This is by far the worst investment I’ve ever made. The ice maker constantly freezes over, the temp in the fridge is higher than it states on the screen, and it leaked all the time. The worst part is the ice bucket broke and there were pieces of plastic in my ice AND mouth. The repairmen replaces the ice maker but not the bucket. He told me to tape it. I couldn’t believe my ears.

Samsung knows their refrigerators have a defective ice maker design causing them to freeze over and stop working. They've refused to rectify this. Additionally Samsung refrigerators only keep food cold if they are filled to only 2/3 capacity. They know this defect and continue to manufacture them. I will never own another Samsung refrigerator.

We purchased Samsung appliances for our kitchen. I would suggest sticking to their electronics instead of appliances. I have had issues with all of my appliances but the worst is the refrigerator icemaker. The icemaker freezes and stops making ice. I also have water leaking into my refrigerator. This is so frustrating and should not happen. This is a manufactures defect! I should’ve never purchased Samsung!

I’ve had my fridge for about 8 years and so far have not had any major problems with the fridge. The only thing that had to be repaired was the ice maker that kept getting jammed. The fridge is a 4 door bottom freezer. It is a large capacity fridge. I have two teenage boys that eat a lot so the fridge is large enough to hold a lot of food and large freezer. I really like the large capacity since that is what I was initially looking for.

Samsung top freezer RT21M62135R, nominally 21 cubic feet, is fairly capacious. Unfortunately the lighting in the refrigerator section is front mounted and everything in the rear disappears into the shadows - keep a flashlight handy. The freezer also has a light, something my prior refrigerator did not have. I really like the slide and reach shelf for deli type items - very convenient. The door storage is a bit inflexible. I ordered the model without an ice maker, they shipped it to me anyway despite my attempt to stop it, which they ignored (customer service in the US is impossible to contact - they switched me to Indonesia (sic)! (Consider that I bought this model for energy efficiency, then they ship something I do not want - pure waste.) Even though they took the door off, the delivery service still managed to put eight dents in the door - too easy to dent.

Lots of people have gotten sick from poor temps, the products have caused major damage to homes, and the company refuses to deal with it..

The ice maker failed at 18 months and has been replaced 3 times and still does not work. The door dispenser drips water all day and runs down the front of the lower 2 doors. Often the refrigerator is only 45 degrees but the door temp says everything is ok at 34! There is no customer service! All they do is deny the defect that is well documented in their service bulletins from 2007.

Read my title and that should give you an idea of how great my Samsung product isn’t. I sadly own a Samsung French door refrigerator. I've had it for a year and no less than seven problems with it. Giant buzzing noises, Ice forming under drawers so you can’t open them, trays in the doors falling out and smashing to the ground together with all my salad dressings etc ... The writing on the Inside of the fridge wiping off the day I got it... The dividers held in place with sticky tape! The shelves not fitting properly ... It’s the worst made and designed fridge ever. But worst of all you can’t clean under some of the glass ... You just can’t. With much difficulty (Takes two people) you can take the section out but you still can’t clean under the glass. So the only thing you can do is soak your fridge In the bath.
It’s seriously appalling. Appalling - and the way Samsung says there’s nothing they can do ... is the stuff of nightmares- It’s insane making. I have green slime under the glass of my fridge- that you can’t clean - It’s a health hazard and Samsung don’t care. They called the problem cosmetic. My health and cleanliness of where I store my food is not cosmetic. As soon as I can get rid of this poorly / cheaply made badly designed fridge I will. Do not buy this product. In fact judging how it’s taken me a Year to get anything done anything- I would never ever buy Samsung again either.

Cold foods stay cold is the only positive thing I have to say. Never again.

Samsung’s refrigerators are nothing but disappointment. Their refrigerators are not cheap, so you would think you get what you pay for... but you’re paying for a fridge that doesn’t cool the food and when it is it is never the posted temperature. This fridge will not only cost you thousands to purchase, but then thousands in lost food due to spoilage and hundreds if not thousands in repairs. Samsung’s warranty and customer service are jokes, and neither can help in rectifying their wrongdoings! They have been selling the same faulty design in all their refrigerators since 2006 despite the class action suit against them for their faulty design. They will tell you it’s a rare issue... it is not. There is a service bulletin out about it. They’re aware. They just don’t care.
Last week my Samsung “fridge” caused mold in my toddler's cup due to improper cooling, this is how I discovered (for the 3rd time) it stopped cooling once again... despite it reading a temperature of 38*... not cooling while displaying a temp that indicates it is, is causing unsafe food temps that have made people sick! They don’t care. There is a reason there is an FB group of over 25,000 asking for a recall on all Samsung refrigerators. If you make it through the warranty period without issues, rest assured your product will break in 1 month's time. Don’t buy Samsung. It is nothing but pretty TRASH!

