I like that Master Spas' products are made in the United States. I went to a showroom close to home and the salesmen were really humble. I told the one I spoke with that I was not interested in all the lights and the underwater speakers. All I needed was a giant bathtub. He told me he knew exactly what I needed. I got a plug-and-play three-person tub from them and they brought it to me the afternoon I bought it. The next evening, I was in the tub. You should go for a Master Spas. It's so easy to set up, take care of, and keep-clean.

We got the Clarity 7 from Master Spas. It's a dual motor. So, you can turn on two sets of jets if you want to have one or the other. I had a wonderful experience with the delivery and installation team. They were great. The only inconvenience right now is manually having to take the top off and set it on the side. It's easier taking it off than it is lifting it to put it back up on, particularly when it's ice and snow. But I'm good. We're very happy with it.

We have a neighbor that dealt with Master Spas. So we checked out about two other places but went up to Fort Wayne from Indianapolis and saw some on the showroom. We didn't spend a lot of time looking around but went to two or three other places to have an idea. We happened to find one that was on sale, which turned out to be nice. It was on a Saturday and there weren't many salesmen there. We were ready to walk out and then talked to a salesman before we left, and he showed us around and kind of pointed out one of them and we came back to it and that's what we ended up buying. I would recommend the dual pump to anybody buying a unit. We like the lounge. The size and the way it's set up, its fit is perfect.

We went to three different storefronts and then we looked online as well. The company that we went through preferred Master Spas. That company was the most attentive and they answered questions and had the best options as far as the hot tubs themselves. So, the features that they provided compared to the features that the other ones have along with the price made us decide on Master Spas. The rep did a good job.
The Healthy Living fit us. It's got the different changing lights and a semi-lounger, which has got the foot jets in it. The only issue we have with it is one of the lines for one of the jets in the very bottom of it got kinked during the installation. The guys figured out what it is and then it's going to get fixed once it warms up enough that we can drain it and flip it without the lines freezing. Still, I like the quality. Up until the last week and a half, we've been in it almost every night. It helps with the muscles of my knees.

We searched around and Twilight from Master Spas was the one that was best for us. I have lupus and the owner's daughter has it too, which was why he made these hot tubs. So, it’s marketed for people with lupus. Using the spa is wonderful. It's the best thing ever. People should get one. It’s the best buy out there in the market. We've done a lot of research and it’s wonderful.

The people at the place I bought my Master Spa from were friendly. They brought the tub to my location and I hooked it all up. So far, I like the jets it has. But, all Master Spas pamphlets talk about a startup kit that comes with it which includes the chemicals. I was given one jar of sanitizer and that was it. The outlet store said that Master Spas doesn't send the startup kit with their product and they expect stores to supply that. The stores don't. When I spend that kind of money on a hot tub, the company should at least supply the initial startup. Other than that, a Master Spas product is a good tub to buy.

My tub can seat up to eight and it's the middle-of-the-road size. The hot, bubbly water is great. The lights are nice as well. We are very happy.

My mother (79 years old) purchased a Master Spas hot tub just a little over a year ago at a "home show" of some sort, here in Colorado Springs. She was promised that there would be no issues with service, obtaining parts, etc. She believed the pitch and pulled out her credit card. About 2 months (or less) of the warranty expiring, the hot tub was losing water. I investigated it for her and saw that it was leaking somewhere from the bottom. I called Master Spas for her and they said "no dealers in Colorado Springs" however, they have an "authorized master spa service center" in Colorado Springs, "Dr. Spa". I contacted Dr. Spa and reached an answering service of which directed me to leave a detailed message and then to send a text message as well.
After waiting almost a week, I had not received a return call or text message. I called again and this time Dr. Spa answered. I once again gave him all the pertinent information. Dr. Spa then told me that he didn't like working with Master Spas since they were very difficult to work with and get paid for regarding warranty work. I told him that this didn't involve warranty and that I would pay him myself. He then said that in that case, he'd be happy to come out, however, he'd have to call me back in a day or so to set up a time. He never called back. I called back again, went through the same procedures of answering machines, text msgs, etc. and still have not heard anything back. So much for having an "authorized master spa service center" for service support.
I then contacted another facility that Master Spas recommended as a "back up" (hmmm, did they know something?), Dino Spa Service. Same thing - several phone calls, several answering machines, and no return phone calls. So, I must recommend to anyone in the Colorado Springs area, or any area for that matter that doesn't have an actual Master Spas dealer for support - DON'T BUY ANY MASTER SPAS PRODUCTS - YOU WON'T GET ANY SERVICE SUPPORT! I am now going to pursue getting another hot tub for my mother from a local dealer here in Colorado Springs. I feel my 79 year old mom got "fleeced" by Master Spas.
Hi Mike. We're sorry to hear that your mom's hot tub had a leak. We're also sorry to hear that you've had issues getting ahold of a service center to fix the leak. Unfortunately, because those service centers are completely different companies from us, there isn't much we can do on that end. Any issues with how they handle business would need to be taken up with them directly.
Looking at our database, it doesn't appear that you've been in contact with our customer service team here at Master Spas headquarters. I would highly recommend reaching out to them so they can help advise you on which steps to take next. They can be reached by emailing customerservice@masterspas.com or by calling (800) 860-7727. Thanks for the feedback.

I got the Twilight TS 2 from Master Spas. It has all the jets and stuff to put the drinks. It was a little more pricey, but it was definitely worth it. They helped me out the first couple of weeks when I was learning how to use it. I do my strip testing at home. I go there once a month and buy supplies because I feel comfortable with the way they did things. When I have any issues or any questions, they have explained so much and so good that now, I pretty much control everything by myself. They took their time to teach me.
This is one of the best purchases I have done my entire life. I really regret that I didn't do this before. It’s the best thing that happened to my body physically. I'm an ex-professional baseball player and now, I do a lot of baseball instruction daily. In the case that I have right now, the way that my body recovers is with after I'm doing this. I'm gonna be 50 years old and my body feels energetic, not tired and not painful at all. My body feels 30 years younger than what it was before I owned the spa.

The tub has good quality. I like the smooth finish. It also had a lounger and I like the colors on it, too. I was able to get it within two weeks. They were really good and honest. I was wondering where our hot tub was and the rep said, “Call this number. They’ll get in contact with you.” And they did. They were great to work with and I would do it again.

The Michael Phelps 700 was the only one that would fit. We have limited space. The Michael Phelps version of the Master Spas have three pumps instead of two. We were also impressed with our local dealer.

We got one of the half spas with the therapeutic jets. We had seen the show Master Spas had at the Cedar Park Center a few times. And we took a bed and breakfast that had one. We liked it there that we decided to get one for ourselves. The delivery went great. The team got the tub in here just fine. Only it took longer than expected but that is due to all the COVID stuff. I had to add a pre-fill thing for the kit because I expected that to come in the initial kit. Other than that, we needed more information about getting the electrician there to hook it up, since the installation team couldn’t do that. Or maybe have a plug for it. I was surprised we didn't have a cord option on it.

I knew somebody that had a Master spa. I knew it was good quality. The reps sat the tub down where I wanted it, filled it with water, and it started going. Everything is going pretty good. I only had two issues. I went in the local office twice with my two issues, and they just helped me with that. There was a little knob on the jets that fell off, but they showed me how to put it back on, so that was easy. The other was I'm a first-time spa owner. I had no idea how to do chemicals, but they helped me out pretty good. So, I figured it out. They did a good job. I have a bad back and the tub does help.

We attended The Big E here in Massachusetts last year. It's a big consumer show and all the vendors were there. My wife and I were able to look at all the different hot tub models and she decided she liked the Master Spa the best. She liked the price, features and looks of their tub. We purchased it and though there was a delay due to COVID, the delivery and installation were on time with what they had projected. The guys who did the work were phenomenal. They made my wife very happy. Any questions that we've had, they've answered. We're very happy with the whole process. The only minor shortcoming I've seen is that the control pad is not backlit.

Master Spas had the better model for the triangle shape of the space where I was putting the spa. I got a Twilight Model from them but it was quite a wait to get it. When we ordered it in July, it wasn't in stock and we didn't get the spa until December. Other than that, I would highly recommend Master Spas. So far the quality of the tub has been good. I love it. The reps reached out to me several times making sure everything was up and running and that I was satisfied with the product.

I purchased the spa on 7/2/2020. We left thinking we will get our pad ready and we would see our tub in 3 weeks. Oh no 3 weeks later they were collecting more money but no delivery date on the Spa. Finally, after multiple unreturned calls, I contacted the local salesperson who helped move along the delivery date. It arrived on 8/11/2020. The delivery person had one helper and they dropped the tub off the side of the trailer leaving scratches and damage to my tub that we were told, "That's too bad you have to look at those marks. Just use a magic eraser and it will hide the scratches." This did not fix the skirting but they were ok with that. We opened everything after it arrived and we're missing the exercise equipment that was part of our packages.
Multiple calls again, we were being told we were not looking in the right place. No, it was not there. They finally sent it and it arrived several weeks later. Stairs a key part of getting into the pool that is almost taller than I am, nowhere to be found. Backordered, sorry, no calls with updates. Finally, after too many calls to count, they are now offering to credit us a small amount, would not cover the purchase of the same type of stairs, or if we prefer we can just keep waiting. We passed on the credit. I called the stair manufacturer, they have other colors just not that one. I called Master Spas back and they would have the manager call me. No response from the manager at Master Spas. The jets don't seem to be working properly. No that can't be. They have never heard of that before.
To top it off I get into the pool about a week ago, the stainless steel is rusting. Do they say I'm sorry, let me take care of that? Nope, they say you have not followed the guidelines set forth so you must have caused. It. Really! Not only do we follow the recommendations we even purchased our chemicals from them directly. What a joke. A big dollar purchase for us and we have nothing but regrets. All I want are jets that work, hardware that does not rust, and stairs to get in and out so I don't crack a rib. I would NOT recommend this company. Wish I had never purchased from them!

We visited a family friend who had gone through the research and all the sales pitches. I loved his Master Spas unit and I made the decision from that. He did most of the work for me. He had done all the legwork and had a good experience. The gentleman who sold me the spa was headquartered in Indiana but he was coming in to Ohio for a show. He came by my house on Saturday morning before the show and checked out my deck to make sure it would work 'cause we have a raised deck. He went out of his way completely.
Covid kind of paused everything and it was like four to five months before we got the hot tub but they were upfront with us on what we needed to do. I had the electrician come out to my house and get everything done within a month or two of purchasing it. When I talked about the lead time, we got ours moved up a little bit because they had a customer that wasn't ready. They called me on a Friday and said, "Hey, if you can take this on Monday, you can have it." We ended up getting it a month earlier than we had hoped and the process was great. They sent people who were very helpful in telling me where it should set. I'm very happy with the jets and the different places you can sit within the hot tub that hit different parts of your body. There's a water feature that's really nice. We also got an upgraded cover and we like that. Everything seems to be pretty good.

We went to a promotion that was going on here in Frisco, Texas, and we looked at all the Master Spas, and we found one that was the size and shape that we really liked. We went ahead and bought it. The sales rep was a nice guy. He was very informative and enthusiastic. He was a good salesman. The installation was good. The guys could have been a little more thorough with their explanations of things. I also noticed that when they were showing me how to clean the filters in the spa, they didn't wash their hands and they got dirt all over the filters, and now I can't get that off. But they were pretty good. We're enjoying the spa very much. We're both in our 60s and we have our usual aches and pains of getting old, and it helps us relax and get the kinks out of the muscles. It's definitely doing the job.

I purchased a Twilight 7-2 spa at an event in my town. It was delivered on time with no problem. However, within 2 weeks things started going wrong. First an LED light went out, then the LED control button on the control panel stopped working so I can't use the lights. Then the Jets buttons on the control panel stopped working. I called the factory authorized repair person and he said that they are behind and everything is backordered. He has clients who are trying to keep their spas from freezing while the parts are delayed. Has people waiting since October for parts.
He said the control panels were switched to a touch pad design and they are sensitive to getting wet. Wow - did they even test it? You can't have a control panel next to the water without getting wet. When the cover is closed, the whole area fills with steam. So now I can't use the jets on the spa - so far it is still staying hot which is good. I worry that will stop working too and we live in an area that gets below freezing often in the winter. They are having another spa sale in my town this weekend. Why don't they use the parts to fix the spas they have already sold! I will attend this weekend to ask them how I can return it.
Hi Evelyn. We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with your spa. Unfortunately with the COVID pandemic there have been many part shortages as several of those manufacturers have had to shut down temporarily and haven't been able to produce those parts for us. As they start to reopen, I assure you that we are working hard to make sure everyone who needs a new part is able to get one.
As far as the touchscreen control panel, there is a potential your spa could've unfortunately been built with a faulty control panel but I assure you it's not because they're sensitive to water. We do test our products and would not have chosen that part if it couldn't be used near water.
We're very sorry to hear that your spa hasn't been working as expected. We hope to hear soon that your dealer and servicer have been able to make those repairs. Thank you for your honest feedback.

When I went in their showroom, I was looking at this Michael Phelps spa but the Twilight Series jets were more concentrated in the corners where we would be sitting more versus the Michael Phelps version. They sold us what was coming off the product line for Master Spas. I did take a brochure home with me and then when I got there, I saw there were these features you could add on that I would have gotten initially. So we did call back and add on.
We ordered the spa in July with the expected delivery date of October. There was a light package that you could add and a different filtration system. But if we would have gotten those additions, it would have pushed the delivery of the spa out until March of 2021. So once we found that out, we went with the one that we could get sooner. I asked them why they didn't upsell me and the rep told me that Master Spas is pretty much running a standard model with options off the floor just because of the demand. The Master Spas reps were very helpful and knowledgeable. It was a really good experience.
The spa has a great quality. We’ve had it since October and we've been using it a lot. The only kind of weird thing was they deliver the spa and then the electrician comes out, so you don't get to turn the spa on until after they leave. So they were telling us how to use it before there was water in it or we could do anything with it. I wish they would have demoed me after the electrician. But they're available. I call and the rep walks me through stuff. They've got videos in which they want you to leverage those too. I read the book and watched the videos. Then when I did go into the shop to get some new supplies, I asked them some questions and they showed me on a model in the shop how certain things work. So that helped out.

