Terminix is the worst company by far I have ever dealt with. Please do not use them, look for a different pest control company. Last weekend they were supposed to show up. I took everything out of all my cabinet and all of my rooms and they never showed up. I called and rescheduled again for this Saturday. They were supposed to show up between 10 and 12. Now at 2pm they call me and tell me they're not coming out until Monday now that all my things are out for the second time. Now I will have to put everything back and take it out for a third time and the technician is not going to show up at the end. When I spoke to the technician over the phone he was trying to pull more money out of me before he showed up. This is ridiculous. I am five months pregnant, have two small children and this is taking a toll on me. I haven't even started the service with them and I already know that this is going to end up being a bad experience. Please do not deal with Terminix. Look for a better pest Control company because I am and if I could rate a zero I would.

We suspected some termite in our house. We called and made an appointment for Friday Sept 19, 14 between the hours of 2PM and 5PM. They never showed up. I had to asked my cleaning lady to stay at my house to let them in and had to pay her. I called to complain next morning but the customer service rep was so rude and unhelpful. We made another appointment for Friday Sept 25, 14 at 5 to 7 PM. They again didn't show up. Their service is beyond horrible. We ended up calling another company.

Terminix is notorious for charging for services never delivered or poorly preformed and mischarges AND Terminix costs more, BUT instead of showing up each month, they show up every 3 months and do a rush job. I just won a fight with TERMINIX SERVICE MANAGER, RON **, WHOM IS IN-CHARGE OF PHILADELPHIA, AND SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY. Turned Terminix to the the BBB, Better Business Bureau for services never delivered and finally won a refund along with BS excuses and a false apology from Ron **. There have been government actions against this New Jersey and Philadelphia franchise. Terminix reached an agreement to resolve 31 complaints filed with the New Jersey Division of Consumer and Terminix entered into an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance with the Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Under terms of the settlement Terminix admits no wrongdoing and agrees to issue full refunds, which means that this Terminix franchise was so corrupt that it essentially pleaded no contest and agreed to pay back customers it had rip offed to avoid further court costs.

Terminix seems to have little to no control over their franchises and Service Managers have little to no supervision. Usually Service Managers are the only people who can fix bills, allow a clearly deserved refund, or even send legal confirmation of a refund, or even allow legal cancellation of services. Service Managers act like they own their franchises and continue to rip customers with impunity. For any problem no matter how big or small, Terminix will typically tell customers they have to talk to their Service Manager who has no obligation to call anyone back. Service Managers can rip customers off at will by charging for services never delivered, botched jobs, or whatever. There are a few ways customers are usually ripped off, technicians often try to avoid spraying to save on costs and they spend too little or even no time on scheduled appointments (just signing off that work was done without even going to an address), and mischarges to your credit card that they refuse to refund.

Here in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey the big problem is the Service Manager, Ron **, refuses to deal with or help customers. A few Customer Service reps were supportive and sympathetic but they had no pull whatsoever, while some other reps were rude and unprofessional. Terminix HQ in Memphis and Call Centers even left messages requesting Ron ** call us. We wanted at the very least confirmation (letter or email) that Ron ** would not bill us again. Ron ** would not even return calls or emails to Terminix. FYI, I included Ron ** original LinkedIn photo. Most people use professional pics; however Ron ** chose to go with a fuzzy, grainy, bad night shot red-eyed pic wearing a tank top. Ron changed his photo only after Terminix had to deal with BBB, Better Business Bureau complaints. WHY TERMINIX SERVICE DEALS LOOK REALLY BAD ON PAPER? Quite simply most pest control companies make more frequent visits, have technicians spend more time per visit, spray more and offer more services per visit.

Most pest control companies will send someone each month to spray inside/outside and offer possibly yard treatments. Terminix instead usually offers to charge more to come out only once every three months. They typically do a bad rushed job and try avoiding ever going inside. Terminix technicians usually try to spend less than 15 minutes per appointment. Even if the Terminix contract requires more and the representatives at the Terminix Call Center promised more, their techs deliver less and usually so as little as possible. OUR PROBLEMS WITH TERMINIX - Peter **, Terminix Technician. We paid extra for an initial one time indoor spraying. Our house was empty having just moved in with no furniture and all the rooms empty and wide open. This should have been the easiest spray ever with free clear access to all the walls and baseboards. Peter **, Terminix technician acknowledged he was supposed to spray inside all rooms and the attic. Instead he refused to even look at the rooms in the house.

We asked why he refused to spray inside and he kept making excuses telling us that usually don't spray inside anymore calling spraying inside Spray and Pray. This made no sense. We were being charged for was indoor treatments. We then called a Terminix Call Center and told them, that we still wanted our inside treatment that we had paid for and to never send Peter ** back. The Call Center apologized and was baffled as were we that he would not spray inside. They agreed to send a new guy out and never have Peter return. Terminix sent Peter out again. This time he was even more useless than before and seemed to be lying twice as much. He still refused to go upstairs where the bathrooms and bedrooms were and anytime I asked him to spray anything like the garage he lied and said he had already taken care of it the time before, which wasn't really possible because the garage had been closed and there was a closed gate around it.

Called Terminix back a third time and asked why they sent him back again. Again Terminix said they would send someone new to do the job right and again they sent Peter. This time I just told him to go away. After giving Terminix three chances to do a simple basic service, we asked to cancel our contract and to be given a refund. Terminix offers is usually a laughably bad deal when compared to most other local pest control company services. Even if Terminix services are competent elsewhere if you are in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey area you are receiving the services offered by Service Manager Ron ** and not what the Terminix ads, or the Terminix Call Centers promise.

Terminix is all about the bottom line: MONEY. Here are some examples:

    * As a former service manager, I can tell you that pesticides are rationed according to how well the branch is doing financially (so, for example, many times your pest control technician doesn't have enough pesticides to properly treat your problem because it's not cost effective for the branch to buy the stuff) * It's all about dollars per hour. Every single morning, the branch manager meets with his service managers about how the pest control technicians did the previous day in terms of time spent on service calls vs. dollars earned. If a technician spends too much time at your house, the managers will know it. When I was a manager, we wanted to see a technician spend no more than 15 minutes per service call. This, of course, is not at all sufficient. It takes at least 15 minutes just to inspect the premises for pest problems, let alone treating any infestations

    * The technicians are improperly trained. There is such a high rate of technician turnover at Terminix that new employees are rushed through the pest control and safety "training". This mainly consists of watching a bunch of videos. Then, the new technicians will be tutored on exactly what is on the pest control certification test required by the state. They will be taught, in essence, how to beat the test but they won't really know anything about pest control when it's over. A popular saying among Terminix service managers is that their pest control technicians take the "spray and pray" approach to pest control. You don't want that. You want someone who knows how to identify pests and their behaviors before determining the best way to get rid of them.

    * Termite sales people are taught how to mislead you, scare you and otherwise suggest that you have termites in order to get you to pay large amounts of money to treat the "termite infestation" that you allegedly have. If a Terminix sales person says you have termites, call a second company and tell them that Terminix said that you have termites and you want another opinion. The second company will likely tell you the truth if Terminix is lying- mainly because every pest control company hates Terminix. We used to have sales people that took live termites to people's houses, hidden in a jar and show then show them to the customer as proof that they had a problem. Totally unethical.

    * Don't buy the Sentricon termite bait stations. It's a waste of money and it is not at all effective. They do not draw termites to them- the only termites that get in there are the ones that happen to be burrowing right near the bait stations. Other termites could just as easily be drawn to the wood of your house. It's a scam.

    * Always - ALWAYS - be home when Terminix pays you a service call. They will try to convince you to take the service when you're not home. Don't let them. The technician will come there, do nothing, sign the paperwork and put it in your door.

    * When you cancel your account, get it in writing. If necessary, drive to the branch location and make the customer service rep give you a copy of the canceled contract. Terminix is notorious for continuing service, saying it was a misunderstanding and then sending you to collection when you refuse to pay for service that you did not want because you had already been assured that your account was cancelled. Area managers and Branch managers are encouraged and shown how to, refuse to compensate you for any damages your house incurs from termites- even though you are supposedly covered under their "guarantee". In short, Terminix is not only the most unethical company I have ever had the displeasure of working for, but they are well known to their competitors in the pest control industry as being the most underhanded company out there. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!

They got their money and when I called them to come and remove the dead rodents in the attic, they didn't show up. I called them 7 times telling them the dead rodents smelled and there were maggots and flies everywhere. they said they would come and remove them but they never did.

I am writing to voice my frustration at the pathetic nature of your service. I called Terminix in mid-August to help with the bed bugs in my home. Ken ** came over and scheduled my service for 8/12/2014. I paid $100 and we scheduled the appointment. However, something came up and I had to reschedule for the next day, 8/13/2014. The technician who came in was Terrance **. After providing the service I made the remainder of the payment to him, and he confirmed that my payment was complete. He told me that he had scheduled my next service appointment for one week out, or on 8/20/2014.

No one showed up on 8/20/2014 and I called up to see what the problem was, and I was told that there was no appointment in the system! The agent I spoke to told me that someone from scheduling would call me within 24 to 48 hours and make an appointment for the next service date. Again, no one called me to make an appointment. I filled out a survey and provided all this information in the survey and only after that someone called me and made an appointment for 8/28/2014. This time the technician who came in was James **. After the service he told me that he has scheduled the next service on 9/11/2014.

Again no one came. So I called again on 9/12/2014 and asked the agent who answered the phone what the problem was. She told me that there was no appointment made for 9/11/2014 for my address. She did not know why this was the situation. I explained to her that something like this had happened before, and asked if I could speak to the manager and she said that he was not available. I asked for the manager's phone number and she said she did not have it. She was gracious enough to give me his name, which is Jeff **. When I asked if the phone number to reach him is 630-585-2440, she said yes, that was the number. It was obvious that she knew the number but did not want to give it to me.

She said that Jeff would call me within the next 24 to 48 hours. I asked her if something could be done to expedite the call, since my service was overdue, and she said that was not possible. Then, while I was still talking to her about the frustration, she abruptly hung up on me! I should have written her name down, but I am afraid I didn't. I am sure it could be found out. I hope you recorded the call and do use it for training purposes.

This kind of service and behavior is not expected from a company of your reputation. The service technicians are interested in getting out of the house by telling lies about scheduling next service appointments. The scheduling department has no idea of scheduled appointments, and the customer service personnel are simply rude. No one knows what is going on and no one knows who can get the job done. Everyone is just waiting to pass the blame on to the next person.

Jeff ** did not call within 48 hours. I went to Terminix.com and wrote to the support desk twice. No one responded to the messages and no one acknowledged that my messages were looked at. I called back again on 9/17/2014 and spoke to someone called Colletta this time. She said there was no record in the system that I had called on 9/12/2014. She listened to what I had to say and said that she had put everything into the system and that someone would definitely call me to schedule the appointments. She said that she noted the fact that I was not satisfied with their service and that a manager should call me within 48 hours. Today is 9/21/2014 and I am still waiting to get a call back.

I wanted to provide this feedback to you about the kind of service that is being provided by people working in your reputed company. I hope you care about this. I have paid for the service in full, and I expect the entire service to be completed without me having to constantly be running after you and your various departments. Thank you.

Terminix' pest service was fine. However, they told me that a 1 year contract included 4 quarterly services and unlimited re-services. However, they have insisted on billing me an additional $88 for a fifth service that was provided during the contract year. I have written letters and called them and the communication on their end is terrible - I have now spoken with people twice - neither of whom knew that I had previously left messages and sent reply letters. They have threatened to turn me into collections if I don't pay and for $88 it is not worth continuing the fight although I'm a lawyer and I know they wouldn't have a chance in court. I will definitely tell other prospective customers not to do business with Terminix.

On 9/18/2014 I received a requested visit from Terminix to battle the spider problem in my home. I have a premature infant and a three year old, so having pests around is a big No-No. I do share the home with my roommate who actually owns the home and my family and I are divided in the house with her, though she feels the same disgust for pests in the home and split the costs fifty-fifty. During the visit the technician was off the bat, "very weird" according to my husband (I was out running errands) and made a threatening comment about the hookahs upstairs in my roommate's room and correlated with a following remark about my children. First of all, how dare he think he has the right to come into my home servicing me and make such a bold assumption about the well-being of my kids. I challenge ANY and ALL to come into my home and refute that, my kids are my life and world and I take very much pride in their upbringing in such a lovely and secure household, my kids will NEVER be without and will ALWAYS be put first and away from harm.

I'm beyond disgusted by this technicians lack of tact and violation of privacy, had his IQ been a little higher he may have noticed the LARGE baby gate dividing the house away from said activities that my roommate partakes in, in HER room, including a locked door. To suggest in a threatening tone that he "hopes no one smokes their hookah, because of the kids" is beyond violating to the well-being of my household and in fact, threatening to my very home. Is anyone even aware of what they could be doing to parents when they make such assumptions and presumptuously act on it? I've driven to my premature son in the NICU for the past 95 days only to miss a few days due to my mother's passing, and what you could possibly put me through, based on your ignorance, is the equivalent to hell and I'm beyond offended and disgusted with the said encounter, questioning my parenting skills and ability to preserve the well-being of my offspring. You may as well have come into my home and slapped me clear across my face. I will stop at nothing to bring this extreme violation of privacy to light and hopefully in the future prevent any more disgusting encounters.

He never left his name on the invoice (smart move) and there is no written order number, however I've requested to speak with his supervisor and they have notified that they will be contacting me within 48 hours. That only gives me more time to file as many complaints as I can about this, keep in mind that Jeffrey Dahmer himself, installed security devices in homes and I now feel that my life is being threatened by this man that even my husband said he received an uncomfortable presence with. I will be demanding a full refund and a formal apology. Shame on you Terminix for treating this so lightly, when your services have left such a daunting impact on my home. This guy has ALL of my information, he knows where my children sleep, he knows where I live, my credit information, EVERYTHING, and I don't even know his first name, yet he's the one threatening me. I've been left with more than a bad taste in my mouth, I've been shaken to the core and even feel it is appropriate and even detrimental to notify the police regarding this encounter to furthermore secure my household.

I have used Terminix for quite a few years. I asked that they treat my house for spiders, mice and bees. They told me to get an annual contract etc. I did so. On more than one occasion I have had them say that they have come to treat my property but because I was not home they could only service the outside. Twice now I have purposefully stayed home on the scheduled service day and now both times I rec'd an email with invoice stating service was provided. GUESS WHAT?? No one ever showed up and today is the last straw.

My contractors were here from 6 am until 5:10 pm and I took off from work specifically to speak to Terminix to spray for bees today as my contractors would be working the roofline and several hives have been spotted. My invoice states that the service was provided from 3:58 pm to 4:17 pm for the whole foundation of my property and to add insult to injury the service was to target carpenter ants. I have never had a carpenter ant problem. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they would contact me within the hour. My question, How many times have I paid for services that never took place?

You will not believe what this company put myself and family through. On 9/5/2014 I had a inspector come to my home because I was being bit. The inspector showed me what he believed to be the shell of a bed bug on my small couch. Mind you I live on 5 acres in the woods and this could easily been mistaking for a beetle or any other bug. Because this guy is a professional I believed him when he told me I had bed bug. I signed a contract with him for 1500.00 to have my house exterminated that following Monday. I gave him a check for 320.00 down and 117.00 a month for 12 months. Not to mention I am 6 1/2 months pregnant and have 2 small children, 6 and 10.

This past weekend we had to literally pack our entire house in to construction size trash bags and place them in the garage and wash all clothes and live out of totes in my basement. The man comes to my home on Monday and does another inspection before he treats my home for bed bugs. Come to find out we have no bed bugs. Not only do we have no bed bugs this man told me that he wouldn't not be honest with us and we are young couple and with a new baby coming. This is not right. He told me to call and cancel this service. Which I did that same Monday.

In the mean time for peace of mind I called another pest control company Orkin. I paid 95.00 for other home inspection, to find out in fact there are NOT bed Bugs in my house! Mind you we stayed in a hotel with my children and animals Monday night because our house was to be exterminated and we could not be there for 4-6 hours after. (The hotel was booked on sat) By Monday it was too late to cancel the hotel as my cc was already charged. As you could image my entire life has been in scrambles over this in the past week. The stress this company has put on me and my family not to mention my unborn child is UNREAL and UNACCEPTABLE 100%!

I will write a review on every single web I can to be sure this message gets around to everyone! I should go more in detail with names but I will not! Not to MENTION I CANCELED MY CONTRACT AND THEY STILL CASHED MY CHECK! YUP, CASHED MY CHECK AFTER I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT!

We signed up with Terminix several years ago just for termite protection. That went well. We later signed up for pest control due to ants and bees. This is the worst service ever!! They came out the first time to spray for pests a few months ago, and they said, "If anything pops up later, call and we'll stop by and spray, no charge to you!" Sounds great right? Well we did have to call a few weeks later because small bugs and ants seem to be popping up everywhere. The call we made was on a Saturday morning when we woke to find the ants all over the cat's dish.

So I called that morning to the main office that handled our city. The woman that answered the phone was so rude. I told her our problem, and she said if she sends someone out we would have to pay for the full service we get every 3 months since it was 2 weeks away from that day, even though this was considered the visit that would be no charge if more bugs came back, which they did! He did not kill all of them on his first visit! I argued that point, then she rudely told me she could not get anyone out at all for 30 days!

After 15 minutes of trying to explain our problem, she put me on hold for 15 minutes, came back on and said she would have someone here in about in a few hours. He finally showed up and placed powder by our sliding glass door to keep out the ants until our next full service visit. That was all he did! On his way out the door he said we would not be charged for this visit. We had a credit balance that they took for the full service visit for that day when all he did was place insecticide by the door, that he said there would be no charge for, and now it will be November until the next full service visit!

