Both of our neighbors have lawns filled with creeping charlie but we have TruGreen service and have none in our yard. The specialists have worked really hard to keep it out. Our lawn is beautiful. If you have trouble with this terrible weed ask TruGreen for help!

Our yard has an huge amount of the thistle (a prickly weed) in it. Do your treatments completely eliminate this weed? It is very unsightly and extremely difficult to keep up with. Also, it appears that two ornamental beds were not treated.

Right off the bat, I was impressed with the person that performed the treatment. Someone happened to be at the house when he came, and the TruGreen tech answered every question we asked. He said he treated every square inch of the property and that we should expect to see results within a few day and we did! He reminded us that if we weren't satisfied, just to call and he would come back out. We are in the process of trying to establish our lawn and so far, things are looking GREEN! The grass is coming in thick and lush. The weeds and crabgrass are all turning and hopefully with this 2nd treatment, we'll see even better results.

When I signed up with TruGreen, they told me I would be paying approx. $58.00 for services rendered every 4-6 weeks. From 4-10-17 to 5-10-17 they will have charged me for 3 applications ($58 each). What happened to every 6 weeks. I find this to be false advertisement. I am so disappointed with them. My suggestion is that you find someone local and work out a plan. Funny thing is, I had this same service 5 years ago. I was hoping they changed their work ethic, but I found out the hard way that they have not changed at all.

I use to treat my lawn with store bought lawn food. And over time the lawn was diseased and browning in many areas. After signing up for service with TruGreen my grass appearance, color and thickness was quickly noticeable. The cost of the yearly TruGreen service for my lawn actually cost me less than when I purchased and feed my grass on my own.

When I signed up for this service it was face to face with the TruGreen salesperson. I specifically said the reason I have not used this service in the past is that I am not comfortable with any lawn treatments in the backyard - when I signed up for this service I SPECIFICALLY said front yard only. The rep understood - and signed me up for this service for the front yard only.

Today, a neighbor called me and said they had treated the backyard. I immediately went home to speak with the service person. He said he made a mistake - said his paperwork said both front and back yards. I called the local Syracuse office - my request was to have the backyard rinsed off immediately to dissolve the application - I was told that I may receive a call within 24 hours. I call corporate office in Rochester. They informed me my complaint has been escalated - I would be called back within 24 hours. I requested an immediate callback - my request was noted. This is a pesticide application with noted warnings for humans and animals - which is why I specifically requested front yard service only as my dogs use the backyard only as I do. This type of mistake is unacceptable. I have cancelled service and I'm waiting for a resolve to this.

I have used several lawn services. Most recently Scott's. In EVERY case I have made it clear that the hire is only for one year. I quit TruGreen several years ago when my lawn showed no improvement. Evidently Scott's sold out to TruGreen and they showed up recently for a treatment stating that my service was automatic. I asked the guy to leave before he began a treatment. He did. I was then billed for the treatment which didn't happen. Spent time on the phone denying that there had been any treatment. She kept after me. I answered the same question, "No" several times. These people are weasels. No notice management had changed. No warning they were coming. Lots of silliness about how I had a contract even though owners had changed.

I have had TruGreen services since the end of 2015. I opted for TruGreen to begin service on a better than average yard. The yard continued to look good until a freeze which hit in Jan 2017. I started to call them for "touch ups" after I noticed that my yard was still looking brown (even after the neighbor's yards were getting their color back). They came out to touch up and the yard was progressing (still at a slower rate than other yards) so I gave the yard a chance to catch up. Was noticing that I was having more weeds than normal so I contacted them again to return for a touch up.

To sum it up, I am no longer giving them the chance to "catch up" as my yard still has dead spots along the edges. I even had the aeration and another service performed last year which did nothing at all for my yard. I am vehemently requesting a refund for this year (at least 3 months) since they could not produce as promised. My neighbor's yard is so green and thick as compared to mine and he just started leasing about 2 months ago... He did this all on his own and for a fraction of the cost.

We understand that your neighbor similarly within their first year is having great results, but in comparing yours with theirs this year it poses a concern for you. Although we do not offer a money back guarantee, we offer the free reservices guarantee. I see that you did utilize 2, of the unlimited, that can be requested through an active full program. Allowing us to access and service the property is how we remedy such concerns as the resulting "dead spots around the edges" that you have described. We are sorry to see that you have discontinued your services.

TruGreen promises you a green beautiful lawn with no weeds, but all I have is weeds. They have been servicing my lawn for about 3 years, because I had got into a contract with them for that long. All their promises are never met. So don't believe this Company. My yard is always with weeds, and all these guys come in is to try pushing for more service add-ons from them, while they can't keep up to the promise they already made.

Recently my yard is full of weeds, and even though I have raised a complaint with TruGreen, it's been more than a week, and they have least bothered to resolve the issue. I had to reach out couple of times to know what was going on. The customer care folks seems to be very friendly, but when it comes to service and what you pay for, it's a rip-off and never kept to their promises. Why would you pay them and then been on the hook to look for weeds, call them regularly and request - to please service the yard more professionally. I was told the service manager would be in touch, which didn't happen. Now I am told the General Manager would be in touch... which also has not happened yet.

I am attaching some photos for you to see how they take care of your lawn if you happen to be not on their back for every time you see a weed in the yard. I would never recommend them to you... See the photos and still feel convinced, please go ahead and do business with them. TruGreen has been maintaining my lawn for 3 years... now.

I see that you have not utilized them so I would like to explain that TruGreen offers free and unlimited reservices in between

your regularly scheduled paid visits upon request, to address additional concerns (such as weeds). When initially contracting with TruGreen to provide service for my lawn I provided specific instructions that I didn't want to have my bill automatically deducted from my checking account. Additionally, I was told my first service would be 50% off. Upon receiving the first treatment, my checking account was debited for 100% of the charge, not the 50% offered. After contacting the company on two occasions, they said they would provide a credit to my account which took about 10 days. The day after the credit was processed I received a bill in the mail for the 50% charge. I immediately contacted TruGreen and was told they would correct this erroneous billing.

This month, I again received a bill in the mail for the charge. I'm now told that 3 days after the first service they provided another service and are charging for that, even though I work from home and no one came to apply another service on the day in question. Be very wary of the billing practices of this company. I cancelled my service and went with a competitor and have been very satisfied. I will continue to warn friends away from this company due to the deceptive billing practices and their poor customer service. I finally gave up and will be paying the amount so as not to have to deal with this company further. My time and effort is worth more than the $57 they are trying to elicit from me.

Ross, we apologize for any billing confusion.

The promotion that you are describing is to have the first application of fertilizer and weed control reduced by 50% for being a new customer who has enrolled in easy pay. You have stated that you did not want easy pay, but wanted the promotional cost. In order to receive the promotion the above criteria would have needed to be met, this is the reason you supplied the account information and how they were able to charge for it.

As listed on your welcome aboard letter, which outlined your confirmed services, the lime treatment is displayed with the cost. This is the first treatment you had thus were charged for the application. You also later had the promotional priced weed/feed which was mailed at your request to no longer have easy pay.

The service information was listed next to the cost on your welcome aboard letter. We are truly sorry to see that you opted to cancel the services.

Never had their service that's how bad they are. I called him on a Friday. Was quoted a price and I said OK and we can only do it on a Tuesday so I was told this would be the first call on Tuesday. Waited for a call on Monday never got a call. It was around 10:30 in the morning I decide to call TruGreen and I was told that our appointment was on a Thursday and I told the gentleman that we only can do Tuesday. He said that he would have a manager give us a call. Unfortunate hour and a half went by no manager gave us a call. So I called back and I was told that this appointment will not be taking place today and he said, "It may tell me the manager would not get back to me for 24 hours or 48 hours."

First of all this was not our mistake it was their mistake. On their behalf just imagine if we did get the service what happened afterwards. We never got the service because we got the screw around runaround. I would never recommend this for anybody. Run. Beware. Do not, do not suggest them at all. I told the guy to refund our money. This is a bad company for not to get a service and this is how they act before they get the service. Oh one more thing they take out the money right away even though you didn't have the service yet. I guess my husband and I will do the yard work. We will save 1400.00. Beware this is not a good company. Didn't have their service is planning on getting their service but right from the very beginning it was bad so I would write not recommend this to anyone.

