when dogs are out. The lady said, "Cant help you with that," and hung up sent my bill for 150.00 to collections. Called them back they said it was more than 150.00 and claimed all the supervisors where in meeting.

    I have looked at reviews and video of people being charged and the drivers never get out or spray Which I am sure is what happened here. I would have no problem paying for services that were done. But this company is a rip off. I now believe there was multiple times where I was charged and services were not done. Stay away from this company and trust me your grass will not get green like they claim. They will try and sell you on other crap saying your yard needs more air or different chemicals. Several occasions they killed my grass and said it was the weed killer and it would come back. Please look on Youtube or reviews before hiring this company.

    I have been with the company for over 20 yrs. Over the years my service has gone down due to lack of application by the tech. I have complaints on more than one occasion that the tech wasn't doing my entire lawn. I have cameras on my property that monitor anyone on the property. Each time the tech comes he shows on the cameras two time - one when on the porch and one time going down and back up on quadrant of my property. I have 3/4 of a acre lot covers by camera. He don't finish the front two side and back at all because we are not at home. I like the service if done right. My wife points it out every time and I started to catch it and the lawn tells the story. I'm not looking to get free service. Just want what I pay for. I'm a disable Marine Vet forced with stopping my service and try to do it myself to stop paying for poor service.

    After they destroyed my lawn in 2019, I contracted another company to begin to repair the damage caused by TruGreen. I had made 3 formal complaints to TruGreen over the course of the 2019 season and nothing they did fixed the problems, it actually made it worse. I now have bare spots all over my backyard and more crabgrass than I started with.

    As it is now time for the new season to start, I have continually been getting harassed by TruGreen and told a new service will be happening multiple times after I have cancelled them. I have spoken to customer service a total of probably 2hrs over the last month and no matter what I continually get an alert that a new service will be starting.

    Today, I decided to chat them as I had already spent more time than I have available speaking in circles with them. I was told that I had to call again in order to cancel. I stated that they are not authorized to access my property and I will file a police report if they do. The rep responded and stated that unless I call they will proceed with the scheduled service, even though I have already called and cancelled the service twice over the phone. I also have photos of the chat conversations. STAY AWAY FROM TRUGREEN. Lawn Doctor has been incredible thus far and I highly recommend them.

    I used their company in the past (for several years)! I stopped service due to the continued calls about upgrades to service. It got to be harassment. I started having grub issues and called today to obtain an estimate. I told the sales rep that I was reluctantly returning to obtain an estimate. I told the sales rep of the past issues but was willing to possibly give the company a second chance.

    The sales rep. gave me one price for services and told me how great and wonderful the company is and he would assure me that I won't have any issues this time. He wanted a decision today. I told the sales rep that I am obtaining other estimates and will not be making any decisions today. He said, "Hold on". He wants to see if his manager can get me a better price. He returned with a much better price and once again wanted a decision today. I again advised the sales rep that I will take this all into consideration but will not be making any decisions today. He said the price is only good for today and hung up on me. Well, so long TruGreen! I will NEVER use your company again... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SALES TACTICS...

    I was not happy with the Trugreen's performance on my yard. Many clovers and weeds after three plus years of service. I decided I was not going to renew my service. As both of myself and my wife work full time, we received a message that Trugreen was going to service my lawn. When we were able to call to cancel, it was after hours. I received an invoice and spoke with a customer service representative and was told the service renews automatically so I am stuck paying for a poor service I do not need nor do I want.

    My red oak was fine and then TruGreen sprayed my lawn and the tree started to decline, when I called them about the tree they would say the spray they use did not harm the tree and then started avoiding me. I continued the lawn service because they said it was not harming the tree, but the tree kept declining and I ask them if they could help me with the tree, they came and took samples and sent them off to A&M and said they it showed that they did not cause the issue. I called out 3 different arborists and they all said they it was caused by the chemicals used by TruGreen. I keep reaching out to them and they will not make it right. They continue to not pass on the information about not spraying around the tree to the techs that come out to treat the yard. I have photos of the tree each month for the past year and it shows the decline.

