    I like my Independent Home tub. I can easily walk in and there's enough water pressure. I can sit down and wash my hair easily by leaning over. I got the hand spray but it makes it so much easier for me to get down there and get my hair and feet washed. I also like the seat warmer and the jets. The only thing was they gave me some instructions on what all those buttons did but when I push the button that's supposed help drain it faster, it doesn't drain. There is another button that you could push on the left-hand side that's supposed to let off the small jets but I don't see them doing anything. Also, when the water starts to drain, I can hear the water in my toilet bubbling then I start smelling sewage coming from my drain. My son was telling me there's supposed to be a flap to keep that from coming in. I have some plumbers here right now because I'm getting all my plumbing updated. They're gonna be working on that.

    Independent Home's sales rep was very kind. Also, the installer was nice. Ran into a couple of hiccups and was good about fixing it, good about telling me about it. At first, one thing didn't work. It wouldn't go up and down, and refill at the end. But they got the part, came back and fixed it right away. The only issue I have is I had a 50-gallon water heater and it did not work. So, we ended up putting in a new one thinking that mine was too weak and that was not big enough. We had to get an 80-gallon one. So, I would be very strong on suggesting that people know that upfront. We even got a booster and that wasn't enough. Independent Home needs to be more honest and clear about that.

    The sales rep was great, and installation went good. The install guys got in and did what they were supposed to do. The walk-in tub is convenient for me taking a bath, and I like that I can get in, sit down and take a bath. I needed a walk-in tub because sometimes I wasn't able to get in our tub 'cause I got some toes cut off.

    Billy ** was my salesman. He was very caring, understanding, and patient with my disability and hearing loss. I did end up buying a walk-in tub from Independent Home.     From start to finish a very professional company. The salesman was very thorough and understood our needs. The installation team consisted of two men, each very professional and very, very, very clean throughout the process. The worksite was kept clean, which was very helpful for my wife. The installation Was explained to us as far as all matters needing our attention should anything ever happened to the system and we went through every function of the tub and without a doubt we feel very comfortable with the instruction and the installation.     I had Independent Home install a walk in tub in Nov 2023. When I first ran the tub it did not fill up with enough hot water to run the jets. We had to boil 2 large pots on the stove to get enough hot water! They sent the contractor back out who added a "booster" to my hot water heater. When I ran the water it only ran cool throughout the house. They sent another contractor a week later who adjusted the booster. After that the water only ran lukewarm water. I called the gas company out to do an inspection. They told me that was the hottest it would get and I needed a new hot water heater. Also the tub takes 12-18 minutes to drain even when taking a shower. I recorded this. They have told me twice now that they would send someone out. No one has called or come out.

    Ordered a tub for my mother and the sales rep oversold and the tub didn’t fit. Then brought a new tub and had to make the bathroom door wider. Once the tub was in place the installer never put the door trim or wall back or painted the wall or door frame. Disconnected the chair lift and when he reconnected the chair. It never worked properly! I have called, emailed and wrote letters and still no resolution. Even have a case number #** but This is how the company treats a ninety year old woman.

    The walk-in tub installation and the people were great. The guy that installed it was quick and efficient, explained things and cleaned up after himself. But I didn't get to call them and ask, “Do you have something in writing?” I know I could look online, but it's nice to have a piece of paper that says you turn this on and you turn that on because there's a lot of stuff to it. It would be helpful if Independent Home had more written instructions to go with it. I spent a lot of money on this, so I'm trying to be very careful with it. I don't wanna mess it up. Other than that, everything is wonderful because it has the jets and the hydrotherapy. I have trouble with my knees and my back. It makes my knees feel good. I would recommend it to anybody.

    My mother is enjoying the walk-in tub. When she got in there, she didn't want to get out. She felt the massage of the little bubbles. She was always complaining she couldn't take a shower because she was scared she was gonna fall, and she has arthritis really bad too. So far, I’ve made the right decision.

    I contracted with Independent Home to put in a shower tub and the price, time to install was great, everything was great, but when I sat down the next day and did my budget I realized I couldn't afford it. When I contacted them by a phone and email they were wonderful in getting my contract canceled.     The installers were here on time. They were fabulous. They took my tub out and had trouble with my door. The interior doors are not as wide as I wish they were. They had told me ahead of time that they would probably have to take the frame off. But they put it back together. I'd recommend the Independent Home tub with certain reservations. It isn't exactly what I expected. It takes over 20 minutes to fill it up. I like to soak. But I want my water hot and it's taking that long to fill up and the water is just lukewarm.

    I like the tub but I would have done a couple of things differently. I would not have purchased the one with the jets because you have to put so much more water in it. I probably won't use the jets again. I also thought I could lean back more, but I'm sitting straight up. I still don't have the shower handle on the wall. They told me I could get a suction one and not have to put screws in the wall. When I turn the water on, if somebody wanted to shower, I'm not sure if the water would go far enough in the tub for them to shower without them having to hold the shower handle. But the air bubblers are as strong as I need and they don't need as much water.

    I got a call from Independent Home and the rep said they wanted to come out and give me an estimate. I said okay and they did. I liked their estimate and they came back and did the work. Two guys showed up on the day they said they were going to and on the first half of the day, they tore everything out. They cleaned everything and then installed the new walk-in shower. They were done at close to 8 o'clock that night. They did an excellent job.

    There's a place that was scuffed on the back wall of the shower and the installers are waiting for the stuff that they need. I've been in contact with them a couple of times. The guys that did the work said that they travel around doing this for Independent Home and they have places like Indianapolis where the stuff will come into and they pick it up there. Kansas City was one of them. But as soon as the stuff arrives, they're supposed to come back and buff that out and put the sealant on. There's about a 3-inch space behind the foot bar that needs sealant and they're going to replace or fix that too. So, all in all, I'm well pleased with Independent Home.

    The reps from Independent Home were quiet and very efficient. And when they were through, the job was terrific. I had a regular tub and shower before and now, I have a walk-in tub with a hand shower. It's got hold bars and a seat in it. It’s has a little step to get in and the only thing I found uncomfortable about it was the hard plastic seat. But I got on Amazon and bought a cushion to sit on. So, I'm comfortable.     The sales representative from Independent Home seemed knowledgeable, confident, and reflected well on the company and the products that they sold. The installation was a one-man show. The installer worked hard. I trusted him in my home and around my family. He was prompt, informative, very professional and did excellent work. The bathroom before was more formal and wasn’t jetted. We had a nice deep tub that was long for lounging. I would sleep in it and watch television. It also had a hand sprayer. It's just that the one person in that particular room wasn't able to get in or out and we were at the point where we would have to call for assistance if he got stranded in the tub. He wasn't wanting to bathe. It was a big deal, because of the difficulty getting in and out. It didn't matter how pretty it was. It just wasn't working for him. But once we had the walk-in installed, he was bathing and he’s healthier and happier. Overall, he feels better.

    The walk-in tub now is not as pretty as what we had there before but it is more functional. Besides just being clean, the bubbles and all of the different features relax our family member’s body, help him stay clean and get the blood circulating. He rests better. It's a very pleasant experience. Not only for him but for me as a provider for his well-being. Besides all the different bubbles, it’s heated and there's a massage and a shower as well as an apparatus for a shower curtain. We're not using that at this juncture, but it is available. We've got what we need for it. We got most of all the bells and whistles.

    My experience with Independent Home was fantastic. I couldn't be happier. I got the figure from them first. They came out to be factory direct and the best price. I liked the salesman. He told me the truth about everything. Then the installers came in and told me how it was gonna go down. It went down exactly like they told me.     I looked at walk-in tubs over the internet, and I settled on Independent Home. I got three of them to come in and take a look. Independent Home was the better one. They sent me a person to look at the house and gave an estimate. The fella was discussing what tubs to purchase and he wanted to look and see what it looked like at the house to see if they had an availability to get the tub in and availability for the electricity. He was kind and cordial. I wanted an outward-facing door. That way, I can get two handicapped people into the tub. But he suggested an inward-facing door and that's what we ended up doing. We got the tub installed and we tried to get people in it and we couldn't. I've got two of them that are wheelchaired and the door facing inward is too skinny. People can't lift their feet up into the tub. So, I called them and told them I need to change the tub to an outward-facing door. I haven't got anything back yet and it's been two weeks.

    Other than that, the tub is of very good quality. It looks great. How they installed it in the bathroom is great. Everything on the tub works and they couldn't have done a better job. Two people came out and it took a good eight hours for them to install that tub. It has a light in the water and it has little air bubble jets. It has big flow jets. It has a temperature adjustment for the water coming in. It has a selector that selects either water coming in or a shower head and it has a massager in the back. It has a heated seat. It has all the amenities. The quality is fantastic.

