I can just sit down and write a novel about my disposable fridge that would make a priest want to renounce his vows, oh my! And that's not all! So while I have your attention, let me begin with the juiciness of this sought over novel, soon to be released; not appropriate for the weak-minded, lame, sex offenders, and others whom are abusive.

My story begins on the purchase date of December 3, 2010, not to be delivered until December 21, 2010 on Model: RF217ACRSXAA; Brand: Samsung 20 cubit ft B/M french doors; cost $1,299.00, growling! OK, it's going on 8-years old, so what? Don't you want for your refrigerator to last more than just 8 years, I do? After all, $1,299 isn't anything to laugh about on the high cost of paying for any appliance that should serve their customers well in the long-run; hello, this one doesn't cut the cake, in fact, it lacked in all areas.

Listen up now in hearing the truth and the reality of this poorly constructed, over-priced, defective, piece of disposable stainless steel has-been appliance of junk. Not pretty so far, and it's not going to get any prettier, trust me. To save time, I'm just going to list the issues in laying them straight out for your digestion, and I hope they don't deliver unto any of you any form of nausea, flu-like symptoms, diarrhea, or self-inflicted wounds; even thou tempted. This appliance was doomed when formed in the craters of the stainless steel womb in appliance making; in layman's terms it was defective and unacceptable and much made aware of, however, Samsung continued to disregard any discrepancies of their workmanship and so they continued on.

This so-called wannabe fridge didn't pan out at all in its performance and the companies bragging and boasting of such a wonderful product; check out the other sources of reviews regarding their refrigerators and you'll see the tremendous faults and Samsung's own claims that it was your fault based upon "reasonable wear and tear," other words, your daily usage of their product. BULL! Cheap and stupid comment! Everything we have is considered being used on a daily basis as wear and tear.

So it comes down to: a faulty and a unacceptable product with the first thing happening were dents appearing upon the surface front of the stainless steel in various areas where nothing was knocked or hit upon the refrigerator, and this still remains a mystery to this day; and suddenly one day out of the blue when upon opening and gagging, a vile odor of non-delight smacked me right in the face of something raw and diseased in leaving a stench of a decomposed corpse somewhere hiding in my fridge, it was so intrusive and vile that I had to end up removing everything in my fridge to remove the odor of death with vinegar, baking powder, peroxide and rubbing alcohol, which finally helped in this hideous stench, plus it harbored its odor upon my cheese and butter, which I had to dispose of, costing me money in waste, and then having to replace those items which cost me more.

This lovely saga lasted over 1-year in the making and it wasn't pretty, as I had to do this every 3-months. When I contacted this lovely and caring company, I was told to "wash down my fridge." Hahaha! Now that's funny! I reported to this expertise person filled with much knowledge and wisdom, that this was exactly what I had done. Then her reply was, "it takes time and it'll go away." Another bout of uncontrollable laughter in asking her, "what if it doesn't go away, then what?" Only to be told again by this person of much esteem, "then call us back." OK, as if my calling is going to be opening their deaf ears, NOT!

Now moving on to my wonderful and functional ice maker, which when my fridge was installed, the ice maker wasn't even hooked up due to our older home not having any water hookup for a refrigerator that had an ice maker. So the installer, turned that option off as we didn't use it. So in the 7 years in which we've had our disaster of a fridge with all of its sought after imperfections, we're still experiencing problems with the ice maker. This problem has now been addressed 3 times, with a repairman coming out doing his magical diagnostic check to say it was our ice maker programmed in indicating that there is a problem. What kind of a problem you asked, well, it's programmed of course with all of its electronic components saying that there is an ice issue and leaking. NOT!

So this lovely costly $100 gadget of necessity had to be replaced, why, well it's because of the way Samsung designs their appliances causing for them to react in indicating something that isn't. But in order for my fridge to work, I had to pay for it as it was out of warranty. How lovely and kind is Samsung to do that in their designing and corruptible computer technology to showcase this error of "DECEIT." So it was done and I had thought over, but once again, the fun and love of this fridge is expressing itself all over again, and less than one year after it was supposedly been fixed and not to do it again. Yeah, right!

So this time Mr. Mechanic, Man of Genius (another repairman) comes out and swiftly removes the ice maker saying that it wasn't needed and therefore I didn't need for it to be there. No charge this time, saying it was a courtesy call. And after 3 months, surprised! I know, your hearts must be breaking by now. So once again a call was made and several people spoken with, all whom didn't know what was said nor documented from the others, so I had to repeat everything over and over; my patience was low and running thin by now.

So finally a service call was made by a company who would call me to confirm within the week regarding an ice maker that was removed and yet there was still a problem. The company called, the serviceman and I talked, only to find out that what Samsung had told him was nothing that I had said that I needed help on. They told him that I had a water leak, when I had an ice maker that was removed and the code were showing that I had a water leak coming from my ice maker that was previously removed.

The serviceman suggested I call them back to report this, as there was no reason for him to come out for something that doesn't exist. The call was made, I had talked to 4 people and was told someone would be contacting me (this was in May of this year 2018). And yet at this time no one has contacted me on scheduling anyone to assist me, and my fridge is still the same as it was before where you have no option in controlling your refrigerator's temperature, and it's not as cold as it should be where numerous items of food had to be removed and thrown away. So now what?

Let this vicious, but yet lovely and caring company who jumps hoops and swims the ocean, climbs the highest mountains and deals with volcanoes just to make sure that their appliances will be serviced well and proper, leaving you with a sense of relief and comfort, and cold foods. Wow! Guess I'm in good hands after all; and here I thought Jack the Ripper was bad.

We purchased the French Door/Freezer on Bottom from Best Buy. 2 ice makers! Model Number RF28MFEDTSR/ AA. It has the ice maker in frig. area and one in bottom of freezer. 5th day of owning it... filter light came on -- upper ice maker jams every other day -- crushed ice portion has never worked -- it's not crushed -ever. And it takes over 2 mins for 4 oz... (yeah you're standing forever for sml amount). Long drawer/fresh veggies or whatever... becomes frozen constantly -- we are weekly taking everything out to get all the water and ice out!

