    Thank you. Seems like most of the what was killed out was crabgrass and not bermuda. Didn't realize I had so little bermuda and so much of the crabgrass. Planting some seed and hoping for a better lawn.

    I used Trugreen in the past but did not use them last year due to cutting back on our budget. This past January, they called offering us a special to return to them. They applied an application in February and then in March or April. Our lawn is a hot mess now. They killed our bermuda grass and we have a mud field in the backyard when it rains. They claimed they did not do it but clearly you can see the distinct brown line running down the property line between our yard and our neighbors. We have a pool in our backyard and dirt and water from the pool is going to create a muddy field for us. This is totally uncalled for especially since I was told by Trugreen to let the bermuda take over as a maintenance free lawn for our yard, which has lots of sun. My neighbor up the street had Trugreen treat her lawn and the same thing happened to her's only mine is much worse. I wish Trugreen would offer us a remedy but they seem to be ignoring us saying they don't know what happened. It's obvious what happened. You messed up our yards. Come fix it.

    FINALLY got a response from the local Office in Texas. Thanks to the customer service rep in Utah call center. A lady by the name of Nancy worked VERY HARD and got RESULTS. Soon I will have a lawn replanted. KUDOS to NANCY. Thank you so much.

    I called the 800 number of TruGreen for information about having just my front lawn sprayed and talked to a salesman (I believe his name was Sam). He told me the call would be recorded and I agreed, yet at times he would tell me he was going to stop recording because this part of our conversation did not need to be recorded. During our non recorded conversation, we discussed what type of grass I had, the size of my front lawn and what did I expect to achieve with their service, which is a healthier, thicker lawn was most important. After explaining that I wanted just my front lawn sprayed with a fertilizer and for insects, he said his was now going to record the items we discussed while not being recorded. The only option that was ever mentioned was a program that cost $91.00 (which I found out later that there were many different programs). I was told someone would call or an email would be sent to advise us when a service was to be performed.

    Apparently on 4/22/2014, a service was performed spraying my entire front and rear lawn. After 2 days of my lawn being sprayed, my grass was brown and completely dead within 5 days. I called customer service and explained about my grass dying on the third day and also explained that I only wanted my front lawn ONLY treated, not my entire lawn. After about a week or so, I received a phone call from a manager saying he was going to get with his general manager to see what could be done. I told the manager I wanted whatever it takes to repair their mistake. A few days later, I was told the lawn would be reseeded at their expense and was asked what type of seed did I use to plant it originally. I told the manager I used Scotts Slopemaster seed. From that point on, I have been getting excuse after excuse as to why my lawn has not been reseeded.

    On 5/19/2014, I sent an email to the manager, an email letting him know I will have someone reseed my lawn and that I was tired of waiting and he needs to find out how they can reimburse me for the cost of the seed. Since that email I have had NO other response, by phone or email. I am also calling my credit card company to dispute the charge(s) on my credit card. Next time I will do "my homework" prior to doing business.

    2/27 first lawn treatment. 3 weeks later, all 23 of my wax leaf privet hedge were dead. 3/25, I told my specialist Jason. He came out, said he would put a request in for his manager. Several messages with no call back later, Nathan comes to evaluate. He says it obvious what has happened and apologizes. He wants to do a heavy fertilizer and see if that works. We would know within 2 weeks if it brings them back. He assured me if it doesn't he will have them replanted by the end of April.

    4/22, I called Jason and told him no sign of life. He would talk with Nathan and get back with me. After several messages to Nathan, he returned my call on 5/5. He was sorry for the delay, wasn't sure how many bushes I had. I confirmed 23 wax leaf privet. He said he would pickup the plants himself and have them installed by the end of the week.

    5/14, received auto call for lawn treatment next day. I called headquarters and said I did not want lawn service until they took care of the shrubs. Meredith put lawn service on hold. I also left a message with Jason. 5/15, Jason treated the lawn. 5/15, I left a message for Nathan and his manager Blake ** to call me about my service. 5/16, Matt the landscaper left me a message that they are waiting on more plants.

    Hmmm, Where to begin? We had a great big green Bermuda lawn with a few weeds in it. So when the neighborhood association put out a notice that they were going to create an award for the best lawn, I thought I would do my part. I called the "experts", In comes TruGreen. Sign up for the year they said. "We are the experts," they said. After the first treatment we noticed that the weeds were not having any reaction to the treatment, however the grass was dying. We called and notified them. "Don't worry, we are on the job," they say. "We will come and treat your lawn again. That should do it." Well it did. The second treatment killed more of our lawn and increased the weeds! Again we called. "Please send a supervisor out to look at what is going on."

    By the way, we told them to stop treating the lawn at this point and they said they would. But they came again a third time and treated it. They said, "we are so sorry this is happening. Of course we will take care of the issue. Even if we have to re-sod the area where the grass has been killed off, we will take care of it. A supervisor will call you by the end of the day." A few days pass and no call. We called again. "We are sorry this is happening to you, we are on it right now. I'm getting in touch with the local manager and the general manager," they say. "You should hear back by the end of the day. No later than tomorrow morning." The next day, nothing. Finally someone calls and said that they would be out to inspect the lawn. "I will be out on Thursday" he said. The Wednesday before he comes out to look at the lawn, guess what? They treat the lawn again! We come home to find a TruGreen sign stuck in our muddy yard, with a treatment card.

    So Thursday rolls around and someone comes out to view our lawn. He said things like, "Wow, I have never seen this before, this is bad". "Your lawn is dead, but the weeds are alive". "I have never seen this, I have to get with my supervisor to see what he thinks." Well, after several days of calling and trying to get back in touch with them, they finally called back and I just finished talking with the guy that came out to see the lawn. Or mud and weeds I should say. He said, "I'm sorry but we have determined that your lawn didn't make it through the winter." "It's not our fault." My neighbors are all wondering what happened to our lawn. I just leave the TruGreen sign in our yard and say, "That's what happened to it".

    A couple of positive things have come out of this. I have only had to cut the lawn one time this year. At that was before they treated it. And 2nd is, they did say they will refund my pre-paid amount because they were not able to kill the weeds. My suggestion is to NEVER use this company. If you want something to not grow in your lawn, ask TruGreen to come over and not treat that area. That will be a sure fire way of getting it killed. I wish I would have read these complaints before I had the "experts" treat my lawn.

    I really need my lawn to have professional care. It's big & I do not have time. I discussed my needs with them in the Fall of '13 and they made me so mad, I refused to accept their calls anymore. They had no idea what they were talking about, would not listen when I told them they were grossly underestimating the size of my lawn and all they were concerned with was getting my credit card number. They did not want to discuss any of the specifics of what they were going to do. This Spring I tried again and got more of the same and they still were not even close on the square footage.

    I'm in New Hampshire and they kept telling me I should have started applications in March. We still had snow on the ground in April but they did not seem to 'get it'. Then a 'sales manager' called me back a couple days later. All he wanted was for me to sign up for the premium plan and pay in advance. He would have made a used car, salesman blush with his smarmy one-liners. I will be doing it myself.

    TruGreen treated my Centipede and St. Augustine lawn for approximately the past year. This Spring the lawn did not green back up. It had apparently died over the winter. Parts of the lawn are desperately trying to survive but my front yard is a total loss. TruGreen does not return phone calls. I have been able to meet with a manager once. He acknowledged the problem but never apologized. He said he would need to talk to his manager, but I never heard back. Beware! If these folks mess up, they disappear!

    I have received junk mail from TruGreen beginning last year when I purchased a new house. This year, once again the junk mail began to show up right before grass cutting season. I have never contacted TruGreen which you would think should tell them I do not want their services and yet yesterday, 5-15-2014 one of their salesmen decides to show up at our home. My wife was home and watched as he rang the doorbell and when no one answered "Fred" phone number ** decides to trespass on my property and check out my Crabapple trees in the front yard. He then leaves his trash at my door informing me the trees are in trouble and to "Look at the Leaves".

    I had a tree expert come out last year when we purchased this house and all he said was the ground should be loosened up a bit and some of the branches should be trimmed. This year I sprayed the trees on two occasions for Bagworms and both trees bloomed out and were beautiful. Now this TruGreen wannabe expert tells me they are in trouble.

    I called their main number 800-790-8596 and told them I do not want anyone coming to my property ever again. I also asked why this Fred guy even took it upon himself to go into my front yard and look at anything without my permission. She just said he was on a sales call and could do what he wanted to. Excuse me? TruGreen has quite a few bad reviews and I have given them another for giving me an unsolicited stop by my house. I can just imagine what my lawn and trees would look like if I actually let them onto my property. Do me a favor TruGreen and stay away from my property!

    TruGreen gives us excellent education on what we want from our lawn. They also maintain our lawn treatment plan as discussed. I think the value is good because our lawn looks much better than it did before TruGreen. There are some mistakes with documentation/receipts -- listing our treatment as pesticide when we get natural organic.We wish TruGreen could do landscaping since they are so good with lawns! But we understand -- focus on what you do well!

    I hired them and told them specifically not to treat my backyard - only the front and sides. I have small dogs that use the backyard that are older and I did not want to expose them to chemicals. I got home today, 5/15/14, and saw that they came and treated the front and sides. I opened up my back door to let the dogs out and saw the "lawn treated" sign in the back and could smell the chemicals. They had been there 5 minutes before I got home and there were my dogs in the yard. I fired this mickey mouse company on the spot and demanded my money back. Maybe they should hire people who can read or who give a crap!! Don't ever use TruGreen, their employees don't care - just spray and move on. JERKS!

    TruGreen service persons are always friendly and helpful. I often wonder how they manage to get all they accomplish done so quickly and without fuss. My lawn is becoming more and more weed free - and given the hardships that the clay soil and shaded area cause, I have a greener lawn than I could otherwise expect. Routine service calls are scheduled for me and, since I have an accessible yard, I never even have to think about lawn care. Just one less item to worry about! The sum total is that I still think this is a good bargain, and I come from a generation of notoriously tight fisted consumers!