    After the installation, Independent Home's tech had filled up the tub. He shut the water off to the house, which is fine. When I saw him filling up the tub, the water was all brown and he said that was from turning the water off. But that didn't make sense. It had been shut off before and I never had to fill up a tub of brown water. And it wouldn't drain. It took over an hour to drain this tub. I said, "I don't know why it's not draining, but it should be." His response was, "If it doesn't drain and it happens again, just call the plumber." He should have waited until he was able to fill that up with clean water and drain it. And what did he mean by call the plumber? The tub drained before. And I have no problems with the toilets draining. I got locked in for over an hour because it didn't drain. I had to climb out. That's not safe.

    The tub was over $15,000. And that's not right. On a Saturday, the salesman said he would be here on Monday when they were doing the installation. They never showed up on Monday and that wasn't right. And I still haven't spoken to him. I don't have a phone number for him. I'm ready to have them come, take it out and cancel the whole thing. I'm gonna call the Better Business Bureau and see if I can do that because it's nonsense. I still haven't used the tub.

    I can wash my face and do a body wash. When I had my other tub, I could put more water in there to wash up. Here, because it's a low door, I couldn't put an inch of water in the bottom because it would come out the door. So, I couldn't open it to get out. It has to be below. It's a very low amount of water to open the door. So with the tub backing up, I couldn't wash my face and hair with the shower hose. There's too much water in the tub. I have to use my sink.

    Mark, the salesman from whom we bought our Independent Home, had a great presentation and the installers were incredible. The install day was supposed to be on a Tuesday, but there was some kind of miscommunication with the guy who set that up. So, it happened the following day. But the installation went like clockwork. Josh and the other gentleman with him did a fantastic job. They were a paragon. We got the walk-in tub with a shower. It's white and there are air jets. I use the walk-in for showers and baths. I'm currently pretty busy, so it's nice to be on there. It also makes it safer for me to shower. It gives you the option of soaking in a very therapeutic tub and we believe it will add a good amount of value to our home if we ever decide to sell it.

    The Independent Home installer was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and did the job and got it done. I added on a hot water heater because I had a regular 40-gallon and that was insufficient. Now, when I fill it up inside, I get hot water all the way to the end. I like the jets and that the tub empties out quickly too, because I have a two-inch drain, so I don't have to stay in there that long. That works out well for me because I'm handicapped. I'm an amputee. I have to take my leg off when I get in there, and when I'm in there, I have no leg on. And coming out, I gotta put the leg back on before I get out. I also like that I can even take the shower sitting down. After it empties out, I wash my body off with the nozzle. The tub cleans up after itself too, air blows out. I don't have to do anything and that is a good feature for me.

    The installers had a little up and down with different people coming because one guy got hurt, but they got the tub in all right. Having the walk-in tub is in our favor in every way. We needed one because we are old and have issues getting in and out. With Independent Home, we sit down when we're bathing and we step down in there.     The installers of Independent Home did a good job. They had to fix part of the wall to get the tub in and they even found a leak in the plumbing that we didn't know we had. It was very lucky that they planned out how they were gonna put it in because we could see water dripping, but it hadn't caused any damage yet. They fixed that leak and they didn't charge us anything extra. Everything worked out just fine and they did the installation in one day.

    It has water and air jets and it cleans the lines out 10 minutes or so later. And it has the shower riser so if we wanna use it just as a shower, we can do that. It took us a while to figure out how to get the plug in to fit right, though. The handle didn't rotate right because the chain was sort of draped over the wrong side and we had to move it around so it fit better. As soon as we moved it to the other side, it was fine. My husband uses the tub a couple of times a week.

    The saleslady went over the stuff that Independent Home's had. She also had her independent research on the different modalities of it and showed me all. I got all the bells and whistles. The tub is wonderful. It's got the light therapy, the ion negative water jet therapy, and the bubbles. The installers showed me how to work it. The installation was real smooth. They had a system. There was a part where the Jacuzzi that I had and the new one didn't fit. They replaced the sheetrock.

    I liked Independent Home's warranty and price. I got a bathtub. My mother was falling. So, that helps her to just sit down to take a shower. I did not have insulation in my house because of age. So, I told them that I will break the outside wall for them for insulation and put a drywall. The guy told me that they could do the drywall for me just on the bathroom side, which was fine with me. I was gonna do the whole thing. The only problem I saw was they brought regular drywall, and not a bathroom one. The salesman was awesome. He explained everything very well. He did a very good job, but the installer brought that wrong drywall. They told me they would do it anyway. It's part of the installation. All I had to do was put the insulation myself, which I did.

    When I saw that they did install it, I stopped them and said, "Hey, go ahead. Feel free to use my own drywall to finish the job." So, half of it was regular drywall, and the other half was the correct drywall. For them to do it all every day, you do not use regular drywall in the bathroom. Anybody that does construction knows that. I also did not like that they charged me to throw the power line for the pump for the jets in the bathroom. They charged me for installation of a brand new cable from the panel all the way to the unit, but he was trying to steal power from any other connection in the area. He didn't do it because he couldn't find one. So, he was forced to run the cable, and throw it from my panel all the way to the unit. As far as the product, when you open the door, the door can hit the side of the bathroom. So, it is making a mark in there. Also, the valve was leaking from. The job took two days. He left and they come back to change the valve.

    Independent Home's reps were really nice and helpful. They got the job done really fast and it was all neat and clean. They were good about explaining how everything worked, too. I like that the walk-in bathtub's door is guaranteed not to leak. I also like that the shower part of it is easy to manipulate and you could hold it in your hand if you wanted to. But it goes up and down a bar, so you could adjust the height. It also has a bigger type of head which is a square.

    When my Independent Home tub was being installed, I excused the first tech they sent and I wouldn't pay. Then they sent a second installer and he absolutely went crazy. He said if I didn't mind, he'd take all the stuff down and start over again. And I told him to go for it. But it turned out that his plumbing installation underneath the tub wasn't done right and the tub doesn't empty all the way. I talked to their rep, Serge, and I got told to get a plumber. And if it turned out to be their problem, they'd pay the bill. The plumber came out and he said he'd do it but chances are, if he did it, it'd void my warranties on the tub, implied or otherwise. So he walked away. But he's writing me an examination report on what he discovered when he examined the tub installation. So I ain't happy and if I had my choice, I'd ask Independent Home to come take their tub back and refund my money.

    The sales representative was great. She answered all my questions. But I had an issue with the guys that installed the tub. Shortly after they left, I used it, and the back where they put the extra shelf in because there was a gap between the wall and the tub, so they put a piece of plastic across it. Then they caulked it, but the caulking was already starting to crack the first time I used it. So I had to have my son-in-law son in law come over and recaulk it because nobody answered their phones over there.

    The first time that I used the tub, the motor wouldn't shut off, so it ran for four hours. I kept calling Independent Home and left messages after messages. Finally, somebody called me back after four hours of the motor running and told me how to turn it off. I'm elderly, so asked what should I do and they said I had to take off the panel. I told them, “ I paid how much money for this thing, and I have to do it?” So I was a little ticked off. But it's been running great ever since.

    It was awfully pricey, especially with the customer service I wasn't getting. But I really like the tub. Part of me wishes that it was a little bit wider, but overall, it's great. I wish they would have also told me that I don't have a big enough hot water heater because I can't fill the tub all the way up with hot water. It ends up shooting out cold water after a while. I'm gonna have to pay extra to have somebody come out and install a new hot water heater if I want it filled up with hot water.

    The buttons in the tub are not labeled so it's difficult for me to try and figure out what I'm supposed to be pressing. It's a little daunting because if they're selling these to elderly folks, how are they supposed to remember from bath to bath what button they're supposed to be pressing? I didn't like the idea that the buttons didn't make any sense to me. One says, “wave,” but it doesn't do anything. There's another button in there that it says up and down. I have no clue what that is. The guys didn't tell me what it was. There was no manual to show me what it was. If the manufacturer had an actual manual, it might help.

    The salesperson from Independent Home explained the product to us and she was nice to talk to. When she was explaining it, she made it more possible. We had a smaller space. She said the technicians would be able to accommodate all that. She sold us. As far as the installation team, the guy who was doing it said it was his first time doing the work. The finishing was really bad. I had to ask him to work on it again. He was such a nice guy. He just needs experience. It was his first time but if I'm paying that much amount of money, I would like a professional to do it.

