    I want to share my horrible experience with Terminix. I moved into a 10 year old house in the Houston suburbs and wanted to protect my home from termites, so I agreed to sign a termite protection plan and charged it to my credit card. When I received the service agreement I noticed the terms and conditions and the length of the service plan was incorrect and the name on the agreement was spelled wrong as well. I immediately called the contact number for the Service Manager provided in the contract to inform him of the wrong information and to send me a corrected contract. The phone number provided to me was not in service, that's when I knew I was scammed.

    I have tried calling Terminix more than a dozen times but have not been able to reach the Service Manager nor any Terminix representative to return my calls. Once they have your signature in the document they disappear, with no way to contact them. I want to urge anyone considering services from Terminix to think twice before contacting them. Their sales tactics borders on fraud and I believe I was a victim of unethical behavior of the Service Manager.

    Very dissatisfied with Terminix. It's been three years and they still can't get rid of the termites eating the walls in the house. It takes a very long time for the process to get back to the customer. I guess I should've went with Orkin. Also for three years paid for the Protection plan. They are not the strongest guarantee business. Poor results. I would rate them zero stars for they are zero pest control company. Out $2,000.00. STILL HAVE TERMITES.

    Writing to warn other customers that they should stay away from Terminix. They have called to make us an appointment to inspect for termites, and we make an appointment, and the time comes and no one shows up. This has happened twice. One time they came when we did not have an appointment, it was scheduled for the following week, and left a notice stated they inspected the outside and INSIDE. We were in Houston that day with grandchildren, and were not home. I called the next day and the supervisor stated that the inspector was one of their best and is used to doing inside and outside of the house, and that is why it was checked inside.

    We decided to give another chance. September 13, 2016 we had an appointment scheduled between 3 and 5 pm. At 5:10 pm we called the 800 number and they said, "I see where you an appointment for today, but it is rescheduled for Thursday 10 am to 12 am." WHO gave them the right to just reschedule without talking to the homeowners. Will go to office tomorrow and cancel protection plan. After reading that there is over 5,000 complaints, we do not feel it is right to continue with this company.

    Before we agreed to a termite contact, Terminix was easy to contact and they were there to answer any questions. After we bought the service we noticed termite activity a few months later. I called the 800 number and went through a horrible phone tree system until I finally got a hold of someone to report the new termite activity. This was a Saturday, so the person said that someone would call me that following Monday.

    8 days later no one from Terminix has called. I called back today and explained the situation and asked why no one has called me back. They then said that someone will call me back in two days to see when an appointment could be scheduled. I asked to speak to a supervisor because I felt the service was unacceptable considering how expensive their termite plan was. I was then "transferred" and hung-up on. I would never recommend Terminix as a pest control service provider. Once they have your money, you are on your own. They even put a deceiving statement on their "Protection Guarantee" which states "Same-Day solutions for any of your termite needs". This is the most blatant piece of False Advertising that I have ever experienced.

    We’ve been using Ron for at least the whole time we've been with Terminix and we've requested him when we moved to a new house. He’s our guy. We have our scheduling done routinely. Terminix would call a day or two before he's gonna be here with the estimated time. He's always been on time and any time there's extra work that needs to be done like we might see a new bug in the house or on the outside, he's always ready to come out and take care of it. The last experience has been great and we haven't had any pest activity.

    If it wasn’t for Ron, I don’t know if we would still be with Terminix because of his level of customer service. He has been the best. The unfortunate thing is that it seems like Terminix's prices kept going up every quarter and they're making a lot. However, I understand that they've got to make money. We've recommended them to everybody we've spoken to.

    Had Terminix come in early July for an ant problem by my back door and flying ants by my side door. "Technician" came and sprayed the doorways and exterior entry points. Within 3 days my kitchen was infested, all over cabinets. Had them tell me "It takes 3 weeks", had them come back and "put granules" outside and spray again. Almost two months later we still have ants, they have now moved to the other cabinets and now we are also infested with fleas!! (Not even blaming on them, but come on). Question is - why didn't he use anything in my kitchen around sockets, baseboards etc? I called customer service multiple times and they won't let you speak to the local branch. They try to handle it through an 800 number. Would NEVER recommend this company, they do bear minimum, and when they offer to "come back until pests are gone" good luck trying to schedule a timely appointment. Complete racket.

