Being a first time new refrigerator purchaser we were so excited. Finally had saved enough to get the one we wanted. Unfortunately the home we were renting only had so much space for our fridge so we didn't have too many to choose from brand-wise. We did some searching and found that Best Buy had exactly what we all wanted. Side by side, ice maker, water dispenser, and the color. Two days later the fridge was delivered and we were told it would take 24 hours before we could put food in it. The whole purchasing/delivery went well, and a few weeks went by no troubles. Then it happened, my 12-year-old was getting crushed ice out of the ice maker and there were orange pieces in the glass. Husband took the bucket out of the freezer only to find rust EVERYWHERE, on the walls, the screws in the ice bucket. I was horrified.
Called customer service. Someone came out the next day, told us we had to empty the bucket once a month to make sure ice build up didn't occur? Really? Never heard of such a thing. Ok so a few weeks later after completely cleaning the freezer, removing the rust, so I thought, the ice maker jammed, so I took out the ice bucket and was disgusted with the amount of rust build-up as well as the frozen ice around the parts behind the ice bucket. I melted the ice and emptied the bucket, cleaned yet again all the rust thinking this would fix our problem. It didn't. Again called out the tech. Was a different guy this time. He said it happens and I would need to keep the ice from freezing up on the parts? What? You can't be serious? OH as for the rust, "it's cosmetic. It will happen," he said?
I owned my poor old used AMANA for 13 years. I never saw rust anywhere! OK, I thought if this is how it is going to be owning a ice making fridge then I would stay on top of it. Cleaning out the freezer twice a week is just beyond ridiculous in my opinion. Then again three months later it jammed again. Now I am thinking we got a lemon because I've done everything I was told, keeping it clear of ice twice a week, emptying the ice bucket once a week to make sure old ice didn't build up and it is jammed again. Called the tech out yet again and yet again a different guy. Finally he tells me it is a defective part. Great. Perfect. Let's just get this done. He came back two days later with the part and for a few months I didn't have any more problems except for the rusting, still having to clean it once a week...
Being a mother with 4 growing kiddos we don't have the money to spend on big appliances, and the frustration with this one has caused me to go back to my old fridge, which by the way still works great! I will never again buy a Frigidaire which is sad because my grandmother always had a Frigidaire fridge. My hope for this review is to hopefully stop someone else from making the mistake we made. We not only are out 1500 but this eyesore is still in our garage. Hubby has used it as a second fridge but as of last year the temperature gauge has stopped working so it doesn't keep anything cold. So now it is just sitting in our garage as a constant reminder to read reviews before buying something this expensive.
It also is worth mentioning that when speaking to someone at Frigidaire or trying to contact them about the situation I never received a response that was acceptable. They never acknowledged that there was ever anything wrong. In fact one time while explaining about the rust the man on the other end of the phone, forget his name now, I could actually hear in his voice he wasn't interested at all in my complaint like it happens all the time and he was sick of hearing it. Good luck. Hope my post helps.

The Ref will not cool evenly. Temp in top of ref. is 15 deg higher than in the bottom of ref. The food in the bottom of ref. freezes while to top is at 42 to 45 deg. The freezer side is OK. The unit is 4 months old. I have had 4 service reps (they are not factory trained technicians) come and look at unit. They have talked with the factory for several hours over the last month and left. I would like for Frigidaire to replace my unit with a working one but they will not do that. BEWARE of Frigidaire Warranty.

I purchased a new Frigidaire to replace one that I'd owned for 12 years. The first one was fine and I guess 12 years is fairly good these days. The new one was purchased in 2014 from Lowe's. It worked fine until April 2016, when the ice maker quit. No warranty of course, so I called a local appliance repair. The repairman knew immediately what the problem was, since the ice makers are notorious for failing due to a design flaw. He came out and replaced it as well as a module on the back of the unit. He said that he found if he didn't replace both items, it usually did not last. It's been OK for the last 3 months, but it has just started making a loud popping noise just before it dumps ice. It pops maybe 7 or 8 times and then dumps ice.
I have a feeling that it will fail again soon. If so, I will call the same repairman to see what can be done. This refrigerator was about $400 less than the one purchased in 2002, so I don't know if it is a price difference or that they are now making their products more cheaply. Either way, I am not happy with it and will not purchase another Frigidaire.

Bought this French Door Gallery in 2011. The refrigerator has been fine up to now. The Freezer door Rails have started rusting. Called Customer Service, they said they would be happy to order me new rails if I pay for them. Why not try cleaning them with Coke and Baking Soda. Why, Thank You! So buyer beware! Customer Service and Mexican made is not good.

Frigidaire Model FGHS2631PF3 Refrigerator. I have owned this refrigerator for less than two years. Today I open the freezer door and find the inside of freezer covered in frost. Frigidaire Customer Service tells me this is because the seals need to be replaced. Not even two years old - No children in household and not opened excessively. The good news is I am suppose to be able to install the magnetic seals without a repairman. The not so good news is the cost of the seals is $175 plus shipping.
A couple of months after purchase, the icemaker was spitting ice out uncontrollably, and after four months and five service calls, that problem was corrected. And fortunately, that problem was covered under the one year warranty. I admit I did not do any research before purchasing, but only because I thought Frigidaire had good products. Unfortunately this assumption was based on purchases made twenty years ago. Also, I did not buy the extended warranty. The lesson learned from this experience is to "Never Buy Frigidaire appliances", do extensive research, and carefully consider purchasing the extended warranty. Honestly, if I can justify the expense one day, the Frigidaire refrigerator will be hauled away as trash.

Purchased our fridge October, November 11th we are making our 1st of many calls because it stops cooling. Now into August it had stopped working. Have been 6 times. They won't replace it. We lost lost hundreds of dollars in food, time waiting for service people to come and go. It is ridiculous at this point. All the service calls and parts have well exceeded the price of the refrigerator. It makes no sense to keep this going. It is costing more money to keep coming out than it is to replace this "lemon".

We purchased my side by side, lower freezer unit four and a half years ago. It stopped working. I called the number on my manual told them the code /error. Waiting on the phone on hold for over twenty minutes and finally was told "it is the evaporator fan". I was also told that no repairman was near us. We drove two hours from Yacolt, Washington to Portland, Oregon to locate the nearest parts dealer as we could not wait (after all I had hundreds of dollars in food being ruined). We bought the part for $96.00. Sad to say it still did not work. We ordered another part online (electrical control board) still waiting for it. "Next Wednesday" they say.
We drove another two hundred miles and purchased a used refrigerator (ten years old and still working) to get us by. This is totally unacceptable. I have had a television set for twenty five years and tossed it even though it still worked. I have a digital coffeepot that is twelve years old. Our computer needs updates but still serves us well after eight years. Our lawn mower cost $150.00 and is still on the job after five years. ETC. How is this cost effective? It may be energy efficient but this fridge has cost us approx. $400.00 a year to own. I have every intention of publishing this letter on Yelp, our Community Forum news. I intend to send this to Home Depot and several other places. Shame on your company!!!

It is brand new Frigidaire Frost Free Class A upright fridge. It is not the first time someone has a fridge in this world but this one smells from the first day in the freezer section even if you turn temperature up or down. It smells when your fridge is off for long or you're defrosting your fridge and left stuff inside. I checked myself taking drawers off the cooling and the air was coming absolutely fine. We can't put bread or anything. It just smells. Can some know how to remove or solve this issue please. Thank you.

My wife & I bought Frigidaire Gallery appliances for our kitchen, from Lowe's. The fridge, model FGHS2355PF5A has been the only problem, so far!! We have had them for less than 2 yrs. We agree with others that a one year warranty on a major appliance is inadequate! We expected better from a large player in the appliance market! Extended warranties are normally a waste of money as they don't cover every repair. While it was under warranty, our first problem was the numerous noises this fridge made. A tech was dispatched in a somewhat reasonable amount of time & he did his best to correct the problem, telling us that all new fridges are noisy due to EPA standards. It was a little quieter.
Our next problem came when we used the door water dispenser (after warranty had expired). Water came flowing out from under the fridge! I checked the water supply line, that I had installed, & it was okay. Called Electrolux. They had NO knowledge of anybody else having this problem. Asked me if the drain pan was overflowing. Asked them why, when I use the water dispenser, water would go into the drain pan. No answer! Suggested I call a repairman. Am not using their recommended company. Called a local company. We'll see if they can fix it. Electrolux has a phone survey that I completed, giving them low marks in everything. Suggest everyone do the same!!!! Customer service seems to be predicated on the theory that, you bought this stuff, deal with it!! They don't seem to care about repeat customers! Lowe's should stop selling this brand!!!

All of the meat in the freezer thawed and I have lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. I contacted Frigidaire customer service and asked for compensation for the food lost based on the fact that the darn fridge is only 1 month old! They told me I was out of luck, that the warranty states they don't compensate for food lost. Well no wonder they don't, they'd be losing money on all of the food they have to replace. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU WILL BE SORRY!

Smells next day after washing dishes. Refrigerator doors will not close unless you make a conscious effort to shut them.
I had Frigidaire gallery for 20 years before. Never had a problem. Frigidaire customer service told me "they don't build them like they use to". Another told me to just leave my dishwasher door open all the time. It is a self closer so I have to leave it open completely to comply then I can't walk through my kitchen. REALLY? REALLY? Omg. So our family purchased a home and got our first new appliances at Lowe's. We bought a Frigidaire French door fridge with water and ice maker. Paid $800 for it! Huge amount of money for our family living on one income with 4 children. Within less than 6 months we hear beeping. The temperature controls go to H1 and start to defrosted everything! So we attempt contact Frigidaire. They send local repairman. They replace thermostat. 2 weeks later happens again - one month later again - couple months later again! You get the idea.
On one income with 4 kids I spend $200 a week on groceries. In one year of ownership of this piece of crap I have had almost $1,000 in food defrosted!!! Frigidaire sent us a note stating from 6/16/2016-9/16/2016 they will extend our service warranty on them to cover repairs (since my one year was up and I flipped about having to pay additional $140 for 6 months of coverage). So I called them last night to say I don't care about additional warranty.
Electronic Hospital repair company now knows me by name. They have replaced same part soooo many times! The owner personally told me there is nothing else the company can repair and they should absolutely replace! He even personally called Frigidaire technicians to tell them this must be entire motherboard and needs to just be replaced! Frigidaire corporate woman Maureen told me they never replace their products!!! Disgusting, disgraceful service!
It blows my mind with such horrible customer service and poorly made products they haven't been shut down! That is a ton of bad reviews from people with same experience. Come on someone out there must know how we can get our products replaced? Like my husband took phone from me and blatantly told this Maureen "what's it gonna take my appliance burns my damn house down before you give a **." Just want to scream!!

