We bought our Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator 18 months ago. We have gotten used to the whining coming from the fridge when it makes ice. We have also gotten used to water forming on the bottom of the ice maker which restricts the rotation of the ice from the back to the front of the tray. When we try to push for ice, there's noise but little to no ice comes out, even though the basket is full of ice. Four weeks ago, the temp of the refrigerator section began fluctuating from 33 degrees to 55 degrees and back down again. We are working with a technician, assigned to us from our home warranty company, who told us that ours is the fourth Frigidaire refrigerator he has worked on in the last 30 days with the same problem. He stated that Frigidaire is aware of the problem (not defrosting properly) but has been slow to respond. Per the tech, we have to wait two weeks while the tech tries to get this resolved with Frigidaire. Totally Unacceptable!

Frigidaire Gallery 27.86-cu ft French Door Refrigerator with Dua - This refrigerator has been a nightmare ever since we purchased it Aug. 2016. Under the 1st year warranty Electrolux sent a repairman out 3x because the top ice maker stopped working and the refrigerator and freezer temperature fluctuated high and then low. We had to throw out 3 full refrigerators full of spoiled food. WE CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE. They don't seem to care, all they do send another repair guy out 2 weeks after the call. Now our year warranty is up and we had to buy the extended warranty because we didn't trust the refrigerator.

Guess what? It is now Oct 2 and our refrigerator temperature has been 55 degrees for 4 days. All food is thrown away again and customer service is sending another repair guy out in 2 weeks...2 weeks...WHAT THE HECK??? Electrolux needs to man up and admit you have produced another LEMON. RECALL the dumb refrigerator!!! DO NOT BUY this refrigerator and if anyone is selling on the secondary market, it's most likely one that the company won't fix and the owners are trying to sell so they can buy one that works! NIGHTMARE!!!

I purchased this Frigidaire Side by Side French Door refrigerator because I already had Frigidaire Gallery appliances (both an electric stove and a microwave oven which are years old and working fine). Upon installation, my new Frigidaire Gallery did not function properly because it was not cooling as per the manufacturer's manual (it took over 24 hours to cool and had to be set at the lowest temperatures possible). After it cooled, we turned the temperature back to the manufacturer defaults (0 degrees for the freezer and 37 degrees for the refrigerator). Then the unit froze any item in the refrigerator side that was next to the wall separating the freezer side (liquids, eggs, vegetables, etc.) and I had to move them out/away from the wall separator for them to thaw (or put some of the items outside of the refrigerator).

The construction quality was so poor that the French Doors were not aligned properly and the technician sent by Brandsmart could not correct the matter. He also said that the refrigerator was cooling properly (that was before we discovered the frozen food issue). And finally said that Frigidaires were made by robots and that they were not perfect (I took THAT issue up with Brandsmart). The refrigerator's seals were defective and improperly installed causing cold air to leak out when the doors were closed. Inside, beside the wall separation insulation issue, there were loose screws holding up panels as well as a loose panel that simply clipped onto the walls and could come off easily if an object was placed too close. The panel was not sealed and you could see water lines behind it.

The ice and water dispenser were poorly designed and easily spilled constantly, PLUS the water temperature was never even cool, but at room temperature. FINALLY, the refrigerator was noisy and had various different sounds that it emitted almost all of the time. Frigidaire devoted two pages to "refrigerator noises", so obviously this was a design/function issue that must have been problematic for them and they addressed it in the User/Owner's Manual in order to prepare the customer and let them know this was normal.

They explained that the noises came from a variety of sources inside the unit (and they described about 12 different working parts or areas where one would hear noises). THIS is the NOISIEST REFRIGERATOR that I have ever HAD or HEARD... MORE SO THAN EVEN MY OLDEST ONES DATING BACK 40+ YEARS!!!! To add insult to injury, I contacted Frigidaire on their website and they sent an email reply that I would be contacted by their representative within 48 hours and over a week later I am still waiting for them to call or email me. I will NEVER buy or recommend Frigidaire's refrigerator line to anyone.

My wife and I bought a refrigerator as well as a dishwasher and within a year started having issues with both. I have been able to do my own repairs on the dishwasher to keep it up and running but with the refrigerator, that was a different issue. It started freezing up in the back making the ice and water dispenser inoperable. We would be able to defrost it using a hair dryer. We also had a few people come out to look at it. The latest was an actual Frigidaire technician. Even he didn't know what was wrong with it without consulting the company.

Long story short, it was a manufacturer’s defect (according to Frigidaire), no insulation in the back. After speaking with Frigidaire, they would only give us a 20% rebate upon buying a new refrigerator. We've decided to go a different route. This has been an ongoing issue since we bought the fridge. The supervisor from Frigidaire was also very curt when speaking with my wife, telling her they didn't even have to give us the 20% rebate. I would recommend going with a different brand. Customer support and product have left a bad taste in our mouths.

I am on my 5th repair and it's still not working properly. On top of that, the repairs that were done left a mess on the seal - greasy silicone on the door in order for it to seal properly so the crisper wouldn't freeze over. It started with condensation dripping from the water dispenser, which took 5 service calls and various parts to replace. In-between the crisper started freezing, so the manufacturer's technician called for silicone to be seal the box in case warm air was getting inside and greasy silicone around the door seal, both making a huge mess and leaving a greasy residue on the seal. Now the fridge temp control is not reading the temp properly, so I don't know if the fridge is cooling down to the correct temperature. This is so unacceptable, and their only response is that they warranty only repairs and will not replace the unit.

I now wish I would have bought a different brand and have no choice but to keep letting people into my house and disrupt my life until the warranty expires a year from now. They did offer me an extension on the warranty, but at this point I don't want to deal with them any longer. I'm at the point of tears and so frustrated that we will be on repair number 6 soon. My food is spoiling from them having to leave my door open for long periods of time while doing repairs and they don't cover food spoilage. If this were any other type of product, I would have been able to return it for another one - but appliance purchases don't work that way - how unfair.

I called for service and repairman said was compressor and not worth cost to fix. I called Frigidaire and was told there was no recall for product and since it was over a year old couldn't help.

