Really frustrating to know that so many other people have experienced the same issues with the Frigidaire Gallery series. The repair guy just left my house AGAIN. Installed a brand new ice maker last week (2nd one in a little over a year), but it still doesn't work. He came back today to fix it. Tried calling Frigidaire for assistance but their office is closed due to inclement weather. So, now he has to come back on Friday. This will be the 4th trip for this one issue. Prior to leaving, he noticed the factory appliance bulbs had melted the ceiling of the refrigerator. He said this could be the root of the problem with the ice maker not freezing - something about impacting the integrity of the box. Said he plans to discuss with Frigidaire if he can ever get them on the phone.
Anyway, now that I'm reading stories of smoke and fires, I'm worried to death. I've also had issues with the microwave and dishwasher. Ridiculous. I too will NEVER buy Frigidaire appliances again. I just wish there was something that could be done about this. With so many people having the same issue, is the company really not going to stand behind their very expensive products? I will warn people of the Frigidaire scam on every blog and consumer reports site I can find. People work too hard and pay too much money for appliances to crap out after just a couple of years.

In less than 2 years of leasing our recently renovated apartment, the door handle on my black Frigidaire model FFHI2126LBO has broken 3 times. After the second time the maintenance man that services my apartment (full of humor) said he ordered two just in case I broke it again. He said the owner of the building, who also owns a hardware store jokingly said that I must be real "hungry" that is why I keep breaking the door. I have never had this problem before and I will admit, it was making me look a little crazy.
While I was away for 6 weeks, the door broke again at the top just as before while my roommate opened the door. She had to admit that I was not crazy. I contacted the maintenance man once again and he said the owner said he is going to charge us this time. In effort to prove that we are not ladies with super strength, I googled "broken refrigerator door handle" and the Frigidaire comments popped up. I even noticed that my door handle is a bestseller on Amazon. Clearly this is a defect in the design. I tried calling the number on the refrigerator (800-944-9044) and an automated response sent me to another number (800-712-3000) that was an automated dead end.

We purchased Frigidaire Gallery model fghb2844lf in 12/2011. We have had several problem and service calls about the ice maker, the lighting in the back melted into the back of the refrigerator. Repairman ask to replace, Frigidaire refused sent a kit, looks like crap. I told Frigidaire I was afraid my house will burn down, their representative ask me if I smelled smoke and unless I did if I called a repairman I'd have to cover the bill. Now the motherboard is blown out. I have read reviews now I see numerous people have same problems. All my appliances are Frigidaire Gallery no problem with them, but this refrigerator has been nothing but a problem.

They fixed that two times then 2 weeks later no ice. Fixed that 4 times, worked for couple weeks. Each time they changed for new fridge. This one ice and water worked fine but we had to tape the freezer closed. What a pain in the **, 3 different repairmen couldn't fix. They gave us another new fridge, within 6 months no ice. Haven't called store yet and now today no water. Can anything be done? I want my money back, just about $3000.00.

My refrigerator is about 4 years old and it is a stainless steel. It started making a noise and then one day it stopped working. To my horror it happened while we were fully stocked with food and everything was lost because we were dealing with sickness and then a death in the family... out of town. Therefore, we lost big. I believe there is something wrong since there are a number of complaints. I really need your help. I believe this is a manufacturing issue. This is absolutely unacceptable to pay about $2,000 or more for a refrigerator and in this short period of time it quits.
We have made calls regarding repairs and are told it may cost $500 to $600 but no one has actually physically serviced our refrigerator but they are skeptical about what it requires, but most have said it is the compressor. My refrigerator will come on but it will not cool or freeze. I do not know how to send a picture but it is stainless steel and it looks almost new. It is 26 cubits with side by side doors with an ice and water dispenser on the door.

I bought a new Electrolux refrigerator, model FRS6R4ew2. Made in Mexico. When it was approx. 4 yrs old. the plastic on the inside began cracking. I contacted the company, it was still under warranty. They told me I had to pay for a service man to come and check it out and if he determined it was unfixable, all they could do is give me a few hundred dollars if I bought a new one. I still have this refrigerator, cracks and all, never will I buy another Frigidaire product again. I also bought a dishwasher same brand - model FD8520RHS2A, what happened! The plastic rollers and casters crumbled. This dish washer was only a little over 1 yr. old, just out of warranty. To buy all the plastic parts new would have cost, 90% of the original price of the machine, with the possibility the replacement parts would not hold up any longer.

Once we didn't notice the freezer popping open, and it remained open, it ruined all the food as the freezer defrosted. Now we check it every time we open and close the refrigerator. We feel that we shouldn't have to check it. Frigidaire sent a technician and he told us to close the refrigerator gently so the freezer wouldn't pop open. We were not really satisfied with that solution.

Purchased the Frigidaire model # FFSU2613LSO SERIAL # 4A04305572 back In April 2011 for almost 1K. For the last week, my fridge won't cool or even function. Didn't buy the extended warranty---didn't think I'd need to since the name Frigidaire has been around forever and my last Frigidaire lasted 20 years. BestBuy could have cared less except to tell me I should have bought the Geek Squad extended warranty. (thanks BB--once my card is paid off with you---I'll be taking my business elsewhere) So now I've paid almost $1000 only to have to turn around and buy another fridge after 2 years?? NO WAY! If manufacturers products are only going to last 1-2 years at best, then somebody should drop the damn price or alert the consumer public or something because this is ridiculous! Frigidaire should replace my unit asap minus the depreciation on it. I'm so disappointed in Frigidaire. I doubt I'll ever buy another one of their products. EVER.

In 2008, I purchased a brand new Frigidaire side by side refrigerator model #FRS3R4EW4. Since then, I have had to hire a repair technician 3 times at the cost of $249.00 each time. I have had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of spoiled food, mop up water and try to restore damages to my hardwood floors. For what I've lost, I could have purchased another new refrigerator. There is a design flaw with part #AP3837323. This is the start-run relay, aka "compressor kick starter".
Looking at several websites, you will see that this is the first and foremost complaint about this refrigerator series. Please don't waste your time trying to call the customer service 800 number. What a joke! They only try to sell you something and record your phone number to sell to telemarketer lists. They also don't speak English and know nothing about appliances or repair issues. Also, be prepared to be wait on the phone a long, long time as you hear, "Your call is important to us" repeated many times.
This product is sold under several popular appliance names such as Whirlpool, Kenmore, and a few more. Also before you buy a fridge, make sure it's manufactured in the USA. These are mass produced in Mexico. If you buy one, be prepared to listen to a huge array of vibrating, rattling and obnoxious sounds coming from the back of the fridge. Also it would be prudent to buy at least 3 $60.00 relay parts as you will soon need to replace them. DON’T BUY THIS PRODUCT!

We purchase a Frigidaire, French door with freezer on bottom and 2 ice makers. After about two weeks, the top ice maker would not make ice. Service man came, worked on it, could not fix it, replaced upper ice maker. One week later, it would not work. This went on for about three months. Frigidaire replaced entire refrigerator. Still did not make a lot of ice in the top unit but it was working. Refrigerator is now 2 years old and compressor has gone bad, cost to repair is $1565.00 but labor. I am very dissatisfied with this unit and customer service was no help. Stay away from this unit unless you like to waste money. I am going to take this unit to scrap metal yard and get what I can for it and go buy a new unit and it will not be a Frigidaire.

This morning I was cleaning the fridge. I had cleaned the top 3 shelves and took out the one on top of the vegetable bin and set it upright on a rug in front of the sink cabinet to warm up before I cleaned it. About one minute later it literally blew up and shattered in a million pieces, scattered all over the kitchen floor. The noise was loud. I purchased it in May 2013. I called Frigidaire toll free number that after a wait gives you another number to call for customer service, NOT TOLL FREE. After waiting a few minutes on that line they came in and said high volume. Called the store I purchased it from and talked to customer service.
They researched for me and said the warranty and extended 5 year warranty didn't cover the shelf because it was cosmetic???? I read the warranty and couldn't see where it says that. This shelf apparently is a factory defect. It could have done harm when it shattered if I had been closer. I can see the headlines - "Refrigerator attacks 75 year old grandmother". I have cleaned a lot of refrigerators over the years and never something like this. A new shelf is $44.32 plus tax. No big deal but I can't understand Frigidaire not wanting to know about a defective product.

We purchased a brand new Frigidaire refrigerator in November of 2012. We had new tenants move in a few months later. They called us on October 2, 2013 to say the freezer wasn't working. We called the store where we purchased this product. They gave us 3 repair people. One showed up, stated the compressor was gone. It was a 4+ hour job and would probably take 1-2 weeks to get the part and come back to repair it. We called Electrolux to ask how to resolve this in a timely fashion. They stated they might be able to get a compressor to us sooner but they couldn't provide anyone to repair it. We ended up going to another store to buy a different fridge for our tenants. We asked for a refund since it was less than a year old and we had purchased an extended warranty. We have yet to hear back from them. The repair person did say they no longer manufacture these in America, it's made either in China or Mexico depending on the make and model. NEVER waste your money on a Frigidaire appliance or for that matter anything that Electrolux is involved in. All of their products are manufactured elsewhere.