Purchased Frigidaire Refrigerator model #LFHT2131QP0 delivered 9/8/15 from Lowe's, ice maker installed by Lowe's 9/9/15. Discovered leak from ice maker water line 11/10/15. Tyler's Appliance was scheduled by Lowe's who charged me $81.19 stating the water line was not covered under warranty. 01/21/16 called Frigidaire Service, as the water line had been sliced again due to a metal three prong housing around water line attachment. Old Guy Appliance service was dispatched by Frigidaire. Showed the tech the user manual describing the housing with only one top metal bracket. Was advised that's the way the appliance on my unit is suppose to be, however not according to the user guide/manual.
On 2/11/15 called Frigidaire again due to ice maker not producing ice. Old Man appliance came again replace unit. 7/16/16 discovered the water line leaking again same cut in line due to metal bracket. When water is dispensed the pressure from the water line is pushed against the bracket causing it to be split. On every incident I have no idea how long the water leak has been going on or damage being done to my floor. Spoke to manager at Frigidaire Tiffany ** 7/16/16 advising Old Guy Appliance to contact factory @ 888-842-3660 to discuss the design of ice maker connection. Appointment scheduled for home visit 7/22/16.
Have no confidence in this appliance - fear of coming home or waking up to flooded kitchen. Requesting replacement under lemon law. This is the 3rd call regarding same issue. Purchased a brand-new refrigerator. $1700. Always noticed since new it was never really cold. Had the refrigerator around six months and started having cheese molding and I was losing gallons of milk before their expiration date. Called the company for weeks ago. They sent repair guys and they said I needed a new compressor. I question them being that I do heating and cooling for a living and said if the compressor wasn't working my freezer shouldn't be working. They then agreed and change the relay on the compressor. Then a week later the fridge broke again.
Decided to use another company because I knew more than the first guys. This company said the same part was broke again. Waited another week for a part came and replaced it and that didn't fix it. Lost two refrigerators full of food. Ice leaked out of the front door, came home to ruined wood kitchen floor. Now I'm waiting another week for a control board and they're not even certain it's that. As soon as the repair guys came here they told me the French door. Heard first repair guy on with his boss saying it's the French door one that we have all the problems with. That made me feel good, figuring I flip houses and purchase 5-4 pieces packages from them a year.
After 12 phones calls begging to get a new one so that I could quit missing work and having idiots butchering my refrigerator. So far lost about $400 worth of food, 5 days work, 6 hours on the phone, family of 4 living out of a 100 hotel refrigerator and they don't care. They already paid around a thousand. I want this piece of crap out of my house so I might make it cost them 5000 in repairs I still have warranty left.

So I assumed this was creating undue stress at the screw holes and causing the eventual breakage. So, I called Frigidaire. They told me the handle has been re-designed with a metal inside and this should keep the handle from breaking again. We'll see. Had I known this I could have had the handle X-rayed to confirm the metal insert. If it doesn't break again I will just assume it has the internal metal. So, just a word of warning. After much arguing, they agreed to have it repaired one more time. I was told that Frigidaire would contact the repair people and I would hear directly from them for an appt. Here it is, Friday and you know, of course, that I haven't heard from Aabco, the repair people. I am once again back to making ice cubes in trays. FRIGIDAIRE IS LIKE ANY OTHER SCAMS. They do not make a good product and certainly don't stand behind their errors. CROOKS GO TO JAIL.

Our new Frigidaire Refrigerator which we bought from hhgregg in Roanoke, VA. is a nightmare. The ice machine doesn't work, the water from the dispenser (this happened since Dec. 17) is warm. Frigidaire sent repairmen. First one on April 29 to fix it, found out on April 30th that it was not. He said that he will have order more parts, now 3 weeks later we did not hear from him. 2nd repairman came on Friday May 6 to again fix the ice machine. It wasn't fix and the machine die during the night on May 6. Both the freezer and refrigerator heat up and I lost all my freezing foods overnight. Frigidaire told us in writing that they are sending another repairman today. Found out yesterday (May 12) that they are not.
According to Matt **, Corporate Supervision of Frigidaire that they will continue to repair and not replace nor refund even if it takes months to do so. Even if I have to go without the refrigerator for month it's not their concern. From many of the complaints on this site it seems that Frigidaire will not do anything for its customers and we are all at their mercy. My refrigerator is less than 6 months old. I suggest that all of us unite and file a class action suit on Frigidaire. They know already that the ice machine is a problem and continue to sell it. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU WILL.

This Frigidaire refrigerator FPHF2399MF5 is nothing but trouble. The water dispenser doesn't work because the coil on back keeps freezing. Repair guy comes in, uses a hair dryer to defrosted it and the problem comes back. Repair guy comes back, adds more insulation and it still doesn't work. Then he suggests lowering the freezer temperature, which doesn't help either... It is a design flaw. Badly designed, build cheap.
The ice maker is ridiculous. It breaks as much as the water dispenser. Today, instead of ice, it dispensed pieces of styrofoam mixed with broken plastic! Watch for temperature oscillations, it happens a lot and no, you're not crazy - this fridge is just bad. Don't waste your time and money in repairs, or maybe, forget about buying a refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser. I am staying away from Frigidaire in the future. Never again!

I have a refrigerator that was purchased early in 2012 and a problem ever since!! Every time I shut the refrigerator door or freezer door the refrigerator door pops back open leaving the food to go warm and the light to blow out. They deal with only 2 repair companies and one you must wait around all day. So I dealt with Mr. Appliance all but once where it's half the day and you don't know until late night before what time slot they give you. They came out multiple times and can NEVER find the problem!! I had so many appointments from 2012-2016 at one point I gave up because I can't keep missing work. Every repair requires 2 appointments 1 for diagnosis and 2 for repair. For almost a YEAR I had the door taped shut!!! Then and now a chair propped against the door! I said 3 repairs for the same problem. It's a lemon. They said no.
The last appointment's a couple weeks ago. Said it was the liner and hinge so when the repair man from Mr. appliance came to replace it said it's not that the door is bad and bad at time of purchase and ordering me a new door. However, he did something to the door where it would not shut AT ALL. Open 1-2 inches and left it like that!!! MAKING IT EVEN WORSE!! I can't push it shut with a chair!!! (unfortunately I couldn't afford to miss more work and had someone at the house who didn't see the problem and assumed it was the same as before). Soon as I got in from work I called right away. Mr. appliance said he was on a call and will call back. Close to closing I called again. Said I need to wait and I said, "Until when? It's Friday and you about to close?" She said nothing she can do! They closed, never received a call. I left a message that Tuesday and not even a return call from that or since Friday!!
I also emailed Frigidaire the whole story, said I would get a response in 48 hours and NOTHING. While the door was just sitting open I wedged a towel in the cracks and had the kids open it only when needed!!! My son suggested I tape the light button down before it blows out and I did and it finally shut!! I had the light switch replaced 3 times so that alone declares a LEMON!! I really need help here. I and my children should not be delaying with this for all these years and appointments constantly missing work and having to keep buying warranties to keep it going!!! To them my door is still sitting open because that was our last conversation and Mr. Appliance will not call me back and Frigidaire is refusing to declare it's a lemon!!!

I called for a certified Tech, explain the issue and he knew right away the problem. Order the part which he installed a new gasket for the new refrigerator. Ok whatever!! He said usually this will fix the problem. Well it did not. Within a week or so I now have the same issue with the ice maker. I called this time the 800# of Electrolux. Spoke to consumer relations and TOLD me they have never heard such a problem with the ice maker. I need to make a service appointment. Purchased my second side by side, stainless steel Frigidaire (FFHS2611PFCA) from Lowe's, both needed repair within the warranty period. The first one within 4 weeks of the warranty period and the most recent one within 7 months. Both situations customer service was utterly non-helpful. The first one took 4 visits from a service provider to diagnose. Once diagnosed from the time of the call and the time it was fixed it was a total of 45 days. The second one which I am dealing with now, it's been 3 weeks. The service provider J. Martin appliance in Georgia misdiagnosed the first visit so they sent the second team on 3/29 and supposedly ordered a compressor which would take 7 to 10 days but they couldn't be sure. They would not let me speak to a supervisor.
I had to rent a fridge and they would not reimburse me for it per their warranty. They used an example of a car needing repair during a warranty period, well a car company would provide a loaner and not subject the customer to renting a car. Both refrigerators and for rental properties. I have other personal units that are 30 and 40 years old. Frigidaire cannot make a fridge and they certainly have the poorest customer service department. They don't care. They are just there to push you off. A fridge is a necessity in every household so if you want to make sure you have cold food and not have high blood pressure DO NOT BUY A Frigidaire. Any of their products.

That makes 4 different repair people for 4 different places. Needless to say as a professional baker, this is utter madness.

I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator from Lowe's September 2015 and it has slowly lost its ability to keep items cold. I purchased a refrigerator thermometer to determine if it was the refrigerator as my food was going bad before the expiration date. The register was on the borderline red zone. I kept increasing the refrigerator's control above the recommended setting to the coldest setting. Still borderline red zone temperature.
I contacted Frigidaire last week and they stated someone would contact me within 3 days for service as I did not have a service rep in my area. 6 days later I called again and after 45 minutes and speaking to a supervisor I was given the same story, which was someone would contact me within 3 days. I told them I could find someone in 2 minutes to come out and service the refrigerator and I would send them the bill. They just continue to read from their script, did not address my problem, did not offer a solution. I live 15 minutes from an area that has appliance service companies and 30 minutes from a large city. Not a difficult assignment.
I should have learned my lesson 2 years ago when I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator and had the same problem with cooling or lack of... At least 2 years ago they sent someone out to fix it although now it is out of warranty and freezes items at the back of the refrigerator. I own several rentals and replace appliances on occasion and I will never, ever purchase any Frigidaire product again. I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator on August 18, 2015, to use in our new house. I left it packaged from Lowe's Home Improvement until November 11, 2015. I plugged it in and immediately began having problems. The storage drawers would not open and close. The water dispenser would work sometimes, but would not stop and water ran onto the floor. The ice maker makes ice at a snails pace and when the lever to activate it actually worked, it didn't stop and the door had to be opened to stop it. The chute for the icemaker continually clogs and has to be manually cleared. The ice and water dispensers routinely do not work when the lever is first pressed. The selector between ice, water, and crushed has to be manipulated several times for the lever to work. When the ice dispenser works and a person releases the lever thinking it is all good, in a few minutes, pieces of ice fall out onto the floor with no one around the refrigerator.
I have documented the numerous phone calls reporting the problems and requesting repairs starting on December 21, 2015 and continuing currently as of this day. Lowe's refuses to replace the Frigidaire Gallery and refers to Frigidaire. I have contacted Lowe's and Frigidaire in excess of 19 times including multiple visits to my residence. My time and gas has not been reimbursed. I continually get the same excuses from Frigidaire. Lowe's continually says it is a Frigidaire problem even though Lowe's continues to sell their products.
The ice maker has been replaced and the sensors/brain has been replaced. The refrigerator is a bad design and this is evidenced by the numerous complaints referring to the Frigidaire Gallery. This is a "Frigidaire Nightmare" that never seems to end. Please never buy a Frigidaire product. They have done nothing but try to avoid a refund or replacement. I hope this will give some insight into the Frigidaire Corporation and their lack of "Customer Service."

I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator in December 2012. As of April 1st 2016 we had a strong burning odor and we could not find out where it was coming from. We had to open all windows to try to get the smell out. About an hour later all of the sudden we heard barking noises and then all sudden flame burst out of our refrigerator sending our house with smoke. Luckily we were home that day and didn't have to work or our whole house would have been burnt down. We were quick enough to rip off the back of the refrigerator and get the flames put out. We called Frigidaire with the complaint and they are refusing to compensate us for the defective refrigerator. After we had to pay 90 bucks for one of their Appliance Man to come out and look at it and they also said that it was a defective component in the refrigerator.
We are going to file a small claims action to get our money back for this refrigerator as I really don't want to buy another one like it or have one replaced in its place. I have seen other comments of the same thing happening to other people's refrigerators that were bought around the same time and I think this should be a recall situation. When we spoke to Frigidaire and ask them if we were not home and our whole house burnt down would they have been responsible for the damage of our house and they straight up told us no it wouldn't have been their fault. I will not let this go and I will fight the good fight and to all of you other consumers do not buy Frigidaire products.

