    I signed up with Trugreen to get sprayed for mosquitoes and gnats because we were having an event, gender reveal, and they made big promises that they would be able to be here in a quick hurry and sent us a text, said where they were at which was less than 15 minutes away and they would be here soon and this was about 1:30 - 2 o’clock in the afternoon and then just boom all of a sudden said, "Your appointment is canceled" and this was Friday so there was nothing. I called them and they said, "We have somebody out there today and get it taken care of." Well 5 o’clock came, nobody was there and I knew that after 5 o’clock nobody would be there and I was right!

    And I called three times to make sure I was not getting billed because I knew they had my card number and it took three times to take my card number off their account and they offered me a free service. OK turn down free?? Well, lol free is usually That service that you get that looks like they did something, but it doesn’t really work. Yup that was what it was for me, still mosquitoes And gnats galore Attacking us in the yard!! And my salesman who left me his card and I contacted after my appointment was canceled. Have heard from him. He hasn’t called to check on me and if I got taken care of or how my service went, they don’t follow through and their service doesn’t work.

    Probably one of the worst companies I dealt with. I thought Weed Man was bad but TruGreen is the worst. We have more weeds on our grass this year that we have TruGreen. I’m sorry, but I’ll never use you again again.

    I hired them to get my yard looking good and to get rid of the weeds because in September is mine and my husband 15th year anniversary and we bought our house almost 2 years ago so I wanted the front and back yard to look nice and it’s been almost four months and the weeds look better than any thing, Stop and I have cameras all over my house I have seen him sitting in his truck doing nothing besides getting out to but the thing on the yard and the thing on the door, I call corporate cancel my service.

    Then I get a phone call tell me oh please let me get a senior manager out to talk to you. No one comes or calls, then I get a ton of phone calls cause I shut my card down and they want to bill me for a upcoming service. Nope, then a guy comes to my door for a mid service check up. I was like what. I tell him everything and he was like yea this looks bad, tells me he’s going back to his boss. I tell getting a ton of phone calls. I call I want a big boss no one what’s to talk! Everyone what’s to pass it to the next person and no one wants to talk to me but everyone wants my money! Well you're not getting my money and if I was anyone else I would hire some one else cause this place is a joke!!

    Tru Green did my neighbor's yard and broke all my sprinkler heads. I have spoken to at least 20 different people that say they will pay for them, it has been since April, no check. I believe they are a dishonest company. The check is always in the mail but never arrives.

    I had an annual plan. A major storm destroyed my lawn, so TruGreen could not service me until next season. TruGreen would not give any credit for next season or refund anything. When experiencing the devastating process of recovery from a storm, the last thing I wanted was the cold-hearted treatment and lack of understanding from TruGreen. I would never, ever use TruGreen and I recommend that nobody in their right mind would consider them. Their stupid decision subsequently cost them thousands of dollars in my business.

    A minus minus minus 0 rating. STAY AWAY! All these bad reviews are TRUE. They charged me for a service I was never told or asked about, they put my credit card through for $77 after I told them I wasn't told of this service. Refunded it as an “unauthorized charge,” after very 1st service my 2 yr old sod with an irrigation system has big brown dead spots. I paid that same fee the day before my scheduled guaranteed service as I really wanted my lawn taken care of! I wait 3 days for “guarantee" service, I wait 4 hrs, tracking the TruGreen truck, which sat in one spot almost 2 hrs. I took pics of it as it struck me odd.

    He comes close to the end of the time window, pulls over about 4 streets to the back and right of my house. I live on the corner of my street so not hard to find. I have 5 cameras, a Ring app, a clear glass door. I’m in my driveway (the house also has the same five numbers for an address, it catches everyone’s attention). No one shows yet I get a Your free service is complete! Never was there! LIAR!!!! Yet filled out the 5 same numbers address on my service form. I’m livid. A Tina tells me there was no lie, the wrong lawn was done. Tells me my lawn has C to get brown before it greens up. I have a beautiful thick green lawn, and Miss Tina says (long snarky drawl) “with all due respect ma’am…if your lawn was so wonderful why did leave that company?”

    She asked 3 times and I told her none of her business and what does that have to do with your crappy company. She starts rambling, I’m getting nowhere with her so I hang up. I want my $77 back, refunded to my card for your horrible lack of service, out an out lies, theft of services against me, rude snotty employees. I have hours to write reviews, BBB, maybe the news that hear that does stories on people screwed over by businesses.

    This is the worst customer service from a company I have ever had. They don't have supervisors you can speak to. I bought a year plan for TruGreen to spray my yard every 6-8 weeks in July. They did not show for 4 full months and there was no correspondence whatsoever. They not only did not show, but they also gave me a bill in May. I have organic fruit trees that I asked for them to stay away from. Time after time the grass/weeds under the trees were sprayed. This was very frustrating! My plan was to go until July. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with no supervisor ever calling me back.

    WOW! I am so grateful to those who shared reviews about this company. Something didn’t sit right with me when I started receiving a call every 15 mins while at work as well as someone showing up at my door uninvited! They quoted different prices and even hung up on me when I didn’t want to prepay a random stranger through a text (Tony **) without a contract explaining the services that would be provided. You people must think we are all fools but, alas some are highly educated and refuse to be manipulated by your underhanded selling techniques. For anyone considering doing business with this company BEWARE!

    Prepaid for full year of service in January 2024. Received 1 service even though text messages from their automated system indicate they were at my property 3 separate times. They didn't show up- didn't leave a small flag in the yard, didn't leave a bill/paper on the door, no one showed up in the yard via outdoor camera, dogs did not bark even though they bark at everything. On the phone for hours with 3 separate people trying to get reimbursed for prepaid amount less 1 service that they actually showed up for. Truly one of the most aggravating experiences I've ever had with a comparable service.

    They are the worst. Please stay away if you care about you and your family's health. One of their employee was spraying Chemical Right in front of me. He had mask on, didn’t even care. I canceled my services right away.

    This is my letter to True Green. The TrueGreen service people in general have been very good. However... the company to put it bluntly.. 'sucks'. You send a different service person here for each application and give them no definitive information. My home has 4 lawn areas. The service person comes here not knowing that and only does the two out front. I then must call your national corporate office to get my 'no cost' re-application done. Again knowing there was an issue, you send another truck out yet again with no information. If I hadn't paid you I in advance, I would've 'FIRED YOU' already. Someone from Local Management needs to call me. Not a sales person trying to sell me more services.

    Fell for the full care package was told the bald spots would come back WRONG. They don't let you know what time they are coming so you have to trust they do something. Missed them by 5 minutes, NO sign that they were here & I don't believe they did a thing. The account rep (salesperson) is USELESS! Find a Local Lawn care company & pay a little extra. YOU GET what you pay for in America

    I would not recommend Trugreen to no one, service is horrible. A technician came to my home. My cameras showed him not completely the job which was reported, next thing a manager was supposed to come out to evaluate the lawn...No show, no call, reason forgot 3rd thing a. On 6/18/24 a technician by the name of Anthony sent a message that he was at my property and the service was complete..I was at home all day waiting and again no show but sent a text message he was at my property...I was home and I have camera footage showing no one from Trugreen showed up today. 3 strikes. I'm done with Trugreen. I'll be going to Future Lawn Services.

    Purchased TruMaintenance Lawn Service 7/19/2022. 8 treatments per year. This past year my backyard has looked worse and worse. Weeds everywhere. Today I found out that I have been paying for them to treat my entire yard and they decided to only treat my front yard this past year so I have been paying for a service that was not provided. I would gladly sue them for fraud if I could afford it. I stopped the service and they continued to send people anyway to spray my yard. These people are deceitful and dishonest. They are a big disappointment. My yard looks worse than ever.

    I had my lawn treated three days ago, yesterday we went out and our Grass look like it’s been burnt. Whatever chemicals the young man used burnt our grass. It looks horrible. I’ve been with your company for over a decade and this has never happened before. I’m so disappointed. How can we get our grass back the way it was?

    We signed up with Trugreen at the beginning of last year and from the outset, had trouble receiving calls beforehand from them reagrding next day service (in order to open the side gate to also have the back lawn serviced). After sending emails and speaking to many peolpe last year as well as since the beginning of this season, including the regional manager here in Ottawa, who basically didn't seem to give a ****, we decided that we were going to cancel our service with Trugreen at the end of this season. However, we had the fortune of having a great technician come around this week for our service, who took the time to chat with us, and was so great that we have decided to put of our final decision until the end of this season. Thanks Sarmer ** for your dedication to your customers and we hope that Trugreen keeps on and hires more really competent and dedicated personnel like you in the future!

    I called to inquire about the mosquito spray and after talking to the salesperson I decided I wanted to try it and I also added on the spray for ticks, etc. What I was told on the phone vs what the technician stated was 2 different things. I called customer service that was not helpful and the follow up call from someone who handles these issues. Basically they said they were only spraying my front yard when they arrived. When I spoke to the salesman I told him my focus was on the backyard as we mainly hangout in the backyard. The tech did treat the full area but told my mother that I should have specified I wanted my backyard treated. Which I did specifically ask about my backyard. Salesman just told me what I wanted to hear.

    I have just completed my 5th out of 7 lawn treatments for weed control. I called them after waiting and few weeks and had them come spray again because they had missed so many of the weeds with the first treatment. As time went on, another month or so I decided to treat the weeds with some weed control products I already had that I purchased from Walmart. A couple of weeks passed and those were dying. I still had a lot more untreated weeds of which crabgrass was one in particular that I had told them I wanted gone when I signed up. I just spent another $106.00 on Torocity to treat the remaining weeds myself with two more treatments to go. I gave them a chance and they totally failed based on my experience and expectations.

    For the money, $79.00 for each treatment of seven treatments, I could have done much more with the money myself. I could have gotten rid of the weeds and controlled new growth while seeding my lawn and using weed and feed for the same money. Bottom line is, I wasted $553.00 that could have given me a nice looking lawn by doing it myself. I should not have let them talk me into any service and I never will again!

    I signed up for a prepaid lawn care service to include lime, weed control and fertilizer. My first application I received these products. I received a few more fertilizer applications and I noticed my weeds were out of control, so I reviewed my invoices and noticed I hadn’t received any weed control. I called and my call was escalated to an operations manager. I was promised three free services to include fertilizer and weed control. I was promised a preferred technician. My last treatment included three different technicians with three different products. I called and complained and spoke to a very unfriendly ’supervisor’. I sent emails complaining about her. I finally received a call back regarding my interaction and they left a message. I didn’t return the call because I’m over this company. Just want my last two free services and be done.

    A technician came out yesterday for Lyme service. I was not told I would be charged and thought it was part of my free services. I also thought it silly he was the third technician this week to come out. He said he was new and just followed the schedule. I messaged TruGreen and communicated with a live agent and asked for my service to be cancelled after my two free upcoming applications. I was told I cannot pre cancel. I reiterated that I do not give permission to charge my card and I that I was unable to remove my card from their account. I was again told to call after. This morning my account is wiped of its two free services and I was charged for an application. This company is terrible and fraudulent. Do not sign up!!

    Terrible service. Poor communications, sent me a notice that they were coming to fertilize but never showed up then said they were coming the next day. Showed up but ran out of fertilizer and couldn't spray my lawn. Took off and never heard from anyone, I tried to call but got someone from out of state and she said there is no one to call in Michigan. Never again. Poor management.

    I have given this company 2 different chances to make it right by their service they offered. Unfortunately they haven’t done anything about it. No one showed up for the services or treatment of my yard. All they say is, "Sorry for your experience" and no one from management will come and take care of it. I have canceled my contract with them and it was a waste of money.

    I was very satisfied with the results in my front yard. I paid for one year in full but after that I called to cancel the service. Then is when the nightmare started. I called in April to discontinue the service, but after 2 months I noticed two charges for every month, that I haven’t noticed, I called back right away, to let them know that I don’t want their service anymore, once again. But first I called my credit card company to stop payments to TRUGREEN, from then on, because I had to pay for the 2 unauthorized payments. But after this they showed up again at my house, and called me trying to get the payment. At this point I don’t know if there’s no good communication between them or what. But the last person that I talked to, she told me her first name is Ariel, refused to give me her last, was so rude, that she hang up on me. Terrible costumer service!!! I wanted to go back to them eventually, but at this point there’s no way I would.

    I was in need of True Green for my Lawn needs... I responded to a Facebook ad and I received a quote, I thought it was very high, so I checked with other companies and found a better rate for more service... True Green called me back as a follow-up call and I told them of my decision...the person became very rude and disrespectful... They said, "I hope you don't lose your lawn!!!" And hung up on me!! I have received at least 5 more calls from representatives. I asked to be taken off of their call list. Rude employees/ high prices for service. Beware consumers.

    This company is run by idiots. In March they said they were going to aerate. They didn’t get to it until May. I have bald spots all over my lawn. When the technician was here, I asked when they were going to reseed. He said they don’t reseed. I called the local branch to confirm, was told that they do, and set up an appointment to have it done 6/4. Nobody showed.

    On the 5th, another technician shows up to aerate, but they’d already done that two weeks before. I asked him when they were going to reseed and was told for a second time they don’t do that. I called again, and this time I was told they don’t reseed. When I asked why I was told they did the first time, the only answer I got was, “I don’t know why you were told that.” I cancelled the service and demanded a refund. It remains to be seen if that will actually happen.

    I was very pleased with Alexander ** mosquito defense service on my property today. He explained what he would be doing on my property and potential issues that I would have with stagnant water on the property. He walked through the 1 acre of my property and sprayed around all the bunches and trees. He was careful around my pond as I have fishes and around the fountain areas as well. He explained that I should not allow my dogs out for a couple of hours after he has sprayed. Information provided was very helpful. I called Trugreen at 10.30am because I have a party this weekend and they accommodated me and scheduled a service call on the same day. I really do appreciate the customer service. Highly recommended. Now we can enjoy our backyard and the summer in peace.

    I called TruGreen specifically about the sticker weeds in my lawn. The person I spoke to initially told me that they GUARANTEE that they could take care of the problem with my lawn. I paid in full up front. Long story short TruGreen killed my grass. Called our local representative every day. Left messages (crickets). Sent pictures via email...Nothing. This company should be shut down. They don't guarantee anything and once they get your money kill your grass there is no recourse. I even reported them to the BBB. I don't think anything will come from that. Please do not use TruGreen's services. We have had to dig up our lawn in our pool area and put down new sod. TruGreen is the worst decision I ever made. I see their commercials and it infuriates me. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

    If I could give 0 stars I would. I had a horrible experience with TruGreen. I saw no improvement in my lawn. So I requested to discuss the issue and see what other steps could be taken to improve the lawn. I was told the tech was coming out today and that he would stop in and discuss my options. Not only did he not stop in to speak to me, he lied about it. On my receipt it says "I knocked on your door, I'm sorry I missed you...", but that is a flat out lie. I work from home and my office is 3 feet from the front door. I would have heard a knock.

    I called TruGreen about it and they didn't want to do anything. I could deal with less than desirable results if the company is honest and doesn't lie to me and could offer some sort of plan to fix it. But one thing I will not tolerate is being lied to. I asked for a supervisor to contact me, and the next day someone called but it sounded like another tech support person from another country, I could not even understand what she was saying. Very bad english. She did not want to help me at all either. Very disappointed with TruGreen and will not continue to do business with them.