We've tried calling but were left on hold for a long time, we never did get anyone to talk to at all! We will be cancelling our service, but also feel they owe us money they took for the free visit to take care of a few ants without telling us that it would be 3 more months which would be the regular 3 month service visit which includes spraying for everything not just putting powder down for a few ants!!! We feel we have been ripped off and nobody really cares about our problem!!

I have been working for this money making corporation (used to be a pest control company) for several years now and I can't wait until my wife gets her masters so I can tell them to come pick up their truck. It's September and just finishing up August with over 200 services, I found that my paycheck will be $700 less than it was two months ago just because several people had to cancel their contracts due to a $4-$9 increase or either they didn't need an obligated quarterly service. Usually because I have taken care of the problem. If you call with a pest problem, customer care agents will set up a quarterly service that the service techs will be obligated to complete each month it's due. If an customer skips a service, reschedules to the next month or chooses to cancel, the technician gets a severe pay penalty. I hope this gets taken care of soon. This problem is worse than having someone in another state plan our routes. I like this work but sometimes I feel like the corporation just gets over on us workers who scrounge just to make ends meet.

When I asked about the safety of my pets coming into contact with the pesticides I was told that it was safe. I didn't believe him of course but felt it to be ignorant, irresponsible and dangerous for the company to teach the technician this and to not remove any food and water sources for pets and other animals before spraying.

I cancelled our Terminix service in June, as we were moving on July 15th. I was told by the representative that they would take care of it. We moved on July 15th, and then I got an e-mail on August 14th to schedule my next service. I immediately called and told them that I had moved, and that I had cancelled our service. The representative cancelled our services, and told me that she could not give me a confirmation number or e-mail, but that I should not worry, that my service had been cancelled. Then, on August 19th, I was billed for services. I called on August 26th, was on hold for almost 45 minutes, was told that I was being unreasonable, and treated with terrible customer service by both the representative and her supervisor.

I will never use this company again, which is too bad, since our bug guy was amazing. I don't feel this company is trustworthy, and has questionable business practices. Not being able to provide a receipt for cancellation of services is not acceptable for a business of this size. I would strongly discourage anyone from signing a contract with this company.

I paid for a year of service UPFRONT and cancelled my policy prior to my year ending. I was billed an additional 110.00. I am now on my 4th phone call to the company who have provided multiple different reasons for why this might have happened. From unauthorized service performed (but they couldn't explain what) to auto renewal charge for monthly clients (I reminded them I had paid the full year upfront) to billing error phone call #3 which ended with a no problem, so sorry about that - it will be removed. And now phone call number #4 in which I was told that the notes from the previous phone calls did not say any of the above, and they will send it to billing but it takes 72 hours for a response.

I guess once you sign up for Terminix the only 100% guarantee you get is that it is impossible to leave. So frustrated!!! Who has the time to make 4-5 phone calls to end a service. Think twice before going with Terminix - with so many other choices why deal with the incredibly incompetent billing and customer service department. UGH!!

I think the new Terminix policy is not to return customer calls. After finding termites at my home, it took over four weeks and several phone calls to get them out here. Their new pest and snake control program is a joke that costs $400. No results. They will not even return calls to come get their so-called sticky plates and useless rat traps they call snake traps. I have been a Terminix customer for 50 years, but I am dropping them this year.

Ants. Lots of them. Called Terminix to sched first visit and establish a regular contractual svc. First apt was in less than 24 hours. Great service guy. 7 days later, even more ants. Went online to register, and filled out form for supplemental appt. Revised sched to be home during their apt window. They were a no show. Called the next morning. Rep saw that we had an appt that was not fulfilled. She found the next apt for me, which was for 6 days later! That is the best she could do after I nearly begged. So I ended the call, and called back and got another rep who found me an appt for the following day. Service guy came out, sprayed with a different, more effective mystery solution. Asked us to wait a week or so to see the ants go away. That was about 10 days ago.

This morning, literally hundreds of ants swarming the entry, hallway, and dozens of them in the kitty food bowl. Called Terminix, was offered an appt in three days. I asked for something better - explaining that they treat prospective customers better than existing customers. She agreed. :-) But she could not find a better appt so she offered for a supervisor to call me. That never happened, so I called back and cancelled. Even that was difficult, as the cancellation rep would not listen to what I asked for (to stop billing us).

Bottom line: the svc was not effective. It took too many hours on the phone to try to schedule add'l visits, and they treat prospective customers with more favor than existing. I will find another pest control company to service our home.

On the advice of our real estate agent, we had another company inspect the home and they found termites and dry rot. When we told Terminix, they said they would have to do their own inspection at a cost (The other company, Antimite, did not charge for the inspection) and after the inspection we received a quote for nearly $5,000.00 for Terminix to do the job. Terminix states "Terminix, the industry-leading company with 80 years of experience and the strongest guarantee in the pest control business. All of us at Terminix are ready to go above and beyond to show you what Ultimate Protection really means." After several calls which were not answered, I received a call at 8:00PM to verify if the crew had completed the tent, I indicated no and I was on my way to the hotel as my house was already pulled apart for the treatment and the hotel paid. I was told the crew would still come and work till midnight to get the job done. I declined for safety reasons of a crew walking on my roof in the dark and my home owners insurance should someone get hurt and also damage to my roof walking on the tiles in the dark. I requested first service the next day, crew showed up at 11:30 without calling, with no ladder to access my roof (I provided my ladder to get started). The gas came with the supervisor at about 2:30 pm, at this point I was still calm. The supervisor entered my home with the circulating fans and started moving my furniture at which time he broke an special vase of my wife. I requested he leave my property as at this time I was livid.

The task continued with the crew breaking the tiles on my walkway, trampling my plants that were not in the way and wasting my water running down the sidewalk two houses. The all clear was scheduled for 8:00 pm the next day. When I tried to ascertain status, I received a text message from a supervisor "I am away with my wife by 8:00pm", the individual arrived at 9:10 pm. So to summarize I lost a day and a half from work, my wife a day, extra night at the hotel, broken vase, damaged roof, damaged plants, damaged walkway. I requested adjustment on the charges which were agreed to on the phone but still to be finalized, will call today to initiate. Our house was cleared for termites by Terminix under the previous owner. I called them about a snake. That's a wildlife package. But a pest control tech shows up. He says I have carpenter ants in the wood around my house. So I set up a pest control contract. Then an hour or so later, a termite tech shows up for a "free" consultation. He claims we don't have carpenter ants. We have termites. He claims pest control doesn't know anything about termites. So he calls his supervisor, cancels the first contract and promises my account won't be charged for the first visit.

We started a termite contract. Great. Except they did take the money out of my account, and refused to cancel the contract, or attempt to contact the second tech who promised it was all taken care of. They contacted the first tech of course who vigorously defended his misdiagnosis. Now I have two contracts with Terminix, and a battle on my hands.

On June 23, we had our house tented for termites. A little stressful, but no problem. We decided to make a weekend out of the inconvenience, packed up and spent 3 days in Fort Myers. We were on our way home, about an hour and a half out of town when we got the phone call. We were thinking it was our Service Rep giving us the all clear to return home. Wrong. It was the Service Rep, but he was calling to let us know our house "may have been robbed". He explained that the third party company they contracted our service to had been to the house to find the door OPEN. It looked "like some items had been taken". I called my dad to get to the house before we could be there.

When we finally got home, after the worst hour and half drive of our lives, we found only my dad and a sheriff's deputy (which we are grateful for). There wasn't a representative from the third party or from Terminix. Our house was robbed. All of my jewelry, my mom's laptop and a plasma TV were taken as well as a small safe containing spare car keys, social security cards and birth certificates. I started making phone calls immediately. I found out the name of the third party company (who Terminix "exclusively" uses in the West Palm Beach area) and the name of the person in charge of our fumigation. I googled this guy and found out he's a CONVICTED FELON. His most recent arrest was in February of this year!!!

In Feb, he tried to fraudulently pawn items that didn't belong to him. (BTW I understand "presumed innocent until proven guilty", but police records are public information and he's CONVICTED.) Ironically, his name is on my police report along with his statement that the "regulatory system states that a house key is always on property", even though we were assured the key would be removed from the property and secured. The "half key" they use to jam the locks was also improperly used.

I called the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to ask about the key needing to be left on the premises. There is no regulation about leaving the key unsecured on the premises. I have filed a complaint against the third party company. I called Terminix Executive Services for days before I talked to anyone. It took weeks for someone to call me back. I did get a hold of our Service Rep. He came to the house and tried to offer some consolation. Since he talked to us, he's been fired from Terminix. Terminix refuses to acknowledge the robbery at all, which is fine. My problem (and biggest concern) with Terminix is that they gave the key to my home to a convicted felon and put a big tent over the house to hide any wrongdoing.

After several emails and phone calls, I finally heard back from the Area Manager. He told me this "is a police matter" and that there will be no refund. We paid $1600 for our house to be robbed. I, like most of you who have posted here, thought that a company with 80 years' experience would be reliable and trustworthy. They have proven to be neither. It's been over a month of unnecessary stress and frustration.

Back in the fall of 2013 (October I believe), I called Terminix from my old residence to come spray for spiders. I was helped immediately, and the person I spoke with was able to tell me which package worked for our needs. Once I decided on one, I let her know we would pay the full amount at that time. She informed me of a discount and took my payment. She told me they would come out quarterly to spray and that we could call if we wanted extra services.

The first 2 or 3 times things were fine, they came out and within 20 minutes they were done. So, we sold our home in February of this year, and by April we had moved into our current residence. I received an e-mail that our quarterly service was coming so I called them to let them know we no longer lived at the old address. When I called, I said I knew that I had paid for the service but we had moved. I didn't know if we could leave it at the old residence or did I need to cancel. The girl I spoke with said, "NO, you don't need to cancel! You have already paid for your service and we can just transfer the service from the old residence to the new residence."

Of course, I figured, why not? I DID already pay for it. If I can transfer it, I should at least get what I paid for. So she went and changed the information for the account (or so I thought) and we rescheduled the man to come to the new home. He did come, in May. My husband and I were both home. He did the usual and was very nice as always, then left.

A few weeks later, my husband and I were out shopping one Saturday afternoon. My husband received a call; which was weird first because I get the calls. BUT he received a call from someone saying that they were on their way to the home??? My husband turn to me and said, "They are spraying again, he said we called"!?!? I had not called (and my husband would never call on his own). I said, "No, they're confused. We didn't need any service." So my husband relayed the information to the man on the phone and he said OK. He did not go to the house that day. A few weeks later we went on vacation. When we returned there was a Terminix receipt on our door, only this one had a price tag of around $100???? We didn't' need any extra service. Why would they come without calling us anyway?

See, clearly there was a lack of communication, and when I called to discuss it with them, I had THE WORST, MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, DRONE on the phone I have ever had to deal with. The point I was calling about soon became null and void because she proceeded to talk over me, to correct me, to TELL ME WHAT I WAS TOLD... and now that I'm infuriated by this "worker", I asked 3 different times to speak with SOMEONE who could help me sort out my issues. She ignored me at first, then told me that she couldn't get anyone so she would have them "call me back"....

SHOCKINGLY, I never received that call. I had to wait a few days, and last Saturday I called again. This time, I was fortunate enough to speak with a real, intelligent person who was understanding and actually pretty nice. She took in all that I said and said she would send an email to her boss... who never got back to me. SO if this shady company wants to BILL me for something I didn't ask for, they should at least have the nerve to call me back... I will NOT pay for something I didn't' ask for and I will continue to call and email and post until something is done about not only the bill but their disgusting customer service team.

I hired Terminix of Tampa, FL in June of 2014. I was told the tenting process would take three days total. Day one the tent would go up and the chemical Vicane administered according to a formula that would determine the amount of chemical needed for the square footage of the entire structure. Day two the tent would remain on the house for at least 18 to 24 hours. Day three the tent would be removed and the house aired out of all harmful chemicals (Vicane and tear gas) and ready for reentry. They showed up late with a truck load of men in a truck that said nothing about Terminix. Well, six days later the house was finally cleared for reentry. Yes, six days later. First was the evident incompetence of the man who was there to meet me on day six to allow me reentry into my property. They had installed in all the door locks. A lockout key meant to keep anyone from being able to enter.

While removing the keys one was broken off inside the door lock rendering it useless. I was told that I would be called and new door locks would be installed at the expense of Terminix. Nothing, no call, letter or anything. The six day period that it took to get back in my house forced me to postpone a floor installation which would not get completed for two weeks solely due to them. This was a rental property so now I was losing money on a house sitting there vacant unable for a tenant to move in. I called the Corporate Headquarters located in Memphis, TN and was told all of my concerns would be promptly dealt with. Still nothing to this day about two months later. I would advise anyone considering a tent to look carefully elsewhere. I advise you not to call Terminix. Very Unhappy Customer in Tampa, Florida. Boooo Terminix. :(

We have been customers for 6 years for both quarterly pest control as well as annual termite inspections & service... But are cancelling both contracts today. I have had several complaints over the years.

    1. They went into our backyard. I asked them to spray inside our shed and in cabinets under bbq because spiders get in there a lot. In one of the cabinets under bbq we keep our stereo equipment because we have speakers throughout our yard and we spend a lot of time in our yard and like to play music out there... They literally sprayed their chemicals all over the stereo receiver and my iPod. I called to complain and the person told me to "next time make sure that you let the tech know that you don't want your electronic items sprayed"... REALLY??? I actually need to say that???? I just thought that would be obvious.

2nd... I have ALWAYS scheduled my services at a time that I will be at home so I can bring my dog inside and not allow him to be exposed to chemicals... Terminix shows up late (or doesn't show up at all...without even giving the customer the courtesy of a phone call to let them know so they don't have to sit and wait for them)... They come into the yard and spray chemicals with my dog back there...and I know that my dog would follow him around walking right through the fresh wet chemicals and getting them all over his paws.

Despite what Terminix claims is their POLICY...(not to spray chemicals around pets), they do it all the time... I have called Terminix on numerous occasions telling them that they sprayed with my dog in the backyard again... They have told me numerous times that they will add a note in my file stating that customer doesn't want any spraying with dog around...and even with all the notes that they claim to have put in as well as their own policy of not doing it...they continue to do it. If they would only show up at their scheduled time...this would not be an issue...but they also don't seem to understand or respect the concept of "appointments".

3rd. I have had several scheduled appointments where I am left waiting for their 2-hour time window where they never show up...or call to let me know. Each time after their time window has expired, I call Terminix asking to speak to a service manager. Apparently, the service manager is NEVER available to take my call but each time they take a message stating that the service manager will call me back. I have NEVER to this day received a call back from a service manager on any of those messages. I called again asking this time to speak to a Branch manager...as it is apparently a waste of time to leave a message for a Service manager... I was told that a Branch manager was also not available... So I asked them to transfer me to the department to cancel both of my service contracts... This got their attention enough to transfer me to the executive offices.

I spoke with a lady named Sandy...she seemed to genuinely listen to my complaint regarding their service and assured me that she would make sure I got a return call from a service manager within 24 hours to discuss a resolution to all my complaints. She told me she was sending detailed notes to the SM about our conversation. I asked her to include in her notes that I need to be called after 2:00 pm (because I get off work at 2:00 and cannot take calls at work) and I asked that I be called on my cell phone (as I would have it with me and turned on after 2:00). I got home to find that the SM had called my house number (not my cell as requested) and called before 12:00 noon (not after 2:00 as requested) and he left a return number, which when I called it the call was routed to Florida and they didn't know who that SM was as he didn't work in Florida...(obviously he wasn't interested in resolving my complaints if he called the wrong number, at the wrong time and left a return number where he can't be reached).

So I called Sandy again from the executive offices to update her with this information...she assured me she would have somebody else call me immediately as I said I wanted to cancel everything unless I get resolution quickly. It has been a full week and I still haven't gotten that phone call that was supposed to happen "immediately". Terminix clearly does not care about their customers...I guess they feel they are so big and have so many that it doesn't phase them to lose one here and another one there...

I noticed a small object on my bed and suspected it to be a bed bug. I have never experienced bed bugs and of course I would not know what to look for. I informed the property coordinator that I believe that I had bed bugs and I informed him that I did not have them before I moved to Foxfire Apts in Durham NC. He informed me that I could not prove my claims and he would have someone to look at the apartment Monday after the 4th of July weekend. No one showed up or called to schedule an appointment. I attended my appointed group session on Wednesday and of course the exterminator showed up when I was not home (how convenient!!!).

I went to the rental office and asked another property coordinator who interrupted the conversation and she said that the exterminator looked at the apartment earlier in the day. She told me that I will be charged $385.00 dollars for the service. I told that I could not afford that all at once and that was a lot of damn money. She told me that the payments cold be broken with installment payments at the amounts of $128.00 dollars a month. She handed me a piece of paper with instructions and a notice of a possible noncompliance fee of $75.00 if procedures were not met. She also had me sign a form.

Thinking that it was all taken care of I was surprised to hear in my voice mail a message on June 16th from a Judy that I was scheduled for a "requested service" on June 17th between 10-12 PM. THIS PERSON DID NOT BOTHER TO LEAVE A CALL BACK NUMBER.

So I called your "866" number to figure out what is going on and spoke to a Sierra, again in Florida... who then told me that my June 23rd appointment did not exist. I asked why and she could not explain, maybe because it takes 48 hours to update their system... WHAT!!!!!! SO ok both in Florida but not in the system... hmmmmm. So each of this people taking schedules must have their own independent laptop somewhere?????