    I purchased a years lawn treatments from TruGreen. After 10 months of treatments the weeds in my lawn were still there and taking over my grass. I called and complained and they sent a different tech out to spray. After he looked to see what the prior tech was spraying he informed me that the wrong chemicals were being applied to my lawn. After one application of the right chemicals the weeds started to die off. But then Trugreen sent me a bill for 2 treatments for the month of August and October. Keep in mind my year treatments were not supposed to end until November.

    When I called trugreen they said if I purchased another years treatments they would waive the 2 billings. After informing them that I had until November and how unsatisfied I was with their service and would not use them again they tell me that their year service is 10 months of treatments not 12. I've talked to several people from trugreen and tried to explain to them that a year is 12 months not 10 and they all just tried to sell me more services and would say their year is 10 months. Needless to say 8 months later they are still sending me bills for 2 treatments done on the last 3 months of a 12 month year. Needless to say I would stay away from this lawn service. P.s. I also caught the tech one time on my video cameras pulling up to the house and hanging a bill on the door without doing anything and leaving. After calling and informing them of what just happened I was supposed to be credited that service which I never was.

    They did it backwards. My grass died except for a few clumps behind my house. I have some type of aggressive grasslike vegetation growing in my driveway. And my lawn is full of various weeds. I even have weeds I have never seen before! I had two houses with them with the same problem. I was told that they wouldn’t go out and respray for weeds in my driveway if I canceled my account. Apparently, they only make things right, if you keep paying them. Plus their sales is super aggressive and sketchy. You will be sent text messages and be called about additional services. When I canceled my accounts, I still received phone calls and mailings trying to get me to buy services. It’s never “We’ll restore your lawn since we killed it.” I was legit told “We have to make it worse before it gets better.”

    We had Trugreen as our lawn company and last year they ended up killing our lawn. Our neighbor who also has them had his lawn majorly damaged as well. Although they said it had to do with lack of watering, that was not the case. So in July of 2019 they sent two sales reps out to our home, Adam and Teddy, to try to resolve this issue and have us sign back up. They promised us 20 trays of plugs, as well as mosquito, tree and shrub, etc. services at no additional cost so long as we pre-paid for the year which we did. ($560.00). Shortly after us prepaying we received bills from them for each "free" service. We called both Adam and Teddy who assured us this was a mistake and they would take care of this....We had paid for one year of services.

    I have to say when we inquired about the 20 trays of plugs we ended up having to speak to a manager who gave us a hard time....saying that that was not something they would normally do and advised us that Adam was fired because of his promises and lack of honesty and the company could not stand by him. So now they start billing us beginning in January of 2020 ...saying it was only a "calendar year" and now charging us for services that were given to us for free to get us to come back as a customer. We are livid....I have just disputed this with our credit card company. Unless they make us whole, as per their contact, we will have nothing to do with TruGreen and will make sure they do not take advantage of anyone else. We really hope they do the right thing and honor their contact.

    This company is awful. One person is worse than the next, from the techs who come to your home who know absolutely nothing about lawn care to the customer service people who don't have a clue what is going on. They pretty much killed my lawn from applying the wrong weed killer, then did it again. They never send the same tech so they don't know anything about your lawn. The customer service is awful, they are nice enough, but constantly making mistakes, say they'll call and fix things, then never do. This is the worst lawn care out there, they are a joke.     I switched my lawn care to TruGreen from a previous lawn care company because the previous lawn care company raised their prices significantly. TruGreen came in after they evaluated my lawn and quoted me close to what I previously paid so I decided to make the switch. Near the middle of summer, my lawn started to show brown spots that started to enlarge as the summer progressed. Near the end of summer, I have never seen my lawn in this bad shape. I called TruGreen and after several attempts they finally sent someone to check my lawn and their solution was to give my lawn another treatment. Shortly after that, I got a bill for the extra treatment but my lawn never recovered.

    I have since tried to call the company and every time I called, the Operator said they will have a supervisor call me. This has been the case for the past 3 months and to this day, no supervisor has called me. I have called a total of 5 times and left messages. I'm afraid I may have to reseed my entire lawn after this mess. I would have given them negative star rating if I could both for their lawn service but also their customer service. Never again would I consider this company.

    Today was the day that TruGreen was scheduled. This is a lease property, I was supposed to have a 2 hour window so that I could be there. Absolutely no calls and no communication. At 8:30, I had a text from the tenant who said that TruGreen had already been there. At that time of the morning, the grass is still wet from dew, and every pre-emergent that I have ever applied requires that the grass be dry. I don't know how effective the treatment will be; sounds like a wasted trip. I had used TruGreen before and after a full year, the yard still had weeds. I explained my previous experience with TruGreen & chose not to be on contract.

