DO NOT USE TRUGREEN AS THEY CHEAT. I was charged for service in last Sept 2021 380$ and then 53$ in April and 58$ August 2022. They auto renewed my service and no one serviced my lawn from year. This is really bad and unprofessional stealing business. I called two times and told my concern but rep was so rude and kept insulting me like I am lying. I used TruGreen for at least 5 years and this kind cheating treatment they give. No one serviced my lawn and they don't even take effort to find if someone is actually servicing. Reps were rude and have no interest in knowing issue.

I have used TruGreen for a couple of years for the mosquito and tree service. This past season the service has become awful. Sloppy work, knocking over things in my yard and just stepping over it and leaving. The final straw was September 6th when they were doing the mosquito service, the worker slammed my privacy fence gate so hard he broke it. I was home and heard it, went outside to check and sure enough the gate was broken, and the guy was gone.

I called customer service and let them know what happened and they said they would pass it on to a supervisor. I did receive a call back the next day and was told she was contacting and area supervisor and someone would be out. I heard nothing and called again Friday afternoon and was told they were emailing the area supervisor. Again, I have heard nothing. Called again today to be told they would cancel my service and forward my concerns to a general manager. In the meantime, I have a broken gate that I will have to pay to have repaired (my fence was replaced about 4 months ago, so it is not old) and to top it off it rained the afternoon of my mosquito treatment, and the mosquitos are worse than ever. It says in their advertisement if it rains, they will respray; yeah right! I would definitely steer clear of TruGreen, their services and customer service has definitely deteriorated. I would leave less than on star if I could.

First the nonprofessional lawncare expert lied. He was doing aeration on the yard. My husband opened the back gate, told my husband that he could not get the machine thru the gate and he would return with a smaller one and finish the job - Lied. He never came back. I called and rescheduled, meaning he meant to leave it as such. I called customer service and had the remainder of the job on 9/7 between 1-4. On 9-7 around at 3:48 pm I received a text stating gate locked. Yes it is locked, I was waiting for him to come to unlock the gate. He did not ring the doorbell. I have a Ring security system and HE DID NOT COME. I called customer service. Asked to reschedule it or have the tech come out on 9/7, told by a rep, sorry too late. Was scheduled for today without offering me a time frame, it got booked for today from 1-6. I had travel plans today and asked that the time to be moved up to 8 am. Was told that they notified the manager.

This morning no change, called customer service and they have been reaching out to this non manager since 8 am this morning. I cancelled my travel plans to get this done today because I will be gone for a while. The tech lied and continue to lie and inconvenience me. I guess they don't care, they took the 331.00 immediately for a third of the job done, now I have to wait, so unfair and unprofessional for a company that so-call pride themselves on customer service.

The service I am getting sucks, no consideration for my time, only their time, paid for a service not fully done and I cannot speak to the manager because he is avoiding me like the plague. He will not call me to try to make this right? Who is going to compensate me for my inconvenience knowing I had plan to travel today? Nobody. They don't care, and especially this manager that allows a lazy tech to lie to a customer. Is this how you do business? If it is-I will be seeking out a reputable lawn care company, that cares about the customers, not give them the runaround for a huge mistake this nonprofessional lawn care expert and his manager sucks.

This was our first year to use TruGreen. They started treating our lawn in April. After the first couple of applications in April and May the lawn looked pretty good. This was a very hot and dry year in our part of the country. In June the chinch bugs set in. They treated our lawn in June and July for chinch bugs and used iron. Our lawn looked worse than ever. Weeds and chinch bugs taking over. In August they used sulphur on it. Our yard was mostly gone by this time. We were planning to cancel. They told us we needed to water 3 times a week. With water restrictions and the cost of water that wasn't possible. It started raining regularly in late August, but our yard is weeds and dead patches. I am not sure our yard will recover from the damage they did. Save your lawn and money. Avoid this company.

I tried TruGreen for the first time subscribe to all their services and when I asked about having someone come and take a look at my lawn because it was not doing well they came said that they would apply more products but was not able to say the reason for the results I have I also sent a video Which never got answered of why my lawn died. On my last service they had added more for weeds and now at the end of the season I have more weeds and seems that whatever was put down to not keep the weeds under control or strengthen my lawn.

Updated on 03/14/2023: After previously going back and forth with Trugreen about a lack of ANY visible results, I previously informed Trugreen (both here in communications, and to their service techs who would show up from time to time) that they were fired and I would never pay for their (lack of) service again. My original "service" term (if that's what you want to call what Trugreen provides) ended back in winter of last year. I then get a text message last Friday (3/10/23) that an agent is on their way to treat my lawn...

Sorry, not just 'No', but rather **-No! I ran outside to find the guy just sitting in his truck playing on his phone. I told him that I wanted Trugreen OFF my property, and I refused to pay for their services ever again. I told him I don't care what his little tablet/job computer was telling him, Trugreen was fired, and there will be no more money from me. I told him to cancel ALL services and never show up again. If I see a single charge on my credit card, that is getting reversed immediately. We are outside of the terms of the original agreement, and I DID NOT authorize them to continue their laughable "service".

The Product doesn't work. The service techs are often lazy and sometimes don't even do the job they claim to do (I know, I've sat in my house and watched them do nothing before), and the customer service is virtually non-existent. You get more interaction from their customer service from THIS SITE, than you do when you try to contact them directly. STAY AWAY. TruGreen is obviously NOT the company it used to be, and at this point it seems beyond ANY form of redemption as a company. If you read this? You've been warned.

Original Review: I've had Trugreen's service for over a year now, and my lawn problems are worse now than ever before. Cost is too high, Service is lackluster, and worse yet the product doesn't seem to work. Originally, I signed up to control Crabgrass and clover on my 1-acre property. Since signing up, they came and "fertilized" my lawn a couple of times, but always seem to have an excuse as to why they can't put down "weed killer". Recently, I lodged a complaint and got their guy to come out and do a "weed killer" treatment (which they want to charge me extra for, even though they should already be doing that as part of my plan), and after a week and a half (post-treatment), the weeds never died, and new weeds seem to be growing and popping up at the same rate as prior to treatment.

They say their product "takes time to work", and at first I was willing to buy that excuse. That being said, Scott's "Weed and Feed" works and tends to show results (especially in killing weeds) in 3 - 4 days. So why doesn't this supposedly "high-end" product and service seem to take months to work (if ever even does)? I started to suspect they were not putting weed treatment down.

I sat and discussed my issues with the serviceman before he sprayed, and then I watched him spray the lawn, so I know he did it this time. The serviceman also said he checked my account and the "weed killer" hadn't been used on my lawn in months (just the fertilizer has been applied). But the product is now down but NOT working. Not to mention every time they come out, they try to "upsell" another service (that likely won't work), and when you call them to say "hey come out, your last treatment didn't work..." they want to charge you AGAIN for another application. Which, if their product worked and was applied correctly, wouldn't even be necessary. I will be canceling their service immediately, as it is clearly a waste of my time and money. I highly suggest not going with this service if you have other options.

On 8/8/22, I signed a contract with TruGreen and paid upfront with credit card for a total of 9 treatments & aeration. The first service was the aeration and seeding, during which aeration, the riding aerator broke down and is questionable that the full aeration of my lawn was completed. Subsequently, a week later, a service person came and did the fertilization of the lawn. It is unknown to anyone if he also was supposed to also do grub control. The technician spread the fertilizer so heavily at places that he burned my green grass in large areas.

A week later another technician came to apply the grub control, although he was not sure if this was applied already. This is the anarchy that exists at TruGreen. No one is in charge of the schedule or what has, or has not done before. When I called customer service to ask about the next service, the answer is "what do you want done?"

The last technician that came to apply the grub control, also saw the burned grass because of the excessive fertilizer applied and he was in agreement that this is a big mistake while shaking his head. He took several pictures to show back to the office the damage done by the application of excessive fertilizer with the promise that a supervisor/manager was going to call me within the next 48 hours. No such luck. The technician then left without applying the grab control with the promise he will return in 2 weeks to apply the grub control. I am appalled by the fact that as soon as he left, doing nothing, TruGreen notified me and put in my account that the application was completed. What application? Furthermore, I was promised by a previous representative that the day the last technician, I was to receive a phone call from a supervisor/manager between 1-2 PM to discuss my total dissatisfaction with TruGreen. I am still waiting.

I asked for a full refund of my paid price credited back to my credit card because none of the services performed were as contracted but instead, TruGreen close my account and no further services are scheduled. TruGreen are thieves and should be prosecuted. The aeration was not completed as promised because the equipment broke down and the fertilizer was applied so heavily at spots that it burned my grass. I want a recovery of this grass to its original state. I would like to know what happened to the pictures the last technician took? Furthermore, why doesn't a manager or supervisor has not call me, in spite of the many promises?

These people should be prosecuted for fraud.

I paid upfront for an entire year of ‘Mosquito Defense + Outdoor Pest Control’ treatment. Every month for four months now I have called or chatted or both with their representatives and explained to them that I have more mosquitoes and more bugs than I did the month before, every month, and I get 1 of 3 responses. 1. "You have to give it more time, call back later in the month." 2. "We can reschedule your next visit for sooner." or 3. "We can have them put some extra down the next time they come out."

