We purchased the Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model: RF25HMEDB6SA back in August of 2014 and started experiencing issues 18 months ago. Water was leaking from ice maker into crisper. Ice maker was also freezing up and required defrosting. Also, the refrigerator began making a churning noise so we finally contacted Samsung to get the appliance "serviced". They sent a technician from their authorized repair company (HSN) on 6/1. The representative from the company said that it was a bad sensor that needed to be replaced and should not have any more issues. Within 10 days, the churning sound was worse than ever. Called them back, same technician "fixed" the issue again. Wrong!

Long story short, I've had several interactions with Samsung and their "service" company with no positive results. Even though I had $200 invested in the repair with Samsung/HSN, I decided to contact a reputable company to diagnose the issue. They informed me that the "service" company did not follow the service bulletins that Samsung published. The cost to deploy the "fixes" that Samsung recommended would be over $1K for an appliance that I paid $2400 for not even four years ago! We are now buying a new refrigerator and will NEVER buy another Samsung product. Terrible product and dishonest company.

Purchased a Samsung French door black stainless steel refrigerator on Sunday (8/5/2018). From the moment we plugged it in the display flashes an PC ER code. After some searching online found a fix for it that didn’t fix it (shocker) so Monday morning called Samsung to schedule a service, because I really wasn’t trying to load it back and return to store although in hindsight should’ve done that, tech arrived Tuesday and did the same thing I had already done to try and resolve the problem which I explained to the customer service representatives I spoke with when making the service appointment.

One would think since the refrigerator model and serial number plus the problem was told to the representatives the tech they send out would come prepared with what would be needed to fix it... sadly not the case. So 2 days after purchase and a service visit I’m stuck waiting an additional 2-3 for the part that should (but not completely sure) fix the issue. I’ll be calling customer service to cancel everything and just load the piece of junk back up and return it and spend a little more for a more reliable brand. I will definitely not be purchasing any other Samsung home appliances. If you like the hassle of purchasing something and not having it work properly by all means spend the money on Samsung appliances and enjoy the stress and hassle of having to go through a service call on a new product.

In 2016 we purchased a Samsung refrigerator and other Samsung kitchen appliances. The refrigerator Model RF25HMEDBSG is a piece of junk with the ice maker freezing over ALL the time. At first we called and had a tech come out to fix it. He mentioned that this is a very common problem. So after reading all the same issues others are having why is there not a recall on such a piece of junk. DO NOT waste your money. It happens so often, we keep a hair dryer near the fridge to defrost the darn thing so we can get ice. I will never buy another Samsung appliance.

I too bought the French Doors Samsung refrigerator. Five ice maker repairs, water in floor, 80 degrees in fridge side and the clicking of the fan as it starts hitting ice buildup and then dies a painful death. This refrigerator is truly junk and is not inexpensive. I have had it four years and as I type this it is not working. Tech suppose to come Tuesday the 14th of August. Repair if able to be repaired will only last short while. To say the least I am give up fooling with this expensive piece of junk and will never buy another Samsung fridge.

I bought Samsung dishwasher and a Samsung refrigerator. A little after a year our dishwasher went out. Samsung sent out a repairman. It cost us a little over $200.00 dollars to get fixed. A few months later it stopped working again. Decided to get rid of the dishwasher. The icemaker and the fridge part of our refrigerator stopped working. Samsung referred us to Service Quick to repair it. The serviceman told us the ice maker will need to be replaced and to fix the fridge he will need a sensor. The cost would be $900.00 and $200.00 service call. I called Samsung again and they do nothing for people who buy their products. DO NOT BUY ANY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS. We decided to buy another refrigerator. NOT A SAMSUNG!

4 Door Refrigerator: I bought Samsung's line of appliances when I redid my kitchen the summer of 2015. I've had the ice maker repaired 2x since then and had to pay out of my pocket since the year warranty was up. Now for the second time the compressor went. The compressor has a 5 year warranty. The first time they put Freon because they couldn't find the leak. They came again and said it is not fixable that I should be getting a new refrigerator from Samsung. Went painstaking through the process to the point I was told they are locating my model. Once they do and "it's on the truck" they'll call with the delivery date. Didn't hear anything for a week. Called back I and was told since the refrigerator is out of warranty they are not giving me a new one. I said the compressor is not fixable and has a 5 year warranty. I was told that doesn't matter because the refrigerator warranty is up and the compressor is not fixable.

So why do you claim a 5 year warranty on compressor. If you can't fix or replace the compressor it's my problem??? BTW the compressor is in a location they cannot reach, so they say. $3000 for a refrigerator that has had issues after 18 months. I asked to speak to a supervisor w/ 3 different calls. Finally got one, Ricky, and he swore he'd get back to me in 3 hour. That was a week ago. The customer service is HORRIBLE. They've hung up on me 3x and never called back. And each call since 6/29/18 is an hour. You need to go through the whole story. After telling me I was getting a new refrigerator and waiting a week to find out, no, no refrigerator not one person from Samsung called to tell me they changed their minds. I am now going to get a lawyer.

The ice maker on this fridge (Samsung Refrigerator Model RF23HCEDBWW) is a nightmare. We have had it for a year and since day one, it has created frost, not dispensed a lot of ice and leaked both inside and outside of the appliance. It builds ice up inside the refrigerator portion, underneath the bottom chill drawer. Save yourself some heartache and DO NOT purchase this model.

I bought a Samsung French three door refrigerator. Ice maker froze over, major ice build up in the back panel of the unit. The fan began hitting the ice build up. I called Samsung, a representative told me parts and labor were covered for 5 years. Technician shows up and tells me the evaporator fan and defrost sensor are bad. Technician tells me those items are not covered. I called Samsung while the technician is here working on the unit. Samsung tells me again the units cooling system is covered under warranty.

The technician tells me and the Samsung representative the parts are not covered. Samsung representative tells me the evaporator fan and sensor are not covered because they are not part of the cooling system. I watch the technician out sealer around the icemaker because the unit doesn't have a good seal. 326.00 it costs me to fix the unit. After 55 minutes on the phone, Samsung tells me they cannot help with the cost. I spoke with Dianna and Henderson in customer service. I WILL NOT BY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN.