    I'm still not fully satisfied with the finishing. And besides, it’s been a while. So, things have been cracking open a little bit to where they finished it. There are some leaks by the pipe where the showerhead comes from. I contacted the company. They said they were gonna send a technician. The tub itself is awesome. I like it but I haven't been using it as often because the finishing is not good. When you use it, it’s really awesome.

    The rep and I discussed several different companies and their products versus Independent Home’s products. It wasn't biased but factual and I had already done research and it correlated with what they were saying. The basic model of the walk-in tub has a better design and I got it. The installers had to take out the old tub/shower combo unit and put that one in. They left it better than when they started.

    People should go for Independent Home. I can use the walk-in tub and all the attachments are within easy reach. It has the grab handles so you can get in and out without breaking your neck. It also has a shower curtain that goes around and that makes it a lot easier. Everybody was very nice, helpful and got it done. The sales and the marketing process was excellent. They worked hard to make it affordable for me by subsidies and made it work. They went way over and above. I'm a penny pincher so, everything's too high but compared to the rest of them, Independent Home was reasonable. My recommendation is them over everybody else.

    Hi **: Well, I cannot give it a 5-star rating, for sure. I would say closer to a 3-star rating overall. Sonja ** was an excellent rep/salesperson. I enjoyed meeting with her and her husband in the original interview before signing up and getting the installation. However, the original date for the install did not happen: Your installer just didn't show up! There was no call to let me know they were not coming; they just didn't show and I wasted my day waiting for them and had to call myself to find out what the heck was going on. A second date was immediately arranged, though you might imagine my hesitation around trusting they would actually show up. But at least I was promised a call this time if another snafu meant I wouldn't be getting the install that day.

    This time they called in a team from Tacoma WA (Chris was the lead on this team), hours away from my home in The Dalles, OR. They arrived late (traffic, understandably) and apparently had not had a good passdown for what to expect. For example, they did not know how old my house was, so they ran into a glitch when they discovered my plumbing was old = galvanized. This required a special fitting or such, which they tried to find locally at Home Depot and Ace Hardware, to no avail. So my install was delayed again, and they had to leave my bathroom torn up, drive clear back to Tacoma, and return the next day to complete the job!

    As the install was near completion, I requested an owner's manual so I could remember how to operate each feature of the spa tub, and was given a four-page tip sheet/"don't do" handout, which was of very little help because it wasn't specific. For example, I am supposed to have an "adjustable wall mount & soap dish," which I did not get. An example of maintenance: it tells me to clean it once a month, and to use dishwashing detergent, but no indication or suggestion of which brand would be best, and no specificity around whether I must fill the tub with hot water, or whether the "cleaning" flush can be done with cold water.

    I don't fault Chris for any of this. He obviously was called in quickly after the "no-show" install was aborted. He couldn't even give me a copy of the final invoice just before they left! And since it was late when they finished (they didn't leave till after 8pm), he gave me a quickie tour of the features, which I was OK with me because I thought I'd get a complete Owner's Manual that I could review!

    So while I'm learning by trial and error how to use the features on the spa tub, I am disappointed that I don't have a better resource that I can reference for using the features and maintaining the tub on a regular basis. For now, I'm only using the shower head! I took one soak in it and got a chill because the heated seat was not engaged and the in-line water heater that I was told would maintain the water temp didn't seem to be working either, probably, I assume, because I don't know how to engage either of these features! I hope I have given you some specific examples so you can understand my frustration and disappointment.

    The woman that came out initially as well as the people who did the install were very kind. But the installation was a longer process than what I was told initially. I was told it was gonna be a 1-day installation. When the guys came out, they said it was not gonna be one day but most likely two. It was two days for the tub to be installed.

    I also had it tied to upgrade my water heater for the tub. That didn't come at the same time that the tub came so they had to come back. That was another two days because there was an electrical issue in addition to the install. Two weeks ago, I had an issue where something happened with the water heater. Independent Home sent someone out right away. They've always been very responsive. I don't think my installation was typical for normally what they have to do. But they did whatever they needed to do to make it work and be as least disruptive as they could be. It was not an easy install especially where the water heater was located. It's quite a small area. That was a tricky installation for them. I wish I had done research before making the purchase but the tub has worked out very well.

    I was disappointed 'cause the tub is so small that I can't move around to really bathe. Also, I had a lot of trouble getting the water regulated with some pressure and temperature. We finally got those under control but overall, I wish I'd gone with a shower. Plus, the shower head is installed so high that I can't reach it. But there's a handheld shower which makes it useable.

    I was interested in just cutting out my existing tub and I wanted a new vanity. I looked online and I got all these phone calls. None could do what I wanted. But then Independent Home called and I asked, “Can you cut out to tub?” He said, “No, but we can get you a Jacuzzi with aromatherapy and a walk-in shower that feels like a waterfall.” He just sold me. We ended up talking forever. He was a nice man. He gave me his number and said, “If there's anything you need to ask, whatever, this will get directly to me at the office...”

    The guy who came to tell me about the product and gave me quotes was nice too. It was a little bit too much money and I wish I could have done something else. But all in all, the shower is like a waterfall and the Jacuzzi is fabulous. I just don't use it as often as I should because I'm busy and it's hard for me to sit down. But I love it. As I get older, I'll appreciate it a lot more because I can walk in. The shower is amazing and I love how you have it set. You turn it on and the water is hot right there where you left it. You don't have to fiddle like you do on a regular one.

    My installers were two great guys and I liked them. Both their names were David and they were the nicest men. They were totally down to earth. One was a little older in overalls and the other one was younger. He might have been training. It took them two days instead of one, which was no big deal. They took out my existing tub. The spout was on one side and they had to swap it to the other side. They put up two handrails. With the tilework that they put back, you can't even tell anything was wrong. It's beautiful. They put in the new tub and they caulked around it. They had to re put my toilet back in and caulked around it. They did a great job. They asked me about the shower and how I wanted the liner. We were gonna go with my curtain or their curtain. I'm glad we went with their curtain because now I have the curtain open because I have a skylight in there and it's really pretty to look in there.

    I ended up having to ask them to come back because when they put my toilet back, it teetered a little bit. They came back the very next day and fixed it for me. One of them even said, “You did something so we had to come back, didn't you?” I said I messed with my toilet. The overall whole thing was really good. The product's good and I hope that Independent Home is gonna be around for a long time. The people really made a difference.

    I have some plants around the back of the tub and it's really nice. I've had a few people come over and say, “I wanna come see your tub.” I wish that it was bigger and that it was for two, but it can't be bigger for the space. My observation is if someone was bigger, they'd have a hard time. I'm up and I'm not big. I go in, I take a shower, and I close the door. I have to squeeze back and tilt so that I can close the door. But it's because you're supposed to get in, sit down, and close the door. I don't do that. The other thing is it's so expensive. But you're gonna have that with everything. I had to get a tank with a water heater. That was another 6,000. Mine is in the area of 22,000. Other than that, everything is perfect.

On installation day, we thought the techs would come here early. They arrived about noontime so we were a little worried that the job would run overnight.     They put the tub in and they did well, except they broke the walls. One of them is in the living room and one of them is in the next bathroom. They gave it over to their insurance company. The insurance company called me and told me to get a contractor. But I haven't been able to get a contractor out here. I still have two broken walls. The plaster is broken. They did it and didn't say anything. I found it. I told them about it and all they did was turn it over to their insurance company. No responsibility whatsoever.

    I'm also not thrilled with the tub. It only comes up to over your mid-section. It's small. I'm very short but it's still short compared to a bathtub. It's not a total solution. I love the jets. But it takes the entire hot water tank to fill it. So you can't do anything else in the house after you fill it. We were told that our 50-gallon tank would take care of it. Then we had to have a piece put on top of it to add more gallons of instant water for another $700 because what they told us wasn't true.

    The Independent Home guys were slow. They come half a day and come late in the day, although they were about 60 miles away. On some days, there'd be three of them out there, then some days there'd only be one. They were nice guys and worked when they were here, but it's just getting them here. Installation went all right, but my wife wasn't happy with them. Sometimes, it seemed like the installers knew what they were doing, and sometimes, I wasn't sure that they did. I didn't get a good feeling on some of their things like molding around the tub.

    Also, the demonstration at the end, there is one device on the tub that people put some beads down in it, and they're supposed to make everything smell good. We put beads in there from day one, and they're still there. We don't know what we're doing wrong. We don't get any smell. They're just like they're brand new beads. They don't get wet or heat. I don't know what the deal is there. Other than that, the quality of the tub is good, and I haven't had any problems with it. Customer service has been good too.

