This is a Japanese product that is beautiful in looks and style. However, if you need any service, the vendors are few and far between. If a handle loses a screw, they will tell you the whole door needs to be replaced which will cost hundreds of dollars. When you call the Samsung customer service, they will refer the same Japanese repair company and promise to call you back with another repair company (which they never do) when you tell them that company is an unethical company. Also the ice maker freezes up & stops working a lot.

Where do I start? We purchased this refrigerator (4 Door Model RF23J9011SR) at the end of Dec. 2016. Within 7 months we had problems with the ice maker inside the refrigerator. No ice would dispense, all frozen up inside. Samsung replaced all of the ice maker parts except the cube box. Well it worked long enough to get past its warranty, then it failed again. The second time I could not even pull the ice maker drawer out. As it turns out the parts they replace were the old style original ones that were defective. He replaced all of the parts with the new Samsung updated parts, at a cost of 328 dollars to me. I paid then called Samsung. After almost an hour on the phone they agreed to give me a one time warranty extension.
While the second tech was here I told him that the refrigerator seemed warm, and the thermometer I had in it said 48 degrees... Clearly not 34 like stated on the door display. He tried to tell me that my new refrigerator thermometer was not accurate (brand new, only days old) and that I had a tear in the door seal. I would call it a small slice. He said it wasn’t cooling because the tear (less than 3/8 of an inch) was letting warm air in. It needed a new door seal, Ok. I said, "Replace it." Then he said he had to order it and come out in a couple days. Came out, put the new seal on the refrigerator, still was at 48-50 degrees. It wasn’t the problem. Called again for service. Tech came out, spent almost two hours here trying to figure out why the top refrigerator wasnt getting cold. Turned out the compressor and all of the Freon lines are bad, they all needed replacing. He informed me it was a 3 hour job and that another tech would be out in 2 days.
I still have no upper refrigerator. The whole process has reached week three. I called Samsung and demanded a new refrigerator replacement...they said no (no surprise) and that I had to have the tech do the compressor and Freon line repairs. Because the parts had been ordered, the guy just left 10 mins. ago. Keep in mind that my refrigerator isn’t even two years old... Wow I sure am excited about its future and what I can expect. In closing...DONT EVER BUY ANY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!! It’s like an Edsel. It looked good but wasn’t all that great of a car. What you read online is true, they are JUNK!!! Samsung customer service is a joke all yes and good and feel real sorry for you. They have heard it all before and could really care less once the great one warranty has expired. One year warranty on a almost 3,000 dollar counter depth refrigerator. SHAME ON YOU SAMSUNG!

I bought all Samsung appl. when we built but I'm having second thoughts... the refrigerator (side by side with water ice on outside) is not all worth the $$. The size gets cramped inside without a lot of shelving room and the outside ice dispenser always clogs and you stand there for minutes until the big globs of crushed ice falls out because if you don't get it out when you open the fridge door it all falls on the floor. We use the full cube but when clogged it crushes inside. The lower freezer is great... very roomy and stores more than avg. I would explore other brands.

I bought a Samsung because of their reputation but I regret it now. It’s rusty. The ice machine has to be cleaned twice a month or ice gets stuck then you have water on your floor in the am. Size inside is limited as well. Rethink buying this brand.

After only a year no major problems. But I have yet to figure out how to open the upper ice maker. The instructions are kind of generic and don't seem to apply to my specific model. I tried to get in to the upper ice maker as there appeared to be a jam and the crushed ice function wasn't working even though I could still get cubes. Couldn't figure it out! The problem seems to have resolved itself for now.

Overall this Samsung Refrigerator isn't too bad. There could be an improvement in the shelving though. You have to maneuver your items under the shelves due to the metal bars underneath. It makes it frustrating to fit your items into the back. Also the ice machine needs some improvement as well. Sometimes it freezes up and won't make any ice cubes.

Maybe you should ask about repairs and durability. The piece holding the vegetable drawers in place broke and the whole unit had to be replaced. Then the door handle came off. Even though we had a maintenance agreement, we had To pay for everything. For example, the freezer door handle was considered cosmetic. By the time we got through fixing everything, it cost us about $500. You can tell Samsung for me that they are a company that no longer takes pride in their quality since it’s all about profit. Maybe they can start calling them Samsuck again. I am not making this up.

The problem is with the ice maker. It is terrible. We bought the refrigerator in February 2017. Ice maker did not produce much ice at all. Store picked it up and brought us a new one in March, 3 weeks after purchasing the other one. The ice maker is also terrible on this refrigerator. A repairperson will be looking at it in a couple of days. Would not purchase this refrigerator again.

I recently had problems with a 5 year old Samsung refrigerator. To my surprise, most repairman refuse to work on Samsung appliances. In fact the first three turned me down and the forth said unfortunately he works on them. After hearing all of them tell me about how bad they are and referred to them as money pits, I decided to cut my losses. I have never run across a product so berated by people in that industry. The sad thing is everyone still pushes them instead of standing up and refusing to sell.

Full disclosure, this is all on me. Now that I've seen how poor their service is, I'm looking at all these reviews, and thinking I should have done this prior to purchasing. But I digress, I bought $10k worth of their top of the line appliances in the new black stainless finish. Almost immediately, the ice maker is dripping water and quits making ice. Samsung sends a tech and first thing he says is that these units are garbage and that the $300 part that is broken after only a month will break every year, as long as I own it. Not exactly what I wanted to hear!
So after months of back and forth with the worst customer service dept I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with, Samsung says they will replace the fridge. They send it via freight with delivery guys who have no idea how to install. So they tear the ** out of the old one, beat up my house, and ultimately can't get the new one in. So they leave me with the old one that is now beat up scratched all to hell, and not working. Samsung says 'no problem, we'll send another'! What!?! What about the brand new one you already sent on the truck? And the brand new one you just trashed?? They couldn't care less.
So I finally get Home Depot to replace the fridge, and then, while wiping the appliances down with a microfiber towel, a chunk of the finish comes off the range. So I call Samsung back and they tell me, "No prob, we'll send a tech to fix." They set an appointment for the next week and I wait. Appointment time comes and goes and no tech. I call back, they say, "We cancelled because you're out of warranty." "Wait, these are only a few months old!" "Oh, yeah, I guess you're right... Ok, we'll send a tech." Cancelled.
I get a supervisor on the line, and she says, "It keeps getting cancelled because it's cosmetic, and that's not covered under your warranty." "So the paint can just fall off and that's not covered!?!" So I get really pissed and she says, "OK, we'll send a tech, but if there is any sign that you caused the paint to chip, then you're paying for it." Fine, agreed. Get an email the next day, "Your service appointment has been cancelled." I am literally speechless...these appliances look great, but they are total garbage. But the company is worse. Save yourself a LOT of aggravation...avoid Samsung.

Purchased Samsung 3 door with ice maker in the door in August 2013. Made first call to Samsung within the 1st year. Had trouble with ice maker freezing up, dripping water, ice jammed before dropping into ice tray. Ice tray hard to remove. Had serviceman out in Sept. 2017. He replaced parts, turned the water pressure down. He did not fix the button that should give me cubed ice. I only get crushed ice. Paid this guy $160.50. When I messed up again, called him back. Would not return my calls. Called Samsung back, was told I would get a new ice maker. A different serviceman came. He did the same thing the first one did... No new ice maker. He did not repair the cubed ice issue. This was a free 1 time repair from Samsung.
Now the same thing is happening. The ice jams up in the tray... still no cubed ice. I know three other people who had this same problem two of which was still under warranty. They got a refund. the 3rd person was a builder who told Samsung if they didn't replace his, he would tell everyone he knows buying a new house to run from Samsung refrigerators, He get a refund. I am posting this on complaints on Consumer Affairs, calling the Consumer Protection Dept to report this sorry service. Also posting everything on FB.

I do not typically do product reviews but after seeing a rash of Samsung refrigerator ads on TV I felt compelled to respond. We needed a new refrigerator after our 15 year old GE started having problems. We found a nice looking french door style Samsung with a middle drawer for refrigerated items, freezer drawer at the bottom, water and ice dispenser, all the whistles and bells - in fact more whistles and bells than we had ever seen before. We have four Samsung TVs that all work great so we decided to give Samsung refrigerators a try - VERY BAD DECISION. The ice/water dispenser stopped working and none of our local repair people knew how to repair Samsung refrigeration products. Entering the model and serial number into the Samsung website in order to locate a Samsung repair person proved very difficult - not user friendly.
We finally got the ice maker repaired but ice cubes still get stuck coming out of the dispenser and we have to completely empty the freezer about every four month and chip out the ice buildup in the bottom of the freezer, otherwise it gets increasingly difficult to open and shut the freezer door. About every two months the handle literally comes loose from the freezer drawer and I have to find the correct size Allen wrench to reattach the handle. Finally, the bottom of the middle plastic drawer for refrigerated items cracked. I don't think we every loaded it with anything unduly heavy - it just appears to be very thin plastic and it cracked. My next refrigerator will not be a Samsung.

Had ice maker replaced (so called fixed) a motor is running loudly since & there's a chemical odor coming from refrigerator and the only way to stop that noise is to reset ice maker. Then will come on again with the odor, I poured a glass of iced tea and it tastes like the smell... a sweet burnt smell if this makes any sense. Buying a new one but won't be this brand. I had a Frigidaire refrigerator that lasted 20 years. My family said time for a new one so I went to and found a Samsung refrigerator double door with pullout freezer drawers purchased 12/1/15 warranty 1-year. I didn't get extended warranty within 2-months past warranty. Bottom freezer started making loud noises and went out. Of course you call to Philippines so I had them fix it 400.00. So now 14 months later it went out again. I called to see if there was recall or they would discount, nothing. I have to fix it so waited for 2-3 hours for technician. Turned out the Samsung had sent wrong part. So I call asking for a discount for my time, nothing. So stay away from SAMSUNG. Also don't buy appliances from Home Dept. When you drive away they wash their hands of any responsibility.