    The worst company EVER!! First, they keep renewing you even when you complain and say pls deactivate my account. 2nd the spraying is HARMFUL and not safe for vegetation, people, or animals, lastly they spray in the rain!!! It’s one thing if it’s for lawn care, but not to fight mosquitoes, ticks, etc. To even get a hold of someone on the phone is absurd. They make it as difficult as possible for you to deactivate the account. Go with Wicked Green or Pure Solutions! Great customer care and organic/safe!

    This was my first time getting a lawn service company to help me with getting my lawn in top shape. I have chosen the wrong company. I was given conflicting information every time I called and spoke with customer service. I asked for a monthly plan and I was quoted one set price, but when I called another time to get more clarification, I was told the price quoted was for 9 months, but I still would have to continue to pay for the last 3 months even though no one is scheduled to visit my property.

    When I tried to cancel the plan, I was hit with almost $400 on a balance I never knew I had. Mind you when the lawn specialist shows up they only lasted 2-3 minutes. I am still confused of the service they provide. They have not done anything to warrant such exorbitant fee. To make matters worst, not even 5 minutes after I cancelled, someone from their new customers department called me and tried to get me to start a new plan. Sorry but no thank you. I do not recommend this company to family and friends.

    I signed up for Tru Green 1st time (Pasco Office) and (Prepaid for the year) and they promptly came and sprayed my lawn March 9, 2024 and it looks great! Jared told me they would come out every 4-6 weeks. It is now May 9, 2024 and I have not been able to get hold of them since then. I have called 4 Times and get a different location every time. First one was Michigan, 2nd one was Georgia, 3rd and 4th time the Caribbean. One of them said I was scheduled for the week of May 13-17th. She could not give me a definite date. I called again today, May 15th and the guy from the Carribean told me I was not scheduled. I would like to Cancel, but I can't get hold of anyone to even Cancel my Pre-Payment. I'm so disappointed in this company. I made a Huge mistake signing on with them!

    Scammers!!!! I got a quote for a monthly payment and they inflated it almost immediately. Their Ant Treatment was nourishment to the ants, and they reproduced. The weeds got worse. When I called to cancel my service I was held responsible for a charge of $446.95 for 1 Ant treatment that did not work. I have more ant hills and more weeds now than I did before. They charge me $200.00 and they allege that I still owe them $500.00 + and they have been at my house 2 times. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these people. Ripoff is an understatement.

    TruGreen is the worst company ever. Before I hired them to take care of my grass my grass was beautiful. Once Trugreen started treatment every month they kill my grass is all burn with patches and they didn't do nothing to solve the issue. All they kept doing Every time I call customer service is apologizing. That's all. Never took care of my grass. Didn't even bother to replace my grass. I live in a new community and my grass is the worst so for anyone looking to hired Tru Green don't do it. I also have pictures to prove my saying.

    Would give zero stars if possible. Just an all around terrible experience. They don't do anything they claim to. When they show up which is rare the longest someone spent here was 6 minutes. The first guy spent 4 minutes. How can you possibly service a 1/2 acre property in 6 minutes. This company is a joke. Don't EVER hire this company.

    I paid $400 dollars for a lawn care package. It was money poorly spent. The work was shoddy. It has made little difference on my lawn. It still has growing weeds and brown patches. I will not use them again. I advice that you shop around.

    Two years ago I used Tru Green and the lawn did ok through the summer. However, when next spring came along, about half of my lawn was dead and did not come back. I spent over a year writing them letters and trying to get resolution. Finally after over a year I got a call from a local Tru Green representative and he had every excuse in the world why it was my fault that my grass died. He agreed to come out and look at it, but never did and ghosted me when I tried to follow up. My lawn is slowly coming back using a different company. I am not sure they know the difference between Bermuda and St. Augustine as I have a mixture and Tru Green killed all the St. Augustine gras.

    Please beware when signing up for TruGreen. Several issues: A. There is a scheduling and billing issue. They will schedule a service, not show up and still bill you. They insist you are wrong. B. When they do show up, the techs are not trained. I once watched a tech think he was putting fertilizer on the lawn, and when I showed him the fertilizer spreader level was not going down, he was surprised. He said they were not trained well. C. I have had techs show up, sit at the end of the driveway and talk on the phone, and then leave. I knew I would be billed, and I was. It's my word against theirs. It's a poorly managed company with techs that, for the most part, really could care less. It's really not worth the effort to deal with this company.

    I prepaid for an annual service, I wasn't home when the tech came to treat my lawn. I have Ring cameras around the property and noticed the tech didn't treat all of my lawn. I contacted the office and told them my complaint. They sent the same guy to retreat my lawn; this time, he put over 25 TruGreen signs all over it.     BEWARE OF THIS SCAM COMPANY. Worst customer service, a supervisor treat me really rude and when I canceled my account I still haven't received my refund. Don't hire this company. Look at all the complaints and bad reviews first, once they get you in is almost impossible to get rid of them and to get your money back. I canceled my service 13 days ago and my payment for the whole year hasn't been refunded yet. They even try to earn my business back when I asked where is my money.

    Nothing but problems with TruGreen, including:

    - They brought the wrong truck to my house and sprayed an urbacide, which killed a large percentage of my shrubs. Later in the season they replaced the dead plants, but the yard looked terrible much of the season and other plants died later in the season, which were never replaced.
    - I thought I was done with TruGreen, but they show up and keep spraying. Apparently, they have fine print that states they are authorized to continue billing and spraying until you cancel.

    - If you have multiple services, in my case lawn and mosquito, and you call in and say "I want to cancel," they, deceptively, cancel one service, but not the other.

    Besides the recurring billing problems, which I feel I never authorized, the biggest problem is that my lawn (the turf itself) which used to be the nicest lawn on the street, looks stressed and terrible.

Do not let these people have access to your bank account. These people charged me twice for aeration claiming that it was for other services that I didn't order.     Can't believe this company stays in business. Customer service and quality of work is the worst I have ever experienced. I asked a specialist to knock on my door when he did his next scheduled maintenance application. I stayed home from work that day specifically to talk to him. He never knocked on the door or tried to talk with me. I called customer service and tried to speak with a supervisor. I was informed that I couldn't talk to a supervisor. It's been 8 days and still (despite calling 3 times) haven't talked to a supervisor and the problems (dead spots and weeds) are the worst my lawn has ever seen. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

    This may be the worst company I've ever dealt with. They cannot manage to notify me, by email or phone call, the day before they plan to come out. Nor do they pay attention to my request that they not plan to treat before 3 pm. They tell me yes, yes, yes, and nothing gets better, despite multiple complaints.     I am so very disappointed in this lawn service. We have used Trugreen for years and the yard has not looked good past the first year we signed up. We have had four services so far this year - the last one being on 4/5. The yard is covered with weeds that supposedly have been treated. We always told they will turn brown and die within a month and this has not ever happened. The weeds are worse today than ever. The services we've received have consisted of a person coming for less than 5 minutes to run through the yard haphazardly throwing down who knows what, because it is clearly not making our yard look good. I will not ever recommend this company. Each 3-5 minute visit is $76 monthly and has been a complete waste of money. A hundred thumbs DOWN.

    Could you provide this scam company at all costs? They did nothing for me, and when I canceled, they deducted 5 so-called services and deducted another 56 and refunded me back. I did NOT see the result. All my shrubs have disease. They sent a guy to spray pesticide. He came and sat in his truck, and after 5 minutes, I got another text that he was done with the service. I was checking him to see if he would come to my backyard. They say, "We must come back if you are unsatisfied, but do not fool." They came three times for my shrubs and did nothing. In the end, I called them and said the name of the disease, and again, another guy came and said this disease was before the plan I signed up for. DISASTER. CROOK AND SCAM company.

Customer service offered no help, so I'm sharing my experience to warn others. Cancel service in writing and get confirmation. Remove your credit card information from their website.     I'm very disappointed in this company!!! My Lawn Care Person suggested I give Trugreen a try. I called the company and the fist person I talked to provided the information I was seeking! The person was very nice and a little pushy. I told him I was interested but I needed some time to make a final decision. I also stated I had just over-seeded my lawn, on purpose, to get strong and rapid growth. The person continued to push but finally said he understood. He said he would give me the time I needed and we agreed to talk again in four or five days. That was great and I was satisfied.

    Then the madness started!!! About two hours later the first call came. The person calling stated, "If you sign up now we will give you a big discount." The call was overwhelming! I said multiple times" I need time, I want time, I'm not ready!" I may want to use the service but not today. I told the last guy four or five days. The person would not give up. I had to almost hang up in his face.

    The very next day first thing another all. "This is ??? with Trugreen", I immediately said, "I will call you guys when I am ready. "The person would not stop. I was very frustrated, felt unappreciated, and disrespected!!! Again I had to almost hang up on the person!!! Four hours later another call. It was another person from Turgreen. I could not believe it, I had to say, beg and plead, "Please stop calling, PLEASE DELETE MY NUMBER!!!!" I said to the person; "It is obvious you guys, your company is Desperate but this is not my fault!!! Please Please Please stop calling me! I'm not interested in doing business with such a desperate company. I stated, initially I was interested but now I want to get as fare away from Trugreen as possible so please stop calling me and please delete my number please!!!" Would I recommend TruGreen, I THINK NOT!!!!

    We tried them twice and got poor service both times and wasted our $ for no improvement of our lawns. I do not know how they can stay in business by just sending out temporary techs with no training and experience.     Last year we had Trugreen treat our lawn for $80 an application. The applications were performed carelessly. I thought I would give them another chance. This year I asked for a quote. The guy said I’m right down the street, I’ll come by. I told him last year we had the applications for $80. As he drove by our property, he said to me, ‘$80, are you on drugs or something’? I was shocked by that comment. I will never use trugreen again.

    We used TruGreen for 5 years at our last home. Started off very good, but waned very quickly. Always saw weeds and dandelions popping up despite their treatment. Our video cameras of our security system saw them come MULTIPLE times and they would be gone within 3-5 minutes for a half acre treatment area. It is impossible to treat that area in less than 5 minutes. Yet we STILL got billed for it and had to pay it, even after I complained with video evidence! Since moving to Florida, we will NEVER use their terrible service again. As a family medicine doctor and my wife as a pediatrician, we see thousands of patients and will gladly deter customers from using such a terrible company. We spent so much money for services that were never completed. Imagine if we did that in medicine? We would be held accountable! Nobody holds TruGreen accountable and it is sickening. Fool me once….

    I cancelled my service at the end of the last growing season due to issues with my last application - I watched as they only sprayed half my lawn and when I asked the applicator about this he got indignant and said he had covered the entire lawn. When I cancelled they said they would have a different applicator take care of my lawn if I did not cancel, I cancelled anyway. Three days ago I re-opened my account - my mistake. In looking at the satellite image of my property with grass areas supposedly delineated with each lawn area square footage listing and the total square footage they said was lawn I found they grossly inflated the actual lawn area.

    When I re-opened my account I was told that someone would come out and measure my yard prior to application but they could only do so if I re-opened the account. Trusting I wouldn't be lied to I re-opened the account with the assurance of a proper measurement of the grass portion of the property prior to application. Today the applicator rolled up and got ready to spray the lawn. I asked him if he was here to measure the lawn and he stated he knew nothing about that and wasn't equipped to perform measurements.

    I showed him the satellite image of my property and he agreed that much of what TruGreen indicated as grass was really stone and pavement. He told me that the satellite image must be from before the stone and pavement was put down - unless their satellite images are more than 15 years old that cannot be the case. I do not feel that Tru-Green has been honest and truthful in their dealings with me and I would not recommend them to anyone. I should have followed my first instinct and gone with someone else.

    When they came to my house selling their services, they did not tell us the truth. They were not upfront and honest. Just to start. They killed every green in my front yard but saint augustine grass (and they will never accept it). So, I had bermuda grass and other type of grass, and they killed. It is almost the middle of april 2024. My front yard it is death, which it has being treated by TRUGREEN (for months), but a small area that has saint augustine grass. My back yard which has Never being treated by TRUGREEN it looks green and beautiful. And then they sent me experts in 2 different occasions to talk about the situation. They treated me and my wife disrespectfully, they tried to make us feel we knew nothing about lawns. They could not recognize that they made a mistake. They made us feel it was our fault.

    My Husband and I contacted TruGreen late September 2023 about grubs in our yard and asked about a service to get rid of them. We were quoted a rate of $88.92 for the first month and then $130.00 after that. Our yard was serviced in October, November and December 2023. We were charged $88.92 in October. We were charged $130.60 in November. BUT in December and January we were charged $139.86...more than what we were originally quoted for the service. TruGreen had to come out more than once to try and get rid of the grubs, which are still in our yard. In December we asked that our credit card be changed to another one. The January payment did not get taken out of the new account we gave them so they issued a refund for $139.86 on our old credit card account and rebilled the new account for $139.86 in January.

    As far as we were concerned our debt with TruGreen had been fulfilled. Our yard was not looking any better at all. Our neighbors said they thought it looked worse. A call was made on January 30, 2024 to cancel the service. As far as we knew our service had been cancelled. In early March we received a letter from a collection agency, asking for $359.34 in a past due balance. We has service with TruGreen for 3 months and paid for 4 months. How can anyone be past due? PLEASE do not use this company. It was a waste of our hard earned money to pay for a service we never received cause the grubs are still there. Thank GOD we have kept records of our payments and those copies were sent to the collection agency. Called them today and 60 days to let us know their decision. Already talking to a Lawyer. Keep your money and get someone local to do your yard.

    If you were smart you would stay away from Trugreen. I had them for 3 years and kept wondering why my lawn looked so bad. They kept telling me it would take time to see the results of their treatments but my lawn was not improving. Then I started working from home and to my surprise I witnessed the technician stick a flag in my yard and put a bill in my mailbox and then he got in his truck and drove away without ever treating my lawn. When I called Trugreen to complain they apologized and said they would report the technician and send a supervisor out to retreat my lawn. Three days later they sent the same technician back to my home and he did the same thing as before. Nothing!

    I cancelled my service, got a refund, and hired a new company. That was 1 year ago and the new company already has my lawn looking great. My neighbors had the exact same experience with Trugreen. The company needs to be sued for doing this to their customers. So do yourself a favor and find another company to take care of your lawn or you’ll regret it.

    I've been with TruGreen for several years. Everything worked fine until last year. They created a very "smart" schema to rip you off. When you sign-up for a new year and pay in advance to get "a few $$ discount", you don't realize that some of the services from the last year AUTOMATICALLY moved to the next year. And if you have not CANCELED each one of them INDIVIDUALLY, you will get a non-requested service and get billed. Nice! And after calling customer service- you get an answer- you can cancel if you don't like it. Nice! Not to mention that service is becoming worse and worse each month- maybe it's only related to our local Lehigh Valley representative. Looks like they are spraying your lawn with weeds (probably much cheaper). Or they might not even come- just sending some report by mail. Nice!

    I cancelled the service after 2 days before the first application. I signed up for the service on Wednesday this week and was told that the first service would be scheduled next week. At the time I was told that I would receive a text 24 hours before the service arrived and another text the same day that the service was to arrive. Yesterday morning, the day after I signed up for the service, I got a text saying that the service person was arriving today! I have not had my spring clean-up as yet and the lawn had branches and dead leaves all over it. I tried to use the "chat" function, entered all the required information and was then told that the chat function was not working for what I wanted to do. So I sent an email to customer service. There was an automatic response that they had received the email and would get back to me as soon as possible. I still have not had a response.

    This morning I got an email that the service had been applied and my AMEX card was charged for the service. The service was not applied and I will instruct AMEX not to pay that charge. After this occurred I called them and cancelled the service altogether. This is almost like a joke! It is the worst customer service experience I have had in... I can't remember any worse!