    I called Terminix on Friday Sept 2nd, was told by the customer service rep that someone would be coming to my house on Saturday Sept 3rd between 1 and 3 pm for a mice problem. No one showed up or called. I called again on Sunday Sept 4th, spoke to an agent and he saw the comments from Friday's call and said he would have a manager call me 1st thing Tuesday Sept 6th. No one called. I called again on Tuesday night Sept 6th, spoke to an agent, said she would email a regional mgr to call on Wednesday Sept 7th. Still NO CALL!!! This is unacceptable!!! I will never do business with Terminix and I will tell family and friends not to also. Complete joke!!!

    Buyer beware if you select Terminix for your fumigation needs. My neighbors' roof was severely damaged in the tenting process. In brief, during the tenting process several tiles were cracked and broken (125 to be exact). Rather than halt fumigation to consult my neighbor to see how to proceed, they completed fumigation knowing the roof was not structurally appropriate. When my neighbor complained of damage after, Terminix was quick to rely on their signed contract stating they weren't responsible for any damage. Mind you, the damage exceeds the actual cost of termite fumigation. The damage was so extensive and outrageous, no one would sign a contract if they knew they were risking damage to this extent.

    Terminix was difficult to reach here at our local branch -- Jason ** (manager), Gerald ** (branch manager), and John ** (regional manager for Orange County, CA) all declined to return calls despite repeated efforts by their own Call Center to reach them to at least survey the damage themselves and discuss the unsatisfactory work that had been done by the Terminix crew. It is important to note, that 'some' damage is to be expected when tenting fumigation is done -- but, this was excessive. In their final report post-fumigation, Terminix noted 40 broken tiles. This was an outright lie. There were 125 upon a roofing inspection shortly after. This is when Terminix stopped responding to all communications to discuss. Essentially, they took the money and ran, is all that we can conclude at this point. Terminix is nothing short of a risk in our neighborhood's opinion. Sloppy work and absolutely no accountability.

    Our Terminix service is routinely done at some regular frequency. They come in and they leave with little fuss and little mess. The result of their effort is the fact that we are bug-free, and that pleases us greatly. The technician was always prompt, very efficient, very pleasant to speak with and work with. He had a warm smile and a “Good day to you!” and he's on his way.

    With their service, we have very little problem with our home. We're very pleased with the product they used and continue to do so. There is no pest activity. In fact, we've had little activity in over a year. The last time there was pest activity, I called the local office here in Northeast Florida, and within a day, our technician was on site. He responded promptly, cordially and dealt with the issue. He was gone and so was the issue. We've been customers for 15 years possibly and we are very confident with Terminix providing service and continue to invite them back here year after year and we do so gladly.

    After 3 weeks, I was able to receive a phone call from management and my credit was issued. Closed to my satisfaction. I update my rating to 3 stars. Service was good, still no bug issues. Took away 2 stars for the 3-week credit delay and consistent miscommunication. I would still recommend the service, just make sure you are aware of the next billing cycle and be OK with an unannounced change in service schedule times.

    Agents were helpful and kind setting up 3 month contract. I left a rave review with a link that they sent me. Now I feel the entire company is deceptive, corrupt and sneaky. Of course, the link they sent won't let me modify my review. We were told the original $169.00 for the three month period would cover all services for 3 months (1 quarter). We could call anytime within this time frame and there would be no further charges.

    1st appt was set for a Saturday afternoon. They showed up Saturday morning instead. Whatever. I called to request further services as the bug problem still remained. I set up an appt and no one ever showed. When I called to see why, they said the only record of service they had for me was for a termite inspection (which is not why they were there, nor did I want). I asked them to please send someone out and they told me they didn't have another appt for 2-3 weeks. When I said that was not acceptable, and I wanted someone to come out that day, like they had said they would I was told that they don't work weekends. (Of course this is after they had already been to my home on a weekend).

    I asked to talk to the manager at the shop that was handling my account and they refused to put me in touch with him. I set up another appt and again they showed at the incorrect time. I just called for one last service before my quarter ended and appt was set for a Monday at 5pm. Instead, they show up Saturday at 9:30am! (Again after I was told they don't work weekends!) This time they charged me $129.00! When I called to dispute the charge and request a refund, I was told they billed me "early" for the next quarter. I told them I did not want another quarter, and we argued politely. I was told my account was cancelled and a refund would be processed within 24-48 hours.