    I started using TruGreen in the 2014 season. Big mistake. After two treatments and a respray I wondered why I was not seeing results. Being a certified applicator myself I know it does not take that long if the proper treatment is done. But on the third treatment I found out why I was not seeing results - because the technician was not actually spraying my yard, just leaving me an invoice. Both I and my neighbor witnessed this so I called into the local office immediately and was told that I would receive a phone call the same day from the manager, which I did not. So I called back the next day and was assured I would receive a phone call but did not. Finally I received a call three days later and was told I was lying about what has happened. So I canceled my service and now I will be taking the next step to receive my money back. Don't use this company.

    I have been trying to get TruGreen to get rid of the weeds on my yard for over two years. They faithfully retreat and the weeds remain. Now something has changed and I have been between 15 and 30 minutes to get through to someone. I even called the commercial phone number and was immediately answered to be told they could not help me, but they could have someone from the residential department call me back. They never did. Eventually I did get through. A manager even came out and explained they can get rid of the weeds that I have in my yard. They retreated again. This time, I was home and watched the service person walk across my yard leaving long gaps between the areas he walked. After seeing this firsthand, I know why I still have weeds in my yard with TruGreen. I am now in the process of contacting other companies that my neighbors use. One said he had the same bad experience with TruGreen.

    A salesman visited us 2 weeks after we bought our house. He said that for $29 we could have our first treatment then $40/m after that. He said weeds would curl within 8-10 days. Got our 1st treatment then 2 weeks later another and we got charged another $40. We have tons of weeds and when I called I was told (rudely) that there are no results for 2 seasons.     I've written this on another survey, but I'm going to say it again. The front lawn looks beautiful! but portions of the back and sides are only so-so while others are great. There are areas that look like they were very skimpily gone over in that they have weeds and/or are not nearly so green looking. I would think that the technician would put more material on the areas that look more poorly.

    Three days after my first treatment to my just over 1 year old lawn my house became infested with Clover Mites. My pest control company said they most likely came from whatever was sprayed on my lawn. TRUGREEN said it wasn't their problem, they didn't cause it and I needed to call my pest control company to deal with it. Issue resolved, canceled TRUGREEN Services after one treatment. Poor customer relations. Poor response to my call to the company. I will pay the additional $175.00 to my pest control company to spray for these bugs and be rid of TRUGREEN.

    I have had a horrible experience with TruGreen. Nothing has gone right from the first time they came out. I signed up with the the middle package. 1st treatment was supposed to be aeration and overseeding. It wasn't. Then they came back out to do it, didn't say what guidelines were for watering and I got charged the full price, which I should have been charged the per application fee because it was in my package. To top it off, I can't get a hold of them because they are closed and my account is overdrawn because of them taking it out.

    My neighbor has used TruGreen for some time, and seemed reasonably pleased with them. When I said that I have weeds in my lawn and wanted to get rid of them she told me how much she pays, and I thought I'd give it a shot. Coincidentally, within a couple of days I had a salesman hang an advert on my front door, and rather than ring the 1-800 number I rang the handwritten number on the card. I had to puzzle though, as the last number could have been anything from 0-9 or even anything else. I guessed at an 8, and it turned out correct. When the guy answered (let's call him J) I said that I was lucky to read the number, and had the attitude that I don't care, you rang me anyway. I should have stopped at that point. Anyway, I asked for a visit and a quote, and he said that he'd come the next day, which pleased me. However, I said I work from home, and have a series of WebEx/Conference calls all day until 3pm, so don't come until after that.

    He arrived at 10:30am. I went to the door, and said that I can't walk around the yard with him for the reasons that I'd stated. Similar attitude. "I'm here aren't I....? " So he told me that he would walk around, and leave me a quote. I found the quote, and it was $936, but if I paid that day $842. It was badly written on a photocopy of a contract, that refers to Terms & Conditions on the reverse side. There were none. During the day whilst I was on my various conference calls, I had someone try to ring me (at least a dozen times) as I could see the number displayed, and eventually we got to speak. He said that he was J's Manager, and asked me what he had quoted. I told him, and then said that he could do the job 50% lower if I signed up today, and that he could come around straight away. I asked him about the photocopy, and he fobbed me off with some excuse. I declined the offer.

    About 30 minutes later J rang, and asked if he could come around and collect the signed contract. I said that I had spoken to a different guy, and he said that it was his supervisor. I asked about the photocopy, and got a different excuse. Neither of them knew that I'd spoken with my neighbor, and how much they pay. My advice? Be very careful. I had NO idea that they were actually representing TruGreen, as I was never shown any authenticated credentials.

    I had a salesman come to my house and say they could treat all the weeds in my lawn including on my hill. When the technician arrived I wanted to make sure he was on the same page, when I told him the hill too he slumped his shoulders and complained. He didn't know what kind of weeds are in my lawn. He was just throwing stuff out there. I'm a farm boy, I know my weeds. Every time I caught him he threw out another name of a weed, then finally said it's grass!! Then just walked away from me! Needless to say he didn't treat my hill AND I was charged the full amount when I was told if I signed up for autopay I would be charged 29.95. I have put in multiple calls and still have not heard back from the manager that I was told would be contacting me. Their technicians come up, ring the bell and go right back to their truck. They don't give you time to even get to the door. I was told they would explain things to me, not the case, plus he didn't know what he was saying. Very upset with my whole experience, wish I had read reviews before hiring them. Now I got a big mess.

    We shopped around for service to enhance the appearance of our property and were able to secure services with Trugreen. We thoroughly explained what weeds we have, what our expectations were, and were assured there was a program specifically designed to accommodate. They came and did the first application and within 2 weeks time, the amount of of dandelions and violets had multiplied. We called customer service and were told this is normal, they use a chemical to enhance the problem areas so they know what do to for the next treatment. Honestly, sounded like a logical explanation so we agreed to allow them to come back and retreat the areas.

    A technician arrived on May 7 and only applied product to the front yard and drove away. We immediately called the office and they stated someone would be back on May 8 for correction to the mistake. At 2:00 pm, we called the office to check expected time tech would arrive and was told we were not on the schedule for 5/8 but 5/9. I told them that was nonsense and CSR offered to call a few techs that may have still been in the area and get back to me. No one ever called back. We will be cancelling our service and looking elsewhere.

    A salesman was in our neighborhood and came to our house. We were already a TruGreen customer so he said is there anything I can help you with. We showed him our front lawn where their guy has been spraying and killed all the dollar weeds. However, now it is all dead and grass missing in areas, etc. He said no problem, we can put sod down. I had just called TruGreen asking about sod because my friend had recently told me they we having TruGreen put down sod. TruGreen told me they do not do sod. This salesman at our house said they do.

    So, based on that I gave him a check for what he said would be $60 job and he need half. 15 minutes after he left he comes back and says he spoke with his Sales Manager and they do not do sod unless it is over 500 pieces; but, they could do some plugs but that would be more money. So I wrote him out a second check for the difference. He asked me when I wanted the job done and I said tomorrow, if possible. He said he would call me.

    Next day, no call - that was Wed. No call Thurs. No call Fri. So I called him and he said he was having a meeting with his Sales Manager that night and they would discuss how to do the job and he would let me know. I thought they had already discussed the job. Well, no phone call came. Long story short - this is how I was treated by everyone at TruGreen. One person says one thing and then the next person says that's not true?! Over and over I was told I would be called by a certain time on a certain day and no one called except the Sales Manager after I called and said I wanted to speak with someone with authority. He talked to me like I was some kind of a kid and he could just talk his way out of trouble by smooth talking me. I was so frustrated that I just told him to do the job and leave me the hell alone!

    Next day, I continued my efforts to reach a live person with authority. There is no one available or will call me back. I can't even get in touch with their corporate offices. I was told that this guy got my checks up front because he would get a bigger commission that way. Then I was told that was not true, that just how they operate. Nobody really knows - they just tell you what they think you need to hear or whatever? I can't figure it out.

    I've never been so frustrated trying to get a job done and find out what is going on. I still don't know why the first guy parked down the street and kept walking back and forth even after he had been in my house. He seemed like he was on something and I wondered if he had a heartbeat. He just kept saying 'we want you to be happy' and told me several things that were not true. Once our existing contract runs out, I'm quitting them and will tell anyone and everyone about their bad service.

    I signed up with TruGreen about 3 years ago and dropped them when they had a problem keeping to a schedule and generally was not impress with their product. After about 13 months TruGreen called again and said they have improved their product and also update all new scheduling software. So I gave them another chance. The schedule was for every 6 weeks. After the first application they called me and said they have scheduled me for a visit - just 3 weeks later (already starting an off cycle schedule not sure if it was to double their money or what?).

    When I called they said sorry, have corrected that and be out there at the scheduled 6 week time frame. Week 6, 7 and 8 went by without a call, so much for their improved scheduling software. Also as far as the improved product, sorry to say that I was still not impressed. My neighbor does the bare minimum to his yard and the both look the same. STAY AWAY from TRUGREEN, NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY! And please forget the apologies for the problems that you have experienced. I want NO follow up calls, emails or snail mail!! I am done with your company.

    I used TruGreen for several years. Each year, I had ordered and paid for the service at the beginning of the season. I was happy with the condition of my lawn in the first year, but in subsequent years and especially last year my lawn was increasingly being taken over by weeds and the service guy didn't seem especially interested in treating the weeds. So, I decided to use a different service this year. Imagine my surprise when I got a bill for $50 from TruGreen (no advance notice they were arriving - and I'm not even sure if/when they came). I called them about the bill and was told that they "automatically renew." They were unwilling to remove or reduce the charge because I hadn't called them to cancel. Of course, I did cancel on the spot and would never use them or recommend them. Hope they enjoy that $50.