So anyways, on June 17th someone actually came to the house and I got a message on my voice mail again that evening that they missed me..... HELLO! Your system just wasted one of your employees' time... did I just not schedule this on the 23rd of June from the very first time? AGAIN the person that left the message... DID NOT LEAVE A CALL BACK NUMBER!!! What is with that???? So Sierra requested that my June 23rd be "reinstated"... so OK... I requested a call back to confirm from the person or offices that will be coming to my house on the 23rd of June.... NO CALLS. It is June 22nd.

So here I am again calling because I am using my vacation time to be waiting at home.... Well this time... a Kayla from Florida answered and yes I was scheduled for June 23rd... Tomorrow... between 1 and 3 PM..... WHAT DID I JUST REQUEST??? AND I WAS TOLD JUST NOW THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE 8-10 AM TIME AVAILABLE ANYMORE... GREAT!!!! SO tomorrow will be spent waiting for Terminix to come and I am not able to work in the afternoon. GREAT!!! AND I still have to see if they even show up... And "PLEASE" do not leave your "866" or "800" number when you TERMINIX call because no one really knows what is going on with scheduling... why do you even have a centralized number????

I left several calls and no one has returned my calls. Even complained to corporate office and they said that it would take 48 hours for the Area Manager to contact me regarding my keys. I would never recommend anyone to Terminix. I plan on calling Help me Howard.

My 76 year old mother discovered that she had bed bugs the same day she found out that she had some serious health issues. My sister (from another state) called and scheduled an appointment with Terminix, because we needed prompt attention due to the fact we did not need them to spread throughout the house because she would be having daily treatments. Terminix came out, instructed us to strip one bedroom where they did find a total of 12 bugs, and we have received a bill of $2,040.00. We weren't given an itemized statement and was told that the printer wasn't working at the current time. I have made several calls, explaining that the paper statement that was left was inaccurate and that the handwritten note stated 3 follow up visits were to follow, and none of them were done for various of reasons that each customer service rep. stated.

I also have spoke to a supervisor in which she also has not been helpful. She did however send me the contract by postal mail on 5/21/14 (postmark date) for service that was rendered on 4/15/14. This has caused a lot of hardship on our family mentally, mainly because of my mother's health condition, and we feel like we have been taken advantage of. I'm still in the process of getting the matters resolved, and praying this company stand by its word of: "Satisfaction Guarantee" or our money back, or just charge us for the services that they did.

We had a bee problem. We called them and asked if they could rid us of this problem. They assured us they could, so we agreed to let them come and "exterminate" them. Not only did we have to purchase an entire extermination package for them to agree to get rid of the bees, they failed to get rid of the bees. Some dude came into the garage where the entry point was and began to dust a powder all over. The bees promptly attacked him and he went running up the the street. He didn't have on the bee "hazmat" suit so it makes sense that he had no protection from the bees. They suck at getting rid of bees.

We told them the bees were still here and they came back and re-sprayed with a power spray thing and also threw the dusty stuff about. He said once the bees cleared out from the frenzy that they'd be gone. Nope! Still there and viciously buzzing everywhere. They came out a third time and fourth time and did the process ALL over again, with the running and epic "loserism" of the incompetent buffoon they sent out.

After a few days, all the bees were STILL there and buzzing all over the place. They didn't charge for all the extra visits, and said they'd send the man BACK out again, but we realized they'd never get rid of the bees ad his visits were becoming annoying. Essentially, they didn't get rid of the problem and said they could and we paid them for the "exterminating" they didn't do. Should have known a business named "Terminix" could not rid us of a bee problem. But they lied to us so they could take our money.

I was also paying $225 a year for continued termite maintenance. 2 years later, I saw the mud tubes continued to grow in my shed so I called Terminix. They gave me a very hard time to come out again and argued that my shed wasn't covered but there it was in my contract, which included a footprint drawing of my home with the linear footage. After much back-and-forth and much additional damage, they finally completed the job they should have done 2 years earlier. Unacceptable!

ON QUARTERLY MAINTENANCE: I paid $80 a quarter for someone to walk around my house with a flashlight and basically not do anything. I had a moth issue but every time they came, they would never bring moth traps. They would tell me that they didn't have it on the truck but would pick them up and drop them back off, but they would never do anything about it. They also said they couldn't do anything about spider, which I'm terribly allergic to spider bites. I had to buy my own spider spray. They were only useful one time, which is when they removed a wasp nest.

A few months later, I noticed my carpet in the bedroom was rolling. The flooring under the carpet was buckling. We now have this problem in the hall, 2 of the 3 bedrooms, and the living room. It looks like we are going to have to have the carpet pulled up, new flooring put down and new carpet installed. Not happy about this. Thinking about having all the vents unsealed before the new flooring is put down. Evidently our house has now dried out too much.

A few months ago I discovered live termites in my home. I have had a repair or replace contract with Terminix for about 25 years. They came and inspected and confirmed the infestation. It took them about six weeks to approve my claim. On April 13, 2014, a Terminix contractor crew showed up to begin repairs. While the crew was there, a Terminix Manager called me and said they would only pay one third of the cost of the repair because there had also been some water damage.

The water damage was minor and the termites ate the damaged wood along with the other wood. I told them that termite didn't come from heaven, but rather from the earth, so the minor water damage at the ceiling was not why the termites came. Terminix inspectors have come to my house for 25 years for annual inspections and they never found evidence of termites. Even though there was evidence of minor water damage, it is a fact that their inspectors missed it. I think they should pay the whole bill which is roughly $6000.00.

The 2nd call I got, I let them know the woodpeckers were probably sensing bugs in the walls of my house (per online research I'd done). They required my billing info but said they won't charge unless I want to get the treatment the technician advises (approx $120 every 3 months). The tech (Steve, Puyallup area) came out the following day. I described the woodpecker issue, showed him the damage and he said the only effective treatment would be whole-house fumigation: several thousand dollars - but he was informing me - not try to sell me it.

Each of the other areas of damage, he told me, were not areas of progressive damage, and told me simple steps I could do to resolve the issue, including spiders and mice (my daughter's concerns). Steve told me I would be wasting money hiring him for my problems, which weren't serious (or progressive - my main concern). Even the bees that build nests under the ceiling tiles (3rd story - 30 ft up), he said he could kill, but they don't cause damage and aren't a threat to people that high up... So why bother?

I don't normally write reviews, but after reading some of the negative reviews on this site, I felt this was the best way I could let everyone know there are honest people out there. I'm sure there may be problems with some of the service they deliver due to miscommunication, but I was wishing I could find a reason to hire this guy, Steve... because of his honesty and integrity. He sincerely responded that there were better options to deal with my pests than hire Terminix - Steve in Puyallup, you deserve a raise!!!!

As a result, your lack of consideration and professionalism forced us to miss a very close friend's birthday celebration. We made multiple calls that evening and were told we'd receive a call back; as you well know, we never did.

My wife missed a call from Terminix early on Tue morning advising that someone would be out between 1700 - 1900 that evening. Well that wasn't going to work. That was the same time slot promised for Monday and you folk didn't show. We didn't have a whole lot of confidence you folks wouldn't "no show" once again and not bother to call. I made multiple calls to your worthless call center, got hung up when I told the CSR I wanted to speak to a manager. I never raised my voice, nor used an profanity. Unlike you folks, I was professional..

I wasn't dissuaded. I called back and once again asked to speak to a manager. Finally, at approx. 0823 Tue morning I spoke w/ Danny (Phx call center). He listened to my account of what transpired and I explained that the problem was with the wasps on the roof coming in thru the skylight and the tech was going to need daylight hours to effectively assess and treat the problem. Danny told me the Branch Managers handled all the scheduling and he would have to get hold of them to try to find a better time. He added that he wanted them to hear my complaint. He then put me on hold, as he tried to conference in one of the Branch Managers (Becky or Stuart). Danny apologized that he couldn't reach them, but took down my direct cell (**) and said one of them would call me back . . . which, as you well know, then never did.

I called back a couple of hours later and spoke w/ Larry. He kindly listened to the whole story once again and was also very apologetic. He then explained that it could take up to 24 hrs to get a call back. Not sure why Danny didn't tell me that. Larry again took down my cell phone # and said he'd have one of the branch managers call me back.

I then went to your website and filled out a request to be contacted. I didn't get any response on that until the following day, Wed (response below). Here we are now on Friday and I have yet to hear back from Becky or Stuart. It's obvious at this point that you folks simply don't care about the individual homeowner customer. You've grown into just another national chain - similar to the behemoth Telecoms - and could care less about us. I just wonder if you, Becky or Stuart would feel the same way if this happened to you personally. . . . You're FIRED!!!! You're not the only game in town and I have choices. I just made mine.

I have a rental house up in Ball Ground, GA. I used to live there, and knew there was a rodent issue. So when Terminix, who inherited my termite protection after I moved out had tenants in, mentioned having a pest control service where they would rid the place of rodents I was thrilled and began to pay them a recurring fee via automatic deduction from a credit card. Their guarantee was that they would return as many times a service period as needed, and would return on a scheduled basis to inspect and place traps if needed.

In December 2011, I was cleaning the house between tenants and found droppings in the bathrooms and drawers. I called Terminix and said I was stopping the service as it was clearly not working. They said that my previous tenant did not allow them in the house and that they would come out free of charge and work with my new tenants to make certain it was taken care of. After some thought and conferring with the new tenants we decided to give them another chance. Some rodents were captured and we felt the situation was under control. Terminix continued to charge me and periodically come out.

In July, they told the tenants that there were signs of activity and that they needed to check the trap in the crawlspace(!!) to see if there was more activity. They left extra traps with the tenants, who also had to remove the bodies (I found this out while speaking with my tenants. I was pretty outraged by that attitude compared to the service I receive in my Atlanta home from a different company). I received the September rent with a lot of photos of issues that the tenants had encountered.

One, the most recent issue, really concerned me. They described a smell of mold and mildew in the bathroom. Upon pulling the vanity from the back bathroom (which adjoins the other full bathroom that contains the jetted tub and shower) they saw a hole in the wall. They said that as they stood there, the largest rat they has ever seen walked in, looked at them, and ran out through that hole. There was evidence of major damage in the wall and droppings. He covered the hole and began to bleach the mold.

He went into the other bathroom and removed the panel from the tub, whereupon he was quite knocked out by the horrendous odor of mold and rat urine. The jetted tub had ceased to work at this time as well. Our belief was that the rats had punctured the hoses in the jetted tub, which operate under pressure and sprayed some water out as time went on and the damage increased (but before the tub stopped operating completely) which caused the extensive water damage.

After this was repaired, we found that the rodents had built nests, chewed the wiring in the furnace, and caused carbon monoxide to enter the home, creating a potentially deadly situation. For safety reasons, the technician disabled the furnace. The entire HVAC unit had to be replaced. Facing a bill of nearly 10,000 after all this was done, I contacted them about their guarantee. I was told by several Terminix representatives, including their lawyer, that they cannot guarantee that rodents will not enter the home after their serviceman has left the premises. Their guarantee simply states that they will ensure rodents are removed at that time.

Obviously, this is not what they say in their materials, on the phone, or in their welcome email, which states that they prevent pests from entering the home. In addition, if the technician had actually inspected the property and shone his flashlight into the crawlspace, he would have seen evidence of infestation before it reached this stage and might have prevented such extensive costs.

I would like to start out by saying that i was an employee with Terminix, and was fired yesterday. They told me that my work wasn't getting done over the last couple of months, which is true, I was lacking. Problem is, the reason i was not getting the work done was that i have been battling a gallbladder issue the last couple months, which has caused severe pain, fatigue, nausea, and doctor visits. They knew this.

Another issue is with this. When i trained with this company, i was trained improperly. For one, the training manuals used for the testing were outdated and wrong, the tests i took had many errors, and my trainer was not "honest" about the job or duties. He had once told me that he had a complaint about him from a customer, saying that he had improper safety equipment and was spraying around food. Well, he had told me that the customer went to the Dept of Agriculture and EPA and complained.

He also said that they threw out the claim saying that no safety equipment was required. That was a lie. I have since researched the EPA regulations and labels. These chemicals all require PPE safety equipment including safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and long sleeve shirts. I was instructed not to worry about wearing any such gear while servicing any businesses or residences by my trainer.

Now, i am researching illnesses caused by said chemicals and finding more and people with the symptoms i have. Also, they have instructed me in my job, to tell all my customers that it is safe to treat with our chemicals around anyone while they are present including, children, infants, pets, customers, and of course myself. More and more people are coming forward with complaints about being sick from these pesticides used.

Terminix has lied to both me and put my customers all at risk for the sake of profit. I am now going through a lot of pain and grief due to this gallbladder issue, not to mention constant headaches, nausea, and fatigue all the time. And on top of that, I have no income to pay for the thousands of dollars in expenses to get this treated, and the impending surgery i have to face. And I also had a hit and run on my truck, in which i reported immediately to my former boss. After i told him, he proceeded to yell and swear at me and called me a liar to my face numerous times. I am going forward looking into anything i can.

Well let me just say I have had a friend's personal issue with Terminix. I had a friend who used to work for them. He was a termite technician and basically did all the work for them working many long hours. Not only did he do all the termite jobs, even while running a pest route at the same time, he also did what they are now doing encapsulations. He did every one they sold sometimes by himself. He also did bed bug jobs and roach jobs and well everything. He had never been written up, never been in trouble with the company, nothing.

Few days ago they let him go because they said it was a corporate decision. He showed me the Termination Notice they sent him and it says circumstances leading to Termination is "Reduction in Force." So basically they let go of the one guy who did everything for the branch no matter what, always came to work, never had a sick day. The only thing I can come up with is because he worked so much overtime but he only did what they put on his schedule. He had no control what they put on there. He was averaging 55-65 hours a week and saving up his money to buy a house. Well, he got a house and was closing on it the end of December. Well now he has no job and he could lose the house he just bought only because some bean counter can't see the real picture here.

If you have never done the work, then don't judge the work. He spent 3 days on a house installing crawl space vents in it and he had to chisel and cut concrete and they were upset it took him three days!!! REALLY!!! I was approached by one of Terminix's recruiters saying that my background matched what they were looking for in a territory salesman. I already said no to them about 5-6 months ago because I had a gut feeling about long hours and a bunch of unpaid overtime. I already had a terribly bad experience with my former employer, who (without any written job description) really poured on the unpaid overtime. Well, it did not take too long during my visit at Terminix's Chatsworth office to realize that it was to be the same kind of a slavery job. A young man in his 30's interviewed me and his proposal was a 2,000 a month "draw" against commissions, that seemed fair, but then came the scorcher. A grueling 65-70 hour work week. He explained to me that the draw entitled Terminix to send me out at any time of the day.

Not only was I to run at least 4 estimates minimum daily, it could go as high as 10-20 estimates daily in the busy season. I was also expected to surpass the "draw" each and every month on earned commissions. Also, a minimum of two Saturdays were mandatory, but in the busy season, all four Saturdays were fair game with them. Well I saw it coming about a mile away. Even if I am unemployed at the moment, anyone can see that this work arrangement is Modern Slavery. A clear violation of wage and hour Labor Laws in California. Watch out all of you sales people - Terminix will turn you into a burn-out zombie in less than a year.

He didn't look back or slow down. I narrowly missed a road side sign and guard rail. There was no license plate on the back of the truck so it may have been from Arkansas which is where he was headed like me. But it was 4:42pm at highway marker 36 and I want an explanation as to why this company's drivers are so careless and inconsiderate.

I am a tech with said company. To all of our current and former customers who have unfortunately had terrible experiences, I am truly sorry. I can only speak from my personal experience. And for the record, any opinion I share is that of my own and may not necessarily reflect the opinions or views of any current/former employees of the company. As for the Pest Technicians, as with any business there will be good ones that respect their profession and their customers, and not so good ones who are doing this just to earn a paycheck. Your woes in having to deal with many of our customer service reps are also felt by us, the techs, as well. We do not have a direct line even to our own branch's customer svc dept. Like the customer, we have to call the same numbers you call and talk to the same CSRs.

I as a tech have even had CSRs that were extremely rude and unprofessional to me and I work for this company! I don't know how the smaller branches handle things, but the bigger branches have a daily scheduler that doesn't even work in the same branch office and in some cases even the same state as the techs he/she is creating the schedules for. So between the scheduler, the CSRs (they also add and subtract from our schedules), and even our managers, we as techs are at the mercy of those who plan our days for us. In some cases we can do a small amount of time management and move customers around on the schedule, but those of us that respect our customers will at least call to "ok" it with them first. It does bother me a great deal that the company seems to care more about maximizing their monthly "numbers & percentage" goals many times at the expense of customers and in some cases even techs.

It's a huge challenge to try and spend the time needed to take care of a customer's needs when you have been scheduled to run some days between 17-19 stops a day. Believe it or not, we are overbooked on a consistent basis, running ourselves ragged to try and make every stop, keep our customers happy and meet their needs and for many of us still try and get home to our own families at a decent hour. In my opinion, some of the tactics employed by this company and put upon us techs to make the "numbers" is an absolute travesty to our customers and I feel that it's wrong.

In my opinion, the company cannot tell their customers/employees about the high moral standards that make up the company mission, then fail to uphold those same morals in daily business practices. I can only state my opinion that this company has become so "corporate" that they have really lost touch with not only their multi-national consumer base but with their employees as well. Big Corporate needs to remember that without its satisfied customers and motivated employees, there would be no company. Customers and personnel alike are more than a monthly percentage goal. Sometimes the "good ol' fashioned" way is the best way and we could probably learn a thing or two from some of these smaller local companies we "acquire" so often. Money comes and goes, but if you make a loyal customer, they'll stay with you through thick and thin.