I call Lowe's a million times and they said is Frigidaire problem then I call Frigidaire and the lady was awfully rude, she told me it is Lowe's problem because the extended warranty and that they have nothing to do. Frigidaire I'm the one who have the problem and it has been a year already, as a brand you are not competitive. I WILL NEVER, NEVER buy anything made of your brand. I have a four year old Frigidaire French door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom (model no. FFHB2740PS1). The ice maker began to stop working intermittently. I replaced the ice maker and solenoid valve twice. The problem persisted. The last technician told me that there was a design flaw with this product that Frigidaire was aware of, and had a possible fix. That fix included a kit consisting of a foam insulation pad for the back of the unit plus several replacement parts for the inside of the ice making unit. I agreed to try the repair.

The technician installed this kit and the ice maker worked fine for about a week. Now, the inside of the ice storage is compartment is apparently too warm and the ice is slowly melting and then partially refreezing in the ice bin. I am getting water leaking out of the bottom of the ice maker and then freezing on the back wall of the inside of the refrigerator. In addition, the ice has once again stopped working. Apparently, there is no solution to this problem. The refrigerator has a design flaw that cannot be resolved. It's a shame to spend nearly $2000 on a refrigerator that is essentially junk after just four years. I would stay away from Frigidaire products as well as any refrigerator that has the ice maker in the refrigerator part of the unit. It needs to be in the freezer portion.

The brand is no longer what it used to be. That's what made me choose the brand. So disappointed in my model. Top shelf has water filter and another motor (vent) jutting out taking up much needed room on top shelf. It also freezes anything near the vent. Fridge makes so much noise all day. Ice maker jams often. Not enough inside shelf space for family of 4. Plastic shelves not strong enough to hold weight. I have broken shelves, (1) year. Freezer has one small bulb so cannot tell what's on other shelves beside top one. Too bad. So sad.

We purchased a new Frigidaire refrigerator for one of our apartments in July of 2016. The fridge was not able to keep food consistently cold, and things kept freezing and melting in the freezer. In July of 2017 we put in a service request. The service company that came, Suzur Electronics was terrible. They were rude and the technician reported that he had no idea what was wrong with it, but ordered some parts and came back and replaced them. He never told us when or if he was done. He just left.

The fridge was continuing to do the same thing, so we called Suzur back and they sent him again. He called the technician department of Frigidaire while at our home and they decided somehow that it was working fine. He did nothing. He said there was nothing else he could do. The next day the temperature was back up above 45 degrees again. I called Frigidaire and was told after being on hold for 20 minutes that because I had purchased an extended warranty from them over the phone recently, they would have to transfer me to that department, even though this repair was under the initial warranty.

Another 20 minute hold. They told me that even though Suzur Electronics said there was nothing else they could do, I would have to have ANOTHER technician come out to determine if it was fixable under the extended warranty! So we are waiting for a new person to come out to see if we can get the fridge repaired or replaced and they cannot come until the end of September. I will NEVER buy a Frigidaire again. Very poor customer service system. The actual person on the line was very kind and patient, but their system is atrocious.

I purchased a new Frigidaire refrigerator at Ivan Smith on 3-3-15. In June 2017 I had to have a repair company come to my house twice to repair the refrigerator. The fan in the freezer had frozen up and was not able to push the cold air up to the refrigerator. I lost most things in my refrigerator. In August 2017, the fan froze up again and once again I will have to throw away most of the things in my refrigerator again. I called Frigidaire and they provided no assistance and could not tell me why my refrigerator fan kept freezing up on a 2 1/2 year old refrigerator. The girl I spoke to told me, and I'm not kidding, that they had no one at Frigidaire that could assist me with this problem. I then called Ivan Smith requesting their assistance with this problem. They provided no assistance either even though this was a fairly new refrigerator that I purchased at Ivan Smith.

I was talking to the manager at Ivan Smith. I called Ivan Smith back to let them know that the repair company they told me about would not be able to come to my house until 9-11-17. I was told the Ivan Smith manager was on the phone with a customer but they would have him call me back as soon as he got off the phone. He never even bother to call me back. I will NEVER buy another Frigidaire appliance nor will I ever give my business to Ivan Smith. I just returned home from purchasing a new $1,500 refrigerator since neither Frigidaire nor Ivan Smith were concerned that my new $1,000+ fairly new refrigerator was broken again for the third time. I would like to warn everyone to NEVER buy a Frigidaire appliance as they basically have no customer service to assist customers. If I could give zero stars for this review, I would have selected zero stars.

My ice/water dispensers have not worked properly since the day my fridge was delivered. First, Lowe's did not install a cord for the water. They sold me a 5' cord, and it needed a 10' cord. So the delivery man threw it at me and told me to get a 10 foot, and to install it myself... "It's easy." I called for 3 weeks and they claimed they didn't have a 10'. Finally, talked to Lowe's Service Advantage and they had someone come out to install the 10' cord, but this man determined something is wrong with the fridge... It still didn't work. Again, Lowe's Service Advantage had their service repair people come out. They claimed they didn't have the part. They would return once the part was received.

It has now been almost 3 weeks and I can't reach this "Pliance Experts." I leave messages and they do not return my calls. I have had to call Lowe's Service Advantage again! At this point, I should have a new fridge! They said I do not qualify! I have to wait 5 more business days for follow up. All this to say... We are very unhappy with our Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator model FGHC2331PF6. Not only does the ice maker underperform at making enough ice, but the ice it does make is larger than the hole for dispensing it, so it almost always gets stuck. Also the seal to the freezer door often pops loose when you use the refrigerator door, so you need to check that the freezer is still closed. It's a very annoying appliance overall.

On 10/26/ 2015, I purchased a Gallery 26 cu ft Side-By-Side refrigerator with single ice maker-stainless steel-energy star from Lowe's of S. Jacksonville, Fl. - model # FGHS2631 for $1,300.00, plus $120.00 for an extended warranty. I have been dissatisfied from day one and it gets worse each day. The ice maker is a disaster; ice gushes out like an avalanche and goes all over the floor; it makes crushed instead of cubes and clogs the opening which turns on the water that pours onto the floor.

In June 2016 a repairman came out for repairs but it did not help much. In July 2017 he came again and replaced the ice maker and a bottom drawer which never worked. Today, August 19, 2017, the cubes clogged up again then released cubes all over the floor and the water turned on and flooded the floor also (This happens often). I have called Frigidaire customer service and they said I had to deal with Lowe's because I have an extended warranty; Lowe's said the extended warranty is with – Best Services of America, Inc., so I have to settle with them. Again, all this increases my stress which I do not need. I desire to claim “Lemon Law” in this connection; I am 83 years old and caregiver for my wife of 62 years who has Alzheimer Disease and I can't deal with the problems of this refrigerator. I am also a Korean War Veteran with an honorable discharge. Please help me by allowing me to have a replacement refrigerator. Thank you so much.

