Excellent value for the money and love the egg holder, extra-large for double pack eggs. The other draws are large also. Very happy!! Also if you have a whole house filter for your home you do not need a filter for the refrigerator saving you money.

Constant trouble with the ice maker...19 calls for repair...ice maker replace three times but still having trouble. We have been weeks without ice cubes. We do understand that ice makers are a problem in most models and most makes but we have had this model for five years now and think there ought to be a solution. Everything else about this model is just fine. Sad to have an ice maker stand in the way of perfection.

Bought a Samsung RF18 for my RV - got it in and running - used it two weeks and turned it off. Next year (NOW OUT OF WARRANTY) only the freezer worked. Spent 10 hours with three different service Techs to determine there was a Short in the fan wiring that could not be Fixed! Out of Warranty and Not Serviceable - Did I mention it was JUNK. We purchase this Fridge for our RV which was screaming for a full sized Fridge. It is lightweight, perfect in size, very quiet, doesn't create excessive heat and most importantly has a low power draw. We have owned it two years and remains issue free and takes the abuse we RVers tend to put on a fridge. Highly recommend.

I am writing this letter to inform Samsung and Home Depot of a very real problem that my family and I have with one of your products. We bought a refrigerator on November of 2017 from Home Depot. Very good looking fridge. The sales personnel talked up a very good advertise for it and it was priced very good. Also we were told by Home Depot that it had a 2 year warranty. We didn't think anything about extending a warranty due to the Samsung name being strong in our household. Samsung phones to Tv's and computer monitors. Until March of this year 2019 hit.
We noticed the bottom portion where the freezer is starting to "ice" up. Lots of ice crystals forming all over the food. We thought, well maybe it's because we are running the swamp cooler and the humidity is entering the fridge when we open it. Never gave it a thought that less than a year and a half later that something would be wrong with our brand new fridge. Boy were we wrong! A month later, my wife came home and everything in the fridge had melted and spoiled! We checked the temperature on the door display and it displayed the right temperature. Or should I say, the temperature it was supposed to be at.
After panicking and trying to salvage whatever food was left by moving it to our garage fridge, we decided to browse the internet for answers. And boy did we find a ton of them with these model types. Apparently this model has an issue which you Samsung will not acknowledge! So after read the instruction of the hundreds of people with the same problem, we reset the fridge and its display came back with the true temperature reading. The fridge is usually set at 0 for freezer and 36 for the fridge. It came back at 57 for the freezer and 71 for the fridge. Big difference after the reset.
So obviously now, the fridge kicks back on and starts to cool. So this now happens about once or twice a week. We have to unplug the fridge every 2 to 3 days just to make sure the on board computer gets the right reading and clears the glitch this fridge has. And almost every time we do reset it, the temperature is off by 5 to 10 degrees. We are obviously frustrated.
But that's not the worst part. We call Samsung to get someone to repair the fridge because as we were told "It has a 2 year warranty" and we were told that, "No, your model has only 1 year warranty." We were shocked! Not only by that but by when we told Samsung that we were told by Home Depot that it supposedly had a 2 year warranty, that Samsung actually came back with, "Oh sorry, we changed it this year". How can you sell an item, tell the customer it comes with 2 year warranty, not only did Home Depot say it, but when you google Samsung refrigerator warranty, it also says 2 years. Then when one breaks, back out of it completely and say "Our bad, it's one year now".
We have 2 kids, we are not rich in any way. We work very hard and try our best to do everything we can for our family. We mustard up the finances to buy this fridge. Not only did we buy the fridge, we also bought a Samsung dishwasher for a matching set. And now we sit here with a fridge we cant use. We lost 300 dollars worth of food and have a $2,000.00 dollar piece of furniture in the kitchen now.
After arguing with Samsung for hours which by the way were very rude on the phone, they did us a "favor" by sending a tech out free of charge to "look" at it. The guy came out, dusted off the back and cleaned the front grill at the bottom and said there's nothing wrong with it and that there was nothing that he could do. Didn't do any testing on it at all! He actually said it's probably our fault for by not monthly cleaning the back of it? Are you serious.? Our Kenmore in the garage has been running for 21 years non stop. And Samsung wants to blame us because there was some dust on the back of the fridge? Wow Samsung, you really know how to stand behind your products.
This has set our family back bad financially. We have to use our old fridge in the garage now which is smaller and doesn't accommodate our now growing family, which is the reason we upgraded. Or should I say downgraded. We lost a lot of food. My son has allergies so we have to buy the expensive gluten free food for him. We are still paying on the fridge that you wont repair because of a warranty you lied about. Or that you said changed the next year after our purchase. The ice maker in the fridge is another story. Doesn't work, has to be cleared everyday or it wont make ice. All this in less than 2 years of owning it.
I will not let this go. I will write, paste and pass this story anyway I can. This is not right for you to sell a product and walk away from a known problem with these model refrigerators. We cannot afford to buy another one and we cringe at the payment due from Home Depot every month. This is not customer service! This is you ripping a family off from their dreams of having a nice home to raise their kids up in and having the tools to do it with. Thanks for crushing that Samsung and Home Depot.