    I got the standard kind of walk-in with the jets from Independent Home and they installed it on the 10th of July. Two men came out and they finished it up in two days. It's nice and I like it. I like the jets in it but the water doesn't get hot all the way until it gets filled all the way up. Other than that, it's convenient to use because I'm getting up in age. I had to take care of my mom when she was 93 and it was hard for us to get her back and forth into the tub. I also started looking into it when she was still alive.     The sales representative was fantastic. She is good at her job. The installation went reasonably well too, except the guy didn't connect all the pipes properly. I had to hire a plumber to come out and connect the pipes. They were connected, but the joints weren't tightened up, so it came apart. I leaked water from around midnight to the next day till I got out there and turned the well pump off. Also, nobody considered this being an older modular trailer and I don't have a big enough hot water tank. I only get water up to about my knees, so I don't use the walk-in tub. I go over to my daughter's place and use their facilities. It's been miserable, and I can't say anything really good about Independent Home 'cause I haven't been able to get anything done.     The salesman, Francis, explained everything well. He was the deciding factor in going with Independent Home. The only thing we wanted was to see the tub before we bought it. All I saw were pictures and things on TV, but they were not the same. Also, it took so long for them to get the tub in and finish. They took a whole day to just get the old tile out and took a whole nother day to put it in.

    After they put it in, of course, our floors were messed up and some of the areas that they put the tub in were left open areas where it needed a new flooring over it. They said they couldn't be back to fix it for two weeks and I started thinking they might not come back at all. I had to call to find out and I wanted to find out what I was responsible for because they made me think that I needed to pay for all the repairs in the bathroom that were left to be fixed.

    When I talked to a rep, he assured me that I was only supposed to pay for the supplies and that the guys doing it were paid by Independent Home. I mentioned to the two guys that I was told that I was only responsible for the vinyl and the paint but still, in the end, they charged me $250 for what they did. I liked them as people and they did what they were supposed to do but I felt like they weren't following what they were supposed to have done. It left a bad taste in my mouth about it. All of that wasn't a good experience for me. But I've used the tub twice and it was very relaxing to get in with the water. Although I probably need a larger water heater. I've got a 40-gallon one, but I just feel like it should be told that you need a 50-gallon. Once it starts filling up with warm water, it runs out before it gets to a high enough level to really feel like you can get under the water some.

    The techs took my front door out but they damaged both sides of the frame. Now there's a 1/4-inch gap on both sides. I have to spend $75 on a metal thing to put around the door. Even with that, the wind still comes through. Winter is gonna be terrible. Also, they were supposed to replace the frame in the bathroom. They charged me but they didn't do it saying it was not in the contract. What they left was a mess. I called Independent Home to complain and tell them what the techs did and to this day, they haven't called me back. They don't answer my phone calls either. The tub is okay but they didn't do the rest of the stuff they were supposed to do. I’m a disabled veteran. The VA was gonna pay for it, but now the VA won't pay.

    Also, when my wife used the tub, the water went all over the floor because we needed a curtain. We told them that was in the contract but they refused. I saw that on the iPad of the guy who did the contract but they didn't give me the paper.

    Installation went well and the crew was very nice. They got the job done in six hours, and they walked through everything with me. They did a heck of a good job, except I can't tell how they missed things on the hot water. When I went to get in the tub after they left, I had no hot water, so I had to stop. It was during the evening, so I waited till the next day to call Independent Home. I told them I didn't have any hot water and the rep said he'd get back to get somebody over there. The repairman came and got it fixed right away. They were very professional and good.

    The hot water hose was kinked underneath, so I had to wait a couple of days to take a bath. I have two baths, and one is a bath with a shower. So, I was okay, but I just wanted to use my tub. Other than that, everything was great and I have no complaints. The overall cost is a lot more than the other tubs that I priced out, but I also got what I thought was a premium package. My walk-in bathtub is very solid and it's got good, thick walls on it. I've had it for four almost a week now, which isn't that long, but it really makes me feel good. The sales reps said how well it would operate and how well it does, and it does exactly it. It's very good. In fact, I got some people looking at it and they're thinking about putting one in.

    I live in a house that was built in 1969 and the old tub that was in there was a thick cast iron tub. The Independent Home installer broke that up and took it all out, cleaned up and did everything perfectly. It took a day and a half, and the quality of work was excellent. He also explained everything he was gonna do, and after he was finished, he went over everything he did as well as showed us how to use the tub and what everything was for. He did a fantastic job, and it's a great tub. It's very relaxing. I'm 79 years old and I have a little arthritis and some lower back pain. When I get in that tub and then come out of there, I am so relaxed and without pain. It is a fantastic system. If someone's interested in a tub, Independent Home is the place to go.

    I am having some issues with my tub, but I called Independent Home and spoke with Jose. The problem is that it's too small. If I wanna take a shower, I can stand up, but I can barely move around. There's no room from the wall to the door. And when I try to open the door, I have to back up, sit down, and then stand up to try to get out. The width of the door is not wide enough. My salesman referred me to some guy up in New Jersey. He said he would get back to me. I'm afraid to get in it because when I try to take a shower, it's too scary. I can't move. If something happened to me, they wouldn't be able to open the door to get me out. The door doesn't open out, it opens in. I don't wanna get stuck in there and not be able to get out.

    My salesman was very kind. I have no issue against him except that I wish he would have ordered me a tub where the door opened out instead of in. There's no room for me. I can hardly even raise my arms in there to wash my hair. Also, the drain is okay, but the fill up time is on the slow side. It takes a good 10 minutes for it to fill up. I live in a condo, so I don't have any water pressure.

    Independent Home sent a salesman to my home and he was juat an information salesman. I didn't feel any pressure whatsoever. Their price was excellent. They were less than half the price of Kohler. I'm a construction guy and I saw what the installers did and I'm happy with it. They did a good job of installing the tub. It seems to work very good so I'm very happy with it. It's a shower with a seat. I can go in, sit down and wash my hair. The fact that you can just walk in and close the door is the best feature. Other than that, the handheld shower is the feature that I like the best. It's excellent. The power drain wasn't included but I got it. It should be included because it would be really slow to drain if it didn't have that. It was just $600 but I'm glad I bought it. It was worth it.

    Our Independent tub has jets, bubbles and a heater. It's okay, but it's not finished yet. The first crew that installed it was good. They got here at 9:00 and stayed till 5:00. The second crew was one single guy to finish up but he never finished it. He ran out of molding. He tried putting caulking in it, but he said, "Can you finish this up?" I said, "No." The way the walls meet on the corner of the tub is not straight either. It looks cheap.

    I didn't like the price of Independent Home. They're overpriced. Also, the rep told us it'd be a one day installation but it took them three days and the installers weren't professionals. They didn't know much English. They also put the wrong caulking around the tub. But Brian was good. He was right there with them. Then his brother came out, finished the floor and redid the caulking. Another thing, too, when I got in the tub, I ran out of hot water. Brian turned the hot water heater up for me and he said if anything ever goes wrong with the tub he would fix it.

    I was looking around and trying to compare the different tubs, cost and services, and then, I got a call from Independent Home and they said they could come out and make a presentation of their tub. The sales rep was really nice, very straightforward, and not high pressure. He said the price that we agreed on was only good for that day, and I said, "Well, too bad. I've gotta do some comparisons and some checking." He said, "That's okay." Then, I called him back on Monday and said, "I'd like to maybe go ahead with this." It was all fine. The installation was good and quick. The people that did it were clean and efficient. It was a little surprising because I was sure they were gonna have to make the door opening bigger, but they didn't. They cleaned up after themselves. They were in at 8:00 and out by 4:00.

    I only have one complaint, and I think they're going to try to fix it, and that is, the tub has a lot of features, but their print out on the various buttons and levers is really limited. For instance, I have no idea how to get the aromatherapy to work. I called the company. They're really responsive. They said they would send me an updated brochure on that tub. As far as the tub's functioning and all the different things, eventually, I could figure it all out, but I'd rather not get sprayed in the head by the showerhead until I figure out which position the lever has to be in to get sprayer.

    I judge a company not just by how good their product is, but how well they respond to problems, and Independent Home has been excellent. So far, I'm very happy with everything. The only thing I asked them about that doesn't seem right are the air jets. They seem to blow in cold air, which is just gonna cool off the water. They're now looking into that to see why that might be or if it's supposed to be.

