We like Terminix. Their techs come out to provide service for us quarterly. Though we had an issue before they came, everything has been taken care of. Their techs seem to know what they're doing.

I bought my side of my duplex in Palmetto FL 5 years ago and took over the yearly plan to prevent dry wood termites. At beginning and many times throughout I repeatedly asked, "If I do get termites even though I only own my half of house will you still honor the guarantee?" I was repeatedly told they would or a couple said they didn’t know and would check. I pay around $275 a year.
Finally in March of last year dry wood termites were found and even after a couple treatments of drilling holes in my wall nothing helped. I was then told the other servicemen lied to me because they couldn’t tent my house without owner of other side of duplex agreeing and paying her share. The price they quoted her was same price of other respected termite removal service in our area quoted for our whole house! Of course we went with other small company and all those years I paid Terminix was for nothing. Also on 3 separate occasions I made appts to have house inspected which they do at least yearly and they were no calls and no shows for appt. I work hard for my money and my time is important.

I’ve been using Terminix ever since I got this house. They call me every couple of months. If ever I had an issue, they would always come right back. It's very easy to schedule service with them. I do it over the phone and their reps are cool to speak with. Doug is my technician and he’s super nice. A while back, my puppy dog passed away and she left me some fleas. Doug had to come several times and he told me about the stuff that he was spraying. He said he might have to treat my place two or three times. He treated it twice and the fleas are gone now. Since Terminix's most recent service, the pest activity has been good and I haven’t seen anything. I would recommend them.

Terminix comes out for quarterly maintenance and Paul, the young man assigned to my area, has been here like clockwork. I used to have lots of spiders in the house and I would try to draw them and get them in containers and get them outside. But since the house has been sprayed, I don’t have them in the house which is nice. They seemed to be staying outside and that’s perfectly fine with me. There are some little nutty flies, but there are certain things that you can never get rid of because they just hatch new. If you haven't sprayed and they hatched, then you kinda get them again.
The only other thing I'm seeing is some droppings on my floors. They did all the spraying and then, they came and told me I had subterranean termites. They put these cone things out all over my yard and I'm concerned that there is still something else going on. Right now, I'm waiting for their guy to come. I appreciate that I can have somebody to call and that they are willing to come over and help me in between appointments. Also, Paul is very helpful when he comes. He's very polite and he makes me feel very comfortable when he's here and doing his job.
We genuinely appreciate it, and we’re glad to hear that you’re happy with your service!

The annual inspection has been perfect for the last 15 years and I've had no repeats of anything and no complaints. My only complaint is that each time the technicians come out, they try to make a new offer. I don't really appreciate that they're trying to sell me stuff I don't need. If I have a problem with something that they deal with, I would call them immediately. I'm not gonna wait for them to show up. I realize that's part of their job though. I expect it now. The one thing they sold me was about 1,000 pounds in insulation and my house is totally quiet now. No sound comes in through the attic. I get a few mice in the attic but they last for about a week then they die.
Terminix also keeps trying to push my contract sooner and I start getting inspection scheduled as early as October. But if I have a problem in January, I expect it on the last contract, not on a new one. Once, I even received a bill ahead of time. I don't know where these schedules come from but the local people say it's scheduled for them. That's the only problem I've had but it's not really a problem either. I've also had interesting conversations with all of the gentlemen who have come out.

Having lots of spiders us to get Terminix's services. We also have an ongoing problem with ants. We have been using their services for nine months now and they come out every four months. In scheduling the service, they reschedule that because we don't have to even be here most of the time. But even if we're not here, the technician had always been positive. She always let me know when she is done. Since their service, the pest activity has been much better. I'm really satisfied.

Called to see about removal of animal (assuming mouse/rat) that got in between the walls from outside. Investigator came promptly and assessed that animal likely got in through pulled open fascia near the roof. No signs of animal getting inside the house. Scheduled service costing about $1300. Contractors came within a week and sealed all holes around the house but did NOT remove the animal. Called to inform that we can still hear the animal running around between first floor bedroom ceiling and upstairs bedroom floor. Was told contractors will not come out for at least TWO MONTHS "so glue traps have time to work". In the meantime this animal can cause damage to my insulation, frame, wiring etc that could end up costing me thousands of dollars. Do not recommend.

I have an old house and we had a lot of spiders coming in and we had springtail bugs on the window sill. We contacted Terminix for services and since then, we have had them out quarterly. They go ahead and schedule the service and the tech who would be arriving would say that he would come out at a certain time. When they arrive, they do the outside of the house. They did the inside the first time they were here and the guy who came was really nice and helpful. We were throwing a lot of questions at him. But for 2019 I am required to pay $1499 which is killing me. I called the local office and was told that some professional will call me back with 24 hours, but 3 days passed and nobody call back. As other reviewers from Mobile AL, we get our renewal notice this year with $1499 renewal fee, up from a little over $300 last year. In fact, we did not even get our renewal notice, we discovered it by chance when we went into our online Terminix account. They should have send a detailed letter well in advance explaining this. Is it even legal to increase price that much?

We have been with Terminix for years with a previous home and this home we bought in 2015 and have always paid 308.00 a year for our termite bond. No claims have been filed on the home and the termite bond has been active on the home since the home was built in 1982. We were told our bond has increased to 1,499.00 a year from 308.00 a year. That is a 500% increase. That is outrageous to increase renewal fee that much. We had our annual inspection done yesterday 02/07/19 and the guy only did an exterior inspection and he was supposed to do exterior and interior. Said no one was available for interior and we set it up so someone would be home. They did half the inspection so I figure they are due have the renewal fee.

Terminix service did the job with our carpenter ant problem. However they fail to communicate properly when they are coming and they are extremely aggressive and rude with bill collection. We sold our house and told them, "We would like to terminate service." The rep told us we are all set and thanks for letting us know. They still came and did outside service and sent us a bill. Because we moved out of state we did not receive the bill right away and when we did we assumed it would be no charge or paid in full.
We started receiving numerous annoying debt collection calls. I called collections and complained and she showed record of my call to end service. She told me there was nothing she could do about it and told me I would have to call customer service. So I paid the bill. CS was a long tedious call with no resolution except someone will call you. This is not the way to treat a long term customer who always paid on time.

I recently purchased a house that was under a bond and service with Terminix. The previous owner provided me the service invoice and so I contacted Terminix to transfer the bond and service. The lady on the phone looked up the information and said “yes” I could have the bond transferred and scheduled me for a local tech to come out. He no showed on me, and I had to call back. The lady helped me get in contact with the local tech who told me they would not transfer the bond. I didn’t understand why. I called back to corporate who again said they would transfer the bond and have the local manager call me within 24 hours. One week later the local manager called me to again say they would not transfer the bond. Stating that even though the previous owner had a bond and even though he paid for his annual service for 12 years; that I would have to have the house rebonded because his treatment was only good for 7 years.
I asked, "Why then would you continue taking the prior owner's money if his bond was no longer good? And if service was still effective for him why would termites know the house changed ownership for me?" His response was, "That isn’t how our zone handles bonds and corporate doesn’t dictate whether a bond can be transferred." Neither answering my question nor assisting me. I asked for an estimate since they already have the house information under a contract and he said they could not provide that either without a new inspection. Overall I had a very poor experience with my local Terminix that seemed to have all the business they wanted and very little customer service skills. I was able to call two competitors that were able to provide an estimate not a quote which seemed odd they couldn’t provide some idea on cost for a new bond or some deal given the house was under their service already.

If you have a complaint against the company, they do not listen! I have complained several times that they were not able to FULLY service my yard as I keep my back gates locked. I have two large dogs that I don't want getting out so I keep the gates locked at all times. They were to call me to set up service. They did not. When they came out, they would say they completed the job fully. That is not possible as they were not able to get into my backyard. When I called to cancel the service, they said they would remove the final bill. They did not. Now, the bill is in collections. I don't understand how a company can charge for a service only partially completed. They did not even offer to lower the cost. They expect full payment for a partial service. Be very careful if you choose to go with this company. I would NOT recommend them!