    DO NOT ever again show up at this property without notifying me well in advance so that I can be there. It takes an hour for me to drive to the property. Treatments need to be scheduled late morning or early afternoon. My tenant works at night and TruGreen cannot show up at 8:30 A.M. and wake her up. If this happens again, I will cancel the service.     Take my advice, run away. Your lawn will be better off if you just water it. It is painful to watch our once green lawn become a very anemic yellowish green while our neighbors who use Lawn Doctor have a beautiful green lawn like ours used to be. I would not recommend anything to do with TruGreen and suggest they remove the word green from their name. TruGreen, Don't bother with your "we will look into the problem" comment you usually respond with, we are way past that point! Let's call it what it is, you are crooks!

    Saw some of the reviews are favorable while others are not. I think in all fairness, it all depends on which state you live in and the people who works for this company. We tried TruGreen when we first bought our home, at first it was good but after that, it all went downhill, so we stopped using them. This morning, I saw 2 TruGreen employees pushing a feeder on a neighbor’s lawn. I find it really odd that they were putting fertilizers on FROZEN ground when the temperature was 29F!! I think TruGreen ought to be honest and transparent with their customers especially those who are from foreign countries.

    I would urge every home owners especially if you are from a foreign country to do your research before hiring lawn care companies like TruGreen. Get to know your own lawn, the climate in your area and don’t believe everything that these people tell you. Some of them have no idea what they are talking about. This particular TruGreen is based in Charlotte (South), NC.

    Nothing, “True” or “ Green” about this company. Our weeds & crabgrass are worse than when we started service. We have bald patches, on the lawn. All of these problems were promised to be addressed in the service, when we hired them. The year end review person did not acknowledge my concerns. Instead Asked if, I would renew the contract!!!! When I called to pay the last due bill, and express my dissatisfaction, all the lady on the other end wanted is the payment!!! No, I would not recommend their service. In fact I have had family and friends ask, and I discouraged them. A very poor experience.

    I had a technician show up at my house to apply potassium as the final application of the year. When I arrived home I noticed there wasn’t any evidence on my lawn that the potassium was applied so I looked at my Nest camera to verify it was done. The technician came to my house and sat in his truck for 18 minutes. The only time he got out was to deliver the paperwork saying that the job was done. I called TruGreen to rectify the situation and I was initially told that I had no evidence of this so a technician would have to come to the house and verify it. They said they knew he was there because they have GPS on the trucks. I explain that I had 18 minutes of video and I would send it to them.

    I have been a customer of theirs for several years and the only thing they did was credit me that application but decided to add another one during the same visit and charged $56 for that one. My cameras don’t go back far enough to verify they actually did the previous applications so I can’t prove if they were done or not. You would think Trugreen would do a little more to hold on to their customers but obviously this is not the case. There are other companies out there that can do the same job for less money and employ people who actually care about their customers. Stay away. Not worth having to constantly verify they are providing you the service that you are paying for.

    I have tried to maintain my lawn for many years, but never had the time to do so properly, apart from watering. I decided to hire TruGreen to help manage my weeds, and to get a healthier looking lawn. Midway through the summer, I tried to contact them to express my disappointment in the service. No follow up. The same at the end of the summer, and this time they sent out a man to assess my situation and their remedy was another treatment. I can honestly say that my lawn looked no different at the end of the treatments from the beginning. It was a terrible waste of money and I will never use them again. Having read other complaints, I will ask in advance that TruGreen not express its concerns and then ask me to contact customer service. I tried that already and nothing came of it. What a terrible waste of $500. Look elsewhere for your lawn maintenance. That is my suggestion and what I will be doing in the next few months.

    We are on a military base in an RV Park where Trugreen is allowed to spray for weeds on desert landscape. The idiots over-sprayed, used a high concentration and colored everything a horrible orange yellow. And I mean everything, the big decorative rocks, the red rocks, the electrical and water covers, the concrete, the white sand. This stain got everywhere, our shoes, clothes, and ruined the floor of our brand new RV.