Purchased refrigerator on 4/28/13. My job requires me to be gone for extended periods of time. Usually 3 or 4 days. Returned home on 6/5/13 (5 weeks later) to find a large puddle of water, my brand new refrigerator full of spoiled food (about $300.00 worth). Repairman came out and replaced the compressor and the evaporator. All is well for the next 4 months. Then the freezer half quits working. A lot of beef and other items gone (about another $100.00). The repairman returns on 10/14/13 and recharges the system with Freon and tells me there is a leak in the internal condenser line, and that this is a short term fix. And that this is a non-repairable unit.
After numerous calls to Frigidaire by the repairman and me, Frigidaire refuses to replace this refrigerator. And a refund is definitely out of the question. But they did offer to extend the warranty for 12 months. So the repairman will be returning on 10/23/13. Third time in 6 months to install some kind of kit. I guess Frigidaire would rather pay the repairman than have a satisfied customer. I highly recommend everyone to steer away from Frigidaire products made in Mexico.

Shortly after technician left, the Frigidaire Refrigerator (within 2 hrs) unit failed to cool again, refrigerator temp climbed to 100 degrees Fahrenheit within the refrigerator. Service repair technician was recalled and I was told they would have to order the internal electronic temp. control board from factory. After one year warranty, a cheap plastic part broke and let moisture onto a motherboard, which shut the refrigerator down. That cost $350. Then the dam that controls airflow broke causing cold storage to get warm and freezer coils to freeze over. That cost $300. Now another motherboard has broken. Twice. First time to replace was $400. I haven't fixed it, yet, as the freezer works. My cold storage is two igloos on my kitchen floor. All these repairs are in the second year of ownership. Not the top of the line, but a step down and almost $3000. The ice maker worked for less than 1 week. Had trouble getting service. Was told I lived in a rural area. My thought, if you can't service a product in a rural area, don't sell product in a rural area. At any rate, the "certified" repairman used electrical tape to repair and then said he would check to see if the part needed replacing. I didn't hear back, so thought it was okay. It went out again in less than a year (still under warranty, thank goodness). This time, they said part couldn't be replaced and replaced the entire refrigerator.
From delivery, the freezer didn't work. Their helpful customer service people told me to use a hairdryer to warm the gasket so it would fit. No help, then I was told to use Vaseline to soften the gasket. Then I was told they would send me a new gasket for me to replace the old one. I refused. They sent a serviceman, but said they couldn't send a gasket with him because that might not be the problem. Serviceman came and said, "Yes, it was the gasket," but he would have to order a new gasket and come back again. Well he came, took the door off, scattered parts all over my kitchen floor, put it back together badly and still the freezer didn't work. That serviceman would no longer return my calls.
Finally, found a service man who seems to know what he is doing and he replaced the gasket again, yes that is correct. Later the freezer quit working again. I called and the same good serviceman came. He told me the freezer drawer was off track. I asked how that happened. He said maybe I loaded it heavier on one side than the other. So ladies, weigh those packages before placing in the freezer. I guess I went without major problems for 6 months and now the ice maker is out again. I have asked that they just give me my money back. They won't do that. So I spend a lot of time warning others to beware of Frigidaire and its parent company, Electrolux. I will never have another product from either company.

It had intermittent issues and were repaired under warranty, but since the fridge was paid off six months ago, the family was told it is no longer under warranty and they are out of luck. This family consists of a Grandpa and Grandma raising 6 orphaned grandkids. They are not wealthy by any means and spent good money purchasing a fridge that would work for their family only to have an inoperable appliance in their kitchen.
Refrigerators are supposed to last for at least 10 years if not more. Is there a remedy for this family? Does anyone know who I can contact so that I can explain the situation for this family? This family has a very low income, and they are trying to do their best to raise the kids. Truly this is a very unfair situation. Are there any recalls on the parts? At this point they can't afford the repairs on the fridge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I will try to make this short but I feel I need to give a little background to make our attitudes and disappointment understandable. After years of saving and planning, we underwent a major kitchen remodel in the summer of 2011. This was a gutting of everything from the floor to the ceiling lights, including new nice pricey appliances. We purchased Frigidaire appliances, slip in stove, dishwasher, microwave, and the in question refrigerator. They were all the Gallery series. We bought them at HHGregg in Florence KY. The appliances alone were in the thousands of dollars. Because the kids are grown and gone, we thought use would be minimal and we did not purchase the extended warranty offered.
Recently there was an issue with the ice maker. It was discharging large chunks of ice and getting jammed up in the discharge. Running the ice maker sounded horrible and I stopped using it and set up an appointment with a repair company. This past Sunday, 8/25/13, I noticed in the morning there was no power to the fridge at all. The console lights were out and there were no lights in the interior. I checked circuit breakers and the outlet power and all were found to be okay. We decided to call the repair company and spring for an emergency visit (Sunday) because we had just gone to the grocery the day before and it was loaded with our nourishment for two weeks. The repairman showed up and took a look and said we needed two computers, a condenser motor, an ice maker, and a sensor. Total cost approaching $1000.00. We looked in the manual provided but the console in the manual did not match the actual console. Sloppy to say the least.
To spend $1000.00 on a used refrigerator sounded crazy to me so we went out Sunday night and bought a new one (LG). To most folks, expecting a refrigerator to last 10 years is very reasonable. Since we paid $1500.00 for it, that would make it worth about $150.00 per year for our use. It worked 2 years, net we got $300.00 worth of use out of it and they owe us $1200.00. No, I am not a drinker!
I just talked to Frigidaire customer service (Jennifer). She acknowledged Frigidaire's responsibility by offering to pay for parts. But refused to pay me for the parts (my guess is about$400.00), which would be desired since we had to go out and buy a new refrigerator over the weekend. Why can they afford to pay a service outfit for parts but not the customer? A shirt and tie policy that clearly doesn't have the customers' desires in mind.
Frigidaire should remember us baby boomers have been around long enough to remember when quality meant something and was rewarded by repeat purchases. Frigidaire has decided to sacrifice both quality and customer service on this deal. I hope they think of that when my Mexican import is placed in the city dump tomorrow.

On 5/20/2013 the same thing happened in the same spot. I spoke with Lowe's and they said to call Frigidaire and I did. Nicole in Customer Service really couldn't help. She said she would send me the part and I can put on. I explained I have no idea how to do something like that. She gave me to Sup. ** and she told me they would send a repair company out and I would have to pay for it. I explained the situation and she waived the service charge. I appreciated that and Apollo Appliance Repair came out on 6/02/2013 and replaced the handle once again.
Now on 8/3/2013 I noticed the handle was broken again in the same spot. I called Frigidaire and Alex answered and once again explained what was happening. I asked for a Sup (I was on hold for 10 mins. waiting for a Sup). Corp. Sup. ** came on the line and I again explained what had happened. She said she will send me the part and I asked her to send out a repair man as I have no idea how to replace it. She said she would and waive the repair cost and I said Thank You. Once again I need to take another day off from work to be home for the repair and lose a day’s pay.
She told me this was the last time they would replace the handle due to it being a cosmetic problem. I told her there is some problem why this keeps breaking, maybe it the door itself. She said this has not been a problem. I explained there are no children in the house and my husband and I both work, and most of the time I open the door on the side not even using the handle. I have a Frigidaire refrigerator in my garage that I have had over 11 years and never had any problems. I was on the phone for 40 minutes trying to get this resolved. She told me the tech will check it out and if he finds nothing wrong the case is closed.
I was displeased and disappointed to hear you would not stand behind your product 100%. I feel very let down and am very concerned about the handle. I feel sure you will know how to solve this problem. I feel you should know about this and be aware. Frigidaire Refrigerator FFTR2126PS7 - Second fridge of this model in six months. First fridge was not built right and distributor contacted Frigidaire on our behalf. Frigidaire agreed to build us a new one. New fridge came from Canada plant. Immediately upon receiving it we noticed that it was horribly noisy. Three months later, it's WAY worse. When running it is hands down the loudest thing in the house. Door shelves fall out of their own accord, dumping anything you have in them on the floor (this is an engineering flaw). Temps were never right. Best the fridge could do was 42 degrees in the fridge side. Freezer was cold enough but not frost free (meaning the seal was not sealing). Speaking of the seal, the corners would never seal to the door frame. You could feel cold air seeping out. The plant left plastic behind the seal that never came out, so we have this hideous "skirt" of plastic around the seal.
The stainless steel finish on our model is EXTREMELY fragile. We had one of those floppy business card magnets on the fridge. I pulled a piece of paper off that was being held on the fridge with this magnet. The magnet left scratches on the stainless steel surface! I was astounded. Trying the same thing with my fingernail left the same kind of mark... STAINLESS STEEL... Seriously... I am totally disgusted with this fridge and the quality of workmanship/design all together. I will NEVER be buying a Frigidaire again. I would suggest anyone considering a Frigidaire to do their homework before purchase.