The freezer of the "Dual Cool" mechanism quit working, and the technician said it would cost more than the fridge to fix. The situation is so bad that Samsung is facing a class action lawsuit. In the meantime my 1987 refrigerator is humming away in the garage and reliably making ice. The reliability is so bad that Koreans are posting complaints that Samsung (a Korean company) is embarrassing Koreans by not making it clear the fridge is a Chinese product. If you dont want to read the review, just know that never buy Samsung Refrigerators which are high end Models as they dont have the support team or the resources to sort out any problem, remember it's more a warning to the discerning buyers rather than a review.
So to cut the story short, we bought a Samsung french door refrigerator with Ice Maker in September 2017. Towards the end of 2018 the Ice maker stopped working and sadly after 7 complaints and paying almost close to INR 12000.00, we are still sitting with the same problem and no one now responds as they dont know what is the problem. We have knocked on all doors but to no avail and still no one bothers to understand the problem. "Sir, we have escalated the problem to the highest level," is the standard response is basically inaction post that.
Guys, the quality for a high end refrigerator is really bad, there are a number of recurring problems which are magnified by the fact Samsung has no support or product training for its field service personnel for high end models so please refrain. Worked fine until year 6. Then fan noise and icing. This is the third time, second time in 3 months. I have turned off the water pipe for the past month. Today I'm following YouTube info but getting stuck on the removal of the lower evaporator cover in the icebox drawer. To do a repair by the way you need Philips Screwdriver and a 10 mm socket wrench (for drawer bolts, could just use a shifting spanner). I'll update later with some images...

We have had this fridge for less than 3 years, as early as 6 months from when we bought it the ice maker would stop working and the fan would get loud, after having a service tech out he said it was a common issue with these as they constantly do this, so I went on line and found numerous people with the french door and ice maker combo have the same issue--Seems like a design flaw, but Samsung doesnt seem to do anything about it. So usually once every 6-8 months I would have to dump the entire fridge/freezer (we keep an old fridge in the basement essentially to allow for this) and unplug the fridge and allow it to thaw out overnight, then I remove the back panel of the fridge (inside) and thaw the cooling unit out with a hair dryer, re-assemble it and we are good to go.
The last year we seem to be needing to do this every 2-3 months, I had to do it tonight after 5 weeks--This is ridiculous. My wife said, "Wow you are getting really fast at taking this apart and thawing out the cooling unit"--While this was meant as a compliment, it's kind of crazy that I need to become "fast or good" at thawing out the fridge--The one in the basement that's 15 years old I never have to touch--The thing is we own a Kitchen cabinet business and we always have to recommend appliances to clients, guess what we DO NOT recommend to them, 1) samsung appliances in general (just replaces 4 year old samsung washer/dryer set) (2) fridges with ice makers. So please do your self a favour and do not buy this fridge. Samsung needs to stop making the RF25HMEDBSR OR ANY UNIT SIMILAR AS IT'S A PIECE OF JUNK.

It was extremely difficult to open and when we did it was jammed with ice cubes and ice on the side and frozen ice on the bottom. Had to use a ice pick and hot water to clear it out. When we looked online we found many complaints regarding the same issue. Now EVERY 2 weeks it freezes up. It takes 18 hours to get ice again after I spend 30 minutes clearing and cleaning it out. The amount of ice it produces is very small. I regret this purchase. Don’t buy it unless you don’t need ice.

We bought this Samsung RF2HTED counter-depth refrigerator about 2 years ago from Lowe's and initially were very satisfied with the features. Within a few weeks, however, the icemaker stopped dispensing ice. Tried all the troubleshooting steps in the manual, still no ice. I then removed the front of the icemaker (no small feat, see comments further on). The side of the icemaker was completely packed up with a large glob of ice. I defrosted this with a hairdryer and the icemaker again worked. Two weeks later, same problem, and get out the hairdryer. Every two weeks the icemaker packs up and has to be defrosted.
We were in Lowe's for a different matter but stopped by the appliance department and engaged the person who sold us the refrigerator on the issue with our Samsung. He said this was a common complaint with Samsungs in general and that Samsung had been working on a solution for a while. Seems the icemaking unit is poorly insulated from the refrigerator section in which it's located, so humidity seeps in and causes the icemaker to freeze up. To date, according to the salesman, Samsung has yet to come up with a solution (another issue - if Lowe's knew this to be the case, why did they not advise potential purchasers of this problem?).
In addition to the freezing up issue, the front of the icemaker unit is almost impossible to remove, even using the removal method stated in the manual. The icemaker issue makes this refrigerator next to worthless, and since to my knowledge Samsung has yet to correct the problem, it's a question of poor engineering foisted on an unsuspecting public. This refrigerator is a poorly designed piece of junk and so best avoided. Based on my experience with this product, I would never even consider buying another Samsung refrigerator.

I purchased a refrigerator for my daughter's first home. A little pricey, but due to the Samsung name, I made the investment. 2 weeks after it was received, it was no longer cooling or freezing. There was over $300 in groceries that went to waste, and it took us 3 days just to get someone on the phone to schedule a service call. When someone came out to service, they said there is a new cooling system in the refrigerator and no one at their company is trained to fix it. After contacting Samsung again, they stated there is, in fact, no one in the entire geographic area who can fix it. After 2 hours on hold, they agreed to exchange, which they state is a "process," and that process will take up to 5 business days.
Then, we have to wait on shipment and set up. So, they have nearly $2000 for a refrigerator that has sat idle more than it has worked, and we are out an additional $300 in food. When I asked for a more immediate resolution- like a refund- I was told they could not resolve the issue today due to their "process." I requested to speak with someone who COULD resolve my issue today and waited on hold another 1/2 hour. I was told the manager would call me back within 24 hours. I doubt it.... Moving on to the AG and BBB.