    I had signed up for yearly lawn service in May of 2019 and had prepaid for entire year on 2nd May in full. I was told that it covers me through end of April 2020. Today I receive a call from the customer service saying I need to pay $32 as charge for the last service. When I told her I have already prepaid for the entire year, suddenly the reason changed. New reason, I paid $32 less in May and they will send a new invoice stating that, seriously!! All the way in December?? After more than 7 months?? Even if I consider there was a balance due, were you sleeping all this while??. I am in a possession of receipt from back in May showing no balance remaining with prepaid balance details. The rep wasted good half an hr of my time at work rudely repeating that I never paid in full and will send a new bill. These people are cheats to say the least. Please stay away from these crooks, they will try to rip you off of your hard earned money. You have been warned!!

    I spent more than a half an hour on the phone talking to a gentleman at TruGreen about my desire to have someone do peripheral insect control. There was supposed to be someone from the local office to contact me and to give me a heads up when they were coming here so I could be here and talk to them about the pest control because I have a lot of pets that I didn't want poisoned. I also was going to talk to them about doing my lawn possibly and get an estimate. Instead they never let me know they were coming; the man showed up while I was gone and poisoned my entire yard killing the beneficial nematodes that I spent over $250, plus, time and energy putting into my lawn.

    Getting ahold of someone to help with the situation was nearly impossible. I am very very disappointed and upset and plan to pursue getting my money refunded and get financial compensation for the problems that they've caused. Plus the poison they put down was not one I would have agreed to as it is extremely toxic to birds bees and other animals. I was lied to when TruGreen told me they could accommodate my needs without poisoning the other animals of my concern in my yard and home.

    Signed up for text notifications of service date. Was not notified of a service date. Leaves all over grass. I work 12 hour shifts. Got home at 830pm to a note that service was done and I should water my grass. They fertilized leaves. When I called to say I was not notified of service date was told they apologize for that but would still have to charge me for service. Needless to say I paid 49.95 for a service date I did not approve and to have fallen leaves fertilized. I cannot even believe the lawn tech would have attempted to service my lawn on this date with the leaves all over. Awful service awful customer service!!! Very poor customer service.     Updated on 12/04/2019: Talked to customers service and they said, "We know about the unprofessionalism," but did I receive a flag and a write up ticket about what services they provided. This is a disgrace after they (TruGreen) from the response I told the Consumer Affairs told me to call their customers service number and they will take care of it. Another lie, they now have no records of any complaints. No mention of returning my money for the year 2019. They take the money and run.

    Original Review: I personally watched and recorded TruGreen worker did not even do the whole yard nor treat shrubs as paid for. I watch them sit in their vehicle and write out a receipt lying about what they did. Called supervisor and nobody comes out to investigate. This happened in Columbia South Carolina TruGreen Service, they know they're cheating customers because they believe nobody is home, but cameras don't lie. They cover for one another and I quit using their services.

    TruGreen is a terrible lawn care company. Prior to using them, I had a very green lawn that looked great. Then when my work schedule got too busy, I paid TruGreen to fertilize, apply weedkiller, etc. Well, after two months of it, they destroyed my entire yard because they mistakenly applied the weedkiller that they apply to rocks to the entire lawn instead of the lawn weedkiller. I had to talk to several people until they finally acknowledged it and said they would try to make it right and apologized for covering it up. Next, while trying to fix it, they broke my fence, broke two sprinklers, and never could get it fixed, so my lawn looked terrible for the rest of the year.

    In the spring of the next year, I had to call back again and beg them to come back out to fix their screw-up, and they said they would come out to aerate the lawn, and they came out, but only partially aerated the front, broke another sprinkler, chipped my brick, and didn't even go in the back. Then they said they were going apply a double dose of fertilizer but then said it was something else they use for trees and would have to come back. They did come back and applied something as I was getting home and I kicked them off my property.

    A week later, the area that they applied whatever it was had mostly died. At that point I fired them, sent a nasty letter to them. Next, I applied revive and Scotts fertilizer myself, then some extra grass seed, extra nutrients, and within two months, I had my lawn back to looking beautiful again. To get someone in the local branch here is a pain because their local number is forwarded to a call center staffed with incompetent call takers whose only job is to run interference so you can't talk to anyone local or any managers. I finally drove down to the local branch and talked to the General Manager, and he ended up to not care and clearly showed that he didn't care about customer service and was only there for the paycheck.