I have been a customer for about 2 years. When we moved in, the house hadn’t been managed, had trees and bushes up to the house and for acres around, and had about 2” of insulation. The pest control service was keeping bugs and rodents at least knocked down, and I was advised that using their treated insulation and cutting brush/trees back would be what was needed to keep the rodents away from the house. Now my land has been cleared for acres around, and that has been about a year, so plenty of time for any displaced pests to disperse. For the last couple months the rodents have been out of control. Terminix “treated” insulation is just as comfortable for them as the old was. I have had the tech out in between my regular service every time. At this point I could do the same at a fraction of the cost. They are just putting out bait and shrugging shoulders when that’s not enough.
Since July I have replaced wiring that has been chewed (recently chewed because I rewired the house last spring), a $5000 HVAC unit (was a few years old but failed due to rodents, but I still didn’t complain because it was an older unit), but the last straw is the $1000 wiring harnesses I had to replace for my vehicle (parked in carport, which is treated and baited). Customer service is incredibly difficult to get a hold of, and their only solution is to offer to let me pay for another additional service. No chance of adjusting the current bill for pest control or insulation. At this point I really don’t know what I’m paying for, besides a premium cost version of product and service I could do myself or get elsewhere.

The Terminix inspector found five dead bed bugs in my house. He recommended treatment. The treatment was done on a Friday early morning. I followed the instructions - stayed away for more than four hours - then opened all windows and aired the place out for half a day before going back in. Both inspector and treatment specialist said I could stay in the house that very night. The next day, I got a severe allergic reaction - I could barely breathe, eyes were swollen, rash that has lasted now for more than 5 days. I had to go to the ER. Both the ER doctor and my general physician said I should avoid contact with the treated furniture and areas as re-exposure will cause additional allergies and could even lead to anaphylactic shock.
I contacted the inspector, the service specialist, the main Terminix number and the local branch manager requesting information on what exactly was sprayed and exactly where. I received zero call backs. I am now removing the sprayed furniture but still don't know what other areas - electric plugs, walls, etc. have been treated. Terminix charged $1,500 for a service that is literally killing me and it is not giving me any support while I am trying to undo what they have done (removing furniture and a professional house cleaning).

I agreed and he later sent the techs out. The techs came and put one cone up in the attic where there was exposure to the outside, which basically cost me $1200.
About six months later I got a letter from a collections agency that Terminix had tuned me into. The financing apparently was never turned into the financing agency correctly and they had never notified me. It had nothing to do with me but that they didn't know how to push the financing through correctly in the small town where I had the work done. After numerous back and forths I just paid it off and cancelled all my services with them. We provided a down payment of $1780.00 with a remaining balance of $7120.00. He then provided a tablet for spouse, Kim **, to sign. At the time my spouse thought she was signing a receipt for the $1780.00 payment. Later we discovered it was a contract that stated the APR was 18%. At no time did Terry explain the signature request on the tablet was a contract with a 18% APR. If fact, we never received any contract from Terminix until we questioned the first statement that had a $97.90 interest charge.
It should be noted the tablet only had the signature line visible. Two other things. We are in good credit standing and had other credit lines available to us. And second, the service provided could have been delayed several months. There was no logical reason for us to sign up for such a exorbitant interest rate. I called back and left a message stating we made no such appt. We have now been billed $254 for service we did not order, tried to cancel an account over 6 times, canceled the service via voice mail. Three days ago we called company one more time to cancel the account and were assured they canceled and promised to send us an email stating it was canceled. Received no email. Called again and we have finally received a cancellation email. Very frustrating experience.

I called the scheduler to ask for a price for a termite inspection on a house I was buying. She said they offer same day service, and a branch office would call me with a price. I agreed. No one called, so I called back late that afternoon, and she said she could schedule me "tomorrow," which was January 1st. I asked, "Are you open on New Year's Day?!" and she assured me they would be open. I planned my day around the 1 to 5 window on the first. The inspector called about 2 p.m. to "confirm an appointment for tomorrow." I said, "The appointment is today", and he said, "It's a national holiday. No one is working on January 1st." OK. I need a price for the inspection. I called the scheduler back, and she said the initial inspection is free, and the inspector will talk about a treatment plan based on what he finds. "Wonderful," I said, and scheduled a January 2nd inspection with a 1 to 5 window.
The inspector came, and did a very superficial check. He REEKED of alcohol. Even the contractor I had working there mentioned it. It was bad. Then he asked me for a check for $125.00. Black Diamond is only $85. I wasted $40, wasted a bunch of time waiting for appointments that didn't exist, and got a poor inspection with a surprise FAT charge for nothing.

I've been getting service for years from Terminix. I have termite coverage for my wood-frame house. They come quarterly and the rep texts or calls me, and lets me know when he's coming out, and asks if I have any issues that need to be addressed. He does a fine job. I've never had termites and they come out and treat some of the ants and stuff around Florida. I'm pleased with the service.

I have been using Terminix for about 22 years now. I have carpenter ants and tons of spiders. Terminix had set me on an automatic schedule and they come out to our home every three months unless I need another touch-up. They let me know a day in advance that the techs are coming out. When I'm not at home, I don't want anybody on my property. I don't want to do an outside and I don't want to do anything. When I'm at home, that's the only time they are allowed to come, although I have to fight with Terminix sometimes to re-route the techs.
I'm very picky who I use. If I don't like them, I don't want them back. However, Terminix still sends random people when I only ask for one person. I had a nice person that I liked, but he's not with them anymore, so I have to take who they send. I finally found somebody and I told them I only want one person at my home. I don't want them to keep changing technicians because I'm not into that crap. If I have any pest activity, I call them right away. I don't have any more spiders, although I would get one every now and then. I also get ants twice a year, but they are very small ones. I would call Terminix and they would come right out. I always recommended them until they started messing up.

I had used Terminix to come out once a quarter and it was for just regular pest control, not for termites or anything else. I had two techs, during the time that I had the contract, who were really professional, did a lot of work, looked around and talked to me. However, I also had two techs who were there for about six minutes and didn't even check any of the traps, as if they had never come. I had a lot of problems with spiders, and when the techs would do a thorough job, it would make a difference. But if they just came out and didn't do too much, I didn't notice any difference. I have already canceled the contract with them and I would never use them again.
We’re sorry to hear about your recent experience with Terminix! We value your feedback and would like a chance to resolve any issues. Someone from our local office will be contacting you to help assist with your resolution.

I have had a contract with Terminix for over 20 years. It was sold to me as the ultimate in protection against termite damage. Recently, I discovered termite damage in my home and have had nothing but trouble with Terminix since. They have fine print to cover just about everything they say they do- so at the end of the day, they do not cover much of anything unless they catch the live termites in the act of damaging your home. Since usually termites are at work behind the scenes, live bugs are rarely caught in the act. Even when I found damage myself, Terminix attempted to tell me it wasn't termites! On my own nickel, I had to rip up floors to show them the damage, at which point, they agreed that is was in fact termites, but that the damage was old. Older than the 20 plus years they have been "protecting" my home. So, of course, they were not on the hook to cover the expensive repairs.
When I told them I was not satisfied with their service based on this experience, I was told they would not refund me on a prorated basis for the portion of my annual fee once I cancelled- even though they crow about a 100% satisfaction or your money back guarantee. When I challenged them on that, they said that the guarantee had been "misleading" and so was no longer offered. Really? This company does not mention any of the fine print when they sell you their services. The sales and advertising claims are inflated and lead consumers to believe they are getting something much more valuable than they really are. Buyer beware!

AmeriFreight comes out regularly every three months and last November they treated the perimeter of my home for ants and spiders, and then treated the interior for ants, spiders, and roaches because I live in a townhome. Because of the shared walls they wanted to make sure we covered everything. This time, it was a different technician, but he informed me that he would likely be my technician on a go forward basis.
The first technician I had, I felt like he had more knowledge and was also a little more attentive to my home than the current one. But they both did a great job, so I don’t have any issue. Everyone has been extremely professional. I was with a different pest control company before I switched to Terminix, and the initial technician told me likely it’s just the fact that Terminix is a larger company and therefore can provide the most up-to-date type of product, whereas smaller companies may not be able to do that. And I can feel the product we’re receiving from Terminix is stronger, and it lasts up until the time of my next treatment. I don’t see any ants coming out until maybe a day or two before the next treatment starts, which tells me that the products we’re receiving is much better for the quality and the amount of money we’re paying for the service.