I’m another unhappy Samsung customer. I have bought half of my appliances from Samsung and I do regret a lot that. Customer service is shady with clear intent to hid the problem. Overpromised repair, and didn’t follow up. Do not buy it. There is a class action again Samsung for the designed flawed ice maker. And they are not offering to help fixing it. They are putting it under the buyers’ responsibility. Shady and awful company. I will avoid as much as I can to ever buy any other product from Samsung. They may save a couple of hundred dollars by not fixing the ice maker issue, but with that I hope they lose thousands of dollars by not selling me anything else ever again.

I bought my Samsung refrigerator in Aug 2013. The soda stream compartment failed in the first 6 months and was replaced under warranty. A year later, the fan in the back of the fridge made loud noises. It was covered with ice so the repairman replaced the entire panel. A year after that, it froze again and the repairman pulled it out and thawed it with a hairdryer. This continued every year. Now that I am in year 5, the main display is now inoperable and beeps continuously. The freezer is 48 degrees and the fridge is at 43. It is not cooling at all. Repairman out today said the main panel needs to be replaced. He got it running, but now the compressor sounds like a helicopter. I would never expect this amount of aggravation from a "quality" brand. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!!! We have decided to buy another brand after 5 years. You would think it would have lasted at least 15.

Updated on 08/16/2018: I called Samsung on Aug 3 and was told since my fridge was just under 5 years old, the warranty on the electronics (power board) and compressor would be covered. I submitted all the requested information on their website on Aug 6. After almost 2 weeks (freezer at 62 degrees), a Samsung repair tech came out. He said it's not covered under warranty. This is ridiculous to spend $3k on a refrigerator only to have it completely die in under 5 years. I will NEVER buy another Samsung. I'm so disappointed.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2016. I have since had to manually defrost the coil and fan three times and as I am writing this, the fan is running noisily and tomorrow I will have to pull off the back panel behind the shelves and defrost it yet again with a hairdryer because this build up keeps the refrigerator from cooling. I am a disabled man living mostly on a fixed income. The refrigerator cost roughly $3000 which took me a year to pay off. I called customer service and the rep told me that he could do nothing about it. I asked to speak to his supervisor to see what recourse I had if any and was met with extreme hostility. He outright refused to resolve my issue or offer anything helpful.

Samsung needs to teach its people what professional customer service looks like. I did not appreciate the condescending tone of their customer support agents. I also work for the largest home goods and building material retailer in the United States and have actively informed customers not to purchase any Samsung appliance until they improve the quality of their product and customer support. I would suggest that others provide the same service to family and friends who need to spend their hard earned money on a new appliance.

Recently, we needed a new dishwasher and purchased a GE which my wife and I are very pleased with. Presently, we will never buy any Samsung product whether it be a household appliance, phone, tablet, TV or anything else. After the “convenient” freezer door handle, being only supported through plastic, broke off for the second time and after having manually defrosted the fan, coil, and heating element for the third time in two weeks, I bit the bullet and bought a new fridge. It seems you have to purchase the entire freezer drawer to fix one plastic piece.

By the way, the Whirlpool I purchased has performed great with all the features of the Samsung for about 40% less cost. I have just finished writing a rather lengthy letter to the consumer protection agency documenting the numerous issues and failed CS conversations. I advise anyone thinking of doing the same be sure to document all calls (i.e. date, time, rep name, etc.). Take pictures with your phone of all visible issues including the rust spots your stainless probably has because of its apparent poor quality. I am hopeful someone may read this who can help...

I'll never buy another Samsung fridge again. The icemaker is worthless - crushes ice when you try and get cubes. Hardly any cubes come out anyway. Water and ice dispenser leak. Worst problem is the rattling noise caused by a small compressor fan blades hitting ice build-up in back of fridge behind the inside rear panel. Technician came out and removed all ice buildup and replaced the fan. He then repositioned a sensor control and plugged an air hole in back. He said it would not have icing problem again. 3 months later, the same problem. Very annoying, obnoxious rattling noise as fan clicks on ice. There are dozens of Internet posts. Clearly a design defect. Samsung takes no responsibility for the problem. They said they came out once - and any other calls will be on my nickel. Pathetic! They don't or won't or can't fix the defect - and they expect you to pay for it!

I was promised a refund for my unrepairable Samsung refrigerator, and they rescinded that offer. Terrible customer service. People were argumentative. Information was withheld from me. One support person even had the gall to tell me that I should have known the refund procedure. Everyone refused to connect me to a manager. And no manager ever called me back. Speaking with a manager may have cleared up the refund procedure. The whole process was taking over a month, and I was without a working refrigerator. I was never told that there were stipulations attached to the refund, namely that I needed to take pictures of the detached serial number and power cord. They told me to keep the unit until the refund was final.

When I asked "why", their only answer was that the refund was not final. They NEVER said that I would NOT get the refund without the unit, because at the very end they would ask me to provide picture documentation. They told me I had to dispose of the unit myself, which I had Sears haul it away. Now Samsung is saying "GOTCHA! even though we withheld the refund requirements, we still rescind the offer".

The engineers came and changed many parts but the result it will work for 5 to ten days and fail. Me being a techie could find the problem that the defrosting doesn't take place. Now they are telling me that they are ready to give me 54% of the invoice and they will take back my fridge. But when paid 60000/- and works for 2.5 years why should buy from Samsung. So bad that it's starting to rust the outer door where water has been dripping down from the ice dispenser on to the outer door. Called and they said it would cost me well over $300.00 to fix it. They didn't say anything about the rust on the door. Even though the warranty is up, this is crazy. We just had a service guy come out on yesterday about another issue with the TwinCooling Plus panel on the inside back wall. That was $309.00. Three hundred here and three hundred there adds up to a lot. Also the warranty on this is only for a year. Have a lot of Samsung TVs and washer and dryer. I bought a French Door, 2 drawer blue stainless Samsung refrigerator Model # RF25HMEDBSG 19 months ago. The icemaker started freezing up immediately after the 12 month warranty expired. I have deiced the icemaker 4 times in the last seven months. This week the fan in the back started making noise because it was rubbing on an ice buildup in the coils. This isn't what I expected when I laid out $ 2,088 for what I thought was a quality product. I didn't think I would need an extended warranty to cover the first three years. Wrong!! I looked at a YouTube video which saved me a service call which would have cost about $300 from Dish.

