Samsung has a known problem with their twin cooling French door refrigerator, but refuses to help to make it right. Drain tubes on these units are undersized causing the ice maker to not work and water to leak out from under their freshness trap. We've now had two floods in our kitchen and no ice. Our appliance repair service was well aware of these problems. Our unit is 4 years old and no longer in warranty. The repair cost will be $800 to fix.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator side by side 5 years ago & my warranty ran out. I had a lot going on here like a tornado and a lot of stress. I'm very disappointed in this appliance. Only problems. Fix the ice maker and now the problem is water underneath and ice building up on floor of freezer. And no yesterday my refrigerator part isn't working and now I have to call someone ASAP before my food spoils. My last fridge lasted 10 years I went with Samsung because I heard good things and it wasn't cheap at all!!! Now it's going to cost a lot to repair and have someone come and check it out! After this fridge I don't think I will buy another product again. I called shortly after my warranty ended and they said they couldn't help me. I would have to pay. Just ridiculous, in 5 years, so not happy!!!

Samsung Two Sided Refrigerator (Model RS22HDHPNSR). Bought summer of 2015 at Best Buy. By early 2016, when trying to replace the water filter the first time, the filters didn't fit. The teeth of the locking system didn't even look the same. When I called to have it serviced, Samsung came out. Technician explained that the filter system has changed since the make of my fridge. He changed out the whole system as he said it should have been done before the purchase. Now today, April 2017, the filter literally popped out of the system, cracking the plastic filter head off and water gushing all over my kitchen floor. Two problems within less than two years for a fridge valued $2,000! There's no words for that!!

Let me start by saying they sent people here and did not fix it. They said they would return my money if we cut the cord and tore out the model numbers off the inside and we could dispose of the thing ourselves. Look on Youtube at the people who have a faulty design on those and they are still being sold in stores! They have a flimsy seal where ice comes down and getting air and ice is not solid but very mushy and I would tell anyone not to buy one and they can't fix it and then they ran out of repair people to send here after 4 and nobody could fix it! I hate Samsung and please do not buy one or you will regret it!

French door, small drawer with freezer in the bottom. It freezes up so you see frost thru the holes in the back of the refrigerator. Ice maker has stopped working. Hoped it was the filter so changed it. Worked a couple days and out again. Tech line no help. Obvious lack of knowledge. No repair company in our community. No call back within 48 hrs as told.

Do not buy a Samsung refrigerator. In July of 2013, I bought a Samsung refrigerator with a five year service warranty. After a simple request to the sales person at Pacific Sales I just want a dependable refrigerator. No gimmicks. She recommended Samsung. At the time she sold me a Samsung, there were already class action suits against Samsung for defective refrigerator design. Within 3 years, the Samsung failed in numerous ways.
By the numbers: 3 months without a dependable refrigerator. 3 trips to Pacific Sales to gently request the manager to get capable repair people to fix my refrigerator. 4 trips by service people to fix noise, then ice build up, the condensation (a swamp at the bottom of the refrigerator). 36 F. temperature of the inside claimed on the Samsung refrigerator control panel. 54 F. actual temperature of the inside as assessed by commercial laser thermometer, and the last service technician.
It is one problem to manufacture a defective product and not stand behind it, as happened here. It is a much bigger problem to make a deceptive thermometer which made me believe that my 2 bouts of food poisoning in 3 months must have been my fault. It was Samsung's fault. You cannot believe how much food spoiled over the 3 months. Samsung made many thousands of defective refrigerators and refused to stand behind them, which prompted class action suits. Do not buy a Samsung refrigerator.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator less than 4 years ago. Began having problems right away with cube vs. crushed ice. Then within first year ice maker would freeze up. Almost impossible to remove ice bin on ice maker when it freezes up. Have had it repaired twice for hefty service fees. The only solution now is to replace the ice maker with the same crappy design or purchase a new refrigerator which would never be a Samsung. I have contacted Samsung several times and they have never responded. I am extremely disappointed with this manufacturer.

Our fridge is 1 1/2 years old. The ice maker is not working (slushy cubes with unit freezing up). We did not buy the extended warranty, unfortunately, but it sounds like Samsung service is not great, even for those who do. Researched the issue and found that even by replacing the unit, it is likely to have the problem recur because it is a design flaw. Samsung will not guarantee the $500 repair with a new part will solve the problem beyond 90 days. We will not buy another Samsung product.

I own a Samsung Refrigerator model RT33FARZASP/TL, purchased two and half years ago. The refrigerator bears 10 years warranty which is not cooling at all. I lodged a complaint with Samsung customer care, they sent their representative who said gas of the refrigerator has leaked out and I have to pay for the visiting charges and gas filling charges plus parts. When I said, it's under warranty, he said warranty is only for compressor. I argued gas remains in the compressor only, and if it has leaked that means the compressor is not good but he didn't accept my argument and insisted to pay the cost of repair. Gas filling will be done by them on 30.04.2017. Earlier I had been using other brands, normally they work 10-15 years flawless.

If you find beating ice off the inside of your ice maker enjoyable, this is the fridge for you. At least once every two weeks you'll find yourself with a butter knife chipping the ice away. And, don't quit until you've bloodied at least 2 knuckles. I mean who doesn't like a little blood in their ice? But wait, there's more! The water dispenser leaks constantly so you get a nice build up of water mineral in the catch basin. It really adds color to your fridge. I would go ice my knuckles now, but we don't have any ice... :(

Bought this fridge in April 2016 had ice maker replaced November 2016. Ice maker sheet if ice could not use was replaced. Now April 2017 ice maker iced over. Call again for service was told my warranty was expired but they would give me extension to have it replaced again. I called April 17 for service. They set the appointment for 4-28. They text me the name of company ticket number and phone number. Well of course no one showed up or called. I called Samsung repair service, was told the service center cancelled my appointment after I took the day off work. Well anyone that has dealt with Samsung knows they make you so mad you end up hanging up on them. So now to file a complaint with the BBB. As I've seen all the complaints they can't do anything about it. Samsung should not be allowed to sell this junk.

My new Samsung French door refrigerator (RF18HFENBSP) that I purchased from Sears in not working. It is only 4 MONTHS OLD. I called Sears and they explained that I would have to deal directly with Samsung Service. I called the 800 number and was issued a ticket number. I was told that someone would call me in 24/48 hours. That did not happened so I called myself. After being on hold for over a half hour I finally spoke to person. It will be 5 days before a technician can come and see what is wrong. That will be OVER ONE WEEK that I do not have a refrigerator. I wish Sears would have told me that they do not service the Samsung appliances. Judging from the reviews that I read (wish I read them before my purchase) I would not recommend Samsung appliances. Somebody should protect consumers from companies like Samsung.

I bought the Samsung French Door Refrigerator RF28HFEDBWW/HDPP in 2014 and the ice maker hasn't worked right since. It started out that I researched refrigerators thoroughly before buying, went to Home Depot to order and thought everything was fine. They didn't tell me that the refrigerator I wanted didn't come in white, so they changed it to one that did. It was a completely different refrigerator! I didn't know this until my old broken one was on the truck and they started to install the new one. At that point I called Home Depot and they said, “We’ll return it.” I didn't have a refrigerator that worked, so against my better judgment I kept it thinking it's just a different color Samsung, it should be fine.
Within weeks we noticed the ice maker wasn't working correctly. It was dripping water, inside and outside down the door. We thought we weren't closing the doors correctly, so we just kept wiping up the spills. When I wiped the front of the door, the paint chipped off because water had gone under the paint, rusted the door, and created bubbles. At this point we also saw the ice was jamming in the tray, and we had to keep breaking up the ice.
To make a long story short, 3 years and at least 6 (soon to be 7) service calls later, the problem hasn't been fixed. We did buy the 5 year extended warranty from Home Depot, so thankfully all the parts, service and even a new refrigerator door have been covered. The problem is that 3 years later, it's still not fixed, and they have replaced everything that can be replaced. The last 2 service calls, were to document that there's nothing more that they can do, and they're insisting on another because they haven't documented things correctly.
To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. I'm disappointed in Samsung as a brand, and furious at Home Depot for the run around they've been giving me. I will continue to call and have them service this stupid refrigerator until I get a new one. I will keep jumping through their dang hoops, until I get a refrigerator that works, but I WILL NEVER purchase another Samsung or buy another large appliance from Home Depot.