Samsung 3-Door Refrigerator Ice Maker - We purchased this in 2015. We’re disappointed in the icemaker from the beginning -- it did not make a lot of ice and ran out frequently. Then the icemaker started to freeze up periodically where we were unable to remove the ice storage box. Only by turning off the refrigerator were we able to defrost. On Monday, April 9, we called customer support for advice. I followed the instructions I was given and was assured that "there would be a bucket of ice" the next day. Wrong. The ice storage had completely defrosted. We noticed later in the day on Tuesday that the refrigerator was no longer cooling the frig or freezer areas. We called again on Tuesday and spoke with another representative who told us to do the same thing as the first. Nothing happened.
After 75 minutes with this person, we were advised that we would probably have to replace the ice-making system, not under guarantee. She assured us that during this time, they were having one of their service people identify a local service location to assist. Then we told her that the refrigerator and freezer at least were working before we followed their instructions and shouldn't they be responsible for damaged food and whatever needed to get the frig and freezer working. She said to make an itemized list of the fold that was spoiling, take a picture and show the price. Didn't say they would reimburse, nor did she suggest any responsibility on their part for the problems caused by following the directions on the tech support.
At this point, we asked for a supervisor. We were on hold for about an hour and finally hung up. We called again and were able to speak with a tech person who was able to at least get the frig and freezer working. The icemaker appears to be working now, but it will continue to back up and freeze, like it always does. This morning, another tech person called and asked if she could help resolve this over the phone. This was very disappointing, as I was expecting either a call from the local appliance repair place or perhaps the supervisor. This was unbelievable, and of course I was angry about how our problem was being handled. I mentioned that unless a supervisor was willing to call me back (I was no longer willing to wait for someone not to come on the phone), there was no longer a need for conversation. The tech support people were polite. But I will never, never again purchase any Samsung product.

We built a house in 2016. Went with the Samsung new black stainless steel appliances. We have had nothing but problems with the Refrigerator model# RF260BEAESR. The door clips keep breaking, you can’t get in and out of the freezer part and the MOST frustrating is the ICE MAKER! I have spent no less than 15 hrs trying to fix it. It was out of warranty two weeks and got nothing from Samsung. I am going to share something I have learned: Always ask how much the extended warranty is, if it’s almost half as much as the original cost of the thing you are purchasing STAY AWAY!!!
I figured this out after having bought 3 dishwashers and two refrigerators. Case in point current refrigerator (Samsung french door) warranty was $756.00 I paid $1,600.00 for it new and have had nothing but problems. Oven was $350 for warranty new it was $1,700. I bought a 22.5 cu ft French door counter-depth (RF23HCEDBSR) in 2015 from Sears. It was first used in November 2015. $3,200 on sale for $2,778. After a little more than a year, the ice maker began freezing (an oxymoron?), requiring that I remove the ice bucket for a few to several days at a time to let the inner works thaw out. This began happening with increasing frequency. Eventually, after 2.4 years I was without ice more often than I was with ice. The Sears repair tech said that the ice maker has a number of design flaws and that Samsung requires that the ice maker be replaced. Replacement cost is $780.
This is not a case of a mechanical part wearing out or going bad. This was Samsung's design flaw. A responsible company would take responsibility for the flawed product and replace it without charge. It was poor company decision making when the ice maker was designed and installed, and it is now equally poor company decision for not taking responsibility and replacing the defective product now that the defect has been discovered. I'll report the defect and Samsung's response to my State Attorney General's consumer protection division since Samsung doesn't seem to respond to individual consumers.

In mid-2015 I replaced my refrigerator with the Samsung French Door/Freezer at the bottom (Model #: RF261BEAEWW/AA-0001). Two weeks ago, we noticed the icemaker abruptly stopped working. Shortly thereafter, water accumulated under the refrigerator crisper and seeped from under the right side. Not really understanding what was going on, I just cleaned it every two to three days.
Now as of three days ago, I began hearing a humming/grinding noise coming from the upper rear center on the inside of the fridge. It sounded like the fan was hitting something as it's spinning. It only does it when the doors are closed and you can hear it winding down when you open the door. When you close the doors, it winds up to full speed again and the loud irritating sound returns. Now, since the icemaker stopped I turned it off yet the noise is still active. While doing an inspection, I found a build up of ice in the back of the fridge.
Turning to the internet for Diagnostics and DYI Repair advice, I have come across countless of sites with hundreds of complaints warning people Samsung will not recognize their horrible flaw(s) within their product. Samsung Service Centers have you open a ticket but then tell you they apparently can't fix the issue(s). Like many here, I don't have money to freely give a technician who will in turn place a Band-Aid on the problem; only for the refrigerator to disintegrate it and I succumb to the same issues month(s) later. They built the fridge and therefore they should have the ability to successfully repair it! Samsung should've just stuck with manufacturing electronics. I believed in their products until now. I, for one, will not be buying any of their major appliances anymore. Since they refuse to issue a recall notice on their clearly defected product I would like more information as to where and how to add my name to the lawsuit against them.

I paid for the top of the line Samsung refrigerator mostly 'cause I like the style of it and I tend to pay more for products based on what type of insurance the product is well built. I spent $5,000 for my Samsung refrigerator. May it be a cultural difference I really don't care. We're in America and we have high standards with our products. Our refrigerator ice maker gave us problems almost day one.
After 3 attempts to repair the ice maker I contacted Samsung and over a course of several months it was unbelievable to have to call the number that only answers the phone for 2 hours a day and if you're not first in line you will not have an answer to your ring. If you try to call back it goes to busy. Based on my persistence and anger I made sure I was first in line. Then they make me jump through hoops knowing they sent repair guys who have designated my refrigerator ice maker unrepairable. So getting the information they wanted not that I would have to actually call back. They had an email address I could send the information but would not reply to my email which forced me to have to call back to this line that is only open for a couple hours per day! All I got was, "Sorry sir that's just our policy!"
Again through my persistence I did get the check minus the shipping minus the time it took for all 3 repairs for me to take off of work minus the continued frustration and time aggravation to contact them over and over! On top of this it even gets worse. They wanted a picture of the power cord cut. This is to assure them I won't throw it in the garage and use it there! I am not writing for failed ice maker. I am writing for the arrogance of a company to have policies set against the consumer and America needs to know it!

I bought a new Samsung 33 in. W 17.5 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator at Home Depot and within the first year it started leaking. As it was still under warranty I called to have someone look at it. Unbeknownst to me, Samsung does not service my area, despite living only a few miles from the Home Depot where I bought it. Surprisingly, Samsung offered me a refund in lieu of service. While I would have preferred service on the fridge, I saw that this a common problem and there is a class action lawsuit against Samsung for this fridge. As well, I didn’t want a fridge with a defunct warranty. So, I accepted their offer for a refund and had them come pick up my fridge, buying a new one out of pocket to replace it.
Six weeks and 50 phone calls later I am yet to see any refund, only a trail of multiple ticket numbers and crossed wires. This process has truly been the most inefficient, contradicting, and burdensome experience I have had with a company in my thirty plus years. Each person has told me something different and no comprehensive steps have been given. At one point recently, I was told that I was going to get an exchange. Well, I already bought a new fridge to replace the one they took and who would want a fridge with all these issues, that can’t be warrantied, plus that’s not what I had been told the entire time.
So now I am out $1000 buying a replacement fridge and have no signs of being reimbursed. Many people are struggling with bills and for one of the largest corporations in the world to take advantage of their consumers in this way is truly sickening to me. I can’t imagine what a struggling family would do in this situation, having to spend hours on the phone, and hundreds of dollars out of pocket, not knowing if this corporation just completely screwed them over.
While I wait to see if I get a refund or if it’s theft, I can only advise other consumers to stay far away from any Samsung appliance purchase. I advise any retailers to reconsider selling their products, or at the least, warn your consumers that Samsung doesn’t service many major metropolitan areas – even if it’s right by the store it came from. Lastly, I would like to tell Samsung that you can do a lot better. I am sure you try to break a lot people through this process, hoping they will just give up, as most of us don’t have time during our day to call up a 1-800 number and explain to a new person what the situation is, every couple of days, for weeks on end. I am beyond disappointed with this process and I will never purchase nor recommend any of your products or services.

Every tech. so far has confirmed the same problem each time; icing up around the fan blade area causing terrible loud noises until the fan seizes up and stops; causing the fridge section to not cool anymore.
We have given up with the ice maker not working sometimes and just use bagged ice now. Like others seem to be facing; Samsung seems to refuse there could be an engineering problem with their product. We are planning on looking for a new (non Samsung) product after this 4th technician de-ices the fridge again. THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT THE COMPANY REFUSES TO ADDRESS. If my 6 year old model and your new refrigerator are experiencing the same problems, the company is at fault. Where is a class action lawsuit? I'm in.

Originally posted earlier this month. Followed Samsung's advice and defrosted refrigerator for 36 hours, with fan blowing on it. Checked to make sure all ice buildup had cleared. Turned on, ran fine, icemaker even working again. Now several days later, ice maker is stopping and probably means another complete defrost. Do not buy Samsung Refrigerators, IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT HOW PEOPLE ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM WITH ICING UP AND NOISE. They don't seem to have a fix. Terrible, 5 years old $2000+ refrigerator and nothing but problems.
Updated on 06/16/2018: I have contacted Samsung and searched the web. My 5 yr old refrigerator keeps freezing up and the fan starts making a loud noise. Only resolution Samsung has offered is to defrost the refrigerator. Really, it's a self defrosting, yet now we have to unload and let it thaw out 2-3 times a year. This problem with their refrigerators is noted by numerous people on the internet, yet Samsung offers no remedy and it appears this problem occurs with many of their refrigerators going back several years. This company is selling numerous refrigerators and should fix the problem or offer real solution.

