    I requested that TruGreen avoid spraying product near my dug well in the backyard. After 2 years of calling they finally got it right. Then, since more than half of the lawn was in this area, I asked for an adjusted price for treatment of the remaining half of the lawn. I paid that price for one year until my last billing. They are again charging me the full price for half of the work. I have called and asked for the manager and he is never in. He left me a voice mail saying it did not make any difference in the cost since half the lawn should cost as much as all of the lawn for treatment. My service is out of the Rocky Hill, CT office. They are terrible. Very disorganized, do not follow directions, different people performing the services each time, unresponsive to customer inquiries and now guilty of trying to rip me off with charges I never agreed to. I would not suggest using this service to anyone. It is not worth the hassle.

    I am very pleased with the lawn care provided by Titus from TruGreen Lawn Care. His professionalism, work ethic, character, and knowledge of lawns is excellent. When I first moved to the area in 2007, I knew my lawn was in trouble. Weeds were choking the grass; grubs were producing a checkerboard of brown spots, and skunks were on a nightly vigil of digging holes in the lawn to enjoy the grubs.     I hire TruGreen to kill my weeds I was having problems with, my front yard had weeds, and my back yard was beautiful, I have a lot of shade in back yard. I spoke to salesman Steve, and he promised that they would take care of it, "I said, don't touch the backyard," he said not to worry. With the same price they would do back and front. They would analyze it. The had two procedures and my back yard was dead after. I had a beautiful grass, I complain, and took them two weeks to come and check my yard. Mark the supervisor came and agreed that they had made a mistake, he said keep with the program and maybe by late August it might come back, they didn't even said we will take care of it or anything. I had to hire a company to re-seed my back ruin yard, I canceled TruGreen, and will tell anybody that ask me about my experience, they wouldn't do nothing to help me with my ruin yard.

    My most recent lawn service was substantially more effective/satisfactory than the previous two visits. I was told that weather had been hard on lawns and that is why I was not seeing the great results that I'd become accustomed to over the years. I have trouble with dandelions, especially along the lawn's perimeter and I have resorted to digging them up myself. I also had large patches of clover. After I took your survey, I was contacted by a very nice/concerned lady who set me up with a free revisit. The specialist who came talked to me, he walked with me around the yard, listened to my concerns, and answered all my questions. He worked on my lawn for a half hour instead of the usual less than 10 minutes. The clover patches are already gone and I'm looking forward to the demise of the dandelions. I sincerely hope that the excellent service I recently received will continue.

    Was looking into our lawn being sprayed for our new house we are moving into soon and this company NEVER STOPS CALLING!!! I even found out that a rep went out to our new house and did a survey of the property that we never asked them for nor wanted. It's like a telemarketing nightmare. All hours of the night and day because their call center is national and all different numbers because it's nationwide so you can't block them. I asked several times to be removed but it takes several weeks for my number to actually hit the do not call list so they say. Do not call no matter what- you will not be left alone after if they get your info and they may show up to your house unannounced and uninvited. If we get a bill for "services" performance that we never asked for I will be calling BBB.

    My experience with TruGreen is both good with a bit of mediocre service. I was used to the excellent service received with Scotts Lawn Service and a particular technician who treated my lawn like it was his own. The current technicians started off with very little interaction, but recently have improved in working with me regarding my lawn. I will not make a final determination regarding service until this season has completed. There has been almost a complete disappearance of dandelions and so far, no crabgrass, but there are new weeds that had been eradicated that are popping up again. Hopefully, after talking with the technician the last time, they will improve.

    I signed up with Trugreen in February. March, April and May they came out to fertilize and spray for weeds. Each time we had torrential downpours. I called back numerous times. Customer service does not write notes in the computer when they say they do. Trugreen states they will keep coming out for no charge until weeds are dead. They don't. I got charged. I have a yellow spot in my yard. Trugreen could not tell me what kind of grass it is or why it may be yellow. Horrible company to deal with. They're always right. I had to spray my own weeds to kill them. I dealt with a lady today that more like called me a liar. If you look at my yard you would think twice.

    My lawn is not great looking this year, but must say it looks somewhat better than my neighbors' that do not use a lawn service. I cannot speak of the timeliness of the specialist because I never know when he is coming and the only way I know he has been is the door hanger. I use to get an e-mail or phone call the day before informing me he would be here but that stopped a couple of years ago. I would really like to know in advance when he is coming. The time I actually met my specialist he was friendly and seemed to be professional. I am not totally pleased with my lawn this year but as I said, looks better than some of my neighbors.

    Don't wait to save your trees and shrubs. The tree and landscape treatment I started last year I believe actually saved them all and kept them from dying.     In less than a year I have used this service to try and make my yard more healthy looking. Since that time I have had to re-seed to get the grass to grow back. The weeds are just as bad if not worse than when they started treatment. I have paid close to $120.00 a month since they started, and I have had to spend more money trying to get my grass to grow back. I was actually invoiced for treatments that never occurred and I asked to have them not send anyone unless I was at home. Within two weeks they scheduled two treatments. Total disregard of customer requests. I will never use this company again, as this is the second time I have used TruGreen in two different locations. They ripped me off both times. I am done!