I have a Samsung model RF28HDEDBSR/AA, serial #06EC43AFB01664x purchased from Best Buy. It has nothing to do with them though. Samsung is the problem... We just finished paying the darn refrigerator off... THANK GOD I have a service contract with a home warranty company since the ice maker is poorly designed! So far we have had 4 repairs, 2 replacements of the ice maker unit, special sealant added all around the unit and STILL, the ice comes out slushy and the unit leaks water constantly. I contacted Samsung and, much like all the other complaints I have read, I was told how sorry they were, but that since my unit is over their warranty, nothing could be done. She was willing to contact a repair person though everything is on me from there. Again, THANK GOD I have the home warranty...
The Samsung representative stated they had no recalls nor were aware of any issues... I wonder if they check sites like this! We LOVE the unit since it is 28 cubic feet of great space. The fatal flaw is the ice-maker and I would tell anyone looking to not buy it unless you don't mind constant pulling of the ice machine unit to remove ice build-up or put up with constant calls for repairs...

Purchased the Samsung french door refrigerator RF263BEAEWW/AA at Home Depot, I also purchased for $150 through Asurion with their extended 3 year warranty on 11/2/14. Beginning on 7/29/16 the ice maker began freezing up thus it would not make ice. I called Home Depot’s Claim number to begin the first of many claims through Asurion. They sent out Ben F. Login & Sons for the repair on 7/29/17. They replaced I think the Auger, they did not leave me any invoice. Then on 12/26/16 the ice maker stopped making ice again. On 12/28/16 A Plus Appliance was sent out and they replaced the ice maker motor and Auger. The Ice Maker stopped making ice again on 1/30/17, so MD Appliance came out on 2/2/17, to repair it by using caulking around the ice maker and proceeded to defrost the ice build-up with a blow dryer then left.
Then the Ice Maker stopped making ice again on 4/1/17, so Residential Tech Services Inc. came out on 4/3/17 to verify this fact as per Asurion's Lemon Law policy. Which states clearly the fact: After Three (3) service repairs have been completed on and individual product for the same breakdown or component and that product requires a fourth (4) repair for the same breakdown or component, as determined by us, we will replace it at our discretion. Residential Tech did not conduct any repair.
Then I called the manager on 4/3/17 of Asurion because I read about all the complaints on these defective Samsung Refrigerator's only to be told that this ice maker had to break down 4 times with the same exact problem before they would consider replacement as per their Lemon Law Policy. I argued that I have had 4 repairs done. This Manager claims that the December's repair had a defective part thus this repair was combined with January's repair not counting towards the so-called 4th time as per their Lemon Law Policy!
Then I proceeded to make yet another appointment on 4/14/17, and Tekniton came out to replace the Ice Maker and Auger Motor. He found that on the back of this refrigerator was full of water and leaking inside to the bottom inside the deli drawer and icing up. I then had to schedule yet another repair which took place 4/24/17. Tekniton came out again to replace the Stelian replaced ice maker and auger motor, also repaired water leak, defrost sensor and assy cover evap-ref; Aw1-12 angle-shelf. This tech. found the ice maker was starting to freeze up again but it is still making ice.
I called the Insurance company Asurion and spoke with the service manager who told me that on the 4th time, and it must be the same issue that they would send out yet another tech to verify that is indeed the same issue as before and they would consider a refund, replace etc. He lied and told me that each part is under warranty for 60-days. Meaning if this issue happens again within that 60-day time frame it doesn't count towards the 4th time. This is not stated in their policy. He claimed that the December repair had a defective part so that was not counted towards the 4th time. I'm still stuck with this defective refrigerator and each tech that has come out have all said the same thing. The ice makers are a manufacturing defect and can't be repaired.
This refrigerator due to its constant leaking is a potential fire hazard! If I end up having food spoilage or a fire because of this I will sue! Never Ever buy any appliance through Home Depot as they use Asurion as their extended warranty company and they are liars and horrible to deal with. Despite the fact that you should never ever buy anything Samsung Appliances as they are all nicely designed but have known defects and they continue to sell those defective appliances to the public! I have a horrible feeling that Home Depot or Asurion will make me be stuck with this crappy refrigerator after I spent $2,300 on it!

I bought this Samsung refrigerator RSG5FUPN three years ago and today I can testify that it was one of the worst shopping in my life (and I have over 40 years of experience with other refrigerators). It has many defects related to the quality of materials: A long crack (about 40 cm in length) was created in the inner wall of the freezer. At the bottom of the kiosk door, rust (corrosion) was spreading. The doors' color faded and yellowed. Internal shelves and covers are broken for no reason (during normal use). Drawers have places where dirt accumulates and cannot be cleaned.

We bought our 1st Samsung side-by-side fridge in late-2006. Just after the 1-yr warranty expired, the twin cooling system froze in the refrigerator side. Recommended appliance repairman literally took a knife to chip ice off of the equipment. Had to call a 2nd repairman who completed it but discovered the touch screen didn't work properly (again not covered by warranty). In 2014, bought a 2nd Samsung (4-door model). Had problem with touch screen but when repairman came, couldn't duplicate problem. Of course, after warranty expired, housing for water filter started leaving debris (white substance) in the filter & ice & water stopped. Repairman said housing was a faulty design & Samsung was working to correct the design. Then he said the touch screen wasn't working either.
After repeated calls to Samsung by me, the repairman & even my husband, the final conclusion from the manager was that they didn't have a record of the touch screen malfunctioning prior to warranty ending! So, like our 1st fridge (which we moved downstairs), we opted not to repair the touchscreen but did pay to replace the housing. This week I had repairman out for both fridges with identical problems as before. When filter housing was changed out in Sept-2015, it had not been redesigned. So... now $325 cost to repair housing & at least have confirmation it will be with redesigned part. Still leaving compromised touchscreen untouched. Cost to replace damaged parts on downstairs fridge = $505!
Now if I wasn't smart enough to learn my lesson, when our washer went out we read consumer reports that highly recommended the Samsung appliances. Purchased them, immediately had problems - fought with Samsung for weeks and finally went to Lowe's to let them know that their reputation was at stake because they sell Samsung products. Lowe's went above and beyond and graciously took care of my problems with my dryer. Since that time I have received a recall about the problem with the washer. Sorry for this long. Review but I've had more experience than I would like with Samsung and I do not believe in the quality nor their integrity. My advice to you - don't buy Samsung!

Where do we start. We purchased all new appliances for our home within the last 6 months. Within the first couple months a tech came to look at ice maker as wasn't working. Then we went away for Easter long weekend came home open fridge and it was filled with water and water dripping out. I opened the freezer at the bottom and all meat fish etc were all defrosted (frozen bananas were mush). Everything went straight into the garbage including items such as mayonnaise, etc with all the thawed out items also. What a waste of money.
We called the brick were we purchased and they were sending a tech. They said wouldn't be for about 2 days but then they were able to schedule on next morning. (Tuesday). I called Samsung also Tuesday morning, advised of what has happened as was told they do not have a replacement policy, only a repair policy. I advised fridge now smells and a Eileen advised not their problem!!! And no one will come in and clean it. She was very rude. Asked to speak to someone higher and was advised she is the highest I could go. Head office does not take calls. Advised has kids and needs a fridge asap. Again she said I would have to wait. Very rude again as I am a paying customer and when large expensive items are purchased they should last longer than 6 months.
When tech came he advised the compressor has gone. Part would need to be ordered and it looks like possibly next week before they can fix it. Unacceptable!!! Called Samsung again today. Again received very rude customer service and advised to bad. The fridge will not replaced and I will have to wait for someone to come repair it whenever they are available. No idea when. So I have a new broken down fridge and living out of a cooler with 3 kids trying to keep everything cold. What a joke... and also out over 300 in what was good food. I was passed around to 4 different people at Samsung customer service this morning.
When you buy a product there should be a policy when it breaks down. Why should I be inconvenient and have to not have a working fridge. Think twice with Samsung. I have done recent searching and was surprised of previous lawsuits against them with fridges and other appliances. People will continue to purchase these items. They get your money then you are not a customer anymore. You are a number.