I spent over $2500 for a new Samsung counter depth refrigerator in mid 2015 after I remodel my kitchen. It works fine for about 1 1/2 year. After 1 1/2 year, I started to have problems. A year ago the freezer will not go down to the temperature I set. Even I set it to minor 8 degree F, it only went down 15 degree F. I was advised by some website to reset the refrigerator by turning off the power overnight. I did and it worked again. Six months ago, no ice came out from the ice maker. I open the ice maker and found it completely frozen. I turned the power off and blow some warm air to melt the ice. After I removed the ice, it worked again.
A couple weeks ago, the freezer warmed up again. This time, I know "resetting" the refrigerator can only solve the problem for a few months so I called Samsung service center. A technical came, open the freezer and spent half an hours checking. He told me that defrost sensor went bad and the ice built up blocking the cold air from entering the freezer. Also the cover needed to be replaced. I ask him if the repair will take care of the ice maker frozen problem. He told me that it is a different problem and many people have the same problem due to design issue and Samsung offered to repair it free even warranty expired. I called Samsung but with no luck, Samsung refused to have it fixed. Repairing the ice maker will cost another $400.
The technician left and 2 days later, another technician came with the parts. He did some more checking and told me that the cover did not need to be replaced but the control board did not send power to the heater. Unfortunately, the previous technician did not check the control board so he need to order the control board and will come back later. He told me that I should purchase extended warranty. I went to online chat with Samsung's "Chat site" and was told that I can purchase extend warranty even the refrigerator warranty expired. The gentlemen even told me that the I should get some discount for the current repair if I elected to purchase extended warranty. He gave me the number to call.
I called Samsung extended warranty department and found out that extend warranty cost $550 a year and will be effective 30 days after all repairs were done and I needed to show them receipts of all repairs. There will be no discount to current repair either. I was surprised that extended warranty cost $550/year for a refrigerator. The conclusion was the refrigerator will experience problems very often, maybe an average of once a year because average repair cost will be 4 to 5 hundred dollar each time. This policy tells us to expect Samsung refrigerator to be repaired once a year.
This morning, I found out that the water dispenser at the refrigerator started leaking. Oh boy, another problem I have to deal with. I did a quick estimate. It will cost me about $1450 to have everything repaired and spend $550 for a one year extended warranty. That is $2000. Should I buy a new one instead. My last refrigerator was a 20 years old GE. It is still in the garage working fine. The other one was a 35 years old Whirlpool. I gave it away when I purchased the Samsung. My GE and Whirlpool gave me a combined 55 years of trouble free service while the Samsung gave me 3 problems in 2 1/2 years.

We renovated our entire kitchen in Samsung appliances. Our $3,300.00 4-door flex refrigerator lasted 2.5 years and my wife and I have been fighting with customer service (CS), since November 2017, to get them to honor their warranty. CS initially sent an authorized service person who tried to fix it and recharged the refrigerant. He stated that if this didn't fix the issue, since it was a sealed system, it is un-repairable. It worked for approximately 2 months and the issue returned. This points to a slow leak in the sealed system which has a 5 yr part/labor warranty. Next time we called they claimed they couldn't issue another ticket because our serial number had a refund already issued against it, though the refund wasn't in our name or sent to us. We feel their error is not our problem and shouldn't delay our warranty service request. They wouldn't budge.
Since then we've heard nothing but excuses and "we'll call you in a week". Another CS rep claimed the vendor (Home Depot) must have shipped a unit that had been previously returned (laughable), Home Depot doesn't stock the appliances they're shipped straight from Samsung. We both actually heard these claims on our phone. Every time you call you have to re-explain the issue to them and I'm sure they keep a file on your case. Now they're asking me to remove the label from the appliance and send a picture to them (doesn't that invalidate the warranty?). This has been the most frustrating experience we've ever had. You'd think such a big company would want their name to stand out in a positive light.
WE ARE NEVER BUYING ANOTHER SAMSUNG APPLIANCE AGAIN. I'm contacting my state's Attorney General's office and the FTC about our issue. We may not be able to get financial relief but, if it is determined that what they're doing is illegal, they will spend money in legal fees and fines. There are state and federal consumer laws regarding warranties. I hope this word gets out so maybe they'll change their ways. Best to document all contacts with them to show how they treat you. Their service techs don't give paperwork so you gotta keep all emails, texts msg, phone records to present your case.

I purchased my Samsung Refrigerator only a year and a half ago and it started to make a loud noise. Had it serviced and the service professional advised it was a build up of ice in the mechanisms causing the fan to not spin properly. He advised this was a fault of the POOR DESIGN and that it would continue to have this issue! I have been online looking for solutions to this issue that would be less costly than engaging a repair man each time and found hundreds of videos by Samsung refrigerator owners who are experiencing the same issue. Tell me why a company would continue to build a product and sell it to the public KNOWING it has a critical fault. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT. I had a terrible experience with Samsung. I ordered a Samsung Fridge and within a year and a half the compressor went out. Samsung at first wanted to fix the compressor, but since there were no techs near where I live, they decided to refund our money. It took an agonizing 2 months of trying to get them to give us our money. One customer service rep laughed at me when I asked what would happen if it took longer to get our refund before our new fridge and she laughed and said, “Mam, it’s not going to take that long.” That was only 1 week into the process. One representative gave me a fake # when I asked to talk to someone higher up. They even made me cut the cord of the fridge and take a picture of it and send it to them.
I was without a fridge for 2 months and still no refund. They would tell me someone would be calling and no one would ever call. I called at least twice a week if not more and they would just give me the runaround. But would always say not to get rid of the fridge until we get the refund. We no longer could go any longer without a fridge so we went ahead and ordered a new one - Whirlpool this time. I got my delivery date, so I called Samsung to let them know that our new fridge was coming and they would be taking away our Samsung fridge so I needed to make sure that they had everything they needed before it went.
Samsung told me NOT to get rid of it until I got the refund. I asked when will I get my refund? Every week, they would say, within 2-3 days and every week would pass and NO REFUND. Our new fridge came and I immediately called Samsung to see if I could send it with the delivery guy because he would take it away for free. They said no. So now we are stuck with our old fridge with nowhere to take it unless we pay $200 to dump it. Samsung did not care, they said it was not their responsibility. I will NEVER buy anything Samsung again! They have the worst customer service and products.

Since then, the ice maker has quit and now the front of the unit is rusting and looks terrible. See the best effort photo. I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator 3 years ago. Stainless steel, French door, party drawer, freezer drawer on the bottom. All of the bells and whistles. Last week, it stopped working. My repairman replaced the compressor, but that did not fix the problem. On their second visit, it appears that Samsung used steel tubing in building this product. Other companies use copper tubing. Why is this important? Because - according to my expert repairman - the condensation that builds up in the refrigerator will rust and corrode the steel tubes, but copper doesn't have that issue. As a result, I have a paperweight the size of a Samsung refrigerator. Unless the company stands by their mistake (in order to increase their profit margin) I will not be buying any Samsung appliances, and will tell all of my friends the same.

We purchased a Samsung refrigerator (French door/stainless steel type) because we had a small space to put one in so it had to be a certain dimension. I will NEVER buy anymore Samsung products again! Less than one year after we bought it I started to notice that ice was building up on the ice maker so it had to be defrosted every month or so. Next the ice maker fan stopped working and you can't buy just the small plastic fan...no. You have to buy the whole unit at $150.00. Thanks for forcing your customers to spend way more money than you have to!
After having the fan unit replaced we noticed that the ice was building up even more and preventing the arm from moving the ice into the ice bin. After calling the repairman, we found out that the ice maker is now broken and it will not make or dispense ice. He also called Samsung for a replacement part and found out that the icemakers are on backorder so it will be a couple of months before we get one because the amount of people waiting for one is rather large. Evidently we are NOT the only people with this problem. We are now looking at spending another $250.00 for a new icemaker.
All of the Samsung products I have purchased (washer and TV) have turned out to be crap. The washer had a recall because of the motor causing the lid to blow off of the washer so we got a crappy 150.00 to go buy another new washer that was NOT a Samsung! The TV the screen went out so we bought another TV that also was NOT a Samsung. Loved the refrigerator for the first few months. Then the ice maker started freezing up and we would have to use a hairdryer to defrost it. Then we noticed when you put ice in a cup it would drop water in it. So much you would have to dump it before putting anything in it. Within 2 years the ice maker was dripping water in one of the doors and would freeze in the bottom of the ice tray causing it to freeze up. We finally just pulled the tray out and turned the water off to it. Now we buy a bag of ice and keep it in the bottom freezer. Owned a RF28HFEDTSR Samsung French Door for about 2 years and suddenly the fan in the back of the fridge started making a horrid noise as if it was broken. Opened the back panel to find that the awful design allows for ice to build up back there and clogs the fan and element. I thawed it with a hairdryer, and it was fine again. This repeats every 2 months for about a year. Fan wakes up us in the middle of the night (yeah, that loud). Take out all the food, remove all the shelves, unscrew the frozen-solid screws on the back panel, break the cheaply-made Styrofoam case, sit holding a hairdryer for 45 minutes in the middle of the night. Rinse and repeat. Absolutely maddening. Repair guys can't do anything to remedy this. Then the top icemaker started frosting over constantly and had to have a similar treatment every month or so. After a year of this nonsense, the fridge just stopped cooling altogether. Threw it on the tip.