Master Spas is awesome and customer service has been the best part of the experience. I've had techs many times since I got my hot tub and they've been amazing. So helpful. I also had to bribe the installers to help me set up the cover. I have tools, but I had no idea how to set it up, so I asked them to help me. Eventually, they gave in and helped me. It's good. However, the information that I got on the chemical situation wasn't exactly correct. I went to another local hot tub place and they were like, “Oh, no. So far, this spa seems to be a good product. However, the company appears to be disreputable which should make people suspect about the product as well. I bought one at a showing at the Reno convention center. The salesman promised that his crew could get it where I needed it (on my deck) and to make sure I showed him numerous photos, including Google Earth and street view. He assured me that it was not a problem. However, the delivery team showed up and literally laughed out loud.
They did say I should contact the salesman and have him order up a larger delivery crew (I legally understood the extra personnel would be on my dime, even with the salesman's lies). So I contacted him immediately. He stated he would call the office the following day. I never heard another word, even though I also left a message with the company headquarters delivery POC. Zero. And the delivery crew left the damn thing on its side at a dangerous angle on my driveway (about 4 feet from the road). The company did muster the energy to respond lengthily to my dispute request with my credit card, but to this day have never attempted to contact me. So, buyer beware of the disreputable nature of this firm. I am still very disappointed. I pay $8000 and this was the result. Find a different company.
Hi Ronn. We're sorry to hear that you had a poor experience with the retailer you purchased our product from. Being only the manufacturer of your hot tub, there's unfortunately not much we can do when it comes to the delivery and installation provided by your retailer. With that being said, I did reach out to them to get more information about this situation. They did provide me with the delivery form which shows where you signed in acceptance of the delivery as it was on 10/4/20. They also sent me the spa placement form which clearly states that you would need to make access in order for them to properly deliver and install the spa, which you also signed in acknowledgement of on 9/25/20. I do want to apologize on their behalf for the issues you've had getting ahold of them. Again, as they're a completely separate company from us there's unfortunately not much we can do on that end. Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it.

The delivery guys were great. They did a good job. When they first delivered, they had the cover for it, but they didn't have the mechanism to raise and lower it that comes with it. They came back with it a couple days later and got that done. The hot tub I got was for seven and I have a family of four, so it's a little bigger. Still, I like the size of it. Seven was the right size for four. The maintenance also seems to be very easy, which I like, and the jets are good. I wish there were a few more lights in it and in hindsight, I wish I had gotten some kind of sound system in it, but other than that, I love it.
I looked at a few other places beforehand, and the six-month waiting period because of COVID and everybody buying these things, they're all sold out everywhere. Given the situation we're all in, it's definitely a seller's environment. We bought our hot tub at a show. When we went, the show had only been open for two hours, and they had sold over 70% of the ones on the floor already. I wasn't intending to buy at that moment, but I realized if I wanted one and I wanted one soon, I had to buy it right away. We bought what was available from Master Spas. I would have spent a little more time and bought a hot tub with the sound system or something else had they had that available, but I still like the one I got. I also spent more than I wanted to, but I got it right away.

Hi David. We're sorry to hear about this issue you've had with your spa.
Per page 32 of the owner's manual (linked below), the ozone system should be inspected every 12 months:
"The ozone hose and check valve connecting between the ozone generator and ozone injector should be inspected and/or replaced, if necessary, every 12 months. Depending on conditionsof the air which is being brought in to the ozone generator, the ozone hose and check valve
can wear more rapidly. This regular maintenance is not covered under the spa warranty. We recommend that your Master Spas Dealer or service organization be contacted to perform this type of maintenance."
Our Customer Service team here at Master Spas headquarters doesn't have any record of contact from you on file, but I'm sure they'd be happy to discuss this issue and how to resolve it with you. We purchased a swimspa on July 4th and were told we would get a 4-5 week delivery. 2 months later we called logistics and they said sales was wrong that it was an 8-10 week delivery and maybe two more weeks because they had to change suppliers in China. On September 28th we got a call asking if we would accept a substitute color because they could have one on the truck in 2 weeks (we accepted). On November 10th, I called logistics and they said our swimspa was already in our state and just waiting to be delivered. I was told to expect a call in a day or so because they wanted to deliver everything before Thanksgiving.
Last week my wife was contacted and they said the spa should be on a truck to our state. The only info she could get is maybe delivered within 45 days because of all required to do inventory, check out the spa after put in a warehouse, and of course COVID. My wife was also told only one swimspa could go on a truck so that was a problem as well but the rep would not provide any specifics about where the spa was at or when it would be delivered. Just generalities to get her off the phone. Unfortunately, my wife understands that 4 swimspas or several hot tubs and one swimspa could go on a truck so the conversation was not well accepted. Finally, she was told that she would get her swimspa as it was delivered just like everyone else.
I am still confused about COVID because at each contact they knew what was going on that day and no one produces a $30,000 spa and doesn't know where it is at an any moment. What we have done at this point is to turn in a request to Costco Visa to get our down payment returned. Visa and other cards do take care of their customers when a seller does not deliver. The seller has 45 days to answer the dispute. We wish we had started the process back when the original delivery date was passed. Our mistake was not getting a guaranteed delivery date on the contract to deliver or return the funds and cancel the contract. The company has shown little regard for respect when it communicates with women and appears to keep moving the target 2 weeks at a time just to get you off the phone.
Hi Rand. I'm sorry for the delay. I'm glad you reached out to us. Unfortunately, we are feeling the same frustrations. The COVID-19 pandemic has created new challenges for the entire manufacturing industry. Mandatory shutdowns, supply shortages, and increased safety precautions have slowed production time. As a result, customers such as yourself have experienced a longer waiting time than originally quoted.
As far as the waiting period after delivery, there is unfortunately not much we can do in that situation. We are only the manufacturer of the product. If you need to schedule delivery, that needs to be taken up with the company you purchased the product from. They are a completely separate company from us and any issues with delivery would need to be taken up with them.

We've been in the market for a hot tub off and on for a couple years. But now that it's getting closer to retirement for my husband, he started to get serious about it. With the pandemic, we haven't been going to the gym. We went to half a dozen different stores around here and did a lot of research on the internet about the pros and cons of different spas. Master Spas have been around for quite a long time and the reviews in general, seemed to be in their favor. The dealer was two miles from our house, which was desirable, and they had a few floor models. We saw one on the floor that we liked. The parts and the warranties fit our bills and the price was good. They were expensive but I understand that it was the going rate. All those factors seemed to fit our requirements. So, we were happy.
We got the Twilight series and it fits perfectly. We have it in our garage. We've got a three-car garage and we live in a townhouse. We didn't want it outside but we didn't want it inside. So, this is the best of both worlds. I like the jets a lot and my favorite is the high-powered jet. It's been easier than we thought to figure out the chemistry aspect of it. And so far, we've only had the hot tub for about three weeks. We haven't had any problems yet but I was hoping that if we would have an issue, we would get some good help from our local person and they would work with us and help us to resolve it timely, and with very minimum charge, if anything.
We started looking this past summer and we pulled the trigger in August but we did not get the spa until November 20th. I understood about the pandemic and I was very understanding about the production but we had to wait three months to get the spa. So, that was a little disappointing. Also, we didn't get a quote deal for getting a floor model. But it's been a good experience with Master Spas. We’re new in the game here and I'm hopeful that the experience will continue and that they will be receptive to anything we have.

Called Master Spas again was told should have been told 8 – 10 weeks delivery. September 28, 2020 received a call from Master Spas and was told it would be shipped in 2 weeks if we would accept a brown spa and delivery in another 3 weeks. We agreed.
November 10, 2020 Called logistics and was told our spa was already in WA and would be delivered by Thanksgiving. November 18, 2020 Talked To (Spa Pool and BBQ that's who we ordered from) and was told spa is in transit to WA (again) and they will try and have it delivered by Christmas or it could be in a week. He wasn’t sure when. He said once received it has to be inventoried, logged in, inspected etc. then set up for delivery. That doesn’t sound like any time soon. So again we sit and wait... We have asked for our deposit back.

We went to the show room and spoke with Angie, the sales rep. She was very helpful and she seemed so knowledgeable. We liked some of the features of the hot tub and another thing that we took in consideration was that we were able to get it this year. Most of other places were back-ordered until May of next year. The reps came out and did a site inspection before the hot tub was delivered. The people who delivered it were very friendly. The rep was knowledgeable and explained all of the features, and how to use it.
We had a Dimension One hot tub for 25 years so this one from Master Spas was the newer model. We got a Clarity spa. It has more jets and it's got a waterfall and a lounger. It's your typical hot tub. But now, instead of a wood frame, it's got the composite, so it's easier to take care of. The quality of the hot tub was excellent and the cost seemed comparable to other places we looked. When you're stuck home with COVID, we're home most of the time, and so, we’re in the hot tub a lot.
We liked the chemicals that Master Spas used and the ease of getting the chemistry figured out and keeping it balanced. The last time, we used bromine and it was a hassle. I didn't like the smell. This time, it's much easier and you don't have that chemical smell when you get out. This is unique to Master Spas. It was a great company to deal with and they were very knowledgeable. And when they came for the delivery, they were patient with us. So, it was a good experience all around and I didn't feel pressure. We've already told people.

I decided on Master Spas based on the reviews and YouTube. I looked at the owners and the construction as well as the warranty. It looked like a better quality. I wanted a larger swim area. I bought the 16-foot 5-foot deep because it fit in our area that we needed. It's a great addition to our backyard. When you're swimming and going against the current, you can have one or two pumps on. I like having the two seats in the back and the side vents for your back if you wanna stand up and have a massage. The service has been great so far. Their reps had to come out one time for the Wi-Fi connection and we had no problem there.
Everyone in the Oklahoma City Office has been nice to deal with. Some of the products that was recommended by the Master Spas team have been good to use. I watched the videos on how to use the rowing equipment and then, they suggested a full-face shield for our swimming against the current, which has helped. The filters are easy to change and maintain. The products are easy to get for chemicals. Plus, the spa is made in the USA.
We dropped our gym membership. Using the spa has less impact on the body but you still get the workout. You can use the rower. You can use the things that come with the unit for your legs and arms for the negative force on the water to where it creates more of an aerobic activity. We keep the spa at a constant 99 degrees in the winter and we can use it all year long. Master Spas have been very good to work with. It's been a pleasant experience. I've enjoyed all the attributes of the spa, the setup, the delivery and the use.

I purchased the Healthy Living 7.5 less than 3 years ago. Upon delivery and hookup, multiple jets were broken. Parts were missing, and the waterfall didn't work. After 2 months, a tech finally fixed the jets, put old scratched up parts where things were missing, and tried to fix the waterfall. It still only partially works with just a dribble.
The spa has completely died no less than 5 times in under 3 years. Every time I change the water, it breaks and won't start back up until a technician comes out and replaces multiple components. It is now dead again, and we're waiting for it to be repaired. We are strongly considering legal action against the company, as our attorney thinks we have a slam dunk case. Look elsewhere if you want a spa that you can actually enjoy. Master Spas sells garbage, and they don't stand behind their products.
Hi Scott. We're sorry to hear that you haven't had a pleasant experience with your spa. I talked to our Customer Service team here at corporate and we don't have any notes regarding contact with you. Aqua Spas, your retailer, submitted service claims to us in 2017 and 2018 - but aside from that we don't have anything on record here at corporate regarding any issues with your spa. In our communications with Aqua Spas, it seems that they've been very responsive to your complaints and have gotten out to repair your spa whenever you were having issues with it. As an accommodation, Master Spas will be covering the price of the replacement part needed to get your spa working properly again. Thank you for your honest feedback.

I am very grateful Master Spas was willing to continue their communication with me. I was able to speak with a Manager and he and I realized the service company provided Master Spas with some bad information. Because of this Master Spas then went above and beyond what they need to do to correct. They even replaced a few parts that were not warrantied. I want to publicly thank them for working with me and turning a bad experience into a good one. I would highly recommend their spas and I know they will stand by their product. That is what is important.
Original Review: Nov. 9, 2020
I purchased a Master Spa 11/19/2019. I chose their higher end spa because of the quality of the product and the information I review. In less than a year my spa has valves that are not working properly, and the acrylic has cracked. I have contacted them for service, and they have told me that it looks like the problems are possibly caused by chemical damage and thus they will not warranty the product.
What a simple way to say they will not cover something. How easy is it for them to claim you did not use proper chemicals? They could say this for everything and anything and never have to warranty a faulty product. This still does not explain the cracks in the acrylic. I have spoken to two repair companies and they have told me my color is almost impossible to match and I will always be able to see the repair. I purchased a $14,000 spa and it is less than a year old. I am not okay with a visual patch even if they do the best they can. The company is not willing to stand by their warranty. Do not purchase from them.
Hi Jon. As we've told you before, the issues with your spa were not covered by warranty because they were caused by both the excessive amount of chemicals that had been used in the water as well as the consistent exposure to the sun as you told your service tech that you had left it uncovered during the summer. Our warranty clearly states under the "limitations" section that we will not cover any damage caused by improper water chemistry or maintenance. (https://www.masterspas.com/documents/_warranties/legend/2019-legend-series-limited-warranty.pdf)
Page 26 of your owner's manual clearly states:"Always use an approved insulating spa cover by Master Spas to cover your spa when not in use, especially in outdoor installations where the spa is exposed to weather conditions and sun. Constant, prolonged exposure and use of unapproved or non-insulating spa cover can result in damage to spa surface which would not be warranted." (https://www.masterspas.com/documents/_manuals/legend/2019-legend-series-owners-manual.pdf)
As far as the water chemistry, the service tech that had come to look at your spa also communicated with our customer service team here at corporate that your chemical levels were way too high and even sent us a picture of your floater with far too many bromine tabs in it. Damage caused by improper water chemistry is not covered by warranty.
We are always more than happy to cover any issues if they are issues caused during the manufacturing process. However, the issues with your spa are clearly related to poor water chemistry and spa maintenance and thus not covered. I've included some links below that you may find helpful regarding chemicals and spa care.