I'm scheduled with Terminix every three months. The tech, Noli, automatically texts me and gives me a heads-up. His text says that he's gonna be at our home the next day at 2 o'clock so either my wife or I is there. He always wears a bow-tie, but he's a nice guy. He's very thorough, he explains everything, he takes pictures, he sends it to me, and he texts me when he's done. He does his job and follows up. I haven't had any issues since he took over so everything's good.
We have Terminix service for ants and spiders. Then, I actually had a rodent issue for a little bit that Noli ended up resolving. He put some bait traps and some glue traps, and we got that under control. Usually, the service is outside. We don't have as many issues this time of year as opposed to in the spring when we start getting all the ants and all that craziness, and that's when we really need him to come indoors. All in all, Terminix always there for everything that we need. Even the couple of times that I had issues where I needed them to come back, I called and they came right back.

I recently bought my first home. During the inspection it was discovered that the home has a pest trouble. I had Terminix come to the house the day I moved in to start pest control. I signed a contract for quarterly service, and was confident the pest trouble would be handled. I was happy with the service until today. Like many people December is a busy month and I am not available to let the Terminix technician into my home or my backyard.
When my appointment was auto scheduled I called customer support and asked if my appointment could be pushed to January. A woman information me that my request wasn’t possible and if I canceled the appointment the system would automatically reschedule it. I informed the agent I would reschedule that appointment too because I was not available until January. When the appointment was automatically reschedule I called customer support, explained my situation and had the appointment moved to January.
Despite me canceling my appointment the technician showed up at my door on my way out. When I didn’t answer the technician felt it was okay to go to my kitchen window, look into my house and when he saw me knock on my window. I was horrified that a service technician felt it was okay to do such a thing. In shock, I mouthed the word ‘NO’ to the technician. I was walking out to my car when the tech jumped out of his truck to ask me if I wanted service today. I informed the technician I canceled the appointment and I didn’t want him to spray. I also expressed I didn’t appreciate him coming to my window and asked for his name because I never wanted him at my home again. He told me his name was “Tom” and got back into he truck to make a phone call.
Running late I left my house with the assumption that “Tom” would be leaving soon too. I called customer support in my car explaining what happened. I was ensured “Tom” would not return to my home and I wasn’t going to be changed for the appointment. The agent confirmed my appointment in January and told me the technician coming was named Max.
Later that morning I received an email that my service had been completed. “Tom” waited for me to leave then went back onto my property after I declined service for that day. The email provided the name and picture of the technician. Apparently “Tom” lied about his name. His real name is Max. Angry and scared I called customer support for a second time. A customer support agent got me in contact with the branch manager. According to the branch manager Max didn’t do anything wrong and wasn’t trespassing because I signed a contract.
After a lengthy discussion which included me having to justify being at my own home (apparently being the owner and an adult was not reason enough for him); the branch manager explained Max give a different impression on the events that morning. The phone call Max made was to the branch manager. Max failed to inform the branch manager that I declined service, so the branch manager told him to complete the service call. So Max’s lies have resulted in me being charged $114 for a service call I canceled.
Thank you Terminix. It is good to know your dishonest technician cost me money. I am awestuck you would hide behind my contact when your technician deliberately lied to both me and his manager. How am I supposed to feel safe with your employees when this is the person you have coming to my house. Max is a lying peeping Tom who no one should trust on their property.

I’ve had a contract with Terminix off and on for the last couple of years but it’s seemed like they’re coming more and more. Every time they've sent me a notice that they were coming out and I’ve tried to tell them I did not need their service that month, there would be some type of miscommunication. They would come out anyway. That has been my biggest problem. Most of the time, Terminix sends me a text then the serviceman sends a text also. If I send a text back to the serviceman, he would say that I would need to text the office and that he could not change the appointments, which is inconvenient because I would have to do both. But other than that, the service is good.
The technicians have always been nice. Most of the time, as a courtesy, they would leave a card on the door saying that they had been here and done the service. But in the last couple of times that they were here, they didn’t leave anything at the door. That aside, they’ve done well. They do the outside treatment and if we have a problem inside or if we see ants, we can call them and they will come and spray the inside for us as well. Every once in a while, we see a few ants but most of the time, everything is good around the house.

Terminix usually calls me when they’re coming out. If I'm having some pest issues, they're out. And most times when they come, I’m not home. But I know because they send me an e-mail and a phone call most of the time. The tech from Terminix called to say he would do the inspection. I told him I had had some problems with some ants so he inspected the inside. That turned out to be really good. He inspected all around to see and he also left me some little ant sticks to put out and told me to how to get rid of them.
He said they don’t spray inside for ants. I only saw ants once. I just had some floors done, and tech said sometimes they’re kinda disturbed, so they come up. About two weeks after I saw the ants the first time, I had seen them again. But the tech checked around to see all the crevices and around with his lighter thing. That was really good because he seemed to have done a thorough job on that.
The technician was excellent. Any question I asked him, he had information. He could answer my questions and especially, if we want information beyond the question I’d ask him. For the most part, I used to be bothered with wasps building their nests around the eaves of my house. I haven’t been bothered with that since I had Terminix. I have both the contract for both the wood termites and the subterranean, so the tech told me the difference between the two and how I could look for signs and tell if there are any problems, then I need to notify them right away. It was good information. The only thing I asked them if they had anything was cheaper price. I'm retired so that is pricey for me. But other than that, I’m satisfied. Everything is great with their service.

It's approximately $10 more and they only adjust it when I call to explain to them that that was not my contract. I specifically asked if I could get a good person and they sent her. She was phenomenal but she had to leave. So, I’m on the third person who was the replacement and he was very good.
Two out of three have been good but I feel like I still had to do a lot of work to get a good situation. Also, the 1800 number and the way that they schedule and book you sucks. I told them to put it in their notes for my account that I wanted inside and outside sprayed every time. They sent an email that says they were just doing the outside. So, I would have to call and say it’s inside and outside. Then, they have an unexpected high volume of calls so, I’m sitting there waiting for 15 minutes every quarter to tell them something I already told them. The long wait time also applies when you have to reschedule. Every time I know I have to call or I’m about to have a service, I get a stomachache. It’s a waste of time.
They should update my account so they know that they gotta come and do inside and outside and stop sending me the standard email that says they’re just gonna do outside. They should be more personalized, they should customize and be accurate. Also, when you already have the appointment, the technician will text. That’s perfect and great but when they do your quarterly reminder, they should have an option to communicate via text like a lot of service providers. If I need to reschedule, I could call a staff. I don’t look at my emails very much and a text option would be much more convenient for me.

We've been with Terminix for 15 years and we have a preventative spray plan with them. Their technicians have been very professional. Terminix has good guys that's why we stay with them. If you’re already on a Terminix plan, they guarantee no ants, bats, and mice. We’ve always had no pest. The house we just purchased was already on a Terminix plan, so we don’t have to pay for some fixed rate to get on to that plan. If the house is already on the plan, you can just continue the quarterly service and have that guarantee.
The only negative thing about the Terminix is they try to upsell too much. They’re looking for somebody who doesn’t understand how termites work and things like that. They’ll come and do the service in a section of your property and they’ll find a stump in the middle of the yard that has termites on it. They’ll say you need to get the protection for the house because of that, which is true.