Funny thing is we did a consumer report before buying a Frig. This model was new on market and very expensive. It's a piece of junk. Samsung should recall all of these -- it's obvious there are hundreds with same problem... Oh yeah -- we also bought washer (front loader) dryer both with all the bells and whistles -- from Best Buy -- (Dryer only goes 40 mins in 1 setting) - its takes almost 2 hrs to dry 10 towels -- (Electric) -- after 3 months... washer doesn't hold as much as it's supposed to! Again paid a fortune for all 3... new on market! Honestly wished we had our old Kenmore products back. You couldn't pay me to buy a Samsung product ever again.

We bought a french door Samsung Refrigerator, 3 years ago and it has proven to be a poor product. There has been ice build up in the Ice Cube maker to the point where we do not use it. That caused a lot of noise from the fan. There has also been ice build up in the back of the fridge. We defrosted the fridge and when it was plugged in the fridge unit will not go lower than 55C. Samsung have washed their hands of the product and for the 3rd time... We are forced to call in a repairman. In reading the various posts about this issue I do not understand how come they do not know what it is... (Planned obsolescence???). We are very disappointed in the product and will NOT buy a Samsung fridge again.

I purchased a Samsung 24.73 ft 4 door French door refrigerator Model #RF25HMEDBSR in August of 2017. Not sure how long I had it when the ice maker started freezing up and had to be defrosted with a BAIRD dryer. Called for repair the first time in February of 2018. They replaced the entire ice maker, however it started freezing up again. Repair sent out again on May 14, 2018. The technician tells me the entire refrigerator need to be replaced and someone will call me within 24-48 hours. No call, I call Samsung and I am told, "WE DON'T CALL you," I am told to submit receipts and someone will contact me. I submit my receipts and receive a phone call on the 22 of May to send a better picture of the receipt.

May 23rd I received an email stating the exchange has been approved and someone from the Lowe's where I purchased it should give me a call within 5 business days. 5 days later no call. May 31st. I call Samsung, they tell me the exchange is finished on their end and I need to contact the local Lowe's. Call Lowe's, they have not received the RMA (return merchandise authorization). I provide the number and they contact Samsung to request it be sent again. June 1st - Lowe's calls, RMA received. They are required to come and pick up the refrigerator, refund it then they can order the new one... I call Samsung, and explain how I am not ok with this, The bottom line is, they don’t care.

The angel in this scenario is Jessica (and Dianne) assistant manager at Lowe's in Santa Clarita California. She is willing to order the replacement without having the old unit back. Because it's a special order will take 10 days to get to the store. That puts me at the 14th of June, almost exactly 1 month from the date of my 2nd repair and the day I get on a plane to go to Europe for 2 weeks. Here’s the Bottom line, Samsung did nothing to make this an easy process and they don’t care. I just stumbled on this site and can see this is a known issue and they have done nothing to fix the problem. During manufacturing or after the units were purchased.

The refrigerator we purchased 1 yr & 8 mos ago stopped working. After waiting a week and a half for a repair company to come the repair company told us it was too big of a problem for them to fix. They called it a sealed system breakdown. We were sent back to communicating with Samsung. Now every time anything actually happens it’s a Thursday or Friday so the whole weekend goes by with no action. I finally get Samsung to assign us a new repair company that supposedly deals with Sealed Systems.

We are given a date three weeks later. I demanded that is too long. I’m told I have to deal with the repair company about the date. I try but they don’t care, they’re just the repair company and I’m not the one paying them so why would they care?! Of course Nothing happens. I finally put my foot down and insist that we get a new fridge. Three more days goes by & Samsung keeps promising me every day that management is going to call me back. Guess what? No one ever calls. Another Friday... Another weekend with no action!

Now today a month after this whole thing starts & the fridge stopped working I’m told this morning that Home Depot (our original purchase location) is where we get the replacement fridge from and I have to go through them for delivery date. FOUR phone calls later to Home Depot today and hours later it is determined that Home Depot has nothing to do with it. What a waste of my day! Come to find out the fridge is now in our town but no delivery date is available so I just have to sit and wait. Let’s summarize by saying I will never buy anything from Samsung again

We have since realized that our energy bill spiked at least $50 a month since January and it has now dawned on us that it is because as the fridge got worse and worse & was probably pulling more & more energy trying to stay cold. Between the groceries that we lost, the spike in energy cost and the money spent going out to eat because we haven’t had a fridge for a month Samsung owes us a lot more than a replacement but I will not hold my breath! Unacceptable!!

Updated on 07/02/2018: If you read my previous review you saw the horrible experience we had going two months without a refrigerator. When the delivery company eventually showed up with our new refrigerator, just as we feared, they were merely truck drivers and had no expectation of installing the new fridge. As soon as it was brought off the truck we’ve noticed a dent in the front right door.

Also as the delivery men brought it into the house they damaged our kitchen wall. Our kitchen is in the midst of being upgraded by us and the new sheetrock had just been taped. When I phoned Samsung to tell them of the damaged wall and the dent in the front of the fridge Samsung informed me that we would have to turn the fridge away and go after the delivery company ourselves for the damage to the wall. I am not shocked by this response from Samsung as they have shown no care for their customer through this entire process. We kept the fridge of course because who would turn away a fridge after two months of been without one?

I had purchased a new appliance in August each one was defective. I had a total of 4: tried 2 Samsungs and 2 LGs both same models. Finally, demanded my money back from PC Richards after losing over a $1,000 in food, the time I spent on the telephone with PC Richards and of course their incompetent service technician appointments! In the end went to Lowe's purchased a Whirlpool and have not had any problems with it. PC Richards either sells defective merchandise or their installers do not know how to carry these machines upstairs. Lowe's carried it into my house without using a dolly to get it up the stairs. So it is either the way they delivered it or it is their merchandise. No matter how I see it, it is definitely a PC Richards issue.