Everybody else had about the same on everything else but that was the big thing. That was the difference. The quality of the spa is excellent. We love it. We're in it today. However, there needs to be a better interaction with the Wi-Fi and how you do the setup, how you create passwords and all your security questions. There's no way to get that to your email. You're doing it on your phone and there's no good way of saving it. That interface needs work. It should have interface to a password manager so that you can save this and not get hacked.

We purchased a 15-seater tub from Master Spas. It’s 8 foot wide and 15 foot long, with 46 rings on it. So we’re very happy with it. We went down to the expo and this was their fifth year at our convention center. We caught them on the last day and my wife fell in love with it. She has enjoyed it much more than I have. We ended up paying about $22,000 but it was retailing for around 30,000. The distributor is Florida-based and we've got to give them a call. Hopefully, he's got somebody close by. We experienced Hurricane Zeta and it tore the wrap off. It is useless because it’s been compromised on the strapping part of it. The straps are all fabric and it’s a zip type thing. It needs to be replaced.
We did not get any forecast of this 110 mile an hour wind. There’s a fellow across the street, next block over from us, who has a wind gauge and he said that he had multiple hits of 110 miles an hour. We had some trouble but it’s not the spa’s fault. I had even purchased for that occasion. I bought a special tarp and had it set up where I could just put rubber straps all the way around the whole thing. These things are about two inches wide and about half inch thick but I didn't dare go outside because I had a 110 mile an hour pieces of roofing coming at me. My wife was thinking that it would rip it off but I didn’t think it would have.
Everything went well. The delivery, the sale and the spa were great. The only problem I have with that spa is that for females, it’s hard to get the cover opened. The only way is to buy a more expensive one for it, which is electric. They could have offered it but I might be able to buy something where I can hook it because there are two pieces of covering. It got metal bars on the back side of each side that are framed with it, and they move with it. I can connect it to the bars and have a strap, and she might be able to pull it a lot easier. I’ll think of something and maybe Master Spas can come up with an idea where you could put it on there and hold it. And when you take it up, you’re gonna have to release it or something will put it down quite easily.

I had done my research and most of the reviews and most of the information I have found was saying to go through Master Spas versus somebody else. The Master Spas team was fine. We purchased a Master Spas 19 D Trainer. The size is what we needed with our family and the use that we were gonna use for. The biggest thing was the fact that you could have the dual temperature controls. You could have the hot tub and the swim spa area.
We did have a few issues with the dealer that we purchased it through promising timeframes then not delivering within those timeframes. That became a little bit of a headache. But other than that, once we got that all resolved, everything seemed to work out. The quality of the hot tub and the swim spa is really good. You get what you pay for. All the features work. It wasn't like I had to have someone come out and service or make sure. As I fill it up, it is ready to go as long as I follow the directions. It's fairly easy to use. Even my kids who are seven and nine years old can operate it pretty well.

Master Spas' products look the best. We liked how they looked very durable and stable to be out in the elements during winter. We purchased a swim spa and a sauna from them. The sales and installation team were great. We had some problems though after we worked with them. They kept saying they would deliver my sauna on a Friday and when I called their salesman the Monday after, he was on vacation. I left messages as nobody was at our place to help set it up. We couldn't leave it outside either as it was a wood thing so we hauled it inside our place and ended up putting it together.
We got our swim spa the day Indiana shut down with COVID and Master Spas would have gotten really swamped right after that. Their salesman said that he would be out at our location after the swim spa and the sauna got set up to give us a few pointers and help us a little. That never happened. Instead, they drop-shipped my huge three-person sauna and it was a puzzle to put together. He called though and I said that we have things figured out on our own. It was very hard to find somebody at Master Spas to ask questions to because they didn't respond to phone calls. The salesman felt bad that nobody came out so he gave us some filters and chemicals to appease us which was nice of him.
Their electrician tried to put in the electrical but then it didn't work. We had to get our own electrician. We called Master Spas and they didn't get back to us very fast. When they did, they said that the paper at the back is not correct and they explained to the electrician how to wire the swim spa and sauna up. The electrician then fixed things and got them going. Still, Master Spas needs a customer service department to answer questions for people. I have a friend who bought a hot tub and she has been having a terrible time. She has called Master Spas three times but they didn't call her back.
Hi Martha. We're sorry to hear that you've been having issues getting ahold of people who can help you and that there were delays in getting your spa's electricity hooked up. Master Spas was having like an expo where they had the different units out and they were talking about how the units worked. I really liked the guy that I was talking to and I liked the spa. We were waffling between the 8-foot or the 11-foot. I need the spa because I've had a double hip replacement and I need to do warm water therapy.
There was a promotion and the guy told me that he could get me a really good deal on the 2019. So, I went out there and talked to the guy. I had initially decided I was gonna go with an 11-foot. Then I kept looking at the book and I decided that the 8-foot had more seating. It was still a swim spa but it would be better to have more seats. As we got to talk about it, the guy said that he could do a really good deal with our 2020 and I wouldn't have to take a 2019. The order took a little longer but I wasn't ready for it anyway. I like everything about the spa. I can turn the heat off and cool it down for summer times so that it's cooler. Then, in the fall and the winter, I can turn the heat on and that's very nice. I like the jets. It does a really good job. It's not just the hydrotherapy for me. It's a good hot tub, too.
The spa's hydraulic lids are not as easy to use. When they said hydraulic to me, I thought they meant automatic hydraulic where you'd push a button. But that's not what it is. It's on a mechanism and you have to flip the things back, and then you lift it up, and then pulling it down is really harder than lifting it up. I also have to step on a step stool. It requires some physical strength and height that I don't have. So, I'm limited to my ability to use it as often as I would like to. I can't really get in the spa if my husband is not home, mainly because he won't allow it because it is more of a strenuous exercise than I thought it would be. I also wasn't impressed with the stairs at all. They're plastic. We had to build something up to it to put the stairs on.
Once you have had an injury as I've had, there's no therapy that touches the deep water, warm water therapy. These Master Spas are swim spas but they're also perfect for deep water, warm water therapy. And unless you can find a YMCA or a person who does this at their home, there's no other option. So Master Spas is the go-to for anybody and you can get this pretty hot too. You could do a small hot tub area if you did an inground pool, but Master Spas is better than that and has a better price.

The Y2 swim spa model worked out pretty good. I went with it for the features that it came with the and that particular size was the right size for the space that I had. I like the multiple seats, the different jets, adjustabilities and the light features. It came with a little bit more of a show than just your plain Jacuzzi style spa. When I spoke to the sales team, they were very good at explaining to me all of what it could do, with all the warranties, and all the benefits to it. It was a little bit more solid product. They were able to show me everything in the showroom how it was built and how it was done. So it was not something that they just threw in together.
The installation crew was very knowledgeable and kind. They were able to answer all my questions and give tips and tricks and keeping the spa clean and sanitized. They went over the use and the manual and the instruction. So far, everything is great. The only gripe that I have is the foam padding on the steps has become unglued in certain areas about a month after the installation and we actually started using it. Other than that, the spa is relaxing. My family wants to come over and use it all the time and my kids definitely enjoy it. The cost is really good. I got a pretty decent deal with the features when I started comparing what I purchased versus what was out on the market and the same sizes. I'd tell my friends that the benefits and the quality of Master Spa would be absolutely worth it.

The Twilight Series 7.2 has the six-seater, a whole lot of jets, the twin pumps, and a lounger. One of the defining factors for me is a lounger. I got the tub for therapeutic reasons following back surgery. So far, I'm okay with it. I was just having a difficult time getting the water adjusted right and I would get a lot of messages when trying to deal with getting chemicals right in there. A couple of times the jet covers have popped out on their own but I could put them back in. But I hope all that will end.
I called the Master Spas customer service team several times early on because the tub always seemed to run and I couldn't turn it off. The rep walked me through a couple of things and it seemed to work temporarily but it started again. Then one of the diverters is having a problem. It needs to be checked out by a professional but I'm not interested in paying for a house call of $50 or $75 since the darn thing is just brand-new. So, right now, I'm still just gonna figure it out myself by the book. But if it persists, I may go on and pay the service call to see if it's something that needs to be addressed.

Master Spas is one of the top ones. It has really good online reviews. We had a hot tub before and wanted a new one. We had moved to a different house that did not have a hot tub, and so we wanted one. We got the Twilight 8.2. I'm above average size, and I didn't fit that well in all the other hot tubs that I've seen. The Twilight 8.2 fits me better. We had Hot Spring hot tub in the past. The Twilight is much nicer. We bought ours used and we had a larger budget this time. So we wanted one with a little more features this time. We were happy with our one in the past, but we're very happy with the one that we purchased now.
The installation team was fantastic and the service team was really fantastic. Another reason why we chose Master Spas was the Master Spas in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The dealer really had a great salesman. He was able to answer our questions and helped us think about other things that we should be looking for in a hot tub. Then the person who helped us with all the paperwork gave us information for our electrician and talked about different things that we should think about maybe buying in the future or not really thinking about either adding to our hot tub or not based on cost. It was a really nice experience.
Since using the Master Spas, I'm much more relaxed. We are really enjoying the hydrotherapy. Both my wife and I have some arthritis. So that really helped with our achy joints and to our stressful jobs, releasing some stress at night. Our hot tub has very high quality. I would put it against any other of the hot tubs on the market. I really love the product and the customer service that we got at the dealer. We visited probably six other dealers in the Grand Rapids area and the service that we got from Master Spas went well. I would highly recommend the one that we got, but also the dealer that we went to.
We're so happy to hear this, Tim! We love hearing about the positive experiences our customers have had, not only with our product but with their dealer as well. Thank you for sharing!

This review is not about the hot tub (Since I have not received it yet). This review is about the scheduled delivery that did not take place. I received a phone call from the delivery driver informing me that the hot tub had arrived in a warehouse in Beaverton and needed to schedule the delivery. We agreed on Friday of next week (Oct. 2nd 2020 @9am). I asked for that day off of work (which was granted) so that I could be home for the delivery. I had to move out an RV trailer to make easy access to my backyard. Friday came and no delivery.
After 11pm I started calling to find out. Got no answer from the delivery drivers number and Master spa's kept giving me the runaround. After several phone calls and e-mails, I finally received a text from the delivery driver (on Thursday Oct.8th 2020) stating that he was still in Seattle making deliveries and he would contact me Monday or Tuesday of next week to schedule the delivery. "7 Days after the supposed delivery I get some kind of information" This is unacceptable. I understand that things happen, But the lack of communication is ridiculous. It's not easy for me to take time off from work. let alone lost wages for the day. All they had to do was call and say that they will be a delay or rescheduling. But to ignore a customer is bad business. I feel like I am being scammed.
Hi Tony. We're sorry to hear about this. As we are only the manufacturer of your spa and not the company responsible for delivering it, there's not much we can do in this situation. We had a pool last year and we liked it but my husband was more interested in a hot tub. We got the 8-foot by 9-foot Balance 9. We got this big enough that the little grandkids can enjoy it as a pool when they’re here as opposed to having a separate pool too. Once we said we wanted it delivered, we got it. We were delayed in getting our deck built quite a bit, but it was two weeks after when we called them and said that we were ready. It was fine, considering we had been two months delayed. The different seat settings where you get jets in different places is probably one of the biggest things that we like. We get some up high in the neck and low in the back.
When we bought the tub and when we had to do some documentation for prescription for the tax free, we dealt with the team at Master Spas and it was excellent. Two guys brought out the tub and one of them went through the weekly stuff. He went a little bit too fast though. So maybe whoever's installing it should take their time and walk through it because when they deliver it, you don't even have any water in it yet. They leave as soon as it's dropped.
We didn't have electricity hooked up yet so maybe somebody can come back. That might not be realistic with as big as Texas is. They cover a big area but there were some questions and one thing that came up was about filling it. We had a water softener and we have a hose that bypassed the water softener. It was in the book but if I hadn't asked that question, we would have already started filling it with water softener water. And it says not to use more than 50%. So, some of the things on the setup, they were kind of disconcerting.

We did a handful of research and the Twilight Series came recommended. We liked the sleek look of it and it had good reviews. Also, it had the three-year warranty as opposed to the lower-end price ranges which were only a year. When we purchased it, we worked with the guy we bought it from and he was helpful. We bought it during COVID and he was sent out to Minnesota from Arizona to help out. So, he was informative and with him leaving, it created the urgency on our end to make the deal with him too. But we got a good price compared to looking up and looking into other places as well. We've had the hot tub since end of March and we use it at least 5 to 10 times a month. It's user-friendly once you know what you're doing with it and it's decent.
Thanks, Tara! We're so happy to hear that you're enjoying your spa.

I was looking for something more on the hydrotherapeutic side of things. Something that had power and was quality. When you're gonna spend the amount that you spend, you wanna be very content with it. I did my research online and I heard a lot of great things about Master Spas and Artesian's. I looked for Artesian's but I couldn't find any. Then, I decided to drive three hours up north. I went and tested Master Spas and I could tell the difference. Had I not stepped inside a crappier one, I probably would've never realized. I wet tested two out, not knowing what the cost of the one I bought was the Master Spa. I figured they were gonna be comparable in terms of price but it was more marketing behind those products versus the actual experience.
The representatives answered all my questions and they were very helpful. They helped me understand what I was stepping into as it was a first-time purchase. So, I was very pleased. I went up, tested it out, had conversation and I bought it on the spot. That was how well it went. I was motivated too, so it helped, but he did his job very well. He was a very good salesperson. I got a TS 8.25 from Master Spas. The quality seems top-notch. It's probably the best that you can get.
The hot tub was like an investment in family but also an investment in wellness. Both my wife and I exercise quite a bit. We're trying to stay active and healthy. I played basketball last night and my body was hurting. So being able to jump into that right after basketball, it's just wonderful. So, it's impacted my life immensely from the sake of having that retreat and being able to utilize it in a fashion that helps me with my active lifestyle. I got four kids under four. They think they can swim in it and I'm still trying to teach them how to keep the water in the hot tub, but it's an overall extremely good time. It’s something that the kids look forward to, the nights when we do go in the hot tub, and then more so even when we have friends over. It's a good time. Life was cool before but with it, it is now great.
Wow! Thanks for this feedback, Christopher! We're so thrilled to hear that you and your family are enjoying your TS 8.25.