FFHS2611LWMA - We needed to replace our 14-yr-old Side by Side Frigidaire due to a possible drain plug clog but nowhere could we find instructions on where it was or how to unclog it and I was tired of puddles of water on the floor. The manual never even mentioned a drain plug. We decided after 14 yrs it was about time to just buy a new one. Let me just say I wish we just made the repair because the newer model does not compliment the Frigidaire name at all!!! First of all, there is no deli drawer. We were lucky enough to have saved it from the last fridge. The vegetable bins have no humidity settings. This is about as basic a fridge you can get. The fridge makes things cold, the freezer keeps things frozen. It is also 1 cubic feet smaller than the last model. The noise is annoying. The whine noise keeps the dogs in the neighborhood howling and the once a night knocking scares my cats into a frenzy.
The hum of it running sounds like a car running in your kitchen at idle. Our last fridge, while having problems never sounded this bad. We won't even hook up the ice maker due to reviews we have read of it leaking after awhile. The doors are slightly uneven, which I have read is the norm for this model. This will be our last Frigidaire. We were so impressed with our last one we decided to be loyal but had I kept looking at the reviews before purchasing I think we would have spent a few extra hundred dollars and went without another brand. I only hope we get just as much time of this as we did the last. It seems cheaply made and not worth the loyalty we bestowed on this brand.
DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! We thought we did enough but apparently not enough as we are not satisfied with this brand one iota. DO NOT BUY this model. Spend the extra $$. The reviews we saw gave this model 4 stars. It seems deceiving now. This fridge would be good for a landlord who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on an appliance but needs to have one in a residence. We still have 2 weeks left on the 30-day guarantee with Lowe's and I am on the fence if I want to replace it with another brand as I am now gun shy of which brand would not have these problems. Frigidaire dropped the ball on this model. They went back in time instead of leaping into the future.

My biggest issue is that the door does not always close. You really have to watch it because it looks like it closed but it is still open. One of the repairmen adjusted the front of the unit hoping to help it to close. But it still does not close all the way. I have to check it whenever I go by it to make sure it is closed. This is the only refrigerator I have ever owned that has been this bad. I have pleaded with the wife to replace it but since it's not old, no way. Is there anything that you can suggest that will remedy this problem we have. Short of slamming the damn door closed. This situation is really bad even though it sounds stupid. When buying an expensive anything you would expect a bit of longevity from the product. Well in today's world, that is not always true. We have a Frigidaire gallery refrigerator. I remember when Frigidaire was the brand to buy. But not anymore. After three years, our $2200 refrigerator has cratered. Apparently there is a sensor hanging down in the ice maker that regularly gets damaged. In our case the sensor was apparently pulled apart, by the ice maker, which caused a short in the electrical system. This burned out the power board to the tune of $500. Frigidaire takes no responsibility.

I purchased a Brand New Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator with auto ice maker, along with Gallery Range, Microwave, and Dishwasher. The frig is very lightly used as my wife and I are empty nesters. The icemaker failed within 3 months, and seven more times through month 18. At the month 18 repair, Frig said they will Not authorize another covered repair unless I purchased their outrageously priced extended warranty.
Each time the seven repairs were done by an authorized Frigidaire service company under close supervision and guidance of Frigidaire Corporate repairs department, who implemented a few repair service bulletins' recommended modifications and installed repair kits. Nothing has worked. My icemaker again quit working in month 20.
I will appeal to Frig to continue to repair the icemaker until they get it right, or until they replace my appliance. If they do Not - this will be the first of many, many reviews I will write, among other avenues for "getting the word out". I am 60 years old, and have lived in 14 different places and houses - and this is by far the worst appliance I have ever purchased. This fridge purchased in July 2015 at The Home Depot for a tenant. In February tenant told me it was forming ice in freezer while lower compartment wasn't cooling. I called Frigidaire several times. One repair tech didn't show up. Another company didn't exist when I called to confirm the appointment.. Finally got a tech who took apart freezer section saying it was probably frozen food particles such as carrots or peas that had gotten into the works. Something with the drain. He even mentioned that there might have been a company notice about drains.
The next day the freezer was icing up again and not cooling in the lower section. Again the same repairman came out and said it was because the freezer door wasn't closing properly perhaps due to a flap built into the underside of the freezer door or the tenant not closing the freezer door.. He called the Frigidaire technical support department and they told him to simply remove the flap. According to the repairman the only way the freezer would ice up like that was if warm air was entering. The gaskets are in perfect shape and I didn't see any holes in the body of the fridge. The fridge motor on the other hand sounded to me like a car engine revving - it was working so hard.
A couple of weeks later the tenant reported the same problem. Again I called Frigidaire telling them to refund my money or replace the fridge. I was told to make another appointment with the repairman and that he should call the Frigidaire tech department while he was at the job if he needed assistance. He was supposed to come last Wednesday. He didn't because he injured his back. We made an appointment for the next day at 1pm. He didn't make that appointment either. The next day at 11am for sure he said. I waited and called him at 2:30pm. He didn't respond to my message. At 5pm he called to say he could make it in the evening sorry, but he'd just had to take another job (meaning mine wasn't that important). I told him it was too late for the Frigidaire tech department to be open and that I'd had enough of him with him wasting three days making me wait.
I then called Frigidaire and insisted on either my money back or a replacement. The dispatcher told me the regional manager handled such requests and he wasn't in due to Good Friday. I could take another repair company while she placed the request with the regional manager. I asked for the number of the regional manager and I would talk to him myself. The dispatcher told me that the phone number of the regional manager is not available to the public. So now I have another appointment for March 29 with another repairman.
Do not buy from this company. I have three more Frigidaires of the same type in other apartments. I went feeling for the flap under the Freezer door. I only felt it on one and there is slight icing there. It no longer is under the Frigidaire warranty but rather an extended Home Depot one. As long as it works I will leave it and then when it starts going bad just ditch it and replace Frigidaire with another brand. No more of this junk for me.

Didn't connect and start using the appliances for another year while we renovated our new home so the new appliances were stored in the unopened boxes in our garage, it was not until 2/2013 when we finally moved in and connected the new appliances but on February 25th, 2016 after approximately ONLY 3 years of service the back of my refrigerator (model#DGUS2645LF2) caught on fire and THANK GOD I was at home at the time because I shutter to think about what could've happened had I not been home at the time.
I just happened to be in the kitchen cooking when I started smelling smoke and just thought it was something I had on the stove. Checked the stove and realized that everything cooking was ok. Ran upstairs to check and smelled no smoke. Ran back downstairs and realized it was coming from the back of the refrigerator. Pulled it out and immediately unplugged it and ran to get the fire extinguisher. I remember my mother having a refrigerator when I was a child and me graduating from high school with her having that same refrigerator. My husband remembers his grandfather replacing the appliances in his kitchen not because something had broken down but because he had gotten tired of them and just wanted something NEW but kept the old refrigerator for his fishing stuff.
I'm not asking for decades of service but one would expect more than 3 years out of a 1000.00 refrigerator. I requested that someone be sent out to service, repair or replace my refrigerator because I'm pretty sure that we can agree a refrigerator is not by any means supposed to CAUGHT FIRE. All the company would agree to do for me was to pay half for the parts so I called a service repair person out and was told that it would not be worth repairing. It would cost 800.00 to fix it. The compressor & main control needed to be replaced. I will never buy another Frigidaire or Electrolux product again.

While their headquarters are in N.C. they "ARE MADE IN MEXICO" - As the sticker pic says. The lower handle broke off after "normal use" on March 16th so I super glued it, reinstalled & it broke in a new spot 2 days later. I even made sure it sat flush so there was no unnecessary screw pressure on it - "pic included" later in new spot. Ice cream doesn't stay frozen on full power, steaks are never frozen solid. So about 5 months after we purchased our Frigidaire Gallery Side by Side, the Refrigerator side stopped cooling. The front display reads - 17 degrees, however, it's 55 degrees. We contacted Frigidaire and they put us in contact with an electronics repair shop in the area. They took about 2 weeks to come out and replaced the thermostat... that didn't work. Then Frigidaire sent us a part directly to help save time (the dispense board I believe) and when the service tech came out they said it was the wrong part and left. The Service Tech then ordered the main circuit board for the fridge and yep, that wasn't it either. At this point it's been 3 months!!!
The service tech assigned told us they'd ordered another part and they'd call to schedule an appointment. They never called, so we called them... They said they'd follow up with the tech for an ETA and call us back. And of course, they didn't call back. So now we contacted Frigidaire to see if we can have this reassigned to another service team and we were told they couldn't because this service team completed the original diagnosis we'd have to stay with them. Explained to the rep how this has been a 3 month process and she spoke with her Manager and said they'd have it reassigned to someone that would come out in the next few days while we're off (because don't forget I have to take time off from work each time they come to the house). Any guesses as to what happened? The fridge started to work! KIDDING, no one called or came out.
When I called to check on the status of getting this reassigned the new Cust. Svc. rep stated that per her notes we're waiting on a part... That info was from the original repair shop. She didn't see notes from my conversation with another co-worker 5 days prior. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she didn't have a manager and then basically told that the contract on the fridge is just for "Service and Repair" and they've provided us with that. I agree, partially, lots of service... lacking on the "repair" part. So I asked again to speak to anyone on their management team, she said fine, but they're going to tell me the same thing. She then put me on hold and disconnected the line. I'm sure that was just an accident. Haha.
The rude rep did get this reassigned to another Tech Service in our area, really nice guys, but they came out today to take a look and ordered ALL THE SAME PARTS!!! Stating that they can't know if the other parts the previous tech replaced were up to code, so they need to order their own parts. So, I guess I'm hoping to have a refrigerator by June, maybe July. I've never experienced anything like this. A complete disrespect for customers... 3+ months, I guess that's just the norm with this company. What a joke.

I was unaware of the 1-year manufacturer warranty and started buying bags of ice until I could afford to fix the icemaker, as I am a single Mom and I was told the cost for a new icemaker would be between $3-$400.00, which is half the cost of the refrigerator. I finally broke down last month and had it repaired. The repairman told me the part was "defective". So basically it was Frigidaire's issue/mistake, but it came out of my pocket.
I called customer service where I was on the phone for over thirty minutes, transferred three different times to be told it's my issue. How can this be that a product works for a couple of months, breaks down at no fault of my own, and I pay for it?? I will never buy another Frigidaire product ever again and I would recommend you don't either. Waste of time and money. I have now basically paid $1,200.00 for a refrigerator that is less than 2 months old. I cannot wait to see what else goes wrong with it. Piece of JUNK!

I wish I had read reviews but when I purchased an entire kitchen of gallery appliances, I had no choice but to get the fridge too. Within the year the shelving started breaking. First the vegetable bin shelf then the drawer. Next the meat drawer track. To replace all of these is about $140.00. I even have a warranty, still none of that is covered. I have talked to them many times and they have never offered to help in any way. You think this would embarrass them that their product is just falling apart. Why would spend more money to fix this piece of crap? The ice machine is so loud, people ask what that noise is. I have never hated an appliance more than this. The finish is in no way smudge proof, it's an everyday chore. They have discontinued the fridge but that does not help me.

We bought our Frigidaire 26.7 cu ft Refrigerator Model # FFHB2740PP on Feb. 8, 2015 and had no problems to speak of until Jan. 15, 2016. The fan in the ice maker started to make a very loud noise, like plastic on plastic hitting each other. We called Lowe's originally, since that is where we bought it. We were told we had to contact Frigidaire to have them send out a "qualified" technician. Seems there aren't very many "qualified" technicians in our area so we had to wait a week before someone could come out.
The tech noted that the condenser fan motor was only running intermittently causing the IM fan to freeze up. He would have to order a new sub fan and gasket, housing, condenser motor and thermostat. He scheduled an appointment for the repairs to be made the next week. Unfortunately, all the parts didn't arrive before the scheduled appointment so we had to cancel and reschedule. The last part appeared just a day before the repairs were scheduled to be completed. He arrived to our home on time, this was a first, and repaired the ice maker. We thought we were in the clear, but no such luck.
Just one month later we are experiencing the exact same problem and I am going to refuse to pay for the repairs as we are now out of the warranty period. I don't feel I should have to pay for a repair that was made only a month ago. I will never again buy a Frigidaire and would discourage anyone from buying one. I think appliances are no longer made to last and companies no longer care about customer satisfaction. This is evident in all the complaints I see about Frigidaire products.