We had to keep a towel on the drip tray to keep the water from trickling down the fridge. Samsung refused to cover the repair because it was just out of warranty.
The service repair shop referred to us by Samsung, charged $320 total for the ice maker part that costs $110 with shipping on Samsung's site. The repair man would give us a window of time and then not call us back. I had to reach out to him every time and 1/2 the total payment was required upfront. Another friend of ours has the same fridge and purchased it right before we got ours and their motor went out a year after owning it. Only then does it decide whether or not the refrigerator part will keep cooling--usually it takes a few hours.
We have had it with Samsung. Each time we called Samsung and it took a week for them even to call back, and then to tell us they didn't have a service person in our area. We are getting rid of this refrigerator. We had it for four years at our second home, so that we only used it 6 months each year. I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator 4 years ago. The Ice maker has never worked correctly but we have lived with that. Last week the refrigerator quit working. I called their technical support line and talked to a lady who had me run through several steps to try and correct the problem. The number 84 and letter C came up on the panel and she immediately told me the compressor was bad. She said it is under warranty and I will contact one of our service centers who will get in contact with you to set up a appointment. It was a Saturday and she said it would be Monday before she could reach them.
The service center did call me and the quickest they could come was 4 days later. We were having to throw food away because it was spoiling. We were having to eat out because we couldn't store food. I went and bought a big ice chest so we could keep lunch meats to make sandwiches. I had to buy ice every day to keep things cold. Finally after 6 days without a refrigerator the service tech came out. He had me turn on the unit and said yes it is the compressor and he would have to order one. I asked him why he had not ordered one when Samsung notified his company of the problem. He said Samsung would not let his company do that. He had to verify the problem report it back to Samsung and then he could order one. I asked him how long that was going to take. He said since it was Thursday his company would not receive it until the following week.
He said once they got it they would set up a appointment with me. I called Samsung because I didn't believe they would send a tech out without the parts to verify what the computer on the refrigerator was telling them. They told me that was correct. I said I wanted the parts shipped overnight so I was not having to wait another week without a refrigerator. They said that is impossible so I asked to talk to a supervisor. I talked to Eric, then Joshue, then Sagurnino, and finally Ramon. Each one said it was impossible to ship overnight as that was a different department and they didn't have a way to contact them. I told them it was a poor way to run a company and they agreed but said their was nothing they could do.
Why would a company spend all the money they do on research and development and then not put any faith in their equipment? And why have a technical support team that can't think outside the box to help a customer with a serious problem. As of this writing I am going through another weekend without a refrigerator. I will never buy another Samsung product but I am sure they don't care because they don't care about their customers.

Samsung has great TVs... That is all!!!! My refrigerator is a Samsung counter depth freezer drawer on the bottom and meat cheese drawer in the middle. 1. In order to change the water filter you need to turn off the water to the fridge; that means pulling it out of the wall pocket every six months minimum.. Joke.. 2. The veggie storage drawers trap food and mold. 3. It is the cheapest refrigerator by far; drawers in freezer come off track all the time.. 4. Freezer is a bottomless pit. 5. It doesn't fit anything.. Be very aware. The dishwasher rinse aid piece broke and the technician said I have to be more gentle.. How about I've never broken one in my 50 years of buying dishwashers; they usually have a slide door instead of a cheap piece of plastic..
The stove, you lean up against it to put something away and the gas goes on and you don't even realize it.. The clothes washing machine traps hair in the drain of the door; constantly removing debris.. Lastly, the dryer worst lint drawer every, you have to pull it out and pry it apart every time to clean it. Stick with TVs SAMSUNG.. Go for GE Profiles or Whirlpool... Stay away from SAMSUNG!!!

Purchased Samsung Black Stainless French Door - bottom freezer on 6/10/17. Freezer stopped working in 4/2019. Samsung said they would do a 1 X free parts - I would have to pay labor (or vice versa). Warranty was up (less than 2 years since purchase). They entered a wrong phone on service request - not just a wrong number but something made up like: 12345678 which cancelled my appointment because service provider could not reach me. Called them back and they told me they were sorry and because of this they would also pay both the labor and parts.
Meanwhile I had researched what could have been wrong and found quite a few google answers that people experienced same thing and it was the "evaporator motor". I relayed that to service provider so if they brought that part it would be fixed sooner than later. (Side note at this point we also had to buy a freezer so all the food we stocked up on during pandemic didn't end up in the garbage). They fixed it.
Several months later both the refrigerator and freezer stopped working. I called Samsung and immediately was told I would have to pay for repair. I questioned it ONLY. But was prepared to pay the $99 for a diagnostic. They put in service ticket and then noticed days later it was cancelled? I called them and they said we cancelled it because you refused to pay. I never refused to pay?!
I ended up called the service provider - they sorted it out and I paid them $99 for house call. They diagnosed it as needing some kind of sealer and refrigerant and Samsung has lengthened the time of the warranty of that particular problem (probably must be an ongoing issue). They had to come back a week later. I was also told - it may or may not work. Sure enough end of May freezer died. Service provider could not come out until the 11th of June. Beginning of beginning of June 2020 refrigerator died as well. Had to throw out all perishables. So we got less than 3 years use. One correction - I communicated with Samsung through their CHAT option. I ended up cancelling the appointment today 6/9/20 and taking the loss and ordering a different brand that won't be delivered until 7/13/20. Horrible experience with this refrigerator. Since we've been put in this position, we're forced to spend money we don't have on another refrigerator. Try finding a refrigerator during a Pandemic while riots are taking place. It seems impossible but we must have a refrigerator. The cheapest we can find is an apartment size for almost $400.00. We can't afford this & I'm sure Asurion won't reimburse us for the money we have to spend for a back up fridge.