    I began doing business with TruGreen in January. They have treated my yard several times all without calling ahead for me to unlock my gate so they could access the backyard.     Last year, our front and backyard were fine except for some brown patches in the backyard. My husband has always treated them before, but he had become disabled. So I called TruGreen. It took 3-4 treatments before it worked. So I decided to get them to start treating my yard. I was looking forward to a green and plush yard come Spring after all the different treatments they said my yard needed. Instead, half the front yard is dead, and the backyard looks depleted. They say they guarantee their work, but after a couple of times I could see that whatever they were putting on my yard did not improve things.     I have cancelled my service with Trugreen lawn care after receiving their services since the fall of last year. My lawn is horrid with weeds that I did not even have prior to Trugreen. Grass is all but dead. 700 dollars and my yard is officially the worst looking yard in my neighborhood. Tired of my neighbors asking me what I did to my yard. The weeds are unbelievable. Maybe others have had success but based on the reviews, there are not many. Customer service was polite and tried to talk me into staying with them. Said a manager would contact me. I told them not to bother because the manager has been out to my house and if he nor his staff cannot see that my yard is worse, engulfed in weeds and dirt and they did not make an effort to correct it on their own, then they clearly do not know what they are doing or simply do not care. Its obvious they have ruined my yard. If I and every other person in the neighborhood can see it, then they did as well. I Should have done some research. Trugreen has over a 90% dissatisfied rating. My yard is embarrassing. To future clients please do some research first, learn from my mistake.

Wednesday arrived and when no one showed up, I called in. They said the tech completed the work; however, I was home all day, our dogs were out, and no work order was left. When I called to cancel, I spoke with Monica who cheerfully cancelled my account, but indicated she would "put in a request" for my refund. When I asked her to clarify if I would receive a credit or not, she hung up on me.

    I pre-paid for an entire year. I just hoped that by purchasing this service, I would have luscious green grass. Quite the opposite - my lawn is ruined. After the 1st treatment, the weeds grew taller, after the 2nd treatment all my grass died. The height of disappointment came when I received a ticket from my HOA for unkept lawn.     I became a TruGreen customer several years ago after they purchase Happy Lawns who was servicing my lawn at the time. Since TruGreen has taken over the lawn has gotten worse every year. I was a prepaid customer for lawn and tree and shrub but cancelled the tree and shrub 2 years ago after repeated attempts to contact a manager with no return calls.

    I am on my 3rd year of trying to get a manager to return my calls. I've been hoping that getting someone out to look at the issues would help to solve the problem but they will not call back. I finally received a call from the "service manager" 4/24/14 after several calls to corporate. He told me how busy he was and that he had been there for 2 years which means he's the guy that hasn't been returning my calls for 2 years. He said that "he had inherited the tarnished penny and would polish it up until I was happy." He said he would be out and would call me from the lawn on 4/28 or 29. After not hearing from him I called the corporate number again on 5/3 and they assured me I would get a call from the general manager on 5/5. I've not heard from anyone.

    The issues I'm experiencing are heavy weeds spring and fall. They don't treat in August when I request it so when they overseed in September they think weeds keep the seed from germinating. I get another health crop of weeds in the Spring which compounds the situation. By the time they treat for weeds in late spring I have bare spots everywhere. I have also had more and more moss every year which is a result of acidic soil (not enough lime) which also contributes to weeds. Finally, the lawn has been taken over by annual blue grass and annual rye. They die out when the temps rise and leave even more bare spots. These issues would be easy to control with proper lime application and pre-emergent control but it seems like they just want to fertilize and cash checks. They want to keep what's there green and buy up their competition. DO NOT use this company!

    We live in a home that is less than 2 years old and one of the best lawns on the block (judged by our neighbors.) We signed up with TruGreen because we intended to do a lot of traveling this summer. We got sucked in by the pitch of them doing a Lawn Analysis. We told the salesperson that we had Applied Scotts Weed and Feed the previous week and were concerned about two weeds in our yard; Dollar weed and crabgrass. The application of weed and feed and the two weeds were both on the contract. The day after the contract was signed, they showed up to spray the yard for weeds. Two days later, grass started turning brown. Called the office on Monday to ask about the program and how it would be administered and asked about the brown spots.

    The receptionist was very nice and said a manager would call me. At the end of the week, I got a call and talked with a manager about the program. He had to the the most arrogant person I have ever spoken to told me an analysis was required because he had been doing this for 10 years and all lawns needed the same thing. Also told me that centipede grass always died out and need to be replaced with other grasses. I could not believe the conversation. Call the salesman and told him I wanted out of the program. He told me he would come out to check on the lawn, never came. Call back and he said his manager was working it and someone be out a week later. Now 20 days later, two managers show up.

    One begins to tell me that the lawn is burned because its my fault for two reasons, too much thatch and what the applied was not compatible with Scott's and they should probably just drop me because my lawn would be dead next year and they would be blamed. I could not believe this conversation. I asked why the analysis wasn't done before any applications and once again I was told they did not do them because they knew the lawns and the salesman should have done it. I wanted out of the program and they are going to refund a partial payment (I paid a year in advance.) I wish I should have the reviews first. I left their sign on the lawn so people we know who did it. Hope this helps someone in the Myrtle beach area.     I set up an account with Tru-Green several weeks ago while the weather was still cold. Shortly after a man came and sprayed my front yard for weeds. Days later I noticed my grass dying. I called the local manager and his decision is that I have a different type grass from any of my neighbors and the type I have just didn't make it through this cold winter. Never mind that my backyard looks good because they only sprayed the front. Any of my neighbors will tell you that our front lawn always looked as good as theirs. I was charged almost 30 dollars for that visit. I then called the local office to cancel my contract and was told that it was cancelled.

    A few days later my wife called me at work and said the Tru-Green guy come and was sprinkling something on our shrubs. I tried to call local office but I guess they had just closed so I called the 800 number and was informed that my account was still active. I ask him to cancel. He did and gave me a confirmation number. I then got a bill for 50 dollars. I called and told them I had cancelled my contract and they informed me that I canceled after the visit so I had to pay to keep my good credit. It is costing me over 4 thousand dollars to get my front yard back. Needless to say I am sick about it.

    We started 4 years ago with this company. The first year was fine. The second season, they sent a new guy who sprayed the lawn with undiluted compound and burned it to hell. The last 2 seasons they have talked a good game and even sent someone to aerate. No help. This year my entire lawn is hopeless. I am going to ask them to pay for a new lawn. Not that I expect they will, but maybe a lawsuit would help. Anyone out there get satisfaction from this company?

    I called TruGreen about a month ago to get an estimate on having a weed sterilant sprayed over a gravel driveway and parking area. The representative came out and walked the area with me. He discussed where he could and could not spray, the conditions necessary, etc. All in all, we spent a good twenty minutes going over the specifics. He even stated he would come out and supervise the job to make sure all areas were treated as I requested. I agreed I wanted the service completed and asked for the estimate. The representative then explained he could give me a really good deal on additional services, which for the price seemed fair. I ended up buying an "all-inclusive" package - at least that was how it was worded to me.

    When no one came to spray the gravel area, I finally called to schedule an appointment for the treatment. The phone representative informed me I had not purchased that service, but he could arrange it for an additional fee! I'd like to give the salesman the benefit of the doubt, but I think he was dishonest in selling me services he knew did not include the specific work I was contracting TruGreen to do. I'll gladly pay for the two treatments they've done on the yard, but I'd like to get my $800 plus back and not have to deal with them again.

    I recently moved into a new house and wanted to get rid of the existing weeds and have a healthy green lawn, so I contacted TruGreen. I have been contacted by an automated message 3 times saying they would be here, and they have yet to show. I called them each time and nothing has been done. So I contacted them yesterday and I was told that I was still on the schedule and that they would contact the service guy to see when he would arrive. The person on the phone told me she would call me right back to let me know what time he would be here. It is now the next day and I am still waiting on a phone call or the service guy to treat my lawn.

    The frustrating part to this is I have a dog. So each time, I have had to leave him in his cage in the house so that they could treat the yard. Unfortunately I have a job so I have had to drive back home to let the dog out and put him back in before I left. Like others that have posted, they have my card on file so that they can automatically withdraw after each service.

    I was an employee from 1/6/2014 until my resignation 5/1/2014. I started out with a training class of 14 people. I was the final one to leave. Our training consisted of us watching videos while our sales manager played video games on his laptop. We were then turned loose to start knocking on doors and selling their services. We were told that our insect control killed mole crickets - it doesn't. That we will call customers before each service - we didn't. That our services are guaranteed - they aren't. I was complain about the Poa Annua and my new sales manger told me that our product wouldn't kill it. That just wait until it warms up, it will die. I was like, are you kidding me????

    All of the salesmen are new each year. They work you to the bone then lay you off if you make it through the season. No one ever returns the following season. The service techs are just as green as the salesmen. So what you have are salesman selling you services they know nothing about and service techs spraying chemicals on your lawn that are inexperienced in most cases. I have personally watched them spray yards only in sections and not do customer's backyards. Management is only concerned about $$$$$. The company standard for retaining customers is 70%. What does that tell you???

    I apologize to everyone in the Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties in South Carolina that I sold lawn care to. I again was inadequately trained and was given wrong information from management to go sell you their shoddy services. My yard is green and beautiful (I don't use TruGreen). Both my neighbors use TruGreen and they are full of weeds. TAKE MY ADVICE AND CANCEL ASAP BEFORE YOUR LAWN SUFFERS ANY MORE.

    I contacted TruGreen to treat trees on my property that were in distress. They were quick to get my credit card information. A day later they called to make an appointment to treat my trees---Thursday May 1, "first call". I was told they would arrive at approx 7:30. I foolishly assumed that I would be able to leave for work on time and made no other arrangements. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! I started calling them at 8:00 a.m. to find out what was going on. Amazingly, their computers were down and they could not help me. I called several times and asked to speak to a manager. The computers were still down. They could not confirm I even had an appointment, much less tell me where the driver was.

    At 9:00 a.m. a manager called me, but of course could not help me---she had no idea where the driver was. I am now late for work where I had important projects to complete. Now it’s 9:30, still no driver, but "**" called me to me she reached a lawn care driver. I don't have a lawn. I have trees. Wrong truck! I wasted an entire morning, was very late to work and all for nothing. This company is so large they are actually not capable of being organized and provide horrible customer service.