    Don't hire this company. Horrible. They don't even let you cancel. Just keep charging. Had to call for the 4th time today. My lawn is worse off since they started. Talked to customer support, he looked at the house and said it was awful and gave me free services, even talked about replacing my yard.     I'm a business owner myself for 30 over years, and when you write a contract with specific things you will do, they should be done. I shouldn't need to call the rep and/or the branch manager and have no one get back to me for several days. Especially when you pay for a whole year's service plus extras upfront. After not being able to talk to anyone, I called costumer service and canceled my contract, but not after getting a confirmation number that I was getting my money back.     I hired TruGreen services 9 months ago and paid a whole year upfront. I received updates for supposed services that were to be completed regularly. After a service was completed, I came home from work and saw there was nothing spread in my yard. I checked my security cameras to verify what the company had done only to find that someone came by, poked one of their signs in my yard, and drove off. I called, emailed, and even spoke the the techs to make complaints and nothing changed. I finally demanded someone from either regional or corporate to contact me. The response was cancelling my services without telling me, sending very rude emails, and when I was unable to answer the phone, the voicemail was also unprofessional.

    I contracted with TruGreen in 2022 for a full year of turf care in 2023. As the year progressed, our lawn was in more and more difficulty. I contacted TruGreen and asked for someone to come out and talk to me about it. Initially, a worker came out and said we had not watered enough. So we watered more. Things got worse. I tried to contact them again and ask for a review. They never followed through. Our lawn is a mess. When time came to renew the contract, I did not renew. I found another company, local, and with a focus on communication. I have been very pleased with them. Green Side Up is their name.

    Then I realized that TruGreen was charging me for lawn applications the end of January and beginning of February. I contacted them, explained that I had not renewed the contract. They said that I would have had to call them directly and cancel the contract - that it renewed automatically even though now it would be billed monthly. I explained how unhappy I was with the service, with the lack of clarity about the expectation that I would directly cancel and that I wanted a refund of the 2024 charges. After much wrangling, they gave me a partial refund. Again, the communication is poor and the service is not good.

    In Mar - May of 2023, I called TruGreen of Denver asking some questions on lawn care for a rental property that the prior tenant that TruGreen was providing and wanted to talk to someone locally. When I did get calls from TruGreen, it was from people outside of Colorado (which raises a red flag to me, because how can those people know my lawn without physically seeing it). During the phone calls, I was told that in order for them to initially talk to me, they would have to open an account (not a problem). During that time, all they did was try to get me to sign up for service without going out see the lawn. I never spoke to someone physically in Colorado. This was the reason why I did not go with them.

    In Nov 2023, I get call from a collection agency asking that I pay up. I do not recall signing a contract with TruGreen. In my experience, you never start long term service (something that is going to across multiple days) without a signed contract.

    I have gone through TrueGreen's survey multiple times and have never had anyone from the company respond. I have been with TrueGreen for years, both in Florida and in Tennessee. Two years ago you tripled the price. I canceled the following year. A representative called me and stated the price would double, but I would have all seven treatments just as the year before. This turned out to be a lie as you whittled the visits to five as opposed to the promised seven. This was the first nail in the coffin. Your latest bungle was when the tech came to the door (ring doorbell at 3:38 p.m.). They used to text before coming and after the treatments. Apparently TruGreen has eliminated this service.

    My neighbor watched as he pulled out the hose and laid product down around a three to five foot perimeter around the house, not around the property. The tech was in and out of here within 12 minutes and that's time to roll out the hose out and and back in! Again, I have contracted 1.1 acres that TruGreen has promised to service.

    You can't legislate morality and your company has none. After calling a representative to have the yard redone, another rep called and promised that a supervisor would be contacting me within 24 hours. Needless to say this did not happen. Finally received a voice message from an obviously disgruntled manager who told me to call him back. Seriously?

    The representative I spoke to on the phone said she will make sure this is banned from my property in the future. TrueGreen, Alcoa, Tn. has never responded to a concern unless it was on social media via Facebook for everybody to see. Even at that, your tone and attitude was despicable. Yet again you crawled right back into your, do as little as possible for as much financial gain as possible, mentality.

    UPDATE: To add insult to injury yet once again, I call the customer service line and ask what time they will be here. They said it's now rescheduled for the following Monday. I told them when they scheduled it for today that I was moving appointments around to be here, but that meant nothing to them. Can't stand TruGreen and will never deal with this fraudulent lying company again!

    I signed up for 4 different services with the company. After 2 months and 2 treatments for pest control and mosquito control I was still having problems so I canceled. They had my credit card on file and had charged it for my first month of service. ($145). All I owed was for 1 service done in the following month. But they told me I still owed an additional $255! When I asked why they didn't charge me for all of the services I received when they charged my card at the end of the month - they couldn't explain it! They couldn't even tell me why they only charged my $145 if I indeed owe them $400 - I know - because I didn't. I feel like that because I cancelled they are trying to reach back and charge my 3x the amount I agreed to. Also their services are not effective which is why I CANCELLED! So now I have to pay three times as much for services that didn't work in the first place!

    I have found TruGreen only cares about money and not the customer. I used them on another address and when moved tried convert account but had issues getting the accounts linked so they created a new one which caused issues. Afterwards when I was finally able to get into my account and review and report my issues with my lawn they gave me excuses. Months later different excuses same issue in same spots. This went on for almost year before there were times they claimed the tech was there and applied almost 25 gallons of product but in under 10 minutes without ever getting caught on camera, when I complained about this they would send same tech out or I would get call and he would make up reason for why it did not make sense for him to come out again.

    Final straw was when I complained and was told by the manager in area that they would send someone out and 3 weeks later no one did, when I contacted support to complain about last service that was never applied they offered me 20% discount on only my next service. This was an insult to me and requested my account be canceled. They finally did after trying to resell me again and deleted all the reports so I could not even use or review them for later. In summary paid for treatments and weeds and grass never looked worse since started and no one cared.

    Hired in May for five applications. One of the three drivers acted like they cared. Totally forgot the aeration, fertilizer and seeding. This was after they were reminded. Finally rented an aerator. Called and basically wanted to take a few dollars off despite the labor already being done. This after I got them a new client in the last 5 weeks with a bigger yard than mine. Totally disappointed with them. Thought this was going to be a better experience. It wasn't.

    I have had yet another very frustrating experience with TruGreen this season. On three occasions, I have called and asked for our wild violet to be treated, and it has yet to be done. Prior to our maintenance service on September 15th, I called TruGreen to request that our wild violet be treated. The technician came and treated with the normal fertilizer and weed control, and told us to call to have someone come out to treat the wild violet. So, I called TruGreen again, and was assured that it was noted in our account that wild violet needed to be treated, and that they weren't sure where the mixup happened. They said they would send someone back out on October 5th to treat the wild violet.

    October 5th came, and the technician again applied normal fertilizer and weed control. We had just received fertilizer and weed control less than 3 weeks prior! So, I called TruGreen again. Again, I was assured that our account stated that the technician was only supposed to treat the wild violet on that visit, and they didn't know where the mixup occurred. They said they would send someone out for just the wild violet, and that our last service of the season would be pushed back so as not to damage our lawn.

    Now, I receive a text that TruGreen is coming tomorrow to perform our last service of the season, with fertilizer AGAIN, not even two weeks after the last time they came and applied fertilizer (when they weren't supposed to). I called and spoke to Jules, who was very short and disrespectful on the phone, telling me repeatedly that tomorrow is my last service, and that it can't be moved back, even after I explained the damage the fertilizer could cause to our lawn being applied so frequently. She then told me that they would just treat the wild violet without fertilizer tomorrow, but that would still be my last service.

    I said I would like a refund for the last service then because I would never be receiving the winter fertilizer. She said I can't have a refund, and that she'll just tell them to do the fertilizer tomorrow with the wild violet. I replied that she was not listening to the part about damaging my lawn, so she then said they will come October 25th instead. That's still less than 3 weeks from our last fertilizer application. At this point, I want to cancel my account with TruGreen because the communication is seriously lacking.

    I signed up for a year service for the trees and scrubs. I was told that they would even test me when service was going to be done so that I might be able to see what was being done. I received texts but no one would come to do the service, I even got one test that "Danny was at my house." I have been home all those days and 4 times I get back a text that "Sorry we could not complete your service." I called customer service and the rep guaranteed it would be done today. Another lie, so I called back to their customer service asking for my money back. They would not give me my money back. Shut these crooks down!

    The first few visits my yard looked great. Then the weeds started to stay. They treated again and weeds still there. They came back and treated again and weeds didn't die but yard started to die. Today they were supposed to come for a consult and treated the yard again. That is 3 treatments in a very short time span. I took pics today to show how the grass is dying from the treatments but there was no place to post on their reviews. Also ref. For what happens to yard now.

    If you want your grass to die I suggest you call TruGreen. They will accommodate you. They also are very good at passing the buck. Should have known in beginning when they called 3 times to get payment on a paid in full account before treatment and 5 sales calls after I had already purchased a plan this was a company I didn't want to deal with neighbors say the last 2 scheduled visits they didn't even spray. I wasn't home so don't know but there were no signs on lawn or report on door. Very stressful company to deal with and that was before they started killing my grass. I have picture proof.

    I was a customer until the company told me if I wanted to get rid of the weeds I would have to pull them up myself. They are one of the worst companies I have dealt with in my life. Please don’t waste your money. I called them to cancel the service and the lady said sure but that they would like to send someone out to look at my lawn. I said okay but I still wanted to cancel because I don’t need them if I must pull out the weeds by hand or treat them myself like I was doing. My lawn was not looking any better than others without the service.

    They sent out two more specialist individuals to look and stated that they apologize and would like to give a month of free service because their representative had been in error. I said okay but I do not intend to pay for the service. They stated no problem, it was free. I did not see anyone come back after that and there was no improvement. They then charged me for the service they said was free and two other services they said I was behind on when I paid all services on time. Their collections department then hounded me like a dog in heat. Finally, I paid for the poor services and services I did not receive to get them off my back. It took from March to October to terminate and clear my bill (I hope it is clear). They hung up on me twice without provocation and it was near impossible to get someone on the phone who could help.

    Worst company to deal with. All they want is your money, service is not a priority and they will lie to get your money. I asked for cancellation many times and they continued to "provide service" and charge for it, then refused to correct the problem. The manager and specialist came, inspected the lawn and agreed that there were many weeds, and promised free service, but no corrective action was taken while the billing continued. I have had a terrible experience with TruGreen. Please do not make the same mistake I did. TruGreen is a rip off.

    I was a loyal customer until they showed up one day to do aeration and seeding. They left a message that they were coming and I assumed it was part of the lawn service I ordered and that they would ask my permission if there was additional charges. I wasn't there to stop them from coming and didn't know that I would be charged over $200 for this service that they never even asked if I wanted it. I cancelled after this.

    Prior to this I had other complaints such as the tech spraying the lawn would knock over and damage lights in our yard and would park in front of our driveway meaning we are unable to use the driveway until he leaves or would have to ask him to please move their vehicle. Shouldn't have to ask them permission to use our own driveway. In one case, I arrived home from an appointment and couldn't use my own driveway and had to park in front of a neighbor's house since the truck was blocking my driveway and the front of my house.

    After prepaying several hundred dollars our lawn has just as many weeds as it did before we subscribed to their service. The manager came, inspected the lawn and agreed that there were many weeds, but the onus was on us, not the servicer to inspect the property each time an application was made to determine if it worked. It would seem to me that the tech after multiple visits should be able determine that the treatments were ineffective and modify the treatment accordingly.

Called to talk to a supervisor and got a run around from terrible customer service person that told me they did not have a phone number for a supervisor. Got two "free" retreatments that burned my grass. Supervisor showed up unannounced at my house a month later after I cancelled my service. Too little, too late. Then I was charged $77 on my credit card 25 days after they told me my account was cancelled.

    I have had such a terrible experience with TruGreen. They never got rid of the mosquitos. Then they charged me double what they originally quoted me. I asked them for a copy of the contract I signed. They said it would be emailed to me within a couple of hours, that was over a week ago. I finally just cancelled. Please do not make the same mistake I made. I am certain there is a true local company in your area who will be so pleased to assist you. TruGreen sells overpriced and over promised terrible products. I hardly ever write reviews. I could not be silent about this experience. Terrible.

    TruGreen is a rip off. They won't make an appointment with you because they don't want to alert you as to when they are coming so they can claim they treated your yard even when they didn't. In my case, they came and stayed for 6 minutes. They left no signs they had been on the premises. No yard sign. No note on the door. When I looked at my camera I saw the person had stayed just 6 minutes and had not sprayed for weeds and had not even treated the entire front yard. He did not treat the backyard at all because it was locked behind a gate and I had no idea he was coming that day or had even been there at all.

    The next visit I was actually there and i saw the TruGreen employee treat my front yard then close the back gate without stepping foot in the backyard. Then he left!! I would not recommend this company at all! They are complete tricksters. If you don't have cameras it will be difficult to prove that you are paying them for nothing and your yard will continue to look the same way it always has. DON'T DO IT!!

    On 4/12/2023 our lawn was severely damaged by the products your lawn specialist applied. I made the company aware and the Senior Service Branch Manager, Bob, was assigned to remediate the issue. I had to contract Trugreen several times in order to get them to recognize the damage and, hopefully, fix my lawn. The damage was confirmed by Bob on or around 5/16 and the 1st remedial application was applied of organic fertilizer. Bob's instructions were to water it every day and avoid mowing. I followed his instructions and waited the 2 weeks to see improvement. There was NO IMPROVEMENT. I had to contact Trugreen several other times to see what the next step for remedial action.

    I finally spoke with Bob again on 6/7. He advised that the next step would be to wait until the fall to aerate the lawn and reseed it (by the way, this was already a pre-paid service in the lawn care package!). I stated that is not acceptable and I would want to have our lawn re-sodded due to several months of damaged lawn already present and I was not going to wait until the fall. Bob stated he was not going to do that. I was left with no option and advised him I would be contacting an attorney to evaluate my options. He said he did not care and go ahead and contact Trugreen's legal team!

    I contracted with TruGreen when I purchased my house almost 2 years ago. My lawn was pristine! Since I contracted with them I'm getting overrun with crabgrasses, smooth and blanket. I was told by their salesperson that "All I had to do was cut my grass". Now I find myself on my hands and knees digging out crabgrass clumps and replacing them with Zoysia plugs that I had to buy. I had a re-service scheduled today because they didn't do the back lawn last time (or the time before). "Technician" texted me and told me he cancelled because he did my whole property a week ago. Total lie! My backyard is fenced and locked. How did he do my entire property if I didn't unlock the gate? Customer service is totally useless. More interested in me continuing my service than actually getting my service completed.

    Started my service plan with Trugreen in May of 2022. I had a ok lawn but I wanted to make it look better so I decide to give Trugreen a try. I noticed right away that when they serviced my lawn the guy would come out and drive the spreader through the lawn and then drive right back to truck and leave without servicing the entire lawn. I called to complain and they did many reservices that were basically the same. At the end of the year there were large brown patches in my lawn. The representative told me that it would look better this year and just wait until spring.

    I started getting calls in January asking if I was satisfied and wanted to continue the service. I told them about the issues I had in 2022 and that I wanted to wait until spring to see how the lawn looked. They sent out techs for several free services and also said the branch manager out to discuss the situation. He never showed and then in April they started doing the services again and were charging me for them. My lawn has went from fair to now looking scorched and I have about 70 percent of my lawn with just dirt and no grass at all. I called today and canceled and was told that I would not get a refund for the service that just happened 3 days ago. Try a different service, I’m in the Scranton PA service area and have heard many horror stories about this branch.