If you want a great product to last you at least 5 years don't buy Samsung. Do research. Bad bad product!! Not only does it breakdown but no service guy will touch Samsung refrigerator with a ten foot pole. So now forced to go out and buy new one, 2years old. If you have Samsung come to your house to look at it be prepared to spend hundreds before they even diagnose it - Fan, ice maker and condenser. Fan goes bad and if you don't want to buy new one be prepared to completely give up ice maker because it is too expensive to fix. Would be easier to buy new one. Internet is filled with livid people. I would rate this refrigerator higher but ice forms behind the cover in back of the inside of the fridge which then stops the fan and then ice builds up and it's all downhill from there. I have lost a lot of food. Samsung, as far as I know, has not addressed this problem. The problem seems simple to fix as the heating element in the back where the water freezes is not adequate. About every 4-5 months I have to remove the inside cover and use a blow dryer to melt the ice.

We bought this fridge at Sears in 2012 during a Labor Day sale. I don't recall what it was about this fridge that stuck out to us. The salesman wouldn't let us purchase the fridge without the extended warranty. "I cannot let this fridge leave this building without this warranty," he said. I was angry, but did as told and bought the warranty for $300. Turns out he was right, this fridge has been pretty bad. The ice maker has had issues from Day 1. Ice also often builds up on the bottom and causes the fridge to stop chilling. Then we're dealing with chiseling out the ice and getting the floor all wet. It has to be totally defrosted monthly. Overall it is not a good unit. However the fridge is sitting right next to me so I don't want to say anything aloud as it may overhear me and completely crap out. I am superstitious like that. Lol!

I purchased this refrigerator in December 2016. Four months later the ice maker froze up and I'm sending emails to Samsung. None of the things they asked me to try helped. I just kept defrosting the refrigerator and trying different things. They finally sent a repairman that replaced the ice maker and a few months later I was back to defrosting the refrigerator again. Then in December of 2018 the fan behind the back panel in the refrigerator froze up and I had to replace that. Now I have to defrost my refrigerator every month or two to keep it working. I have the French door model with a pullout center refrigerated door and bottom freezer. I like the way it is laid out. The shelves move and some pull out to reach the back of the refrigerator. For someone who is a little short it is great. The ice maker has a design flaw and there is a lawsuit. We have had 2 replacements more if I do not do the following: About every week I pull out the ice bin and check for the ice build up in the back of the unit and remove what I can and dry it out using towels. You cannot use a hairdryer as this will damage the unit and take it out of warranty. When I leave to go out of town I turn off the water supply to the refrigerator and turn off the ice maker on the refrigerator panel. I also put a towel down, this way if there is any buildup then I can pull the towel out with the condensation build up on it. Other than the ice maker it is a good model.

I really like this fridge because of the price point. Although I do have a couple of issues. First being I hate that no matter what temp you put the fridge on you will have to eventually manually Defrost because there is no option to do it by itself. Second even after googling how to defrost it you have to basically take it apart and do it yourself no matter what. Thirdly I wish there was a way to either turn off the door open alarm or adjust the time. Overall, I’m pretty happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend as a good starter fridge.