We have had this fridge only 2 years (but past the 1 year warranty).

We thought it was odd, but just defrosted, and ice maker would start working again. This happened about every 6 months... we just thought WE were doing something wrong. Well, I contacted Samsung... even went to the president's office, after looking online and seeing that this was a KNOWN DEFECT. Samsung basically told us to kick rocks.

We paid for a repair guy, and he TOLD US this was a known issue/recall and that some people were getting the repair covered. We have to pay $330 to fix it, and Samsung doesn't care... after spending $3k on a fridge, you dont expect an issue within 6 months. After the office of the president responded telling me, "Too bad, you are out of warranty," I will warn EVERYONE everywhere. I will never purchase a Samsung appliance again. They know it is a defect, and they don't care. Buy any other brand, do not buy Samsung.

Samsung refrigerator rf217 - Purchased it from Sears along with service contract. Within weeks the veg containers filled with water- have had the repair service here at least 9 times for same issue. It's now near the limit of coverage and the water is still coming into the veg area and icing up. The repair service admits that the Samsung ref is trouble. I will also add that there is a crack in the plastic in the area where the two top doors meet. Can find no cause for this other than poor quality. The issues were the vent blocked so can't breathe. This happened till the entire inside back panel was replaced- build up of frost in freezer told door didn't close properly the- that the ref wasn't balanced enough somewhere. There is a list of excuses. Bottom line Samsung knew of the issue. Just read the booklet that comes with the product and the number of times they mention water build up. It's cheaper for them to rewrite the book than correct the problem.

UPDATE ON 05/28/2018: It's near the end of the 5 year service contract - the same problems have never been removed - tipping back replacing fan - wires - back panel etc. The service was here twice this month. Called today. Went through all the repairs for same issue. Sabrina said she would put me on hold then came back. Said she couldn't hear me and hung up -- I called back. Went over everything again with a man this time. He informed me that the tech had to come to repair and if the tech felt it couldn't be fixed then they would replace. Was told I could file a replacement for lost food.

I have had it with stalling the ice and water in the veg containers has gone on from the time I bought the thing to present and it's still not fixed. Still filling with water ice and rotting the food and now I am told that the tech must attempt to fix the problem before they will replace it. Am fed up with Sears Samsung and the quality of home appliances - doesn't even rate one star. Would rate it a minus if I could so it's one star and that's even too much.

Samsung initially informed us that the refrigerator was not repairable and asked for us to submit our receipt for replacement or refund. After submitting our receipt we were then informed Samsung needed more pictures of the refrigerator. They told us that the damage was corroded lines due to sulfur in the air. We have never had a problem with sulfur in our home.

They said this is an environmental issue and not covered under warranty. The repair company even said that it is unusual to see this corrosion so soon and in our direct area. The lines on the refrigerator should have never corroded that bad in 15 months. We have never had a problem with corrosion on things we have had for years. Even with this information Samsung said they are standing by their claim and will do nothing to help us. We now have a 15 month old piece of junk Samsung refrigerator.

Unfortunately, I fell in love with its center drawer and purchased a 4-door Samsung Refrigerator Freezer 3 and a half years ago, for $3200.00, without doing proper research. The model is RF24FSEDBSR and was manufactured in Sept of 2014. I still love the center drawer, but it is not enough to make up for the rest of the appliance. This is a prime example of a company that thinks highly of itself but doesn't care that it sells absolute junk. The number of problems and repairs for the ice maker, add up to this being the worst purchase I have ever made and that is saying something. I have put up with months and months of temporary fixes, thawing with hairdryers, mopping up pooling water on the floor of the refrigerator section and just doing without ice.

Recently, I have had 3 service calls for the ice maker. The ice maker freezes solid and won't dispense ice. Then, I need to move all my refrigerated food to a cooler and my frozen food to the outside freezer; turn off the entire unit for 2 days, with both doors propped open; and put an air circulator/warmer inside, just so the repairman can pry the completely frozen icemaker out without cracking the wall of the refrigerator. On the last service call, he replaced the entire ice maker for about $550.00. My total out of pocket for repairs and service is about $850.00. I fully expect that amount to grow. Now, it sort of works, but makes very little ice, (which will not be enough with summer coming).

I cannot get cubed ice, just crushed ice; there is water dripping down the front of the refrigerator and it is a constant source of aggravation. Samsung wasn't sympathetic or helpful when I talked with them, and they suggested that I should have purchased their 5-year Samsung Service Agreement for $1750.00 when I had a chance. Really? They were supposed to call me back (within 24 hours) 10 months ago, and I'm still waiting. Complete waste of time, money, effort, energy and resources. "Do not ever buy a Samsung refrigerator because they are expensive junk", was the advice of my repair person, who has owned an appliance repair business for many years. I could have saved myself lots of frustration, and money, if I had done my research.

And we're not sure the new fan will work - the serial numbers on our fan show that it's no longer available, and Samsung doesn't have replacements. We had to go with a third party and hope their best guess is right. In the meantime our food is in coolers for two days, and the ** of it is that I'm pretty sure that the best case scenario is that this fan will fit, and in a few months it will all freeze solid and lock up and burn the fan out again.

I'm ready to throw in the towel, but we spent a couple of grand on this (considerable for a not-wealthy family) and my husband wants to keep trying. It would be so bad but apparently this has been going for almost a decade. I'm pissed off at Samsung for still putting out this shoddy product, as well as Lowe's for continuing to see it. The fill line to the ice maker was in too far so not allowing the fan to cool the line and make ice. I called Samsung back to notify them of what the company found and thought they should reimburse my $100, but they didn't even consider it. It was almost impossible to understand the out of country rep but it was CLEAR that he and his company did not care about me in the slightest.