My 25 yr old 'fridge died on Thanksgiving 2010 with a houseful of company. The following day I purchased a new Frigidaire French Door with ice and water in the door, model FGH82822LP3. I don't have a diary of the repairs during the first 6 months, but the icemaker leaked, froze up, quite, and generally gave problem after problem requiring warranty repair 6 times during before they completely replaced the appliance on 6/15/2011 with model FGH82844LP3. The repair service, Rapid Repair from Muskogee, OK has always given excellent service and the Frigidaire Customer Service personnel have always been courteous and helpful; HOWEVER, the product is junk!
Within 2 months I started having the same problems intermittently. The rub was that I would report the problem but by the time the tech. would get here it would be running properly. A few weeks later it would repeat. The day after the warranty on the 2nd 'fridge expired it broke down again to the point that the repairman got to see it and diagnose it. Frigidaire did stand behind that repair. They allowed me to purchase a 2 yr. extended warranty, but here it is the end of July 2013 and I still have a broken down icebox and visits from the repairman on average of every 2 weeks. The company has admitted design problems, but the parts they send don't fix it. I want another complete new refrigerator or money to purchase one of my choice. They could save money by giving me what I want. They are spending more on repairs than a new one would cost.

On top of that there are two LARGE holes in the ceiling of the fridge burned by a light which is badly designed. The 1st tech slapped a plate over and put in a new cover over the light; however the holes continue to grow. Finally called a different tech and if I had not heard the conversation he had with the tech at Frigidaire I would not believe the "repair". He was told to use a cigarette lighter to heat the plastic and flatten it out to fill in the holes. Seriously I spent thousands of $$ for this. Refrigerator is a piece of junk!!!!!!!

In July of 2012, I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator. That was the beginning of my nightmare. By October 2012, I already had to call for repair. In October, it was fixed within one week, fine.
Now, fast forward to May 2013, the refrigerator stopped cooling. I called customer service and was informed to call various repair service providers that they deal with in my area. No one was available to come until the following week. Finally, Harp Home Services from West Babylon, NY sent a repairman. He looked at the unit and said the fan was no longer working and they would get the part and call to set-up an appointment to fix my refrigerator. One week went by, then two weeks passed, I called to find out what the delay was and was told that the part is on backorder from their supplier and they will let me know, period!!
I called Frigidaire back to demand that something be done because I have young children and it is costly to get ready-made food on a daily basis. They contacted Harp, who informed them that they could only get the part from a certain distributor and I would have to wait - well, it has now been a month and a half. I am tired of calling Harp every other day and Frigidaire to no avail!!! Unfortunately, I am not going to throw away hundreds of dollars again, so I have to wait until these inconsiderate individuals decide they are able to fix my fridge.
This is the worst appliance company - I am unable to get my fridge fixed. Hopefully, any consumer thinking of getting an appliance from this company will re-think their choice after reading this.

I contacted the company and they refuse to acknowledge there is a problem and their solution is to either sell you new bins at $30-$40 EACH or an almost $400 extended warranty. I checked with my local Lowe's store about new bins and they said broken bins were a real problem with these refrigerators. I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator with Model # FFHT1817LS8 at a Sears store. I had purchased it on lay-away. After paying for it for about 4 months, I finally received the fridge just 2 months ago. It worked okay for a while, but just a while after having it, the temperature control and defrost timer started to make a clicking sound. I was not sure if that was normal or not. It went on for about a week or so, and then it stopped clicking. That is when the refrigerator stopped working altogether. The freezer was working, but it had accumulated a large amount of frost and was on/running ALL of the time - meaning the timer was not running it in intervals like it was supposed to.
I did get an extended warranty from Sears, thankfully! I have notified Frigidaire/Electrolux of my issues (the Frigidaire brand is owned by Electrolx, BTW) and they were no help at all. I got some form letter email with a link for services/repair places that didn't even work! I contacted Sears, and they agreed to set up a time for one of their technicians to check it out. So, I take a day off from my work to accommodate the repair man scheduling (I work a Swing Shift) and then got told my appointment was canceled. I would have to reschedule because the repair guy called in sick (or something)! And I was like **?! I contacted Sears again and with much run-around, being passed around here and there, and talking to several different phone operators, I finally got them to agree to get a different refrigerator as a replacement. I only got through the fight because I was stern, not rude, but stern and wouldn't give up what I needed out of my service contract agreement.
I am not going with this refrigerator at all. I did not expect this. It looked all shiny and new in the store, but looks can be deceiving. I settled on a GE model that had much higher positive reviews and less complaints lodged against them in general. The source of the problem is cheap construction by the manufacturer - Electrolux / Frigidaire. The part in question which was broken, after ONLY 2 months of use, was a faulty electronic control / defrost timer. And after reading these mountains of complaints, I see that Frigidaires don't seem to last beyond 3-5 or so years. That is extremely poor. At one time in their lives, Frigidaire was a noteworthy brand. But I guess that time is long gone...I would just like to let other buyers beware. A fridge that doesn't last beyond 2 months of use is a bad brand, especially one that won't last beyond 3 years and one you constantly have to have fixed.

On Saturday evening, I opened the door and digital display was flashing #4 for the right side (fridge) and it had always displayed a 6. The factory advised setting. I purchased the fridge on May 15, 2012, and now just a couple weeks after the manufacturer's impressive 1, that's ONE-YEAR WARRANTY expired, this thing goes "on the blink". The refrigerator side is not cold, and the freezer is so cold the ice cream might be broken up by a jack hammer. We tried the normal unplug, wait, and plug it in routine, which did nothing. After calling the manufacturer, they claim, "This never happens. Did you buy an extended warranty?"
I should have known; a product with only a 1 yr warranty is trying to show me something. But, I checked, all the others were the same - 1 year. Well, that is all except the $3000 unit, it had a three-year warranty; however, an extra $2000 seemed like a lot for an additional 2 years of worry free service. So, I bought the cheap $1000 unit. The unit was purchased from BrandsMart, a retailer in South Florida and they maintain their own service department. After checking it out, they replaced it. My contact with Frigidaire customer service was because of the poor design of the three door shelf/bins. Not only were they flimsy, but they would sometimes fall off when opening the refrigerator, spilling whatever was on the shelves.
I called customer service and spent twenty frustrating minutes attempting to make the representative understand the problem. After that, she informed me that there was a fix and it would cost $24 each. The way it was described did not relate to my problem. Of course, even though this was not a fix, she told me that even though the unit was under guarantee, this was not covered because it was not a mechanical or electrical problem. My model refrigerator has a flawed design for the ice maker. The supervisor I spoke with today acknowledged that my model is flawed and that the ice maker has been redesigned in future models. At that point, my wife went back to the Warranty Department and explained her frustration and requested to speak to a manager. Day of Delivery Failure, Gallery Refer Model LGUI2149LP2 - For Christmas 2011, our son and his family bought this Refrigerator from Lowe’s on Dec. 3, 2011, because it was a Consumer's Reports Best at that time. My son works out of state a lot and is a single father of our three youngest grandchildren. Delivery was delayed until just before we arrived for Christmas. The first day of operation, the ice cream keeper door (top freezer model) broke. The "keeper" shelf has no front lip. Without the door, the top shelf in the freezer door is useless. The keeper door is a curved 1/4 circle design, with two small little (1/8" long) not-reinforced plastic points/tips sticking out at the left and right rear corners, supposedly to work like swivel points.
However, in the freezer they freeze and become brittle and have the strength of some cheap Chinese toy made by slave labor, because on first use on delivery day, after my son went to the store to buy food and ice cream and the first time he used the door, the left tip broke off. My son went to Lowe’s and they ordered a new cover. What arrived four months later from Frigidaire was the wrong item. On top of that (keep in mind that my son and his children are home very little because of his job - children stay with relatives while he is away), the next time we visited, I tried to open the ref’s door and the plastic handle broke clean through in my hand. Frigidaire had been totally non-responsive and until I personally talked with the store manager and demanded a completely new refrigerator (saying I would even pay the difference in sales price and application of my military discount), Lowe’s could not care less at all.
After my entry into this problem, the store manager has started doing something at least, but says Frigidaire must be given opportunity to respond and has ordered again an ice cream keeper door and a new handle. That has been weeks ago. And Frigidaire has yet to respond. Shame on Frigidaire for such a shoddy design and it is obvious the people who design their refrigerators use ones made by somebody else. It would have been so simple to spend a few pennies more and to make the Ice Cream Keeper door with reinforced hinge tips. The design was good, but cheaply and poorly executed.