I tried TruGreen last year for the first time and at first the service was good and my grass looked good. Then I started getting bare spots and weeds, I contacted TruGreen and they sent the tech out to do a free application to fix it but no changes. In fact it got worse. I had a manager come out and see the yard and he had the tech come back again for another application that was supposed to be free but I got invoiced for them both and had to call to get that fixed but still have bare spots and weeds.

So the end of the year came and they did a free end of year service and promised this year I would see the difference and benefits of TruGreen. So April 1st came and no one showed up after they called me in March. With a new area manager everything would be great this year. I have called them and talked to 3 different people and I keep missing the manager's call because I am at work. So I call back and never can get him. So it's the end of April and no service and another year of unhappy service with TruGreen.

UPDATED ON 05/09/2017: So I posted a bad review on TruGreen on May 4 and I received a response during work on the 5th and I returned the call 15 minutes later and they answered Leisure Lawn. So I told them that I was returning a call and gave them my name and she told me that I need to call TruGreen and I replied that the call came from this number and she informed me that she couldn't help me, REALLY!!! Then why call me from this number???? So in their reply to my bad review on them they said they have tried to contact me on May 2 which is incorrect.

But I did call on May 5th and got the same old promise that the manager would give me a call back and the lady that I was talking to kinda had this tone like this situation is funny and I even told her I do not expect any calls and she reassured me that she would make sure that the situation would be resolved. Well here it is May 9th and no returned calls!!!! I am not surprised why does this company make it so hard to get my lawn serviced and why doesn't the manager Eric in the Vandalia branch answer his cell phone and return messages that I left him numerous times!!!! This company is horrible and unprofessional!!!!

Updated on 10/15/2018: So it's been over 2 weeks and I still have bare/dead and brown grass all over, the seeding on the 27th of September has yielded no results. It takes 10 to 14 days for the seed to start showing growth and all I see is seed laying in dead/brown/bare spots but no grass but I still have plenty of weeds, I am so agitated and unhappy with TruGreen. I would have been better off not treating the yard at all. This is embarrassing and ridiculous and stressful and you would think that TruGreen would be more into repairing my yard. It's their name on this horrible looking yard and they haven't even touched base with me to see what's going on and if I am happy with their service and to check and see if my yard is recovering, never again will TruGreen service my yard. They have destroyed my yard and I am letting everyone know who is responsible for this crappy looking yard.

Don't know when I come to house." This did not make me feel good about the level of professional service I am supposed to receive for lawn care. I called Customer Service and was told that a service manager would not come out or call until we see what will happens with today's service. I can't even communicate with the associate so how will my lawn get serviced? TruGreen has truly built in a system so that you have to take their poor service and no one cares about the quality. They have created a business that insulates itself from anything besides taking your money and sarcasm must be part of their Customer Service training.

Our TruGreen technicians have always been great at taking care of our lawn, shrubs, and trees. They'll let us know what's going on, even if it's "unpleasant". As an example, we have an extensive row of Indian Hawthorn bushes that TruGreen has revived from near death but are not native to our area and do not winter well here. They were, however, cheap and "pretty" when the builders put them in place. Knowing that the bushes aren't native allows us to budget for replacements down the road rather than wondering why they're not doing flourishing. The honest approach - rather than trying to upsell more expensive maintenance packages we don't need - makes us want to keep TruGreen maintaining our lawn and recommending them whenever we can.

But no matter how hard we try, the strip next to my beautiful driveway still has some weeds, particularly on the side of the neighbor's driveway.

I wouldn't trade Anthony ** for any other specialist, he is friendly, and does a great job, what an asset to TruGreen. I called TruGreen sometime around the end of March, beginning of April 2016, thinking I would be able to schedule someone to come out and take a look at my lawn with me to tell me how they could best help. I quickly realized that the people answering the phone are there to get you to buy a service over the phone and they are not interested in consulting first. I went ahead and paid for a full year's services in advance for the discount.

After a few months of seeing no real results I responded to an email requesting a review and let them know I was not happy with the services. Even after their applications I continued to pick weeds and didn't see any change in the health of my yard. They responded that if weeds were still present you have to call for reapplications. The weeds never went away. Knowing I was unhappy with the service, TruGreen continued to come out in 2017 to do three additional applications; now totaling $127 within 6 weeks. That's almost half of what a full year's worth of services cost me last year.

So they continued to provide service with no results, but this time just charge me more. To this point I have still not seen any change in the condition of my yard and continue to pull weeds every weekend. I finally called and canceled, and they are still holding me liable for payments for services that seem to have done nothing. I would not recommend this company to anyone for lawn care.

I had a very unpleasant experience after having TruGreen service my lawn for approximately 10 years. I always pay my bill on time. Overall, their customer service was acceptable, with a few issues that were difficult to resolve, but I would say I would have rated them a "3-star" over the years. My lawn looked good, but I have good soil and conditions. I used them because I did not want to remember what lawn care products to apply (and when to apply them). Easier to hire them, I thought. For the first 8 years, it was OK. The lawn looked good... I had a few issues, which when I told the service tech about them, he did not seem to give a hoot. Instead, I just got excuses.

In fact, about two years ago, I cancelled the TruGreen service and switched to "Scotts" Lawn Care. Unfortunately, apparently, the two companies had some kind of merger, and soon the same TruGreen truck and tech showed up to do the treatments. He told me they had merged, with a smirk on his face... Alas... modern living.

Last year, the drought did some pretty serious damage to my lawn. I began raking and seeding up the dead grass, and reseeded a portion of my lawn. After I just started doing this TruGreen just happened to call and ask if I wanted to get aeration and seeding. I said yes, thinking that would work, with the soils deposited on the surface, and the seed, it would be as good as me doing it. The service was just under $300. They came out, but I saw NO seed on the lawn, only a small pile left on my driveway. I thought that was odd, and got on my hands and knees searching for seed. All I could find was the seed I put out... which was different because it was a seed coated in blue. But since I have done my lawn for years, I know what regular seed looks like. I called them about this, and they said they would send someone out to spread some seed.

Weeks went by, and two "supervisors" came out. One tried to sell me another service... but no seed. Finally, after several calls, and 6 weeks, I was told "not to worry because the service is guaranteed." Finally, someone came out and spread the seed. By then, all of the blue seed had sprouted because I was watering it. Since it was November, however, it was too late in the year for it to sprout. So I lost the advantage of the fall seeding over the aeration. Come spring, my lawn looked awful, and got inundated with moss.

Since I was thinking about selling my house, I called them again in late winter to get them to honor the guarantee they espoused. I was told it was too early to do anything and to call back in April. I did, and after several calls, they sent out a supervisor, who had about six reasons why I was wrong when I said they did not seed after the aeration. This included: the seeds fall in the aeration holes; I did not water the lawn enough and it takes 6 weeks to germinate; he knows the person who aerated my lawn, and he would not have forgot to seed... and basically said I was lying when I said I watered the lawn, and that all of the seeds could not have fallen directly into the aeration holes which were separated by 6 inches on center and only about 3/4 inch in diameter. He also could not say the name of the person after telling me he was so certain he was reputable.

Well, I know a list of BS when I hear it. Anyway, I said I wanted to speak to his supervisor. What a waste of time that was. He started by telling me that he had worked with the other guy for 20 years, and while he can have issues, the way the lawn was described, that TruGreen could not do anything to help me. So much for the guarantee. Instead, he offered to refund my money for the aeration and seeding. So much for standing behind your product. When I expressed dissatisfaction with that answer, and cancelled my service, he was taken aback, at first, but said OK, and tried to give me a cancellation reference number. I asked him to text it to me, since I was driving.

When I didn't get it, I called back to get it. I figured at that time I would also try to talk to someone who understands customer service... and wound up getting connected to him, again. He asked me why I kept calling back, and hung up on him earlier. I did not hang up on him, but I did get tired of listening him tell me that he would not do anything to help me get my lawn back. I ended the call asking him to text me the cancellation number, which he said he would. At one point, he said something about my "ignorance." Not a word to use when talking to a long time customer. I can understand all of the issues with lawns not being perfect, but the rudeness that they showed when things were not going well was unacceptable. It is when things are not going right that people show their True (Green) colors.

I called to complain and the lady in customer service argued that applying the product while raining is actually preferred - which my research proved is incorrect. I wind up having to purchase weed and feed myself and apply to keep the weeds down.

