My husband and I purchased a new home July 2016. Kitchen had brand new appliances. We already had a repair done in Samsung dishwasher in which took over a week to get repaired. That was only after 5 uses. December 23, 2016 my refrigerator failed. Lost everything. Called the customer service at Samsung because they are brand new appliances. They should not be failing. The few people that I spoke to were not able to help get someone out. Spoke to supervisor. Got a local repair to come out that Friday to tell us what we known it was the compressor. It's a holiday weekend, company was coming and a baby in house. Samsung certainly did not see our frustrations. The guy at repair center said it will take 3 to five days for part to come in. That brings us to the middle of the week. Called repair center said it may be in Friday.
I called Samsung again today 12/27/16 and told them the issue. Basically there is nothing they could do other than wait for the part even though it will be almost 2 weeks without a refrigerator that should not have failed (in warranty repair). I asked the supervisor at Samsung if they can expedite the part. She said no there's nothing they can do other than wait. Again I tried pleading my case. I have a baby in the house and other young children not to mention it is 60 out in RI today and losing everything in coolers. They did not resolve this pressing issue or the fact that I lost too and bottom of the food in refrigerator that is worth about 300 and the food I had to replace that I lost. Their customer service is just trained to patch the problem. They sound more like counselors than trying to make their product right.
I'm now just starting to deal with Samsung and what a disappointment. My icemaker is not making ice very fast and never has filled the container. I get about a half sandwich Ziploc bag full after 3 days. The fridge is only 4 months old and I have spent almost a month of that running test that they are having me do to try to fix it. Now it looks like they want me to send a part from my freezer to them to look at on my dime. That isn't going to happen. As far as I'm concerned they can come and fix it. I don't have the means or even know if I'm sending the proper part to them to fix, Not to mention, I'm not going to take a chance on breaking something taking it apart.
I purchased this from Home Depot and shame on them. They should be held somewhat responsible as they sell this product to their customers and have been for years and I'm sure knowing full well the problems Samsung has with their fridges. I asked before I purchased it if there were any problems with this brand, and the answer I got was not a one, it is one of the best fridges they sell. I would not recommend buying a Samsung fridge to anyone and I would definitely be interested taking part in a class action lawsuit.
I bought the Samsung French door refrigerator last Thanksgiving and it has been nothing but trouble ever since. The ice maker clogs and the refrigerator will not hold the temperature I set. We have had a repair person here numerous times (bought it from Lowe’s) who failed to repair it and dented my refrigerator door as well. Much food has been spoiled. And now it is Christmas and we have no refrigerator we can count on. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!! You'll be sorry!! Thank God it's winter in Pennsylvania and I can keep my food outside. Hope the raccoons don't have a feast!!
I purchased a new refrigerator in June of 2016. The refrigerator was on back order and was received on July 2016, 1 month later. Purchased online from Best Buy. In December 2016 the refrigerator side stopped working. Called Samsung, ticket made, service ticket created, local repair sent to review. Tech said parts were needed and has received numerous calls on same issue. Fans seized and no cooling.
When I purchased this refrigerator I felt it was to be a good 10 to 15 years before I would have any problems. My last fridge was a hand-me-down Frigidaire from my mom but felt I would go to a more futuristic appliance with bells and whistles. I was wrong. I have since lost over $400 dollars in spoiled groceries. I cannot use it because it does not cool. Lights are ice. I keep calling Best Buy and Samsung, and get the runaround. Samsung, ticket still open, parts in limbo. Best Buy won't accept it back since it's past 45 days of original purchase. I still owe $1,200.00 on a $1,650.00 fridge.
I wish I would have checked more reviews on these Samsung appliances. This is to warn others of what can happen to you if you do get such an appliance. Also to point out how Best Buy and Samsung support DEFECTIVE appliances. Samsung thumbs down. "Sorry can't help you," is the answer. Best Buy thumbs down. "Sorry not our problem after 45 days. Pay 3 times for service and maybe we replace it." Very disappointed with Best Buy on this enigma. Will hashtag this on Twitter and Facebook until I finish paying for it, and hopefully help some other sap from making the wrong purchase, and where NOT to purchase this item with no support or lemon law for defective products that should last at a minimal 5 to 10 years. Very disappointed.
I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator last year. I didn't get refrigerator delivered till January and the ice maker stopped making ice. When I called Samsung they told me it goes from date of purchase so it is not covered. What poor customer service and I will never purchased another Samsung product ever again. I planning to contact the Better Bureau and any other government agency to complain. How can you not cover a product that was not even delivered to my home?
Broke down in a little over a year and Samsung will not help me at all. Paid 3000 thinking higher priced was better. Never again. And Samsung won't even send me replacement parts. Nor will they return my calls. Worst experience ever.
This very expensive 4 French door refrigerator (over $3000) quit cooling within 2 years of purchase, and Samsung is non-responsive. My story sounds like the same thing others are experiencing. Samsung supposedly scheduled service with an independent contractor to come look at it and he never showed up because no one ever told him -- they dropped the ball completely. They can't be rescheduled for at least 2 more weeks. I have been receiving the same line, ("it's not my department") from Samsung for every call I make. Meanwhile, my food is spoiling and I am hoping we don't end up with food poisoning from improperly cooled food. I paid too much for this one to run out and buy another. So we use. It is apparent that once Samsung gets your money they do not care. In my experience, this is a terrible product and bad company that should stick to making televisions -- not refrigerators.
We purchased a complete Samsung kitchen from HHGregg 4 years ago when we upgraded our kitchen. We've had issues with the ice maker freezing up almost since day one, but have continued to manually defrost. Now, here's the horror story. We returned home from Thanksgiving holiday to find our house flooded! Yep, you guessed it. The refrigerator was the culprit. It malfunctioned, and the inside of the fridge was literally filled with water! We had all hardwood floors, and every one of them has to be replaced, in addition to other repairs.
Well, Samsung was quick to set up repair service through a third party contractor. The "authorized" repair person doesn't have a clue what he's doing. And, like Samsung, their customer service is the worst. I spoke to a Samsung rep again today, and expressed I did not want this refrigerator, that I wanted a new one. I got what I perceive to be the standard answer, and that's "your appliance is no longer warranted, and all we can do is to repair it for you." What kind of crap is that when you have thousands of complaints about your defective product? After reading the complaints here, I noticed a few persons recommending a class action lawsuit. We're in for sure. I'm done with Samsung appliances and after $50,000 in damages and repairs I certainly feel I'm justified!
BOUGHT SAMSUNG FRIDGE & DISHWASHER FOR A TOTAL OF over three thousand dollars. Spent 2 hours with their service rep, to no avail, with no help. Except kept putting me on hold over and over. When calling & asking for help Kept me on the phone for more than 2 hours total. The fridge keeps freezing over in the bottom and Deli drawers, Dish washer leaks and replaced both flow meter replaced turbidity sensor both sensors in dish washer at a cost of over four hundred $$ for service & parts from Samsung and repair shop. So both still don't work and repair man coming again tomorrow for the 4th time at a other service charge.
Each time on returning service call one hundred thirty five dollars each. Dish washer won't fill & leaks... and fridge drain lines still clogged, fan won't work either in bottom of fridge compartment. Bottom deli drawers fill with water. This is been going on for several weeks now. Very poor customer service. Suggest any one check out other problems before you buy, don't just take my experience as judgment. Check out other also.
Ice bucket didn't work. Two days ago they run. It didn't work. I don't have this refrigerator three months and started having trouble - lost all my food. Then the ice maker didn't work - came and put a new one in. Then the spring fell out of the ice maker changed it tell me they're coming out and never get here - don't call.
My light went out and could not get the bulb out. So I unclipped it and it was melted so I took down other light and same thing - just not as bad. Apparently Samsung has a lot of product fire safety issues. Check your refrigerator light sockets and let me know. I think this is is a huge issue and you can't tell unless you drop the lights down. It's hidden on top.
We bought a French door, bottom freezer, Samsung refrigerator in 2012. In 2015 it quit making ice. I replaced the ice maker. In less than 2 years that ice maker quit. I called Samsung. They said they could not do anything because the refrigerator was too far out of warranty. A $2000.00 refrigerator should not require ice maker replacement every 2 or so years. I WILL NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE AGAIN. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TIME, MONEY, AND FRUSTRATION, AND DO THE SAME!
I had an old Whirlpool fridge, probably close to 20 years old and was still working, but I was updating my kitchen and wanted to update the appliances. I got a good deal on a stove and dishwasher and microwave, so I was left with the fridge. I went to Lowe's and bought a Samsung. Priced right and full of features and looked cool, boy was this a mistake. After 3 months and losing an entire freezer and fridge full of food, I lost all, probably close to $400 had to be thrown out. Samsung sent a repair technician to my house and he replaced the control panel, up and working again.
About 5 months later stopped again, this time, at my expense $300 later and another control panel, working again. The water stopped, then compressor, then ice maker, now freezer. These Samsung fridges are junk. How they can even be sold is questionable. Samsung DOES NOT stand behind their products and there is no technical support, just a recommendation to call a repair technician. I have never had so much trouble from one appliance in my life. I would never recommend this product to anyone. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE PRETTY LOOKS. The guys are crap and technicians will tell you they are junk as well. DO NOT BUY!
I had a very bad experience with the Samsung refrigerator. Within 3 years of time the compressor of the fridge conched out. We are in tremendous trouble currently. It's been 4 days and there has been no response from the company. They are just delaying it saying that the compressor is not available. I would suggest no one should buy Samsung refrigerators.
My Samsung refrigerator is less than 5 years old. The original cost was about $2100. So far, I have spent about $1100 to keep it working properly. I have had ice maker problems and control board issues. Most appliance repair companies will not work on the Samsung refrigerator. The retailers should help but good luck with that. I continue to be astounded at the standards and ethics of American business retailers. They know this product is bad but they continue to sell the refrigerator.
Do yourself a favor and never buy a Samsung refrigerator.
I have purchased a refrigerator of Samsung because that time I think it's good but I am wrong that time. There is no any product reliability and worst customer service in every parameter. Very bad experience. They didn't help for their customers. I already sent a mail to CEOs, technical dept. But there is no solution about my concern. Only 1 month ago warranty expired & they are not doing any kind of goodwill. Actually I learnt from this concern they don't want that customer again purchase their product in future.
I purchased a brand new refrigerator from Lowes September of 2016. A couple weeks later the ice machine stopped giving ice. I called Samsung and first they told me to reset the ice machine and wait 24 hours. I did that and that didn't work. So I called back and they told me that my 1 year warranty was over and I would have to pay them for service. I DON'T KNOW HOW A 1 YEAR WARRANTY CAN EXPIRE IN TWO MONTHS. It is December of 2016 that I am typing this review and I barely purchased my refrigerator in September of 2016. Either Samsung doesn't know how to count or the employees are high on drugs. This is so wrong. So I had to send my receipt to EFAX@sea.samsung.com and wait 24 to 48 hours. Well after a week of waiting I called back and they said that they never received my email. They are just trying to kill time for the warranty to really expire. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING SAMSUNG!!!
I want to share one of my WORST EXPERIENCES IN LIFE with you. If you really want experience non-professionalism and unethical attitude of the company towards customer grievances, then buy Samsung product especially Samsung refrigerator. I want to share a personal experience of non-professional and unethical attitude of this company, i.e. Samsung which is one of the top most brands in India and across the world. My refrigerator has been out of order for the last one and half months.
The authorized service center of Samsung informed that my refrigerator cannot be repaired as company has stopped manufacturing small part. We purchased the refrigerator on 08.04.2011. Just 5 years after the date of purchase, the refrigerator started malfunctioning. The authorized service center of Samsung was contacted who took more than a month's time to inform that the defective part cannot be replaced because company has stopped producing it.
I was surprised how company can disown the responsibility of providing spare parts after 5 years as hardly anyone replaces refrigerator in India after 5 years. In fact, the CEO of the company who claims that if any customer has any grievance they can directly contact him and the same will be resolved immediately also did not bother to reply the mail sent to him or get it resolved. I am sharing this WORST experience with you so that it may reach as many people as possible. I request you to please share with your friends, colleagues and all known unknowns so that they can be warned about SAMSUNG PRODUCT.
We purchased a 3 door refrigerator from Sears in January 2013. We purchased the 5 year extended warranty. The Sears repairman has been here 4 or 5 times. He replaced the icemaker once. Came back to fix the icemaker, which kept freezing up and leaking onto the dispenser tray. This leak caused our "STAINLESS STEEL" door to rust. It is still leaking and rusting more. We have talked to Samsung customer reps who told us it was cosmetic and not covered under our warranty. The repairman even told them it was not our fault. But, this did not help our plight. Will not buy anything Samsung ever again. We asked to have them replace our rusty door. Of course this did not happen.
Samsung Refrigerator RF 23HCEDBWW. Started having problems within six months with ice maker making noise and only giving crushed ice and water drips out of the dispenser constantly on the door. Do not buy Samsung refrigerator.
TWICE I have had a repairman come for the fridge. TWICE it was ice buildup. TWICE in one year. The third time it will be replaced with another brand. Because the repair is starting to equal another fridge! Samsung you make these and you can't fix the ice buildup problem? What the hell is wrong with you people? Do you not care? I'm a widow and can't afford a repairman twice a year to deice this piece of crap. When searching google for the problem there are a million videos about ice buildup. SO YOU KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM. FIX IT!
When our refrigerator quit after 24 years, I was excited to receive our new Samsung refrigerator. The unit was on sale, but my particular unit had been mislabeled in the store, so the salesman gave me the listed price. Perfect! Well, less than 8 months later, the ice maker just quit - on the day of our Thanksgiving dinner. I read all the literature and watched the videos via the QR Codes. My husband and I both reset the ice maker and waited 24 hours. We changed the water filter, even though no indicator light suggested it needed changing.
My first call to Samsung left me beyond frustrated. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told no one was available. This technician (I use this word loosely) had me repeat everything that I had already done. Then she finally told me to turn the ice maker off on the door panel and wait 90 minutes for it to start making ice again. When I asked how it would possibly make ice when it's off, she just kept repeating her instructions. What did I do? I turned the ice maker off. I wondered if this was some hard reset that wasn't listed in any material.
Then came call number 2. I turned the ice maker on and gave it a little time. Nothing. I told the second Samsung person what the first person had me do. He said, "Well, your ice maker won't work if it's turned off." You think? He started asking me to do everything again...checking filter, resetting machine. He then asked me the temp settings. I told him -2 for freezer and 36 for the fridge. He said I needed to change the fridge to 37. When I asked him why setting my fridge one degree warmer would help, he had no answer. He then told me to wait 2-3 hours and call them back if it was not working. I said, "Look, I've been doing the same procedures for over 24 hours now. Can't you schedule someone to come fix this?" He then informed me that it was 'procedure'.
Call number 3. When the third 'technician' started to ask me questions, I cut her off. I explained that I wasn't going to repeat everything again for a third person, especially when my husband and I had already performed the same steps the day before. She apologized and told me that someone would be in my area on Friday, but the service department would call and confirm. I received a call from their service department. It was an automated message, asking me to wait. When nothing happened after several minutes, I hung up. On the second call, I decided to put my phone on speaker and go about my tasks. After 30 minutes, no one had picked up! I then called them back. After a few calls, I finally reached someone. I was told that they did not have me down for service for Friday and that the next available day would be the next Thursday.