Samsung knows of a faulty design on the icemakers of their refrigerators yet refuses to acknowledge and make it right for their customers. There is currently an open class action lawsuit for this problem, yet Samsung customer service wants to charge its customers to send technicians out to repair knowing that the icemaker will become faulty again. I am very dissatisfied with Samsung products and will not be purchasing or referring their product again.

We have a very bad experience with the service of Samsung Refrigerator. It took nearly a week for them to visit our place to check on the complaint made. We had to follow with the service centre every day and request for a call back from the supervisor. The reason for the delay was lockdown. We were already on phase 4 of lockdown and most of the technicians had started moving around. They checked on our refrigerator and was told the problem could be either with the compressor or the inverter board and that they have to place an order for it and it will take 3 days...
They finally came after 4 days and they said both and the board had to be replaced. It worked and the technician hardly stepped out and the same problem came up. We tried contacting the technician ..who said he cant come back immediately and he came the following day and said there was a problem with the compressor again... Mind you.. it was a new compressor ...and again they have to place another order and it will take another 3 days. The problem is they will not answer your calls nor will they update you on what's happening.
The call center is pathetic. I have been calling them for the last 2 days requesting that we need to speak the supervisor. They say they will arrange for a callback but no one calls. Till now I have not received any call from them. Product may be good but if the service is bad.... We will never want to recommend this brand to anyone... Very poor response and poor service. Higher authorities need to check on this and address this issue immediately especially when there is so much competition. We have been without a refrigerator in this peak summer for nearly 2 weeks now. Dont know how long more we have to wait..??

Numerous efforts have been made to stop the refrigerator from leaking all over the floor. Parts replaced several time$$$. Samsung has no interest in correcting this. Now, the leaking appears to have been corrected (time will tell). The new problem is failure of temperatures to set/hold for both the freezer and the refrigerator! Refrigerator is at 61 degrees! Should be at 38 degrees! Freezer was at 28 and should be at -2. Perform power reset...no change. Samsung has refused to do anything even though it a clearly known issue - just look at the complaints all over the internet! Nothing has happened (power outages, relocation, ...nothing) to cause these problems.

Absolutely the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned and I made the mistake of buying a refrigerator from them twice. First refrigerator had issues with the ice maker the first year. Got that resolved.... maybe? We moved out of that house so who knows what the new owners had to deal with after we left. Bought another Samsung for the new house. Biggest mistake ever.
Again, ice maker down in the first year. Had their awful Service Quick service out twice to get that fixed. Then the entire refrigerator dies a year later. Condenser just gives out. It's still under warranty so they try to fix it and fail miserably. Tech burns a whole in my floor while using a blow torch. That nonsense of trying to fix it went on for two weeks. Now they are supposed to fix the floor and bring out a new refrigerator. We are six weeks into this mess and still no refrigerator. I've been lied to repeatedly about the process and how long it will take. They've put information in wrong, further delaying the process. It's completely ridiculous and they never do anything to expedite the service and make it right. Pandemic has been used an excuse multiple times which is total BS since they are essential and never closed and neither has the trucking company. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE.

Been bounced between Home Depot where we bought it and Samsung customer service where everyone is called manager but no one is actually in customer service.
There was a brief call with the company who is going to repair it under contract but they are not really interested in doing the repair work any time soon. You know everyone has back up fridges and that is what was suggested. Well if I have to get a back up fridge then why wouldn't I just replace this piece of garbage with one that works the way it should and just not get Samsung products? Big regrets, Samsung appliances are terrible. Purchased a 28 ft.³ Samsung French door refrigerator at Home Depot in 2015, within a year started having trouble with the icemaker. It freezes over, Samsung solution is to defrost it. I’ve done that for years. Now it’s getting worse, I used to be able to go a few months. Now can barely go a few weeks. It is an extreme inconvenience and definitely not something I expected out of a refrigerator that costs as much as this one. My only advice AVOID SAMSUNG unless you enjoy headaches & shady business ethics - oh and junk appliances!! This is a design defect and Samsung knows this yet will not recall these big hunks of junk. I did receive a refrigerator which causes food spoilage, does not do what it is supposed to and requires me to break ice away on a continuous basis. I require refrigerated medication to keep me alive. My disability makes breaking the ice away difficult and laborious.
I bought the refrigerator from HHGregg which closed its doors. They came out twice to repair this same defect. I was not aware that the issue was a known defect until recently and I would like Samsung to be held accountable in cost for repairing this defect in their product. Keep in mind, we paid $2,000.00 for this appliance. If you Google this fridge, you will see that every person who has ever owned one has had water leaking and drain line issues. We were no exception.
After about 2 years of ownership the fridge began to leak water at the front left hand corner. We called our serviceman and were told this happens with every single one of these. We were instructed to thaw it out with a hairdryer! When that did not solve the issue, we were instructed to completely empty the fridge, defrost it for at least 24 hours, and then turn it back on. Each remedy worked for a time, then same issue would pop up again. We limped it along for two years, with the problem reoccurring more and more frequently.
Finally, we had to thaw it about every day, and rather than loose our food, we bought a new fridge. We were told to contact Samsung, and they tried to say that we did not have the properly fridge "unleveled" (it was professionally installed), and offered to repair it at our cost. Not only did they say no, but when I asked for the name/number of a manager or supervisor I was told there weren't any for me to speak to. The unit I have has well know defects for which there are no solutions. Ice freezing on the coils, under the crisper, and water leaking on the floor under and around the unit. Refunds have been given to many others with products -some even older than mine. Samsung has had these issues for many years, in fact ConsumerAffairs published a report in 2009 which speaks to these issues, obviously still ongoing. https://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2009/08/samsung_settlement.html#
It is unfortunate that Samsung has not improved the product, it is also unfortunate and regrettable that they won't apply the same level of service and attention to each case. Seeing so many others who have attained refunds (even posting pictures of the checks) while I am repeatedly told no is disheartening. I will do a lot of research and think very carefully before buying another Samsung product and I would strongly suggest others do the same, regardless of price/discount.