Each year I have more weed issues than the previous year. I asked the technician what can be done to improve my lawn but I quickly realized he was just there to apply the chemical. Due to steady thinning of my lawn I ordered an aeration service several weeks ago. Last week an auto message stated they would provide the aeration service the next day. No one showed up. I called and they scheduled it for today. Someone from Cincinnati called my wife and asked if we had questions about the aeration service. My wife asked if they were coming due to bad weather today. I was hoping to receive half of the funds I paid because only a small portion of my lawn was treated. However, I called a couple of times, left messages and still no call back from a manager. Consequently, I let it go.

Yesterday I return home to find TruGreen flags on my lawn. I have called TruGreen 5 times the past two days to cancel my service. I finally receive a voicemail from a man from TruGreen who tells me that they treated my lawn yesterday not to worry. I am writing to state that this is the worst example of terrible customer service I have ever experienced. I found I have a forty dollar credit I want returned to me. Again, I am requesting reimbursement for funds I paid for work never done to my property. Thanks.

Showed me the problems and let him go on telling me what he thought and everything was pretty much just a long shot of what he knew. I have an established landscape company for years now and did not tell him that and knew what exactly was going on, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. It was a Spanish gentleman and was nice. After 3 treatments my lawn was destroyed with the weeds still there! WOW and it wasn't because of my watering or anything I did. OWN UP OR GET OUT OF BUSINESS, which luckily for you guys should not be that far off if you keep treating customers you do have this way. AVOID AT ALL COST GO TO ANYONE ELSE AT ALL!!!

In the fall of 2016 we started service with TruGreen. They indicated they would perform the service every four to six weeks. I told them that I knew when they said that it really meant they were going to service every month to pad their billing. I stated that I only wanted service every eight weeks. They said that would be no problem. Their service schedule for lawn and trees and shrubs began. We set up an automatic pay through our checking account so they could withdraw the payments as service was performed. We signed no contract and were told we could cancel our service at anytime. TruGreen would call and advise when the service technician was coming. If we didn't take the call it would go into the answering service which we check infrequently.

Their service protocol was to send a technician to do the lawn and send a separate technician to do trees and shrubs. That meant two treatments each month for which we could be billed. I called their office and complained. In November we called again and stated that they were servicing our account more than what we had agreed upon and wanted to cease service. We had no service in December and none in January of 2017. We had assumed our service was canceled.

February of 2017 rolled around and TruGreen came out and serviced the lawn. They withdrew the service charges from our checking account. Then again in February, they performed the tree and shrub service. Instead of withdrawing the funds from the checking account they left an invoice on the door. We didn't pay the invoice and collection calls started coming. My wife took one of the calls and told them she was sending a check and that we no longer wanted the service, to please cancel any future service visits.

Today, April 3, 2017, we received a call. Only the phone number came up on caller ID and not the name of the company. I answered the phone and it was TruGreen again advising us of a service call for the following day. I called TruGreen back on their toll-free number and once again canceled their service. In addition, I contacted my bank to cease any additional draft for payment of services. The customer service personnel of this company do not listen to what the customer says. I have had several lawn care companies provide service. Each has had their pluses and minuses, but TruGreen has the worst customer service agents of them all and among the worst of all companies I have done business with. I would never recommend TruGreen.

First request was in March 2015. I requested them to spray for crabgrass in middle of March. They told me they would. The first application was April 29, 2015. Crabgrass was already growing in yard. Killed several flowers in yard that year. I had crabgrass all of 2015. In 2016, was promised they would do a better job and spray yard in middle of March. They sprayed yard April 13th. 2016. Crabgrass and several other annual grasses have taken over several places in the yard. I had the University of Kentucky inspect yard and was told yard was not sprayed early enough.

All TruGreen wants to do is argue and curse about the types of grass in yard. UofK said 95 percent of yard problems would be solved by spraying yard in middle of March like I was promised two years in a row. I have paid $1439.59 in two years and the yard looked a whole lot better when I treated it myself. They also sprayed and killed an entire 20X30 flower bed. Will cost 1200 dollars to replace. I have asked for replacement of cost of flowers with no results. Calling the corporate office, I was promised on two different occasions that I would get a call from a manager within 48 hours and never received call.

Specialist applied a treatment that killed three mature Japanese Blueberry ornamental trees. Company has not satisfactorily addressed my complaint. They offered to refund the cost of treatment which indicates they acknowledge their mistake. However, the treatment cost is nowhere near what the replacement cost of the trees will be. Customer number: **. Service date: 3/24/2017 11:52 am. Service by: Crayvon **. Service: Called out to treat Japanese Blueberry Ornamental trees because we noted some spider webs and leaf spots.

Issue: Specialist sprayed 0.8984 gal of "Dormant Horticultural Oil Application" at a concentration of 7.5 gal / 1000 sqft that was high in nitrogen (17-2-5). The treatment was applied mid-day and it rained later that evening. The next day leaves began dropping from all three trees. After two days the trees are largely barren of leaves and the trunk and branches have turned black in color. The death of the trees is clearly a consequence of the treatment applied. Moreover, the trees didn't need a fertilizer treatment as the callout was for insect / leaf spot -- not for fertilization.

I called TruGreen and was told a supervisor would return my call. When no one returned my call, I called again and connected with a supervisor who said that he would refer my complaint to another. TruGreen later called and asked for pictures which I provided and was told a supervisor would come out. After no one came (I stayed home waiting all day), I called again and was forwarded to a supervisor and left a voice mail that was not returned.

After coming to the realization that TruGreen is not taking accountability for their mistake, I decided to file this complaint. They've since come back offering to refund the cost of the treatment which is nowhere near the cost of replacement of the trees. Desired Resolution: I would like the three trees replaced with comparably sized trees. I do not want a refund, or a discount because neither would adequately compensate for the loss of three mature trees.

The person on the line tried to keep us as a customer, but my husband was clear with them that this was a NO. A week later, after we had purchased pre-emergent, I come home, let the dogs out and notice a wet lawn THEN the sign.

They called us, we canceled. Pre-emergent on lawn. Our dogs on a wet chemically treated lawn. Had to call customer service. We did not have a contract with TruGreen - ever. Marla showed that we had canceled (though she said 3 times we called and I corrected her every time) but could not ensure we would not be billed since the person who sprayed our yard had not submitted the bill. She said she would have a manager call us, but I will file a BBB complaint, which I have never done, as there was NEVER a contract with this company and us. THEN she asked if she could help us with anything else. Yeah, not happening, I am still VERY concerned about our dogs.

If there were a negative Star category TruGreen would deserve it. My first application on 3/7/2017 was applied during the rain. I work from home and somehow managed to miss the Specialist but I had yard signs in my front and backyards letting me know that someone was there. It rained for about 3 hours that day. This was my first visit for ONLY $29.95. One week later, on 3/15/2017 I had another TruGreen sign in my yard. Foolishly, I thought that the "Specialist" had returned to re-apply the weed treatment since the week prior it was raining during and after his visit.

However, on 3/17/2017 I noticed a charge of $46.95 from TruGreen on my bank statement. I called TruGreen to inquire about the additional charge of $46.95 and was told it was for a Lime treatment. When I inquired as to why I wasn't made aware of the treatment, (hello courtesy call) I was told simply this is the only time I will see that charge. I told the TruGreen rep my concern about my first weed treatment and I was informed that the rain would help "water in" the weed treatment. After I insisted that after a week, the weeds look as hearty as ever, I was told that someone would come back out within 3 days.

On 3/21/17 I received an email that my lawn was serviced on 3/20/2017. I work from home and no one from Trugreen was here on 3/20/17. I did not have a yard sign for the treatment or a receipt. Not to mention I can see the road from desk and TruGreen was never here. Yesterday, on 3/21/17 I called TruGreen to notify them that although I received an email stating I had service, I did not receive service. The TruGreen associate was very polite and told me that someone would come back out. I stressed to the associate that I need to receive a courtesy call before anyone comes out because I have a fence and I have dogs in the backyard. The associate assured me that the technician would call and that I am on the auto call list as well. I asked for and she gave me the number that TruGreen will call from.

Today, 3/22/17 I have spent all morning in my backyard. Pulling weeds from my rock-beds and scrubbing the pool deck. Around 1:00 I heard the UPS driver out front and went to the front yard. I had my UPS package and a TruGreen yard sign crammed in my front door and a receipt from the TruGreen specialist that he serviced my yard from 12:40 pm - 12:42 pm. He serviced my yard in 2 mins, about as long as it would take him to walk to my front door. And the receipt said that I was not available for signature. If the "Specialist" had actually serviced my yard he would have found me in the backyard, where I was, pulling weeds.