    I just called back after not seeing a refund and was told my account was not cancelled and that I had been informed incorrect for the past three months about additional charges. I still wanted my account closed and issued a refund. I was on hold 20 minutes and transferred 4 times only to be told the same thing I was told when I first requested the cancellation and refund, that the account was cancelled and the refund that they were so quick to charge, would be expedited to management for consideration.

    I think they should consider doing the proper thing today or I will be contacting the BBB. None of this is acceptable. The only positive thing out of this ordeal is that after 1 treatment a month for 3 months, the bugs that they were called for are finally gone. I feel I have been nothing but inconvenienced and mislead. Most of the time I get thrown into the computer for customer service. When I can reach a representative, they are usually kind, but not helpful in solving any of these problems. I would still like to speak to the manager at the local branch, which apparently trying to get him/her on the phone is similar to talking with the President of the USA! Maybe I will stop by in person!

    I have my service for 10 years or more now and I've always had satisfaction. Whenever I had an issue, they were immediately taken care of. Terminix was pretty quick to the rescue. So far, I haven't seen any problems. I found a few dead bugs in the house since the last time we've had somebody here inside the house. My only issue is I have a finished basement and the house has a couple of openings, so I always have spiders coming in. So I need to recoat or winterize my windows or doors because they have easy access to my house. But I need to do that for my part and I guess there is nothing that Terminix can do about it. Other than that, I have no complaints.

    We have both the termite and pest service from Terminix, and they seem to do a good job. We have it performed routinely, but once in a while, we have to change the time. They’ve always been very cooperative and helpful with that. We see the pest control people every other month, and the termite people come once a year. So far, the pest people have been very pleasant. If we find something after they’ve gone, they come back and spray again or do what they're supposed to do. We haven't seen bugs or anything since the last service.

    I have Terminix's service performed routinely, but sometimes they over-schedule their people. I called for an extra time and they scheduled someone, but they're scheduling so tightly that he couldn’t make it. Then I called again and they set a time, and evidently, it was a regular time. I had somebody here working and they went through the house and put out some mouse things, but the mouse was smarter so we didn’t the catch it. I was getting ready to call them again. I understand mice are hard to get, I still have my mouse so I need them back again.

    We were having quite an infestation of carpenter ants, which was why I called Terminix to begin with. I didn’t know what to expect and I didn’t expect such obvious good results. Mike was out in July doing the second of his four stops. He was right on time and very efficient, very pleasant guy, answers all my questions, and very business-like but very thorough. He called to remind me that he was due and to make sure there would be somebody here. He calls to suggest the date and it's worked out fine so far.

    I had him back after the first service because we saw some activity in a new spot. He came right out and took care of it within a day or so of my asking him. He goes around and sprays the foundation I usually walk around on. We have a large house with quite a huge foundation area. I walk along and we chat, but he doesn’t miss an inch. He's somebody Terminix wants to hang on to. I've already told Mike that we would probably stay with Terminix next year just to make sure only because it was such an infestation. We had the ants all over the house this spring, but so far, so good. I thought we would still have the ants crawling around here and there, but I literally cannot find one and we've hunted. Overall it’s been better than expected.

    I'm more than satisfied with Terminix. We have their services performed routinely and our technician is a very nice person, but I don't happen to see him that often. He is definitely professional and courteous, and really interested if we have any other areas of concern. I only have good things to say about our technician. Terminix always call and let me know when they're coming. We had some little tiny sugar ants inside which they took care of and we haven't had any reason to have them inside in the past two years.

    I have some other things going on including a raccoon in my yard, which is not in this service. Their main service is rat and spider control. We live on a lake where there's a rock coast and I have a huge vegetable garden, which draws the raccoons and probably also the rats and grapes. These rats are normally under control, but because we are baiting this racoon trap with another service, it appears that the rats are also enjoying the bait. We're about done with the raccoon episode and as soon as we get rid of the baiting the trap for the raccoon, I anticipate that our rat situation will just be like it normally is. Terminix is doing a fine job and I am gonna contact them and have my technician see what the bait situation is in my rat traps.

    During my most recent claim, I had the chance to interact with the actual sales representative that came out from Terminix. He was able to come in and take a look in the basement area. They were able to put down the traps and checked the traps from the previous time that were set. The only thing is I usually have to call them and let them know that when they come out to do an inspection, I would prefer to be here so I can see what they do when they're doing that inspection. Usually, they’ll give me a heads-up like an email. For the last two services, I didn’t receive an email heads-up saying they were even coming out, so I didn’t realize they were.