Has been clicking very loudly since I purchased it, "only a month old" it freezes anything in the tray compartments and now has this horrible smell coming from the fridge section. I see why they offer such a small warranty for their products. By the time the service guy comes your protection plan is expired. I bought the extra 5 year protection so hopefully I can just buy a different brand. WILL NEVER BUY FRIGIDAIRE AGAIN, WILL SPREAD THE WORD AND HOPEFULLY PREVENT OTHERS FROM THE SAME MISTAKE.

We purchased a new Frigidaire Gallery July 2014. During the first year we had seven service calls for repairs, plus a couple of return visit's after the repair shop received needed parts. Frigidaire did not pay the repair service and they would not respond to fix the recurring problems. After many calls we finally got a different repair service to respond. All of the fixes were temporary as both repair services related that the problem was a design flaw. The main problem is the upper ice maker, it freezes up and no ice, then as it thaws the water puddles in the door and on the floor. The unit was replaced and still no ice. The freezer drawer does not seal causing the freezer to frost up. New tracks installed, still not sealing properly.
We contacted Frigidaire after the warranty was up due to the same existing problems. They won't extend the warranty and offered additional warranty for over $400.00. No way we will spend any more time or money on this lemon. I did some after the fact research, I SHOULD HAVE DONE IT FIRST, and learned that many consumers are having the same problems with Frigidaire design flaws and lack of consumer service. I sent a complaint to the BBB and waiting to hear Frigidaire's response. The bottom line is Frigidaire is aware they have a problem and will not make it right with consumers.

He looked at fridge 30 secs and said I needed a new fridge. The back panel was rusted, rust running through lines and a block of ice on outside of fridge. He even took pictures... I should have asked him to send them to me! Not repairable. Warrantech says "the tech keeps sending in the 'wrong' report." Three weeks later, they are still playing phone tag with me. They say they've called A&E and A&E says they've sent the report to Warrantech... You get it! By the reviews I've read, apparently it's the way they keep customers waiting.
Now, I am waiting on e-mail from A&E with a copy of the tech report that was sent to Warrantech. She says that could take 10 days to receive so I asked her to read the report to me. It says void of insulation and not repairable. I'm trying to figure out what they don't understand about this report which I also saw in reviews. They won't honor warranty because the tech wasn't clear? I believe the only time they do something is when you get on the phone or maybe not. I am submitting a report to BBB. By this time we have had five repair people come out, as it keeps making the same noise! The last repairman told me that he was going to extend my warranty to make sure that the seals were working properly. When the fridge started to make the noise again I called Sears and they said they get back to me. I then went down to the store and they said nobody was able to help me.

Purchased a Frigidaire Refrigerator Serial # 4A41309131-July 2014. It started leaking from the ice maker & not producing ice. After repair attempts it was found to not have been insulated properly in the back and not repairable. After numerous phone calls to Frigidaire a replacement was finally authorized-May 2015. It took until July to receive a new unit. The new unit was the same style refrigerator-Model# FFHB2740PS6A Serial 4A50828664. This new unit started leaking out of the ice maker. I called for repair in November. They sent out A&E. Unscheduled a female technician from A&E showed at my home. She ran tests. The ice maker was too warm but the temp set on the programming showed fine. She stated she did not know what was wrong and could not fix it, and Frigidaire never sent the authorization code for her to get paid so she was not going to come to my house again. This was not acceptable.
I called Frigidaire with her in my home. The representative from Frigidaire advised that the A&E Tech needed to call their tech line so their technician could walk her through the repair. The A&E tech refused to talk to Frigidaire and walked out (Frigidaire was still on the line as this happened). Frigidaire authorized another company to come out Judd & Black. Frigidaire called with the date and time of repair. They no showed. Later that afternoon Judd & Black called. They were sorry they missed the appointment but knew what the problem was and had ordered me an ice maker. Two weeks later I get a recorded phone call that they would be here the next day (12 hour notice, no call back number).
Repairman comes out (nice guy) installs a new ice maker. 24 hours later I have water on my floor. I call Frigidaire explain, what happened with their 1st repair company, 2nd repair company. I ask for a different company to be sent out, but I would accept Judd & Black if another company could not be found. I was clear they were NOT to send A&E repair out to my home again after dealing with their rude unprofessional employee who refused to talk to Frigidaire. I was promised A&E would not be sent. Thursday night I receive a recorded phone call that I was scheduled for repair Friday 12-4:00 window. To my shock it is A&E to repair my refrigerator. I actually told the repairman that I was a unhappy because I requested that A&E not come.
As he was there I let him proceed. I found him to be very knowledgeable and he walked me through what he was looking at and why. Within 2 minutes he knew what it was. The ice maker is located in the refrigerator and there is a gap of 1/2 inch between the top of the ice maker and the ceiling of the refrigerator so it isn't properly insulated. He had seen gaps before but not this large. He said any repair or patch would not hold and this problem will come back. He tried to call Frigidaire but had no service. He took pictures and went down the street to upload the pictures and talk to Frigidaire. He came back, said the unit was deemed unrepairable, gave me a receipt for the repair which states, "Unable to repair per stac inside cabinet not flat air leak to ice maker".
I called Frigidaire right after he left to see what the next step was. They said they did not have the notes from the repairman or tech dept. The rep Sindra said she would follow-up with A&E and Frigidaire's tech dept and I would get a call in 3-4 business days. Today 1/22 I called, it is now 5 business days. Spoke with Michelle. They had no notes, and they would have to send out another repairman so they could have the repairman talk to the tech dept. while standing in front of the fridge or they will not honor their warranty. This not acceptable. These are their authorized repair facilities, 4 repair attempts. I have pictures and receipt that clearly shows the problem. I have a damaged floor from water. I work and cannot take ANOTHER day off to meet unscheduled repair companies. Per all the repair technicians sent to my home this model has design issues, and Frigidaire is aware.

Then the ice maker began leaking water from the door. They replaced the gasket in the door shoot. The water from the door has never been cold & no one has addressed this issue at all. But around my third month into the lease, my refrigerator started to become a (quite literal) headache. It makes this long obnoxious growling noise 24/7. Imagine a metal grinder or an older vacuum cleaner constantly running in a closet. That's the only thing I can compare the noise to. It's all I hear day in and day out. My apartment is loft style with an open ceiling, so everything that goes on in my kitchen/living room, I can also hear in my bedroom clear as day.
This freezer/refrigerator is so loud, I have to sleep at night with earplugs or else I go completely insane. I have certain friends that will not come over to hang out because of the noise it makes. The apartment has a maintenance crew that has come up to look at it more times than I can count, and the only thing they've managed to do is fix the ice maker which will stop working again every couple months. I'm not in a financial position to hire an appliance repair guy, so at this point I'm just waiting for my lease to end. I purchased a new Frigidaire refrigerator on Sept-21-2015 from Pacific Sales. It was delivered on Sept 24. I noticed the chill drawer was misaligned, and did not line up with the other drawers. I called Frigidaire, and they sent out a new frame, glass, and drawer. When they arrived, the frame and drawer were both broken. I called them back, and they sent the items again, although I did not receive the drawer. I called back again. They told me they would send a technician to look at it. A few days later a technician came out, and realigned the drawer. It wasn't until the next day when I went to get something out of the drawer, that I noticed the glass didn't fit right (wobbled, and did not lay flat), and there was a crack in the inner liner next to the drawer. I called Frigidaire again. I was told they would replace my refrigerator, but they would have to send a technician from another appliance company to look at it.
I received a call from Alpha Omega Appliance Company, and set an appointment. They would be out between 8 am and noon. After waiting for three hours, I got a phone call from the technician. He wanted me to take a picture of the model number, crack, and e-mail it to him. I told him I could have done that in the first place, instead of waiting three hours for him. He said he didn't like my attitude, and to find another technician. I called Frigidaire again, and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told that the supervisors were in a meeting, and would call me back in a hour. Three hours later, I still hadn't heard from them. So I called back again. The customer service agent I spoke with would not let me speak with a supervisor, and insisted on handling the problem himself. He said the technician has the right to refuse service if he feels that he is entering into a hostile situation.
He told me that there is a patch kit available, and that is how they will resolve this issue instead of replacing the refrigerator. He said the patch would be seamless, and I wouldn't even notice it. They sent out another technician from a different appliance company. He realigned the drawer again, and now the glass fit correctly. He also called Frigidaire and told them about the crack. He was told to order the repair kit. As it turned out the repair kit was on back order, so it took a couple of weeks before he returned to install the patch. It looks like a white piece of vinyl tape, and is very visible. I called Frigidaire back again, and this time after I insisted, I was able to speak with a supervisor. Her answer for every question was "this is what our service technician recommended". She clarified that it was their in-house company service technician who recommended this, and not the service technician that they had sent out.
I offered her this scenario; if I scratched your black car, and repaired it by putting a piece of black electrical tape over it, would you be satisfied? Her answer was "no". I replied "why should I?" She said because "this is what our service technician recommended". I have made 10+ phone calls to these people, and have probably logged in at least two hours of hold time. It boggles the mind how a company like this stays in business.

She states to me after telling me I had to call Frigidaire THEN says SHE will call Frigidaire and put the request in for service. Frigidaire CLAIMS they haven't had a serviceman out here. Well who the hell was here then??? So the saga continues. Now it's been over a week and still Lowe's tells me there's nothing they can do 'cause it's been over 30 days! Frigidaire keeps passing the buck and I'm taking this to Channel 3 EYEWitness News now. Will keep you updated if nothing happens by end of this week 12/31/2015. We bought this unit from Lowe's 6 months ago. We have water collecting in the bottom and on the lids of containers and in produce drawers. Also some freezing of items in the back of the fridge and ice formation in back of freezer. I wanted to return the unit, but have misplaced our receipt, though I kept all the other information. We thought maybe some line had frozen up so we took everything out and let it sit overnight to thaw, but then we are still having to mop up water.

Purchased a new French Door Frigidaire in August 2014. The trouble began in February 2015. Water drips out of the water/ice dispenser, onto the floor. Then no ice. Then frost build up in the freezer. 7 service calls from 4 different companies, parts replaced, some twice based on the "tech dept" of Frigidaire, and I still have the same problem. Frigidaire continues to say, "Unless the tech dept deems it unrepairable, there is nothing we can do." No one seems to care anymore. I contacted Lowe's (where I purchased it) and they won't do anything. I'm ready to scream.

Week later I had to buy a new water valve, $10.00. On 12-24-15 the refrigerator was checked and the temperature inside was 61 degrees. Freezer had Ice on the back panel. Used a hair dryer to thaw out the freezer. Tested all the circuits, found the thermostatic sensor was bad, $25.00. Also requires another defroster timer, $51.00 plus shipping, $7.95. Checked out the coils under the refrigerator and they were clean.
Today on 12-25-15 Freezer is working like new. Refrigerator is now at 39 degrees like normal. I was able to save my food as I purchased a small compact camping refrigerator during the summer. All of our appliances in our kitchen are Frigidaire. Our Microwave made by Frigidaire was only 2 yrs. old and the front control panel went out costing $210.00 just for the panel. Lowe's had a discontinue sale for a new Microwave a week later for $146.00. Never again will I purchase Frigidaire products!!!

