Styrofoam and wires were frozen into the ice in the ice maker. We had an extended warranty so we called on May 29th, 2015. They said we would have our refrigerator fixed within 3 to 14 days. It is now June 29th and we still don't have a refrigerator and can't get any answers from Frigidaire on when we might get it fixed.

I have had the door bins fall out repeatedly. A few times resulted in broken glass and liquid mess everywhere. I tried contacting the store where we bought it with no joy. I tried calling Frigidaire and they gave another number and I was on terminal hold, so I hung up. No joy with Frigidaire, so never ever again!

I will never buy anything through Frigidaire again. Purchased a refrigerator at Conns and two years after my purchase the refrigerator caught on fire. Conns told me to file a insurance claim and that didn't do anything. And now I have called Frigidaire and they haven't did anything either. So my advice is to never buy anything at Conns and don't buy Frigidaire products because if anything happens you won't get help from either companies.

I bought a condo in Mid-April/2015 from 1st owner. Occupancy in the building started in Dec/2014. 1st owner never resided there. He was even overseas at the time of the deal. I moved to the unit on 9/6/2015 and found out a couple days later that the lower door handle of the fridge had a crack on one side of the screw. The problem was overlooked at first. It seemed that the workman applied excessive force when putting the screw in during the manufacturing process. The consequence is that the handle will come off one day when the crack extends to the other side of the screw.

I sent email to Frigidaire on 13/6/2015. There was an Auto reply from Electrolux saying that someone will contact me in 2 business days. Having heard nothing till 18/6/2015, I called the company and spoke to a lady who did not answer my question properly. Quite on the contrary, she said that the warranty covered only the 1st owner. I disagreed and told her that I was not 1st owner of the condo but being the 1st owner of the fridge, I should be honoured the warranty of the product. Counting from the Occupancy date which was Dec/2014, the fridge should still be under warranty and the company had to replace the door handle on-site.

The lady did not take my words and just told me to write to the Customer Service Dept. I did that on same day. Again, another auto-reply popped up saying someone would contact me in 2 days. Once again, no phone call or email received regarding my complaint. So I sent a 3rd email on 23/6/2015 with same auto-reply but as usual nothing was heard till late afternoon today. I am really frustrated about the customer service of Frigidaire. It actually did not exist at all. I just need to know if my fridge is still under warranty and what will be done about the door handle.

My fridge stop blowing cold air on Memorial Day exactly one year after purchasing. The temp went up to 60 degrees. Lost $200 worth of groceries? The next day called Frigidaire to set up service. After (2) service tech appts, it's the compressor. Third service call, they replaced the compressor. Everything seemed fine. Filled it again. $200 later, it stops blowing cold air? Call service, they come back a fourth time, tech said it cannot be fixed? Fifth service call, they brought a new evaporator to replace the old one.

The part in the box was not the right part? Sixth service call, brought the right part? Installed it and fridge will not blow cold. I'm putting the fridge on the back porch. If they want to come a seventh time, it's outside! They never offered to replace it. Why, I don't know? The fridge is exactly one year old! I paid for the extended warranty too! They plain suck! Six times I had to take off from work! This is not worth losing my job over! At this point I purchased a new fridge and plan on dumping the unfixable one! Should they have offered me a new one… You better believe it! Nightmare!

We bought a new home in Dec of 2013 and the lovely new kitchen was fully equipped with brand new Frigidaire gas range with convection oven, dishwasher and side by side fridge and freezer. They were all top of the line Gallery Professional stainless steel and still had the packing materials and tags. The ice maker never worked and had to be replaced, but the ice pours out so frantically that it shoots all over the kitchen floor. The dishwasher wouldn't work well. It was difficult to get any of the cycles to run and the shelves kept falling off their tracts. We wound up replacing the dishwasher with a Miele which runs like a dream machine.

The gallery gas stove gets so hot when the oven is on that the front control knobs can't be touched without a potholder to keep your hands from being burned. The back panel is buckled and partly melted from the extreme heat. The burners are so poorly spaced that if you try to boil water for pasta on the left back burner, the back panel gets too hot to touch so you can't use the timer or oven controls. When the oven is on the venting comes out through the back panel blowing the oven heat onto the stove surface. This stove is a danger to use. I've already been burned twice and yesterday my son was burned when his hand accidentally came in contact with one of the metal front burner dials.