This has been the BIGGEST WASTE of money I have ever encountered. Apply treatment during a downpour, false claims of servicing the yard... dropping by to drop off a receipt... unreal. I would NEVER recommend this company. I live in Peachtree City, GA and I will be going with a local company. I canceled my service today. I should've have demanded my money back, but that would be more headache than its worth. This experience has been extremely frustrating.

All I wanted/needed was someone to spray weeds. Good Grief!! $76.90 later and all I have is yard signs, emails that I've had service, a paper receipt and a yard full of weeds... DONT trust this company. The technicians in the Atlanta area are not professionals. This level of service is disgusting and inexcusable. I will add that the TruGreen Associates I spoke with on the phone were all very courteous. However, the yard "specialist" S. ** is costing TruGreen customers. Management should maybe have a chat with this guy.

In reviewing your account I see that this concern has never been expressed and wanted to offer a resolution to assist moving forward.

Where do I begin? I bought a house half a year ago that had sod in the front yard and Seed in the back. The yard was green but I had a couple patches and it needed to get a little bit more work to make it Lush and vibrant as I was doing some major Landscaping projects in the house. I hired TruGreen and signed up for your service and after the first treatment I started noticing my grass starting to die. I was told that there would be patches dying out due to a killing the crabgrass and not to worry as it would just be those spots that would die out not everything. Boy were they wrong. Within the first month my entire yard including all the sod was completely dead and turning into mud.

I called and was told that after the next treatment I would start seeing it coming back and they guaranteed it would grow. Still nothing came up and I had to start seating yard myself to try to get something on it and hope I would not get fined by the homeowners association for how hard my yard was starting to look. Last week a tech came out and decided that pre-emergent would just make it worse and try to put down fertilizer and they were going to come back out and try seeding soon. Send my yard is continued to get worse so I called customer service yet again and this time they did not guarantee that it would grow and after conversation with the rep on the phone my request was although it is not the ideal time of year to do it I need an aeration and overseeding done now because my yard was completely damaged for what they had done.

Threat told me she was local and had to wait for manager approval but I would get a phone call back from her guarantee within 24 hours and of course that never happened. I called 48 business hours later and reached you, talk down to me and demean me during the entire conversation like I was incompetent and didn't know what I was talking about. I am at the point where I've been promised call after call and all this company has done is destroyed my entire yard and now is backing out on promising to make it right to the point of filing complaint with the Better Business Bureau and following a fraud charge on my credit card for them selling me a service that did the opposite of what it was supposed to do.

I've never met a company whose customer service reps are more disrespectful. They do not stand by their service and they do not fix what they damaged. I am truly saddened that I ever made the effort of even going with them. Still waiting a supervisor call back which I was promised yet again and no will not happen. Do not go with this company at all as it is hit-or-miss on what kind of results you will get. Understand no guarantee quickly or anything like that an improvement in my yard but if my yard goes from having grass to turning into complete mud I need to make it right. It's like going to a mechanic to get your car fixed and he doesn't fix it but keep your money. Got the pictures attached. The green grass picture is before TruGreen. The brown and dying is after TruGreen.

I moved into this condo complex which is really a PUD complex 3 years ago. We have our own yards but TruGreen does our lawn treatments for Weeds and fertilization. Half my lawn was seeded and half was Sod. They both were watered extensively and the sod was established. The seeded area was initially not very well established but spring and fall I over seeded it. I got curious and took a sample of soil from the areas that were seeded. I sent them to Brookside labs in New Bremen Ohio. The results I received were enlightening. The pH of the soil was 8.2 for grass that is way too high. The Soluble Salts levels was way below the average needed for a lawn. The Nitrates (NO3 were 9.5 ppm where it should have been a bit higher).

My point is that your services has not helped improve the condition of my lawn at all, except for killing weeds. I have called and ask to have my serviced paused this spring because I am having my lawn overseeded and they will apply fertilizer. I also do not want preemergent applied because of the seeding. I know lawn care is not an exact science. I also realize that there are many conditions that affect the quality of a lawn. But 3 years is plenty of time to show improvement.

I am sick of TruGreen telemarketers trying to upsell Mosquito spraying at this time of year! I have received 4 calls in one month! There are NO mosquitos in SoFlo during the dry season! None in Dec - April. Leave me alone and just do what I signed up for... weed kill! Also don't try to sell "aerating" the lawn. A lawn expert at Home Depot told me that's absurd in South Florida. Totally UNNECESSARY!

I will never use TruGreen again. Five years ago they treated my lawn. Soon after, about a 1/3 of the front lawn died. When I asked for them to fix my lawn, they responded, made a feeble attempt to repair the lawn. The treatment did not work. When I told them I wasn't going to pay for the service that killed my lawn, they responded by turning the payment over to a collection agency. Rather than go through the hassle of trying to get a satisfactory response, I paid the bill. I have told their reps who continue to come to my house to take me off all lists and never to ring my bell again. They continue to send me flyers and come to the house. I also used their service when they were ChemLawn with similar negative results. I would stay away from this firm.

I paid, a lot, for a TruComplete Lawn Plan and the Tree and Shrub Care Plan. I had high expectations of their services since it looked like there were great reviews. UNFORTUNATELY, just on the first day, the LAWN technician, a.k.a. Specialist (seriously?), was already cutting corners! Accordingly (and it was also printed on their receipt), he did a Fertilizer, Preemergent, and Broadleaf Weed Control. But what we saw, was just "sprays" on SOME areas of the front and back lawns. Our lawn has weeds all over. All he did was spray on some patches of weeds... I didn't even want to think where the "fertilizer" treatment was with the way he was going. It took him just way, way less than 30 minutes to do the treatments.

I could have done those "spraying" myself, and would have done a better job! I called TRUGREEN the very next day, early morning, and CANCELED everything. I didn't want to spend a minute more talking with a dishonest company like this. Their site is very misleading. Now, my lawn still has the weeds all over, even on the areas he, apparently, sprayed.

This company is more interested in increasing business rather than service existing customers. Sales staff walk the neighborhood soliciting new business, but getting regular lawn service care is not a priority. Getting a manager to return a call is a rarity. Scheduling 2 customers in the same block in the same day is not an organized plan. So, one gets serviced, the other customer 2 doors down still waits another week, even when the manager does place a call guaranteeing the date (service tech does not show up).

I am a new customer. First experience with an application of phosphorous. I catch the tech applying with a bowl, not a spreader. I call for a supervisor who says the guy was warned before, so he himself applies it. He tells me my first treatment will be in 72 hrs. No one shows up for 25 days. When I get my 2nd date of schedule, no one shows up even though my neighbor 2 yards down is serviced. I now am waiting another week for my application. My request for a callback is ignored. I am very disappointed in TruGreen. I'm ready to cancel.

After battling an illness that nearly cost me my life on two occasions, I was unable to care for my lawn. It had developed dead and bare spots that covered approximately 25% of the yard. I contacted TruGreen and specifically asked them if they were able to restore the bare spots, as that was my primary request. They assured me they could over the phone and also sent out a representative to offer his opinion. Again, I only was concerned with the bare spots and asked for an honest evaluation, if that could be accomplished by TruGreen, otherwise I would hire a landscaping contractor to have the lawn re-sodded. TruGreen said they could salvage the yard, but it would need to be thatched, aerated and over-seeded, all of which I had done. (Aeration was done by a contractor unrelated to TruGreen)

After the aeration and thatching, TruGreen over-seeded the lawn but it was unsuccessful. I called and complained and TruGreen then came out and attempted a second over-seed. That attempt also failed. Meanwhile I was getting treatment for weeds and fertilization. The lawn did turn green but the bare spots never were filled (lawn was never restored) as promised. I finally called to cancel service but TruGreen insisted I pay their last bill that was sent so me for approximately $50 dollars for fertilization which I refused. I spoke to a customer service rep who was in discussion with a manager about the issue, but TruGreen insisted I still owed them for the service.