I didn't think too much of it because we had the party icemaker in the bottom freezer. Then in the beginning of this summer (2012), it slowly started to make ice less and less. Then, it stopped all together and started leaking water down the back into the bottom freezer. If I hadn't noticed it, there would have been a flood in my kitchen. I called Lowe’s where I bought the fridge (and whole matching kitchen set), and they referred me to the repair company because it was just over a year and I had paid for the extended warranty.
I called them and they sent a repairman out, for which, of course, I had to use vacation time to have the appointment. Then, I called them back because I still had no ice and it was leaking. They came back and repaired the seals around the unit and a couple other small pieces. Thank God he came home when he did. I could have lost my house. I have only had the refrigerator for a 1 1/2 now. I just paid it off. After reading all the comments, I am buying another refrigerator from another company instead of getting it fix.

I’d like to say that I am now completely satisfied with the treatment I received from Frigidaire. A while back, I complained about a side-by-side that caused us great aggravation because of its constant malfunctioning. The unit was either too hot or too cold, causing us to lose a lot of food. Thanks to Elizabeth **, a responsive and caring employee of the company, the problem has been totally rectified. She was there for us and helped us solve the problem. I would buy again from this company. Thank you, Ms. **. You are a true asset to the company.

Our Frigidaire side-by-side is approaching five years old. From day one, we’ve had nothing but trouble with it. It’s the same issue every time: the temperature control doesn’t cool properly. We’ve lost countless amounts of food and have experienced stress and aggravation from this irreparable appliance. Throughout the years we’ve had this lemon, we’ve had a total of twenty service calls - all for the same issue. We bought the service policy, but the recurring problems continue to be unsolvable. We called the customer service number (Electrolux), but were only offered an extension of our service policy. The latest is that a very experienced technician, who came out (a second time) this month, talked on the phone to another technician because it was impossible to figure out why the refrigerator is still not working!
He said we may never find out what the problem is. He also told us that we have to unplug the unit periodically, leave it off for a few minutes, and then plug it in again. This is not easy for my husband or me as we can’t lift heavy things. We have been to hell and back with this Frigidaire refrigerator and are getting no satisfaction from the company. No one is allowed to speak to the head person there. All I would like is for the company to send someone to our home to witness what is happening with the unit and to come to a fair agreement, which, in my opinion, is to provide us with a new unit. This lemon is too much for anyone to bear. I caution you to think twice before you buy any Frigidaire product. The company does not care about their customers. To us, this is an extreme case and we believe we should be compensated fairly for the aggravation we've experienced from this refrigerator from hell.

I have called back several times because they keep telling me they are trying to find someone to help me but I've heard nothing. My appliance is still under warranty and I don't think that I should have to pay anything for someone to come here and fix it - which looks like what I'm going to have to do if I want a refrigerator that actually works. I am just very aggravated with this whole process. I should not be going through this on an appliance that is under warranty.

This is in regards to just this year's issue with this defective FGHB2844LE Frigidaire Gallery 27.8, which won't even go into all the issues since Sept 2010. On 6-13-12 at 10am, I called Electrolux Warranty Corp at 866-386-5286. I got a rep named Michael at extension **. I told him the issue we were having with refrigerator: no ice being made and water was running out the dispenser all on its own. He then told me that the warranty has the original refrigerator (purchase date 9-22-10) serial number on it (same issue and was replaced on 4-22-11). So the correct serial number is 4A03605327.
I explained to Michael that the fridge had same issue and was just repaired by George's Appliance on 2-22-12 and 5-25-12 for the exact same issue. I also told him we would not unplug and let all the ice that froze the ice maker up melt and George then made another trip out to work on it like we did last time. Michael then said he would be sending a work order to George's Appliance so he could come out and see if it could be repaired. He stated that if George could not repair on the spot, he wanted George to call him so they could take it to next level. The authorization number was **. I then called George's Appliance and spoke with Chelse at 205- 387-8623 who said they had not received work order yet but would have tech call me when they did. At 2:01pm, Michael called to say he had sent work order and I should be receiving call soon. At 6:11pm, George from George's Appliance called and said he would be out Monday and he would call before he goes.
On 6-18-12 at 2:41pm, George called and said the same problem as before, the EE valve. George said it's staying in the on mode which is due to it allowing excess moisture to build up and makes the ice maker freeze up. He said he called in technical support and they want him to unplug let it all drain out of ice maker then put extra thick grease to keep moisture from getting into it. I asked if he called Electrolux and he said he couldn't reach Michael. He agreed that the ice maker being built in, inside the refrigerator was a bad design, which means a new ice maker cannot be installed. The refrigerator has to be completely replaced to get a new ice maker. I told him I would call him back. I hung up at 2:43pm called and reached Michael who said he would call George at 205-275-7441 and call me back. At 2:45pm, Michael called and said he got voicemail, so I used my cell and called George. He picked up and said he had received no call.
I told Michael what George said. Michael put me on hold and called George. Five minutes later, he came back on the line to say George told him it was the same issue and what Frigidaire tech support had told him to try. I again told Michael at this point I want a different type of refrigerator. I do not want to go without fridge for days just so George can try to fix again and end up going through same ordeal in a few months. Michael said he would call me right back. At 3:20pm, Michael called me back to say his supervisor said for it to be under the Lemon Clause of the warranty, there had to be 3 service calls for the same issue within the 12 months of the contract.
The contract stated on 9-11-11 and so far was serviced on 2-22-12 and 5-25-12 and today 6-18-12 but that today's visit was not in as work completed so they could not count it yet. He said he was now going to escalate work order directly to Frigidaire to have the company send out a technician to confirm the diagnosis. If they say the same issue then we can go to the next step of replacing the refrigerator. He said if they do not call me on 6-19-12 to call him back. On 6-20-12 at 10am, I called Michael to let him know I still had not received a call from Frigidaire. He said give them one more day to pick up the order he had put into the system. On 6-21-12 at 4:25pm, I received a phone call from George of George's Appliance. He stated he had just received a call from Frigidaire giving him a work order to go out and check on a refrigerator and when they gave him the name and address, he advised them he had already went out and what his findings were.
He stated they had no idea that the refrigerator had already been looked at by him or anyone. They had no information of previous work orders or that this was an escalation. At 4:30pm, I told George that I would call Michael and that as soon as I got to the bottom, I would call George back. I tried to reach Michael but Electrolux was already closed.

When I returned 8 days later, I was met with the most horrible stench and the refrigerator LED displayed 77 degrees for both the refrigerator and freezer. All the food was rancid and disgusting and had to be thrown out.
I called Frigidaire and was told that perhaps I had programmed it wrong or pushed the buttons in the wrong sequence and that the refrigerator had gone into the "showroom" or "demo" mode. The use and care manual does not make any mention of a "showroom" or "demo" mode or the possibility that the refrigerator might shut down if such is the case. Frigidaire representatives have admitted that the manual's language is "vague and generic." However, they refuse to stand behind their product.
A factory-authorized technician has come down and examined the refrigerator. He could find no reason why it shut down as it did. He said that the refrigerator/freezer should never shut down in any circumstances. I know of at least one other case in which this "77" display occurred after being put in the Sabbath mode. The consumer had no warning that such a thing could occur, and I feel that this omission puts Frigidaire at fault. They claimed that my warranty has no coverage for food spoilage, but I had a reasonable expectation that my refrigerator would not shut itself off. This is a follow up to a post I made a few months ago regarding a Frigidaire Professional Series refrigerator, purchased at Brandsmart in Sunrise, FL on August 13, 2011.
Today is April 11, 2012. This 20.6 cubic foot unit has the freezer section on top. I was most impressed with the overall appearance and the quality of design of the interior of this refrigerator when I made the purchase. Just one month after the unit was purchased and placed in the kitchen of my rental property, the tenants began noticing the freezer section was icing up, i.e. not defrosting. We also placed a thermometer in the lower section to monitor temperature.
Over the next several months, factory service technicians had made approximately 8 visits to attempt to solve the defrosting problem. During this time, tenants observed several times that the refrigerator section temperature was no colder than 46 degrees. A different factory service company came in January 23 of 2012, ordering a drain kit and a hinge spacer. The unit was repaired a few days later when the parts arrived and has worked since that time, until now (April 11, 2012), where again the lower section is over 50 degrees and the upper section is showing ice crystals on the door, roof and frozen food. In every visit, I've felt the factory service personnel all tried their best to repair this unit. What disappoints me greatly is the lack of support by both Frigidaire and Brandsmart.
On January 26, 2012, I went back to Brandsmart to speak to the head of the sales department. I explained the ongoing problem with this unit and told him I wanted the best deal possible on a small General Electric 4 cubic foot refrigerator so I could keep my tenants' food cold until this Frigidaire unit could be repaired. I was given a measly 11.00 dollars off the sales price of a $129.00 unit, something I should not have had to purchase! Was it not for this small unit, my tenants would have yet another batch of spoiled food to throw out today.
I was also most surprised when calling Frigidaire 1 800 451 7007, this number does not apply to "customer service". To get Frigidaire customer service, you have to call a regular long distance number. That means you pay for the call unless you have free long distance calling. More surprising, Frigidaire customer service will not let you speak to a supervisor. I asked the operator if she would spell her first name and she said they were not allowed to do that. This makes it difficult at best to speak to a supervisor or the same operator twice.