    TruGreen is a terrible company who cannot be trusted, has incompetent staff, lies to you even when you have surveillance video footage of what they did, tries to cover up mistakes, and uses a terrible mixture of whatever poisonous solution they put on the lawn. Also after talking to several TruGreen people and asking why professional golf courses that they take care of look so great, I was told that for the professional service, they use a much better liquid and sometimes even use Scotts fertilizer to make sure it greens up. Terrible that we as consumers have to get terrible service. Don't use these folks ever!!!!

    I started services in MD to try them out because I received a lot of advertisements in the mail. They came out the first time and did an analysis on my lawn and from there came out again to start the services which included the first treatment of fertilizer which was good. The next time I was supposed to receive services I got a text saying services was complete. I was home all day and also monitored my home security cameras and no specialists ever came to my home and completed any services but submitted to the company that he did.

    Then I was supposed to receive aeration and seeding but it kept getting postponed and when the specialist finally came out to do the services he rushed through it and didn’t complete my whole front lawn and didn’t even aerate none of my back yard. The specialist also did no overseeding. I received a bill of $234 for this which I was never told of when I started the account. I was only advised that I would make prepayments of $59.99 so I called customer service and they were sarcastic stating “sorry you didn’t ask”. I cancelled my service immediate.

    We recently opted into TruGreen lawn services and have found out that our entire back yard has not been treated all year. We only found this out because we purchased an aeration and overseed at the end of the year and realized only the front yard was done. Not only were they only treating just half of our yard (we paid for the full yard) but not a single seed was even spread in the area that did have the aeration! When confirmed with the office, they did state they had it documented that the entire yard was aerated and seeded, which was a lie.

    The front yard that has been treated this year has bright green stripes from the misapplication of fertilizer that we will be stuck with until next year. We have had trugreen staff out to our house, who took photographs of the disaster they have made out of yard and said I would hear from a supervisor and that the rest of the yard would be aerated and seeded by the end of the week.. No one showed up and no one has even called. I have called several times to speak with a supervisor with no luck.

    Trugreen not showing up is a common theme, especially if you pay up front. They will simply keep rescheduling your services until services overlap and fall off, leaving you paying for more than you received. Do yourself and favor and choose any other lawn company near you. If you do decide to go with Trugreen, monitor how many services you got vs how many you actually pay for. Also, be present to ensure they are actually treating your entire property.

    I have had TruGreen for several years and every single year I have had to fight with them to spray my yard entirely! Creeping charlies and thistles continue to grow in the middle of my yard, I paid my bill entirely off, even though I disagreed with their performance and canceled the service. A few days later I got a call from the retention department asking me what they can do to make this right. First thing I said was to fix the issue of the creeping charlies and thistles. He said that he would send out a person to do a "re-treatment" and he said that if I am happy with that, then he asked if I would reactivate services. I told him that there is no promises, but we would see. He scheduled the re-treatment and they came out and did it. Now I got a bill for that treatment!

    I called into customer service and they looked at the notes and none of this was on my account. So they said that I would have to pay for this and they even had enough nerve to tell me that the next treatment would be in 1 week! REALLY? Complete Clowns and LIARS! I told them to never call me ever again and that I would be putting this review out there. She said that she would make a note of that. Just wow?! I suggest never to use these unprofessional fools for your lawn care, unless you want to have drama the entire time that you use them.

    I would highly recommend "Tru-Green" if you want your lawn to be ruined in as little as 5 applications. I called and complained about many weeds and brown patches. They answered by sending one of their "so-called" lawn experts. They sent some kid with ear phones on (listening to music) and he did not have a clue what I was complaining about. I almost had to show him where the grass was not to mention the brown patches.... What a joke these people are. Again if you want your lawn ruined, I would highly recommend "Tru-Green"!!!

    I’ve been to war, I’ve been in heated competitive battles, I’ve been confused, misused, Happy, SAD, but your company called me back early June 2019 to regain your services that I parted ways with a year or so before. THIS HAS BASICALLY BEEN 5 months WASTED of my LIFE I WILL NEVER GET BACK. My grasses growth regressed, your product filled my lawn with weeds that I had to pay extra money to remove. The Coup de grace I paid for Tree and Shrub service, which is another story within itself. Screws me on those service which I had one treatment remaining and this Dude name "Vanessa" called and I couldn’t take it anymore, so I cancelled asking for my remaining money back. Or my last DEEP ROOT FERTILIZING.