So, we are now waiting to see if someone will actually show for Thursday's appointment. I can't believe that something is broken in such little time. I usually read reviews before purchasing any big ticket items. I didn't with this purchase. When your fridge goes out, you simply go out and get one, preferably one that can be delivered quickly. I won't make this mistake again, and I definitely will not be purchasing a Samsung! I don't see how this company is going to stay in business with poor quality and poor service.
Keeps freezing up. Had repair 4 times and now the company has no one to service it. My dryer just went out and it is only 2 yrs old and same thing - no one to repair it and the motor has a 10 yr warranty. Crappy customer service! They just keep telling me someone will call with accommodations. In the meantime I have lost tons of food and been without a dryer for 2 weeks. Not sure why Lowe's and Best Buy still sell these products when there is no one to service them while they are under warranty. So frustrated!
My 28 cf Samsung French door refrigerator with ice and water in the door has been acting up AGAIN. It was fine for the first year, then the bottom of the icemaker (above the ice bin) started frosting over. Luckily I had used Discover who honored their free year of extended warranty. The repairman replaced the control unit and said the problem had to do with the heater of the icemaker that heats the ice to let it release. $400 but Discover sent me a check. The problem started to reoccur several months later and now, 10 months later the icemaker is once again not dropping ice because it is blocked by frost. The ice is not as hard as it should be and I get water out of the icemaker before I get ice. The fridge is set at 35, but is 40 on a thermometer.
I called the same repair place. Only a 90-day warranty on the part. They aren't doing Samsung (or LG) anymore. The parts take too long to come in and they get too many callbacks. Great. It was a good repairman, now I'll be at the mercy of the schmucks that Samsung sends. There should be a class action suit. The mfg has a duty to produce a product that performs the function is it meant to do. It's call warranty of merchantability I think. Sony got sued once for larger screen TV's that failed in less than 4 years and they did an extended warranty for those sets. I think this fridge could be the same.
Updated 12/08/2016: I am updating my review from 12/2/16. I googled the problem of ice buildup and refrigerator being warm. My ice was soft and I called the company that did the repair less than one year ago for frost buildup on the ice maker. They told me it is only a 90 day warranty on the parts and labor for the repair (part warrantied by Samsung for only 90 days!). They also told me they no longer service Samsung and LG.
For Samsung part of the reason is that the parts take up to a month to get and also they got a lot of callbacks on the Samsung jobs. I had had trouble even finding anybody to work on it last year so I hope I can keep fixing it myself... I took the advice I found online and tried to defrost the ice maker using codes. It worked a little, but I had to resort to a hair dryer and melt the ice off the underside of the ice tray and melt the ice behind the ice maker that was apparently blocking air flow to the ice maker and also the fan that circulates the fridge air.
We now hear the unit turning on like it used to and the ice is better (harder). It is pathetic that the replacement control board also failed. Neither the original nor the replacement lasted a full year, even though the repairman had told me the part he replaced had been changed by Samsung due to a problem with it. Really seems like a class action case to me since they acknowledged the defect.
Discovered ice machine was not working properly on newly delivered refrigerator the first day in use. Contacted warranty division for repair and promised contact with 48 hrs. After 2 days without contact and again called warranty service. They reassigned repair ticket to another company. After another 4 days without contact I again called warranty division and was issued a new repair ticket number to yet another repair company. Was contacted by Samsung Tracking Service to check status of repair. Upon hearing that no contact had yet been made by repair company. Tracking Services said they would expedite repair order.
After another 7 days without any other repair contact I contacted retailer (Home Depot) for return/refund. After hearing my story, agent put me on hold while she contacted assigned repair company who informed her that they had no record of repair ticket. She reissued ticket (under same number) and promised a quick contact from them. Ironically, a few hours later I was again contacted by Tracking Service inquiring as to the status of my repair. In our discussion she informed me that her records showed that the repair company had indeed received the repair ticket in the initial transmission and offered to put my case into the Samsung Resolution Department for review. As they were Samsung and has hired the (non-responsive) repair companies in question, I asked her to contact them to expedite. She proceeded to inform me that she was unable to contact their repair company on my behalf.
I fail to understand what Samsung's definition of Customer Service could possibly be. They know there's a problem with your brand new Samsung Large Appliance. They know there are multiple failures (3) in their repair chain, they continue to ask you how is your repair going, but they refuse to actually "step-in" and take charge to resolve the problem. Instead, leaving their consumer to contend with the (obvious) dregs of the appliance repair world that they've chosen to repair their products. Guess with everything in the recent news regarding Samsung guess I should be happy that my refrigerator hasn't blown up yet. The LAST Samsung product that will ever enter my home. Buyer beware!
Just purchased less than one year ago. After 3 months the freezer frosts my things so badly I can't identify what is what. Then the ice maker stops making ice from time to time. I called and they sent out a service guy. He said it was normal. I accepted that but then it got worse. I called Samsung cust. service and sent them pictures. They said I would be able to get a replacement fridge. They gave me a reference number to give to Best Buy. I did that and Best Buy said the number did not work. Whatever that meant. Since then I have called every month for 5 months and they always give me a bogus number. Yesterday I called again and they said I would be getting a call from their executive customer service center within the hour with a correct number. I never heard from them. Samsung has lied and lied to me and given me the runaround. I will never buy a Samsung product again.
After 7 months of having a new Samsung refrigerator in black stainless the finish began chipping. When I called Samsung they said it was not covered under warranty. Agreed, but this should not be a conversation I had to have. They are not willing to stand by their product or their customers. They told me I could pay to have it repaired. Will never buy Samsung again!!!
We had purchased a Samsung fridge with bottom mount freezer. After the first year it started leaking water, there was no ice or water maker, the digital display started malfunctioning and huge ice build up in freezer bottom. Called about it, nobody would do anything for me. Emailed a few times and responded with an automatic response talking about my dishwasher, when I emailed about my fridge. Very disappointed with customer service, and the quality of their appliances.
We bought this fridge in 10/2008 when we remodeled our kitchen. The valve has been leaking a while according to the insurance adjuster who denied our claim because of the length of time it leaked and because the valve is defective we are now looking at having to replace valve, floor 2 cabinets and some subfloor. We bought this appliance knowing it would be great. We have many Samsung items and like the quality. But we are disappointed that this happened. We are struggling with life as it is my husband was diagnosed with Arachnoiditis in 2014 and had to go on disability. In June 2016 he had a brain stem stroke and I had to quit work to care for him 24/7. So coming up with the money to repair this while leaving off of disability will be rough. But I don't want my fridge to fall thru the floor. Help is needed, requested and prayed for.
We bought a Samsung RF26J7500SR 3 door refrig eleven months ago. WHAT A POS. The refrig compartment fan system keeps freezing up (repairman said it's an inherent design error! ), preventing it from staying cold. We threw out everything inside on Labor day as all the food spoiled waiting the 12 days for the repairman. Then I was told we had to reschedule since the refrig needed to be unplugged for 48 hours for all the internal ice covering the fan blades to melt. On the return visit days later parts were replaced and a factory anti-freezing kit installed.
Now, two months later, the fridge is full of Thanksgiving leftovers and it's warm inside again, seems like the same problem. Samsung customer service can only confirm it's broken, gave me the number of a local repair guy that will fix it under warranty. I assume the repairman will give me an appointment 12 days from when they call me back, which was how long it took for them to come to the house for the first repair!!! Looks like we will throw out everything again. What a joke. I will have to take another vacation day to wait for the repairman. Anyone who buys a Samsung refrigerator needs their head examined!!! I will never ever buy another Samsung appliance of any kind.
I bought a whole 4 piece Samsung kitchen appliance set which the oven element burnt out. Samsung didn't have any suggestions. I had it fixed. Samsung was no help. Now a few months later today being thanksgiving the fridge RS25J500D stopped cooling. Come to find out it lost all its refrigerant. I call them up. They dummy up again. Now I have to figure out if I'm going to get it repaired. I'm not rich. I paid $3800.00 for the 4 pieces. I would never ever in this lifetime recommend Samsung products or purchase them. They don't care and they don't back up their product. So that's my story. I hope they go out of business. I work hard for my money. I am so pissed off right now.
Got fridge delivered and moved it in two weeks later due to remodel. No ice. Called service center again and again and each time given instructions on resetting the thing. Nothing. Then finally got service ticket and supposed to get call. No call. Called Samsung back. Said allow 48 hours for the call. 72 hours - no call. Still waiting on call. Samsung confirms ticket number and contact information. Service people on the phone treat you like an idiot. One guaranteed me that changing the temperature on the ice maker would solve the problem. Another told me the wires on top of the door hinges were the problem. Reset the icemaker about ten times. Water in the door is fine. Another one said it was not getting water. There is only one water supply line. Another said maybe the unit is not level. What bull that was. Nothing works.
Purchased: August 2015. Samsung side by side with dual cooling, ice maker, high end. Best Buy is promoting these with a vengeance. Within two months of purchase, I called because compressor was making hard rattling noise. "Yeah, they do that," said the technician. Called a second time about 6 weeks later because noise did not improve, only got worse. "Yeah, they are loud aren't they," said the technician, "but it is cooling, right?" Fast forward to October, 2016. This refrigerator can be described as: 1) "Ready to launch", 2) "A Mack Truck idling in my kitchen", 3) "a flat head V-8 without oil" - Granted, these are hyperbole, but the point is, this is a refrigerator guys, not a power tool. Not only exceptionally loud but the thing runs constantly.
I know all new refrigerators are low watt, run a long time efficient just like my prior 18 year old Kenmore, but just about every morning after it has been sitting there with the door closed for 7 hours, it is cranking away, seemingly at its loudest. So I called Best Buy because I bought the 5 year warranty. No problem, we will send someone out right away. Guy shows up, "Yeah, terribly noisy, we'll put in for a new compressor." Wow, that is great! Then there was this huge mess up between the Best Buy/Geek Squad hand-off to the people that were going to actually do the work. Two weeks later, technician shows up 10 days late. "That's the noise they make nowadays, yep. If your refrigerator was behind a cabinet, you would not hear all that noise, besides, today's units run at a higher speed." What a bunch of silly excuses. The guy left saying, "It is what it is." I say, "Samsung has a problem. The noise is not to be tolerated."
At this point I am going to see if I can trade this thing out for something else. Noise=loss of energy. I would love to put an amp meter on this for a period of time and see what energy levels this thing is really consuming. After this review, I am going to upload a video of this rickety mess on YouTube, write a bunch of friend and see if it will go viral. Back in August of 2015, all I wanted was a refrigerator that does not dominate my space, it is that bad, it is very annoying, unnecessarily so. Other than that, it is a nice unit and everything else works just fine. In fact, sometimes, but not always, it does run quietly. It is capable of running quietly, they just have a problem with it being noisy most of the time.
My fridge is only a little over a yr old and ice maker has gone out and cannot adjust freezer temperature. Everything is frozen solid! And when I changed water filter, water came out and flooded kitchen. Cost to repair is about $500. 00. I'll NEVER buy a Samsung product again--buyers beware.
We recently put an entire modern kitchen and addition on our home. At that point given we had for many years used Samsung we upgraded the white GE appliances to Samsung in our home as they were here when we bought it. We bought a new French door bottom drawer freezer fridge, pretty much top of the line at Home Depot. We bought the matching microwave model #ME21H705MQS/AC, and lastly also the matching stove with convection, steam cleaning. The fridge was delivered first and it would not shut off and was very loud to a point were it interrupted conversations. After following their processes and after the technician came and he agreed something was very wrong, we had to them go through their executive center who literally after 20 minutes told they would sent our request for this 4 day old fridge to their engineering department to see if we qualified to have to returned.
Home Depot were totally disconnected from this process. They told us they did not accept returns only repairs. We told them and Samsung should their technician who acknowledge this brand new fridge had significant issues and after the so-called executive center began by telling they would promptly resolve our issue. We told their executive center should their decision be to contradict their field technician and not replace and or return it we would seek legal counsel. They called later saying Samsung would return to Samsung. That process has taken 3 weeks since and the unit has been returned back and we await a refund. Think of the logistics involved in such a key appliance as a fridge and not just the food but having two in the house at the same time. We still do not have our refund.
Friday night my wife decided make popcorn for the first time as we are only at this home on weekends in our now month old over the range microwave. With seconds she was screaming as it was on fire with flames shooting out of the side panel on the right hand side. It filled our new kitchen with disgusting white thick terrible smelling smoke. We called Home Depot and again the nightmare starts all over with chasing out tails. In various conversations with service people they tells us there are silent recalls. We are not sure about that but in any case why are they shipping products that can cause fires?Google how often this happens!
I should have mentioned we have been asking to speak to a Samsung manager since this beginning with no feedback. Why should we keep the stove now??? Had we done our research this would not have happened. It is shame our home has been filled with Samsung products till this series of issues but never again!
The ice maker is a standard size and tends to produce ice adequately. HOWEVER, BE WARNED that Samsung ice makers are very poor quality. They tend to dispense crushed ice even when you don't want it. They definitely dispense broken bits of cubes constantly. I have contacted Samsung about this issue and their attitude is "well, that's just the way it is, too bad". It's a shame that a $3,000 refrigerator comes with such an inferior ice maker and even a bigger shame that Samsung thinks it's okay to sell you a fridge that spits ice in your floor every time you use it. Their customer service department said that if they send a technician out to look at it they will bill me because they don't consider this a defect. Huh?? Be informed before you buy a Samsung product.
Bought the brand new RF22K9581SR refrigerator with the computer panel in the door. Paid over $5,000.00 for it and I have never seen anything that scratches so easily. It is a beautiful refrigerator but even the glass pressing against the water dispenser lever scratches it. Shows all traces of fingerprints. You would think for an appliances that costs over $5,000.00 they would pay attention to that. I called Samsung and the agent did not even care.
In July 2016, I purchased a $3000 Samsung Refrigerator. It was noisy from the start and still is. I bought it from Home Depot who blames Samsung. Samsung blames Home Depot. More than 4 months later and 3 service companies, it still isn't repaired. I will never buy another Samsung product let alone a refrigerator or God help me Galaxy phone. All they had to do is replace my unit but they are too cheap to do so. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
I am not one to write product reviews but am so disappointed with my Samsung refrigerator. We bought our French Door Samsung refrigerator 2 years ago from Home Depot when we built our home. I loved it!!! Then about 3 months ago the refrigerator showed problems with cooling and the lowest temp we could maintain was 44 degrees and often cooled at 46. We had a Samsung certified tech come out and work on the refrigerator and he found coolant leaking. After a call to Samsung, Samsung told the tech the refrigerator could not be fixed. Now we are waiting Samsung's final decision as to what will be done. With Thanksgiving next week looks like I will be out buying a new refrigerator and it will NOT NOT NOT be a Samsung.
Samsung has got to be the WORST appliance manufacturer. We purchased all Samsung appliances, after our kitchen remodel. To date, we have had to replace the microwave, and now have to buy a new refrigerator. Both broke months after warranty.
I bought the Samsung French door, stainless steel refrigerator 2 years ago. It makes really loud noise and the ice machine ices over and we have to scrape ice dams weekly to get some ice. It doesn't deserve 1 star.