I not only don't recommend this product, but I also would suggest that you avoid Samsung products altogether. We purchased a dryer with matching washer and have had multiple problems with them. After six technician visits we still don't have a fully working washer or dryer and to make things worse they have told us we need to pay if we want another technician visit. I sent the following email to Samsung's supposed executive customer relations department as well as directly to the Samsung US CEO, it was completely ignored by them.
Up until just recently I have been a huge fan of Samsung products. I have owned or currently own monitors, mobile phones, washers, dryers, and TVs. I have been a loyal customer but my most recent purchase has me awestruck. About four months ago we purchased a SmartCare VRT laundry set. The day after it was installed we woke to find our home with a strong smell of gas. I determined it was coming from the laundry room and suspected the laundry appliance installation was at fault. We called Samsung for service and a technician was sent out. The technician investigated the gas leak and informed me that the gas lines to our new home were leaking and not one of the Samsung appliances.
I called the gas company and when they arrived they found that there was a gas leak, but it wasn’t in the house lines. It was coming from the dryer. We called Samsung a second time. When the technician performed the second appointment he acknowledged that the dryer was leaking and scheduled another appointment to replace the faulty part. Three visits from the Samsung technician and finally we get a working dryer after two weeks. A few months later my wife started complaining about the washer stopping and throwing an error in the middle of hot water loads. After it happened a few times I told her to call Samsung for repair. The technician came out and spent about thirty minutes with the washer. He eventually called me in and told me that it has hot water and that there wasn’t much he could do.
I informed the technician that when my wife pointed out the issue I recalled an error message “4C” being displayed when the wash would stop functioning and constantly beep with the error message. After basically living with a washer that won’t use hot water cycles for a couple of weeks my wife noticed that the dryer wasn’t drying clothes normally. We called Samsung again and informed them that our washer was still malfunctioning and now the dryer was not working well either. This time before the appointment I spent a couple of hours recording video on my phone of the 4C error and erratic behavior of the washer. The next day the technician arrived and spent about fifteen minutes with the dryer.
The technician informed me that we shouldn’t use specific features (smart features like auto dry) on our dryer and that we should use timed dry. I was told that although the dryer had some warmth that there is heat so the dryer is working fine but at no time did the technician check the temperature with, how does he know if it’s getting up to proper temperature? Yeah, the dryer gets warm but not hot, in fact not even close to hot. When I mentioned the washer and show the technician the video of the malfunction, I was told it wasn’t on the work order and even though we called for service for it and had video of the malfunction that it could not be looked at because it wasn’t on the service order.
Tonight, I followed the technician’s instructions and used the time dry to dry a handful of clothes. After one hour the clothes on high heat with eco dry turned off the clothes were still quite wet. The dryer clearly doesn’t work as it did a month ago. The technician also recommended cleaning our ducts but seriously it’s a six-month-old home and my wife does maybe three loads a week for two people, so the equipment is hardly being overworked much less should I have a duct problem. I also noticed that my wife is very good about cleaning the dryer lint catcher. She does it every load from what I see.
I hate to ramble on but as you can see this has been nothing less than an adventure and a complete waste of my time not to mention the time off from work involved in six technician visits that didn’t result in our appliances being fixed. I recently posted all this information to the Samsung Facebook page and it was completely ignored for a week which is simply insulting at this point.

So we purchased this refrigerator on May 29, 2017. We were so excited about this since we had done a lot of homework and research and this seemed like it would fit our needs. After delivering the refrigerator we noticed that the ice maker was noisy but what the heck, this wasn't a deal breaker. Then the fun really began. On October 12, less than 4-1/2 months later the ice maker went out. They came out promptly and replaced the ice maker with a new one and everything was fine UNTIL February 22, 2018 (again around 4 months later) the ice maker quit working again... So another technician came out and told us that the refrigerator needed to be exchanged. He gave us an exchange number and told us someone would call us within 24-48 hours. (I have learned to HATE that comment). We waited and no one called so I called the company service department and they asked me for some numbers off of the purchase ticket.
They told me that they were waiting on this information in order to expedite the exchange. My response was "why didn't you call". Anyway, I gave them the information they were looking for (we had purchased the refrigerator at Sears). Samsung informed me that they would call me back within 24-48 hours. Guess what. They didn't. So, I called them again and asked what the problem was now. They informed me that they were waiting on more information and that as soon as they had it they would start processing the claim. This has been going on for almost a month now. Thursday 3/8/18 I turned it over to my husband and he contacted the NJ office and was told that we COULDN'T get a exchange but we could get a refund, minus the sales tax and that they would respond in (wait for it) 24-48 hours.
We never received a call so I called them back today on 3/13 and was informed that they had it in the file and I explained to the first person that I didn't want a refund, less the sales tax because I couldn't replace the refrigerator with that. She informed me that she was sorry, seriously, who cares. But I told her that we needed an exchange and I wanted to speak to her supervisor. She came back on the line and told me that she could give me the refund PLUS the sales tax and I informed her that I could not replace the refrigerator for that. I asked to speak to HER supervisor. Let me say that it is almost impossible to speak to a supervisor of any kind. These people have a script and they do not deviate from it. I was finally able to speak to "supposedly" a manager who simply stated the same thing "she was sorry but they couldn't do an exchange but she could get me back my sales tax plus the purchase price".
I told her that I didn't want my money back because I could not replace the refrigerator and it wasn't my fault that it was a "LEMON". She again went through the Samsung Party Line and I told her that I wanted to talk to her supervisor. She told me that she was it and I explained that I then wanted to speak to the person that SHE has to answer to. Guess what... She told me that no one could do anything better than this BUT if I wanted she would have someone return my call "wait for it" in the next 24 to 48 hours. Hmmm. What are the chances. Just some food for thought here.
I have never experienced such horrible Customer Service in my life. Very few of the people speak English and it is almost virtually impossible to understand them. They absolutely refuse to let you speak to anyone else and just continue on with "I'm sorry and I can help you with that", but they can not help me so why do they continue to do so. It is the most frustrating experience and it will literally make you crazy. I totally refuse to give up and if necessary I will contact the media outlets AND social media to get this resolved... This is absolute BS.

In less than 1 year, as of this writing, March 2018, it malfunctioned again, can't produce ice cubes and the whole unit is not cold enough to cool a pitcher of water. The mechanic from their authorized service center, checked it up and gave me an estimate amount of PHP5,000 to replace a leaked hose etc. I will now spend 6000 plus for a unit that I have used only for less than 4 years. REALLY... I have called Samsung who passes the buck. They asked me to send all my documentation, which I did, then tells me that I need to get someone out there to do a service order and for ME to pay for it.
Then they tell me that in Beaumont, Texas there is not anyone that services Samsung anymore and that I need to find someone... then said BYE. Really, everyone on here is having the same problem and Samsung is not doing anything about a faulty appliance. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product. In February 2018 (after 12 months - when the warranty expired), we heard random beeping noises in the afternoon and evenings with the freezer temperature panel fluctuating wildly from -8F to 2F. I had a bad feeling when two high-quality appliance repair companies both refused to diagnose or fix ANY Samsung refrigerators. The Sears Appliance Service Company said the freezer fan was broken and that the replacement part was $650 in addition to a service installation fee ($150). Several calls for service rep, with same repair results, defrost. The week the warranty expired, same issue. Called manufacturer. Asked if there was a recall on the refrigerator. They said no. Unbelievable, poor engineering, there should have been.
They offered a free repair service, with replacement of ice maker. Well completed job. Ice is a bit more solid, but ice maker still froze up within three months of replacement, sad. We own a beautiful top of the line 4-door Samsung refrigerator which we’ve had for one year. Our ice maker began making “wet, soft ice” and the ice maker poured water into a cup whenever we made ice... Plus, the ice maker leaked into the inside of our refrigerator. When we exercised our extended warranty, we learned that this model was recalled for a faulty ice maker! Yet, Samsung never had the courtesy to send out a recall letter. Now we need to wait several weeks for the part to arrive and were told that we need to empty the refrigerator and freezer two days prior to the repair and keep it off and empty for 2 days post repair to allow the epoxy to dry! How shameful that such an excessive amount of money is charged for a poor, inexcusable refrigerator. DON’T BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS!!!

I've had the refrigerator (RF260BEAESR French door) about 4 years and it works ok. I like the size and especially like the bottom freezer. My complaint is with the finish which is supposed to be stainless steel. I have cleaned it as instructed, taken good care of it. No kids or any influences which would damage the finish. No matter how well we cared for it - it still has spots and streaks and I can see where the "finish" is worn off so it is spotty and discolored in areas. It's a cheap finish, and if it was really stainless steel it wouldn't stain - but it does. Not happy about that! Samsung used to be a good products but not anymore. I have a Samsung front loader that I hate - clothes don't get clean - takes forever to run a cycle, have to do extra rinse and spin, etc.