    We hired TruGreen to fertilize our lawn. The one time they did bother to show up, the service was fine. The weeds died out. But I dislike having to beg for service or threaten to get even the most basic of service level - show up. Here we are again, begging them to come out and do the next treatment to no avail. When we finally asked to speak to a manager, they someone would call within 3 days. I don't consider that to be an adequate timeline to a customer service concern that could be easily resolved by simply putting us on their schedule in the first place. Is it really that hard? (I gave two stars instead of one solely because when they did show up, their treatment was effective, but from a service aspect, they'd get zero stars.) Disappointed.

    I inquired about a possible lawn services for my dad for Father's Day. I was told they needed my information to give me a estimate of pricing. Joshua, who helped me in the phone, then told me I would be contacted within fifteen minutes to get a quote and talk about my lawn care options. Never got a call.     I like the fact that TruGreen has an automatic start and stop to the annual service. I don't have to try to remember to begin my service in the Spring. The service person always comes to the door to announce that they are there to complete the service. I like the door tag giving me details of the services performed and the evaluation of my lawn. The e-mail follow-up is also valuable.     Initially, I was very happy with the customer service that was provided by the TruGreen rep. She told me that I would be charged $29.99 for my first service. I confirmed with her that my first service would not be more than that. My first bill was for $77.00 because the person sprayed grub control, which I did NOT agree to! My husband left a message for the technician & didn't get a callback until over a week later. I cancelled my service & would not recommend to anyone. They make excuses as to why they provide bad customer service & are unwilling to help. It's evident that they do not care about their customers.

    I was having a party at my home so ten days before I signed up with TruGreen for a mosquito treatment plan. I told them I needed the first treatment before the party, they said no problem. Three days before the party TruGreen still had not applied the treatment so I called. They said they would be there the day before the party. Well they didn't show up again. I received a voice message from TruGreen that they would be there the day after the party. That doesn't help me for my party but still a no show. Three strikes you are out TruGreen. I canceled my plan.

    I spoke with a salesman who made a bunch of promises on how GREAT service TruGreen had. He even promised me that if I had any problems, I could contact him by his telephone number. He also promised me that if they damaged the grass, they would replace it. I explained to him that I had service with Scotts who damaged my grass and caused it to die. He told me they bought Scotts out and terminated all of the employees. I contacted his on numerous occasion with the telephone number he gave me and he NEVER returned my call.

    I had service from 2/2017-6/2017. In 4 months, they fertilized my grass at least once each month! As a result of over fertilizing my grass, they burnt it out! I now have burnt brown grass! Needless to say, I am once again having to replace/remove a GREAT deal of brown/burnt grass. As usual they take no responsibility and a supervisor was supposed to call me back in 24 to 48 hours after I called them. I live in an HOA community, time is never on your side with an HOA. I heard back from TruGreen a week later. They are HORRIBLE! I WILL NEVER, EVER USE THEM AGAIN!

    Two weeks ago I called and scheduled an extra lawn service due to new grass seed that was up and growing good. I had not had it serviced this spring, and wanted to get the backyard caught up with the front. The person said someone would be out between May 23 - 26. On Friday I called to see if Ron **, our specialist, was coming. I was informed there was nothing scheduled but our regular scheduled visit had been moved from mid-June to sometime in the next week.     The Specialist that I met with the prior time was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He walked the entire lawn with me so that I could show him some areas that needed special attention.     Our account is confusing as we are really a commercial account without a business address. I am the President of our association so I make the arrangements and all correspondence comes to my home address. Our lawn at our home has been treated even though I make every attempt to have the order marked "treat along Diamond Path Rd. and the area along the white fence".     May 31st I reached out to TRUGREEN. Very nice salesman pushing the sale which was easy for I called for I wanted to use TruGreen. He could not give me an appointment so he transferred me to someone else, who transferred me to someone else whom said I would get a call within 48 hours... 7 days later I called to explain I need an appointment and I kept getting call centers trying to sell me TruGreen. I spoke with 4 people from call centers trying to sell me TruGreen yesterday before I got Niesha whom made me an appointment for the next morning at 8am. A few minutes later Shelley from Tampa called me and I explained to Shelley, Niesha made me a 8 am appointment for the next day. NO CALL, NO SHOW today so I called again which Hillary from Tampa answered stating the work day with appointments doesn't start until 10am, 2 hours after my scheduled appointment. TRUGREEN is a complete waste of time, and a lot of time.

    Thoroughly disgusted with TruGreen. Started service with Scotts. Trugreen bought out Scotts. I have complained about crabgrass in my lawn for the last 3 months. The last time the manager said they had just treated lawn and would not send anyone out for another 3 weeks, quite snarky. Sent a message to the Corporate office after 3 weeks; got confirmation that message was received. 3 weeks later no response. Customer service is not just awful but all Trugreen seems to want to do is sell more services. Heck they can't even service what they have. I prepaid for a year contract. Needless to say I will not renew. I had Scotts for about 3 or 4 years, no complaints. Trugreen; this is their 2nd year with me and will be the last.

    We have used TruGreen for a few years on our yard. They are fairly good with the yard and if there are any issues, they are quick to correct. EXCEPT ONE HUGE ONE - they call us continuously trying to sell other yard services. I have complained at least 10 times to not call my cell phone but they still do and repeatedly. If I don't answer my cell, they call the house. Getting a call every now and then would be fine, but calling me weekly and 8 PM on a Friday night, weekends... it is crazy. I have pleaded, begged, and cursed at them to not call, just leave the note on the door. I read it. I get it. They still call. We have paid for the year in advance and this will be our last year. Ugh.