The Twilight model from Master Spas is a wonderful product. I've had very high standards 'cause I've had the best spas on the market and Master Spas is certainly consistent with that. It's a multi-person spa. I use it almost every morning for about an hour. I keep the jets on for about 10 minutes and then soak for an hour and it always performs flawlessly. So for me, it's a special time. I am able to enjoy climbing into a hot tub that's just the perfect temperature and always clean, even on a morning where it's brisk outside. I only let it get a little bit cloudy one time when I wasn't paying attention to the chemicals, and then I just added the chlorine and 24 hours later, it was crystal clear again.
The delivery went surprisingly well. COVID was just starting to take shape and the crew that delivered it was amazing. They did a fantastic job. The hookup was very simple, other than trying to get an electrician out here to do it because of COVID. But after making several calls, I found somebody who was able to come out and do it and it was relatively simple. The setup was very straightforward setup. I'm very happy that I've made the purchase. Anytime you guys come to town, I'd be happy to go and talk to your customers. It's a great product. I'm impressed with everything in it.

Buyer Beware! The traveling sales team is very shifty. They made promises that weren't kept, provided improper contracts and used all the techniques a bad used car salesman would use; our mistake was getting wrapped up in an emotional purchase. Our one-star rating is primarily based on the sales experience.
1.) Do not let them scribble numbers on a note pad, if you do, write your own and keep track of everything they say the numbers are for and take a picture of their "notes".
2.) Do not let them leave the table once settled on a price. For us, things were scratched off the contract that we missed at signing and additional tax was added on. $79 document fee is silly; you are paying your salesman to enter the information into a form.
3.) Do not let them convince you that things that come standard on the spa anyway, are add-ons, i.e. LED lights, exercise equipment, special filtration systems.
4.) Stay firm on your expectation for delivery; we received ours in the 4-6 timeframe, but we did some pushing to get that.
5.) Make them give you the name and number of the local company that does service work for them that is in your zip code. Our hot tub lights weren't working after we hooked up electricity and though Master Spas service guys on the phone were friendly and helpful, I struggled to figure out how to fix the issue. They gave me a name of a company that does do warranty work for Master Spas but once we reached them, found out we were out of their service area. I ended up fixing the problem myself but it took several tries to find the missing connection.
6.) Do not bother with the exercise equipment that comes with the unit. It is cheap and cumbersome and hardly useful. There are better after-market products out there. (Personally, I think Master Spa should include the tools to clean the spa. We've had to purchase a skimmer net for leaves, a suction device to get dirt and debris off the bottom, extra set of filters so one can be cleaned and dried and the other set in the unit.)
7.) The swim spa and tub have been nice. We enjoy them both, but I'm now worried reading the 1-star service problem reviews below. We've had them a month, have never owned a hot tub or spa before so there is lots to learn and be aware of going wrong.
8.) Our first choice swim spa was Original Endless Pool. It is quite a bit more expensive and there was much to do to have it built, insulated, etc. but it is a much better swim experience overall. We tested 5 different brands and the H2X Challenger 15D does have a good pump system creating the current without air, but one of us is nearly out-swimming it already and has to be tethered in. Given the decision over, we'd probably would have waited/saved up for the Endless Pool.
Hi Francie. Firstly, I'd like to thank you for the honest feedback. We always make sure to take feedback like yours into consideration as we continuously work to improve. I'm sorry that you didn't have the best experience with your salesperson, but unfortunately as we are only the manufacturer of the product and not the company that sold it to you there's not much that we can do on that end. Our products are sold through a network of independent retailers, so any issues with their sales practices would need to be taken up with the company that sold you the swim spa.
We're sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the provided exercise equipment. Here's a link to multiple exercise programs created by Dr. Rick McAvoy, who has specialized in Aquatic Fitness and Sports Performance for over 25 years, using the provided exercise equipment. You may find these programs helpful in finding new and effective ways to use the exercise equipment. (https://michaelphelpsswimspa.com/swim-spa-exercise)
I understand your worry in reading other negative reviews. Reading about issues that other customers have had, especially with such a large purchase, can be daunting. With that being said, we're also very proud of the fact that our 5 star reviews far out-number our 1 star reviews. Here on ConsumerAffairs, we have 93 reviews that give us 1 star rating - and while we wish that number was lower, we're also proud of the fact that we have over 400 reviews that are 5 stars. If you're looking for the negative, you can find it - but it's even easier to find countless happy customers who have had great experiences with their Master Spas products.
Lastly, we'd like to hear more about your experience swimming in the swim spa. It's not too often that someone is able to out-swim the current so easily that they need to be tethered in. When we do see this happen, it's often because people are swimming too close to the front of the spa or are accidentally diverting some of the water away from them without realizing it. I would recommend reaching out to Ben Gilliam. (You might know of him if you've ever tuned into our livestreams on Facebook). He'd be happy to talk to you about your current swim speed and abilities and how to get the best use out of your swim spa. You can email him at beng@masterspas.com.
Thank you again for your honest feedback. We appreciate it.

I purchased a Twilight Series, Master Spas hot tub. I like the features, the lighting and that it was made in the US. The installation team absolutely helped out as far as knowing what order to add the initial chemicals in. They also centered everything perfectly. The cost seemed reasonable too. It seemed like about what I was expecting to pay for a hot tub. They were helpful when I called up the local distributor for information about a certain part of the hot tub that I wasn't sure was for. I also like the ability to order chemicals and parts online. It makes it very reasonable. It comes very quickly from the warehouse. Good information is also available online, on YouTube, for setup. Also, the number of styles available to choose from and colors is also very impressive. The computer, the notifications on the display unit itself are very helpful to know when to do certain maintenance on it.

But Brian gave me as much attention as I wanted. He also backed off and let me have my own conversations. Now, using the tub, I have much less muscle tension and fewer headaches. There was a trim piece that was broken. But they were able to replace that. We're really happy that we found the spa and ended up getting it. They offer some of the biggest spas in the class. So we paid the entire amount up front and were anticipating receiving our spa within 4 to 6 week as promised. Ten weeks later and still no hot tub. Tried calling and emailing several contact names we were given. As I said in my summary, still no follow-through and no hot tub and of course, no call backs. Not sure if this is a scam or not, but my patience has worn out and I'm ready to pursue other actions if necessary. My recommendations - Buy locally where you have an actual person you can talk to.

The spa arrived filthy, dirty, without any protective material around the spa. The inside of the spa was washed out with our hose by the delivery guys. They left and we opened up the jets and they are full of dirt and gravel. The filters are moldy. The customer service person at the dealer told us it was normal and we should just fill and start the spa. My husband called back and now cannot get anyone to talk to him. We had the control panel replaced after it filled with water. It ran for about 10 months after that without problems and we loved it.
Just recently though, it stopped working for no apparent reason. It has power and there are no issues on our end, which the repair guy automatically assumed right upfront. It has now been sitting for two weeks while we wait for parts to basically rebuild it. We were planning to move the hot tub with us when we sell but we're now going to leave it with the home, it's just not worth the trouble. We purchased Master Spas' Twilight spa because of the size and the price. The price and the discount that was offered were pretty good and we decided to go for it. Afterward, we thought we should have investigated so before it got delivered, we went online and looked at the reviews and found nothing but good ones about it. The tub has really powerful jets and magnetic therapy. Also, it’s got the filtration system that kind of neutralizes the chlorine so there’s no smell in the water. There’s no residue. It’s got a fair amount of adjustability with the jets and they’re not either all on or all off. We can change which ones we want on and how strong they are. And I love that it has a 15-minute timer on it.
After using it one time, we were getting error codes on the display and had no idea what was wrong with it. So, we had to call the company we bought it from and wait four days for somebody to come out and fix it, which was a problem because the temperature had dropped. It was like 0 degrees and we had just had it filled, so we didn’t want it to freeze. There was a faulty pump that he was able to replace on the spot. So, we did receive a tub that had some problems with it just right out the gate. But other than that, we have not had any issues.
We called Master Spas when we needed to have something replaced and the fellow that called me back was great. He got back to me right away with an email, called me, and the part was delivered. Also, he alerted me that we hadn’t put our tub under warranty yet, which the seller didn’t tell us we needed to do. So, that was very helpful. Everything went really well, so we’re really happy with our interactions with Master Spas.

I told the first manufacturer that and the salesman there wanted to haggle and told me he was gonna give it to me for the same price as Master Spas if I went and canceled with them. I thought that was pretty shady. It was nice that Master Spas had quoted me a price that was decent. The guys that were there were really nice and helpful.
The installation of my spa was easy to schedule. Master Spas went around whatever time I had open and worked with me. They were very accommodating. Thus far, I like the zero gravity seats that my spa has. I also like that they threw in a bunch of extra stuff as well as the service they provide. I had an issue with the unit right after it was installed and they were there in less than 12 hours to fix it. I've been pretty happy with Master Spas thus far.

I have been looking to replace a spa, and Master Spas' product is a lot higher quality piece than what I've been looking at. It has a lot more options and the price was right. I wanted one recliner and I needed something smallish to fit in the area I needed to fit it. I also like the number of jets it has and the water softener was kind of a bonus. Plus, it has two-speed, double pumps. It's just a lot better unit than what I had for the past 15 years. The installation took about a week and a half, though. I had to push them a little. The salesman said one thing and the guys in Oklahoma said another. And I said, "No, you need to get it here." So, they got it here. Now, the only thing I need to do is order some filters here before too long. Other than that, I'm happy with it.

We were drawn to Master Spas with the design of their product - it's a dual lounger. We don’t really know other companies that make a dual lounger. Master Spas also seems to have a lot more modern features in terms of amount of pumps and lights. Our spa's installation went really easy, which took about an hour and half. They had the old one out and the new one in. And then, we had one small issue and their people came out the next day. They fixed it under warranty and everything has been good. Their customer service is great.

I was at a home show in Wilmington and the hot tub I saw there that I like was made by Master Spas. Then I also looked it up and I saw that they had a good reputation, so I went with them. Customer service and the installation process went very smoothly. We dealt with Crocker Company, which is the one that installed, and they did a great job. I’m very happy with the tub. The size of the tub as well as the lighting are great. I’m in New England so the heater keeps things running even in the coldest days. So, with the cover on, it’s fine. We use it every other day and we’re happy with it.

I researched and felt like Master Spas is the best. It was a 10-year process. I wore my wife down so bad that she finally said told me to buy the tub. There was a person who reached out to me by email and we emailed back and forth for a while. Then, I went to see the spa in person and bought the hot tub onsite at a warehouse. They don’t have a sales place. The hot tub has a lounger. It has a chair with jets for the shoulders, and it came with a lift and steps. I like the tub and I’ve used it every day for relaxation. I'm still very new so, I'm just hoping that the quality is as good as I’m anticipating it’s going to be over time.
We're so happy to hear that you've been getting so much use out of your hot tub, Dan! Thank you for the kind feedback - we appreciate it!

I like Master Spas' quality. I like the lighting kit and the dual pumps, and it's made in America. The dealer, on the other hand, I would go somewhere else. We were promised between six to eight weeks but it ended up being almost 16 weeks. If I were to buy another one, I would go to the people that installed it. They were excellent. They called about an hour before they showed up so I could get home, and aside from their knowledge, I also like the amount of time it took them to install it. People won’t be disappointed with Master Spas.

I like the looks of the Master Spas swim spa as well as its jets and the leg massage feature. I like how the jets are organized in it. It was also a good size for me. Previously, I had a two-person model and it was like a bathtub. It was laughable if I sit in it. The new one I got has three pumps and took a five-year guarantee on it. However, it would be nice if the spa has an alarm for when I don't use it for two, three or four days which would tell me if the heating fails. That doesn't cost much and it would be a convenience that nobody else has.

I found Master Spas at The Big E when I happened to be walking around and checking all the different hot tub tents. I do sales for a living and I sell roofing, siding, and windows. Master Spa uses the same finance company that I use for work. The other spa places also used the same thing, but a lot of the sales guys didn't know what they were talking about. One guy was like drunk talking to me and he said, "Yeah, you can tell me about financing." So I told him, "I'm not gonna go with you because you don't know what you're talking about." Then, I went to Master Spa and bought from them because of their sales guy. We had to walk in and the guy was really cool. He even had the same name as me. The way he did his sales was like me too. I had to buy it from him 'cause he was the one that sold the whole thing, knew what he was talking about about everything, and was really laid-back.
I like that the spa has the lights on it and I like the eco filter, the way that I could change out all the jets. The sales guy went through a whole bunch of stuff showing us all the different stuff about it and I liked everything that he showed me. It was different than some of the other stuff I seen, and it is the perfect size 'cause I needed a certain size which they had. So, because they had exactly what I was looking for and the guy knew exactly what he was talking about, the whole experience was made 10 times easier.
The guys who did the delivery were awesome. They had to take out my old hot tub and it was a pain as the thing is heavy. They had to come over around the back and had to do a lot of work. I was surprised. I told them, "I hope you guys are getting paid a lot of money," 'cause they were tired. I haven't had a bad thing happen yet except for one of the fuses was blown in the hot tub when I got it. I had to drive around and find another fuse to put in there. My brother-in-law is an electrician, so he knew what he was doing. He just told me what to get, I grabbed it, and he put it in. So, the whole experience was good. They also have a video for every process with the hot tub too that I can just look up online, so it's simple.

