I agreed to pay $278.00 for a visit, which I believed included 3 follow up visits. However after the first three month follow up I received a bill for $193.00. The gentleman that came out simply walked around the perimeter of the home and sprayed. He was here less than 20 min. I called to discuss the bill and found that indeed I had misunderstood the agreement. So I asked to cancel any further service because I think that's too much money to pay for a 20 min service. The company was willing to bill me $100 for the walk around to which I still feel is too much for less than 20 min.
I'm not trying to get anything for free and I offered to pay $49.00 and to simply cancel service. They refused, they cancelled my service, but are still billing me for $193.00. No serviceman who walks around spraying a generic chemical should make more money than my local physician. $200 for 10-20 min? That's inflated and unreasonable. Maybe I could understand if he was climbing underneath a home or in an attic. But simply to walk around my perimeter??? This is gouging.

Terminix from Plymouth Meeting PA. Do not use this company. They lie. Their "free inspection" for bed bugs involves looking in one room. We were afraid we had bed bugs because a friend of ours had them, and we go over their house a lot. The "salesperson" who came over to do the free inspection led me to believe that they were going to be using a freezing technique instead of using chemicals, but when the technician finally came he said he didn't have time to do freezing because it would take him all day, so he was using chemicals everywhere. On a quick side note, my two senior cats were both dead within a week after the treatments. Maybe it was a coincidence, but the timing is suspect.
Also, the person who sold us the job lead me to think that there were some indications of bedbugs, but I know now there was never any bedbugs in my house at all. We were sold a bill of goods. What really infuriates me, however, is the fact that she told me that, for a little bit more money, we would get a guarantee, be covered for one year, and get four additional general treatments.
When we got the first treatment, we got another bill to our credit card which we weren't expecting. It turns out that the additional money we paid did not cover the additional treatments. It was only a warranty for the bedbugs. However, you only get that warranty if you pay for the additional treatments. It's actually like having to pay for the warranty five times. It's a total rip off.
When I called to complain, they said that is what was in the contract. It's true. It was in the contract, but that is not what the sales associate told me. The contract is really long and it’s hard to imagine reading the whole thing while the sales associate is standing there. She knew that and lied to my face. It’s her job to sell. She did a good job of it, because she sure did sell me. I’d have a lot more respect for a company that says, "You don't need this, but keep us in mind for the future.“ Bye bye $1500.

Terminix convinced me that they could eliminate bed bugs from my house, so I hired them to do so. They applied several different types of pesticides four times over two months (which is the only thing they can do), but the pesticides did not work. Terminix should know that they are incapable of exterminating bed bugs, and they should not claim that they can. I gave up on Terminix and hired a heat treatment company. The heat treatment worked. The only reason this rating is two stars instead of one is because Terminix' customer service is adequate.

Rated poorly for: Value, Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality. Terminix is the worst company ever. I urge you all to look for another company for you extermination needs. I asked for a specific service and specifically stated "I DID NOT WANT A RECURRING BILL." Sure enough they did the job and sure enough signed me up for auto pay saying the service I requested comes with recurring fees. So this little job will cost me over 3 grand. Screw this company. Let's all get together to push them out and have them close all branches. Bunch of scammers!!!!
I am going to many social media outlets to tell my story and press everyone to stay clear of terminix. I also work for local police with over 200 officers. I will be making a poster to put on the bulletin board so everyone that needs assistance will use another company to help put the local branch out of business .DOWN WITH HAMILTON NJ BRANCH!!!! #terminix #terminixsucks. #hamiltonterminixscam

Terminix operates like a monthly magazine scam. They sent someone out to spray the outside of my home (and that's literally all they did) four times which is all I paid them for. Instead of contacting me to see if I wanted another spray, they sent someone anyway and sent me a bill later. I called and told them I did not have the disposable income anymore, did not want to continue my service and that I did not want the additional service they provided. The representative I spoke to said she understood and I did not owe them the payment. I then got robo call after robo call saying I owed them a payment.
I did not pay them and today received a letter from a collection agency. They refused to listen to the call of the original representative even though the call begins with "your call with be recorded" and insisted that the charge was valid. I never provided them my SSN nor did I give them consent to come onto my property after the fourth (and what should have been final) spray. Terminix is a scam that tries to suck one final payment out of you. Do yourself a favor and go to Home Depot and buy the $29.99 spray and do it yourself. It works exactly the same and you don't have to deal with these people and have them screw with your credit score due to their own stupidity.

I asked Terminix to provide a quote for my older home. In fact I asked several companies to come and quote. When Jon B. got there he was very friendly and professional. He educated me all along the process. The house had low crawlspace but he put on his jumpsuit and with flashlight in hand crawled under there and made a complete inspection, taking pictures along the way. I felt like he done a great inspection. As a side note, one of the other companies came but the inspector was too big to do the inspection. Another company didn’t show up for their appointment. Jon inspected the interior and then sit down and drew out the house and added his photos. In the end I had a quote and even though the price was a little higher, I went with Terminix mainly due to the excellent service and employee. A year later I am still satisfied with them.

I was given an appointment Friday morning between 8:00 and 10:00 to inspect and do an exclusion for rats. I asked the lady if there was an additional charge for this service and she said, no, this was part of the service I was already paying for. I realize she was in a call center, but she does represent Terminix. She should give the customer accurate information. Well, no one called or came, so I called them again was rescheduled for Saturday afternoon. The guy inspected and gave us a price for the inclusion for $1000. Needless to say I was totally shocked, given the fact I was told it was included in my service. I am currently looking at other pest control companies.

Even though I have had termite protection contracts with Terminix for over 10 yrs. I had the worst experience this year - past years were less than satisfactory because I had to call back several times to get them to follow through on scheduling inspections for following through with what they said they were going to do. March 2019, Terminix inspected and said they were going to come out and treat then replace some damaged wood. After several calls they finally came back out December 2019 to treat the wood but to date- not follow up as promised on the wood replacement. Again, I have to spend time getting their team to respond as not 9 months later, what was promised still has not been completed. The experience has lead me to conclude I will no longer subscribe to Terminix termite protection.