I have call the company's customer service and they have dozens of stock responses that make the customer feel somehow guilty of misusing these wretched appliances. I asked them if anyone else has had problems similar to mine and they told me I was the first call they've had with these issues. Well I didn't believe them so I looked online. And boy did I find hundreds of similar complaints so now I ask, who wants to join me in bringing a class action suit against Frigidaire? You can contact me at **.

After 2 weeks I noticed icicles hanging inside the refrigerator freezer door. I got in touch with Frigidaire and was told to contact a Appliance repair shop (Apollo in Brockton Mass.). I called them, they came 1 week later and told me the seal was the problem. They put some silicone along the door and told me this should take care of problem, it didn't.

I called them back, they installed a new gasket and more silicone. The icicles are more widespread now. I called Frigidaire, talked to a **. She sent me a list of more repairers which included the Apollo service. This is a brand new refrigerator! It has malfunctioned since day one. I am getting no satisfaction from the company. I am very sorry that I elected to purchase this brand. Their customer service is horrible. My problem is worse now. My old refrigerator I owned for 18 years worked better than this.

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator which is one year old. Two days outside of the warranty, the doors stop sealing. I called Frigidaire and they refused to honor the warranty. I finally talked them into repairing the fridge. The tech found that the doors are warped. They will be replaced but I feel they should replace this obvious lemon. If not that, at least give me an extended warranty to prove they feel this appliance does not need replacing. After the cost of the parts and labor, they would be well on their way to the cost of a new appliance!!! I have never owned an appliance that failed after 1 year. Most go 10 or 20 years...not this one. Steer clear of Frigidaire.

Appliance company came today to look at it and advised the compressor needs to be replaced again! Called Frigidaire and was advised by the agent that they have a 3 strike policy on replacing it with a new one. So the fridge has to break 3 times, lose all my freezer food 3 times before they will replace the "lemon" fridge with a new one. Asked to speak with the Manager and was advised ** was leaving for the day so he couldn't take my call. So be aware of the terrible customer service and policies for Frigidaire and don't buy their products unless you plan on having it break down and cost you a lot of money in replacing food and time.

I have made approximately 8 service requests for my Frigidaire French door refrigerator since January 2011. I purchased it in late October 2010. The ice maker and water device in door would not work. I had snow in my freezer. Eventually the snowing stopped sometime in 2012, and I stopped trying to use the door water/ice features. In March 2015 while I was having my kitchen floor replaced it was determined that a 1 square foot hole was under my refrigerator, so that was repaired as well as floor joists that had also decayed for some reason. Upon the new floor being installed we noticed a pool of water forming daily to the right of the front of the refrigerator. This led us to suspect the cause of the hole in the floor which I then realized was not present when the refrigerator was installed. I had disconnected the water tube to the unit, so the water forming on the floor was from something else.

We turned off the unit and about 3 days later the pooling stopped. Today I had a reputable repairman tell me the unit is not repairable because the coupling between the condensation drain tube and the tube attached to the drip pan has a hole in it which is common for my model refrigerator. I am coldly mad. I patiently waited for two years and many service calls to fix the refrigerator's other problems which are still present, but never did someone tell me there was a latent defect. I am investigating a class action suit against Frigidaire. Anyone want to join?

Frigidaire LGHB2867PF Gallery - Called Frigidaire customer service on a Saturday morning, 10 days after the fridge arrived and waited approximately 25 minutes to be connected, as all representative were busy with an extremely high call volume, at 9:00 am. Hmmm! Explained what was going on with the freezer temperature and was told that a service call with a Frigidaire had been set up. I would be receiving a call from their certified dealer to schedule an appointment. The company that was suppose to contact me was 40 minutes away. Thought that was unusual since I live in Columbus, OH. Called Frigidaire back the following Wednesday and they said they would try and find someone else to come check the fridge but it may take a few days with the Memorial weekend holiday on Monday.

Called Lowe's; bought appliances from them, and they scheduled service with their repairman for the next day. A repairman came took the temperature reading for the freezer and it was 11 degrees...which apparently can be either 8 degrees or 14 degrees; "3 degree variation is normal I suppose when taking the reading", they say. Repairman called Frigidaire and didn't really know what the problem was. Was I shutting the door all the way, etc. After repairman got off the phone I asked "What did he suggest?" He mentioned a new temperature control, and would come out the next day to take another temp reading.