I purchased Samsung French Door Counter Depth Refrigerator in November 2016 and had problems with the freezer drawer almost immediately. The drawer would not open completely unless you tugged on it multiple times so I contacted Samsung and was summarily dismissed by the first person with whom I came in contact. I was told by this person that the drawer only opens a few inches and that I would basically have to live with the situation. The second person I called tried to get me to be the service technician and suggested numerous things that I could do to try and remedy the problem. I told him that I did not have the time nor the inclination to play service technician and that since the unit was new I expected Samsung to send a technician to take care of the issue.
They sent someone from Service Quick who decided the drawer gasket was bad and it was allowing air into the freezer causing frost to build up on the rails thus preventing the drawer from opening completely. The gasket was replaced and the next day the drawer was just as bad as it had been prior to the service call. I made another call to Samsung and the second time two technicians arrived and they decided the rails were bad and replaced both rails. The following day the drawer was even worse than before and it was difficult to open and close. The third and final service call two technicians arrived and one tested the gasket for air leaks and the other used a steamer on just one of the rails (why only one I do not know). These idiots told me there were no air leaks but I needed to wipe the door gasket off at least once or twice a week!
Finally I contacted Samsung again and they wanted to send another technician from another company to assess the situation and I refused. I told them that since the refrigerator was new and they could not resolve the issue after three tries I wanted them to consider another way to resolve the matter. Samsung decided they would refund my money, however it has been two weeks since I provided them with the information they requested in order to process the refund and I have yet to get a response to my e-mail inquiring about the status of the matter. I decided to call the Samsung refund and exchanges department and was placed on hold for 45 minutes.
While I was on hold 6 PM rolled around and due to the fact that department closes at 6 PM a recorded message came on and said they could not take my call and that I should call back during regular business hours. We have many Samsung products in our household and, fortunately have never needed service on any of them, until the refrigerator. Now I have experienced the abysmal service from Samsung I will never recommend nor will I ever purchase another Samsung product! Samsung cares nothing about the customer as evidenced by the dismal service they provide. My recommendation is to boycott Samsung and buy products from companies that will service what they sell and respond to the customer in a timely and efficient manner!

If it were possible to give zero stars I would do so. We paid nearly $2000 for this refrigerator less than 4 years ago. We got only 1 year of trouble-free use out of it. Right after the 1-year warranty expired the ice-maker started completely freezing over, making it unusable unless we manually defrosted it. Even though the unit was out of warranty Samsung agreed to repair it for free. Repairman came out, made the repair but said we WOULD have trouble with the unit again. Indeed, and sadly, his prediction was highly accurate as a year later we started having the exact same problem.
Now Samsung wants to charge us $525 to fix it AND they only offer a 90-day warranty. Samsung, they make cellphones that catch on fire and refrigerators that only work properly for a year. AVOID this company's products at all costs. They are not to be relied on. The government should do something about them but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

With Samsung, no regular appliance repair will touch it since they cannot source any spares unless you are an authorized service center. Result = lousy service!! We had the tech come in last month and after talking to some superiors over the phone half the time, said it was a thermostat issue. No spare on hand despite the fact that the symptoms were well described to the Samsung call in center over 2 calls of 30 mins each. Replaced a thermostat which he claimed was not meant for this model and guess what? Broke down in 1 month and had to call again.
Despite asking for not sending the same guy again, they sent him. Fine, this time he opened out the fridge fully and claimed some more parts are 'defective' and could not explain why this could not be determined earlier. We purchased this refrigerator (RF23HCEDBSR/AA) Oct 2014 and the last several months ice maker was making loud noise. We took it apart and ice cubes stuck so we cleaned it out. A month later again, and another month came. We turned the ice maker off because too loud of noise. Called service center, said they have 2 places to call. One in PA and the other also same distance in MD. We live in MD. Even though we turned ice maker off noise continued. We called someone local and came out next day. Said the seal and ice maker were the problem & ice getting stuck. After $98 for service call it started all over again. Called our local company again. They said Samsung has a 3 week back order for the parts. Hmmm the next visit to fix with labor & parts $325. I just dealt with Samsung with their washing machine recall 3 or 4 months ago. Now this.

I purchased a new refrigerator less than a year and a half. I've had to have the ice maker replaced 4 times. Leaks water, doesn't make ice. After about a month I need to purchase bags of ice to have enough ice. WORST 3300.00 I HAVE EVER SPENT. Went thru the entire procedure with Home Depot. I purchased the 5 year warranty. Was told they were sending me an eCards for the full amount in March and all of a sudden APRIL FOOL. On April 1st they SUPPOSEDLY came up with a new fix. I just received the NEW ice maker and the manufacture date is 5/19/2016. Today is 4/14/2017. Don't think this is new enough to fix their problem. Anyone out there that knows of a class action lawsuit against Samsung. This is unrepairable. My repairman told me that and also told the warranty company that back in March.

Samsung Refrigerator RF28HFEDBBC/AA- This refrigerator has problems with the ice maker. Ice builds up on the interior of the ice maker and has to be cleared at least once a month. The ice comes out wet and the dispenser in the door leaks water continuously. There is also a problem with water leaking into the bottom of the refrigerator and then freezing so you cannot easily pull out your meat drawer. Samsung claims no issues with the unit but from what I see on the internet that is not accurate.
Attached is their response: "Thank you for contacting Samsung. I see that the ice maker is not freezing, and ice builds up at the top of the unit and cubes come out wet. Also, the water is leaking and filling the reservoir in the door. I know how bothering this issue could be. Samsung does strive to produce quality products and provide best service. However, your experience doesn't reflect this. Samsung products are designed by dedicated and skilled engineers after extensive technical research. We don't have any reported issues with this refrigerator model. It's disheartening to know that you are experiencing these issues. We don't like to see our customers unhappy or inconvenienced; however, Samsung provides 12 months of warranty from the date of purchase. If your refrigerator is out of warranty, you have to pay for the service.
"A service request was filed for this issue and it was cancelled, as there was no service center available in your area. Since your refrigerator is out of warranty, you may get it repaired locally at your discretion. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused." This is what I received from them. Interesting fact I already had the ice maker looked at during warranty and there is a service center in my area. So they don't support the product and don't know who they have in the area to repair the product. Do not buy Samsung refrigerators. No support.

Our refrigerator model number RF260BEAEWW and freezer stopped cooling on February 24. We called Samsung and a diagnostic repairman came to our home on February 27. It was determined that the compressor went out and someone else would need to come and replace the compressor. After a few follow up calls and being told they were waiting on the part the repairman came on March 14th. He replaced the compressor and the final test determined the unit was not holding pressure.
The repairman called Samsung while at our home. The repairman told Samsung that the unit was not repairable. After the 30 minute call we were informed by the repairman that we would receive a replacement refrigerator. We were given an exchange number ** and to expect a call from Samsung in the next day or so. We did not hear anything from Samsung so we called on March 18. At that time we were told the exchange process takes 12 business days and we would just have to wait.
We explained to the representative on March 18th how difficult it is to go without a refrigerator for 3 weeks especially with 3 children. It is very expensive to buy meals (dinner and breakfast) daily. Plus, we had already had to throw away the contents of the freezer and refrigerator. The week prior we spent over 300.00 on groceries (including meat and seafood). Which if we could find the receipt we would submit to Samsung for reimbursement. But the receipt was nowhere to be found. March 23rd we called to follow up with the exchange process. We were told that we needed to supply a bill of sale for the exchange process. This was the first time we were told this. April 11th we followed up on the bill of sale. We were told that since we purchased the unit at an appliance outlet store the unit was damaged and Samsung would not do anything for us. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS.