None of this works. Every month we’re getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. I have different reps contradict each other on what the ’+’ is for and what bugs or insects are included in that. I can confidently say there is no bug or insect of ANY kind in my yard that I have less of now than I did before I started using TruGreen. In my opinion, TruGreen is a straight up scam. And that is what I tell everyone that asks for my input. I’ve wasted my money. I wasted my time. And I didn’t use alternative means that probably would’ve worked because I was relying on them.

We’ve become very unhappy with our TruGreen Tree and Shrub program. At the last visit, I spoke to the technician as he was retracting his hose about specific plants and trees I was concerned about in my backyard. The answers I was getting from him were not accurate and I suspected he was lying and did not actually treat those areas. At that time, I had no proof to challenge him. So last week, when the automatic reminder call notified me I was getting treatment that day, I decided to stop working and observe where he treated. First, upon arriving at my home, he remained in his idling truck 10 or more minutes and appeared to be looking at his cell phone.

Second, he began to treat so I stood on my back deck waiting for him to come around the house to treat the backyard. While blocked from my view by the house, I observed his spray coming into the backyard from the gate. He sprayed basically to the limits of how far his spray would reach. Then he stopped and I assumed, okay, he’s going to come into the backyard from the other side of my home. I waited a few more minutes and he never did. So I went out front only to find him retracting his hose back into the truck. I confronted him asking why he didn’t treat the backyard, basically 2/3 of my total property. He made up a story that his computer said only to treat the front and side.

Have to say, I wasn’t buying that. It was absolute **. We’ve used the service since 1996 and every tech before him would treat the entire property. So I was not going to argue with him but told him I was going inside to contact his boss. He got quite agitated and went back to his truck and played out the hose and proceeded to treat all of my backyard plants. Now I have to wonder how long this has been going on that I’ve been cheated out of 2/3 of my property being treated? I contacted customer service and I still await a callback from the local office. It will take a great deal of convincing and some refunds from TruGreen to convince me to continue with their service. TruGreen better get smarter….most people work from home and/or have outdoor cameras. We can see if you are cheating us on your service.

I have had this service for approximately six months. This company has somehow managed to proliferate the weeds in my yard to the point where my lawn is now dominated by clumps of weeds. When I called for a re-service it took the poorly trained sales person much too long to give me a date. When that date rolled around I called again as I had not received notice of their visit. I was then given another date with no explanation as to why they did not appear.

They failed to keep the second date without any explanation as to why. This time I was told a "supervisor" would mosey on out here "some time" but the "sales" person could not say when. (Notice you are only allowed to speak with sales staff.) In other words they don't care about building their customer base loyalty after they have the sale. When I called a third time and asked to speak with a supervisor the sales staff person advised they were (conveniently) unable to transfer any calls internally. After over five minutes on hold the sales person returns to tell me their weather report. It seems the weather was the cause of the no shows. It was not raining at my house on the days in question except for one day when it rained well after normal business hours. So whenever it rains anywhere that apparently is the convenient excuse for atrocious service.

A short text message from someone who cared, with an explanation for the no show, would have gone a long way toward maintaining my customer loyalty, which this situation has thoroughly shipwrecked. But since they have my money upfront, there is no incentive to work to build and maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty. I have learned my lesson; the lesson being I would have gotten better service hiring a local teenager to do my lawn care. You should do the same.

I had TruGreen lawn service for 1 yr. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is beyond deplorable and trying to contact a supervisor takes over 48 hrs. The only way to contact your technician is to be home the day and hour of your treatment. I had 5 different techs and each said something different regarding a weed and treatment. When you cleared your calendar to be home for the appt, the appt would get changed. I watched the techs treat my yard and it was a hap-hazard application, only one tech was thorough w/o me having to ask them to do something more. The notes left by techs on the service ticket was never on point, it was like they weren't even at my home. For the $$, it's NOT WORTH IT. The company doesn't really care about the customer and their concerns, sad. So Glad I Cancelled my service with them. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!

Whatever they were spraying my yard with did not work (seemed diluted) and it became overcome by weeds and cinch bugs. A good section of my front yard was completely destroyed. Even the tech who regularly serviced my yard said they messed up. Manager came out a few times and promised for over a year to resod the area that didn't come back after stronger treatments then he left the company. Now I'm stuck fixing their mess. When I ended my service and explained to the customer service rep why she was very empathetic and stated someone would most likely follow up with me but nobody ever did. Save your money and use another company. They are not worth it.

TruGreen charges on average $75 for each visit which would be fine if they completed the service advertised. I had two recent services and both found the following:

Yard did not improve.
Weeds did not improve.

Color did not improve.

When I called to ask why, they gave me the run around. I have cameras around my house. Reviewing my cameras, I found the guy sitting in truck and no activity on my lawn for the exception of leaving a note. Another time showed the fastest spray with little real effort for application. I called to complain and I get the worse customer service. They committed to sending out someone to reservice and they charged me again full price. Don't use this service. TERRIBLE!

I have used TruGreen for years. The regular, lawn care maintenance is great. However, mosquito spraying is not. I have signed up for the 5 services of mosquito spraying 2 years in a row now, and for the 2nd year they fail to provide. This year I specifically called 2 weeks prior to a large outdoor party we were holding to make sure they treat for mosquitos the week of the party. The customer service claimed he put us on the schedule. I called the day before the party because they had not yet done the service, and their customer service rep said it was never scheduled. He then says he went to his manager and it would be done that day. It never happened! We put in 2 more phone calls after the party occurred without them treating for mosquitos, a manager never called back.

This is the part where it gets really good. They scheduled us for 4 days after the party (I know this because I received an email saying they were on their way). As was the case this year and last, for some reason they could not perform the service and it never happened! I will definitely not be using TruGreen again. Worst customer service ever!

We signed up for Trugreen 4/21. Our first service they did not treat our whole entire property as promised. They never showed the whole month of May, June I had to call and make sure someone was coming, they changed dates on us numerous times and I had to make sure all of property was treated as well. July they changed dates on us numerous times again and when they were schedule to come out the 27th we got a notice on the app that the tech couldn’t preform service due to US canceling appointment. Tech NEVER showed up but told office that we cancel! We then customer service to complain and to cancel ALL services because we had mosquito service as well and customer service was like, "Ok. We will get that cancelled for you." No remorse, NOTHING! DO NOT RECOMMEND this company for anybody!!

Nice guys, but they killed my lawn after 3 treatments.. It was St Augustine and I think they put the wrong chemicals on it.. Manager tried to say it was a fungus that killed the lawn. Root rot, but after 30 years I've never had a lawn that looked so bad.

Updated on 08/01/2022: TruGreen keeps stating "Resolution in Progress". There is none. This is false. I stand by my previous review, and am waiting for TruGreen to begin resolution. To date, they have not, despite numerous emails to the Customer Service Department. We keep getting the run-around.

Original Review: I have to agree with the reviews here as we have also suffered damage to our lawn, negligence, lack of customer support. We have experienced the very same problems that other people have stated. I would heartily recommend that those who have been taken for a ride by TruGreen to file a complaint with the BBB and the FTC. Keep in mind, that TruGreen pays Consumer Affairs for their "review." I am also a little suspect concerning the "Resolving Issue" posted above each negative review.

I have used them for approx. 3 years...the 1st 2 years were decent. Weeds were eliminated, and grass grew. When you had them come back out because you saw weeds, they would, but the tech got mad and INTENTIONALLY sprayed weed killer on my tree in the yard, killing it. The tree doesn't die there, but it takes a year or more before you see that it was sprayed. Then the lawn developed brown patch and they want to charge an additional fee to cure it. Duh! If you are spraying for weeds, fertilizing, lime, etc. why would not include a fungicide???? Isn't that a part of caring for a lawn??? After the 3rd year, I had to let them go. Also, they changed techs too often. It's never the same person servicing your lawn. They also leave a receipt with scientific names that the layman/homeowner can't decipher what was put on their lawn. I assume this is to keep one from knowing and learning how and when to service their own lawn.

I began using TruGreen in the Spring of 2021. I was fairly pleased with their service for the first 6 months. As recently as May of 2022, the lawn looked OK. When I called the company to inform them that I observed one of their technicians not covering my entire lawn with the most recent application the company sent another technician out to apply a free service to my lawn. About one week after that free service approximately 80% of my lawn was dead.

I then cancelled the service. Since that time I've had no less than 3 company reps call me and tell me that they understood my concern. They also indicated that a supervisor would be out in 1 to 2 days to observe my lawn. I even told them I would consider resigning with them if they could give me a proper resolution. NO ONE ever came. The last company rep who called me was the most infuriating person I have ever spoken with in my life and I'm 66 years old. All she kept trying to do was place the blame back on us. To whomever will listen...please, please, please, do not use TruGreen as your lawn service!!!