I am not sure how many years I have had Terminix service, but I have always been pleased with the technicians who have provided my service. I say this because: (1) I receive notice in advance of the service, notifying me of the date they will be at my house and (2) any special instructions -- which gives me a chance to let them know how to access my backyard, and which plants are important not to disturb, etc. So, thanks, Terminix, for several years of wonderful service, and Happy New Year!

We had Terminix come and spray under our home 4 weeks ago. We were told it was safe as long as we were not in direct contact so we did not remove our pets from the house. One of our kitties started panting and drooling about an hour after the service people left, she started to behave erratically and her tongue was hanging out of her mouth. We had to contact poison control and take her to the emergency vet. She was poisoned by the fumes. She luckily recovered, but we accrued over 1200 dollars in vet bills and terminix kept giving us the run around and refuses to pay the vet bill or reimburse us in any way. We have had a hard time even talking to anyone and it feels like they dont care that they almost killed our baby. It would have been easy to keep them upstairs or take them away for a bit, but we were assured there was no danger. They should have warned us, or used a better cleaner.

"My friends family had a great experience with a Terminix, so I booked them because we had a rat infestation in our garage. They came out pretty quickly for the assessment. Then the guy came out and set up tons of traps, patched where they were getting in. I was very pleased because they were fast and professional, but that was the last time anyone ever came out. No one came to take care of the poor rats stuck in glue traps that were hopping around our garage, even though we called and begged them to come. No one came when the rats died.
Two months went by. 5+ appointments were missed. Finally we cleaned up the rats ourselves and asked for a full refund. We still have two glue traps and two other traps in our attic (empty thank God), and three snap traps I set off with a broom lying in our garage. We did get a refund, but it was ridiculous. For $1000 you’d expect a responsive company, but no one ever came. We called and called. It was terrible."

I ordered this service in June, they came round and sprayed chemicals, within 2 weeks the pests were gone, great job!! However this is where the google reviews were correct, in June I cancelled the service, I was told ok and good day. In September they turn up and and knock on the door, I tell them I cancelled the service and they leave without spraying one drop. Today December 20, 2019 they turn up again and let themselves in and start spraying, my wife informs them that they have been cancelled.
I call Terminix and they say they do not have any record of me calling in to cancel. Surprise surprise, the last time I called the customer service agent she said, "Ok it's cancelled," today they put me through to an account cancellation department, funny why wasn't I put through to that department before. I told them that I have camera footage of the September visit of the guy coming and leaving without providing a service and I get told that I will not be getting my money back for the last two visits.
If you find yourself using this service then I would say that if you want to cancel then you need to go through all the hoops they make you go through and make sure you receive an email from them within two days as your back up otherwise they will squeeze this money from you. They are scumbags for doing this. I cannot afford the last two payments of $149. This is one of the reasons I cancelled, and the other reason I cancelled is because I show the chemical list to someone and they said that all the chemicals used I could have got myself and their chemicals were not really specific to my original post problem so it was a waste.
Thing with terminix is that they got so big that they can get away with these small scams because their primary money maker is big companies and they just screw people like me over for the extra little bit of change because they know there nothing I can do about it. My advice is use them and make sure you have documentation of cancellation or what I would do is find a reputable company, shame because my realtor advised me not to go to terminix because they re scammers.

The service is great if you can get someone to actually come out. Customer service is useless as they use call centers overseas and they barely speak English. They say, "Oh we are coming on this day" and never show. I have the business card of a technician who was supposed to send his colleague last time and he never showed. I am happy with the bugs being gone. That is not the issue. I still need them to do something about the animals under the porch and under the garage. Their ads claim they get rid of wild animals for you. If there is some way to get a hold of a human being that speaks English please let me know. If there is a way to get someone to actually come to the house that would be great. I don't know why such a big company has such communication problems.

Terminix has poor customer service and conflict resolution. In December of 2018, I paid my contract amount in full for the entire year. However, every month I had to call Terminix customer service call center because my debit card was being charged monthly even though I paid the year in advance. This caused a lot of financial problems for me as Terminix was not authorized to withdraw these amounts from my account. Speaking to the Terminix customer service representatives was extremely painful, and never yielded any positive results. No one in Customer Service was ever able to help, not even supervisors. Sometimes supervisors would apologize and assure me that it would not happen again. However, without fail, like a recurring nightmare, I continued to be billed monthly. Terminix illegally / erroneously drafted from my debit account.
Eventually, I demanded that they remove my checking account information off of their files, but I am still being billed monthly via invoice for a service I paid upfront for a year in advance. The customer's only point of contact is with their customer service department. Each time I called, I requested direct contact information for either the billing department or the local office in hopes that I could get someone to finally resolve this issue. The call center informed me on several occasions that they are unable to give contact information to any other department, and they can only send an escalation email for someone to call me back within 24-48 hours. In the many calls I've made, I get the same response, but no one ever calls back. It has been a year and I'm still being billed monthly.

I called Terminix to come out and deal with a mice and spider problem as I do not want to deal with them myself. The guy came out and looked around then told me that if I want to get rid of the spiders I need to take down the webs. But that’s what I was paying them to do. Then he threw some glue traps around and that’s it. I asked him what happened when something gets caught in the trap. He said, "Call us and we will get rid of it." I was not happy after the appointment since when I made it I was told they would do all kinds of things to help with the spiders and mice.
Hours after he left a mouse got caught in a trap in my kitchen right by the fridge and bathroom. I called them to take care of it and they said they would be out next week sometime. I was definitely not happy at that point because now I get to have a mouse on my kitchen floor in plain sight. It was screaming and wiggling and not only was I too freaked out to use the kitchen or bathroom but I felt horrible. I ended up hiring someone else to clear the traps and set new ones. I also had to hire someone to clear the spider webs and bomb for the spiders.
I called terminix the very day of my appointment to cancel all future services and express how dissatisfied I was with the service. They charged me around $150 days later. Terminix supposedly has a 30 day money back guarantee. We I called them about this they gave me the run around for months. Every time I called I was told the same thing, "You signed a paper when the guy left." Which I’m not sure what that has to do with the 30 day money back guarantee. I also told them, "I was unhappy before you charged me and told you that the day of the service." Then the person on the phone would tell me I have to wait for a supervisor to call me back. That call never came. I called them to complain at least 7 times but still have not heard back for anybody.
This is their “guarantee.” "100% satisfaction or your money back: If you're not happy with results anytime within the first 30 days after treatment, we will refund your annual payment and cancel your termite plan. 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Terminix attempts to respond to its customers within two hours of the initial contact every day of the year, 24 hours a day. ... Under this guarantee, Terminix will do whatever it takes, including coming back between treatments at no cost, until the pest problem is gone." This does not say if I sign the paper saying the guy came out then the 100% satisfaction guarantee doesn’t apply. This company is a joke and makes fraudulent claims. Not just with the guarantee but with the services it provides.