Purchased a Samsung RF263BEAESR/AA french door fridge. 09/21/12 started having issues with the refrigerator. Coils freezing causing the twin cooling fans to hit the ice and make loud noises. It woke me up and was so loud I thought someone was breaking into my house. Of course it was just after the warranty expired and I paid them approx $150 to come out replace a Defrost Sensor, Evaporator Cover, and Drain Kit. The service guy called Samsung and strongly said they should pay for the parts (I felt he knew there are ongoing issues with their fridges and felt bad for me) and they did (parts are cheap). The other issue was the ice maker. The unit is not sealed properly causing warm air from the fridge to enter the ice maker and it freezes up eventually ice can't dump in tray because of the ice build up.
They are now making the ice maker sealed up tight because my neighbor has a newer model which 1 year old and I took a peek, no ice build up. They used silicone seal yet one year later same problem so it must be coming in from rear and can't be fixed. I have been removing the ice box and taking a blow dryer once every 2 weeks to melt it. So, I called Samsung 04/07/17 and was trying to get parts to fix the twin cooling fan ice issues after watching YouTube videos and they couldn't give me part #'s. Referred me to www.samsungparts.com which is not their company but is approved to sell parts. I told Samsung, "I had just got off the phone with them and they gave me your # which is technical support (1.855.726.8721) now you're sending me back to them?"
I then told her my cooling fan issue, and ice maker issue, how upset and disappointed I was in their product, and that I have a fridge/freezer in my garage that is 16 yrs old and never had a service issue. She told me, "We can send a service technician to look at the issue and possibly replace it." I said, "You mean charge me?" She stated, "NO replace it???" I asked her if this was a late April Fools joke. She said, "NO..." I stated, "Does this have something to do with a class action lawsuit I have read about." She didn't answer, but did at the same time... So, I am waiting for the service company to call and schedule an appt. If they decide that the issues I told them are verified I may be getting a new fridge, which is a shocker.
The other thing I found out when talking to her she asked in regards to ice build up behind the twin cooling fans, "Were the white wheels to the front and bottom of your fridge touching the ground?" I stated, "Yes." She stated they should not be touching and the fridge needs to be raised tilting back and that when delivered they (Best Buy) should of leveled the refrigerator for me... So Best Buy didn't do it, and neither did the service tech I paid a $150 either. She sent me an e-mail showing a do it yourself How to Level the Refrigerator. So if you are having this issue check it out. May save you a service charge. To melt the ice you need to empty your fridge/freezer for at least 24 hours and tilt it back. May solve the problem. I am leaving mine alone for now hoping for a new fridge... Good Luck.

Now it's doing it again and they say the solution is to unload fridge, turn it off and wait 24-48 hours for it to melt out and to put out towels everywhere. Not a permanent solution. I think it's probably because they use weak door closures and it doesn't seal so moisture builds up and freeze and then starts restricting the circulating fan. Very poor product/solution.

Question #2 -- Why does Lowe's sell Samsung products when they are aware they are faulty to the point of no "fix"? Questions #3 -- Who is surprised that the Samsung CEO Jay Y. I bought a Samsung French Door refrigerator last August. It was model RF30HBEDBSR/AA, which was the largest model available. Price was $2553. I bought the Home Depot extended warranty with it (another $150). I had the refrigerator delivered in October to my new home. This is a very large refrigerator, with the Deli drawer and split upper door to access often used items. Features were great! Unfortunately, the quality wasn't. The ice maker didn't grind ice very small using the "crushed" mode. It put out a lot of untouched cubes with the crushed ice.
In January, I called and arranged to have the ice maker replaced under the warranty. However, at the same time I also reported that the plastic edges of two glass shelves had broken. I wanted to get them replaced as well. I was told by Samsung that the shelves were "cosmetic" items and not covered by their warranty. I was told that I could purchase new shelves through their website.
First - this refrigerator was only in use for three months at that time! Cosmetic or not, three months??? What kind of crap are they selling for $2,500+ that doesn't even last three months??? I checked the Warranty and it does exclude "cosmetic" items, though "cosmetic" isn't well defined, so it could cover a multitude of parts - BUYER BEWARE!!! Second - why would I want to buy parts that are of the same poor quality as what broke in less than three months? Why would I think they will last any longer than the original equipment that came with my refrigerator? So I called Home Depot, since I had also purchased their extended warranty. Their warranty is similarly worthless. They told me that they wouldn't cover items that Samsung wouldn't cover. So my Samsung days are over. I hope this review encourages others to find other brands to chose in lieu of Samsung.

This product is pure junk! The icemaker continually freezes up and I have had two service calls and still the same problem. I have to unclog the ice personally to get the icemaker to work again. Now there are other issues the repairman said would cost $500 to fix. I have called Samsung at least six times to no avail. If you want a good, reliable refrigerator, stay away from Samsung!!! If you buy a product from this company don't expect them to stand behind their products whatsoever. They offer no help or solutions. I will never, ever buy a Samsung product again in my lifetime. If any of you out there are thinking about it please do not purchase their products. Shame on them for making this kind of a product and not standing behind it. Bought a Samsung french door fridge a year and a half ago. It had a musty smell in it from the start that we were consistently trying to eliminate. The ice maker is terrible, always jamming, leaking and poor output of ice. After about a year of owning the fridge, part of the cooling system in the fridge section froze over and now the fridge portion does not cool enough to store food in it. The warranty has expired so we are on the hook for repairs for this product which cost $2,000. I have read many reviews of others having this same issue with a Samsung fridge. I would definitely not recommend a Samsung refrigerator. I wish I had done more research on reviews before purchasing.

My Samsung refrigerator model RF323TEDBSR french door was the best Samsung had to offer. It is nearly 4 yrs old now. From about one year to present it has had freezing up issues in the refrigerator section. After numerous attempt to remedy this issue with Samsung, they just keep giving me the same runaround telling me to level the fridge and set the temperatures as they recommend. I have done this diligently every time, however it is not getting better but worse. They are willing to send out a technician at my cost most likely to do the same thing I have been doing and then tell me it's working. One month later I will be defrosting my fridge much like people were doing in the 50's.
After doing a little online searching I have found that my problem is not unique. Many other happy Samsung owners are experiencing the same issues across many different models. Apparently there is a bad design with the defrosting system. SAMSUNG does not want to own up to it. I can kinda understand their side considering all the troubles they have had with many of their products such as the washing machine blowing up (we have them as well) and the phones catching on fire. WARNING, don't buy SAMSUNG refrigerators.

No working fridge for 4 months and counting. I purchased the Samsung 22.3 Cu Ft counter deep Side-by-side refrigerator with thru the door ice and water - stainless steel. Model RS22HDHPNSR on March 21st, 2015. This fridge was to be the center piece of my kitchen renovation. It was my one big shiny splurge, costing me $2100. My fridge worked fine from March 2015 until November 2016, when it stopped compressing cold air. Since the parts were still under warranty Samsung agreed to have technicians from A&E electrical come to my home in Northern California SIX times over a period of FOUR months to replace the compressor, a 4-way valve and a "motherboard". They have also reduced the pressure on something and then the next time increased the pressure on that same part.
According to my calculations Samsung has paid over $1400 to fix my fridge, which is inefficient for this company and extremely frustrating and time-consuming for me. Each time a technician comes to my home they try to fix it and they can't. When a technician does come to my home it is not trivial. I have to take time away from work and wait for them to arrive over a 4 hour period (9 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 5 pm). There have been two occasions when the technician had to reschedule because he had overbooked his schedule and one occasion when the technician just didn't turn up and didn't even call to reschedule. When the technician does actually turn up and has attempted to fix my fridge and failed, I immediately call Samsung and then have to explain my situation all over again. I then have to wait for another 2-3 weeks before a technician can come out again. And then the same thing happens all over again!
I'm at the point now where I have had the fridge finally deemed as unrepairable by a technician and have sent in my proof of purchase and the technician's report to executive customer services by email. I've also threatened to take legal action if I am not compensated immediately because 4 months without a fridge and two young boys is physically and mentally quite miserable. For me $2100 is just too much money to throw away so I have no choice but to keep fighting this corrupt company. I am very disappointed that Samsung customer service have threaded me along for so long.