Shortly thereafter, the white plastic that holds glass shelving to metal brackets began to disintegrate and the extended warranty would not cover it. So far, 3 shelves have self-destructed and the shelving on the door is cracked and held together with duct tape.
The plastic coating inside the freezer is rusted through. Apparently the material that is used to bind the plastic is defective. I couldn't believe the audacity when I was recently notified to renew my 3-year warranty. I called the company but they had nothing to say. I mean nothing. They have cancelled my third repair and my one year service repair is up on April 11, 2012. They are aware of this and said unless I have 4 callbacks before this time, I am out of luck. I bought a Frigidaire refrigerator from a PC Richard & Son location and less than one year of ownership I've had more problems than I can count. It constantly breaks down, often in the middle of the night. It emits smoke and my fire alarm goes off at all hours of the morning or when I'm not home. By the time I realize it broke or turned off automatically, all the food in my fridge is spoiled. I've been throwing out hundreds of dollars worth of groceries over the past four months which I really cannot afford. It turns off and back on, so the repairmen they send come and find it to be running and not in need of servicing. Meanwhile for 8, 10 or more hours it has been off. When I call the dealer, they tell me to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer refuses to deal with it and insists I call the dealer.
All I get every day when I call is the run around. I think they are waiting for my warranty to run out so they do not have to replace it. At this point, I'm concerned that it is a safety hazard because of how smoke comes out and that it might short-circuit while I'm asleep or not there. I live in an apartment building--I'd hate for anything to go wrong and affect my whole floor or even building. Please consider helping me expose Frigidaire with how they treat their customers.

My wife and I recently purchased a home. All appliances were stainless and included. The refrigerator was a Frigidaire side-by-side unit. After 1 month, the water filter started leaking and sprayed water into the temperature control and fried all the electrical components. We then proceeded to pay $600 for a new temperature control unit and wiring harness. 2 weeks later, I opened the fridge to find that the temperature was at 56 degrees. I called the repairman out again to find out that the temperature control was faulty and had to be replaced again.
Now my temperature display keeps blinking and will not read the current temperature in the fridge. This thing is a faulty piece of **. I would not refer anyone to buying a Frigidaire product ever. I would like to bring to your attention my disappointment with your Frigidaire product I purchased three and a half years ago. For us, this was a significant purchase. In advertising your products, you state, "The essence of reliable appliances, specializing in offering high quality products." I would like to tell you of my experience with your product and service.
My first complaint is with the ice maker in the fridge. I have had two occasions where the ice maker needed to be repaired. Firstly, the ice production simply stopped. When the ice receptacle was removed, there was a build up of rust and ice. The service person repaired it temporarily. Second occasion, service person was called and it was brought to our attention that there was a piece missing from the ice maker. He ordered the piece and had to come back and install it.
My second complaint, much more significant to the first is that the right inside wall of the fridge is now riddled with horizontal cracks preventing the fridge from optimum operation. Again, a service call was made. The fix was to drill holes in my fridge wall and then to mask over the cracks with a duct tape like vinyl strip. Now, we have an unsightly damaged area in the fridge. The service person himself said, "I have never seen anything like this." This, to me, is completely unacceptable.
When contacting the service department, thankfully, I had purchased the extended warranty, I was told that I would have to have three complaints of the exact nature for consideration of the (three strikes, you have a lemon) policy. What has happened to the pride in work? Where is the quality? Your product is poor and your service in this area is poor. This product needs to be replaced for my satisfaction. I await your response.

Our Frigidaire side by side was purchased Circa 2001. It was my first big saved up purchase and a reward for a huge, difficult job I had done. A long awaited prize for years of hard work and self-denial. We went to a reputable appliance dealer and chose the ice and water door model that seemed such a treat and luxury. Delivery came a week or two later and sadly, within 30 hours, I knew we had chosen a piece of **. The ice door flapper had stuck open whilst we were gone for the weekend and caused the motor to fail.
All this time the water lines hadn't been hooked up and we were not able to enjoy that feature. After replacement of the motor and trashing a boatload of food, service replaced it and we were running again. Yes, we lost money on the food, but that wasn't as bad as being duped by this company. The unit started losing temperature, and to this day, we have a two day milk rule.
The freezer shelves and innards have all loosened and it is just a cleverly piled chest freezer on its end. All the plastic shelf trim came off and piled up in the closet, the ice cube maker only does crushed frosted flakes of minuscule size. The fresh drawers in the bottom are better for ripening and rotting, and any meat products also are subject to the short time rules. Service has been indifferent and ineffective, so we are stuck with a $1300 insult that works like **, while my old fridge/freezer from 1972 is running like a champ in the neighbor's basement.
Soon we will be in a new house where the cooling food machines will be vintage Kelvinators from the ‘40s that we yanked out of our cottage when it was sold. But never ever again from the F company who proved that people will accept unacceptable products and services without fail. We are sheep. Unless we class action on them, why should they change? And you know the management has taken this angle, just like the tobacco companies and big oil that kill good people every day. On August 13, 2011, I purchased a Fridigaire "Professional Series" refrigerator from Brandsmart in Sunrise, FL. This unit has the freezer section on top and refrigerator section below. Just after 30 days of purchase, my two lady tenants noticed that the freezer section was icing up, and the refrigerator section was not cold enough.
Brandsmart sent out there tech on the first service call, who did nothing except to tell us to get another refrigerator. Since then we have had Frigidaire send out their own service tech 4 times so far. He has re-caulked the upper section of the unit. He has epoxied the area where the drain line of the ice maker exits the rear.
Both he and I have reset the defrost (by turning the door light switch off 5 times consecutively). A new drain line was installed. It's still having the same problem. Today the tech ordered a new lower door seal and a door spacer. I see nothing wrong with the lower door seal, as it looks to be in good condition and seems to close tight enough. The tech said that Frigidaire believes the door was not closed, causing this problem. These two ladies spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and they would certainly notice if the door was not closed tight. In any case, the tech believes the problem is caused by outside air being sucked into the unit.
I am most concerned as to whether or not this model is inferior or not, and if Frigidaire or Brandsmart will replace the unit if the problem continues.

Even if the alternative was more expensive, it would ultimately save myself and tenant from the headache and additionally incurred expenses as a consequence of this defective product. As a result of the 4 separate occasions, this fridge has been broken (we have had one of their recommended service companies, Class Appliances, out 3 times for repairs already). My tenant has claimed to have lost over $400 in spoiled food. Personally, it has cut into my bottom line as I am coerced into crediting them for their troubles.
Below, I am listing the particular model information. The last time the fridge broke, I requested a replacement product of equal caliber. I was promised by their customer service division that this repair would remedy the situation. I am completely exhausted dealing with the time waiting for parts to ship and repairs to be made, only to have it break again 2 weeks later. I am simply requesting a replacement for a defected product. As a property manager, I deal with a range of requests from tenants. Some of them are valid, while others are absurd. While I believe that requesting a new appliance after it breaks once is absurd, I believe that asking them to effectively review and appropriately deal with a particular case where there have been multiple documented problems is perfectly reasonable.

I want to point out that we do not pack our fridge; there are only the two of us, and we spent a lot to get a "nice" fridge at cabinet-depth in our kitchen. I am extremely disappointed. Now the second round of "shelves" is starting to crack!