In October I called Terminix to come to my house to exterminate mice. They came and inspected and set out the sticky traps and placed poison baits under my house. I was told the mice would take the poison then leave my house in search of water... then die. However that is not what happened. The mice took the bait and came INSIDE my house and died. I live out in the country so I have a few mice every fall/winter which I normally trap myself but this year I wanted to hire a professional to eliminate the problem.
So lets add this up and just see how much I have spent to rid myself of these mice. $150 initial inspection to Terminix, $40 to the first individual hired help to come and remove dead mouse from behind my refrigerator, $50 to the second hired help to remove the dead mouse behind my range. $100 to the third hired help to come and pull out my built in dish washer to remove dead mouse. An afternoon of leaving work ($50) to meet the Terminix tech to remove the dead mouse from behind my freezer and look for one somewhere in my living room...could not find that one but could smell it.
This week I found the dead mouse somewhere inside my recliner chair... cannot see it but it is there. Needless to say that chair is out in my garbage now so there is an expense for a new chair. I have paid another hired help to come and put foam all around the water pipes in my house... that's another $80. So as of today there is still another dead mouse either under my refrigerator or behind it. I can't take anymore of this. I have never had this many mice in my house. DO NOT USE TERMINIX... IT COST ME TOO MUCH AND I STILL HAVE MICE... DEAD ONES!!

There was nobody living in the property, and no effort was made to call me. She said she would make a note in my file. Since then I receive an average of 3 phone calls a week asking for my payment. I repeatedly ask to speak to management to no avail. The 'collectors' who call me claim to never see my file, but they always say they will 'put a note in it'. Buyer beware: if you ever speak to Terminix reps, watch what you say, or you will be getting billed and harassed for services not contracted for.

My house was treated for wood boring beetles starting in 2003 by Terminix. In 2014, an area had to be treated again and wood damage had occurred. Wood Boring inspect damaged is not guaranteed by Terminix which I understood from the original contract. A few months ago, I asked terminix if that damaged needed to be repaired before I could get a clear termite letter when I sale my house in a couple years. Josh ** which I believe to be a supervisor came out to my house and went under there, and looked at the damaged. He gave me very good advice that I should replace the 12 feet of Joist that are showing wood damaged.
He arranged for a company to come and give me a estimate. It was the company they normally used. Terminix handled the contracting of the work, and I paid them. The company that replace the wood did an outstanding job at a very affordable price. I am very pleased with this experienced and especially with working with Josh ** to get it done.

I called yesterday and was told they'd be out today between 3 and 5 for a free estimate. I asked over the phone for a price and if my dog and I need to leave the house for a period of time during the treatment. They would not give a quote and told me I would have to ask the technician about the treatment. No one called or showed up and I left work 2 hours early for this appointment. I called and they didn't have a reason as to why my appointment was missed other than it was scheduled for a different day. So I was told the soonest they could come for an estimate was wed. I asked about a discount for the inconvenience and I was told it would be up to the technician as to whether they would give me one. So I called Orkin. They'll be here tomorrow to treat. Got a quote over the phone and they also were able to tell me that we don't have to leave during the treatment. I will never recommend Terminix to anyone!

Terminix responded publicly that someone would get back to me. THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED. Just a horrible company.

On 10/28/2019 I scheduled a Rodent inspection for roof rats suddenly appearing in my attic. As a longtime customer of the general pest control, I was expecting an experienced team of helpers to get rid of the rats. I was told that the Residential Exclusion was the appropriate agreement to get rid of the rats. An initial service call appointment occurred on 11/7/2019. The service technician closed 3 entry points and set 3 snap traps. He told me to call him back when I hear a snap. On 11/8/2019 I heard a snap and called the service tech. He told me that he would try to get somebody to come out. I called every day for another 4 days and left voicemails. No call back. At the end of the week I called customer service and again was told that someone would come out. No call back.
I wrote a negative review on BBB and then the service manager called me yesterday 11/20/2019. I told him that I had paid $920.00 on 10/28/2019 and was not getting the rats removed. He told me that he would send someone out today. The service tech sent to my house this morning 11/21/2019 was not equipped to enter the roof, but retrieved one very dead and skeletal rat body. He did not reset any snap traps: he only put out 2 glue traps (one upside down) without any bait. He also stated on his report the he inspected and treated interior and exterior for seasonal pests which was not true. I called the service manager 2 times today and left voicemails. No call back. I contacted American Arbitration Association for consumer contract disputes. Need I say more?!

I have a service plan with Terminix for roaches. Before I started the plan, I was told that within 90 days since the first service I can schedule addition services at no cost and can cancel anytime before the next service period start after 90 days. My fist service started on 8/30 and I scheduled another service on 11/4 and charge me $100. When I called to schedule the additional service, the prep didn't mention anything about the new charge. I called several times trying to resolve the issue but was promised that with a call back by a manager but they never called. If you do business with them you will only work with oversea reps that have no authorities to resolve anything except taking your money and scheduling appointments. So BE VERY AWARE. I was not satisfied with the service because I didn't help with the problem and now this billing issue.