Purchased hot tub in 2015. Just recently noticed small service cracks in the shell. These cracks are a long the top lip that doesn't have direct contact with water. Rest of the spa shell is fine. This makes me believe that heat caused this cracks. I called dealer that I bought hot tube through and they informed that Master Spa will not consider warranty unless 1. show proof that I used their chemicals in spa. 2. That I show proof that I had monthly water checks done by dealer. Nothing in their warranty states either of this things. I used Leisure time chemicals and have proof of that. As far as water checks. I checked water twice a week and followed all instructions needed to fix any irregular water issues. If I can't get Master Spa to cover this I'm out almost $10,000 dollars. Beware buyer.

There was a warehouse sale that happened in the market. I had done research on Master Spas previously, so I went to the showroom. The salespeople were extraordinarily knowledgeable about every single unit. They answered any questions that I had. They talked specifically a lot about the warranty and the maintenance on the unit itself. I also used one of their financing programs which was a real breeze. The whole experience was wonderful. I spoke with the sales rep for about an hour. Delivery date was set and then they called me because they were able to deliver earlier which was even more enticing and more fun for me.
I go a Twilight 7.2. One of the features that I really like is it has a digital touchscreen control panel. It also has service reminders, maintenance reminders, and remote access from a smartphone. It tells me when to change water, when to add chemicals, and when to clean the filters. I've been very happy, but I'll get a bigger model next time. But being a first-time hot tub owner, I thought that the six-person unit that I got would be sufficient. It's very efficient to run. The maintenance is virtually minimal. You don't have to think about it. Hydrotherapy is great. Relaxation is really great. Everything is wonderful.

I was impressed with the level of therapeutic spas that Master Spas had available. And the ones that we had been looking at had some things to it, but Master Spas combined everything with the jets and the way they were assembled and the quality that they had in it. My Master Spas worked great, and I'm more impressed now that I've used it than what it was. I have a lower back problem. I was in law enforcement and was shot and I have a low back disc problem. And the therapeutic part of it helps a lot. It’s really a lifesaver. It’s awesome when it comes to the therapy part. The sit-down seat and the lounger both work really well. In addition to that, I've had other spas many years ago, and they were always a little bit to the upkeep. And my Master Spas has some features on it like the ozone and this other part that’s on that, and it really has made the chemical treatment super easy. The maintenance is really a breeze.
Making the purchase was excellent. We ended up going to a show in our local area in Huntsville, Alabama. And at that show, I was thinking there was going to be multiple spas there, so we were just gonna kinda walk through to compare. I was about 90% sure I was gonna go with a local vendor on a different manufacturer, and I’d looked at it pretty thoroughly. But once I got there, there weren’t numerous spas, but this Master Spas was there. And the person gave me the whole rundown on what it was, and she was very thorough with the explanation. Her interview worked really good, too, because she asked what our needs were. So, she wasn’t just trying to plug in something she wanted. She found out what the most important features were for us. Her knowledge was really impeccable.
The installation went very well. As a matter of fact, we got there from the last day which afforded us two things. Number one, I didn’t expect to get the delivery that day. I figured they’d do another day or two, or even the following week. And to my surprise, they scheduled me in that day. It was a few hours outside of the purchase. Unfortunately, they were backed up and they didn’t make that time, which I'm not surprised because they had sold so many of the spas. But the delivery people had called me and gave me a heads-up early on that they would make the delivery that night, and they gave me the option whether I wanted them to just come out the next day. And I said, “Well, if you guys can do it this night, that’d be fine.” They did meet me back at house, and sure enough, they delivered it that evening.
I would highly recommend Master Spas. We had a follow-up after the spa was delivered. The spa is everything we thought and then some. But then one of the jets on the lounger wasn’t functioning. And I did everything I could to make sure that I wasn’t messing something up or why one of the jets wasn’t working. I made a single phone call, and the following day, they were coming out.
Unfortunately, we were out of town and they called and asked, “Hey, can they come and look at this.” I said, “Well, sure. It’s in the backyard. Just feel free to go back there, and no problem.” They showed up even though it was an inclement weather. The problem turned out to be a kinked hose. They repaired it that day, and they followed up with a phone call to me while we were out of town and asked if there was anything else they could do. They even called back twice to make sure everything was functioning after we returned to get in there. So, the warranty thing was top of the line. I'm very comfortable with dealing with the local company directly.

We went to one of those expo fair sales, and compared to the others we were looking at, Master Spas' price was reasonable. We also researched online and it turned out that it’s a good quality company with a good quality product. So we opted to go that route. We had a little smaller tub before, and the tub from Master Spas was a much better size. Everything was designed underneath, so it seems to be much better insulated compared to the one I had. I also like the quality of the tub itself, and the layers that they use for durability. The jet features are quite good and more therapeutic than the other spa. But the spa jets are designed for a little bit larger people. My wife is 5’1” and 105, and the jets tend to miss her because of that. That’s the only issue I have with the tub. But my wife is learning to accommodate it.
When I was making the purchase, it sounded a little like going to a car dealership. You get one guy out that comes out with a price and then he comes back with a price that’s almost half. And then, he has his guy come out and give you a little more of a discount. So I felt like I was dealing with a car dealership. But other than that, it went okay. We then wrote a check. It was pretty straightforward. Sometimes with these events they’ll do a no-interest for a period of time, and I thought that I had seen that and I inquired about that. They said no and that it had to be cash or credit card. I don’t know if there was a little misinformation, but it worked out fine.
The installation was quite smooth. The only thing that was a little of a surprise to me was when they delivered, they didn’t set up the stairs that came with the tub. They left the packaging for the hot tub cover and all the plastic wrap. This tub was fully-wrapped and sealed, and they left all of that because they couldn’t take it. And that was pretty bulky stuff. It’s not stuff you can throw in your recycling and your garbage very easily. Also, when they tipped it, they scraped one corner. So I ended up having to order another piece which I had to install myself. I got a little bit of a runaround on that. The lights worked when we hooked up the tub, but then they quit working. Apparently, they weren’t connected properly, so I ended up fixing that as well. So there were a couple of little quirks right from the beginning. But from that point forward, the tub has been perfect.

But this guy came right up to me. I was there three times. But the third time, I went back, told him I was interested and ended up buying it. The service is real good, as far as the Lima store. They came out and installed it. I just stepped back and pretty much did nothing. They were real good at that.
My Master Spa tub has been great, except for me trying to keep the water balanced. It got cloudy on me. It's hard to read the pH strips. I searched it and it's like, "Oh, your pH is probably a little high," so I'd lower it, and clean my filter and put some clarifier in it. I shocked it again and it was still cloudy. So then the guys that put it in for me said it's easier to have a sump pump instead of taking the side panel off to drain it. So I bought a sump pump, and pumped it all out and started over. It's crystal clear for like a week.

But this tub had the three-amp circulating motor which keeps the heat going very quietly. It was definitely an economical purchase compared to some of the other spas. The quality seems there, and the mechanicals of it are superior. The sales team that was at the beginning were phenomenal and very helpful and made delivery very easy for us. When we got the spa, it had a small poke hole in the cover. I reported it and it was a very pleasant experience. But it still had all the features of the big one with the lounger. I got bad feet, and the Master Blasters are awesome. It’s in the middle of the tub and it shoots two feet above the top of the tub on full. They’re quite impressive. You have to take the front off to replace the water, but most tubs have a stick it out on the outside. And that would be nice, because taking the front off is kind of a pain.
I called them to have somebody out and told them I was pretty sure what the problem is. They believed me, and the guy showed up with the part. I would give the spa an average rating. If I could do it all over again I would probably choose a different brand to be honest, but I have it now and it does the job just fine. First off the price. After taxes, so called discounts that everyone qualifies for, and no paid for extras, the total came out to about $9600 on my debit card. I think the price was higher if I financed, but he said I got the cash price. I'm fairly sure the guy next to me paid the same thing though to finance it, so I'm not sure. It's not a terrible price, as I wasn't looking for a ton of features. I didn't need a radio or some exotic butt scrubber.
The tub came fairly quickly, within a few days. The delivery team was very nice and did a good job. There was probably 6-7 scratches and markings that didn't come off, but the majority of them were all on one side. I just turned that side to where no one would see it. They don't take trash though, so beware you will be left with 1 big ** pallet to dispose of. It's like 9' x 4'. My trash company wouldn't take it. The hot tub was easy to hook up and heated up much faster than I expected.
Unfortunately after 2 days the tub quit working and the panel wouldn't turn on. I called Master Spa and they had a hot tub company come fix it within a week. I was actually fairly impressed with them. The hot tub fixing company asked me why I would ever buy a Master Spa though. Some of my concerns were verified now that I knew the company Master Spa hires to fix my Master Spa was not big fans of Master Spa. It is now over a month later and I do really enjoy this spa. The reason I'm giving this 3 stars are for the following reasons. The salesman told me I barely needed chemicals, it was super quiet, the jets are the strongest out of any spa this size
Cons:1. The salesman promised these things that were stretching the truth by a long shot.
2. I was told I only needed to add chemicals at most once a month. This thing needs them almost every day according to the manual. At minimum once per week. I wish I spend a bit more and got a brand with a saltwater system.
3. The tub is kinda loud. Louder than others I sat in. There are also manual valves that change jets, two of them hiss. I also don't think a tub in this price point should have to have the jets manually turned from one seat to another.
4. The jets aren't very strong. They are average at best, and when you have multiple seats going at once, the jets aren't strong at all.
5. I'm a bit worried how long it will last. It broke in two days, will it last 10 years? The warranty by the way only pays the repair man to drive 15 miles. After that you pay mileage fees.
Pros:1. It is a very large tub. 8x8 and gets my family of 2 adults and 2 kids well. We had 4 kids and 2 adults a week ago and it was fine.
2. The water heats quickly and stays hot reasonably well.
3. The tub looks sharp and the lights and waterfalls look cool.
4. The longer is really nice to sit in for someone that is 6'4. 240 I usually don't fit in many places well.
5. The cover is thick and seems well built.
There are radio add ons as well as other add ons, but for 10k you won't get any of that. The tub really isn't bad, and the instructional videos are far better than most any product I've bought. This tub is probably great for most people.

Updated on 11/06/2019: For some reason I can respond directly to Master Spas in a message but it won't post those comments on the initial review. As I stated in my previous review, the issues with my swim spa are due to a manufacturing defect that, as I'm told, are ongoing with ALL of the other models of this particular swim spa. The exterior cabinet panels warp and bow out and no matter how many times they come out to repair them/replace them, within a DAY the panels have once again warped and exposed the interior guts. Putting a band-aid on this issue is not going to resolve it, there needs to be a permanent solution, i.e. switching out all the panels for something more durable.
I was offered the above solution by Aqua Spas and was informed that Master Spas agreed to send out the necessary panels to do so, however they weren’t going to go out of their way to accommodate an upset customer, oh no. Since they missed the truck with the regular shipment to Aqua Spas, the rep there requested they send the pieces Fedex so they would arrive sooner and not leave the inner workings of my spa exposed to the elements. Master Spas flat refused and decided to wait until the next truck, which is two weeks out!
I am flabbergasted at the audacity of these people!! So now I am waiting another two weeks with the guts of my swim spa hanging out, just so they can save a few bucks on shipping! When I was informed that was the case, I let Aqua spas rep know that they will probably be replacing the control panels, once again, because of exposure to the elements. She responded that she understood and would be making a note of it. So, to say the least, I am not impressed with the customer service at Master Spas, all bluster and no actual recompense.
Original Review: My name is Kodi ** and in April of 2019 I received a Michael Phelps Master Spas from Aqua Spas. Having been excited to finally receive my swim spa, I was disappointed to discover several issues from the beginning. I am only posting this out of complete and utter frustration and want to warn everyone about the way I have been made to feel like a nuisance/inconvenience rather than a customer with issues needing resolved. It should have been red flag that something that required at least a team of two men to deliver ended up with only one.
Once our pool/spa had completely filled, I was surprised to discover that one of the jets was detached and floating around on the spa side. It was later explained to me the jets were removable, something that should have been explained during installation. I would like to say that my experience with Aqua Spas and Master Spas has improved since then, but it has only deteriorated further.
After numerous calls regarding missing speakers, to needing the Bluetooth receiver as well as a control panel replaced (many times with the technicians arriving without the proper replacement parts for my particular spa!), it was finally in working order, only for the exterior to start completely falling apart. Within the first three months, the soft tread padding that was installed on the pool side has started to curl up, and all the panels on the exterior have begun to warp and bow. Because the exterior panels are still warping after being replaced, moisture has managed to get into the interior cabinet, and I believe that that is why the control panel on the hot tub side is currently not working!
I have been informed that Master Spas has repeatedly sent the wrong parts needed to repair my swim spa, which has equated to several weeks--adding up to MONTHS--worth of delays. If that wasn’t enough, the communication breakdown on the part of Aqua Spas has been worse than anything I have ever experienced, and I have Comcast. I was informed after my initial three months was up that I would need to pay for service calls; having had previous experience with the communication issue, I was reluctant to pay, however I did so in order to get the issue resolved quickly. To the credit of the customer service department, I have not paid for a service call since, being that there has been mistake after mistake on their behalf. I have been dealing with these issues literally since its delivery in April of this year.
Today, October 28, 2019, there are at least three panels already bowing out and the control panel for the hot tub has malfunctioned so I can’t even set the filtration cycle to clean it. To have an item this costly, have this many issues and looking this awful, in our yard, is simply unacceptable. I have had numerous friends and associates inquire about and express interest in a spa pool like ours, however after the experiences to date and the huge number of problems we have had, I could not imagine recommending to anyone that they buy a Master Spa product, Michael Phelps Swim Spa, or anything else, from Aqua Spas.At this point I feel VERY strongly that the only thing of interest to Aqua Spas was making the sale, and nothing else.
Nothing this company has done since has led me to believe that keeping a happy, satisfied customer, who will speak well of your company, continue doing business with you, and recommend your products and services to friends and associates, is anywhere among their priorities. I’d like to be persuaded that I am wrong. At this point, however, mere words will do nothing to accomplish this, only actions. I sent all of the above in an email to the customer service department of Aqua Spas and Master Spas over two weeks ago and received nothing in response, which only further solidifies my low opinion of both. At this point I am so completely fed up that I just want the swim spa removed from my yard and my money refunded. TLDR: If you want anxiety, a whole lot of headaches and zero communication from anyone in the organization, by all means, give these people your money.
Hi Kodi. Thanks for reaching out, we're sorry to hear that you've been unhappy with your experiences so far. I talked to our corporate Customer Service Supervisor about this situation and he did inform me that he has talked to Aqua Spas and that they have been working to resolve these issues for you. We got the TS 8.0 as our first hot tub and it's very good. Other than the standard features, it has the circulating pump and the lighting that we bought extra. The tub is of good value in terms of the features, benefits and price. The team was great as well. There were a couple of little glitches when we first got the hot tub, and they were handled expediently. We're very happy.
Thanks for the feedback, Christen! We're happy to hear that you've been enjoying your new hot tub.