    We still have not had our service done for this year. For three times this year, they don't come when they said they would. We have it on our account to come before a certain time in the morning or after a certain time in the afternoon. We don't want to leave the gate open due to having a pool. The first time they called me at 5:30 p.m. and said they could not get in the back. Duh (the day before we called to tell them to come in the early morning time frame). So then the guy told me he can reschedule it. Never heard back from him. The second and third time (being the third time today) no show. We were at home during both time frames. I even called at three o'clock today and they said we were still scheduled. Last year was fun too. They said they had a new computer system and that is why we didn't get our first application until June. I have a call in to a competitor to get price quotes. Our yard looks awful.

    My lawn was not looking good, so I started using Trugreen July 2012 and then all of 2013. Their service was ok though sometimes they would miss an appointment but usually rescheduled quickly. This year they have miss and rescheduled my 1st appointment 3 times and still have not done it. I got one call regarding the 1st cancellation which was the service guy leaving an strange message saying "he had to cancel and wasn't sure when it could be rescheduled". I eventually call them and was told the apt was rescheduled but they did not come and never called. I called again and the apt was again reschedule, and now I am now waiting from a callback from a manager to tell me why they cancelled so many times. I have threatened to cancel my contract based on their lack of service.

    In the meantime, I am looking at my lawn and seeing lots of bare spots and it does not look healthy. I am getting concerned about the lawn dying, and am considering switching to a local service company. I paid for a full year of service to get a 10% discount, but now am sorry I did so. I feel I have little bargaining power, though I could cancel and try to get my money back. I will see how what the manager says if and when he calls me back. I would suggest if you engage them to not pay in full, in case you are not happy with them you can cut your losses easily and move on.

    For a second year in a row I am off to a less than stellar start with Tru Green. A little over two weeks ago they were to start my 3rd season of lawn care. No one showed up or was I given a call of explanation or reschedule. I called them last week and and was rescheduled for today. Once again, no one showed or called. I called the corporate number and she tried to call the local manager, but no one answered and there was no way to leave a message. The only resolution I got was an order sent to reschedule. I think I would rather discontinue service and hire a new service.

    I wish I had read the reviews about TruGreen before I hired them to service my lawn. Just after their very first service on 4/25, within 3 days my green lawn has now turned yellow... the grass has been burned and my yards look horrible in this spring season. I had some problems in my backyard with some patches probably due to fungus (I guess) that I wanted to get fixed. My front lawn was all fine and green (except some weeds) and now here I am completely screwed by this company.

    I was already kind of doubtful when I asked my wife about the tech who came to service our lawn as he did not say or tell anything except that we need to water up to 1.5 inch our lawns twice a week, no word on when we will see the difference or how our lawn is gonna behave. I have already registered a complaint and SOMEONE from TruGreen is gonna show up. I will definitely question the credibility and skills of their servicemen. Not sure with all these complaints and low ratings how this company is still in the market selling their products?

Now my lawn is the best lawn on the block and my neighbors always compliment me on my lawn. They are very affordable and I don't think I could do it with the supplies from the store.     I have made several request by phone and even sent an email requesting a refund for poor service. I had my yard "Plugged and seeded and supposed to be spliced". My yard was plugged and seeded with no resulted and treated throughout the year for no reason. I have clay soil and instead of them conditioning and treating the soil so that I can have real grass, I was having treatments done for reasons that made no sense. I spent over $700 in 1 year and have requested a refund because they did NOT give me what I asked for when I first called them and that was a healthy green lawn the following year.

    Instead what I got was a patchy weed, grub, infested yard, that hurt my children's feet because the "grass" if you want to call it that went right through their shoes and punctured holes in their slip and slides. I want my refund. I trusted you with my grass and now the office manager is telling me that he sent an email to accounting for the refund, so he can't do anymore....... A company guarantees they can make your yard look better but when they fail they can't do they right thing and return your hard earned money.

    I've only been a TruGreen customer since March 2014. It is now April 2014. In that time there have been 4 no shows. I get the automated call but no one ever shows up. Each time I call and speak to a representative and get the same apology and run around. I asked to speak to a manager. None available. Left phone number. Manager did call back and was very apologetic and promised to have someone out to my property within the hour. That did happen; however, the very next scheduled treatment was a no show again. I finally cancelled my contract. In this day and age not sure how a company can remain in business provide such poor customer service. Unbelievable! There are 857 negative reviews yet nothing improves. Oh yeah, I have some great dandelions growing on my lawn. To be expected I guess.

    After three years and $790, this is what my TruGreen lawn looks like. After asking and asking for a refund, they haven't refunded any monies. This is what the 'manager' told me after reviewing the pictures: Based on what I saw of your lawn pictures and the condition the lawn was in I do not think that looking bad at one point during the summer warrants a refund of the entire service. That would typically only happen if we had killed your lawn, or if we had blatant negligence.

    This is the most incompetent lawn service I have ever used. I have been using their service for many years. Before I contacted them I mentioned to a close relative that I was going to try TruGreen. I was informed by them that they too had used TruGreen in the past and was very disappointed with them and fired them. I decided to try TruGreen myself hoping that my relative's experience was an isolated experience.

    When I first contacted them they pushed for a yearly service contract, which I accepted. Each year since, I have canceled a particular service that they had proven to me on at least two occasions that they were inept at performing. As each year passed, I found that I was using less of the services they offered and was either maintaining my landscape myself or paying a local Las Vegas company to perform.

    This month, after many years of dealing with TruGreen's incompetence and my yearly canceling of a service they offered, I, with great pleasure, completely canceled the few remaining services I still had on contract with TruGreen. I have found that I get much better results by visiting my local nursery (Star Nursery). By asking a few questions from one of their many landscape professionals, I get much better results, in a more timely manner, at a tenth of the cost than TruGreen was capable of. Please note, I said at one tenth the cost of what TruGreen charged me, not 10% less. I would not recommend TruGreen, Las Vegas to anyone!

    I received a flyer on a Friday and called the following day, Saturday, to contract TruGreen to work on my lawn. When I spoke to the gentleman he pressured me to commit that same day because a lawn specialist was in my area that day and would be able to service my house the same day. I agreed to give him my credit card info and all other necessary things, with the agreement that the lawn would be serviced the same day. After a no call no show and several days of no contact I called the company to cancel service. The first time I left a voice-mail explaining my issue and making it very clear I did not want service with a company that couldn't pay the courtesy of calling me to cancel an appointment. I then received a call from another employee who rudely told me the appointment would be ran regardless.

    I rudely responded that it would not be ran and made it clear that I was under no obligation to let them service my lawn. The representative agreed but then tried to argue with me. I hung up on him. 2 days later I receive an automated call telling me the appt. would be ran. Naturally I call the number given and angrily explain my situation and that this is my third attempt to cancel service. The representative, from some unknown country with horrible English, persist to try to confirm the appointment 3 different times then argues with me for another 5 minutes about how my account was never serviced, as if that will change my mind. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company before in any industry. I would highly recommend staying as far away from them as possible, as they have no customer service skills whatsoever.

I called to schedule an appointment for someone to come inspect my yard so we could develop a plan to get them under control. They didn't show up for that appointment and they often miss their regularly scheduled treatments. When I called to cancel my service, they commented, "Everybody has healthy and robust weeds right now." They are still charging me for my last service even though I was clear their product is ineffective. To recap: healthy weeds after 3+ years of service, no-show appointments, missed treatments, still invoicing even though the product is ineffective. You be the judge.

    Pathetic service from the start!!! I had the Buford Georgia Branch as my provider. Run! Run! Run! After every application, I called numerous times requesting retreatments as the weeds never died. Honestly, a treatment would be applied, I would see the sign stating they were there, yet all the weeds continued to grow!! Not a single one was dead 2 weeks later. Weeds never died and got worse. Every attempt to get a manager to respond was ignored. Finally after threats and requests to call national number a manager visited my home after almost a year's treatments and stated, "This yard is a failure of epic proportions". He promised to refund my money and get a free final treatment that would be weed killer and not colored water. 2 weeks later, no treatment and a $35 check. I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF MY YARD'S APPEARANCE AFTER 1 YEAR OF TREATMENT...

    When I hired this company to take care of my lawn, it was very green and probably the prettiest lawn (or at least one of the prettiest lawns) on my street. I have St. Augustine grass and the only reason I hired them was hoping they could thicken a few thinning areas. The only conclusion I can come to after, I now see a "DEAD" yard (front and back) is that they put too many chemicals on my lawn. When I called them, they said I would receive a call back within 24-48 hours. A week later, I had made another call...no call back.

    Finally, I made a third call and someone finally called back. I was not able to take the call, but a message was left telling me it was due to the cold winter and drought and they would come and look at the yard. Now we've gone through this drought and cold the last couple of years....that is not the reason. My yard was green this time last year before hiring them. When the rep came out, he basically left a note saying the same thing and where I now have dead/totally dirt now.... He said it was due to high traffic areas and that I should rake the dead grass and water twice a week.

    Sorry - I don't walk the areas they are stating over and over, nor do I have children or a big dog that does... nor can I water twice a week due to water restrictions! I watched areas die little by little....turning into dirt. I had left a message stating that I do not want any further treatments done until I speak with someone, yet then I get an email and phone call from Trudy stating a treatment is scheduled and/or was done. I am looking for others to go in with me to sue them. I believe they owe me my yard back - grass, sod as well as the money I paid them in which they destroyed my yard!! Anybody interested?

    After one month, the application appears to have been hit and miss. From our front sidewalk to the curb looks like has only half coverage. There are spots on the front lawn that were missed. Most of our back lawn and along the side of our house, what's coming up is green, but growth is as if it hadn't been fertilized. On a rating of 1 to 10, Trugreen gets 1-1/2. Scotts (which we had previously) was always a 7 or so for the initial application.