I own a small yard service and I had customers waiting for me. TERMINIX WASTED HALF OF MY DAY by not giving me the right information over the phone and by giving their man the wrong time to be at my home. IF I MISLEAD MY CUSTOMERS THE WAY TERMINIX DID ME, I'D BE OUT OF BUSINESS. Read my story below:

I checked the internet for pest control services and called the 855 number for Terminx on Monday. I related to the man on the phone that I had a severe flea problem and needed my house and yard treated. He explained the program, cost and said he could have someone out to my home Wednesday. He said there could be nothing on the floor and asked that I sweep before they SPRAYED because the entire floor would have to be SPRAYED. I advised him that I had new laminated flooring and it could not be wet. He said it would be just a light mist that would dry quickly and guaranteed there would be no damage to my flooring. He further warned me that I would have to leave the house for 3 hours and that no pets could be left inside after the house was SPRAYED. I asked about the dogs in the yard. Would I have to put them in the garage or would they be ok to leave outside?

He told me not to put them in the garage because the garage was going to be SPRAYED also and that the dogs would be fine in the backyard, the chemicals would not hurt them. I gave him my credit card information and he told me someone would be out Wednesday between 8 and 10 am. Wednesday morning, I got my son off to school, picked up everything off the floor I possibly could and swept the house. Their man showed up at 9:45am and tells me he was told to be here between 10am and noon. I told him what I was told and rather than shoot the messenger, I left it alone. He then asked me to sign a contract for the service. I read then signed it and showed him the game room that was full of toys. I asked if he would SPRAY one side of the room and I would move the stuff to that side so he could SPRAY the other side.

Then HE ADVISED ME THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO "SPRAY" anything inside the house. HE WAS GOING TO SET OFF FOGGER BOMBS and everything in the house would be covered with the poison and that I could wipe everything down afterwards. I was already upset that he waited until the last possible minute to get here, now he tells me ALL MY WORK GETTING EVERYTHING OFF THE FLOOR WAS USELESS WORK! I then asked would the dogs be ok in the yard while he sprayed. He said NO, they could not be back there until the yard was dry. I took the contract from him, tore it up and told him to leave. Now, I have to go through the whole process of finding a more REPUTABLE/RELIABLE company to do the job.

The first time they came out, I got service and the representative suggested that I get quarterly services. I never signed anything. Only thing I signed was a small hand-held device the technician had and I thought that was just saying he gave me service that day. I did pay with debit at that time, but did not authorize any other debits to be withdrawn from my account. They are ripping people off. I know they did this to others. They are a terrible company. I would not recommend anyone ever give them their account numbers. They will charge your card for an unseen job or unauthorized job just because they have your numbers. Please tell friends and family to never ever use Terminix.

My elderly parents had their house tented/fumigated for termites 6 weeks ago. We followed all the instructions for bagging and even moved all the food out of their house. My parents went back into the house when they were told it was okay and 1 week later, my mom starting feeling dizzy and nausea. We thought nothing of it since it went away. Another week later, same thing, this time she was vomiting. Another week passes and same thing. Symptoms come and go. After 1 week of her being able to eat, she went to the doctor and couldn't find anything wrong with her after numerous blood tests. The doctor ordered my parents to vacate the house thinking it could be environmental from the fumigation.

I called Terminix asking what we could do to ensure the house was safe. I had an appointment set up for someone to come and no one showed up and I never received a phone call. After several calls to them on the same day, I was continually assured that someone would be calling me. Still 2 days later, no one has called me and I'm left frustrated and concerned about my parents health. For a company that has to deal with deadly chemicals, I find it an infuriating that no one will even call me to assure me things are safe. What kind of an operation are they running? I can't be assured that they followed the appropriate procedures if I can't even get a phone call or someone to address my concern.

I am still experiencing problems and it seems they are treating just enough to keep me calling back. If the problem is not resolved quickly I will seek legal representation because Terminix guarantees customer satisfaction. I am not a satisfied customer. Oh and he told he could not treat because he would be "flagged" by the Department of Agriculture. That was not the case when I paid my money.

TERMINIX - This company is one of the worst in the industry! I truly do not understand how and why they are still in business. Their Customer Service Department absolutely does not help when you call them. I made a call two weeks ago to ask for a lady named Jamilah who works in their Billing Department. She made a promise to remove my account from Nationwide Credit, Inc. 4700 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, New York 13850 Phone: (800) 899-0885 after I paid them $40 towards my past due bill, and on August 12th I did.

I had a dispute for service because the technician came out and sprayed my exterior of the house and left a bill on my door. However, the paperwork I signed distinctly states that both the interior and exterior of my home would be sprayed for pests. Then once this guy George came out, he most likely sprayed water because I had more bugs on the inside of my home than ever before plus earwigs and spiders have joined in and taken up residence at my place as well.

So, I refused to pay for the remaining bill until someone comes out to exterminate my home. Well, since Terminix does not care about their customers, NO ONE ever has came out to spray my house inside for bugs. Instead of them helping me, they sent my account to collections for $85 which I will pay once a technician comes and exterminates my residence.

I feel that a class action lawsuit really is needed to close this company down! I have asked for a Supervisor to return my telephone call, but as of September 23rd, my complaint has still fallen on deaf ears. If you receive any advertisements from this company do yourself and everyone else a BIG FAVOR and throw it in the trash where it belongs. You will be glad if you take my advice and shall not regret it.

I signed up with Terminix from a door-to-door salesman in OKC in August. I was asked to provide a voided check as a guarantee of indication of service, but was told it would not be deposited and it did not include an amount. When I finally got the service, the serviceman asked me to pay by check at that time. I did so. I looked at my account today, 2+ weeks after the service, and noticed that I had been charged twice by Terminix. I called what I had been told was a local number and got their call center in another state. The call center person "looked in to it" while keeping me on hold for quite a while and then told me that I could just have my account credited so I wouldn't have to pay for the next service.

I told him I want a refund. He told me it would take 3 weeks for me to receive a check in the mail. I told him that was unacceptable. I told him I wanted him to take it to his highest supervisor and refund me within 1 week, which should be quite reasonable. I plan to cancel the service. I've never been able to speak to anyone at a local number and have to call several times to try to get the service scheduled in the first place, always having to explain myself over and over to a different call center person. The local service guy was very nice; however, I have not been pleased with the business operations at all.

I have been a customer of Terminix for over 30 years and in the last couple of years, their service has definitely gone downhill. Not only has the price increased several times but scheduling the service by automatic recording is not only unprofessional but taken the personal touch out which seems to be a big problem and the tech either does not care or this technology has a problem communicating their schedules and leaving the customers without service as scheduled and/or unsatisfactory service. I read some of the reviews, and as stated several years ago when the techs came to do my scheduled service (which I did talk with a person), given a date and time, not a 4-hour window! They would come in and discuss what problems I was having, go throughout the house and address them, then they would go outside and spray around my house and problem areas in the yard regarding fleas, ants, etc.

My tech would also address spider webs, spiders and other insects and/or rodents if necessary. I not only get to see my tech, I do not get to talk to him/her, they OFTEN do not show up as scheduled and DO NOT address or ask if I am having any problems. Yesterday (9/17/2013), I was scheduled a service at which I was called by the automated system on Friday, 9/13/2013 @ 5:30 p.m. with this information stating that the tech needed access to the yard, any animals (dogs) I may have needed to be secured and I needed to have someone over the age of 18 at home. I not only had my dogs secured, I made plans to have them at the Vet ALL day for bathing and flea dipping as I wanted extra attention paid to the yard regarding flea and ant treatment and had my daughter-in-law at my house ALL day as I also wanted the inside of my house treated as my Dad is coming to visit TODAY (9/18/2013).

I called Terminix at 501-945-2325, the number they call me from, to schedule my appointment and talked with a Terminix representative and told him that the Tech did not show up to complete this scheduled service! He asked me to hold to check this out. When he came back on the line, he said my service had been rescheduled for the 26th of September, at which at NO time had I rescheduled or had NO ONE called me to reschedule. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME this has happened!!! He did apologize and said he would have a supervisor call me regarding this and see what they could do to rectify this! I made this call at 3:30 pm on 9/17/2013. It is 1:17 p.m. on 9/18/2013 and STILL have not heard from a Terminix supervisor.

I guess my contract and loyalty is not important to Terminix. I do hope before anyone decides to get a pest control contract, they do their research and read some of the complaints regarding this company. After 30 years, I will be looking for someone that would like to have me and my money as their customer and hopefully will treat my dogs and me better!!!

According to "Coda" (and it is highly doubtful that is his real name), a "customer service representative" in the Florida call center, these unsolicited and non-contract related invoices are "future billings," sent six and seven (respectively) months in advance in order to avoid a lapse in contract coverage. That is absolute idiocy. By renewing the contract with the changed dates of effectiveness, Terminix defrauds the consumer of months of service. It's a terrific way to steal from the consumer while smiling all the way to the bank.

There was evidence of termite damage in the wood, but never any evidence of ACTIVE, LIVE termites. I later find out their warranty only covers for ACTIVE LIVE termites. I told them I needed to trench around the house for water drainage BEFORE treatment. They said that was fine but that I only had to finish the damaged wood replacement and leave the siding off for them to treat (Why leave the siding off when their treatment is in the ground, I wonder!).

After treatment I call to see what I need to know about distance from the house before digging trench. Called and talked to MANY people all of which had different responses. Took over two weeks to get a final response from a very rude customer service person. I don't usually complain about bad service, but EVERYONE should know about this! I had a local company exterminating at my house for years. They sold their business to Terminix. Terminix called in July to ask when I'd like to schedule an appointment with them to come spray and I was polite and VERY clear when I told them I'd be going with another LOCAL company instead of Terminix. That was July 17. Then Terminix came out 8/12 and sprayed the outside of my house anyway. They could only get to the front yard because the fence and gate stay locked to keep dogs in. We didn't know they'd been out since we were at work. Then they billed me for $86.60!

I called an 800 number and spoke with someone in some other city and state who seemed like she couldn't have cared less and told her the whole story. She couldn't guarantee I wouldn't be billed again in the future for that amount. She said she'd have to contact a service manager and branch manager to find out if they'd erase the $86.60 balance!!!! AMAZING! I asked for a supervisor, but of course, they can't get one on the phone. Wouldn't it be better to resolve a problem immediately instead of being vague and telling me I'd get a call from a manager soon??????

Get this - the company I used for years would come inside the house, spray in every room, go up into the attic and spray, AND spray around the entire foundation in front and back yards - they charged $83. Terminix TRESPASSED on my property, sprayed the front foundation ONLY, and charged me $86.60. I would advise EVERYONE to avoid Terminix. They seem to be another large company that doesn't care. They clearly have some of the worst customer service!!

We were then advised by the previous owner that the house had already passed inspection and decided to have a second inspection preformed, to which there was no evidence at all that we needed treatment, not even trace evidence - the house passed inspection.

My mother then called Terminix, canceled the treatment and requested her check be sent back. Here we are a month later! My husband and I have a contract with Terminix for annual termite inspections and a bond covering the treatment and repairs should an infestation happen for the past three years. Then the inevitable happened....termites. They were discovered and reported to Terminix in May 2013. I called the office and was told that it would be about a week before anyone could come and confirm the infestation. Someone showed up on May 16th and confirmed that we indeed had termites and advised us to put tape over the holes where they were popping out of the wall until another person could come and treat the area. No idea when this could happen.

Ok, meanwhile we had visions of termites eating our home away. About a week later, someone suddenly showed up without any notice very late in the afternoon and said that he was there to treat the interior wall where the termites had appeared. When we asked why we weren't notified that he was coming, he said that he just goes to the homes that had reported infestations and if no one was there, he just went the next one on the list. He also said that someone should be coming to treat the exterior of the home in a couple of days to a week. Then we heard nothing.

Finally, on July 5th we contacted our local Terminix office to ask when someone would be coming to treat the exterior of the house and the person on their end had no idea what I was talking about! She said that the paperwork must have been lost and she would re-enter a request for the exterior of the home to be treated. On July 11th, someone indeed showed up. Another phone call to the Terminix office brought someone out to give an estimate of the damage on July 19th. This guy was very young, had worker with him who spoke minimal English and made a horrible mess because he didn't know how a shop vac worked! Put it together without a filter and just blew dust and debris everywhere. We were told that a second contractor would be contacting us in a couple of days to set up a time.

A week later, we called the office again and the next day a contractor came for the second estimate on July 25th. He said that he wasn't notified of our request until after our call to the Terminix office the previous day. Now we wait again... we were told that work should start in about ten working days. Fifteen days later, we contacted the office again and were told that we still needed a second estimate. When we explained that someone had already done that and gave them the name and contact information for this guy with Service Master (another company owned by Terminix), they stated that they never received his estimate.

Good grief, does anyone in this company actually work or do they just shuffle blame and paperwork onto to poor office flunky who can't read?!! We are still waiting and it has been a total of three months since this little episode began and we still don't know the extent of the damage since no one has done anything except cut little holes in the wall. The office person at Terminix got a little snotty with me when I asked if we could give a preference for the contractor... "Well, since Terminix is paying for it, we will decide, but you can give a preference for one of the two contractors we sent" she says.

Excuse me, but people like us are paying for the policies that Terminix is supposed to be honoring! We are still waiting and frustration with this company is at an all time high. A friend of ours went through the same mess with Terminix recently and it took 8 months to get the work done! This company has a work model that operates on the principle that nothing will happen unless you constantly pester them. They are happy to take your money, but when it comes time to honor the program they set up, their modus operandi is to slow roll the process as much as possible. All I can say is, "if you have an option do not hire this company for your pest control!" They do not stand behind their product and provide the service they promise. Meanwhile, we are still waiting.

When they do call you to schedule an appointment and you’re unable to answer your phone they just randomly schedule one for you and leave a message. “What part of this is customer satisfaction?"

The final to add insult to injury was when I called and had worked out and appointment on the phone with the service center for an additional service I was told that the service technician was going to be able to make it to my home on the given time and date I requested. I rearranged my schedule to be home during their arrival. About fifteen minutes after the scheduled arrival time I called the service center again and asked what the delay was. The service center then told me that there was no such appointment made. After arguing with her on the phone she said, "Well let me just read my notes," and as she's reading them out loud to me lo and behold she reads the gentleman was suppose to be out there at said time. Then I proceeded to ask what she is going to do about this. She said, “I’ll call the technician and the site manager and have them both give you a call.” I asked today - she said yes within the hour or two. Well guess what, that's correct, they haven't called and it’s been over a week. "I think that's well past two hours!"

So not only did they lie to me once but twice lol!! Then the service lady offered 5 % off my next bill whoop-die do 5% how about free for lying to me!! On top of this there's no place that I could find to write a review about their company that right there should set off red flags as too how they take and share opinions of customers. They must know their company is horrible. SO OVERALL THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM FOR ANYTHING. THERE'S FAR MORE COMPANIES OUT THERE FOR WHAT THEY DO!!!

I will NOT recommend Terminix. In fact I will go out of my way to tell people how bad the co. is. This is the second day I am sitting here waiting. My mom has a contract with them and I called about bugs and spiders. I was given a time with a 2-week wait and was told that was all Terminix could do. They NEVER showed, NEVER called. I called to reschedule with a window of 4 hours (between 8 -10) still no show, no call. I have called and Terminix has told me they would be here. I'm still waiting!!!!!! Still no call!!!! This is not a good Co. This is not good customer respect or service.

My name is JP and when I got home today, I found out from my wife that the Terminix tech had just left my house to treat it after I specifically called Terminix on Monday 7-29-2013 to reschedule my appointment to 8-13-2013, between 12-2pm. The reason why I am so upset and writing this email is because I have 2 elderly dogs that are 14 years old and have 2 dog beds and 1 plug in heated bed that cost me over $80.00 under my carport in the backyard. When my wife told me he had just left, I immediately went to the carport to find ALL THREE of my dogs beds to be completely saturated with the chemicals and poisons that you guys use. In past visits, the Tech always knew to NOT spray anywhere near my dogs' beds, which I would personally remove from my carport and bring them inside until all of the poison was dried.

So now I find myself throwing away ALL THREE dog beds since they are contaminated and ruined, not to mention, extremely upset that your tech sprayed chemicals and poison all over 3 dog beds. I wouldn't think that it's policy that Terminix sprays their poisonous chemicals all over their customer's pet's bedding, but maybe I am wrong.

Therefore, I immediately called Terminix to make them aware of the situation and that I wanted to cancel my service immediately, as well as NOT be charged the reckless and incompetent service that was administered at my house today. Upon calling Terminix, 205-655-2915, a woman answered and transferred me to a guy by the name of JASON. After explaining Jason the situation, all he said was that my account was cancelled so I asked him to email me a confirmation that 1.) My account was cancelled effective immediately and 2.) My credit card would NOT be charged for today's service, considering the reckless disregard to my pets as well as the blatant disregard to me for rescheduling my service for 8-13-2013, yesterday.

Upon requesting these two reasonable requests, Jason said that he would NOT do that. I then asked Jason 3 times in a row to speak to his supervisor which he refused each time and upon asking a 4th time, Jason hung up on me. After that happened, I called Terminix back, which Lynn answered and said there was no way of knowing Jason's supervisor since he was in a call center. I then told Lynn that surely his name and ID number or rep number was in the notes. She gave me the Terminix Executive Services number at 1-800-243-4358, which I called, and the gentleman gave me an email address to email to terminixcares@terminix.com

I am appalled that Terminix would employ an individual with such poor customer service qualifications and am very disappointed in the response that I have received thus far. An email address really doesn't cut it for me, but since it is all that was given to me, I am really hoping that someone at Terminix actually cares about their customers and make JASON's POOR performance at his job noticed to the powers that be.