We purchased a Samsung Black Stainless, 4 door flex zone fridge. After being ordered it arrived May 27, 2016 for a new home that was being built. It was installed July 4, 2016 which was when we moved in and started using it. By August 2017, the ice maker completely malfunctioned. We had frozen solid icebergs all around the ice maker, no ice in the ice cube tray. Looked up troubleshooting in the manual, cleared all the built up icebergs and it worked for about 2 days before it completely froze up again. After trying for a couple of weeks we called a repair person which cost $80 for him to come to look at and possibly repair ice maker. He indicated that the ice maker needed to be replaced.
In September we called Samsung support, they told us we had to call a Samsung approved repair person and provided us with a name of the company they approved and then I was told I be referring to the troubleshooting area in the manual in the future before contacting support (apparently if you feel you need support you shouldn’t call them). Anyway, called the approved repair company and they came out and said ice maker probably needed to be replaced but tried to seal the ice maker with weather stripping to see if it might have been warm air coming from the fridge that was causing the ice maker to malfunction. That didn’t work, again, within 2 days, everything was surrounded by frozen icebergs again so the repair people said they would contact Samsung to get parts to replace the defective ice maker.
They also indicated that Samsung had admitted there was a design flaw in their icemakers that was causing them to fail. This repair company came on Nov. 15, 2017. It took 3 months for the parts to come in after according the repair company said they ‘had a struggle with Samsung”. They arrived on Feb. 14 with the parts and repaired the ice maker and handed us a bill for $614.00!!!! The defective ice maker has now cost us a total of $850.00!!! We had no forewarning from the repair company that it was going to cost this much. They had told us in Nov. that it wouldn’t be more than $300 so we were completely blindsided. We never would have agreed to have the ice maker repaired if we had known we were going to be charged another $614.00.
I was very upset so contacted Samsung customer service. They asked for a copy of the receipt for the service, a copy of the receipt for the fridge, serial number, etc. I asked them to be reimbursed for the cost of the parts which was almost $500 of the $614 bill. Samsung responded back saying the fridge was past warranty and they would not reimburse me for anything. The fridge lasted 13 months, just long enough for Samsung to clear the warranty period and not have to take responsibility for their admittedly defective product. It appears it is reasonable to them that their fridges last for only a year before major malfunctions and repairs are required.
Samsung in my opinion provides inferior, knowingly defective products and does not stand behind their products. Their customer service is poor and I will never, ever buy anything Samsung again. I would also like to add that I told Samsung customer service that we had purchased the fridge, gas range, washer and dryer. So we had been a good customer, purchasing several of their higher end products. They couldn’t care less. I would tell anyone considering Samsung anything to run as fast as they can in the other direction, stay away from Samsung at all costs.
They are a company that supplies an inferior product, poor customer service and takes advantage of their customers by selling admittedly defective products, and then charging exorbitant prices for parts to repair them. Please warn people about how horrible this company is and to stay away from their products. We should not have had to pay $850.00 to repair a virtually brand new higher end refrigerator.

We bought a Samsung refrigerator about 1 year ago. 2 weeks before the one year warranty expired, we contacted them to let us know that 4 of our door shelves had cracked or completely broken. (This call was not made easy by Samsung). They agreed on the phone to send us 4 new door shelves. We received 2. We installed the shelves and in less than 2 months they too had broken. We called to discuss this issue and were told that our refrigerator was now out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. My research shows this is a very commonplace occurrence as plastic used to construct these shelves was defective. 1. Since I registered this problem before the expiration of our warranty I believe they need to honor an actual fix to the defective product.
2. A refrigerator is not a disposable appliance and should last well beyond a year. As a previously loyal Samsung customer I was truly shocked at how rude and unhelpful their customer service department was and that they do not stand behind their products. Will never again purchase a Samsung product based on this outcome and strongly recommend people towards beer beware.

This fridge constantly gave us problems and totally stopped working 4 times with total loss of frozen food and perishable items. When Samsung customer service was called they suggested pressing some buttons and tell them if we heard a whirring noise! We did that and it worked on 3 occasions! In December 2017 it happened again and when called they said it was out of Warranty and we should not call them again! We went to Lowe's to buy a new fridge and the appliance guy told us that the sealed unit including the compressor in our Samsung Fridge has a Five year warranty. On calling Samsung they now agreed that the sealed unit and compressor indeed had a warranty for 5 years and directed us to contact their service center Lakes Electronics, 2101 W. Atlantic Blvd #108, Pompano Beach, FL. 33069.
They sent their technician on 11/10/2017 who confirmed that the compressor is locked (Error 84E) and charged us $99.00 for his visit. He asked us for the original receipt which We could not provide as a lot of paperwork was damaged and lost in the Hurricane! We contacted the Manager at Lakes Electronics who confirmed that without the receipt they cannot repair though the compressor and sealed unit was still under a 5 year warranty as Samsung had not paid them for work done without a receipt in the past! We then contacted Samsung and after much cajoling We were given a one time parts and labor ticket valid for one week only. A repair was scheduled but as the compressor did not arrive on time, the ticket was cancelled. After the holidays We were asked to call Samsung again for a new ticket valid for 7 days and a repair was scheduled, but cancelled again as compressor had not arrived.
Finally, when the compressor had arrived a repair was performed in our home on 01/25/2018. We were made to sign a work completed sheet by the technician who said that you should start using it from next morning! Lo and Behold, come Morning and both the Freezer and the Refrigerator compartments showed a higher than room temperature!!! We contacted Lakes Electronics and were told that as We had signed the work completed sheet they cannot come back to check unless We get a new Ticket from Samsung. This time Samsung customer representative told us that our unit was not under warranty anymore. When asked to be directed to her Senior who reluctantly agreed to talk to us.
We requested that Samsung should do any one of the following: 1) Arrange for their service center to pick it up and do a complete and Satisfactory repair before returning it to us. 2) Give us a replacement for their defective item. 3) Arrange a refund. Neither of the above options were accepted but a New one week one time repair ticket was issued and the technician again came on 01/29/2017. He confirmed in his notes that both sides were not cooling and the compressor was making a loud noise. He asked for advice from Samsung tech department if a replacement should be done but this was summarily rejected and he was asked to change the Condenser and purge all the gas (?Freon) and flush it with Nitrogen. As he did not have either Nitrogen or a replacement condenser a new appointment was scheduled for 02/01/2018.
A Nitrogen flush was performed and We were shown that it was working to his satisfaction and that We ought to sign the work completed form again. We refused to sign and asked him to wait for 24 hours before signing the work completed form. After 2 days i.e today the fridge is dead again and all the frozen food including expensive Salmon Lox purchased over the weekend is rotting! WE HAVE INCURRED A LOSS OF AT LEAST $4000 IN DAMAGED AND LOST PERISHABLE ITEMS, long hours waiting for proper if never a prompt response! It was 2 weeks before someone could come look at it. Samsung used a company called MetroTech. I had to pay 90.00 for an assessment and wait another 2 weeks for a part. The problem was with the seal which was covered under warranty as a defect. 2 weeks turned into 3 and the part was installed but it did not fix the problem. So Metrotech advised Samsung to replace the unit which they refused until Metrotech put in another part. Another 2 weeks of waiting and Metrotech put in the part. Upon doing so the inside panel of the fridge was damaged. Plus this did not fix the problem. The 4th time Samsung sent Metrotech out, Metrotech advised Samsung to replace the unit. A unit Exchange process was put in.
When I called Samsung they told me they needed a certificate of ownership. I do not have this as it was still being paid for however, the account was in my deceased spouse's name financed through Synchrony bank. HH Greg went out of business. After 13 months (just after warranty expired) the icemaker began icing over. I called Samsung who would only send out a paid repair person. I learned how to de-ice it myself and have to do this every three months or so. I just discovered a fix on YouTube which resulted in $200 worth of parts. Now, three years later, there is a solid sheet of ice under the crisper drawer and a very loud fan noise coming from the fridge (RF263BEAESR/AA). Again using YouTube I discovered that ice builds up because of another poor design and I had to remove all the food, all the shelves, including the difficult to remove one above the crisper drawer, and then pry off a back panel and use a hair dryer to defrost it. Ice had built up and the fan was hitting the ice. This is due to a small metal piece that is attached to the heating element, the metal piece isn't long enough and allows the drain to freeze closed. This causes the ice build up.
This is an expensive appliance and I am already looking at having to replace it because it is not reliable and requires so much maintenance. My old fridge was a cheap GE that lasted 16 years without a single repair. Samsung knows about the design flaws, has even issued a technical bulletin about it. They refuse to issue a recall and correct their mistake, leaving so many homeowners frustrated. I will not buy another Samsung product as long as I live! They even suggested that it was a result of living near the ocean and salt, lots of that here in Ohio. They promise to call back, and you will never hear from them. Do not buy Samsung appliances. We constructed a new home and purchased a full set of appliances made by Samsung and have had major regret with the decision. We purchased extended warranty and have had to use the services on most of them. We have now had to change to a different manufacturer of dishwasher that the warranty has just ended. Now the fridge door needs to be replaced as the lower shelf mount has broken and the mount is part of the entire door which has all the electronics integrated. The shelf above that one is broken as well. We just called Samsung support to ask for support prior to filing a complaint and they offer none, only a toll free number for parts. As a result of our experience we will never purchase another Samsung product. Completely dissatisfied.

The first day I bought it, the handle fell off!! It was still under warranty, but they wanted to charge me $150.00 for a service repair. I purchased a (expensive) Samsung Fridge at Home Depot and after 1 month of having the fridge there are small rust spots all over the front of the fridge. When I called Samsung support they said it's a cosmetic issue and not covered under the warranty. They said it could be caused by prolonged exposure to moisture (I've had it for a month) or an abrasive cleaner was possibly used. The only cleaner that has been used was warm water and dish soap one time and a mixture of vinegar and water one time. Samsung refuses to stand by their product and Home Depot says the issue needs to be handled with Samsung.