I purchased a French Door Refrigerator, very pretty but like a beautiful leather back book with nothing on the pages! I have had the refrigerator 4 years and in this time frame I have replaced 2 icemakers and now the freezer has stopped working, I lost quite a bit of food due to this failure. I called Samsung was advised they could not help to call a repairman, I called repair company and they were very nice and advised me Samsung will repair the compressor I called Samsung and they advised they would not. The repairman called them and they agreed to fix it.

They called on Monday and advised there would be a repairman on Wednesday of the week to repair it. On Tuesday Samsung called and advised they COULD NOT find anyone in my area to fix it, that I should find someone to repair it and they would reimburse me. (They can't find anyone but I can, Duh!) It seems I made a very bad decision when I made this purchase.

Our brand-new Samsung fridge (583DLS) stops cooling the food for at least 24hrs every week since we purchased it. Every week, there is condensation on shelves and all foods reach room temperature. In the freezer all the ice and other frozen foods melt. About 24-48hrs later the fridge starts working again and freezes the melted ice in the bucket again so it becomes one large ice block. We have contacted Samsung (at least 20 times) to report the issue and they keep sending technician from Sydney Appliance Service to assess. We've had 5 visits from the technician and have shown him photos of the condensation, melted ice etc and explained it stops working randomly during the week. He has seen the large block of ice after all the ice cubes melt in the bucket.

It has now been 3 months, we've had 5 technician visit, we've made around 20 calls, have waited on hold for hours and spent a lot of money on food and the issue is still not resolved. Latest advice from Samsung is "as the issue is happening intermittently it's not a faulty fridge" and they won't replace it and will send a technician to assess again. Would not recommend this product.

Ticket **. My fridge stopped working under warranty and it was diagnosed as a bad compressor & Freon leak. They would fix the compressor the following week, but couldn't fix the Freon leak. So they would return with a new compressor and still not fix the issue? Yes, it was the Samsung policy. I called customer service and complained that I had a client (renter) arriving the following day. After hours on the phone, Samsung relented and offered a full refund. I went out and bought a new fridge.

Now a month later, I called asking the status of the refund. They acknowledged they offered a refund, but they rescinded the refund offer stating that I refused the repair. I explained that I did not refuse the repair, I accepted the offer of the refund. After many more hours on the phone, I finally gave up. I do own 2 Samsung refrigerators, 3 televisions and just purchased a new side-by-side washer & dryer. Never again. Their new corporate mantra: "We're Samsung - we're here to screw with you." I give Samsung a one star simply because there isn't a lower option. I have owned two Samsung refrigerators. The first I purchased about 9 or 10 years ago. It only lasted about 6 months and the compressor stopped working. I contacted Samsung and was advised the warranty at the time was a 6 month warranty and it would not be covered. I built a new home less than five years ago and as I got ready to purchase the appliances I had a family member that was going through a divorce that had new kitchen appliance set that he was looking to sell. The set was a stainless steel Samsung refrigerator, glass top stove, and a dishwasher. All of which had not been used but had been installed in his new home.

The Samsung refrigerator worked great all of maybe 6 months and the icemaker stopped working. I replaced it and the replacement worked maybe two months and it quit. I replaced that one and the third one worked less than a year and it then quit so I purchased a countertop icemaker and gave up on having one in the refrigerator. Then shortly after the third icemaker stopped it started pooling water under the deli tray that would run out and puddle on the floor. Shortly after that it started making a noise which was the fan hitting build up ice accumulating near the fan. I had to take the refrigerator apart and clear the ice. A short while later it froze up again and this time it burn up the fan motor because the ice also froze the fan. I ordered the parts, put it back together and less than two months later the freezer stopped working. All of these issues were not covered by warranty. When the freezer stopped I fixed it by replacing it with a new refrigerator/freezer.

The Samsung glass top stove, I have had to replace the glass top cause the original one busted. It busted after cooking a meal and the repairman advised me the top had an air bubble and as it was cooling off the bubble caused the glass to bust. The dishwasher I have had to pull out three times and replace parts in it. IF YOU WANT QUALITY STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG TRASH.

Don't buy a Samsung Refrigerator!!! Our Samsung has been the worst of worst. Two months after we bought a $3000.00 one the whole electric panel went out. Everything thawed out. They kept playing games about paying for the lost food. They never did reimburse us. Ours broke down 4 times in 2 years. We also had to replace both of the ice makers. One of them 3 times because the water leaks underneath it and freezes the mechanism that turns the ice out. Then when you try to get ice from the dispenser it cracks the ice maker and it has to be replaced. The water also leaks down in the inside of the refrigerator and runs under the storage bins and then on the floor when you open up the fridge. After replacing it 3 times we just don't use it.

Samsung does not stand behind their products. Even though our fridge was without doubt a lemon they never replaced it. They play constant games of lost paperwork and unbelievable stalls until you just give up and pay to have it fixed yourself. The problem is they can stall forever but you can't go without a fridge. My daughter bought the same model as ours and she has had a lot of the same problems. They never fixed hers either. Never will I buy a Samsung product again!!!

I contact Samsung warranty 4/2 and went through all the motions to reset factory settings and was told they would contact me the next day to be sure that it was operating correctly. It was at 77 degrees. I was then told that a service tech would contact us within 24-48 hours. According to the first tech that arrived on 4/4 the compressor was locked down and that he did not have the parts to repair and they would need to be ordered. I was told someone would be back in touch in 24-48 hours. The 2nd service tech that was sent 4/9 stated that it should be replaced or refunded and gave me a new ticket # and copy of the recommendation that he sent to Samsung.

I began calling Samsung on 4/10 and was told they had the information and that it would be 3-5 days before a resolution was determined. I have been calling Samsung every other business day and each time was told they had to follow POLICY and PROCEDURES!!! I continuously reminded them that my mother was 92 and living out of an ice chest. They would apologize and I would say don't apologize if you are not doing anything to correct the problem. It then went to a different department to be approved and it became 5-7 days. It continued to go to different departments and the days would increase with each change. It became 7-11 days then 11-14 days.