Because of this lack of customer respect and service, I have no option to terminate and NEVER return as a Terminix customer, as well as let my family and everyone I know how I was treated and more importantly, what type of reckless endangerment Terminix policies are as far as spraying down their customer's PET BEDDING with lethal chemicals and poisons. Shame on me for EVER hiring Terminix as my pest control service, and SHAME on TERMINIX for their Incompetent Policies, Reckless Technicians, and EXTREMELY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS by the name of JASON!!!

I own several apartment buildings and have been using Terminix for over 3 years. When I do have an issue to resolve I have to call the 800 number. They are always very nice. The issue is that you can never talk to either your service technician or his supervisor. The service center calls and leaves messages for the technician and or manager and I wait, and they don't call back EVER! I am currently waiting for a callback from Juan my branch manager in Mission, Texas. I had to call and ask to speak with his boss. Oh by the way, he never called me back, but I did get a call from Juan the branch manager. I explained that I had a new tenant and they were horrified by the roaches. I explained that had service twice and it was ineffective. He said that he would have his technician do an intensive treatment.

When the technician arrived my manager asked about the treatment. He said he was doing the same thing as before, the treatment that didn't work. I called Juan and unlike my earlier conversation with him where he was apologetic and said he knows how frustrating it is to try to get a hold of someone. Now he said that I was saying weird things, saying that the tech was just going to do the same spraying as before. He said that 99% of the time that his tech will do what he has asked them to do and why was I saying this. When the tech was speaking with my manager, I asked the tech to contact Juan. He said that he didn't have his number and that I should call 1-800 Terminix. It is kind of hard to believe that he can't get a hold of his boss and doesn't have his number. It has been over an hour and the tech left without doing the service, he didn't have the right chemicals and would have to be back tomorrow. I guess I was right with all the weird things I was saying.

Juan has still not called me back. It must be hard to admit your wrong, but it is good business. The regional that never called me back, his Name is Mr. **. Terminix has a very poor customer service model where the customer can't get a hold of the people directly "responsible" for impacting/servicing their customers. If I were another pest company I would directly target Terminix and their poor customer service model. They don't care and are not being held accountable. To the most important people their customers. Juan said he would call me right back. It has been an hour and 20 minutes. I am not holding my breath.

I had several other companies tell me then and after on a yearly basis since then that I don't have termites. They LIED!!! About a year ago, I cancelled my service since my lawn treatment service was also taking care of my pests. I noticed recently there were rats in my yard. I called Terminix and they said treatment of rats was included in the service so I decided it was cost-efficient to reinstate. The inspector told me the rats were also in my attic, specifically in the insulation and that I needed an 'exclusion' for around $1,000. I've had 3 companies come to inspect and every single one agrees that again they LIED!! After reinstatement and first charge of $137, they claim outside rat treatment is not included. Well, the first treatment went well. He got rid of the flea problem instantly although I think much of that was the carpet chemicals and sprays I already had been doing. Anyway, so next month came around and he was to do the exterior. I was home, and he didn't know it. I saw him pull up, sit in his truck for 10-15 minutes, and left. Never even leaving his truck. They billed me for the service, so I called the company. And they had TONS of excuses, that he sprayed when I wasn't looking, all kinds of crap. Last Thursday evening, a young man rang my doorbell. His shirt had a Terminix logo, and he was wearing some type of ID that was hanging around his neck on a Terminix logo lanyard. He had a clipboard and said he was doing a survey. He showed me pictures of a couple of bugs and asked me if I had noticed them around my home. He said one was a brown recluse spider (scary) and one was a water bug. I told him I had seen similar bugs and he then told me about their special, which sounded pretty good until he asked me for a credit card so they could auto-bill me. He said they would bill me QUARTERLY.

When I refused to pay ahead for a service I had not received and told him I was not comfortable giving my financial information, he offered to give me his cell phone number so I could call him right then (what long-term comfort that was supposed to provide, I have no idea). He showed me a voided check from one of my neighbors (he didn't hold it out long enough for me to glean any information) and said I could give him one of those if I felt more comfortable. I told him that my checks have bank routing and account information on them, and I do not give them out to strangers.

I also told him that we typically do our own spraying and all I was interested in was a one-time service with a “will call" if I liked what I saw. He told me that a one-time spray would be at a higher price. I pointed out that this conversation went from a survey to a sales pitch for what appeared to be a one-time service, but it was actually a year-long contract and a hard-pitch for my financial information and that I was not interested. I felt scammed and grateful that I listened to the voices in my head telling me that something wasn't right, especially now that I've found this site!

In the meantime, they sent a person to spray the bedroom. The man left white powder everywhere! We have 2 small children that could have become very sick! In the meantime, they were supposed to drop off bags for us to bag our belongings as well as send me an email with directions before tenting on preparation. Neither happened. I called numerous times and told them to call me and NOT my husband!

Every single time they called him!! When tenting day came, we checked into a hotel. They called that evening to say they could not tent that day and would be out first thing in the morning! The next day at 6pm, we decided to drive by to see if it was tented and it was NOT! AND no phone call... After talking to numerous people, they finally came out at 10:30pm at night and tented the house. They told us we could come back the next day! We thought it was supposed to take 3 days for the chemicals to work and then air out the house? They said it would be fine. Well at 4:30 the next day, they cleared it safe. We came home that night and woke up vomiting and dizzy! If we are sick or suffer any long term illnesses, we are going to sue! It’s only been a few days and I am still sick! Headaches, nausea and stiff muscles! Oh, and the "sales rep" said he was giving me his personal cell phone number to call him - both that number and the one on his business card were wrong!

I called the 877 number on a Friday afternoon in hopes of getting someone in on Saturday morning. I spoke to a lovely young man and told him the following: I have started seeing a bunch of little ants in the kitchen lately, but I have just sold my home and all I need is a treatment or two until I move out on 2 - 3 months. I asked what they might use as I have a dog. The young man told me that it sounds like you have odorless house ants. They said they could come Saturday morning between 8 and 12, treat it once and it's good for 30 days. They even suggested that I call back in 25 days so that I'd get a free treatment, since the first one is good for 30 days. I was very happy with what seemed like a good solution.

Come Saturday, the technician showed up at 10:30 (a good thing) and my 25 lb. friendly dog ran to say hi. He freaked so I had to put a leash on the dog. Let’s not forget that I mentioned the dog on the phone, so to send a technician who’s afraid of dogs is not exactly customer-friendly service. He then started walking towards the kitchen and said, "We don't treat odorless ant problems unless you do it for a 1-year contract." I explained to him what I was told on the phone, and he said it doesn't matter. What they told you, it's what we do. So I called to complain and the technician just wanted to leave while I was on hold.

Mind you, he never came in to the kitchen to even confirm what kind of ants I had. I was finally connected with the branch manager who confirmed what the technician said, and the technician left. I later called the 877 number to tell them they need to have their sales people know what services are offered. I then called ORKIN. Someone came right away and gave me a one-month treatment for NOT odorless ants, but a different kind. He'd extend it in to a second month since I'm moving anyway and then gave me his card with his cell phone. If I have a problem, I can call anytime. He sat down with me and told me what he was doing and using, and that it’s pet-friendly. Truly a wonderful experience and that only confirmed to me how horrible TERMINIX is in every way! Amazing how much better I feel for just having written this in hopes that they get no business!

We have had our home protected by a renewable Terminix contract for the past 27 years. For the past nine years, we were complaining about live termite activity and evidence of damage. The technicians would come out to the house for inspection only to tell us that the evidence of wings on the window ledges and floors were not of concern. The termite frass evident at the same locations were identified as "old frass" falling as a result of vibrations. Despite certified letters and phone calls, all ignored, I finally contacted Terminix Corporate in Memphis. Once a corporate representative inspected our home, it was determined that the entire floors in our home and multiple walls, windows and exterior siding needed to be replaced. The manager of the Claims Department fought each claim tooth and nail. Many bills which were agreed to went unpaid.

Since many of these contractors were local, I paid out of my pocket and a year later, I am still fighting for those costs to be reimbursed. Terminix was requiring that I sign a release form for the reimbursement of my own monies. Terminix's negligence caused significant damage to our home and disrupted our lives for over a year, forcing us to vacate our home, living in a hotel. Terminix falsified the annual inspection reports by indicating there was no evidence of termite activity when all the while our house was being destroyed. Fortunately, I have photographs of the extensive damage done to our house. Terminix maintained the posture that they were doing us a favor by correcting the damage done.

It was a beautiful sunny spring day on June 5, 2013 and all of the windows were open. My husband and I were out of the house for the day. When I returned home around 4pm, I discovered a Terminix card stuck in my front door. It was a handwritten note signed by a technician named Frank. It states that even though I wasn't home for my scheduled (12:05pm) appointment he treated around all the doors and windows for control of carpenter ants. He also treated the under siding in the back of house. The problem? WE DO NOT HAVE A CONTRACT WITH TERMINIX! How nice to come home to learn that poison had been sprayed around all of my open windows (by extension, onto our cat who likes to sit in these open windows), all over our kitchen counters (including the tomatoes on the window sill and washed dishes on the drain board), our bedding, our furniture, etc. by a company we don't even do business with!

When I called the 1-800 number listed on the card to complain, I was subjected to a woman named Chelsea who repeatedly asked me for personal information so she could look up the account in their system. I kept telling her she wouldn't find me in their system because I'm NOT a customer and that was why I was so angry. When she finally got it, she took great pains to tell me that their treatment was safe for pets and children. When I demanded that a manager call me, she said someone would contact me within 24 hours.

Well, I had plenty of cleaning to do so I knew I'd be home if and when someone did call me. I remembered this from when our own pest control company sprayed for carpenter ants in the past. At that time, I had to not only clear out the contents of my cupboards in the kitchen, but me, my husband and the cat had to vacate the house for 4 hours. No, my home was not being sprayed from the inside. No, it was not tented either. It was sprayed from the outside, the same as what Frank, the Terminix tech, claimed to have done. After the 4 hours was up, I then had to wash all surfaces in my kitchen including the inside of my cupboards. That’s quite a difference from Terminix phone rep Chelsea's claim about their spray being safe for pets and children. Chelsea didn't suggest anything that needed to be done even after I told her that their technician sprayed around all of my open windows.

A local office manager named Anthony called and left a message on my answering machine within the hour after I'd spoken to Chelsea. That's about the only good thing I have to say about this entire incident, that someone from Terminix followed up in a reasonable time. However, I am not satisfied with Anthony's explanation that only Termidor was used and that Termidor is low in toxicity. Anthony went on to say that as long as pets did not lick the foundation and children did not touch the foundation where the Termidor was applied, then there would be no problem. Well, if the technician, Frank, had written that he treated the foundation rather than around all doors and windows, I might have felt a bit better, but now I have conflicting accounts of what was actually done.

Needless to say, I have zero confidence that the manager would be doing anything more than playing CYA for the company. This was a totally upsetting experience that caused me a lot of unnecessary work and the worry that we might get ill at a later date. I am not satisfied with how this company addresses complaints. I don't trust Terminix to tell the truth about anything, and I will certainly never hire or recommend them in any capacity.

After paying Terminix for a number of years, they wanted more money to re-treat my house. They do not spot treat unless they find termites in your house. The termites have to begin to eat your house before they will re-treat. Why do I need to pay them every year if they won't re-treat until termites have started to eat my house? Any pest control that I did not pay for a number of years will treat my house. My reason for using Terminix was to keep termites out of my house. In my opinion, Terminix does not do a good job.

Not to mention, he treated only the spots my mom showed him and never walked around the rest of the house to inspect which led to the need for a return visit. Poor, poor, poor customer service!

Second visit, here we go again. My mother was told between 8:00 am and 10:00 am. Already three phone calls made and no response or update from the company. I even called to have the manager Warner ** please call with an update. He told the customer service rep he would call us directly once he spoke with the tech. Wow, I'm still waiting for a call. I think Terminix feels that their customer's time is of no value. As long as they have your money with the annual renewal fee, it really doesn't matter if you sit and wait all day. A courtesy call with an update is all it takes. I would not recommend this company. Go with Orkin or perhaps a Mom and Pop Business that still remembers how to take care of customers. I am sure they offer the same guarantee.

We had them tent our office building for termites, and now that swarm season has arrived, we are having the same problem Again!!! I called the office and requested a service call to have this looked at and resolved and they could only offer me a 4-day response time... Nothing Sooner!!! When I let them know that they were falling on my employees and I needed them sooner, the Customer Service representative told me and I quote, "All our customers have an emergency and there is nothing I can do for you. We can come out Monday between 10-2 and that is all I offer you." Unhappy I accepted that appointment. Surprise Surprise!!! I called the office when no one came and no call was made... They told me that someone would be calling me back to let me know when they would be there!!! It is now almost 9am the next day and still No Call! No Answers!!! I will however let you know that I called Massey Services, Inc. I spoke with the local office not one in another state and they will have someone out in 2 - 4 hours... Customer service is everything. My company contracted with Terminix to provide pest control services for our, as the service tech termed it, "mice infestation". Our dealings with Terminix began on April 17th when a Residential inspector was sent by mistake. He inspected the premises & then quoted a price for the initial set-up ($495) & subsequent monthly visits ($150). He did not give any details regarding what services would be provided or provide any paperwork at the time.

On the same afternoon, Terminix scheduled a proper inspection with a commercial account manager. The commercial account manager arrived the next day & spent approximately 2 hrs inspecting the premises, detailing how the problem would be treated & writing up the paperwork (contract) which was forwarded to me by email to be signed. He kept the price that was quoted the day before. The contract was signed on the 20th & the commercial account manager picked up the initial payment on the 24th.

The service tech arrived on the 26th to install the necessary equipment. He did not agree with the findings of the commercial account manager. The service tech said that placing any stations with poison was dangerous to our dog whose presence was known to the account mgr. during his visit & he did not understand why the account mgr. would want to place them. The service tech said he would have to place many more snap traps than the account mgr. had written due to the infestation of mice. He said he was placing more glue traps & less tin cats because he felt that the tin cats were not going to be as effective. He said that the monthly cost would probably be affected (increased) by this & would speak to the account mgr. to discuss it.

On April 27th, I called our service tech & informed him that all the traps were full of dead mice. He said he would try to come on the 30th to take care of it/reset the traps. We also called the account mgr. that day which happened to be a Saturday. He was annoyed that we had called him on his day off even after we explained the problem & told us to call the office knowing full well that the office is closed on Saturday. He did not believe that we had an infestation.

The only contact we had with Terminix on the 30th was when a representative called to see how our service was that day. According to her records, we were scheduled for service between 1 & 3. I told her that no one had been here that day & explained the conversations leading up to today. She said that she would look into it & call back. After receiving no call back from Terminix or receiving any service, we placed a call on May 7th at 9:30 am asking where the service was that had been expected on the 30th. Again we were told that they would look into it & get back to us.

With no return call, I called on May 8th. I was told that, according to his records, I was scheduled for service on the 7th. I told him that there was no service on the 7th & again detailed the situation. He was unable to provide any explanation so I told him that I wanted to cancel our service with Terminix. He apologized & put in our request for cancellation. That was it! - No attempt to keep our business! Absolutely no calls from Terminix!

First, the salesman came out and told me that they would steam treat my house and they would treat all areas of my house. He gave me a checklist that stated I should take clothes and shoes to be out in a dryer outside my home. Also on the checklist were instructions for me to have trash bags available for Terminix to bag things after and before treatment. The salesman tried to sell me on just getting my bedroom treated and not the rest of my home, which is a very small one bedroom apartment - less than 700 square feet. I told him I wanted my entire house done because I believe that the bed bugs were already there when I moved in. I had been getting bitten for 6 months before I saw a bed bug, which was three months after I moved in.

He said that the bedroom would be $550 and the entire house would be $950, so I agreed. The day before the treatment, I bagged about 20 garbage bags of clothes and helped out by bagging the things on my tables for them. I did not bag my shoes because I knew they couldn't be put into a public dryer. On the day of the treatment, I paid the full $950 and the serviceman told me that I should bag my shoes. I told him I had to leave because I had 20 bags of clothes to be washed/dried. I also told him that anything that couldn't be treated could be left out on the porch and I would throw it away.

When I returned about 45 minutes later to ask about how long it would take, he told me another 45 minutes and they hadn't found any live bed bugs. I didn't think too much on it at the time but when I returned back home, my house was a mess. Anything that was in my couch, including any bed bugs that had been killed, was on my living room floor. My pillows from my bed was on top of my gas stove in the kitchen. All my shoes were in the trash on the living room floor, in a pile with all the clean white tennis shoes on the bottom. They actually dumped my shoes on the dirty floor. None of the bags had even been touched. None of the tables were inspected. None of the electronics had been inspected. They only treated my bed, my couch and two baseboards.

If I only wanted my couch and bed treated, I would have done that myself and it wouldn't have cost me $1,000. I called and complained immediately with no result every day. It took the manager 6 days to get back with me and when he did, he started an argument with me by saying that it's just as much as my responsibility to treat for bed bugs as it is Terminix. If I wanted to treat them, I wouldn't have called them. I asked for my money back and he said no. Terminix has a money back guarantee that states if you're not satisfied with the service, they'll refund your money. Everyone who has contacted me from that branch has refused to refund my money. After a week, I noticed bites again and bed bugs inside of the mattress covers, which means there are still in my couch as well.

So much for no live bed bugs found during inspection! After 10 calls to customer service, they told me that they can't override a branch's decision on not refunding my money. So I'm out $1,000 and I'm getting eaten alive still! So it looks like I have to file a suit against Terminix to get my $1,000 back. So to whom it may concern, when Terminix says satisfaction guaranteed, they really mean - if they want to give you back your money, they will; but if they don't want to give you back your money, they want. Trust me, they have had me the runaround from the beginning. The only thing that will hopefully end this charade is taking them to court, which I plan to do and get started on Monday morning.

