    My lawn, trees and shrubs are in great hands with TruGreen. My neighbors tell me I have the best looking house on the block! Our house was built on a "wet lot", and keeping the lawn, trees and shrubs healthy, and after this winter, upright we had a small tree and a large evergreen that was part of our back fence privacy, that fell out of the ground, with root balls intact!     Overall, TruGreen has fair prices and timely and friendly service. However, after quite a few months of service, the health of the lawn has been inconsistent due to crabgrass and other preventable items. The attention to detail seems absent, given the “mass production” feel of the service. What good is pre-emergent if it doesn’t work? Golf courses manage to avoid crabgrass, so it certainly is within reason to expect thick, weed free grass with the services we buy from TruGreen. I definitely believe that my yard has been improved by TruGreen, but I do not believe that the service has produced outstanding or consistent results.

    I was a little apprehensive about using TruGreen because of negative feedback. So when the Tech arrived for my 1st application, I questioned him about some bad feedback. He was very professional and answered my questions honestly in a nonscripted manner. He was very responsive to my needs. I said, "Let’s proceed and see what happens." I figure it’s going to take a couple of seasons to renew my lawn. The key is to listen to their instructions and water!

    Very disorganized business, didn't get through the setup phase due to constant continual call by the company. Total of FIVE calls from them, and still they needed to call me one more time to set up my account. After I filled out inquiry form, I was called once and agreed on service. Two minutes after, I was called again by different person wanting to set me up. Kindly I told that person I had already been contacted and signed up.

    The next morning I was called again by another person saying she could beat the other's prices. She did, great. I explained to her she was my third call. Then I was called by an independent auditor wanting to verify. The prices were the guys from the first day. They had to send back to team. I explained that I had reached my tolerance for the calls and I would only accept one more from the company before I called it quits. I received another call telling me they agreed to honor the pricing - thanks for doing me the favor. Then said I was going to get another call. I told them no more. I felt harassed.

    To make it worse each time I spoke to a new person they wanted my credit card number. I gave it to the first guy but refused to give it to anyone else. I'm starting to think they are scam artists or something. Not a good experience. I am going to put a fraud alert on that credit card. I can't believe they are an actual business with the horrific disconnect they have internally.

    When I first started with this company my goal was to rid my yard of weeds/sticker bushes or briar patches. This was achieved. In the process it created many bald spots in my yard. That is to be expected however I was told grass would now grow in those places due to their follow up treatment. A year or so later this has not happened. We have personally spent @ $500+ on hay and seed ourselves to correct this issue. When we brought this up to TruGreen we were told a “lawn tech expert” would come out to evaluate the problem to see what can be done. Well the ‘expert’ was the same young man that previously did our mosquito treatment and at the time (I think was in March 2018) he had been with TruGreen @ 90 days according to him. We now have little to no confidence TruGreen will solve this problem or even CARES to do so. We will make a decision on our next course of action by the end of July 2018. We will also submit pics.

    I don't like having a different tech each time. I very seldom get the same one. I have had some really good ones and some whom are still on the JV Team. I worked 14 years in pest control including lawn service so I am familiar with what they should be doing. I have prepaid so I will stick it out for the rest of the year but will probably not continue after that. I will shop around for a different company.

    The TruGreen experience has been extremely frustrating! First, it takes at least 48 hours or longer to be able to talk to a person in the service area office. The first technician we had was great and after 3 applications the yard was starting to look good. Then on June 15th, the technician DESTROYED the turf. Don't know if he over applied a chemical or had mixed something wrong, but it took 2 weeks to get an area manager out to look at the yard.

    I was promised a refund on the application that destroyed the lawn and it took 2 weeks to get that. Then had a local lawn care company out to look at the yard and they recommended that TruGreen should pay for new sod. Fired TruGreen and requested the balance of my prepaid services. Was promised a refund within 5 business days and we are still waiting. Even with a cancellation reference number, no one seems to be able to find out what is happening with the cancellation or refund. WORST, ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!

    Unfortunately for me my experience with TruGreen was not as positive as many on this review site. I have been taking care of my own lawn for the last 10 years with great success. I decided to outsource the lawn care this year to TruGreen as I recently started a new business and have less time available to manage my lawn. My lawn soon became overrun by weeds. I called TruGreen early on to advise that the weed problem on my lawn was starting to get out of control.