So, called the guy I had made a contract with and then the guy came back out. The guy told me again he was gonna come back again and he still hasn’t come back.
My mice are gone, but Terminix really did not do what they said they were gonna do in the contract that I had with them. One of the things they were gonna do was clean up the mice droppings and things like that. They also told me they were gonna do some things to seal off in the garage and stuff. They did not do any of those.
Also, one afternoon, my dog got hold of one of the bait traps. I called their call center and the girl said she didn’t know anything about that. I asked what was I supposed to do and what poison was in there and she knew nothing. She said she would call my technician and see and the guy called me back half an hour later. By then, I had called poison control and I had figured it out. I complained to them that there has to be a protocol if children or animals or pets or something get into that. The person answering their 1-800 number should know the answer or at least who you should call.
The good thing is I don’t have mice right now and they did a good job with that. The bad thing is I’m not really thrilled that I paid them a ton of money and I really don’t think they did what they said they were gonna do. Also, their customer service was poor. I’m supposed to be scheduling the services Terminix, but they tend to just show up and then charge me for things I didn’t ask for. The last time, they sprayed for mosquitoes and they showed up when they weren’t supposed to and then sent me a bill. It was supposed to be once a month and they weren’t even supposed to be back again for the year. And they came less than two weeks from the previous time and then sent me another bill. I've reached out to them about it about five times and every time, I was told that a manager would get back to me and they never did. They don't normally get back to me if I have to call about something. Also, the mosquito treatments did not really work because of the layout of our property. But they finally got rid of the bill.

I was having ants and I still have a problem with them. I've had Terminix out here at least four times. I don’t have ants in the kitchen where I had before, but then my daughter found an ant in my pantry, which is on the backside of my kitchen. So, I took one of those little baits that you get at the hardware store, and I sat it in there on the floor before Thanksgiving and sure enough, all these ants filled it up. I was traveling at the beginning of the month and the holiday so everything is crazy. I'm planning on calling Terminix in January when things settle down and tell them that they need to come back out again. They just haven't gotten to the bottom of the problem. I signed up for supposedly a year of service and I'm terminating it when I pay this last bill because I was close to $500, and it's not done. So I'm very unhappy.
The technicians come out and they open up a register. They put a dime-sized little product and say, "That’s it". One guy came out in the summer and ran around the outside of the house. He did the most thorough one. I don’t even know what they really do on the outside when the weather’s cold but even in the house, they put a little bit of bait and it's supposed to take it back to the colony and then kill it. They come out quarterly but then I called and had them come back out again because the problem wasn’t resolved. They said I should give it a couple weeks, and then they would come back out. However, it's just not working.
Years ago, I had carpenter ants. Terminix came out and they serviced the house outside. They put stuff outside and the problem was resolved. It was great. I had the service for about a year and a half, and I wasn’t having any problems with any more carpenter ants, so I dropped the service. This time around, I've been very disappointed and I don’t know what it is or what has changed. Every serviceman who comes out does something different. They're not all on the same page.
We’re sorry to hear about your recent experience with Terminix! We value your feedback and would like a chance to resolve any issues. Someone from our local office will be contacting you to help assist with your resolution.

Since we bought our new house, our Terminix rep has always been helpful, friendly and professional. She would come if we need extra work. However, they've raised the price so sometimes, I think about self-treating the garage and just buy my own stuff 'cause we don't use it inside very much 'cause what we're paying for the service is a lot of money. For the 15 minutes that the rep comes out, and with the amount of product she uses, I could probably do it a lot cheaper.

I am not at all happy to address these complaints in this way, but as you will see by the end of this, I have exhausted less drastic means. In October, 2017, the Mobile, AL, Terminix branch installed an ATMOX system to eliminate moisture in our crawlspace via a system of fans and sensors. The design apparently did not take into account the slope of our property because, although the crawlspace moisture was somewhat alleviated, it is because rainwater runoff was directed across plastic sheeting into our finished basement. The family room and laundry room have flooded with every significant rainfall over the past 14 months. Because my husband was gravely ill during this time, eventually passing away, I did not initially realize the source of the flooding. We even spent $5000 to replace our cracked retaining wall thinking that was the source of the water issue, but the flooding continued.
On October 8, 2018, during our first yearly inspection of the system, the Terminix employee told me we should have had wells installed at the openings to catch the runoff before it entered the crawlspace. He advised me that "Ken" would call me, but he never did. Over the next several weeks, I repeatedly called Jason **, the person we had dealt with when purchasing the system, only to be told each time that Ken would call me. When this never happened, I asked Jason if I could be contacted by a supervisor. He said a sales manager would call me. This did not happen either.
After my first call to their customer service center on December 4, Ken finally contacted me. Two Terminix employees were sent on December 10 and agreed the wells were needed. I stated my opinion that Terminix should install them at no cost to me due to the failure on their part. I was told that Ken would call me. On December 18, still not having heard from Ken, I called customer service again and was assured that either the branch manager or sales manager would call me that afternoon if possible or the next day. On December 20, yesterday, STILL having received no phone call, I called customer service for a third time and asked for a name and address of someone in the larger system to whom I can address my complaints in writing. I was told that the call center did not have that information, but that the regional manager would call me WITHIN TWO HOURS. Almost 24 hours later, I still have not received a call.

Ben from Terminix always does such a good job. He comes in, sprays around and puts the mouse stuff out for me. He did something on the outside perimeter, which was supposed to help with the mice, and they always do such a really good job. He also sprayed for some spiders and I don’t see spiders anymore. When it was summertime, the wasps were horrible and he also sprayed for that and did some stuff. But whenever it gets warm, they're still pretty active. I talked with Terminix the last time because I was having money problems. I also spoke with Ben about it, and I had to put it off the last time. But, other than that, the pest activity has been okay since our service began with Terminix.

We built a house this year and we started using Terminix when we moved in in June. We had them come out before we moved anything in and the reason I decided to call them is we noticed that the build actually dug up a lot of insects and we didn’t wanna live with them. They come out quarterly but I've messaged them about coming back out for spiders and they came out at no additional cost. Also, the techs are always very knowledgeable and friendly. They ask if we have any questions.
On the regularly scheduled services, I get a text and an email about three days in advance saying they're coming out. And on the day they're coming out, I can track their progress, so I know when they're coming and if I need to schedule an extra service, I go online and schedule it there. After the initial contact, I can schedule and say, “I'll be home on this day,” or if it's just an outside thing, I can just unlock our gate and let them come in if I need to. It has been amazing since our service. Even months after they spray, we have to go out and sweep the dead crickets off the front porch every morning. So it's good. There are some spiders that are pretty hardy that come back, but I've never had anything as much as in other places where I haven't used their service.

He "inspected the house " and said there was really nothing he could do to prevent the mice coming in but would send a service tech to catch mice. We cancelled the contract. The tech showed up, rudely carried 2 traps of glue - which my daughter told him would not work for her dogs - and said, "Stick these behind the fridge." What a joke - then they charged me 200.00 minus a 50.00 coupon. They offer 30 day money back but the manager Brian called me and refused to issue a refund in complete denial of their own policies. The sugar ants started in the garage and tried to get into the kitchen a little bit and then to the restrooms. None of the areas that the Terminix tech treated last time came back except for the bathroom. Terminix came back today again for the routine visit. They came on time, and the tech came out the truck to see if we needed any inside treatment. That was really good and I appreciated it. He put a little bit more medicine where the ants came back.
I'm very satisfied with Terminix because before I got them, I used to try to do it on my own, and a lot of times, whatever I used would work for a while, and then it would stop. When I schedule a service, Terminix usually gives me an appointment online, and if I'm unavailable, then I'll change it. We tend to have ants which was initially what I contacted Terminix for. We needed somebody to come and spray the house every month, especially in the summertime. When it’s time for my service, Terminix sends me an email to let me know and they tell me what day and a window of time. If that doesn't work for me, then I call the technician because I have his number specifically. If it's the end of the month and I need to get it in for the month, then we have to try to go ahead and get it in. Usually, it works out fine. Everything’s been perfect with our interaction with the technicians from Terminix. I’ve had the new technician for a year and he’s very courteous and prompt. I don’t have any problems with him.
We’ve had them for four years and I have a yearly contract with them. I pay $35 a month. One month, they spray inside and one month, they spray outside because we also have brown recluse spiders, so you have to stay on top of those. In the last year, Terminix changed the formula they were using and with the new one, I’m not finding as many active spiders and not even as many dead ones as they used to be. The ant situation is a yearly thing to keep up with but I haven't had too many of those coming in either. We had one little thing with termites in our garage on one's corner of the wall. So, we have a contract for termites too and they come in once a year. Terminix is rather expensive, considering what they do.