Sloppy, unprofessional exclusion service. We paid thousands of dollars for exclusion work only for them to forget to install the steel garage sweep that we paid an extra $350 for. After chasing down the sales person and calling customer service, someone finally came back out a week later only to install a cheap rubber sweep incorrectly. There was still a 0.5” gap between the floor and the garage door! There was less of a gap before on the old rubber sweep, so what was even the point of leaving it in worse condition? The tech Anthony blatantly lied to our faces by stating that the steel sweep could not be installed on wood doors. I honestly believe he was just too lazy to install the ones WE PAID FOR.
After noticing this, I immediately contacted customer service again, even sending pictures via email. Still, the local office has yet to acknowledge wrongdoing, try to fix the errors, or apologize for the inconvenience and leaving my home vulnerable. At this point, I have canceled my monthly services and awaiting a refund for the garage sweep that they tried to scam me with. I do not recommend this company. I used to use a consumer insecticide that was readily available at Lowe's or Home Depot, which worked VERY well.
Now that Terminix has been treating my property, it seems as though we have many more cockroaches, palmetto bugs, etc., than before. I logged onto my account to try to let Terminix know so they could try treating our property with a different chemical, or perhaps try a different method - they do not respond. Upon calling last week to confirm the actual dates of my coverage, I was told that both termite plans were paid until December of 2020. They called a few days ago to do my inspection for termites which they do regularly. They found termites which I knew were there from a couple of years ago when they were supposed to tent the house. Terminix is now acting as if I do not have coverage. I call repeatedly only to be transferred to different agents and the manager never returns my calls.
I also have coverage for all termites and pest control at my home in Hallandale Beach, Fl. They continually mix up the accounts and transfer money wherever they feel like. Low rating is for disingenuous business practices, not for the service itself. Expensive and not as advertised. I contracted with Terminix for their termite bait stations installation and service for three years. Installation was neat and professional, cost included installation of bait stations, addition of bait and three years of checking/adding bait as needed. The last service conducted the month before the contract term was up according to the service schedule & I decided not to renew for another term and much more cost effective solutions are available in my area.
Upon notifying Terminix I was not renewing, they then offered to lower the price and then lower the price again. A poor business practice in overcharging customers and then offering a lower price for the same service. Now that I have chosen not to renew for the service, they periodically call looking for a renewal and threaten to come and remove the bait stations that I paid for! This is completely disingenuous and nonsense – to threaten to remove my bait stations that paid for as part of the initial service and installation, and to violate their own guarantee for service for a full year after service. On their recorded line I advised them the last service is warranted under the agreement for a full year (so August 2020) and that Terminix does NOT have authorization or permission to enter my property and remove MY bait stations. Due to these deceptive business practices I will not be using or recommending Terminix to family, friends or neighbors.

I hired Terminix for termite control at my new house I just purchased. They did not follow through with their job and caused property damage to my sprinkler system. First, while they were installing traps all over my front yard they broke a sprinkler. Claimed they fixed it but it was NOT fixed so I had to pay $200 for a landscaper to come out and fix it. Don't rely on this company at all, if they cause damage to your property they won't actually fix it.
Second, they were suppose to put traps around my house and said they were going to go under the house to trench and put gallons of liquid termite killer in these trenches. They set the traps around our home but did not go under the house which what they guaranteed to do. They did not trench under the house, therefore they did not put the chemicals in the ground that was promised to do to get rid of the subterranean termites. I hired a contractor because I found termites. The contractor I hired said they there was no sign of trenching under the house which means there were no chemicals placed under the house, as promised and paid for. I am now fearing the termites are eating my house which I should not have to hire another termite company to treat the termites Terminix clearly did not complete.
The rep I dealt with was Jason, in Fair Oaks. I have called and texted him because they clearly DID NOT finish the job I paid $1,500 for and on top of that I had to pay $200 to get my sprinkler system fixed they broke themselves and did not fix it. It has been weeks and Jason has ignored all of my calls and messages. That shows this company does not care about their customer nor customer satisfaction. Overall, I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. My family and I had just moved into a new home. We had an unfinished basement that had all kinds of pests crawling around. Also, the house had wasp nest in the eves and corners of the roof. I debated between Orkin and Terminix and let me tell you, I picked the wrong one. We were told that we would get a detailed report on the inside and outside of our home, that didn’t happen. We were told we would be explained a plan of action, that didn’t happen. No cobwebs were removed and no major cracks were taken care of. The gentleman that sprayed our house said maybe 12 words the whole time. When I opened the door he just walked in and started at the basement. Didn’t examine or explain anything.
Weeks later, the ants (carpenter with wings) were way worse than before he got there, so I called to have him come back. I explained how the ants were coming out of all the vents, getting in our beds, and flying around mostly by windows. He nodded but didn’t say anything. Just sprayed again and, surprise, it didn’t work. I bought my own spray and pump and actually had way better results. So noticeable that my wife even noticed and said something! I signed up to have the house done quarterly and I wanted to cancel because it was a waste of money. The job was never done right or effectively! But they said I can’t cancel my plan and now I have to pay over $300 during the next year. What a waste of money. I am being forced to pay for something that is not effective and I do not want! Original Review: I have been a Terminix customer for over 5 years, and I’m done! I was attracted to the service because of their claim to provide additional services at no extra cost. A few months ago I had an issue with getting through to a supervisor in order you get a clear understanding as to why I wasn’t getting my additional service that I had been contacted about. After threatening to terminate my service, I was finally contacted and was even given a credit for services. I thought that was great. Then on Sept. 24th I called to request an additional service and was told I would not be able to receive additional services because it was too close to my regularly scheduled service. I asked when that was and they told me October 27. Huh? That’s over a month away, so again I’d like to speak to a supervisor.
I’ve called three times and have still not heard from a supervisor. I got an automated call yesterday saying that my service would be provided on Monday and that someone needed to be home if I needed interior service. Wow!!! I’m battling ants and needed interior service over a month ago. Now on their command I’m to adjust my schedule when they’ve not accommodated my request just to talk to someone. I am unhappy with the customer service that I’ve received from this company!

After the 4 time I called to complain and the Manager I spoke with was too busy trying to defend themselves that he wouldn't even listen to my concerns. I am over using Terminix.