For months we could not even get someone in to service it. "No one in the area that can handle the problem" frigidaire said. Finally someone came out, fixed it, a week later broken again... Since then we have had Frigidaire tell us that it is not their problem, not under their manufacturer's warranty. Hired and paid Sears who came out 4 times.

Today the ice maker still does not work, water does not dispense. Temp does not regulate, always warms up on both freezer and fridge. I have to continually drain water from the bottom of the top fridge, and the bottom freezer is full of ice on the wall in back of drawer. I have a "like" brand new fridge that I now have to discard because my food does not stay at the regulated temp. I have to continually reset to 3/32 and it does not stay there. I spent upwards of 3k new. I now have to buy a new fridge.

After 19 yrs my Maytag refrigerator stopped working. It was a great refrigerator & never had a problem. I went to Lowe's as they had a sale and bought a Frigidaire 18 meter replacement. I should of returned it immediately as I could tell it was poorly made, the shelves were unsturdy but I live alone, am a senior & disabled so thought I will just keep it. I had bought three appliances that month not all on the same date & I got confused or I could of had it fixed or returned. Now it is 2 years old and all the plastic bars that hold in your items on the side doors are broken so I have white duct tape on all of them. Plus I have to keep a towel on top shelf as it leaks from the freezer. When Lowe's brought it over they did not even set the control buttons on normal settings, so all my ice cream melted & it caused a mess. The control button to the freezer you cannot change unless I get a blow dryer out as it gets frozen.

Everything about the refrigerator is cheaply made and now I have to buy a new refrigerator, my Maytag lasted 18 years with No problems. I should of bought an extended warranty but I have a home warranty but they won't cover it because it is made so poorly it is not covered under my policy. I have tried to call their customer service line and can't ever get a hold of them. I should of taken care of this last year but I have been ill and I only have energy to do the basics but today as I opened it up with the stinky towel I am fed up. I don't know if Lowe's might help me as I have spent thousands of dollars at their store. I bought this on 7/13 and it was broken at the end of June 2015, but I also bought a washer & dishwasher so I was confused on the dates. I realize it is not the top of the line refrigerator, however 11 months & it starts falling apart. I am on a fixed income and it was all I could afford.

The saleslady at Lowe's said she owned the same model as the one I bought and said it is a great refrigerator and I trusted her. I will take blame for not contacting them sooner but as I mentioned I have a chronic illness & was confused what date I bought it. You can argue it was my fault but seriously a refrigerator only standing up for 11 months is below standards. My Maytag lasted 18 years with no issues, but it wasn't made of plastic products.

I see I am not the only one that is complaining about their poor products so maybe we can get a class action suit against them for selling substandard products! If you could help me in anyway I would be so grateful. If Lowe's & Frigidaire would allow me a credit towards a new refrigerator I would be very happy. I have to replace it as the water keeps leaking and I am nervous about using a blow dryer inside my small freezer to change the settings as I know it is not a safe combination. I would appreciate any assistance you could offer me.

Within one week of purchasing our French Door Frigidaire refrigerator in July 2016, the ice maker was leaking. Since then, we have had a repair company out 10 times and the 11th will be tomorrow. After speaking with representatives from Electrolux for almost a year trying to get this resolved, I emailed the CEO and another bigwig whose territory is North America. I finally was offered a new unit with the stipulation that we pay over $200 for installation and delivery. This was a defect in their unit that was never fixed and we would be taking money out of our pocket to take our chances on another malfunctioning refrigerator.

After reading the other negative reviews and viewing a previous class action lawsuit, it is evident that the ice-maker defect was never fixed. We do not want to replace our defective unit with yet another comparable unit. We have been asking for a full refund, but the company refuses. I am appalled at the customer service we have received over this past year, and I urge anyone thinking of buying a Frigidaire appliance to spend your money on appliances from companies that actually take care of their consumers. The person I spoke with told me multiple times it sounded like I was leaving the freezer door ajar. Please. I'm 67, I have left a door ajar, and this is not a result of that!

The appointment they gave me was today, July 6, anytime between 8 and 5 so around noon I decided to call Frigidaire to make sure someone was coming. Guess what? Their call to the repair company was rejected but they never bothered to check so no one is coming today! Now I'm supposed to wait until July 12. This is running water, folks! So I called Lowe's Consumer department who was a little more sympathetic but did nothing but confirm the July 12 appointment. Gee, thanks, Lowe's, won't buy from you or Frigidaire next time.

We purchased a Frigidaire Gallery fridge about 2 years ago. From the very beginning the water dispenser never dispensed cold water... It was room temperature. Within 6 months the display no longer displayed all of the characters so it is hard to read the display. The grill at the bottom of the fridge broke off. The ice dispenser requires a lot of patience. The ice maker in the freezer itself doesn't shut off despite the arm lifting to alert the fridge to stop making ice. The fridge has started to make strange noises that weren't there before. For a fridge that cost us almost $2,000 I expected way more stability than this piece of crap has. I'll NEVER buy another Frigidaire product again...

The technician came to check it out, the gas was missing from the unit. Received another one, and the second one is also not working. Everything I put it there went soft/ wrong! Called them I would like to return. They said there is no return just the technician will come out. I do not understand why I cannot return the unit if it is manufacturer default. Why should I keep it for over $800 if it is not working?

Lost all our food. Called Frigidaire (who seemed to care ZERO) they sent a repairman who said this happened all the time with Frigidaire. After several visits and trials from this repairman, fridge started working again. Fast forward 3 months later and the exact same thing happened again. Lost all our food. Frigidaire sent same repairman. He came once and tried something which did not work. Came back with another part and fridge started cooling again.