I bought a Frigidaire Gallery Top Freezer 3 years ago for $1,000 & it stopped keeping cold in the fridge & everything defrosted in the freezer, although it's still cycling on & off like it always has. The model is Frigidaire FGHT2144KR7. The fridge was top rated & came highly recommended by the 5 different places I spoke to when I shopped for my appliances.
I had Appliance Doctor come to service it. They think it may be some speck of something caught in one of the tiny tubes that got dislodged during manufacturing or that it needs Freon gas. Either way it is going to cost $900-$1200 to fix without any guarantee they can find & solve the problem. I called Frigidaire 6 times in three days & was transferred then waited 20-30 minutes only to be hung up on. Finally spoke to a Customer Service rep that said there was nothing they could do b/c it's past the one year warranty. I called back. Got to a Customer Service supervisor who said they could give me 10% off the $200-$400 for parts (not including Freon which is $800-$900). Basically they'll give me $20-$40. I will never buy another Frigidaire product.

My son bought this at Lowe's, and we've kept it too long to return it. It is a horrible refrigerator! It vibrates and no matter what I do to keep the parts from vibrating -- like wedging plastic between it and the wall, taping the back panel to the sides, it still vibrates and makes this annoying noise all of the time, while it's running. The ice machine freezes up and won't work -- no ice will come out. The very expensive water filter doesn't last long before I have to spend another $55.00 for a new one.
The bottom section of the fridge freezes all of the vegetables, so I have to throw away all of the lettuce, celery etc. If I store it in the bins, that are supposed to be for that purpose, it will freeze also around the edges of the fridge part, even though it isn't set below 35 degrees. If I set it higher, then the items towards the middle of the fridge aren't cold enough. The freezer door doesn't close tightly without pushing really hard on it, to get the gasket to seal. It's a poor design. Will all crumbs from the freezer falling through the bin, which makes it hard to clean. The meat bin is so short in height, that I can't even fit a normal roast in it. Who designed this thing?

We bought a side-by-side refrigerator ice maker. Stopped working after about six months. Refrigerator was still under warranty so we called for service. The guy frigidaire sends out says it must be because we have reverse osmosis so he will order a bypass kit which we might have to pay for. We said ok. 4 weeks go by still no guy so we call and he comes back and acts like the previous visit never happened. Blames reverse osmosis again and ice maker not filling. Says the freezer is set too cold and cranks it warmer. He leaves everything in. The freezer starts getting soft and still no ice. How can water freeze if nothing else will. So after about a week we call again.
This time he orders ice maker and after another 3 weeks we call and he says he forgot. 2 weeks later we call again and another week the guy shows up and changes out the ice maker. No bypass nothing. Still not working. Fills with water and makes ice fine but won't dump it. Has ice in the tray right now. 10 phone calls and a month go by still no guy. So we are fed up and call frigidaire directly again and are told the warranty is now expired and there is nothing they can do unless we give them $200 for extended warranty. This is what most people would refer to as extortion. $2000 for the fridge a year ago and primarily bought for the water and ice in the door to get our kids to drink more water. This thing has been garbage and now had to pay again.
Frigidaire now says they will send a different guy to repair. So I imagine 2 years more of unanswered phone calls and no ice maker. At least the privilege of dealing with these people for another two years only cost $200. My advice is to buy a used refrigerator see it work and take it home because if you buy new at least from this company it may not work from day 1 and you have no choice but to deal with incompetent factory authorized repair people who will drag out the repair until they can make you pay again.

On 11/11/2015 my brand new 6-month-old Frigidaire refrigerator stopped cooling without warning. Then the alarm started going off warning about high temp so we ended up shutting the fridge down completely. I called Frigidaire immediately because it's under warranty (1 year). They gave me the next available appointment on Tuesday, 11/17/15 from their ONLY authorized repair center in my area. I was not happy to hear that I would have to wait 6 days for service. I called the center the very next morning (11/12/2015) to confirm a time for Tuesday and I was not in their system. They told me that they did not service where I live despite being only 20 miles away. I called Frigidaire back and they put me on hold and told me the service would, in fact, come to my house. I was told the next available appointment was now 11/20/15, over a week away!
I asked to speak to supervisor. I told them I would not wait that long given the fridge was so new. I was told that they would have to put in a special request to get an unauthorized repairman to come. This would take 2-3 more business days. To speed up the process, I even gave them the names and telephone numbers of two reputable repairmen in the area from our yellow pages. I had no choice but to wait, unless I wanted to possibly spend hundreds of dollars out of pocket. On 11/14/2015, we turned the fridge back on. It immediately started to make some cold air, but the thermometers I have inside show the fridge temp was 40 degrees (not the 37 the door panel reads) and the freezer was about 0 to -4 even though it was set to 0. The temperatures would fluctuate over the course of the week waiting for service.
On 11/17/2015, Frigidaire sent A&E Factory Service to my house. The repairman noticed immediately that the evaporator fan was not running. His infrared thermometer said the fridge was actually 44 degrees and the freezer was 11, despite for being set for 37 and 0. While on the phone with tech support, he was able to reboot the fridge and the fan came on. We could then feel some cold air coming out of the vents. He was not able to diagnose the cause of the problem and told me that it looked like it was back up and running but it could happen again and that I should demand an extended warranty from Frigidaire. He said to give the fridge a couple hours to stabilize and then I should be able to put my food back in. He left and I went to work thinking my fridge was all set.
I called Frigidaire to ask for the free extended warranty and they told me they would only give me a "goodwill gesture of 6 months." I still have 6 months on original warranty so this would only get me to a year from now. I did not want to accept it because I am concerned there is a bigger, underlying problem happening and another year of coverage will not be enough. Because the repairman couldn't diagnose the problem, they would not go any longer on the free extended warranty. They wanted to set up a 2nd service appointment after they see the repairman's report from yesterday. They estimated my appointment could be on Tuesday, 11/24, two days before Thanksgiving! Later that same afternoon, while thinking my fridge would back to normal after stabilizing, we discovered that the fridge was still not cold enough to put the food back in! We called Frigidaire again who scheduled service for another week out.
Today was the long awaited follow up visit from A&E Service. We had to take the day off from work to wait for them. They did not show up during their two window period of estimate arrival. When we called to see where they were, were told that we would be responsible for the cost of the visit, which was incorrect. This was soon cleared up but not until after another lengthy telephone call with Frigidaire's customer service. The repairman then informed us that the A&E repairman who came on 11/17/2015 had failed to order a new control board for this unit, so the repairman today did not even have the part, and thus would not be stopping by after all.
This is so hard to believe. The first repairman NEVER told us that we needed a new part. In fact, he said he could not even diagnose the problem that day. He told me that the problem I had called in the service call for was the "worst problem to diagnose, that the unit was appearing to operate just fine now and that I should ask Frigidaire for a longer warranty in case the problem came up again without warning." I was never told a part was needed, one was being put on order, or that I would have to see A&E again. In fact, when the first repairman left, he told me to give the unit 2-3 hours to let the temperature stabilize and then I could use it again. It was at this point that I called Frigidaire to request a free extension of my warranty to avoid future issues if the same problem arose. Today's appointment was scheduled because Frigidaire wanted to determine the problem before granting me an extension of warranty.
Taking time off from work and our anticipating a "repair" today was a complete waste of time. It's two days before Thanksgiving and my new fridge is STILL unusable. I am going on Day #14 with no refrigerator and there no end in sight. I AM BEYOND MAD AT THIS POINT. We just called the place of purchase. The owner has offered to pick up the refrigerator tomorrow and have it serviced in his own shop as a courtesy to me. He assures me that this will NOT void my factory warranty. I feel I have NO other options at this time. If I wait for Frigidaire to schedule another visit with A&E, it will be another week before they can come. We will have to take more time off from work. The repairman may still not have what is needed. All while having a refrigerator that is not keeping a safe temperature and risking my family's chance of getting a food-borne illness if I take the chance and put our food in it.
It is reasonable to assume a new refrigerator will not stop working the first six months you own it. Nor should it the first year or even two. The amount of time I have spent dealing on the phone, emailing Frigidaire and trying to get help from them is horrendous. Not to mention the amount of frustration and inconvenience of trying to feed a family of 4 with no working refrigerator for 14 days! I will never, ever buy Frigidaire again. Their customer service is horrible. Total indifference and they read from scripts to argue with you.

We have the Frigidaire French door model FGHN2866PF purchased in June 2015 and the freezer has not worked properly since it was delivered. The freezer will not hold the temp, food gets too warm then the freezer fills with frost. Additionally, the cold air leaks from the freezer into the lower section of the refrigerator and freezes food there. The first service call replaced the freezer gasket and the gasket between the freezer and the top fridge. That did not fix either problem. The freezer then filled completely with frost and 6 long icicles. The second repair said it was still a bad gasket but then, the repairman discovered that the frame was so thin that it was warped. Possibly done during delivery and the unit would have to be replaced. No gasket would seal against the bowed frame. The freezer door would also not close on one corner because the tracks for the basket appeared to bow from the weight of the food.
We spent the first 2 months wondering why the unit was not keeping things frozen. Then we spent the next 2 months chasing between the appliance sales (Charlotte Appliance, Rochester NY) and the repair company (County Wide Appliance Service) and Frigidaire. Everybody we talked with said we had to deal with the other parties first which we did multiple times. Each of them blamed the other. Now, we have spent the past month waiting for the supposedly approved return/exchange to get processed. Five months later, we still have a broken Frigidaire that Frigidaire refuses to refund. The state that they DO NOT DO REFUNDS. They will send a replacement of the same model which has hundreds of problems stated in online reviews but Frigidaire will not authorize a replacement until they receive photos from County Wide which they say they are still waiting on.
County Wide says they sent the photos to Frigidaire 13 days ago and they gave us the file number from Frigidaire. Charlotte cannot do anything until Frigidaire approves, etc. It is a vicious circle that has been never ending. Frigidaire was extremely rude to me on the calls saying they WILL NOT DO A REFUND and that my ONLY option is to receive the same model (as in a piece of junk). In 50 years, I have NEVER had such a poor appliance. This is supposed to be a key appliance that is relied on daily to keep $100s of food from spoiling. This is totally unacceptable. DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE. Please read reviews before making your purchase. At this point, it appears that I am stuck with a $2000 piece of junk that does not work.