What I learned was that there is a way to do a manual defrost for the coils that is not in the User's Manual. Empty your refrigerator.

On my model, press the top item on the left side of the display which is "Freezer" and the middle item on the right side which is "Lighting" and hold for 12 seconds. It will go through a series of displays and stop on the last which is "FD" for Fast Defrost. This activates the heating elements to defrost the coils. It beeps for 30 or 40 minutes then stops which I assume means that the defrost is complete. I carefully defrosted the icemaker with a heat gun on "low" from a distance. That was 3 days ago and I have icemaker ice and no fan noise. We shall see how long it holds up. The YouTube showed an older model but by pressing the SAME LOCATIONS on the display twelve seconds, FF came up and he had to press a function three or four times until the Fast Defrost FD started. Use at your own discretion. I hope this saves you some repair $$.

Samsung has "eye-catching" features on their refrigerators HOWEVER as the saying goes "Just because it glitters does not mean it's gold"! In other words "JUST BECAUSE IT LOOKS FANCY DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL WORK LIKE IT SHOULD"! I purchased a Samsung (Model#: RF28HFEDTBC - bottom freezer) four (4) years ago (9/2014) with a 3yr warranty. I paid over $1800 ON SALE! Now the ice is building up in the fridge ice maker and in the back unit. A technician from the "Network Group" technicians came out to check why my fridge was not cooling like it should. The tech told me that the ice maker has a "replacement" unit and this is why the fridge back panel has iced up. He said that the issue with the ice maker NOT working properly is causing the other issues. That sounds like a "defective part" to me! REFRIGERATORS LIFE EXPECTANCY IS MINIMUM 14yrs!

He recommended that I keep the top ice maker off and only use the freezer ice maker or this will probably happen again. The technician also recommended that if I did not want to pay the $300.00 for the ice maker replacement, $150.00 for the back panel defrost/replacement of the fan, $80.00 for labor, that I could just pay the $80.00 for his 10-minute visit and unplug the fridge for minimum 3-5 days to allow it to defrost myself. I have been without a fridge for a week now trying to make sure the ice has fully defrosted. My cooler with bags of ice is keeping my food colder than that SAMSUNG! Maybe I should have got a mini fridge and an ice chest! Anything would have been better than this SAMSUNG refrigerator! I will NEVER buy a SAMSUNG product again.

My wife loved the look of the Samsung black stainless steel so we bought an entire house full of appliances. Refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. Every single one of them has failed in that year, some on multiple occasions.

Our microwave which most appliance repair guys will tell you are pretty universally reliable broke within the first month. The gas range needed repaired on three separate occasions, the dishwasher has been repaired twice and works intermittently now, the dryer squeals like a pig going to slaughter and the refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation this past May. We have now been without a refrigerator for just shy of two months. It took Samsung over a month to send out a technician to look at it and another two weeks to get parts. After the “repair” the technician informed us that the unit was not repairable and a replacement was needed. Bear in mind we bought the appliances in May of 2017, the refrigerator failed in May of 2018 and now in July after telling us it is not repairable and they are sending a replacement unit. I get an email apologizing for the inconvenience but that they will not replace the unit nor fix the dryer.

We had never had new appliances and a year ago we were excited that now we had a houseful of beautiful new shiny appliances. Some of these appliances are nearly top of the line Samsung models and all of them have failed or no longer function. Do yourself and your family a favor and do not purchase Samsung products or at least do not purchase their appliances. I have never made such a large purchase and been as disappointed as I have with Samsung. They have been horrible in every facet from quality to service. Do not make the same mistake we did. Samsung is a horrible company.

The resulting opinion is that the noise is normal. I am having to endure it as I type this and would encourage anyone to NOT BUY a Samsung appliance. Another thing is the space inside. The shelves are not spaced to hold American-sized food/drink containers, so we have to store them on their sides. From what I've read, they make fine electronics - TVs, etc. Just don't buy their appliances.

When I purchased my expensive Samsung Refrigerator about two years ago, the installer recommended strongly that I purchase an extended warranty. My reaction was... since my 18 year old KitchenAid that I was replacing never had a single issue in its lifetime (it was just getting dated), I would think that the Samsung engineers would have really learned how to make a solid product. How wrong I was! A few days after the one year warranty expired, the ice maker started to quit. I would defrost it, and then it would work for a while and quit again. Now it has quit completely.

Now it is making lots of noise because a fan is hitting an ice build-up on the cooling coils. I've had to shut it down, move all the contents to our now 20 year old KitchenAid (working great) in the garage, and let the Samsung sit warm for a day before starting it up again. It works for a while, but this continues to be a repeating problem. The ice maker has crapped out completely, and I use the one in the 20 year old Kitchen Aid in the garage. My expensive Samsung is truly a piece of junk not worthy of being called a refrigerator. Never Again!

As soon as I bought this refrigerator, Model # RF24FSEDBSR/AA which costed me $3,400 started having a problem within a week from the installation. Samsung sent me 2 different the 3rd party vendors to fix the problem since the 1st one couldn't. These two 3rd party vendors moved around my refrigerator in order to take a look at the back at that time.

For last 5-6 months my fridge stopped cooling and it was accumulating ice in the back panel along with lots water dripping on the wall panel. Foods were easily molding and spoiled. When I called Samsung, they stated it's because the refrigerator is not leveled and eventually it's ruined fan functions. My refrigerator stayed exactly how the Samsung repairman left little less than 3 years ago with the wheels touch ground which was causing unleveling and eventual ruining the fridge completely. Samsung was showing no apology nor remedy whatsoever since the warranty time is over. They were asking me to talk to the vendor who left the refrigerator unleveled even though Samsung is the one who hired those vendors 3 years ago. Extremely disappointed with Samsung product and their service. Never buying Samsung products again. Definitely I will let other people to hear my voice every chance I get.

Last September we had purchased a Samsung refrigerator. A month later the Slide and Reach pantry flap broke; very cheap design. I had some personal issues with my aging parents and was unable to do anything until May. First, I had difficulty communicating with the customer agent as well as being told that the part number in the manual may be different on their end. Really??? After almost 40 minutes they said the part would be shipped.