    Terminix service thus far has been pretty good. However, by the end of this year, I will terminate it because their service hasn’t been that effective and I still have the droppings. That’s maybe because when they come out, they're not able to check and go in the house because I don’t know they're coming out and therefore I might not be around. They should definitely try to interact with the customers a little bit better. The customer may have seen certain things from the last time they were there that they wouldn't necessarily see on the outside.

    I've only had Terminix once. Scheduling was pretty easy. I put in a request online and somebody called me. They were able to get out here a couple of days later. The technician they sent was friendly and he got right to it and didn't take up too much time. There's still some pest activities but we're by a big open field so it's coming in from the outside, and they can only do so much about that. Overall, it was efficient and effective. They did the job they were supposed to do.

    Worse service ever! Had an annual service scheduled, service man came and I didn't hear the doorbell. Went to the window and saw him still parked at the curb. I ran downstairs and apologized for not hearing him and asked him to come in. He told me it was too late he'd already closed out my ticket. I pointed out he was still here but he got the ticket to show me he closed it out and refused to complete the service.

    I called the Terminix office and they were of no help and didn't bother to set up a new appointment for me. Then I received an automated voicemail stating they were coming to do the quarterly pest application. Didn't check with me, just scheduled it for their convenience. I called the day before on a "recorded line" and canceled the appointment. The next day I found a note on my door they did the application anyway. I was already hiring a new pest control service so I didn't want this done! I got a bill for the service I canceled. They kept calling about the bill and I explained over and over again that this was canceled and to check their "recorded line"! Today I got a collection notice. REALLY??? Is this the way they do business! DON'T HIRE THEM. Arrow is a wonderful service!

    Terminix has always been great. They come every 90 days and they let us know when they're gonna come. If there's a problem with the schedule, we just give them a call and they adjust their visit. We have the same technician every time, a guy named Lawrence. He's very polite and he's very clean when he comes into the house.     I called for the Terminix technician to come out recently and he did quite a bit. However we still have a flea problem as well as an attic rat and roaches. My pit bull has also been infested by fleas. The technician may need to come out every couple of weeks and do both outside and inside of the house to take care of the remaining problems. We didn't hear him ring the door bell when he arrived to service the inside and outside of our home so he serviced the outside and left. I didn't realize that he had been at the property so I called and asked if he forgot about us. Next day rep. came stating they no longer do one time treatments because they were proven ineffective. He also told me the contact Had no record of any transaction previously. BTW the rep the night before took my credit card info. There was no record of that either... We agreed on a plan and the first treatment was scheduled for the next day. That same day another rep showed up stating that he was here to do the one time treatment!! Very shady operation... Obviously the right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing!! BEWARE!!

    A few days ago we had a huge and aggressive infestation of yellowjackets in our log home. Seemed to come out of nowhere and basically took over the inside and outside of our house in rural north central Ohio. We called the Terminix national number to schedule an appointment and explained the urgency of our problem, and that both myself and spouse had already been stung by the insects getting through the walls and inside. We were told that a technician would be out the next day and that he would thoroughly treat the inside and outside of the house and remove any nests that were found, as well as treating entry points. We again stressed that the infestation appeared to be large, that the yellowjackets were in the walls (we could hear them from inside the house) and that they were an immediate hazard to those within and outside.

    A technician arrived next day but, by his own admission, was totally unprepared to deal with what he found. He attempted to treat the infestation literally with a can of insect repellant and a small hand sprayer filled with Termidor. He claimed that he had no prior knowledge of the seriousness of our problem and didn't have the proper gear to deal with the aggressive yellow-jackets (no protective clothing, an inoperative truck pump sprayer etc.). He consulted on the phone with his regional manager who counseled him to not proceed with the job, and then told us that his manager would be contacting us later that day to arrange to have someone come out with the proper equipment as soon as possible. The technician kept reiterating that he hadn't seen anything like our infestation in a long time and that he was over his head.