I hope you all do not consider purchasing Samsung products. We purchased a dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave in August 2015 from Home Depot. Recently the shelves in our freezer Model # RS25J500DSR/AA are falling from the guides. The shelves are not overloaded. Called Samsung... No help, said it was out of warranty. Asked me to call parts dept. I did and received the SAME SHELF!!! How in this world can I be the only one with a defective freezer shelf??? PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND...
Samsung Refrigerator RF4287HA. I am so upset with my refrigerator. My husband and I had our LG refrigerator, which was purchased in 2010, replaced with the Samsung one after we noticed that the inside cabinet was cracking all across the unit. We reviewed the reviews at the time the Samsung fridge was considered... We found great reviews...however, our experience has been nothing but. Our ice maker sticks and has water dripping off of the back, causing it to freeze over, the left side freezer door keeps freezing over with water causing it not to stick to the unit upon closing. We have had the back freezer wall unit replaced, the freezer door rubber replaced, the ice maker parts replaced, and guess what? It is still experiencing the same issues.
I am at my wits end right now. I am currently on the phone with Samsung again...waiting for customer service... Guess I will be waiting for another hour for someone to come to the line. I am frustrated because a unit this expensive should not have this many problems this soon. I thought Samsung was a good product but I may have to reconsider this thought. Repairmen are aggravated and so is my husband. Why are these units freezing up? I just don't understand this!!!
Oh wait... I almost forgot... the snack drawer control panel had to be replaced right after I received the unit and the doors have not closed properly since about that same time as well. I called Samsung about this problem, and they said that it should close properly and that they could not tell me why it was not doing so. A repairman came out and said that screws were missing. Called them back to asked for the screws to be sent to me. They wanted to charge me and said shortly thereafter, that they could not tell me which screws were missing. I needed to tell them information so that they could find out from a third party manufacturer... and yes, I am still on hold for a representative to come on the line. I am beyond done with this company... first it was their phones, then their washers, now the refrigerators and after all this typing, they just hung up the phone on me... Go figure!
Unfortunate, I had a very bad experience with my Samsung refrigerator that I purchased in Best Buy, 5 months ago. The First 3 months it worked perfectly, but after that, it started to do a terrible noise. Is like you have a truck inside the house. I called for a service and they came. At First the guy said, that it was the condenser. Then, he started to move the refrigerator back and forward, adjust some nuts in the back and left. The noise was better for almost a week. But it came back. When I called, I had to stay in the phone about 30 minutes, and the guy who took my service request, and was ready to send me somebody, suddenly said that I have to send a video with the noise, because it is a NORMAL noise.
At the end, he didn't give me a service number and just sent me an email with the website address, meaning he won't take care of me. I will have to go online and do it! I am so upset. Last night I have to close my bedroom's door, so I can sleep. I cannot have a nice dinner in my kitchen or dining room because the NORMAL noise of my refrigerator.
Will never purchase another Samsung anything. Purchased 28 cu ft refrigerator year and half ago. Problems w/ the ice maker from the day I purchased. Same as other customers - ice maker noisy and would freeze up. You call Samsung and they walk you through everything you have already done and then refer you to another number that will get back to you. When they do they leave a message to call back to the original number. Called again and was told I'd be referred to an authorized repair dealer. Then notified 3 days later that there was none in my area. I did some searching and found one who stated they were. They came out the next day and found the problem (definitely Warranty) but fridge was over year old. I had been dealing with this problem since I purchased it and was told noise was normal.
Took about 39 min for technician to discover the ice maker was assembled incorrectly from the factory. He reassembled it and put it back in and the ice maker has been working well (it's terribly slow) for 4 days now. No knocking and loud noises. Interesting that he figured it out and Samsung didn't have a clue. Apparently they have been installed in the factory incorrectly. I'll gladly join a class action suit against them! Samsung doesn't seem to care about the consumer at all. Samsung Blue Ray DVD player just quit after approximately a year. Had been a gift from our daughter. I love the fridge when it works but am very worried reading other complaints. Ice maker was terrible until technician from Back Canyon City (small town north Phoenix) came to the rescue. Thank you Jeremy of Accredited Appliance.
Samsung RF32FMQDBSR fridge won't cool, freezer fine - Paid over 3K for good looking fridge. We had a $300 fridge for 16 years that kept our food and beverages cold without a single problem, so I did not think it possible for a refrigerator to not do the very things it exists to do. But Samsung cracked that nut. Ice maker immediately made ice dam at back of drawer and froze the ice bucket in place. 5+ service calls on a brand-new fridge, never got it working. Tech said we could keep trying but it was a design flaw. Used cardboard and duct tape to seal it off.
After almost 2 years fridge stopped cooling. Warm beer and spoiling milk and food. Temp on the door reads 34 degrees. Bought thermometer, steady 50 degrees. Tried all the fixes I could find online, no effect. Service call, cleaned compressor area. No effect. Read reviews: sounds like it's a problem with coolant leak of the R600 coolant (2 different kinds of coolant for the 2 fridge compressors) which isn't sold in the US and is highly flammable, and will leak out again even if I replace it with the other coolant called R134A. Finding and fixing the leak means tearing out the guts.
Fridge is so new and so expensive I'm tempted to try to fix it. But I reviewed many posts -- it would be good money after bad. Looking for a free fridge on Craigslist. Consumer Reports highly recommended this fridge when I bought it. But it is a complete POS. Don't buy a Samsung anything. Their fridges don't refrigerate and their phones explode.
Purchased a french door model in 13 that has worked great. Never missed a beat, no complaints. Based on this success bought another more expensive with cold door in Nov 15. Last week which is early Nov 16 the center drawer control panel failed to respond to input. Samsung did send an authorized tech out that diagnosed the issue and had to replace the entire drawer which is currently on order. That is a big fail to me. Replacing an entire drawer vs the panel is poor design and worse poor reliability. This refrigerator has hardly been used.
Had I known what the reliability was of this product I would have either purchased an extended warranty which you cannot do with Samsung after the purchase or purchased another brand. I am now stuck with the knowledge that if something fails it will be expensive to fix and no way to lessen the pain with an extended warranty. Buyer beware. I purchased my 2nd Samsung refrigerator based on how great the first one has treated me...
I will never buy a SAMSUNG appliance ever again. I purchased a refrigerator. So I wound up with a lemon. I have spoken to at least 6 or 7 different people the ones that have not resolved any of my issues with the fridge...I even asked to speak to a supervisor and they told me that there was no one available. My freezer was making a horrible sound and the refrigerator part is not cooling properly. I keep getting a run around and no one can give me a straight answer. It is horrible. I paid over a $1,000 for this not even a year ago. They are liars and rude and their customer service people don't know what the hell they're doing. I hate them very BAD BAD BAD!!! EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD TO SEEK ANOTHER COMPANY LIKE SEARS TO COME TRY TO FIX THIS JUNK refrigerator. Let's see if they could fix it!!!
My wife and I purchased a new 4 door Samsung refrigerator from Home Depot. Upon it being delivered we noticed that the water on the door came out very slowly. We contacted Samsung over and over again. They told us an authorized service provider Precision TV would come over. They promised to come and just failed to show up. I fixed it myself and then contacted corporate, for reimbursement. They told me that after 2 months of being patient I should have let their provider fix it. (The ones that never showed up).
I also have been disappointed with their product. The icemaker always freezes up. When you call them they tell you to find a Samsung dealer to repair it. The first time it had a broken seal, but it was under warranty. The next two times, it was fixed for approximately two months. Now it doesn't work at all. I will never buy another product from them again. This refrigerator was expensive.
We purchased model #RF263BEAEBC and immediately had problems with the ice maker. It would leak water every time we used it and the ice would come out soft and mostly broken. After 5 service calls and a complete ice maker replacement during the 1 year MFG warranty, Samsung said there is nothing else they can do and left us with the same problem. Now the refrigerator is 1 year and 8 months old and is very noisy when it comes on and the ice maker problems are still there. I will never buy another Samsung product again. They DO NOT stand behind their product and make things right!
I have never been as disgusted as I am with Samsung appliances. I purchased a new stove and refrigerator about four years ago. It is now time for me to replace both appliances as they are falling apart and do not work properly. I have called Samsung customer service several different occasions. They are not helpful. You're on hold for 20 minutes to be told "you need to call another number." I feel as though they should stick to making stereos and televisions. That's all they're good for. I will never the rest of my life purchase another Samsung product period!
We bought the refrig cause Samsung was great on Electronics. We just wanted a refrig that would make ice cubes. We are seniors raising grandkids... but doesn't work. We have to make ice cubes in a tray.
The ice maker stopped working within a few days after owning the refrigerator. It freezes up requiring the ice maker to be removed and thawed out. This has to be a common problem with this refrigerator as it works for a few days then the problem repeats. I would not recommend buying any item from Samsung as I think they are just interested in ripping people off and not standing by their products. They got caught with the cell phones but appliances are harder to claim damages even if the damages are clear design problems.
I bought the RF263beasr/aa. Junk, junk and junk. Problem is plain and simple and should never occurred on a new Fridge. Icing problem on the back at the point that you can hear the fans hitting and scraping the ice. And the Ice maker also develops ICE. Read instructions and forums and I leveled the fridge. I made sure that the gaskets of the doors are fully closed and the gasket of the ice maker fully closes and seals the ice maker when door is closed. Fridge is 3 years old and it still has the same problems. I have to get the ice maker every month and use my hair dryer to deice the ice maker. I also once a week I force a defrost cycle plus turn the fridge off for 4 hours to let the coils defrost. My old previous fridge was a GE 15 years old. Nothing wrong with my old fridge (NOTHING, no ice maker problems nor icing problems).
I made the big mistake of remodeled the kitchen and bought new appliances. I bought Frigidaire stove, Microwave and dishwasher. My wife insisted on the SAMSUNG Fridge because of the looks and I pampered her... BIG MISTAKE!!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN!!!! SUPPORT SUCKS. Customer service SUCKS!!! One thing I love though: I am an IT Manager and I get to say and approve what Technology to buy in my office with 800 users and guess what!!!! I turn down everything Samsung!!! From printers, PCs, laptops, faxes, TVs, monitors, etc, etc ,etc!!! Nothing Samsung ever again... And any other agency that I do business with I spread the word!!!
Purchased 3 samsung appliances in 2013 and within 1 year the refrigerator has needed to be defrosted every 2 weeks as it freezes up and the water pools under the crispers. Was 2 days past warranty so therefore I needed to find a repairman to fix and absorb the expenses. Tried calling several appliance repair companies and none were willing to work on samsung products. Still am defrosting every 2 weeks. Have ordered parts online for it and replaced but nothing seems to solve the problems.
Just recently the washer that I purchased has been put on a recall and samsung has not responded to me since registering on the site. Went to the samsung site and tried the chat and again nothing, referred to the customer service line. I called this customer service number a couple of days before doing the chat thing and the representative I spoke with told me that if I registered on the site he couldn't help me. I would have to be patient. Running laundry on the delicate cycle makes the drying time 4 times as long and why should I have to put up with kitchen & laundry appliances that say they are energy efficient and carry the samsung name.
The dishwasher repair was so expensive I elected to buy a new Kenmore. The refrigerator nightmare has been going on for 3 months with Samsung customer no service. These people jerked me around for 3 months (over 20 hours talking with them to fix the problem). My advice is do NOT allow Samsung to send out a repairman. Samsung will tell you it's covered (as did the repairman) but when the job is complete you will be charged. I then got stuck with a large bill. If yours breaks call your own appliance repairman and save yourself your sanity. Samsung is a greasy/sleazy company selling beautiful but poorly made appliances. I will never buy or recommend their products.
I purchased a really expensive model in April. The ice maker broke two months ago. I have been trying to get it fix for two months with no luck. They keep giving me the run around telling me that they will call back within 48 hours and they don't. I have left messages all the way to the Executive Customer Relations Dept and NO ONE calls back. They told me Comtech (321-332-0830) had my case and I am TIRED of leaving messages for them as well and they don't even answer the phone. WORST customer service EVER!!! Needless to say, refrigerator is still broken.
We bought our counter depth refrigerator in May of 2015. After six months the ice maker stopped working. We had a Samsung service person come out to fix it. He informed us that he had numerous calls about this type of ice maker and it is one of the worse design he has seen. I have tried contacting Samsung many times about this ice maker for this model and never heard anything back. I wrote several more times and received nothing back. Now with all their phone issues I tried again and of course got a blah blah blah letter that was completely useless. I wrote back stating that I've done everything on their list. This letter wants me to use their Samsung people to have it serviced.
I've already purchased Geek Squad from Best Buy extended warranty. Now the ice maker has completely stopped working. Also if anyone has suggestions on what to do about this issue please respond. If anyone is having similar problems could you please write about it here. I would like to get a list going so that as a group we may get something done to help all of us. Also if considering a Samsung appliance do not buy!!!
I have the Samsung RS265TDRS side by side refrigerator which I purchased 8-11-10 from hhgregg. I purchased a 5 year warranty with it at the time. Since the purchase, within a week I started calling for service. They replaced the display, ice maker, main control board, evaporator fan twice while it was in warranty. Since the warranty ran out in the past year I have replaced the evaporator fan and have had to remove and defrost the coils in the refrigerator twice and open the drain in the pan on the freezer side. Right now I have the icemaker pulled out and the water turned off.
It kept putting water in the ice maker but wasn't dumping ice. Ice built up inside the freezer like a glacier. So I called Samsung Chat!! They claimed they are unaware of any of these issues on their website! DUH! Anyways they claim they have filed a report and will get back with me. We'll see! In my opinion I have a LEMON!! BAD Purchase!! No Backup!! They should stick with electronics! Do not recommend Samsung Refrigerators!
I have been reading reviews and I have all of the same problems. Talked to Samsung twice and they just don't care. Besides telling everyone I know I have also filed a complaint with the Ohio State Attorney's Office. Probably will not do any good but I felt better for about an hour. I will never buy ANY Samsung product. Maybe next I will print flyers and put them out in every Samsung product I see. You've heard that saying "don't mess with a senior citizen".
We purchased a set of Samsung appliances three years ago. One year ago the computer board of the dishwasher broke. We had to replace the entire dishwasher - after only two years. At less than three years, the handle broke off the microwave. AND the refrigerator quit working. The fan and thermostat had to be replaced for a cost of over $350. This is all in less than three years! It is almost more than all the appliance repair we have had to have in the last 40 years.
At first the ice maker was the only problem. That happen about 6 months after we bought it. And the noise of the ice dropping (when it did finally drop, most of the time it was just stuck and tapping loudly) it sounded like a crash in the house. Next the repairman ordered a part that would fix it. It did not. When we called him back he said Samsung does not provide a repair manual and not many people have luck getting the ice maker to function properly. Then the whole control panel went out. I can not find a repair man to even come out to work on it. The food in the refrig. is freezing and the food in the freezer has so much frost on the food we can not eat it. I have read many complaints of the same issues. IS ANYONE INTERESTED IN STARTING A CLASS ACTION SUIT? I believe we have lots of people with these issues and the only solution is to replace the refrigerator. I CAN'T AFFORD TO WASTE THAT MUCH MONEY. HOW ABOUT YOU?