On July 2, I called and again there was an issue understanding the reason why they did not ship the part. Again, after another 40 minute conversation trying to clarify what part I needed he assured me he understood and will ship the part. It finally came July 11. Guess what? WRONG PART. Sent me the drawer and not the flap! So, I call again. After 10 minutes of listening and not understanding the woman on the other end, I asked to talk to someone who spoke better English. After 10 minutes on hold, a supervisor (not speaking any better English) told me this part was not covered under the warranty to be shipped and that only a technician could order it; technician NOT covered under the warranty. At least, this is what I understood of the broken conversation. I will do my best to make sure that any major appliance purchased in the future will be made or serviced by the United States such as I have been trying to do with the things I purchase now.

We have the Family Hub French door with the screen in front. Paid approx $2300. This thing is a piece of garbage. First, they changed the app with no notification so we lost all the things we had programmed including pictures. The ice maker is HORRIBLE!!! So horrible that I have invested in a portable countertop ice maker. I'm not sure what's going on with it, but whenever we call for service, we're told we have to defrost it before they'll come. How does that show them the issue?

The ice and water spills outside the ice bucket and then freezes together. Every few days, it stops making ice. That's because it's clogged with ice and can't work any longer. I have to take a hair dryer to it to defrost all the stuck frozen water and ice cubes. Today I did it, and I noticed there is a ton of mold under the lip of the mouth where the water and ice comes out to the dispenser. Gross. There is no way to get to the mold. Also, ice gets stuck in the dispenser and melts, so it leaks onto the dispenser on the door. I wish I would have taken a picture of the clumped frozen water before I posted this. Piece of garbage. Do not buy!

Oh, boy... like everyone else writing reviews, here, our Samsung French door fridge with the ice maker in the food section of the fridge is a piece of junk. ($3000.00 on sale for $2000.00.) The ice maker has been the biggest of problems... not to mention the flap on the left door, which allows you to close either door first, broke early in the game, requiring the left door to always being closed first. Where the glass components meet the plastic components, any spillage of liquid will seep under the glass and becomes a permanent stain.

And there's more, but I do have a solution to the ice maker problem, so pay attention! We had an appliance guy out this week and he confirmed what I had thought all along: the ice maker DOES NOT belong in the fridge. But, there is a fix, which I did, and it seems to be working. FIRST: remove EVERYTHING from the fridge (Hopefully, you have a back-up, because you'll have to turn off, or unplug the whole unit and let the entire unit defrost.) THAT'S the problem: frost.

While this is happening, head to the hardware store and buy a tube of "food grade" silicone. There is a seam all around the ice maker box. Carefully caulk that seam with the silicone and let it cure for 24 hours. (Keep the doors OPEN.) If you do a really good job with the silicone, it will be invisible. The next day, the silicone will be dry and the odor will be gone. Fire her back up and return your food to the fridge. IMPORTANT!: set the temperature to 0 degrees in the freezer to help prevent excessive frosting.

It has been 5 days and the ice maker has only jammed once, so I decided to empty the ice cube bin into plastic bags and move them into the freezer, where they belong, or turn the ice make OFF when the bin is full. But, we do have a working ice maker, now. It just needs a little TLC. Okay, now that we got past THAT, wanna talk about the engineering degree you need to remove and replace the drawers? Or, how about the brushed stainless steel exterior that will attract any smudge within a 50 yard radius. Can you imagine all of your appliances and electronic devices requiring this much attention? Gheeez.... okay... It's the worst piece of crap I ever paid more than 20 bucks for.

The only good thing was I called Lowe's and told them I was returning it talked with manager of store. He was amazing. Told me to go online and pick out a new fridge and they would replace it. I had a 7 year old Samsung refrigerator that froze up completely in the back which stops the fan and then the refrigerator does not cool. Had it repaired 3 times in a month. Problem kept happening and I pretty much didn’t have a working refrigerator for 5 weeks. Finally the repairman told me the whole cooling system had to be replaced. The cost would be at least 1200.00. I wasn’t going to put that much money into a refrigerator that was over 7 years old. I thought this was just bad luck and went out and bought another Samsung refrigerator.

2 years later the exact same thing is happening and I’m going through the same thing with the Samsung Repairman who keeps coming in to fix it and two weeks later it happens again. Now I find out doing my research that this is a common problem for Samsung refrigerators and there are two class action lawsuits against them. Because the refrigerator is less than 5 years old the main cooling system is still under warranty, but Samsung doesn’t want to admit that that’s the problem and replace it. Customer service is not helpful at all and they really don’t care how long you have to go without a refrigerator. Besides this problem the inside of these refrigerators are made like crap. All the shelves on the doors have cracks in them and all the wheels on the drawers have snapped off. I will never buy another Samsung product again, unfortunately it was a very expensive lesson to learn.

The technician was familiar with the problem because Samsung had sent out a service notice to the effect that this ice maker was defective in many of this model refrigerator. Although this is a known defect, Samsung does not support its product if the problem becomes evident after the 1-year warranty has expired. My refrigerator is 2 years old. I have to pay $450 in parts and labor to replace the part. When I called, Samsung refused to pay even for the parts because it is not their policy to do so. I am thoroughly convinced, after having read similar reviews published within the last few days and weeks, that the Samsung refrigerators were either immediately defective upon being manufactured or became defective while in transit. Though the product is currently under warranty, I do not look forward to having to deal with the retailer (Home Depot) and/or the manufacturer in order to repair it. I strongly advise the reader to not purchase a Samsung refrigerator.

We purchased our Samsung RS261MDRS/XAA a Little less than 5 years ago. It has been a nightmare. The first week, we had to call the company because the refrigerator was not cooling properly. We had a "technician" come by to fix it. Perhaps it was a computer problem. The refrigerator would not cool properly, and the freezer would frost up. The very first years we had several people try to fix the freezing of the back panel problem. We have nursed it along, but less than 5 years of ownership, for the second or third time, we have had to move all of our food elsewhere to keep from losing it. The fan made a loud clatter, then nothing. Food kept getting warmer - who knows what's safe, so we had to throw it all away again! Samsung is over their head with refrigerators- cell phones, not so much. Buy at your own risk.