The installation went very well. They got here a little after 8:00 and went straight to work. They put cloth down on the floor and the area that they would be working in. They went to lunch then came right back. It was 4:00 when they were finished. They swept up any debris that was on the floor after they put the tub in. We thought the tub was gonna be bigger but it isn't because of how big our bathroom is. Other than that, we're very happy with it. I've already talked to my daughter about getting one.

    The aggressive sales pitch promised, among other things, in-house installation. However, installation was done by a single third-party contractor who could barely move the tub about (tubs are heavy). He failed to correctly install the drain, and the tub was always left with standing water - a difficult situation when the door needs to open to leave the tub. We repeatedly attempted to reach the company but never got a call back. After repeated attempts and many weeks, the drain was never fixed. The tub itself was okay, but dimensions for the doorway were never disclosed and a heavier person cannot easily get into or out of the (14") door.

    We got a shower-tub combo from Independent Home and it's the top-of-the-line. It's got everything except music. The installation went very smoothly and the guy who came out was very experienced. He did a fantastic job and I'm pretty hard to please. It took two days but it would have been just one day except somehow, between the sales and whoever shipped the tub, they didn't get the memo that we didn't want the shower feature for a couple of reasons. One, my aunt does not do showers, so it's not needed. She’s a clean freak too and she didn't want to be looking at that piping going up. Equally as big as that is when you get the shower attachment on there, the handheld wand is not the same. Then, it attaches to that shower piping apparatus and the hose off of the handheld wand just swings down into the tub in view all the time.

    Instead of that, we wanted the retractable base where the hose is hidden. So, when the tub was delivered and it came with the shower apparatus and not the retractable hose, I told the installer that they sent the wrong one. He told me that he got what we wanted at his home and that we had to turn the installation into a two-day thing because he had to get the one in his house and bring it the next day. He said he wouldn't have his helper that day but he'd get done what he needed to do without him that day. So, he took care of it and I couldn't ask for any better handling of this issue.

    He even said that if I didn't see that, there was no way to fix it except to de-install the tub. So, he was very glad I saw it and I want to commend him on his professionalism because 95% of guys out there doing that same job would have not been happy that I found the problem. Other than that, the walk-in seems like a quality piece and I don't really anticipate having problems.

The rep said he was gonna have somebody come out and fix it. Also, I'm having a little bit of an issue with the water being cold. It's never warm enough in the very beginning. So I was very disappointed with that because I usually can take a nice shower, but now, it's kind of cold shower. But the tub itself is very nice, except there are some issues that I gotta talk to Independent about. You push the jets off, and then a half hour later, I'm in another room and I hear this sound. I had to come in and hold that button.

    I liked the presentation that Independent Home made as well as the price. The representative was thorough in asking me a lot of questions about my health and the size to make sure that the specific tub was a good fit for me. The walk-in tub has a heated seat, the whirlpool jets, air jets and water jets. It’s got a wave function and the ozonator cleaning system. It's got an in-line heater to keep it warm while you're running. It also has chromotherapy and the aromatherapy has little drop-in canisters that you put in. They gave us two canisters to start. I would like to get a headrest pillow type for the back though. The interaction with the installers was fairly well. One of them was in a hurry, so he wasn't gonna put in one of the pony walls and the backsplash. I had to slow him down and get him to do what was agreed to, originally. We had the back shelf and we had to talk to him about that. The quality is great.

    I got the Dignity and the rep called it their top-of-the-line but we couldn't find that particular model on Independent Home’s website. We were originally a little concerned about that. We called the customer service and had them send us some information. We're still looking for some type of manual that shows us what all the buttons are for. There's one knob that we're not sure about.

    Their salesman did some measuring and told us what was involved. I told him at the time that I gotta call some other companies too. I called Safe Step and Kohler but their products didn't have the features that Independent Home's product had. Independent Home also beat them as far as the price goes. I got the Dignity model and it has two massagers up high that massage my shoulders. It has 10 jets on it and an air bubbler that puts microbubbles into the air. The microbubbler has all these teeny-tiny little bubbles that get in there and it's like my water is bubbling in effervescent.

    The tub also has a heated back and seat too so if I get in it and I'm waiting for it to fill up, I don't get cold. It has a good-looking design with a lot of different levers and buttons to push. It also has lights that change colors and I can set those for whatever color I want. Plus, it has a wave action. When I turn on the microbubbler and the water jets, it creates quite a whirlpool.

    The tub also has a lifetime warranty on all of the parts. They installed my tub yesterday. Two installers came and they used straps and took it up two flights of stairs. They had to run down to Home Depot and pick up a few trim things to complete the installation. Then we had to wait 24 hours for the caulking to dry. They leveled it out and did a really good job. They cleaned up really well afterwards. All the way around, it was a good experience. I was feeling kind of achy and I got in it. It's nice and really comfortable. I love the tub. Everything works as it should.

    In the beginning, our experience with Independent Home was not so good. But they took care of everything and worked with us. At first, we had to change the days of the installers coming a few times. But when they came, they came a little bit late. And the guys that came, came from a long distance. When they first got here, they were starving because they were on a long trip to get here, so they needed food. But still, they did their work and they were very happy. Those guys were great. But they were tired and they left us with a big mess. My husband and I cleaned it all up, and they gave us money back from what we paid to cover the work that we had to do.

    Then we had some issues because we didn't really know how to use the tub. But a guy came out today, showed us everything, and everything is good. Before he came out, we used the tub a couple times. But since we didn't really know what all the buttons were for, we didn't really enjoy it. Other than that, the price was high, but compared to other companies, it was better.

    We looked at the different products that the different tubs used and it looked like Independent Home had the best base product. They also seemed to have good service response. And they had some nice features in their tub. The rep was on time, which is always good. She had some good visuals and she talked about the different parts of the tub, which we were interested in. And when we started looking at cost, she was able to come up with a good package for us.

    The first part of the installation was the demolition, and that went well. But the installer had to leave. That was when things got dicey. He was supposed to come back in a couple of days and things kept happening. So, I called the service people and they found another installer. They told us that installer ended up not working for the company anymore. So, it took almost two weeks for them to find somebody and get them back over to install the tub.

    There were two of them, which they always needed was two. They were very clean. They got it done quickly. The first gentleman was supposed to have two, but he only had himself. That was part of the issue. Also, they put everything together correctly. They showed us how to work the tub and ran us through it a couple of times. I'm very happy with the final product. It was a good move. The tub is sturdy, and very easy to operate and clean. The seating is good. There's a handheld, a rain shower and a tub fill. The tub fills and empties quickly. The jets are not as strong as I thought they would be, but they're still okay.

    The Independent Home rep was very nice and helpful. She took measurements to determine what size tub we could put in there. She also checked the water heater to make sure that it would have enough hot water. The installers were also very polite. When they left, the tub was usable. But, I'm not so sure it was good to go as soon as they left, because my son noticed that we were getting some knocking noises when we turned the water on. He said that could be a sign of loose pipes or the wrong size pipe. He does construction work. I was going to ask the firm if they could send somebody out to check the installation of the pipes and make sure that everything is tight and put together correctly. But I had a stroke and I had difficulty getting into tubs. Now, I can get into it without too much difficulty. It has jets and it has grab bars. It's nice to be able to sit in the tub again. The price was also a lot lower than what I've been quoted elsewhere.

    I had other companies come over and I didn't like their salesman. They're too pushy. Our neighbor said they got a walk-in tub from Independent Home and I said, "Well, give me the name." I called her and she came out and she was not pushy at all. She was very friendly, a great salesman, and we got the product at a good price. The installation was great. They got it done in one day. They explained everything to me and they filled the tub up for me and showed me how to do all the buttons. They told me to give them a call if I had any questions. It was so smooth.

    They told me to wait a couple of days because the sealant had to cure. So, on the third day, I got in it, filled the tub up, and it was like, "Take me away." It was so nice.     The agent that came from Independent Home was persuasive. She had information but did not have a correct picture of the tub so I did not know what the tub was like. I'm 89 years old and stepping up and moving around in that step-in tub is not the way I expected. I paid a lot of money for it but it's not what I wanted. You don't see the tub until it's installed. That was when I could see how high the step-in is and how small the foot space in the tub is. When you're in there, you don't have a lot of room to move around.     It was almost $15,000 cheaper through Independent Home for the exact same tub with another company and when we found out that Independent Home manufactured the tubs that they sold, that was the tipping point. The tub we bought from them perfectly fits our very small bathroom. My husband's a big guy and he's loving it. It has the hydrotherapy system with two-speed therapeutic air jets. It has an aromatherapy you can add, but we decided we weren't going to do that. It's oversized, with a two-inch drain, and has a grab bar, chrome, Roman faucet, handles, and extendable hand round shower. We got slip resistant flooring, too. We have the soft touch controls and this thing automatically has a five-minute drying cycle after you've used the jets and you've drained the tub. So it blows out all that excess water and doesn't clog up with build-up from your water. Here in Arizona, our water is very hard, so that's a nice feature.