On June 3, 2011, I purchased a brand new Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator/freezer for our home (Model #FFUS2613LS4) from Best Buy. On July 28, 2011 (just over 30 days), a terrible burnt plastic smell started permeating the freezer, refrigerator and its entire contents. I called Best Buy and unfortunately, I was over the 30 days, so they could not replace it. I had to go through the manufacturer. Best Buy set up a service call for Tuesday, but I could not deal with the smell and I have children with special needs (we are living out of ice chests). I paid $30 for the service tech to make a Saturday call. He came out, took it apart and said he couldn't find anything wrong with it but agreed that the smell was bad. All our food was lost ($400 worth), as it smelled and tasted like chemicals. The repairman plugged in the refrigerator and said he would come back tomorrow to see if he can see anything wrong with it.
As I have seen this exact same complaint in another post, I don't believe he will find anything and our family will not be able to use this refrigerator again. I'm feeling even more ill and the smell is permeating the house. As it is, we now appear to be out the $900+ we spent for this refrigerator from Best Buy. If our home catches fire or is ruined by this, you can bet that they will be sued!
Buyers, beware…. Do not buy Frigidaire!

Frigidaire customer service, Barbara, (tel. 706-860-4110) just told me (July 15, 2011 around 1 PM) that there is NO return policy for a brand new refrigerator, such as mine, that was unsuccessfully serviced twice in the last 10 days. My account numbers with Electrolux or Frigidaire are **. Please understand that I lost my confidence in Frigidaire appliances so even if it will be correctly repaired, I will never have peace of mind with it in my house. We have been living without a fridge since July 6 in temperatures of 100+ F. I want it back to the factory that made it and my money back in my account. Please read the brief story below of my painful experience with Frigidaire:
On May 12, 2011, we bought a Frigidaire refrigerator online, (model # FFHS2611LQ, serial # 4A11502582 ) with a 5-year warranty. It was delivered to my home on May 19, by the Home TV & Appliance store in 310 W Southern Ave, Mesa, AZ. with telephone number (480) 649-1811.
On July 6, 2011, in the morning, I noticed that the melting ice flooded my hardwood floor overnight. I also noticed that the temperature under the refrigerator is stuck at 4 and flashing. I called the store which delivered it to ask them to have it picked up and returned. The manager told me that after 30 days of purchase date, it is the manufacturer's responsibility. They also sent a Maytag technician, from Genuine Appliance Service in Mesa, AZ, with phone number (602) 252-6030), who came to the house on July 7 (Thursday). He said the temperature control is defective and needs to be replaced but it will have to wait until the following week because they have to order the part from Nevada.
On July 13, another technician came by the house, replaced the control in about 15 minutes. This happened around 9:30 am. Around 10 pm, I dared to open the fridge (we were told that it takes 12 hours for the temperature to adjust so I did not open earlier), and noticed that nothing has changed. The temperature under the refrigerator was still flashing at 4. On July 14, early morning, I noticed that water was flooding the kitchen floor. The few ice cubes that were formed earlier must have again melted and dripped overnight. Hence, the hardwood floor around and under the fridge lost its polish and became corrugated. We trashed the food of around $200 and have been living without a working refrigerator in temperatures of more than 100 F since Wednesday, July 6.
Consequently, I called and emailed customer service at web.other@electrolux.com, one more time, to let them send someone to pick up the refrigerator, return the money plus the 5-year warranty back in my account, as soon as possible. I do not want a replacement or repair any longer. I want it back to wherever they want it, out of my house. On the same line, I noticed a white label on the back of the refrigerator saying "PATENT PENDING". Maybe this explains why this refrigerator is beyond repair, for me at least.
Looking forward for a fair resolution for us, i.e. the return of the new defective refrigerator and my money back. Thank you.

On morning of July 6, 2011, I noticed that melting ice flooded my hard wood floor overnight. I also noticed that the temperature under the refrigerator was stuck at 4 and flashing. Yesterday, July 13, 2011, the technician came and replaced the control in about 15 minutes. This happened around 9:30 am last night. I dared to open the fridge (we were told that it takes 12 hrs for temperature to adjust so I did not open it earlier) and noticed that nothing has changed. The temperature under the refrigerator was still flashing at 4. I knew something was not right but it was too late to call anyone so I had to wait until this morning to again email/call Frigidaire customer service.
This morning at 6 am, I went to check it again and saw all the melted ice flooded my floor overnight. I have hard wood floor, which lost its finish and became corrugated due to the water that stayed overnight under and around the fridge. I went online and filed another complaint and asked them to please send someone to pick up the refrigerator, return the money plus the five-year warranty back in my account ASAP. I do not want a replacement or repair, I said, as I lost confidence in Frigidaire and my peace of mind. I want it out of my house and my money back in my account. This was pretty much the same message I sent last week and this week to their customer service. In addition to that, our refrigerator has a large label on its back that says patent pending (I just noticed it yesterday during the repair). Is it legal in US to sell appliances or anything when the patent is not approved?

I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery Series side by side refrigerator in 2009 from Aaron's Rent to Own. This is the 3rd refrigerator actually delivered because there were problems with the first two. Aaron's decided to continue to repair this refrigerator until it worked properly. Now, this refrigerator is not cooling properly again. You cannot put warm food into the refrigerator or the temperature goes up to 56 degrees and stays there while the freezer temperature drops to -15. We phoned Aaron's because they keep the appliance under warranty while the appliance is under contract; and then the original warranty begins.
Even with all the prior problems and this extended warranty, Frigidaire says the warranty expired in May and the refrigerator is my problem. There is currently over $1,200 of insulin in this refrigerator. I am a disabled mother of a handicapped child and cannot afford to replace appliances simply because a company refuses to produce a quality product. I bought Frigidaire because years ago, my deceased father believed them to be a good product. I read something somewhere, where a guy referred to Frigidaire as a "throw-away product". He's correct.

On November 28, 2009, I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator, from PC Richards in Rockville Centre, NY. In January 2010, I noticed a leak. I called Frigidaire and they referred me to their service provider, Wind Services (516.933.7320). On January 30th, Wind Services notified me that the valve was defective, which caused the unit to leak. Wind Services resolved the issue. Two months later, I noticed another leak. I again contacted Frigidaire who referred me once again to Wind Services. The repair person diagnosed the problem as a broken water line within the system. That repair was completed on March 6, 2010.
In September of 2010, another water leak was detected within the unit. Frustrated that this was the third repair within a year, I contacted PC Richard, who sent out an individual to repair the unit. On Tuesday, June 28th, I spoke with a representative from Frigidaire with regards to my ice and water dispenser not working. She confirmed that I had a service contract and gave me an ESA number 008013729 for repairs. On Friday, July 1st, Wind Services came out and repaired a frozen water line, and recommended that I change the water filter.
Now it is July 2011, one month later, and my ceiling is collapsing in the basement, due to the constant water leak. Frigidaire is now stating that I no longer have a service contract, and that they will not assume responsibility for the damage done to my home. After speaking to this representative, I requested for a supervisor and was told I needed to leave my contact information and I would receive a call within 24 hours. I am still waiting on a return call. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and quality of this product. I sincerely believe that after four service attempts, this product was defective from day one and has caused me a sufficient amount of anguish, financially and mentally. I am asking that Frigidaire refund my money for the unit and compensate me for the current damage caused by this unit. The serial number for the unit is 4A94606511. I can be contacted at . I purchased a new Frigidaire Refrigerator Model #FRS6LF7JSO on 09/06/09. Incorrect packaged and delivered included the front lower "Toe Plate" as well as 3 door bins (1 lower and 2 upper), and the freezer door hinge cover was missing. It took 3 separate calls to customer service to get the correct items shipped. I kept receiving "close" but incorrect door bins although I gave the correct serial and model numbers to the technician each time I called. The correct door bins that finally arrived almost 3 months after my purchase broke at the "cheeezee" little hooks that attach the bin to the door within 3 months.
Since Electrolux had already shipped new bins 3 times and since they were not receiving enough negative feedback from others to justify an investigation, I was told that they were not responsible for more replacements because I was obviously over loading the bins. I subsequently ordered and paid for 2 upper door bins and 1 lower door bin. Due to the cost (+/- $45.00 each + shipping) we really babied these delicate little things as long as possible. The last one just broke however, it did last almost 11 months.
The copper tubing that transitions the incoming water hose to the ice maker valve dislodged somehow and a slow leak developed behind the refrigerator. By the time the leak was noticed, it had saturated the wood flooring which had to be replaced. My issue with this is the flooring damaged by the water leak was special order and is no longer available. I was unable to "piece" the floor and had to replace flooring in the entire kitchen.
I am currently offering a $5000.00 reward payable to the first individual that shoots me in the head if I ever buy another Electrolux / Frigidaire product of any kind.