    We have had an ideal cool growing season with plentiful rain. I am very disappointed with Trugreen results so far. Grass is so sparse that I get mud on my shoes when I walk across it. This has never been the case before this late in the season. Did Trugreen not know what they were doing or did they just fail to put down enough product? I'll let you know in July if your crabgrass preventer was any fool out long the sidewalk and curb. Since it looks like there wasn't much fertilizer applied, I doubt that crabgrass prevention will be much better.

After numerous Scotts Lawn Care Programs, the "Garden Guy" programs, etc. I finally gave in to the fact that I am not a turf grass specialist nor do I have the time to devote to becoming one. I finally gave into the above and contacted TruGreen and the telephone rep quickly gave me a quote based upon a Google Earth view. I reiterated to them that they could not see the complete back and side yard due to the trees but she was confident and stood by the quote even though I repeatedly questioned it. Let the fun and games begin. I am going to have a lot of free time not having to disperse lawn care products... or so I thought.

    My main issues which were clearly identified to the agent were weeds (more specifically crab grass which I understand is almost impossible to eradicate due to its similarities to St. Augustine), and thin areas. I was told "NO PROBLEM. We have a specific treatment for both of your concerns". Well after numerous missed visits, re-treatments, missed re-treatments, unauthorized additional services and my problem was as bad if not worse. Now the turf did look nice and green but within two days of cutting the lawn the crabgrass was significantly higher and even Stevie Wonder could see that the battle was being lost. I talked to a supposed manager, the technician himself and was told that there was a "NEW" super cure-all for my problems but it could only be applied in small amounts twice per year but it would certainly fix my problem. OK let's do it. Why did it take my complaining and threatening to leave?

    Fast forward another year after the "Super Cure-All" applications, aerations, etc. and I still had not gained in my battle against my initial problem. I finally told them that was it. After begging and begging I succumbed to allowing a meeting with a supposed "Regional" manager at my home to discuss my problems. His position was that all the techs, and previous people I spoke to were idiots and he would take care of my issues. I severed our relationship but kept this "Regional" persons contact info JUST IN CASE.

    Well after realizing the pain in the a$$ that it is to procure, place and maintain a chemical warfare stockpile to maintain my turf grass I thought "Maybe I will call "**" and see what he can offer". I did just that and after two attempts and a voicemail I got a call back from "**" who remembered me but unfortunately he was relocated to a different location. ** was courteous and said "I know the new manager personally. I will call him and get back to you in a day or two".

    Fast forward 8 days and still no call back from **. I have left several voicemails to good ole' ** and no return phone call from either him or the "new" manager. In the end TruGreen is worthless as they will be there to automatically take your money but they will lie, cheat and steal to keep from providing you with the service that you signed up for. RUN AND RUN FAST from TruGreen or ChemLawn or whatever they call themselves this month.

    After a year of treatments and up treatments my yard looked even worse. I called to cancel the service and was told it would be cancelled immediately and I had a credit on my account that would be refunded to my credit card. The next week, while I was out of town, they came out and sprayed the yard and charged me. I called to inquire why, the girl says no notes to cancel on my account. Obviously, the customer service is as lacking as the yard service is. Buyer Beware!

    Used TruGreen for over one year and now half of my lawn is completely dead. No response to my calls or emails except one phone call from a manager promising to resolve the problem. Never heard from him again nor was there an attempt to restore the lawn to its original condition. Apparently TruGreen hires individuals that have no knowledge of turf maintenance or the skills required to treat a lawn properly. Do not use this company if you value your property. My lawn was beautiful and now looks like a brown field. I'm worried it may be toxic!

    3 years of service....... 3 years of problems. I believe in giving second chances... but three strikes you're out. After reading reviews online, I see a common thread. This company is terrible... hands down. This company fails in every imaginable customer service category: billing for unauthorized services, billing for services not performed, harassing phone calls... you name it. Hope this helps to keep someone else from making the same mistakes others and myself have made hiring. Tru-sham!

    I called TruGreen to set up an account. They took my information and promised to come out to treat my lawn. I waited five days, received a call from their automated caller. They said they was coming out the following day. They never showed up. I call, talk with one of their service tech. He said he would try to get someone out the following day, no one showed up. I called again, spoke to a person who said she was conversing with her supervisor. I was told I would received a call from the supervisor. Never did. I called and cancelled the service.

    I signed the Agreement for 8 visits for $60 each with FREE visits in between as needed. I get a call from their office saying, "no", I'm NOT getting the $60 a treatment and free in between visits unless I put a credit card or my debit card on their auto pay. I told her "HELL NO!" You've got a salesman driving his old chevy pick up around trying to make sales to pay his bills. I watched that guy go from house to house with no luck before stopping here. I'm not an easy sale but he sold me, he's a good salesman. One hateful ** sitting on her fat ass ruined it.

    After using TruGreen for a year, we were fairly satisfied with the results and even got our neighbors to change to TruGreen! However, last year 2013 my husband didn't seem as satisfied with the lawn and once he had to call them to come reapply. The last couple appointments were disastrous. They missed an appointment and called to reschedule. No biggie, the next appointment that THEY made they missed without even a phone call to reschedule. So we contacted them to schedule something. Nobody ever came, my husband was stressing about the lawn and called them again to reschedule. Again, no biggie-to me at least, LOL! What is it about men and their lawns? And my husband is pretty easy going, so although annoyed, we weren't worried.

    Then, the day the guy gets here, I was didn't answer the door, but looked out the window to see him with a 5 gallon sprayer that was 1/2 full. After walking around the yard for 5 minutes, he left. I thought "Wow that was quick!" Well, after telling my husband that TruGreen finally showed up with their 5 gallon sprayer, it made us wonder what was on the bill, so we checked. OMG **, 13 gallons of what? There is no freaking way on God's TruGreen earth that he sprayed 13 gallons of anything on my lawn. And he was here for 13 minutes? Really? NO. I was mad, my husband was mad and neither of us knew if any treatments had ever been done.

    It took us about 2-3 weeks to cancel and get our money back and we spoke to about 5 different people. Understandably they don't want to lose a customer, so they didn't make it easy, but I thought that was the end of this story... We've received about 3 calls from them asking us to come back. Today I received the fourth. It seems all was made clear with this conversation: After explaining to this "area supervisor" what happened and how I will never use them again, he did apologize but then said "Don't we all cut corners at work? I know I have. "And I ended the convo with "When I pay you for a service, I don't expect to have to monitor that it's being done." Oh, and for him to not call me anymore because it's not happening-NOT COMING BACK. I'LL SET MY LAWN ON FIRE BEFORE USING TRUGREEN!

    And one last thing... I totally agree with Mary of Brighton, MO who posted: "Doesn't anyone take pride in their work anymore? Or is it simple the mentality, "it's not my house so why should I care?" Whatever the reason, it's a shame and a blight on America. "I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing this trend." Anybody else? It seems like either everyone wants it easy, nobody cares or God forbid we're getting dumber in America...either way WTH people? Do it right or don't bother doing it!

    I complained to the gentleman who came to apply the product and he had his manager come out who gave us a few more applications for free, and still no better results. At the end of the season, our lawn looked a little worse and not one of our concerns were improved. Also the company calls so often to get you to buy additional purchases it is close to harassment. We cancelled their services 2 years ago and they are still calling me. I have asked them not to call over and over without results. Today I just received another call...

    Let's just say many of you are correct in what you are saying. I had a friend work there for many years and had to finally quit, their program keeps changing in price, each of the last 4 years. One year I get 5 treatments, then they tell me 7, then 6. I heard they were removed from the ServiceMaster family and on their own, they changed their customer service to global and you can't talk to the local branch which services you, and oh yes they call you for everything. They are scrambling for money and I was also told they had a very bad financial year, so expect a price increase again. I'm not using them again, ever...

    The salesperson sold to me a 1-year package and assured me my lawn would be thick/lush and bare spots would be covered by a health lawn. The results were a lawn that still had the same sized bare spots and a brown lawn with green weeds. When I complained of not seeing any improvement throughout the year, I was told due to the location of my property, it would be difficult to control weeds and was asked to be patient that it would take time to see results. I talked to the manager who said he would stop out to see for himself what the yard looked like and he was a 'no show'. I requested a refund or continued service at no additional charge but neither were acknowledged. Please do not waste your money on this service.

    To be fair the lawn care they provided was VERY good and our yard looked amazing. If I was only dealing with the people in our local market, they would have my business hands down! Unfortunately, they were using the corporate office for billing and I had given the sales guy my cell number with the caveat that they should NEVER call me between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 CST. While presenting to our Sr. VP I got a cell call from TruGreen - asking if I'd like to have my lawn aerated. You may say ... well ... don't answer when you are meeting with the Sr. VP. IMHO - it is my cell phone and the rest of the world can follow that simple instruction. I have children and if they call and it is an emergency, I'll walk out of a meeting with anyone. THAT is the ONLY acceptable exception.

    That would seem like a minor infraction but the next one was the deal breaker. They had done such nice work on our home lawn that we decided to have them also treat one of our rental properties. Our lawn is 3/4 acre. The rental is 1/4 acre. We were paying $70/treatment. They quoted $90/treatment for the rental. When I told them that was ridiculous, they asked what I thought was reasonable. I told them $35. They agreed to that rate. When I got the first bill for the rental, it was for $90. It went downhill from there. After about 12 hours on the phone with their office over multiple weeks - I gave up. I canceled the service and asked them to refund my money. I had prepaid for a year of service for our home account. I never got my refund. I honestly believe their corporate office is completely incompetent and I would rather have weeds in my yard than to EVER have to deal with them again.

    April 2013, I signed a contract with TruGreen Chemlawn when they promised me to make my lawn greener and lawn healthier. After several treatments, my lawn started turning brown. So Aug 2013 I called TruGreen Chemlawn and so told them to stop the treatments. Someone showed up and applied another treatment, resulting in browner lawn. Called them a second time in Sept 2013 and told them to cancel my contract.