All totaled, I have spent over $800 for TruGreen services and my primary concern, the bare spots, were never fixed. After discussion with a family attorney, I am considering a lawsuit in small claims court to have my money refunded back to me. I have pictures of the lawn and all the invoices for evidence. Also, most businesses these days record telephone conversations, so if I proceed with the lawsuit, I will request a transcript of the initial telephone conversation which clearly requested the bare spots filled in, and nothing more. I feel this company lied to me to get my business and they were unable to restore the lawn as promised. I would never use this business again nor recommend them to anyone.

We did not pay the bill as she said she didn't know why they had sent a bill as TruGreen had not done anything. The credit bureau sent a collection letter and I contacted them and sent a fax to the Paducah TruGreen office asking to see a signed contract and have the employee who claimed to have sprayed our yard to contact me. I asked for the date of service. To this date 2/21/2017 no one from the Paducah Trugreen office has contacted me.

Today in the mail I have received another statement showing we owe $154.00. What kind of franchise have gotten that can't prove their services. Our lawn has never had any TruGreen flags that would say it had been sprayed. I'm thinking of taking the Paducah TruGreen office to court to sue for this mistake and get relief for their turning over this alleged charge for services never provided. Their actions could affect our credit rating. We pay legitimate bills for services rendered.

Paducah TruGreen by choosing not to provide proof of service and continuing to ask for payment is causing us anxiety and worry for this attack on our credit rating. This has hurt our reputation and could cause us to pay higher interest. It is fair to ask for proof of service. I have a hard time trusting TruGreen because of your Paducah office. Of course you must understand that I could never recommend your Paducah office as they won't provide proof of service and have their employee who claimed to have sprayed our yard come by and personally contact us.

This review is for the TruGreen based in Albany, NY. When I first signed up with TruGreen it was spring 2015. I was going to sell my home and wanted the lawn to look good. I paid upfront for the full season. TruGreen serviced my lawn about a month later and not too long after that I received a bill. The bill said I owed them money. I had the TruGreen agent's cell phone so I immediately gave him a call. He was very apologetic and got the charges cleared.

Sometime in the summer I received a called from the Albany branch trying to peddle Japanese Beetle protection. I already put down my own pesticides so I politely declined the offer. The agent on the phone responded "Don't you care about your lawn?" Naturally, I said "Well, yeah" and the agent started scheduling pesticide treatments for my lawn. I had to tell her to stop and the Albany office worker became very rude like I was causing her trouble by not willingly accepting expensive treatments. After hanging up I called my agent to ensure I was not going to receive Japanese Beetle treatments. I also warned him that this was twice I felt like TruGreen was trying to screw me out of money.

Fall comes along and my lawn care treatments are completed. I do not think my lawn improved much, if at all, due to TruGreen's efforts. I compared pictures from previous years and anyone would be hard-pressed to pick out the year TruGreen treated my lawn. Also in the Fall I sold my house. In November, TruGreen calls up hoping to schedule winter services. I told them that I had to decline because I sold my home and no longer had a lawn to treat. The TruGreen caller said she would make a note of that on my record.

Throughout the winter I got letters forwarded to my new address asking me to sign up for TruGreen services. I trashed them all, for obvious reasons. Spring of 2016 I received a bill from TruGreen for my old property. Without any authorization on my part they had treated a lawn that was no longer mine and billed me for it. Once again I had to call and get the charges cleared. Once I told my story they were pretty quick to get the bill cleared, I will give them that. I told the customer service representative that I never wanted to hear from TruGreen again. No service will ever be authorized in my name for any property.

TruGreen called me today, Feb 20th 2017, hoping to treat the lawn I have not owned since fall of 2015. I stopped giving TruGreen the benefit of the doubt. I think it's a shady operation that does everything it can to steal homeowner's money. If you read this far I strongly recommend avoiding this company. They are just like ticks, draining you dry and difficult to get rid of.

Last year I started TruGreen services with the anticipation of hiring professionals to manage my yard care. Things started out alright as the first applications handled some of the issues (dandelions), but throughout the process one issue became worse as the year went on. I thought it was 'creeping charlie' and was not told otherwise by any of the TruGreen 'specialists' (the service letters after a visit did not mention any issue either). I travel for work and was not able to consistently check the quality of the weeds after each application, but did make a few additional services requests as the problem never seemed to get resolved.

Finally, I called in and informed them whatever they are doing was not working and that I would like to talk with a manager. It was about 3-4 weeks before a manager contacted me (I had to call back in and request again). This manager was able to get to my house quickly and immediately informed the issue was 'wild violets' and that it can be a difficult item to control and will require more applications to get it in control. Status of yard at the end of the services: Front Yard - Better, not great Back Yard - Wild Violet spread and the yard looks worse than before TruGreen as the violet seems to kill off the grass as it spreads.

I called in to express my disappointment with the services as I had not been informed of this issue and no information or solution had been provided. I do not understand how this growing problem was missed through my 8 applications if I had 'specialists' coming to do them. I informed them I would not have had an issue if the 'wild violets' had been addressed by ANY of their 'specialists' (again not a single service letter acknowledged the problem). To reconcile the issue I was offered 2 free applications. I explained how half of my yard has somewhat improved and the other half has gotten worse which means, at a maximum, I got half of what I paid for and should be compensated for the missing half. I was told the chemicals are costly and that 2 was the best they could do. I accepted this as it was the best they said they could offer and informed them I will probably be taking my business elsewhere.

The story above is at the end of last year. Just recently I received a call asking about prepaying for this upcoming year. I had not gotten any information of what was determined for the 2 free applications discussed (the representative on the call did not know either). After some research they told me one of the applications at the end of the year had been refunded. I checked my account and show no such credit nor was there on my bank account for the day they said it occurred. I have now requested the 2 applications discussed as a refund and to cancel my account.

To recap: No TruGreen 'specialist' who came for the applications was able to diagnose the issue. Poor communication to get me in contact with a manager. Once the issue had been diagnosed was informed I would need additional applications after paying for a full year of unsuccessful applications. Was told they could only provide up to 2 services refunded for the issue, even though there could have been a different plan put in place if it had been diagnosed earlier. Back yard looks worse than before TruGreen. The wild violet has spread and has encroached on areas that had nice grass. Apparently had a refund that I was given no notice or record of. I paid for professionals, I did not get what I paid for. Please see attached images for how my yard looked at the end of my TruGreen Services.

Signed up for TruGreen after someone knocked on my door. Paid about $350 for 1 year of service. After 1 year of service I was not sold on the program simply because my yard looked the same as when I didn't have their service. I attempted to cancel but was told I owed 2 additional months even though they had not serviced my yard since the last month on the contract. I argued for weeks and finally agreed to pay for one more year of service and they would remove the old balance (which I really paid because I signed up for another year.)

It's now been 2 years and the yard looks the same. They call me every month and try to upsell me something and it's very annoying, so today I canceled and was told I owe for 1 month and for 1 tree service. At this point, I just paid for it and canceled. Not worth arguing over. But for the recorded THEY DIDN'T SERVICE MY YARD for the additional month and I NEVER AUTHORIZED ANY TREE SERVICE. I would choose another provider if I were you!!! I am going to try Massey Services this year. My neighbors use them and their yard looks a lot nicer!!

I moved out of the property that they were providing service. I did not inform them that I was moving out. But they continued service which they should *not* have without me authorising it and without me paying upfront. They ended up reporting past due to a collection agency which was uncalled for. Why would they provide a service without me authorising and paying upfront? Who's to say what kind of so-called services they provided? I recall calling them before the season every time and paying upfront. I don't know what happened this time and how I could be past due for unauthorised service.

The receptionist I spoke to about this on February 8th, 2017 was very unhelpful, rude, and provided no explanation why a service was provided without my authorisation/upfront payment but only kept repeating that I should have cancelled before I left the property. Good morning Raj Jayabalan, I apologize if there was any confusion in regards to your services, I know that can be concerning. When you became a customer of TruGreen it was stated in your service agreement that all services are continuous. In the continuous service clause it states that we will service your property unless you call and inform TruGreen that you no longer want services. Also, this clause means that each year we will service your property and you do not have to give verbal consent for us to continue to service your property. In addition, paying upfront is not required; it is a chance for customers to save money on their services for the upcoming season.- Ashley

Several months later and after 3 treatments, my lawn still looks the same as it did when I first agreed to the service. What took so long? I also was billed for more frequent lawn services than I was originally told was required. Others when I was never notified via phone that they were coming. No ticket was ever left on the door, and I was nevertheless billed. They were also requested to not come before 8 am, and have arrived at 7 while I'm on conference calls working from home. We have received a bill from TruGreen which isn't a service we agreed to have. It shows two charges listed as 8/27/16, 9/27/16 $72.62 for each month, total of $145.24. We had contacted TruGreen in the early spring of 2016, inquiring about service for our home's yard. We explained to the person who answered what we were wanting; service on a monthly as needed basis. That our home was up for sale and we didn't want to be obligated to a contract for the whole season, in case if it sold. We were assured that wouldn't be a problem, that someone would call us, and we could call back if we didn't want them to come.