After he left I went to Lowe's and asked them to make arrangements to pick up all 3 appliances, I would find another brand. I was not going to go with a process of elimination to figure out what was wrong with my 2 week old refrigerator. Frigidaire got back with me on Tuesday May 26, and said they had a repairman from Columbus OH that would be out the next day; 11 days after my initial call. Told the gentlemen I would not be needing service as the refrigerator was being returned that day. Poor customer service, poor product.

Many phone calls later, I still have no mother board, no working refrigerator -- and no end in sight, I can't even get anyone on the phone who will take responsibility for either returning the fridge, or even giving me a ship date for the part. This refrigerator was purchased brand new from Best Buy ($1500). After the first 18 months, the refrigerator stopped cooling and reached a temp of 68 so I had to throw all food away. I defrosted the fridge by powering off and unplugging. I plugged in next day and it worked fine for about 6 months. Then again, I threw all food away. I had someone come and look, they said very hard to work on and didn't do anything. So, I defrosted and unplugged.

Again, good for a few months. Then, again I had to throw all of my food away. This had happened 3 times in the past 2 months. To make matters worse, the digital temp is reading 40 right now and the actual temp is really 56, so I didn't even know my food was out of temp until a couple days when I noticed that my water wasn't really getting cold in my fridge. Also, the ice maker produces about 12 cubes a day. I am beyond aggravated. I would never ever recommend this brand to anyone. This was an investment when I bought my home.

In June of 2013 I bought all new kitchen appliances from P.C. Richards. My stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator were all Frigidaire products. Within the first two days of them being delivered my refrigerator wasn't working and I moved all my food to a friend's house until the P.C. Richards service person could get there. They fixed it. Two and a half months later my Frigidaire refrigerator stopped working again. This time I was at work and all my food spoiled and I lost everything in my freezer and refrigerator. Frigidaire told me there was nothing they could do about the loss of food, but they sent someone out to repair it and extended my warranty for an additional 6 months.

Fast forward to Monday, May 26... I come home after a week of vacation to the stench of something in my condo. As I walked further into my home, I realize the smell is coming from the kitchen. When I opened the door to the refrigerator I was almost knocked over by the smell but it wasn't until I opened the freezer with all the defrosted and rotting meat that I threw up. For the third time in less than 2 year my refrigerator has broken again. For the second time I lost all my groceries... and after speaking to 3 different customer service reps, (each person allegedly above the other) the only solution Frigidaire would offer is to have someone come and repair the fridge. This is not an acceptable response for two reasons.... the smell of the refrigerator is so bad even after cleaning several times with bleach and hot water, there is no way I'm keeping it in my home, let alone put food in it.

Second, I believe this refrigerator to be a lemon since it hasn't worked correctly since day 1. I am not allowing Frigidaire to come and fix it only for it to break again and lose all my groceries again. What am I supposed to do? Go food shopping everyday because I'm afraid to leave anything in my refrigerator longer with the fear of it breaking again??? Basically the 3 customer service people I spoke to told me that all they can offer and I'm SOL. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, and the department of Consumer Affairs in New Jersey, Georgia and North Carolina, where Frigidaire and their parent company Electrolux are located. All I want is half the cost of the refrigerator so I can go elsewhere and use that money towards a different brand refrigerator.

I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator a little over a year ago. During the first 12 months of ownership I contacted the store I purchased it and was told to contact Frigidaire directly with my complaint. The complaint I have is regarding the ice maker chute on the outside of the door. It dispenses cubed and crushed ice at such a high volume that I can't allow anyone else other than myself to use it since it shoots ice out so fast that a majority of it goes on the floor which results in potential damage to the brand new laminate floor I recently installed. I even have to use a large mouthed tumbler when I use it. Recently I had family over for Memorial Day. I came in from grilling outside to find my mother frantically crawling around on the floor trying to pick up all of the tiny pieces of ice before they melted and ran into the flooring.