We purchased a Samsung side by side refrigerator in 2013. In the summer of 2016, the fridge/freezer broke for the first time. Samsung sent out their qualified repair experts who attempted to fix the problem but in the process, caused further harm. They ended up attempting to fix the fridge 7 more times without success. They then determined that it was an entirely new issue requiring us to buy yet another part and pay for labor yet again.
Contact with Samsung was unhelpful. Because we were out of the 1 year warranty time period, there was nothing they were willing to do. We were without a reliable refrigerator/freezer for more than 6 months. Many times we had to throw away all the food in the refrigerator and freezer. We interrupted our work and home-life schedule 8 times to be there for the repair service 4 hour window. We expected Samsung to recognize a faulty refrigerator and offer immediate compensation. Samsung Refrigerator, bottom Freezer, refrigerator defrost stopped working, refrigerator completely frosted and refrigerator no longer worked. I defrosted, retried and within 2 weeks same again. I called a local so-called service person, Greg ** and he came and checked it. It had totally frosted over again. He defrosted and said he had to order the part. What he ordered was probably the most expensive part, the computer module. He returned and installed the new module at a cost of $423.73. 2 weeks later, same thing all over. He returned, rechecked and said it appeared to be functioning and there was nothing further he could do with it. At that time I went online and looked up the problem which was also a problem for others. Since it was the defrost that was not working I guessed that it must be the defrost coil or the temperature sensor.
I contacted Samsung and ordered an "Evaporator Assy, Refrig SMG" for $123.28 and a "Sensor, Temp F PX-41C TD" at a price of $13.82 (all plus taxes and shipping). I did not know in advance that the Evaporator Assy included a temp sensor. I replaced both the Evaporator Assy and the Temp sensor in Aug 2014 and the refrigerator has been working fine ever since. Had I known in advance I would have only purchased the temp sensor first at a cost of $13.82, that may have solved the problem.
My biggest complaint is that Greg **, so called service person, chose to replace the most expensive item first, especially since he admitted it was only trial and error and that he could not know exactly what the problem was. He charged $423.73 for something that he did not fix and I later had to fix it myself. I am not a service person and I was able to get the refrigerator working!

Then lo and behold, my mother-in-law's did the exact same thing about a month after ours started (about one year to the day for her too). I did the hairdryer defrosting trick about 5 times in a two month span and had had enough... Too much work for ice, seriously! So then I got the bright idea to shut the ice-making ability off and buy bagged ice from the store and put it in the dispenser bucket. First off, I would like to say I never take the time to write out a review regarding a item. This just shows how unsatisfied I am with my purchase. I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone. Do not buy any SAMSUNG product. The customer service reps do not offer any customer service. They do not know how to treat customers even after the crap their company has released in the recent years. Let's not forget about the blowing up of the cell phones and laundry machines.
My complaint is about their refrigerators and how I have spent over $600 trying to fix the ice dispenser. The ice dispenser freezes up and does not slide out. It seems like the fridge is leaking water and causing the entire tray to freeze. The ice cubes are not in proper ice cube form. The ice cubes look like slushy. I complained to the customer service rep and their answer regarding my complaint was "Sorry your item has passed the 1 year warranty for parts." I told the rep there are over 2000 complaints about this ice dispenser on the internet. I previously owned a GE profile refrigerator for over 17 years and never had one issue with it! The customer rep told me they do not go by the complaints on the internet for their products. I asked if they had any other solution and the rep told me once again "Sorry the product has passed the one year warranty for the replacement items."
If the company cannot offer a solution for their defective products, I will not ever in my life purchase a Samsung product. I will make sure I make this clear to all of my family members and friends. I have had this refrigerator for only a little over 2 years. Samsung teach your service reps how to resolve issues and test your products before releasing them. You shouldn't be telling your customers to fix a problem and have them pay $300 to get it fixed. Even your crappy service reps don't have a solution for your defective products. I am a very unsatisfied customer. I will have to go buy a new refrigerator since this issue is not being resolved.

The only option is to spend $389 for a new freezer door and $125 to install it. My service tech (5 star rated) reported he spoke to the Samsung techs and determined Samsung has known about this problem for several years. It appears sells products with known defects, but does not want to support the customers. He also reported there are other Samsung parts which have been discontinued for relatively new units. My husband and I purchased a suite of Samsung appliances in 2012 for our new home. Shortly after the refrigerator was installed and in use, we discovered a leaking problem in the right crisper drawer. We contacted Samsung who in turn sent a repairman to service the fridge and the problem seemed to be fixed until almost a year later. We have had three (3) separate repairmen come, all arranged by Samsung to assess the same leaking issue. The last repairman to come to our home to assess the problem, took pictures and sent onto Samsung.
Samsung contacted us and said the fridge was defective and irreparable. Samsung offered us a depreciated refund of $266.30 and with this; we would have to completely empty the fridge for Samsung to pick up. The fridge cost $1,299 + taxes in 2012 and what was being offered was nowhere close to the cost of a new fridge. Letters and emails were exchanged and Samsung changed their offer to $500 but we would still need to prepare the fridge for Samsung to pick up.
We did not accept their offer as we would be without a fridge and the cost of a new fridge was a lot more than what was being offered. Samsung said that was their final offer which is unacceptable. They have admitted the fridge is defective and all we want is a replacement of a similar fridge. Nothing more and nothing less. When purchasing any new appliances or products; they will not be from Samsung. This company does not stand behind their products and their customer service is very lacking.

I purchased the fridge (RF32FMQDBSR/AA) 3 years ago through South East Steel (SES). Immediately it was evident the ice maker was defective. Problems included no full size ice cubes, leaking constantly and requiring manual defrost and reset whenever door was left open more than a few seconds, for example if loading a large grocery order. It took quite a while for SES to respond to my concern. The repairman Samsung sent, while under warranty, pierced the mechanism with an ice pick, left in anger, and it took months to receive a replacement part and installation. Problem unsolved. I then went back through SES who took so long to get a repair request to Samsung, the warranty expired.
Samsung did make the concession of sending out a repairman who said this model was known for its leaky ice maker, there was nothing he could do and to call the company periodically as it should soon be covered by a recall. I called every 4-6 months for over a year and a half to be told each time Samsung was aware of the problem and there was no remedy. Finally, the ice maker stopped working all together. I then called Sears Repair. The workman told me that this model was being replaced for any Sears customer with a long-term contract because Samsung was so unresponsive regarding the ice maker defects. He told me class action suits were pending. He did order a new motor. The second Sears technician who showed up to replace the $392 part told me it was a upgraded part for the ice maker. All problems resolved!
So if Samsung knew about the problem and upgraded its ice maker motor, why wasn't it covered as part of a recall. And why, in all the calls and queries I made was I not told that upgraded replacement parts were available. And finally since this part solved the problem reported while under warranty, why isn't at least the cost of the part covered? Total repair was $600. I am asking for cost of the part. So far it has fallen on deaf ears at 1-800 SAMSUNG I am awaiting a supervisor's supervisor call back. Wish me luck. Otherwise the fridge seems well designed and working well.

We bought our french door/bottom freezer refrigerator model # RF20HFENBC in January of 2016. Just after the year warranty, we noticed our produce bins filling with water and the back wall was freezing too. We called Samsung, were told to "level the fridge and that would take care of the problem". Well, it was already level, but, hubby releveled it. Within 10 days, the bins were still filling with water! We have read enough online to know that this refrigerator design is a lemon and a defect, so when we called Samsung, they tried to tell us that our warranty was expired, so we would have to pay the $129 service call fee! No way! We told them about the numerous complaints online, and how it's the same exact reason, so they need to repair this.
They set us up with a local repair shop called Unique Repair, along with a "ticket" for the service call, and said they would make sure to cover the cost of the service call... We had to wait 2 days to then set up the appt for the service call... When we called Unique Repair, they had NO confirmation of Samsung paying the service call fee! Since this first phone call, we have called Samsung 4 more times. Each time, it's all a new introduction. Have to explain the problem, they deny saying they would cover the service call fee. We ask for a Supervisor to get on the phone, and then, are put on hold, and the customer rep comes back and says they will once again, cover the service call expense...
Along with this aggravation from Samsung, their one and only repair shop, Unique Repair in the Chicagoland area, is just as bad, if not worse as far as customer service. They never answer their phones, so we are playing phone tag with them for the past 3 weeks too... They also canceled the first "ticket" without even telling us, while we're waiting to hear from them. When we called about this, they tried to blame us, saying they canceled it because they could not reach us to set up the appointment!
We are now waiting for yet, a THIRD ticket to be issued, and have demanded another repair place, we will not work with Unique Repair. Last night, a Rep finally said they will call us in 2 days with another repair company, after arguing with the guy for about 20 minutes, and explaining just how bad this repair place is, and that there are a bunch of negative reviews for them online too. Today, we get a call from Unique Repair asking about the new, current ticket!!!Another call was made tonight because of this nonsense, and we were told to expect a call in 1-2 days from Samsung with a different repair place. We do not believe them, and now, are contacting ABT, who sold us this piece of garbage!
In our research, we found there are at least 2100 complaints on this design of refrigerators, since 2011. Another post said Samsung was going to recall these models as of last month (January 2017). When we asked Samsung directly about this, they said if the service person finds a part that is in a recall, we will be advised... We believe they string customers along, and lie, and do not follow through on anything they say. They do not seem to care about consumer satisfaction and about substandard refrigerator designs either.
Before buying this last January, we researched online and this brand was listed as a good brands... We are so disappointed and aggravated, and will never buy a Samsung product again. We would like to know if there is a class action lawsuit against them and these refrigerators too. We have not been able to use the produce bins, so our family of five has a cramped fridge, and it's just not right.
For anyone dealing with these issues, you can't be nice, or they will string you along. You need to be very stern and vent your anger and demand repairs or speak to their supervisor. **Also, make sure you keep a log of dates and times you call them, who you spoke to... VERY important if there is a class action lawsuit, etc!!! Post your problems on their facebook page too, but, I believe they have removed every complaint about their refrigerators, because I do not see ONE, only on their electronics. We know there are 2100 on this page alone... I have summarized what I could here. There are more irritating details I did not share because we have a long list of our dates, notes, people's names we have spoken to.