    This was my 2nd attempt to allow Trugreen to treat my trees. I had a holly topiary. Trugreen has been servicing my scrubs for approx. 2 years. This tree along with a pine topiary died and was still being treated without and conversation or concern. I called and requested an appt to discuss the condition. Someone appeared without an appt. on a day I wasn't home, examine the Holly and another shrub and discussed the condition with someone who was at my home at the time. (this person had no knowledge of the issue) I called and complained on 5/23 and 5/30. AS of today June 15, still awaiting call from manager Bruce **.

    I was excited about the Mosquito Defense Service. They told me they would spray every 30 days, and if I notice mosquitos to call and they will come back out. The first service was the day I signed up for it. I enjoyed the absence of Mosquitos as we spend a lot of time outside. The 2nd service they texted me that they were on their way in the next 2 hours, 3 hours later I get a text that they are unable to provide service and would reschedule. I should have been put on the schedule the following day but know they waited 2 days before coming out.

    They sprayed on the 5/25/23. On 5/28/23 I called to inform them that we were being eaten up with mosquitos. They put me on the schedule for Monday 6/5/23. I was not on the schedule when I checked my account, I called again, and they had moved me to the 7th of June. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They said no one was available. I ask to speak to someone in the San Antonio office. That also was denied. No matter what number I call it all goes to an overseas call center. Here is the kicker, I have a friend who lives in one of the Prestigious neighborhoods and she had the same problem, but she was given service when she requested. I guess TruGreen does not have time for citizens who live in $300K homes. For the price I was paying I expect better service. I canceled my service.

    I used TruGreen for 2 years. They had always skipped the backyard. I called them many times complaining. When backyard continued to have weeds, I called and cancelled the service. A few weeks after I cancelled, a TruGreen truck stopped on the side and treated about 4 mature trees on the side of my neighbors. I was sitting in the backyard. I really thought they were treating the neighbors' trees. Those mature trees are dead now. Terrible experience.

    We hired this company because of reputation and family recommendations. Paid in full for year service for 4 services. The first service, after they came out, our lawn had burn, brown like patches everywhere they applied their chemicals. We immediately called the next day just for a simple inspection to look at what happen. They said they would come out the next day to inspect. No one showed. We called again and they assured us someone would come the following week. No one showed.

    We called and this time they said someone would come following Monday and that we can track it on the their app. Monday came, nothing in the app, and we called again. Now they tried to tell us that someone will be coming Tuesday and that's when we said enough is enough. We ended canceled our service, cut our losses. For a judge company they claim to be and satisfaction they claim to have, we were not in a bit impressed. I never recommended this company to anyone else.

    I have been a customer of TruGreen for about one year. I thought it would be easier on me to pay a professional to take care of the herbicide/insecticide portion of lawn care but boy was I wrong. I literally paid a company to kill all of my grass. Just about the only green you see in my lawn is weeds. There are clumps of dirt everywhere, which indicate active insect presence under the soil.

    They have undone any progress that I have made during the 5 years I've owned this property. They have done nothing to make it right. They offered to provide free aeration, overseeding, and fertilization, but that was well over a month ago now and have not made good on their word to do anything. I've asked for a refund but of course they are ignoring this request.

    Our lawn had multiple bare spots and many dandelions. We felt we need professional help to have a lawn we could be proud of. We hired TruGreen to get rid of the weeds and reseed to grow grass. After a year of service, monthly maintenance and aerating with reseeding, we don’t have the weeds and we still don’t have the grass. The bare spots are still there and there is no new grass at all. I called TruGreen seven times now. Seven times I was given different answers and the complete run around. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on seed, fertilizer and weed killer yourself. It will be less expensive and far less frustrating.

    I, like many others, have paid for the TruGreen service for a year. What I was sold over the phone when I purchased everything was that they would come out, look at my lawn and provide a service that was tailored to my specific needs - this is not even close to what I got. Long story short the "expert" that came out said "I just come out and apply the chemicals man, I am not sure why your weeds aren't going away". I have given them a number of months to get their stuff together but I have yet to seen any changes, in fact, my lawn has gotten exponentially worse... I will be canceling the service and getting my money back because this has been absolutely terrible. Good riddance.

    TruGreen is THE WORST company ever. I prepaid for an entire year, or at least that was what they sold me on the phone. I paid $990! I hired them for anti-fungal treatment. It took them 4 times to come out and apply the wrong treatment before I got a manager out and HE applied the fungicide. After 8 months, my weeds are worse than ever. They were never controlled but got worse.

    Then, even though I prepaid for a year, they started charging me after 6 months. When I called to rectify that, they said they came out the number of times they were supposed to and my contract wasn’t for the full year. Even though I pointed out that they came out 4 TIMES before applying the right treatment, they said it didn’t matter and refused to refund what extra they charged me. They have the worst customer service and they don’t care. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am a single mom that got completely ripped off by them. Nothing was easy; it was a nightmare. They are horrible.

    My yard was filled with weeds so I called TruGreen. A "lawn care specialist" called me and we agreed to a treatment on the lawn. I instructed him to contact the property manager before going there, providing name and contact information. He agreed to contact her, after which I contacted property manager to advise he'd be calling before going there. I am the owner. The tenant and property manager have an agreement that before anyone goes on the property, he will be notified. The second thing is that I wanted to be there when he went there to see that someone was actually doing their job. So the next morning he, Kyle Y, emails me stating that he had been there and completed the work. I called the property manager to ask if he had contacted her, and she stated that the TruGreen employee had not called her. I then called TruGreen customer service and cancelled any future work because employee had not followed instructions.

    Every day since I have cancelled the service, the "lawn care worker" has emailed me to state he is on his way to my house to perform work. I called customer service and asked to have the emails stopped but the emails keep coming. So I called again today to ask to speak with the owner or general manager about a problem employee. The agent said someone would get back to me in 48 to 72 hours. So we'll see where that goes. I recommend that no one deals with this company unless they get control of what their employees are doing. There might be good employees there but you don't know for sure what you're going to get.

    I purchased a prepaid package as a gift for my parents for services to be provided Fall of 2021 and Spring of 2022. I noticed in February of 2023 that TruGreen had started charging me monthly for services after the services I paid for had been completed. When I called to get an explanation, I was THEN told services automatically renew unless cancelled?? The customer service agent never explained this to me when I initially called to make this purchase. I never authorized this and they claimed they follow up with the customer when services are about to “renew”. No one contacted me nor did they get permission from my parents.

    Furthermore the services I paid them to provide were a joke. I ended up hiring a landscaper to get rid of the weeds. They would also lie about providing services to the yard, my dad would call them to let them know that was impossible, as they did not know they were coming so the gate was locked to give them access!     In 2022, I purchased a year’s worth of lawn service. First, when I required fungus service they didn’t respond timely and too late. Worse was that when someone showed up stating they were here to spray my lawn service (overdue) and asked me to sign as proof he had showed up. I did. What I signed was a new service for trees and shrubs which I did not ask for and which he didn’t state that he was selling a new service. I don’t know what you call it, but at best it is unethical and probably illegal. When the new charges hit my credit card I called and cancelled and complained. I cancelled a reseeding service too. I said I had one more lawn application prepaid, but afterwards wanted nothing to do with TruGreen. I got a recent call regarding my 2023 service. I said I cancelled my service. Apparently, asking doesn’t work. It seems once you sign up you’re going to get their service the next year too without asking.

    Now, got an email saying if I don’t choose to prepay, I’ll be charged when service is provided. So, I called again. And, the service was still active. I have now cancelled again. We shall see. During the year, I got numerous calls for extra special services for things like ticks. When I said no, I got comments like don’t you care about your family and dog. Their high pressure sales calls and sales tactics is just not right for a company their size. If you have to sell in this manner, I can’t recommend your service and frankly suggest people just stay away. Too mad. If they show up now — can I have them arrested?

    Decided even after seeing many bad reviews to give this company a try. Big mistake. I prepaid for 1 year service at $442 to fertilize and control weeds on my lawn. First service was today and the guy pulls up and sits in his truck for 15 minutes then gets out and hangs a bag containing the treatment that he had done. My wife was home and I have cameras all around my house. He did nothing! I canceled my contract and ask for a full refund.

    I began my service with weeds in yard & a fungus of some type, at the end of my svc contract I still had weeds and fungus. I complained that I was not seeing and results. After 3 months still nothing. Now TruGreen is trying to renew my contract promising to find out what the problem is and make the difference, so far 2 different appointments have been missed to start this process. Where is the consumer protection. Management is not available to speak to you. It takes 24/48 business hours to get a return call. The company had no problem taking my money, its only problem is providing adequate service.

    Although I received a refund for half of the cost that I purchased and still paid half price for dead grass, I do however, really appreciate the fact that I was able to deal with someone, Nicole, who finally took my issue seriously to resolve this matter. I give her credit for her efforts and suggestions to resolve the issue. In turn, even though it took longer than expected for this issue to be resolved, I will at least increase the rating to a 3. If I dealt with better customer service reps like Nicole from the beginning of all of this, the rating would have been a 5.

    I bought a service from Oct 2021 until Oct 2022. My main call was due to mushrooms in my backyard. I was nervous about my dogs eating them. I was told by the sales rep that they can take care of it. In the spring, the mushrooms grew back and my front lawn was turning brown. I started making phone calls in regards to the issues I was seeing including dead spots that were not there before. I was informed at that time that they do not treat fungi even though that's what I was told at the beginning and the reason for hiring them in the first place.

    Come the summer, I called for a supervisor to come out. No one showed. I then called many many times up until my contract was ending for a supervisor and for them to fix the problem. Spent hours on the phone with them. Each time a sales rep called to renew my contract I informed them that I was not going to renew it until I saw signs of improvement on my lawn that they caused and that I was lied to from the beginning about the mushroom treatment. I even asked them to pull the recorded line when I purchased the service (of course they had no way to get it). Either way, no supervisor showed up nor did they called me in regards to fixing the problem that they started, instead, I continue to get calls from sales reps trying to have me become an active customer again until this day.

    It's now Feb 10, 2023 and again, I just received a call, hoping it to be a supervisor, nope, it was a sales rep. He told me that they can not provide or expedite a service call for a supervisor until I become an active customer. They did not care about the time I was an active member requesting assistance over and over again and not getting any help. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME. BAD PRODUCTS THAT KILLS YOUR LAWN AND EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    I started using TruGreen last July, 2022. The result has been horrible. They sprayed chemicals several times which has killed everything green. Today 1/18/1923, just before Spring there is not one blade of grass anywhere in my back yard or half the front yard. I have called them the five times to talk with a manager or service personnel to see what their program is to restore my lawn. I can not get a review or a call from anybody. I have had to cancel any further service and now have to find another lawn service to correct the problem. Do not use this service. Gary ** Roswell, GA

    Trugreen sent a text that my service was provided today but no one was at my house. I called and they said maybe he did the wrong house but I received a detailed report with my address saying what was done. This was a return to treat problems with shrubs. After calling they had someone come out that was new and he started putting fertilizer around plants. I ran out and told him to stop. Showed him the problem plant and he said he was a tree guy and did not know what to do. I guessed it was a fungal problem and told him but he did not know. Then he had his manager talk to me, I am in Florida his manager was in New York telling me the plant was fine and was overwatered. Meanwhile the tech said it was too dry. But I have an identical plant 6 feet away doing great.

    I mentioned this and was told the soil was different, even though it was only 6 feet away in the same flower bed. Then the manager said it looked normal. The other plant 6 feet away is green covered with flowers but this one has no flowers and spots on the leaves. Supposedly someone with knowledge will be back next week.

    The yard service is not much better. The first application was spayed on when the winds were above 15mph gusting to over 20 so everything blew away. They came back and did a second application. Looking at my yard and my neighbors after 3 treatments there is little difference in the two yards and they are not treating their yard. Trugreen would not refund me for the full year just the last service which was at least something. I can take a leaf to a nursery and buy what I need to treat my plants. It seems Trugreen puts on fertilizer and hope for the best. I still have weeds in the yard after 2 treatments.

    On numerous occasions we were told via text that the representative had come and done a service. Since we work from home and never saw the treatment being done and our dog never alerted us that someone was in the backyard, we do not believe the treatment was done. We signed the contract on March 3, 2021. We were later billed for the aeration completed on March 1, 2021! Today reviewing our account I see that two treatment were billed on March 3rd. Impossible as the contract was just signed and no treatments were done.

    We have called for treatments on several occasions when we received texts to says a treatment would be done and we knew it wasn't. (We should have viewed our account online earlier to find out what treatments were charged. We were doing that now to find out when the final treatment would be done as counted 7 times we knew someone had been here.) Our account indicates that we have received all treatments paid for.

    On one occasion, a treatment sign was left in our front yard, but none in the back. We think someone drove by and put a sign out without doing the treatment. Another time a rep came out and I watched him treat half of our backyard. When I asked why, he said his hose wasn't long enough to reach the whole yard! The original weeds are still in our yard after a year's treatments. I don't believe we can trust TruGreen to do treatments on our lawn.

    I signed up with Trugreen on 06/15/2021 for lawn services which I had to prepay upfront and was never told about the "continuing service." I even clarified with the agent that the service will stop after all services that I prepaid for was completed and he said yes, also have an email from him stating that. I live at a different address and had no idea that Trugreen was still servicing my account without any notifications. The only calls I got from them is for payment collection. This is unfair and deceptive practices and I had to pay over $600 for services I did not want. Trugreen has nothing that is in clear writing about their practices and they should be honest and upfront with consumers.

    The recent reviews I just read are phony, run do not walk from TruGreen, trying to get an insect treatment from them, I wrote 3 letters to them and one to corp. Hq, and BBB, no one ever returned my calls, I talked to 3 mgmt nodes in 3 different states, they all said they would have my local Dothan, AL connect me. After 4 months of this crap, I wrote them a letter that I was dropping them. Never heard a word, when I got a bill I called them to confirm that I was no longer a client, they confirmed it. The next day I got a call at 7am, asking what they could do to keep me as a client, I told them nothing, they were worthless, National reviews confirm that trugreen is totally worthless, run don't walk. !!!

    More than once TruGreen arrived at my property but never completed my service but charged me the full price. If I had not been home I would have never known. They have dishonest employees who never complete the service but say they did. I travel quite a bit for work so I’m not always home when they come. But I witnessed them 3 times just sit in the truck in front of my house for 30 minutes then leave. But charge me as if they treated my lawn!!

    I pre-paid for a year’s service. It is a nightmare. They never did a soil Analysis on my yard, they treated someone else yard instead of mine (the house they treated was not a customer) after finding out I confronted the Tech and he said he had because that’s where the gps system had sent him to. They started finally coming to my house and they would be there for 5 minutes and leave. Our yard has more weeds in it now than ever. I left 9 messages with the local manager and he never returned any calls.

    One morning I got a notification on phone that they were there so I went outside and no one was there so I stood there waiting and no one showed up and I get another text saying that my service was complete. So I was furious and drove 45 minutes to the local office to speak to the manager because he wasn’t returning my calls. I spoke to the sales manager because they claimed the service manager wasn’t there. Nothing was really done and all I heard was excuses. They never irrigated my lawn and I questioned why and they said it wasn’t time. They were supposed to do it in fall and they didn’t. I get a phone call in August they wanted to irrigate my lawn. It was in the high 90’s and no rain for while and ground was hard as a rock. So I told them no.