    The tub has a maintenance-free gel coat interior, the double door seal, and the five-inch threshold step. We have an 18-inch wide door and an ADA compliant 17-inch contoured seat. I'm a really small person and I float off that seat when the water gets to a certain point. We also have the adjustable wall mount and shower thing. So the shower mounts in the tub itself, but I can pull the shower out and mount it to a bar, so I can just walk in and do a stand-up shower. Or I can sit down and do it.

    The installation was pretty quick and we were surprised because my house is 50 years old, so we're not a standard size anywhere in my whole house. It's a round house too, to boot. So, the installers took out the old shower, carried everything out through my patio door in my bedroom, and nothing ever went through my main living area. They only had one little glitch when something had disconnected and the water just poured out. But they jumped right on, got it all cleaned up, and cleared everything away. They did all that, from start to finish, in four hours and the quality of the work was really good. But I've seen a couple of areas where the caulking has not solidified, so I'm going to to some patch-up work. Other than that, it's really beautiful. Plus, it's easier to maintain than the last shower I had in here.

    Over Labor Day weekend, I had taken a nice soaking bath in the tub, then my husband got in and did the jets. For some reason, he kept pushing the button and it did another 45 minute thing. The water was out of the tub by then and it said "Do not run the jets without the water." So I was freaking out and I called Independent Home. I left messages on two different systems, one for their local office and the other in their New York office. Since it was the weekend, nobody was available but somebody from their local office called us back, walked us through it, and got it to turn off. Then on Tuesday after Labor Day, we were really impressed that their main headquarters place called us immediately. We also enjoyed the gentleman who came. All in all, we're really happy with our walk-in tub because it guarantees that we can stay in our home for the rest of our lives.

    Independent Home called and had the best price. But the installation has been terrible. The hot water wasn't working for two weeks. I couldn't use the tub. I finally got ahold of my salesperson who came out immediately and got it taken care of. He's been right at the top. The valve was installed wrong. He had to call a private plumber out to fix it. But I'm getting ready to call him now because one of the panels is falling off next to the door. They've come out fast for everything I've asked them to do. But there should be some compensation for not being able to use the tub when I paid this much money.

    I got the tub from Independent Home and the quality seems good. But I wasn't the happiest with the door. They had to give me a different door because the door to my bathroom wasn't wide enough for a walker to go in. They didn't do the best job with adding a little bit of a wood here and there for the trims. But other than that, it's okay.

    We told the salesman that we didn't want a textured backsplash. We wanted a smooth one and they said it was fine. We never saw it until they were done and ready for us to sign that it was done. I kept calling them and told them that we were supposed to have the smooth one. They ended up saying, "Well, to do that. It would cost you another $1,000.” I'm not spending another 1,000 for something smooth. So we still have the textured backsplash. It's hard to clean.     The representative that came to our house was really great. She was very efficient. She recommended a bathtub that has aromatherapy and lights that changed the color of the water. It also has an air spray, a water spray and a shower, and it's much cheaper than a side step-in. The installers were wonderful too. They were very quick, knowledgeable, cleaned up their messes afterwards (not that they made that many) and put the furniture back in the bathroom. It's a very small bathroom. I like the bathtub. She knew what we needed and what we didn't need. The installers were also really good. They had the demolition done and the new thing in four hours. But they could have cleaned up a little bit more around where they were working. We had a kick plate at the door. We had them leave some of the trimmings off the door. And took the door with them because we're going to put a handicap door in there where the door that they took out in that room is. And they didn't clean up the stone particles out of the grout.     The rep seemed to be pleasant and respectful. The rep represented Independent Home's tub well. She went over everything. She told us all the good stuff about it. It was fast and easy. The price is in the range that I would expect it to be. And the installers were good. The only thing that was miscommunicated was the fact that we didn't have an electrical outlet where they needed to access it. So, it took two days to install instead of one. The installers were able to go through the bedroom. Our house is laid out oddly. They were able to go through the closet behind the tub and go through into the bedroom plug into that outlet.

    The only other issue I had was I was not aware that they would put up a bar above the tub it put eight more holes in my tile, which I was not happy about. And they didn't plug up the holes from the shower door that they removed. The reason that they forgot to do that was because of how long it took to install it. But they worked their butts off when they were here. They were very nice. Everything went well. My mom used the tub several times and she loves it. She enjoys it when she's in there. It's nice to have the jets.

    I was very impressed with the people that installed the tub. They didn't do a few things that I thought they should do, but they're minor. They had to take the door case off, and when they put it back, some of the paint had peeled off or chipped off. They couldn't do anything because they put caulk there and paint is not gonna go over that. But it's not bad. They did an outstanding job. The installer was very efficient in what he did. He had to do everything so it really slowed him down. But if I had anything else to do with my house, I would call him. I really liked him.

    I have used the tub once or twice but I don't like sitting in cold or lukewarm water. I have sat in it and took a shower but I'm unable to use it and that's been frustrating. My water heater is not big enough. I got the 199,000 BTU tankless water heater set right there on the outside wall from the tub, and then the plumber will just backflow everything through the house and it has a circulating pump so it shouldn't cause me any problems. It's an added expense that I didn't wanna do.

    The Independent Home sales rep, Eric, was very nice. I liked his knowledge of the walk-in tub and what it did. He explained everything and we watched a video about it. So he was really thorough. For the installation, two people came out and it didn't take them a very long time. But our door was so narrow, so they had to take it down to get their stuff in. But they didn't put the door back because it wasn't their job and I didn't like that. My husband agreed with them on that because it was going to be an additional cost, but I don't care whether there was an extra charge or not. Also, we're paying 12,000 for that tub yet we couldn't get a correct door up there. And where is the senior discount? After the installation, the installers went through everything and showed us how to do stuff. But you don't remember everything when they first show you.

    We bought the deluxe package with the shower and everything on it. It has the light in the tub, it's got the jets, and the aromatherapy. And it's got the showerhead up on top, then it's got a little shower thing that you rinse off with. The only problem was that they needed to call an electrician to hook up the jets as they were not able to run the electric themselves. So, it ended up taking a month for the project to be finished and we were disappointed about that. Also, the head of the installation crew didn't communicate. I texted and called him. I then called Independent Home corporate office and they said they would try to get ahold of him. They weren't able to get ahold of him.     Our Independent Home sales woman told us several things that were blatantly false. She bragged about the heated air jets, making them sound so much better than their competition. But they blow cold, always, and are not impressive. I paid an extra $500 for "Micro Bubbles" which are supposedly good for eczema. I see no difference between the bubbles coming out of this tub and any other air blowing system. But ultimately I will never really know if they help because the tub is simply too big, and takes far too long to fill. She bragged about that too, about how big it is. She told us that our 50 gallon water heater would be fine. And both my wife and I THOUGHT she sold us a booster just in case.

    It takes sixteen minutes to fill the tub as full as we can get it before our hot water runs out. That is after a big hassle with the company and then paying extra to add higher power heating elements for our water heater and a mixer. They never even explained that the mixer would not help unless I set the thermostats to a much higher temperature. But the only way to get more hot water is to mix cold water with super hot water. Setting the temperature high like that shortens the life of our water heater, and still doesn't quite provide as much hot water as we would like.

    But all of that is just annoying. What has me feeling like I might has well been scammed out of my money is that my wife who used to take bathes daily, if not multiple times a day, now only uses this tub as a shower. She might actually fill it once a week, or two. I don't use it as anything other than a shower either. But I bought a tub so she could safely use it as therapy for her arthritis. It was getting difficult and dangerous for her to get in and out of our tub. I might as well have bought a cheap walk-in shower and saved myself ten thousand dollars. My advice to anyone thinking about a walk in tub is simply this: Get as small of a tub as you can tolerate. It will fill faster, use less hot water, and be something that you will enjoy frequently. I don't think Independent Home is going to offer that choice, therefore you should look elsewhere.

    I was having difficulty getting out of my regular Jacuzzi. The sales rep from Independent Home was very good and I was very pleased with him. He seemed to give me a decent price compared to other places that I checked. The installers were very good too. I like the hydroair button of the tub that puts oxygen into the water. I also like the colors that change and I like the wave. It gives me some Jacuzzi relief without flashing all over.