I have a RFG29 Samsung French Door Refrigerator that is about 7-8 years old and no longer within warranty. We started having ice build up under the large slide-out crisper drawer that hindered getting the drawer to slide out. Called the Samsung US for help and the customer service person said it needed to be level - they explained when the screw down levels in front touched the floor, it was level. Of course that didn't work, so called back on a Thursday and another representative told me how to identify the error code on the control panel - that indicated a freezer evaporator defrost system failure. The rep then set me up with an afternoon service appointment for following Monday, and the service company would contact me to confirm the appointment. Was also told that a flat $120 fee would need to be prepaid.
The repair service company called the next day and said their first available appointment time was the following Thursday between 1:00 and 5:00 - said the Samsung Customer service could only give me a preferred time, and not an actual appointment time since the local service company controlled their schedule. Also paid them the $120 fee via credit card.
When Thursday afternoon came, I heard nothing and called Samsung Customer Service to find out what was going on. The Customer Service Rep checked and found that the first repair service had transferred the repair ticket to another repair service who quit doing business with Samsung the day before my scheduled service, and my ticket was transferred to a third repair service. The Rep gave me their name and number, and said they should contact me to schedule service. (I did check and found that my credit card had not been charged by the first repair service.) I checked reviews for the third repair service, and saw they were generally bad.
I called a non-factory authorized repair service the next day (Friday) who came out that afternoon and immediately told me the problem had a factory service repair kit which they would install for a flat fee (suspect it was cheaper than Samsung) and warranty it for a year (think Samsung "authorized" service was either 30 or maybe 90 days). They ordered the part, came back the following Monday and installed the factory repair kit, and things seem to work fine. I never heard from the third Samsung authorized repair service.
To top it off, I got a call from Samsung US Customer Service who wanted to know where I bought my refrigerator. Further, since Samsung could not provide a service tech, they would give us full credit toward a new replacement refrigerator. However, as my wife said, how are we supposed to shop for a refrigerator under COVID-19 lockdown? I told the Rep that I had the refrigerator repaired, and Samsung could pay the repair bill ($300) - the Rep then informed me since I didn't use an authorized Samsung repair service, Samsung would not pay for the repairs and also that I was no longer eligible for a replacement refrigerator! I politely (not) told her it would be a cold day in hell before I ever had another Samsung product. Subsequently, I received an email from Samsung canceling my repair ticket. At least I found what I consider a very good appliance repair shop locally.

We have had two awful experiences with Samsung. We bought our first Samsung French door fridge in 2016 and sometime while it was still under warranty I noticed the bottom of the left door was not sealing when it shut. Samsung didn't have any authorized service technicians in our area so they couldn't fix it. They told us we had to literally cut the cord and send them a picture of it so that we wouldn't be able to sell it or give it to someone else to keep using it. I told them I couldn't cut the cord as it's the only fridge we have and we gotta store food somewhere. They finally gave in and paid us the value of the fridge. Which we then took and per the agreement with Samsung, we had to buy another Samsung fridge, went to an authorized Samsung dealer that said he serves our area and bought a different model: RF28JBEDBSG/AA/08.
It worked great for a year or so until the warranty ran out and that's when we started having issues with the ice maker. It completely froze over, started leaking water out the hole when we tried getting ice and just completely stopped making ice. We called the dealer we had bought it from, they sent out their technicians to repair it and they like just some kids off the street who didn't have any training on such repairs. They took apart the ice maker and used a hair dryer to melt the iced over ice auger motor and ice maker assembly. While they were in the process of melting the ice inside the ice maker cabinet they heated it up too much, buckling the inside of the cabinet and melting a plastic tab up top at the back end of where the ice maker sits when it's installed. So now the ice maker doesn't fit correctly.
The technicians said they caulked the inside of the cabinet all the way around to seal it, but I could still see light coming through all along the left side. Couldn't really feel or see any caulk along the edge anywhere. They charged around $100 for this #repair! This only lasted for about 3-4 weeks and then started freezing up again. I called them again and they said they'd order us a replacement auger motor and ice maker for around $211. I brought it home and took apart my ice maker to replace it with the new parts they had just sold me. After all that hassle of taking it apart I find that they gave me the wrong ice maker! It was completely wrong. Way too short. I took it back and they gave me the right model ice maker. I then took apart my ice maker a second time and was able to replace it. This again only worked for a few weeks and then also started freezing over and doing what the original ice maker had done.
Ever since I've had to shut off the fridge, take the ice maker apart and thaw the whole ice maker and auger about every month and a half or two months. I've contacted Samsung multiple times and they only tell me that it's out of warranty, try to send out the same Samsung authorized shop's technicians to #repair it (which I refuse to let this shop ever touch my appliances again since they screwed me over every time I've dealt with them) or they give me a phone number to call Samsung to order parts to fix the ice maker. I am not spending any more of my own money on this piece of garbage and will never buy another Samsung refrigerator.