Jake ** came out and completed an pre-inspection. He walked around my house giving me feedback on how to keep rodents out of my house. He up-sold me on some work they could do for me when they came out to do the pest and termite installation. I paid in advance the day Jake was at my house. He marked several locations and promised me the tech would have all his instructions. When the tech came out he had no idea of what needed to be done. I called Jake, text Jake and emailed Jake and 3 weeks later NO RESPONSE! Finally someone is coming out tomorrow to complete the work but BUYER BEWARE of anything they promise. I liked Jake and very disappointed he let me down like this.

Got a call that day he would not be able to make it... as they had booked 2 appointments at the same time. We agreed to have him come today. I would be the first appointment between the hours 7-8. At 9 I called and was told he went to another customer's location and would call me when he would be able to come. I told them forget about it... I would call a more reliable company. I just noticed they charged my card once again. This is all without them doing any additional treatments to the home. Terminix is a scam!!! Beware consumers. 6 yrs ago I got in a contract with Terminix, they charged me almost $6000. Part of the contract was to do insulation, tent and fumigated my home plus it included a 5 yrs contract for termite protection. The contract continued because I renewed services paying at the beginning of this year $250 more. They came into my house on March 2, of 2019. They gave me report staying no termite activity. Because of personal issues on September I decided to sell my house. On the middle of escrow they send a termite company, to give clearance of my house. Which I was pretty sure I would not have any problems because my house was 100% protected under Terminix for termites, For my surprise, the house is all rotten due to all the termite activity that is going on.
By the way, I contacted Terminix asking them to give me clearance and they took more than 2 weeks to go and do an inspection. I gathered all employees names and ID's numbers because, one of the guys that finally came to the house told me that I waited too long to report the termite problem. And my response was, you guys came back in March less than 6 months ago and assured me that I was termites free. which means that since I got in contract 6 years ago Terminix employees were not doing their jobs, the problem has been there for more than 2 years I have the reports for last 3 yrs staying no termites.
Escrow almost failed because of all this. I lost $14,500 on escrow credit so the buyer would fix the problems after closing. By the way, Terminix wanted $6000 so they could fix the problems of the house, and come to fumigate. After a few calls to corporate they still wanted to charge me $5000 and fumigation would be free.. Are you kidding me? I refuse services, they didn't do their job for 6 yrs and now they want me to still pay for it. Plus I ended having to pay another company $1,350 so they could fumigate, repair and give me clearance on termites. I live in San Diego, CA. I am very disappointed on this company and would recommend everyone to never get services with them. They don't fulfill their contract and their services and guarantee was not accomplished.

Terminix entered the attic space, (through our closets), and made a terrible mess. The insulation work occurred on October 2nd, in which the installer did not take any precautions to protect our house and contents. They did not seal up the access points which allowed the dust to permeate through the house. I tried my best to minimize the dust on our clothing, even though they did not do anything.
I took pictures of the dust and sent them to Terminix as the work was being done. It took many phone calls to get a response from Terminix. I finally got the service manager to come to the house at the end of the day. He agreed that proper protection was not done by the installers. He told me that he would be talking to his manager about the mess. Terminix called back later and told me that a cleaning crew would be on site first thing the next day, (10/3). It was not until 2:00 PM the next day when a 3 person maid service showed up. They were told that there were only 3 rooms to clean. When they saw the job, they contacted their boss to explain the severity of the dust. The maid service informed me that they do not remove items from surfaces (dressers, night stays, tables, counters, etc.), that at best they would wipe around them. The service was not going to clean our shoes, clothing, blankets, walls, floors, ductwork, etc.
On 10/3, the maid service left and I again reached out to Terminix and the Branch Manager. The manager eventually returned my call and stated that I was exaggerating, but finally agreed to come to the house to see the mess. After viewing the house, she agreed to get a cleaning company (service master) to take a look at it. Service Master came to the house late in the day to review what needed done. I went over the items and walked him into each room to show him the mess that was still left. He told me that he could have a crew come to the house on the 10/10. (8 days after the mess was created) - Again really poor customer service. Not the fault of Service Master, but Terminix should have found someone else that could handle the mess ASAP.
Later than night, Service master called and told me that they had a few hours the next day (10/4) to get started. I took a second day off work to meet with this crew. Only 1 person that showed up. He did an excellent job cleaning a couple of rooms that day, but he was not going to be able to get anyone back until the following week. The following week, he and a helper showed up and spent the day. While they spent the day, as stated above, the cleanup did not get completely done, even though they packed up and left the house.
Noone from Terminix has contacted me to see if everything was completed. The manager told me that she would review the invoice and compensate us for our inconvenience. Nothing has been done to make us financially whole yet. I took a day off of work for the installation, which I was expecting as part of the installation.
The financial harm is a result of: The following 2 days that I had to take off of work for the cleaning crews. The third day my wife took off of work so they could finish. Filter replacement on the furnace. The cost of the extra water, soap, electric, etc to wash and dry the clothing. While not quantifiable, my wife and I have lost our own personal time to finishing the cleaning and doing the laundry.
To be fair to Terminix, I had this process done in my last house without any issues. Likewise Terminix has been providing pest control to us for 22 years and I have been very happy until now. I understand that a couple of installers cause this entire mess, however, I would have assumed that Terminix would have done everything in their power to make a long term customer happy. Service and customer satisfaction should be the most important thing. This event and customer satisfaction has been horrific. I told Terminix that I just wanted house cleaned and to be made whole. The first was mediocre, the follow-up and financial harm has not been addressed. I should not have to reach out to Terminix, they should have handled this within a day or two. It has been 2 weeks now.