    So I found out the guy Vanessa canceled without scheduling my treatment and I can’t schedule it now since the account was canceled. So just to get my last treatment to save some sense of WTF I stuck with this BS , I reopened my account scheduled my DEEP ROOT FERTILIZING AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF YOU ** never showed today ???? One word I will BLAST when I see, hear the a mention of TruGreen is INCOMPETENCE!!!

    I’m sure this is full of run on sentences, grammatical errors, as I stated when I began this update through war, Boxing ???? matches, football games, practice, I can’t recall feeling so dizzy ???? and exasperated without even being punched, tackled or shot at. WELL hopefully the ASTROS WIN LATER TONIGHT. Please refund what’s left of my tree and shrub payment or just keep it if it’s going to take some long winded excuse of well the blah blah blah used it to blah blah ???? Just keep it. Matter of FACT, thanks. The best service by far was the product that removed the weeds you guys other product caused to consume my yard in a matter of days AND I PAID EXTRA FOR THAT!!

    I signed up for TruGreen over the phone with a sales call. I paid over 700 for the year of service and I assure you it's been a nightmare. We have lived in our location for over 3.5 years and we have always maintained our yard, and this year we signed with TruGreen and my plants have died and the yard looks horrendous. When I complained the guy came out and said, "Well you have root rot or its from how hot it has been, and your plants that have died we aren't fixing them." VERY SAD, and I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE THE WORST.

    Worst mistake I've made as a homeowner was throwing away money on Trugreen. My whole yard is dead. It's $66.03 per visit each month. When I was sold the plan I was told "With Trugreen you just have to water twice a week and your yard will look great". I have paid Trugreen over $730 so far since the contract started in March. It's an extremely expensive service and if it doesn't work you'll still be stuck in the contract with nothing to show for it. You're much better off fertilizing on your own, then you aren't out almost $1,000 by the end of a useless contract. Thank goodness I only have 2 services left, at this point I'm not going to let them in my yard. I will just pay for them to go away. I only have a little sod still living on the sides and don't want more damage. I would eat glass before getting stuck in another contract with this company.

    First let me start by saying TruGreen has very responsive customer service but that's where it ends. I have used several lawn services over the years but this is the worst. My lawn has had issues from funguses to insect problems from the start.. My backyard was 70% dead by the end of the summer. Steve from the Warminster branch was nice enough to reseed my backyard at no charge but there was so much thatch from the dead grass little new grass will take.

    Today, I had a scheduled fertilization. When I let our puppy out, she was eating the fertilizer pellets that were all over our patio and driveway and sidewalks. I was able to blow some of it back on the lawn. Again, nice people but not worth the aggravation.

    I signed up for prepay and did so for two years. The second time I did to give another chance to TruGreen. All promises and no results. My lawn continued to have weeds. My entire neighborhood (Saint Johns, FL) moved to Safari, a far better service as I see that that through their customer service and the lawns they maintain. Every visit, a note was given by TruGreen with the promise that weeds would go away in 4-5 weeks. I have saved every note (if the company wants to see them). None of that happened. I called in multiple times but to no avail (I must admit the phone reps are awesome). One day a note was hanging on my door saying that my lawn was in poor condition and to make my lawn better I need to move to TruGreen.

    I called the TruGreen sales person and he explained that my current provider was doing a poor job and after hearing him out, I told him my current provider was TruGreen itself. The person promised to investigate and call me back. He called back and to my disbelief told me that lawn care chemicals/treatment are provided based on the price being paid by the customer. For what I was paying the chemicals were limited and hence the lawn was in bad shape. Really? After two years, after paying a quote that was given by TruGreen, I'm being told that not enough chemicals were applied as the price was less. I made my decision to walk away and since then at least 5 of my friends have done so. We will continue to ask our friends and families to stay away from this company.