We haven't had birds for several years but if I ever had an issue and I’ve called, they’ve come back out.
Right now, we’ve got something though. They were scheduled to come and when the guy came that day, it was raining. But since he was here, he asked if he could just do the inside then come out and do the outside when the rain stopped. I said that was fine. Then there were a couple of weeks that he could come but I wasn’t gonna be here. It ended up being several weeks. The technician came out to do the outside and now, I got another bill which I shouldn’t have gotten because this is still an extension from the service when he came and it was raining. This has happened before too. So I’m iffy about having them do the inside without the outside. If they’re gonna be here, I’d rather them doing both and we’re done. When I first started with Terminix, the service was just for termites. They come back and check every year, and I pay for that. It was only about four years ago that I started with the pest control as well because I had carpenter ants. I've had Terminix for about seven years. Initially, I would come home and there would be a invoice hanging from my door saying that the Terminix guy was here and inspected. I had a bill and for all I know, all the guy did was come stick a bill on my door and then leave. I complained about that a number of times to no avail.
I've made a point to tell Terminix to call me, so I could go home and have them come inside because I would still see carpenter ants on the windowsills. The problem with that was many times I would again see that bill on the doorknob when I specifically asked the operator to have the technician call me because I live close to my home, and I could go there and open up the door, so that they can come in. But that has gotten better. In the last couple of years, I started getting calls from the technicians usually the day of or the day before that they're coming out, so I can unlock the back gate. So, he can get back there and check for termites and spray for pests.

He did things very quickly and was in and out in 10 minutes at most. It didn’t look like a very hard job I wouldn’t mind taking.
However, some years ago I commented that their price was very high. So they reduced it, but I see it’s creeping back up again. The last experience I had with Terminix was I got a notice on my phone that the tech was on his way and I couldn't break free from what I was doing then. When I came home, I found a ticket of service and it was for supposedly spraying the entire house which was impossible. The backyard at my house is a privacy fence that’s six foot tall and I have a gate on each side of my house and they remained locked at all times.
This has happened one other time, that I have been unavailable, which means the tech cannot get into my backyard. So the only thing he could have serviced would have been about probably 75 feet at the front of my house. Also, the tech doesn’t do the interior at all. He does the complete outside when I’m here. I stay out there with him. And he kinda cleans the spider webs down off of the front porch and around the front and the back of the house. He usually takes care of that but that was not done this past time.
The reason they can’t get the tech to come back to treat is because of a bill. It was an August treatment that has not been paid in full. We have already talked and Terminix said that they were gonna call the service manager. The service manager was gonna call me and see what he can do about this bill. Other than that, I’m satisfied. The tech comes once a quarter. He pulls his long hose out and sprays around the exterior of my house and if he doesn’t put the spray, he usually comes with the pellets and he sprinkles them around the entire perimeter of my house. I paid Terminix $300 a year for 15 years and $4500 later, I went to use it the first time, believing I had termites, but they told me that I had the wrong kind of termites and my policy didn’t count. That’s what really was not very happy. How the hell would a consumer know one termite from another? I wound up having to get another company to come and take care of it.
I have a normal service contract and I’m a yearly person. There is a predetermined scheduled and they send me an email and tell me when my person would be here. Then they come and go. But they’re here six minutes and they charge me 100 bucks. That’s my normal experience with Terminix. They walk around the house and spray a little bit of insecticide. They call a perimeter patrol and wipe down any spider webs, if they see it. Sometimes, they spend more time filling out my paperwork and sitting in my driveway. I’m not a moron so I know what it is. All these trucks have GPSes and their companies are watching their service times.
I don't have a lot of pest activity in my home but I have a lot of ant issues. We live in Florida and mostly, I take care of them myself because when you try to reschedule with Terminix, you talk to some person that really has an attitude and then they tell you someone would be here between 2:00 and 5:00. My husband likes to walk around with the Terminix staff because we have stations behind the garage and places where people wouldn’t know where they are. When the Terminix staff is here, normally, he checks the stations and that’s all he does. If they’re wet, he replaces the little piece that goes inside. We have 18 stations, so that's a lot. We went to the doctor and when we came back, there was a card in the mailbox which was annoying. It was a very bad experience. Also, there were times that they would just come. I’ve had Terminix for a long time and I asked the staff other things. He would say that they gotta come into the house and look at it instead of asking me if I would like to make an appointment.
My daughter bought an old house and I sent Terminix to her. She had them a couple of years but she was very dissatisfied. She called another extermination company and was much more pleased with them. My contract is up end of December, so I have to figure out what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna try her company and see what they tell me and then, maybe I'll come back to Terminix.

Terminix has been coming out regularly once a month for at least 2 years now. They do routine maintenance. The technician does his whole thing outside and then asks if there's anything going on inside, and usually there's not. He was here Thursday or Friday and it was fun! He's doing great! He's doing his job and we're happy. We don't have bugs and we're satisfied with the service.

We bought our new home and we needed some service. We chose Terminix and we have service from them every three months. When the technician comes out, she's very courteous. She also does what she's supposed to do. Since our service with Terminix, the pest activity in our home has been a whole much better. But sometimes, the chemicals they use are not as effective as I hope it would. From time to time, I see these little bugs, so Terminix techs had to come back. And when they do, they recheck and do what they need to do. I would suggest them to others.

Terminix wanted to spray, so they came out. Todd, the tech, was a good and cool guy. He was also pretty knowledgeable. But once he left, some more ants were there the next day. I called Terminix back and Todd came back out again. He said that he could try to make it in one day but I wasn't there when he arrived and I missed him. But initially, he came back on the scheduled appointment time and my wife wasn't there. But he went out and did some other things around the house, so it was okay. So far, the ants are still in and it's kind of frustrating because every time I call Terminix, there's a two or three-day wait. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody else. Our church is not open through the week as far as 8:00 to 5:00 and when the technician comes out, he doesn’t call us or anything. He just services the outside. We’ve had Terminix for termites for a while, but also last year we found out that even though they were coming out inspecting for termites, we have termites on the inside. But we have nobody to actually stay down at the church until the technician comes.

There seems to be a huge gap between Customer Service and local branches. I received a notice that my account was delinquent and "suspended" for non-pay. I called the Manager at the branch to discuss immediately. Left a voicemail message indicating that my account could not be delinquent as it was on "auto-pay" to my AMEX. When I called Customer Service they said that my account was cancelled by the Manager back in July of 2018. I did have a conversation with him but we did not leave the call with cancelling my contract.
I called again today and advised that I had not had service in over two months and that I had not cancelled my contract and that there was a service interruption. I asked for an accommodation to the billing since this was not my error. I also asked for a price for a 2019 renewal and was provided a lower fee. When the CSR called the branch office she was told that no accommodation could be made because the local branch did not have internet service. She said I could wait to hear from someone or just "cancel the contract".
I have only had service for a year and during this time had over 4 different technicians due to turn-over. Additionally, I was advised by a technician that I had to pay for service between my quarterly visits while I still had pests. The CSR said this was inaccurate information. I have tried to continue service to no avail. Terminix is very difficult to do business with in my opinion.