The last time I replaced the evaporator fan motor myself, so I did not have to wait 3 or 4 days for a repairman, as there are not enough in our area. Although that is not completely true, manufacturers do not seem to have pride in the products they make anymore so they break down more frequently. Our old Frigidaire lasted 20 years with zero service calls!!
Dealing with the Lowes Extended Warranty people was a major headache, and they never called back although they promised to. The service techs were courteous when they were finally able to come out. When I called them and told them the display on the door was flashing "EF", which I found out indicated an evaporator fan problem, I was told that that didn't matter a technician would still have to come out and diagnose the problem. This is a long story. I will try hard to make shorter but need to get out all the details. I purchased this refrigerator (Model FFTR2021QS) from my local Home Depot on 6/6/15 and had it delivered to my house on 6/11/15. About a month later I noticed that I had melted items in my freezer. I assumed that it was my fault for overloading the freezer and blocking out the circulating air inside. I cleared it out and cleaned it and reloaded the freezer with less items.
In the beginning of September I noticed again that things were not working correctly in my freezer and that ice cream, "Cool Whip", and any dairy type products were VERY soft and not completely frozen. So I contacted Home Depot and they contacted Frigidaire and sent out a licensed repairman. After checking it out and contacting the repair dept. at Frigidaire they determined that my freezer was working the way it was made to work according to DOE standards. I reported this back to my Customer Service Rep. at Home Depot. She placed a conference call to Frigidaire with me on the line and we spoke to their Customer Service Manager who said that Frigidaire is not responsible for replacing the Refridge/freezer since it is working at their standards and that I should not put ice cream into the freezer if I want it frozen.
After more calls back and forth and another repairman that replaced the control in the fridge my case was closed. My Home Depot Rep. was to send me a $250 gift card as a sign of good will. (I still have not received the card as of 11/11/15). I still have a Frigidaire Refrigerator/ Freezer that does not keep ice cream frozen. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER ELECTROLUX OR FRIGIDAIRE PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE!!! I will also let everyone I know of my experience and try to sway them away from these companies! I was excited. I was purchasing my own after renting for many years. Especially because the home came with all new appliances. Great!! Well that was short lived and the nightmare began. I closed on my home May 1st of this year. Memorial Day weekend my Frigidaire refrigerator stopped working. I thought no problem, it's under warranty and its new. I called Frigidaire to report the problem, I was told that it would take 3 days for someone to come out and look at the appliance since there were a limited number of service providers in my area. I was not happy considering I had purchased a lot of food for the Memorial Day weekend.
So the service guy comes to look at unit. He said that the unit needed a new compressor, a new evaporator and some new internal system. He said that he would replace all those parts which would essentially be like having a new refrigerator. Sounds great! The service guy comes and replaced everything he needed in order for the refrigerator to work. June 6th, wake up for breakfast and the refrigerator is not working. Again. Called Frigidaire, was told that they would look at my unit in 2 days. 3 days later the service guy from “At Your Door Service” came to look at the fridge. He could not tell what the issue was with the unit. He says it looks like an internal issue. He ran some “dye” thru it and said no leaks and it would be fine. More food loss but happy fridge is now working.
Mid July refrigerator is down. AGAIN. Called Frigidaire to ask about a replacement appliance. Was told the warranty was for repair only, well since I did not purchase the warranty that came with my new home I did not know that terms of the warranty were so another service guy from “At your Door Appliance” came to repair the unit. Again. He gets fridge running still cannot tell me what the issue is. More food loss. August 6th refrigerator not working. AGAIN. This time I decided to go to At Your Door Appliances to see if I could speak with someone directly since all that I was hearing from Frigidaire was they would keep sending techs to repair and not replace the unit.
I look up the address for “At Your Door”. I find out that this is actually a residential home with no sign indicating a business of ANY kind. There were two unmarked vans out front and for safety I was not approaching the house. I go by the Sears store to see if anyone there could help me. They could not. Called Frigidaire AGAIN. The rep told me that they would send another company to look at the refrigerator and that my issue was being escalated for a replacement (who knew since I was told it was a repair only). New company comes out to look at the refrigerator. New guy doesn't want to work on the refrigerator because he stated that the previous tech overcharged the compressor and the unit was shot. He did add Freon or some die or something to get the refrigerator to work.
September 30th refrigerator starts to beat. I can tell it is about to go out because it beeps every time it has went out. Called Frigidaire AGAIN to have someone come look at the fridge. This repair guy says that he cannot see but this may be an internal problem since it continues to happen but fridge had to be out for him to call in a service call. Yes! More food loss. This brings us to October 16th, refrigerator completely down. Called Frigidaire AGAIN to ask about replacement unit. Was told replacement was never put in per Toni **, supervisor. I am beyond frustrated at this point. Toni did say that this issue had been escalated for a replacement, this time. She said that someone would contact me within 48 hours if no contact call and ask to speak with a corporate supervisor.
48 hours NO CALL. Called Frigidaire AGAIN spoke with Oscar. It took Oscar 20 minutes to verify information on my account. I was finally was transferred to Gail, corporate manager. After asking all the same questions that Oscar just asked the phone hangs up. At this point I do not think this will be resolved without some legal intervention. This has been the most horrific experience. I wish I could sell this house and purchase a home without ANY Frigidaire products. I have lost roughly one thousand dollars’ worth of food, and time from work. This was supposed to be a happy time. Now I wish I had just stayed a renter. AND still NO call from Frigidaire. NEW HOMEOWNERS if the house you are considering has Frigidaire appliance leave immediately for the next house. #wish I stayed renting!

I just wanted to share with the other consumers that this company is absolutely not wanted to deal with. We bought our refrigerator 4 months ago. Unfortunately it is leaking and also it is making very loud and continual noise!!! I wasn't going to write that, if our guarantee helped much so far. I'm so disappointed and I will never ever take the risk to buy that brand again!
We already had 5 technicians come and they cannot fix either one of our problems. In the mean time, I was trying to deal with Frigidaire customer service and I was told that to get a new one refrigerator is possible only if ours is not repairable. After the fifth technician they sent, today, after 1 month of repairing without any result, he called them to explain that our refrigerator is not repairable. The answer was: replace the compressor. The technician says, "but it is working good," but the representative still wants him to do so! And they will send another technician!!! I already have a headache, my food is getting wet, we had 5 times someone coming and Frigidaire already paid more for repairs than the refrigerator actually cost!!! I really don't get that. NEVER BUY THAT BRAND! Thank you.

FGHC2344KF1 - In the summer of 2010, we bought a Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator as a gift for my son's home. After just a few months of operation, the self-defrost water collected at the bottom of the freezer causing the bottom drawer to ice up and unable to open. A technician corrected the problem, but it happened again in 2013. The entire time the drawers in the refrigerator section did not work well - items in the drawers freeze. No matter what was done to lower the temperature in the refrigerator section (including blocking the vents), the items still freeze making these 3 drawers totally useless. It is embarrassing to purchase a gift that doesn't work as it should. Would never buy another Frigidaire anything.

Purchased this fridge for our garage for sodas, water, beer, extra freezer. This is the worst appliance I have ever purchased. After less than one year of use, it would not freeze. I contacted Frigidaire numerous times by telephone and "NEVER NEVER" received a call back. POOR, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would not recommend anyone purchasing one of their products. I remember years ago, my parents would have purchased nothing but Frigidaire or Sears products, can't say that today. Obviously, they have probably farmed this out to China to build for them. DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE PRODUCTS. We Americans control the market - automobiles (remember Studebaker, gone) and many other companies. They do not build a product with care and quality, they do under. Adios Frigidaire. NO NEED TO CONTACT ME BECAUSE I WILL NEVER, YES NEVER, BUY ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR PRODUCTS!

We have been battling with Frigidaire for years to get our Gallery refrigerator replaced. The ice-makers have never worked properly for more than a few weeks at a time. Even their own repair company couldn't believe it hasn't been recalled. When contacting Frigidaire, they said they couldn't locate any evidence that our refrigerator was repaired by their dealer while under warranty. They sent LAR from Wakefield, MA to our home 3 times! Then our warranty ran out and we've paid twice to try to repair it with our own repair company. Now we are stuck with a refrigerator with 2 ice-makers that don't make ice. We had to buy a portable ice-maker to keep in our pantry to get ice. If I could give this company a ZERO rating, I would.
By the way, we also had to have the Gallery dishwasher replaced as it blew out the motor when it was only 2 years old. The gas range has had to have 2 repairs.

A week after I got my Frigidaire side by side, the handles on the door came off. Why I had crap for product. Any normal person would expect a refrigerator to last at least a year, right? Not Frigidaire Products! On the month and year I purchased it, the Ice maker stopped working. I refuse to spend one penny to have that fixed. Because then I would be facilitating their THIEVING WAYS. Frigidaire sells junk and we pay premium dollars for this garbage, that I couldn't sell for five dollars as the junk that it is.
When persons like myself are sold this, we can't go out and buy another one especially if you are like me 68 yrs old and retired. The HHGregg retailer isn't much better, they KNOW that they are SELLING GARBAGE and ARE COMPLICIT. I plan on Demonstrating with signs and other activists for the HOLIDAYS, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, ANY DAY. Retired with nothing better to do. What happened to the old days when you bought something and it lasted. Frigidaire lives off selling our names to repair companies, why because broke appliances is what makes them MONEY. And making defective prideless products.

I purchased a Frigidaire Refrigerator from Lowe's and paid a little over $2,000 for what was supposed to be a good, reliable product. After 1 year, the compressor went out and started making an extremely loud noise which could be heard from the opposite side of a 1800 square foot house. I contacted Frigidaire and they informed me they could not do anything because I was 10 days over my annual purchase date. I was then informed I would have to purchase an extended warranty plan as their plan only covers out to one year.
I had to purchase an extended warranty for them to take care of the loud noise. Then they informed me the earliest they could have someone come out to come fix the issue was 5 days out. I asked the customer service tech if there was any way I could get an earlier date and he said no. He informed me my situation was not an emergency situation so it does not require expedited service. Needless to say, I will never buy another Frigidaire product as long as I live just because of their poor customer service and lack of professionalism/courtesy!!! Very disappointed, especially when paying over $2000 for their product. You are definitely not paying for their customer service. Social media here I come!!!

Back in May I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator. After a few weeks, in the freezer was all ice, in the refrigerator itself water and ice. Called for service, Frigidaire sent a service man out. After looking at the fridge, he told us the seal around the door was shot and we needed a new door. He said it would take a week. We waited. After the second week, we called, no answer, only to find out that Frigidaire went with a new service contract. This contract is called AWD. We called, a man came and said he would put some kind of seal around the door, plus a few other things. He said it would probably work for a few days, and the same problem would happen. Well four days later freezer all ice, product spoiled. Called AWD, sent a service man out, took pictures of freezer, spoiled product, and said we should hear from Frigidaire.
Well, you got that right, no call. We called Frigidaire and they said a man would be there on Sat. Sat came no service. They were busy and would be there Thursday Oct 1. He came, took pictures, submitted them to Frigidaire, said it would be 48 hrs before we would hear from Frigidaire. Mon Oct 5th no call. On Oct 6th, after work I called Frigidaire and spoke to a Sandy and gave me the runaround. She said it takes 48 business hrs. Ok, he sent the pictures on Thursday. Friday is 24 and Mon 48. Now it is after 1 pm Oct 7th, still no call. This refrigerator is only 5 months old. For the last three months they been giving me every excuse. I told them I wanted my money back.
I did a lot of research on this refrigerator and also was informed they had many problems with this make and model. I asked them why they continue to sell a lemon, no answer. They had no response. My warranty is still good for another 7 months, so what is the problem? They offered the same make and model. Really, why would I. I will say one thing, I will never buy a Frigidaire product. This is a very poor way to run a business, avoided problems, not calling the customers back. In today's economy, you would think Frigidaire would want to take care of their problems, and keep their customers.
Updated on 12/07/2015: It took many months, back and forth with Frigidaire, still no satisfaction. Dealing with Lowe's where it was purchased. Not their fault. Lowe's will be picking up the refrigerator on Dec 8th, and credit my account. In the meantime, we will be using coolers until I can purchase another refrigerator. I work all day, my husband is home and disable. Thanks to Frigidaire, we have no refrigerator. I will go back to Lowe's to purchase another refrigerator, I just hope Frigidaire doesn't stiff Lowe's out of their money. I hope the consumers out there read all the reviews about Frigidaire before buying their product. The sad thing about this company is they don't care about a thing, they never answer calls, complaints, etc. Again, beware of Frigidaire.

Called Frigidaire to ask re: returning above the fridge. No satisfaction. Called Lowe’s, asked to speak to the store manager -- Darnell.
I explained to him my frustration, refrigerator and Lowe’s customer service. Well, since I had purchased Lowe’s extended protection plan for an additional $70.00 at the time of purchase ( 2/25/2015), I was protected for an extended period of time other than the 30-day factory warranty.
I’ve just returned from Lowe’s! They will be picking up this Frigidaire in 14 days and I have replaced it with a Whirlpool. Moral to story for an additional $70.00 I am able to exchange this sub-par refrigerator for hopefully satisfactory one. Ready to send flowers to Darnell but was told with an extended contract he had to do it.

You get what you pay for!!! Thought I would get a reputable decent refrigerator at Lowe's. Bought model no. LFHT2131QF0. It is a cheaply built (wish I could return it). The door shelves are thin plastic which fall off if bumped. I've had my fridge less than a year and I can't count the no. of times those shelves have fallen. Finally this last time the shelf cracked and needs to be replaced. I am so sorry I purchased it. Purchased on 2/25/15. Went back to Lowe's to inquire re replacement. Salesman basically said "So sad, too bad. You can order part online and pay delivery charges or try to get it around here."