It’s now January 2018 and I wrote a letter to the BBB, Montez called me 2 days later with Samsung Office Of The President and said they are still on back order and he cannot give me any kind of information on when they will be in stock.
Every Samsung appliance I’ve had I’ve had problems with and I have purchased 5yr extended warranties on all of them and they have made some of the repairs take as long as 4 years because they don’t know their products. I will never buy anything Samsung again, they are not made to last and they have terrible customer service along with terrible excuses of why they can’t repair or order parts that are needed to use their appliances. After numerous phone calls to the Samsung Customer Service Department, I realized that nearly each time I was talking to representatives in several different locations to include the Philippines, the Virgin Islands and South Carolina. Eventually after my persistence and threats, Samsung arranged for me to return the refrigerator to the store I purchased it from. This happened nearly two weeks after we purchased another brand.
Lastly, we were promised a maximum of $ 200.00 compensation for the nearly $ 600.00 of food that was spoiled. We were required to provide items and the price. He was late the first appointment. I had to call Samsung so they could find out if he was coming.
I asked him how to take the glass out to clean. He said he wouldn't because it would break. So I called Samsung again and said I can't ever clean my refrigerator. After a long wait and them trying to figure it out and talking to supervisor they said they would send me an email with pictures and instructions how to remove without breaking. They said the insurance would cover drawer but not glass. So waited for email and of course never got it. So after 3 holidays with no ice maker I will call Samsung again. Still can't clean all of it. I have owned my refrigerator for less than a month. When it was delivered I noticed a small dent in it which the store compensated me $70 for. A week or so later I saw a small chip on the same door. This is a black stainless steel refrigerator that retails for about $1800 (RF261BDAESG). I went to the store and they told me to contact Samsung. I spoke with Samsung and they said they would send a technician out and gave me the company name. I was contacted by that company and told that if they came out and decided it was physical damage I would have to pay for the service call, $200. Also said that if I wanted it fixed it would cost up to $400. I have no intention of paying for any repair for an appliance that's less than a month old.
First what's "physical damage"? If they mean that it was done by me how can that be determined? Who's to say it wasn't caused at the same time as the dent was made? Why would they sell a product that can seemingly be damaged so easily? I spent about 30 minutes on the phone after speaking with their service center trying to resolve this, as long as I don't pay. I'm pretty sure they would say it's my fault just to save Samsung money. My main concern is the lack of customer service from Samsung because I bought an entire kitchen suite. I purchased Samsung because I had always heard positive things about them but I can guarantee that I will do my best to dissuade anyone from purchasing any Samsung product.

This guy gave me his name, heard me out then told me he would discuss the situation with his people (can't remember the term he used) and would call me within a half hour. After an hour I called the number that he called from and asked for him. The agent that answered told me the other guy was still working on my case and would call me when he was done. Of course this never happened. I called the next day and this agent wouldn't connect me with him instead made me go through the whole story again and after 30 minutes of back and forth gave me another number to call and ask for the "Executive Customer Relations" dept.
Well, this was like trying to get through to the Pope. I had to go through the entire situation again, and again, and again and finally after several "Can I put you on hold for a minute" he transferred me to this dept. Of course all the lines were currently busy and I could either wait or I could hang up and be called back when I came up in cue, promise! Well I decided to hang up and wait for the call. BIG MISTAKE. Never received the call back. Surprised? Not at all! DO NOT PURCHASE A SAMSUNG PRODUCT unless you buy the protection plan for as long as it is offered!
Even the Geek Squad will not fix Samsung Products that are still in warranty! The reason why is because Samsung is not paying their service vendors! I was told this by a Geek Squad service man that recently repaired a different item in my home. When he said this it suddenly made sense that the guy that fixed my Samsung Oven that took a crap after two months, came all the way from Hastings to my home in the south metro! Apparently, there are too many appliance service businesses that are not getting paid for repairing Samsung products that are still under warranty! When we first were thinking about purchasing our appliance, I read all the negative comments online and I was quite anxious. I ended up figuring that these were just competitors trying to slam Samsung so we went ahead and placed all Samsung appliances in our remodeled kitchen. After two years we had trouble with our refrigerator not cooling in the refrigerator compartment. The freezer worked fine. I again went online to read of the horror stories about obtaining warranty service from Samsung and their contracted provider Home Network Services (HNS). I must first say I was disappointed that we began having this issue only after 2.5 years of use.
On 11-25-17, I contacted Samsung and they opened a ticket. A couple of days later they tried to call me but was unable to get in touch with me so the ticket was canceled. They sent me an email stating that I could open another ticket by calling their 800 number. I did so and a second ticket was opened. They referred me to HNS and I called, on Tuesday, after waiting a couple of days. They set up an appointment for me on Friday. The technician called ahead as they said he would. He diagnosed the issue and determined there was a leak in the sealed refrigeration system. He said he would return the following week to make the necessary repairs. He indicated that it required special tools that he didn't have on his truck.
We called the following week and was told they were waiting on a part. They said they would provide a few days noticed of their next trip. My wife had a few questions and called back. They confirmed it was a warranty repair and they expected the part on Thursday and would come out the next Tuesday. On 12-12-17, The technician called and provided 30 min notice of his arrival. He completed the repairs, replaced the dryer, and said that if it leaked again I would need to call Samsung as he had did all he could on the system. We are about one week out from the repairs and the appliance is still working.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised at the service we received. They arrived during the window promised, called when they were about 30 min out, made all their appointments as scheduled and from what I see have fixed our refrigerator. I know different people have different experiences and typically we only read "complaints" so I wanted to provide some positive feedback. At this point, though I am disappointed that our appliance failed after only 2.5 years in service, however, I am completely satisfied with the warranty service provided by Samsung and HNS. Obviously, if the system leaks/fails again and I have trouble getting a replacement or refund I will update my comments but at this point I'm satisfied.

The price was right but a previous experience with a Samsung fridge (since replaced with GE model) made me buy a 5 year extended warranty for this unit. Glad I did, but in the end the result will be the same. I eventually gave my first 2012 problem counter-depth fridge (RF19) away as I could not in good conscience sell it with THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THIS NEWER MODEL!!! A sheet of ice forms under both crisper drawers.
I know I'm an idiot for taking a chance on Samsung again. Why you may ask... Call me foolish, I wanted to believe they had 5 years to improved their obvious design flaws. Why wouldn't they with so many of these same complaints?? First time shame on Samsung, this time shame on me!! (And maybe Home Depot.) I'll call Asurion and start the "process of disappointment". I know what to tell the tech guy when he arrives. There will be no talk of ordering thermostats or other expensive parts or any of that nonsense.
Just like I learned on a YouTube video following the first incident. I'll instruct the tech to carefully remove the cover of the "twin cooling tower" they call it. Then detach the cable harness and swing it out of the way. I won't actually do the work 'cause that would void my extended warranty. I'll just help with the hair dryer to defrost the frozen water in the center of the drain tray at the bottom of the heater (defroster) elements. The tiny hole the water is supposed to be able to escape thru is no bigger than the diameter of an ink pen refill. The solution is take a scrap piece of copper wire, say 14 gauge and wrap it several times around the heater bar and send it down the center of the tiny hole. This wire then helps transfer the heat directly to that point that freezes up. Reassemble and good to go. At least it worked on that fridge for over 1 year, then the problem came back.
Like the guy on YouTube said, it works for while, then repeat as often as necessary. By this time I had learned a trick on how to keep the dripping water out of the food drawers and ruining my veggies (stand a sponge upright behind the drawers). That way all I had to do was check for the ice sheet under the drawers ever week or two, and chuck that ice in the sink. I was willing to put up with no loss of food as an improvement in my situation, resigning myself to the fact that I would not be replacing my home unit with any model of Samsung, even if it were FREE.
Samsung was no help at all with the first fridge problems. Reading these comments here, it would seem that that hasn't changed at all. So my lesson learned is similar to others here, I will NEVER EVER purchase ANY Samsung appliance in the future. Also, what I will do different this time is I will file a complaint with the BBB against Home Depot, I wish all the commenters here that say "class action this", or "the government should do that" would take a similar approach. I think this formal complaint action is one that may eventually lead to consumer protection laws being invoked against these thieves who refuse to stand behind their products.

We bought our French Door refrigerator less than 4 years ago, for $1,500 from Best Buy, and it has already broke down. We tried to find someone to come fix it and the cost would be more than buying a new fridge. So we bought a Whirlpool from Home Depot for $600 (no frills this time) and hopefully it will last longer. We will never buy a Samsung Appliance again, complete JUNK! They should stick to cell phones.

When you pay this much for a refrigerator you don't expect to come home after work to find no ice. Never ever again will I purchase Samsung or any Korean made products. I should've stuck with American made. Geek Squad has also had to come out twice but still the same problems. JUNK!

The Samsung 20-cubic-foot double "French" door, brushed aluminum fridge was my 3rd Samsung product (The 1st was a flat-panel, the 2nd was a smart-phone = Galaxy 5s). I will never buy another product from these people again - not a home appliance, not a TV, not a phone, not even an LED bulb (Yes, Samsung makes those, too).
I paid $1,600 for this so-called "smart" fridge (model RF 217) from the Sears Outlet in San Leandro, CA (won't deal with them again, either). Soon after purchase, the condenser coils of this high-design refrigerator began icing up - and the crisper drawers flooded with water, as did the bottom of the main fridge compartment. I called both Sears and Samsung. Zero help. Maximum run-around. After emptying and defrosting the fridge several times, I combed through troubleshooting threads and YouTube how-to videos about this specific model. I replaced the faulty heat-sink, a part that Samsung does not make - but apparently recommends.
It worked for a while, but now again the condenser coils are icing up again -- even worse. The base of the fridge's main compartment builds sheets of ice that I have to pull up with a butter knife. And the crisper drawers fill with an inch of water within a month of defrosting. NOTE: The heat-sink may be the subject of a class-action lawsuit against Samsung but it is not the only design flaw of this fridge. Soon after I bought the fridge, I noticed condensation along the vinyl seals on the inside perimeter of the "French" doors. Then the seals started to turn black with mildew. That's because the seals do not actually seal. They leak cold air from inside the fridge compartment - which not only wastes energy - but contaminates that weather-stripping, if you will, around your fridge doors with moisture and mildew.
This fridge has cost me multiples of its $1,600 purchase-price in terms of repairs, maintenance, inconvenience - and writing texts like this one :) This Samsung product has ruined kitchens, and made lives worse. We should sue this foreign manufacturer under every possible statute at both the state and federal level in the U.S. Shame on Samsung for designing a defective product, taking our money, and failing to honor their warranty or service contracts. Shame!