And now here we are 4 months later and the same exact thing has happened again. Lost ANOTHER fridge full of groceries (we have 2 kids so fridge stays stacked) and have to coordinate meeting the repairman multiple times. I feel like we should invite this repairman to Thanksgiving this year as he is like family now. But Frigidaire on the other hand, you can suck it. Never ever evvvverrrr again will I buy anything from you, and neither will I let anyone that I know make the same mistake I did. Huge waste of time and money and they just don't care at all. I just wanted to warn you should you be considering purchasing any Frigidaire or Electrolux products - that they have really gone downhill and would advise you NOT to purchase. Some facts below; Purchased: Frigidaire Counter Depth Stainless Steel for ~ $2400. Frank's Electric actually comp’d me on the ice maker a 3rd time as well as other parts). Total spent on repairs so far nearly $1700. Early this month, the ice maker and the water dispenser (interface board) failed again AND the back of my fridge is a block of ice due to poor insulation, a known defect. To make this refrigerator 100% operational, it would cost me another $200 minimum in labor + the ice maker $125, the interface board $$160 and valve $95 or another cash outlay of $603.75.

Tom at Frank's Electric has been good and shamefully comes back for the work. He says I have a lemon and that if he continues to replace these parts over and over again, they will continue to fail. I have not issue with Frank's Appliance. However, when dealing with Frigidaire/Electrolux – they were painfully polite and ABSOLUTELY NOT willing to do anything but give me 30% discount on more replacement parts! So bottom line, DO NOT purchase this brand or for that matter, Electrolux as they are part of the same company. To think I choose not to get the default fridge from my builder and instead went with this “upgrade”. They resolution to the problem, continue to invest in replacement parts with a 30% discount on the parts. Illogical and pathetic.

The basket fell on top of the plastic pull out bucket at the bottom and cracked it. The last repairman said Every shelf is detaching from the wall liners because there isn't anything substantial for the shelf to attach to. He told me they aren't designed to hold much food. The shelves aren't strong enough. Fortunately this ice maker works great, but there is a cracked plastic shelf, a cracked vegetable drawer, and the bottom shelf on the door has a broken hook that attaches to the door. They also tried to sell me filters for $40 every 6 months. They also have a empty Cartridge "By Pass Filter" for $43.65. They told me those cracked & broken plastic items are all cosmetic and not covered by warranty. I think you're supposed to only hold TV dinners in the freezer, not real food.

Fortunately I have a warranty and today's repairman wrote "Broken, Can't Fix". My last one had a factory problem and after much grief & aggravation they replaced it. They were awful to deal with & wanted to give me the cheapest replacement w/o drawers. I fought & paid more to upgrade to get a comparable fridge. We need to ban together & get a class action suit!!! They are nasty to deal with and they know they are making junk. One repair man told me their appliances are made to last only 5 YEARS. My microwave door handle fell off. The screw hole where the handle attaches split and the handle fell off. I live alone and rarely use the microwave and take very good care of things. It's $80 for a new handle and $80 for a repairman. They told me to junk it and buy a new one for $225. That is their scam, to wear you down until you give up and buy a new one instead. Don't ever buy a Frigidaire! They make JUNK!!!

I bought a really nice French door Frigidaire Professional Series Fridge in stainless steel. The ice maker started acting funny so I called customer service. Inside the fridge there is a sticker: "For product questions, parts or service call..." I explained that the ice maker was putting out massive chunks of ice, shaped like the bin, meaning water was filling the ice bin and then freezing. The customer service rep's response was for me to "use ice more frequently" and to "take the bin out and shake it twice a week." I told him this was a new thing and that something was wrong and I needed it repaired. At the end of the call he actually said: "I'm so glad I was able to answer your question today" and then proceeded to try and sell me water filters. I told him that actually no, he did NOT help at all, but that did not faze him.

Well, the ice maker is made of flimsy plastic and after a couple of years of dumping the ice, it has a huge crack in it (which is why the ice bin filled up with water before freezing), the flipping mechanism is broken and the sensor that tells the bin when to dump has also broken loose. So... The wires came loose from the sensor, touched water and they shorted out the main control panel of the fridge.

The repair job is almost $500.00. And we won't know until the new circuit panel is installed if any other panels got fried. Thank you Frigidaire Customer Service for NOT helping me. And a special thanks to Frigidaire for making an inferior "top of the line" product with cheap plastic parts that wear out. I will never buy Frigidaire again. Luckily my fiance had gotten up to get a drink of water. I heard him yelling and woke in a foggy haze of a wretched smell of burning rubber and heavy smoke. Jason was able to put the fire out, and thank God neither our Children, dogs, or anything else was harmed. I called Customer Service, waited on hold for an hour. After I explained the situation the rep said "Let me get you the name of a service technician in your area". I asked her "Then what? After the technician comes then what?" She explained that the technician needed to confirm the origin and cause of the fire. I then asked, "Do I have to pay for this tech visit?" To which she said, "Yes, since it's out of warranty you have to pay".

This made no sense to me. Given the techs really work for Frigidaire, why would I pay them to come out and then possibly provide a false report in order to "cover" Frigidaire. She asked if there was any other damage, I told her no, she put me on hold. When she came back she basically told me since there was no other damage, it was out of warranty there was nothing they would do. I expressed my frustration that just because we were fortunate enough and Jason woke up, and nothing else was damaged that we should still receive help. I asked to speak to a manager, and she did get a manager. The manager told me the same thing. Out of Warranty, out of luck. I am totally disgusted. We soon discovered that there was a constant puddle on the top shelf. What seems to be happening is that cold air is coming through a vent over the top shelf and this is causing the warmer air in the fridge to condense onto the shelf. We are able to deal with this problem by having a bowl under the vent which fills with water that needs to be emptied periodically. The is a terrible design.

It appears that thousands of people have the same issue with Frigidaire Gallery Ice makers. Spend thousands for a new refrigerator and within months it stops making ice. Numerous calls to Frigidaire, repair trips, parts ordered, repairman telling you it really can't be fixed and the company doesn't care. "Should have bought the extended warranty." Many have but that was more money wasted since the issue CANNOT BE REPAIRED! I strongly suggest a class action against this company demanding a new non-Gallery unit. Maybe then Frigidaire will wake up and admit the design flaw! As I write this, hundreds more are being sold and until something is done, the issues will continue and Frigidaire continues to sell blatantly bad products and make a ton of money doing so. Where is the oversight?

I have spent over $800.00 on extended warranties, parts, and repairs and they refuse to acknowledge there is a problem with the ice maker. It is obviously a design flaw. They have the nerve to tell me I should have purchased the extended warranty from them at purchase. I expect a $1800.00 fridge to work correctly. I think we have enough dissatisfied consumers to go ahead with a class-action lawsuit. I just got off the phone with Frigidaire and was told they have no knowledge of any ice maker issue with this model fridge. I find that impossible to believe.