I contracted TruGreen to take of my yard for a year. One "service" and I canceled them. They never showed up for the first application. I had to call them to reschedule. They missed the next service call. I called them and rescheduled. The "technician" arrived. 10 minutes into his application he informed me he had to go to the bathroom. I said, "Of course use our guest bathroom." He said it was against company policy and he would go to the gas station and be right back. He rolled his hose back up and left NEVER to come back.

After calling Tru Green they told me my yard had been serviced completely. I explained what happened. Then re-explained to the next two people up the chain. The third person was very nice and canceled my order. Told me a regional representative would come by, never happened. This company is only in it for the money. Use Sunday products and get better results doing it yourself for 1/4 the price. Be warned.

I’ve been a customer of Trugreen for almost a decade. For the last few years, weeds have progressively taken over my front yard. My front yard is currently +50% weeds. I have been calling and emailing monthly since last summer to have a manager come look at my yard. I also email photos of my front yard. The call center and customer service reps tell me they can’t do that and push me off to my next scheduled appointment. That’s false as I’ve been begging to have a Mgr come see my lawn. Their guarantee states they will gladly visit my property between scheduled visits to ensure satisfaction.

I’m told each time it may take up to 8-12 weeks to see results and should give it time. When I call them back after 8 weeks to tell them the weeds haven’t even wilted, they tell me I have another appointment on schedule and will tell the tech about the issue (which they don’t). It’s a vicious cycle. Each appointment, I speak to the tech. They are unable to help me and can’t give me a name of anyone in management. But they are all dumbfounded by the amount of weeds they see. They also see my neighbor’s green yards and acknowledge my backyard looks good. I’ve been extremely patient but have reached my limit. I can not recommend this company for any services. I suspect they are watering down their chemicals. Save yourself over $700 a year and do not use Trugreen!! At this time, my only option may be to kill off the entire front yard and start over.

I have experienced the same problem several times with TruGreen over the past two years. I prepay for lawn services to be completed four times throughout the season. There are two main problems: Fraud and Poor Business Practices. They continue to schedule me for services and then take me off the schedule for no reason. Poor business management or lack of employees? Who knows? I was supposed to have pre-emergent weed control done in Mar or April. They just never did it. Here we are in July. I have a large yard full of weeds. I called the company. They promised to send out a technician to treat them (too little, too late). I waited home all afternoon. I was home waiting.

Nobody showed up. But, I got notified via text that the driver "just arrived" and the "service has been complete" (all within one minute, 2:11 and 2:12). He was never there. It then showed in the system that he had performed the services. This time was supposed to be "free", but it cost me a day to be home waiting for him and then hours dealing with Chem Lawn reps. The Customer Service people are international. They follow a script, "I am so sorry for your inconvenience. I will re-schedule an appointment for (some date in the future)."

The tech did this last year and I was charged $135 for the con. Same scenario. I was home waiting for the technician to perform a fertilization service. I received a notification that he had completed the work and received a bill. When I filed a complaint with the company disputing the bill, they said, "The system shows the work was done". When I didn't pay the bill, it was sent to collections. I paid it to preserve my credit.

It is impossible to connect to a local office. All calls are routed through a main Customer Service line overseas. I ended up speaking with someone from Trinidad! I CANNOT call the local office directly or speak with management. They promised to have a manager call me. They never have. When they have shown up in the past, they skimp on the product. They did about half my yard, skipping much of my lawn. They count on homeowners not being home. This is also the way they save money on product and keep the costs down. TruGreen Chem Lawn does not only provide a crappy service, they are dishonest and criminal.

My experience was horrible. It all started with them saying they applied the 1st treatment. Honestly I wouldn't have know that they didn't arrive if I didn't have cameras on my house. After telling them that no one came to do the 1st treatment their excuse was perhaps they went to the wrong address, this is after a lengthy back and forth. I canceled my service with them in May after the incident. Now July I review my credit card statement. There is a charge for $136. After they promise me the account would be closed and the 1st treatment would be credited back. I never check to see if it was at that time because after several phone conversations they advised it was complimentary and I trusted their word. This morning speaking to customer service they only refunded half of the amount they took from me the 2nd time. I am disappointed to say the least. Buyer Beware.

I am writing to voice my displeasure of the condition of my lawn. I am usually very proud of my lawn and landscape around my house. After months of the TruHealth Lawn Plan my lawn is a giant disappointment. The Lawn looks absolutely horrible/dead and is getting worse by the day. My lawn gets the water it needs due to my irrigation system. I have written to this company and expressed my disappointment and have tried to get the necessary attention to my lawn that proves they are committed to the Health Lawn Guarantee. No one has reached out to me yet in regards to this situation.

I would never recommend TruGreen to anyone. I had a contract with them for three years and my lawn looked the worst on the block. After complaining many times, my lawn was not getting any better. The cost for their services was not cheap and I could not understand why they did nothing to alleviate my issue after I complained. I finally terminated my contract with them and asked my lawn guy if he could help resolve the issue I was having with my lawn. Two months ago my lawn guy simply applied a fertilizer and now my lawn is greener than ever. For the first time, I am very proud of my lawn...no thanks to TruGreen.

Rude customer service? Check. Unreliable service? Check. Take your money but won't fix your lawn? Check. IT'S A SCAM - STAY AWAY! Awful experience! The only thing they did well is take my money. From the first session they never came. The scam goes like this: You pay in advance, then their "technician" writes that he was at your lawn, but never comes. You call them, they say they'll send him again, and the cycle continues. After 2-3 times you call to get a refund, and they'll refund you on the REMAINER of your service after charging for the 2-3 times they "came." Do this for enough people, and you have a great scam as a source of income. Not sure how they're still in business. S-T-A-Y A-W-A-Y. I can't stress that enough.

We switched to Trugreen after our go to company for the past 6 years no longer serviced the area. Unfortunately, Trugreen is not comparable. I have had 3 sprays so far and the Mosquitos still swarm you when sitting on the deck. When I called to discuss went to a call center out of state. As I was a current pre paid customer I was advised a message was sent to the local center and they would call me back, no one from the local branch has ever called. A sales rep from the call center did call back to sell me an add on service that she claimed would "help the situation dramatically".

I asked to speak to the local branch for further details as I wanted to understand why it was not working, why I needed an add on service, and what was different between the last company and Truegreen. I was advised that another message was sent to them to have a manager call me....still no call. Very disappointed with the local Branch # 5030 management and the need to add a service because what they advertise as Mosquito Defense does not resolve the actual Mosquito issue by itself.

When I signed up with TruGreen I explained to them about the awful service I had with another, national lawn care company. They assured me their service was guaranteed. One of the problems we have in our yard is moles, so grub treatment is very important. This past week our lawn was scheduled for grub treatment, herbicide, and fertilizer. The tech came out and spent 5 minutes on my .65 acre lot…over 7000 sq feet. We have 4 security cameras and I saw the tech slowly wander around, barely spraying the yard. He left an empty TruGreen door hanging envelope…no service ticket, I called TruGreen customer service and the representative actually was arguing with me about what I saw. I then called a local number and did talked with much nicer person, who did say the tech put down that he was there for only 2 minutes. She rescheduled my service.

I want to speak with a supervisor and I have yet to hear back from them. Grub control was one of my MAJOR concerns and I absolutely did not get what I paid for this with last service. Had I not had video evidence he would have gotten away with it. Also, one thing that is always written on my service tickets by the tech in the past is, “I noticed a lot of weeds in your lawn today.” I’m paying them to clean up the weeds but it NEVER happens. Great observation! Do something about it!! Also it took several weeks to get my soil samples back…several phone calls later, they finally had them and had to come out an extra time to address a deficiency in my lawn. Individually these things are not awful, but collectively shows a pattern of a company that simply does not care about customer service. We are only halfway through the season, I really cannot recommend TruGreen.

This company sells a product called Tru Shield. It is for mosquito defense and tick control. They sell you a service not telling you that they only go around the perimeter of your house and do not actually treat the lawn itself. Later when you question it the person doing the application tells you that it is an upgraded service - doubling your price!! Stay away from this company Customer service also stinks.

I signed a contract for the Mosquito Defense Plan. The salesman said that this would be a monthly service and that I could call in between services if I needed a re-application because the bugs were getting bad again. The in-between services would be free of charge. TruGreen came and made the first application on 4/29/2022.

Mid-May, I sent a chat message on the app asking for a reapplication. The rep assigned told me that she put in the request and I would have a re-application within the week. No re-application occurred. I called the toll-free number that Monday and explained that we did not receive service. They told me service is schedule for every 6 to 8 weeks. I told the rep that I was informed it was every month. The rep said I could call 3 weeks after application and get a re-application and that should get me to every 4 weeks.

This is not what the salesman told me. I again asked for a re-application. The rep said that the schedule was full, but that they put in a message to the local branch (#5678) to fit me in. The re-application should happen within one week. The week came and went. I called again. The rep apologized, offered me a discount on remaining services, told me that there were no appointments available, he made a note for service within 7 days and said they would have the local branch manager call me within 48 hours and I should be on "stand by" for that call. No call whatsoever. I called again today. Surprise - no appointments available but she put in a message to the local branch to call me within 48 hours and for application within 1 week. That will put me at 8 weeks from last application - at this rate, my last application would be in October - when it's snowing.