Bought fridge July 1, 2015. Bought extended plan. 9/13/2016 started making motor noise. Repair came 9/21/16, said it was motor. Part has not come in as of 10/31/16. On 10/28/16 freezer stopped working. Lost freezer contents. On 10/30/16, freezer motor and started running again & got cold. Still a loud running noise. Repair can't come out until 11/2/16. But they still have no part. I am very unhappy. I will NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance again. Am letting all my friends know to stay away from them too! Over a month to fix a year old fridge. Unacceptable.
I am a fan of their tvs so thinking 7 years ago I would buy this Samsung 3 door refrigerator. Well my story is the same with ice maker not working and then it freezing up on the evaporator fan except I went a little longer than some of the other reviews. Very disappointed with Samsung and their appliances. I made a big mistake and bought a washing machine and had the repair man out for that within the first year. I hope people will read and learn from my mistakes. Don't buy Samsung appliances. Buyer beware.
I bought the side by side fridge in 2011, and it never gets cold and some yellow stuff on the freezer bottom. Called Samsuck out. They told me there was nothing wrong with the fridge but he also found a crack in the bottom of the freezer. I asked him "why does the fridge when it's turned down as far as it would go but would not get it cold cold like my Whirlpool did and my Kenmore elite did?" He said that's the way Samsuck does their products. I will never buy a Samsuck anything ever again. Whirlpool all the way. I'm tired of import cheap ** products!!! Now it's time for a new fridge. What a waste of money. Thanks Samsuck.
I purchased the 28cu ft french door on 7/18/14. I purchased the Samsung Protection Plan on 10/31/2014. I never had to use this extended service plan until 10/20/16 because the refrigerator failed to keep food frozen and the fridge part had gotten up to 60 degrees. I called the Samsung service line at 1-800-726-7864. I was questioned about how I was using the unit (was it level, did the door seals have dirt on them and all kind of stupid questions). I was given a service order **. I was told it could take up to 1-2 business days for a response.
That evening there was an email from the service team saying the service order was canceled because the unit was out of warranty. I called back that evening & told the person Kia that I did have extended warranty & was given another number to call. I called that number & the person answering the phone was livid because it should have been handled by Samsung. I spoke to Ashonte at Samsung, was given another service order **. Told to wait for another call or check status at fax.@sea.samsung.com. I did & they were charging $47 to get status on service order.
On 10/25 called Samsung, spoke to Latoya. She told me that service order was canceled on 10/21 due to no one at home. That was a lie because I checked my phone numbers and there was no call from anyone. She re-opened the ticket. "Expect contact within 24hrs." I called back to dispute the fact that no one was home and spoke to Ashonte. He told me that there was one company in Virginia that could look at the unit. It was Virginia Electronics, Ashland, Va. Never received a call from the service team or Virginia Electronics as of today 10/28/16. Went to Lowe's and bought another refrigerator yesterday and it was delivered today. I read multiple reviews on your website and found a pattern of failure on Samsung units for no apparent reason. What a ripoff. I am still seething about what had happened.
Within the past 2 years, I had technicians came to my house to service this fridge 3 times! Each time it costed me $250! The coil in the back panel simply froze up and cause the fan to stop spinning! And the temperature drops! I can't believe I did not do enough research before getting this fridge. Please avoid buying anything from Samsung! They are not responsible for their issues and there is a class action lawsuit currently going on with them.
This refrigerator - which is gorgeous - stopped working exactly 45 days after installation. A repair service sent by Samsung said it was repairable but it was too a job for them and recommended replacing it. Despite this, Samsung will not stand by their product and they refuse to replace the refrigerator. We are now approaching THREE weeks of no refrigerator. Samsung customer service is a nightmare. They should be ashamed - so disappointing. We strongly recommend NOT purchasing through Samsung and instead use a more reputable company who will ultimately stand by the product and the consumer.
We purchased a beautiful Samsung refrigerator that died - literally died within 45 days of purchase. Samsung has refused to replace the product and instead requested a repair service evaluate the refrigerator. Repair service RECOMMENDED by Samsung reports this is TOO BIG a job for them and have recommended replacement. Samsung REFUSES to do this. What business does NOT stand by their product. We have now waited two weeks for action by them - no response. We DO NOT recommend this company! AWFUL customer service!!!
Have bought (FROM BEST BUY) the Samsung Family Hub Fridge 3 weeks ago. (SERIAL # 08EM43BH300343N. MODEL CODE: RF22K9581SR/AA) We tried to connected it to our iPhone (6) after downloading the apps. It didn't work. We called Samsung VIP Number & they promised that a technician will contact us... to no avail. We have been calling & calling again & after our 10th attempts, we were said that this product is new on the market & that Samsung Technician are studying the case.
My question is the following, how can you introduce a new technology in the US market without prior testing it? Why do you want me to pay $4,000 for a technology that doesn't work? Your credibility is at stake as well as your after sales service. Your supervisor didn't even deign to call us back despite our several calls. If this the way you are treating your new customers? I have always bought LG product & I wanted to shift to Samsung! I do regret my choice & I miss deeply the courteous & most efficient after sales service of LG. In short if I have no echo back from you within a week time, I will return your fridge back to Best Buy.
Paid for a Samsung Refrigerator. Picked it up from the retailing Store 3 months later. I was given a Pickup invoice on which the Retailer indicated the date of sale and the date of pickup. However, the unit developed some problems. I called Samsung (Manufacturer Warranty). They insisted that it was over one year I paid for the unit and as such was out of warranty. I went to the Retailer who gave me a letter and also wrote Samsung to clear the air on this issue. The letter clearly outlined the day I reserved the unit and the day I picked it up and asked Samsung to extend to me the warranty from the date I picked up the refrigerator.
Every time I contacted Samsung, the customer service agents claim they never received the letter from the Retailer. I had to send it to them again and again and again. I've done this over 6 times. They always claim they never received it and as such would not authorize a repair of my refrigerator. I am tired of all these and intend to look for a repair technician who will repair it. I will then go to Small Claims court to file a claim against Samsung for the repair and loss of use of my refrigerator including costs of damaged foods. I called the Customer Service once again for their mailing address to send them the court papers. The agent I spoke to refused giving it to me. Said I should email it. How can I email the original court papers? Even if I can, to an email address they never admit to receiving my emails at? Finally, I will quit patronizing SAMSUNG products!
Bought our Samsung RF23J9011SR/AA refrigerator approximately one year ago. Ice maker malfunctioned. Samsung seemed familiar with the problem. The repairman mentioned a design flaw with regard to the small fan. They did quickly repair the problem for hundreds of dollars. It seems to me if they knew of the design flaw they should make the adjustments at their cost.
I bought a side by side fridge. Had it 7 mos and the freezer worked but the fridge didn't. It was not cooling at all. I called Samsung. It took them 5 days to come out. When repair guy came out I asked him "why does Samsung have so many bad reviews?" He said the side by side are notorious of having problems. Bought a Samsung Washer. Nothing but problems with it. The service tech has been out 4 times and still have not fix the problem. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SAMSUNG PRODUCTS AT ALL. Do your homework. By the way the fridge was 1,900.00. Not cheap.
Freezer keeps frosting over and leaks water onto hardwood flooring causing it to need replacement as well. Cannot get support from manufacturer to repair the faulty product. Stay away from Samsung appliances.
I purchased model RF260BEAEBC/AA in June 2105. Now waiting on my 5th service call. Each call requires 1-2 week wait for service. I have had two compressors and expect another. All my food is lost yet again. Samsung tells me they never replace as long as they can continue repairing. I am so frustrated. I cannot afford a new replacement and have now considered getting a good used one on Craigslist. I paid thousands and cannot get a working refrigerator.
When purchased my new kitchen for my wife 3 years ago, we were big fans of Samsung. The fridge was beautiful. We got it from Best Buy along with the Flex Duo range in SS to upgrade from our old black appliances (Kenmore, French door). We had warranties on everything and thought we'd be safe. Never expected to use it as much as we did. Two times in three years of ownership and then being disabled vets, I was tending to my wife in the hospital and missed the warranty expiration date by one day and Best Buy refused to restart it. Probably because of all the problems they were having with the fridge.
Now I'm left trying to keep this fridge going as best I can. Sadly the old Kenmore that has been running for all the time that I've had my new Samsung is still running problem free in my garage! Samsung should either step up their game or stick to televisions. You've never seen a Whirlpool or Kenmore phone. Do what you do and do it well! Nobody has an extra $2000 laying around to fix a company's errors!
Undependable. I am beyond angry, I just lost over $200 in food because this stupid fridge just stopped working while I was away, all because the filter change indicator was on!? They have designed the fridge to indicate that the water filter needs to be changed every 6 months like clockwork, the indicator light does not actually tell you if it's dirty it just happens at 6 months. So when this indicator light is on, the fridge and freezer won't work. So mark your calendars and try to track when it's going to happen or you'll lose all your food too.
Samsung Model RFG297HDWP/XAA. The unit is a three door bottom freezer I purchased in November of 2013 from Sears. I had the ice maker repaired once and then replaced. It is Junk and a terrible flaw in design. In addition the Fridge has shut down at least Three times for no apparent reason. I came home one evening and opened the door to find the lights working but it seemed warm. I have two thermometers installed which showed the interior temp at 60 degrees. I opened the freezer drawer and that was also not cold. I hit the Digital display and it showed the set point at 36 and after a few seconds flashed the actual reading of 60 degrees - Freezer flashed a reading of 30 degrees.
I called Samsung tech support and did what they asked me to do. I unplugged it for over a minute. Plugged it back in. Nothing. I put it in power cool mode. Nothing. After around 30 minutes I heard the compressor kick in. Amazing. This has happened three times that I know of... I was gone for three months last summer. Who knows?? I had purchased the master Protection Agreement from Sears, Thank God.
A service Tech came out and just so he didn't think I was crazy. I took a video of the digital displayed temperature readings. He was here for more than two hours, ordered several boards and said to call when the boards arrived. They arrived and I called and a different Service Tech came out and tried to install the boards only to tell me they were the wrong parts and he didn't think the fridge needed both boards anyway. I told him That I would rather he change out both than take a chance and that maybe Sears should communicate with the first tech on this issue of what boards need to be replaced. I am not confident that this will solve the problem. It is a Manufacturing defect and Samsung should be held liable.
Updated on 10/31/2016: I just had the fridge repaired on October 19, 2016. The fridge would shut down randomly for no apparent reason. The Sears tech diagnosed and ordered two new circuit boards. Eleven days later the problem came back. This time it is tripping the circuit breaker when shutting down. The one thing that is different now is the motor or fan is constantly running for hours and hours before the shutdown and the tripped breaker. I called Samsung and they are of no help. When will they help us consumers who are stuck with lemons that have cost them over two thousand dollars.
We purchased the Samsung 3 door refrigerator in June of 2015. It started leaking water in July of 2016. Samsung's recommended repair company in our area has been to our home three times. Nothing they've done has fixed the problem. The water has been turned off and disconnected and the line drained. After three water (or something) is still leaking into the deli drawer and onto the floor. We filed a formal complaint with Samsung last week, the only response we've gotten is that it was received. The guy who left the message said, "You know, we're a little busy right now." I will never buy another Samsung product. Looking for a class action suit to join, and found this. Stay away from anything Samsung!!
We bought a French door Samsung refrigerator and have had it for 16 months. In the first 6 months it froze up and would not cool any food in the fridge. It was serviced for free as it was less than one year old. The entire cooling components were replaced. Less than one year later it did the same thing. Talking to Samsung was useless. They would not give any service for their product without charging. They were totally unhelpful and did not want to even hear that a 16 month old fridge would break down not once, but twice in less than two years.
As my husband and I upgraded into a larger family home, I wanted to leave our plain old, basic, boring kitchen appliances behind. Big mistake. We spent over $2,000 on a beautiful looking Samsung 4 door fridge only to be so disappointed. Just after a year of having it, the motherboard went. Because there are no service reps in our area we would have to pay for a service person to come an hour out of town to fix it. A local service person told us to not even bother - Samsung is apparently notorious for having their electronic components of their high end appliances break.
Now we've had 2 of our fridge shelves break. Honestly, my boring old basic white appliances lasted 15 years in my other home (and that was still when people said things "didn't last like they used to"). Also, if you think you will get any answers from Samsung Customer Service, forget about it. Their phones must be located somewhere overseas and I couldn't understand what the person was saying and I got the run around about my motherboard problems in the first place. Ugh!
Samsung fridge SR320MLS purchased 3 years ago at Noel Leeming Manukau, NZ. But after a year and a half I found out it's left and right both inner shell hook for vege bin is broken at small coin size and Samsung has replaced it to new one, it was smooth and good. But a year and a half now from replacement,
exactly same place of left and right inner shell is broken at small coin size but this time Samsung service NZ, they wants to stick some patch on both side of broken inner shell. Imagine about it I've paid $1,134 for good look stainless fridge for good fresh stuff for my kitchen but do I have to use broken shell fridge with ugly patch because of I've choose weak and wrong product, that seems like a manufacturing fault? Are you happy at all? Of course not!
Therefore I asked them for replace it to another right stronger model with extra payment but they didn't allow it for 2, 3 times so I've required for talk with NZ general service manager for and she called me for 2 times but unfortunately my battery was flat and I was at outside so again I've let them know good time to contact with me but neither G.S didn't contact me nor I'm able to speak with her through call center. It was 3 months ago until now they did resolve my claim and G.S never contact to me. How many times do I have to contact to service center??? Because of they are wrong product totally it was more than 5 times. Now I'm very sick for Samsung's after service. Please tell me something, what shall I do?
This 3 door Refrigerator started leaking just after the warranty ran out, age 1 year and 4 mo. The company refuses to pay for any repairs or parts needed even though there are already over 2000 complaints about the appliance. And, they are insisting I need to buy a 250 dollar extended warranty to cover the thing for any future repairs. I spent an entire afternoon trying to do so making phone calls to numbers they furnished only to finally be told I need to go back to Home Depot to purchase the warranty. Samsung should be sued.
Purchase Samsung, model RF266AEBP/XAA, 3-door refrigerator November, 2012. January, 2016 it started making this noise that got louder and louder. At which point it stopped cooling properly. Went online to find out it was the cool and I wasn't the only one. I called Samsung and was informed my warranty I purchased was up. Told them this was a manufacturer's problem and they needed to fix it. They said they could send out a service tech, but I would have to pay for it. I was outraged. The only thing, I replaced my GE appliances I had for 15 years never having a problem with them, just wanted to upgrade. To my dismay, I downgraded! Would not advise anyone to buy this product! Buyers BEWARE!!!
I ONLY GAVE IT ONE STAR BECAUSE I HAD TO!!! We bought our Samsung fridge model number RF263BEAESR/AA from Best Buy. We have had nothing but problems since the delivery. It consistently makes the loudest most annoying buzzing noise. We called the warranty department to have a tech, Young **, from NISI. The first order for repair was completed, by basically putting a bandaid on the hose to the condenser. This noise stopped for about an hour only to return worse. We set up for a second repair to be done. Same technician came out, took the back panel off and again put a bandaid to muffle the sound. Again the fridge made the buzzing noise, only this time it was so loud that you could hear it from our bedroom. This would be the third repair done in order to attempt to cover up a piece of ** product.