Very simply, we purchased 3 Frigidaire appliances (fridge, range, over-the-range microwave) in May-June 2008. We purposefully purchased nicer levels of equipment, so that we would not have additional costs of repair and replacement. We began to have problems with them shortly after the 12-month warranty ran out.
The range is not reparable. It has a design flaw that allows anything that spills down the front of it to go to the inside of the glass door where it cannot be cleaned without bending the metal covering. And the refrigerator has had ice maker issues (and the repairman explained the many design problems with Frigidaire compared with other reputable companies). Along with paying to have that repaired. it has several points where it is rusting in the freezer and refrigerator compartments. One of the drawer glides broke while holding lettuce and a few tomatoes, telling me that they used inferior plastics in building it.
Finally, our microwave's magnetron died after less than three years. A magnetron is $108 plus the cost to have it replaced. We've had $99 microwaves in the last 9 years, and they still keep on running.
Their product lasted about as long as 12 packs of toilet paper in a dysentery ward. All they have ever done or offered to do is write an email of apology to their "valued customer." But they do not value customers longer than it takes to slide the credit card through the card reader. Further, since we began to have these problems, we have had so many people tell us the same thing about Frigidaire, while everyone else says, "I've had my ____________ for 9, 10, 15, 18 years and never had them repaired. Bottom line: do not purchase Frigidaire.

I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator in Sept 2007 from Sears. I had numerous problems with the product like broken shelving and water dispenser. Due to the fact that I had many issues with the product, I purchased an extended warranty when the manufacturer's was about to expire. Since then, the problems that I have had are enormous. On July 24, 2009, in the wee hours of the morning, the water started to pour out of my family room ceiling, which is located in the basement right below the refrigerator. We had to turn off the main water supply to stop the water fall that was in my basement. The next day, we had a plumber come in to turn off the water supply to the refrigerator. I reported the problem to Sears and they sent out a technician. He explained the problem to me: The copper tubing that went into the water pump was not installed correctly at the manufacturer. The copper tubing and the copper connection were both corroded from the leaking. That had to have been ongoing for a long period of time.
Due to the fact that there was damage to my home, I filed a claim with Sears. They forwarded it to their claims department who determined that the fault was that of the manufacturer. And they forwarded the claim to Crawford and Company that works with Electrolux. This was Sept 20, 2010. I still have a huge hole in my ceiling. The sub flooring in my kitchen is ruined. When I contact Crawford and Company every other day, I get the same answer. Electrolux has not had the time to test the faulty part. How many faulty parts does Electrolux have that it is taking such a long time to make a determination on my behalf? It has been suggested to me that I turn the damage into my homeowners insurance.
In Nov. 2010, I reported another issue to Sears. The interior of the refrigerator has now developed over 2 dozen cracks to the interior wall. I was offered two solutions to this problem: have each of the cracks fixed with epoxy, or live with it. The suggestion from the technician was to live with it, a real sorry answer as far as I was concerned. I now have a broken meat compartment drawer. I will call for replacement. This major appliance is the absolute worst investment that I have ever made. The time that has gone by with no resolve tells me that Electrolux does not care about the customer, only the sale. I am truly disenchanted with a product that I had put my faith and dollars into.

Our side-by-side refrigerator was first repaired in October of 2010. As directed by Frigidaire, we had their service tech repair the evaporator fan and paid $230.00 out of our pocket. The very same thing happened approximately 2 weeks later and we contacted Frigidaire, who asked us to send the repair document and they said they would begin a claim. We faxed the paperwork and never heard back from the company. When we contacted them again, they denied that we ever called them or that they received the faxed paperwork. We resubmitted the repair paperwork via email scanning and they finally acknowledged that they got the document. They have not done anything else for us even though they said they would contact a repair tech and have them come and see what could be done with the fridge.
That was 2 weeks ago. We experienced trouble with this company back in 2007, shortly after we purchased all brand new Frigidaire appliances. Our stove, glass top, began turning on. The front left element would glow bright red. The company and the retailer (Jacob Nathan, Napanee) would not believe our claims. We had a recommended service tech check the stove and he disconnected the electrical panel, assuring us that that would fix the problem momentarily. Not so. Again, the front element turned bright red and hot. We were shocked that this was happening and worried that the stove might cause a fire. So we shut down the power breaker and unplugged the unit. We went through continual arguments with both the company and the retailer. With a hint of luck, some management person from the West Coast heard about our problem and immediately directed both the retailer and the company to replace the stove.
Obviously, there were others experiencing this same problem. We settled with a cheaper version of the stove and never asked for any compensation (regarding microwavable foods and other means of feeding our large family). I am very irritated with this company and most recently, I sent an email directly to the company explaining our difficulties with their staff and terrible products. I will never deal with this company again and I hope you can give us some advise as to proceed with our situation.

I asked her why I was not told from the beginning and had to go through all these trouble to get a serviceman to agree to come out and then cancel it! As you can imagine, I was very **!
She told me that she would call local Lowe’s and have it delivered 48 hours after the last call with Frigidaire. Local Lowe’s called me to come to pick up my refrigerator. They told me that they did not have order for home delivery. I called Frigidaire again. This time, I was told by another representative that because of my compact size refrigerator, the company does not cover delivery and I have to pick it up myself! I told her I had my refrigerator delivered when I bought it from Lowe’s last year. I did not have any mean or help to be able to do it myself then and I can't do it now either. It was not my intent to buy their defected refrigerator. If only I would had known then that their products were not reliable, I would have gone with plenty other companies who make much better reliable home products.
I insisted on the company must cover for its delivery no matter what size of the refrigerator is. If I had it delivered when I bought it, it needs to be delivered when it's replaced. I was turned away by one after another after another. I kept insisting on talking to the higher up chain of command. Finally, after almost 2 hours on phone with them, they agreed for me to pay delivery fee up front and they will reimburse me later. They all had no comment when I asked them to put themselves in my position, being at the receiving end of their service, if they think this is fair to consumer. I'm still without a refrigerator for a week now since mine was broken.

The noise is so loud that the last technician (Robbie from California Appliance Tech) tape recorded the noise ad the last call I made, Tiffany and Alice said the background noise was too loud. They could not hear me. I told them it was the refrigerator. My last attempt has been to write Better Business Bureau in Macon, Georgia. Today I called the store where I purchased the Lemon and no help from General Mgr Tommy **.
Please Help. I spent good money for a piece of junk. I am out of $500 and still don't have an ice maker or water dispenser. Which means, I will have to purchase another. Who has that type of money these days. Besides it should be the manufacturer's fault. It is a lemon!

I own quite a few Frigidaire appliances. I've owned my Frigidaire side by side refrigerator for six years. It still operates efficiently but the freezer door is rusting from the inside out at the corner of the ice/water dispenser. The freezer door rusted from the inside out. Paint is bubbling with rust. I've read that it's of course out of warranty but you'd expect the rust would be the last thing to happen to your refrigerator. This will be the last Frigidaire I'll buy!

We bought our fridge three weeks ago and it has already conked out. It does not freeze or cool. We lost a lot of food. When I contacted customer service at Frigidaire, I spent nearly an hour just trying to get clarification on how to get reimbursed for our food loss. I was given several different maximum amounts allowed and several different avenues for making the claim, none of which were clearly explained to me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was put on hold for over 20 minutes before being disconnected just as I was being told that the supervisor was coming on the line. I still do not have a clear understanding of if/how Frigidaire will reimburse me for the losses I incurred due to their defective product. Poor quality appliance+poor customer service=loss of my business. I can't believe an American company would act this way.

This is a condensed copy of the email I sent to Chris Polk at Electrolux today 7/19/2010. "We bought our first Frigidaire refrigerator on 6/29/2005. In less then 2 years, the unit started to fail and was running over 50 degrees. After many service appointments which were thankfully covered by an extended warranty we purchased through the retailer. They opted to give us a brand new refrigerator. It's now a few years later, and our extended warranty has expired and the problems have started up again.
Refrigerator number 2 has started leaking underneath the fridge and started making some dreadful noises last night. The noises were so loud it woke us from a sound sleep. The only way we can get it to stop is to shut the entire unit off. We have a couple hundred dollars worth of food packed into coolers (90+ degrees in our area). We have set up a service appointment with the retailer this Thursday (the earliest they had available). However, we're torn on whether we want to even go through with getting the unit repaired. With continued issues with the brand, we're lacking the confidence in the brand's longevity and reliability. This could potentially be a very costly repair since the extended warranty is expired by one month. Furthermore, we're concerned this fridge will just break down again and we'll be out a lot of money and we'll just have to go back to square one."
I'm hoping they can do something for us. I almost want to scrap this fridge and never buy another Frigidaire product again. Oh and I haven't even brought up the issue with our dishwasher yet! That's a hunk of junk too. Poor design, operates but rack system is very shoddy. Already had it repaired twice, once for rack (still broken) and once for the electronic instrument panel.

I purchased Frigidaire side by side refrigerator on June 16, 2009 from Lowe's. Since May 2010, the filter started leaking and two of the door shelves broke off. I called one of the repair companies listed from Frigidaire. The repairman said the filter was defective but Frigidaire will not replace it. I called another repair company because the leak continued. This repairman said it is not the filter but the filter housing that needs to be replaced. The day he came back to install the housing, I noticed some food in the refrigerator had frozen on the second shelf and the light was cutting off and on. He installed the housing and left. Two hours later, our refrigerator was leaking so bad we had to call the repair company again.