One of my absolutely favorite feature of this refrigerator though is the built-in pitcher inside of the door. It can be used as a fruit infusion pitcher and it automatically refills itself! The bottom freezer has two drawers with separations and makes organization easy.
The four zone refrigerator drawer makes it easy to find snacks or other often used items. The easy access door with removable handled baskets is very handy and energy efficient. Samsung refrigerators are priced well, energy efficient, as well as nice to look at. I love the french doors and freezer on the bottom. The middle drawer is the favorite feature in this house. I have always loved their phones and TVs. "Don’t buy any other brands", I was advised. Why did I listen? Horrible appliances. Dishwasher does not clean, have to rewash and yes I had someone come in to look. Was told change to pods. Stovetop awful. Pilots never stable. Flame jumps very high. Always lights uneven. Stovetop also difficult to clean. Scratches easily. Refrigerator? Well let’s just say I can’t wait to win lotto to throw it out. Won’t even pass it along to anyone else. I am not that mean. All I can say is thank goodness I purchased another brand for my front load washer and dryer.

The Samsung fridge was selected because a counter-depth was required. After much research on issues with refrigerators it was clear that an in-door ice/water dispenser causes significant service calls, so we wanted to avoid that feature. In addition to a counter-depth our space would also only allow for a 33 inch wide appliance which means the cubic feet is reduced which is fine as we don't have a need for a huge machine. The drawback with this new fridge is the internal ice-bucket design. It is very difficult to remove the bucket and not spill ice.

I have bought Samsung French door refrigerator RF260BEAEWW in 2013.. It came defective since the freezer compartment never started freezing. The store took it back and delivered a new one. I had purchased 5 years warranty on it. And guess what, it is 5 years and 7 months and it broke down. The freezer quit freezing and refrigerator compartment doesn't keep cool temperatures well either. It did work 5 years that they guaranteed, but I would expect this big and expensive items should work longer and not break down right after warranty was over. My older refrigerator is 15 y.o and working just fine without a blip.
I called Samsung and created a repair case. I decided to endure the repair cost than to buy a new one. I was too optimistic. Three days later Samsung called back saying that they are closing my case because ‘they don’t have repair technicians’ in my area!!! Just like that.. ‘It’s out of warranty, it’s in the area we don’t serve – so we are closing the case’, and it’s your problem now. I will never buy a Samsung refrigerator ever again.

The water dispenser always froze up unless I raised the temperature to an unsafe level. Very poor design. Approximately once every three months since this fridge was purchased I have had to take it apart and manually de-ice everything.
I reported the issue to Samsung and was set up with a date a service provider was supposed to show up. Samsung refrigerator RF28HFEDBSR/AA. Purchased this unit in November 2015 new at Home Depot. Had about 1 year until issues started. The 1st issue: The refrigerator wasn’t keeping an accurate temperature inside and was leaking water all inside the bins. The inside back panel of the refrigerator froze up with ice, rendering the fans that circulate the air useless since they froze up. Had repair company come and order entire new back panel “twin cooling” section. Said this was a common problem due to the poor condensation section in the rear panel section. It would freeze up not allowing the water to drain. The refrigerator work for a couple more months and then developed a second problem.
Problem number 2: The refrigerator could not keep a constant temperature like before. Same repair company came out, they spoke with Samsung and they then had to replace the rear logic board in the rear. This worked for a few more months and yet again a 3rd problem. It wasn’t holding a accurate temperature yet again. Same repair company came out a 3rd time and Samsung told him to replace the rear panel again. Also this time the ice maker wasn’t working correctly either. Freezing up the components inside the ice maker section. These parts also had to be ordered along with the rear panel again. Thank the Lord I had the Extended Service Plan with Home Depot which has yet to replace my unit, only fixing it time after time. Asurion also likes to play games and try and send service centers who are not Samsung Certified Technicians which causes more delay. Have to fight with them as well to send the correct people out.
Samsung simply make poor appliance in all. As a side note I also had a Samsung washer that had to be replaced since it was one that was recalled due to exploding during spin cycles. From what I can gather, most companies like Samsung do not build anything these days with quality in mind. Samsung charges the extended service center a lot of money for these parts to be replaced over and over again failing to actually replace the unit. That seems to be their game these days. Would NEVER buy another Samsung appliance ever again and would tell everyone to stay away from them.