Last July I signed up with Terminix for a 4 time trial. My last Terminix treatment was Monday, April 29, 2013. I was off from work on that day. I was in one of the front bedrooms when I saw the Terminix truck pull in my driveway. He sat in his truck for about 5 minutes. He then got out of the truck and went around to the side of my house and got back in his truck. He sat in the truck for another 5 minutes and I heard the truck start up. He then started to back out of my driveway. I opened my front door and just watched him backing out of my driveway. He finally noticed me standing at my door, stopped his truck and jumped out. I said to him, "Are you leaving without doing the treatment?" He seemed nervous and said no I wasn't leaving. I said to him, "You were backing out of my driveway. It looks to me like you were leaving." He said, "I'm not leaving. I was just going to put the truck in the street."

With that, he opened up the back of his truck and proceeded to finally put down the treatment. He never put his truck in the street. I guess that was the only excuse he could come up with after being caught. I believe I caught the guy pretending to put down the treatment without ever doing it. The last 3 treatments, I was at work and I am wondering if this is what happened all the past times since it's the same guy. I pay $118 for each treatment and I am pretty sure I got ripped off by them. This guy didn't know I was home. He was going to leave my house and scam me. He didn't even have the guts to ring the bell and hand me the bill. Instead he left it in my mailbox.

I am livid and don't know what to do. I called Terminix and the woman said a manager would call me back, which never happened. I am glad I was off from work that day; otherwise, I never would have found out about this guy's scam. I just want other people to be aware of this situation so the same thing doesn't happen to them. Nothing like paying for a service and not receiving it.

I cannot fathom how this company can violate its own contracts, keep vague and incomplete records, conduct themselves rudely to paying loyal customers, have outdated billing services, insult and yell at customers and provide treatment services that are completely ineffective and continue to stay in business. I was called unstable by James over the phone for asking why my claim was denied when my husband and I found live termites in our walls. I ended up paying over a thousand dollars for services that the head manager said was originally conducted incorrectly by the man who did the initial treatment by not drilling holes deep enough into our slab.

Buyer beware! Tom ** will tell you that you are irresponsible if you ask why your claim was denied and accuse you of trying to dig in the pockets of a big business. They are also sexist because when I, a woman, asked about the claim they told me I would be given no money towards my termite destroyed room. Then when speaking to my husband who has contractor friends and family, suddenly, they were willing to offer a small sum towards my claim. My name is on the account and I am the homeowner and paid for all the services, but they told my husband he was easier to talk to because he didn't ask so many questions.

The owner, Jim Haugh, told me I should sue him when I asked him why they were treating me in such an unprofessional manner when all I wanted was a reasonable explanation as to why my claim was denied. When they sent me a check for the damages, it requires me to release the payor of all responsibility to my claim at my address. I refuse to sign this because once we begin work, we may find more damage caused by live termites that should have been dead. I have photographs of live termites and it says in our contract that if live termites are found and it wasn't marked on the original inspection map that there was previous damage that Terminix is responsible for damages. They do not abide by their own contract but you are expected to agree to it and pay an excessive price for a shoddy, unreliable service.

Do not use this company. They will screw you, treat you badly and their "service" is anything but. Oh, most importantly, you will still have termites!

I called on a Thursday night to get estimate for mice. Without asking for house size and location, the man gave me an estimate. I said I would call back after speaking to husband. I called back to set up service and somebody answered who was very helpful, intelligent and friendly. However, since the man before didn't ask for my house size and location, he warned me that the prices may be different. It turns out the prices were the same, but that should have been my first warning that the company was unorganized. But I went forward, gave them my payment info and he set me up an appointment for Friday, the next day. I hate mice. I wanted this done asap.

Friday 5:00 pm rolled around and nobody called or showed up. I called the company to tell them their exterminator missed the appointment and wasted my day. The lady never asked for my information but put me on hold and then the call was dropped. I called back; a different lady asked for my information and said that a manager had rescheduled my appointment for the following Tuesday. What?! I guess that's what was happening when I was on hold and then got dropped. By now I've figured out that they have caller ID and don't actually need to ask for my info. At this point, I had the lady cancel the account.

Tuesday rolled around and I got a phone call from the exterminator letting me know he was on his way for the appointment that I never scheduled. I canceled on Friday because I needed this done asap! I told him not to come (I really felt sorry for him; I think it's the call center that's so screwed up.). I called the company again and told them my story since they don't seem to know what was going on with their customers or their employees. She said she would let her supervisor know and cancel the service.

Since the call center is obviously unorganized, I called again to double check. I was put on hold and then my call was dropped, again. When they ask for your info, it's just for public relations. They obviously have caller ID. I've just called back and they insisted it is canceled and acted like I was bugging them.

After reading a few other complaints, I'm considering contacting the BBB before I get billed and my credit gets hurt.

There is absolutely nothing professional about this office or their work ethics. And then to make matters worse, headquarters can't seem to do anything about it. My frustration with this company is beyond words. If someone saw the contact log (if all is documented) on my account, they would shake their heads in shame.

For over ten years, I paid my annual fee for termites. In the last three years, I have seen the same droppings and have been told during annual inspections that it was not termites. When I did not pay my annual termite contract, a pest control inspector came in and said, "Oh yeah, you have dry wood termites." Same droppings but now that the fee wasn't paid, I am not covered. I have been trying to get customer service/support/satisfaction for over two months now. Finally, I set up a tent day. I have to pay the gas company to turn off gas, take time off from work and bag up all food for the local manager to nonchalantly say to me, "Oh, you're not on the schedule."

Two months down the road, we still have rats in the attic and backyard. At the same time, we still have leaks to fix almost every other day. So I got so disappointed and called to cancel our service. After I explained to the lady from customer service why I wanted to cancel and insisted on cancelling my service, she hung up on me.

When I called them back to complete my cancellation, another lady picked up and said the account is already cancelled. We paid our service up until May, but we won't get our money back even though we're not satisfied with their service. The customer service lady even said I could have waited until May, but you already had it cancelled. Terminix website said 100% satisfaction guaranteed - it's totally **. I'm not. They're also not doing their job. If Terminix is having that good of a service, the lady could have advised that I passed my 30 days and won't get my money back. She could have also suggested that I take advantage of their service until May and give them a second chance to do their service correctly. But no, without further conversation, she just rapidly hung up on me and cancelled my account without confirmation. No more Terminix ever. If you are using them, you will most likely end up with frustration and major disappointment.

They would call 30 minutes prior to arrival so I could arrive to be present for the application. They would be there sometime between 1-5 PM.

We received no phone call, and by 3:00 PM, I called Terminix to get an update on when they expected the technician to arrive. They could not reach him, had the wrong phone number in their records, and reported that they left him a message to call. At 3:25 PM, my mother called to inform me that the technician was leaving, had done some application, and instructed my mother to call an 800 number with her credit card to make the payment. I called to ask why the technician had not called prior to arrival. They had no answer, told me that application had been done (though they could not explain what had been done), and said they would send us a bill.

The supervisor Dawn did not care that the company had no control or accurate information on the order or the application. The technician moved furniture in the house, did not replace it, and tracked in dirt. They did not care that they did not follow nor had current information on their technicians. They offered to have a revisit - why and to do what was never stated. A terrible company - no customer service or attention to accuracy in their details and plans. I highly discourage any use of Terminix.

I called Terminix because I had a termite problem, and I see their name everywhere and assumed they were a reputable company. I then added pest control for both my house and my mother-in-law's house. They never showed up for either of us when they were supposed to. They never called. When I would call them, they would tell me that they were understaffed and didn't know who was supposed to be taking care of my house. I started my termite treatment in September of 2012, and when they treated, they told me I would have to cut down the bushes on one side of my house and they would return to finish the treatment. I cut down the bushes; they never came back.

When I would call the 1-800 number, which is the only method of contact customers have for them, they told me that the termite manager would call me back. That never happened. After three times of that, I called them and told them that every time I call, they tell me that according to the files my treatment was completed, but according to me it wasn't; and they kept saying the manager would call me back, and that never happens; and I want to speak to someone right then. The lady told me to hold, that she would get Karen for me. The same lady then came back on the phone and told me that someone would be out on Monday. This was in February of 2013. So the appointment for that Monday came and went, and no one showed. So 15 minutes after the two-hour window was over, I called back irate.

Again, the only number I could call was the 1-800 number. The lady tried to contact the tech that was scheduled to treat my house. He told her that it was not on his schedule, and he didn't know whose schedule it was on. I told her this was unacceptable and that I've dealt with it every time I've tried to schedule a treatment. She had me hold while she tried to call the termite manager once again, and big surprise when she came back on the line and told me that Karen was not answering her phone. I told her I wanted to speak to Karen's boss then.

She again had me hold while she tried to contact Karen's boss, Sam, who of course was unreachable also. I asked for his number, and she said she couldn't give out that information. So I asked who I could speak with right now. She gave me the 1-800 for corporate, which I called, and they finally got Karen to call me back. After a long conversation with her, she refunded my money towards my termite treatment, as well as my mother-in-law’s pest control payments. They then refunded my money into my mother-in-law’s account instead of mine.

Overall, Terminix has no concern whatsoever for their customers or for holding up any promises that they make. I would never again use any company related to the Service Master brand, and I wish I had checked online reviews before hiring them. I am writing this so that anyone considering Terminix for their pest control needs will strongly reconsider their options. I wish I had checked reviews beforehand; then, I would have seen hundreds of complaints just like my own now.

I rented a POD to store my furniture from 2 bedrooms so that extensive repairs could be made. Because of them waiting so long to take action, when the work finally started, I had to cancel a trip I had planned in Nov. 2012. This cost me $313.70 which they say they are not responsible for. I say they caused the cancellation so therefore the expense should be reimbursed.

Next, I turned in my storage expense of $244.53 which I have not received back. Finally, I paid the bond for 2013 in the amount of $314, and then my house was sold and closed on 12/27/12. I have not been refunded this amount either. I have called and written repeatedly and often, but all I get is how sorry they are and someone will be calling me about this. This company owes me nearly $1,000 and there are multiple claims out against them for similar behavior, yet they are allowed to continue to do business. I paid my bond faithfully for 16 years, and this is how I am treated. Buyers beware! They may say it's guaranteed and they may say 100% satisfaction guaranteed, but getting it is another story.

I have been a long-term Terminix customer for quite some time. I used Terminix in my previous home as well as my current home. I've lived in this home for two years. I'm now moving back to Texas and needed a real estate report from Terminix. At purchase, my realtor set up and paid for the house to be tented in March 2011. He forgot to write it into the contract so he felt obligated to pay for it. I saw your ad on TV with regards to the Ultimate Protection Guarantee and how it specifically targets termites. I purchased the monthly plan at $54.68 believing I had picked the best plan from the most notable termite company in the business.

On March 5, 2013, I had someone out to do the real estate inspection. Although the home was inspected in April 2011 and cleared for the Ultimate Protection Guarantee, your agent said I had active termite damage in my attic. He proceeded to tell me that the plan that I had agreed to was for sub-terrain termites, not wood destroying termites. This was not explained to me. I'm not in the bug business so when you say termite, I think of only one kind. He then went on to tell me that they didn't even have protection for wood destroying termites when I signed up. Again, the house was inspected in April 2011 and no evidence of wood destroying termites was found. Wouldn't it have been prudent to let me know the plan existed so I could add it to my protection?

They are now suggesting fumigation and carpentry work to be done at my expense! Now, I ask you what do the words Ultimate Protection Guarantee mean to you. The word ultimate means to be the best achievable or imaginable of its kind. The word protection means the act of protecting or a state of being protected and being preserved from injury or harm. The word guarantee means a promise or an assurance, especially one given in writing, that attests to the quality or durability of a product or service.

Now when I put this all together, the Ultimate Protection Guarantee for termites and pest is a plan designed for customers in which Terminix provides those customers with the best achievable result in protecting and preserving their biggest investment, their home. That was the plan that I believed I was purchasing. On your webpage, the Ultimate Protection Guarantee states, "No other company can offer you a stronger guarantee than Terminix. You'll come to call it ultimate peace of mind." Instead, it's turned into the ultimate nightmare. You go on to say, "Done right the first time. If not, we'll come back at no extra cost until you're satisfied." If this had been done right, someone would have explained the differences in termites and when the wood destroying protection became available, advised me to add it to my current plan. In the lifetime damage repair, you go on to say, "Terminix promises that if there is ever any live termite activity, we'll treat it promptly at no extra cost. And if there is ever any termite damage caused by live activity, you'll be covered for repairs as long as you maintain your protection. (It does not discern between the different kinds of termites!) Terminix Termite Treatment offers guaranteed protection against termite treatment cost and damage repairs for as long as you keep your plan: (My plan has been in effect since April 2011.)

These are your promises and assurance that attest to the quality or durability of the products and services you provide: Its guaranteed termite protection, not sub-terrain or wood destroying termite protection; certified annual inspection of your home and property. (April 2011 the house was inspected and cleared for your Ultimate Protection Guarantee no active termite activity noted); no termite treatment cost if termites appear; no termite damage repair bills - we’ll cover everything; the strongest termite control guarantee in the business.

"Each professional termite inspection helps Terminix understand your specific conditions and creates the right plan, at the right price, to fit your needs." Obviously, this is not true given the fact that the difference in termites was never explained to me and when it became available, the wood-destroying plan was not even offered to me. Terminix was, at one time, a name I thought I could trust, the industry's termite control leader. This belief no longer exists unless you man up and do the right thing. Someone's negligence caused this situation. This situation is not one where the customer should not be held liable.

I was misled by your advertising and now see that it was very deceptive and gives the impression that the Ultimate Protection Guarantee protects against any termite. I thought I did the right thing by purchasing the Ultimate Protection Guarantee to protect my home from termites. Now, it's your turn to stand behind your word. Please be advised that I have sent a copy of this letter to the Terminix International Company L.P., the ServiceMaster company, Clayton Dubilier and Rice Inc., the California Pest Board, the State Attorney General’s Office and the FTC.

When I called the fourth time, they said I only called once. To this date, they still haven't come back out! I used to believe in Terminix. Now, I don’t!

A Terminix employee showed up at my home in uniform and in a company truck. My son was the only one home at that time. He answered the door and felt comfortable when he saw the Terminix truck since we have been using their services for around 18 years. The employee began asking my son bizarre questions, and soon, my son became uneasy and tried to close the door.

The Terminix employee pushed the door open and continued. He was just drilling him with questions my son did not know the answer to nor understand since it had nothing to do with pest control, and he was scared. He was finally able to shut and lock the door and call me. I am angry and scared! I do not like being scared in my own home! This should have never happened. I want this man to receive consequences for his horrible behavior! I would like to know when and what those consequences are please!

He didn't know his products, said he looked for openings in the attic but didn't. He signed me up for an expensive service and then I never heard from him again. Inspector does not talk with the technician and he does not report to home office. Technician won't look for the opening in the attic because that's the inspector's job. He won't come back to check on the 2 measly traps; you must call to get him to come back. The 2 measly traps are just inside the attic opening because it is a liability for a pest control company to straddle the framing to get further in.

Home Office in Pleasanton, CA - All locations roll over to national so every time you call, which for me was every other day for 28 days, you get someone new who takes your info and supposedly passes it on to the local office. But no one follows up to your message or calls to see if you still have the ** (rats) so you start all over with national number. I finally reached the Home Office Manager after 3 weeks and he sends out the tech, for what? Tech checks the traps - no rats, because, you **, there is an opening in the attic that needs to be fixed. This goes on and on and on. They are complete morons. Twenty days later, I have multiple nests and rat droppings. Guess who I am hiring to do the job of a pest control company? A Handyman. Terminix will never get my business again. I called today to cancel and requested a refund which comes from the home office that you can never reach.

Today, we received notice that our account was turned over to a collection agency. Terminix is ruining our credit rating over a bill that we paid before they rendered service! We contracted with Terminix to tent our home on December 15th, 2012. Before agreeing to tent, Arnie, our rep, came to our house several times to go over the contract and to schedule the tenting. We never had a problem reaching him before the tenting. On December 15th, a Saturday, Terminix showed up and put the tent on our house. We had rented an RV and stayed in our driveway so we could watch our house during the 2 days it was supposed to take. On Monday, the 17th, the tent was supposed to come off of our house. We packed up our 2 dogs and all of our belongings and waited for Terminix to remove the tent. We had to have the RV back by 11 on Monday, the 17th, or we would be charged for another full day.

By 9am, Terminix had not shown up. Arnie, our rep, finally called us and said he had some bad news. The tent wasn't going to come off that Monday because he had "forgotten" about a procedure they had to do before they take the tent off, and they don't work on Sundays so they would come by on Monday to do it. As a result, we couldn't get into our house on Monday as the tent was still on. I missed work, and we had to pay for another day in the RV. We were assured that on Tuesday we would be the first ones on the list. Eight o’clock rolled around and they were already an hour late. We called customer service, and we were told that our rep would call us back in 10 minutes. We never heard from him (still haven't). We called again and asked to speak to a supervisor; he never called back as promised. We made 8-9 phone calls to try and get someone out to our house to remove the tent.

Finally at 9:30, after threatening to sue them, they showed up and removed the tent. I asked Terminix if they had called the gas company to have our gas turned back on so that we could have heat and hot water. Terminix told us that it was our responsibility to call the gas company. I called them and was informed that the earliest they could come out was Thursday, 2 days later. It was raining; we have two dogs, no heat and no hot water. The gas company told us we could have it turned on the same day for a fee. We asked Terminix to please pay the $35.00 fee as it was their fault, and we never heard back from them (still haven't).