LGHB2867PF2 - On November 4, 2013, we bought and had the subject refrigerator delivered to our new home. We paid 2,300.00 for this model. Within the first six months the in door ice maker froze up. Called repairman suggested by Frigidaire. They came out and used a hair dryer to thaw it. It worked for a little while and stopped. I called the repair company again and they came out and replaced the ice maker (under warranty).
In September 2015, the ice maker made a horrible loud noise on and off. The next day the ice maker stopped working again. Repairmen came and determined that the motherboard needed replaced. Being over a year, the fridge is no longer under warranty. They ordered the part and came back to install it. Cost: $267.00. That same day before the repairman came, I noticed the freezer temperature was reading 34. The repairman fixed the motherboard and then examined the freezer issue. He informed me that the weight of the freezer contents had bent the tracks that the door slides on. Now it is no more than half full. It is just my husband and I using it and there are no children in the house. So it is not used hard. Isn't a freezer supposed to hold frozen food? He told me if I replaced the gasket it may prolong me replacing the door and tracks.
After being totally fed up, my husband called Frigidaire and was informed that they would do nothing because it was not under warranty. They did offer to sell us a $400.00 service contract. There are hundreds of complaints all over the Internet on this same refrigerator model, with the same problems. I can't understand why these pieces of junk are not recalled. This refrigerator is a year old and you mean to tell me I should be having all of these problems? The repairmen all say they have numerous calls on the same problems with this style of refrigerator.
I am retired and on a limited income. I can't afford to be putting money into the refrigerator all the time. I had to tell them to not order parts for the freezer door. I can't afford to fix it. I am using duct tape to keep it closed. This company needs to be forced to make this right. In the photos you can see that the freezer does not line up with refrigerator door. Also, you can see how much food I keep in the freezer. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

After much research I have found that this is a problem on many models so they either know of the issue and don't care or have no clue how to fix it. We bought the LGHT1837LP4 refrigerator-freezer with an extended warranty from Lowe's in March 2014. The unit sits in our garage and is opened infrequently, perhaps twice a week. The freezer accumulates ice near the upper right-hand corner where an irregular corner joint on the cabinet prevents a firm seal. The Lowe's dispatched serviceman, from a reputable repair shop we know, replaced the seal when the unit was 12 months old, but the ice build up continued. We have a second service call scheduled next week. I believe the seal failure is due to poor design of the cabinet corner (see photos).

In 2012 we started a long 4-year home remodel that is currently still going on. We started with the kitchen, dining and living room. In November of 2013 we were finally to the point of ordering all the appliances. Thinking that Frigidaire was a terrific company and spending weeks looking at so many different ones I kept coming back to the Frigidaire Gallery at Home Depot. I ordered the stainless steel with smudge-proof Fridge with bottom freezer and built in ice maker (which broke the first 6 months of owning), the dishwasher (which keeps having error messages and I guess it needs a new console already) and the double ovens (no problems... YET).
We spent over $4,000 for all our new appliances. I had the ice-maker replaced, but it still doesn't work right. I am so disgusted with these appliances. They look good but they work like crap. I've made several complaints to anyone that would listen and no responses. My advice to anyone wanting new appliances... DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE!!!

Bought the Frigidaire set at HHGregg 5 yrs ago. The refrigerator is very cheaply made. The door gasket on the refrigerator has been replaced 4 times at $75 each time. The gasket seal is cheaply made and magnet tears through bottom. The light burned the plastic inside top of refrigerator. I think we have replaced every door shelf, drawer and rails in it because they broke. Water filter is almost impossible to replace. Every time something would get in the electric glass top, a fire would start... that has gotten less over time. The door handle to the stove has fallen off 4 times when opening it to take hot food out.
The dishwasher is a disaster. Shortest cycle is 2 hours and dishes still aren't clean. Half the time the water doesn't come up so all you get is the heating element heating up but can't make water come up because it is all digital. You just have to start the 2 hr cycle over. The over range microwave I love and has been unexpectedly great but one of the stovetop lights melted in the socket but I replaced it and wasn't too costly. The microwave is the correct distance from the stove, just made cheaply. Needless to say, I am looking for a new set and won't even consider Frigidaire.

The ice maker was giving intermittent problems. Repairman was called. Pulled refrigerator out and a large portion of the back was rusted and damage was obviously evident all around the rusted area. This damage had been going on for a long time, obviously. Repairman said this refrigerator was "ruined". As far as I knew, there was nothing going on besides the intermittent ice maker. Contacted Frigidaire, sent in requested receipt and pictures of damage. They would get back to me. They did 5 days later with no instructions. By this time I had replaced refrigerator with non-Frigidaire. They asked me if I still had the old refrigerator, I said no. Then they said they could not help me because they would have repaired the old one (how convenient) and I did not buy a Frigidaire replacement (why should I).
The Repairman had warned me that Frigidaire Customer Service was very difficult to work with. He also said since this is a 2nd home I should be glad that I did not have a flood and ruined floors. He also told me that this Refrigerator was made in Mexico and these seemed to be the ones that tended to be defective. I think if they said they were willing to fix this refrigerator, I deserve some compensation. Two months later it broke completely. This, I was told is cosmetic and not covered however they did send me a "complimentary" set of handles. Within a month there was a crack in the second one at the same spot. Obviously a design flaw and I've seen other with the same problem so you would think the maker of the fridge would fix this. All that is needed is a piece of metal in that part of the handle.
Also it suddenly started to get very warm. I took all the food out of the freezer and hit the back right side with the side of my hand and could hear ice cracking back there. Took my hair dryer and held it to the spot and heard ice and water running down inside the back between the outer covering and the inner wall. Fridge cooled after that. We redid our kitchen in February 2014 and purchased the stainless steel Frigidaire Gallery oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The foil immediately adhered to oven and couldn't be removed. Since it was in the manual, I replaced the oven lining.
I used the oven cleaning feature to remove some small spills, and it left white residue that cannot be removed. The more I cleaned the oven (about every other month), the more residue was left and the finish is wearing off. The refrigerator started to make a vibrating noise after about a year. We shifted it so that it wasn't touching anything that could cause the vibration. The vibration stopped, and starts again after an hour. I have to believe this was a fairly severe event because not only did the surface cabinet melt, it also melted and discolored (burned) the insulation behind it. Clearly this is a safety issue!
I am frightened to keep the unit running. I have not yet received a response from the manufacturer, let alone a resolution. I am very much interested in joining a class action lawsuit because based on other posts I see this is a common problem that the manufacturer does not appear to be resolving. I purchased for my mother Frigidaire fridge from Sears in 2010. She lives alone and doesn't cook much except for herself. Two days ago, she smelled burning plastic but could not find smoke in her apartment. She thought maybe it comes from the street or maybe neighbors across the street have bonfire. This senior community is a 3 story building complex where seniors age at least from 65 to 90 years old living inside. Around 4:30 am in the morning, the burning smell so intense but no signs of smoke or fire. She went to kitchen where the smell of burning came from. She moved the Frigidaire fridge away from the wall, the heat and the burning smell was too much. She unplugged the electric cord and opened all windows and doors.
For a 78-year-old woman, God bless her heart and all the seniors in the complex, this is a miracle. What if the fired happened without warning? What if the level of CO is extreme? We did not purchase extended warranty because we did not have enough money. But at least Frigidaire must at least protect consumers from fire hazard. It is only 5-year-old fridge. What if that day she went out of town? What would happened to all the residents that day in the middle of the night? I don't care what product they make. But to have the fridge in the house and it runs 24/7 like any fridge in any house and apartment WITHOUT catching fire is the most important issue. This is a crime and the company must be held accountable for what they did.

We bought this refrigerator in May of 2014. Within two months, the refrigerator began leaking underneath. We were under the year's warranty, and a service repair person came out to repair the problem. Less than 6 months later, the same issue-water gathers at the bottom of the refrigerator and over-spills out the fridge onto the floor. The same service repair company came out again to repair. It worked for about three months, then, again, leaking. Again, the repairman. Again, the leak. By this time, the warranty has expired, and the same service repair company now wants 80.00 to repair the SAME ISSUE they failed to repair.
Frigidaire does not accept responsibility for their product. First they tried to sell me an extended service agreement, then, when I decide to purchase this agreement, it was "Oops, the extended service agreement is not available in your area." During this same time, several parts inside the refrigerator had to be replaced. This included: the door handle, the entire base to the bottom shelf, and one of the bottom drawers. These things cracked and fell apart within the first four months of owning a brand new refrigerator.
I believe this is bad business, and discriminatory, to sell a product in an area, then send inexperienced repairmen to scotch tape, but not repair, the problem, then refuse to sell coverage for the refrigerator under their extended service agreement. This refrigerator is one and one half years old. It has been pouring water from the bottom for about 13 months out of that time.
Aside from the health issues related to this disgusting water, the constant water is now attracting insects. This is a problem, and Frigidaire's solution is NO solution. Sorry, customer, you are on your own. Yes, we know, the product is defective. Yes, we know we failed to properly repair the problem. Yes, yes, we know we are discriminating against consumers in your area by selling you a product that has many issues, then refusing to sell to you a warranty that will cover the constant repairs and replacements that are necessary when owning this product. We're sorry, we understand, wait! Let me transfer you to a number that rings eternally. Don't worry, no one will ever answer!
I would like to be fair and note that the customer service representatives were friendly and tried to be helpful, but they did seem under trained at the least. One rep gave me a service number that was no longer in use. Another transferred me to a number that gives a menu, but when you push, say, 4 for repairs, it rang and no one ever answered. Yet another representative went through many steps and really tried to help by: giving me the outdated number, which I pointed out was not working, called it himself and saw that it was not working; giving me another number, which was the number that rang without answer; placing me repeatedly on hold to speak to a supervisor (but when I asked for a supervisor during the second call, a representative, Shay, told me I had to call the outdated, non-working number and request a supervisor).
Finally, telling me to call back to the number that rings without answer. That, so far has been the conclusion of my complaint. As I type this, the phone is ringing, waiting for someone at Frigidaire customer service in my area to answer. Thanks, Frigidaire, for a wet floor, and not much else.

My son purchased our Frigidaire refrigerator through Direct Buy as a gift when we purchased our new home. The fridge came with a 1-year warranty. We have had this refrigerator for 4 years and have spent approx. $1500.00. On delivery the Control Panel for the Water and Ice did not work and had to be replaced. The fridge makes loud gas popping noises - extra insulation to dampen the noise but the fridge continually make these noises. We had to replace the Ice Maker as it does not shut off so the ice will freezes up over the ice maker. We have to continually monitor the amount of ice we may need and empty the rest. If you shut off the ice maker the rest of the ice melts - you have to bag it and place in the freezer. The Waterline continually freezes - have to empty the freezer and place fridge items in a cooler and defrost over 24 hours for the fridge to work for approx. 1 month!!!
Fridge continually freezes food - Freezer ices up - Customer service 5 months ago, a service call to Frigidaire was suppose to have parts shipped directly to us that would resolve this issue. We have followed up regularly with their customer service and most recently I received a call from the customer service to tell me the part was shipped. Five weeks later I call customer service and they cannot trace the call or the part. They were to call me back and 1 week later I have heard nothing. I was able to finally find the right temperature for the fridge - set at 42. I am not able to defrost my fridge for 24 hours every month so I am doing without water and ice.
I like the external finish on the fridge but for the rest of it - I would highly recommend that no one purchase this product regardless of rebates offered. Oh by the way, customer service had offered us 40% off a new fridge - I will NEVER buy another Frigidaire Product!!! Sutton and Sons have been servicing my appliances and have done a great job for us but they too have not been able to get through to customer service to get the required parts.