When redoing my kitchen, I wanted a counter depth refrigerator but only have a 30"+ opening. What I found is that Samsung is the only manufacturer offering this under $2000.00. Yes you can buy a Sub-Zero for $7k or a Liebherr for $4k but you also need over 70" in height which I do not have. I am not the only one in this situation. My sister recently faced the same problem, along with 3 other shoppers in the showroom... Right from the start there were problems; food and beverages freezing in the refrigerator, ice buildup and water in and under the crisper bins, water dripping on the floor, crushed ice chips rather than cubes. Repaired once with a new control they said was a design defect, but out of warranty so you are on your own.
Now the ice maker has stopped working entirely, the freezing water is back in the fridge and on the floor and the ice cream is melting in the freezer. My friend also has this unit in white. She has the paint peeling off the handles, the same freezing/dripping water problems and ice maker problems. Not everyone has a huge kitchen where they have many choices for counter depth machines. Why are manufacturers ignoring this market? I understand the small kitchen accounts for 30% of homes and apartments in the USA. I am waiting for the repairman once again today... This Samsung is a piece of garbage! Don't buy it. Wish I had the $ for the subzero... but then again Subzero would be a better investment if I have to buy this Samsung crap every few years...

We purchased our first French door Samsung refrigerator in 2011 not only because Samsung was a household name and I figured would make appliances that would outlast their warranty period but I also purchased the Samsung because aesthetically they stood out in comparison to other brands. Well I was completely WRONG about the quality and durability of Samsung appliances.
Our first refrigerator was still under warranty and had to be replaced in 2015 because they no longer made the parts needed to repair the 4 year old refrigerator. This four year old refrigerator would make a loud humming noise as a result of a faulty fan motor. We made a second poor decision to purchase another Samsung refrigerator thinking they would have improved upon the issues they had with their appliances, but again we were WRONG. The issues were worse, see list of faults below that started in 2016 one year after purchase:
1. Massive water leak behind the water dispenser that requires placing a large towel to catch the water to prevent potential slips and/or falls from the water from pooling on the floor. 2. The ice maker only makes a cup full of ice per day even when pressing the "Power freeze" button. 3. The refrigerator intermittently makes a loud humming noise.
See list of actions taken to address the issues our 1 year old refrigerator is having: 1. Defrosted the ice maker by keeping doors open and using a hair dryer in order to speed up the process. 2. Sealed the crack between housing of the ice maker and the refrigerator with waterproof silicone. 3. Purchase 2- 10 lb bags of ice from Buckeyes twice a week. 4. Keep refrigerator door open for extended periods of time in order to stop the humming noise (yes we had food in it at the time) and speed up the defrost process. Even after initiating our own interventions, we continue to have problems with our Samsung refrigerator making a loud intermittent humming noise, making ice, leaking large amounts of water behind the water dispenser.
The reason I'm taking the time out of my busy day to share with you these issues is because I'm disappointed in this product and to prevent you from making the poor decision of purchasing a Samsung refrigerator. It's not worth the money. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should spend thousands of dollars on anything that is proven not to last over 5 years. When I was growing up, my mother kept the same refrigerator from the time I was 10 years old until I graduated college. Of course repairs were required but as stated earlier, this is my second Samsung refrigerator in the span of 4 years.
Yes we have a warranty but this refrigerator began to have problems a year after purchase, my expectations of Samsung setting a higher standard when it comes to quality appliances has not been met. We have had to spend time troubleshooting issues on a refrigerator that can't go the 5 year distance and take time from work to have it repaired. BUY SMART BY NOT BUYING A SAMSUNG FRENCH DOOR STAINLESS STEEL REFRIGERATOR.

October 2016 I bought a 4 door Samsung stainless steel refrigerator (model #RF22K9381SR/AA) from Lowe’s. The panel on the door below the icemaker/water dispenser has terrible water stains that will not come off with any recommended product by Samsung. When I complained to Samsung they sent out a technician to see it. The technician said there was a possibility that it developed a leak behind the door panel and he took a picture and said Samsung will be reviewing it.
I then got a call from Samsung saying it's not their problem because they are not responsible for "cosmetic damage". Stainless is not suppose to stain with obvious water marks. I believe there is some defect with the refrigerator ice maker/water dispenser and/or that the "stainless steel" product they used is of inferior quality. I am very dissatisfied with my $3,0000 purchase of this refrigerator and am wondering if I can take Samsung to small claims court. I do not recommend purchasing Samsung refrigerators.

I have read all of these current complaints and issues with Samsung Refrigerators, I feel bad for all of these consumers. There is something you can do to get somewhat reimbursed. I can say I purchased the 3 year warranty and was glad. After 15 months the Refrigerator froze and stopped the cooling fan. Took 11 days to get parts to have it repaired. Then after the first repair a second incident occurred when the freezing happened under the meat department drawer a week after it was fixed. Had to have a tech come out a second time.
Finally they sent me a refund for the purchase price of the refrigerator. That was Asurion did, they were the warranty plan from the Home Depot. If you have a food loss issue you are eligible for up to $300 refund for each occurrence. This did happen twice. It froze and wasted my wife's Insulin 2 times. I was not reimbursed the full amount but I received 2 checks for $300 a piece after filling out the one page application for Food Loss and Medication reimbursement and sending in the repair receipt. Also I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against the Home Depot and Home Depot came through and sent me a $500 gift card for the difference for the loss of the medication and the cost of me buying another refrigerator while I was waiting on this one to be repaired.
I also filed a complaint with the BBB against Samsung and twice someone from the Office of the President from Samsung called me and said there was nothing that could be done. So whatever, they need a national recall on their products especially the black stainless refrigerators. So with a little perseverance you can get some remedy out of this bad situation. The Better Business Bureau complaint against the Home Depot really helped and the Home Depot Asurion extended warranty plan really helped also. Complaining to Samsung was useless but now the Complaint is in there and the more in there hopefully will help someone else not make this bad decision of a Samsung Refrigerator.

Samsung agreed to pay for the 2nd fix, which has lasted for 3 months. Now it has the same problem again and they refuse to pay for the fix again. Their new "policy" is to only pay for repairs ONE time once an appliance is out of warranty, even if the repair is for the same problem that was obviously not fixed by previous repairs. Our repairmen told us that this model and others like it clearly suffer from a design defect, which Samsung refuses to admit is the case. Interestingly, turning off the icemaker prevents the periodic flooding. So our choices now are to pay every few months to have it "fixed", to leave the icemaker off, or buy a new refrigerator. It was the biggest mistake of our life. Lesson we learned not to buy what the salesman suggest you buy. Okay here is what happen. We bought a French door Refrigerator which the ice maker stopped working but I went on YouTube to fix it and it worked. The seal on the door keeps getting ripped from opening and closing.
My stove keeps burning my food and pans and I have it on the lowest setting. I cannot leave my stove running if I go out. My oven took a long time to cook. They came out twice to fix it. The heat element wasn’t working right so they changed it. When the man fixed the element he leaned on the oven door which then bent it. My microwave oven turned itself on and the light came on. We went out and when we get home the microwave oven which is also a conventional oven was reading 350 degrees. No one turned it on because no one was home. Three days after the warranty expired the microwave died. Now my dishwasher which is the only item left under warranty is not washing my dishes properly and my dishes are wet when it’s done. I always bought cheap appliances and they lasted a very long time. We feel since we bought more expensive appliances they would last longer.
Samsung is a very lousy company. I called Samsung about their products and they said I would have to pay for the tech to come out and fix the products. They didn’t want to know anything or take responsibility for their products. For $8,600.00 the product should have lasted longer than our cheap ones. We also bought a 65” Samsung TV. We had to have that fixed. If it was just us having these problems is one thing but the company knows the problems they have with their products but they turn their head and ignore the problem and keep selling faulty products. There are many complaints about their products. All the complaints all have the same problems.
Why doesn’t the government do something about this company. We are on Social Security and can’t go out and buy new appliances let alone losing what we paid for the Samsung appliances $8,600.00 plus the warranties. I hope someone starts a class action suit against Samsung for selling defective items and not making good for them. One other thing I forgot to say, when we got our stove and my husband opened the box. The glass on the stove was busted into pieces and the part on top was all bent. We should have stopped there and sent all the appliances back.

That water freezes inside of the refrigerator causing a huge ice jam to create behind the back plastic covering inside of the refrigerator. This has been reported to be a widespread issue.
All that you need to do is look up Samsung Refrigerator Issue on the internet. There are many individuals trying to provide so-called, "remedies". However you cannot fix a poor design and the issue amounts to individuals having to defrost their refrigerator every couple months. Also water builds up inside. The internal temperature fluctuates thus causing food spoilage. Additionally the catch basin underneath will overflow with water causing damage to floors. Samsung appears to turn their back on this issue, even though it is widely reported. The issue starts after about the first or second year of ownership.

I am having a week of nightmare with my Samsung refrigerator. My NEW refrigerator stopped cooling so I call this horrible company Samsung to help me and all they did was give me the number of a technician that could only come to my house and check the problem in 1 week. Finally when the technician came he told me that my NEW refrigerator's compressor does not work and needs to be replaced, and the process takes from 3-5 business day. So I called Samsung to ask for help since all my good has spoiled and I need to keep ordering food for the entire family, including our 3 years old child and Samsung said just to keep the receipt. REALLY?! If you even consider to get a Samsung refrigerator just stop it... They will sell you a broken one and will not help with anything you need... REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY.