Today, January 31, 2013, I had to go up into our attic. Terminix did not staple their inspection card up there. There is no proof that they were ever here. There is an old card up there from the previous tenting from another company from 1993. As of today, 01/31/2013, our rep has yet to call us back. This company is a rip-off. They take your money and you never hear from them again. I am calling the Pest Control Board due to the fact that they failed to put notice in our attic and garage. I am still paying these people for crappy service. I don't recommend them at all. They also have an arbitration clause in their contract so we can't sue. I am going to try anyway.

I wanted to identify the insect, called the 800 # to get the closest office in MD. I asked for a local number and she said, "If they aren't there, it will roll to another store so you can't call them(?)." Why don't they have an answering service, answering machine, or roll it to their personal cell? I called to see if they were there; I don't want to drive there if no one was available to identify it! It answered but it was a FL local! I got the # and called Customer Service; the person answered, "ServiceMaster." I explained, trying to reach Terminix.

She said harshly, "This is Terminix." I asked for a supervisor, got transferred. A lady answered and told me, "There are no supervisors." That explains a lot. I gave her my complaint. She gave me the address to the service in MD! I said, "I just told you, I have that ..." She said, "Then, what's the problem?" This is their Escalation department? Again I explained. I needed to get directions because I didn't recognize the street. It is apparently a side street. She told me to look it up on the internet.

I said, "I want to confirm they are there. She said, "I'm sorry I won't be able to help you today." I said, "This is really inefficient and for you to be the Resolution Center, you really don't seem like you care or even want my business!" She said, "I'm sorry you feel that way," click. I have a small business. Man, I do everything I can to earn every customer. I would have gotten a map out or gotten on the internet and told that customer where the closest main street was. I'd have emailed that owner while the customer was on the phone and confirmed they were there or found out when they would have been there! That's what a Resolution Center does - they resolve issues! On 7/17/12, our siding contractor brought to our attention that there were termites in our window sills and parts of the roof that they could see. I contacted Terminix who is supposed to be the leader in the industry to take care of this. On that day, salesman Carl came out and told us they would treat until the termites were gone and that is their guarantee and would be treating the inside and out. On 7/18/12, the guy came out to start treatment. He dug a trench around the house and started with spraying the inside window sill where there were hundreds of black ants coming out of the wall and the back of the home. He stated that he had to come back due to needing supplies.

I contacted Terminix the next day and spoke to Sherri to let her know that I was spraying bug spray because I had live ants continuing to come out of the window sill and the siding guys need to finish their job so please send out the local guy who never came back. Since July, I have continued to call Terminix with several reps telling me that I should not be billed any longer and they would have someone contact me (with no return calls). Some days/times/reps include: 7/24/12 11:10am Akim; 10/16/12 8:35am Nikita; 10/23/12 2:55pm Kitty; 11/13/12 4:56pm June; Jackie; 11/15/12 8:35am Cindy; 11/17/12 8:03am Jackie; 11/17/12 8:58am Tom; 12/13/12 9:45am Customer Svc; 12/13/12 3:45pm; 4:39pm ** (corp comp dept.). These are just some of the times that I have at work to put on here. There are several more in the Terminix note system. I have been told this issue would be taken care of, and to date it has not. I have filed a complaint and they stated to talk to the local manager who is the same guy who has not showed up as of yet to date. I was told he would call me since July and still nothing.

To have a guarantee and to not show for several appointments and to say there is proof of those additional "stop bys" and not be able to provide to me. It's really frustrating when I took off work those days and sat there waiting for someone to show up and nothing. Then to be told notes don't mean anything. Yes, they do. It backs up what I am saying and backs up my frustration that we still have termites almost 6 months later, and no one has tried to make good on this issue so that I may hire another licensed termite contractor. Why can't corporate review this and see that we are good people with A+ credit and now are being affected because we do not want to pay for a service that was not completed and still have the problem! We just had our roof done by an Angie's List Provider and they saw the termites. They are also willing to verify with Terminix and willing to put in writing so that I can have this contract null and void and the billing to $0 so that I can hire someone that will actually come and do the work they were hired to do.

We have been using Terminix for pest control for many years. The bi-monthly service has been great; however, the Termite department has been nothing but problems for us. The recent problem was the last straw for us. We scheduled a fumigation from Terminix through their representative, Dorian. We paid upfront and scheduled the fumigation for Monday, Dec. 10, per Dorian's suggestion. We spent 2 1/2 hours Sunday night packing up food and medications. We made arrangements for our animals to be cared for, and we prepared to be out of our home until Wednesday afternoon. On Monday morning, the gas company showed up promptly at 9am to shut off our gas, as was scheduled through Terminix. By noon, Terminix still had not showed up to tent our house. My husband (who was in contact with Dorian) asked him to contact me because he (my husband) was going to be in meetings all day. By 12:30, I had not yet heard from Dorian.

I called Terminix directly and I was told that there was no fumigation service scheduled for Monday and I must have my days mixed up. I explained to them that I could not have possibly mixed up the days because they (Terminix) were the ones who scheduled our gas to be shut off. The receptionist said that she would have the manager contact me after he got off the phone with another customer. By 1:30, I still had not heard from the manager or Dorian. I called back, and the receptionist said she would leave another message for the manager to call me back immediately. I waited until 3:30 and still did not hear from a manager. I called back a third time and was told that a manager would contact me soon and I just had to wait until they contacted me. Finally, at 5pm, Dorian called me back and said that there was a mix-up in the paperwork and that they could not tent our house until Tuesday (the following day). He assured me that we would be the first priority for Tuesday.

An hour later, Dorian called back and said that because it was after 5 when he re-submitted the paperwork, it was too late to submit for Tuesday and we could not get our house tented until Wednesday. I asked that if he knew at 12 that there was a mix-up in the paperwork, why did he wait until after 5 to re-submit. He said it was because he could not get a hold of my husband to confirm? First, I do not know what he needed to confirm; we were obviously already ready for fumigation. I also reminded him that my husband told him he would be in meetings all day so to contact me. Apparently, Dorian was confused by those instructions. At this point we agreed to have our house tented on Wednesday; however, I asked Dorian to have someone come over Tuesday morning to turn our gas back on for the day. He said that he would do that.

On Tuesday morning, I contacted Dorian to find out when our gas would be turned on; and he told me that all though he agreed to have our gas turned on, he just could not because the gas company needed 48 hours’ notice to turn it off again, which would push our tenting back to Friday. Let me just add a note, I have 3 children. So now Dorian is telling me that I would not have gas for another day. So no gas to cook, no heater in the house, no hot water, and no food because everything was still packed up. But to top it all off, Dorian's response was, "It looks like we are just going to have to bite the bullet on this one. I'm sorry. There isn't anything else I can say but I'm sorry." Really? We? Because it is him living in a house with 3 kids, no hot water, no food, no heat? After I got off the phone with Dorian, I decided to call back Terminix to complain again to a manager. I told the receptionist that I had a question about a fumigation that was now rescheduled from Monday until Wednesday. Guess what, she said, "Um, there is not a fumigation scheduled for that address. Are you sure you have the correct day?" You have got to be kidding.

I told the receptionist that although she does not show that it is scheduled, I want to cancel the order. I called Dorian and told him I want the order canceled and I want our check back immediately. He showed up an hour later with my check, and I asked him to please contact the gas company to turn our gas back on immediately. He said he was already on the phone with them and he would call me to let me know when they would come out. By 4 pm, I still had not heard from Dorian or the gas company. I called Dorian several times, and he never returned the call. I finally called the gas company and was told that they needed a 24 hours’ notice to turn the gas back on after Terminix contacts them. But Terminix never contacted them to turn my gas back on. On Wednesday, at 7pm, we finally had our gas turned back on - not because of Terminix, but because I called the gas company and begged them to please come turn on our gas and assured them that there was never a fumigation. I think they could tell I was on the verge of a breakdown. Oh, by the way, it is now Saturday; I have still not received a call from Dorian or the Terminix managers.

They have a consistent history of billing for services never rendered. I used to pay them yearly but noticed that they did not show up for scheduled services. I called but they never showed up. I stop paying them annually but only pay for services they render. However, they still sent me invoices without providing any services. The following is the most recent example that I filed a complaint with the BBB. They did not show up for one of their scheduled services sometime in 2011. I called and they apologized that their service person was busy on the scheduled date. They scheduled me another date, also in the end of 2011, telling me that their service person would come to service my house. On the scheduled date, the service person called me and apologized that he would not be able to come at the scheduled time and told me that his supervisor will contact me to reschedule. I waited for a few days, and then called and left them a message, but they never returned my call.

I thought to myself that I could skip one service and wait for the next service because these are routine pest control that they service my house 4 times a year. However, I then received an invoice for the service they never provided. I wrote them to explain the situation, but I received the exact invoice a few weeks later. I then wrote them again. They came back with another invoice. I called them and they said they would examine it, but I received an invoice again. I wrote and called them asking for their proof of service, but they, of course, have never been able to provide the proof of service because they never did. For the times they did come out to provide service, they would leave a slip with a record of the services they provided, such as something like ".3 GAL of Lamda-Cyhalothrin; Gen Surface spray, etc." Again, they have never been able to provide such proof of services.

To make a long story short, they never correct their records and continued to bill me despite my multiple requests for proof or correction of their record. Today, I received a letter from a collection agency. I do not want this to have any impact on my credit; therefore, I go ahead and pay for it, which is only $94. Therefore, I filed a complaint with the BBB. This organization is unethical and unprofessional. It is a waste of time and money with them.

Company made me prove Dorian promised (I had made him sign the contract before the work was performed because the contract only showed 1 year. He changed it to 3 years and signed it. - I had to prove this. Hmmmm.)

It has been more than four months, and after contacting them each month, Joelle promised to send me a letter stating that I have a 3-year warranty. It's been another month, and all we get is it's in the mail. I know the mail is slow, but a month? So if you don't mind their techs signing your name, salesmen not returning calls after the job is done and office personnel blowing you off with excuses, then this might be the company for you. We have had both pest and termite contracts with Terminix for several years. We had to schedule a treatment for fleas inside and outside of our house. The technician came and provided the service and we had to board our cat and went to hotel as my daughter is allergic and had already gotten bites. The technician told us not to vacuum for 2-3 days - the opposite of what we were told on the phone. When we returned to feed kittens outside, my daughter put a bowl down just outside the door and immediately had several fleas on her. We called to be re-treated as per the agreement with our pest contract. That was rescheduled for 3-5pm. At 2:50, my husband got to the house and saw a technician leaving the street. He immediately called the company who assured him that it wasn't the technician for us. He then called several more times while waiting and was told again he was on the books and that the technician was on other calls. Then at about 5:45pm, the technician called and said he was there at 2:50 and that he was going to come.

After my husband, who had waited three hours, stated that if this was how they treated clients, he would have to consider his staying with Terminix. The technician said, “That's fine" and he understands that. I called the company to ask about the many issues with all this and spoke with two nice individuals who tried to get action by sending me to their supervisors and then to the manager. The manager, Matt **, was with his family at a restaurant and didn't seem much interested in getting someone to solve the issue by having the technician own up to leaving before the scheduled appointment and have him come back. I acknowledge that people are human and that the people on the phone who didn't follow through to check on the technician and the technician who left before the scheduled time, and then said he wouldn't come back. But I asked if they would rectify it and tell the technician to come back and do the treatment. After discussion, he did agree to talk with the supervisor and have that person or himself call back.

I believe it was Preston or Core ** who called back and stated he knew the technician and was only concerned with backing him up and not acknowledging or more importantly find to resolve the many issues. He’s not coming until Monday when we are at work and school. If we waited until after work then the cat would have to board again and we would need to be out of the house at a hotel until things got under control. He said he spoke to the manager after talking with me and that they agreed to wait 5 days which was his preferred treatment. My daughter got eight more bites in the short time we were back in the house for a total of 18 and is on Benadryl for the reactions. He did state that the technician who said not to vacuum was 100% wrong. He said that the product is to work in 5-7 days as that would give it time to work. I asked him and had asked the manager what we need to do in the meantime as we had a cat boarded and my daughter still got bitten from adult fleas.

He said at one point, the product kills adult fleas and when I said it didn't, he still went back to repeating that the product is to kill the eggs. He stated that he could re-treat in five days and if we didn't want to do that, then that we could part ways. I had explained to both that we were told that it was safe to return in 4 hours and that it was dangerous and misleading when they now say that their product doesn't kill the live fleas. People should be told that it isn't safe to return, especially if they are allergic, that clients and pets are still at risk. The supervisor came down to say the people on the phone should be scheduling re-treatments before 5-7 days. Then why are they and why didn't they say this when we called? Why did the technician not mention this when he spoke to us? Why did he also not leave a note to say he had come and why he left? Is it because it was too early he did not let anyone know so that when we call several times we wouldn't have to waste our time?

It was very confusing as every time I pointed out that what they said and what it did was not working in terms of policies and procedure, they would come up with another story to blame something or someone else. To this end, in reality, their products are not intended to kill adult ones but over time, if people vacuum they will perhaps get rid of them just by the vacuuming? Why then do we need their service? Over-the-counter foggers kill the live adult fleas. The costs of boarding the cat, the hotel fees, the cost for us to do what Terminix was supposed to do which is kill the adult ones, the inconvenience of preparing the house, and being out of the house, the months my daughter will suffer before her bites will heal - who will help us with these things? The company does not own human errors, doesn't honor their own policies, and does nothing to rectify the situations. Poor business.

I called to have service with Terminix and ended up signing a year long contract. They were awful! When they came, they did not clear all the cobwebs like they were supposed to. On a couple of occasions, it was so bad that I even had to call them back to my house. At the end of the year, I called to cancel my contract. Then the following day, I noticed that Terminix had made a direct withdrawal from my account. I was completely surprised since in the past they would call the week before they were coming to my house as a reminder and because I cancelled the contract! When I called to make an inquiry and dispute the payment, I received the runaround from Terminix. They told me they were at the house the day before, the same day I cancelled my service with them and someone from their office would get back to me. I have not heard anything else from them and have called three more times trying to follow up and have not received any further help or answers. I am not the kind of person that normally writes reviews or disputes charges, but this time I am really pissed and would never use Terminix again. I do not recommend Terminix to anyone!

Well I've used Terminix in the past for carpenter bee problems. They were quick to come out, assess the problem and spray, and the technician was very professional. The spray didn't completely kill off the bees, but they did have a 30-day guarantee and they came back and sprayed again. At that point, I'm not sure if it was cool enough they went into hibernation or if they were killed off, but my problem was solved! Imagine my surprise almost a year later when I find a bedbug in my son's room! My son is hypersensitive to everything and has severe allergies to pretty much everything, so I immediately bagged his whole room and started the decontamination process.

I woke up Saturday morning and called Terminix right away asking for someone as soon as possible and was told I was scheduled for 10-12 that day. Wonderful! I continued with my cleaning and washing, drying and doing what I could but I kept a picture of the bug so they could see it. 12:30 came around and I called to find out where the technician was. I'll make this part short, I went through four different service agents, got disconnected 3 times when they were trying to contact the inspector (not a single agent called back to confirm they had or had not reached the technician) and finally, I got to the 5th agent. I was not in the best mood at this time, by now it was 1:30PM and she pulled up my account and said, "Ma'am, you're not scheduled until Monday." Five people before someone catches that? So I waited.

Monday came and I waited from 10-12, and finally called at 12 asking where the representative was who was supposed to be coming to my house. She pulled up my file and said, "Please hold while I try to reach him." Great! Guess what? I got disconnected again. I called back and requested a manager, at which time I was given the, "Is there anything I can do" speech so I explained (and yes, very nicely) that no, she couldn't help me because this is what happened Saturday and now we're doing the same thing on Monday. She put me on hold and immediately was able to transfer me to a manager. Brian ** was excellent, apologized greatly and came straight out to the house himself to inspect.

He explained that there had been a scheduling snafu and the individual scheduled to come to my house was on vacation and he wasn't sure why they still scheduled under him. So with the cleaning I had done all weekend, there was no evidence other than my pictures. He offered to have someone come set traps to make sure I did have the bugs before we started treating. With the hassle I had on Saturday and Monday both, he said they would be here at 5PM on Tuesday since that was when I got home from work. I got home Tuesday at 4:45PM and there is a note on the door that they had come and left, call to reschedule.

Needless to say, I was not very pleased. I called Brian directly on his cell phone Tuesday evening (no answer, no message) and again on Wednesday (no answer and yes, I left a message along with a service agent from the other phone number leaving a message) and yet still, no call backs, no answers and no business. Needless to say, I have three other companies scheduled to come already. This is the worst customer service I have seen. If I'm paying someone for a service that from what I can understand is going to be lengthy and expensive, why am I the one calling back and tracking people down? Absolutely disgusted and definitely would not recommend (at least the branch locally here in Dover, DE) to anyone and will be sure to tell everyone I know!

Cancelled Contract & Still Looking for Payment! - I have had Terminix for a few years, left for a year to help a friend start up then went back to Terminix. I always pay up front for the year so that there are no conflicts with payments and late payments, etc. My latest contract of $352.80 was paid on 06/20/2011 until 06/20/2012. I called on 06/01/2012 to cancel my contract as I knew it was coming up for renewal on 06/20/2012. When I called, I was told that I had one service left to call back after service was complete. I then went on vacation and when I returned, I called on 07/10/2012 to cancel which it was.

A few weeks ago, I got a call from Terminix to say I owed $96 for services rendered. After a 20-minute conversation, I request that a manager or somebody with authority calls me back. No one called. Then last week, I got four calls from four different people saying the same thing, "You have an outstanding bill of $98. How do you wish to pay before it goes into collection?" I am like, "Excuse me, collection?" Again, I requested a manager to call me. I received a call yesterday from yet another different person repeating the same line. Again, I requested a manager to call me. Finally today, a so-called manager called me asking, "What can he do for me?" I'm thinking, "Have you not read any notes on my file?"