    On Aug. 2nd, 2016, a TruGreen rep offered me a year of lawn spraying at a reduced price if I paid it all upfront. It cost $397.68. After only 8 months of service, they started billing me monthly. When I called them this past April, they told me the year really meant a growing season year & that I was now responsible for the monthly payments. I feel this is a "Bait & Switch" practice. I spoke to 3 different people from TruGreen, & they offered no resolution for this. All they said was that they are sorry, but I still owe them the monthly payments for April & May 2017. They also hung up on me when I mentioned going to the BBB.

    The technician from TruGreen who serviced our lawn (Riverbend, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), called me to say he had completed, but had run short of Notices to plant on our lawn to say it was done (May 30, 2017). This was not possible, as the markers I had setup on the rear lawn to check if anyone even visited this part, indicate convincingly that no one had visited this area.

    I only wish these service people would be trustworthy. He wanted to redo our lawn. However, I requested him not do our lot anymore. I am very disappointed with current TruGreen Services. Karim, one of TruGreen Service Reps was very impolite to me. You can check this out with their recorded conversations. With this kind of treatment now offered by TruGreen (Edmonton, Alberta), I shall not hesitate to inform all my friends and others, how unreliable and discourteous TruGreen Services are now. Come to find out they've been charging me all this year and I haven't been called or informed that they were doing work until they inform me that I owe them hundreds of dollars.     This company had their reps hound me for weeks promising to transform my lawn, etc. The first red flag was that as soon as my credit card number was in their possession, the Sales Rep disappeared and would no longer take my calls but rather reverted to sending me automatic "Not Available" text messages. As for my lawn, it took a nosedive as soon as these people were hired. Crabgrass sprouted everywhere and I found myself buying product from Home Depot to treat my lawn by myself. Each time I called their Customer Service, the girls were rude and tried to talk over me. One of them made a snide comment in reference to my "accent".

    Next thing I knew, my beautiful expensive shrubs started to die off and right on cue, a TruGreen rep started hounding me to sign up for their "shrub and tree plan" for an extra charge. I am convinced that they put some chemicals to kill my shrubs and get me to sign up for some more services. They were also making extra charges on my credit card for services without telling me. Finally I had enough and cancelled the bogus service plan. Please learn from my experience and stay away from these scam artists!!! Besides, you should be treated right and respected by any company you are paying for any kind of service. Shame on TruGreen!!!

    Look at how wonderful my lawn looks!!! No weeds, just a carpet of green grass! Recently after just the second treatment and several days of gentle rain, I had my daughter cut the grass.     I had TruGreen for a few years for regular weed control/fertilization/etc. in my front yard and organic in the back (I have dogs), but it didn't help much with the weeds. The last year of service (now 2 years ago), I called several times to cancel. I had a job answering phones at the time, with little help, and every call was answered with, "Just call us and we'll send someone back out to reapply (weed control)", and then I would be disconnected.

    The last call I made I really thought I had managed to cancel service, but they continued to come out. Then they started calling me back because I stopped paying. Each time I tried canceling service again and get disconnected. Finally I got a hold of a manager and made it clear that I no longer wanted service and I wanted them to stop calling me. I wasn't going to pay for services after I canceled just because they kept showing up! I thought it was resolved. Well, they kept calling me to try to get me to sign up for services again so now I have all of their numbers blocked. Today I got a call from a collection agency (Transworld ref # **, 1-888-899-6650) saying that I still owed $192 and change from not paying TruGreen TWO YEARS AGO! I paid it just because I don't want to have to talk to these people (at TruGreen) again. It felt like harassment every time I did so I decided to write this review and hopefully save some other folks the trouble.

    After two years of service I am done with TruGreen. Half my lawn became so infested with weeds it killed the underlying grass. I tried to work with TruGreen to fix the problem but told them I did not want to pay for services while they corrected their mistake. I was told that they will give us 25% off services going forward. I don't think it was unreasonable for me to expect them to fix their mistakes. I don't know if this was a case of ghosting but I know from the manager our lawn should not have made it to this point. I have attached images of the lawn at different stages of the weeds. This is only part of the lawn. The side lawn was worse but could not get good aerial picture.

    I have been a customer of theirs for about 5 years. I work at home so I know when they come some of the time. Most times they ring the doorbell, sometimes not. Sometimes I am available to answer it, sometimes not. Half the time they do not treat the backyard. I have a 1 acre lot and they leave after 15 minutes which means they only did the front yard. I am tired of this and called and told them I am not paying them until they do what I am paying for. This is a continuing problem with them and if I don't get what I am paying for I will be switching to a new service.

    Hired TruGreen in the summer of 2016. I paid for a full year of treatment upfront, which was a huge mistake. Lo and behold their attempt to aerate and seed in the beginning of August was an exercise in futility. I contacted the office and expressed my concern about the timing of the seeding and they assured me that the seed would take and that if I had any problems to give them a call. Lo and behold the seed did not take and after numerous phone calls with no return followup I was left with a yard that did not look any different from a year ago. Don't waste your time with TruGreen, I was informed by other landscapers that TruGreen overbooks customers and subsequently applies treatments that are not conducive to the time and season leaving many homeowners dissatisfied.