French Door Refrigerator RF217ACRS/XAA - After 1 year of purchase from Home Depot, it started having issues with water standing in the crisper drawers. Well, I read the manual and thought I fixed the problem. OH NO THAT'S BECAUSE THE BACK OF THE FRIDGE HAD COMPLETELY ICED OVER! Every month I have to take it apart, after I notice my food gets spoiled, to get the ice off the coils and flush the line again! NO RECALLS ON THIS CRAP!!?? Everything has been replaced and it STILL freezes up solid!!! I am calling Samsung tomorrow because I have had it with the expensive junk they sell!!!

Samsung 4-door fridge's ice maker is junk. $2,000 Samsung fridge breaks after 2-1/2 years! I had a Maytag for 22 years and it never was serviced and was still running fine when I retired it for "peace of mind." Enter Samsung - so much for peace of mind. Ice maker began leaking before a year was up. Kept removing ice buildup. But at 2-1/2 years, the ice maker quit working. Motor was bad. Water sprayed around tray from supply hose encased in ice. Locked ice tray in place, so couldn't remove. Stopped producing ice. Service rep was good (no complaint), but cost quoted at $300 for service call and new motor. Water supply hose issue can't be resolved. Obviously, lots of ice maker issues posted here. Shame on Samsung. Can't make ice; can't make phones.

I purchased my Samsung Model RF263TEAESRAA Refrigerator on 6/05/2014 from Factory Direct Appliance in Lawrence Kansas. I have had Factory Direct Appliance repairman to my house numerous times over ice maker issues. This began just before the original year warranty was up. It quits making ice in the top ice maker, and when you try to pull it out, there are big frozen globs of ice jamming it up. My last repair was on 12/23/16 and I've called today (2/7/17) for another appointment. I noticed less and less ice coming from the top ice maker until there was no ice, and of course, when I pull out the ice drawer there is a big blob of ice, AGAIN!
Each time the repairman talks with Samsung, who agrees there is are issues with air and temperature etc. They've used some kind of adhesive to try and block air gaps, they've replaced the ice maker twice due to my fear it was ruined, struggling to make and dump ice when it can no longer do so. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty. When that's gone, I probably should just haul it to the dump.
NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE SAMSUNG. Read all the reviews online before purchasing this refrigerator; google it, but don't read the Samsung website which gives this model a 4.3-star rating (I don't know how they possibly come up with that unless they delete all the negative reviews). Or, read it and laugh, or cry. :( I could provide a receipt but it's at home and I am not. I do think there should be some sort of class action lawsuit to provide some remedy to all of us who purchased Samsung appliances in good faith believing they were a quality brand.

Unit is now 2 years old and the ice maker compartment hasn't worked right. During the first year we had a rep out to work on it. It's a good thing we bought an additional 2 year warranty thru the store. We've had that check out 3 times now. He replaced the fan, sealed the ice maker from the fridge, now has replaced the whole ice maker compartment. Next step would be computer controls. The biggest problem is that once the ice tray is filled it grinds up half of the ice cubes. I said it's the auger design... I have 3 other Samsung units, washer, dryer and dishwasher no problems. What up?

Purchased a Samsung refrigerator RF220NCTASR/AA September 2016 In January. I experienced food poisoning and food spoilage. Service response was terrible and I was forced to wait almost two weeks for a tech to come out and slap in a new assembly cover on Feb 1st. The next day the problem was worse. The temperature would go from 32-42 degrees in as little as 30 minutes. I still have not been able to use the refrigerator as it is unsafe and they will not come back out to service until Feb 6th. Meanwhile, I have called corporate demanding a new fridge from Samsung, hhgregg and have file complaints with the BBB, local TV stations, and newspaper.

We made the mistake of purchasing a Samsung French door refrigerator. The compressor died and that was verified by the one repair shop within two hours that Samsung would allow to look at it. After three weeks we are filing a consumer action lawsuit in WI. When we call customer service, they have either lost what they said they had the day before or today, they need a 7000 number, a request that has not been made in the previous three weeks. Every day they say they will have an answer in 24 to 48 hours. That answer never comes. We have a B&B so have lost business. Avoid Samsung at all costs. There is no reasonable response to consumers.

The ice maker started jamming right away. When we called they gave us instructions on how to clear the jam ourself. I have never had a company tell me to fix anything myself. What they told me to do did not fix it. So we called and finally got them to send a service person out. He did not put a new ice maker. He just caulked around the ice bin. Within a day it was jamming again. We called to have a service person come back and fix it. When he came he put a whole new ice maker in. No help! It is still jamming and now it is gathering ice in the chute inside the door and then when the door opens ice flies everywhere.
Putting in another ice maker is not going to solve the problems we are having because the blades have too much slack in them and they go behind another blade and they hang up. We called and told them we wanted them to come and get the refrigerator and of course they refused to. The company should not be allowed to sell this kind of junk and then make people keep it. I wish we had known how bad the product was and hope everyone will beware of buying anything Samsung!

I am so utterly disappointed and frustrated with Samsung. We have a few Samsung items in my home. TV, Washer and Dryer and French Door Refrigerator with freezer on the bottom. We have hard water in my home and wonder if this could be the issue. Almost one year from our delivery of our brand new refrigerator from HOME DEPOT, the ice maker stopped making ice. When we investigated further, we noticed that ice wasn't dropping and there was frost and freeze everywhere. We began the regular ritual of using my hairdryer to defrost the ice maker.
I called Samsung. Our unit was out of warranty for 3 days. They would not make accommodations and would not bend, even a bit. Nope. Nothing. I was livid. CUSTOMER SERVICE is not alive and well in SAMSUNG. They flip the consumer off with a hand gesture and send you on your way, after all, they already have my money. NO SAMSUNG IN MY HOUSE, ever again. I will pay more for something else. I'm so happy to see the debacle unfolding with their line of tablets, phones, etc... Sorry for the consumer, don't get me wrong. I hate that company.

Samsung refrigerator problems -- I purchased a Samsung 3-door, bottom freezer refrigerator in November 2014. Five months after 12 month warranty expired the ice maker stopped working. With no warranty I decided to do some online research and discovered multiple complaints about Samsung ice makers freezing up due to condensation buildup in the ice maker compartment. I tried the "thawing with a hair dryer suggestion" and it worked. After a few weeks the problem returned. Hair dryer worked again. After 4 or 5 episodes the ice maker completely quit working. I started making do with ice trays in the freezer.
In November 2016 the refrigerator compartment started freezing up. I unplugged it for several hours and it worked for a couple of weeks but then started freezing up. Turning unit off periodically no longer worked. I finally called a repair tech two weeks ago and after inspection he determined I needed a computer board or a sensor. He suggested doing both in addition to sealing around the ice maker compartment to prevent warmer refrigerator air from getting inside causing the condensation buildup and freezing. This also explained why ice, from day one, was always wet and partially thawed at times. The tech was to return after receiving the parts but has since decided he doesn't want to work on Samsung refrigerators.