    I got the years worth of lawn service and reseeding. I’ve called and complained several times as my yard still had weeds and bald spots. I was told a manager would return my call and resolve the last bill. Nothing for months. Messaged the app (as they sent 49 dollars to collections!). Again told someone would follow up within three business days. Stated they do not report on your credit, you may not but if you sell a fever to a collection agent you they can. Well over that the three days I messaged again. Finally got a message back saying the 49 dollars was settled, but nothing on the unsatisfactory work completed. They responded back that I basically waited too long. This company likes to give you the run around and then states it’s been too long to back their money back guarantee. My yard looks worse than ever and I’m out a few hundred bucks.

    I prepaid for 7 treatments. They "forgot" me in June and gave a "double" treatment in July on same day. They forgot me again in Sept and I still have two treatments coming but it's now Oct. Never do prepay as they tend to forget you exist and you have no leverage. Customer service rep said nothing they can do since I had prepaid and will not refund any money.

    We have very recent bad experience even we are their regular customer for a few years. Here is our recent experience that we called TruGreen about the aeration and seeding; the sales rep has gone through our account, settled with the service and pre-payment. The pre-payment guy called us even during the weekend (usually they wouldn't call us or respond during the weekends) and we thought he called us for the pre-payment; he did not agree with the pre-payment and said we wouldn't do it for that amount and raised the amount about 50% of the settled amount. Be aware and careful the way they do the business even with the regular customers. We are very unsatisfied.

    When I initially called my problem was a very large pear tree that had a fungus and needed treatment. I was informed that they could take care of the problem. On the first scheduled visit the tech never showed up nor called even though I call the company numerous times during the day inquiring on his time of arrival. Was continually given a time but as stated he never arrived. Visit was rescheduled a week later. The tech arrived and only treated the lawn which was not my main problem.

    When I called the company asking why the tree was not treated they informed me that they cannot treat a tree over 20 feet tall. I had already told them the apex. height of the tree when I requested the service. I cancelled the contract after hearing about their limitations and requested a refund. Never received the refund. Called the company numerous times and all they keep telling me is they refunded the money but the money was never refunded to the credit card I used. They have been totally uncooperative regarding this matter.

    Updated on 10/02/2019: I used the lawn care service, had a problem, wrote a review and got the same canned answer that all the one star reviews got. When I contacted the customer service they lied to me and posted on my review that the had payed for the damage they caused. The money they put back on my credit card was not the correct amount, ie short, that they had agreed to. All of the one star reviews are way too similar to mine to be a coincident. Liars and Cheats. NO STARS!

    Original Review: We used their service for a year. At the end of the year we still had weeds. I signed up and paid for one year. Read the fine print! One year of service is not a full year! Before the year was up they showed up without telling me that it would cost more. Then during that treatment their hose knocked down one of the poles for our covered patio and tore the canopy. The tech lied about causing the damage. The company told me they would pay for the damage. It's been almost a month and 1/2, and no payment. I don't trust them and will never do business with them again.

    I have used their services for the past 3 years. The first year they were great. The second year they fertilized my lawn and it killed my grass. After several phone calls nothing was resolved. I provided them the opportunity to resolve the problems this year, all was fine for a few months then all went south again. They fertilized my lawn again, I started seeing brown patches in my lawn. I spoke with a representative that stated they will reseed my lawn, once again no action has been taken to this date. However, they call me 5 times a day for a $100.21 bill. It will cost me over $700.00 to reseed my lawn. Please don't get me wrong. I will pay the bill, I just want them to correct the problem. I am always told someone will call me concerning my lawn. No such call has happened. Shameful customer service.

    I hired the company to help me with the loan because grass start to die. It looks like fungus. I call the company and ask to send specialist to figure out the problem. Instead they send technician to put fertilizer. He said that it is no fungus. The grass continues to die. I call the company and technician came again and did the same. Same result. By the time the grass on the front yard completely gone. The company send another technician and he said that we have fungus, but did not treat.

    I put another grass on the front yard but did not do anything with the back yard. I came to the company local office and requested to talk to manager or supervisor. After waiting he came to me and promised to come. Yes, he came and said that we have several problems to fix. He apply something and gone. Several week later another guy came and apply something different saying that we have fungus. Technician came several time and did not go on the back yard, So, all grass on the back yard died. On the front yard new grass, I plant this year, start to die also. Terrible service, not professional attitude. If your grass are healthy, they will apply fertilizer. Otherwise you just lose your money!!!