    Horrible lawn maintenance service, almost dropped the company last year, but a manager came out and told me things would get better, and they did for a short time. Weeds are prolific, am told there is nothing they can do. Then the soil is blamed, then the drought. Why is it that other lawns in the neighborhood are green and beautiful? I have the shrub and tree also, and the mites are always attacking my flowering shrubs? I call, they spray only about half. Not a good company anymore, will find something else... ripoff.

    I signed up with TruGreen the fall of 2016. Cancelled services today and requested a full refund. Lawn looks worse than when we started. Customer service is not helpful. Called corporate and had a manager come out and he agreed the lawn did not look good, gave us a free aeration and seeding. It's been 2 weeks and I still have seed and even more weeds. Shop around, ask your neighbors, see what others are using because this company did not provide the services we were promised. Hopefully it won't take months to get our refund!

    I have been a customer of TruGreen for a number of years now and I will be looking for a new company for my lawn care. I am dedicated to an organic lawn program and TruGreen followed that for a while. The last treatment was made at the end of April when I was away for several days. When I got back on May 1st I looked at the customer ticket and was angry when I saw they had applied two pesticides which were in no way organic compliant.

    I called the company and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that all supervisors were in the field but I would get a call the next day. Did I get that call? No. I then looked back at the ticket for the previous treatment and saw that they had used one pesticide at that time also. I then sent a letter to the company, addressed to the supervisor who was on the customer ticket. Did I get a response from that letter? No. Need I say more? I will not be using their services again since there is obviously no checking of what kind of lawn care a customer has requested before an application is made.

    BEWARE of this lawn service company if you live in Northern Virginia. I contracted with TruGreen, located on Commerce Center Ct. Dulles VA, branch 5403, service manager **, in March 2017 to service my approximately 6 acres of lawn. I paid for my entire program in advance which specified that my first treatment, before April 13, was to be lime and starter fertilizer only. No weed killer or pre-emergent was to be applied as I was having aeration and overseeding applied on the 13th.

    On April 8th, authorized by Mr. **, weed killer and pre-emergent weed control were applied to my yard to cover only 19,424 sq. ft. with an accompanying note not to overseed for 28 days. This was in direct conflict of my contract and no other services have been provided. I began calling Mr. ** on the 8th of April and have called every other weekday since. Neither Mr. ** nor his Corporate Manager Mr. ** have returned any of my calls in 43 days or made any effort to resolve my issue.

    I hired TruGreen to take care of my lawn in Valdosta, Ga. I was told it was 29.95 for the first service call. The rep, who didn't live in Valdosta he lives about 75 miles away, told me it was 29.95 and made several recommendations, including plugs for the bare spots in my lawn. I agreed to the information he gave me and they came out and sprayed my lawn about a week later. My first bill was 85 bucks, and I called and asked why. He said they pre-bill for the next month and I was okay with that. Yesterday, a moron from the company came to my house and didn't know where the plugs were supposed to go. Fortunately, my wife was home and able to tell him "where there's no grass." Duh. I got a call from the salesman during this process who said "I don't have my drawings, do you know where you need the plugs?" I said "maybe where there's no grass", duh.

    I also said I wasn't expecting them because it was not scheduled, "but could you auto bill me next week, I'm a little short right now." The cost was 96 dollars and he said he would talk to his supervisor, no problem. Well, today I found my checking account 144 dollars had been deducted for the plugs, and an additional 48 for whatever they decided to charge me. Personally, I am going to start a ** TruGreen Facebook and Instagram site for people to tell the truth about this ** company that lies, lies and lies to get your money. My salesman is Lynn **. His phone number is **. I'd be very happy if you would call TruGreen and let them know you won't deal with a lying company or a lying sales rep. This company only wants your money any way they can get it. Do not do business with TruGreen. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TRUGREEN. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TRUGREEN.

    Most (bad) reviews here are very accurate and address most of the issues: bad techs, overuse of harmful chemicals (it's in the name for Pete's sake!) and pushy telemarketers. My guess is that the 5 star reviews apply to those "newer" customers. We started out as a "Scott's" customers several years ago. The Scott's products were great and my lawn never looked better. However, prices started to get out of hand, so we switched to TruGreen/Chemlawn (about 7 years ago). The lawn looked good for about 2 years and then it went quickly downhill. (No pun intended!)

    We had a great technician who left for greener pastures. (Pun intended!) After suffering for the past few years with bad results, cranky techs and overuse of poisonous chemicals...we cancelled our service early last summer. After doing a lot of research, (and dealing with some major health issues) we have decided to switch to organic materials. For now, we will try to apply the stuff ourselves. At the very least, we are protecting our lawn, the soil and ourselves. Found a great website that sells only organic fertilizer and pre-emergent weed control. Will let you know how it works out!

    I knew as soon as I heard that Scott Lawn Care was merging into TruGreen there would be trouble. And I was right. They never show up as scheduled. We were told they would be here on April 11, May 8th and May12th. Today they were right next door (another unhappy customer) and they never knocked on our door, let alone actually treat the grass. And they just drove away. So I called them up and cancelled the service contract. Someone by the name of "Amy" answered and offered 50% off next treatment. I told her "No, you could offer me free treatments for the rest of the year and the answer is still no." With that, her tone changed and her attitude became more sarcastic in nature. "There have been 3 times that we were told you were coming, and 3 times you were a no call/no show... You're fired." She said, "Ok," and the call ended. I am sure they will start calling us soon offering a reduced rate and the answer will always be no.