We purchased a package deal on 4 Samsung appliances in the summer of 2016. It was suggested that to update our kitchen for potentially selling it that new appliances are a must. The units that we purchased from HHGregg are VERY disappointing. The dishwasher DW80J3020US is very quiet, which is nice, but since there is no latch to lock the door, occasionally we open it mid-cycle forgetting it is on. There is no way to continue the cycle; it has to start completely over. We contacted customer service asking about this and they confirmed this. That is poor design. For the microwave model ME16H702SEB, you can't cook something and use the timer at the same time. It may seem like a small thing, but it is very inconvenient. Again, poor design. We are extremely disappointed in the quality of these units and the lack of attention to detail. They are cheaply designed. Stay away from them.

Called Samsung and I was told that the refrigerator was not level - I checked the level and it was level. Called again to complain about leaking and new noises from the refrigerator and was told they had no record of me calling before. I was told that it was condensation and not an issue. I called Sears where we purchased it and they told me that the five-year warranty for the parts was about to expire and they told me I could purchase an extended warranty at that time.
I called Samsung again and told them to get someone at my house asap to fix it. They told me I would receive a call back within 48 hours to schedule an appointment. I never got a call from them. I called Samsung again and again. They told me that they had no record of me EVER calling. They would not be able to come to fix the refrigerator for weeks - the freezer section had stopped working by this time. I called Sears and purchased the extended warranty since mine would expire in a few days.
I have had Sears out about eight times to in the last five months to diagnose and then replace parts. Five parts have been replaced - fans, electrical board, compressor, and two other items that I can't remember. Neither the refrigerator or freezer section are working now. They found that the coolant was leaking and replaced the piece (coolant panel or whatever it is called) IN the refrigerator. They added more coolant. They were out again yesterday and was told to wait 24 hours to use the refrigerator. The refrigerator and freezer are still not cooling at all. We have a Samsung French door with bottom freezer refrigerator manufactured in RF263TEAESR. It looks great, nice features, problem is, it was designed without a refrigerant valve to shift cooling between chilled regions, which would allow one side to defrost while the other cools. The lines become blocked with ice, the cooling coils freeze over, cooling becomes more difficult, and the ice builds up to the point where the circulation fan bangs the ice, making a serious noise. We have had the "kit" put on which is the "fix" from Samsung. It is designed to shut you up for a couple months and pick up a nice check for their "factory authorized" dealers. The kit does nothing.
The second repair tech came and, for two hours and another $100, tore out the interior back wall, thawed out the lines with hot water, the coils with a heat gun and the vents on the back wall with warm water. He told me it would last no more than a couple months as the insulation gets saturated with water and, rather quickly, everything will refreeze. He was optimistic. Within two weeks it has once again frozen. The fan noise is beginning again and, because Samsung refuses to stand behind their products, this piece of garbage may shortly become the worlds largest paperweight. My advice, STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG products. They have made it obvious standing behind their products is not a priority.

The ice maker is inside the refrigerator. The water leaks down behind the ice bucket and freezes around the mechanisms. It won't dispense ice and makes a loud knocking noise. The ice bucket is also nearly impossible to get out when this happens.
We called Samsung for support and all 3 (yes 3) calls were handled horribly. They don't support their products or have a care in the world about providing customer service. The only way to resolve the issue... remove everything from the freezer and refrigerator and defrost it. This appears to be an ongoing issue and I am not looking forward to owning this refrigerator for the years I expected to. I understand appliances sometimes have issues and my 1-star rating of the appliance is largely geared towards the awful customer service provided by Samsung. The first call to Samsung Service resulted in a technician coming out 5 days later and within minutes it was determined that the compressor and evaporator coil had failed. After 12 weeks, they failed. He was unable to repair and told me parts would be in next week.
I found this unacceptable, that a nearly $3,000 unit would fail after 12 weeks and I would be without use of refrigeration for several weeks while waiting for repair. I had food that spoiled but more importantly for me and my family, had no use of fridge or freezer for weeks. I called Samsung service again to ask if something could be done and was told the system was down and could they call me back. I have yet to receive that callback. The transaction number is **. This is an attractive fridge, and came in cabinet depth. It has ice and water through the door, left side. Unfortunately every 2 to three weeks, the ice maker freezes up and does not allow ice to be produced. To free it up is an involved process, and annoying also. A hair dryer is used along the side of box in the upper left of the fridge. And then the front cover must be pried off, even as the release button is being pushed up. A flat knife is used for prying in addition to much smacking and hitting the side of the box. The process takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Once the cover is removed the hair dryer is then pointed into the ice maker and with the flat knife the ice is chipped off. I really have better things to do with my time, but I do like my ice.

There is a problem with the heating coil not keeping the water from freezing in a little hole. So their fix was a metal piece that doesn't quite reach the hole too short so it wasn't a fix after all. So water freezes in the hole, then no ice, water in right crisper and water under both crispers that freezes. It also creates frost in the freezer and food in the refrigerator freezing. But now I have to pay god knows how much money for a repair guy, empty everything out of my refrigerator again.
Some repair guys are also saying you have to replace the thermostat piping or something like that. Don't buy this. I never do this but I have a refrigerator in my garage that is 12 years old and has never had a problem and Samsung although they were aware from previous models continued to just make it with the same problem knowing it still didn't fix it.

We have the same problem with ice building up in the refrigerator section causing water and ice to form under the crisper trays. The compressor was replaced after 1 year but the problem keeps occurring. I question the Executive team from Samsung how they could still be selling a product for the last 5 or more years that has the same issue. If you read through the reviews and see the years it has been the same problem. Their response was, "We will send a technical out to fix it and you will pay the bill." The problem should be fixed and there should be a recall. Why would anyone invest more money in a piece of JUNK? Next step is a report to the Better Business and to make dealers aware that they are selling faulty products.

Very good fridge/freezer except that it has expensive water filters and since purchase, the water was not draining properly and evaporating in the drip pan. Water turns to ice until it fills up toward the front of the fridge and then overflows out the front and onto the kitchen floor. Samsung seems to accept no responsibility for this very common flaw with the side by side fridge with bottom drawer freezer. All over Youtube but requires disassembling back portion of fridge to fix drain clogging. Not sure if it is a final fix for the problem.

The refrigerator works well, but I clean it weekly to keep in good condition. It's heavy so moving to clean vents behind is a chore, but I do it at least every 6 months to keep it going. Some of the plastic parts just snap and break apart. All of my plastic drawers for vegetables/fruits and frozen foods broke and are held together with rubber bands. Water dispenser works fine but filters expensive and the area where the water comes out has rusted onto the door. But hasn't broken in 5 years. Ice dispenser works best on cubes, but not crushed ice.

March of 2015, we purchased a Samsung Refrigerator from Nebraska Furniture Mart. A month after purchase, the ice maker stop producing ice. Called NFM and was given Samsung's number. Technician came out at least 4 times, only supplying temporary relief. Technician said, "this is a manufacture problem." He said, "There's a sleeve in the back of the refrigerator that allows air to come in and with "sub-below" temperatures over freezes the ice maker, not allowing the ice make to function properly."
After calling Samsung, they continue with the troubleshooting techniques. If you are experiencing this problem, don't allow the operators to troubleshoot your issue. Demand for a service tech. Tech from NFM set the temperature control way too cold. Fresh produce, butter, cheeses in the midsection of the refrigerator was freezing. Found out the correct temperature should be set on "0" and "37". To set you must hold the numbers one at a time for at least three to five seconds. Heading back to NFM to complain. I purchased this item from Best Buy's Pacific. The Geek Squad replaced part of the ice maker but did not remedy the program. Upon searching the internet the above was a known problem with this particular refrigerator. In fact Samsung had issued a technical bulletin on how to fix this problem. In the interim I purchased an extended warranty from Samsung. The same initial problem reoccurred in early December 2016. I took my complaint to the appliance manager at Pacific in Best Buy. He told me this was a Samsung problem.
It has now been six weeks and several visits from repair companies the ice maker has not been fixed. It still freezes up, leads water and stops making ice cubes. I was directed to the regional representative for Samsung. Keeps sending out a different repair company without results. Needless to say I am totally frustrated with Samsung and their defective product. I have asked Samsung to replace the refrigerator but upon examining a more recent model the same problem was visible. I think the refrigerator was thoughtfully designed to serve almost any need for food storage, easy access and easy cleaning. This spring could be made for no more than 50 cents at any reasonably priced manufacturer. I assume that the bar is also made by the Samsung corporation so it would be to their financial benefit to develop this spring as cheaply made as it is, so that additional financial gain could be made by their sale of this bar. I've had this fridge for a few years and feel it was a good buy. (Got it on sale.) The model has french doors with a freezer drawer on the bottom and an automatic ice maker but no ice or water dispenser. This was my choice as the ice and water on my prior fridge worked only sporadically and after awhile the water did not work at all. So far, all is working well. I love the french doors as I am able to put large platters in the fridge. I don't love the freezer drawers as I find that shelves are more practical. The only issue I have is that the ice maker has never shut off when the ice container is full, and this causes ice to spill everywhere including behind the drawer and I have no idea where it goes! Due to this, we are very careful to turn off the ice maker manually when the container is filling up. Otherwise I find that there are no problems.
Its white glossy finish and glass shelves clean easily and still look new. Their curved handles are modern looking. This is a large model and it has plenty of space. Freezer drawer is probably as good as they get, but is not as flexible as shelves. Fridge is consistent in maintaining temperature, and items in the rear of the fridge do not freeze which I found to be a problem with other brands. Ice maker produces ice quickly but does not stop producing ice when the container is full and must be watched and turned off manually.