I am currently having to replace our second Frigidaire Gallery side-by-side refrigerator in seven years. We bought our first one in 2010 and within a year had the icemaker repaired at least six times. Due to the frequent repairs, which were under warranty, I managed to convince Frigidaire to replace the refrigerator. The second one lasted six years, and performed well, maintaining the same temperature in the fridge and freezer throughout those six years.

However, a few days ago, the freezer temperature started rising, and the repair man advised against repairs, which would be almost as expensive as a new refrigerator. After spending the day shopping and seeing many more gallery refrigerators in the stores, I still believe it is one of the most attractive models out there. I love the curved front and especially the brushed stainless. Unfortunately that is not available on most other models. Due to my very poor experiences with this refrigerator, and the many similar reviews I have read online, I will not be purchasing another Frigidaire. That is unfortunate because years ago this was a very respected and dependable brand.

It would have cost about $400 to fix, or I was offered a 2 year extended warranty for slightly more than that, approx. $500. Now, my warranty is about to expire and somehow I still have a broken ice machine. I have had numerous different companies come to attempt to fix the thing, which is a massive inconvenience in and of itself. You have to schedule the appointment with the subcontractor, and they give you an 8 hour window of when they might be able to come.

Then they show up, stay for a few minutes, then say they have to order parts. This takes another week+, and the same issue with the scheduling comes up. My wife and I work full time, and it is borderline impossible to set aside all this time to wait on these guys to show up. Overall, there has been 9 separate visits of people showing up to either look at or attempt to repair the ice maker, and still no success.

Through all of that, you would think my warranty will still be ok, but no, since the companies that Frigidaire enlisted to fix my ice maker did not call in with the exact problem each time they showed, and it needs to be the exact same part replaced 4 separate times, my warranty is about to void. They consider anything working after 30 days a completely fixed product. This company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Avoid at all costs. Over the next year, the service tech was out approx 6-8 times, all due to ice maker freezing up. The last time, the service tech (very happy with their service ) talked to troubleshooter with Frigidaire and they agreed to send out an "add on" insulation kit as this was an obvious problem. The kit included extra insulation for the entire back and around ice maker.

There is no doubt this was a design flaw as this was an add on part and not a replacement. Well, the refrigerator worked fine until recently, and now the same problem. Frigidaire offered to sell me a warranty and I told them I do not want to put another dime into a defective product. Bottom line, I'm 62 years old and this is by far the worst appliance I have ever purchased. I would be very leary of buying this product. I am stuck with a lemon that is approx 2 1/2 years old. We bought we thought at the time the top of the line from Frigidaire their Gallery Line. What a nightmare with the upper ice maker. We have the French Doors with lower pull out freezer. The upper ice maker ice quits making ice and we have had the repairman out here 6 times including after the 5th time to replace it. This one quit making ice as well so the repairman brought out his hair dryer to unfreeze the fan which seems to be the problem. He was just here less than a month ago and it has stopped again. The ice cubes coming out before it quit were not fully frozen and in fact water was leaking from the ice maker dispenser chute onto the shelf of the refrigerator. Their warranty says they will replace with a brand new appliance if the technicians determine your is beyond repair. After 15 months of frustration I think we should ask them to honor their warranty.

The Lemon Law won't be applied to this as Lowe's says the ice maker isn't covered in that part of a replacement clause. So, if I get this straight, the ice maker (which they don't consider part of the fridge) malfunctions over and over and over, but it's not eligible for a replacement fridge. How ridiculous. What's worse is that BOTH Lowe's and Frigidaire continue to sell a faulty product that they KNOW is faulty! If I could give this review zero stars, I would. Where do I even start: bought a Frigidaire refrigerator and freezer in the Spring of 2016. We've only had problems with it. First, the shelves came chipped. We contacted Frigidaire so we could return them. Instead, they first wanted pictures of the damaged shelves. Like who's gonna contact you to replace damaged shelves for the heck of it. So we of course sent them pictures first, and then eventually they managed to send us new shelves.

Then, while all of this was going on, the temperature of both the freezer and fridge were out of control. They were too high. The freezer was in the positive degrees, and the fridge was almost in the double digits! So we kept calling Frigidaire and they finally sent someone to take a look. Every time the technicians came, they broke more things than they fixed. This continued on and off for ten months. They've come to "fix" our fridge and freezer a total of 6 times! And they still don't work!

Their customer service phone line closes at 6pm which is ridiculous. What if people have issues in the evening, like restaurants etc.? What do they do, have all their food and products ruined because no one at Frigidaire is there to pick up the phone? Everything from their customer service, to their products, to their technicians are all incredibly horrible. There actually isn't one good thing I can say about them. They first grab your money when you buy their products, and then the technicians keep coming every couple of months so they can grab some money for themselves too. They're all a bunch of crooks. Thankfully we are still under our 1 year warranty and cannot wait to get these two pieces of junk, both the fridge and freezer, out of here. As a warning to anyone who is thinking of buying any, any at all, Frigidaire products. Do yourself a favour and keep your sanity and your hard-earned money by buying somewhere else.

The refrigerator (Gallery side by side) itself is ok, but the ice maker makes the appliance far less than desirable. The ice maker makes too much ice which then overfills the ice container. Then the ice cubes stick together so that when you try to dispense ice nothing comes out. So you need to open the freezer, shake the container and hopefully free up enough ice to get the unit to dispense.

Often ice cubes get stuck in the dispensing chute. Then again, you need to open the freezer door and try to dislodge the stuck ice. Then when you again close the door and try again to dispense ice, more often than not a huge blast of ice comes out overflowing everywhere all over the floor. By the time you're done with all that and picking the ice off the floor. I've had service folks in and they tell me that this model is known for that and there is no fix other than to daily dump out ice from the container as it overfills. Really poor design. You're better off using old fashioned ice trays.