    I subscribe to just the tree and shrub service. I really enjoy letting TruGreen take care of this aspect of my yard maintenance. Making sure the trees and shrubs are healthy is an important part of making a yard look nice, but it can require the purchase of special treatments that are expensive and only needed once a year. TruGreen takes care of all that for me, so I can take care of the rest of the yard.

    I have had TruGreen lawn service and still my lawn looks like weeds with sprinkle of grass. I called them in January as soon as I saw a few weeds. They came and applied the weed control... Nothing happened. My lawn started getting worse. Called again stating that did not see any change, they came and reapplied the chemicals. Instead of my lawn getting better, it got worst.

    I asked for their management to come and have a look and review the type of weeds to apply the right chemicals but no one came. They scheduled me but kept rescheduling. It's April. Weeds are now in bloom. They actually said that they had come after the FEB application, when I am sure that no one came. There was no flag on my lawn and no service update left on my door. So they come in April around the 10th... NO CHANGE. Even the broadleaf weed that was there in Jan is still thriving.

    My lawn looks more like weeds are letting the grass sneak in. So called again and they were supposed to come for a free treatment May 18th. This is over 5 weeks since the last application. I waited to talk to the technician. Around 1:30 pm, called the office to confirm that they are still coming. No one came. On May 19th, I get the standard email that the service was performed on my lawn. They must have invisible people working for I did not see anyone. No flag, no service notice at my door but somehow they have again this year performed the service without being on my lawn.

    So far it's been a reapplications. Have to wait for 2 weeks after they apply and you see no results, then you call them, they then schedule, then within a few more weeks they come. By then it is already time for their scheduled next application. The service managers do not call back, nor do they come to inspect when a customer keeps calling for re-service. Why am I paying for services that have no impact on my lawn and service that they LIE are performed? I want to post my video of my lawn...

    This is the best service I have had. I have experienced poor service from a number of lawn service providers. The report provided after each application is less than specific to my lawn - lots of boiler plate language - but they have responded when I call about a problem specific to my lawn. My front lawn grass has improved significantly. There is a decline in the grass at the rear of my property. I plan to call them today to discuss this. The technician was at my home this week but I was not available at that time. Our Florida weather presents a challenge for grass, especially this year - hotter than usual and dryer than usual.     I love getting a notice via phone and/or email. I would prefer not to take a call, but that is probably in my settings. A text and email is great. Also, I like the paper notices left, but they tend to be very generic and similar each time. A true evaluation of things that show some originality would be welcomed. And what I always want to know: When can I water, and what is danger to kids and pets? I do not always get that information. Maybe as well, it would be great to see a bit of a tentative schedule of the summer months. I know it must be a challenge to adhere to it, but to get an idea into my phone.

    Last fall my wife contracted with TruGreen to service our yard. The front yard has always been a struggle, but the back yard has always been great. After scheduled visits from their technicians, spring came around and we noticed several areas where the grass was no longer growing and we now had this strange new grass growing in the front yard. We have lived here almost 18 years and this is the worst the yard has ever looked. We stopped all service and requested an on site visit from a supervisor.     Have given this company a chance (almost one year) and have a worse looking lawn than when I started. Have complained and received return visits but still lawn has weeds and now we have a mole or something tunneling in the yard. Have a huge dead spot where the lawn used to look lush and green 5 days after they sprayed but the weeds in that dead grass spot are still living. Was promised a call back from a manager and it's been over a week and no manager. Tech wrote that it was due to the drought we are in - but just on the other side of the property line there is a city owned park that does not have a sprinkler system and it has greener spots than I do and I run my sprinkler system and am paying a company (TRUGREEN) to ensure a green lawn. It has been a waste of money and time trying to get satisfaction.

    I should have asked for recommendations from friends before calling TruGreen because after sharing our experience with my husband and my coworkers we have found that some had the same experience with TruGreen as we did. One said he was home one time and watched the tech get out of his truck put a sign in his yard and then drove away! Never sprayed. I work so I don't know it that happened in my case at any time but if you look at my yard I still have weeds. Looking for another company!!!

    I am pleased with the overall appearance of my lawn. Although I did not meet the technician in person last visit, he did write down a few comments. One that my lawn mower blade was dull and that is why I get brown tips on my grass. I have since sharpened my blades and the brown tips have gotten noticeably better. I do take issue of two other comments. One that my lawn is heavily compacted. Last fall I rented a power aerator and made several passes in both directions over the entire lawn. This was one of your recommendations. The other was that some brown spots were caused by pet urine. I do not own a pet and my neighbor's dogs do not venture in my yard. I am just curious on how he arrives at his assumptions. Does he test for these things or are they just opinions. Overall I am pleased with the service and how well my lawn has responded to your treatments.

    We had a year contract with TruGreen a couple of years ago. They showed up and put out weed killer or fertilizer from time to time. The fertilizer helped and maybe the weed killer worked somewhat but that is not the real complaint. A few months after the last treatment, we noticed a grass we had never seen in our yard popping up here and there. Didn't think much about it at the time but with the spring rains it has exploded. Areas that were solid Bermuda grass has this stuff all in it. I highly suspect that one of the fertilizer treatments was loaded with some sort of fine fescue seed and now my yard is covered in a grass that I don't want. Some got over in my neighbor's yard and I don't think he is going to be happy either.