    Granted I never once spoke to the person who came to service my lawn because he never once rang my doorbell to alert me he was actually outside treating my lawn. I have just canceled the service and have taken charge of treating my own lawn once again. Needless to say I was highly disappointed. I went with TruGreen because I had others tell me how great the service was. In the end I guess it boils down to the technician that's working on your lawn. I'm not saying don't use TruGreen. Just make sure the person that is servicing your lawn has an interest in your lawn.

    I had TruGreen service in 2017 with very good results. This year I didn't call them until July. The tech came for one treatment. After 10 days no signs of weeds dying or struggling to live. I called for an additional, no cost. Treatment. I called two times and scheduled. ON two occasions the tech did not show up, even though I received several emails, service today, between 12 and 5, and be there soon... Called. No one knew why no show. I spoke to someone in my local, Alcoa, TN office who said she could contact the manager. NO response, I just received a call that I am scheduled for a service tomorrow. I do not expect him to show. It seems someone would be tracking what is going on when a tech does not make his calls.

    Matt from TruGreen and I spoke about our shrubs and bushes on Th July 12 and set Wed July 18 as the day for our service since I wanted to do a walk-around with the provider. Matt said the service would be injections at the base of each bush and tree and that the service person would call me one hour before arrival. After staying home on the 18th, I received a robocall saying they would do the service on the 19th. I called the office who said they would call me back (they never did). I talked with Matt and rescheduled for Friday afternoon 20th. At 7:30 am on the 19th, my husband answered the doorbell, and I got out of the shower and met Don, the service person.

    He was very pleasant but had never heard of Matt and denied being told to call before arriving. He said that this was not soil/root injections as Matt had said but spraying the foliage. Matt did not answer my call to him for clarification (and never returned the call). Don was pleasant, did an exceptional job and I appreciated his comments. However, the office, scheduling and notification follow the same problems that we stopped using TruGreen for before - they do not return calls, do not take requests into consideration, ignore scheduling and warning call agreements, they never seem to know what is going on with a customer, and the other service people seldom knock on the door so that I can accompany them on their treatments on our property. VERY POOR OFFICE COMMUNICATION WITH CUSTOMERS AND TO THE REAL STAFF WHO DOES THE WORK.

There is still a lot of work to do to rectify the past issue but They have admitted the issue and are willing to fix it.     Not impressed. Response time. If weather will not cooperate, normal reschedule would be a week to 10 days away. Broad leaf preventatives was applied in late April after clover was already growing in my lawn. Crabgrass preventer was applied yet 1/3rd of my back lawn is covered in crabgrass. I’m not sure how that’s possible. Free service to take care of all the weeds. Service agent could only do half the lawn and he was only 50% effective on the weeds he applied post emergent on. Service agent said he needs to come back again to complete and told me he would reschedule on his end. I called a week and a half after the fact and it was never rescheduled until I called in. I emailed the branch manager a question about the last application but he never responded to me either. I truly believe I could do better if I just did it myself.

    It had been an awful experience. You cannot get in direct contact with the local branch without calling the call center. The tech fertilized my lawn twice in 1 week and burnt my lawn. They were supposed to come do a weed treatment because it couldn't be done due to heat on the first day and they did another service without weed control. They had to come out a 3rd time for the weed control treatment. The results of the treatment were not good as well. The road supervisor recommended that I fertilize in between services to get the green grass I'm looking for.

    I am writing to Mr. R. David Alexander, CEO of TruGreen: Please help me! I cannot get an adequate response from your call center. They promise to come out to re-treat and so far have failed to arrive on 3 separate occasions; they promise to call me - they don't. The technician doesn't treat all of what used to be lawn. I have more weeds than grass - I have areas which are now just dirt. Where are your TruGreen PhD certified specialists who will evaluate my lawn with your TruGreen Healthy Lawn Analysis® and design a tailored approach to give my lawn exactly what it needs at exactly the right time. What is the point of your TruGreen® Healthy Lawn Guarantee® if you do not gladly (or otherwise) visit my property as often as needed between scheduled visits to make any necessary adjustments and to ensure my satisfaction.

    So unhappy with TruGreen, they absolutely destroyed my lawn on July 2nd! Had the Manager come out and there has been no lawn repair to date. I will tell every one I know... never to use TruGreen. I have been a customer for almost 20 years and this is the service I get? Absolutely horrific! What more can I say? They applied granular and dumped excessive amounts all over the yard detoxing the grass. And nothing done. So unhappy. Total destruction. I want action now, before it destroys more of my yard, yet nothing is happening. Just awful...

    Let me preface this review with these conditions:
    1. This review is only for a partial year's worth of services.
    2. My lawn was cared for by myself for the previous 2 years.