On Friday MAY 4, 2018 I sent pictures of the refrigerator with the power cord cut and the serial sticker removed along with banking information for a refund. The e-mail I received back was that we should receive funds in 7-14 days. I will not purchase anything else from Samsung. I loved my beautiful Samsung when I first bought it and it worked fine for about a year. Then it started leaking brown gook from the inside of the refrigerator... could not figure out where it came from. I had a certified Samsung appliance man take a look at it and he charged me a hefty service fee after telling me he couldn't find anything wrong. He did tell me, as he was leaving, that I shouldn't open the refrigerator door too often since condensation could form. Really??? And where was the brown gook coming from? The leaking continued and at some point I noticed my food began spoiling... thought it was the summer heat and adjusted the refrigerator temperature. The spoiling continued and after way too long of a time period I eventually called out another Samsung repair man. He said the fan that circulated the cold air was shattered inside the unit and the brown gook was freon that was leaking out into the fridge.

The cost would be a minimum of $600.00 to $700.00 to repair it and he couldn't guarantee that there might be other issues and wouldn't know until he took everything apart. I called Samsung appliance service center and was told this problem would probably be considered under warranty and they would call me back in a few days. After waiting several weeks without hearing back from Samsung, a person from a call center out of the US did call and told me there would be no coverage at all.

I asked to speak to a manager and the person explained they were just a call center and there wasn't any manager... didn't have a number to give me where I could actually talk to someone with the ability to answer my questions. At this point I was stuck with either paying a ransom to get the fridge repaired or buy a new one. I chose to buy a Frigidaire and it is my dream refrigerator. I don't plan on ever purchasing another Samsung appliance in my lifetime. My experience with my Samsung refrigerator and their service department was beyond horrible and I do not recommend this brand, based on this experience.

The original refrigerator had a problem with the freezer frosting up thus making it difficult to get the freezer drawer to open completely. After multiple attempts by the Samsung service technicians to resolve the problem Samsung decided to refund our money so we could purchase another refrigerator. Even though the service quality we received on the original refrigerator was terrible we decided to purchase another Samsung refrigerator because of their reputation for producing quality products.

I am sorry to say that the replacement Samsung refrigerator is doing exactly the same thing and it is also very noisy. I doubt we will get more than a couple of years out of this refrigerator. I do not think Samsung knows what it is doing when it comes to making quality refrigerators and it definitely needs a tremendous amount of improvement in servicing what they sell. Last time this happened we had to unplug the fridge so it could thaw out so they could change a part. I sure hope we don’t have to do this again. Where do I start? We purchased this refrigerator (4 Door Model RF23J9011SR) at the end of Dec. 2016. Within 7 months we had problems with the ice maker inside the refrigerator. No ice would dispense, all frozen up inside. Samsung replaced all of the ice maker parts except the cube box. Well it worked long enough to get past its warranty, then it failed again. The second time I could not even pull the ice maker drawer out. As it turns out the parts they replace were the old style original ones that were defective. He replaced all of the parts with the new Samsung updated parts, at a cost of 328 dollars to me. I paid then called Samsung. After almost an hour on the phone they agreed to give me a one time warranty extension.

While the second tech was here I told him that the refrigerator seemed warm, and the thermometer I had in it said 48 degrees... Clearly not 34 like stated on the door display. He tried to tell me that my new refrigerator thermometer was not accurate (brand new, only days old) and that I had a tear in the door seal. I would call it a small slice. He said it wasn’t cooling because the tear (less than 3/8 of an inch) was letting warm air in. It needed a new door seal, Ok. I said, "Replace it." Then he said he had to order it and come out in a couple days. Came out, put the new seal on the refrigerator, still was at 48-50 degrees. It wasn’t the problem. Called again for service. Tech came out, spent almost two hours here trying to figure out why the top refrigerator wasnt getting cold. Turned out the compressor and all of the Freon lines are bad, they all needed replacing. He informed me it was a 3 hour job and that another tech would be out in 2 days.

I still have no upper refrigerator. The whole process has reached week three. I called Samsung and demanded a new refrigerator replacement...they said no (no surprise) and that I had to have the tech do the compressor and Freon line repairs. Because the parts had been ordered, the guy just left 10 mins. ago. Keep in mind that my refrigerator isn’t even two years old... Wow I sure am excited about its future and what I can expect. In closing...DONT EVER BUY ANY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!! It’s like an Edsel. It looked good but wasn’t all that great of a car. What you read online is true, they are JUNK!!! Samsung customer service is a joke all yes and good and feel real sorry for you. They have heard it all before and could really care less once the great one warranty has expired. Full disclosure, this is all on me. Now that I've seen how poor their service is, I'm looking at all these reviews, and thinking I should have done this prior to purchasing. But I digress, I bought $10k worth of their top of the line appliances in the new black stainless finish. Almost immediately, the ice maker is dripping water and quits making ice. Samsung sends a tech and first thing he says is that these units are garbage and that the $300 part that is broken after only a month will break every year, as long as I own it. Not exactly what I wanted to hear!

So after months of back and forth with the worst customer service dept I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with, Samsung says they will replace the fridge. They send it via freight with delivery guys who have no idea how to install. So they tear the ** out of the old one, beat up my house, and ultimately can't get the new one in. So they leave me with the old one that is now beat up scratched all to hell, and not working. Samsung says 'no problem, we'll send another'! What!?! What about the brand new one you already sent on the truck? And the brand new one you just trashed?? They couldn't care less.

So I finally get Home Depot to replace the fridge, and then, while wiping the appliances down with a microfiber towel, a chunk of the finish comes off the range. So I call Samsung back and they tell me, "No prob, we'll send a tech to fix." They set an appointment for the next week and I wait. Appointment time comes and goes and no tech. I call back, they say, "We cancelled because you're out of warranty." "Wait, these are only a few months old!" "Oh, yeah, I guess you're right... Ok, we'll send a tech." Cancelled.