In good faith we purchased a Samsung refrigerator in June 2013 from Home Depot. We purchased the extended warranty - we have had use this warranty for repairs over 10 times in under 5 years. On May 5 2018 the entire cooling system failed. I lost a ton of food and had to eat out every day. The repair guy 'fixed' / 'replaced' the cooling system on May 14 2018. Just for the cooling system to fail again on June 1 2018 less than 2 weeks after the 'fix' / repair - this has left me with no freezer and no refrigerator - this unit is now deemed irreparable (it is a sitting duck not working) and I am now left with no way to keep anything cold or frozen while your process takes its sweet time. I have lost over $1000 worth of food and this is not even taking into account the food I need to buy each day for my family just to live, as I cannot keep anything cool or frozen!

I was told I need to wait 10-12 days before an RMA is issued from June 5th 2018 - how long after that will it take to get an actual unit! This means I am now 2 months without any way to keep fresh food. I am beyond frustrated. I called today your company on 6/12/2018 just to be told I will receive a refurbished one. Well isn't my new one that was repaired on May 14 2018 considered refurbished? I do not want a refurbished unit. This is so unacceptable as we are suffering not the paper pushers and the approvers.

Why does this process take so long? We are out $100 and $100 of dollars in food that we don't have the money to spend so that just means we are going into debt for this hassle. I feel I am being held hostage by your company and slowness to respond. This has been a horrible year with family deaths and now I have to deal with this situation. I have a medical dog who can only eat fresh food due to kidney failure as kibble is too drying for her. So the stress of keeping her alive without cooling is horrid.

We purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator/Freezer almost 3 years ago from PC Richard & Son. We have replaced the shelves which line the doors at least 6 times. They are of the absolute poorest quality and are usable for barely 6 months before breaking. Samsung has ZERO to say about this, and offers nothing to the consumer in terms of compensation. We have spent over $250 on new shelves. This is apparently quite a common problem as the shelves are back-ordered and we are now living with one empty door. Aside from this, the ice maker is on its 3rd breakdown. This is another common issue with Samsung.

There is a video on Youtube about how to try fixing it at home with 100,000 views - as my husband says, it's hard to imagine that people are watching this for entertainment. Apparently the ice builds up in the back of the fridge and is then hit by a fan, causing an incredibly loud, constant noise. We have had this repaired twice by PC Richard, the last time was just a couple of weeks ago. Samsung refuses to acknowledge that their product is defective, and offered us parts if we would pay their service department for the repair. Funny that their same defective parts have failed to fix the problem twice already. My refrigerator is now empty while my husband attempts to blow dry the back of it to get the ice to melt. Samsung is producing complete and utter garbage. They have no respect for their customers and do not stand behind their products. I had purchased a Samsung French Door fridge 5 years ago as it was the only model at the time that would fit in my small kitchen (17 cu ft model). As many reported, from the start, the ice maker freezes ice cubes together in the bin and cleanups are frequent. Secondly, the finish on the door handles (mine are white) just flakes off. I was told they would be over $80 to replace each one. I could live with those issues, however, my fridge developed the same water issue others noted. It collects under the crispers, freezes and makes a mess. I noted "online" this is a common issue and there are "YouTube" videos on how to repair yourself. Why must I do that??? Samsung knows of the major DEFECT in their products and one would think a recall would have been issued but basically "tough luck".

To others reading this, a cheap temporary fix for the water issue: Head to a local Dollar Store and purchase plenty of those "drying cloths" for cars in their auto section (they resemble camos). I placed one under each crisper and they absorb the water which freezes in them (and keeps out of your crispers). After a few days just remove, run under hot water, ring out and replace. Prepare to do that often until you fix this excuse of an appliance or replace it. I am going to junk this thing soon and replace with a Kenmore.

I can just sit down and write a novel about my disposable fridge that would make a priest want to renounce his vows, oh my! And that's not all! So while I have your attention, let me begin with the juiciness of this sought over novel, soon to be released; not appropriate for the weak-minded, lame, sex offenders, and others whom are abusive.

My story begins on the purchase date of December 3, 2010, not to be delivered until December 21, 2010 on Model: RF217ACRSXAA; Brand: Samsung 20 cubit ft B/M french doors; cost $1,299.00, growling! OK, it's going on 8-years old, so what? Don't you want for your refrigerator to last more than just 8 years, I do? After all, $1,299 isn't anything to laugh about on the high cost of paying for any appliance that should serve their customers well in the long-run; hello, this one doesn't cut the cake, in fact, it lacked in all areas.

Listen up now in hearing the truth and the reality of this poorly constructed, over-priced, defective, piece of disposable stainless steel has-been appliance of junk. Not pretty so far, and it's not going to get any prettier, trust me. To save time, I'm just going to list the issues in laying them straight out for your digestion, and I hope they don't deliver unto any of you any form of nausea, flu-like symptoms, diarrhea, or self-inflicted wounds; even thou tempted. This appliance was doomed when formed in the craters of the stainless steel womb in appliance making; in layman's terms it was defective and unacceptable and much made aware of, however, Samsung continued to disregard any discrepancies of their workmanship and so they continued on.

This so-called wannabe fridge didn't pan out at all in its performance and the companies bragging and boasting of such a wonderful product; check out the other sources of reviews regarding their refrigerators and you'll see the tremendous faults and Samsung's own claims that it was your fault based upon "reasonable wear and tear," other words, your daily usage of their product. BULL! Cheap and stupid comment! Everything we have is considered being used on a daily basis as wear and tear.

So it comes down to: a faulty and a unacceptable product with the first thing happening were dents appearing upon the surface front of the stainless steel in various areas where nothing was knocked or hit upon the refrigerator, and this still remains a mystery to this day; and suddenly one day out of the blue when upon opening and gagging, a vile odor of non-delight smacked me right in the face of something raw and diseased in leaving a stench of a decomposed corpse somewhere hiding in my fridge, it was so intrusive and vile that I had to end up removing everything in my fridge to remove the odor of death with vinegar, baking powder, peroxide and rubbing alcohol, which finally helped in this hideous stench, plus it harbored its odor upon my cheese and butter, which I had to dispose of, costing me money in waste, and then having to replace those items which cost me more.