We bought a spa at a hot tub show. We went to the vendor Paradise Spas in Cedar Park, Texas and changed our order to order a spa. About a week later then received a call from the delivery company that our spa would be delivered immediately from one in stock. It's delivered and is a disaster. Doesn't even have a Master Spa panel. We contacted the vendor and Master Spas. That was over a month ago. Still sitting in backyard and still getting run around from factory and vendor. Buyer beware!!

We went to a spa show in Salt Lake and purchased an Enterprise spa. Was told we did not need all the chemicals - what a lie. The filter that we were shown is not what came with the spa. The spa was to be delivered the following week and that we needed to wait until delivery to have the electrical run. No delivery that first week so we rescheduled the electrical. Midweek of the following week we got a call wanting to deliver the first of the next week. Reschedule electrical again. Next week went by with no contact. Numerous calls made to find out what happened with no response from Master Spa. Finally the saleswoman called me back as she had provided her phone number at the time of sale.
The delivery man finally contacted me wanting to know where we were located. I told him and his response - "I thought I did all the deliveries in your area. Your paperwork must have gotten attached to someone else’s." Would he not wonder why he still had the tub? He finally dropped off the tub the next week. We now had to wait another week and a half for the electrical. Finally after many weeks I put water in for the first time. Went out an hour later and noticed water pouring out of the tub. Took pictures of the water level and turned off the water. Went back out exactly one hour later and the water level was half what it was. Spent all day leaving messages for customer service with no response.
Finally got a hold of a live person who answers all incoming calls. He wanted to transfer me again to service which I refused and asked to speak to the president. This gentleman finally listened to my complaints and provided me his number so I could send the photos and video I had taken of the issue. Waited another week to hear from a service person who came out and discovered a huge slice in one of the hoses that occurred during the manufacture of the spa as he had to cut away the insulating foam to find the issue. He spliced the hose and scheduled an appointment to come back one week later to install the foam. The day he was to come out he called to reschedule to the following week. Does time mean nothing to this company?
My husband and finally called and spoke with someone from the company who told him to have the repair man replace the entire hose before installing the insulation. I sent the message to the repairman but he stated that he did replace the hose. He did not. He simply cut out the bad piece and spliced it. We bought and were charged for a new tub but what we received was a damaged tub and no one wants to make it right. Take my advice and stay away from Master Spas.

Well, we bought the spa. They installed it and left. No instructions, no waiting to have the water tanker fill it up and test it. Just dropped it off and left. It hasn't been a year since we installed it and the spa is falling apart. The screws and metal parts RUST? How is it that they put metal parts that rust in a Swimming Spa? When I told my distributor, Aqua Spas, they said they'd look into it. I received an email from them forwarding an email from Master Spas saying to just clean it up. "Grab a towel with fresh water and clean the rust off". The rust is not going away.
Then, the stickers at the bottom of the spa that help a swimmer stay on center, popped off. When I told them about that they said... "Oh, the water has too much Chlorine"... problem is, NO IT DOESN'T. At least not by the measure of the testing strips they have us use. I've had to replace two diverters already because when you turn on the jets, their quality is so bad, they break, shooting them up many feet in the air. If someone would have been close to the explosion, we would be suing for sure. When I brought up my complaints all I got was "clean it with a rag, there's nothing else we can do for you". Not even a year old. So, there it is. If you buy something from them and have this same experience, don't say you weren't warned.
Hi Carlos. We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been unhappy with your experience so far. While we understand your frustration, we also know that two of your complaints (rusting components & the deteriorating sticker) are typically only seen when there is some sort of chemical imbalance or chemical abuse which is why we advised you to check your chemical balance upon hearing the issues with your swim spa. We would also advise referring to page 30 of your owner’s manual for the proper care techniques and maintenance procedures for the stainless steel components in your swim spa. As for the faulty diverters, our supplier for those parts issued a recall on them and as soon as we were notified we offered free replacements to our customers that were affected. Our customer care team will be reaching out to your dealer soon so they can follow-up on these issues with you. We’ll also be sending you a replacement floor sticker. Should you need further assistance please reach out to your dealer, Aqua Spas, or call our corporate Customer Care team at (800) 860-7727.

Less than a month, the equipment failed, since it was defective. Master Spas became very defensive and denied any wrongdoing, not willing to reimburse me for the defective equipment and not responsible for their only dealer in Calgary, continuously stating that's between myself and the dealer. Do yourself a favour and never buy their product to avoid being scammed by their dealers, and ruin your saving on defective products they sell without accountability if they don't work.

Our Master Spas Challenger 15D was purchased at a spa pool and BBQ show at the Pomona fairgrounds on July 14, 2019. We were concerned about an out of town entity providing service in the event of a warranty issue, and were reassured by salesman Tim ** that there were plenty of available service people in southern California and that any problems that came up would be taken care of, that Master Spas was a reputable company, etc., etc. They also said Master Spas representatives would be onsite during the delivery to make sure that everything went ok.
Our spa was delivered on September 18. Master Spas organized the crane for us to put it in the backyard, and that went fine. Two men were there from Master Spas, but all they did was make sure the spa was in the right place on the slab and assemble the plastic staircase that provides entry to the spa. Then they were gone and we were on our own.
The swim spa never worked. It turned on, but before we could use it, 2 of the 3 pumps didn't work, the swims spa function doesn't work and none of the spa functions, jets and bubbles worked. It has been a month, and one repair person has looked at it. His thought was that the computer needs to be replaced, but the bottom line is that we have had an expensive swimspa for over a month, and no one seems to have any urgency about fixing it. The people we purchased it from told us in so many words that it wasn't their problem, and the factory customer service rep is very pleasant, but so far, nothing is happening. It appears they contract repairs with independent spa repairmen who aren't terribly interested. I will amend this review as the events unfold.

Austin was helpful, answered all our questions, and had the paperwork done promptly. We were in and out of there in less than an hour. Our experience with Master Spas was pleasant, courteous, quick and to the point. Plus the spa is US made in Fort Wayne Indiana. Looking forward to our spa delivery.

Terrible sales tactics and no returns. Went to a blow out event in Ancaster Ontario Canada and spoke with a sales rep (from Master Spas) not a local dealer who we have since found out either had no idea what he was talking about or intentionally lied. Told us.. 10 year warranty on shell and 2 years all parts labour. Found out later it's 5 and 1 year. Only need to change water 1 time a year. Found out it's 2 times a year at minimum. No chemicals needed and no smell due to "patent pending" filter. Found out needs all the regular chemicals any other tub does and does have the strong smell, also cannot switch it to bromine for no smell as their filter is not compatible with it.
Did not tell us it does not provide heat when in high speed with jets on. So it cools down about 10 degrees an hour and it's not even winter yet. Built pad to size in flyer yet when tub came it is smaller than what's listed so now I have an odd sized pad. No support for pad requirements. (Speak to a landscaper) was their answer. Was not told there was a setup fee for financing. So charged me $100 I was unaware of. Told by company (master spa) it would heat on high if converted to 220 then told by different rep it won't. Sent an email to master spas and they were not supportive at all. Answered a few things but no reply to my concerns. Horrible sales tactics. No returns. No satisfaction guarantee. Useless customer service department. No support from local retailer. Basically have a paper weight in my backyard.

We went to an expo at the NRG Stadium a couple of years prior to buying from Master Spas and we were in the process of buying a hot tub but some medical issues came up and we had to divert the money somewhere else. The company that we bought from didn’t wanna refund us our money so we wrote it off as a loss and a lesson learned. The same company was down here in our hometown and my wife went up and talked to the Master Spa rep that was there. He looked it up and saw that the money was still on the books. So, he applied that to the price that we had already been quoted. They gave us credit for it and we went ahead and purchased our Master Spa. It worked out great. Master Spas came out to the Forth Worth Convention Center and they put on an expo. We went out to the expo and Maurice was there. He is quite a salesman and convinced us that the Master Spas was probably equal to or better than most other spas out here. And I agreed. The construction, the ability to choose what you want, and the price all work into the equation. We got a six-person spa and it has the lounger and the waterfall. It’s absolutely gorgeous. We chose the interior color, the exterior color and the siding colors. We chose the lights that we wanted on the spa and the cupholders. We had hoped to get the Elite but we didn’t have the money. We paid cash for it so we were only gonna buy what we could pay cash for.
They came out and did this onsite preview saying I gotta have an electrician come out and put in $1,075 worth of wiring so they could get the spa to where I wanted it on the patio. They said they were gonna put down some kind of a pad, but instead they built a foundation for it out of 1x4s. And it’s perfectly fine. They said the EZ Pad is not gonna be very effective for where I needed it to go. The installation went really smoothly. The electrical charges are a little bit higher than what I was anticipating, but not much. We got the one that has the aerator that keeps your chemicals that you have to put into the water less. That makes the electric bill a little bit more where it turns on a little more often than some of the others.
I’ve already recommended Master Spas and friends have already purchased a Master Spas based on my experience. When we were gonna purchase the spa, we had spoken with Maurice about one of those lift kits that go on the spa. He said, “I’ll just throw it in there with it.” I failed to read over the contract and I failed to see that it was not included. Since it was not included, the delivery people did not bring it out. They said for an extra $300, they could bring it out. I told them that was not what I agreed to. I called the owner of Master Spas and he said, “Well, if Maurice said that we’re gonna include it, then we’re gonna include it.” He had the guys that installed the hot tub come back out and add a lift kit. So, even though I failed to look and observe that the contract wasn’t as complete as what we originally thought we were purchasing, he honored our verbal contract. There are a lot of people that would not do that.
Master Spas is top-of-the-line. When people are being negative on saying, “Hey, they don’t get out there, they don’t deliver on time, they don’t do this, they don’t do that,” our spa was delivered exactly when we were promised that it would be delivered. They weren’t late. So, all these people that are giving all these negative reviews, they’re not being fair to Master Spas one bit.

We had an 8 foot x 8 foot Master Spas that started leaking, and it was gonna cost too much to repair it. Instead, we went to a spa show and the reps were great. We saw a triangular spa that had LED lighting, which our old one didn’t have. It also took up less space, but it was a little pricey. It was 2,000 less than our 8x8 when we bought that one in a spa show. Still, we made a down payment and Master Spas held it and told us that we couldn’t get our money back. We had to either finish paying the hot tub off or lose the money. We put it on layaway and it took us two years to get a whole new spa. Now, the spa is in a little corner of my patio. It's very nice and you can fit two or three people in it. It’s just my wife and I. I like the control pad on it too. All in all, we like the spa.

When I asked about filling the tub with well water or if we should use our soft water, they said the well water would be fine. But I wish we would’ve used the soft water because we did have some problems after filling it initially. But I applaud the filtering system that they have because it did end up filtering out quite a bit of it, and we haven’t had any problem since. I’m pretty happy about the cost, and we like the quality of the tub. It cleans the water itself fine, but if there’s sediment in it, it doesn’t completely get that out. Master Spas had an event at the fairgrounds by us and we went there. It was a scratch and dent sale and we really liked their Healthy Living hot tub, so we purchased it. The sales team did very well and so did the delivery team. We bought it on Saturday afternoon and they delivered it on Sunday morning. They also took our old one away, which was a big deal for us. But when they shipped the tub over to the house, they put the strap across one of the knobs that you turn and it cracked it. It wasn't a big deal though. I just called up then they sent it right to me and I installed it.
The tub has two loungers and we ended up getting a good deal on it. They offered $500 off right off the top then it was marked down because it had a blemish on it, which didn't matter to us. We've already owned a tub before, so it wasn't anything to us. But this one is better built than the one we had before. I also like the fact that Master Spas use composite instead of real wood on the outside. To me, it's concealed in better.
Other than that, I installed the tub myself and it was easy to install. I already have the electric and everything ran because the old tub was there, so during the installation of the new one, it took me about half an hour to re-run the electric. Then, we filled it and ran it. I also temporarily fixed the leaking thing and we used it. So far, my wife is happy with it and we like it a lot. It's a really good unit. I like the way it's built and the accessibility of everything. It's everything they said it was. I like the fact they're out of Fort Wayne, too. That makes it a lot easier for us.