The few people that I spoke to were not able to help get someone out. Spoke to supervisor. Got a local repair to come out that Friday to tell us what we known it was the compressor. It's a holiday weekend, company was coming and a baby in house. Samsung certainly did not see our frustrations. The guy at repair center said it will take 3 to five days for part to come in. That brings us to the middle of the week. Called repair center said it may be in Friday.
I called Samsung again today 12/27/16 and told them the issue. The authorized service center of Samsung was contacted who took more than a month's time to inform that the defective part cannot be replaced because company has stopped producing it.
I was surprised how company can disown the responsibility of providing spare parts after 5 years as hardly anyone replaces refrigerator in India after 5 years. In fact, the CEO of the company who claims that if any customer has any grievance they can directly contact him and the same will be resolved immediately also did not bother to reply the mail sent to him or get it resolved. I am sharing this WORST experience with you so that it may reach as many people as possible. I request you to please share with your friends, colleagues and all known unknowns so that they can be warned about SAMSUNG PRODUCT.

We purchased a 3 door refrigerator from Sears in January 2013. We purchased the 5 year extended warranty. The Sears repairman has been here 4 or 5 times. He replaced the icemaker once. Came back to fix the icemaker, which kept freezing up and leaking onto the dispenser tray. This leak caused our "STAINLESS STEEL" door to rust. It is still leaking and rusting more. We have talked to Samsung customer reps who told us it was cosmetic and not covered under our warranty. The repairman even told them it was not our fault. But, this did not help our plight. Will not buy anything Samsung ever again. We asked to have them replace our rusty door. Of course this did not happen.

TWICE I have had a repairman come for the fridge. TWICE it was ice buildup. TWICE in one year. The third time it will be replaced with another brand. Because the repair is starting to equal another fridge! Samsung you make these and you can't fix the ice buildup problem? What the hell is wrong with you people? Do you not care? I'm a widow and can't afford a repairman twice a year to deice this piece of crap. When searching google for the problem there are a million videos about ice buildup. SO YOU KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM. FIX IT!

When our refrigerator quit after 24 years, I was excited to receive our new Samsung refrigerator. The unit was on sale, but my particular unit had been mislabeled in the store, so the salesman gave me the listed price. Perfect! Well, less than 8 months later, the ice maker just quit - on the day of our Thanksgiving dinner. I read all the literature and watched the videos via the QR Codes. My husband and I both reset the ice maker and waited 24 hours. We changed the water filter, even though no indicator light suggested it needed changing.
My first call to Samsung left me beyond frustrated. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told no one was available. This technician (I use this word loosely) had me repeat everything that I had already done. Then she finally told me to turn the ice maker off on the door panel and wait 90 minutes for it to start making ice again. When I asked how it would possibly make ice when it's off, she just kept repeating her instructions. What did I do? I turned the ice maker off. I wondered if this was some hard reset that wasn't listed in any material.
Then came call number 2. I turned the ice maker on and gave it a little time. Nothing. I told the second Samsung person what the first person had me do. He said, "Well, your ice maker won't work if it's turned off." You think? He started asking me to do everything again...checking filter, resetting machine. He then asked me the temp settings. I told him -2 for freezer and 36 for the fridge. He said I needed to change the fridge to 37. When I asked him why setting my fridge one degree warmer would help, he had no answer. He then told me to wait 2-3 hours and call them back if it was not working. I said, "Look, I've been doing the same procedures for over 24 hours now. Can't you schedule someone to come fix this?" He then informed me that it was 'procedure'.
Call number 3. When the third 'technician' started to ask me questions, I cut her off. I explained that I wasn't going to repeat everything again for a third person, especially when my husband and I had already performed the same steps the day before. She apologized and told me that someone would be in my area on Friday, but the service department would call and confirm. I received a call from their service department. It was an automated message, asking me to wait. When nothing happened after several minutes, I hung up. On the second call, I decided to put my phone on speaker and go about my tasks. After 30 minutes, no one had picked up! I then called them back. After a few calls, I finally reached someone. I was told that they did not have me down for service for Friday and that the next available day would be the next Thursday.
So, we are now waiting to see if someone will actually show for Thursday's appointment. I can't believe that something is broken in such little time. I usually read reviews before purchasing any big ticket items. I didn't with this purchase. When your fridge goes out, you simply go out and get one, preferably one that can be delivered quickly. I won't make this mistake again, and I definitely will not be purchasing a Samsung! I don't see how this company is going to stay in business with poor quality and poor service.

Keeps freezing up. Had repair 4 times and now the company has no one to service it. My dryer just went out and it is only 2 yrs old and same thing - no one to repair it and the motor has a 10 yr warranty. Crappy customer service! They just keep telling me someone will call with accommodations. In the meantime I have lost tons of food and been without a dryer for 2 weeks. Not sure why Lowe's and Best Buy still sell these products when there is no one to service them while they are under warranty. So frustrated!

My 28 cf Samsung French door refrigerator with ice and water in the door has been acting up AGAIN. It was fine for the first year, then the bottom of the icemaker (above the ice bin) started frosting over. Luckily I had used Discover who honored their free year of extended warranty. The repairman replaced the control unit and said the problem had to do with the heater of the icemaker that heats the ice to let it release. $400 but Discover sent me a check. The problem started to reoccur several months later and now, 10 months later the icemaker is once again not dropping ice because it is blocked by frost. The ice is not as hard as it should be and I get water out of the icemaker before I get ice. The fridge is set at 35, but is 40 on a thermometer.
I called the same repair place. Only a 90-day warranty on the part. They aren't doing Samsung (or LG) anymore. The parts take too long to come in and they get too many callbacks. Great. It was a good repairman, now I'll be at the mercy of the schmucks that Samsung sends. There should be a class action suit. The mfg has a duty to produce a product that performs the function is it meant to do. It's call warranty of merchantability I think. Sony got sued once for larger screen TV's that failed in less than 4 years and they did an extended warranty for those sets. I think this fridge could be the same.
Updated 12/08/2016: I am updating my review from 12/2/16. I googled the problem of ice buildup and refrigerator being warm. My ice was soft and I called the company that did the repair less than one year ago for frost buildup on the ice maker. They told me it is only a 90 day warranty on the parts and labor for the repair (part warrantied by Samsung for only 90 days!). They also told me they no longer service Samsung and LG.
For Samsung part of the reason is that the parts take up to a month to get and also they got a lot of callbacks on the Samsung jobs. I had had trouble even finding anybody to work on it last year so I hope I can keep fixing it myself... I took the advice I found online and tried to defrost the ice maker using codes. It worked a little, but I had to resort to a hair dryer and melt the ice off the underside of the ice tray and melt the ice behind the ice maker that was apparently blocking air flow to the ice maker and also the fan that circulates the fridge air.
We now hear the unit turning on like it used to and the ice is better (harder). It is pathetic that the replacement control board also failed. Neither the original nor the replacement lasted a full year, even though the repairman had told me the part he replaced had been changed by Samsung due to a problem with it. Really seems like a class action case to me since they acknowledged the defect.