    3. I prepaid for the complete plan.

    First the good. TruGreen is incredibly responsive to customer requests for reapplications if required. When I called, and I called often, they were usually there within 3 business days. Honestly, my lawn looks great in terms of color: deep green. Now the bad. The communication between sales, technicians, and customers is horrendous. Aside from reapplications, not once was I contacted when the technician was scheduled to be at my address. If I didn't work from home, there would have been no possibility to actually converse with the technician to relay my concerns.

    The free reapplications that come with the complete plan are a nice service; however, why did I require a reapplication after every service? Keep in mind that I performed the same services myself for the previous two years with similar results and fewer applications. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I didn't have the complete plan with unlimited reapplications based on my satisfaction level of the initial service. Those customers without this are in serious trouble.

    Three weeks after I cancelled all my services and received a refund, I was surprised to see a TruGreen technician walking around my front yard at 8 in the morning spraying for weeds. When I asked him what he was doing his reply was "Respraying for clover and other weeds like you asked." In his defense, he was simply following the work order; but this is another glaring example of the poor/nonexistent communication. I wasn't expecting another service and now I have chemicals on my yard at a time that I wasn't expecting them.

    When I did make the decision to completely cancel, the first 20 minutes of the call was an attempt to keep me as a customer, which I understand is their policy, but annoying nonetheless. I agreed to keep my services with one caveat: a manager from my local office would contact me, come to my property, and review my concerns and problem areas with me within 2 business days. After 3 days passed, I called in to cancel. If there was truly any concern for customer retention you would think a simple phone call would be warranted. When my account was completely closed I received a confirmation number and a refund amount. A few business days later, I checked my credit card expecting to see the amount I was quoted only to see a lesser amount.

    The reason was that the prepay discount was retroactively applied at cancellation thus lowering the amount. Perhaps training for the customer service reps is in order. Bottom line: I am sure their services work and would have worked; but if the customer service aspect doesn't live up to the promises, then you are only getting 50% of what you paid for. Fix your lines of communication TruGreen.

    We gave the serviceman great scores two days after his visit. Now we're not so sure. Our yard is now striped!!! We have alternating stripes (about 3-4 feet wide) of dark green and lighter green grass. The application wasn't done right. This is true for both front and back yards. Also, there is a circle of burned grass on a part of the backyard where the application was too heavy.

    The company gave me a window today for my service of 7-12! Well they showed up at 11:55! I have to be here as my gate has a lock on it I need to remove! They make one pass of my yard and say they can’t aerate newly sodded yards! The sod has been down for 4 months and they know it’s sod, they are the ones who suggested it be aerated and have been here multiple times to treat my sod!! So I wasted half of my day! Never again! Just put stop on my card so they can no longer charge me, and have a new company coming tomorrow! And calling customer service? Forget it! They are the worst!!!

    TruGreen suppose to treat my lawn a few weeks ago but they kept canceling multiple times and now my lawn turned into yellow and weeds are spreading and in some spots grass dying. Made repeated calls and escalated the issue several times including going to the TruGreen office in Londonderry, NH but no resolution yet. I had friends and families come over the past weekend and they were all asking how come my lawn is looking bad but my neighbors’ lawn look good even though my lawn getting serviced by a professional company. I have never seen such a terrible response like TruGreen. Very unhappy with TruGreen service.

    I had TruGreen last year and had a positive experience so I continued it and it has been horrible. I paid in advance for the discount. I received an email and my first lawn treatment appropriately. About two months went by and I did not receive another treatment. I called customer service. The woman I spoke to was very nice. Apologized and said the technician forgot or was sick. She said she would credit me for the serviced missed as it was too late to do it. She also said that she would have them do the next service of weed control and FERTILIZER in the next week at no charge to me. I clarified this twice with her that it was for this next visit of fertilizer and weed control in addition to not being charged for the no show session and she assured me of this. This was more than fair and I ended the conversation happy.

    I received an email and a technician showed up as planned. When I got home I discovered that all that he did was spot spray some weeds! I called customer service and the person again apologized, was empathetic and said the technician did not read the order and she would make sure it was done in the next week. I said this had to be done in the next week as I was leaving on vacation and would be gone the following week and I did not want someone coming when the house was locked up. I also asked for someone to call me and let me know it was set up appropriately. She assured me someone would and that it would be taken care of before I left for vacation. No one ever contacted me or showed up to do my lawn. While I was on vacation 1500 my father-in-law who was pet sitting called and told me TruGreen was in my backyard which I had told them not to do!