We have tried to make our case with BEST BUY and the manufacturer but we have been given the middle finger instead. Yeap, after all that money we wish we would have kept the old one. The satisfaction review should be from 0 to 5 because we don't want to give this refrigerator not even a 1. I purchased a Frigidaire Refrigerator, Model # FFHS2611LWC, SERIAL # 4A33910867 from Lowe's on 2 Dec 2013 and delivered & installed on 4 Dec 2013. I did not buy an extended warranty, as they are a waste of money. Incidently, our previous refrigerator was a Whirlpool, that lasted well over 20 years. We thought that at that age, it was time to update. Also, I cleaned up that refridge and sold it for $150.00 and it was still working fine. Now, this piece of junk that we are stuck with has giving me Ice Maker problems almost since day one. On 6 June 2015, (about a 1 1/2 years old) after calling Frigidaire, was told to call a local appliance repair co. The technician said it needed a new Ice Maker. When I asked an approximate price for the maker, I was floored, plus the replacement charge. I had already paid him $43.29 for his "VISIT".

I then purchased an Ice Maker, original equipment, and replaced it myself, as I am mechanically inclined. I paid less than he quoted and also got a military discount. It took about 20 minutes or less to replace it. It worked fine for a while. It then started again with the same problem. Luckily, I kept the original one and replaced it. Now, when it acts up, I switch them out. I have already done this at least 3 times. I believe, it is a defectively made part, but Frigidaire refuses to admit it. We are just about ready to buy a new fridge but, believe me, it will NOT be another Frigidaire. I highly recommend anyone in the market for a Refrigerator, DON'T BUY FRIGIDAIRE, you'll regret it.

After trying to find the source of the smell of smoke I found out it was coming from behind the fridge. When I looked on the bottom and took the back cover off I saw a small fire and sparks. I immediately unplugged the refrigerator and now all my food is going bad.

Customer Service is unavailable. Totally ridiculous... If we wouldn't have woken up who knows what would have happened. I cannot reconnect it as we have a gas line running behind our stove directly next to the refrigerator. Terrifying. Could have been devastating. Need an immediate resolution to this issue. If no response within 24 hours we will be contacting our lawyer. The ice maker has several issues: 2-4 ice cubes stick to gather and jam ice dispenser. You then have to open the freezer and fish them out of the dispenser. They will also come out all at once blasting ice all over your kitchen. The third issue is the motor will run to dispense ice for like 30 seconds then spit out chipped ice when you want cubes and immediately followed by cubes overflowing your glass blasting ice all over the floor. I have had this refrigerator for four years and go through one of these issues daily. It is obnoxious and frustrating. If I could afford a new one this one would be on the curb. About 18 months ago, I purchased a brand new Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator. Immediately I noticed that the ice maker was going to be an issue. I dealt with the problems for about six months, then used my extended warranty and got a new ice maker installed. Immediately I knew it is a design flaw. The ice maker has several major issues: ice comes out connected, usually 2-4 cubes together, then they get stuck in the dispenser causing a backup. You have to open the door and manually take all the ice out of the door. Or, they come out all at once, blasting ice all over your kitchen. Absolutely ridiculous.

My 10 year old GE refrigerator I had before had the original ice maker that worked 100 times better! The cold drawer was freezing all the contents and the switching relay was turning on and off. The initial call to customer service was not great - the customer service agent told me the relay switching on and off is normal and "that there is nothing they can do, this is normal operating conditions". The cold drawer freezing the food warranted a service call - the technician determined there was a manufacturing defect and the sensor would need to be replaced. When we asked about the relay he too said this was normal. I also showed the technician that the left side of the French door will not stay open unless you're supporting it. His response was the waterline is in the way and won't allow the door to stay open.

2 weeks later the technician returned to replace the sensor which seems to be fine. No fix for the door and no fix for the relay turning on and off (4:00 AM). I spoke with customer service again today about the relay and was once again told there is nothing they can do to fix this however they would schedule a technician to come out and look at the problems but if they didn't find any issues we would be charged for the service call. Humans HAVE to stop producing things that litter our planet with products we cannot dispose of. These filter should be reusable. It's all about the money. These filters require wasting 15 GALLONS!!! Of water (undrinkable) before using. That is outrageous. We have lost 4 trillion gallons every yr. For the last 5 yrs. In water from lack of rain. I bought the Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator, dishwasher and range on November 23, 2015 from Lowe's. Lowe's installed all three appliances. The refrigerator model is LGHT1846QF. In May 2016, I noticed a slight buildup of frost on the outside of the freezer compartment. The buildup was about 6 inches long and to the right of center. I called Lowe's with the problem but was informed that it was a Frigidaire problem and not a Lowe's. I went online to the Frigidaire website and found the phone number of the authorized repair company in the Louisville, KY area, which was Universal Appliance Service. After explaining the problem, a technician was sent out on June 6 2016. The technician checked the freezer door gasket and determined that there was no problem with the gasket or the suction of the door to the compartment.

I continued to monitor the situation during the summer and noticed that the frost buildup became more severe as humidity increased. I called Frigidaire and explained the problem to them. They created a work order with Universal Appliance Service and a technician came out August 19, 2016 to check the situation. It was obvious that heavy frost was building in the same location but the technician checked the gasket and determined that the gasket was sound - the suction strong. He suggested I apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly around the gasket to ensure strong suction of the door with the compartment. I did as instructed. The frost continued to appear in the same spot. By this time, I was pretty frustrated and called Frigidaire to let them know that nothing was solving the problem. They created another work order that was sent to another of their authorized service companies, Broughton Appliance Service.

The owner came out and knocked around the outside of the freezer box. He determined that the problem was due to inadequate insulation in the top of the refrigerator box. He said he would get the repair kit and return for the repair. However, he had a major accident and was unable to return for the repair. I called Frigidaire and gave them the history of my attempts to get the problem fixed. I told the customer service representative that I felt that I was due a replacement refrigerator because the problem persisted through multiple attempts to identify the problem and resolve it. I was informed that they could not replace the appliance unless the service technician certified that the unit was irreparable. Frigidaire put in another work order with Universal Appliance Service.

A third, different technician came out to troubleshoot the issue. He removed the gasket and inserted silicone caulking around the liner of the freezer door. After replacing the gasket, he told me to watch the unit for a couple days. The technician also noticed that the freezer door wasn't level so he removed the freezer screws and leveled the door. The frost continued to build but was a smaller area. The Universal Technician came back out and determined that the freezer door and gasket needed to be replaced. When the company delivered the new door, it was so scratched up that the technician said he would not install it.