    I then decided on firing them and getting my money back and they closed my account and said they would issue me a refund. I received a text saying they tried to refund my money and it was declined from my bank. I called my bank to find out why they tell me there was never a attempt on their side showing any refund declined from my bank. I have fought this company to do what I hired them to do and they never have. All they do is lie and scam their customers.

    So I have TruGreen for my lawn for 2 seasons. First season was fine. Very few issues or reasons to communicate. This season we are finishing I can say my lawn is about 50 percent crabgrass. My sprinkler system suffered a single zone failure and the technician thought it was damage from bugs. I call Trugreen and ask about the crabgrass and the guy I speak to says they will attend to it and asks me to buy a care plan for my landscaping as the tech told him it was big damaged. I looked. It was pristine and I had my local garden shop look and he said no issues.

    I called Trugreen and told them and the guy says how can you trust someone else more than his tech. Needless to say I declined the additional plan and they never came to treat for crabgrass. A month later I speak to the tech who came for a regular applications and he tells me he can’t treat for crabgrass as he has been treating for bug damage and I tell him the zone in front is bad and it’s not bug damage. He has an oh I see moment and tells me it will be years to eradicate all the crabgrass. My big issue is it’s hard to catch the tech when they come as you get a text they are there and by the time you get there they are long gone. They spray fast and move on.

    Got the text that they had arrived for service. Watched the tech get out of his truck and put the sign in the yard THEN DRIVE OFF! Got another text that service was complete!!!! HE NEVER EVEN TREATED MY LAWN! I have called TruGreen 4 times since this happened 3 days ago and still haven't got a callback. I think this warrants an escalation, yet no one seems to be too concerned. It makes me wonder how many other times this has happened when I wasn't home to see it (I'm usually not). Not only is it infuriating that they didn't do the service, but to have no one reach out after my complaint is absurd and just downright HORRIBLE customer service.

    We paid for a full year's service upfront. About $900.00 they started out good the first 3 visits. Went downhill from there. All I can say is poor quality of work, herbicide & fertilizers.     DO NOT USE TRUGREEN AS THEY CHEAT. I was charged for service in last Sept 2021 380$ and then 53$ in April and 58$ August 2022. They auto renewed my service and no one serviced my lawn from year. This is really bad and unprofessional stealing business. I called two times and told my concern but rep was so rude and kept insulting me like I am lying. I used TruGreen for at least 5 years and this kind cheating treatment they give. No one serviced my lawn and they don't even take effort to find if someone is actually servicing. Reps were rude and have no interest in knowing issue.

    I have used TruGreen for a couple of years for the mosquito and tree service. This past season the service has become awful. Sloppy work, knocking over things in my yard and just stepping over it and leaving. The final straw was September 6th when they were doing the mosquito service, the worker slammed my privacy fence gate so hard he broke it. I was home and heard it, went outside to check and sure enough the gate was broken, and the guy was gone.

    I called customer service and let them know what happened and they said they would pass it on to a supervisor. I did receive a call back the next day and was told she was contacting and area supervisor and someone would be out. I heard nothing and called again Friday afternoon and was told they were emailing the area supervisor. Again, I have heard nothing. Called again today to be told they would cancel my service and forward my concerns to a general manager. In the meantime, I have a broken gate that I will have to pay to have repaired (my fence was replaced about 4 months ago, so it is not old) and to top it off it rained the afternoon of my mosquito treatment, and the mosquitos are worse than ever. It says in their advertisement if it rains, they will respray; yeah right! I would definitely steer clear of TruGreen, their services and customer service has definitely deteriorated. I would leave less than on star if I could.

    First the nonprofessional lawncare expert lied. He was doing aeration on the yard. My husband opened the back gate, told my husband that he could not get the machine thru the gate and he would return with a smaller one and finish the job - Lied. He never came back. I called and rescheduled, meaning he meant to leave it as such. I called customer service and had the remainder of the job on 9/7 between 1-4. On 9-7 around at 3:48 pm I received a text stating gate locked. Yes it is locked, I was waiting for him to come to unlock the gate. He did not ring the doorbell. I have a Ring security system and HE DID NOT COME. I called customer service. Asked to reschedule it or have the tech come out on 9/7, told by a rep, sorry too late. Was scheduled for today without offering me a time frame, it got booked for today from 1-6. I had travel plans today and asked that the time to be moved up to 8 am. Was told that they notified the manager.

    This morning no change, called customer service and they have been reaching out to this non manager since 8 am this morning. I cancelled my travel plans to get this done today because I will be gone for a while. The tech lied and continue to lie and inconvenience me. I guess they don't care, they took the 331.00 immediately for a third of the job done, now I have to wait, so unfair and unprofessional for a company that so-call pride themselves on customer service.

    The service I am getting sucks, no consideration for my time, only their time, paid for a service not fully done and I cannot speak to the manager because he is avoiding me like the plague. He will not call me to try to make this right? Who is going to compensate me for my inconvenience knowing I had plan to travel today? Nobody. They don't care, and especially this manager that allows a lazy tech to lie to a customer. Is this how you do business? If it is-I will be seeking out a reputable lawn care company, that cares about the customers, not give them the runaround for a huge mistake this nonprofessional lawn care expert and his manager sucks.

    This was our first year to use TruGreen. They started treating our lawn in April. After the first couple of applications in April and May the lawn looked pretty good. This was a very hot and dry year in our part of the country. In June the chinch bugs set in. They treated our lawn in June and July for chinch bugs and used iron. Our lawn looked worse than ever. Weeds and chinch bugs taking over. In August they used sulphur on it. Our yard was mostly gone by this time. We were planning to cancel. They told us we needed to water 3 times a week. With water restrictions and the cost of water that wasn't possible. It started raining regularly in late August, but our yard is weeds and dead patches. I am not sure our yard will recover from the damage they did. Save your lawn and money. Avoid this company.

    I tried TruGreen for the first time subscribe to all their services and when I asked about having someone come and take a look at my lawn because it was not doing well they came said that they would apply more products but was not able to say the reason for the results I have I also sent a video Which never got answered of why my lawn died. On my last service they had added more for weeds and now at the end of the season I have more weeds and seems that whatever was put down to not keep the weeds under control or strengthen my lawn.

    Updated on 03/14/2023: After previously going back and forth with Trugreen about a lack of ANY visible results, I previously informed Trugreen (both here in communications, and to their service techs who would show up from time to time) that they were fired and I would never pay for their (lack of) service again. My original "service" term (if that's what you want to call what Trugreen provides) ended back in winter of last year. I then get a text message last Friday (3/10/23) that an agent is on their way to treat my lawn...

    Sorry, not just 'No', but rather **-No! I ran outside to find the guy just sitting in his truck playing on his phone. I told him that I wanted Trugreen OFF my property, and I refused to pay for their services ever again. I told him I don't care what his little tablet/job computer was telling him, Trugreen was fired, and there will be no more money from me. I told him to cancel ALL services and never show up again. If I see a single charge on my credit card, that is getting reversed immediately. We are outside of the terms of the original agreement, and I DID NOT authorize them to continue their laughable "service".

    The Product doesn't work. The service techs are often lazy and sometimes don't even do the job they claim to do (I know, I've sat in my house and watched them do nothing before), and the customer service is virtually non-existent. You get more interaction from their customer service from THIS SITE, than you do when you try to contact them directly. STAY AWAY. TruGreen is obviously NOT the company it used to be, and at this point it seems beyond ANY form of redemption as a company. If you read this? You've been warned.

    Original Review: I've had Trugreen's service for over a year now, and my lawn problems are worse now than ever before. Cost is too high, Service is lackluster, and worse yet the product doesn't seem to work. Originally, I signed up to control Crabgrass and clover on my 1-acre property. Since signing up, they came and "fertilized" my lawn a couple of times, but always seem to have an excuse as to why they can't put down "weed killer". Recently, I lodged a complaint and got their guy to come out and do a "weed killer" treatment (which they want to charge me extra for, even though they should already be doing that as part of my plan), and after a week and a half (post-treatment), the weeds never died, and new weeds seem to be growing and popping up at the same rate as prior to treatment.

    They say their product "takes time to work", and at first I was willing to buy that excuse. That being said, Scott's "Weed and Feed" works and tends to show results (especially in killing weeds) in 3 - 4 days. So why doesn't this supposedly "high-end" product and service seem to take months to work (if ever even does)? I started to suspect they were not putting weed treatment down.

    I sat and discussed my issues with the serviceman before he sprayed, and then I watched him spray the lawn, so I know he did it this time. The serviceman also said he checked my account and the "weed killer" hadn't been used on my lawn in months (just the fertilizer has been applied). But the product is now down but NOT working. Not to mention every time they come out, they try to "upsell" another service (that likely won't work), and when you call them to say "hey come out, your last treatment didn't work..." they want to charge you AGAIN for another application. Which, if their product worked and was applied correctly, wouldn't even be necessary. I will be canceling their service immediately, as it is clearly a waste of my time and money. I highly suggest not going with this service if you have other options.

    On 8/8/22, I signed a contract with TruGreen and paid upfront with credit card for a total of 9 treatments & aeration. The first service was the aeration and seeding, during which aeration, the riding aerator broke down and is questionable that the full aeration of my lawn was completed. Subsequently, a week later, a service person came and did the fertilization of the lawn. It is unknown to anyone if he also was supposed to also do grub control. The technician spread the fertilizer so heavily at places that he burned my green grass in large areas.

    A week later another technician came to apply the grub control, although he was not sure if this was applied already. This is the anarchy that exists at TruGreen. No one is in charge of the schedule or what has, or has not done before. When I called customer service to ask about the next service, the answer is "what do you want done?"

    The last technician that came to apply the grub control, also saw the burned grass because of the excessive fertilizer applied and he was in agreement that this is a big mistake while shaking his head. He took several pictures to show back to the office the damage done by the application of excessive fertilizer with the promise that a supervisor/manager was going to call me within the next 48 hours. No such luck. The technician then left without applying the grab control with the promise he will return in 2 weeks to apply the grub control. I am appalled by the fact that as soon as he left, doing nothing, TruGreen notified me and put in my account that the application was completed. What application? Furthermore, I was promised by a previous representative that the day the last technician, I was to receive a phone call from a supervisor/manager between 1-2 PM to discuss my total dissatisfaction with TruGreen. I am still waiting.

    I asked for a full refund of my paid price credited back to my credit card because none of the services performed were as contracted but instead, TruGreen close my account and no further services are scheduled. TruGreen are thieves and should be prosecuted. The aeration was not completed as promised because the equipment broke down and the fertilizer was applied so heavily at spots that it burned my grass. I want a recovery of this grass to its original state. I would like to know what happened to the pictures the last technician took? Furthermore, why doesn't a manager or supervisor has not call me, in spite of the many promises?

    These people should be prosecuted for fraud.

    I paid upfront for an entire year of ‘Mosquito Defense + Outdoor Pest Control’ treatment. Every month for four months now I have called or chatted or both with their representatives and explained to them that I have more mosquitoes and more bugs than I did the month before, every month, and I get 1 of 3 responses. 1. "You have to give it more time, call back later in the month." 2. "We can reschedule your next visit for sooner." or 3. "We can have them put some extra down the next time they come out."

    None of this works. Every month we’re getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. I have different reps contradict each other on what the ’+’ is for and what bugs or insects are included in that. I can confidently say there is no bug or insect of ANY kind in my yard that I have less of now than I did before I started using TruGreen. In my opinion, TruGreen is a straight up scam. And that is what I tell everyone that asks for my input. I’ve wasted my money. I wasted my time. And I didn’t use alternative means that probably would’ve worked because I was relying on them.

    We’ve become very unhappy with our TruGreen Tree and Shrub program. At the last visit, I spoke to the technician as he was retracting his hose about specific plants and trees I was concerned about in my backyard. The answers I was getting from him were not accurate and I suspected he was lying and did not actually treat those areas. At that time, I had no proof to challenge him. So last week, when the automatic reminder call notified me I was getting treatment that day, I decided to stop working and observe where he treated. First, upon arriving at my home, he remained in his idling truck 10 or more minutes and appeared to be looking at his cell phone.

    Second, he began to treat so I stood on my back deck waiting for him to come around the house to treat the backyard. While blocked from my view by the house, I observed his spray coming into the backyard from the gate. He sprayed basically to the limits of how far his spray would reach. Then he stopped and I assumed, okay, he’s going to come into the backyard from the other side of my home. I waited a few more minutes and he never did. So I went out front only to find him retracting his hose back into the truck. I confronted him asking why he didn’t treat the backyard, basically 2/3 of my total property. He made up a story that his computer said only to treat the front and side.

    Have to say, I wasn’t buying that. It was absolute **. We’ve used the service since 1996 and every tech before him would treat the entire property. So I was not going to argue with him but told him I was going inside to contact his boss. He got quite agitated and went back to his truck and played out the hose and proceeded to treat all of my backyard plants. Now I have to wonder how long this has been going on that I’ve been cheated out of 2/3 of my property being treated? I contacted customer service and I still await a callback from the local office. It will take a great deal of convincing and some refunds from TruGreen to convince me to continue with their service. TruGreen better get smarter….most people work from home and/or have outdoor cameras. We can see if you are cheating us on your service.

    I have had this service for approximately six months. This company has somehow managed to proliferate the weeds in my yard to the point where my lawn is now dominated by clumps of weeds. When I called for a re-service it took the poorly trained sales person much too long to give me a date. When that date rolled around I called again as I had not received notice of their visit. I was then given another date with no explanation as to why they did not appear.

    They failed to keep the second date without any explanation as to why. This time I was told a "supervisor" would mosey on out here "some time" but the "sales" person could not say when. (Notice you are only allowed to speak with sales staff.) In other words they don't care about building their customer base loyalty after they have the sale. When I called a third time and asked to speak with a supervisor the sales staff person advised they were (conveniently) unable to transfer any calls internally. After over five minutes on hold the sales person returns to tell me their weather report. It seems the weather was the cause of the no shows. It was not raining at my house on the days in question except for one day when it rained well after normal business hours. So whenever it rains anywhere that apparently is the convenient excuse for atrocious service.

    A short text message from someone who cared, with an explanation for the no show, would have gone a long way toward maintaining my customer loyalty, which this situation has thoroughly shipwrecked. But since they have my money upfront, there is no incentive to work to build and maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty. I have learned my lesson; the lesson being I would have gotten better service hiring a local teenager to do my lawn care. You should do the same.

    I had TruGreen lawn service for 1 yr. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is beyond deplorable and trying to contact a supervisor takes over 48 hrs. The only way to contact your technician is to be home the day and hour of your treatment. I had 5 different techs and each said something different regarding a weed and treatment. When you cleared your calendar to be home for the appt, the appt would get changed. I watched the techs treat my yard and it was a hap-hazard application, only one tech was thorough w/o me having to ask them to do something more. The notes left by techs on the service ticket was never on point, it was like they weren't even at my home. For the $$, it's NOT WORTH IT. The company doesn't really care about the customer and their concerns, sad. So Glad I Cancelled my service with them. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!

    Whatever they were spraying my yard with did not work (seemed diluted) and it became overcome by weeds and cinch bugs. A good section of my front yard was completely destroyed. Even the tech who regularly serviced my yard said they messed up. Manager came out a few times and promised for over a year to resod the area that didn't come back after stronger treatments then he left the company. Now I'm stuck fixing their mess. When I ended my service and explained to the customer service rep why she was very empathetic and stated someone would most likely follow up with me but nobody ever did. Save your money and use another company. They are not worth it.