    I have been with TruGreen over 6 years. My lawn has bald patches. The tech in the spring said he would have to have someone come out and evaluate my lawn. The next time I saw him he told myself and my dad "We will have to aerate and seed in the fall." I asked if would be a charge and he said no. Now I am trying to get it done and the management won't even return my call. They just noted my account I would have to pay for it. I would NOT recommend this company. I even had a time over the years a guy said he did my lawn but no way he could have because the back gate was locked. I have done all I can. Go with a cheaper lawn company that keeps their word is my advice.

After several minutes, when the drive neither moved nor turned the engine off, a man emerged and began to hang advertisements for TruGreen on a neighbor’s door. I approached him about the pollution his running engine was producing and he sneered, turned his back to me and proceeded to neighbor’s door. It was a 70 degree morning. No need for air conditioning.     I was told when I started service that I’d be notified a week in advance. That never happened. I always got an alert late in the afternoon on Friday for a Monday appointment. I have dogs in my family and can’t have them in the yard when the service starts. I manually delayed the service every time, last time I told them by phone I didn’t want them coming back until October as my grass was dormant and didn’t need the service. I didn’t like their comments on my lawn care, I live in the PNW and get enough water without following their guidelines about so many inches so many times a week. I also didn’t need all their other services since my lawn is only two years old, no aeration, no thatching, give me a break!

    Last straw was when this Friday afternoon I had an appointment scheduled for Monday again. 1 day notice in the afternoon for the following day is not enough notice and not being able to contact them when I get home at 6 in the evening is not possible. They can’t follow my wishes and always tell me the computer spits out the notices. I’m done with them, too much frustration.

    While the technicians who apply the products each month are very kind and professional, we still have not seen the value in this program. We hired TruGreen 3 years ago because we wanted a professional service to take care of it and get it looking great. After 3 years of monthly applications and seeding and aeration each fall season, our lawn still looks terrible! We have reached out several times to area managers and they have walked the property to assess the lawn. They continue to ask us to allow them to seed and aerate again, as if doing the same thing will yield a different result. They asked me what I would like them to do in order to get a good looking lawn. I thought that was why I hired them... because they should have the answer to that question. Very disappointed with a nationally recognized brand name. Not surprised that their average rating is 3.6. Personally I would not recommend this company.

    The mosquito service did not work. When I called for a reservice I was told it would be a week before anyone could come out. When I signed up for the service I was told if we received even ONE bite in the 30 day period that reservice would occur within 48 hours. This did not happen and the customer service representatives responding to my emails were completely rude and condescending. A reservice did come out one week after my complaint. Two days later we were still receiving bites and again I was told it would be a week before anyone could come out and we would have to pay a full service fee. At this point I canceled the contract. I have two small children who I thought would be safe from bites in our yard. The customer service and product are terrible and I would not recommend TruGreen to anyone.

I called the company and they sent a manager out. He said it was drought related. I said what about the rest of the yard that has green grass. He had no answer.     I had recently bought my first home, and was suffering from a bad case of weeds.     I signed up with TruGreen last year for lawn service and prepaid for one year. I have been very satisfied with the lawn service and the technician that provides the service. My dissatisfaction is with the billing. After the last 3 treatments I was billed for the service. I would have thought after the first error they would have become aware of the problem and corrected it. I'm tired of dealing with their mistakes.

    I am using their services for lawn, tree and shrub care since 2015. Every year noticed a downward change. Right now my lawn is with lot of patches, weeds, and shrubs burnt out, one tree was badly infected. Even though reported several times, no action by TruGreen.

    Over 6 months into the service and my lawn is still full of weeds, moths, dead spots and mosquitoes. Calling multiple times to complain has resulted in no improvements. In fact, they tried to upsell me for $138 aeration treatment in response to my complaints that the service was not working! This has been a horrible experience and I cannot wait for my contract to be up so that I can hire a company whose products work for my lawn and I don't waste time every month calling to complain to people who provide no solutions. I can't even get an actual manager to call or visit my lawn to address my concerns. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

    I have been a customer of TruGreen for many years & have always had a good experience. If a problem is spotted, all it takes is a phone call & they will come back & redo the job. I do not have to remember when I fertilized, go out & buy the materials for the job, rent a machine to spread it or any of the other things necessary to have a nice lawn. All I have to do is water it & mow it.