This company is a scam. They are not following through on promises. No one calls. Is there really a local branch?? If so, this manager has no customer service skills whatsoever. This is not the program that I was sold. It is a complete lie. They promise a re-service and then blatantly ignore the guarantee. I am still waiting for this "call" from the local branch that I doubt will ever come. Every time I call, there are no appointments available. Meanwhile, I dump more money into citronella candles and lawn sprays to try to enjoy my yard.

By the way, this program costs $1,000 for the season. And I still cannot sit in my yard without donating blood. Even if they come out now, that is 8 weeks since my last treatment and I expect I will just have to chase them again to get a service next month - and I fully expect to be told "the schedule is full - I don't know why you keep dropping off their schedule - we will put a note in for the local branch to reservice you within one week".

BEWARE - STAY AWAY! We were a first time customer and signed up for 7 treatments - 1 grub treatment and 6 fertilizer treatments. The first treatment was in mid-April. We didn't hear about the scheduling for the second treatment. We had to call in to confirm the timing, and were told a date in mid-May. That day came and went, no one showed up, and no one called us to apologize/reschedule. We called back. We were then told June 6th. We both explicitly stayed home from work to ask questions about lawn care to the technician. Again, no one showed up. Again we called. We were told "the rep never pressed confirm". We now have a window of June 12-14. Again... no one showed up. Again we called. Again Customer support told us the appointment was never scheduled.

This is now 2 months after the first treatment. No one ever called us pro-actively and we needed to micromanage the entire relationship. We called and got a full refund for the remaining service. They're good at taking your money. They're not good at meeting commitments. As a nationally operating company, I would expect greater organization, more proactive communications, and greater reliability. Only use this service if you'd like disappointment.

I signed up for a service for them to come up seven times the first half off at $27 and the next six at $53 and they kept calling me and bothering me to sign up. They had me under two accounts which took forever to fix and get them to stop calling me. They came out for the first of seven at half price, $27 then came out for the second and charged me for two services, $110 when I only signed up for one at $50. They told me they did two at a time so charged me for two, $110 but I signed up for one at a time not two and should have five left not four. They are dishonest about their services and do not tell you that they combine services and charge you double.

I watched the person that was here and unless he combined chemicals he only went over my lawn spraying one time so I don't know what the two treatments were for. I immediately cancelled their service and will never use TruGreen again. After the first treatment I still had one type of weed growing over half of my lawn so I don't know what they sprayed for the first time. Maybe since it was half of treatment they only sprayed for certain weeds. Do yourself a favor and go with another service, not TruGreen, you will be wasting your money.

He applied and grass looked much better though still some brown spots he said he would plant grass later. Called TruGreen and they confirmed they would make Shelton my specialist but sent out others and now dozens of new brown spots due to new dead grass.

TruGreen Service promised not to kill my flowers just weeds. Yea!! After first spray my plant losses I counted in 30$ and second in 100s. Took me 5 calls trying to cancel service, management kept asking to stay as customer, they will place notes and specialist will be discreet where he sprays. When specialist came he had no clue about my concerns (maybe he is not able to read?) so I walked him around my property and pointed places NOT TO SPRAY, he still did it. Now 10 years old Hardy Hibiscus bushes are curling like weeds, grape vine is dying, countless tulips. WHAT KIND OF POISON THEY ARE PLACING!!!

Two months in a row TruGreen has sent an email saying the technician was on the way, then that the technician was there and then that the technician has completed service. The problem is that they DIDN't even show up and I'm on my front porch the whole time! A friend of mine a mile away has had the same issue. They're claiming they're spraying the lawn but there is no evidence; either signs left in yard, grass is wet or being visible entities. And the lawn still looks horrible. For those of you who trust they're showing up while you're working or out for a while or napping, you're being scammed! There are other reputable and honest companies to provide this service. Don't trust them to actually treat your lawn or even show up!

What started out as great service turned into a nightmare. I hired TruGreen in the summer of 2020, because my previous lawn service/pest control company allowed my lawn to turn into a weed apocalypse then gave me a hard time about it. So I got someone else. And for the remainder of 2020 and for the most part in 2021, TruGreen managed to rehabilitate my very sad lawn. They were responsive, came out to re-treat when asked. They were friendly and answered questions. Life was good. Well, except that unlike 2020, TruGreen did not use TopChoice for the yearly fireant service in July 2021. They used Advion then ignored my question as to why. Mistakes happen, I know, but ignoring the question, and then not making it right? Hm. That really should have been my first clue.

In the fall of 2021, my normally reliable single point of contact said they'd call me with a price for 2022 in mid December 2021. Mid December came and went...and my followup texts and voicemails to them went unanswered. TruGreen was MIA. The call center was perpetual holdfest, notes sent to Customer Service from the web portal were unanswered. This should have been my second hint to GET OUT. When I finally managed to get someone to respond, I got several different prices, a promise of a call back...then more silence. I eventually just pre-paid for my 3 services via my online account because I figured they'd make it right. Silly me. Hope is just another word for denial...

Service didn't actually start until 1/17 and that was my first TruHealth lawn service for 2022. The second was on 3/8. My third TruHealth lawn service was on 4/11. [It's 5/26 as I write this.] And aside from the free re-services for weeds (3/30, 4/18, and 5/9), and the re-treatment for fireants (4/18 and 4/25) --they haven't been back. My lawn, despite supplemental irrigation and a decent amount of rain, isn't growing. It is sickly and yellowish. The only thing that IS growing are the weeds. Neighbors asked me what happened to it.

I don't like phone calls because I prefer having a written record of interactions with vendors -- it keeps things straight. And without a single point of contact this year, I use the online account portal or email to contact CS. And every time I'd send an email to Customer Service I'd eventually get 2 different responses -- sometimes with conflicting or incorrect info. It's also important to note that their response time is at least 3-4 days IF at all. And God help you if you send more than one email. You may get multiple responses that will all contradict each other. By last weekend I'd complained about weeds (AGAIN) and questioned why they hadn't been out to do the regular service since early April and...no response. The service manager, who gave me his contact info when he came out personally to take care of fireants on 4/25, was also non-responsive though he was copied on the email.

Yesterday was the point I decided I'd spent enough time trying to get them to perform as agreed. And I emailed that I wanted to cancel my account and have the remaining portion of my prepay ($650.67) returned to me. I got no response. So I texted the service manager and...he told me to go through the call center. Wow. So I called and managed to get to speak to someone who promised me a refund, but who didn't want to cancel my account before the refund. Oookay. She also said TruGreen would "make it right" first and get the techs out to take care of the fertilizer and the weeds and the fireants at no charge. Okay.

She even emailed me to tell me that the refund was "in process". Cool. Then I logged in to my account and saw that a TruHealth service was scheduled for 6/1. So I emailed her and asked about it. And about details of my refund. And haven't heard back since. I followed up today. Silence. This kind of runaround is probably what you can expect. When it comes right down to it -- TruGreen doesn't give a damn about me, my lawn, or doing the right thing. And if they do it to me, they'll probably do it to you too. I need my $650.67 back. ASAP.

Was on annual plan for 2 years and they killed my grass. Lawn looks better after 6 months of doing it myself. Then, this Spring I ordered a lawn aeration and was told it would be 5-7 days. Never happened. Called and was told 10-12 days. Never happened. It's been over a month and still hasn't happened. This was a $400 job. Called today and canceled. Had the same issues with scheduling when I was on annual program. Horrible service. Do not use!!

I am NOT a customer of TruGreen, but when I got home from vacation and my yard was done by them (their flag in the ground) and part of my yard was now brown, I was a very unhappy non customer. I tried to contact them and talk to someone in a management position, all I could get was a run-around from customer service and them saying they are sorry. If you subscribe to them don't expect that if there is a problem to ever get to talk to the people that can make it right. Based on the pattern in my yard of the brown they don't even do a good job of your entire yard!! I'm just telling it like it is, GOOD LUCK!

I paid for a full year service last year. The service was awful. The lawn was inundated with weeds all season. I cancelled the service for this year. I then received an email stating the tech would be at my home today. I immediately called the service number and refused service. I stated very clearly, I did not want them entering my property or providing service. The call center tech took the info, asked why I didn't wish to continue with their services and said she would be sure to cancel the treatment.

I arrived home today to signs in my yard and a confirmation email of the services they provided today. I was Pissed!! I called the service number again and today's call center rep said there was no record of yesterday's call and that approved the continuation of services by not cancelling then said I had approved it in an email last month. **! If my lawn burns out from being over-fertilized I'll be seeing them in small claims for the funds to replace my lawn with another service provider.

We signed up in January 2021 and prepaid in advance for a year, which is 8 lawn services. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th services I had to call to find out when we were scheduled because a lot of time had gone by. I was told we weren't even scheduled, so the dispatcher went ahead and took care of it while on the phone with her. That was fine. In December 2021, the tech had to come back because I called complaining that he didn't even do our backyard, and the reason I know this, is because our backyard camera never picked up any motion back there.