I then decided to call the customer service to speak to multiple service people all of which are foreign people, only to tell me that they need three ticket repairs, acknowledging this model has had multiple complaints for freezing up, to which the fan hits the frozen ice causing the buzzing sound. The only relief to stop the buzzing is to open and shut the door. This must be done on a repetitive basis all damn day. Who has time to open and close a fridge door to try and have some peace and quiet. The last time the technician came he said he would not create a ticket for this final repair because he wanted $80 for coming out in addition to parts. The former repairs were written up for condenser issues, and this visit he said he could not fix it due to no payment and because he did not know how to repair it.
This is poor, unacceptable customer service. We have recorded the noise along with images taken. The sound is so loud now it sounds like a damn jet plane. A supervisor at Samsung has said that we should be receiving a call to start a replacement or a refund, but due to high call volume have shut that department down for a week now. REALLY?! RIDICULOUS! Do not buy this product, nor take it if given to you for free. We will never purchase a Samsung product again and only hope that they stand by their word to refund our money. Apparently this is happening to almost every consumer who purchased this model. Get your ** together Samsung and take this off the market. When you spend this much for a product, it is under warranty, defective, you should recall it. BUYERS BEWARE!!
Bought brand new on 8/9/2013, within the first 6 months the ice maker quit working and we could not open the ice maker. Samsung said it was due to a defective motherboard. Fridge was under warranty, they fixed it no problem. New this last week 10/5/2016 the fridge will not stay cold. It stays about 52 degrees. The freezer works fine, but the fridge not so much. Tried resetting the fridge like they said, power cooled it for 24 hours and it's still not cold.
Called Best Buy because that's where we bought it and they are usually pretty quick to repair, they said that THIS fridge has a reported compressor issue. If the compressor is bad, it can NOT be fixed and the whole unit will have to be replaced. I have to wait until tomorrow to contact Samsung Repair. Has anyone else had this issue? I am thoroughly irritated that this is the 2nd issue for this fridge, which is just now 3 years and 2 months old. Ridiculous! For the amount of money spent on the unit, this is not acceptable.
Where do I begin. We bought the fridge thinking it was a high quality product. We were WRONG!! Samsung is crap! We started having issues immediately after purchase. Don't buy Samsung. They have no respect for their customers and will not back their product. If you do, here's what will happen. You will begin to hear odd sounds coming from within. The back of your fridge will begin to freeze up immediately. You will begin a routine of blow drying your icemaker every week... and still not have ice. You will call for repairs under your warranty with a deductible of approx 100.00. You will believe they have made it right. It won't be, because the warranty won't allow the correct parts to be ordered (ask your repair guy about that). You will again have the same issues as before... food will go bad.
Have your blow dryer at the ready and your pocket book as well because now you're out of warranty time. You will pay about another 900.00 for repairs unless you agree to another warranty that will bring your cost down 50%. But then you will pay about 60.00 monthly for that warranty. You will wish you had purchased a new fridge and started over at this rate. Put your Samsung on the corner with a "free" sign on it. Or, take it back where you purchased it. They won't want it, but shouldn't they back the product they so avidly supported when they wanted to make that sale? They now tell us to buy Whirlpool. Can you say "Class Action"?
I bought a new kitchen refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and over the oven microwave. All Samsung. Do not buy this brand. I wish I would have read the reviews first. The ice maker started freezing up in the first year. We are into our second year and it still has to be defrosted every week. What a waste of money. You would think that Samsung would make this right for all the customers that have had this problem. I have family members that have the same issues same brand. Ready to take a loss and get a different brand.
Bought a Samsung refrigerator and the lifetime on it was less than 2 years. The fridge got so hot on sides and on the top that you could probably cook on it. The inside was hot and the freezer was just chilly. I tried to call service and was not able to get any help. I had a service tech come out, was charged for the service, and they could not fix it. What a piece of **. They should recall all the Samsung fridges.
I bought all new Samsung appliances about 2 years ago and have had nothing but issues with every piece from fridge to dishwasher and stove. Many issues was during 1st year with stove element going out, ice maker quit working after 1 year, dishwasher leaks, inside of dishwasher plastic parts are melting apart. Worse experience ever and will never buy a Samsung. Whirlpool was never a problem prior.
I bought my Samsung 4 door refrigerator in 2014 and extremely regretting my purchase. I paid over $2,000 for a refrigerator that started to make loud noises after one year of purchase which of course was the end date of my warranty through Samsung. I had spoke to Samsung several times about the issue and nothing was done. I had Home Service Plus which I felt was not their job to fix come out seven times deeming my refrigerator unfixable. I also had a Samsung washing machine that exploded in my basement. My house is full of Samsung products and I wish I could return them all. Very disappointed customer.:-(
Well from all the other reviews, I guess there's no need in calling Samsung customer service. I have the same problem. Came home and fridge was warm inside. It was purchased in Sept. 2013. Guess I'm just gonna purchase something else. Instead of, giving my money to repair men for no good reason. Just to have the same problem down the road. I purchased fridge, microwave, and a dishwasher. Hope the other two work for a while longer!!! LOL. Anyway if you read this before purchase, DON'T BUY SAMSUNG!! Good luck to you!
Purchased a Samsung washer, dryer and refrigerator approx. 1 month ago. On 9-29 fridge and freezer stopped working while at work, thawed out and spoiled food. Fridge and freezer will not cool. Washer is also now listed as defective due to safety hazard. Frequent phone calls to Samsung has resulted in no resolution to this issue. I am constantly being told I have to wait 24-48 hours to hear from different departments. Today, I was told I have to wait another 24-48 hours to hear from someone in Refunds and Exchanges via telephone. I asked to contact them directly but was told they have no phone number because they are a "back office department". I expressed my displeasure and asked for my call to be elevated past Executive Customer Relations and was told that's not possible, they are the highest level of customer service.
I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I would have to be put on an list and someone would contact me back in 24-48 hours. 2 days to speak to a supervisor? I was informed that if an exchange of the refrigerator is decided on, it would be another 15 days for delivery. This is totally unacceptable. Not only the frequent waiting for "24-48 hours" to be contacted by Samsung but I was denied the opportunity to speak to a higher level of customer service.
On the day I purchased these major appliances I spent $3000 total and now 2 out of the 3 appliances are defective. I am unhappy with the customer service I have received up to this point. They are not receptive to the issues. The time frame that Samsung is putting me on is unacceptable. It shouldn't take 48 hours to make a decision for a customer that has invested thousands of dollars in Samsung. In the meantime, I have a dead $3000 refrigerator in my kitchen with no resolution and nowhere to turn as far as customer service. This was my BBB complaint.
After filing a BBB complaint, I was contacted by a rep from the Office of President. She acknowledged my current problem with the refrigerator. She explained that she will now be handling my case and I can contact her directly. She explained she is still waiting to see the result of my issue from the refunds and exchange office and she will contact me the next day. The next day arrived and I had to call them to find out the results. I was told the request to exchange the fridge was kicked back (declined) because there are no service programs in the area. I am now stuck with a refund.
I expressed my concern for this due to the fact that I purchased the fridge on sale, and its listed on Samsungs website for $2999. I paid approx $1800 and will be losing the value of the fridge by receiving a refund. After back and forth explanations, she explained how I would be receiving a call from the refunds and exchange office... in another 24-48 hours. Today is October 6th. She said I would be receiving a call either tomorrow or Monday the 10th of October. The refunds and exchange office has already seen my case several times and even took action on it, why do they need another 48 hours to review it? So we head into the weekend once again with definitive solution.
When I hear from them on Monday, how many more phone calls will need to be waited for and how long till I actually see the refund? Once again I was told there is no higher level of CS, shes following procedures and protocols and there is no way she can expedite the call from refunds and exchanges. After expressing my overwhelming dissatisfaction with Samsung, its customer service and its "policies and procedures" I inquired how does Samsung go about getting the defective fridge from me. She informed that I am responsible for disposal of the fridge and will not be reimbursed for any money spent from doing so.
Once again, this is totally unacceptable customer service from a company of this magnitude. There is no difference between what a standard CS rep can accomplish and what rep from the Office of the President can accomplish. I still wish to pursue my complaint and speak to someone higher in this company. Customers should not be treated like this. I will no longer be doing business with Samsung and will advise friends and family of my experience as well.
We purchased a Samsung refrigerator in May of 2015. We had it 2 days and it wasn't cooling, so Best Buy brought out a new refrigerator. That worked for 2 weeks and then the freezer was not cooling. Everything melted and we lost the food. Samsung did repair it. Now the refrigerator is 2 months beyond a year of purchase and the icemaker has failed. We have had a tech here twice, he did not know how to repair it. Finally Samsung sent a tech of their own. Multiple design problems with the icemaker confirmed by the tech. We are going to have to pay for the motor in the icemaker. I don't know the cost yet as he is working on it now but he said it is not cheap. Samsung refuses to stand behind this piece of junk refrigerator. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG!
Refrigerator started icing up in the back just after the first year was up. Got Samsung to pay for the parts but we had to pay for the service call. Now another year and a half later the same thing is happening and the service rep told us they have a fix for the first fix. We have to wait an entire week to get our refrigerator back to working order.
The parts need to be ordered and it has to thaw out to get the back panel off. Called Samsung again and this time the manager of the woman I talked to said they will not cover the parts because the warranty had run out. I have a Maytag refrigerator that we use for beverages that has run for 24 years with no problems and don't know what I would do without it. No more Samsung for us. The Samsung replaced a GE refrigerator we had for 24 years with no problems.
Had repairmen out 3 times, still the ice maker is not working. Samsung will not send a repairman again but offered to refund my money or replace. Been on hold for almost one hour now to find out what is happening with the replacement I requested. Now, after reading the ConsumerAffairs reviews I now want my money back. If I can get someone to answer the phone... Still on hold... Now I have to plug in my phone charger so my phone won't go dead. I don't give up easy. Still holding.
Making noise just after warranty runs out. Called CS their response, Tough ** out of warranty, found out it's the evaporator fan hitting ice build up, because the heater failed, common problem. Had to fix it myself. Also have never been able to get ice from maker without getting ice on the floor. Biggest piece of junk I ever bought. The 15 year old Frigidaire it replaced still works awesome in my garage. Lesson learned - no more Samsung.
Samsung refrigerators one of the worst pc of equipment one can buy and the after sales and service is just a way to fleece--- given a service number **. It's been a month after the guy took some parts out, no call nothing. This is after the fridge has been repaired 4 times in 4 years, the 1st repair within a few months.... they actually expect you to chase them. Welcome to Samsung world.
Samsung appliances have the worst quality I've ever seen. 3 of 4 kitchen appliances broke or replaced in under 5 yrs. Samsung support useless, really think dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave should all be recalled! Dishwasher never worked right, leaked, ran for hours and OVERHEATED to where I thought it would set a fire. 3 repairs tried before it got ran 5 hrs straight and door was so hot had to use a potholder to turn off. Lowe's replaced for free after Samsung refused. It was 18 months old and dishes never dried right from day 1.
RAG 257 Refrigerator ice maker broke after 1yr, replaced by Lowe's under extended warranty. Worked for 3 more years, then useless. Doesn't make ice except sporadically for no reason now and then weeks apart. 9187 Microwave started to TURN ON SPONTANEOUSLY in middle of night by 5 yrs. would run empty saying it was cooking a potato. Literally thought I was crazy until I looked online and saw numerous other reports of same thing. VERY DANGEROUS and a fire hazard. Also got TOO HOT and overruled food. Door Latch broke at same time. Had to unplug it and then replaced with GE that works perfectly! Multiple complaints of all of the above can be found online, hundreds if not thousands, quality sucks! Will never buy another Samsung appliance again!
Has anyone been able to contact and resolve issues with their Samsung refrigerators? Has anyone taken legal action? I bought my refrigerator four years ago from Sears. As I sit here typing this comment, my fabulous product is sitting over there broken! This makes the third time that the temperature sensor has failed and have lost all of my food. The second time the sensor went out, no one keeps these parts on hand and it had to be ordered from the manufacturer overseas. This ONLY took seven weeks to get here. Thankfully, I have a home warranty policy and they have repaired it.
Well, my luck has run out. The repairman who came out yesterday told the warranty company that the sensor failed causing other parts failures. Now the warranty company is telling me that my policy won't cover this because if a warrantied part causes other equipment failures, the company won't cover them. This means $338, plus the $60 service call, out of MY pocket. The first two repairmen told me that Samsung appliances are ABSOLUTE JUNK!!!! Has anyone been able to get any action from Samsung or has anyone taken any legal action? I'm in!!!
We purchased the RF32FMQDBSR/AA 4 door flex zone fridge, from Conn's furnishings, in April 2014. We didn't even get 6 months of use from it by the time the ice maker quit working. I called Samsung support, if you want to call it that. They had me go through steps to defrost it and reset the ice maker. It worked for a few weeks, then did the same thing again. I tried to get them to send out a service tech to see if there was an actual problem, while the fridge was under warranty. They would not do it. They said it just needed to be maintained by us. I got tired of the run around from Samsung, so I left it at that. We can live without an ice maker, because by the time Samsung actually wanted to do something about it, our warranty had expired. Imagine that!!!
Now, our new problem. A few weeks ago, we noticed milk and food spoiling in the fridge. We thought it had just expired or something, but it had not. The fridge was not cooling past 60 degrees. The front panel said it was 35 degrees, but when I reset the panel it showed the actual temp of 63. No wonder food is spoiling. I called a service tech myself, because I thought our warranty was out. They listened to the symptoms and didn't even send someone out. They told me to contact Samsung, as it was a problem with the sealed system, and it is still under the 5 year warranty.
So, I called Samsung. After 3 different phone calls and 3 different ticket numbers, they sent out their contracted service techs. The tech concluded, after a couple of hours of work, that the problem was in the sealed system. I asked him if it can be fixed, and he said he didn't know of anybody that can fix it, due to the flammable refrigerant they used in these systems. Now, I'm waiting on Samsung to get their head out of their collective **, and do something about this, as we've been without a fridge for going on 4 weeks now. I will never buy another Samsung product as long as I live.
Same issue as others with the fan freezing up. This is a defect and should be recalled. There is no reason as a consumer I should be tasked with ripping the cover off every week and defrosting the motor. I have thrown out at least $2000 in food over the last 2 years. I have Samsung TV's, Phones, Microwave, Dishwasher and no issues. This side by side refrigerator is a dog. I am glad there are YouTube videos to explain how to fix this hunk of junk. Two years later and $1800 wasted at Lowe's this will now be the garage refrigerator freezer.
We bought a french door refrigerator (RF323TEDBSR/AA) in August 2015; In May 2016 the fan started to make a funny noise. In June the fridge stops cooling. Freezer works fine. We called Samsung, no complaints about the customer service, however the communication between Samsung and services provider is really bad. The first one said our manufacturer warranty was expired in March 2015, but we bought the fridge in August. Second service guy came over; very pleasant guy; changed the defrost panel. It has been exactly a month that they changed the back panel, and the noise from the fan going against the built ice came back. We called Samsung again yesterday, then I decided to check some reviews. I start thinking we made a bad choice buying this product. We have few others, washer, dryer, stove and microwave not installed yet.
I also have purchased a Samsung fridge. NEVER again. I have had nothing but trouble with it. Even with the extended warranty it is a piece of JUNK. After service call, too many to count, it still don't cool and has to be unplugged and set for at least 48 hours on almost a regular basis. If you call this a good product I beg to differ. I had saved for a LONG time to be able to purchase this fridge and it not only was a waste of my time, but my money. I would NEVER recommend this product nor purchase another. Samsung need to step up and make things right for those of us that have had nothing but problems with this product!!! Shame... SHAME on Samsung!!!