This past year, I called them out four times in between because I might have seen a spider and wanted to get it sprayed again. Their service is going fine. However, I had a problem with the new guy who had started to come during the summer. At that time, he wasn’t very professional. I didn’t like the interaction between us and I didn’t like the fact that he was calling me ‘Bud’. I wrote a little report up. I sent an email back to him voicing my concerns about it. After that, it seemed like it was taken care of because the interaction between us now is totally different. So, it’s okay now. Other than that, everything is fine with Terminix. There have been different technicians and some of them have been what I consider good. However, there was one time some of them have ignored what I told them, which didn’t make me happy. So, I'm satisfied with their service most of the time because I'm still taking it. There are fewer scorpions now and I'm happy about that. I live out in the country, and Terminix came out because of the bugs and the rats. They come out ever three months, and they tell me when it is time for a service. The tech who comes is very nice and accommodating. The job he does is very good. As far as bugs, I don't really have much of that anymore. They seem to take care of the rats when I do have that problem. But, the rats and the mice come every year, and we are not getting rid of them permanently.
Also, the bill goes up and up, but I can call and get it back down to a certain amount -- I am a senior citizen. So, I do like that part. I told the technician, "You know what, I guess I'm gonna just have to quit. I just can't afford more than $80." He said, "Well, let me call, and I'll get it down for you." And, so, he did. Because I had a different technician and I wasn't home when the technician came when they billed me, I called him and told him, and they downed it. If they are gonna give me the discount, they should just do it. They don't just automatically give it to me. I shouldn't have to call every month to get it done.
The billing process has changed. It was that I could pay the technician-- because most of the time, I was here as he told me he was coming on a certain day, the night before. But the way they've got the thing set up now, I can't really do that. So they have to bill me, and then I have to pay them. I had a little problem one time when I gave the technician a check, and they had put a new system in. As to how to get the check to the billing department, it wasn't getting done. They called me and they wanted me to pay for it right away. I said that I've written the check, and I'm not paying for it. Nevertheless, I only had that problem once.

When we moved into our new home, there were termite ants, the black ones, on the front walk. Our friend did the construction work and he said that we better get it because it could do damage. So I called up Terminix. They came and then they came back a couple of weeks later because it took time for them to kill the ants and they were inside the house as well. The man's name was Anthony and he sprayed the windows in the back and the front where we saw the ants. He also did in the house wherever we saw the ants.
What happened though was that I had paid all the way through November. But last time, he came and said he would see me in February. I called up and they said that the bugs were in hibernation because of the cold. I didn't feel like paying for something like that. I called to cancel it but the woman I spoke with said that I didn't have to. She said I could just not pay for that quarter and that's what I'm doing. My daughter was also afraid that there would termites because the first time that the plank was removed, there were termites there. Anthony told me that it's a different contract but I don’t see anything and if the termites do get to the wood, we're gonna know it.
Anthony was very nice and thorough, and he explained things. You can't get better than having a stranger come to your home, who's gonna fix the problem, and he explains to you what you have. There were also bees on a deck leading into the house where I left the dogs sitting. He told me that these black ants were coming from a tree that's over 100 years old. I've had other people that I didn’t want here. They were here once and I got rid of them. Initially, my Realtor got me someone but this guy was charging me an arm and a leg, and nothing was being done.

When I asked him what a particular bug was, he took the time to tell me that. He also made suggestions and even suggested that I cut my grass and the weed around my house. Sometimes, people are timid and don’t wanna tell the homeowner what they need to do, even though it’s their home, and sometimes, we need to know those things.
I noticed a difference in the pest activity within the inside of my home since the techs started coming out, but outside, there is a bunch of spiders, roaches, and scorpions. I don’t like that if they have other homes that they need to do out in the neighborhood, sometimes, I can't get the services done or it is hard to schedule an appointment outside of my quarterly service. If I’m trying to get them to come because I’m seeing an activity, sometimes it’s hard to get the extra additional service. I can call and have them come in anytime, but that is not always the case. I said, "What's this gonna do for the mice?" They said, "Oh, you have a mouse problem? Okay, fine." They put out four traps and that was it. A man came out in January of this year. He actually looked at the exterior of my property. The front and the back. Then he came in and he looked at the walls. He said the problem was that the mice were coming in from next door. He said they do have a treatment for that. They came along and they treated it with caulking and that closed it off. There were no mice after they did that. They were very good. They seemed to know what I was talking about and they handled it very well. The last couple of calls did not go very well because I expected them to treat for the darn mice, and it wasn't happening!
The last thing that I had with them, they said they sprayed the front of my property. But they never called to tell me that they were coming out. They did not leave a note that they had been there. I live in the City of Philadelphia and I live in a row home. My house is 15-foot wide. They said they sprayed the exterior of my property. The only thing they could have sprayed because they wouldn't know was the back of my property. The front of my property is 15 feet. And they charged me $110. About 10 years ago, we signed a contract with Terminix. They guaranteed our house would remain free of termites and the contract sort of got dropped. We stopped getting the renewals from Terminix and one thing led to another. I called the local office and they started sending the technicians again, but we never had any kind of agreement. So it was this really weird thing. But Terminix continued to bill us every year, but we never had an agreement.
Then, two years ago, we sort of revisited it with the local office. They sent out one of their supervisors and he was somewhat helpful. This guy decided inspecting the house wasn’t good enough anymore and now they have us set up on this new plan. It used to be they just came out and inspected for termites. Now, they don't really inspect for termites. They put all these canisters around the perimeter which cost more money and they check those to see if anything has been eating the bait. Nothing ever eats the bait, but that’s kind of the plan we’re on. It’s more of a preventive plan.
The scheduling works okay and as far as dealing with the technicians on time and what they’re gonna do, we have no complaints or issues with Terminix. But when we have to deal with bigger things like what is the agreement that we’re signing, getting a copy of the agreement, getting them to explain to us what the agreement is and is not, they fail miserably at that. Getting all that, that gets left to their supervisor or the guy who manages the office. That has not been a good experience. They come out, tell us one thing, and then when we get something in the mail, it’s different than what we thought we talked to them about.
Also, we always end up talking to somebody different. We never get the same person twice. But we’ve had the same technician the last two times and that has been kind of nice. The people at the office just kick us to the central office and the central office doesn’t know anything. I’m probably gonna drop Terminix at the end of this current contract. It doesn’t feel like it’s worth it anymore.

It's usually the ants that would start showing up in a different part of the house. And it's usually after I had done something, like some sort of little construction project, and disturbed the outside of the house that they would find their way into the house. So then Terminix would focus on that part of the house. It was like chasing the pests around. But the service significantly reduced the pest activity.

Due to a mouse problem back in July, I called Terminix and they put out traps, put in the chemical they need to into those things, and then put out the flypaper kind of stuff. I paid to have the whole outside checked, and so, the tech walked through the different places with me and showed me the pipes where the mice might be coming up from the basement into the first floor of the house. The guy also went up on the roof. The techs have done all that I know for them to do and everyone that has been sent out has done excellent service. The last time a tech was here we did everything inside, and since it was a different guy, I also walked him through to show him where the traps were. He replaced the bait and those traps, and gave me another trap or two because he thought the mice might be coming in the furnace room in the basement.
My only complaint, however, is that there is a breakdown in communication with the service call because when I call the 800 and tell them to do a different time, that doesn’t always go through in communicating. So, it’s between the 800 number’s communication and the people in Roanoke to come over here. Other than that, it has been a wonderful experience. I’m completely happy with what Terminix has done.

I've been with Terminix for 50 years or so and they've done us good. The only thing is that their fee just got out of range. We’ve had this contract with them since way back in the 60s and they sprayed the house one time. They come every year and inspect it, and that’s good, but they’ve been charging me way too much money because they've never had to spray it again. And they agreed with me. Thank goodness they gave us a discount. Last time, they visited for a deduction on the payment and they did it so I'm well-pleased with them. The technicians were good too. They did all they could. They did that one spray and we’ve never had another issue since. It must have been a good job and if it’s lasted 50 years, it’ll outlast me. I’m 85 now. So far, we’re pleased with Terminix and I would recommend them to a friend.

Terminix rep came to house on Monday 11/12/18. Pricing seemed reasonable so I gave him my cc. He wrote it down, said he'd have to send it in to corporate and the next day I'd receive an email detailing my service quote and receipt. And service would begin on Thursday. I went to use my debit card on Wednesday morning to get coffee. My card declined. I called the bank and learned on Tuesday, my card had been used at several locations without my permission. The service rep was the only guy that had my cc on Monday and I had never received an email as promised. I informed the company via their main website contact me form regarding what happened, never received a reply. The service guy called on Thursday prior to coming to my house to begin work, I declined service and told him what happened. Again never received a reply from the company. I will never do business with this company again.