My husband was home one afternoon and a truck pulled up with a technician. He began to spray our yard. My husband went out and told him to stop, that we didn't want them to spray the yard, to let whoever in their office know this. I called the next day and explained again that we would confirm if we wanted them to spray, that we had the house for sale and now had an offer on it. The person I spoke to said, ok. We did sell the house and thought it was fine, until we then received a bill for the service. My husband called and spoke with the same woman I did or another woman in this office. She argued with him about the bill, saying that because we'd had them come, we had implied that we wanted service and we're obligated to pay them. He kept explaining what we'd agreed for initially. He then told her we'd pay half of the initial amount to just be done with the whole problem.

Now we've received a bill for that amount and then next month--after we had already moved (house was sold). We have called the phone number on the bill we've gotten with our forwarded mail, to try to figure out what is going on, with no luck. It goes to an automated recording, telling you to wait, that all operators are busy, then you wait for awhile and it hangs up on you. We are going to have no recourse, but to contact our lawyer. We feel we were lied to, that we are being pressured into paying a bill which services were not agreed. TruGreen should not treat customers this way and have such poor managers, business practices. If I were a prospective customer? I would run the other way as quickly as possible!

Hello Hua, my name is Karissa and I am the social media coordinator for the corporate office. We are truly sorry to see that you are concerned that you had issues with billing that were in essence left unresolved, we can understand why that is concerning for you. In reviewing your account I noticed a few things on your program 7RND+GRUB+AER/OVRSEED:

    1) Your Lawn Services were $600.6 before the 10% pp dsc (-60.06)=$540.54. Your account shows as having made a lump sum payment of $490.15. In order to have the prepay discount, the full amount must be paid. Therefore in your case, your applications remained $29.95 for the first application, $55.95 for the remaining 7, and $179 for the aeration.

    2) 6 of your 8 lawn applications were completed (That's 1 for $29.95+ 5 ($55.95)=$309.7

    3)Aeration was completed 9/24= $179.00

    4) When you combine the sum of, 3) and 4) above... it is a total of $488.70. You paid a lump sum in August of $490.15.

    5) Fertilizer/Weed control applications are completed every 4-6 weeks.

    6) Expanded services such as the grub and the aeration can be completed the same day as a fertilizer, as listed on you welcome aboard letter, since the two do not counteract. If they're not done on the same day, the two can still be completed within the 4-6 week intervals of the fertilizers.

We had high hopes based on the initial sales people ensuring that they would achieve better than sod results for less money. The company's first mistake was applying crabgrass preventer too late. By early summer, we had a patchy lawn of healthy, green crabgrass with several bare spots that turned to mud when we watered in the fertilizer treatments. The company doesn't apply any seed until fall, so our lawn looked bad all season despite our regular watering to combat the drought and encourage any already existent grass to flourish. When it was time to aerate and seed, the tech skipped seeding about one third of our lawn, and we experienced a low germination rate from the rest of the seed even though we followed care instructions.

After all this, we received a notice of renewal of our service plan. When I called to cancel that, the phone rep talked me into signing up to have a manager call me. The manager was supposed to make an appt with me to come out and see what could be done to remedy our lawn. Today, weeks after my call to customer service, I had heard nothing from any manager or any other rep of the company, but a tech pulled up and sprinkled on more fertilizer. He left a note that said he'd knocked although he didn't. I contacted the company again via their online contact form about the situation and received only a voice mail confirming my account was now cancelled. So much for satisfaction guarantee. I wish we had just chosen sod in the first place.

I purchased TruGreen services for my husband's Father's Day gift. The first time they were supposed to come out, they didn't. I called customer service, and they had someone come out a couple days later, a tech who explained that the previous tech was known for saying he completed jobs that he didn't. A couple months into our contract, my husband was out of work from an injury so I called to cancel our service. Customer service graciously offered to waive our treatment fees for the last two treatments of the year, which was definitely above & beyond my expectations... However, they did not come out for the last treatment of the season after saying they would. Not sure if I'll be renewing our contract next year.

While I believe TruGreen is overall a good company, my limited experience has given me mixed feelings. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they didn't show up for 2 of 5 treatments this year. While customer service went above & beyond my expectations, the actual treatment itself was mediocre. The weeds in the front yard ARE mostly gone, but I think I'd prefer to pay a service that I can rely on to show up.

After dozens of calls they agreed to refund my last two applications of the season. They continued to place chemical treatment on our lawn and failed to detect major fungus growth that ruined our lawn. Other neighbors next us (either using competitor services or in some cases no service at all) had beautiful lawns with the exception of ours. After I called to complain (which was a protracted event to have someone call back) they continued to treat the lawn with their program chemicals when the problem of "brown patch" disease was decimating our lawn. Ultimately we had to secure the services of another local lawn company to re-seed the lawn at our expense. TruGreen billing department is detached and has no consideration for the consumer. Service response was lousy and ineffective. We are done and moving onto a local service who cares about customer relationship and results.

From the the very first contact, I felt uneasy. The person wanted my credit card almost immediately and I explained I prefer to talk to someone in person at my property. I wanted to be able to point out issues with my lawn and discuss them with someone knowledgeable. They did send someone but this guy didn't seem all that knowledgeable but did walk the property with me. We discussed what was needed and I agreed to start the service. He told me there would be 5 visits to my property and told me the cost and wanted my credit card. I complied and watched him write down my cc number and expiration date. I guess they are not very technologically advanced. I asked him about this and all he could offer was; I will get a receipt later. Needless to say, I was feeling a bit uneasy but he already had my cc info so I let it go.

From the very beginning I started getting phone calls trying to sell me additional services. Some of the people calling were borderline rude. One wanted to sell me some insect control because he found spider mites in the trees. He was very pushy but eventually I got him to agree to meet me on my property to show me the evidence before I would shell out any more money. I should have known but I gave him the benefit of doubt. He never showed up. This is bad enough but to make it worse, I actually had to take time off work to meet him. Again, not too happy about this. When I talked to TruGreen, all they could say was "sorry". Even though I found out later I did not have to pay for all the treatment up front, I continued to the end of the year.

Now that the season is over and all treatments have been applied, I canceled the service. This is another disappointing conversation. When I called and asked to cancel my service the person on the phone insisted on asking why I was canceling. I was in a hurry and didn't want to explain all this at that time. The person ended up hanging up on me so I called back. I got a different person but she was able to confirm there was a cancellation order for my account. I ask for a confirmation number and was told they don't have them but I could have her employee number instead. I took down the number and hoping for the best. During one of the calls I ask them to take me off their email list and they supposedly complied. As of now I'm still getting emails so my best guess is they are instructed to agree to remove email addresses but really have no way to do it. Overall I was quite disappointed in the services and would never ask them back.

Today I canceled the TruGreen service that I have had for two years. I always had a bit of trouble scheduling the service (didn't want chemicals going down while the lawn cutters were there, or during periods of intense drought), but this was the last straw. I asked for the latest possible final treatment of the year, as I needed to clear the lawn of leaves. I was scheduled for Dec. 5. On Nov. 21 the automated "Trudy" told me the serviceman would be there Nov. 23. I called Customer Service to remind them that I was expecting service on Dec. 5. On Nov. 30, a serviceman appeared (in a pouring rain) to do the last treatment. I canceled it and told him that I wanted my service canceled entirely. On Dec. 2, a serviceman came while I was at work and did the service anyway.

This summer, a TruGreen agent toured my yard (again while I was at work, and without my permission) and left me a note outlining all the insect pests I had (including psyllids on some boxwood shrubs that had been installed just two weeks earlier), and offering the company's services to eradicate them. To me, that's not an upsell. That's trespassing. And lying, since I had the landscaper back to inspect the boxwood shrubs and he found no evidence of psyllids. I might excuse more of this if my lawn looked appreciably better, but it doesn't.