If he DID go back there, then he only did the HALF that the camera doesn't show. On April 27th 2022, our LAST service, we were both home, so I figured he'd do a thorough job, knowing we were home... NOPE! We watched him spray the upper half of backyard. Ummmm... We paid for the WHOLE front and back yard, why is it okay to just spray the upper half of the back yard? We canceled future services that day. You have to make sure you cancel service, or they will automatically renew you!

This company is a money-stealing FRAUD!!! My husband and I called TruGreen NJ on March 8th because we had ants in the house and wanted treatment for that and for mosquito removal. We stressed to the rep that we were looking to start service asap. He quoted us a price for the summer, it included 5 treatments, and we paid right away for the entire service (we were not given another option). He told us that the company was very big on customer service and that if they sprayed and bugs and mosquitos were back the next day, they would come out the very next day and spray again at no additional charge, etc. Everything sounded awesome.

A few weeks passed and there was no service. We reached out to the rep, who apologized and assured us everything would be taken care of and he would make sure we got service set up immediately. Ok, great. Except, more time passes and still nothing. We called again. This time, the rep claimed that the phone number on our account was incorrect and told us some number we've never heard of. Anyway, he claimed to correct the error and once again promised that we would have service sent to our house within a day or two. No service was ever received, almost 2 months later.

At this point, the rep stopped responding to texts and voicemails. When we called the main line on Thursday, the automated system said we were scheduled for service today, April 25th. I feel it is almost redundant at this point of me to say that this service never happened. We called the main line again. Of course a representative is never available. Now, the line says we are due for service this coming Friday. The only problem is that I don't trust I will ever receive this service anymore. We paid almost $500 and have yet to see anyone come to our house.

I cannot talk to anyone that’s involved with treatment on my yard & I only can talk to customer service representatives & I can only call a 800 number. I just want to speak to a supervisor for my area but that’s impossible. I was late answering a call on Monday & I had no way to contact that person back. They left no voice mail & information that I could return their call. I haven’t received 1 call since the missed call Monday morning. I guess they give you one chance to answer to resolve my issue but want me to give them multiple chances to get it right. I have 3 properties that I am paying for & 2 were gifts 1 to my son & his wife & 1 to my daughter & her husband. They are complaining to me about their yards & how the neighbors that get no treatment looks better than their yard. I have wasted so much money, time, & energy on TruGreen services.

First-year customer with Trugreen, I purchased the lawn care and the mosquito care plans. For the first mosquito service, the service technician stopped by to drop a flag on my property but never delivered service, and of course, they had the audacity to bill me. Called them and canceled the service. For my lawn service, I prepaid for the whole year (Mistake). My lawn is full of weeds, and when I chatted with them online, I was on hold for 15 minutes only to be told we will make sure we address it on the next service (it should've been done on the first service and weed shouldn't get root in my yard...) What a rip-off, stay away, they promise too much and deliver miserable service.

The service guy came, and returned with out servicing. I get an automated message saying unable to service, back yard door locked. First of all the door was not locked just need to push. The other thing how dumb of the person who came not to ring the doorbell, someone was home. The company can send an automated message saying cannot service, but they cannot send a message saying hello, is someone home, or we are unable to service, before the the service guy just walks off with out servicing. Bad first experience, I was thinking of canceling the contract, but I am being patient to see how the year service goes by

After buying my home last fall, I contacted this company to let them know we were NEW owners. In spite of this, last week they came onto my yard and left signs that they had sprayed it. When I called, the customer service person could not find my account (probably because I didn’t have one), and could not tell me what was done. Said he’d check and call back but didn’t. Next day my husband called and got someone who said they used a fertilizer and a “preemergent weed killer”,,, in other words, I’m thinking it’s GLYPHOSATE, a known carcinogen and one we would NEVER approve using on anything. Appalled that they continued the service from previous owners with NO ORDER from us. Now my dog has been sick since they were here. Btw, the company name is incredibly misleading. Since they use glyphosate, they’re anything but true green.

My lawn was in good condition, when I hired this company there was some wild grass starting to pop up. First issue is the inexperienced staff they send out. Second issue is I could see on camera that they didn't service the entire lawn during one of the visit; response was, "We will talk to them" rather than come back out to remediate. Thirdly, I opted for no notification of service beforehand and by doing that they claimed no responsibility for adding a chemical that completely killed all the fescue seed. They should know the fall is the time to seed the grass. Is this not the expertise they are hired to possess? Spoke to management and they would not even pay to reseed. The soil is so bad now and most all the grass gone that I had to invest in installing new sod. Avoid this company. Do not be fooled by the commercials and what seems like a good price. You will pay far more in the end.

The first time they provided service, I watched them on my camera fertilize the house across the street. They went to the wrong house. I brought this to their attention stating this was unacceptable and needed to be corrected. I also alerted the neighbor that they presumably got fertilized. TruGreen returned a week later for a “free” service. To make it right. We have 3/4 acre of lawn. They not only purposely ignored over 1/2 of the lawn, they also NEVER went back to the truck to refill their spreader. My cameras showed an empty spreader for 90% of the time they were spreading. Furthermore, my cameras have him starting the job at 12:29 and finished, back to the truck, at 12:35. Six minutes to fertilize 3/4 acres. No spreader refills and intentionally neglecting more than 1/2 of our lawn (with a fake empty spreader). These people are the most dishonest service providers I have ever worked with.

I have unfortunately used Tru Green for about 3 years now. I first used them for lawn care, they aerated my lawn and ripped it to shreds including ripping my landscaping lights out of the ground. After calling their customer service department countless times they never sent anyone to fix the problem or did any follow up at all, just completely dismissed the issue even though the tech that did it , reported it to them while at my house. I was stuck with fixing the issue myself at my own expense.

I also this year had a new tech come for my tree and shrub service I stupidly kept, they send new techs almost every couple times, whatever they sprayed has killed my 15 year old evergreens and all my Azalea bushes, nice!!! I have been calling customer service for 2 weeks now , they have promised 6 times now someone from the local office will call me, they never do, same as last time. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL BE SORRY.!!!

Last year we had treatment for bugs in the lawn. The next day, the grass started to turn brown. I put the sprinklers on and the water would not absorb because the ground was like cement, just laid on top. Despite numerous calls to local and regional TruGreen, I was told to call the main office. I did that and they said somebody would come out, and nobody did. I kept calling every few days and then they ghosted me. Our yard is still without grass or vegetation. TruGreen says they guarantee that you are satisfied or they will 'make it right'. When they did not respond, after a month and a half, I reversed the charges. Now they have put it into a collection agency. On Feb 3 I finally reached a man at TruGreen, named Matt. He assured me they would resolve the collection issue, but they have not done so.

I used their lawn service last year, was beyond dissatisfied, my lawn looked worse at the end of summer than before. I'm retired so I witnessed a few times that they came, mostly sat in their truck then made two or three quick passes, spent maybe two minutes in the application put out the signs and left. I jumped through all these hoops to cancel at the end of summer, well here they were yesterday, unannounced, made an application and charged my debit card. I called and was told that my card would not be charged, that I would receive a bill and would give me a discount. Not true, there is a full charge on my debit card this morning. This seems to be their method of operation, many unhappy customers.

Started with TruGreen mid summer 2020. I liked the updates and what was done with the lawn. Winter of 2020/21, I start getting invoices. Call customer service. Very polite people, definitely working the upsell though. The invoice was over $800. I paid $300 the previous year. I talked with the rep for roughly an hour to get the invoicing straightened out and also got the price dropped to $350. Same thing this year. $800+ invoice. I call again. Waste an hour of my life with their CSA who has to talk with a manager about authorizing a price. This time they wouldn't budge. Sorry, you need to be competitive with other lawn care services as well as the homeowner doing it himself. Which is what I'll be doing.

My experience with this company has been most frustrating. Depending upon the tech which they send out you can get honest and dependable service. Yesterday's service was more typical. I get a call from Trudy that they will do two services the next day...tree fertilization and horticultural oil. I'm home on the day they arrive so decide the watch the techs in action. The first tech shows up for tree fertilization, and the guy is a geezer just like me and it looks like he's going to die carrying around that hose. I have an acre yard with a lot of trees and after about five minutes in the back yard, looks at the remainder of the 15 trees in the back yard, gasps, and just decides not to do it. Also misses the one tree in distress in my front yard. Takes off about 25 minutes after arriving, at least half of which is rolling up the hose and writing the service ticket.

I then get a call from Trudy saying that Joseph has cancelled my second treatment the horticultural oil treatment because of "weather conditions" and will reschedule. Nonetheless at 345 the same day, a Friday afternoon, I see one of their techs rolling into my driveway (ignoring the no trucks sign) and it's Joseph, another senior citizen who should retire, or as I like to call him "Quick Draw" who I've mentioned to the company before, and specifically telling them I did not want this guy on my property. His specialty is spending as little time as possible doing the actual job and spending as much time sitting in his truck checking his mobile phone. He points his sprayer in the general direction of his targets, hitting some, missing most. His printer is always broken and never leaves a ticket. Alas, he "services" my one acre property in his usual 8 minute treatment and then retreats to the truck to check the cell phone.