My French door refrigerator started forming ice about 18 months after purchase. Warranty is only a year, which is ridiculous when you pay that much for a appliance. I checked online for anyone else experiencing the problem. Most problems were with water under the crisper drawers which I hadn't experienced. I called Samsung and the first words the service desk said were, "We haven't experienced that problem before," which I knew was bogus because every person that called them said they said the same thing. Anyway after over 2 years of emptying my freezer and getting the ice out, I finally bit the bullet and called a repairman. I wish I'd done it right away.
He took the bottom panel off the back, took out the two drain pipes for the automatic defrost, about 7"each with a rubber, flat nipple on each one. He shows me the small slit across the end of the nipple that the water drains thru and explains that if that slit gets clogged the water backs up and freezes in the bottom. It also could cause water to be leaked under the drawers in the cooling part of fridge. All he did was cut about -1/8" off of the flat ends and put them back on the pipes and reinstall them. They must just slide on because he didn't have any tools but the screwdriver to remove the panel and a snipper to cut the rubber nipple. You can use scissors for that. I could have done this myself had I known what to do. That's why I'm writing this.
Also he said to be sure to turn fridge off for 48 hours to make sure all the ice has defrosted. That's a pain, but we've been removing the ice for 2 years every 3-4 weeks. If this works, it's worth the 48 hours without a fridge. If this works, you won't hear from me, if not, I'll let you know. It was a $79 service call. It's a bad design and hopefully Samsung has changed it. My fridge is almost 4 years old. I love everything else about it.
If you are thinking about buying a Samsung refrigerator "don't". This is the worse product ever and I regret buying it. I purchased the product in 2013 from Lowe's, they were having a sale so I purchased the refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. I have not had any problems with the stove but the dishwasher and refrigerator is a whole new ball game. First, there are the filters (which are not cheap) you have to buy every six months to a year for the refrigerator depending on how much you use the water dispenser. Secondly, the ice maker just one day stop making ice and this has been going on for about a year as I refuse to pay almost $500 to a repairman, that the Samsung customer service (who was rude) recommended, for a new ice maker for a refrigerator that I haven't had for that long. I can purchase another refrigerator for that price (I mean it's only been 3 years. My GE appliances lasted 10 years before I had problems with them).
We even had a local repairman come out to take a look at it and he wouldn't touch it because he said that "they are too difficult to work on" and he also said that he has had several calls about Samsung refrigerators for one thing or another and that only a trained Samsung repair person would be able to fix it but they want too much money. And then there is the dishwasher that seem to always feel wet on the inside even when not in use and it has a smell that I can't describe. I am so disappointed in this product. The biggest regret of my life. So I am warning you Samsung may be good in the cell phone business but their appliances SUCK!!!! I should have just stuck with GE.
Hi I am from chennai, India. I bought Samsung side by side fridge from Samsung store here. The model is RH77J90407H. From day one I have been facing issues and now I have to deal it legally. Please do not buy from Samsung stores. Visit the store for the features and benefits of various products, but buy from other Samsung dealers who also deal many brands. Samsung store people are hopeless after sales. Dealers other than Samsung stores put customer satisfaction first and help you in getting the refund or replacement. Within one year Samsung technicians have changed water dispenser unit, compressor, PCB board and main mother board in my fridge. Beauty is my noise problem is not solved but is more now. As a bonus four of fridge trays have broken during the problem solving process by technicians.
DO NOT BUY FROM SAMSUNG. What a horrible piece of crap from a reliability perspective. Love the design and layout but... The icemaker starting leaking water, the fridge is 18 months old and I know it is out of warranty so I called a repairman (a trusted friend). He came to the house and said "oh yeah I service Samsungs for this issue all the time, at least 5 or so a week". The icemaker and the auger unit needed to be replaced, $755, WHAT almost half the price I paid for the fridge itself. I looked online and the parts are over $400 at the cheapest place.
I called Samsung and they said it is out of warranty and would not do anything to make me happy. I would call this a defect if the component is failing in less than 2 years, which according to my buddy he sees all of the time but what does Samsung care they are making a killing on repair parts on fridges that are less than 2 years old. I will never buy another product from this company and I suggest you don't either, complete junk.
Bought the Frig from Lowe's in 2014. It started dripping water about a year in from the water/ice dispenser. The ice has never dispensed very well, and the consistency of the ice varies greatly without any adjustment of the temperate. And then a week ago a plastic piece falls out of the ice maker into my glass. It broke off of something. Now the ice maker is frozen, no more ice. I see that there have been so many problems with Samsung frigs with a class action lawsuit. I can't believe Lowe's has these lemon products on the floor. Is my model in the class action?
DO NOT BUY Samsung French Door fridges! I have almost $3000 invested in a fridge that gave little, annoying problems at first, but as soon as the VERY SHORT warranty was up, the ice maker problems got worse and worse... Dripping water out of the ice maker flapper door, slushy ice cubes, ice dams in the ice maker itself, taking 1 minute or so to drop out 3-5 ice cubes, odd noises, not making ice at all... You name it.
I tried to get a repairman, but no one returned my calls--then I discovered from several local sellers of the Samsung French door fridges, that there are so many problems with them, that repairmen don't want to repair them at all--knowing they will never solve their clients' problems. The repairmen might take the call IF the unit is still on warranty, simply because they know they'll get more and more repair calls--all paid by Samsung. Once the warranty is gone, they don't want to deal with Samsung units.
Consider this: I have a new millennium fridge and I make ice the way my Mom did in the 1950s--with ice cube trays! I think these units should be recalled--these are major expenses for a family--just like buying a car that is unsafe or poorly designed--or is an outright Lemon. Samsung's reply to me was a boilerplate letter with links pasted in to their WELL KNOWN repair bulletins... Each one I had already known about and tried! Then they linked to how to get a repair ticket started, but then repeated their warranty rules. Samsung customer satisfaction? Rate that at ZERO. If you know anyone considering one of these Samsung units, steer them away--- SHARE this post. PLEASE SHARE!
Bought a new Samsung. Refer 13 months ago and regret it so much. In the last 3 months, rust is growing around the water/ice dispenser. In the last week, there is no water pressure. With the filter out, great pressure but when a new Samsung filter installed nothing, no water. Junk. Never again.
We purchased the Samsung from hhgregg in Appleton WI as we were remodeling our kitchen and the refrigerator # rf260beaesr has not worked from the start. For making ice, we have called hhgregg. We had the extended warranty and they told us it's not their problem. We have to work through Samsung so we have called and on 5 different occasions received inaccurate information and the tech line of Samsung the repairman came out and thought we had a used refrigerator or malware refrigerator from the assembly factory as the cables were not connected and the coil for making ice was defective. He replaced it nicely. That piece of coil lasted one day and again we called the tech line and the repairman came replacement of something else and reset the refrigerator and when we came back from our 14 day vacation it stunk in the house and lo and below - all the food in the freezer spoiled. Over 250.00 of meat.
We called them up and they said to call hhgreg and we did that and hhgreg said they have nothing to do with the Samsung as Samsung is the product and this is their problem. Now this is getting old. Since June we have been getting replacement parts and no wear as the freezer still is not working and either is the temperatures in the refrigerator and no one is taking responsibility in replacement. They said Samsung that is, that hhgregg will be calling you and replacing a refrigerator. No no not a call received.
We have called and wrote everyone name down the phone and email and faxes that they told us to go through for Samsung and guess what? Nothing is done. Now all we want is our money back, plus the food lost, and we will not buy a Samsung product ever. Example - look at the Samsung phones are blowing up. We have done everything Samsung told us to do and as of 9/16/16 we are no further ahead.
CIVIL suit - contact news and will expose both retailer hhgregg and Samsung for running false advertising and product reliability and the other thing is hhgregg in Appleton and Green Bay is going out of business. Everyone got our money but we end up being the loser. Where is the justice in customer service? Where is the responsibility for a product accountability? The refrigerator is not even a yr old rf260beaesr and I have a 5yr psp bf refrigerator warranty which I was charged 349.99. Plus the refrigerator of 1600.00. Where does this sit with me? FZ coils frozen up, defrost freezer. Heaters did not work. Def defrost control replaced, installed new main board and evaporator fa defrost sensor ordered. Need sensor, connected sensor e21 evap fan reconnect on 7-1 16.
Next visit 7-18-16 reg def holder defrost thermostat no voltage to heater from board evap fan not running. 8/26 repairman another sensor ordered power freeze and another visit from technical difficulties. No one knows what the hell they are doing in Samsung and they don't care period. They think they can run a person ragged down so that the customer will quit & they don't have to deal with getting us our money back. They don't even know who their CEO. We asked - how much does this tell you they care or know about the Samsung equipment service? So, how do we get our money back so we can buy a refrigerator other than a Samsung? Maybe Electrolux or Maytag. Going locally I can at least get service and honesty and a replacement instead of the run about from retail stores like hhgregg who is going out of business 9/30/16 and Samsung who won't replace or give your moneys back from the purchase.
Does anyone hear me out there? We faxed everything to 973 529 0543, tried 3 times would not accept faxes. Obtained a new fax # to 864 751 2882 on 9/17/16. We are calling hhgregg daily and Samsung daily to get a refrigerator. We are the customer and deserve better care than what we have gotten which was passing the buck blaming the other guy. Get some balls Samsung and take care of the customer - stand behind your name. As for hhgregg going bankrupt out of business says it all. They probably took the money and ran. Almost sounds like this with Samsung is trying to do as well.
Just replace the ref or give the customer their money back. We were the trusting people in your name and now we have no trust in that name and you Samsung did not stand behind and take responsibility. Shame on you Samsung. Someday you'll be a customer to someone else and let's see how that goes. You all will be exposed for what you are eventually.
The new hub refrigerator (with white glove service) plus black stainless double oven range plus ultra quiet black stainless dishwasher plus black stainless microwave plus Samsung's latest washer/dryer combo plus 55 inch Samsung ultra HD TV plus Samsung 65 inch ultra HD TV plus a Samsung S7 smart phone all to update our home and all purchased within one week. "Oh, you are the first buyer of the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator and you won't believe the white glove service it comes with." White glove? They came out to measure the location and said "no problem, all will fit. Second floor, no problem we have the greatest delivery team." Well, the exciting day comes. The delivery team says they will probably scratch the ref if they bring it upstairs but they will try anyway. Final measurement from the white glove guy, "all good she will fit".
The greatest delivery team bangs it up the stairs, hides the big and I mean big gauges they put in the cabinet with their moving belt metal buckets and guess what, it won't fit. We now have the white gloved Samsung Family Hub sticking half way into our kitchen posing nicely with the several gauges in the cabinet. "No problem we'll take car of it." Two days pass no call from anyone. My wife finally calls the white glove VIP team and they can't help! "You can't help, give me someone else." "No he's right, we can't help. You will have to call the store you bought it from." You are kidding me, where was the VIP white glove treatment. Go to Sears, get a Kenmore. We are trying to return all this crap as we also discovered the dishwasher too has a big gauge on the top of the door hidden from us. Even if you have money to waste, flush it down the toilet and don't buy Samsung and be fooled like we were.
We purchased a Samsung side by side refrigerator from hhgregg in September 2015. In July, 2016, the refrigerator stopped cooling. The fan was replaced under warranty. The total time from first call to completion was 11 days. Freezer worked fine throughout. September 13, 2016, same problem. After two days we called Samsung service again since we had not heard from the repair service. We were told that they didn't have a service person available and would continue to try to find one. hhgregg has been unable/unwilling to provide service. Their attempt to "put us in touch" with a service company led to being returned to the Samsung service queue. I would give both Samsung and hhgregg 0 stars if I could.
I LIVE in Costa Rica, & bought my first Samsung product 15 years ago---a side-by-side refrigerator came with a 3-year warranty. In slightly less than 3 years, the electronic display on the door went nuts. I had crews taking my fridge apart every week. After replacing the panel/circuit board/wiring harnesses/entire door, they gave up & gave me a new one which lasted 7 years. When my fridge died, so did my washer & I bought another Samsung side-by-side which came with a free washer. I LOVE BOTH MACHINES, which perform perfectly & am shocked to see such complaints about the company & its products.
Continuously freezing up water gathering in crisper and underneath crisper. Thawed fridge out. Was good for 1 week. Happens again. I have had this issue for 6 months and the fridge isn't 2 years old.
I purchased a Samsung side by side refrigerator in August 2014, Model RF217ACPHN/XAA. In April 2016, the inside iced over and began making clunking noises. I called an appliance tech who replaced a burned out coil. In less than two months, the back of the refrigerator iced over again, and the tech made another house call to de-ice. In the meantime, the ice maker stopped working. The icing has become a problem again, and the tech says he needs a "main control," which he has been unable to order. I contacted Customer Service at Samsung to inquire about purchasing the part, but have received no answer. I am now defrosting the appliance and should know tomorrow whether I need to replace it or not. If I do, you can be assured it will not be another Samsung product! NO MORE SAMSUNG FOR ME!
Samsung refrigerator model #RFG237AARS, bought in 2012. I just found out... after buying 2 water filters from two different places - Lowes and Amazon, that samsung has redesigned the water filter and they no longer fit in this refrigerator! The DA29-00003G does not work with this model. The DA29-00003B does. They don't make the 3B anymore. I am out of luck to replace the water filter! I talked to customer service and was told that I should put a bi pass cap on or redo the whole setup so I can get the filter to fit. This is a lousy company. I will never buy another Samsung product. They do not care about their customers.
We purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator (no ice dispenser) a few years ago (It was built in 2011). We began to have problems with water/ice buildup under the cold storage tray since last Fall. We thought we must have spilled water in the refrigerator. It kept happening with increasing frequency. It became a weekly process to remove the cold storage tray and remove an inch of ice and water from the bottom of the refrigerator. It then became necessary to remove the water twice a week to prevent water from spilling out of the refrigerator all over the floor. Several members of my family started getting sick with what we thought was the stomach bug.
We noticed that the refrigerator did not seem to be very cold although the temperature stated it was 34 degree until one night the temperature reading said 58 degrees! I called a repairman who told me the panel in the back was probably frozen and we would need to unplug the unit and wait at least 24 hours for the back panel to defrost. We began the process of throwing out food and found several moldy containers. We realized this was most likely the reason we were getting sick! We were being poisoned by our refrigerator! We immediately decided to throw it out and purchase another one! Having a refrigerator for only a few years and to have this happen, I will never buy another Samsung product again.
I need a freezer department handles for RF263AFRS Fridge manufactured NOV 2010, handles have grey plastic parts that go inside the fridge and hold handle by screws. Handle is not broken, it just cannot hold to the fridge anymore because of the broken parts on both ends. I spent 3 months looking for these parts. Called Samsung and the phone #s given by them, no one has these grey plastic parts. Wrote Samsung customer care email asking for help. They got back to me with template saying I should call their customer service (I know the phone # by heart already!). It's been a few months now the fridge is broken. I have difficulty accessing the freezer because of it.