    At this point I was not very angry because I figured I was back on track and was being compensated for all the mix-ups. Until yesterday, when a TruGreen rep knocked on my door to talk to my wife about landscape service. She told him about the problems we had. I came home from work and he was nice enough to wait for me. He told me he was the manager of my account and I should deal directly with him and that customer service doesn't help because they are not here.

    I asked if he would check my account and clear up the confusion and assure me that my last visit was at no charge. He gave me his phone number and said I could call him anytime if there was a problem. Sounded good. He also gave us a long sales pitch to take care of our landscaping which didn't sound too bad except that he used the word "guarantee" a lot and when I asked it was just his language and that there was no real guarantee. We said we would seriously consider it and he said he would call us tomorrow.

    He called the next day as he said he would but had done nothing to look into the issues I had asked him about. I could hear him asking someone in the background who kept saying "I don't know". At this point I told him I was done with TruGreen and wanted to cancel my service. He said he couldn't do that and gave me another number to call.

    I immediately called the number which was customer service. At this time I was livid and went through the whole story again telling her I wanted to cancel service. She told me the man who came to our door was a salesman and not a manager! She said she had no record of the no charge service, would have to charge me for the two services I had and also take away the discount I had received for paying upfront. She was rude and I asked to talk to a supervisor.

    After waiting on hold for awhile I spoke to another woman who was rude and unfriendly. I was so upset at that time I could hardly speak. She asked me what the name was of the woman I had spoken to a month ago who told me about the free service (which I had repeatedly clarified with that woman but didn't remember her name). The person I was now speaking to said that she would split the difference with me. I said okay but at that point it was not about the money but the terrible way I was treated and I just wanted my connection with TruGreen to be over.

    If you folks are really interested in having a quality company customer service is essential. My experience indicates that work needs to be done in keeping notes, communication between different factions and doing what you say you'll do. I recognize that no system is perfect but my experience was horrible and no one should be treated this way. It takes a lot to get me angry. This would have made anyone furious. I hope you will treat take this letter to heart.

    I've been a TruGreen customer for over 20 years. Lately, I've been working from home when they have come to service the lawn. Often the receipt will say that they knocked and there was no answer when I actually watched them pull up and never knock. The latest is that they did not knock as they said and they also said they closed the fence when done. Since I was home watching, I know that the tech did not enter the backyard, fence was not touched. The Tech also wrote my lawn was full of mushrooms and when I look I don't even find 1. I think they just have pre-typed comments that get printed on the receipt depending on what they did to your lawn or what they selected. The Tech isn't actually typing anything and nothing is actually specific to your lawn at all. When I call about this they say they will have someone come out and re-do it.

    The second tech also did not enter the backyard and just re-treated the front. I called and complained and they sent a manager out to check the backyard (but not on the day they said they were coming). They apologized and finally treated the backyard. I called about the service not being done when they said it would and they said they would give me half off the next 2 treatments. This is fine and all but they don't seem interested in the fact that the technicians are not treating the entire property.

    I don't blame the technicians, TruGreen probably gives them a daily schedule that is impossible to complete in the time given so they have to cut corners somewhere. It's also not their fault for what is written on the statement as they are just selecting options. I was also told that the technicians are not required to tell you if for some reason they are unable to treat the entire property (sprinklers on, dog out, etc.). They just don't do it and bill you anyway. Unfortunately I'm planning to try another company as the service at TruGreen has really done downhill.

When I noticed and called it to their attention after several treatments, they once again came and charged me for 1700 square feet.     TruGreen has recently acquired our lawn care company, Green T, here in the Chicagoland area. The transition has been quite painful. Unfortunately, our lawn has some sort of disease which based on our own research could be a fungus of some sort. I immediately called TruGreen to have a specialist come out to look at it. It took 6 days to get someone out after repeated frantic calls. Each day that goes by, more of the lawn is dying. The service agent took pictures, said he had no idea what it was (!) and would have someone call me.

    When dialing the local number, we are just pushed to a giant call center in another state. The customer service reps are extremely gracious but can do nothing except "put a note in the file" to have a manager contact me. I was informed they don't return calls much because they are out in the field for most of the day! Too bad I didn't get one of those "experts" to look at my lawn. I have been promised a return call each day this week. In the meantime, the entire parkway is dead and damage is starting in both the front and backyard. We take tremendous pride in our lawn and would just like the opportunity to save at least a portion of it. Awful company, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Green T was local, responsive, genuine and easy to reach...I am saddened by this buyout.