After reviewing the comments on this site I now believe that this company is nothing more than slick marketing (PGA Tour marketing, etc.) which beguiles its customers into thinking they are getting something they can trust. Now I feel I have to watch them like a hawk to avoid being ripped off. A service manager is supposed to contact me, but the problem is bigger than that I fear.

We are so frustrated and feel completely disrespected by this company. My husband has been asking for a solution for the past 6 months. After multiple, admitted errors on their part (in writing and by phone), our lawn has continued to be a disgusting dirt patch. After they killed everything in our yard, we had to pay a different professional to have our yard re-seeded. My husband called to inform True Green and shared specific instructions (e.g. not to spray pre-emergent) and they have sprayed it multiple times since then, which stopped the new grass seed from taking/growing.

Each time, the person looking in the system acknowledged that these notes were captured on our account! Most recently, my husband gave them additional chances to remediate the situation (something they claimed to be working on) because we were in a time crunch and selling our house. We did not receive any solution or even an explanation as to why they were unable to assist. The focus of our battle will now solely be on getting reimbursed for the money we’ve spent servicing our own lawn, since our actual lawn servicing company has refused to help! We will make it very clear to all perspective buyers that the state of the lawn is due to these admitted errors by Tru Green.

Also, in closing, here are a couple things we’ve learned: 1-When you call the main customer service line and they finally agree to have a supervisor/manager contact you, they will not provide a direct call back number should you miss the call. The whole process starts back over. It is the equivalent of calling in to a cable company and having to start over every time.

2-the people that come out to complete the service seem not to have any access to the notes in the system! My husband has ran out to greet and check in with the last couple technicians only to find that their order was completely different than what was decided over the phone. One time, they told us they would be sending a manager to discuss next steps/ways to fix it, and they just sent a regular tech out who immediately began spraying without knocking on the door because he obviously had no knowledge of what was “scheduled” on the phone. He stopped as soon as my husband came out and explained the situation and apologized for the miscommunication. This is never their fault; the techs are usually so nice and understanding, but the company literally sets them up for failure due to their ineffective system. Overall, we are so upset that this company has added so much stress to an already stressful period of time.

TruGreen serviced my home in two different locations and while providing services in CT they attempted to seed my yard in 100 degree weather. I tried to stop it with no success. When I complained I was charged (twice), blamed, and for over 8-months I have tried to resolve the billing. I canceled the services and was contacted with a very rude person. I received a call from TruGreen corporate telling me they would finally credit me and they apologize; then another call a few days later telling me that they didn't make any billing or service mistakes and would not be credited. I have showed bank statements, documented conversation and still this nonsense. I have contacted the BBB and soon legal counsel. I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS UNPROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION.

Every time I called (5 different times) the person would log the complaint and say they would send someone out to do it for me "this time". Would never show up but message me that the "tech has arrived" and "_____ has completed your lawn treatment." I canceled due to this never ending issue. A year later they call me back up wanting to make it up to me and did the EXACT SAME THING. DO NOT EVER GO WITH THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY!!

This year I wanted to get professional help with my yard since the last couple of years my lawn wasn’t looking so great. I decided to go with the True Green True/Complete Lawn Service. They said the first service is 50% off. They also said the aeration was a separate service. 2 days after signing up they scheduled 2 visits for one day. I have cameras installed around the whole house. In the morning, the technician performed the aeration. It seemed ok but I wish he hit the small part of grass on the other side of my driveway. I was good with the service though.

Later in the afternoon a technician arrived and I monitored while they took 2-3 minutes with a spreader for both front and back yard. I really did not feel confident about the quick trip around the front and back. The technician was at my house probably for a total of 10 minutes but about 3-4 of them was outside of the truck. Then I got 3 invoices. 1 for aeration, 1 for potash service using a spreader, and 1 for the true complete service using the spray with what I’m guessing is fertilizer and pesticide.

Well, as you can read, I did not see any type of spraying being done. I called and they tried telling me I received 3 services today. I literally have it all on camera that the afternoon technician only used a spreader for about 3 minutes and left. They ended up setting up the spray service 2 days later. They called it “free service.” How in the world is it free service when they already charged me for something they didn’t do. Also the promotion is 50% off for the first service but on the very first day they provided 3 separate services which ended up being around $230.

The aeration was about $150 and you only get 50% off of one of the other services. That was very sneaking of them but if that’s how they do business, ok then. The point is if I didn’t have cameras I would have never caught them charging me for a service that they did not do. So now that I read a bunch of other reviews with similar stories, it is not a lie. I’m off to a really bad start with True Green. I have 7 more services this year. Hopefully they can turn it around but my first impression of them is not good at all and I am already regretting the move to use a lawn service this year.

People it’s almost spring time, DO NOT attempt to call TruGreen. You will be so disappointed, they will keep coming unannounced and don’t do the job, just sit in the truck and leave a sign in your yard. I have seen them on my CPI camera and neighbors have witnessed also. They will say they’ve down your front and back yard when they don’t go around the back. Every time you call for a manager, they say the manager will give you a call but never do. DO NOT go with trugreen!!!

I had my tree and shrubs application done by TruGreen on 12/10/21, few days later my shrubs discolored and then died, after multiple calls a tech was sent, he stated it was not due to the application. But I have had previous service and nothing happened to my shrubs. Fast forward 1/11/22, tree and shrubs application was done and now rest of my shrubs are discolored and appear to be dying the rest that was not affected with the December treatment. I have called multiple times to speak to trugreen regarding my dissatisfaction. Please be careful with this company.

I received a text stating that the technician had arrived at my residence. My wife was home and I told her to watch them because they are known for not doing any work. I also watched through my Ring camera as the truck was parked in front of my home for about 6 minutes when I received another text that the work was completed. I watched the technician as he got out of his truck and placed a sign in my yard. Then he got in the truck and drove away. I then received a 2 page report of all the work that was done to my yard. It's amazing that he did all of that and never left his truck! Really gifted technicians with super powers. Don't they know this is the age of cameras? LOL.

I hired Trugreen to fertilize three of my customers' lawns (I own a lawn care biz). They did not service my customers' lawns in a timely manner at all. Then, to make matters worse, the commercial person in charge at my local office (Springboro Ohio) lied to me several times about this issue. I then went over his head and the general manager was just as bad. They don't care about their customers at all. All they care about is making money. Don't hire them.

I work from home and watch the TruGreen "specialists" when they are supposed to be treating the lawn which is in the back and the front of the house, as well as a small side portion. There have been times that the specialist never leaves their truck except to put a notification on my door. Some of the specialists walk to the back of the house and spray in one small area. They are not treating the grass with as much fertilizer as they are stating on their invoice.

TruGreen is a complete waste of money. We bought a house last year and pre-paid for a season of Tree + Shrub service and the TruHealth Lawn Plan. They came but it honestly looks like nothing is ever done. They spray the yard and everything looks exactly the same. We still have weeds. They won't let you cancel online and make you talk to someone. Whenever anyone calls they call from a 1-800 # so you can never get ahold of your sales rep directly. This business is terrible and I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone I know.

This was the worst experience we had so far. We were promised and paid for the complete lawn care which is almost $800. The first treatment was a fertilizer and something that was supposed to make some changes to our lawn and remove the weed, but it exactly did the opposite and we have more weed now. Then they came for overseeding and aeration, we accidentally noticed that they are not going to overseed because they don't have Bermuda seed at all. They didn't tell us that when they wanted to charge the complete money. Their specialist said, "You go buy the seed yourself and apply it to your lawn yourself." We want our money back but when we called and asked for a manager they didn't escalate us and promised us a call from a manager. We received a call from a help desk again but they didn't put a manager online to respond. This is fraud. They will not give you the service they promised and they are not responsive.

Spoke to Yolanda to cancel our service. She was nice at first. However now she is telling us what the company "can't do" for us and there is no one higher than her to speak to or email. TruGreen has used chemicals that have ruined our lawn. We have called on these issues prior and the last time, a gentleman came out from Fellsmere on his day off and he admitted TruGreen was using chemicals on our lawn that ruins it and burns it. TruGreen always comes when it rains. We have been told not only by TruGreen's very own landscaper but other landscapers that this should not be happening and the chemicals used are ruining our lawn. The man that was here from Fellsmere said he took pictures and sent them in and made note that the chemicals are indeed ruining our lawn. Not only are we not paying for today's service, we are seeking our money back for each time TruGreen came out after the man from Fellsmere came. This is unacceptable.

Years ago I hired TruGreen for myself and later bought lawn service for a friend, whose husband had passed away. It seemed very simple. I paid for her service, and TG was to treat my friend's lawn. Instead, I entered a billing and notification nightmare and lost countless hours of my life trying to straighten that out. What felt like thousands of calls and lost time, I finally found a fabulous women at the corporate office who was able to eventually fix the billing vs. the actual site of the 2 DIFFERENT addresses of the lawn care sites. Believe me, it was not easy to obtain that information and that was about 7 years ago-now I'm sure it would be IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone in the head offices. I gave them another chance, as the woman had been so helpful. Stupidly, I later deleted her contact info.