    I agreed that it was much more serious than what he had on hand to deal with the problem and repeated that the yellowjackets were in the house and that we had killed at least 15-20 over the past day and a half, having been stung twice in the process. He said that since the job was not complete, he would not collect the $200 dollar fee for his effort. We shook hands and he left at approximately 2:30 pm. Two and a half hours later I still had received no call from the manager, having killed another three insects in the process and having been stung in the neck. At that point I called the national Terminix number again and explained to a service rep that I was awaiting a call from the Canton Ohio regional manager to arrange to have our service completed ASAP. That service rep had no record of our service request or tech visit, even after giving him all our details.

    I was transferred to what I think was a regional service rep who also had no record of our original call, but finally was able to dig up our address and phone number verifying that we had called the day before. However she had no record of our problem and asked me to explain again where the infestation was occurring. At this point I totally lost control and explained about the recent incomplete visit and call that I was waiting for. After being put on hold for 5 minutes with no explanation, I was patched through to the regional manager who informed me that he wouldn't be able to send anyone out until Saturday (today was Wednesday), and that if the yellow-jackets were in the house, that maybe I should call someone else. I pointed out that he had sent out a tech totally unprepared to deal with the problem and was informed that they had no information on the nature of the infestation or the seriousness of it prior to coming out.

    As of this writing the problem still exists, we have a large nest of yellow-jackets living under our back porch, a house that has not been thoroughly sprayed as the Terminix tech suggested and our living with a danger to ourselves and our pets. I plan to cancel the Saturday appointment with Terminix and find someone locally who has a full grasp of what "serious" means, though the Terminix technician who was here seemed to appreciate the situation. Nice to know that Canton Ohio Terminix protects its employees from dangerous situations but couldn't give a damn about its customers or their safety!

    I went through Terminix because I heard good reviews about them and I found out they are a ripoff. I did better by using Raid to kill roaches and my family did not become sick of the chemical as with Terminix and now they refuse to refund my money. I have been contacting them since July 22 about my refund and they give me a runaround every time. First it will be 5-7 business days, then they cut refund checks on the 1st and 15th of every month to know they can't find my refund and now they are telling me it take 2-5 weeks to process.     A Terminix technician treated our home in early June. A mere three and a half weeks later, I noticed several small black ants in my lower level bathroom. I cleaned them up and did not notice any additional ants in the bathroom that day. However, I woke up the next morning to find an infestation of the little black ants in the kitchen. I called Terminix that morning and the representative indicated the next available technician appointment was nearly a week later.

    Naturally, I was extremely disappointed to hear I had to wait nearly a week to treat a massive ant infestation in the kitchen 3 weeks after Terminix treated my house. In any case, I made the appointment and when the day and time came, the technician was a no call no show. I went online and made another appointment, as calling to make appointments seemed to be useless. Two days after I made the appointment online, I received a call from Terminix. The rep indicated she could get me an earlier appointment because of the previously missed appointment. Lo and behold, when that date and time came, the technician was a no call no show yet again.

    At this point I was fed up with Terminix. I read the contract which stated the technician was supposed to treat the interior and exterior of the premises on the first visit. Well our technician only treated the exterior perimeter of my house. I called Terminix and of course they tried to get me to wait yet another week for an appointment. I told them I was not going to deal with their incompetence and poor customer service anymore. I cancelled the remainder of my service contract.

    I will never use Terminix or any ServiceMaster company again! Also if you google Terminix lawsuits you will see they were responsible for poisoning a family to the point of paralysis and brain damage in the US Virgin Islands. Further they poisoned a 10 year old boy in Palm City Florida. This company is a menace to society, beware!!!

    We have a special schedule with Terminix. The fellow who came here recently met and exceeded my expectations. When I called to make the appointment, they said he would come out the next day, and he did. He was very friendly. He came in and took his shoes off, which was really nice. He asked questions about infestations we have seen or anything in particular that he should be looking at in addition to the normal places that he would look. He did a very nice job.

    One night, I was sitting and watching television, and I'm sewing so I have a light. All of a sudden, there are 200 termites flying all around this lamp. It was the most sickening thing. They're like little worms with wings. I then called the next morning and asked if someone could come out, and they said someone will contact me within a week. I told them I can't even turn the lights on at night, and I'd have to sit for a whole week in the dark. They said there's nothing they can do. I called about half a dozen other people and they said someone will be back to me within 24-hours, and they still came a week later. There's no care. It was going to be a week, whether there was a problem or not. I understand that there aren't a lot of ways to take care of termites but at the same time, I have an expensive contract and for someone else to not care it was really sad.