    The only suggestion that I have constantly relayed to your company is that of scheduling - even though there are 5 houses in my block - the scheduler does give the service men the same area and sends multiple trucks to the same block on different days - seems wasteful of company resources as I assume this practice is throughout the QCA.

    I don't think it's necessary to tell you how bad TruGreen Indian Trail is. I'll just post my pictures and you can judge for yourself. They spilled fertilizer all over the grass and killed it. They spilled fertilizer in the street and left it. I had to sweep it up so our pets and other animals wouldn't be poisoned. We have repeatedly called TruGreen and sent emails requesting someone come out and fix our grass. This was not the first time they spilled fertilizer either. No one has been out. No one has called back. No one cares. Terrible customer service. We're cancelling our service with them too. Oh yeah, we received a bill for their terrible service.

    My lawn looks worse now than it ever did in 21 years. I called the service because I had weeds. They killed the weeds and the grass. I have brown spots all over. I called them and they said they would come back to fix the problem and they never did. They claim they never had an order to come back. So I would never recommend them to anyone!!     Call weekly to see when my next service is (haven’t had one since April - supposed to be once a month). Every time I’m given a date. Sometimes Trudy calls to tell me my lawn care specialist will be out. Sometimes she doesn’t. Each time, no one shows. I call back and get the sand run around. Had the same problem in past years.     We've been using this service for 2 years- for lawn care and mosquito control. Not super satisfied with the results. We still have mosquitoes like crazy. They've come out extra and still no improvement. Our grass is minimally, if any improved. On top of all this they've been double billing me. We pay in full for our services at the beginning of the year, yet I just noticed recurring monthly charges to my credit card for the last several months. Customer service claims that autopay is the default even if you're paid in full and have no balance?!? Makes no sense. Not an ethical billing practice. Check your statements. You're probably being charged for services you're not getting too.

    I called and canceled my service when we were very dissatisfied with weeds. I called my rep to let him know about the problem several times. No response. So we decided to cancel our service. I called the billing number and told them I wanted to cancel the service and they offered a retreat and I canceled the service. I look at my bank statement and they charged me again for another service and mosquito treatment. I call again and canceled my service. They said I had to pay for the mosquito treatment. Why should a customer have to go through this with a company? Horrible experience... Reps sell you their products but don't back it up. I shouldn't have to pay for a service I called and cancelled. Please be aware of the reps selling you all the products and telling you to call them personally that they will handle your yard's problem areas. They treated our yard for mold and it was costly but we still have the same mold. Horrible Horrible experience!

    One of the things I like most about TruGreen is that they call before they come to your home. It means you can prepare your yard so it gets the optimal service. I know I need to take the yard, pick up dog poop, mow, etc. The employee coming to take care of the lawn always attempts to say hello if you're home and are very courteous, even if you don't pick up the poop. My yard has never looked better, each service has been catered to the lawn's needs. They were ahead of the weeds on my last service, and warned me it's likely they'd be back soon and to give them a call to stop back again between applications, which they do for free! Could not be happier and will always recommend them to friends and family in the future.

    I was very upstanding after the first application that it didn’t work as well as I had hoped or as well as it was promoted. I called a week after the first application and asked to have it redone, we still had mosquitoes. I called 7/2, I emailed on 7/6 and received phone call on 7/7 that someone would be out at the beginning of the week.

    I called AGAIN today 7/10 to find out that someone should be out tomorrow. My son was home on military leave for 2 weeks - that time is up now! We couldn’t enjoy our outside space as we had planned. And as I’m typing this message I get a robocall that it’s scheduled for tomorrow. I have told everyone that I have spoken to that the tech has to call or knock because we have dogs that we will need to put up, AND give them access to the backyard as it is locked because we have a pool. This is so frustrating. Now I have to call AGAIN to make sure that they note to have the technician call or knock. Horribly disappointed in this service.

    Last year, I had full lawn care service and mosquito control. They came out when they were scheduled, it was great. This summer I signed up for the Mosquito control (was holding on lawn care to assess the lawn and my time to care for it)... I prepaid for the Mosquito control on May 24th. It is now July 10th. I have not had a single treatment. We've called a number of times, and they were schedule twice. Once it rained, fine. The second time they were scheduled it was beautiful, but they never showed. We don't know why, just that they couldn't make it. I am disappointed in the service. We've called and talked to customer service who has put it in as an "emergency" at least 2 times, and we still have not had treatment. In Maine, summer is over quick. It's really disappointing that we've not been able to enjoy our outdoor area at all... The mosquitos are so bad this year. I will not be a customer next year.