Updated on 08/13/2019: To date Master Spas has not responded with a solution directly. They have however responded, apparently, to the rep in Houston, TX with the following: "It has run out of warranty. It is past the 2 year warranty that we provide for the cover. Whenever we replace something it does not reset the warranty of that product. The product continues to carry the warranty of the original product. If the customer purchases a new cover, they would also be purchasing a new warranty with it."
Hello Master Spas. I GET THAT. But you apparently did not read my review and you don't get that the cover you sent to replace the warranty cover, is defective. After one year it is tearing and this should not be happening with a "new" cover. What I was given as a replacement is garbage. The lack of response is garbage. To not respond on this website is garbage and again Master Spas has hit an all time low in customer service. You should at least acknowledge that your product used for replacement is defective. Unbelievable! Buyer beware!
Original Review: Purchased H2X spa in 7/10/2016 for therapy with severe back issues. Within two years the cover started ripping in spite of taking care not to use the handles solely for lifting, along with babying it and having a sail shade cover. Luckily we were able to just get in on the warranty last year, 2018. Now 8/5/2019 the "new" cover, just over one year old has a 4" opening on the INSIDE, where we don't even touch it. It is along the seam and it is plain that this rippage is due to it simply not being sewn properly. Now, we have contacted our rep in Spring, TX, who did contact Master spas, but Master Spas will no longer cover as we are out of the two year warranty period.
All I can say is buyer beware with Master Spas. We've had to have numerous repairs on our H2X not to mention the incredible fiasco we went through at delivery. The warranty is good, but only good if proper parts and equipment are used upon repair. Covers are over $1k for this spa and for Master Spas to not handle this issue is a very sad shame. Also, at this writing, the second ozone lite is malfunctioning....the first was replaced last year. Once again we're out of warranty for repair and the repair cost is $566.54 for labor and materials. WOW! And did I mention that a pump had to be replaced a few weeks ago due to leakage....that's the second motor replacement.
Hi Jeanette. Thanks for the honest feedback. Our customer care team here at corporate is aware of the issues mentioned and have been in contact with TX Spa Services to see what we can do to help get these issues resolved.

Twilight 7.2 fit what we were looking for in terms of seating arrangement and jets. It was a display model at the dealership from which we bought it, so we didn't have to pay any extra shipping. We just looked at it and said that was the one we wanted. We’ve had it for about three and a half months and we’re in it probably every day. I went to the dealership today and bought some additional chemicals to maintain it, so we're thoroughly enjoying it. The product is great. He said that at the shop, they get over-torqued and so, when you turn on your hot tub or lean against it, it cracks them. I just changed that thing out and my jets went up.
At first, Aqua Spa wasn’t great till I got a hold of the guy I needed, and they’ve been awesome. The hot tub wasn’t cheap but I like it and I hope it lasts for a long time. It has been very hot outside and my kids love it. My son has had a few hot tub parties and friends over. I’ve only gotten in it three times, but it has been very nice and relaxing. It’s gonna come in handy this winter.

We picked Master Spas as a manufacturer because we got a sense that all the parts were American-made and they were reputable components in the building of it. Secondly, we found out about it and I started calling some of the people. The lady and I got involved with one of their dealers in Minnesota and they told me that they had a show in San Diego. They're headquartered in Minnesota and we're in Southern California. My wife and I were in the process of considering the best spa solution and we went to the show, looked at the various models and decided that, based upon the size of our family and how we usually entertain, the one in the showroom was the most attractive.
One of the features that attracted us to the Twilight 76.5 was not only its size but that it didn’t have a bench. A lot of these have these lounge chair benches and that was a waste of space. We don’t usually lounge. We sit upright. The lounge just reduces the capacity. So rather than buy a six-person capacity with a lounge, we were better off with a five-person capacity with no lounge.
I'm still floundering around with when to clean it. But they also steered me to a guy to do an annual maintenance thing. He came out once and then that was it. He doesn’t return my calls anymore. This guy comes from a long way though. It's an all-day drive for him to get here and that’s probably why. So the local support is not very good. That would probably be the only deficiency. But the quality of the product itself is good and I would recommend it to somebody.

I haven't had the swim spa long enough to rate it but just want to express my frustration and dissatisfaction with all the staff I've dealt with from sales to service. First of all I was told that the cost to deliver the spa was included. When the moving guy called he said it wasn't. I called the salesman who sold me the unit and said that it wasn't. When the delivery guy showed he didn't have the equipment to pull in and drop the spa down so he rolled it in on PVC pipes which scratched up bottom of the unit. I called Master Spas and they said I would have to take that up with the mover, that they were independent. When we finally set it up and got it going there were some parts that were broken on the unit.
When I called to get them replaced I got the same shotty attitude like it was my fault and it's been a week since I emailed a photo of the items broken. In addition, as of today I still haven't received my steps so I called them and was told they were not included because the salesperson didn't mark it. Again, I called the same salesman and he said, "oh I figured you were building a deck or something and didn't need it." I said, "No, but even if I did you told me they were included." So I should be getting those next week. I can go on about the terrible attitudes but will do no good. Just make sure if you buy one that everything is written on the contract. Don't take their word for it! I videotaped the move but unfortunately this doesn't allow video upload.
Hi Yvette. Thank you for the honest feedback. As you mentioned in your review, the company that sold & delivered your swim spa are a separate company, so there's not much we can do on our end for that issue. Short Story, our son is a 100% disabled Veteran. We used our savings to purchase this unit for him to the tune of over twenty two thousand dollars. Now almost 4 months later the heater element went out.... Now this weekend the pump motor went out. I feel the Quality of this unit is far from what one should expect from a $22000.00. The dealer claims it's normal for this to happen due to heat/humidity and moisture here in Florida // call me crazy but our air conditioning system that runs continuously still is functioning with its 5 year motor exposed to rain / heat and humidity. At this point I feel the manufacturer is more interested in dollars and cents than CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!!

I like the quality of Master Spas. I purchased the Clarity and the size of it was the exact, same size of the one I had, and I liked that because they had to fit it into a special opening. And the price was better than others. It was a fair price for the excellent quality you get. My hot tub is calming and relaxing. I get in it on an average of one to two times a week and sometimes more. As far as my interaction with the Master Spas team, it was very good. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Also, my experience with the delivery was very good. They had to put it under a gazebo and the guys did a great job, especially they had to go uphill, too.

My Master Spas is great. It does more than we thought it would do. It has five pumps, it seats seven to eight people and it has a lot of jets. It’s a lot more than normal. There’s a waterfall feature, and there’s lighting and you can change the lighting. It’s got lighting on the outside as well. And also, our tub has a cartridge that slides into the filter which has copper and zinc in it. Instead of having to use so much chlorine, it naturally kills bacteria. We use the tub two to three nights a week now in the summer, but in the winter or in the cooler months, we use it more. It has a whirlpool effect in one of the seats, and I have a back issue where I've had a broken back and it’s really nice to get in and relax around that. It eases my back muscles.
I decided to work with Master Spas mainly because of the salesperson that we dealt with. She was knowledgeable and amazing to work with. We spent about double what we had planned to spend. We liked the fact that it had so many jets. Their reputation seemed good, too. They’re one of the oldest spa makers in the country and I think one of the original spa makers. We love their product, but we’ve got some issues right now and I’m not as happy with the service.

Master Spas' Twilight Series had the strong, six horse power jets, and it’s a little bit smaller size through the area I had to put it. We had shopped a few dealers in town, and Aqua Spas was willing to give us a really good deal on a floor model and they were decent guys. But we had a little bit of issue with the delivery of the spa. Our corner piano got busted, and I’ve had an appointment scheduled but haven’t been able to get it fixed yet. Other than that, the delivery went pretty smooth. When I had a problem with the foot blaster jet, Aqua Spas gave me a replacement part and replaced it since it was still under warranty. We really like our spa. I use it nearly daily.

I used to have a kind of discomfort in my muscles and now that I have used Master Spas, it has helped me a lot. I like this idea about the magnetic jets and I got the one that has only three seats on it. I used to have the pool spa for six people and it took about eight hours to warm it up. The one that I have now heats up within two and a half hours. I like this a lot. When I change the water, it doesn't take too much water either and it's very comfortable. The jets are working very well.
I paid 50% upfront and then, I wanted to finance it. They financed it interest free so I decided to pay it off. We did it within an hour while talking and filing the documents. It was delivered to the house and installed in the same day. It was very quick. I wasn't too far from them, but still, it was a distance, and they did it. They took away the old one that I had before. I wouldn't be able to remove it by myself. They were so nice. I’m extremely satisfied with Master Spas and I'm thankful for their whole crew that assisted me in purchasing the hot tub.

I sent a cancellation day 3 days after I ordered it. Never heard from him and then I received a bill for $6,300 from the finance company Greensky. They paid Master Spas, then I told them Greensky to have them send the spa. Never heard from them. Now Greensky holding me responsible for the bill. Greensky said there's not responding to the phone calls either. It is a scam company.
Hi David. Thanks for reaching out about this situation. Upon receiving this review, I reached out to your dealer to find out what was going on. It seems like the main issue here is miscommunication.
Kevin mentioned that after the purchase of your spa he spoke to you at length on the phone about access to your backyard and other site preparation details. Kevin then did some research on crane companies that could help install your spa and found one that would work, but he couldn't get in contact with you after that. Shortly after this is when you sent the cancellation notice.
Kevin then later got a notice from Greensky that they were trying to charge back the money that you approved to purchase the spa. After a lot of back and forth, your dealer and Greensky agreed that your dealer would refund you $3,519 and you would be responsible for the rest since you had already signed the purchase agreement stating that there would be no refunds.
Kevin says that they have no record of you asking for your spa to be delivered after the cancellation, however he did say that he would happily make arrangement for the spa to be delivered as long as you agree to pay back or re-finance the amount that your dealer refunded.
We're very sorry to hear that you felt as if this was a "scam", but it seems like the main issue here is miscommunication. If you do still want the spa that you originally purchased, please call Kevin and he'd be happy to set up delivery for you. Thanks for your feedback.

I wish I could be one of the satisfied customers writing this review. We purchased our TS 7.2 from our salesmen Paul, who was excellent, at a Master Spa Hot Tub Expo in April 2019 and paid in full on our credit card. After 7 weeks, we reached out to Master Spa as we had not heard anything regarding the delivery. After several emails and a phone message, it was determined that delivery of our new spa by their sub-contractor would not happen until 10 1/2 weeks after purchase. The signed contract clearly states that delivery will take place in 4 to 8 weeks with a target date of 6 weeks. We have received no apologies, no explanation and no credit for the delay, not even an offer of an extra filter.
I must say that this poor experience with Master Spa has really taken the excitement out of one of the most anticipated purchases of our lives. I don’t think a little communication from Master Spa over such an expensive item is asking a lot. I see others have complained of similar issues on this site, so please don’t be surprised when it happens to you. Good Luck!

I liked how Master Spas' hot tub had plenty of jets and that it had lighting. I also liked the size of it and the fact that it holds eight people. They also had a big sale and we liked the price. Their sales team was also very accommodating at the time. However, their provider in Maryland was Hot Tubs Inc and we had a very poor interaction with them from an installation perspective. During the installation, the team was very anxious to just drop the hot tub and move along when we thought we had covered everything. We also interacted poorly with them when ordering chemicals. Despite our calls and the times when we asked for their managers, they've done things like charging us for products before they even ship it. Though Master Spas' team answered all our questions, things went downhill as Hot Tubs Inc's service has been poor and substandard. I would discourage friends from dealing with Hot Tubs Inc.

Master Spas came in and made good on a spa that a dealer took the money and ran. They're incredible and I can’t say enough good things about them. I would recommend them. But the dealer was horrid and I had the worst experience with him. I think Master Spas even shut him down. He was recommended by another friend that had good luck with him and his location was great for us, so we decided to buy from him. We got the Clarity 7 and ordered it on October. It was supposed to be delivered before Christmas but I finally got it in June and Master Spas' main factory delivered it, not them.
There were so many phone calls and so many lies from the dealer. I didn't get any help there but at least I got phone calls back when they were still open. Then when they were closing the location, my husband went up there and talked to some man. He gave us the lady's number at Master Spas and told us that they'd be the ones delivering our order. So we called that number and much to my surprise, it really did happen. My kids love the spa and I’m happy with it. Master Spas has been so good. I even called them again just to get some lessons on how to actually work the thing. Other than that, I never got the manual from the dealer. I’ve tried to download it online but I haven’t been able to use it well. I was gonna see if they’d send me some books on how to operate it, but I never got that either.

I'm recommending the Master Spas product. It’s an amazing product as spas goes. I purchased the Twilight. I saw all of their products in display on the floor and recognized that that was the best package for my location and my usage. And for the purchase, the sales reps were attentive and they were able to negotiate with me to a sale. So, it was good. Also, I had a couple of warranty claims that I needed help with that Master Spas took care of for me. I had some challenges getting to their dealer after the purchase. When I had a couple issues, they didn’t return my phone call when I called their number, but once I got a hold of them, they were excellent.
The installation was easy for the installers. Those guys were professionals. They just wheeled it in on a cart, set it up, and told me a few hints, told me to give them a call at the store if I had any questions, and then from there, we had to get the electricity to it. It’s always nice to sit around with a glass of wine in the spa and relax after a crazy day. And it’s got some great features to it, it makes it a really invigorating soak, and it’s a great place for conversation with my wife. And so, we love it.

I like the jets and the seating arrangement. I like the captain seats that are in it as they are nice and comfortable. So far, the hot tub has been good. It feels sturdy, has good quality and construction. It seems to be doing everything it has to do. It is also of a fair price for the quality - maybe a little higher with the completion but the quality seems to be a little bit better too. That was what made us go for it. We put a down payment on a spa. After doing so, several medical events put us in a financial bind. While the contract says the down payment is nonrefundable, we hoped to find a company that cared about and was willing to work with its customers. Nope. Not here. Sometimes life happens and a company that isn't willing to acknowledge that and help out is not a company we want to do business with. They will resell the hot tub PLUS keep our deposit, making a ton of money - while we sit buried in medical bills. Thanks Master Spa for the personal touch. We are nothing more than a sales figure to you. From someone who owns a business, let us advise you that doing business this way is no way to stay in business. Word gets around eventually and people catch on and go elsewhere. And we hope they do.
Hi Deb. Thanks for reaching out about this. I first want to make it clear that we are only the manufacturer of the hot tubs, we are not the company that you made your purchase through. Because of this, we have no control over deposit refunds.
We did reach out to your dealer about this situation though, and they said that at one point you had mentioned still wanting to purchase a spa, but at a time when things were easier financially. As stated in the contract you signed, deposits are non-refundable. However, knowing that you might potentially be interested in purchasing in the future, they let you know that your original deposit amount could be used toward any future spa purchase you made through them once the timing was right. The retailer has mentioned that they have left you messages without any response and the owner of the company has more recently emailed you regarding the situation. They'd love to hear from you.