She was upset with herself and feared she had ruined my new floor. I am so tired of going through this same scenario and want everyone possible to know about it. Over several weeks time, Frigidaire provided 4 separate service calls with no remedy. On the last service call I was basically told in so many words "sorry about your luck, that's just the way it is designed and you have to live with it." During the attempted repair process I was shipped a chute extension that is used either on older models or new models but it is not made to fit in my unit. The service man mentioned the extension as well and even said he wasn't sure why they don't use them on all models since he was aware of the ice maker on steroids issue.

I am typically a very patient person but find this to be quite unacceptable. I purchased this unit with plans to replace the rest of my older kitchen appliances with matching stainless steel Frigidaire appliances. I am stuck now with trying to find other manufacturers models with similar appearance and characteristics since Frigidaire is not willing to make good with what I think any consumer would expect to receive. I have exhausted any and all of the resources Frigidaire provides and want to scream. I will never buy another Frigidaire appliance...EVER!

I bought a french door fridge with water and ice dispenser at hhgregg. After 6 months the ice maker and water system froze up. A serviceman offered that we should shut it down and attempt to melt the iced up lines with a hair dryer. We did this and it worked but refroze in a short time. He then came and took apart the cover over the water coil and thawed the line. This was covered by the warranty. After owning this for a year the temperature in the freezer went up and the fridge temperature also went up. We called the serviceman again and he came and replaced a small evaporator fan motor that cost over $100.00 just for the part.

The entire time we have owned this ice has build up on the water coil first about every 2 months and now it occurs every 3 or 4 days. The ice also build up at the back of the ice maker on the back wall of the fridge. The freezer sometimes is at 0 degrees and other times it goes to 20 degrees. The food is often barely frozen. I have had to shut the unit down and defrost the ice build up in the ports that run from the freezer to the fridge. Now the water line seems to be leaking at the back of the ice maker. I have now shut the water line off that feeds it, I hope this stops the ice. All the while this fridge makes noises like I have never heard before. Snapping and banging and noise that sounds like ice cubes falling into an empty tray, but the ice maker is never working. This is the worst appliance I have ever owned.

It would be almost 3 weeks until the part would be in. We patiently waited for our part and were finally notified (it was a few days past 3 weeks) that the part was in.

By this time an entire month had passed but I was confident that it would fix the problem. Well, that has had no effect on the performance at all. The first time was about 1 1/2 years after I purchased it because the water filter kept freezing and cracking so water would leak all over the inside and out the bottom. After pulling it out and taking the ice maker apart (which is located in the upper left side of the refrigerator part) the service technician said there was nothing wrong and there was no way it would have cracked had I changed it every year as recommended. What does that have to do with it freezing? And guess what... I changed it every 4 to 6 month because we drink A LOT of water and once I start tasting the different or the filter change light comes on, I changed it.

The second time was about 8 months after that and it was because it would take an entire day to make one tray of ice. After the service technician spent about an hour looking at it he determined that we open the freezer too much which causes the freezer temperature to go too far above the "set" temperature which in turn causes the ice maker to shut off. Really? It's just me (who works all day) and two teenagers who are NEVER home so who's been opening it too much? For a few months after that I would just buy bags of ice and put it in the ice bin... The ice maker has not made much ice since then.

This last service call took place after we returned from a week long vacation. We got home and I went grocery shopping and stocked the refrigerator. A few days later I woke up to the refrigerator making a loud, rattling noise. I called the repair man and he said someone had to have left the doors open because the entire line from the ice maker is frozen. Then he proceeded to tell me that there is no automatic defrost on my unit.

After a few choice words he went to his truck and made a phone call... I thought he was calling the police but when he came back in the house he said he was wrong and there is an automatic defrost on my unit and the heating element and the defrosting coils are bad and I need to have them replaced. Of course it is going to cost me another $70 service call PLUS $330 for the parts and labor but the best part is that they can not get the parts until Monday... Today is Wednesday. Really?

I have 5-6 days to get this fixed AND I can't leave my refrigerator on because #1 - it has to defrost so he can get to the parts that have to be replaced and #2 - it is so loud now that you can hear it through-out the house. I contacted Frigidaire and they basically said my warranty has expired but they would give me 10% off the cost of any new part needed. What about the two previous service calls? What about the food that I just purchased? What about the stress of dealing with a faulty product?