I called Frigidaire and complained that the refrigerator was a lemon and the warranty was running out November 23, 2016. I was informed that I could not get a replacement until the technician certified the unit as irreparable and recommended that I get an extended warranty to cover the unit past the new appliance warranty period. By this time, I was fed up with Frigidaire. The Universal technician returned and made adjustment to the level of the door which improved the problem somewhat. I have noticed that the frost is heavier when the humidity in the house is higher. As the humidity level goes down, the frost buildup goes down. That indicates to me that there is still air flow somewhere.

However, I am tired of fighting Frigidaire. I threw away the money I spent on the refrigerator and will probably have to replace it within 5 years. I will not replace it with another Frigidaire product. In fact, I will never buy a Frigidaire or Electrolux product again. I am soured on the whole experience with Frigidaire. I feel they should have replaced the unit, without question, after the third time that one of their authorized service companies failed to totally fix the problem. By the way, I'm just waiting for something to go wrong with the dishwasher and range - it's only a matter of time because, in my opinion, Frigidaire products are sub-standard.

Big mistake - the first problem we had was the freezer drawer wouldn't shut completely, and you had to really watch to make sure the seal was airtight. Many times it wasn't and things would start thawing out. Then during a storm, we had a power surge that caused the electronic control board to fail - no one rewires them, so you have to order a whole new one (almost $500 repair)! Since then, every plastic drawer in the fridge has broken (plastic fronts break and come right out), the freezer drawer has broken and ball bearings fell out all over the place, the top ice maker has stopped working, and the bottom ice maker works about half the time. They sent a kit and sent a technician. The kit is just TAPE to cover the cracks. I complained to customer service and to a supervisor but all went to deaf ears. The inside looks bad. I have a refrigerator that the inside is all bandaged up and Frigidaire will not do anything. They use inferior material and will not stand behind their product.

This is why American companies go under. This is why American's buy Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese and Chinese products. We Americans want to keep American jobs but not when American Companies won't stand to help themselves. I will never buy Frigidaire ever again. Their products and service SUCKS. They don't have a direct headquarters complaints department. It only shows the company just does not care. My contact number is ** if anyone cares to discuss this from FRIGIDAIRE. Bought the refrigerator 10-15-15, and accepted delivery 11-3-15. It quit making ice December 2016. I called Lowe's and was given the number of a local certified repairman. I talked to two different repair facilities. The second one, after checking my model, said he could repair it, but it would continue to breakdown. They do several of this model ice maker weekly, and there is a possible recall in the works. I now realize I should have googled Frigidaire before purchasing their products. I unfortunately have all Frigidaire appliances in my home.

Between remodeling, after buying this house, I didn't think of doing a search of manufacturer's products. The microwave signal keeps beeping, even after you have opened the door. The oven of the stove makes the solid surface stove top so hot, you can't touch it, after being on for an hour at 400 degrees. The stove burners are completely off. It makes me wonder if inadequate insulation is the problem. I am trying to find the recall deal online.

The man ordered a part for the ice maker, spent more than 4 hours reading his manual to learn how to fix it, because he didn't know how. We still don't have a working ice maker.

As of last night, the light in the bottom oven does not turn off and the door catches on something. I have spend thousands of dollars on these appliances. Holidays are here with company, and I don't have a working kitchen. The company is not taking responsibility for it and said that they don't have replacement policy. I got an email from them saying, "We are sorry you feel that way, and they can't find our order numbers for the repairmen, asking where did the repairmen came from?" I pulled the refrigerator out from the wall to try to reset it by unplugging it. Imagine my surprise when I noticed the water supply line was embedded in a block of ice on the back (outside) the box. The ice was about 3" in diameter and about 3/4" thick ON THE BACK of the refrigerator. In addition an area of rust near the ice and above the ice trailed down the exterior to the floor. The ice maker quit working in early 2016, I decided to get it fixed under warranty before it ended. The service company, Boston Joe's came to examine on 5/24. They also found beside the ice maker issue the back of the refrigerator was rusting out. The parts were ordered and installed 2 weeks later. Thought problem was solved... Four weeks later the refrigerator stopped working. It was all frosted up. I put (2) calls into Boston Joe's... No response. I called another service company... They came to look at the refrigerator. Service tech told me he couldn't fix it and 'ran' away...

I defrosted the refrigerator and turned off the water to the icemaker. It was fine for another 6 weeks or so. It frosted up again and again. I emailed the warranty company and told me I was out of luck because I didn't contact them directly. I thought I was doing right by calling Boston Joe's, nice! The REFRIGERATOR freezes my food, milk and my insulin. Again several repair techs have 'fixed' the problem and one even suggested not placing items on the shelf next to the freezer wall (it is a side by side).

So buy a large refrigerator and only use half the space? So continue to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket for insulin because your insurance will only refill your Rx once a month? So in spite of purchasing a product that should work you are told 'we cannot do anything more for you since you are out of warranty'. I have been calling since this piece of crap refrigerator was purchased and yet, in spite of just doing the right thing because you have a record of my complaints going back to the purchase date, you play the game of sending incompetent technicians to my home to appease me until I am out of warranty and you are off the hook. During the summer of last year the ice maker would stop working unless you turned the freezer up to 6 or 7. The trouble began this year however when the noise returned and the freezer side stopped working altogether. I called Lowe's who in turn had someone come out to check the problem. There was ice build-up on the condenser coil which the tech melted away. Well that was in July and the ice is back again but this time water is somehow pooling on my food and freezing.

I called and someone is to come out tomorrow but I don't plan to have to call someone every three or four months. I would much rather have a replacement since the company knows of these problems and doesn't plan to fix them. My husband and I purchased our Frigidaire Gallery French Door refrigerator freezer in March of 2011 from Pacific Sales when we had our kitchen remodeled. All of our appliances are from the Frigidaire Gallery series. All of our other appliance are in good working order except for some peeling film on the microwave. This refrigerator/freezer/ice maker has been a nightmare since we got it.

The freezer temp will randomly start raising and the ice maker stop working. I really cannot count the number of times it has been repaired and the ice maker replaced. This has occurred between 10 and 20 times. I finally bought an extended warranty because of the cost and here I am with my third fix under the warranty which is set to expire on 11/2/16. I have never in my 50 years had an experience with an appliance like this. I have a Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer in my garage that I have had for several years with no issues, but with this situation the way it is, I cannot justify purchasing another Frigidaire again. Worst appliance ever!