The part I am looking for the freezer handle is actually a part of the whole freezer door and to make things a little worse, that freezer door is no longer available. Same fridge broke on month 13th, after 12 month warranty. It was making ice on the back of the fridge. Part was $170 and $150 was the labor. I am very dissatisfied with the product. It was expensive fridge and I was hoping to be able to use it for a while. Now, people from Samsung, how to find these broken parts. Please help!
Samsung model RF25HMEDBSR/AA, 2014 Sounds like I have the same problems a lot of others have had. I bought this fridge because I liked the looks of the beverage drawer, having the freezer on the bottom and my food at eye level. I didn't know the problems that were coming with it or I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT IT. I've replaced the ice cube drawer because it cracked. Ice jams behind it constantly even though I read and follow ALL instructions. Water leaks out the front and stains it up and leaves a puddle on my floor. It makes a whining noise like a puppy for the first year. The motor is loud when it kicks on. I stopped running to the window to see who pulled in the drive (no joke).
It was not easy to get a tech to my house. When it was delivered two very small guys had to struggle with it. If it wasn't so hard to get through the door I'd get rid of it. The delivery guys pinched the cord in the door. The manual said not to use it if that happens - It could cause a fire. The tech came and said it was fine- Charged over $200 for that visit. It sickens me think of the $2000+ I paid for it. After setup I had to run several gallons of water through the door by the glass full to build the pressure up to normal. I never had to do that with the last one - had pressure after the first glass.
I purchased a Samsung RF323TEDBSA three door refrigerator February 2013 and have had terrible issues with both ice makers and front door water dispenser and overall think the stainless finish is impossible to clean. The front door water dispenser always drips down the front of the refrigerator requiring constant cleaning and absolutely nothing cleans this poor quality of stainless. I have tried everything!
The bottom freezer is not working at all and will not reset. The top freezer has to be defrosted monthly with a hairdryer and reset, to get any ice. Even after those bizarre behaviors, the ice is always wet, very slow to make and drop and always mixes at least 5 or so tablespoons of water in with the ice (and again drips down the front of the refrigerator). I actually bought two of the same refrigerators for two different homes and absolutely think both are just junk. What a joke... As I thought I was buying a higher end appliance!
Just another comment, on the Samsung microwave I bought at the same time... Junk. I had to fixed the cracked plastic on the door hinge myself with a You Tube video and rubber band, just so the door would close so the appliance would work... After two years of use (mostly reheating food). I caution all appliance buyers to stay away from Samsung appliances, regardless of the model. Also, getting service without paying an arm and a leg is impossible.
We bought a Samsung French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator and it started freezing up behind panel in refrigerator part. It leaks water that overflows onto kitchen floor and makes your cold grocery items freeze up in back of fridge. You will have to pay hundreds in repairs and if you need questions answered about problems be prepared to be put on hold on phone and then talk to someone from India or Pakistan that you can't understand. Samsung refrigerators are nothing but CRAP and they need to be Sued.
On 8/29/16 we purchased the 25 cu ft French Door with External Water & Ice Dispenser, Model Number: RF263BEAESG/AA Refrigerator in the Black Stainless finish. Delivered 9/3/16. We purchased this high end very pricey fridge, a high end matching gas range and dishwasher so we spent a pretty decent amount of money. The set was ordered from a local appliance store and was NOT a scratch & dent product. While from a distance the fridge looks fantastic, don't look too close. Under the factory packaging (plastic protective packaging & cardboard was not damaged at all) there were numerous scratches and a small dent in the upper left door. I would expect a new expensive appliance such as this would not arrive in this condition. The appliance store is closing and unable to order a new refrigerator or even just a new door. I don't need an entire new fridge, just an undamaged door.
Samsung feels it is our problem and refused to do anything about it. While waiting on hold the recorded message spoke of their commitment to customer service. Well we didn't get that, in fact just the opposite. Interesting is that we really like Samsung and have always promoted their products. This is the first issue we've had and they failed us. I would not recommend this product due to how fragile it seems to be and Samsung will not make it right. I have a beautiful new kitchen with very nice high end Samsung appliances, except for the scratched and dented fridge. Is this really what I waited for all these years? Extremely disappointed. How hard would it be to replace my door? Any other appliance store would have sent it back to Samsung and requested a replacement from Samsung. Why can't Samsung just do that for me?Thanks alot Samsung. Also, I submitted this same review on Samsung's site and guess what? They won't post it.
Bought a Samsung Refrigerator in Feb 2015. In May of 2016 the Fridge part stopped cooling and I lost everything in the top. Called Repair as the Fridge is not under warranty. The service man made 5 trips out and 2 parts and now it is Sept 7 2016 and it is making a noise so long had to unplug it. It was frozen up again in the fridge part and was not cooling up to 62 degrees even though there is ice frozen to coils. Service could not even get panel off until it thawed for 24 hours or more. I still do not have a refrigerator working. The freezer still works fine like others have said. I am getting the run around and given a ticket number and no service guy will come out (they said they can not get answers from tech support) and there is no wiring diagram as other appliances have. Do your research. Do not buy Samsung!
We a little over a year ago purchased a house full of Samsung appliances starting with washer and dryer, liking both the look and the way they worked. When we were ready to redo the kitchen we decided to purchase fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave all Samsung. The fridge shortly after installed developed water stain in the screen of water dispenser, however since we were 1 day past the original purchase date the warranty was up and Samsung would not help us, and also said a water stain would be considered cosmetic, however now we smelled something burning and now you can see burn area around water spot in water dispenser screen. Not please with Samsung service after spending so much with a house full of Samsung appliances.
Samsung RF28HMEDBSR/AA - This has been the worst purchase I have ever made. Noisy refrigerator. It hums all day and night.
The refrigerator crispers have water in them after a defrost cycle. I was told by the factory that it is just out of warranty. I researched the same problem other people had so I could try to fix the problem. I removed the back cover and installed a short wire into the drain and wrapped it around the defrost heater because the drain line is icing up but a month or so later the same problem is happening again. Samsung refrigerators are junk and there should be a recall because this is a factory defect.
Last year, I bought the three door Samsung ref model # RF323TEDBSR. Nice ref BUT if you like ice then SAVE your money, this ice maker is slower than DIAL UP on the internet. Yes, I had the ice maker changed out. It's just very very slow dropping ice into your glass. That issue may follow all the ice makers installed in the Samsung ref. It's pointless to offer any suggestions to the Samsung Corp to look into the possible changing ice maker companies. Corporations get too big to listen to consumers in this day and time.
I have a model RF24FSEDBSR/AA. The ice maker repeatedly freezes up, requiring me to take a hair dryer and melt the block of ice that's formed around the internal dispenser. I usually have to do this about every month. Then, I usually have difficulty getting the ice bucket aligned so I can reinsert it. The owner's manual says if it doesn't line up to turn the helix on the back of the bucket 90 degrees and try again. I've tried repeatedly (and not just 90 degree turns) and haven't had any luck. I feel like I'm trying to crack the combination on a safe! The bucket sits on our kitchen counter until I calm down and regain my patience to try again. Would not get a Samsung fridge again.
I purchased 4 new Samsung side by side refrigerators about 16 months ago. One by one they have failed in less than 16 months. I purchased four for an apartment complex and it was a costly mistake to say the least. After having Samsung customer service wear me down (they won that fight) I finally just gave up. I basically threw away $6,000.00. I was dumb enough to purchase Samsung without doing my homework, but I'm not dumb enough to fix a pathetic product that won't last. No good money after bad here!!! So, I have given up on Samsung and going back to good old Whirlpool where I should have stayed in the first place. My problems were the same as everyone else's. Ice makers go bad, Blades rub on ice, motherboards go bad. It's amazing that with the internet the word never got out. I'm just trying to do my small part to save someone else $$$.
We thought we were buying a top-of-the-line refrigerator when we bought our Samsung fridge 2 years ago. Model RF263BEAEBC. French doors, bottom freezer, ice and water dispenser in the door. From the beginning, the ice/water dispenser was a problem. It leaked and water ran down the left front and over to the left side of the unit, puddling in the floor. If I selected ice cubes, I got ice cubes and crushed ice, with a bit of water thrown in for good measure. Since day 1 it has never worked as it should. We have tolerated it all this time because everything else was fine. Now, we have no ice and have discovered there is (we're thinking) no water getting to the ice maker in spite of the cutoff valve being wide open and undisturbed since installation. I have recently noticed water gathering in one of the fridge drawers. I am SO disgusted with this fridge!!! I cannot and will not recommend this brand to anyone!
I bought this model a year ago in June 2016. We had one visit from tech so far when refrigerator refused to turn on and cool. Tech came and fixed issue with electronic board. Now just over a year later I am having same problem as previous writer. The refrigerator is not cooling yet freezer is. Am attempting to contact service, but meanwhile all food is spoiling. Our last refrigerator - simple model different brand with no bells whistles lasted ten years without an issue. Would not recommend this model due to issues after only one year plus. Obviously this is occurring after the warranty has expired so it will cost money to repair.
Our 1900$ Samsung 26 cu ft refrigerator was delivered 9/10/2011. It quit working 8/30/2016. We never had problems with the ice maker, although it was slow even for two adults needs of ice. I decided no use to fix it, just go get another refrigerator. If you read reviews on any brand about four hundred people always say what they bought was the worst experience possible. Even the sales guy said refrigerators rarely last more than eight years nowadays. So my advice is spend what you are willing to replace in five years. That's how long my Samsung lasted.
I purchased the RF26J7500SR/AA Refrigerator about a month ago. The ice and water dispenser is a constant wet mess. The finish is a nightmare to keep clean. I had to purchase a product Miracle Stainless appliance cleaner to clean the doors. It is noisy when the ice maker runs. Would have not purchased if I would have known.
WE purchased this Samsung Refrigerator RFG297HD January 1, 2012. To date, we have had to change out the "mother board" (Samsung paid for the 2nd mother board--yeah!), the fan assembly, two broken door shelves, and we have gone through four ice makers, three @ $275.00 a pop. And YES! You heard that right: We have had to replace the ice maker on three different occasions; the first-of-four came with the product intact. (Yeha right?) Although we initially selected this Samsung because of its features, unless Samsung offers us a huge rebate for the $725.00 we have spent to repeatedly repair this refrigerator's faulty ice maker, not to mention the costs associated with the "other things", we will NOT ever, EVER buy another Samsung refrigerator. Not to worry: We are NOT holding our breaths, while contemplating that Samsung will come through for us. BUYER BEWARE!!!
We purchased our Samsung French door refrigerator (Model #RF263BEAESR) in March of 2013. What a piece of junk and to add insult to injury... poor customer service from Samsung. The unit does not defrost properly on its own. We have been experiencing ice build up behind the back interior panel of the fridge compartment. The ice builds up to such an amount that the fan blades can be heard scraping the ice build up, which is an unpleasant sound along with the motor groaning at times. In addition, we have been dealing with water leaking from the back panel onto the shelves and inside the bins.
Contacted Samsung and they arranged for the only authorized service repair company in our area (40 miles away) to contact me. Set up an appointment with them. On the afternoon of the appointment (while I'm sitting at home waiting for them during the time block they arranged) they call to cancel. Then when I try to reschedule they keep offering only morning times which I told them I could not do. I got so frustrated with the whole ordeal I simply told them to forget it. Then when I email Samsung with my frustrations they reply with bunch of B.S. that did nothing to correct the problem or stand behind their product. Now after only being 3 years old, I am replacing this giant piece of crap with a new refrigerator because I am so disgusted with Samsung.
Go to YouTube and you will see how to videos on how to attempt to fix Samsung refrigerators with the exact same issues we are having. And there are countless horror stories on ConsumerAffairs.com of people having the same issues with their Samsung fridges. Not to mention in 2010 there was a class action lawsuit against Samsung for the exact same issues with some of their fridges. But yet Samsung has the audacity to tell me they are not aware of any such issues with their refrigerators. Funny how the appliance place we purchased our replacement fridge from no longer carries Samsung. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of Samsung for appliances... Period. They are a piece of junk and the company is horrible to deal with.
Samsung Refrigerator Model #RF323TEDBSR/AA. Unfortunately, I did not see the reviews on Samsung Refrigerators and made the worst mistake of purchasing one - my first and last Samsung appliance! It seems that most consumers are having issues with the ice makers, as well as myself. Within a few months after purchasing the Samsung refrigerator, the ice maker was not working properly and it is now not working at all. I paid $2,400 for this refrigerator. I just don't understand how a company is able to continue ripping consumers off!! In addition to other very frustrated consumers, I continue to let everyone I know via internet and otherwise to NOT purchase Samsung appliances.
We bought Samsung, French Door Refrigerator (Model No. 220NCTASE/AA) in January, 2014 from local Leon's. It's working fine, but two days we noticed the fridge is not cool as usual and I adjusted the temperature to make cooler, same as for the freezer. And it seemed nothing happens after 24 hours. Then I tried unplugged and re-plugged the power, and waited another 24 hours, I still can't feel any cold air from the fridge and freezer. I am for sure it's stopped work just after two years.
I then called Samsung support 1-800 phone number and got answered with 10 minutes, unexpected really short wait time. The girl said that she needs to transfer to technical support number. Well after 30 minutes of waiting I got hung up. I re-called the 1-800 phone number again, it happens the same. I tried to re-called the 1-800 from my cell phone and got the same hung up. This is really frustrated getting technical support from Samsung. How could be a big company like Samsung with BAD customer services? The bad thing is that we recently bought a Samsung washer. Well, from now on we will stay away from Samsung brand.
Made in Mexico. Enough said. Shoddy workmanship. See image 1 of black glob of goo. And image 2 of poorly applied aluminum tape. Really? But very bad design as well. A common problem with these refrigerators is ice build up on the cooling coils on the inside of the refrigerator compartment. If you hear the refrigerator get real loud then this is likely the problem.
Called, emailed, left voice messages to Samsung and NEVER got thru and not a single response. Thanks for the YouTube community there were some guys who tackled this problem and I learned how to fix it myself. But it is only a temporary fix and the problem will happen again. Good thing we bought it on Black Friday when the price was 50% off. I've seen complaints where people paid full price for this POS refrigerator. I'd say Samsung is all but done as a company. Buyer beware.
I would never purchase or recommend a Samsung appliance again after our experience with our Samsung refrigerator that we purchased in Fall 2013. After owning the refrigerator for ~9 months, I began to notice water accumulating under the deli drawer. I thought it might just be normal and cleaned it up every month or so. Around 15 months after purchase, I noticed the water accumulating more often and to a greater degree. Water would spill out of the fridge when we opened the doors (sometimes sheets of ice). I called Samsung and the refrigerator was not under warranty any longer.
Over a period of the next 9 months, Samsung sent out 3 different repair companies. None of the companies could fix the problem. Water and ice continued to accumulate, spilling all over the floor whenever the fridge was opened. Large amounts of mildew grew due to the moisture. The fridge had to be shop-vacuumed monthly to clean out all of the water. After Samsung telling us that there was nothing else that they could do, we finally purchased a new refrigerator from a different manufacturer. We moved the fridge to our garage and it is now going to have to be hauled away due to the continual growth of mildew due to the water accumulation problem. We are so frustrated that we spent $2000+ on this refrigerator and it cannot even be used in our garage!