    When I came to Florida I retained the lawn care service of the previous owner. As new to the area I was not aware of the other lawn services available. As the years went on I became less satisfied with my current lawn care people.     Last year (2017), I engaged the services of TruGreen for their all inclusive annual lawn care program of scheduled treatments and it failed to yield much in the way of meaningful improvement. Based upon decades of personal experience in handling all lawn care responsibilities, I felt that they either applied too much or too little chemical product, the latter seemed to me as the most plausible reason for such negative results. Establishing and maintaining healthy turf does not require sophisticated rocket science knowledge and usually recovers quite well within the timeline of one year. I reluctantly allowed them to proceed with two early Spring (2018) applications to address pre-emergent weed control that was already way out of control from last year. In the weeks that followed these two applications, I can accurately report that my weeds are flourishing and spreading remarkably well.

    Their re-seeding from last year was of no benefit since there are still many bare spots as testimony to the lack of efficacy with that expensive service. Their seeding/aeration apparatus left mounds of soil plugs upended everywhere -- each resembling the size of a wrapped roll of nickels -- and made a particularly muddy mess along the length of my concrete sidewalks and road long asphalt driveway. Two techs were present for that project -- one highly experienced and the other a recent hire who was being broken in and operating that unwieldy machine on my property. Thank you TruGreen for granting me the honor by using my property as your guinea pig and my disaster area.

    I received a promotional opportunity last month to treat trees and shrubs and I agreed to permit it as a one time trial basis, due to my dwindling to non-existent faith in their services. For general safety and security purposes, every angle of my property is equipped with closed circuit video cameras that are conspicuously mounted to record activity 24/7/365. Signage is clearly posted on each side to advise those approaching the residence that video surveillance is being recorded on site and monitored offsite. We intentionally want them to be seen in order to keep strangers honest. The tree and shrub treatment was scheduled for May 10, 2018, so I started very early that morning to finish weeding the few remaining bedding areas in preparation for their service application. When I finished this chore, I noticed that a TruGreen hanger was on the front door knob.

    Much to my surprise, it contained one of their thermal paper receipts that indicated the tree and shrub service had already taken place that morning at 6:51 AM and was concluded eleven minutes later with a 7:02 AM departure. Now, when I contract for a great many service procedures, I basically don't care how long it takes to do the job -- just as long as the specified task is done correctly and fully accomplished, (If billed by the hour I would want proof that those hours were actually expended.) However, in this particular case the scant time element of eleven minutes was a clue not to be ignored and it had really piqued my curiosity. So I headed to the security control system to run a detailed multi-angled playback -- if the entire application was entirely completed in eleven minutes -- this complaint would never have been written.

    The tech treated less than one third of the shrubs on the property, limited to the front left side of the house. Skipped the entire right side and all of the shrubs in the backyard. Brought it to the attention of TruGreen and while the responsive tone was borderline apologetic, they did not strike me as being surprised at all -- or at least that was my impression. One employee suggested that the tech probably did a thorough inspection and determined those areas did not require application -- but fact is he never remotely approached those untreated areas with eight CCTV cameras documenting every movement. All that happened was the extraction of the hose from the truck, one brief watering of that one side, retraction of the hose and the placement of the door hanger containing the receipt. Then, gone and presumably on the way to the next victim.

    I was charged $54.52 for that partial service, which was more than the quoted promotional offer. After doing basic research on the Internet and YouTube -- no wonder they did not seem surprised -- this happens day in day out -- by people like me recording these events. We reached a settlement. I agreed to pay that invoice in full and in return they are not to call me, write me, nor step foot on my property. While it may be pure conjecture, if I caught them boldly cheating me on this deal, what faith should I have that their standard lawn applications involve little more than spraying tap water on the lawn without the requisite chemicals or spreading some inert dry material without active ingredients? Fact is when two consecutive weed control applications fail to eradicate the weeds, my otherwise purely hypothetical argument as a basis for that kind of suspicion becomes anything but far fetched.

    If you search the Internet and YouTube you will find some real eyeopeners of reviews and complaints -- they're everywhere. Truly astounded by the sheer volume of people who expressing scores of deep negativity where nothing was applied to their lawns as well. This firm must go through a rather large number of new customers (and Employees) each year with a retention rate hovering somewhere around zero percent. Those rare five star reviews were obviously penned by company confederates -- as they stand out like sore thumbs. This company places a lot of pressure on their employees and the only way they can produce the numbers demanded of them is to cheat whether they want to or not. It's their corporate mentality and they are fully aware of all their deceptive practices in order to reap their desired outcome. That outcome is their only objective -- all else is incidental to their function in business and in life.