    But I need to get in touch with Independent Home as there are a few things that aren't working correctly. The Jacuzzi is almost impossible to use because no matter what, it splashes all over outside the tub. The wave I used seems to be less and still more of a Jacuzzi but I don't get some of the through the foot nozzle, which I used to but for some reason, it's not doing it now. There's also a control on top of the side of the tub. It's a stainless control that's not on the information leaflet and it goes 180 degrees and it doesn't seem to do anything. As far as the button that has the arrow up and down on it, it doesn't seem to work either.

    The installers did a good job and the work was an all-day deal. The only thing is the tub uses too much hot water. I can't fill it up and get my back massage because I run out of hot water before it gets that full. I can only fill it up to my knees. They took my old showerhead and put a new one on and the pressure is about half of what the one I had before. I'd like to get my old showerhead back. Also, one of the safety bars is not where I really would like it. That aside, I would recommend Independent Home.

    Ava had a video and she was explaining what Independent Home and the other ones did in comparison. She did a good job and we decided to get the walk-in tub while she was here. The first guy got here at 10 after 7:00 and another guy came about 20 minutes later. They took the doorframe off of the bathroom, got the other tub out and then brought the Independent Home walk-in tub in. They did all the work, tested it and explained it to us. They were out of here by 1:30.

    A guy called me and I told him the only thing I wasn't happy with is the water only heats halfway through and then all of a sudden, it changes to cold. So it's not as hot as my Jacuzzi tub. We talked about our water heater because Ava looked at it too and said it was great. He said that maybe we need to have a plumber come out and see if the water could be turned up. I just haven't felt like spending the money to do that yet. The water heater is only three years old and I showed the guy that, and AVA took pictures, too, so I felt comfortable with that. Maybe I should call Independent Home back and they could send somebody out. I’d love it if the water was hotter. I'd recommend everything until I get this water thing’s results or I’m not going to be happy.

    Awful company. Had an appointment scheduled and confirmed twice, last time a day before the appointment, which has been moved 30 minutes later Nobody showed up, nobody called. nothing.     When I get into the tub, there is a lever that I have to paddle and the arthritis in my hands and arms creates a problem for that. It's a struggle when I get it as well as when I get out. But that's not Independent Home’s fault. The tub is nice and I like that I can push this little lever and I have hot water. Move over, then I got cold water.     The installation of my Independent Home tub was good. However, the plumber had the water pipes underneath the drain, which should have been the other way around. I had somebody come to fix that. I had mentioned that to one of the guys who wanted to know what was the one thing that they did that they could have done better. The tub is also a lot taller than what I had expected, which meant I had to get another hot water heater. But it's good. I did the hydro jets and the bubbles and my body felt energized when I got out. The bubbles have a motor, and then the hydro jets have another motor. So, you're running two motors and it's powerful.

    I have tile and it's still in good condition, so they didn't remove unnecessarily any of it during the installation. They worked with it, put the tub in, and fit it into the tile that was already there. They worked fast and did a neat job. It looks pretty good. What I like about the walk-in tub is it fits me just right. I use it once in a while as far as all the air and the water agitation, which is why I got it originally. I could use a massage a little bit. But the tub takes so long to fill up. I like to use it as a shower.

    The Independent Home installers were supposed to be here, but they didn't show up. They called and said they were gonna be here, then they were late, but that was okay. When they put the frame back on the door, they ripped a bit of the wallpaper. Other than that, they did a good job and I like the walk-in bathtub. I use it three times a week. I don't use it every night because it takes a lot of water. Also, it doesn't seem to keep the water hot while you're in there and I need some of the fragrance refill. However, I gave my pamphlet away because some friends of ours came down and were interested.

    The installation is still kind of happening because there was some damage done. They got the tub in somehow backwards so they had to turn it around. I have a very small bathroom and as a result, there was damage done to the one wall and they broke my vanity. But they were very good about it. The told me and apologized. They had planned on going to Home Depot and getting a replacement but they didn't have what I ordered so they had to place an order with Home Depot. The installer is coming by on Friday to finish that. Other than that, it was fine.

    I love the tub. I feel much safer and it's very relaxing. But it was sold to me and it was in my contract that they were gonna do this quick drain. That was one of my concerns. I had gotten a lot of feedback from people who had walk-in tubs about the time it took to drain. Independent Home told me it's not an issue anymore because they have these quick drains and it drains in 90 seconds. My tub has the button that you push on it to have that, but it was never hooked up.

    The installer said that that wasn't what he was hired to do and that it would require him to replace all of the piping. It's a much bigger project if that were to occur and they weren't paid to do that. He even said to me that this is kind of an ongoing issue with the installers, where they get there and something was sold, but that wasn't what installers were hired to do.

    I tried to talk with the people at the office and as a result, they sent me back $500 for the pipe issue. It would cost me a lot more than $500 to install it and I tried initially to tell them about this issue. I felt like the people at the office who I spoke with were like it's not a big deal. I appreciate the $500 compensation but at the end of the day, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when I'm told something will happen and it doesn't. The salesperson, the installer, and the head office were all on different pages. But I don't regret buying the tub and I would recommend Independent Home. The cost was significantly less than the other bids from other companies and the actual tub itself is wonderful.

    A neighbor of mine had a tub put in through Independent Home and I saw it and I could tell it was good quality, and the price they had paid for it was a good price. I got the same tub that my neighbor had gotten. It has all the features I was looking for. The representative came and measured and looked at the tub that was being replaced. He said that he would give me the same price as he had given the people where I saw the tub the first time. It was all handled very well. There was no high pressure but a good job of explaining everything. I paid a deposit and I paid the balance to the installers when they came to install a few weeks later. They were scheduled so I knew they would be there. They came on time and were very courteous and careful with what they did. They did not leave a mess and did a very nice job of installing and finishing the tub.

    The tub is very high quality. I’ve not run into anything in the design or controls that are not user-friendly. It is a walk-in and has a heated seat in the back. It has air jets rather than water jets. It has the handheld shower plus an overhead rain shower. So, it's the shower-tub combination. It's got where the normal pipes are that you would fill the tub and the handheld showerhead. And from that, it's a rainfall showerhead. They added a shower curtain to match the tub. So, if I wanted to use it just as a shower, I could.

    I'm loving the walk-in bathtub but I had a problem before where the water wasn't getting hot enough. I was trying to get in touch with one of the guys. Then, I talked to a rep on the fourth day and I told her that if they don't get in touch with me by the next day, I would get a lawyer.     I went with three different companies and Independent Home offered the best deal. The sales representative was good. He was friendly and he explained things. The installers took a good day. They were gonna carry the tub down the hall but when they got here, they said they couldn't get it down the hall. They had to go in there in my laundry room and take out the wall that was right there between there and the bathroom and slide the tub in that way. They did a good job putting the wall back and everything back. The model that was put in has fewer jets in it. Other than that, I'm really enjoying the tub. I like that I can walk in it and sit down and don't have to climb over the edge of the tub to get in. This is gonna help me a lot with taking baths. I'm completely satisfied with it.

    Independent Home called me and the salesman sounded so positive and decent. He just asked if he could come to my house and show me their tub. I said yes because I was interested in getting a step-in tub. And I knew that they were expensive, but I haven't gone around looking for them. He set a date. The reps were on time, came out, and were very cordial. And it sounded like such a good deal that I went with it. Four people installed the tub, made sure it ran all right and showed me how to run it. They came at nine o'clock and they were out of here at around 5:00. They were clean, and they cleaned up after themselves. They took out the trash that they had made, and cleaned up well. The one guy was so nice. He was so nice that I liked him so much.

    However, I didn't realize it takes so long to fill the tub. It takes at least 20 minutes. And I find that I don't like the way the door is on the step-in. That the way it's made. They got it wide at the top of the door and they have it go small where you step into it. And when you have the door open and get into it, and close that door, you gotta wiggle around that door in order to get the door closed. Other than that, I love sitting in it once it's filled up, and it empties out fast. It has made my feet much better. Just getting a tub of water and that water is nice and warm, and you just sit there and let it fill.

So, I went ahead and took it. However, I've never received my bill. I can't do paperless or electronic. I gotta have paper. And we're very happy that we went ahead and made the jump, because my wife is unable to get in and out of a tub without help. Plus, all the bells and whistles, and the bubbles and jets. If you wanna do your hair in the tub, that little hose thing is great. So, we're glad we got it.