Called warranty dept. They sent out tech and he thawed out the underneath of the icemaker. Stated there was no replacement at the time. We could deal with it and hoped it fixed it. We received a check for $1400 from Samsung this year, called and asked why not a full refund, were told the techs that had been sent the 4 trips to "REPAIR" totaled the balance of the total cost of $2500 we originally paid for the refrigerator. The repairman also fixed the wheels on the pull out drawer because they kept falling off. The drawer has never worked correctly. The dust and shavings are getting on items in our refrigerator. Ingestion of this plastic is obviously toxic. In addition, we have two cracked door bins.
I called Samsung today. After being told the drawer and bins are not covered, I asked for a supervisor. The associate came back on the phone and stated the supervisor also said it is not covered. We just saw another couple in Lowe's buying a new one also who had the same problems and the same model. I would suggest Samsung stick with TVs.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2013 RS265TDRS. Immediately the ice maker had issues, and I have to continue to defrost the ice maker monthly and the dispenser gets clogged. It was embedded in the door, now I see they have abandoned that approach. My bigger issue is that this year the refrigerator stopped working and wouldn't cool. The temperature gauge showed 38 degrees but it was warm and all food spoiled.
Had to pay a repairman to come out and tell us this is a common problem with Samsung refrigerators and they need to be defrosted constantly, especially in humid areas and not to use the energy saving setting. He basically indicated the auto defrost is no longer working and it would be cheaper to buy a new fridge than to fix this one. Even though Samsung shows 10 year warranty on the compressor, what good is that if you can't use the fridge after only 6 years and after talking to Samsung they only cover their product for 1 year. Lowe's had a 3 year extended warranty. Repairman said he has better experiences with other brands.

In 2012 my wife and I bought matching Samsung appliances for our kitchen and they were considered "top of the line". Within 6 months our ice maker began freezing up, then within a year quit working altogether. Samsung couldn't find anyone in the area to fix it and said they would contact us when they did. Never heard back. Within 18 months it started making horrible noises. Found out frost was building up in the back and we would have to defrost, otherwise the fan would burn out. So every six months we did defrosting of our frost free fridge. Now 6 years in it has died and the repair shops said it wasn't worth fixing. My dishwasher died within 3 years, the microwave about the same time and the stove went out twice before I replaced it a year ago. Take the advice. Do not buy Samsung kitchen appliances.

Approximately 14 months after purchasing a Samsung french door refrigerator (Model #RF28HMEDBSR) the ice maker froze up and stopped working. It had to be manually defrosted (frost and ice removed). This issue occurred every 2 to 3 weeks. We trusted Samsung and did not purchase an extended warranty. A call to the service center revealed that any cost for service provided would have to be paid for by myself. A research of this equipment failure revealed hundreds, if not thousands, of similar complaints and unresolved issues. I continued to manually defrost the ice maker but the issue remained. We are now making ice cubes in ice cube trays.

2 1/2 years ago, built a new home and purchased $6,000+ in Samsung appliances from Lowe's. From the beginning had problems with the refrigerator top ice maker. Several service calls under warranty, now same recurring problem and getting a lot of lip and little to no service. Lowe's lady we purchased from continues to try and help with little to no help from others. Repair guy due Monday and most likely will be a no show. Everyone has got their money and no one trying to help other than the Lowe's sales lady. She has been attacked by the warranty people and I know this for a fact. If we do not get satisfaction I will be dumping this in my attorney's lab. I am 82 years old and too old to worry with sorry companies and service.

Recently we smelled smoke in our house, traced to refrigerator. When pulled out, a square scorched mark was left on floor and refrigerator was not operating. After several calls to Samsung, spoke to friendly women whose only response was, "Your refrigerator is out of warranty, I can send a service person at your cost." If we were not home at the time, our home could have burned down, and their response is, "We're sorry but you are out of warranty." When asked if they would like to see photos of scorched floor, her response was "You can send them if you like". Very disappointed since we have all Samsung kitchen appliances and TV.