I get a supervisor on the line, and she says, "It keeps getting cancelled because it's cosmetic, and that's not covered under your warranty." "So the paint can just fall off and that's not covered!?!" So I get really pissed and she says, "OK, we'll send a tech, but if there is any sign that you caused the paint to chip, then you're paying for it." Fine, agreed. Get an email the next day, "Your service appointment has been cancelled." I am literally speechless...these appliances look great, but they are total garbage. But the company is worse. Save yourself a LOT of aggravation...avoid Samsung.

We needed a new refrigerator after our 15 year old GE started having problems. We found a nice looking french door style Samsung with a middle drawer for refrigerated items, freezer drawer at the bottom, water and ice dispenser, all the whistles and bells - in fact more whistles and bells than we had ever seen before. We have four Samsung TVs that all work great so we decided to give Samsung refrigerators a try - VERY BAD DECISION. The ice/water dispenser stopped working and none of our local repair people knew how to repair Samsung refrigeration products. Entering the model and serial number into the Samsung website in order to locate a Samsung repair person proved very difficult - not user friendly.

We finally got the ice maker repaired but ice cubes still get stuck coming out of the dispenser and we have to completely empty the freezer about every four month and chip out the ice buildup in the bottom of the freezer, otherwise it gets increasingly difficult to open and shut the freezer door. About every two months the handle literally comes loose from the freezer drawer and I have to find the correct size Allen wrench to reattach the handle. Finally, the bottom of the middle plastic drawer for refrigerated items cracked. I don't think we every loaded it with anything unduly heavy - it just appears to be very thin plastic and it cracked. My next refrigerator will not be a Samsung.

Samsung 3-Door Refrigerator Ice Maker - We purchased this in 2015. We’re disappointed in the icemaker from the beginning -- it did not make a lot of ice and ran out frequently. Then the icemaker started to freeze up periodically where we were unable to remove the ice storage box. Only by turning off the refrigerator were we able to defrost. On Monday, April 9, we called customer support for advice. I followed the instructions I was given and was assured that "there would be a bucket of ice" the next day. Wrong. The ice storage had completely defrosted. We noticed later in the day on Tuesday that the refrigerator was no longer cooling the frig or freezer areas. We called again on Tuesday and spoke with another representative who told us to do the same thing as the first. Nothing happened.

After 75 minutes with this person, we were advised that we would probably have to replace the ice-making system, not under guarantee. She assured us that during this time, they were having one of their service people identify a local service location to assist. Then we told her that the refrigerator and freezer at least were working before we followed their instructions and shouldn't they be responsible for damaged food and whatever needed to get the frig and freezer working. She said to make an itemized list of the fold that was spoiling, take a picture and show the price. Didn't say they would reimburse, nor did she suggest any responsibility on their part for the problems caused by following the directions on the tech support.

At this point, we asked for a supervisor. We were on hold for about an hour and finally hung up. We called again and were able to speak with a tech person who was able to at least get the frig and freezer working. The icemaker appears to be working now, but it will continue to back up and freeze, like it always does. This morning, another tech person called and asked if she could help resolve this over the phone. This was very disappointing, as I was expecting either a call from the local appliance repair place or perhaps the supervisor. This was unbelievable, and of course I was angry about how our problem was being handled. I mentioned that unless a supervisor was willing to call me back (I was no longer willing to wait for someone not to come on the phone), there was no longer a need for conversation. The tech support people were polite. But I will never, never again purchase any Samsung product.

We built a house in 2016. Went with the Samsung new black stainless steel appliances. We have had nothing but problems with the Refrigerator model# RF260BEAESR. The door clips keep breaking, you can’t get in and out of the freezer part and the MOST frustrating is the ICE MAKER! I have spent no less than 15 hrs trying to fix it. It was out of warranty two weeks and got nothing from Samsung. I am going to share something I have learned: Always ask how much the extended warranty is, if it’s almost half as much as the original cost of the thing you are purchasing STAY AWAY!!!

I figured this out after having bought 3 dishwashers and two refrigerators. Case in point current refrigerator (Samsung french door) warranty was $756.00 I paid $1,600.00 for it new and have had nothing but problems. Oven was $350 for warranty new it was $1,700. We have had 0 problems with it. Microhood $35.00 new $350.00 0 problems... I strongly recommend you stay away from Samsung appliances. They make a great TV maybe phone but that's it.

I bought a 22.5 cu ft French door counter-depth (RF23HCEDBSR) in 2015 from Sears. It was first used in November 2015. $3,200 on sale for $2,778. After a little more than a year, the ice maker began freezing (an oxymoron?), requiring that I remove the ice bucket for a few to several days at a time to let the inner works thaw out. This began happening with increasing frequency. Eventually, after 2.4 years I was without ice more often than I was with ice. The Sears repair tech said that the ice maker has a number of design flaws and that Samsung requires that the ice maker be replaced. Replacement cost is $780.

This is not a case of a mechanical part wearing out or going bad. This was Samsung's design flaw. A responsible company would take responsibility for the flawed product and replace it without charge. It was poor company decision making when the ice maker was designed and installed, and it is now equally poor company decision for not taking responsibility and replacing the defective product now that the defect has been discovered. I'll report the defect and Samsung's response to my State Attorney General's consumer protection division since Samsung doesn't seem to respond to individual consumers.

In mid-2015 I replaced my refrigerator with the Samsung French Door/Freezer at the bottom (Model #: RF261BEAEWW/AA-0001). Two weeks ago, we noticed the icemaker abruptly stopped working. Shortly thereafter, water accumulated under the refrigerator crisper and seeped from under the right side. Not really understanding what was going on, I just cleaned it every two to three days.