    This is very simple. I had an established lawn service for over a decade. I made the giant mistake of giving into the TruGreen salesman who offered a lower price. This was a little over a year ago. In that time period, TruGreen took a beautiful lawn and destroyed it. My lawn is nothing but weeds now. I have been calling and complaining for over 3 months. I have been lied to countless times. It is crystal clear their technicians have no clue what they are doing. I am being harassed by my homeowners association about the condition of my lawn. I was told for over a month that someone would be contacting me and visiting my property to review the issues. I was called ONCE by a guy named Tim who said he was coming out the next day. I never heard from or saw Tim.

    After more phone calls a 'regional' rep did actually show up to my house, only to spew out more lies. He agreed that my lawn was pathetic and said they would fix it. Spoiler alert: nothing has happened. No one has been to my house, no one has done anything. He told me my lawn would be scheduled for aeration even though I had already had that performed. Crickets.... I have heard from no one. The day before TruGreen took over I had a lush lawn that I had spent thousands of dollars on. I now have nothing but clumpy weeds in my yard. I have had 2 companies quote me over $10,0000.00 to undo what TruGreen has done to my yard.

    TruGreen may be one of the most pathetic companies to have such a large customer base. They WILL NOT honor their worthless guarantee. All they will do is blame YOU for their mistakes. DO NOT make the same mistake I made. Their is not a single human being at that company who will take responsibility for anything. It's almost like a pyramid scam. They promise you results and just pass you off to the next rep when there is a problem.

    Our lawn looks amazing. We have neighbors on the west side that have a patch of clover and dandelions covering their front lawn, there is a distinctive line between the edge of their lawn and ours. The neighbors on the north side of us use another company to fertilize their lawn and spray for weeds and their lawn always looks burned when the company leaves, not to mention the smell. I have been pleased to notice that our lawn doesn't have the chemically smell or a burnt look to it when our specialists leaves. We are not usually home when they come to our house so they leave their notes on the door. I like getting a paper version of the service so I can review it when I get home. It's available online too, however, I rarely go into my account online to check the service notes for each visit.

    We bought our home 3 years ago and our yard/grass was mostly creeping charlie, dandelions and clover. We started using TruGreen just last Spring, so, we haven't actually used them yet for an entire year, but our yard already looks so much better! There are still dandelions, but compared to what it was last year, it really looks great! No signs of creeping charlie yet, either! We're hopeful that with a little more time, all the weeds will be gone and our yard will look just amazing. I've only spoken to the specialist a few times, but when I did, he was very helpful and professional.

    I walked out to my truck at 8:30 am to start it, and the TruGreen truck was parked out front. They were prompted, and the service tech stopped from treating lawn to say good morning! He also asked if I had any questions regarding lawn. Their representation is very orderly and clean. They are specific about what they do! My lawn is free of weeds and with a lush dark green color for a lawn! My neighbor and I are the only two on our block that uses TruGreen, and it shows no other lawn comes close to the rich look!     I have called twice about all of the weeds in my yard since TruGreen took over for Scotts Lawn service. Both times I have been told that the hot weather will kill the poa annua weeds that are everywhere. I don't pay for hot weather, I pay TruGreen to kill the weeds that they did not prevent coming up. As soon as I find another Lawn service, I will switch. Never use TruGreen. My neighbors have already canceled with them.

    I am an angry customer of TruGreen. My complaint goes back months, even years. In the fall of 2016, I chose not to aerate my backyard because of the drought. I planted Rye grass to hold the dirt in place because I literally had very few sprigs of grass although I watered several times last summer. The Rye grass came up beautifully and my yard looked good throughout the winter.

    In March with all the rain, I decided to get TruGreen to aerate my yard and overseed it. They refused because they said it was not time to do it. Their computer system would not set up billing for this service in March. I decided to have someone else aerate it, and I personally overseeded it and applied starter fertilizer. I watered regularly... several times a day to germinate the fescue grass. It was starting to look pretty good.

    On 4-24-17, I received an automated call from TruGreen stating they were going to come on 4-25 for a application. I immediately called and told their customer service dept to make sure the tech did not treat my backyard as I had recently aerated, overseeded and fertilized. Imagine my dismay and frustration when I saw they had treated the backyard. I called to complain and asked to speak to a manager. The customer service rep said they would have someone call me. No one called. I called 2 more times. This time the CSR realized they had not actually requested the manager call me, so they put in a request. Still no call. So I called yet again, and told the CSR that I had better hear from a manager by the end of the next day or I would be all over social media filing complaints.

    My house is for sale... so now I have a crummy backyard with giant patches as big as a car that are totally dead. I have pictures. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me when the tech literally dripped weed killers all over my yard... It looked like he'd written "help" in the grass. TruGreen's techs are poorly trained. This tech did not read my history and realize I said not to treat the backyard... and he used too many chemicals in half the grass and not enough in the other half. The previous tech couldn't identify weeds vs. Hostas, and killed them! I would not recommend TruGreen to my worst enemy! Use any other lawn service, but TruGreen... They would HAVE to be better!! TruGreen has NO Customer Services, and Poorly trained Techs!!