    Nov 2013 someone came to my property and aerated my backyard (not the front, I hope they did not destroy my sprinklers) so I called them again to cancel my contract. This time they provided me a confirmation number and also a bill for $226.21 for the services I requested to be cancelled. Called TruGreen to speak to a supervisor with no joy. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR LAWN CARE. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF INCOMPETENT LAWN CARE SUPPOSEDLY PROFESSIONALS WHO WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF!!!

    Contracted with TruGreen to treat our yard for grub worms, to decrease or remove the problem we had with moles. TruGreen representative PROMISED treatment under contract would begin and continue from June 2013 thru June 2014. They vowed to treat property until the problem was alleviated or diminished, or the moles "moved" from the property to the outside perimeter or to "a neighbor's" (said jokingly). Long and short is, now TruGreen states they NEVER would have promised to get rid of the grubs or insects because that is impossible. I wrote the Attorney General Office in our state and they responded to me stating there had not been "enough" complaints regarding TruGreen to warrant fraud. (Obviously, they should have researched it and maybe checked online.)

    At any rate, they refused more than one treatment, even though three more were scheduled, but the technician never showed up and never called. The last scheduled appointment the tech named Lucas called and told us we'd be better off going to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy the "sonic vibrating sticks" that scare the moles away, and that it would probably work better than any of TruGreen's products or techniques would. That from their own technician. Shameful. I've made several complaints and received a copy of the letter from the Vice President and Division General Counsel Carol ** in Memphis, TN stating she believes my husband and I are attempting fraud against TruGreen. How does my complaint and their lack of integrity to do as they stated and contracted with us to do, morph into my husband and I committing fraud against them?

    I would NEVER recommend them EVER. My complaint is totally the fact, they promised follow-up treatments for the year from June until June and refused more than one treatment after they sprayed only once. The company is a farce. I would and we will from now on research thoroughly a company and any complaints filed against them BEFORE we contract or pay them one small dime. We have had a new roof installed this year, TWICE, because the first one was different in color due to a quality control problem at the manufacturer. No money out of our pocket, but anyone who has had a roof installed knows it is very inconvenient, and noisy and disruptive for not only the owners, but for neighbors, and pets.

    Also, we had new carpet installed by an installer that DID NOT know how to do seams and the carpet had to be replaced. Initially carpet installed in June and RE-DONE in AUGUST. Another aggravation and if it had been done by a professional (hired by the company we purchased the carpet from locally) it would NOT have had to been done twice. Thirdly, we had our septic system worked on twice. They failed to move the pump up on block and had to be redone, and the pump truck operator pumped the wrong tank, and we ALMOST had a sewer back up. $1000.00 that we paid. Had it been done right the first time, the cost would have been $600.00 maximum. Pathetic quality control and lack of job performance. Doesn't anyone take pride in their work anymore? Or is it simple the mentality, "it's not my house so why should I care?" Whatever the reason, it's a shame and a blight on America.

    I would never even remotely consider purchasing TruGreen Chemlawn for myself but my neighbors decided to. The technician thought it was funny to spray the chemicals directly on my dog. While I was only home once when he did this, it was probably multiple times. My middle aged dog ended up developing cancer about a year or 2 later. Also our grass looks way better than theirs and TruGreen rips off old people :/

    I called TruGreen to cancel service at my parents house in July 2013 since my mother has Alzheimer's and was put in a home and shortly after that, my father had a major stroke. Of course, they did not cancel like instructed and noted in the files that I approved them to do a fall chemical application. I have talked to them several times regarding cancelling service and no ONE can seem to get it done. Now it is December and they call me to let me know that my parent's credit card is about to expire that they need a current card to be able to continue service. HELLO, people, how many times do I have to tell you I do not want the service anymore? I am so irritated with this company especially when I have sick parents to deal with.

    After a season of calls, applications, weeds, and bills, my lawn looked terrible. They did nothing except give me the "verbal" runaround. I have cancelled the service and they still show up and try to apply more crap to my lawn (I talk with a lot of people work for this company nobody wants to take take care of their customers). My suggestion is, do not deal with these people! They have tarnished a well-respected name in the lawn care industry.

    I've been a TruGreen customer for many years and have always had good results with the lawn care. Last year, I started receiving solicitation phone calls for aeration and lime (which I always decline). This year, they started calling me Once a month, then once every 2 weeks and finally THREE times in one week. I asked each employee who called to flag my account that I do not want these types of calls. After the week that I had 3 calls, I wrote to TruGreen and requested this to stop. It did for about a month (give or take). Then I get another call. I asked the guy if my account was flagged and he said, "Yes. It says do not call." Yet, he had called me. I find it irresponsible that a company would completely ignore a customer's request to be left alone! If you don't mind tons of phone calls, go ahead and use the service. If you want to be left in peace, stay away from TruGreen!

    Several months ago, I thought it would be nice to reward myself with lawn service. My wife thought the same since I was frequently applying bonus and other products to keep my lawn lovely and green. I came across a special offer on the internet for TruGreen service. I signed up and it took my local office in Vero Beach about 2 weeks to come out and make the application. Two days after, they left the sign in the front yard. My lawn was killed, all brown and dead. I called the office and they said they would send a technician back out. Another approx. ten days go by and no evidence that a return visit had occurred.

    Several days later, I had to go to a funeral and was able to stop by the Vero Beach office before they closed. I met with the manager after waiting for 15 minutes or more. He advised me that I was watering my lawn too much 2x a week. All of my neighbors and myself water the same. My lawn was perfect before they sprayed. The manager came out, looked at my lawn and said I had some kind of fungus and I would have to live with it. My neighbors can't believe what my lawn looks like. I truly believe they sprayed some herbicide by accident and won't admit it. All I want is my lawn back even if they have to lay new sod.

    We have called three times to cancel service. We are past contracted period and they tell us each time that the account has been cancelled, yet they continue to come spray and send bills. The yard has never looked good, and their service did nothing to change that. Each time we call, they are friendly and helpful but the account never seems to get cancelled.

    WE cancelled in July after repeated promises that they would get my lawn into the shape I wanted (what the heck had I been paying for the last several years????) at no cost to me AND when they did the fall application in September, it would be half price and winterizing would be half price. After the dismal results from the April and May applications and DAILY phone calls to TruGreen that went unanswered - they promised they would take care of it, came in late June and July to apply something. Imagine our surprise when we found out we had been billed for these applications. Called Chase and disputed the charges. They investigated and send since it had been over 90 days, they could only credit us the last two bills - which was about $190- which they credited us in September.

    TruGreen calls us in September and wanted us back. We told them basically hell would be freezing over before we had them back. TODAY we get a letter from a collection agency. TRUGREEN is hounding us for the $190 that Chase said we were legally entitled to a refund for. Hubby called collection agency and then TruGreen. AGAIN, told someone will call us, but we are not holding our breath. I guess I will be filing suit against them and taking them to task with the newspapers. SHAME ON TRUGREEN! IF you have an account with them - get out NOW - THIS COMPANY IS TROUBLE!!!!!!

    Our chief complaint is that when we initiated TruGreen Lawn Service in April of 2013, we were told our payment amount would be due every other month; we could split that amount in half and make a monthly payment - but that option wasn't available online so we paid our amount every other month. When we cancelled service in July of 2013 (3 months later) we were given a cancellation number and told that the overage we paid would be refunded to our account within ten business days. 10 business days came and went with no refund to our account. We did get a statement for September saying we owed our regular payment amount. We dismissed the statement because we thought information was being crossed (someone didn't get the memo that we cancelled). We tried calling the local company and got an answering service taking messages and we were told someone would call us back. We never got a call back.

    Mid-September, we received a Past Due Reminder. (Keep in mind we were under the impression that we overpaid and were expecting a refund). Two days later, I tried sending a message through the contact us on the website. No response. Four days after that I called what I thought was the local number and spoke with someone named Terry. She told me that the payment amount that we paid every other month was actually the amount we were to pay per application and that we still owed as we had paid two times and had three applications. This upset me but I calmly explained that we were told differently when we first set up the account and that when we canceled services in July, we were also told that we had a refund coming. She was taking notes and flagging the local office (supposedly I did not get the local office when I called their number).

    She told me that normally we could expect a call back from someone within 7 to 10 business days, but she flagged it so we could get a call back sooner. I gave her my husband's number to call as he was the one to set up the account. Five business days later, on a Monday, my husband gets a call from them while he is at work. Worst timing ever! He was on the clock and was not in a position to go into all the details with this woman. By the way, in that brief conversation with her, he felt that she wasn't listening to what he was saying and that she was adamant that we were wrong and she was right. He couldn't get into a shouting match with her while he was at work. When he came home that evening he told me to just pay them. Screw it. He didn't want to deal with this aggravation.

    In the meantime we get another Past Due Reminder. In honoring my husband' request to pay them, I did so on October 14th, 2013 AFTER I filled out a customer survey indicating that our satisfaction with this company was very dissatisfied. At the end of the survey was this comment: Your scores indicate that we are not meeting your expectations. A representative from your local branch will contact you at the phone number listed on your account to address your concern. We are now five days past and no contact has been made. In the comment within the survey, I told them the reason we made the last payment was 1) We didn't want our credit to be marred, and 2) to just be done with them and their bad business service. If they wanted to correct this problem, they could refund the last amount we paid along with the amount we were told would be refunded to us when we canceled.

    A side note: I was home during each application, so I know what they did. There were only two technicians that I encountered. They were both friendly and cordial. However, of the applications: the first one the weeds actually flourished (we called and they came to apply another treatment 2-3 weeks later). The second application caused large sections of our yard to turn brown. (This was after several days of heavy rains so it couldn't be attributed to dry yard and burning) my husband heavily watered the yard in hopes of diluting whatever it was they put on it. Third and last application was okay. The technician could not really give us a clear reason for the browning on the second application.