Now as of three days ago, I began hearing a humming/grinding noise coming from the upper rear center on the inside of the fridge. It sounded like the fan was hitting something as it's spinning. It only does it when the doors are closed and you can hear it winding down when you open the door. When you close the doors, it winds up to full speed again and the loud irritating sound returns. Now, since the icemaker stopped I turned it off yet the noise is still active. While doing an inspection, I found a build up of ice in the back of the fridge.

Turning to the internet for Diagnostics and DYI Repair advice, I have come across countless of sites with hundreds of complaints warning people Samsung will not recognize their horrible flaw(s) within their product. Samsung Service Centers have you open a ticket but then tell you they apparently can't fix the issue(s). Like many here, I don't have money to freely give a technician who will in turn place a Band-Aid on the problem; only for the refrigerator to disintegrate it and I succumb to the same issues month(s) later. They built the fridge and therefore they should have the ability to successfully repair it! Samsung should've just stuck with manufacturing electronics. I believed in their products until now. I, for one, will not be buying any of their major appliances anymore. Since they refuse to issue a recall notice on their clearly defected product I would like more information as to where and how to add my name to the lawsuit against them.

We have had it fixed repeatedly during the last year at $100 minimum each time only for the problem to return within a month. Now it is every two weeks. I have learned what to look for, what sounds to listen for and to take the back panel off to defrost it myself. Granted it is 8 years old but as much as it cost it should have lasted much longer. I spent $5,000 for my Samsung refrigerator. May it be a cultural difference I really don't care. We're in America and we have high standards with our products. Our refrigerator ice maker gave us problems almost day one.

After 3 attempts to repair the ice maker I contacted Samsung and over a course of several months it was unbelievable to have to call the number that only answers the phone for 2 hours a day and if you're not first in line you will not have an answer to your ring. If you try to call back it goes to busy. Based on my persistence and anger I made sure I was first in line. Then they make me jump through hoops knowing they sent repair guys who have designated my refrigerator ice maker unrepairable. So getting the information they wanted not that I would have to actually call back. They had an email address I could send the information but would not reply to my email which forced me to have to call back to this line that is only open for a couple hours per day! All I got was, "Sorry sir that's just our policy!"

Again through my persistence I did get the check minus the shipping minus the time it took for all 3 repairs for me to take off of work minus the continued frustration and time aggravation to contact them over and over! On top of this it even gets worse. They wanted a picture of the power cord cut. This is to assure them I won't throw it in the garage and use it there! I am not writing for failed ice maker. I am writing for the arrogance of a company to have policies set against the consumer and America needs to know it!

I bought a new Samsung 33 in. W 17.5 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator at Home Depot and within the first year it started leaking. As it was still under warranty I called to have someone look at it. Unbeknownst to me, Samsung does not service my area, despite living only a few miles from the Home Depot where I bought it. Surprisingly, Samsung offered me a refund in lieu of service. While I would have preferred service on the fridge, I saw that this a common problem and there is a class action lawsuit against Samsung for this fridge. As well, I didn’t want a fridge with a defunct warranty. So, I accepted their offer for a refund and had them come pick up my fridge, buying a new one out of pocket to replace it.

Six weeks and 50 phone calls later I am yet to see any refund, only a trail of multiple ticket numbers and crossed wires. This process has truly been the most inefficient, contradicting, and burdensome experience I have had with a company in my thirty plus years. Each person has told me something different and no comprehensive steps have been given. At one point recently, I was told that I was going to get an exchange. Well, I already bought a new fridge to replace the one they took and who would want a fridge with all these issues, that can’t be warrantied, plus that’s not what I had been told the entire time.

So now I am out $1000 buying a replacement fridge and have no signs of being reimbursed. Many people are struggling with bills and for one of the largest corporations in the world to take advantage of their consumers in this way is truly sickening to me. I can’t imagine what a struggling family would do in this situation, having to spend hours on the phone, and hundreds of dollars out of pocket, not knowing if this corporation just completely screwed them over.

While I wait to see if I get a refund or if it’s theft, I can only advise other consumers to stay far away from any Samsung appliance purchase. I advise any retailers to reconsider selling their products, or at the least, warn your consumers that Samsung doesn’t service many major metropolitan areas – even if it’s right by the store it came from. Lastly, I would like to tell Samsung that you can do a lot better. I am sure you try to break a lot people through this process, hoping they will just give up, as most of us don’t have time during our day to call up a 1-800 number and explain to a new person what the situation is, every couple of days, for weeks on end. I am beyond disappointed with this process and I will never purchase nor recommend any of your products or services.

We too should have done better homework before purchasing a Samsung refrigerator. We purchased this model after a kitchen remodel project almost 4 years ago; what a mistake. It has been a nightmare owning this refrigerator. We have gone through 3 technicians from the same repair company and am currently writing this review waiting for the 4th tech. to show. Every tech. so far has confirmed the same problem each time; icing up around the fan blade area causing terrible loud noises until the fan seizes up and stops; causing the fridge section to not cool anymore.

We have given up with the ice maker not working sometimes and just use bagged ice now. Like others seem to be facing; Samsung seems to refuse there could be an engineering problem with their product. We are planning on looking for a new (non Samsung) product after this 4th technician de-ices the fridge again. Samsung has not just yet figured out how to make a long lasting cooling unit; or maybe they don't want to?

Repair guy came and said it was going to cost 900 something dollars to get it fixed. I paid 2 grand for the fridge and it's less than 2 years old. This seems ridiculous and unfair.