This lovely saga lasted over 1-year in the making and it wasn't pretty, as I had to do this every 3-months. When I contacted this lovely and caring company, I was told to "wash down my fridge." Hahaha! Now that's funny! I reported to this expertise person filled with much knowledge and wisdom, that this was exactly what I had done. Then her reply was, "it takes time and it'll go away." Another bout of uncontrollable laughter in asking her, "what if it doesn't go away, then what?" Only to be told again by this person of much esteem, "then call us back." OK, as if my calling is going to be opening their deaf ears, NOT!

Now moving on to my wonderful and functional ice maker, which when my fridge was installed, the ice maker wasn't even hooked up due to our older home not having any water hookup for a refrigerator that had an ice maker. So the installer, turned that option off as we didn't use it. So in the 7 years in which we've had our disaster of a fridge with all of its sought after imperfections, we're still experiencing problems with the ice maker. This problem has now been addressed 3 times, with a repairman coming out doing his magical diagnostic check to say it was our ice maker programmed in indicating that there is a problem. What kind of a problem you asked, well, it's programmed of course with all of its electronic components saying that there is an ice issue and leaking. NOT!

So this lovely costly $100 gadget of necessity had to be replaced, why, well it's because of the way Samsung designs their appliances causing for them to react in indicating something that isn't. But in order for my fridge to work, I had to pay for it as it was out of warranty. How lovely and kind is Samsung to do that in their designing and corruptible computer technology to showcase this error of "DECEIT." So it was done and I had thought over, but once again, the fun and love of this fridge is expressing itself all over again, and less than one year after it was supposedly been fixed and not to do it again. Yeah, right!

So this time Mr. Mechanic, Man of Genius (another repairman) comes out and swiftly removes the ice maker saying that it wasn't needed and therefore I didn't need for it to be there. No charge this time, saying it was a courtesy call. And after 3 months, surprised! I know, your hearts must be breaking by now. So once again a call was made and several people spoken with, all whom didn't know what was said nor documented from the others, so I had to repeat everything over and over; my patience was low and running thin by now.

So finally a service call was made by a company who would call me to confirm within the week regarding an ice maker that was removed and yet there was still a problem. The company called, the serviceman and I talked, only to find out that what Samsung had told him was nothing that I had said that I needed help on. They told him that I had a water leak, when I had an ice maker that was removed and the code were showing that I had a water leak coming from my ice maker that was previously removed.

The serviceman suggested I call them back to report this, as there was no reason for him to come out for something that doesn't exist. The call was made, I had talked to 4 people and was told someone would be contacting me (this was in May of this year 2018). And yet at this time no one has contacted me on scheduling anyone to assist me, and my fridge is still the same as it was before where you have no option in controlling your refrigerator's temperature, and it's not as cold as it should be where numerous items of food had to be removed and thrown away. So now what?

Let this vicious, but yet lovely and caring company who jumps hoops and swims the ocean, climbs the highest mountains and deals with volcanoes just to make sure that their appliances will be serviced well and proper, leaving you with a sense of relief and comfort, and cold foods. Wow! Guess I'm in good hands after all; and here I thought Jack the Ripper was bad.

The angel in this scenario is Jessica (and Dianne) assistant manager at Lowe's in Santa Clarita California. She is willing to order the replacement without having the old unit back. Because it's a special order will take 10 days to get to the store. That puts me at the 14th of June, almost exactly 1 month from the date of my 2nd repair and the day I get on a plane to go to Europe for 2 weeks. Here’s the Bottom line, Samsung did nothing to make this an easy process and they don’t care. I just stumbled on this site and can see this is a known issue and they have done nothing to fix the problem. During manufacturing or after the units were purchased.

The refrigerator we purchased 1 yr & 8 mos ago stopped working. After waiting a week and a half for a repair company to come the repair company told us it was too big of a problem for them to fix. They called it a sealed system breakdown. We were sent back to communicating with Samsung. Now every time anything actually happens it’s a Thursday or Friday so the whole weekend goes by with no action. I finally get Samsung to assign us a new repair company that supposedly deals with Sealed Systems.

We are given a date three weeks later. I demanded that is too long. I’m told I have to deal with the repair company about the date. I try but they don’t care, they’re just the repair company and I’m not the one paying them so why would they care?! Of course Nothing happens. I finally put my foot down and insist that we get a new fridge. Three more days goes by & Samsung keeps promising me every day that management is going to call me back. Guess what? No one ever calls. Another Friday... Another weekend with no action!

Now today a month after this whole thing starts & the fridge stopped working I’m told this morning that Home Depot (our original purchase location) is where we get the replacement fridge from and I have to go through them for delivery date. FOUR phone calls later to Home Depot today and hours later it is determined that Home Depot has nothing to do with it. What a waste of my day! Come to find out the fridge is now in our town but no delivery date is available so I just have to sit and wait. Let’s summarize by saying I will never buy anything from Samsung again

We have since realized that our energy bill spiked at least $50 a month since January and it has now dawned on us that it is because as the fridge got worse and worse & was probably pulling more & more energy trying to stay cold. Between the groceries that we lost, the spike in energy cost and the money spent going out to eat because we haven’t had a fridge for a month Samsung owes us a lot more than a replacement but I will not hold my breath! Unacceptable!!

Updated on 07/02/2018: If you read my previous review you saw the horrible experience we had going two months without a refrigerator. When the delivery company eventually showed up with our new refrigerator, just as we feared, they were merely truck drivers and had no expectation of installing the new fridge. As soon as it was brought off the truck we’ve noticed a dent in the front right door.

Also as the delivery men brought it into the house they damaged our kitchen wall. Our kitchen is in the midst of being upgraded by us and the new sheetrock had just been taped. When I phoned Samsung to tell them of the damaged wall and the dent in the front of the fridge Samsung informed me that we would have to turn the fridge away and go after the delivery company ourselves for the damage to the wall. I am not shocked by this response from Samsung as they have shown no care for their customer through this entire process. We kept the fridge of course because who would turn away a fridge after two months of been without one?

I had purchased a new appliance in August each one was defective. I had a total of 4: tried 2 Samsungs and 2 LGs both same models. Finally, demanded my money back from PC Richards after losing over a $1,000 in food, the time I spent on the telephone with PC Richards and of course their incompetent service technician appointments! In the end went to Lowe's purchased a Whirlpool and have not had any problems with it. PC Richards either sells defective merchandise or their installers do not know how to carry these machines upstairs. Lowe's carried it into my house without using a dolly to get it up the stairs. So it is either the way they delivered it or it is their merchandise. No matter how I see it, it is definitely a PC Richards issue.