Upon moving into a new home, I purchased a 4-drawer Samsung refrigerator. It's beautiful and has a lot of cool features, but within 6 months the ice maker was frozen over. I contacted Samsung and they sent a repair person (there's only one in my area). He walked in and without even touching the refrigerator indicated that he could replace the parts, but Samsung hadn't done anything to truly fix the issues, so it would break in another 6 months. It didn't last that long! Within the next 8 months, it would break 3 more times. They finally agreed to replace it after the repair person refused the job the final time.
They led me through a long process of providing documentation and then indicated that they couldn't find a replacement (even though they are in all of the big box stores near me), so they offered me a refund. I accepted it and they led me on an even longer documentation process -- requested paperwork piece-by-piece (first the bill of sale, then a picture of the warranty information, then a scan of the sticker on the inside of the door...), indicate they didn't receive what I'd sent and ask for it to be sent again; send the wrong form and after I call, send me a new form, indicate they didn't receive it and ask for it again... This continued until I wrote an email to the Executive Vice President. I was assigned a designated contact, whose title indicated she was in the "President's Office," who was no better than their original customer service representatives. She only assisted when I initiated the contact and what was supposed to take 5-7 days, took over 2 weeks.
Upon getting my refund approval, my designated contact told that I'd receive two emails -- one asking for all of the information (ignore it, she said) and a second that would request my bank information to get a direct deposit. Amazingly, I'd receive the first email repeatedly, but never get the second one. I now have to wait for a check to be cut. I have already been in the process for two months and am now told that it will be an additional 2 weeks to get a check. As the check is too large to put through my bank's app, I will have to drive over an hour to the nearest branch. At the time I'm writing this, Florida has just entered a 30-day "stay-at-home order;" therefore, I will be unable to deposit it for a lengthy time. Buyer beware! While Samsung appliances look pretty (my dishwasher is also a disappointment!), they are poorly made and their warranty is painful and designed to discourage you from using it.

Now I don't know whether to trust it or go ahead and spend another $2000 (we're on social security and can't really afford it) or just hope and pray that we don't get sick from eating spoiled food if it goes out and comes back on while we are sleeping. We purchased a Samsung French Door fridge model number SRF644CDLS 18/11/2017. Six months after purchase the ice dispenser stopped working. We contacted Samsung support and they sent a repairman to fix the fridge and after a great deal of time waiting for a part the dispenser worked. 12 months later the ice dispenser ceased to work so we contacted Samsung once again and were directed to another repair firm who said the dispenser was faulty and we had to wait once again for a new part. By this time I was worried that our warranty would expire but the Samsung repairer assured me we would still be covered because it was always the same problem.
Now time has passed and we started to find small pieces of white plastic mixed with our ice, a month later and the dispenser has ceased working. We have contacted Samsung once again requesting a new fridge not a repair this time. Samsung said they would contact their assessor which they haven’t so we did. The assessor have said they would contact Samsung and get back to us again this did not eventuate. We feel we are right back at square one with a faulty fridge.

After 1 year we started to get frost on the back inside of fridge and also water would fill the bottom of my vegetable drawers. I put up with this until January 2020 when my husband googled the issues and realized the drain tube in the back of fridge was a faulty issue with this product. We thawed out the fridge for 2 days and installed the new drain tube thinking we had the issue resolved. March 5, 2020 I opened the fridge door only to discover the temperature in the fridge was 50 degrees so I pushed the power cool button. My fridge was only just 6 years old purchased in December 2013. It was stored in my shed, switched off, not used from Jan 2018 to Oct 2019 while we renovated. It just stopped working by not getting cold in January 2020 after being back in service for 4 months. I could not get a Samsung service agent to look at it. Finally a fridge mechanic that I found, advised me the fridge has failed to hold the refrigerant gas and even though the compressor was still working fine it cannot be repaired.
I called Samsung Australia several l times and also used chat, had to follow up 5 times and despite my case being "looked into" as it was outside warranty any help or warranty replacement was denied. Reading the ACA website I would class this as a major fault that could not be repaired. Had I have known that there was a chance that a major fault would occur in only 5 years an expensive $2000,00 fridge would be thrown in the rubbish then I would have never purchased this brand.
It's possible the pipework with the gas was poor quality material and can breakdown, something that never used to happen. A good quality fridge should last 10-15 years.. It has leaked all the poisonous R5 gas into the ozone layer and my kitchen and Samsung did not care. Samsung only offer a 2 year standard warranty on the new fridge products..So don't expect it to last much longer than that. Good looking fridge to attract you in, but I will never recommend you buy a Samsung fridge. Once bitten twice shy.