    Terminix itself is doing a horrible job, and if we didn't have a long-term contract with them on our building for our termites, we probably would have changed. We've paid into it for 10 years, and it would not be in our best interest to change it. When you dial their main number, there is a total lack of taking responsibility. Perhaps they're not able to schedule people or they're not able to solve problems. They're insensitive. I have several pages of missed commitments for a local person to come here, and it's really sad. As a whole, they did not live up to my expectations.

    Terminix cost me hundreds of dollars to put myself in a hotel for two extra weeks because when we were remodeling my house, we came and found termite damage. When we reported it and they treated it, it took them longer than they meant to fix it, and I couldn’t remodel my house until they fixed it. Now I’ll just resell it. I found three different termite infestations in my house before they did. Then it would take forever to get them to come out. For the last nine years, I’ve been doing three-year renewals so I don’t have to deal with their local office any more frequently, and then when I do have to deal with their office, I can’t get them to deal with me. So I have to call corporate in Memphis and then they have to call the local office to let me pay so that my contract won’t lapse. I’m on the Mexican border but I’m not in a third world country, but they treat me that way.

    I didn’t really want to buy Terminix to begin with but the local branch manager he said we'd get what we pay for with Terminix and when they find damage, they'd fix it if we’re under contract with them and that’s what we did. However, I was unable to get a hold of any managers for years. Nobody’s come out, nobody’s inspected and they haven’t done the yearly inspection. Now I’ve got termite damage in an interior wall in a guest bedroom and the next year or two, I found damage on my garage, which they fixed. Then we found damage in and around the bookshelves, and they went ahead and cut a hole in the bookshelf so that they could drill a hole in the foundation of my house to treat termites there. Every time, I had to find the damage and call corporate to get somebody out to fix it.

    But the last time, we were remodeling the house due to a water break in our kitchen and we decided that we’d do the woodwork throughout the house to match, which included two bookshelves on either side of our fireplace. When we tore out the bookshelves before the tile came out, we saw the termite damage on both sides. We called, they came out, and they fixed it. Then came the week to turn the tile and it took two weeks for us to do everything we needed to do. We couldn’t set the tile, build the bookshelves or even put the marble on the fireplace like we had planned because they hadn’t fixed the wall.

    If only they'd come in a timely fashion like they said you would, I could’ve finished my renovation. But I can’t move into my house until it’s done so we were in a hotel for another two weeks. I said, we'd have to stay in a hotel for another two weeks and they said they'd find somebody that can do it. I had to continue to do business with them because of the contract. It’s not transferable to another company that’s more responsive to my need. And even though we had the manager come over to our house with his construction guy, at the end of the day, I couldn’t get a hold of the guy.

    As much as they have been responsive on a corporate level, it’s cost me money, and that’s the sad thing. Luckily I was taking my house apart or I wouldn’t have found that damage on the load-bearing walls. If I haven't had the kitchen leak that caused me to remodel my house and I hadn’t taken out the woodwork, I still would have termite damage which could have resulted in loss of my entire home if a hurricane came through, because the load-bearing walls’ roof would have been ripped off the house if it wasn’t bolted down to a floor plate that no longer existed, thanks to the termites. I can’t get them to do their job until I get corporate involved.

    I’m not happy with their service but as far as a product goes, I can’t imagine who else can protect my house and my belongings. I need Terminix. I’m from a termite area. So Terminix as a product is wonderful, but the service is terrible. I love them and I love the fact that they stand behind their product, but the fact that they cost me thousands of dollars because they couldn’t stand up to their word in a timely fashion and left me in a hotel while my home is being remediated with all the work being stopped because we couldn’t fix their wall within a month, was awful. I figured two weeks was enough, and that’s what I told my guys and they worked all around it until they couldn’t do anymore.

    As a matter of fact, we weren’t able to get our cabinets built until much later. We had to move back into our house. We’ve already spent $2,000-plus more on hotel than we planned. We’ve got to move back into our house and we were living in a house that I had to come home every day with cabinet makers, and this was all because Terminix put me behind schedule. So it was a nightmare.

    After Terminix called me and set up an appt time with me from 5-7 they never showed up. I called 3 different times that evening for them to tell me the tech was on his way and would arrive in about 15 mins. When I called the last time at 8:30 the lady said the appt time was not set up properly and she would have someone call me from their corporate office the next morning. That never did happen! The tech himself came out and said he told his supervisor that he needed to call me as well. That did not happen. I was also promised a free termite inspection and that did not happen. I paid $150 for him to spray a very small amount of pesticides around my baseboards and leave. I was told they would spray all around the outside and my attic and none of those things happen!