    TruGreen charges on average $75 for each visit which would be fine if they completed the service advertised. I had two recent services and both found the following:

    Yard did not improve.
    Weeds did not improve.

    Color did not improve.

    When I called to ask why, they gave me the run around. I have cameras around my house. Reviewing my cameras, I found the guy sitting in truck and no activity on my lawn for the exception of leaving a note. Another time showed the fastest spray with little real effort for application. I called to complain and I get the worse customer service. They committed to sending out someone to reservice and they charged me again full price. Don't use this service. TERRIBLE!

    I have used TruGreen for years. The regular, lawn care maintenance is great. However, mosquito spraying is not. I have signed up for the 5 services of mosquito spraying 2 years in a row now, and for the 2nd year they fail to provide. This year I specifically called 2 weeks prior to a large outdoor party we were holding to make sure they treat for mosquitos the week of the party. The customer service claimed he put us on the schedule. I called the day before the party because they had not yet done the service, and their customer service rep said it was never scheduled. He then says he went to his manager and it would be done that day. It never happened! We put in 2 more phone calls after the party occurred without them treating for mosquitos, a manager never called back.

    This is the part where it gets really good. They scheduled us for 4 days after the party (I know this because I received an email saying they were on their way). As was the case this year and last, for some reason they could not perform the service and it never happened! I will definitely not be using TruGreen again. Worst customer service ever!

    We signed up for Trugreen 4/21. Our first service they did not treat our whole entire property as promised. They never showed the whole month of May, June I had to call and make sure someone was coming, they changed dates on us numerous times and I had to make sure all of property was treated as well. July they changed dates on us numerous times again and when they were schedule to come out the 27th we got a notice on the app that the tech couldn’t preform service due to US canceling appointment. Tech NEVER showed up but told office that we cancel! We then customer service to complain and to cancel ALL services because we had mosquito service as well and customer service was like, "Ok. We will get that cancelled for you." No remorse, NOTHING! DO NOT RECOMMEND this company for anybody!!

    Updated on 08/01/2022: TruGreen keeps stating "Resolution in Progress". There is none. This is false. I stand by my previous review, and am waiting for TruGreen to begin resolution. To date, they have not, despite numerous emails to the Customer Service Department. We keep getting the run-around.

    Original Review: I have to agree with the reviews here as we have also suffered damage to our lawn, negligence, lack of customer support. We have experienced the very same problems that other people have stated. I would heartily recommend that those who have been taken for a ride by TruGreen to file a complaint with the BBB and the FTC. Keep in mind, that TruGreen pays Consumer Affairs for their "review." I am also a little suspect concerning the "Resolving Issue" posted above each negative review.

    I have used them for approx. 3 years...the 1st 2 years were decent. Weeds were eliminated, and grass grew. When you had them come back out because you saw weeds, they would, but the tech got mad and INTENTIONALLY sprayed weed killer on my tree in the yard, killing it. The tree doesn't die there, but it takes a year or more before you see that it was sprayed. Then the lawn developed brown patch and they want to charge an additional fee to cure it. Duh! If you are spraying for weeds, fertilizing, lime, etc. why would not include a fungicide???? Isn't that a part of caring for a lawn??? After the 3rd year, I had to let them go. Also, they changed techs too often. It's never the same person servicing your lawn. They also leave a receipt with scientific names that the layman/homeowner can't decipher what was put on their lawn. I assume this is to keep one from knowing and learning how and when to service their own lawn.

    I began using TruGreen in the Spring of 2021. I was fairly pleased with their service for the first 6 months. As recently as May of 2022, the lawn looked OK. When I called the company to inform them that I observed one of their technicians not covering my entire lawn with the most recent application the company sent another technician out to apply a free service to my lawn. About one week after that free service approximately 80% of my lawn was dead.

    I then cancelled the service. Since that time I've had no less than 3 company reps call me and tell me that they understood my concern. They also indicated that a supervisor would be out in 1 to 2 days to observe my lawn. I even told them I would consider resigning with them if they could give me a proper resolution. NO ONE ever came. The last company rep who called me was the most infuriating person I have ever spoken with in my life and I'm 66 years old. All she kept trying to do was place the blame back on us. To whomever will listen...please, please, please, do not use TruGreen as your lawn service!!!

    I contracted TruGreen to take of my yard for a year. One "service" and I canceled them. They never showed up for the first application. I had to call them to reschedule. They missed the next service call. I called them and rescheduled. The "technician" arrived. 10 minutes into his application he informed me he had to go to the bathroom. I said, "Of course use our guest bathroom." He said it was against company policy and he would go to the gas station and be right back. He rolled his hose back up and left NEVER to come back.

    After calling Tru Green they told me my yard had been serviced completely. I explained what happened. Then re-explained to the next two people up the chain. The third person was very nice and canceled my order. Told me a regional representative would come by, never happened. This company is only in it for the money. Use Sunday products and get better results doing it yourself for 1/4 the price. Be warned.

    I’ve been a customer of Trugreen for almost a decade. For the last few years, weeds have progressively taken over my front yard. My front yard is currently +50% weeds. I have been calling and emailing monthly since last summer to have a manager come look at my yard. I also email photos of my front yard. The call center and customer service reps tell me they can’t do that and push me off to my next scheduled appointment. That’s false as I’ve been begging to have a Mgr come see my lawn. Their guarantee states they will gladly visit my property between scheduled visits to ensure satisfaction.

    I’m told each time it may take up to 8-12 weeks to see results and should give it time. When I call them back after 8 weeks to tell them the weeds haven’t even wilted, they tell me I have another appointment on schedule and will tell the tech about the issue (which they don’t). It’s a vicious cycle. Each appointment, I speak to the tech. They are unable to help me and can’t give me a name of anyone in management. But they are all dumbfounded by the amount of weeds they see. They also see my neighbor’s green yards and acknowledge my backyard looks good. I’ve been extremely patient but have reached my limit. I can not recommend this company for any services. I suspect they are watering down their chemicals. Save yourself over $700 a year and do not use Trugreen!! At this time, my only option may be to kill off the entire front yard and start over.

    I have experienced the same problem several times with TruGreen over the past two years. I prepay for lawn services to be completed four times throughout the season. There are two main problems: Fraud and Poor Business Practices. They continue to schedule me for services and then take me off the schedule for no reason. Poor business management or lack of employees? Who knows? I was supposed to have pre-emergent weed control done in Mar or April. They just never did it. Here we are in July. I have a large yard full of weeds. I called the company. They promised to send out a technician to treat them (too little, too late). I waited home all afternoon. I was home waiting.

    Nobody showed up. But, I got notified via text that the driver "just arrived" and the "service has been complete" (all within one minute, 2:11 and 2:12). He was never there. It then showed in the system that he had performed the services. This time was supposed to be "free", but it cost me a day to be home waiting for him and then hours dealing with Chem Lawn reps. The Customer Service people are international. They follow a script, "I am so sorry for your inconvenience. I will re-schedule an appointment for (some date in the future)."

    The tech did this last year and I was charged $135 for the con. Same scenario. I was home waiting for the technician to perform a fertilization service. I received a notification that he had completed the work and received a bill. When I filed a complaint with the company disputing the bill, they said, "The system shows the work was done". When I didn't pay the bill, it was sent to collections. I paid it to preserve my credit.

    It is impossible to connect to a local office. All calls are routed through a main Customer Service line overseas. I ended up speaking with someone from Trinidad! I CANNOT call the local office directly or speak with management. They promised to have a manager call me. They never have. When they have shown up in the past, they skimp on the product. They did about half my yard, skipping much of my lawn. They count on homeowners not being home. This is also the way they save money on product and keep the costs down. TruGreen Chem Lawn does not only provide a crappy service, they are dishonest and criminal.

    My experience was horrible. It all started with them saying they applied the 1st treatment. Honestly I wouldn't have know that they didn't arrive if I didn't have cameras on my house. After telling them that no one came to do the 1st treatment their excuse was perhaps they went to the wrong address, this is after a lengthy back and forth. I canceled my service with them in May after the incident. Now July I review my credit card statement. There is a charge for $136. After they promise me the account would be closed and the 1st treatment would be credited back. I never check to see if it was at that time because after several phone conversations they advised it was complimentary and I trusted their word. This morning speaking to customer service they only refunded half of the amount they took from me the 2nd time. I am disappointed to say the least. Buyer Beware.

After months of the TruHealth Lawn Plan my lawn is a giant disappointment. The Lawn looks absolutely horrible/dead and is getting worse by the day. My lawn gets the water it needs due to my irrigation system.     I would never recommend TruGreen to anyone. I had a contract with them for three years and my lawn looked the worst on the block. After complaining many times, my lawn was not getting any better. The cost for their services was not cheap and I could not understand why they did nothing to alleviate my issue after I complained. I finally terminated my contract with them and asked my lawn guy if he could help resolve the issue I was having with my lawn. Two months ago my lawn guy simply applied a fertilizer and now my lawn is greener than ever. For the first time, I am very proud of my lawn...no thanks to TruGreen.

From the first session they never came. The scam goes like this: You pay in advance, then their "technician" writes that he was at your lawn, but never comes. You call them, they say they'll send him again, and the cycle continues. After 2-3 times you call to get a refund, and they'll refund you on the REMAINER of your service after charging for the 2-3 times they "came." Do this for enough people, and you have a great scam as a source of income. Not sure how they're still in business. S-T-A-Y A-W-A-Y. I can't stress that enough.

    We switched to Trugreen after our go to company for the past 6 years no longer serviced the area. Unfortunately, Trugreen is not comparable. I have had 3 sprays so far and the Mosquitos still swarm you when sitting on the deck. When I called to discuss went to a call center out of state. As I was a current pre paid customer I was advised a message was sent to the local center and they would call me back, no one from the local branch has ever called. A sales rep from the call center did call back to sell me an add on service that she claimed would "help the situation dramatically".

    I asked to speak to the local branch for further details as I wanted to understand why it was not working, why I needed an add on service, and what was different between the last company and Truegreen. I was advised that another message was sent to them to have a manager call me....still no call. Very disappointed with the local Branch # 5030 management and the need to add a service because what they advertise as Mosquito Defense does not resolve the actual Mosquito issue by itself.

    When I signed up with TruGreen I explained to them about the awful service I had with another, national lawn care company. They assured me their service was guaranteed. One of the problems we have in our yard is moles, so grub treatment is very important. This past week our lawn was scheduled for grub treatment, herbicide, and fertilizer. The tech came out and spent 5 minutes on my .65 acre lot…over 7000 sq feet. We have 4 security cameras and I saw the tech slowly wander around, barely spraying the yard. He left an empty TruGreen door hanging envelope…no service ticket, I called TruGreen customer service and the representative actually was arguing with me about what I saw. I then called a local number and did talked with much nicer person, who did say the tech put down that he was there for only 2 minutes. She rescheduled my service.

    I want to speak with a supervisor and I have yet to hear back from them. Grub control was one of my MAJOR concerns and I absolutely did not get what I paid for this with last service. Had I not had video evidence he would have gotten away with it. Also, one thing that is always written on my service tickets by the tech in the past is, “I noticed a lot of weeds in your lawn today.” I’m paying them to clean up the weeds but it NEVER happens. Great observation! Do something about it!! Also it took several weeks to get my soil samples back…several phone calls later, they finally had them and had to come out an extra time to address a deficiency in my lawn. Individually these things are not awful, but collectively shows a pattern of a company that simply does not care about customer service. We are only halfway through the season, I really cannot recommend TruGreen.

    This company sells a product called Tru Shield. It is for mosquito defense and tick control. They sell you a service not telling you that they only go around the perimeter of your house and do not actually treat the lawn itself. Later when you question it the person doing the application tells you that it is an upgraded service - doubling your price!! Stay away from this company Customer service also stinks.

    I signed a contract for the Mosquito Defense Plan. The salesman said that this would be a monthly service and that I could call in between services if I needed a re-application because the bugs were getting bad again. The in-between services would be free of charge. TruGreen came and made the first application on 4/29/2022.

    Mid-May, I sent a chat message on the app asking for a reapplication. The rep assigned told me that she put in the request and I would have a re-application within the week. No re-application occurred. I called the toll-free number that Monday and explained that we did not receive service. They told me service is schedule for every 6 to 8 weeks. I told the rep that I was informed it was every month. The rep said I could call 3 weeks after application and get a re-application and that should get me to every 4 weeks.

    This is not what the salesman told me. I again asked for a re-application. The rep said that the schedule was full, but that they put in a message to the local branch (#5678) to fit me in. The re-application should happen within one week. The week came and went. I called again. The rep apologized, offered me a discount on remaining services, told me that there were no appointments available, he made a note for service within 7 days and said they would have the local branch manager call me within 48 hours and I should be on "stand by" for that call. No call whatsoever. I called again today. Surprise - no appointments available but she put in a message to the local branch to call me within 48 hours and for application within 1 week. That will put me at 8 weeks from last application - at this rate, my last application would be in October - when it's snowing.

    This company is a scam. They are not following through on promises. No one calls. Is there really a local branch?? If so, this manager has no customer service skills whatsoever. This is not the program that I was sold. It is a complete lie. They promise a re-service and then blatantly ignore the guarantee. I am still waiting for this "call" from the local branch that I doubt will ever come. Every time I call, there are no appointments available. Meanwhile, I dump more money into citronella candles and lawn sprays to try to enjoy my yard.

    By the way, this program costs $1,000 for the season. And I still cannot sit in my yard without donating blood. Even if they come out now, that is 8 weeks since my last treatment and I expect I will just have to chase them again to get a service next month - and I fully expect to be told "the schedule is full - I don't know why you keep dropping off their schedule - we will put a note in for the local branch to reservice you within one week".

    BEWARE - STAY AWAY! We were a first time customer and signed up for 7 treatments - 1 grub treatment and 6 fertilizer treatments. The first treatment was in mid-April. We didn't hear about the scheduling for the second treatment. We had to call in to confirm the timing, and were told a date in mid-May. That day came and went, no one showed up, and no one called us to apologize/reschedule. We called back. We were then told June 6th. We both explicitly stayed home from work to ask questions about lawn care to the technician. Again, no one showed up. Again we called. We were told "the rep never pressed confirm". We now have a window of June 12-14. Again... no one showed up. Again we called. Again Customer support told us the appointment was never scheduled.

    This is now 2 months after the first treatment. No one ever called us pro-actively and we needed to micromanage the entire relationship. We called and got a full refund for the remaining service. They're good at taking your money. They're not good at meeting commitments. As a nationally operating company, I would expect greater organization, more proactive communications, and greater reliability. Only use this service if you'd like disappointment.

    I signed up for a service for them to come up seven times the first half off at $27 and the next six at $53 and they kept calling me and bothering me to sign up. They had me under two accounts which took forever to fix and get them to stop calling me. They came out for the first of seven at half price, $27 then came out for the second and charged me for two services, $110 when I only signed up for one at $50. They told me they did two at a time so charged me for two, $110 but I signed up for one at a time not two and should have five left not four. They are dishonest about their services and do not tell you that they combine services and charge you double.

    I watched the person that was here and unless he combined chemicals he only went over my lawn spraying one time so I don't know what the two treatments were for. I immediately cancelled their service and will never use TruGreen again. After the first treatment I still had one type of weed growing over half of my lawn so I don't know what they sprayed for the first time. Maybe since it was half of treatment they only sprayed for certain weeds. Do yourself a favor and go with another service, not TruGreen, you will be wasting your money.