I initially called Terminix for a bee problem. I was talked into a quarterly treatment plan for a few other issues. The sales person was very nice and not pushy at all. I should have known there would be problems when they called me a few hours before wanting to do my service unannounced. I told them no one was home and not to come. I was rescheduled for another day and time and no one showed up. The second time the tech called again and wanted to come without an appointment. I allowed him to this time because I wanted my problems resolved. The tech did an outside and inside treatment...what a mess!!!
First, he entered the house and walked all through it without taking his shoes off or using booties (we do no wear shoes in our house). Then he soaked the floors with whatever the spray was, it was wet for hours. Outside the windows were all a mess, the beehive was blows apart (all over my house). When the tech left we really started finding more issues. The first thing was brown drip stains on a kids stuffed toy (the box was under a window where he sprayed. I only gave this one star because I had to give it one to leave a review. Let me first say that I only came on here to read the reviews from other people from this company. While reading I see that other people have had bad experiences as well so I’ll share mine. I called them about 2 months ago to have my house inspected. My mother kept getting bit and believed it was mosquitoes. They came out pretty quickly I believe it was that day. The inspector came and check the couches and the beds he saw nothing.
Fast forward to today my couch is infested with bedbugs. Apparently, it takes about an 10 to 1.5 hours to check a house and he was there about 15-20 minutes. They said he was supposed to to flip the couch he didn’t. Instead he told us to treat the house for mosquitoes. Even if they tried wanted to come exterminate I would allow them to but I still would pay someone else to come out as well they are horrible. So much for trying a company that has been around for a while.

We purchased a one year contract with Terminix for rats in our attic which cost us $1,000 (we need to emphasize the rats were only in our attic and nowhere else in the house). Terminix sealed up our home so no rats could come in or out. When the trapped rats began running through our house looking for food and an exit, we could not get anyone to come out and help us. We were finding rodent droppings all through our home... including our tables we eat on, kitchen counters, stove tops, etc... We even found a rat that jumped out of one of our shopping bags that was left for a short while on the floor of our kitchen. When we would call Terminix for an urgent request for service, we would be transferred to someone from another country promising us our request would be handled by our local service agents. Needless to say, that NEVER happened.
We had to catch the rats ourselves including buying our own rat traps and disposing o (once even with a broom... disgusting to say the least). Furthermore, there was no sense of cohesion between the exclusion team and the service team. It just seemed like such a SLOW moving disorganized machine that was unable to respond quickly to the urgent needs of its customers. The worst service ever experienced by a company. The initial service would be Saturday between 8 and 12 so, to be sure I was ready for him, I got up at 6:30 am. The annual service for my house would run $800. The guy was no-call & no-show. Terminix came out and inspected my home. My adult son was the only one home. I was expecting to just get a report because I saw a rat. He would not even discuss it without us being there in person so we set up an appointment to meet the next week between 3 and 5 and took off work early for it. No one showed up. I called and send an email to check and a salesman finally came at 8:00 pm. After the consultation, we said we wanted to think about it and would call him tomorrow. He said it was easier if we just took a few minutes to discuss it and finalized the paperwork now.
The salesman recommended that we remove all the insulation from the attic and replace it with a special mix from Terminix. They also said we needed exclusion work done on the exterior of our home. We specifically asked if the air ducts had been damaged and he said no. We asked questions about dust and debris getting inside the house during the consultation. We were assured there would be no issue and we did not need to cover anything. We also asked about the exclusion work and what it would look like. We were assure the material used would match the exterior of the home and be paintable if necessary. We also mention there was a hole in the wall where a dryer vent use to be and a large gap at the garage door where it did not meet the ground. We were told fixing these would be no problem to keep pest out and it the work would match the exterior.
After the work was done, we came home to find dust and debris in the air and covering every surface in the kitchen and living room along with an odor. We were surprised since we were assured this would not happen by the salesman. We called to report the issue. The salesman came to our home to inspect the work. His explanation was that this is expected when the air condition is running but we were never told to turn it off. He also said there may be holes he did not see in the duct work after he assured us there was no damage to the ducts.
Then we went to check the exclusion work. This was only half done and the parts that were done were covered with non paintable silicone we could have gotten at Home Depot and done ourselves. It looks awful. The garage door and hole we had mentioned were not even touched. He basically just apologized and said there were unexpected results. He was sorry he could not help us but he would be sure to advise his next customer of these possible outcomes. The only other thing he could do was have his guys come back and cover the hole. All of this cost almost 10,000.00. I am unhappy with these result and feel I at least should not have to pay for the hideous exclusion work.

I pay $1,400 for a bed bug treatment to Terminix. First, the guy that came to expect my house did not find any. I found them for him. The worst part is if they do not find them, they do not treat your house. They treated my house for three months and I kept finding them. They started making excuses that my bites come from ants, fleas, or other animals even when I showed them the bed bugs. They overlooked treatment of any of the known resting areas. They did not follow up on treatment in an appropriate time-frame (many pesticides will not kill eggs, so treatment must be repeated after the eggs hatch, or the infestation will not be controlled).
I had to pay another company to come and deal with this problem. Some staff members were polite, but they kept telling me we are not going to treat your whole house again only the affected area knowing that the eggs hatch every seven days. I was told that I could call and they would come out and respray with no additional cost. I was told someone was going to contact me for that and 2 weeks later finally someone did. Each technician gives a different level of service. One technician that stood out from the rest - Crystal ** whose territory is in Webster, Texas. She has set a new standard for the rest to follow. Actually, from our experience over the years, no other technician can ever match her level.
Crystal worked with a smile; she was so thorough. She swept the house and the detached garage along the eave, and along the bottom of the walls. She then sprayed along those same places. She also sprayed for bugs thoroughly inside at kitchen and bathrooms and at exterior doors. I could just imagine if I was a bug, there was no way that I could not penetrate the bug shield that Crystal had created. Doomsday for bugs, for sure. I said I scheduled an appt online and received a confirmation email about the appointment and read him the email and he said, "Yeah I have no idea what to tell you. I’m not sure what the call center sends out." It was the strangest phone call ever.
So then I called the number in my confirmation email and talked to a call center rep. She was very helpful and friendly but proceeded to tell me my appointment for Saturday was for termites. (No clue where that would have come from) so I asked to change it to mice and reschedule. She set it up for The same Saturday but 3-5:01. We were there from 1-5:15 and no one showed up. So all in all, between the really weird confusing conversation with the local rep, finding out that the initial appointment was scheduled for termites and having to reschedule, and then the tech completely no show us the day of was pretty disappointing and unprofessional. Won’t be calling them for any future business.