We have had this fridge only 2 years (but past the 1 year warranty).

We thought it was odd, but just defrosted, and ice maker would start working again. This happened about every 6 months... we just thought WE were doing something wrong. Well, I contacted Samsung... even went to the president's office, after looking online and seeing that this was a KNOWN DEFECT. Samsung basically told us to kick rocks.

We paid for a repair guy, and he TOLD US this was a known issue/recall and that some people were getting the repair covered. We have to pay $330 to fix it, and Samsung doesn't care... after spending $3k on a fridge, you dont expect an issue within 6 months. After the office of the president responded telling me, "Too bad, you are out of warranty," I will warn EVERYONE everywhere. I will never purchase a Samsung appliance again. Samsung refrigerator rf217 - Purchased it from Sears along with service contract. Within weeks the veg containers filled with water- have had the repair service here at least 9 times for same issue. It's now near the limit of coverage and the water is still coming into the veg area and icing up. The repair service admits that the Samsung ref is trouble. I will also add that there is a crack in the plastic in the area where the two top doors meet. Can find no cause for this other than poor quality. The issues were the vent blocked so can't breathe. This happened till the entire inside back panel was replaced- build up of frost in freezer told door didn't close properly the- that the ref wasn't balanced enough somewhere. There is a list of excuses. Bottom line Samsung knew of the issue. Just read the booklet that comes with the product and the number of times they mention water build up. It's cheaper for them to rewrite the book than correct the problem.

UPDATE ON 05/28/2018: It's near the end of the 5 year service contract - the same problems have never been removed - tipping back replacing fan - wires - back panel etc. The service was here twice this month. Called today. Went through all the repairs for same issue. Sabrina said she would put me on hold then came back. Said she couldn't hear me and hung up -- I called back. Went over everything again with a man this time. He informed me that the tech had to come to repair and if the tech felt it couldn't be fixed then they would replace. Was told I could file a replacement for lost food.

I have had it with stalling the ice and water in the veg containers has gone on from the time I bought the thing to present and it's still not fixed. Still filling with water ice and rotting the food and now I am told that the tech must attempt to fix the problem before they will replace it. Am fed up with Sears Samsung and the quality of home appliances - doesn't even rate one star. Would rate it a minus if I could so it's one star and that's even too much.

Samsung initially informed us that the refrigerator was not repairable and asked for us to submit our receipt for replacement or refund. After submitting our receipt we were then informed Samsung needed more pictures of the refrigerator. They told us that the damage was corroded lines due to sulfur in the air. We have never had a problem with sulfur in our home.

They said this is an environmental issue and not covered under warranty. The repair company even said that it is unusual to see this corrosion so soon and in our direct area. The lines on the refrigerator should have never corroded that bad in 15 months. We have never had a problem with corrosion on things we have had for years. Even with this information Samsung said they are standing by their claim and will do nothing to help us. We now have a 15 month old piece of junk Samsung refrigerator.

Unfortunately, I fell in love with its center drawer and purchased a 4-door Samsung Refrigerator Freezer 3 and a half years ago, for $3200.00, without doing proper research. The model is RF24FSEDBSR and was manufactured in Sept of 2014. I still love the center drawer, but it is not enough to make up for the rest of the appliance. This is a prime example of a company that thinks highly of itself but doesn't care that it sells absolute junk. The number of problems and repairs for the ice maker, add up to this being the worst purchase I have ever made and that is saying something. I have put up with months and months of temporary fixes, thawing with hairdryers, mopping up pooling water on the floor of the refrigerator section and just doing without ice.

Recently, I have had 3 service calls for the ice maker. The ice maker freezes solid and won't dispense ice. Then, I need to move all my refrigerated food to a cooler and my frozen food to the outside freezer; turn off the entire unit for 2 days, with both doors propped open; and put an air circulator/warmer inside, just so the repairman can pry the completely frozen icemaker out without cracking the wall of the refrigerator. On the last service call, he replaced the entire ice maker for about $550.00. My total out of pocket for repairs and service is about $850.00. I fully expect that amount to grow. Now, it sort of works, but makes very little ice, (which will not be enough with summer coming).

I cannot get cubed ice, just crushed ice; there is water dripping down the front of the refrigerator and it is a constant source of aggravation. Samsung wasn't sympathetic or helpful when I talked with them, and they suggested that I should have purchased their 5-year Samsung Service Agreement for $1750.00 when I had a chance. Really? They were supposed to call me back (within 24 hours) 10 months ago, and I'm still waiting. Complete waste of time, money, effort, energy and resources. "Do not ever buy a Samsung refrigerator because they are expensive junk", was the advice of my repair person, who has owned an appliance repair business for many years. I could have saved myself lots of frustration, and money, if I had done my research.

And we're not sure the new fan will work - the serial numbers on our fan show that it's no longer available, and Samsung doesn't have replacements. We had to go with a third party and hope their best guess is right. In the meantime our food is in coolers for two days, and the ** of it is that I'm pretty sure that the best case scenario is that this fan will fit, and in a few months it will all freeze solid and lock up and burn the fan out again.

I'm ready to throw in the towel, but we spent a couple of grand on this (considerable for a not-wealthy family) and my husband wants to keep trying. It would be so bad but apparently this has been going for almost a decade. I'm pissed off at Samsung for still putting out this shoddy product, as well as Lowe's for continuing to see it. Every week, there is condensation on shelves and all foods reach room temperature. In the freezer all the ice and other frozen foods melt. About 24-48hrs later the fridge starts working again and freezes the melted ice in the bucket again so it becomes one large ice block. We have contacted Samsung (at least 20 times) to report the issue and they keep sending technician from Sydney Appliance Service to assess. We've had 5 visits from the technician and have shown him photos of the condensation, melted ice etc and explained it stops working randomly during the week. He has seen the large block of ice after all the ice cubes melt in the bucket.