Barely makes any ice. But little by little the ice maker freezes up and the ice blocked up. So we started buying bagged ice. So to fix it, we unload the refrigerator and let the ice melt so we can get into the ice machine to remove the ice. This has happened multiple times even Christmas eve dinner.
So I researched the problem and realized there are thousands of people with the same problem along with a class action lawsuit for the same issue I'm having. Two issues with this refrigerator. First is the built in ice maker that freezes up on a regular basis because it is not sealed from the main refrigerator body and so therefore is prone to damp air from inside the main fridge. There is a built in "heater" to defrost this icemaker. It is difficult to get into the program as the sequence of buttons you have to push are very unresponsive. Once you do get it on you have to listen to exceptionally annoying warning bell for 20 minutes while it functions. And in our unit I find I have to defrost the icemaker every two to three months.
Second problem, and Samung's live support on the telephone was absolutely useless, is the bottom freezer drawer will regularly stop rolling open. That is to say my wife can only open the drawer about half way. Samsung's answer was the drawer was overloaded and something was getting stuck. Except the drawer was closer to empty than full. The rollers are not freezing either. The only solution I have found is to aggressively force the drawer to the full open position and then it will roll easily for a couple of months again. This is not a progressive problem as today it opens, tomorrow it will not.

Suppose to be covered. After working on and discussing with manager he said they won't warranty it, there are many leaks in copper tubing and corrosion on compression. Said it was due to environmental reasons maybe humidity. Crazy we built our house 30 years ago and put in a Sears Kenmore refrigerator. It lasted 27 years without any repairs, replaced because of color. No leaks. No corrosion. Was still working.
My house has copper tubing plumbing. I haven't had a leak in 30 years. Contacted Samsung customer service and get what I expected, nowhere.. The customer service rep said this is a unknown issue, https://www.samsung.com/in/support/home-appliances/resolving-drainage-issues-in-samsung-refrigerators/. So, I sent that link to customer service rep...
Then was told it's out of warranty. Yea, I know I only have it for 1 1/2 year and have learned that I will be repeating this process about every 1-2 years. Luckily, I am a handy person and do not need a service call. If you have a Samsung refrigerator plan on a defrost cycle every couple years when water pools up under the tray that's a good sign to start eating up the food.. Then plan a weekend to shut it down.... What I learned is to stay to the basics. A simple refrigerator without all the crap, ice trays work fine, the sink for water and 2 doors. Hate the knocking although that has improved a great deal after six months, and after they suggested I switch the Ice button to off - since I don't use it. It still Pops, Snapples and Cracks a bit but that is probably normal for most refrigerators. My main beef is the crisper drawers. Rather than be just one piece, the front of the crisper comes off to enable cleaning in the crack where the pieces join. (If it was only one piece, there would be no cracks to accumulate food bits.) Why they decided to build a crisper that needs to be disassembled and reassembled I can't fathom.
Anyway, one needs a screwdriver to pry open the thin plastic latches that keep it together. You guessed it! I broke one side of one of the latches and now I need to use bother hands when I pull it out to make sure I don't break the hinge on the other side. Normally, I would just buy a new drawer. An appliance repair company replaced the evaporator cover to create a new seal, and installed a new drain kit ($400), but only 3 1/2 weeks later the same problem occurred.

Do not buy Samsung refrigerators with bottom freezer. Our refrigerator (RF18HFENBSR/US) is 2 years old and leaking water in the bins and the bottom of the refrigerator section. I just called Samsung and they said that it is out of warranty despite the fact that many, many people are complaining that the refrigerator is defective. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT -- IT IS EXPENSIVE JUNK AND SAMSUNG WON'T FIX IT.

This Samsung twin cooling plus is the worst refrigerator ever! Every 5-6 months you have to shut down and defrost it, it freezes up like the refrigerators did back in the 50s! You have to take the whole back of the refrigerator apart to get the coil to defrost which is about 8-10hrs of defrosting! I would never recommend spending 1800.00 for this piece of garbage! They tell me that it is a common problem but offer no fixes! You think for the money spent they would help! But NO.

Very disappointing.... I didn't expect that bad customer service experience. They just don't care. Bought fridge on November 14 Directly from Samsung.com. Shipping company couldn't deliver, rescheduled 4 times. In the end they said.. they lost a fridge and don't know where it is and when is going to be delivered. Called Samsung - basically Samsung said: "We don't care if you cancel order." I cancel my order and I will never buy Samsung again... not a fridge... not a tv... and won't recommend Samsung to any of my friend/Family. Buy something else, NOT SAMSUNG. Order # **