FGHF2344MF6: This is the most unreliable refrigerator that I have ever owned. Within the first two months of owning it things started going wrong. The ice maker made six ice cubes a day, the freezer didn't stay cold and three years later, after having repair men come (while still under warranty), it still is doing the same thing. Good thing I kept my 10 year old refrigerator as a back up. One minute the freezer is at 6 degrees, the next it is at 35 degrees without anyone touching a thing and without any frost on the inside of the freezer. I think a generic brand refrig. would be better than this.

Sales associates were not the issue. We purchased a refrigerator that did not cool down when we put our frozen food in it, which measured some coolness, but not cooling down. A few hours later, we called the delivery driver and told him it was not cooling. He said to wait 24 hours, the next morning all our food was bad and hhgregg would not replace the food. I had to call Fridigaire, Fridigaire said they would not responsible to replace food either for a frig that was bad. I was surprised that none were considerate of our loss, You should have offered to replace, I should not have to complain.
I will be using social media to tell everyone not to let a delivery driver take off before he checks to see if a fridge is cooling down. I would not have let your delivery driver take my old fridge if we know that these new fridge had set up COOLING issues. I have had several new and used fridge, we got a fridge that the fan motor did not kick in or the compressor.

The technician left my house after the 7th service call on a refrigerator that isn't 1 year old. The problem is frost build-up inside the freezer compartment in an appliance that is in the garage, so it is opened infrequently - maybe once or twice a day. After adding caulk behind the door seals for both fridge and freezer, replacing the freezer door gasket, replacing the freezer door, and replacing the freezer fan, it now appears that Frigidaire may be on the verge of giving me a new unit. We'll see! The tech who came to my house is dealing with three other Frigidaires that are under warranty and have the same problem. BTW, the service tech said 85%-90% of his calls are on appliances from all manufacturers that are still under warranty. He said the parts used today are ultra-low quality. His recommendation when buying an appliance is ALWAYS buy the warranty. Have a nice day!!

He referred me to one company that repairs Frigidaire. The tech came out and told us what was wrong with the fridge and, dishwasher. He stated that it would take 3 days to get the parts.
3 days later I received a call from that company and I was told that the tech quit and he was the only one that can work the refrigerator. So back to calling Frigidaire, another hour or so with them. Another company called (ANR Appliance). Two days later Frigidaire calls me and told me that their tech can't work on it, because of too many bugs!! And Frigidaire out of Georgia backed them up on their statement about the bugs. Whatever happened to helping the customer? In my opinion Frigidaire DOES NOT WANT TO BACK THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY! Now August 18, 2015 the compressor goes out and this is how the company wants to help. If you want to sell a great product or at least stand behind it offer something. It is not like people always want something for nothing, however when you pay a nice amount of money for something you expect it to last and 6 years for a refrigerator to last is unacceptable.
My parents needless to say went with a Whirlpool this time around. Companies make everything to not last. Nothing like the good old days as my grandmother would say. She has a Whirlpool refrigerator that she has had for 30 years and this is why my parents went with Whirlpool. I hope their product is still as high quality as it was 30 years ago. If not why I will be sure to put another opinion out there. Again, it goes back to people work hard for their money and they expect when they spend a lot of money on something that it will last. Again, I guess we live in a disposable society, so maybe not all individuals would have the same thought process. Hope this helps anyone else out that reads this.

So he called a service repairman, and they set up a time on the following day to come take a look. Well, later that day (Thursday), my parents were in their living room when they heard a loud pop, and then sparks. My father walked into the kitchen where black smoke was coming from the fridge. He opened the doors to the fridge and it was ON FIRE! That's right, flames, smoke, melting plastic! He quickly grabbed a pail of water and put the fire out. (He did unplug it first).
If they had been to the store, or on vacation, it would have burned their house down. If they had been asleep in the middle of the night, the smoke alone would have killed them. They are lucky to be alive and lucky they were home at the time. Needless to say, there was no salvaging any food from the freezer or the fridge. Everything was ruined. By July 2013, we had numerous problems with the ice maker, leaking water. After many calls to customer service and five separate visits by repairmen, Frigidaire gave us a new fridge (same model as the one we bought).
In February 2014, we had more problems with the replacement refrigerator. They replaced a gasket because we had problems again with the ice maker. But now there is a new problem. The display on the outside the refrigerator climbed to 52 degrees for the refrigerator section. The freezer section stayed at 0 degrees. It then started dropping back to 37 degrees (this is the temperature we set the refrigerator). It did this several times. We again called customer service who sent out a repair person. They were not able to diagnose the problem because the fridge seemed to be working properly. When it happened again, we called the repair company directly and they ordered and replaced a computer board.
It is now August 9, 2015 and rather than holding the temperature at 37 degrees, the display now shows 25 degrees and I have frozen lettuce. We know the display is probably correct because we bought a thermometer for the refrigerator and it agrees with the display. Because it is Sunday, I will need to wait until Monday to call customer service. The unit is just over 2 years old, but fortunately we bought the extended warranty. Shortly after Christmas, my elderly mother who lives alone far away from me bought a modest Frigidaire refrigerator and had it delivered to her home in Terre Haute, Indiana. In June 2015, she noticed that water was leaking inside the refrigerator compartment and called for service from the manufacturer. This has been going on for nearly two months and has been told by both companies that they are "sorry" for our inconvenience.
What my mother and I have been through to get her refrigerator repaired or replaced has been nothing short of a nightmare. Spending hours on the telephone with the Frigidaire Corporate Customer Service Department and H.H. Gregg has been nothing short of a total waste of time. I would insist that companies such as H.H. Gregg and Frigidaire have the ability to intervene and replace a defective item as a gesture of goodwill. Then the retailer goes about getting reimbursed or credited from the manufacturer or they just right this off of a customer service goodwill account. Both companies have proven that neither believes in customer satisfaction and customer goodwill is not in their vocabulary.
To date, 3 separate repair attempts have failed and my mother has copies of the warranty tickets totaling nearly $800 and considering the retail cost of my mother’s refrigerator was very modest in the $500 range, the warranty repair tickets costs have greatly surpassed that number already. The worst part is that her refrigerator is still not repaired. In the long run, we may very well need to purchase a new refrigerator to end this inconvenience and my mother can get back to her daily life, which does not include tending to her refrigerator with daily clean up.
I called Frigidaire again today and wasted another hour of my life trying to get this resolved for my mother. I asked the simple question of "At what point does Frigidaire stop throwing warranty repair money at a product and replace it when multiple repair attempts have failed?" The answer I received was hysterical. "When the repair technician tells us the product can not be repaired, he is to take pictures and send those in." I told them that the repair technician is billing between $175 - $250 a trip to come and work on a refrigerator.
I asked why would anyone want to give up a cash cow as lucrative as this. And who at Frigidaire oversees this and has the ability to stop the repair sub-contractor from bleeding the company dry. They had no answers. The "customer service" representatives are like robots fielding calls and typing a few keystrokes into a computer. I was told that her case is in review to find another repair technician, a process I am told will take probably another week. Then a new repair team will start milking the Frigidaire cow for another $800 or more. What a great system and I am just sorry I am not in the appliance repair business. It seems to be quite lucrative.
In the long run, I may have to concede that we wasted $500 purchasing an appliance from H.H. Gregg. I will, however, promise that I will dedicate a substantial amount of my free time to stir up enough bad press and publicity that a $500 replacement refrigerator will end up looking like a bargain. I am angry and I am persistent. I will find the email address for every consumer advocate reporter, corporate manager, CEO and Board Member of both companies. If the stock holders are wondering why they are not seeing profits, just let them read my story which sounds like it is widespread. I am one consumer that will never buy anything branded as Frigidaire and will educate as many people as possible about it.

My French Door bottom freezer Frigidaire refrigerator which I purchased less than two years ago suddenly quit working two days ago and displayed an error code SY CF on the screen. One year earlier the freezer ice maker quit and two months the top ice maker quit feeding ice properly. After calling the repairman in he said the control board was fried and replaced it for $400. This is the worst appliance I have ever seen and can't believe I didn't buy an extended warranty. The repair guy suggested putting a surge protector on the plug in as the control board is very sensitive to power surges but wait five minutes to plug in the fridge after installing the protector.

FHHT1831QE - The handle has now broken twice in less than 6 months and Frigidaire said "OH well it is cosmetic. We will send you another." Do not buy Frigidaire/Electrolux - does not stand behind their products. The refrigerator is loud and pieces snap off easily.

We purchased a Frigidaire Side-by-Side with ice in the door. Number one, it is only a year and a half old and the freezer is icing up but besides that, we had a problem with the ice maker not making ice. So we called for service and was given numbers for service in our area. I called the numbers repeatedly but never got a return call. So we called Frigidaire back and was told they would send a new ice maker and that was easy to change them out. That was July 2014. Now it is July 2015 and the ice maker is not making ice again. We were told by Frigidaire that when we installed the ice maker (as we were told) that the warranty was voided.
Our options are to buy an ice maker from Frigidaire or pay for another warranty (over $300). We asked to speak with a supervisor and was hung up on 3 times and then held for over 2 hours. If anyone can assist me, please call **. Frigidaire 30 years ago was a good brand. We are building a new house and I can guarantee that none of my appliances will have the Frigidaire name on it.

Our family is extremely disappointed in the customer service we received on Friday, July 10, 2015. After purchasing our refrigerator only seven months ago, we were shocked to find that it was not working. When we called customer service and spoke to a representative, she told us that no one could come out until the following week Thursday. My wife, very imprudently, told her that my mother needed a refrigerator immediately because she is diabetic and undergoing chemotherapy treatments. We rely heavily on the refrigerator for her medications.
The customer representative was at first understanding however as the conversation ensued she became more and more impatient. We were told we had to follow up with the contracting company ourselves. We do admit that we allowed our frustrations to get the better of us but to have us call the contracting company and make arrangements is totally unacceptable. When we did call the contracting company, they told us they could have someone here immediately. We will never be purchasing something from this company again.

About 4 years ago, we purchased a high end Gallery Series Frigidaire refrigerator. Within the first year, the ice maker went out in the door and the control pad on the door stopped working. It was right when the 12-month warranty ended. Frigidaire after repeated calls agreed to pay for parts but no labor. So I had it repaired. The ice maker never worked again. Repairman said it could not be fixed. Now the freezer will not hold a freezing temperature, keeps fluctuating between 15 and 30 degrees. This has by far been the worst refrigerator we have ever had. After 4 years and $1800 for initial cost and who knows what this repair will be cost, we are out of luck. I would not recommend Frigidaire to anyone.

It broke at nine months. Four repairmen and five home visits and they finally decided to replace. It has been six weeks since we started this process. They are always polite but I am still without a refrigerator. They are going to try to order another one in the next five working days. Then have it shipped. I really don't believe them anymore.

Bought a black finish side by side Frigidaire in 2013. 2015 woke up to smoke filled house. Flames coming out of bottom back left side. Could have died in my sleep. Someone needs to recall these. Very dangerous. Stay away from Frigidaire.

Purchased the whole series of the Gallery. 14 months later, the icemaker is completely rusted. Called Frigidaire to find out what can be done. Was told that it was impossible to rust. Out of warranty. I asked to purchase a new icemaker drawer with the metal components. I was told they would not sell it to me because I am not a licensed contractor. I would have to use one of their service vendors.
Now, they did offer to sell me a one year or a 2 year warranty, and then they would give the part just this once after I also paid their contractor to come out and replace it. Said that I may not know how to put in a ice maker container correctly and would ruin the integrity of their product. What a joke. I will never ever buy any of their products again. I'm sorry that I didn't insist on taking appliances from our last home. :( I did find a local appliance company that actually keeps these in stock. And can you believe I can "install" it myself.