    Conclusion: We were not impressed with the applications. Technicians were friendly and cordial, but do they really know what they are doing? And lastly, but more importantly we feel as if the agreement we originally made was changed on us. We feel like they baited us with a great service agreement in the beginning and then they switched it on us after we canceled. Bad business practice and bad, bad ethics. We don't believe in revenge and will not maliciously seek to verbally do them harm, but we will be truthful when asked - we will not recommend them at all and will encourage others to utilize someone else for their lawn care.

    Our lawn went from very good to beyond salvageable under TruGreen care. Sadly TruGreen did not return my calls (I left over 7 messages) marked urgent. Finally I called the corporate office and my complaint call was finally returned. 1 month passed from beginning of problem to receiving a call back. The GM came to my house and did nothing but argue. For sure one of the most rude, abrasive, unhelpful "service" worker I have met. PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT (lawn/shrubs). DO NOT LET THE INCOMPETENT TRUGREEN STAFF ON YOUR PROPERTY.

    Hiring TruGreen ended up being one of the worst decisions I have ever made. Their follow up is terrible and the services they performed were never what we've paid for. In 3 weeks, I have called 4 times to talk to someone about our account. Each time, we're given a different reason for their mistake and each time we're promised that a manger will call us to resolve it. We still have not received any calls. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this company as possible.

    We used TruGreen for our lawn care but the result is very bad. The lawn all died and they do not want do anything to repair it. They just call us to ask for more money for other services. I told them that all grass has died; what services it needs, but they kept calling. Do not use TruGreen. They just want your money.

    In early May, a TruGreen rep came to my door and talked me into a lawn service agreement. We talked a long time and he made a lot of promises. I was excited for my lawn to look better. I told him that mail does not go to my street address. He said they would call me for my credit card info. It even shows that on the contract. They never called and I never received a bill. He told me that they were behind on billing and that I would hear from them soon. They came 2 times and then stopped coming. I was promised they would come at least 5x. I only know about them coming 1x. There was no notice or sign that they were there more. I thought maybe they gave up on my yard and never thought about it again and never heard from them.

    Now it is October and the collection agency is calling. I called them and TruGreen. They say I owe for the 2 services. I paid the amount but I am very unhappy. It is not my fault that they did not call me or that they did not perform all of the services promised. It is in the contract!!! Two services did nothing for my yard. I should not have to pay for it. If they had settled this I probably would use them again next year and maybe the year after that. The phone agent was polite but obviously was not going to do anything or had no power to look at the bigger picture. I will not use a company that does not follow their own contract.

They really don't resolve weed control and consider other grasses that take over your St. Augustine grass acceptable. This is straight from the mouth of Rich, one of their managers. I have had True green for years. My yard now needs to be re-sodded and they really don't care and were quick to tell me "we don't re-sod yards as part of our warranty". These guys as I have experienced talk you into a high cost contract and then really don't do what they say they will and watch your yard as I have fail to weeds and other grasses. Even their installers talk bad about the co. BE WARNED, DON'T USE TRUE GREEN!

    This morning I called 1-800-745-5296 and talked with a man named Jeff??? I was calling about new service. When he gave me an estimate I expressed that I thought it was a lot of money (never said I wouldn't pay it). He asked for a credit card number - I declined. He asked for my checking information and I said that I would like to pay by check. He said he would send an invoice. I said ok. Then I asked if I could stop service any time. He said if it was for financial reasons yes. I wanted to make an appointment and he said that they would call the day before. I said that wouldn't work because I have other obligations and would like to have a specific day. He said that it was not possible. I said that if I couldn't be there then it would have to be rescheduled.

    He then proceeded to tell me that this was not a good fit for TruGreen or for me and ended the conversation. I know I asked a lot of questions with which he didn't seem happy. But, I don't think it is too much to ask to know more that a day ahead of a visit. If this is the way you treat potential customers, then I am surprised you are still in business. Needless to say, I am not at all happy. This letter was sent right after my phone conversation with Jeff??? It is safe to say I would not recommend this company. It seemed to me the most important thing to Jeff was getting information to collect money. This was even before I had a consultation with a tech.

    We signed up with TruGreen to spray our trees, paid on the spot and signed the contract. They came out and sprayed in the fall and said they would do the other sprays in the spring. When they came out in the spring, the guy didn't know I was home and I watched him. He barely sprayed our trees and missed many of them. I figured they were done and weren't going to come out any more, but they kept coming out and spraying our trees (which we felt they should since we didn't get what we paid for). But then they billed us for this. They credited us for this and I thought all was done. Well, I guess they came out again and now are trying to bill us again. I talked with the company today and relayed all the above and she said we owe for last month and she defended the bad service and said I have nothing to complain about since they credited past service. Are you kidding me! Who would ever want to use a company that is so awful on their service! We will not be using TruGreen in the future.

    We signed a contract for a seasonal plan including seeding and aeration. To date they have not serviced the correct area of our lawn. I contacted customer service twice them saying the tech will contact me. This was 9-12 and 13. After a week and doing their online survey, I have been speaking to the service manager. He also states I must talk to the tech. Well, today is 9-30. They have now seeded and aerated (mostly the wrong area) and still no call from the tech. The seed... laid openly on brown patches of sandy soil.. Will the birds eat it or will it blow away? No rain in sight. and of course I get a bill for over $200 to pay within ten days. What happened to the contract I signed for even payments of 68 dollars totaling $578?

    I have used TruGreen for many years, going back to when it was just "Chemlawn". Today, I am canceling its service which has become undependable. Last year, they were to perform aeration and seeding, but never showed up despite repeated calls. This year, the same thing has happened, and they have grown so large that it is impossible to reach anyone in the local branch; only "regional" is available. Other services have become less than satisfactory as well. Fortunately, I do not pay in advance, but by each service. But no more!

    I have three accounts and they all have problems. The first account I had the longest about 8 years, everything was fine till last year. Now my lawn looks terrible. The second account at my business, no one ever shows to spray and they continue to bill us. The third one they do not come out to re-spray for weeds as they promise. Just as soon as they come out to re-spray everything I will quit. One last thing, you never can get the office you sign up for. This is done on purpose so you never can yell at the person you talk to because they are in a different state.

    I paid to have my entire lawn serviced, both front and back. One day, my neighbor (another dissatisfied customer) happened to be home when they serviced my lawn. They only did the front yard. When my neighbor asked about it, the technician said that was all he was supposed to do. When I called TruGreen, they said that the technician was mistaken. I was also informed that the technician "could not remember" if he did the backyard on his previous visits. Therefore, it is impossible to determine how many times my backyard was serviced. I will not renew my contract. I cannot trust this company to honor the terms of the contract I signed.

    Been a customer for 6 to 7 years. First 5 were great, lawn looked good. About 2 years ago, their service when down hill. They would not show up when they said they would and not call to say they would be there. Every time I call, I get to talk with someone out of town, not the store I do business with. Have ask to speak to the boss, no return call. I know I pay a real low rate so if the problem is money, just ask me if I would mind a rate increase. I just need the Truegreen Chemlawn to be big enough to give me a return call to resolve the problem. I’m glad I pay by the service not by paying one year in advance.

    Signed up for a year service. Would not show up at scheduled time and kept delaying service. Attention: If they are not coming out and servicing your lawn, make sure to dispute this on your credit card. I wasn't even sent paperwork to fill out by Visa. They just automatically credited my account. I think Visa and TruGreen are overwhelmed with credit card disputes and automatically rule in your favor. This is the only way to hurt this company!!!!

    We were TruGreen customers for the last 3 years until today... Our grass is now completely dead, thanks to their LACK OF SERVICE and grub infested. After getting a service person to come see why our lawn looked horrendous, I was told that the reason our lawn looked as horrendous as it did was because we did not have a signed contract; hence they were not allowed to treat our lawn in the proper way (yes, you read that correctly). I prepaid for my year of service up front and now 9 months later, I am told this shocking and almost not believable information that I do not have a signed contract so no pesticides/chemicals of any sort can be applied. Well, I am thinking it would have been nice to know this prior to my lawn being destroyed and how is it that I was never told this information by any of the TruGreen representatives that I spoke with.

    After a million more calls, I finally get a return call from a general manger who tells me that he does not think it has anything to do with their service though they only fertilized this entire time of service and tells me there is a no money back guarantee and the fact that they dropped the ball on providing the service they promised pretty much meant not a thing to him. So bye bye to $500 we paid for our yearly service which got us DEAD, grub infested grass. DO NOT USE!

    The service was always behind schedule and they did not show up when they said they would. This caused a problem as I tried scheduling the lawn man on days they were not coming so the applications could be absorbed into the ground. That being said, the applications worked well and kept all the crabgrass and weeds away from my lawn. The applications were thorough and covered the full lawn. Also, I received a detailed report of what was done and recommendations of what was needed to be done. This was provided at each application.

    The problem I had with them was when I attempted to discontinue service because my grandson moved in and was going to College for a Degree in Earth Sciences and would take care of the lawn for me. Well, this set off an avalanche of telephone calls and letters that were incessant and brutal. While I kept telling them to leave me alone, I was ignored and this went on and on. I must have received 30 letters and 50 phone calls from near and far from TruGreen over a two-month period.

    To summarize, they did the best work on my lawn of anyone I had used. But their difficulties in communication both during and after I contracted with them posed some very serious problems. I will not return to them because of this when my grandson moves out. Instead, I will look for a Company that does the same quality of work but without the aggravation. So it's hard to rate: Quality of work: 5-Star; Communication and scheduling: 1-Star; So I guess total: 3-Star.

    If you have a current contract with this company or thinking about paying for this lawn and tree service, please don't. TruGreen is one of the worst companies to deal with. I was and will never be employed by them. My situation was as foolish as the way they are run. They miss appointments, promise customers and never come through. Never return phone calls. Bottom Line, they treat their employees worse than their customers. So don't sign with them. And cancel your contract if you have one now. You will thank me in the long run.