    Advertising states the first treatment $29.99. I spoke to the rep and told him we our lawn had been fertilized on schedule but was brown. The rep said it could be bugs but the tech would let us know. End of that conversation. The rep went over our treatment plan and cost and said the first application would be $29.99. After that the treatment would be the set price. I spoke to another rep who repeated the same price. $29.99 for the first application and then the set price. The tech came to our home and stated our lawn was in drought shock. He told my husband he didn’t see any bugs.

    My credit card was charged $86.60 from TruGreen. I contacted TruGreen and asked them about the charge. They told me the additional treatment was for the bug spray. I was never informed the treatment would be given plus the tech said we did not have bugs. Why would I be charged for a treatment my lawn doesn’t even need. The rep told me she would removed the bug treatment from further applications. I don’t know why they would put a bug treatment on my contract, when they had not seen my lawn, then the tech said we didn’t have bugs, but treated it anyway. I should have listen to my neighbor who said they were very expensive. When I found out what the set price would be, it didn’t seem expensive, but now realizing they have hidden costs. I’m having second thoughts.

    I called in May 2018. I was told about what to expect. I was going to get (preemergent, emergent weed treatment and fertilize treatment). The weeds should Be shriveling up in a short time. However, if you are still seeing them, they would come out after 2 weeks. I called and received this ‘free’ treatment because it did not do what I was told. Now, remember I started in May and I started with their $29 + beginning few. Then, it would be about $70 per month after that.

    In the meantime I contacted the company. I wanted to speak to a supervisor but was told one was NOT available. I told this ‘specialist’ to cancel the services. Well, all of a sudden, the ‘specialist’ was going to connect me to a supervisor. Cutting to the chase... the individuals that answer the phone to give you CUSTOMER SERVICE need A LOT more training. I was misinformed by the very first ‘specialist’ and it continued until I just decided there were too many RED FLAGS dealing with this company. Oh well, LIVE AND LEARN... Be aware and get other professional advice before you use this company!

    After my last fertilizer application in May I experienced fertilizer burn in several areas of my yard. I voiced my concern with the local office and they were very quick to respond to the complaint and looked at the burns. They confirmed that it was, in fact, fertilizer burn and have committed to taking the necessary action to repair the damage. The applicator returned today and applied the necessary treatment(s).

    Your tech is great, he was very polite and explained everything. However, apparently your product isn't. I still have weeds and bare spots. The only reason I went with your service is because of the guarantee. Exactly how does that work? It's obvious to me that I am not getting a nice lawn anytime soon which means what? You'll want me to pay you for next year's service? In advance? And go through this next year? My neighbors don't have this problem.

    Used TruGreen all of 2017. Lawn was looking great. Overseeded in the fall. One large area of bare ground never came up. I had prepared ground so it would take. Now in 2018, they came and applied fertilizer and weed control when the temps were still way too cold. Second app a month later along with spot weed killer, again before weeds started growing. No wonder the tech said he couldn't find weeds.

    Now a full 2 months later, my yard is full of weeds. Looks worse now than before we started with them. Went online to register a complaint and to cancel service. They should do more than just schedule applications and never check back. Especially 2 months between applications. Should be part of service. We, as a customer, should not have to call and say the application didn't work. Went out and bought weed spray and fertilizer so I can do it myself. I thought I was buying more than someone just spreading fertilizer and leaving until the next time. Maybe different franchises are better, based on more positive reviews.

    This is our second year of service with TruGreen. We are seeing quite a difference in the appearance and feel of our lawn. It's nice to look out across our lawn and have it appear weed free. We are not totally there when you are close-up but it is amazing in how far it has come in so little time.     Wish I could give them a ZERO! Horrible company to do business with! Jessica at the Meridian office is incredibly rude, and I would never suggest doing business with them in the future. I enrolled online, and they said I would get email explaining process. Never got an email, and so I called. They explained over the phone and said that they were doing 2 treatments on the first visit. The advertisement said first treatment was 29.95, but they were going to just through on a billbug treatment on the first one for an addition 79.99.

    I am sure glad that I called so that I didn't get a unexpected charge, and I cancelled. Wendy was the technician that claimed to come out, but did not leave a receipt on my door. She even had the gull to say that she talked to someone at the home, but there was no one even home. I have cameras at my home also and she wasn't found treating my lawn on the cameras. I called and talked to Ryan, the sales manager, and he said that he would send her back out to treat the lawn. She came out to my property that time and talked to me on my video doorbell. I told her to treat the lawn like Ryan said, and she then I saw her sit in her truck for 10 minutes. Then left without doing anything! I called back to talk to Ryan, and Jessica told me that he wasn't going to talk to me and asked if I wanted to cancel or what... She said it in a way that was very rude. So, I hung up on her.