When I mentioned lawsuit, the manager offered to come to my home and spray additional chemicals. They did not offer to neutralize or clean the chemical contamination or compensate me for doing so. When I mentioned suing for damages, he said they have many lawyers ready. Bottom line: these folks have no respect for property rights or threatening the health of their victims. TruGreen serviced my lawn for 6 months. I maintained their recommend watering and lawn mowing schedule and wondered why my lawn progressively worsened as others in the neighborhood improved. It even became embarrassing to see their service tag on my lawn because it let my neighbors know I was paying to have my yard look like crap.

I complained several times about some of their treatment as I noticed some of lawn never improved, and then I decided to stay home to secretly observe a scheduled treatment. They did not "knock" as they claim each treatment, they only fertilized 2/3 of my lawn and excluded the problem areas, and at the blink of an eye the tech was left. I immediately complained and a tech returned a week later.

I experienced poor communication which delayed my aeration and seeding by 3 weeks. When they finally aerated the yard, again only 2/3 was treated. I couldn't trust them to do the work they were paid to do, so I use a different service now. As I shared my experience with my neighbors, several said they had similar experiences with TruGreen. When I canceled my service, I provided details on why I was canceling and of course there was no follow-up. My suggestion to you is to do your research before choosing TruGreen, inspect everything they do and don't expect flexibility on their lawn applications. As for me, I don't trust them.

Therefore, you wanted the services placed on hold until the first application of spring.

After fighting weeds for the first two years of my new lawn, I decided to let professionals do it and called TruGreen. A sales rep came out and looked at my lawn and told me that they would do a soil analysis and treat it accordingly. I signed and paid up front. The soil analysis was never done and was told that most of the lawns in my area had much of the same problems and were treated the same way. OK, I bought into it. I was home for some of the treatments and watched what they were doing. It's when you aren't at home or they think you aren't, is where I have the issues. I have suspected that the job was lacking after I found a door hanger saying that pot ash was spread in granular form but no signs of it on one treatment. Weed control was put down while it was raining and didn't stop for 2 days and other questionable service.

This morning my doorbell rang, so I got off of the couch and looked out the window to see the tech. walking back to his truck. By the time I walked 30 feet to a bedroom to put on a pair of short and opened the door, the tech was already reeling up his hose. I asked how he could spray potash, simazine, MCPA, Dicamba and Vanquish (as noted on my receipt) on 2000 square feet in less time that it takes to slip on a pair of short and get to the door. He said it was their sprayer that could spray as fast as he could walk. I called B.S. and called the toll free number and the person on the phone tried to defend him. The tech also noted that he had 30 treatments to do today, you do the math. I'll use a local lawn care company next year even if I have to pay more as I suspect that TruGreen works on volume of business rather than quality of service.

I hired TruGreen through the National Call Center but unknown to me, this is a franchise and my service was pushed to a contractor that has extremely poor ratings (14 Reviews 2 or lower). I hired TruGreen in January 2016, had a plan and service identified. They came treat my trees and shrubs as they felt was needed and I paid what they billed me. They were out on 9/9/16 and nothing was noted as an issue but on 9/22/16, I received a call from my landscaper telling me my shrubs had Ficus White Fly. I called TruGreen that day and they said someone would be out the next day. They did not come out until 10/5/16, per their records to treat for insects and fungus.

I received no call further about the issue. I was here on 11/8/16 when they came again and they did not speak to me about the issue at all or tell me about the fungus on my palm tree. They were in and out so fast, I did even see them. On 11/11/16, my landscaper let me know one of the palm trees had fungus on it and it would need to be removed. All of the shrubs which now had very few leaves, it would take 3 years to get them back. I called TruGreen on 11/11/16 and was promised that the manager would call me back, I called on 11/14/16, and they said give them till Tuesday (11/15). Tuesday came and went and nothing. I called on Wednesday and they "said someone tried to call you yesterday and you didn't answer."

I said, "I am looking at my cellphone and no one called me other than my sister 2x's and my daughter." They promised someone else would call me that day. They didn't. I called the national headquarters and said, I'm not getting anywhere with the local. They resent me down to the local branch twice more. Then on 11/17 after calling again to both the local and the national headquarter, the national service agent gave me another national number and said to call. I said "who am I asking for?" They said "I don't know who to tell you to talk to?" So don't you have a national review program to understand when a local contractor is performing poorly? Why would you have them service me when they have such poor 14 reviews I can see all 2/5 stars - all with the same issue!!!

The company did some lawn treatment at our house at ** in early 2000 and were pretty good then and hopefully they will prove even better when I sign up with them again in 2017.

If I could give them a minus five stars, I would. For the past 10 years I have been doing the lawn care myself. This year I hired TruGreen. At the end of the year, my lawn was terrible shape. It is in the worst condition that I have ever seen. Four calls to TruGreen to request someone to come and inspect went unanswered. No one returned my calls. No one came to inspect my lawn. My conclusion is that TruGreen makes many claims and promises, however they keep very few. I could go on and on how TruGreen failed, but I will just say do your own homework. Read the negative reviews on this site and other sites, then decided if TruGreen is a good company for you. I failed to do my homework and feel that I flushed my money down the drain.

Updated on 2/27/2017: In my Nov 7 review, I mentioned TruGreen did my lawn for 2016. At the end of the year my lawn was in terrible condition. I called and canceled the service. Since I terminated the service, I assumed I would never hear or have to deal with TruGreen again. I was wrong. This Spring TruGreen called me 4 times asking if they can come out and do my lawn again for 2017.

The last phone conversation is interesting because it gives some insight into TruGreen. TruGreen - "Mr ** we would like to come out and do your lawn this year." Me - "Last year you left me with a lawn in terrible condition, why should I have you back?" TruGreen - "We had a lot of bad people working for us last year. We have cleared them out and they are no longer here. Me - "OK, assuming employees are gone, have you changed the formulations of your sprays?" TruGreen - "The applications are the same." Me - "If the applications gave me a terrible lawn last year, why would there be different this year?" TruGreen never answered just a hangup.

I do not believe that TruGreen had a lot of bad people working for them. Last year they told me that Victor (tech who sprayed my yard) was one of the best employees in their system. This year he is the reason for the poor condition of my yard. If you dig back in this site, you will find stories of people who canceled and got talked back into service a second year with TruGreen. The service was just as bad the second year.

Once again, I will tell you to make up your own mind. Read the negative reviews on this site and then decide if TruGreen would be a good lawn care provider for you. I found their lawn care and customer service to both be very poor. I know TruGreen reads this site and I would to request TruGreen place my phone number on their "do not call" list.

I alerted Trugreen about the brown patches in my lawn in June. The response was it needed time for the fertilizer to take effect. Then in July, I asked the tech to call me, he said the brown patches were from lack of water. So I watered it a lot. I thought both these guys were clueless but I figured that's what they do so maybe they were correct. After about 40% of my lawn looked dead, I had a supervisor come out and he said it was a fungus and he would get it treated and the technicians would learn from this what brown patch was. Of course I did get a $300 water bill from the city. After a month, it still looked horrible.

I had another appointment for fungus treatment, which was postponed for a week. When they came out the following week, they put in a sign that they came out but did not do any treatment. SO my lawn was ruined. After numerous phone calls to the supervisor's cell, the corporate office in Memphis and the local office, I never received a return call. I called AMEX to reverse all the charges. I am in collection now. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I called customer service last week to set up an appointment for early morning visit to go over brown spots in my lawn and property line issues. TruGreen guaranteed the accuracy Tech would be out before I went to work. I called customer service and spoke with a supervisor at 1035 AM because the tech was a no show and she said she would call me back. After 2 hours I called them back only to get an excuse of how their routes worked and I should have never been given a guarantee that they would be here early. When I got home the note on the door said the brown spots were from a different type of grass and I should try seeding to crowd out the weeds.

TruGreen isn't that what I hired you to do? I didn't hire you to monitor my grass and report back at the end of the year. I hired you to treat my lawn, get rid of weeds & get rid of the fleas in the yard. Last year - according to your own tech - you were spraying the wrong treatment to get rid of fleas. That was supposedly corrected, but here we are again this year with the same problem. Unacceptable customer service. The tech showed up at 2:45 & left at 2:48 (per the ticket left). What kind of service can be provided in that amount of time?! Terrible!!