Called to schedule an appointment and was given the time of between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. for someone to arrive. At 7:15 P.M. no one had showed up so I called to make sure that there would be someone coming yet and was told that yes there would be but she would transfer me to check and make sure. I sat on hold for 15 minutes with no one answering this line and called back the same lady I originally talked to who said that she did not know why I was scheduled for 5-7 P.M. because they only schedule appointments until 5:00. She gave me the excuse that I must have spoke to someone new. Very frustrating to go through all of this and waste my time. I would give you 0 stars if it was a choice.

I purchased service to take care of a mouse problem a year ago, it was very expensive. I had several problems with service with them, as I was still seeing mice. Contacting them is always through a call center and VERY impersonal. They finally got the problem under control and I paid the service in full. Here it is a year later, after everything is paid and they start billing me for quarterly pest control service that was "included" in the service. Five calls to them could not fix the problem - the agent listened to my issue, promised that someone would call me back and no one ever did. The bottom line is everything goes through the call center, so if you have problems you are at their disposal.
This is not a company that you want to deal with, their customer service stinks and everything is through remote operations. You are a source of money and it is not about service whatsoever. If you want to drop bank, they will be at your door. If you are dealing with pest issues, you want a company that you can deal directly with, not a call center that only collects the money. Seriously do your homework before you contact a pest service and save yourself some problems because they are the biggest PEST of all.

The service was bad. Still seeing ants (bit my 2 & 4 year old with special needs) and spiders. Was told the company doesn’t spray indoors, to get peppermint spray for the spiders. The free service of having termite inspection wasn’t done. The rate was quoted at $79 but was charged $99. Waited 2+ weeks for a callback from local office. Had to call back in. Mike the manager wanted to “make a deal” rather than refund my account. Canceled my services. Will never use or recommend this company ever.

Terminix won’t do a good job, won’t refund money. Over a month, still have bedbugs given to me by a neighbor. Terminix strength chemicals are no good, weak. Reps are like robots, not permitted to contact corporate or regional offices. Was told to sleep on mattress anyway or bedbugs will follow me. Big bruises on body from their bites. Five visits and still bedbugs, initial inspection was not thorough, only 15 or 20 min, was told to leave home for 5 hours to complete. Brought bed encasements after spraying, caused bedbugs to spread, said they were being ordered, would not make special trip to install if rep is not in area. I had to tell tech to spray sofa and chair, did not spray in wall sockets, other furniture!
Terminix is a terrible company to consumers, even their employees complain about them. I want a refund before my 90 days is up. They don’t deserve even one star. I have sciatica nerve pain, now forced to sleep on sofa since it made no sense to keep my nearly mattress and box spring loaded with bedbugs. Your contract is signed on a tablet, they’re even too cheap to give it on paper. Don’t trust Terminix!

PLEASE READ THIS LETTER BEFORE YOU CONSIDER TERMINIX: A representative came to meet with my daughter and discuss treatment for potential wildlife in the attic. My daughter was led to believe she had to sign a contract for the first inspection. The inspector came weeks later and found zero evidence of wildlife. THAT INITIAL INSPECTION WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FREE EVALUATION. Later my credit card was charged $1,060 for year of coverage. I made six or more calls to clarify. No one returned my calls. I called headquarters, they listened and cleaned to allow up and no one ever conveyed their conclusion.
They went to "radio silence"...the one message I got said they are having problems with their phone and it doesn't take messages, so just leave a text. I did that THE times, and never got a reply. My cc company was unable to reverse the charge because my daughter signed a contract, one she was coerced not believing that was the only way to get the initial inspection completed. A disgraceful performance by a once well regarded company...and I am out over $1,000 for nothing!

Hello. This review has nothing at all to do with Terminix products but with the customer service. To make a long story short, we have previously used Insight Pest Solution services. In December, we have moved in, cancelled our services with the Insight Pest. In the following month, it appears that Insight merged with Terminix with old former Insight accounts automatically transferred to Terminix. We were not aware of this. As mentioned above, we have moved and canceled with Insight Pest.
7 months have passed by and all of a sudden we get a bill from Terminix that our house was service on 7/2/19. We were very surprised as no one has reached out to us about this service, there was no confirmation of the appointment, no confirmation of this service being done, nothing by Terminix with left in our mailbox or the house indicating the service was performed. And again, nothing was done for 6 months and this was totally unexpected.
I called the Terminix 7/15/19 with the above complaint and the fact that we never signed up for this service. I was assured that this will be taking care of and we will not be responsible for this bill as there is no contract, or proof of service, none of the above. A month later, another bill came that we are now past due. Another hour long conversation with the agent and their confirmation and reassurance of consultation and taking care of this bill since appear not responsible for it. Yesterday, another bill now with a threat to send to collection agency. Yet another long talk with an agent who knew nothing about prior calls, again reassured me which I feel will not be the case.
We have never had such an experience in the past nor had any delinquent payments, but I refused to pay for the service I did not sign up for and that was done on my house without our consent or knowledge. Instead of resolving this, Terminix has disregarded our concerns and failed to address this matter. I will be filing with a BBB.

Worst worst ever! First they send a salesman that said they would not charge for attic insulation and the total charge would be 3500 and said that if we went to Orkin- they would charge us over 5000. When they came the first time, the machine for the installation was not working and they did have have any mattress covers. It’s damn impossible to get them here early. They always say they will be here at a certain time and are ALWAYS late. Now I get a past due notice for attic installation and the amount I had to put down- which I wrote a check the day! I have had nothing with problems with this company. Now I have to sift through papers to find papers showing I was not going to have an attic installation fee (which the ONLY reason why I did it was because the salesman that came said we would not get charged for that). This is totally crazy! Worst company ever!!!!