Samsung Refrigerator RF32FMQDBSR problems - After a year I noticed the ice maker bin getting harder and harder to remove and finally it froze up so solid it took 4 hours to thaw and remove the ice bin. It did this again within a month. After some researching I find this is a problem others are having also. Since that second thaw I have been removing ice build up under the ice bin weekly to keep it from freezing up again but it's getting worse. It does this whether the ice maker is on or off. After watching this appliance for the last couple of months, I have concluded the drain line for the ice maker defrost has frozen up stopping the drain path of the ice maker defrost melt, which now overflows to under the ice bin and refreezes. This is an obvious bad design with no clear fix in sight. If I were to clear this drain line (don't know how) it will do it again in a year from buildup of ice. The other issue is that ice maker cannot dispense cubed ice, again poor design.
I bought a Samsung Refrigerator about less than a year ago from HHGREGG. About a month ago, the refrigerator became faulty. There was no cooling in the fridge, however the freezer was working fine. The milk and other perishable items were getting spoiled in the fridge. Immediately I contacted Samsung technical support, they made me reduce the fridge temperature, but that did not help in any way. Finally a ticket was generated and it was given to 'Dependable Services' (Samsung contracts with third party to provide repair and maintenance service) to fix the issue. This is where my nightmare started.
After great difficulty I was able to get hold of some customer service person in 'Dependable Service'. Finally they gave me a service technician visit date that was about a week away. On the said date, they called me and said the spare parts did not arrive, so the visit was pushed to next week. After a week of finally waiting, again I got a call from the customer service team saying one of the spare parts was there and other was in someone else's truck. Then they postponed the visit for another week. Now again they called me and left a voice mail (I was not reachable). Immediately I called back when I saw the voice mail in the evening. I was told the ticket was cancelled due to no response (they call a single call no reply from customer is a no response for them). I had to call Samsung and had to get another ticket.
After all this hassle, finally the technician arrived at home after more than 3 weeks of complaints, back and forth calling. The technician comes home and says he did not have spare parts (the cooling fan had to be replaced) to fix the fridge. I was shocked. They had postponed the repair for more than 3 weeks giving one reason or another saying they were getting parts from Samsung to repair, and here comes the technician without the parts. The whole thing has been a nightmare. I had to call Samsung customer service many times, and they ask me to talk to dependable service. They are giving me a run around. I regret buying a refrigerator from SAMSUNG, THEY HAVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am without refrigerator for more than a month now... I would never ever buy any Samsung product ever in my life. I learnt my lesson, will stay away from the name SAMSUNG.
Just purchased a samsung frig. Ice maker working slow. I SPENT 73 minutes on phone, dropped 3 times. I never received answer. Were only very rude. Run around. I like products look and features. Will never purchase a samsung appliance again. SAMSUNG has not earned my business.
I bought a Samsung Refrigerator in 2007. Nothing but problems. 4 Ice maker installed at almost $400.00 a piece. I call Best Buy. They were no help. No one in the town that I live will do repair work. They said they would not repair. Was not worth fixing. I found one repair place in the next state. They charge me $95.00 just to come to my house. I called Samsung after this problem persisted. I thought they would show a little sympathy, not a chance. That equals to an ice maker every 2 years I have owned this piece of junk.
I have bought 2 Samsung tablets, a phone, a refrigerator and a range. You would think that consumer loyalty would matter but it doesn't. This fridge cost me $2415.00 plus $1600.00 for ice makers that is a total of $4015.00. This is a bad joke. The kicker is Samsung also makes the ice makers. They get your money every way you turn. I bought a Whirlpool fridge 28 years ago. It is still working and so is the ice maker. I should have known better, stick with what works. I will never waste my money on anything that has Samsung on it again.
We bought Samsung fridge on 11 June 2016 (Model No. RT39K5538S9) from BAJAJ ELECTRONICS. Within a week started formation of ice inside the fridge. We kept quiet and it started leaking water in 1st month. We raised compliant (No. **). Customer care people instead of coming to site and rectifying they instructed to do switch off the fridge let the ice melts. We did and one week it is fine. Again started forming ice. Again we raised compliant (No. **). Service engineer came this time and said PCB and Sensor needs to be replaced.
Why Samsung is selling damaged products to customers? Without a proper check they are supplying products to the showrooms which is causing problems to consumers. We bought that fridge with 44,000 and suffering a lot. Instead of replacing the product if it is having problem they are repairing the fridge as it is 5 or 10 year old fridge. Disgusting. We informed all our apartment, colleagues and friends, approx. 75 people, not to buy Samsung products and they will not buy for sure.
I purchased a Samsung 2 door with freezer drawer from Best Buy a little over a year ago. First problem was a build up of frozen ice under the cool select tray. I chipped the ice out figuring it might be some water that leaked under the tray by accident. Two weeks pass and the same thing happens again. I call Samsung and of course they say the warranty is out and they can't do anything to resolve my issue. A week later the ice maker goes out. How can a year old refrigerator have these issues? Samsung offers no remedy for the problems and the customer service is horrible. That was a complete waste of $1500.
I will never purchase a Samsung product again. When I see people looking at Samsung refrigerators, I immediately tell them the issues I have and for them to look at the reviews before making the same mistake I did buying a Samsung refrigerator. If Samsung refuses to help me I'm going to help others by persuading them to stay away from the Samsung product. I even took pictures of my issues to share with potential Samsung buyers.
I bought a new refrigerator from Home Depot on June 22, 2016 (receipt attached). It was delivered on July 7, 2016. First the two front doors were not even. After numerous phone calls to home depot and Samsung the problem was partially corrected. After about a week of installation the unit shutdown by itself. Unplugging and re plugging it seemed to fix the problem and it started working again. We were away for a weekend and the unit shutdown and internal fridge and freezer temperature went to 80 F. All the food was spoiled.
Again after numerous calls to Samsung and home depot a technician came and said the unit was overheating because of internal leaks of the coolant. He said he was going to report the problem to Samsung and I need to wait for Samsung for their decision if they want to replace the unit or send parts to repair the unit. This was on the 18th of August. We still do not have a resolution to the problem. My calls get transferred from one place to another and dropped many times. Very dissatisfied with their response. I do not have a working refrigerator after spending close to $3000 and both companies do not consider that I deserve a quick resolution to this issue. + I have been without a refrigerator for more than a week now during these hot summer days, but the response from these big companies is very disappointing to say the least.
The worst service - warranty service I have ever encountered. 2+ hours on the phone and their website, and I am no further along than when I started. The service rep did not even know who does their service in SC, and will have someone in some other department call me, in 1-2 days, with who does their appliance service under warranty. WTF? The warranty service department does not know who does their warranty service? Just imagine another 2 hours of this on the phone. And still no service. There is no excuse for this incompetence, ineptitude, and overall total lack of care for their products and customers.
Fact - I will never buy another Samsung appliance for my home and will tell 10x as many people as I can of the experiences. (This was not the first, but the worst. The other calls were not good, but the problems reported were eventually fixed - the first time.) The repeated problems we had were the icemaker and some unit called an evap cover and defrost. Expensive and the same issues continued to malfunction over the next 4 years - again, repeatedly. In the reviews I read, this seemed like a very common quality problem. DO NOT BUY. My repair costs have nearly equaled the cost of the unit. In less than 4.5 years.
I purchased my Samsung French door refrigerator, model RF26HF, December of 2014. From the start the fridge was louder than my old one. Shortly after that the ice machine was producing ice at a very slow rate and is currently making ice when it wants too. We have also encountered a flap misalignment on one of the French doors. Currently, August 20, 2016, I found a pool of water at the base of my fridge, underneath the food storage bins. When I removed the storage bins I discovered a thick piece of ice the width of the base of the fridge. I also saw water dripping from the twin cooling back panel as well as coming out from the base of the door. As figured I was over my one year warranty and Samsung needed to charge me to look at the problem.
Samsung did try to blame it on a filter issue and then a humidity issue, which is neither the problem. Samsung left me with no resolution and stated a technician needed to be called in to determine the exact issue. I was not given a price because that couldn't be determined until a ticket was created. After hearing this ridiculous news, I have had enough with Samsung. After reading many many poor and similar issues with this specific refrigerator Samsung needs to acknowledge a true manufacturing problem that's affecting many families. At this point with everyone having the same issue there should be a recall in place. I will never buy a Samsung product ever again!
We purchased the Samsung refrigerator (Rsh260sh) about 7 years ago and started having to replace parts 6 months after the warranty expired. We've spent several hundred dollars for 3 fans and 2 ice makers. Now have to keep the water line to the ice/water clamped off to prevent the water dispenser from randomly flooding my kitchen. My door has rust stains down the front. Of course Samsung has offered no help except one visit from a repairman that states it's unrepairable due to the rusted door and out of warranty. #NeverSamsung!
Samsung refrigerator is the worst purchase I ever made in my life. Couldn't even last for 2 full years. And service department is insane. They give me appointment 3 times to come fix but nobody shows up and when you ask them why they didn't come they have nothing to say except sorry.
I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator in 2013, RF217ACRS/XAA, French door. After less than 1 year one door became broken, because plastic hinge of the door. In that time, it still was under warranty. This year I have another problem, ice start accumulates in back side of refrigerator section. This summer I already defrosted it 3 times. Lady in service center told that problem is more likely in evaporator and repair will cost me $300. Sounds like I will need spend more money to keep this one in working condition. I am very, very upset. So, they use cheap plastic and cheap part, put together and after sell it as expensive unit.
Purchased my Samsung French door fridge from Lowe's in June 2014. Immediately noticed that ice comes out very slow. After a year the ice stopped coming out at all. Could not figure out how to get the ice maker opened up so called Samsung. They told me to change out the water filter ($60) and that would fix it. I assured him the one year old water filter was not the problem but he "guaranteed" me it would fix the problem. Of course it did not. Because you know you are going to be on hold with them forever I waited several months to call again.
Now the door flap on the left side door has had a spring broken and does not close properly. Called again they finally agreed to send someone out to look at it. Need a new door flap ($80) and when I described the ice problem the tech says "oh yeah, I have fixed lots of those. Samsung knows about the problem. It costs $200 in parts." What?? I called to argue that they should pay for the parts. Getting the runaround and not getting anywhere. Worst $2000 ever spent! Never again will I buy a Samsung product.
We recently purchased all new appliances for our new home. The three door counter depth model was delivered & installed by our dealer. We quickly noticed
that the refrigerator doors were "sweating". Over three days I had contact with Samsung Customer service three times and a "service" representative once. Total time spent telling my story over and over again to people I had difficulty understanding amounted to about 2 hours. I finally became so angry that nothing was being accomplished that I told the lady I was going to hang up and let her figure out what was happening to my service request & call me back...and, if I did not hear back from her in a reasonable time period I was going to return this abomination. I did not hear from her.
I have contacted my dealer and am returning this and will NEVER again purchase a Samsung product. Having been in a manufacturing/consumer product company for over 40 years I know world class customer service. Samsung doesn't gave a clue! Not sure how they continue to sell consumer products with such pitiful follow up.
I purchased my Samsung refrigerator June, 2015. Within 6 weeks, water started leaking from under the freezer. I called Samsung customer service who attempted to give me some 'how-to' information. This did not work. For over 1 year I've tried to rectify the problem via Samsung until they finally said, "sucks to be you!, your appliance is out of warranty". I pushed the issue and was told to submit receipts, which are on thermo paper and no longer readable. It has been determined to be 'un-repairable' because there is no Samsung service repair in my area. Likely a simple adjustment needs to be done, but Samsung will not authorize repair. They tell me that I will have to send in the paperwork, all labels from appliance, the cord (plus a video of me cutting said cord), and they will review the file and send me a check... OK... let me trust that process.
Garbage. Ice maker never worked correctly. Shelves break. Door flapper broke. Freezer drawer slides blew out. Never cold enough. Freezer door handle pulled completely off. Freezer fills with 4" of ice on bottom and leaks water constantly. Ruined my floor. Threw away broken freezer sliding drawer. Always had to pull out and unplug to reset "frozen electronic controls". Wasted plenty of food. Wish I had a bomber to drop it through factory roof. Just a complete waste of raw materials and food. Such junk and a waste of money. The only good thing about it is the arched front design which makes your reflective figure look better, while standing on a puddle smelling rotten food. Will bad mouth this company until the day I die. My Samsung tv sucks too.
Samsung Model RF32FMQDBSR/AA. I purchased the Samsung 4 door refrigerator around 8 months ago. I follow all the instructions regarding the ice maker when I went on vacation. When I got back home again I check my owner's manual and follow the instructions with the ice maker. After 24 hours there was no ice make yet. I check the manual again to make sure I did everything I was supposed to do. Once again I waiting and no Ice. After giving it a week and having the Ice maker not making any Ice, I contact Samsung. The lady at the phone ask me for the model number, my phone, and located the account then she proceed to asked me what was the issue. I explained it to her that the Ice maker was not working that I try everything in the manual but it did not work. I also explain that I follow the instructions to removed the Ice bucket, however the bucket wasn't coming out, at all.
She ask me some questions about if the Ice light was lit up on the door and if said off the Ice maker wasn't going to make ice. No kidding Sherlock. I'm not a moron. I calmly explain to her that after a week of not having Ice I turn it off. No sense on having the feature on if is not working. She then advised me that if it was something they can't fix by phone but they needed to send a repair person then I was going to get charge for the visit. But if the repair person was needed then the visit was free of charge. I was told that a service representative was going to called me within 2 business days. She proceed to gave me the service number reference that I needed to gave the tech (**).
As she told me I received a call from the service tech to schedule the appointment. However the service tech was from Oklahoma and I'm in Pennsylvania. The tech was sorry for the misunderstanding, it wasn't his fault. I contacted Samsung again and I explain to the male representative the issue with the address and I gave him my reference number. The gentlemen proceed to tell me that my refrigerator didn't have warranty. Wait what happens in 3 days? I explained that it when I spoke with the lady that gave me the reference number my refrigerator had warranty. Well I'm not one to argue with customer service representative since they are provided a script on what to said. I told him "Just give me the tech number please." He did gave me a service representative from Reading PA.
I called them to schedule an appointment and when I gave the lady who answer the phone the reference number. She proceed to tell me I needed to provide for them the receipt of purchased, that the visit was going to be $70 plus labor and parts. I again, didn't want to argue another customer service representative. I make the schedule, however after thinking about it I cancel it. Who knows what they are going to charge me. What happen to the warranty? This refrigerator is Top Samsung Product with a cost of almost 4,000 dollars. If I'm going to paid I'm choosing who I let in my house.
I have Samsung products all over my house since I believed to stick with one company, washer, dryer, phone, microwave on and on and on. I have never contacted Samsung for service. The first time that I need service They give me a hard time, that's not good customer service. Since I'm selling my house and moving out of state soon, instead of paying a repair person I will sell ALL my Samsung electronic and start new with another company. Before you spend that much money on a Samsung product make sure they are not going to give you the runaround.
Purchased a Samsung 4 door fridge w/ ice and water. Ice stopped working properly 2x within 6 months and again at 13 months. Had to fight service at 13 months as it was out of warranty. At about 16 months inverter board blows. Catastrophic failure. Samsung customer service essentially tells me to go pound sand. Factory authorized repair diagnoses it as compressor, replaces compressor w/ new. System still inoperable. Finally local repair guy replaces inverter board and unit finally starts. Customer service is rude and surly and essentially tells you to go screw, with a 18 month old $2700 refrigerator. NEVER buy this product for both quality issues and customer service.