    The guys who came in and installed the tub were fantastic. They came in and out. They were done in one day. Everything is sealed up. They put in big drains.     The sales rep was really nice. We set up a time for the installation so both my husband and I were there, and he was really nice in talking to us. It was such a fast process. We met with him for a couple of hours. He measured our bathroom and then we did the application, got approved, and it was not even two weeks later when they were installing the tub. It was incredibly quick.

    The installation was absolutely amazing. There were two gentlemen and I was a little worried because they were both in their 70s. I did not know how they were gonna get that tub in. They removed the old tub and got it ready to bring the new tub in. From the very beginning, they laid painter’s cloth from my front door all the way into the bathroom so nothing got on the carpet. It was a porcelain tub so they had to kind of break it. It took about nine hours for them to do it, which they did let me know that it would be about around that period of time. But they got everything done. When they asked us to look it over, you couldn't even tell that they had done anything. The new tub was in but they cleaned up the whole mess. They left the cloth down, and as they walked, they pulled up the cloth, so that way, they didn't even walk on the carpet except for the first time. They were extremely nice.

    I love the lights. My grandson also loves it and he thinks it's awesome. The jets work. We've had the tub since the beginning of July, and we have not had an issue with it. My dad said he is not worried about taking a shower now. The peace of mind that if my dad is in there and that he is not gonna get hurt, it definitely 100% makes the cost of the tub absolutely worth it.

    The whole process with Independent Home was flawless. There was one part that didn't get on the installer's truck. But the installer told us about that. It was the little part where the shower slides up and down, where you could put the handheld in for the shower. He brought it the next day. It took him 10 minutes from the time he got here to the time he left. Everything they told us was exactly what we got, down to the very last thing. So it's been amazing. The application process was effortless. It was really good.

    The Independent Home tub is very nice. It would be nice too if you were able to get into the tub after it was already filled, but it's cold. The massage is good though. I have fibromyalgia and neuropathy in my legs. The restless leg is one of the worst things and the neuropathy. Both of them together is almost unbearable. So, I've been pleading with my husband to let us get the walk-in but it's so expensive. We decided we'd give up something else maybe, and do it. And since we got it, I don't have the episodes as frequently. When I do, I jump in the tub and it soothes the ill. The episodes of extreme pain has slowed down and even the restless leg. Life is a little better.

    The Independent Home representative that came out was very helpful and knowledgeable. He did some measurements. It was a pleasant experience. The installers said they would be here between 9:00 and 9:30. I had to run out and do an errand beforehand and they were here when I got back. They pulled up 20 seconds before I did. They brought everything in and they set everything up. They had to take apart the door to get the tub in then they put the door back together. They showed me how to use the tub and they cleaned up after themselves. The quality of work that they did for the tub is A+.

    The only thing is when they went up into my attic, none of my outlets on the outside of my house worked anymore. Somebody called me on Tuesday and I mentioned that when the installers left and they checked the breaker box, they did not go back up in the attic to see if maybe a foot got caught on the wire and disconnected something. The lights were working the night before. I turn those on every night and they did not work the night that the tub was installed.

    I got the tub with eight blowers and there are 30 air holes. I got the aromatherapy, the showerhead, and the shower wand. The installers put up a shower curtain, which I was totally surprised with. That was a nice added feature. The only thing is I am a larger woman and it is hard to get in and maneuver around to shut the door of the tub. I step up on the step then close the door then step down and shut it. If I was to do this again, I probably would not get thetub just because my legs are long so it's an awkward position for me to sit in when I get in. Also, I wish there was a little shelf that you could pull out just a little bit. Other than that, I love the tub and I have figured out a way to enjoy it. I will make it work for me.

    The installation of our tub went fine. But I asked for a schematic of how the thing operates - the connections and all that sort of thing. I never got it. It would be good to make the schematic readily available. My electrician had a question. They brought one wire over to the panel and did not connect it because I told them not to. The house is still under construction. We didn't know if it was 120 or 240 volts.

    The schematic may be inside the tub under the panels. I found the folder they had but that doesn't have anything like the schematic in it. It just tells you, “The first time you turn it on, turn this on or turn that on.” That's fine but a schematic would be better to have. Even if people don't use it, Independent Living should provide it. Other than the schematic, Independent Living has been very good to work with.

    Independent Home was considerably less expensive compared to Safe Step. The Independent Home rep was very assured about his product. He was telling us that they were the manufacturers of the tub and that other companies like Safe Step used their tub. He misled us a little about how long it was going to take for the tub to be installed. The installer was quite good and I was a little surprised as he did the installation all by himself. It took four days but it was not due to him being not capable of it. It was that he had to do more work to get it in the space because the cement on the floor wasn't perfect for what he needed.

    We are a little bit disappointed in the actual tub itself. My husband would like to soak in it and it doesn't cover his body, from the seat to the top of the tub. He's taller. For me, it's fine. I'm shorter. Also, the water doesn't get hot enough. I have a shower upstairs and it gets plenty hot up there. But it does not get to that same heat level in the tub. The sales rep did not check the water heater and we told him it probably was because the tub that was being replaced was a large, jetted tub. We bought a new hot water heater before when we put the jetted tub in. We assumed that the hot water heater would be large enough for the new Independent Home tub. Overall, the tub isn't perfect. My husband said that perhaps our expectations were a little too high for what the tub was going to be.

    Bottom line don't buy this tub. Installation is so bad, leaks, not done correctly and no response from Independent Home only to tell me for 3 1/2 months they haven't forgotten me they are trying to schedule. They knew the problems before the installer left day it was put in.

    We like our walk-in tub very well. I was the one that had a little experience with this. I had to take some major chemo a couple of years ago. I got very weak and I got in the bathtub a couple of times. I managed to get out on my own. I realized how easily I could get stuck in that tub and not be able to get out and that was very concerning. We've been telling our friends about our walk-in tub because we have another friend that lived a mile away who got stuck in the bathtub for eight hours overnight.

    A lady came out and she explained everything. Independent Home's policy was nice so I liked that. The installation was clean. The team was nice to talk to. I let the tub set for three days before I got in. Once I got in, I liked it. They're good on my knees. I’m satisfied.     The installation team came in 8:30 in the morning and they were done by 3 o'clock. They did great, and I love the tub. It cost more than I thought it was going to, but it's doing what I want it to do, so everything’s good. The reps also told me, “If you have a 40-gallon water heater, it's not gonna be enough,” so I had to get a new water heater, which is coming Friday.

    Independent Home was the first one that called me. Their sales reps were very good. Everything went well except the installation got delayed twice. The first time, it got delayed a week because they shipped the wrong tub. The second time, I don't know why it got delayed, but it took a few days. The installers were also very good and they did the installation pretty fast. I love my new tub except for the fact that I freeze while it's filling up. My husband says he wishes there was a heater in there to keep the water warm.

    I was looking for a tub because of the situation that my husband and I are both in. Someone called me from Independent Home, and they came out and talked to me. We knew we needed it and the person that I talked to was not pushy. We've got the one with all the bells and whistles with chromotherapy and aromatherapy. As far as the installation, I got a call from the installers that they were on the way, and they should be here in about an hour. When they got here, they called me to let me know they were outside and they were setting up. They came in to look around to see the path that they have to go through into the house first, and then they went back down.

    They unpacked the tub, and they were off. A couple of the guys were carrying things on the inside after they dropped it off and everything down. They brought me outside with the tub turned out there. I got into the tub outside the house and we looked through it. They showed me how to use it and asked me a couple of questions before he asked me if I was okay with it. I was like, “Yes,” and they proceeded to install it. They were finished in about seven hours. They did a really A1 job.

    I love the features of the tub. It’s an awesome thing to have. It's made our lives a lot easier. My husband's a cancer patient. At the moment, he's been so weak and I couldn't get him out of the tub. Our new tub has made such a difference in our lives just to be able to get in it and relax. My husband loves it. I'm so in love with the jets. I have a lot of problems with my back, and now, I don't need as many pain pills. I get in here, turn on the jets in the tub, and I just don't need the pain pills because they've relaxed my muscles for me. It works. It makes such a big difference.

    The man that came out here to introduce me to the tub is a true godsend. He's a very polite man and I would do business with him again if it comes down to it. Also, the workers are very good. They got their business done and they were out. They took me in there and showed me how to work the tub. The tub is amazing. I'm able to sit down and do it all by myself, fill it up, make bubbles in it, and take the bubbles out of it. And it's made a whole lot of difference in my skin. Before, my skin would just peel off but now, I can go to my friend's house and not worry about leaving skin everywhere. My life has been impacted so much by this tub. The main thing is I can bathe myself. I can wash my own body off and I can sit there for as long as I want. I can get in and out all by myself.