    Been with TruGreen for 6 or 7 years and for the last two of them, service has been going down quickly. Not only do the weeds outgrow the grass, but they are changing the radius of my property each and every treatment and don't even seem to care when I call. I have called repeatedly and typically, they say I don't have a record of you calling. The worst part is I used to have the best lawn in the neighborhood. I have referred them to most of my neighbors, never thinking twice about referring them. I discontinued my service with them last year.

    Oddly enough, I come home one day and there is a sign in my yard and a note on the door. I thought it would save me the hassle of finding a new service and gave them another chance only to double the disappointment this year, especially after receiving yet another price increase letter. I'm done!!!!

    First experience is horrible... I walked outside and saw a flag in my yard and a receipt. This wouldn't be a problem except I'm at home and nobody has done any work. Very disappointed. I called main office and they said they can't control the techs. I would recommend being at home when they are SUPPOSED to be treating your lawn. I am canceling today.

    I had been a TruGreen customer for several years. But over the past two years my lawn has given way too nothing but crab grass and clover. I have over 8,000 sq. feet of lawn and it is in complete shambles thanks to TruGreen. Never once did the "Lawn Care Professional" ever comment on the deteriorating state of the lawn. Never once did TruGreen show any concern about the condition of my lawn and offer a viable solution. All he would do is leave an invoice which gave watering instructions and indicated what the visit was for. Also the only feedback I got from TruGreen were the constant calls for payment even though we pay on a 30 day schedule and never deviate from it.

    TruGreen would call within two weeks and ask for payment. Very frustrating to deal with. Only when I told them they were fired did they show any concern. They said they would come out and work to make it good. Where were they when it was going bad? I said they could try to earn back my business if they wanted to bring my lawn back on their dime since I already paid them for total failure to live up to their promises. The silence on their end was deafening. They will not stand by their service. I paid big bucks for them to ruin my once beautiful lawn.

    Just to be fair, I did not call them as often as I should to have them come back and re-treatments; however I do not think it would have changed the outcome as previous re-treatments yielded no positive results. Also I do not mow my yard so I did not see the progressing invasion of weeds until it was too late. I figure that's what I paid TruGreen for. Stay away from TruGreen. It is because of them I have to lay in a new 8,000 sq. ft. lawn.

    I arrived to my Mother's house in Cincinnati and noticed her yard to be covered with more weeds than I have ever seen since buying the house in 1974. I told her I was going to buy weed killer. She told me that she had prepaid TruGreen for one year's worth of service. I called to discuss with TruGreen and was put on a long hold only to get an operator who claimed I would get a return call. Still waiting. Sad part is my Mother is legally blind and had no idea. I am very suspicious and pretty darn frustrated that she has been taken advantage of by this company! Images to follow.

    After 8 years of being a devoted customer, I found out that the actual lawn area measured by TruGreen was incorrect. Not only was it incorrect; but they have been charging me for 4500 square feet of lawn when my yard is actually 2,000 square feet because my whole backyard is pool and deck. When I called the office, I was told the manager would come out and re-survey the yard. I asked that no more service be performed until the matter was resolved. A few days later, I received a recorded call that they were coming to service my yard the next day. I called that morning and asked that no service be given until my yard is re-surveyed. I was told the manager was coming out to re-survey the yard the next day.

    I waited all day to meet with this manager and try to resolve the issue. No one came at all; not to service or resolve the issue. A few days later, I received a bill for services. I called and spoke with 3 very nice members of the company who truly tried to help me resolve this. Finally, I was able to get with the manager, and he was the most unprofessional individual I have ever attempted to do business with. I could not believe this was a manager. The rest of the staff had wonderful communication skills and customer service. However, this manager was rude, short-fused, and scary. He kept yelling at me asking me what I want and how much I want to pay. I repeatedly explained that what I wanted was my yard to be re-evaluated. He tried to tell me that the 4500 sq. feet on my bill meant nothing; that it was just a number that meant nothing.

    I asked why then my neighbors had different sq. footage on their bills and their bills were smaller. He said they probably got in on better deals or were customers longer than me. I said I've been a customer over 8 years and started out paying $33.10 and now I'm up to $62.00 a month not including my yearly aeration fee of over $100 nor red ant application of $60. Last year, I paid $818 for a 2,000 sq. ft. lawn and I'm finding out now that's ridiculous. So, I am waiting now for a regional director to call me back. We'll see what happens...not holding my breath.

    This is a post script for my August 20 review of TruGreen. After talking to many TruGreen representatives and not getting straight answers from any of them, I finally was connected to Nick who works in the retention center for TruGreen. As far as I can determine, he was responsible for having my payment credited back to my credit card account. His direct number is 1 877 340 9897. Maybe if enough people call him directly about their problems with TruGreen somebody down the line will get the message. By the way, he did try to explain that all of the complaints about TruGreen were because of new software that the company is using. Huh?

    We just started using TruGreen and they guaranteed our weeds would be gone. We had them back 3 times in a two-month period and still no luck with all the weeds, and now they are telling us that we have to pay again for the next scheduled service even though they still have yet to get rid of the weeds from the first initial treatment. They NEVER call before they come out and they keep missing the scheduled times we arranged for. When we call, the women in the office tell us they have changed schedules and will let us know when they can come back out. Then she tells us to wait up to 2 weeks to see some results from the weed killer and the workers who come out and spray said 5 to 7 days. Because of this they have told us we waited too long to let them know about the weeds this last time and now they have us down for a regular treatment and want more money. We have opted to NEVER use them again and warn others that the actual workers are wonderful but the office staff and customer service reps SUCK and do not know how to handle our situation.

    The first 2 years TruGreen did a good job-especially of getting rid of the field clover in our new lawn. Since then service has gone downhill. We were not going to re-up this year, but they gave us a discount and said service would be improved. Problems: Did not get our first treatment until May this year, and only after calling several times. Other neighbors were treated by TruGreen in early April. After calls to the office we were told a specific day they would be here, but they weren't. After this happened several times I called the central office and got service the next day. Each treatment has been late, we don't receive a pre-call that they are coming. Now we have a lawn full of crab grass due to the lack of timely treatment.

    On Saturday I spoke with a very pleasant office rep who listen to my problem and put us in for an inspection and service today-Tuesday. Of course they didn't show up. When I called the local office they told me I was scheduled for Wednesday. Tomorrow I will be calling the central office again. The lack of timely service is appalling. This will be our last year using TruGreen. By the way, our neighbors who use a different service, or those who were treated early have beautiful lawns. TruGreen doesn't use the same team to treat everyone on the street. Trucks are coming and going at different times.

    After listening to the slick salesperson telling me how great TruGreen is, I decided to give them a try because my lawn is presently filled with brown areas. The tech who came today was young and very unkempt. I asked him what was causing the brown areas and he said he wasn't sure. After about 10 minutes of standing there and looking at the lawn he said the problem might be caused by insects because he saw some flying around. When I asked him how much experience he had, he replied that he was just learning the business. I then asked him if he would like to have another tech look at the lawn. He said yes, and left.

    I then called the TruGreen number and talked to five or six different people, each time explaining what happened. I repeatedly asked to talk to the area service manager but they said I could not do that because they didn't have his phone number. They all assured me, however, that he would call me before the end of the day. Surprise, he never called back. I called my credit card company and explained that TruGreen had charged a year of service to my credit card but they were not even able to figure out what was causing the brown spots on my lawn. I am going to be sent a dispute form from the credit card company and hopefully will get my money back. Somebody should figure out a way to put a link on the TruGreen site so that potential customers would be sent to this site as soon as they clicked on the TruGreen link. That would have prevented me from signing up with a company that is obviously scamming a lot of people.

    I called TruGreen in March for weed control. They started doing all sorts of stuff I didn't order, such as tree and shrub care. Interestingly, I don't have one single tree or shrub in my entire yard. Then they started billing me for fertilization. After numerous phone calls to TruGreen, they assured me that these accounts had been canceled and that I would receive no further billing from them. Now they have turned me over to a collection agency for the tree and shrub care and for the fertilization, none of which I ordered. When I called them, they conveniently had "no record" of my ever having called them, yet they showed my account canceled. Hmmm. This company just smacks of fraud. I am still fighting with them and have filed a complaint with the State Attorney General Consumer Fraud Division.

    I hired TruGreen last year and had the WORST customer service experience. Everything from charging my account incorrectly, to not having my calls returned. There was no way possible to access Management. It was exhausting trying to communicate with them and have my questions/concerns responded to. Then, after I ended my contract, I received countless calls for months (even after I asked them to stop calling me) trying to convince me that they have changed management, they understand my concerns and they will be address in attempts to get me to sign up with them again.

    Then, Spring comes and my lawn is ruined. I have huge patches with no grass, weeds that I had never had before, it was just destroyed. I tried all summer to recover it but it is a mess. Last week I decided to call TruGreen and see if there is anything they would do about it. I was told by the customer service rep. that someone from Management would call me w/in 48 hours. That was 5 days ago, and needless to say, I have not heard from them. I cannot believe they stay in business.

    I've been using TruGreen services for 3 or 4 years. The first year they did something to kill my lawn in back yard. This lawn was very green and growing nicely. They claimed it was because it wasn't getting enough sunlight. We had fescue growing. I still continued to use them and told them not to treat the back yard anymore. They continued to treat front and back yard and billing me for it. The first couple of years I paid yearly to save money. Then I started noticing they weren't coming to treat as regular.

    Last year we started getting a lot more weeds and complained. So, this year I pay as they treat. Sure enough they didn't treat but they were billing me. I called customer service and asked why they are billing me when no one serviced lawn on said date. They rescheduled my service and again they said they treated lawn yet no one came out. So, I called them and ask what is going on. They said they would investigate and get back to me. They scheduled someone to come out that Thursday and they came. I called and asked why their technician is saying he was here and he wasn't? This person said sorry for miscommunication. I told her it is lying and deceiving, not miscommunication. Then she said they were scheduled to come out again and I said, "No, you just treated lawn."

    So, my complaint is against a company whom charges for services not rendered and not paying for damage or making good for damage to back yard. It will cost me $1295 to bring yard back like it was.