    I have been a customer of TruGreen since 2004. I hired TruGreen to take care of my 3 acre lawn, so I did not have to. The last 2 years have been a nightmare to get my lawn serviced in the spring. In 2016, April and May I made 14 calls to the Waukesha Wisconsin division to get my service started and it was late May when they finally showed up, only after I talked to at least 10 different people. I heard everything from the new computer system is not working, to "We currently do not have large enough equipment to do your lawn." Funny thing 3 neighbors have TruGreen and they got their lawns done in early May!

    This year I have called 4 times already. "Due to rain we could not do your lawn 1st week of May." Tuesday called, "You are scheduled for Friday the 12th." Called to confirm Thursday, "No you are not scheduled until Monday the 15th." Today Friday called, "No you are not on the schedule at all." Finally talked to a supervisor, and he promised to have lawn done on Saturday the 13th of May! His excuse was another scheduling problem with computer. Simply put, I am sick and tired of having to call to get TruGreen to do their job. If I have to call one more time to get service TruGreen, YOU ARE FIRED!!! If your Waukesha Wisconsin division is having problems, this is not my problem. I hired you to do a job. DO IT!!!

    I have used TruGreen now for 4 years. My initial contact was to address an aggressive Creeping Charley and Wild Violet infestation that I could not eradicate over the years myself. The representative assessed the yard and suggested a plan to address those T2 issues and an overall lawn care program. The Creeping Charley and Wild Violet issues was 80% eradicated the first year and totally eradicated by the end of the 2 year. I was also very happy with how the general condition of the lawn had also improved. So, I continue to use TruGreen.

    Booked, paid for 5 sprays, goofed up appointment date, called 3 more times before someone finally set up correct appointment. Then they came out and the driver was given wrong information and could not do the spray because my lawn was too big!!! Really, they said they were looking at a satellite picture of my lawn when I booked it. $300 later I cancelled! They need to get their act together and stop with the national phone center and no way to get a hold of personal business spraying. Now I have to find another company... TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES IF THAT IS POSSIBLE. I own a business and if I gave as poor of service as they do I would be out of business.

    We signed up with TruGreen 8 months ago. I suspect we were overcharged for service from the beginning. The 800 number seemed to have our lot square footage and I think- but do not absolutely know- that we were charged on that. Problem, we leave about 20 to 25% of the lot natural and wooded and that area is never treated. After 8 months, the yard looks the worst it has EVER looked. We have weeds we never had before this year. Spring brought us LOTS of blooming weeds and I have the pictures to prove it.

    We got a critical medical call in the fall, while the technician was outside. He kept ringing the doorbell, determined to oversell us a product while I was trying to digest the information. I told him it was a bad time to catch us and he kept overselling. I finally shut the door. He has never forgiven me and my yard shows it. When I called because the grass strip between our driveway and our next door neighbor's yard truly looked like a weed garden, the same guy came out, argued with me, rolled his eyes, etc. It was behavior I had often seen in my 15 yr old. I called TruGreen, they stated they would change our technician.

    It is now May. We are the only people on our street with TruGreen and we have the worst yard in the neighborhood and the worst yard we have ever had since we built and sodded 6 years ago. I called again. They told me they would send a SENIOR technician out. Guess who is here. Mr. rolling eyes. Save your money!!! Very disappointed. Had used them with good results in 2 other states. WILL NOT BE A TRUGREEN CUSTOMER MUCH LONGER IF THEY CAN NOT IMPROVE BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY CANNOT GET WORSE.

    I have never experienced such poor & unresponsive customer service in my 71 years on this earth. Despite no manager showing up this past Monday as promised & killing my entire day waiting, I never got a return call after trying to reach him many times. I was going away Monday for my wife's birthday & was promised a tree & shrub treatment by 10 a.m. No one showed, so I called and was given the service technicians phone number and was told in addition that they would message him. He claimed he received no call (his phone was not answered, had no voicemail). He said he received no messages from the office as I was told happened twice.

    They have 48 hours for the General Manager to respond. It has been well over that deadline and even headquarters couldn't get any manager on the line. The worst customer service I have experienced in a lifetime. I am totally frustrated after paying for the years service in advance. A tree has died due to their ineffective treatment and difficulty getting service that was paid for in advance. They are impossible and extremely poorly managed. Customer satisfaction appears to be of no concern to them. I am frustrated and totally disappointed after using them for years before they acquired Scotts. Ugh!

    Recently TruGreen came & took care of my lawn -- and my trees & shrubs. The voicemail from "Trudy" stated when they would be here, and then on that day, they came. Always dependable. If the weather was not right, and they could not come, they don't forget, and they will call again & Trudy would give the new date & time.     I had discussed scheduling with a TruGreen regional manager moving applications to Thursday or Friday. My grandson mows our lawn on either Tuesday or Wednesday and applications on those day would be lost by the mowing. Future applications are being moved to Thursdays. Very good response to my request. The last application was done professionally. Juan ** knocked on our door but we knew it was TruGreen and didn't answer the door. Mr. ** went about his job applying the fertilizer and broadleaf control in an expert manner as expected.

    Aeration and overseed service performed last fall to remove bald lawn patches. Patches are still here in spring. Made 4 phone calls requesting someone to visit site and repair or advise next steps. This has occurred over 4 weeks and every week they promise resolution but no one Ever shows up.