I purchased a French door refrigerator from Lowe's about 15 months ago and I purchased a 5 year extended warranty in case something went wrong with the appliance. After about 14 months the refrigerator went bad and started popping the CGFI plug in the house. After contacting Lowe's to request help in support of this issue and try to use the extended warranty I was told that the warranty company refused to help saying that it was our fault the refrigerator was not working. I contacted Samsung to ask for help, they said they can send someone to diagnose the issue but it would cost me additional $165.00 for labor.
I agreed to this but the person who was supposed to perform the diagnoses was not even qualified to work on refrigerator and I'm sure he was not certified by Samsung to work on their appliances. He blamed us like the Lowe's supposed qualified technician that it was our fault that the refrigerator was not working. I have contact both Samsung and Lowe's many time without any progress. I have decided not to ever buy anything from Samsung or Lowe's. I hope you can learn from my mistake in dealing with well known companies. I can provide receipts if I feel this is going somewhere. I have spent too many hours waiting for people to show and diagnose and on hold, making phone call and talking with managers.

I have had my Samsung French door refrigerator for 2 years last September. Thankfully we purchased extended warranty on the appliances. First the defroster had to be upgraded because ice was building up under the deli tray. When they came out to fix that they found out the sensor panel was broken and the ice maker needed upgrades. The ice maker has now had six different upgrades and it still quits working every three months. Samsung says it's over a year old so they don't care. The extended warranty company says they didn't come out enough times to consider it a lemon so no exchanges for a refrigerator without an ice maker. Very disappointed and will never buy another Samsung product.

Purchased the refrigerator less than two years ago and after about 18 months refrigerator stopped cooling. After we paid Samsung to fix the issue which was a faulty sensor, fridge froze up and stopped cooling again. Every time there was a loud noise coming from the fridge. Of course shuts off when you open the door. Had to replace sensor 2x. Now it looks like we have to have it replaced again. Loud fan noise coming from the fridge. Don't buy a Samsung Fridge ever. Bad design.

I have a Samsung RF25HMEDBSR/AA side by side refrigerator that is nearly 2 years old, The ice maker has been a pain since 6 months after it was purchased, the thing drips water constantly, is moldy, does not produce enough ice, etc. It is mounted in the refrigerator portion of the unit in the upper left corner. It seems like it does not stay cool enough to keep the ice fully frozen and functioning. I had the ice maker and auger replace under an extended warranty package (I have been forced to purchase the warranty to the tune of 300 plus dollars a year), because Samsung customer support will not address the issue. The ice maker failed again this weekend after functioning properly for about 4 months. Thank goodness the warranty is still in place so it will be covered. Come on Samsung there are a ton of bad reviews on this unit, step up to the plate and make this right for your loyal customers!

All I can say is that I wish I had read reviews on Samsung refrigerators before I purchased mine. I've owned Samsung TV's and smart phones that are all exceptional and I thought the same would be true with Samsung appliances but I was dead wrong. Brand new refrigerator model # RF263BEAESG - only 6 months old - started leaking water out of the left side top where electrical wires are coming out of the top of refrigerator. Contacted Samsung. They created a repair ticket. After five days and no one showed up I called the service company only to go to voice mail. Call Samsung back and they give the service ticket to another service company... same thing 2nd time - service company wouldn't come to my house. After three weeks into the ordeal, Samsung said they would refund the purchase price of my refrigerator.
To get my money back I had to provide the original sales receipt, sign a contract saying I would dispose of the old refrigerator and not continue to use it, send the labels inside the refrigerator to Samsung showing model & serial # and cut the electrical cord. After complying with Samsung's request I then get an email two weeks later saying they don't have the serial # and we cannot move forward even though they had the serial # from my initial call for service. After several days of fighting this battle I get a call from Samsung saying they found the serial # but before they can process the claim now I need to go out and purchase a new refrigerator and show them the receipt for the new purchase. In addition, I need to show them a receipt from a haul away company that disposed of my refrigerator with the leaking ice maker.
Refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot. I have contacted the manager of the particular Home Depot store but so far they haven't offered much help. I Home Depot manager that given my experience and experiences I've read about from other consumers that if I were him I will completely discontinue selling Samsung appliances. I've owned many appliances over my 72 year life span and NEVER have I EVER experienced such an horrific experience. Given the runaround I've received from Samsung I doubt very seriously I'll ever receive a refund for my refrigerator. Stay away from Samsung appliances, particularly their refrigerators.

Samsung RF263 French Door Refrigerator - It is an expensive piece of garbage. The ice maker started frosting up like a freezer from the 50's/60's a little over a year after purchase. The door bins are cracked and held together with duct tape. Now it has stopped cooling completely. After reading and trying to determine the root cause, it is clear that Samsung makes inferior refrigerators, the number of complaints are incredible. Let's not forget about their washing machines blowing up as well. Maybe, as one reviewer state, it's time for a class action suit. I 'm sure consumers initially thought purchasing a Samsung refrigerator would be a good, safe, reliable purchase, evidently a lot of us were totally wrong and subsequently disappointed.

Just plugged back in still not working. No appliance repair available till next week. Thankful I have a 20 year old fridge that works in my garage to cool food. How many complaints until action taken against this matter! Fridge only has one year warranty! Shameful to spent $1400 on an appliance that the company has to be aware of poor design.

Buyer beware. Samsung will not reimburse you for out of pocket expenses for repair of their refrigerator. I purchased a French door Samsung fridge in June 2017. I tried to remove the ice bucket. It was frozen, I called customer service, the fridge was only 3 months old. Samsung sent their appliance tech over to install a new ice bucket. The tech said to unplug the fridge so the ice would melt and he could replace the defective ice bucket. I said, "Then the meat & dairy products would spoil". I was told to put it all in the bottom freezer, with dry ice on top. I said, "Who will pay for the dry ice". Samsung will reimburse me for the cost of the dry ice. Well that never happened.
After numerous phone calls I decided to contact BBB in New Jersey to file a complaint. A rep from Samsung did call after BBB sent them my complaint. Well I got a different story from the Samsung rep. Samsung does not reimburse customers for their out of pocket expenses, even if their fridge is only 3 months old. This is a Billion Dollar Corp. I told the rep and Samsung won't refund me $51.00. KEEP AWAY from Samsung appliances unless you want a pile of problems.

I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator model #RF23HCEDBSR/AA at Home Depot on July 4, 2016 to replace my still working 23 year old Kenmore refrigerator/freezer. I also purchased a 2 year extended warranty on it. Two weeks ago I noticed anything liquid being refrigerated was freezing solid. Internet research says most likely the main control board has failed and will need to be replaced. The part runs about $130. I contacted Home Depot and they gave me the purchase order number but claim that I didn't purchase an extended warranty. Unfortunately, I can't locate my receipt.
I did register the fridge with Samsung. I contacted Samsung and they advised me the fridge was out of warranty. To have it serviced would cost $160 just to come to my home and diagnose it. Parts and labor would be extra. So I'm looking at a minimal of $300 to fix something that shouldn't have crapped out after fifteen months. After reading that thousands of other US consumers are dealing with similar issues with their Samsung appliance purchases, I'm convinced this will be my last Samsung purchase until they make good on customer complaints and take action concerning quality control.

My new Samsung refrigerator has the worse smell ever. It is so bad that it permeates the eggs, the carton on my yogurt, throughout the house every time we open the fridge door. We have emptied the fridge twice, thrown out perfectly good food, unopened containers in order to prove to the Samsung reps that it isn't bad food in the fridge. We have washed with baking soda and kept a box in the fridge. Samsung has changed out my ice machine only to find that it was cracked unbeknownst to me. They changed the rubber around the fridge doors (the gaskets) because this new fridge stopped closing correctly. They are changing out the hinges because they told me they are broken. The only thing they haven't done is figured out where the smell is coming from.
There are a number of consumer reports on this issue yet I am being told it's the food in my fridge. At this point it is a health issue. And even though they gave me an extended warranty for the door issue they tell me I will be charged in the future. I will NEVER buy SAMSUNG again. I bought my washer and dryer at the same time as my fridge to upgrade my appliances and I have never been unhappier with a company. I don't believe they will resolve this based on the attitude and the complaints I have read. I want a replacement for this defective fridge. It is just a year old.

The SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR RF260BEASR/AA unit I purchased on 11/2015 has the same leaking problems under the crisper drawer that other Samsung models have. I searched the internet and discovered other people have the same issue and upon contacting Samsung they advised it's out of warranty and I will be charged $80.00 trip charge and $80.00 per hour service charge. Another design flaw my unit has is the freezer drawer dumps ice to the bottom of the freezer when it's opened. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be started.

My beautiful Samsung French-Door Refrigerator has caused us nothing but problems. Freezing up at the back of the unit, the ice maker worked well for about 12 months and then would jam and ice over, to the point where I can't open the ice cabinet any more. Have had 2 repairs done, and $800 later it's no better. It will be going out on the front lawn in about 2 weeks, as I think that's all the life that is left in her. Many of our friends have has the same issue... not sure why there hasn't been a recall on any of the parts that we had repaired. Try Googling "issues with Samsung fridges" - and the first thing that comes up is fridge icing over... hmm... I detect a theme here. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG FRIDGES!!! They blow...

RF18HFENBSR, less than 8 months old randomly stops cooling in both compartments. Temperature display indicates the SET temperature, not the ACTUAL temperature. No error codes (based on info from web searching the problem). If I unplug it, wait two minutes, then plug it back, the temperature displays will update to show ACTUAL temperature and unit MIGHT start cooling again. First tech "determined" it was the electrical outlet, so I moved it to another outlet. Since it started working, they decided the case was closed. When unit stop again, I called again. Samsung phone chat support says the unit needs support, but I can't get support to come out in less than a week. Meanwhile I have no refrigerator. According to my web research, this is a known problem with no known fix. It's been a total of three weeks.