    A couple weeks go by and she calls me again, and left voice mail. I wouldn't talk to her again, and so I called and asked to have the general manager call me. Later, I did get a call from Joel. He was professional and polite. He did say that he had researched it and said that GPS showed her at my property both times, and pretty much politely told me that he was going to take Wendy and Jessica word over mine. There are too many reasons to believe them, and so I will be filing a report with the BBB and disputing their charge to my credit card. WARNING! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Then received invoice for more $$ that I negotiated with a manager earlier that year?I Called # on bill and was transferred to Cincinnati? Didn't get a return call for 4 business days? Doesn't seem that TruGreen has my interest in mind. But does want more revenue per treatment and my loyalty. I did get a call from a familiar person Nick ** and he said he will have someone call or make an appt to look at the property.

    My yard was serviced by Nick **. Nick stopped in when he first arrived and filled me in on what he was going to do. I told him to have at it. He was putting down Grub Control and Fertilizer. I was working in the garage on my lawn tractor so when Nick finished and went out to his truck to have a chat about the service I made some comments about how weeds were coming in from property out by the road, that is county property, but we (my neighbor and I) cut and keep it as the county said we could. Nick was all ears. He actually listen to what I had to say and after a brief time he had some suggestions about how to minimize weed spread with cutting patterns. I had never thought about that but it made complete sense.

    We talked a bit more about service and I mentions that we used to have a regular guy service the property but this year it's been several different folks. I mentioned it to Nick and he said I could ask for him and he would be glad to be my regular guy as he worked the Mechanicsburg area. Well it didn't take me long to reach out to TruGreen and I hope I get Nick ** as my guy. It's not often you find a guy who knows what he is doing and yet is willing to listen and make reasonable suggestions. He also noticed some excess weeds in spots so he told me he would also treat them during that same service before he left. I'm really happy with TruGreen and hope Nick becomes the regular guy.

    Before the lawn service began he knocked on the door and asked if we had any questions or concerns.     As a loyal customer of over a decade, I have repeatedly asked not to have my yard aerated until October or November and automatically get scheduled in August each year. I have asked to make note of that each year and yet get automatically signed up for August aeration. That does not work in Charlotte at all. It is still extremely hot and not worth your effort to aerate anyone in Charlotte in August. I recognize that the notification comes but I Travel a lot so I haven’t switched to text notification when service is coming up. I understand many changes have come over the years as far as software and mergers but recommend paying a little closer attention to request such as this.     All you get is "I" or "We are sorry about... Let me fix it for you." Yet nothing gets fixed nor do you see or hear from the local management. You are always told their voice mail is full but they will leave a note or an email for them with your issue. STAY AWAY from this company. My lawn now has bare spots and I cannot get anyone to look at it or contact me. Just trying to get the service stopped and a refund is a nightmare. Six weeks with weekly calls and still can not get it stopped. Then there are the constant emails and phone calls trying to sell you additional stuff. There is a do not sell list. I was on it but still received 20 - 25 emails a week and 3-5 phone calls. Snail mail was not bad. You only get 2-3 pamphlet's a week.

    I contacted TruGreen twice to create a quote and then to confirm the coverage of the weeding and fertilizer service. One day while home the technician stopped to talk to me. He asked if I was sure I wanted only the front yard serviced. I said, "No. The entire yard". He proceeded to spend 5 mins in the front yard and left. I immediately called TruGreen to ask why my lawn was not serviced as per the contract. They said they have a contract that states I only want the front yard done. And 2400 square feet is all I am paying for. My front yard is about maybe 600 feet of grass. Then they tried to tell me my yard was actually 9000 sq feet of grass and then through email that it was 7000 sq feet of grass. Both are wrong as my yard is mostly forest and flowerbeds.

    I have cancelled my service immediately and requested a full refund. They have not returned my calls nor offered any remuneration (they only did a few hundred sq feet.) for my inconvenience (I spent over an hour and half on two different occasions confirming my service) and their lack of service that I paid for upfront. There is absolutely no customer service or interest. If you call the customer service number you talk to someone who can not solve any problems. Only repeat to you what fields on a computer screen say what. I would recommend you use anyone but TruGreen for these reasons.