Fast forward to last year when their lawn tech failed to diagnose Chinch Bugs in our lawn, and we were told it was our irrigation system. We invested a good amount of money in our irrigation system, changing to larger heads, etc., all the while our lawn continued to die. Once again, many calls later with an impossible system to actually talk to anyone, we finally got someone else to look at our lawn.

The whole thing about TG is if you have a problem, they will return to your property and correct the problem--DO NOT BELIEVE THAT. We learned our lawn tech was no longer working for them, but by then, a good portion of our lawn was completely dead. What seemed like a gazillion calls and hours later, no call backs, being on hold, leaving messages, they came and reseeded our lawn but and I had to lose another portion of my life calling TruGreen to ensure that our lawn would be treated for Chinch bugs at no cost, all the while, our lawn looked like crap.

This past spring I lost several more hours of my life calling TG to adjust my billing. Then this year, with Covid Restrictions opening up, my husband and I were out of town a good portion of the summer but either came home to water or had our sprinkler system on. I assumed TG was tending our lawn during this time. Then, over a month or so ago, (August) portions of our lawn began dying off. I thought we may have Chinch bugs again. Around the same time I got an overdue bill from TG for $137.00. I called and asked them to send an itemized bill, as I had no idea what the $137.00 was for. I was told I now had paperless billing. I never received a bill. I then got a letter from TG saying they were turning me over to a collection agency. I thought my head would explode.

I called TG to learn that they had signed me up for paperless billing, which I had no idea they had done and never agreed to. I pay my bills as soon as I receive them and this made me crazy. I had always prepaid TG except for the years their billing was so bad that I paid by check with each service rendered, in order to make sure it was accurate.. I called TG and spoke to someone named Chris that told me my account had been closed for non-payment, so they couldn't send anyone out to look at my dying lawn. I explained I had excellent credit and that the reason I hadn't paid my bill was that I NEVER received a bill and STILL had not, despite the fact, that I had requested a copy of the itemized bill.

I told him I had paid the $137.00 to avoid TG totally ruining my excellent credit record. He said they had received the payment but because I had been turned over to the credit agency, I was a credit risk and I would have to PRE PAY and open up a new account. What EVER you do-save yourself countless hours of grief and find someone else. Life is for living and you will want to explode if you hire this corporate nightmare of a company-think of a Guinea Pig in a wheel. That is what it feels like to be a TG customer....except you are screaming.

The first treatment was great. I met the Tech and he seemed very knowledgeable. Then after that it all went south. I received bills where the truck stopped out front of my house then bang I get a text "your service was complete" and he drives off without getting out of the truck. Come on who are you trying to fool? Everyone has cameras. I have witness them stopping and writing a bill and leaving more than once. I witness them stopping and spraying a small area of my yard then leaving in less than 10 minutes. I live in Adams County Pennsylvania and the service here is questionable. Yes after many complaints about leaving without doing a service, they do eventually come out and they do service your lawn but you have to watch them like a hawk. Oddly enough I still haven't canceled but once I find a competitor that can provide quality service I most likely will.

Worst customer service experience ever. I was hung up while obtaining a quote and threw their flyer in the trash. I received a call back from a different representative that apologized and heard me out, most companies don’t care enough to try to save a customer but I would have been better off. After explaining my needs - my lawn died in some areas due to sprinkler failure and that I was capable of maintaining my lawn, I just needed help bringing these dead patches back to life - and $450 later, I was excited to see my lawn that had several dead patches come back to life.

Every time a service was made or an interaction on the phone was made, everyone at TruGreen seemed to be confused about what was sold to me and what they needed to do. I was then called about scheduling aeration services which I then explained again that my back lawn was only 3 months old. Wouldn’t need it. After realizing my front lawn may be included in that service, I called back inquiry about them doing aeration on the front lawn only, especially since I was sold it and told that it was part of my package - the whole reason they were calling me in the first place. So I called back and got Jadeelia from TruGreen on the phone. She was pleasant enough and explained that the aeration was cancelled and so if I wanted the front lawn done, it would be an additional $200.

Confused, I asked why they would be calling me to schedule a service that wasn’t included in my service package and she then explained it was never part of it in the first place. I then attempted to explain that the services they have provided weren’t helping at all and she then kept talking over me and interrupted saying that they don’t help bring dead grass back to life, they only help the soil the maintain an already established lawn and it would only help with weeds. Not reviving my grass, ironically I was sold the “revival plan”.

After inquiry why I was sold this bill of goods, she then interrupted me again, speaking over me before I was finish. I then got upset and said loudly (so she could hear me over her own voice) that “I am not done speaking, do you always talk over your customers when they’re trying to explain an issue to you?!” In which she replied, “are you always a rude person?” I responded, “me pointing out that you speaking over me and interrupting me while I’m explaining a concern is rude of me??” I promptly asked to speak to a supervisor in which she said she’d have to see if the manager wanted to speak with me.

After a minute, she came back on the line and said that her manager didn’t want to speak with me because she was busy doing paper work. I then started to explain what had happened from being hung up, to being sold a package that didn’t fit my needs and once again, talking over me, Jadeelia from TruGreen “that’s not my fault.” I then replied, “I’m not saying it’s your fault, I’m trying to explain my experience with TruGreen from a customer point of view, do you not care?” She said “I do care but that’s not my fault.” I said, "Forget it and give me a refund." Do not use this company. It is the worst company you could ever deal with. Save your money for someone that cares about their customers. What a terrible experience. Wish I could give less than one star.

Trugreen's preemergent weed treatment appointment was due on August 20, 2021. They came and fertilized my yard instead. I called and requested the preemergent weed treatment. Appointment was made. They never came. They claimed that a pet scared them away. I told them I don't own a pet. I made another preemergent weed treatment appointment. I called the at 9AM morning of appointment. I was told 2 hours. They continued to tell me two hours until 5PM.

Finally, a Trugreen man arrived. He told me that he could NOT treat for preemergent because he ran out of chemical. He asked if I wanted my lawn fertilized. I told him no thank you. He said, "I'll be here tomorrow and I'll apply preemergent." He never showed. I made another appointment. I call at 9AM morning of treatment appointment. They told me one hour. Later they said between 11AM-1PM. At 2PM they said later today. They never showed. Will appointment 6 be a waste of time again? Updates coming..

I was signed up with another lawn care service that sold/merged with TruGreen. No notification - one day TruGreen just started showing up. Since then, my backyard is completely dead! The other provider did a nice job! They had eliminated most of the weeds and the backyard was getting thick and green. Now I have dead thatch all over the place and when I rake it I get bald spots. I called to schedule an appointment for someone to come out and they told me they can't schedule an appointment. Then I ask to speak with a manager or supervisor and they tell me I can only speak with them. I have no idea what I'm being billed. My grass is dead....and no one will call me to discuss this. Do yourself a favor - just buy Scott's and do it yourself!

On my last service they said they spread granulated pot ash with a spreader. Cameras show that is a lie. They are thieves.

TruGreen sales department was clearly very aggressive, but that was the only thing they were clear about. We could not get an accurate breakdown of the cost of services in their packages. We have mud, NOT GRASS in our backyard, and we hired them to replace the mud with grass. It turns out, they billed us for expensive weed treatment...on our MUD. Laying seed and growing grass will now apparently cost extra. We discovered this when they told us a technician visited the property while we were gone, but no one can confirm they sent one, and even if they had the technician would be treating non-existing weeds. TruGreen came to my house around 1:30pm when I heard the truck. I looked at him from my window. He sat in his vehicle for about 3 min then came out, walked to the back of my yard, then walked back and left a card on my door. I thought he forgot something in his vehicle when I saw him going back towards his vehicle, instead he left. Guess he treated my lawn with his mind? I’m so angry with this scammy company who portrays themselves as professionals. I am hoping to get back my money!

I was forced to use this company when my old company decided to merge. TruGreen is horrible, they did not service my lawn as expected and told me the spray was enough, what a joke. The tech sat in his truck 30 min before doing anything and then wrote on the invoice he spent 30 min on my lawn... Very disappointed, please choose a company that is within your area. Choose a small business that actually cares. TruGreen does not.

Their guarantee is they "will gladly visit your property as often as needed between scheduled visits...to ensure your satisfaction." Well, they don't. My lawn looks worse than before they started their service. I called 6 times and received promises each time that someone would come and spray for weeds. Six times they cancelled. When you call, they promise it will be fixed but after 6 times, I cancelled the contract. Customer Service makes promises but if the branch does not follow through, their guarantee is useless. Try someone else.

Hello: I prepaid Tru Green over $2000.00 for their services of fertilization, weed killer and grub killer. They said they had spread fertilizer and grub control, they left sign on door that said they put up flags, none were ever placed. I have a 1/2 acre lot and the time stamp said they were here 15 minutes. I got up early and waited and heard no equipment and they did not knock on my door to say they were there, they were supposed to Text me and e-mail me and it was never done. Neighbor said they just sat in truck and put the sign on the door.