    The only way to make appointments is through their 800 number. The technicians show up 50% of the time. When I complain, I am told that the service manager for my area (Streamwood IL) Mike ** will call me. He does not. I must call the 800 number for a new appointment (usually 2 weeks away). I wrote a registered letter to the president of the company, Bill Derwin, in Memphis TN. He did not respond to me and that was several months ago.

    Terminix recently came and sprayed our acreage for mosquitoes. The technician that came was fine. But the first time they came last year, they put on our invoice how much product they use and starting this year, they're only using about 50% of the number of ounces that they used the last time. When I called last month and told them I wasn't happy about that, the girl I talked to said that they don't go by ounces, they go by what they need to spray. The unfortunate part was that the tech missed part of our yard, but they made it up by coming back and reapplying. But it's a great product.     We were in the Dollar General Store in Arapahoe NC asking the clerk about something for mosquitoes, when a gentleman from Terminix approached us. We told him we wanting something for the mosquitoes at our home. The Terminix employee came back to our home and sold us a quarterly contract. He told us to call a couple of days before we came down each time and they would come out and spray. We called a couple of weeks later and was told they do not spray but once a month. So the Terminix employee lied to us just to make a sale. (I have his name if anyone at Terminix customer service cares.) I called his manager (I have his name also) and told him the story and he wanted to sell us a Mosquito Management Service Plan, which still would not be what the agent told us and what we wanted. The first time that it was done, I called in and they were very professional, they took care of it very quickly, and I had somebody out there in the next two days.     I would recommend Terminix. What they do when they're here has been very good. But we have one complaint. Although our most recent experience was good, they came at about a half hour late. We also have had some problems in the past where they were supposed to come, especially for mosquito spraying, and they didn’t and we didn’t hear from them. I don’t have a problem with scheduling service and they’ve been very good in telling me the time they would be here, but they don’t necessarily always show up like they're supposed to. Still, every technician who has ever been here was very nice, polite, helpful, and has answered questions. We did not have any bug control when we first moved into the home and now we're noticing a much, much improvement in our pest situation from the way it was at first since having services from Terminix. We're on our second year with them now.

    I have had a horrible experience with Terminix, or should I say lack there of. I had scheduled home inspection for today between 5-7pm. I left work early so to be here by 5pm. The service tech never showed up. I called at 710pm to see if the tech was running late to be told that he closed out the service as if he had been here. The rep I spoke with had the tech call me shortly after. He insisted that he had come here and that he had called several times, yet I was here (with my front door open and phone handy). The tech then attempted to tell me he went to the wrong address (which address he said he went to doesn't exist). I have spoke with couple of neighbors and none of them had a Terminix tech knock on their door either.

    If this is the service you receive when they are trying to get your business, then what kind of service do you receive after signing a contract? I read several reviews and should have listened to them. Majority recommended using local company or anyone other than Terminix. I will now call a local company and pray for better service!!!

    Our Terminix technician, the mosquito man, has been very pleasant. I hardly see the person who supposedly inspects the house, but they come and leave something on the door. That man is hardly here any time at all, but I'll assume that he knows what he's doing. Years ago, they used to go under the house and really examine it but they don't do that anymore. Mosquitoes are big deal in Louisiana and my husband died from West Nile. It was probably from mosquitoes which is why I've got the mosquito protection and it's helping.     I use Terminix for the little bugs that eat all the wood. When I call to schedule a service, they tell me it's probably within two days that I'd get somebody and when they come, they do what they say they're going to do. The techs are always very pleasant. They also tell me that they're going to spray for other stuff and try to tell me exactly what they're doing and what it'll do. I sign their little thing and they go. They also come out when I think I need it. Other than that, they just every so often come out. I pay them monthly and it has been great since I got their service. However, I signed up for the service on the 25th of May, and I've just been treated a couple of times because of scheduling issues. I had some problems with the scheduling. I called and got one of the call centers. The person I talked with was very nice. This was a week before last, and I made sure I was available for the two or three hour window that was scheduled, but nobody showed up.