Not as bad as it was at first, but there’s still too many roaches. The treatment is supposed to be every three months, but he has been here every other month or so, because he's been trying to get to the bottom of it.

Terminix's tech came a day early, but I was able to accommodate him. I had a total of $1,200 treatment in August for subterranean and dry wood, and then I found pellets and wings upstairs. I started calling in October and I didn’t get anybody to say that they would come back until December. Finally, when he came, he found the problem was in a closet in the study. He treated it very well and explained it to me, and it was a good service. However, when Terminix sends out techs to do treatment, they leave the toxin all over the sidewalk and the porch. Then I track it inside and my kitties lick it off my shoes and off the floor and then they throw up. A tech also broke the spring that opens the screen door on my front porch getting the ladder in and out. They also upended a shoe rack in my closet and the shoes were all over the floor of my closet so when I opened the closet door, I could hardly do it because the shoes were in the way.

But most of the time they come out when I’m at work and I can’t let them do the inside. They just chose to make the appointment for me, then they left me a note on the door that said they were here and couldn’t do the inside. If they had asked me, I probably would have been there. Long story short, I called Terminix to come and exterminate for bed bugs. It cost us over $1000 for service and a 90 day treatment was guaranteed also. They want you to also continue treatment yourself, which defeats the purpose of you paying them for it. They expect you to make the appointments after the 1st initial treatment so if you have a busy schedule, you won’t keep up with the 90 days treatment. Long story short, after 3 treatments from them since June, I still have bed bugs. I had to throw out my living room furniture which I’ve only had for 2 years and now I have to throw out both the beds in my kids room which are only a year old. They won’t respond to bad reviews either, only to the good ones. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

They schedule the service and they let us know a week in advance when they're coming out. Overall, we're pretty satisfied with the technicians. When we had some ants in the kitchen, the guy put some things in there. When we had some palmetto bugs at night in the dishwasher, he took care of that. I had some carpenter bees outside too and he suggested I get traps. He also did some extra spraying for those. Occasionally, we'd have something and if we call Terminix, they'd usually respond quite well. They didn’t once and it took us three calls to get the guy out here. Terminix has been searching out and trying to take care of our pest problem with underground critters that are digging holes all over the yard, around trees and bushes. Derrick from Terminix has been putting out traps, baiting and trying to see and monitor the results of that. He has been following up and so far, so good. This problem has been going on for three years. Terminix treats a hole and it closes up, but then another hole appears. We might have made some progress, but it's hard to really quantify.
Other than that, Terminix has also sprayed the whole house and outside for pest control. The incidence of sightings and infestations, such as scorpions, getting into the house has been reduced significantly over the last number of years that we've been treating. The tech does a very good job on site. He's very courteous, good at following up, answering, investigating, and coming back to double-check on things even if we're not here. So, he's very thorough in that respect. I would recommend Terminix to others. Occasionally, when people are a little lax with open doors and not following up, things do get in. Everything was fine and we really liked the tech. He was a good, friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about providing us service. He was probably the fifth tech we’ve had since we’ve lived here. All of the techs were very cordial. But this person was extra special in that sense.
The only issue I have with Terminix is that it seems as though they are raising prices faster than our income rate is going up. I called them last time that there was a notice of a price increase and the representative I talked with asked me if I was a veteran, which I am, so she gave me some kind of a discount on that basis. When all was said and done, the price for the quarterly service was reduced to a few dollars less than what I was paying at the time.
I also feel that the termite service is overpriced for the annual cost. We pay around $300 plus just for that service. Terminix techs come out every so often and do something including an annual termite inspection, which for the last two times we were not here when it was done. But we were notified that it was going to be done. We have also asked Terminix once for a special treatment when we had a kind of a special infestation. Surprisingly, I received a call from Jeremy, a manager in the local office. He was accommodating and provided a couple of telephone numbers for local contact. I was NOT surprised that he was unaware of the problem. It seems that the Terminix communication system is designed to consolidate all customer contact to a call center in Florida, thereby eliminating the need to deal with annoying customers on a local level. My experience with that call center is dismal. The employment criteria seem to be limited to being able to walk and chew gum simultaneously. I revise my rating upward based on Jeremy's response, but my critical comments of Terminix's approach to customer relations stand.

Terminix does a monthly pest control service and they let us know when it's time for the service by telephone and email. The technician, if we're home, tries to make contact with us when he's here and the techs that have come out have been fine. However, we've been a Terminix customer for more than 30 years and the thing that I find absolutely amazing is that in that 30 years’ time, I've never seen or talked to anyone above the level of their service technician. And that only way I've ever been able to get anything accomplished is because I became friends with the service tech. When I call Terminix, I end up talking to a call center in Florida and they are next to useless. I need to speak to somebody at the management level in the local office, not in Florida.
We have canceled two services that were on-going, the annual services because of the fact that we couldn't schedule. They would tell us, arbitrarily when they were gonna show up, and they did not show up and didn't reschedule. If it wasn't for the local technicians, we would terminate the service. The only line of defense they've got are these guys that show up here every month. Beyond that, it's a mindless, uncaring organization.

I have been with Terminix for four years, and for a couple of months over the summer, I had to make several calls back because I was having consistent issues with roaches, spiders and ants. I felt like a couple of times, it was just literally a run-through. It wasn’t very thorough and I feel like that’s why I had to call back to have two more service calls. With one of the guys, he tells me that I'll be fine, that he'll come back and drop some things off. There was even a time when a guy came through to do a treatment after one of my calls because I was having issues. And some of my blinds were messed up and it was not very customer service-friendly.
I didn’t feel like my home was treated as if they would treat their own. And if they would treat their own that way, then that’s definitely now how I would like my house. But it wasn't done with care and consistency. It was like, “Let me just go ahead so I can mark this off my list and get off work for the day.” Because I was towards the end on all their service calls because I work. I can’t sit at home from 9:00 to 3:00 or 9:00 to 12:00. I’m the type to do an end-of-the-day appointment.
Meanwhile, the customer reps over the phone were great. They say all the right things. The last time I called, the lady I spoke with was very helpful. I got frustrated ‘cause literally the day before, the guy had come out to spray again. I was in my closet and I saw a roach crawling from under a dresser. So, she took the time to put me on hold and talked with the manager and came back. She said that the reason that’s happening is that they’ve treated. She then told me to give it four days and if I still see something after, then I should call them back. As for the technicians, there was this short guy who was sent out because I also had problems with wasps.
The tall guy told me I needed to call back and have somebody else out because they couldn’t do a whole home assessment to figure out why I was getting wasps. And the first guy, who treats, gave me the wrong information. He didn't do the job there. And the other man who handles termites didn't even come to the house. He told me to just call in for the treatment. And if you keep calling for extra treatments, then that would alert the manager that your home is not being treated properly, and they’ll make the person come out and do the right thing. So, that was a little frustrating because I rushed home that day for him to come in and do the whole assessment that I was told would be done, and then he said he doesn't need to do that.
So far, I’ve had a few spiders, but that’s because it’s getting cold here. It's not the result of a bad treatment. And then there has been a couple of roaches but that even hasn’t improved since August. However, this past summer, there seemed to be an increase in pest activity out of the blue and I don't know the treatment that I'm on. There were times that Terminix came out and treated it from the exterior and I wasn’t home. They put a crate on my door, but I don’t know what they did. So, when those exterior treatments were happening, in my assessments, they didn’t do anything because I was having the same if not, an increase from the interior, which is an appalling thing.
Still I need to see how between now and the next summer’s gonna go because if I have to deal with what I dealt with this year, I'd likely go work with somebody else. I paid too much money to have issues. Every year, I have an issue with wasps, spiders, as well as ants and roaches. It’s the same four things every single year. Other than that, there's this tech I had two years ago. When he came, he literally spent about an hour and a half on my house. He treated every corner, he was up in the attic. He was the only thorough field service person I‘ve ever had.