After 15 days not one weed had even wilted. I saw no sign of any chemicals on my lawn. They said they would come back but never did. The tree service was worse. I have 14 trees and over 30 bushes. They did not contact me even though I called a few days before to tell them to text me and e-mail me with time that they will be here and also told them to ring the bell and knock on the door. There was a sign that said they were there, they stayed 12 minutes, my neighbor told me that they did not see them do anything. They left me a handwritten note that said printer broken so no timestamp. Made excuses that he was not licensed to do ornamental or flowering trees. No one ever said that.

No sign of any chemicals and all leaves and bushes had no moisture on them from spraying. I was outside and neighbor was outside and he said he saw them do nothing. Do not trust them, now I have to try and get all of my Money Back. I filed a fraud case with my Bank to refund my prepaid $$$ 3500.00 I would not trust them ever again.

Until this year I typically bought my own four step products to fertilize and control weeds on my yard but often have difficulty with crabgrass. I contacted TruGreen and told them of my problem with the weed. My yard looks terrible this year. I contacted TruGreen and told them that the crabgrass was growing all over the yard. They send out a tech to spray the yard and it looks no better. I could not figure out what I was paying them for. The grass is nice and green this year but the the weeds are no less than years past. I ended up firing them and will look for a different service.

I had 2 properties contracted for weed control with TruGreen. One in Ottawa & the other one in Barrie, Ontario. I cancelled the service one after the other due to the same inadequate service and for arrogant company policy. I contracted Ottawa property for Front yard lawn and Backyard Weed control. They never did the back yard with lame excuse; such as: dog, door was closed and we do not service areas full of stones.. Though, they kept on billing me and insisted on settlement, so, I paid 75% of the contract for Both properties. At the end they recommended a different type of service with extra cost... So, I cancelled.

Similarly for Barrie property. For 2 consecutive months they did not show up, though account was 75% settled. But they insisted that one application is not paid for yet. Weeds kept on growing and they never showed up. So, I cancelled.

So I rarely post reviews positive or negative but today is an exception. I would advise to never sign up for TruGreen service. I thought canceling cable service was difficult but they have nothing on TruGreen. Tried canceling my service on 5 different occasions. On the phone a total of approximately 3 hours the last few months. Every time they tell me service has been cancelled and every time I get a voicemail a couple of weeks later saying that I have a service scheduled. Each time I call and they all say there is no record of me calling to cancel. A supervisor is never available. An email of my cancellation can’t be sent. So this time I had had enough and have warned them that I will not call again but if their technician shows up they are not allowed on my property, they will be trespassing and I will call the police. Avoid TruGreen.

UTTER SCAM. They said they came on my first service with them for a mosquito problem but I couldn't figure out how because our little dog would've gone bananas if he saw someone out in our back yard (and he doesn't miss a bird whizzing by). But I called and they assured me someone came. Fine. Two days later, I'm getting mauled by mosquitos. So I tried to get customer service on the phone. Holy nightmare. Finally I got someone and she said they'd have someone out in 10 days. No one. So I called again. Set the service up for Thursday. So Thursday I put a note on the back gate with giant letter saying TRUGREEN PLEASE CALL WHEN YOU GET HERE (and included my cell). And I put the note over the latch so you couldn't miss it. But I didn't stop there.

I put our little pooch in the kitchen that faces the backyard. And I sat and waited. A Trugreen technician called and said he was here and was about to service the yard and I told him I was here but didn't see him. The phone hung up. And I called him back several times - straight to VM. I'm so ticked they wasted hours and hours of me waiting and calling, etc. Please heed my advice and use someone else. Anyone else.

Please, please, please do not waste your time and/or money on doing business with TruGreen. You are guaranteed to be at least disappointed if not completely dissatisfied. When I hired TruGreen there were some weeds in my lawn and I wanted them to completely maintain my yard with fertilizer as well as with pest control. Over the course of about ten months many of the weeds were gone and the grass began to thicken until about three weeks ago after a treatment. At first there were small patches of brown and when I brought it to their attention the first tech said it was due to drought intolerance (after almost a month of rain everyday). The second guy said it was pest infestation. The third guy said that they both were wrong.

Each time they treated my grass differently and now most of my lawn is dead and weeds are beginning to take over. I wanted to speak to a manager and it took over a week to get a call back from a blocked number and then I'm back in the rotation of waiting. Now I've got to re-sod before I put the house on the market which means more out of pocket. The last tech said "it looks like you got a hot load". Which means that it was completely their fault for applying chemicals from a tank that had been sitting in the sun all day and it destroyed my lawn. STAY AWAY FROM TRUGREEN!!!! If it were possible my true rating would be -5!!!

My lawn was in much better shape before TruGreen started its treatment. I don't know what they apply to the grass? Whatever it is it's not working. Maybe they just don't apply the right amount? I have almost one acre of land, it takes the technician no more than 8 minutes to apply their chemicals. I constantly had to call the main office and complain about their service. The technician which comes to perform services has no idea about the lawn service. However, TruGreen will call their technician's lawn specialists. Every time I asked the technician a question, his response was, "I don't know I was told to do that." I stop my services with them and will never render any services from TruGreen. Be careful, TruGreen will renew your service automatically at the end of the year without any communication and will send you a bill.

Last year we contracted with Tru Green and were given a one year guarantee. Since that fateful day they have missed 3 appointments and not made them up, done an aeration on our lawn and cut the internet, done very little to reseed during the fall as promised, and in the past two months we have seen our weeds completely take over our one year old lawn. I have called several times to complain only to be told that a manager will contact me (still no call back). To add icing on this they are trying to charge my credit card without my authorization. If you are looking for a lawn care service save yourself a lot of headaches and go with someone else because these people are not professional and do not care about people or their lawn.

Avoid this service! When they sell you the service a Trugreen rep tells you that if you need your yard retreated, you can call in between services and have multiple free reservices... this is not honest. After your treatment they tell you to wait 2 weeks before requesting... then when you request the retreat they schedule a service for you... what they don't tell you is that they are scheduling your next billable service so you will be charged for that retreat. Then when you call them on it, they tell you that you can only request a free reservice if your next service isn't already scheduled. LLLOOOONNNGGGG hold times to actually talk to anybody. Rude Chat reps... all in addition to the fact that I have had the service for a full season with no improvement in grass/weeds.

Absolutely horrible. I can't even believe this company continues to function. I had to prepay an entire year....and had to wait over a month to just get anyone to follow up with me. I had to cancel and get a refund - and I have waited over a month to get any updates....Sadly I'M STILL without a refund. As far as I'm concerned- TruGreen just stole my money. I'd never recommend them to anyone. The sheer incompetence being demonstrated is astounding. It appears they can't even refund $$ back to a card! They have to "send a paper check"....Sheez....

I've had Trugreen Trushield and mosquito service for a 2 months now. I bought their 4 month prepaid service. First, I have to call them back on a weekly/bi-weekly basis because the ants and mosquitos keep coming back. Every time they come, it's a different person, if I'm not home, they don't come in the backyard eventing I leave the gate unlocked and cracked open. Ok, I try to be home when they come and each time, walk the new guy through my property and instruct them NOT to spray my flowers because I have slot of beds, burglar and hummingbirds.

This week, a new guy shows up, same exercise. Walked him through my backyard, which is big, I have a 16,000 sq.ft. lot. This time, I had to do some stuff inside so I didn't watch everything he did. Next day, I noticed all of my flowers wilting, within 3 days, ALL of my flowers were gone... wilted away, some of my plants look like they're not going to make it as well. I had beautiful Periwinkles, Black eyed Susan's, roses, flowing succulents, Daffodils, lily's, masonic, just to name a few, even my 30 year old bougainvillea blooms are dead.

I'm beyond upset, I called in and was told a manager would come out within 24 hours, nothing, I called back, after the third time calling, a customer service representative called me and naively advised me of lying... Said, "we did 80 homes this week and no one else said we killed their flowers"... That really upset me, then, she said they would send a manager out within a week... Anyway, that's where I am, I decided I needed to water my plants down, but the damage is done.

I'm going to cancel my service, ask for a refund of the unused services and tell the world about my experience. Not sure what I can do other than never letting these knuckleheads in my yard again. Don't trust them, don't use them! I'll update my review as I go through the rest of this process.

We hired TruGreen to do Mosquito Defense and Lawn Service, each item two times. Their service is horribly bad. We ask for full refund, but they claimed that completed service cannot be refunded. Following is the evidence of their “completed” service. Mosquito Defense: Our yard is 14,000 sq. ft., and it only took them 9 minutes to finish the whole mosquito defense + TruShield process, is that even possible?

My wife and I only did one hour gardening work last weekend, and we had many severe mosquito/insect bites everywhere on our arms, back, legs (see pictures below). The situation is so bad that my wife has to go to see the doctors for a prescription. I will post the doctor visit and prescription bills later when available. Their pest control is obviously a complete disaster. Lawn Service. Again, it took them average 13 min to do a “complete” lawn service for our 14000 sq. ft. yard, what a joke! After their over one-month lawn service, the weed is still EVERYWHERE in our yard, see picture below. What a ridiculously unprofessional scam company!