When I called Samsung's 1-800 number the lady kept telling me it was out of warranty after a year, she kept telling me that they created a kit to fix it which lets me know that it's had a problem and they know it but I have to pay for it. When I told them that I have a Frigidaire sitting on my back porch that's rusted but still working and it doesn't have a warranty she said, "Yes ma'am I understand your frustration but apparently there's nothing I can do about it. Only resolution Samsung has offered is to defrost the refrigerator. Really, it's a self defrosting, yet now we have to unload and let it thaw out 2-3 times a year. This problem with their refrigerators is noted by numerous people on the internet, yet Samsung offers no remedy and it appears this problem occurs with many of their refrigerators going back several years. I spent over $2500 for a new Samsung counter depth refrigerator in mid 2015 after I remodel my kitchen. It works fine for about 1 1/2 year. After 1 1/2 year, I started to have problems. A year ago the freezer will not go down to the temperature I set. Even I set it to minor 8 degree F, it only went down 15 degree F. I was advised by some website to reset the refrigerator by turning off the power overnight. I did and it worked again. Six months ago, no ice came out from the ice maker. I open the ice maker and found it completely frozen. I turned the power off and blow some warm air to melt the ice. After I removed the ice, it worked again.

A couple weeks ago, the freezer warmed up again. This time, I know "resetting" the refrigerator can only solve the problem for a few months so I called Samsung service center. A technical came, open the freezer and spent half an hours checking. He told me that defrost sensor went bad and the ice built up blocking the cold air from entering the freezer. Also the cover needed to be replaced. I ask him if the repair will take care of the ice maker frozen problem. He told me that it is a different problem and many people have the same problem due to design issue and Samsung offered to repair it free even warranty expired. I called Samsung but with no luck, Samsung refused to have it fixed. Repairing the ice maker will cost another $400.

The technician left and 2 days later, another technician came with the parts. He did some more checking and told me that the cover did not need to be replaced but the control board did not send power to the heater. Unfortunately, the previous technician did not check the control board so he need to order the control board and will come back later. He told me that I should purchase extended warranty. I went to online chat with Samsung's "Chat site" and was told that I can purchase extend warranty even the refrigerator warranty expired. The gentlemen even told me that the I should get some discount for the current repair if I elected to purchase extended warranty. He gave me the number to call.

I called Samsung extended warranty department and found out that extend warranty cost $550 a year and will be effective 30 days after all repairs were done and I needed to show them receipts of all repairs. There will be no discount to current repair either. I was surprised that extended warranty cost $550/year for a refrigerator. The conclusion was the refrigerator will experience problems very often, maybe an average of once a year because average repair cost will be 4 to 5 hundred dollar each time. This policy tells us to expect Samsung refrigerator to be repaired once a year.

This morning, I found out that the water dispenser at the refrigerator started leaking. Oh boy, another problem I have to deal with. I did a quick estimate. It will cost me about $1450 to have everything repaired and spend $550 for a one year extended warranty. That is $2000. Should I buy a new one instead. My last refrigerator was a 20 years old GE. It is still in the garage working fine. The other one was a 35 years old Whirlpool. I gave it away when I purchased the Samsung. My GE and Whirlpool gave me a combined 55 years of trouble free service while the Samsung gave me 3 problems in 2 1/2 years.

We renovated our entire kitchen in Samsung appliances. Our $3,300.00 4-door flex refrigerator lasted 2.5 years and my wife and I have been fighting with customer service (CS), since November 2017, to get them to honor their warranty. CS initially sent an authorized service person who tried to fix it and recharged the refrigerant. He stated that if this didn't fix the issue, since it was a sealed system, it is un-repairable. It worked for approximately 2 months and the issue returned. This points to a slow leak in the sealed system which has a 5 yr part/labor warranty. Next time we called they claimed they couldn't issue another ticket because our serial number had a refund already issued against it, though the refund wasn't in our name or sent to us. We feel their error is not our problem and shouldn't delay our warranty service request. They wouldn't budge.

Since then we've heard nothing but excuses and "we'll call you in a week". Another CS rep claimed the vendor (Home Depot) must have shipped a unit that had been previously returned (laughable), Home Depot doesn't stock the appliances they're shipped straight from Samsung. We both actually heard these claims on our phone. Every time you call you have to re-explain the issue to them and I'm sure they keep a file on your case. Now they're asking me to remove the label from the appliance and send a picture to them (doesn't that invalidate the warranty?). This has been the most frustrating experience we've ever had. You'd think such a big company would want their name to stand out in a positive light.

WE ARE NEVER BUYING ANOTHER SAMSUNG APPLIANCE AGAIN. I'm contacting my state's Attorney General's office and the FTC about our issue. We may not be able to get financial relief but, if it is determined that what they're doing is illegal, they will spend money in legal fees and fines. There are state and federal consumer laws regarding warranties. I hope this word gets out so maybe they'll change their ways. Best to document all contacts with them to show how they treat you. Their service techs don't give paperwork so you gotta keep all emails, texts msg, phone records to present your case.

Samsung at first wanted to fix the compressor, but since there were no techs near where I live, they decided to refund our money. It took an agonizing 2 months of trying to get them to give us our money. One customer service rep laughed at me when I asked what would happen if it took longer to get our refund before our new fridge and she laughed and said, “Mam, it’s not going to take that long.” That was only 1 week into the process. One representative gave me a fake # when I asked to talk to someone higher up. They even made me cut the cord of the fridge and take a picture of it and send it to them.

I was without a fridge for 2 months and still no refund. They would tell me someone would be calling and no one would ever call. I called at least twice a week if not more and they would just give me the runaround. But would always say not to get rid of the fridge until we get the refund. We no longer could go any longer without a fridge so we went ahead and ordered a new one - Whirlpool this time. I got my delivery date, so I called Samsung to let them know that our new fridge was coming and they would be taking away our Samsung fridge so I needed to make sure that they had everything they needed before it went.

Samsung told me NOT to get rid of it until I got the refund. I asked when will I get my refund? Every week, they would say, within 2-3 days and every week would pass and NO REFUND. Our new fridge came and I immediately called Samsung to see if I could send it with the delivery guy because he would take it away for free. They said no. So now we are stuck with our old fridge with nowhere to take it unless we pay $200 to dump it. Samsung did not care, they said it was not their responsibility. I will NEVER buy anything Samsung again! They have the worst customer service and products.