Updated on 12/25/2019: So the second tech came at a cost of 130.00 to confirm the fridge was not working due to a broken compressor. Waited another week for the official Samsung repairmen with the new compressor. It's up and running again. Three weeks without a fridge as they dragged their feet to R&R a compressor. Not good. Will not buy Samsung again nor recommend it to you.
Original Review: Only after the first yr did I hook up the ice maker/ water dispenser. Kitchen remodel was on hold. But immediately it failed by continually icing up. The paint started to blister from rust around the bottom of the cut out. Out of warranty and out of mind by customer support. The handle of the freezer door broke within the first yr and I will give them credit for replacing the door face to repair that. Although it took 7 days to get tech support in Phx AZ. Now at 3 yrs I’m waiting for tech support for a closed unit fix (compressor). Waited 4 days for 1st tech to report that he was unauthorized to fix problem. That appointment was paid in full by Samsung Thank you. Now I’m waiting for another authorized tech company to diagnose the problem (2nd opinion?). That will cost ME $120. Up front. Not included in the compressor warranty.
So this tech company is not satisfied with the profit made from Samsung exclusive authorization (the customer) but insists on also touching the owner. Just read online of a class action suit pertaining to ice maker. One week out for that appointment so will update this review then. On another note be aware that cleaning the inside of these appliances is next to impossible (see You Tube by others).

My review mirrors all the others: Ice maker problems within couple months of purchase, water leakage problems follow, poor customer service, and repair persons said Samsung is worst refrig on the market.... We bought 3 Samsung products, they replaced the washing machine at 3 months which has been working great, but the dryer still has problems and the miserable refrig...

SAMSUNG BUYER BEWARE - Do not buy a Samsung refrigerator!! We have had nothing but trouble since we bought ours (model #RF263BEAESR) a few years ago. Usually people that right good reviews have only had their refrigerator for a month or two. Ours worked well for the first year and then the trouble began. The icemaker broke first (it costs four to five hundred dollars to replace it) and then the defrost sensor broke (two hundred and fifty dollars to replace it). Now they say maybe it's the fan - it's never ending. It's a very pretty refrigerator but that's about it. There is a class action lawsuit on the ice maker and the fan and defrost sensor will soon follow. We have had Samsung certified repairmen out six times and one of the repairmen said that there is a design flaw on the refrigerator and that we should expect to keep having someone out to put a band aide on the problem.
Samsung knows there is a design problem and they will do nothing to fix it. When we call Samsung they go through their written script and are worthless. We have escalated the matter and they always tell us that they will review our claims and get back to us in three to five days. They never call back. When we call them back they conveniently disconnect our call or they tell us that they can't hear us and they hang up. The Samsung call center is in the Dominican Republic. I felt I had to warn others before they made the same mistake we did in buying this horrible refrigerator. Do not buy a Samsung refrigerator, you will regret it if you do!

French door refrigerator with bottom freezer. At seven months old the freezer handle broke from the freezer door. This was from normal everyday use. So poorly designed. Samsung refused to stand behind their product, after all, they already had our money from the purchase. Hard to believe a major company wouldn't be embarrassed by their own substandard craftsmanship. Not the best way to build a brand. Plastic mounts built into the door snapped off from simply opening it. Never again will I purchase anything with the Samsung name.

We purchased a French Door Rf323TEDBSR from Lowe's. The top ice maker would not give us cubed ice. We had repairmen come out and try to fix it. After 22 hours on multiple phone calls to Samsung, Lowe's replaced it at their cost. They replaced it with the same model, new in the box. The new one had the same problem. Samsung refused to replace the ice maker and said that's normal. We have to open the bottom drawer to get ice. When we have parties we have to explain about how the top ice maker does not work. Because I worked a full time job and we have three kids, I ran out of energy to take off work and to keep calling. At the time I did work at Lowe's, and it has cost Samsung a lot of business considering I worked in the appliance department. Also, I still tell people about our problems after 8 years. I have other friends that are also complaining about their refrigerators. That is why I decided to write this.

The ice maker allows ice to build up within the unit preventing ice from being made. Samsung will not stand behind it. Never buying Samsung again. Consumers be advised. Search Samsung Ice Maker Problems online.

Did a kitchen renovation and bought a stainless steel 33 inch Samsung rf197 fridge. 3 months later it starts leaking water into the vegetable trays. The fridge freezes up. Everything inside is frozen and ruined. Ice builds up and stops the fan. After defrosting numerous times again ruined everything. Ice in fridge section again builds up and fridge shuts down again ruined everything. Compressor stops working for fridge section freezer keeps working. I am now on a first name basis with the repairman. Compressor stops 1 week before 5 year warranty up on compressor. Have to fight with samsung for repair. 18 months later the second compressor has gone. Enough is enough. Moved my beautiful samsung to the curb (no marks on stainless steel) and bought a different brand.

We bought a Samsung Refrigerator, model RF260BEAESR, under 5 years ago. Its cooling system completely failed one night ruining the entire contents of the fridge and freezer. We are a family of 5 so it wasn't half full either. Since then there have been 3 repair attempts with each resulting in more part failures and more parts ordered. It produces a horrendous chemical/oil stench when plugged in and I can't imagine that's ok to breathe for my three children. It's been a month with no fridge and enough is enough. Just replace the thing already, admit it was a terrible product and let's move on.
DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS. All repair persons have said same thing, terribly made, they do not last, and they are a pain to deal with. Save yourself the headache and go with a different brand. Hopefully Lowe's will honor their warranty and replace the lemon already and do the right thing. That's why we bought the warranty and why they are offered, right????