On May 5th 2009, I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator for my summer home in Delavan, Wisconsin. The refrigerator was purchased from Lowe's also located in Delavan. After the refrigerator was delivered, my family did the usual and stocked the unit. Because this is our summer home, we only get up to the cottage twice or three times a month during summer season. The electric bill for the cottage is sent to our permanent home in Chicago and we soon noticed that the electric bill was unusually high, and when we leave the cottage, the only electricity being used is for the refrigerator.
Upon returning to our cottage, we noticed that the refrigerator was constantly running and upon checking further, we learned that the contents in the freezer were not frozen, and the items in the lower unit were warm too. Upon returning to Lowe's, we learned that their warranty was only good for 30 days (about 45 days had passed). We would have to go through Frigidaire for service under the warranty terms. Because it was the end of the summer season and the cottage is shut down for the winter, we decided too pull the plug on the refrigerator, and wait until the spring to order service.
In January 2010, I called Frigidaire to order service and set up an appointment for April 2010, and a week prior to the appointment, I went up to the cottage and plugged the refrigerator back in. On April 5th, the service technician contracted by Frigidaire arrived and after inspecting the refrigerator, he wrote on the correction sheet, "No Freon in system, won't run with no Freon, possibly compressor damaged, recommend to replace unit." No parts were replaced by the technician but he did say that most likely Frigidaire would require them to fix the unit and not replace it.
I re-contacted Frigidaire and the problem was being referred to their Follow-Up Unit. The follow up unit contacted me and informed me that the unit had to be repaired. After insisting that based on their own technician's assessment of the unit that repairs would not be cost effective, and may not result in good repair, I asked Frigidaire that the unit be replaced.
After asking for replacement, Frigidaire insisted the unit be repaired, that we reorder service on the unit, and promptly hung up on us greatly upsetting my wife. Service was ordered, the tech did replace a part, and recharged the system. When the tech left, the unit was getting cold, and I hoped the problem was solved. But guess what, upon returning to the cottage this week, sure enough, the fridge was again dead on arrival. Figuring this might happen, when I arrived home after the repair, I knew that the one year warranty would be expiring in a matter of days, so I ordered an extended warranty on the piece of junk.
As of this posting, I am now going to have to call and argue with Frigidaire again, most likely re-order service, and waste my time again driving the 140 mile round trip to the cottage and back. Sorry for the long post, but in closing don't ever buy a product from Frigidaire because you'll be sorry!

We bought a Frigidaire refrigerator after Katrina. To date, we have had it serviced at least 5 times. We have had the compressor replaced, and on 3 different occasions the technician has changed the freon input valve because of a faulty valve. The freon eventually leaks out and the unit stops cooling.
Also, the evaporator coil inside the refrigerator ices up and then the bottom inside panel has to be removed and the coil defrosted. We are extremely unhappy with this unit. We have to periodically replace all of the food and contents of the refrigerator due to spoilage because of the poor cooling.

I purchased a defective Frigidaire Professional Series refrigerator and the compressor has gone out on the unit 04/29/09, 04/13/10 and again on 04/21/10 after being replaced on April 19, 2010. I paid a $79 service fee to California Appliance Tech for each initial visit. I have been given false statements by Electrolux representatives and I have kept accurate records to document their inconsistencies.
I have had two separate technicians inform me that the compressor should have never gone out in such a short time of operation. I have formally requested that Electrolux communicate with me solely in writing and Ms. ** has failed to do so. I have asked that all of my request to resolve this matter be responded to in one correspondence and she has refused to comply. It has become very obvious to me that Ms. ** does not want to put anything in writing because she knows that where this case is potentially heading. I have grown extremely frustrated with the lack of progress and dishonest communication. In order for this matter to be completely resolved, I will need all of the items listed below to be fulfilled.
1) I will need a replacement refrigerator and freezer for my units as agree to by Elizabeth **.2) I will need a full warranty for both replacement units.
3)I will need an expected due date for the food reimbursement check. Ms. ** indicated that Electrolux does not cover food reimbursement, however when I spoke with supervisor Maria, she contacted corporate office and spoke with Shantiya and I was offered $100. This is just one of many inconsistencies that I have dealt with.
4) I will need a time line for the refund for both payments to California Appliance Tech for service fees.
I was told that the Frigidaire Professional Series was the top of the line product that Electrolux offered and that could not be further from the truth. On March 14, 2007, my microwave door handle inexplicably came undone. My dishwasher broke down and flooded my entire kitchen. I have requested the name, title, and contact information for the supervisor of Ms. Elizabeth ** and she has blatantly declined to provide it. She indicated that I would need to go through the chain of command.
I have done that and nothing has been done. I made it clear that if the only thing that she could offer me was replacing the refrigerator and freezer that I appreciated her efforts and it was definitely time to move on to the next person. I just received word from my sister that while she was house sitting for me the weekend of April 19, 2010, my infant nephew became ill because his formula was found to be spoiled after she retrieved it from my refrigerator.

I bought a beautiful Frigidaire Gallery Series side-by-side refrigerator/freezer in June 2004. After looking around at different brands and models, I chose the Frigidaire due to the fact that it was manufactured by Electrolux--a name I thought at the time was well-respected. Boy, was this purchase a mistake. Several weeks after purchasing it, the store I bought from had to come out and adjust it because it was leaking water and not cooling properly. It's 3 weeks old, mind you.
I should have known this would be an omen. After a number of oddities and minor quirks over the next several years, the refrigerator developed a strange noise. After un-plugging the unit overnight, the noise would go away for several days at a time. I should have known better than to leave this thing alone for a week while I went on vacation.
I returned from vacation to a house that smelled like death warmed over literally. Both the refrigerator and freezer failed during the week I was gone. When I returned, the unit was still running; and (after donning a surgical mask to keep from throwing up) upon checking the temperature inside the unit, I found it sitting at a nice and toasty 93.2 degrees--about 22 degrees warmer than my house! Imagine that!
All this time, I have not owned a refrigerator but an oven in drag! I lost over $600 in food, and I still have not gotten the odor completely out of my house. And now wonder if I ever will!
The day after this disaster unfolded, I contacted Electrolux "customer service" (I use the term loosely.). They really could not have cared less about this situation or the fact that their product failed. But they were kind enough to refer me to a local repair service at my own expense since the 5-year extended warranty I bought from them expired 10 months ago! Needless to say, this is my last Electrolux anything ever.

Feb.22, 2010, when my fridge was about 7 mos. old, the interior light bulb blinked off as I opened the door. No big deal, I thought I'll just change it. What I saw next was unbelievable! The bulb was actually stuck into the ceiling of the refrigerator because it had burned a hole right into the surface. The diameter of the hole is 2" x 2" round and a discolored brownish yellow burned mark is left in the ceiling from this occurrence.
I have pictures of the hole that Frigidaire just wants to patch up. After writing numerous letters to Frigidaire, I finally received the response I was waiting for. It stated that there should have been a protective metal plate installed above the bulb, to prevent it from coming in direct contact with the top of the refrigerator. I went back to the store of purchase and verified this; all of the refrigerators did indeed have the protective plate and/or plastic casing surrounding the bulb. When I studied mine I saw 2, what looked like holes that were not perforated (?) apparently for that missing piece. Frigidaire refuses to accept this as a defect or issue a recall, and just wants to issue a patch kit to hide the hole. This is an Energy Star refrigerator so the energy efficiency has been compromised because of the hole. I have been dealing with Frigidaire for over a month now fighting that this hole was caused by an installation error and warrants a replacement not a repair. Their advice to me was to take the patch job while it was still under warranty. I told them I was not agreeing with their solution. Then I was told they needed 3 reports from 3 different of their certified technicians. These technicians are only able to come on certain days during the week.
This has caused frustration in my trying to schedule days when my spouse has his day off which is bi-weekly. The issue is because of Frigidaire’s failure to have had that piece installed, in the first place, is what triggered the aftermath in damages both physically (to the product) and emotionally, because of my frustration over the last month and a half. I am now being told in their most recent letter that I misunderstood the phone call about the 3 technicians. Apparently these technicians needed to have actually "worked" on my appliance 3 different times for the same issue before they would consider a replacement (basically then it would be considered a lemon). I am certain (and the phone call should have been recorded for certainty) that is not what was said. They basically don't want to agree they screwed up. My question is, was it just my refrigerator or is there a whole lot of that same model that has had this same occurrence?

I just want you to know, I will not buy another Frigidaire ever. I need a refrigerator that will work for me and allow me the satisfaction of not having worries any other month, so it's goodbye Frigidaire forever.