Terminix is horrible and the most unprofessional company I have ever met in my life. They were supposed to spray for bugs and they did. But the technician came out unannounced, so when he showed up at 10:30 in the morning, I answered the door and I was in my underwear. Then said person went to his company and told everybody about it. About a couple months later, that technician told the neighbor that lived down the street that I said that the other technician that came to my house and sprayed for bugs was a wife beater. He also said that I got that other technician fired because I said that.
The two managers that run this Redding district, Ken and Robert, are like family members with the first technician that was at my house spreading rumors. So he’s not fired but they fired the other one. I called them 40 times but they wouldn’t even call me back. Then one of them called and said sorry that he hadn’t called me for three weeks. He said he was hunting and he was talking about it, but I didn't care about that. They also tried charging me for cancelling my membership because I didn’t want the first technician out here anymore. They said they didn't understand my reason and that what I told them would never happen.
Other than that, while I was with Terminix, I got the service where they were supposed to come out quarterly and spray outside. After the first time that they came out, they said I wouldn’t have a problem for four months because of whatever they sprayed. But I live by the river and there are so many spiders and bugs. They're everywhere, so it wasn’t enough to be a quarterly service. So I was gonna have them come out more, but they didn't wanna do that.

Terminix's service hasn’t been the same and we’ve been having issues with it. We had to keep calling back. The technician that was doing the service before would give me a heads-up call and say that he was about 45 minutes or half an hour from our house. My wife works 10 minutes from the house and that way, I can call her and she can go over to our house. However, Terminix stopped doing that. We had scheduled services a couple of times for the past year and a half and the tech had shown up twice. The young man that used to come to our house went to another company. He was great and I tried to tell the other technicians how that kid worked, but they weren't worried about it.
We like Terminix, but there is another company out there that I can switch to if they are not gonna give me service. They are quick to send me a bill for the three-month service and every time that I would call, they would say that I am still $36 short. I would say, “I haven’t even gotten a service in a couple of months. Do you expect me to pay you now when you haven’t even serviced me?” It is about $85 every three months and it isn’t chump change. I told them that I can go to another company if they kept that up, although I’m giving them a chance to service us.
We had a good experience with Terminix prior to that. If the tech was very busy and the appointment would be at 4:00, he would say, “Hey Pete, I’m running a little late. Tell your wife I’m gonna be around 5:00.” I'd tell him I appreciate him calling me, and then I’d call my wife. However, this past year, my wife was not too happy with the service. I’ve been with Terminix for more than 10 years, so I expected to have a bit of customer service. I wish that they would give me a heads up or even send me a text on the phone. The guy that called my wife and said, “Well, I’m gonna be there around 7:00 or 6:00,” never showed up and never gave her a call back to say sorry. I’m hoping it is gonna get better. I don’t wanna leave Terminix because they’ve been very good over the past years.

We bought an older house and at one point, it had termites. It didn't have termites when we bought it, but we wanted a preventative kind of thing. So, we contacted Terminix. They're mainly screening for our termites. They also let us know if there's any problem under the house since my husband and I are both older now and we don't crawl under the house very well. We've been with them so long and they do treatment every so often. We usually get a letter from them that says that they're gonna schedule a service for such and such a date. If we have a problem, there's a phone number on there but we usually don't, so we just go with whatever date they're gonna show up.
The technicians that they send out are good. They're courteous when they come and they're helpful. They do what they're supposed to do and they usually show up on time. One time, we had a water leak that we didn't know we had under the house and the guy told us about that. Luckily, we haven't had any further issues. We haven't had any issue with termites since we've lived here. So, the treatment that they do, the regimen that they follow for that, has been effective.

Terminix comes out for routine spraying and it’s been fine. They usually do the exterior of my home. Their technicians are friendly and professional. We have problems with spiders, so they were supposed to take the cobwebs down. They came back and did it. I've been working with Terminix for more than five years, and the service has been working for me.

We had some bugs initially and Terminix took care of them. Then, about a year ago, I happened to see bugs inside the house and the tech came in and treated them. Rey, Terminix’s tech, waved when he pulled up and about that time, I had to go into the house. I had some stuff I was doing and I saw him out doing his inspection. By the time I was done, he was done and he was gone. I have one complaint though. My Terminix service payment is yearly and due in March and last month, I already got a bill that said, “Pay your bill now.” It’s not due in October, so it shouldn’t be bad if people can’t pay it half a year early. I’m throwing that money rather than use it. Terminix should not be sending out bills half a year before they’re due.

I've had a standing contract with Terminix for pest control and termite inspections for the last 20 years. The tech comes every few months to spray around the house, and also, if I see anything. He's doing a good job. He's also always on time and very cordial.

Terminix comes to my home once a year for termite inspection and prevention services. Everything went fine the last time they came out. They scheduled their visit, came out, checked well, and gave us a report. Contacting them is all done through their messaging service. We do what we can, but I would like to get a better price. Nevertheless, the techs have always been friendly and they've made my wife and children feel comfortable.

Every three months, someone from Terminix comes to do pest control. And we're now at a point where they just come in the middle of the day and I don't even have to be there. I just get a phone call from the person saying that they did the service and I'm all set. So far, I'm not seeing spiders and bugs so it seems pretty thorough. Overall, the service we have from Terminix is cost-efficient. And they did what they said they were gonna do.

Terminix is priced too expensive compared to other places. Nonetheless, roaches are my main concern and since using Terminix, there’s been an improvement. Their team recently called me to schedule the tech's time window, then he came out and sprayed the outside.

6 to 7 months ago, we started seeing insects in our kitchen. We have been customers of Terminix for 11 years and had no complaints until this year. After 2 or 3 focused treatments in addition to our routine pest control, there was no improvement. We had the direct contact number for our technician, but he stopped returning calls or responding to texts requesting help with our insect problem. After speaking to a regional service manager over the summer, communications improved for a while. Sadly, as fall approached, our technician became unreachable again.
Most recently, the regional service manager also can't seem to be bothered with returning calls. Terminix continues to bill us and collect on the routine service despite its ineffectiveness. Since no one is willing to return our calls to seek resolution, I will be terminating our relationship after 11 years. If you are considering hiring Terminix, be prepared to fend for yourself if you have any problems requiring more than minimal response or service.

We live in a woody area and we have problems with the number of bugs in our house. There were 10 ladybugs in my ceiling when I woke up two days ago and I’ve been finding bugs all over our place which is unfortunate. We've had Terminix for about four months and a tech comes out every three months. We get texted when the three months are up with possible times and I tell Terminix if the times work.
The first tech visit we had was great and all the bugs were gone for a while. Unfortunately, the second one was not nearly as thorough. The visit three weeks ago was not great. My roommates said the tech was in and out in about an hour. He sprayed the outside again. But when I came home that night, there were still ladybugs on my ceiling. None of the traps that were set the first time were changed and they still have the bugs that have been there for months. We still are having the same bug problems we’ve been having. There have popped up in recent times. I don’t know if we’d have another Terminix service. It’s all kind of pointless.

I’ve been a Terminix customer for decades in multiple cities and I’ve always been pleased with their response and capability. They usually call me and tell me when they’re gonna show up and if it doesn’t fit my schedule, we can reschedule it. Their representatives were professional and courteous. I’m also pleased with the technicians that they sent. They're very thorough and were professional as you can get. I’d tell my friend to try Terminix. I’d tell them to check to make sure that it’s competitive with what they presently have and give them a shot.

I signed a contract where Terminix comes in and checks the box quarterly as a maintenance in my rental property. The schedule of the service was pre-done as part of the contract and they send me an email when it’s due. They’d show up and the service guy calls me when he’s done and let’s me know what’s going on. They were really nice over the phone and everything was done over the phone or via email. I like the hands-off experience with Terminix that it’s just very easy and what I’ve expected. Also, I like the size of the company and their prices are about the same as everyone else.

I had termites and I picked Terminix for pest control services. I trust them and they take care of me. Though I am not home much, the technician has been great and they would call me and I’d tell them to go ahead. Since I started the service, I have not seen any critters or bugs and it seems to be doing fine.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Steve! We love hearing about the incredible work our technicians are doing. Have a great day!