We bought our Samsung fridge in Dec 2014. In June 2018 we called Samsung 6 times because our ice maker stopped working. Nobody would call us to schedule an appt to come and fix it. We had to have it repaired for by ourselves (was told no one will work on warranty repairs on Samsung because they take too long to get their money from them). Now a year later the refrigerator side of the unit is completely out and not working, and we are going through the same thing all over again, no call backs from Samsung’s warranty repair people in our area. I had to move all my chilled items to a cooler and to my old garage Whirlpool fridge that is over 12 yrs old and it still works great, even in the summer heat in FL in a garage. I will be buying a Whirlpool again this weekend. Never again Samsung! They need to stick to making cell phones because they suck at making appliances, and their customer service stinks and reputation sucks!

Purchased a French door black stainless refrigerator from Home Depot in 2016. Paid about $4000 for it. The ice maker never really worked well. It leaked constantly causing calcium buildup on the catch tray. Wasn’t too long after that it began to mold around the seal. Eventually it froze up and wouldn’t make ice. I called and it was 2 weeks after year warranty expires. They offered a one time extension. The ice maker was replaced then not even 6 months later I’m having the same issue. I called to complain and was treated poorly. Told they already gave me an extension and asked how long did we expect them to be responsible for my refrigerator, 20 yrs? With sarcasm. Should have bought the LG. Will never buy ANY Samsung products again!

Stay far away from purchasing a Samsung Refrigerator... unless you enjoy noises. This machine is the most annoying noisemaker ever. It's not the ice maker - I turned this off. It's not due to my having the coolest of settings - I have them set at the top/least cool allowed. I've moved it away from the wall and everywhere in between. There are several variations of noise including a constant buzzing which revs up to a higher level where you feel it's got to end with some satisfying explosion of sorts. Nope, never happens.
The top noise -- the one that really got my attention, literally woke me up and made me jump out of bed is the randomly loud poppity-pop shotgun noise. By random, I mean out of nowhere; for no rhyme or reason. I read others complaints wondering if there's a fix for this and, after some digging I discovered that it's a defect which Samsung is trying to hide so good luck finding someone to help. I will never purchase a Samsung product again.

We purchased our Samsung Fridge in 2013 for $2,700. It was considered to be top of the line product. 2 year we had it the trays in the fridge started cracking. Very cheaply made. Shortly after that our ice maker started freezing up and ice would not come out. We called the repair man, he came out and defrosted it and replaced some parts. Within a month it was frozen over again. The more we talked to the repair man we started to understand this was a very common issue and the fridge would of been recalled if it was from another company. SO THERE IS NO FIX FOR OUR FRIDGE. So out of frustration I contacted Samsung and they kept pushing me off and telling me it was out of warranty. SO THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT! VERY INTERESTED IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

When I purchased my Samsung refrigerator, at the time was the number 1 rated refrigerator of its type. From early on, I had started having troubles with the lower ice maker plastic parts breaking off. The service tech said that this was a common problem. Later we started having issues with the upper unit not cooling. Again I had a service tech come out only to tell me that the Twin Cool Plus system is another common problem. I was told to empty my refrigerator and turn it off for 24-48 hours to allow the unit to defrost. Or I could use a blow dryer and try to speed up the process. Is this what it has come to?? I called on several occasions to discuss what they would do to solve the Twin Cool Plus problem, and all they wanted to do is to send another service tech at my expense to look at the refrigerator. Nothing ever gets resolved, nor do they seem to care.