    I went online hoping to gather pricing without having to talk to anyone. The minute I entered my info, my phone rang. A TruGreen sales rep. After getting quoted for services that I had to remind her I didn't want or need, I told her I needed to think about it and if she wanted me call her back to give me her name and number. She got extremely aggressive, abrasively telling me that I won't find services for less anywhere and that they would customize the service for my price range. I told her, "I am interested but need to call back so if you want me to call you, give me your name and number." She got really mad at this point and told me that all she needed was my credit card, I just hung up. Too aggressive for me. We sign with a local service for 1/2 what they wanted for the same service.

    I hate hate TruGreen, Greensboro NC... Boycott. Do not use TruGreen for your lawn care. They will scam you and take more money from you without approval of their lawn services. I have a complaint and awareness, I want everyone to know how horrible and dishonest I was treated by TruGreen. Please be aware and read this complaint. TruGreen is a scam.

    I originally called TruGreen in April 2017, was on the phone with the agent and agree to hire TruGreen to fertilize and weed control my lawn every Six Weeks. The agent on the phone he told me, "No problem, we have a program to fertilize/weed out every six weeks." The cost would be $53.95 every six weeks and would recommend eight (8) treatments for the year under their TruHealth Lawn Plan to apply fertilizer, Preemergent crabgrass control and broadleaf weeds control.

    I agree and told him I was on a budget and that is all I wanted to spend was $53.95 every six weeks for the TruHealth Lawn Plan, spending $53.95 every six weeks. The first visit was April 26, 2017. After that first visit, they would come back six weeks later which would be week of June 05, 2017, to treat my lawn again for Fertilizer, Preemergent, and broadleaf weed control. This is where the scam of TruGreen happen. WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND I DID NOT AGREE FOR TRUGREEN TO COME ONTO MY PROPERTY, nine (9) days later on Friday, May 05 2017 to apply limestone. I did not sign up for that nor agree to that from the original phone call in April 2017. I told them every six weeks. Not every nine days.

    First, I'm was April 26, 2017. Nine days later they sneak their unauthorized service on me. I was caught off guard not expecting TruGreen ringing my doorbell, waking me and my husband up on Friday morning May 05, 2017. I immediately log into my TruGreen account to discover they charged me another $53.95. I ended up paying $53.95 twice in nine days, spending a total of $107.90. I was so upset and called TruGreen immediately to complain that I did not agree nor authorized the second service on Friday May 05, 2017, I was not going to pay it.

    What I got on the phone was an agent named "Terrica," she was so loud, rude, unprofessional. She did not offer me a solution, she did not care how I felt. She said a supervisor "Cindy" will call me back. Cindy, the supervisor has not called me at all. TruGreen scam me out of $53.95 by showing up nine days later on May 05, 2017, when I agree to them to come out every six weeks, not nine days. I decided to go online, pay the $53.95 to avoid the conflict, to get RID OF TRUGREEN OUT OF MY LIFE. THEY WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME.

    I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR DISHONESTY, SCAMMING ME ON SERVICES I DID NOT AGREE FOR THEM TO PERFORM. I am so disappointed in the supervisor "Cindy," has not called back. TruGreen has not offer me a refund nor any solutions to make me happy. Bad news travel fast in my neighborhood and it is good to know that my neighbors hate TruGreen as well. My neighbors say TruGreen is a ripoff. They will scam you out of more money on services you did not authorize. Myself and neighbors are telling everyone stay away from TruGreen. Boycott TruGreen. They operate a dishonest lawn care service. TruGreen is a scam.

    Liz we apologize for the billing discrepancy, and have reviewed the account and the sales agreement. The welcome aboard letter from 4/17 start of services outlines that the program included 7 applications of fertilizer and weed control and one lime treatment. As listed the expanded services (ex lime) can be performed on the same day as a regular treatment or, even in interim by that standard. An automated trudy call was also provided the day before. We provide the trudy calls so that if a service is not required it can be cancelled prior to completion. I was not able to locate a call requesting the service not be completed. I see that on the 5/5 call after the lime service was completed that the lime service was removed from the program and its auto-renewal in an effort to have only the 7 fertilizer/weed control treatments.

    I got the TruMaintenance Lawn Service for a year. I was home when the Tech came. He did not ring the doorbell, but knocked so quietly none of us heard him, including my dogs. I noticed on my monitor screen a piece of paper at the front door. When I retrieved it, it was a receipt from TruGreen stating what had been done and what was used.

    The service was to include our front and back yard along with the parking area. I was in our family room or kitchen during the entire time he said he was here. I mention this because there are huge windows in both rooms, had a sparrow been in the backyard I would have seen it. After viewing the footage on our camera in the backyard twice, there was no Tech that entered our backyard. I called immediately and canceled our service. Deceit and lying is unacceptable on so many levels and will not be tolerated.

    We saw the Tech doing the front yard, the cost for this visit was $56.95, I sent them a check for $40.00 omitting $16.95 for the backyard. I was not going to put my experience on the internet as I have seen enough negative reviews to warn people this is not a reputable company, until yesterday when I received another bill for the $16.95 only this time they actually had the cashews to tell me my account had been suspended, even though I cancelled it back in January. Plus, it stated if payment was not received I would be referred to a Collection Agency. Wow!