It has now been 3 months, we've had 5 technician visit, we've made around 20 calls, have waited on hold for hours and spent a lot of money on food and the issue is still not resolved. Latest advice from Samsung is "as the issue is happening intermittently it's not a faulty fridge" and they won't replace it and will send a technician to assess again. I give Samsung a one star simply because there isn't a lower option. I have owned two Samsung refrigerators. The first I purchased about 9 or 10 years ago. It only lasted about 6 months and the compressor stopped working. I contacted Samsung and was advised the warranty at the time was a 6 month warranty and it would not be covered. I built a new home less than five years ago and as I got ready to purchase the appliances I had a family member that was going through a divorce that had new kitchen appliance set that he was looking to sell. The set was a stainless steel Samsung refrigerator, glass top stove, and a dishwasher. All of which had not been used but had been installed in his new home.

The Samsung refrigerator worked great all of maybe 6 months and the icemaker stopped working. I replaced it and the replacement worked maybe two months and it quit. I replaced that one and the third one worked less than a year and it then quit so I purchased a countertop icemaker and gave up on having one in the refrigerator. Then shortly after the third icemaker stopped it started pooling water under the deli tray that would run out and puddle on the floor. Shortly after that it started making a noise which was the fan hitting build up ice accumulating near the fan. I had to take the refrigerator apart and clear the ice. A short while later it froze up again and this time it burn up the fan motor because the ice also froze the fan. I ordered the parts, put it back together and less than two months later the freezer stopped working. All of these issues were not covered by warranty. When the freezer stopped I fixed it by replacing it with a new refrigerator/freezer.

The Samsung glass top stove, I have had to replace the glass top cause the original one busted. It busted after cooking a meal and the repairman advised me the top had an air bubble and as it was cooling off the bubble caused the glass to bust. The dishwasher I have had to pull out three times and replace parts in it. IF YOU WANT QUALITY STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG TRASH.

Don't buy a Samsung Refrigerator!!! Our Samsung has been the worst of worst. Two months after we bought a $3000.00 one the whole electric panel went out. Everything thawed out. They kept playing games about paying for the lost food. They never did reimburse us. Ours broke down 4 times in 2 years. We also had to replace both of the ice makers. One of them 3 times because the water leaks underneath it and freezes the mechanism that turns the ice out. Then when you try to get ice from the dispenser it cracks the ice maker and it has to be replaced. The water also leaks down in the inside of the refrigerator and runs under the storage bins and then on the floor when you open up the fridge. After replacing it 3 times we just don't use it.

Samsung does not stand behind their products. Even though our fridge was without doubt a lemon they never replaced it. They play constant games of lost paperwork and unbelievable stalls until you just give up and pay to have it fixed yourself. The problem is they can stall forever but you can't go without a fridge. I loved my beautiful Samsung when I first bought it and it worked fine for about a year. Then it started leaking brown gook from the inside of the refrigerator... could not figure out where it came from. I had a certified Samsung appliance man take a look at it and he charged me a hefty service fee after telling me he couldn't find anything wrong. He did tell me, as he was leaving, that I shouldn't open the refrigerator door too often since condensation could form. Really??? And where was the brown gook coming from? The leaking continued and at some point I noticed my food began spoiling... thought it was the summer heat and adjusted the refrigerator temperature. The spoiling continued and after way too long of a time period I eventually called out another Samsung repair man. He said the fan that circulated the cold air was shattered inside the unit and the brown gook was freon that was leaking out into the fridge.

The cost would be a minimum of $600.00 to $700.00 to repair it and he couldn't guarantee that there might be other issues and wouldn't know until he took everything apart. I called Samsung appliance service center and was told this problem would probably be considered under warranty and they would call me back in a few days. After waiting several weeks without hearing back from Samsung, a person from a call center out of the US did call and told me there would be no coverage at all.

I asked to speak to a manager and the person explained they were just a call center and there wasn't any manager... didn't have a number to give me where I could actually talk to someone with the ability to answer my questions. At this point I was stuck with either paying a ransom to get the fridge repaired or buy a new one. I chose to buy a Frigidaire and it is my dream refrigerator. I don't plan on ever purchasing another Samsung appliance in my lifetime. My experience with my Samsung refrigerator and their service department was beyond horrible and I do not recommend this brand, based on this experience.

This model I have was the worst engineered product that has been seen on the market. Samsung's have all the bells and whistles, great novel my useful designs but the quality is not up to the price asked. The repairman said they tried for three years to fix the ice buildup problem and finally got it right after three years. I find that I still see ice, though it has not stopped cooling but it feels like skating on thin ice and that it will break again at any given moment. JCPenney now has appliances and they are phasing out selling Samsung. The enameled on their stoves is so thin. As is the paint on the refrigerator.

I won't buy this brand again. The new features are always enticing with this brand but don't fall for it. By the way read about the problems And complaints before you read the glowing reviews about any appliance and always buy the extended warranty if you can't afford a big repair bill visit. Most appliances the repair person told me appliances need a repair in 1 1/2 years to 3 years. They just don't make them like they use to. And don't think high end and huge price is also an indication of quality, it just may be a status brand.

We purchased a Samsung refrigerator and it was the worst purchase we ever made. Period. Within a month the bottom shelf cracked and they had the nerve to tell us that we placed a heavy object on it which we did not! After four and a half to 5 years of use the condenser quit which was very early for refrigerator. Typically they last at least 10 years. We had to buy a brand new one after 5 years because the cost of fixing the condenser and filling it with more Freon would have been the same as buying a new one. Despite being rated high on Consumer Affairs, this refrigerator is the worst we've ever purchased and customer service is no better! In fact I know that there is a lawsuit out for the very same thing that we experienced. If I do not take the time to line up the protruding piece, and close in proper order, it seems closed, but isn’t. Also, the ice maker is garbage. Always leaking. There is a calcium stain all the way down the front. Ice is always crushed, even if I select cubed. It takes forever to fill a glass of ice. Well at least it’s still semi operational. They could not and said we would receive a new unit in 48 hours. After no contact in 48 hrs. I called and they had to do the paperwork. After calling several times for updates. They decided to refund our money because they did not have the same unit.

It has been over a month since the unit stopped working. We are now waiting for our refund. They say it takes between 7 to 14 days but the Samsung Reps. say that's not true. They wait the full 14 days to refund the money. So if your fridge stops working please check your Warranty that comes with the fridge even if you don't have a store warranty. I've had my Samsung Refrigerator for four months and it works great. I bought a model that has an ice maker that does not dispense the ice through the door. To me it looks better and it's one less thing to worry about breaking.