We purchased our Samsung Refrigerator Model RF23HCED on April 14, 2014. First problem was that the ice maker "room" kept getting a lot of frost on it ceiling. My husband would periodically check and "service" it by steaming off the frost (as recommended in the Samsung Service Bulletin. Then on Oct 2017 the fan, behind the refrigerator wall began to make a lot of noise. Luckily we had purchased a 5 year extended warranty from Home Depot (strange that one was not offered to us by Samsung). The repairman sent by Asurion arrived, 10 days later, and removed the back wall and stated that the problem was Samsung' "poor design. Samsung had placed the "SENSOR" in the wrong place. He said that he would "fix" the problem and he did, it lasted for a year and a half.
Fast forward to June 2019 and the fan starts making the same noise and the refrigerator temp starts rising. So my husband takes the refrigerator apart and defrosts both the ice maker "room" and the coil and fan behind the back wall of the fridge. BINGO it works (we'll see for how long). The Samsung "Service Bulletin" states that when these refrigerators have this happen there are many steps to be done AND the Ice Makers are to be REPLACED! So I contact Samsung and all I get is "we'll arrange for a serviceman to come out.
We are not paying Samsung one more penny to correct their errors. Simply send us the ice maker and my husband will do the replacement. But all they do is read a script..."warranty expired"..."repairman will be sent." When in fact they knew, well before our warranties expired, that the ice makers needed to be replaced, as well as the sensors re-located. They did not issue a recall, but waited for our warranties to expire so that they could make us, the consumers, pay for their error(s).
So a poor design by Samsung does not hurt them - just us consumers, Samsung gets to charge us for sending out repairman on each and every poorly designed refrigerator, we pay for the labor and the parts - AND - we are supposed to suddenly trust them and believe that they have our best interests at heart while they rake in more money from us. Samsung should stick to TV's and phones (the non-exploding type of course). STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!

UPDATE July 11, 2019 Add me to the long list of folks with NO SOLUTION for freezer not cooling. I actually purchased this model on Jun 14, 2014. Freezer started to fail on July 1, 2019, literally two days after my Lowe's 5 year extended warrantee expired on June 29th! Had a Samsung Certified tech come out on July 5th and tell me the problem was the compressor which was working overtime and pulling excessive amp's. I took that initial diagnosis and called Samsung Customer Service. They said warrantee expired; I said NOT for the compressor which has 10 years for the part. They were to come out on July 11th to again confirm diagnosis with their own warrantee tech. But, by July 10, 2019, the freezer was at 61 degrees F and the refrigerator was at 34 degrees F. I instead called my original tech and told him that the compressor was no longer working hard to cool the refrigerator and not working at all to cool the freezer. He said that it is likely that the Freon in the coils to the freezer were clogged. And the reason the fridge was still cold is that the separate coil line to the fridge was not clogged. He said it is not likely to be fixed. Would require removing the entire coil line in the freezer section for replacement. You see there is a valve the switches between the freezer and refrigerator coils and sends Freon flowing alternating between the two. Now that the entire freezer line is clogged the switch seems to be selected only for the refrigerator. Only solution is to buy another refrigerator. I canceled the Samsung Service call with this new diagnosis. BTW, I lost about $100 in food, but was smart enough to purchase a small 5 cubic ft. freezer to save the rest. That will hold me over until a brand new fridge is delivered. I’d like to say I’m not going to buy a Samsung, but if you search on “freezer not cooling” you’ll find that all brands may have this problem….and most with NO SOLUTION.
July 3, 2019 post. Bought the Samsung model RF323TEDBSR refrigerator with French doors and bottom freezer drawer in June 2017. Freezer drawer is now failing evidenced by top layer of food thawed. Set the temp to -8 degrees F and no change. I've called for repair at my expense because Lowe’s Service Advantage expired only two weeks ago (guess I should have renewed for $600). I now hope not to become one of the hundreds of reviewers here that could not get the freezer repaired even after replacing compressor, computer panel, and sensors. If the coils have failed, then I'm toast. Won't know until $90 diagnosis this Friday. Before the repair person shows I plan to pull the back panel, remove power for few minutes, clean the coils and sensor area to see if that fixes the problem. But, I doubt it based on previous posts here.

It will cost me $200-$300 for the repair and replacement of the unit as what I have been informed by their customer service. I was even told that I should have taken the extended warranty ;-(.... June 2019, the unit completely shutdown as both fridge and freezer were not cooling off anymore. Just 6 years and there goes my hard earned money down the drain. Not only are the parts cheaply made but almost a $1000 in warranty calls with Lowe's has been spent on trying to fix the ice maker. It is a vicious cycle. The entire thing freezes over, we have to defrost it then wait for the entire unit to reset. When we DO have ice, the ice doesn't Staub cold, water leaks all over the inside and outside of the fridge and into the floor. We are so sick of this issue. We have only had the unit for 2 years and we're STUCK with it!