We went to a closeout sale and I really wasn't gonna buy a hot tub that day. The Master Spas team was very anxious to sell spas and the price went down to where it was kinda hard to say no. The hot tub was supposedly listed for 10 which was a little high. But we got it for six out the door and that included taxes and everything. That was what pushed the deal. We got a hot tub from their Twilight Series. They call it a three-person tub but it probably is more of a two-person for us. The big thing about this particular model versus the other ones they offered was the number of jets. It has like 26 to 30 jets. It has electronic controls, LED lighting in it which is very nice, a little waterfall, and two pumps. It also has two seats that have gobs of jets for shoulder, leg, and foot massaging.
After I got the hot tub and read through the stuff, I called customer service to ask some questions and they were fantastic. So far, the hot tub has been good. But the impact is not as much as I kind of expected it to. I have chronic Lyme disease. We had a hot tub before and when and we got that one, it was an absolute godsend and made a huge difference! But with this new one, I have just been out of the habit of getting in it for so long. It's in the basement and I'm not getting in it every night like I ought to. It's probably two to three times a week at most so it hasn't made as big a difference. But spas, in general, can make a huge difference. My son threatened to quit coming to see us after the other hot tub died. But he is visiting right now and he has been in our new hot tub every night. It's making a big difference for him while he's here. I'd tell others to give Master Spas a good hard look.

When I inquired about reimbursement, since this was not an electrical error, the manager told me they do not offer any type of compensation for my loss. I would have been happy with a free bucket of chemicals!

They came up with an excellent price and they’ve been great. We bought a TS 240 model and it sits on our deck right outside the house. I was concerned about too much weight on the deck but the weight fell right in line with the deck structures, so that was not an issue. The entrance to the deck kinda goes around a glass wall dining room. So, that was the biggest problem we had. We’ve also got a generator and the steps of the wiring is a little more complex than it would be if it were just a normal hookup. So, I had the firm that put the generator in do the electrical work and it worked out great.
We got it for therapeutic purposes and it’s meeting those expectations. I’m 74, I get aches and pains and so does my wife, which was the primary reason why we got it and it absolutely fills a bill. My wife uses it every day and I use it probably every other day. We usually use it at end of the day and it makes it easier to go to sleep.

We had to call the Master Spas team because we got into the sub-menu somehow, and they walked us through it. We had an easy experience overall. Master Spas has great salespeople.
So happy to hear that you've had such a great experience, Melissa! Thank you for the kind feedback!

We’ve had extremely good luck with Master Spas and we like them. We had a Master Spa seven-foot square that lasted for about 10 years but we started having some problems with it, so we decided to get a smaller one. We got the 6.2 Twilight Series and our experience with their reps was very good. There was no pressure. They showed us the different stuff they had then let us go out for lunch and talk about it. Then we came back and bought it. Getting our new tub set up was even easier. We got home and three hours later, the installers were here. They took the old one out, put the new one in, and we were set. We love our new hot tub and we're using it everyday. It’s got plenty of jets and is the right size.
We're so happy to hear that, Kevin! We love to hear about our happy customers. Thanks for the kind feedback - we appreciate it!

Master Spas has been great. The product’s amazing. We got the three-person hot tub and we like the customization options and the reviews. It’s made well and the warranty speaks for itself. It has a waterfall, water features, and things that made it a little more special than the other ones we had looked at. It’s been a pleasure since we got it. I feel relaxed and my muscles feel better. However, the company that sold us the spa was terrible. The retailer of the spa went out of business in the middle of all this. Master Spas stepped in and took care of our delivery and took care of a lot of things that were sort of the ball was dropped by the company that we bought it from. I’m just so glad we bought from them ‘cause another spa company might not have felt the need to get involved. It was a good experience.
Thanks, Jason! We're happy to hear that you were well taken care of. We appreciate the feedback. Happy hot-tubbing!

We went to a show in Corpus Christi, Texas and came across Master Spas. We had a particular space and Master Spas had one that would fit without tearing our wall down. It also came with a lid and it came with the steps. Their sales guy did a good job of promoting it. There were no difficulties with installation as well. It did get through the door. They've done everything they said. I did have one problem with it but they got it corrected. The tub has also helped with my knee and hip problems.
We're happy to hear that, John! Our hot tubs can do wonders when it comes to relieving aches and pains - it sounds like you've had some first-hand experience with that! Thank you for the feedback - we appreciate it!

Our Swim Spa is just a year old and we are having a lot of problems. We are noticing rust by the filter doors, at the lighting fixtures, handles. Then the air flow valve just flew off. Customer service was called and they were not surprised that this happened and a no flow valve is on its way. We had a spa before and we are regretting that we traded it in with this Swim Spa. The other Spa we had for 9 years and not one problems. Now this thing is barely a year old.

Master Spas' sales reps were easy to work with. I liked the Twilight 8.25's features and price. Also, it's made in the United States, it has good quality jets and has high energy efficiency. Very good quality.
We're happy to hear that, Mike! We pride ourselves on the quality of our spas, and we always enjoy hearing that our customers can feel the difference. Thank you for the feedback!

Purchasing our Master Spas was nothing but an excellent experience however dealing with the company now is ridiculous! We have a 6 month old spa that has a rusting LED light under the light cover. After multiple pictures and conversation back and forth we have been told it is only 'cosmetic' and they don't warranty that! We can however order a new light and then be charged a service call to put it in after we remove most of the water that was just changed! They don't stand behind their product obviously so BUYER BEWARE!! Also not to mention that the pillows have faded horribly as well...wish I could post a picture of them both!!
Hi Dee! Thanks for reaching out. I'm going to forward your review as well as your contact information to our customer care department so they can look into this for you. Thanks for the honest feedback! We appreciate it!

I got a Twilight 7.2 hot tub from MasterSpas recently and the sales reps whom we worked with were great as well as the people involved with getting it delivered. Problems were resolved very quickly. Thus far, I've found that the tub we got is of great quality and the jets are very powerful. It's a good value and when I use it, I definitely feel a little younger.

We'd been looking at Master Spas for a while and we bought a three-seat spa at a show. The kid that we bought it from really knew his stuff. He knew everything about it that we asked him, and had an answer for everything. Plus the price was right for what we got. Setup was straightforward. They came, set it up and installed the cover. They were here when they said they were gonna be. The tub is low maintenance and it's easy to take care of. It stays warm and does what it's supposed to do. I use it every day and now my sciatic pain is much less. I've recommended Master Spas to a couple of people.
Thank you so much, Jack! We're so happy to hear that one of our spas has been able to help with your sciatic pain! Hydrotherapy can really do wonders when it comes to relieving pain and decreasing stress. Thank you for the kind feedback!

I recently got a Midnight Series spa from Master Spas. The people at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul location were super nice. Their rep told us why Master Spas units were built for Minnesota versus the California Spas and other types which didn't have heaters in them for the winters. I didn't quite understand putting the different chemicals so I went down to their location again to buy some. Their rep told me that I should have enough chemicals to last me through the summer. I told him I didn't so he gave them to me for free and told me that he didn't want to want to see me back until next fall. He told me that I just didn't understand and that what he gave me was what I needed. I didn't need all the other chemicals in the spa.
However, we have a fairly good sized crack on the inside of our spa cover. The rep told me to take a picture and then gave me a website to send the picture to. Despite this issue, we love the spa. It's wonderful and we were all in it on New Year's Eve. It was about 50 below and there was a wind chill. The spa has little bubbles in it which were freezing. Still, the spa never left from 104 degrees even with the cold temperature. I liked how we could sit down low in the spa so that the wind would go over us instead of up high and freezing.

I'm very satisfied going with Master Spas. I got the eight-foot Twilight and while I don’t really get in the spa too much, I enjoy it when I do. Overall, the lighting and the waterfalls are nice, and the stereo is nice to have too. I had to have parts replaced. There was a recall on the fitting of the diverter valve, but it was so easy to do. Also, I'm a little disappointed on the Wi-Fi module that has been acting up, and they've ordered a new one. So, I'm hoping I have better luck with the new one. My experience with the company has been all positive so far. The customer service and the quality compared to the cost of the spa are very good.

This may be a good product if you manage construction projects for a living or are handy and physically able to do a lot of work yourself. I’m a disabled vet so needed something like this to help rehab, exercise and reduce stress. I also work full time, so managing multiple contractors to get this done was also problematic. Here’s my story...
I spent hours, more like days and weeks, researching and trying to find the right equipment to meet my needs. Even tested what I bought at the factory hours away to determine if it was right. This was useful so I’ll give an attaboy to Master Spas for this opportunity. Once I selected and paid my down payment (for what I thought was going to be a “new” Michael Phelps momentum deep swim spa), I had to start managing different contractors, getting quotes, and prepping the site. The first thing was installing the concrete pad. If this is not something you already have, be prepared to shell out a few thousand on top of what you pay for the spa. Just know ahead of time: if you don’t have the right pad, and the tub warps, the warranty is null and void.
Then I had to arrange for electric, who could only do half the job because the spa had not arrived yet. Plus, electricians don’t necessarily know what they are doing with swim spas; so select wisely who does the work. It took hours for my electrician to figure out the diagrams they gave us... Maybe that’s not Master Spas fault... Maybe, just maybe there is a better way to communicate what needs to be done. Electrician said it had already been wired up partially, so we were well on our way (why was half the work already done? Oh yeah, floor model, not new as expected). Electric hookup will also be a few thousand more depending on what your needs are.
Then I had to remove a fence (which being disabled, was not easy...but it happened, mostly with the help of my awesome family). Once the spa was delivered, ripping through my yard and my neighbor’s, not bothering to fix anything, they dropped it and left. I was on my own... Looking at the folder they gave me that said “floor model”... Wait, what? I paid how much for something they have been using on the floor? I have no idea who or what has been swimming around in my spa before me. Great, guess that’s what the chlorine is for.
Also note, if you have this delivered in winter, it may be “winterized,” which means there will be pink anti-freeze in it. The guys dropping it off said this will be no problem; just fill it up and the filters will take out the anti-freeze... Mmmm. Ok, fine... I was told to take the panels off to get the operator’s manual... Really? They put the manual inside the panels of the spa?! The screws were rusty (just how long was this spa a floor model?) and after a bunch of drilling and some choice words, I get the panels off to find the manual and some other gadgets, which I have no idea the purpose of, nor can I find any reference to in any manuals. (Hope there is a YouTube video to tell me what to do).
So according to the incredibly hard to understand and cryptic operator’s manual, I determine that I need to fill the spa before the electricians finish the job so we can test it to make sure everything works. I do, and then they come back so I can give them another grand $... Awesome! We “test it”... Nobody really knows how anything works so we push random buttons, I see whirring and bubbles so we declare “good to go, baby.”
Now the chemicals... Assuming I get the levels right and don’t poison myself - my guess is this will be all worth it... Time will tell. So what is the lesson here? Understand that the company is going to sell you this tub and drop it in your yard. Every other detail, (concrete, electric, prepping the site for delivery, fixing the site after delivery, setting up the spa with water and chemicals, bleeding the lines for air should that be a problem) is on you. If you’re up for it and physically able, or have the time to hire and manage contractors, then go for it; but don’t expect a whole lot of help from the company you just shelled out your hard earned money to.

I had a great experience with Brent and this hot tub; no pressure to buy it. My problem was the delivery. Rodney said gate width area was 38" brick to brick which is not correct as it is 40". I removed gate & hinges and put blankets on the walls. I watched as my spa was slid off the back of the trailer and then dropped onto the pavement. The two guys weren't strong enough to push 1485lbs up the front of my house to the back yard. Construction workers across the street helped get the spa to side opening and left. Rod and Mike pushed the spa on a dolly with low tires and then let the spa backside drop against my brand new house sliding it leaving a scratch mark down the side of my house and stucco window frames.
There was 6" on both sides of the spa but the two weren't strong enough to push and move the tub. I asked why they didn't have more people and they said, "Ma'am this is all you got." I am inserting pictures. I have left messages with Kevin in MN but no return calls. Rodney claims I said I accept damages. I did to the hot tub, NOT my brand new house. Who would say that with a brand new house? Kevin, to this day has NEVER returned my calls. No one has called to answer my questions or even apologize for what happened. I haven't even had a chance to enjoy my hot tub yet. I hope it's not damaged from being dropped. I asked Rodney and he told me the pumps were bolted in and I was told I have a 5 year warranty.

I liked the price of the HL 7 from Master Spas. I got one and the customer service they provided at the showroom was outstanding. I liked how they worked with us. We told them what we could spend and they found the best deal. They didn't try to upsell using a used car salesman tactic. Instead, their guy found exactly what we wanted and I was impressed by that. However, I have a problem with the minimum water line. It says it's a 4-person hot tub but then if we fit four people in it, that displaces all the water and we have to refill it. Still, the quality of the hot tub has been great thus far.

I looked at a few companies and I liked the Master Spas Clarity 7 design. It looked like the design was really well and the filter was out of the way so it didn't protrude in the use of the spa. It would be nice if Master Spas had an all-in package going forward, saying like, “Here’s your spa, here’s the cover for it. Here’s all the other stuff you need for it too.” Instead of like, “Here’s the price.” And then, all of a sudden, you start adding on to it. But I like the spa. I got a good value for it.

We enjoyed Master Spas' design and the quality of the product. We purchased a small, three-person spa at a local retailer. The manufacture of the unit is very good, fit and finish. The control panel is nice. Also the, cost is reasonable. The unit is on the low-end of the value scale but well-worth it. Master Spas is doing a great job. They should keep up what they are doing.