The representative wanted me to commit to the service before they even inspected my place. I told the rep that as a trustee, I needed to get at least two quotes and he assured me that someone would show up at the appointed time and do the inspection to apprise me of any structural damage that may have occurred.
Honestly, the rep had a great sales pitch and told me how all of the neighbors around me had used their company for termite eradication. I might have used them, even if their quote was higher. But, they never showed up for the appointment and never called my tenant to cancel or re-schedule. So much for the sales pitch. Now I think their only goal was to get me to commit to their service. TERMINIX - This is the most frustrating company I have ever had the misfortune to work with. Nonresponsive is an understatement! They're more than happy to bill you but they have yet to do anything with a few small areas that have damage from a covered service. We have been members for several years with no issues, inspection and service where scheduled and we had no damage, it appeared as though we were getting what we were paying for.
However, during an inspection in January 2019 the technician found several small areas with damage, showed them to me and said they were part of the service agreement and should be repaired within a couple of weeks! That was almost 9 months ago. We have tried multiple time, almost every month, to resolve this at both the corporate and local levels. But it seems that they are unfamiliar with how to return a call or send an email unless it's to sell you something. How disappointing!!!

Since we were under a deadline we had no choice but to spend $1200 to upgrade the service since the Bond I had since 2003 was apparently no good.
Our house had been inspected less than 6 months prior to this refinance. No sign of powder post Beetles were indicated. But, according to the inspection conducted for the refinance we had powder post beetles. The cost of this treatment was an additional $600. We have contacted local management who have been unable to answer why an upgrade was necessary or why powder post Beetles were not found during our last inspection. Called Terminix. "Well you still have an inspection that is included in your first payment. We'll come out Aug. 2nd." Never showed up.
I was busy with work so did not call them right away. About a week later, I called them up. They pretended nothing happened and just said, "Oh we can come out Aug 10th, 3 to 5 PM." Buyer beware. I received a knock at dinner time at my door with a Terminix rep saying that they would be in my neighborhood tomorrow doing my neighbor's home and if I wanted to sign up, they could offer half off as they will already be in the area. I spent some time talking with the rep and stated that my main concern was mice. He went to great lengths to tell me about how they treat for mice. That they come in the home and do a thorough investigation for all evidence of mice and then examine all parts of the foundation (inside and out) for cracks or small entry areas and then they plug them up. They also set traps inside the home. I asked about the traps as I have small children and a dog and he stated that they do not use poison for that reason but set a trap with regular bait.
He then asked about what bugs I might have. I stated that I have mud wasps that are building nests on my stucco and showed him the areas. He wrote up all the details and asked me to sign on an iPad. I wanted to read all the details before signing so he scrolled to his comments. I asked him why he did not have anything about mice listed as that was my primary concern and main reason for signing up. I asked if the package included everything (bugs and mice). He confirmed yes. I then asked him to add that into his description. He added the word mice. Long story short I signed up. The rep came the next day sometime after 5pm. He was here for all of 10-15 minutes. Might have sprayed a few areas. Took a stick and mildly attempted to scrape away the mud wasp nest and then left. No filling in cracks to prevent mice, no traps, nada - nothing.
I called the company the next day and they then said that I don't have a mice package but they would be glad to add one for me for an extra charge. I explained the above story. They then said another rep would come out and we scheduled the appointment. The rep never showed up. I called again and despite promises to rectify the situation no follow up response from Terminix. At this point, I have spent far too much time on the phone trying to rectify situation. I have been told that they always make the customer happy and would be glad to resolve. They have not followed through any phone commitments and refuse to put anything in writing. After these attempts, I finally disputed my charges with my card and cancelled my service.
I could not get a return phone call nor a return rep when I repeatedly asked, but I sure am getting return phone calls for the outstanding balance for services not performed. I have responded to the collection agents that I am disputing the charge and have cancelled my account. When the second agent called, I informed them that I have cancelled my account to which they replied that no I hadn't. I had to take even more time again today to re-cancel. But again, they will not put anything in writing. So I will have to call multiple times until they confirm the cancellation to ensure this loop is closed. To anyone considering Terminix - please save yourself the trouble. Use a local merchant. I question their ethics, business practice and if they even applied anything in the few minutes they were here. They definitely did not perform the services I requested.

Have termites in home, researched treatments and what would be usual treatment. They found 2 active colonies in home, had made their way already to second story. So I decided to not mess around with local services and went with pros. Needless to say they did the bare minimum. Only did a 4 inch trench around colonies, while others said to trench whole house as you can see termites around property. No work in attic or walls as you can see actual mud from colonies coming through walls. I even asked them to trench the whole house and would pay extra. They insisted it wasnt necessary. So their plan was to spray outside in small trench and in 6 months termites should be dead.
Needless to say having whole house trenched, holes bored into drywall, inspected with fiber optic camera and termite foam installed at colonies, and attic and beams exposed also done. So Terminix at least down here in South Texas does not even do the industry standards. They did put out stakes around house, but you can see the tunnels in full view. So disappointed and out 2 thousand dollars and have to do work again.

They only performed 2/3rds of the initial service and when I requested a refund on 1/3rd of the $218 fee, it seems like I fallen off the face of the earth. They will not answer me or contact me. BE CAREFUL....

We have used Terminix for years without any issues. Recently, we had a problem with mice. We called & they scheduled us an appointment for the following week. We were told a representative would be at our home between 7 and 9 AM. I took the day off and was up early. No one showed up at 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, nor 12, nor did anyone call. At 12:30, I called their Sacramento Customer Service to inquire where the representative was. I was greeted with "sorry". No explanation on where he was, no apology, no "Let me investigate & call you right back". Zip. Zero. Nothing.
When she asked if I wanted to reschedule, I advised her I could not afford to take another day off from work. Silence... No response from her. I then said "You know, as a matter of fact, I want to cancel my account". As she never offered to make any additional compensations to me, nor my account, I simply stated I would call another service. Her closing statement... "OK, have a nice day". Pathetic. One of the absolute worst experiences I have ever had with any company.

The salesman came and talked me into 4,4k $ termite baits and promising it will work. 3 months later, we still experience the termites, so I tried to contact that salesman but he read the text and not responding. Don't listen to what they promising.