My wife decided to hire Tru-Green as a gift to me; hoping to give me a break from having to keep up with all of the various applications throughout the season and in hopes that any problem areas we might have had could be corrected. When we first signed up my wife had requested that the technician servicing our property make it a point to knock on the door so she could meet him and go over our concerns; that never happened. Then we noticed the technician had applied treatments on a day where it rained; a wasted treatment. My wife called to find out what was going to be done about it and was told she had to wait 10 days after the treatment and then call back. Why? Don't you realize your treatment just got washed away and you should make it a point to return?

On one call that my wife made she discovered that the technician had applied one treatment that was supposed to be watered in and another that was not, at the same time. Are you kidding me? There are areas of the lawn that are burned to the point that the area will never recover without removal of the dead grass and re-seeding or sod. Lastly, we were scheduled to have the lawn aerated and overseeded. First appointment had to be canceled due to weather but we were never informed of the new date until we called to inquire. Technician didn't show up for the second appointment; again not call explaining why or informing us of the new date. The latest aeration date was this past Monday 10/17. Technician had not arrived by 4:45pm so my wife called to check on his whereabouts and was informed that we were still on his schedule and he would be there that day. Guess what? He never showed.

When he didn't show the following day my wife called again to complain; a message was left on our machine from Tom stating he had received a message to call her but he was unaware of the service she was inquiring about and that she should call him back. Using the directory on the phone I tried returning Tom's call but the number was Tru-Green's recruiting number... You can leave a message on that number but when you call their number for service issues you cannot. So I called the recruiting number again and left an angry message hoping it would cause someone to call me back the next day.

The following day I hadn't heard from anyone so I called their customer service number during my lunch break. Spoke to a woman who informed me that my new aeration day was 10/29; 12 days after the missed visit. I was not happy about that and told her I wanted to speak to someone. She took my information and assured me that she'd escalate the situation to the area manager and that he'd be contacting me within 24 hrs.

Well 24 hrs pass and no call so I call the customer service line once more. This time I am connected with Tom from the local branch who informed me that he had just spoken to my wife and the aeration has now been scheduled for Monday or Tuesday (10/24 or 10/25). Still not thrilled about the new date and even less thrilled that someone called my home when I distinctly requested that someone contact me on my cell phone because I wanted to speak to someone. I informed Tom that while I appreciate that the aeration has been moved up from the 29th, I would still like to speak to the area manager. Tom took my information once more and told me he would pass it along. I have yet to hear from anyone. The service I have received from this company is horrendous and I would never recommend them to anyone.

I had signed up for lawn service with Scotts in January 2016 since I wanted weed control of my yard. Since I want to minimize trouble of making sure I paid bills every month, I paid $384.75 for the whole year. They did a good job of weed control, but every time they would leave an invoice to pay a certain amount at my door. First three times when I got the invoice, I called them up to ask why am I getting invoices even though I prepaid for whole year. They would check the records and tell me I am good and I can ignore the invoice. My requests to them to stop leaving invoice at my door since it confuses me and cause me additional follow up work, went unheeded. So I told them the third time that I am going to ignore their invoices till end of the year, until I have to renew their services again.

Mid 2016 Scotts was bought over by Trugreen. Later half of 2016 I started getting past due notice and late fees in my invoices. So I called them and explained that I have paid till December 2016. I continued to get past due invoices and phone calls from them and I continued to repeat my explanation each time. Recently they explained to me that my prepay was for lawn services, but my current outstanding amount is for trees and shrubs, and fungicide treatment that they did on my lawn. I had never signed up for it, but my account it seems was showing I have signed up for it. I am very frustrated but I am still trying to explain that I haven't asked for any additional service since the prepay.

We started out agreeing to an area to be serviced over the phone using Google Maps, they pulled up on my address. After the first few treatments and $1,200 later it became apparent that they were not treating the area we agreed to. Slowly the weeds took over during the summer and then the sod webworms took over and killed a large part of my lawn. Now we are going to have to kill part of our lawn due to the sedges weed that started shortly after their servicing of our yards. Yes I called them to complain but the manager would stop by, look at the yard, when I was not home, and leave me a message denying the existence of webworm moths or a weed problem. He also promised to send an expert to check out the trees and why they started to die after they treated them. The expert visit never happened. Our lawn is full of weeds and crabgrass, our trees are dying and despite repeated calls, they don't care to call back... I have sent an email which the office manager acknowledged and said that she gave it to the service manager who will call us... the same one who inspected the lawn. One week later, tried to call again and were promised he will call but no calls...

I contacted TruGreen accounting department twice in hope that they can help... On both occasions, they indicated that they will send the complaint to higher-ups and will be in touch... days go by and no calls... Today, I spoke with accounting again and was told that she has a note that the office tried to call 3 times but couldn't leave a message... we inspected our phone and they never called nor tried to leave a message (everyone else can leave messages)! This company should be ashamed of lying and cheating customers! They don't treat lawns but they want to be paid for no work!!! How can they get away with such crimes???

Prior to TruGreen taking over Scotts lawn service, Scotts treated our lawn for close to 10 years. Prior to this year, we didn't inspect the lawn very close so, we don't know if this has been ongoing for the last years or started this year. We have lots of photos that we just took off the lawn and the trees. We will give TruGreen a last opportunity before posting all the photos and names of managers involved in the scam!

I signed up for this service to perfect our already good lawn. The sales representative was very knowledgeable about lawns, unfortunately not knowledgeable about how they do business. I explained that I had had previous bad experiences with other companies doing the same thing and that if they were unable to work the way I needed then it would not be a good fit. I was assured that someone would call me to arrange a time for the aeration and in turn for the treatments. The reason this was important is that the aeration is yearly and needed to be done after the grass was cut to get the full benefit. I was very disappointed to receive a recorded phone call telling me when it would be, which was the same day the lawn guy comes round. I tried to call up, and to add insult to injury, I had to hang up at 12 minutes waiting, as I have a job.

I managed to get back through to the sales departments and demanded to speak to a manager, and after being fobbed off by his associate, I did feel I was getting somewhere. He reassured me that he'd call the branch, cancel the aeration and have them call me to discuss suitable times. He called me back to confirm this. Next morning, no call from the branch, yet the technicians turned up to aerate, and add chemicals to the lawn. This was a complete waste as it was being moved later on. This time I completed a contact form on their website threatening to leave. 24 hours later someone called me. I explained the situation again and was once again assured that remedial action would be taken and that someone from the branch would call me. No call.

The icing on the cake is the letter I've received today tell me that I am on Pay as you go, and that I'll be charged after each service. I have paid a year upfront, nearly $1000. I called up again and after an 8 minute wait, I cancelled my account. I'll only be refunded part of it as this rip-off company will keep the discount I got for prepaying, and for the useless chemicals. The rep on the phone offered me 25% off my remaining services to which I replied, "I don't believe you will ever return calls when you're supposed to which means it would be no use to me completely free." From my 1 week experience of this company, and the time I've spent on the phone trying to get them to do what they said they would, I would most strongly advise against signing up with them. They are faceless at the local level and unaccountable.

Please discontinue my service and reimburse us for the remainder of visits we already paid for. Today I observed the technician arrive at my property at 8:32 A.M. and departed at 8:38 - a total of 6 minutes with 1 of those minutes spent knocking on my front door. He went to his truck, extended the hose to the backyard, looked over the fence and returned to his truck.

He retraced the hose and didn't even look at my front or sides of my yard AND LEFT! This made me furious so I went back and reviewed security tapes for past treatments. The technician did not treat my backyard or sides on 07/25 or 06/22 and sparingly sprayed any fertilizer/weed control on my front yard of my lawn both of those visits. He last treated my backyard on 05/11/2016 - the first visit. This probably explains why my yard is no different than when I was treating it myself.

Is this how you do business? If the homeowner is not looking you cut corners? I have the video to prove my dissatisfaction not only from today's service but from services rendered in the past. We are trying to get the service manager on the site who never did show up. The last technician finally agree to meet us since we insisted to meet them so we can show the problem. The technician had agreed that they did not do the job from the day one: No weeds control done and that is why all kinds of the weeds grow perfectly in my lawn.

Now my whole lawn is destroyed with half dead of grasses killed by the chemicals and another half is full of the different kinds of weeds. I have taken many pictures today (Aug. 28, 2016) but could not attached here because of the size of the pictures. If there is any way to post them, I will do that. Those pictures are stored in a safe place since I will needed as evidences.