My 4 year old refrigerator (out of warranty of course). The fridge part stopped cooling. I lost all my food and was told by customer service that I needed an evaporator. Stupid of me to be talked into ordering it for $99.00. Thinking I'd need the part when a repairman came I checked on the shipping status 2 days later. It hadn't even been processed. When the repair man checked the fridge he found the light bulb that came with the unit didn't turn off when the doors were closed and caused the frig to overheat. A lightbulb! A light bulb that is controlled by the computer circuit in the fridge. Now I'm spending 300 for a new computer board because of a stupid design. Thank you, Frigidaire. Next I'll try to get a refund on the part which the repair man said wasn't at all necessary.

They all said that "it is the worse design to fix & next to impossible"! I've lost $$$ for I've had to leave work to be here for attempted repairs. Elite Experts came out yesterday & said it CANNOT be repaired. My Home Warranty of America will have to reimburse me. DO NOT purchase this product.

Waiting to hear about exchanging it for another brand with Badcock (place where purchased). After reading all these reviews about how terrible Frigidaire products are, I don't want to chance it any further with this one.

In April I purchased my refrigerator, gas range and dishwasher for my kitchen remodel. All Frigidaire. Model FFHB2740PSBA. In my 4th month my freezer went out, lost all my food, my ice maker broke, and now my refrigerator side isn't working. Now my nightmare begins. This company don't care about us customers. I went through 2 service companies for repairs, 2nd opinions, pictures and all reports that they ask for deeming my appliance non repairable, and here I am still waiting for a replacement.

I'm getting the run around from Frigidaire. I spoke with 4 different corp supervisors with no conclusion. I'm very mad, frustrated and furious for them not stepping up and solving my problem and just take care of getting me a new unit. We are living out an ice chest to keep things cold. We have no freezer and it's been a month and a half dealing with this people. All I can say is I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A FRIGIDAIRE PRODUCT EVER AGAIN. And after reading this, I hope you won't too.

I was unable to keep the temp in the 30-degree range as it appears something has already failed. Quickly rose to 60+ degrees. Called Frigidaire to report the problem and ask for a repairman to come out. They can't get anyone to me until 4 days later. Food spoiled. Money lost. No compensation. Also ice maker is extremely noisy since the day it was plugged in. Just waiting for it to go bad also. My advice to you is DO NOT BUY THIS model! It's junk.

The food became spoiled because it was so hot. First I was told to pay for a technician to come and look at it, then I was told to purchase a repair kit; however, this is completely not my fault and unsafe. Customer service has not even been responding back to my emails within the last month. This is extremely frustrating and annoying. Totally unacceptable when the company is responsible for selling a product that practically started a fire in my own kitchen. The dishwasher does a horrible job cleaning dishes and like a post above, has a weird smell that covers dishes when the cycle is done. The oven is 50 degrees hotter than what you program it for. Almost exactly three years ago, we purchased a brand new bottom freezer, French door refrigerator from Lowe's. The refrigerator is not cooling adequately. We called a local repairman. The repairman knew the cause almost immediately, as he has encountered this with other Frigidaire refrigerators owned by other customers. There is a DESIGN FLAW with the unit. The light bulbs on the inside of the unit run too hot. When he removed the cover above the light bulbs, there were two holes burned in the "ceiling" of the refrigerator case.

We understand this allows condensation to accumulate in the area at the top of the unit. While we did not purchase the extended warranty, I feel that this is a DESIGN FLAW which Frigidaire should stand behind. We will NEVER purchase another Frigidaire product again! When we contacted Frigidaire they simply said "Sorry... There is nothing we will do about it." A $1,000 refrigerator should last more than three years! It is almost as though the refrigerator is designed to fail!!! I was wrong in believing that Frigidaire was a reputable company.

I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator from Sears 6 months ago. The unit is still not working. From day one we had issues with the ice maker. Sears says that is not their problem and that we need to work with Frigidaire to resolve the issue. Frigidaire uses contractors to deal with their warranty claims. From day one the problem we have is the same. The ice has a frozen band of ice holding the cubes together not allowing them to get through the shoot. Each time a repair person came to my house I was required to leave my schedule open for the day to accommodate the repair tech's schedule.

1st Service (took the day off to be home) Tech arrived said he had to install a new shoot, but would need to order parts. 2nd Service Tech Arrived installed shoot. The issues was not resolved and Frigidaire assigned a new service group. 3rd Service Tech canceled the day of the call and said he knew what the problem was and he would order parts. 4th Service Tech arrived and said that he ordered the wrong parts and would return with the correct parts. 5th Service. Tech arrived to install yet another "new shoot". The issue was not resolved. Again, I have no idea how they think they can get cubes that are not separated through the "new shoot".

6th Service After staying home all day the tech called me at 3 to tell me he got tied up and needed to reschedule. 7th Service They called the night before the service and TOLD me I needed to be home between 8 and 5. Yes, I have not been fired from my job yet and will take yet another day off, but I have a meeting at 12 that will require me to be gone from 11 to 1 PM. I called today to see when the tech will arrive and it's between 12 and 2, so I'll need to cancel my appointment.

I have logged hours on the phone with Sears and Frigidaire. I will never purchase another Frigidaire product again. It's not because of the defective units, but because after you purchase a unit you become nothing more than a warranty claim that they will resolve on their timeline. 6 months later the kids still can't get ice because the unit gets jammed and makes a mess 1/3 of the time. Frigidaire has refused to take this unit back. Sears has refused to take this unit back. DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE or the extended warranty they try to push on you. Mod: FGHS2655PF5A. SN: 4A54319937. Then the ice maker started dripping and makes a frozen waterfall from the maker to the tray. Now the plastic shelf fronts are fracturing. This refrigerator is a piece of Junk! We bought a $650 refrigerator when our fridge of 23 years finally bit the dust. Since purchasing it in November 2015, we are about to lose our third handle. The first two were replaced by Bemis Appliance in Yakima, our local appliance store because Frigidaire (or Electrolux) won't warranty them. We have a crack in the liner Frigidaire won't replace after only seven months and won't warranty because they insist we dropped something on it. The latest thing is that the bottom shelf got caught on something and while opening the door the hook that holds the door on snapped off. Now Bemis is giving us a new handle, and replacing the shelf, once again not warrantied by Frigidaire. Egregious quality and customer service on their part. Might behoove them to find better quality materials. We will never again purchase one of their products.