I yet again for the sixth time explained the last conversations I have had with numerous people and his reply was: "We have no record of you calling on 06/01/2012." I have my Vonage records to prove this. "We have no record of the conversation." I know I called to cancel! "You called on 07/10/2012 to cancel." Correct. "Your contract runs from June to May." Not June? So why when I called on 06/01/2010 to cancel was I told I had one service left yet and to call back after it was done and now I am being charged for it? "So ma'am, how do you wish to pay before it goes into collections?" I am fuming at this point. He still does not see where I am coming from and he is a manager? Whatever happened to working with your customers?

In the end, I paid it (which galled me and still fuming over it). But the only reason I paid this is my credit score is excellent and I was not going to let Terminix screw that up the way they have screwed all this up. I will never use Terminix again! I will never recommend Terminix again! Terminix who?

We had an appointment for Oct. 4th between 1-5PM. I took off from work for the afternoon and waited at home. By 4:15PM, I called and asked if the serviceman was on his way. I was told that my appointment was cancelled and they didn't need to visit, they can just quote me over the phone. $213 for the initial treatment and $105 quarterly. The customer service person began giving me the spiel about how they kill all types of pests and use "environmentally-friendly products".

I am angry. When they decided not to come, they should have called me. I don't want to kill every living thing in my house, just the pests. When I asked specifically about the chemicals and application techniques, I did not get an acceptable answer. They treated me like I was stupid and why should they come by to review the situation when they can kill everything. Sounds like indiscriminate use of pesticides to me. When I asked about the safety of the chemicals, the agent said they can't provide MSDS or other safety information. What crap!

Poor customer service. They want a commitment to purchase before they even examine the situation. They want to apply treatments without informing me of the safety aspects - just let us spray and leave. This stupid customer is going elsewhere and spending her money on another service. I bought a house in Florida 2 years ago, got a contract with Terminix. This June 2012, I saw bugs which I assumed were termites in the bathroom but being from up north, I wasn't sure. I called and was told everyone was seeing termites as it was their swarming season, not to worry, but if I saw them in a month or so to call again. They were still around so I called. I was told I had to get an inspection, so I scheduled an inspection, only to have my bug guy come who told me he didn't do or know anything about termites.

He took a specimen and said he would get back to me and did. He said it appeared to be termites, but to wait a couple of weeks to see if they disappeared. They didn't disappear, so I called again. Terminix sent my bug guy again, who said he would call the office and make sure they sent the termite guy as they had verified it was termites. The bug guy called the office who set up another inspection. This time the "inspector" came with bug spray and sprayed, saying he might not have gotten them all, to wait several weeks and if they were still appearing to call the office for another appointment.

I didn't see any for about 2 weeks. Then they started to reappear again. I called the office. I told them when the last "inspector" came, he sprayed for termites saying if they returned, to call and schedule another appointment. The website was broken so I couldn't do it myself, so I called the local office. I had an appointment an hour or so ago. Two inspectors came, this time verifying yes, I did have termites but they weren't the ones doing the spraying, I needed another appointment. When the corporate office called to verify previous to the appointment for an inspector, I emphatically told them that I did not need yet another inspector; I needed a followup treatment!

I lost it when these inspectors came in again to tell me the specimen of termites, one of which was still roaming around in the plastic bag, was a termite and I needed treatment. In my experience, I would not recommend Terminix to anyone.

Terminix's overall failure to comply with their obligations - My husband decided a couple of years ago that he would allow Terminix to come and inspect our house for free to verify if we qualified for their Termite Insurance Plan. We were inspected, which involved Terminix checking inside and every inch outside of our house, with any sign of termites or "old" termite damage. In this inspection, the inspector had to draw out the dimensions of our house exactly and write and mark on that drawing where, if any, old damage was. There was one place that was marked on the drawing that had old damage and it was in our den. My husband and I were aware of this old damage. My husband and I recently hired a contractor to replace the floor in the den for the old damage, which we paid for ourselves. We also hired them to remodel the tiling in our shower area.

When they tore the walls down, there were active termites. I have pictures of the termites moving their larvae. We immediately called Terminix because our contractors informed us that they could not continue with the remodel until this situation was resolved, which Terminix advised us of the same. Terminix's policy states that they will have a solution to your problem within 24 hours and that you will never have to pay for any future damage or termites. It was more than 24 hours before they sent a crew out to treat the live activity. The inspector named Terri explained to me that, "Your husband and you might want to pull the tub and check the floor for more termite damage." I explained to him that my husband and I would not be doing anything of the sort, that the contractor for Terminix would and should be doing that according to the policy we had.

He explained that we should be getting a phone call from the contractor by the next day to set up a time to come and inspect the damage to give Terminix an estimate. By 3:00 the next afternoon, we had not heard from Terminix or the contractor. Finally the next morning, about 10:30, the contractor showed up at the house. He was in my bathroom for maybe 20 seconds, didn't test any of the other boards around the obviously damaged area and didn't go under the house to view the floor under the bathroom. I mentioned to him what Terri from Terminix had stated while he was here about pulling the tub and the floor. He advised me that he would call and speak with Terri and then make an estimate. I asked him how he could give an accurate estimate if he wasn't going to test any other wood for damage until he came back to do the work.

He said he wasn't worried about it, that he charges Terminix the highest amount possible because he knows he will get paid. He advised me that after he called Terri, he would call my husband to let us know if the estimate was under or over a thousand dollars, as this would effect the amount of time it takes to be approved by Terminix. Once again, my husband never received a phone call. I called Terminix and complained again, explaining again that this was an emergency due to the fact that we were not able to use the bath or shower, and we have four kids! We just wanted their people to do what they themselves said they were going to do. I had also documented every conversation I had with anyone from Terminix up to this point.

My husband received a phone call that evening from the contractor, who informed my husband that he would be at our house the next day anywhere from 8:30 to 1:30 to repair the damage. He informed my husband that he would just be replacing two boards and that's all and it would only take him 30 minutes, and that "You and your wife can do whatever you want after that." My husband informed him that once he arrives at the house, I am going to have our contractors come to the house as well and when he is done "repairing" the damage, he has to sign off on it. Then our contractors are going in behind him to inspect if there is any further damage that was missed and if there is, we will be suing Terminix and him. He was very upset at this and explained that if our contractors find any more damage after he is done, just to call him and he would come back and fix it! Unbelievable!

The next morning, when the contractor was supposed to show, my husband received a call from the local manager and he explained that the contractor had put our job on "hold." Basically, he backed out of the job. My husband explained the hardship that we had been facing due to the fact that nothing was being done in a timely manner and that we had no shower or tub, etc., and that he was definitely contacting a lawyer. He asked my husband if our contractor would be willing to do the work and if so, he could send him an estimate that day because he was going on a vacation the next day and wouldn't be back until the following Monday. Our contractor agreed to this and left the job he was on to come and inspect the bathroom.

As we thought, they pulled the tub and there were several other boards in the surrounding area that were damaged and there was termite damage on the bathroom floor, which meant the floor would need to be replaced. Our contractor called the local manager himself and asked what exactly he needed to send right then. He was told that he just needed the estimate so he could push it through, which was done. Our contractor called me around 4:30 and told me that the local manager called him back around 4 and advised him that he needed more information before he could submit the estimate. Our contractor was back on the job he had previously left and advised the manager (mark) that he wouldn't be able to get it to him until that evening. Mark told our contractor that he would already be gone on vacation and it would have to wait to be submitted until Monday.

Now it is Monday, going on week three of no bathroom and we still have not heard from anyone from Terminix as to whether or not the estimate was approved. And to top it off, Terri, the first guy who came out with Terminix, called my husband on Friday, having no idea what had transpired since he had been at the home and tried to advise my husband that the damage under the bathroom floor was "old" damage and Terminix would not pay for that. I politely called him back and advised him that when we were approved for this insurance and they came out to check the house, per their own person, the only old damage was in our den, nowhere else in the house. So it was absolutely new, not old damage.

There is much more to this story. I thankfully have everything documented word for word and how this company has lied many times over. Absolutely would never recommend this company to any person ever!

On Friday, we called to report that ants had traveled to the kitchen and upstairs bath and needed to be stopped immediately. No response. By Saturday they were at another point in the kitchen. Just Google Terminix complaints, as I wish I had and just maybe I could have saved thousands in damages. After paying thousands for over 15 years for protection they didn't provide, finally I found what thousands of previous customers have also learned. Terminix frequently will not stand behind their Total Satisfaction Guarantee. Terminix maintains a countrywide full time staff of lawyers that strive to dodge any reasonable measure of responsibility for their claims of Total Protection and Strongest Warranty in the Industry.

Once a customer discovers their home has significant damage, Terminix has a proven history (as if from a script) of dragging their heels before addressing the issue, then offering some small penance of patch work to cover the often times extensive damage to the structure. Once the customer finally catches on to what is happening, Terminix often just walks off the job (as was the case with my home after they had a crew of migrant farm workers (non-skilled handymen, half of whom were undocumented and none of which had any workers comp insurance) gut my home over a period of six months.

A week before Christmas, they walked off the job leaving my family and me with no running water inside the house, no working bathroom or kitchen. I thought that it was a fair price and was looking forward to their arrival. I put in at work for a half day off. Day and time came and nothing. No phone call, no email, not a thing. Now, the only thing I could figure is maybe they tried to call back but they had my address. I tried to tell them then that where I live is not a "Garmen" specialty and that cell phones do not always work out here. They did not even come close to taking me seriously. My offer for information about who was to be their future customer was unimportant to them and obviously I was to! I have even recalled and emailed them since and still nothing. Not here or to me, but the pests are here (until Orkin shows up anyway).

The sales rep was evasive and did not disclose what I would really pay. They did eradicate the earwig problem; I have not seen one bug in three months. Now they insist they need to come out 3 more times and I owe them just under $500 for more treatments I don't need. I did this over the phone, no contract was mailed or emailed (note to self: get a contract in writing first). I asked for one and they sent it, finally. Of course, they have no signature. I'm not sure what to do next or if this "contract" is binding. I wish I had seen this website first and gone to Orkin! Learn from my mistake!

I hired Terminix for bed bug removal in August of 2011. I paid $2,100 to have my entire two-family home treated. Since then, I have had 8 treatments! Almost a year later, the issue still lingers in my daughters' room. After I initially discovered the problem in my bedroom, kids' room, and living room, I threw everything away. I replaced all the mattresses and box springs and purchased encasements. I replaced my living room furniture as well. I have become a freak about this issue, constantly checking and rechecking, and examining everything.

My 3-year-old continues to be eaten alive by these bugs. Back in February, they charged me an additional $1,000, saying that my warranty window had expired. I had to beg them to send an inspector to my home. They told me it sounded like I knew what I was talking about so there was no point. I had not been seeing the tell-tale signs of bed bug (no black spot, molted shells, blood smears), so I needed the "expert" to come and look around to see where else they would be hiding. When they eventually showed up, they accused my daughter of continually bringing the bugs back into the house from school because they didn't see anything and it was unusual to have to treat so many times. Too bad she doesn't even go to school! Not too long after the February treatment, she was covered in bites again.

After tearing the bunk beds apart, I discovered yet another nest underneath the wooden slats that the mattress sits on. I contacted Terminix again, and they sent a supervisor along with the technician for inspection. The tech had been to my home twice before, so I asked if he ever treated under the slats. He said nothing. I asked the supervisor if it was a coincidence that the bugs were now hiding out in the only place that had never been treated. He did not disagree. At that time, I made the argument that I probably would not have had to pay the additional $1,000 had those slats been sprayed front and back and demanded a refund. I was originally told they would be happy to give me half. I told them it was unacceptable. The supervisor then told me I should contact the Commercial division, rather than their residential division, because they were responsible for the initial treatments and it would be the right thing to do.

Can you imagine? I was supposed to mediate the two departments. Not my place or problem. I eventually received the refund in full. Lo and behold, when dressing my toddler this morning, I discovered more bites and found 2 adult bugs and 2 smaller ones under her mattress pad. The new bed is riddled with black dropping marks. I contacted Terminix and they told me I have to wait until Monday to talk to someone about this. My experience tells me that it will be at least one more week until someone gets here to treat. I am beside myself. I have serious anxiety related to this issue and am in the process of bagging $500 worth of bedding for the trash. I already threw away the $400 rug. The bunk bed unit is likely to be next. This issue has cost so much more than the $2,100 paid back in August of 2011. Help!

We had fire ants invading our new home and had noticed Terminix stickers on the electrical meter outside so we gave them a call. The people I first talked to were really polite and helpful. We decided to go with their service since the previous owner used them even though it was quite a bit more than other quotes we had received. When I called back to authorize the service, it rang about a dozen times and the lady answered in a very "frazzled" manner. I explained to her what we wanted and her only reply was "you'll have to contact your local office." "Ma’am, this is a local number and the number I received help from yesterday." "Your local office will contact you then." Then she hung up. Needless to say, we decided against using them.

The serviceman did our entire 4000 sq. ft. house (inside and outside!) in under 20 minutes and swore he'd been thorough. Yeah, right. They wouldn't even schedule a visit to our summer cottage because it doesn't have an official mailing address. I'm surprised they're able to stay in business.

I have called twice a day for the past week trying to get a copy of the inspection they did on my client's property. They are polite on the phone but unable to locate the report or, in fact, send it to me by email, fax or overnight shipment. I have an escrow closing this Friday. I ordered the inspection two weeks ago. I have nothing and it's now Tuesday night before the 4th of July. There is no way they can resolve their mess. I will take this into my own hands and call my own local termite company that I highly recommend (O'Curra Termite) and have them do the work. I initially noticed that we had bed bugs in our apartment two months ago. Unfortunately, it was on a weekend when I initially found out, so I had to let my landlord know on the Monday after I found out. I also noticed rashes all over me and my infant son, and notified both landlord and Terminix. Terminix did come, did inspection, and sprayed the whole apartment. I noticed after the initial treatment that we were still getting bed begs in our apartment and had to contact the landlord again to have her contact Terminix again to spray. The second time, Terminix only sprayed our bed. I left for vacation for a month to spend time with my husband who's currently deployed and noticed we had bed bugs all over the apartment again and contacted landlord again.

It was pulling teeth to get Terminix to schedule for another treatment, especially since our apartment is considered uninhabitable, which forced me, my infant son and our dog to have to stay in a hotel. I had to take my infant son to the doc since he's been bitten by bed bugs and had rashes due to bed bugs. Terminix didn't treat the apartment because they thought they heard our dog barking when they knocked on the door and also didn't notify the landlord that they showed up so that they can get the key to treat the place and had to reschedule for treatment. I'm very disappointed as to how Terminix is handling the issue and not handling the issue in a proper manner. I hope that in the future, they will take the issue more seriously.

A year ago, I contacted Terminix to get rid of rats in my attic. They assured me they would do so. I paid $500.00. They came and for the most part, they stuffed steel wool in potential entries for the critters and the larger entries were covered with wire mesh. This all took them about one hour of time. They said I may have access in my garage, but that I would have to search for that because my garage was full of cupboards. My sons and I proceeded to do just that and following Terminix's lead, stuffed steel wool in the small crevices and wire mesh over the others, a task which was monumental to say the least. Then, I didn't hear from them until I called. They did no follow-up service nor did they intend to. The joke is, the rats pull out the steel wool and go on their merry way, re-entering my attic! Then if your wait to call them back exceeds their time frame, you are out of luck and have to start over! What kind of joke is this? Now I am out $500 and I still have rats! They will be lost in contracts with hidden words, talked into services they don't need, ripped off, and sent a different tech every time who always said, "Don't know, ma'am. I'm just a tech." And finally, the infestations of the original problem will never get solved - thousands of leg bugs which actually got bigger and fatter - by the time Terminix was "done" treating the problem. Did I mention no one ever calls you back, no matter how many messages you leave on their main number (They don't give out the branch number.)? I feel like I'm Alice in Wonderland with bugs around me. And I'm going from one operator to another, whirling around in circles of nauseousness, trying to find an answer to an unanswerable riddle, because all they say on the phone is "I don't know how to answer that, ma'am. We have vacation rentals. After one of our guests brought in bed bugs, we immediately brought in Terminex, no expense spared, to deal with the problem. They did not resolve the problem; the infestation continued and their visits continued. During the last episode, we were told that our guests keep bringing them in, which I find strange because during the last 3 months of "off season," we have had no guests and Terminex has been there several times. We pleaded with them to deal with the problem, because our rental season was starting and we could not have a problem like this. This week they, once again, left a note stating that they had treated the unit and that this time, with a chemical "guaranteed" kill-them-all.

We got a call at about 6:00 PM last night from a Terminex technician stating that he wanted to come over sometime today and treat the unit. We asked why we had been notified when he had already completed the treatment, and he could not give a coherent answer. We had our first guest of the season last night. We got a call from them at 1:30 AM that they were being eaten alive by bed bugs. We sent our property manager over at 2:00 AM, and she reported that they were everywhere - on the beds, on the furniture, and crawling all over the walls. She also reported that the problem has spread to other units in the building. We have asked to speak with a supervisor or manager and have not gotten a call back as promised.

We called this morning and were told that we would have to wait until they could fit us into their schedule to look at the problem. I called their national number to see if I could get them to motivate their local franchise and got a very lackluster response: "We'll have a manager call you back." They asked if I wanted my money back; I told them I just wanted the problem solved ASAP. The lack of their ability to deal with this problem is unacceptable. They do not seem to understand or care that if this issue hits our reviews, we will lose our rentals, our income, and our property. Any money they refund will not begin to cover our losses. We have just refunded the money for the current rental, which is more than we paid to Terminex. I should also mention that the ant problem, which we paid them to resolve, has not gotten better either. What kind of an outfit is this?