    I called in, and, apparently, somebody put in my service schedule on the wrong column. So I know the company's too big. But the regional sales or the local people are very good. They will just call me directly. I called one of the guys at Terminix yesterday to get the retreatment done, and maybe he did see on his computer screen that this was scheduled for the day, but I never heard from him. I called him on Monday, and, so far, he hasn't called me back.

    The biggest problem that I have is the nature of their product. If it rains within 24 hours of application, they've got to redo the treatment. But in the summer here in Memphis, Tennessee, it's probably going to rain at some point every afternoon. So by the sheer nature of their product, it's a real hassle. It doesn't seem like it's the right product and they need to perfect that product a little bit. They were out there last Friday, and in fact, the Terminix fellow did the retreatment today.

    Mike, the guy who came out last time, was excellent. He knows what he's doing. Apparently, he's been in the business for a long time and he's very thorough. The people that I've met and dealt with before have been very professional and have done an excellent job. But the young guy who came out today, although he was a nice fellow, wasn't adequately trained and Terminix just cut him loose by himself, so the service hasn't worked at all with him. I didn't have time to show him around the yard, and I think he was just looking to do the very minimum. I actually increased the acreage coverage this last time in the hope that maybe this would do some good, but even that was a hassle. It wasn't for the fact that the regional sales people were coming out shadowing another salesman, the tech wasn't allowed to increase the coverage area on his own, so that wasn't even going to happen.

    It's the scheduling and getting something accomplished that's very poor. I thought I'd give their mosquito treatment a shot, but it seems like the company's too busy trying to sell me something else, without a warning. They sent a guy out trying to do a termite inspection, but I've already got a termite treatment with another company. I looked out last Friday because the salesman was in the area. He came out and they've got all these nice computers and cool tablets, but if he doesn't have the authority to make an on-the-spot call, it's useless.

    I'd just be happy if the service I signed up for and that I'm paying for would be done and would work. I'm not even sure yet if it would work because they say that you have to be treated for two to three months before you see any results. But the season will be over before I'm treated for two or three months consecutively, so I'm at a loss. The people that come out on the field are very good. It's just that there's some disconnect between the headquarters and the people on the field. In my experience, the service needs work overall.

    We have the Ultimate Protection Package with Terminix, and according to that contract, they are to come out quarterly AND whenever we call them to do so. They were just here three days ago to perform our quarterly service, and everything looked to be effective... until this morning. We have SWARMS - HANDFULS - of stinging insects entering and exiting the wall of our main bathroom. I can hear them inside the bathroom but don't want to get close enough to determine if they're hornets, yellow jackets, or wasps. When I called Terminix, they acknowledged that it was an urgent problem, in need of immediate service, but they are unable to reach their local office. When I asked if they could not reach the office, how would the office know to reach me, they had no answer.

    The best they can offer me is that the local Terminix office will call me in 24 hours to let me know if they could come out today or not. Really, they can even call me tomorrow to let me know if they can come out today? Yes, that is the best they can do. Meanwhile I have a horror movie-worthy and ever-growing collection of stinging insects coming into my home in the room where I bathe my two young children. When I threatened to cancel my contract (as they are obviously unable to fulfill their end of the agreement), I was told by "Sara", a customer service MANAGER, that "That's fine. Go ahead." Call my bluff, Terminix!

Josh, the guy that does my service is amazing, professional and excellent and that's the reason I'm still with Terminix.     Terminix comes out three times a year. They tell me the date of the service and then I can change it through an automated system. Dylan, their technician, is awesome. I’ve been working with him for a while, and he’s very personable, polite and really thorough. He does a good job to make sure he covers and explains everything.     We use Terminix generally four times a year. They do the service every three months and they hire really nice people who come and are enjoyable to talk to. They're not going to hang around for three hours and talk to us because they got work to do, but they don't just do the work and run off either. Recently, a technician came over to do a mosquito treatment and there has been a little miscommunication. He still did his job and the miscommunication wasn’t his fault. I never have pests since using Terminix and I would recommend them to a friend.

    I have never dealt with a company with such unresponsive customer service. I've had problems with the local branch missing scheduled appointments and doing a poor job on our rodent control contract. I've tried to contact the local office but that doesn't work since everything is now centralized. I've tried several ways of getting the message through to the central office, but not of my appeals have been answered, not by phone, not by email. I requested a refund; they claim they give a 100% customer service guarantee. Don't believe it. I'm sorry I ever took out a contract for pest control with them.