He applied and grass looked much better though still some brown spots he said he would plant grass later. Called TruGreen and they confirmed they would make Shelton my specialist but sent out others and now dozens of new brown spots due to new dead grass.

    TruGreen Service promised not to kill my flowers just weeds. Yea!! After first spray my plant losses I counted in 30$ and second in 100s. Took me 5 calls trying to cancel service, management kept asking to stay as customer, they will place notes and specialist will be discreet where he sprays. When specialist came he had no clue about my concerns (maybe he is not able to read?) so I walked him around my property and pointed places NOT TO SPRAY, he still did it. Now 10 years old Hardy Hibiscus bushes are curling like weeds, grape vine is dying, countless tulips. WHAT KIND OF POISON THEY ARE PLACING!!!

    Two months in a row TruGreen has sent an email saying the technician was on the way, then that the technician was there and then that the technician has completed service. The problem is that they DIDN't even show up and I'm on my front porch the whole time! A friend of mine a mile away has had the same issue. They're claiming they're spraying the lawn but there is no evidence; either signs left in yard, grass is wet or being visible entities. And the lawn still looks horrible. For those of you who trust they're showing up while you're working or out for a while or napping, you're being scammed! There are other reputable and honest companies to provide this service. Don't trust them to actually treat your lawn or even show up!

    What started out as great service turned into a nightmare. I hired TruGreen in the summer of 2020, because my previous lawn service/pest control company allowed my lawn to turn into a weed apocalypse then gave me a hard time about it. So I got someone else. And for the remainder of 2020 and for the most part in 2021, TruGreen managed to rehabilitate my very sad lawn. They were responsive, came out to re-treat when asked. They were friendly and answered questions. Life was good. Well, except that unlike 2020, TruGreen did not use TopChoice for the yearly fireant service in July 2021. They used Advion then ignored my question as to why. Mistakes happen, I know, but ignoring the question, and then not making it right? Hm. That really should have been my first clue.

    In the fall of 2021, my normally reliable single point of contact said they'd call me with a price for 2022 in mid December 2021. Mid December came and went...and my followup texts and voicemails to them went unanswered. TruGreen was MIA. The call center was perpetual holdfest, notes sent to Customer Service from the web portal were unanswered. This should have been my second hint to GET OUT. When I finally managed to get someone to respond, I got several different prices, a promise of a call back...then more silence. I eventually just pre-paid for my 3 services via my online account because I figured they'd make it right. Silly me. Hope is just another word for denial...

    Service didn't actually start until 1/17 and that was my first TruHealth lawn service for 2022. The second was on 3/8. My third TruHealth lawn service was on 4/11. [It's 5/26 as I write this.] And aside from the free re-services for weeds (3/30, 4/18, and 5/9), and the re-treatment for fireants (4/18 and 4/25) --they haven't been back. My lawn, despite supplemental irrigation and a decent amount of rain, isn't growing. It is sickly and yellowish. The only thing that IS growing are the weeds. Neighbors asked me what happened to it.

    I don't like phone calls because I prefer having a written record of interactions with vendors -- it keeps things straight. And without a single point of contact this year, I use the online account portal or email to contact CS. And every time I'd send an email to Customer Service I'd eventually get 2 different responses -- sometimes with conflicting or incorrect info. It's also important to note that their response time is at least 3-4 days IF at all. And God help you if you send more than one email. You may get multiple responses that will all contradict each other. By last weekend I'd complained about weeds (AGAIN) and questioned why they hadn't been out to do the regular service since early April and...no response. The service manager, who gave me his contact info when he came out personally to take care of fireants on 4/25, was also non-responsive though he was copied on the email.

    Yesterday was the point I decided I'd spent enough time trying to get them to perform as agreed. And I emailed that I wanted to cancel my account and have the remaining portion of my prepay ($650.67) returned to me. I got no response. So I texted the service manager and...he told me to go through the call center. Wow. So I called and managed to get to speak to someone who promised me a refund, but who didn't want to cancel my account before the refund. Oookay. She also said TruGreen would "make it right" first and get the techs out to take care of the fertilizer and the weeds and the fireants at no charge. Okay.

    She even emailed me to tell me that the refund was "in process". Cool. Then I logged in to my account and saw that a TruHealth service was scheduled for 6/1. So I emailed her and asked about it. And about details of my refund. And haven't heard back since. I followed up today. Silence. This kind of runaround is probably what you can expect. When it comes right down to it -- TruGreen doesn't give a damn about me, my lawn, or doing the right thing. And if they do it to me, they'll probably do it to you too. I need my $650.67 back. ASAP.

    Was on annual plan for 2 years and they killed my grass. Lawn looks better after 6 months of doing it myself. Then, this Spring I ordered a lawn aeration and was told it would be 5-7 days. Never happened. Called and was told 10-12 days. Never happened. It's been over a month and still hasn't happened. This was a $400 job. Called today and canceled. Had the same issues with scheduling when I was on annual program. Horrible service. Do not use!!

    I am NOT a customer of TruGreen, but when I got home from vacation and my yard was done by them (their flag in the ground) and part of my yard was now brown, I was a very unhappy non customer. I tried to contact them and talk to someone in a management position, all I could get was a run-around from customer service and them saying they are sorry. If you subscribe to them don't expect that if there is a problem to ever get to talk to the people that can make it right. Based on the pattern in my yard of the brown they don't even do a good job of your entire yard!! I'm just telling it like it is, GOOD LUCK!

    I paid for a full year service last year. The service was awful. The lawn was inundated with weeds all season. I cancelled the service for this year. I then received an email stating the tech would be at my home today. I immediately called the service number and refused service. I stated very clearly, I did not want them entering my property or providing service. The call center tech took the info, asked why I didn't wish to continue with their services and said she would be sure to cancel the treatment.

    I arrived home today to signs in my yard and a confirmation email of the services they provided today. I was Pissed!! I called the service number again and today's call center rep said there was no record of yesterday's call and that approved the continuation of services by not cancelling then said I had approved it in an email last month. **! If my lawn burns out from being over-fertilized I'll be seeing them in small claims for the funds to replace my lawn with another service provider.

    We signed up in January 2021 and prepaid in advance for a year, which is 8 lawn services. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th services I had to call to find out when we were scheduled because a lot of time had gone by. I was told we weren't even scheduled, so the dispatcher went ahead and took care of it while on the phone with her. That was fine. In December 2021, the tech had to come back because I called complaining that he didn't even do our backyard, and the reason I know this, is because our backyard camera never picked up any motion back there.

    If he DID go back there, then he only did the HALF that the camera doesn't show. On April 27th 2022, our LAST service, we were both home, so I figured he'd do a thorough job, knowing we were home... NOPE! We watched him spray the upper half of backyard. Ummmm... We paid for the WHOLE front and back yard, why is it okay to just spray the upper half of the back yard? We canceled future services that day. You have to make sure you cancel service, or they will automatically renew you!

    This company is a money-stealing FRAUD!!! My husband and I called TruGreen NJ on March 8th because we had ants in the house and wanted treatment for that and for mosquito removal. We stressed to the rep that we were looking to start service asap. He quoted us a price for the summer, it included 5 treatments, and we paid right away for the entire service (we were not given another option). He told us that the company was very big on customer service and that if they sprayed and bugs and mosquitos were back the next day, they would come out the very next day and spray again at no additional charge, etc. Everything sounded awesome.

    A few weeks passed and there was no service. We reached out to the rep, who apologized and assured us everything would be taken care of and he would make sure we got service set up immediately. Ok, great. Except, more time passes and still nothing. We called again. This time, the rep claimed that the phone number on our account was incorrect and told us some number we've never heard of. Anyway, he claimed to correct the error and once again promised that we would have service sent to our house within a day or two. No service was ever received, almost 2 months later.

    At this point, the rep stopped responding to texts and voicemails. When we called the main line on Thursday, the automated system said we were scheduled for service today, April 25th. I feel it is almost redundant at this point of me to say that this service never happened. We called the main line again. Of course a representative is never available. Now, the line says we are due for service this coming Friday. The only problem is that I don't trust I will ever receive this service anymore. We paid almost $500 and have yet to see anyone come to our house.

    I cannot talk to anyone that’s involved with treatment on my yard & I only can talk to customer service representatives & I can only call a 800 number. I just want to speak to a supervisor for my area but that’s impossible. I was late answering a call on Monday & I had no way to contact that person back. They left no voice mail & information that I could return their call. I haven’t received 1 call since the missed call Monday morning. I guess they give you one chance to answer to resolve my issue but want me to give them multiple chances to get it right. I have 3 properties that I am paying for & 2 were gifts 1 to my son & his wife & 1 to my daughter & her husband. They are complaining to me about their yards & how the neighbors that get no treatment looks better than their yard. I have wasted so much money, time, & energy on TruGreen services.

    First-year customer with Trugreen, I purchased the lawn care and the mosquito care plans. For the first mosquito service, the service technician stopped by to drop a flag on my property but never delivered service, and of course, they had the audacity to bill me. Called them and canceled the service. For my lawn service, I prepaid for the whole year (Mistake). My lawn is full of weeds, and when I chatted with them online, I was on hold for 15 minutes only to be told we will make sure we address it on the next service (it should've been done on the first service and weed shouldn't get root in my yard...) What a rip-off, stay away, they promise too much and deliver miserable service.

    The service guy came, and returned with out servicing. I get an automated message saying unable to service, back yard door locked. First of all the door was not locked just need to push. The other thing how dumb of the person who came not to ring the doorbell, someone was home. The company can send an automated message saying cannot service, but they cannot send a message saying hello, is someone home, or we are unable to service, before the the service guy just walks off with out servicing. Bad first experience, I was thinking of canceling the contract, but I am being patient to see how the year service goes by

    After buying my home last fall, I contacted this company to let them know we were NEW owners. In spite of this, last week they came onto my yard and left signs that they had sprayed it. When I called, the customer service person could not find my account (probably because I didn’t have one), and could not tell me what was done. Said he’d check and call back but didn’t. Next day my husband called and got someone who said they used a fertilizer and a “preemergent weed killer”,,, in other words, I’m thinking it’s GLYPHOSATE, a known carcinogen and one we would NEVER approve using on anything. Appalled that they continued the service from previous owners with NO ORDER from us. Now my dog has been sick since they were here. Btw, the company name is incredibly misleading. Since they use glyphosate, they’re anything but true green.

    My lawn was in good condition, when I hired this company there was some wild grass starting to pop up. First issue is the inexperienced staff they send out. Second issue is I could see on camera that they didn't service the entire lawn during one of the visit; response was, "We will talk to them" rather than come back out to remediate. Thirdly, I opted for no notification of service beforehand and by doing that they claimed no responsibility for adding a chemical that completely killed all the fescue seed. They should know the fall is the time to seed the grass. Is this not the expertise they are hired to possess? Spoke to management and they would not even pay to reseed. The soil is so bad now and most all the grass gone that I had to invest in installing new sod. Avoid this company. Do not be fooled by the commercials and what seems like a good price. You will pay far more in the end.

    The first time they provided service, I watched them on my camera fertilize the house across the street. They went to the wrong house. I brought this to their attention stating this was unacceptable and needed to be corrected. I also alerted the neighbor that they presumably got fertilized. TruGreen returned a week later for a “free” service. To make it right. We have 3/4 acre of lawn. They not only purposely ignored over 1/2 of the lawn, they also NEVER went back to the truck to refill their spreader. My cameras showed an empty spreader for 90% of the time they were spreading. Furthermore, my cameras have him starting the job at 12:29 and finished, back to the truck, at 12:35. Six minutes to fertilize 3/4 acres. No spreader refills and intentionally neglecting more than 1/2 of our lawn (with a fake empty spreader). These people are the most dishonest service providers I have ever worked with.

    I have unfortunately used Tru Green for about 3 years now. I first used them for lawn care, they aerated my lawn and ripped it to shreds including ripping my landscaping lights out of the ground. After calling their customer service department countless times they never sent anyone to fix the problem or did any follow up at all, just completely dismissed the issue even though the tech that did it , reported it to them while at my house. I was stuck with fixing the issue myself at my own expense.

    I also this year had a new tech come for my tree and shrub service I stupidly kept, they send new techs almost every couple times, whatever they sprayed has killed my 15 year old evergreens and all my Azalea bushes, nice!!! I have been calling customer service for 2 weeks now , they have promised 6 times now someone from the local office will call me, they never do, same as last time. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL BE SORRY.!!!

    Last year we had treatment for bugs in the lawn. The next day, the grass started to turn brown. I put the sprinklers on and the water would not absorb because the ground was like cement, just laid on top. Despite numerous calls to local and regional TruGreen, I was told to call the main office. I did that and they said somebody would come out, and nobody did. I kept calling every few days and then they ghosted me. Our yard is still without grass or vegetation. TruGreen says they guarantee that you are satisfied or they will 'make it right'. When they did not respond, after a month and a half, I reversed the charges. Now they have put it into a collection agency. On Feb 3 I finally reached a man at TruGreen, named Matt. He assured me they would resolve the collection issue, but they have not done so.

I'm retired so I witnessed a few times that they came, mostly sat in their truck then made two or three quick passes, spent maybe two minutes in the application put out the signs and left. I jumped through all these hoops to cancel at the end of summer, well here they were yesterday, unannounced, made an application and charged my debit card. I called and was told that my card would not be charged, that I would receive a bill and would give me a discount. Not true, there is a full charge on my debit card this morning.     Started with TruGreen mid summer 2020. I liked the updates and what was done with the lawn. Winter of 2020/21, I start getting invoices. Call customer service. Very polite people, definitely working the upsell though. The invoice was over $800. I paid $300 the previous year. I talked with the rep for roughly an hour to get the invoicing straightened out and also got the price dropped to $350. Same thing this year. $800+ invoice. I call again. Waste an hour of my life with their CSA who has to talk with a manager about authorizing a price. This time they wouldn't budge. Sorry, you need to be competitive with other lawn care services as well as the homeowner doing it himself. Which is what I'll be doing.

    My experience with this company has been most frustrating. Depending upon the tech which they send out you can get honest and dependable service. Yesterday's service was more typical. I get a call from Trudy that they will do two services the next day...tree fertilization and horticultural oil. I'm home on the day they arrive so decide the watch the techs in action. The first tech shows up for tree fertilization, and the guy is a geezer just like me and it looks like he's going to die carrying around that hose. I have an acre yard with a lot of trees and after about five minutes in the back yard, looks at the remainder of the 15 trees in the back yard, gasps, and just decides not to do it. Also misses the one tree in distress in my front yard. Takes off about 25 minutes after arriving, at least half of which is rolling up the hose and writing the service ticket.

    I then get a call from Trudy saying that Joseph has cancelled my second treatment the horticultural oil treatment because of "weather conditions" and will reschedule. Nonetheless at 345 the same day, a Friday afternoon, I see one of their techs rolling into my driveway (ignoring the no trucks sign) and it's Joseph, another senior citizen who should retire, or as I like to call him "Quick Draw" who I've mentioned to the company before, and specifically telling them I did not want this guy on my property. His specialty is spending as little time as possible doing the actual job and spending as much time sitting in his truck checking his mobile phone. He points his sprayer in the general direction of his targets, hitting some, missing most. His printer is always broken and never leaves a ticket. Alas, he "services" my one acre property in his usual 8 minute treatment and then retreats to the truck to check the cell phone.

    After reviewing the comments on this site I now believe that this company is nothing more than slick marketing (PGA Tour marketing, etc.) which beguiles its customers into thinking they are getting something they can trust. Now I feel I have to watch them like a hawk to avoid being ripped off. A service manager is supposed to contact me, but the problem is bigger than that I fear.

    We are so frustrated and feel completely disrespected by this company. My husband has been asking for a solution for the past 6 months. After multiple, admitted errors on their part (in writing and by phone), our lawn has continued to be a disgusting dirt patch. After they killed everything in our yard, we had to pay a different professional to have our yard re-seeded. My husband called to inform True Green and shared specific instructions (e.g. not to spray pre-emergent) and they have sprayed it multiple times since then, which stopped the new grass seed from taking/growing.

    Each time, the person looking in the system acknowledged that these notes were captured on our account! Most recently, my husband gave them additional chances to remediate the situation (something they claimed to be working on) because we were in a time crunch and selling our house. We did not receive any solution or even an explanation as to why they were unable to assist. The focus of our battle will now solely be on getting reimbursed for the money we’ve spent servicing our own lawn, since our actual lawn servicing company has refused to help! We will make it very clear to all perspective buyers that the state of the lawn is due to these admitted errors by Tru Green.

    Also, in closing, here are a couple things we’ve learned: 1-When you call the main customer service line and they finally agree to have a supervisor/manager contact you, they will not provide a direct call back number should you miss the call. The whole process starts back over. It is the equivalent of calling in to a cable company and having to start over every time.

    2-the people that come out to complete the service seem not to have any access to the notes in the system! My husband has ran out to greet and check in with the last couple technicians only to find that their order was completely different than what was decided over the phone. One time, they told us they would be sending a manager to discuss next steps/ways to fix it, and they just sent a regular tech out who immediately began spraying without knocking on the door because he obviously had no knowledge of what was “scheduled” on the phone. He stopped as soon as my husband came out and explained the situation and apologized for the miscommunication. This is never their fault; the techs are usually so nice and understanding, but the company literally sets them up for failure due to their ineffective system. Overall, we are so upset that this company has added so much stress to an already stressful period of time.

    TruGreen serviced my home in two different locations and while providing services in CT they attempted to seed my yard in 100 degree weather. I tried to stop it with no success. When I complained I was charged (twice), blamed, and for over 8-months I have tried to resolve the billing. I canceled the services and was contacted with a very rude person. I received a call from TruGreen corporate telling me they would finally credit me and they apologize; then another call a few days later telling me that they didn't make any billing or service mistakes and would not be credited. I have showed bank statements, documented conversation and still this nonsense. I have contacted the BBB and soon legal counsel. I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS UNPROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION.

    This year I wanted to get professional help with my yard since the last couple of years my lawn wasn’t looking so great. I decided to go with the True Green True/Complete Lawn Service. They said the first service is 50% off. They also said the aeration was a separate service. 2 days after signing up they scheduled 2 visits for one day. I have cameras installed around the whole house. In the morning, the technician performed the aeration. It seemed ok but I wish he hit the small part of grass on the other side of my driveway. I was good with the service though.

    Later in the afternoon a technician arrived and I monitored while they took 2-3 minutes with a spreader for both front and back yard. I really did not feel confident about the quick trip around the front and back. The technician was at my house probably for a total of 10 minutes but about 3-4 of them was outside of the truck. Then I got 3 invoices. 1 for aeration, 1 for potash service using a spreader, and 1 for the true complete service using the spray with what I’m guessing is fertilizer and pesticide.

    Well, as you can read, I did not see any type of spraying being done. I called and they tried telling me I received 3 services today. I literally have it all on camera that the afternoon technician only used a spreader for about 3 minutes and left. They ended up setting up the spray service 2 days later. They called it “free service.” How in the world is it free service when they already charged me for something they didn’t do. Also the promotion is 50% off for the first service but on the very first day they provided 3 separate services which ended up being around $230.

    The aeration was about $150 and you only get 50% off of one of the other services. That was very sneaking of them but if that’s how they do business, ok then. The point is if I didn’t have cameras I would have never caught them charging me for a service that they did not do. So now that I read a bunch of other reviews with similar stories, it is not a lie. I’m off to a really bad start with True Green. I have 7 more services this year. Hopefully they can turn it around but my first impression of them is not good at all and I am already regretting the move to use a lawn service this year.

    People it’s almost spring time, DO NOT attempt to call TruGreen. You will be so disappointed, they will keep coming unannounced and don’t do the job, just sit in the truck and leave a sign in your yard. I have seen them on my CPI camera and neighbors have witnessed also. They will say they’ve down your front and back yard when they don’t go around the back. Every time you call for a manager, they say the manager will give you a call but never do. DO NOT go with trugreen!!!

    I had my tree and shrubs application done by TruGreen on 12/10/21, few days later my shrubs discolored and then died, after multiple calls a tech was sent, he stated it was not due to the application. But I have had previous service and nothing happened to my shrubs. Fast forward 1/11/22, tree and shrubs application was done and now rest of my shrubs are discolored and appear to be dying the rest that was not affected with the December treatment. I have called multiple times to speak to trugreen regarding my dissatisfaction. Please be careful with this company.

    I received a text stating that the technician had arrived at my residence. My wife was home and I told her to watch them because they are known for not doing any work. I also watched through my Ring camera as the truck was parked in front of my home for about 6 minutes when I received another text that the work was completed. I watched the technician as he got out of his truck and placed a sign in my yard. Then he got in the truck and drove away. I then received a 2 page report of all the work that was done to my yard. It's amazing that he did all of that and never left his truck! Really gifted technicians with super powers. Don't they know this is the age of cameras? LOL.

    I hired Trugreen to fertilize three of my customers' lawns (I own a lawn care biz). They did not service my customers' lawns in a timely manner at all. Then, to make matters worse, the commercial person in charge at my local office (Springboro Ohio) lied to me several times about this issue. I then went over his head and the general manager was just as bad. They don't care about their customers at all. All they care about is making money. Don't hire them.

    I work from home and watch the TruGreen "specialists" when they are supposed to be treating the lawn which is in the back and the front of the house, as well as a small side portion. There have been times that the specialist never leaves their truck except to put a notification on my door. Some of the specialists walk to the back of the house and spray in one small area. They are not treating the grass with as much fertilizer as they are stating on their invoice.

    TruGreen is a complete waste of money. We bought a house last year and pre-paid for a season of Tree + Shrub service and the TruHealth Lawn Plan. They came but it honestly looks like nothing is ever done. They spray the yard and everything looks exactly the same. We still have weeds. They won't let you cancel online and make you talk to someone. Whenever anyone calls they call from a 1-800 # so you can never get ahold of your sales rep directly. This business is terrible and I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone I know.

    This was the worst experience we had so far. We were promised and paid for the complete lawn care which is almost $800. The first treatment was a fertilizer and something that was supposed to make some changes to our lawn and remove the weed, but it exactly did the opposite and we have more weed now. Then they came for overseeding and aeration, we accidentally noticed that they are not going to overseed because they don't have Bermuda seed at all. They didn't tell us that when they wanted to charge the complete money. Their specialist said, "You go buy the seed yourself and apply it to your lawn yourself." We want our money back but when we called and asked for a manager they didn't escalate us and promised us a call from a manager. We received a call from a help desk again but they didn't put a manager online to respond. This is fraud. They will not give you the service they promised and they are not responsive.

    Spoke to Yolanda to cancel our service. She was nice at first. However now she is telling us what the company "can't do" for us and there is no one higher than her to speak to or email. TruGreen has used chemicals that have ruined our lawn. We have called on these issues prior and the last time, a gentleman came out from Fellsmere on his day off and he admitted TruGreen was using chemicals on our lawn that ruins it and burns it. TruGreen always comes when it rains. We have been told not only by TruGreen's very own landscaper but other landscapers that this should not be happening and the chemicals used are ruining our lawn. The man that was here from Fellsmere said he took pictures and sent them in and made note that the chemicals are indeed ruining our lawn. Not only are we not paying for today's service, we are seeking our money back for each time TruGreen came out after the man from Fellsmere came. This is unacceptable.

    Years ago I hired TruGreen for myself and later bought lawn service for a friend, whose husband had passed away. It seemed very simple. I paid for her service, and TG was to treat my friend's lawn. Instead, I entered a billing and notification nightmare and lost countless hours of my life trying to straighten that out. What felt like thousands of calls and lost time, I finally found a fabulous women at the corporate office who was able to eventually fix the billing vs. the actual site of the 2 DIFFERENT addresses of the lawn care sites. Believe me, it was not easy to obtain that information and that was about 7 years ago-now I'm sure it would be IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone in the head offices. I gave them another chance, as the woman had been so helpful. Stupidly, I later deleted her contact info.

    Fast forward to last year when their lawn tech failed to diagnose Chinch Bugs in our lawn, and we were told it was our irrigation system. We invested a good amount of money in our irrigation system, changing to larger heads, etc., all the while our lawn continued to die. Once again, many calls later with an impossible system to actually talk to anyone, we finally got someone else to look at our lawn.

    The whole thing about TG is if you have a problem, they will return to your property and correct the problem--DO NOT BELIEVE THAT. We learned our lawn tech was no longer working for them, but by then, a good portion of our lawn was completely dead. What seemed like a gazillion calls and hours later, no call backs, being on hold, leaving messages, they came and reseeded our lawn but and I had to lose another portion of my life calling TruGreen to ensure that our lawn would be treated for Chinch bugs at no cost, all the while, our lawn looked like crap.

    This past spring I lost several more hours of my life calling TG to adjust my billing. Then this year, with Covid Restrictions opening up, my husband and I were out of town a good portion of the summer but either came home to water or had our sprinkler system on. I assumed TG was tending our lawn during this time. Then, over a month or so ago, (August) portions of our lawn began dying off. I thought we may have Chinch bugs again. Around the same time I got an overdue bill from TG for $137.00. I called and asked them to send an itemized bill, as I had no idea what the $137.00 was for. I was told I now had paperless billing. I never received a bill. I then got a letter from TG saying they were turning me over to a collection agency. I thought my head would explode.

    I called TG to learn that they had signed me up for paperless billing, which I had no idea they had done and never agreed to. I pay my bills as soon as I receive them and this made me crazy. I had always prepaid TG except for the years their billing was so bad that I paid by check with each service rendered, in order to make sure it was accurate.. I called TG and spoke to someone named Chris that told me my account had been closed for non-payment, so they couldn't send anyone out to look at my dying lawn. I explained I had excellent credit and that the reason I hadn't paid my bill was that I NEVER received a bill and STILL had not, despite the fact, that I had requested a copy of the itemized bill.

    I told him I had paid the $137.00 to avoid TG totally ruining my excellent credit record. He said they had received the payment but because I had been turned over to the credit agency, I was a credit risk and I would have to PRE PAY and open up a new account. What EVER you do-save yourself countless hours of grief and find someone else. Life is for living and you will want to explode if you hire this corporate nightmare of a company-think of a Guinea Pig in a wheel. That is what it feels like to be a TG customer....except you are screaming.

    The first treatment was great. I met the Tech and he seemed very knowledgeable. Then after that it all went south. I received bills where the truck stopped out front of my house then bang I get a text "your service was complete" and he drives off without getting out of the truck. Come on who are you trying to fool? Everyone has cameras. I have witness them stopping and writing a bill and leaving more than once. I witness them stopping and spraying a small area of my yard then leaving in less than 10 minutes. I live in Adams County Pennsylvania and the service here is questionable. Yes after many complaints about leaving without doing a service, they do eventually come out and they do service your lawn but you have to watch them like a hawk. Oddly enough I still haven't canceled but once I find a competitor that can provide quality service I most likely will.

    Worst customer service experience ever. I was hung up while obtaining a quote and threw their flyer in the trash. I received a call back from a different representative that apologized and heard me out, most companies don’t care enough to try to save a customer but I would have been better off. After explaining my needs - my lawn died in some areas due to sprinkler failure and that I was capable of maintaining my lawn, I just needed help bringing these dead patches back to life - and $450 later, I was excited to see my lawn that had several dead patches come back to life.

    Every time a service was made or an interaction on the phone was made, everyone at TruGreen seemed to be confused about what was sold to me and what they needed to do. I was then called about scheduling aeration services which I then explained again that my back lawn was only 3 months old. Wouldn’t need it. After realizing my front lawn may be included in that service, I called back inquiry about them doing aeration on the front lawn only, especially since I was sold it and told that it was part of my package - the whole reason they were calling me in the first place. So I called back and got Jadeelia from TruGreen on the phone. She was pleasant enough and explained that the aeration was cancelled and so if I wanted the front lawn done, it would be an additional $200.

    Confused, I asked why they would be calling me to schedule a service that wasn’t included in my service package and she then explained it was never part of it in the first place. I then attempted to explain that the services they have provided weren’t helping at all and she then kept talking over me and interrupted saying that they don’t help bring dead grass back to life, they only help the soil the maintain an already established lawn and it would only help with weeds. Not reviving my grass, ironically I was sold the “revival plan”.

    After inquiry why I was sold this bill of goods, she then interrupted me again, speaking over me before I was finish. I then got upset and said loudly (so she could hear me over her own voice) that “I am not done speaking, do you always talk over your customers when they’re trying to explain an issue to you?!” In which she replied, “are you always a rude person?” I responded, “me pointing out that you speaking over me and interrupting me while I’m explaining a concern is rude of me??” I promptly asked to speak to a supervisor in which she said she’d have to see if the manager wanted to speak with me.

    After a minute, she came back on the line and said that her manager didn’t want to speak with me because she was busy doing paper work. I then started to explain what had happened from being hung up, to being sold a package that didn’t fit my needs and once again, talking over me, Jadeelia from TruGreen “that’s not my fault.” I then replied, “I’m not saying it’s your fault, I’m trying to explain my experience with TruGreen from a customer point of view, do you not care?” She said “I do care but that’s not my fault.” I said, "Forget it and give me a refund." Do not use this company. It is the worst company you could ever deal with. Save your money for someone that cares about their customers. What a terrible experience. Wish I could give less than one star.

    Trugreen's preemergent weed treatment appointment was due on August 20, 2021. They came and fertilized my yard instead. I called and requested the preemergent weed treatment. Appointment was made. They never came. They claimed that a pet scared them away. I told them I don't own a pet. I made another preemergent weed treatment appointment. I called the at 9AM morning of appointment. I was told 2 hours. They continued to tell me two hours until 5PM.

    Finally, a Trugreen man arrived. He told me that he could NOT treat for preemergent because he ran out of chemical. He asked if I wanted my lawn fertilized. I told him no thank you. He said, "I'll be here tomorrow and I'll apply preemergent." He never showed. I made another appointment. I call at 9AM morning of treatment appointment. They told me one hour. Later they said between 11AM-1PM. At 2PM they said later today. They never showed. Will appointment 6 be a waste of time again? Updates coming..

    I was signed up with another lawn care service that sold/merged with TruGreen. No notification - one day TruGreen just started showing up. Since then, my backyard is completely dead! The other provider did a nice job! They had eliminated most of the weeds and the backyard was getting thick and green. Now I have dead thatch all over the place and when I rake it I get bald spots. I called to schedule an appointment for someone to come out and they told me they can't schedule an appointment. Then I ask to speak with a manager or supervisor and they tell me I can only speak with them. I have no idea what I'm being billed. My grass is dead....and no one will call me to discuss this. Do yourself a favor - just buy Scott's and do it yourself!

    This company merged with another lawn care company who I had ended my relationship with because they were caught lying about treating my lawn. TruGreen Now threatening collection on services never performed and I have video proof and texts to owner of other company. Stay far far away!! Awful.