So as I sit here with coolers stacked around my kitchen trying to salvage some of the $246 worth of food I just purchased I have to wonder, how did he know it was the heating element and defrosting coils since he originally said it was the compressor "working overtime" because someone left the doors open and why in the hell won't Frigidaire take ownership of this piece of crap product? I will never purchase another Frigidaire product and I will make sure ALL friends and family are aware of the poor product and even worse customer service.

I bought a fridge about 2 yrs ago, after about 1 1/2 years the shelves broke. I called Baillio's the place I bought fridge and I was told the shelves are considered cosmetic and not covered by the extended warranty I bought. How can shelves be considered cosmetic when you need them to place food on them? I will never never never buy a Frigidaire product again. The plastic that surrounds glass shelves is thin and brittle. I am a single person so I don't have that much food at any given time in fridge. I haven't checked to see how much it would cost me to replace shelves but if I am going to end up with same quality I am not sure I even want to spend money on them and I am sure they are not cheap. I am thinking of using duct tape to repair them and when I get company I will use that as a reason to repeat my story. Hopefully it will stop at least one person from purchasing this product.

They schedule three delivery but only showed up for one and I had to miss work for three days. The appliances I ordered arrive three weeks later than the schedule time of delivery. We've never had Frigidaire appliances until Nov 2014 when we bought a house that had just been furnished with FOUR brand new, stainless steel Frigidaire appliances. (A stove, 2 refrigerators and a dishwasher.) All of these appliances still had stickers and tags from being purchased and had never been used. The dishwasher did not work from the very beginning. It would not fill with water. After repairmen came 3 times to fix it, it is finally working now. One of the refrigerators had the compressor go out on it and we lost all the food in the fridge/freezer. The icemaker went out on the other freezer and we had to have the repairman look at it because it is so LOUD, although he said there's nothing he could do about it. (Keep in mind, these are appliances that are less than a year old and have only been in use for 5 months.)

We had someone come to repair the stove because the oven causes the stovetop to get SO HOT that it will burn your hand if you have something you are trying to cook on the eyes of the stovetop. That is because the stupid thing vents out of the top, right onto the surface of the stovetop. So if your oven is set to 400 degrees, guess what the temperature is when you reach over to stir the pot on the stove? 400 degrees. The entire stove unit gets so hot that it trips the safety feature on our electrical outlets on that wall. So when I use my oven, the electricity for the whole wall will shut off because the outlets assume the house must be on fire for that much heat to be generated. It is absolutely the stupidest, most horrible design I could imagine and the repairman that came out to look at it told us he gets called out all the time for Frigidaire stoves because people think they're faulty/fire hazards, but that is actually how they are designed to work.

As I sit here right now with all the contents of my refrigerator/freezer scattered across my kitchen in coolers while we wait another week for the compressor to come so the repairman can come back to fix it, (if you add up all the time involved in what I just described you will see we are going WEEKS without this refrigerator and having to live out of coolers)... I just cannot emphasize strongly enough how much I HATE Frigidaire appliances.

They had 4 chances to prove to me they can make a decent product with the 4 appliances in this house and every one of them has been a horror to deal with. Absolutely horrible. I don't even understand how they are still in business selling junk like this. (And I get angrier and angrier every time I see my poor dad, who lives in the downstairs part of our house with the refrigerator that is currently not working, having to dig through coolers to find his cancer medication because he has bone cancer and it's no picnic for him to have to bend and do that.)

If you CALL Frigidaire and complain they will tell you their warranty will take care of it for you... but they definitely don't consider or give a crap about how inconvenient it is for people who paid a lot of money for appliances not to have them to use because they don't work properly. They should be forced to pay us back for all the time and effort and energy exerted having to deal with their faulty, poorly-built products... not to mention the time off of work we all have to take to make sure someone is home when the steady stream of repairmen come and go from this house. It is awful... awful. I wish I didn't have to even put the one star on this review because I don't want to give them one star.

Our Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator quit working after 1 year and 2 months. It was just outside of warranty. We called several repair people and nobody would work on this refrigerator. Finally got ahold of a repair man that would attempted to fix it but had no luck. Over $200.00 later, we find out the main board is shot and they won't fix this because they take too long and they inevitably get the wrong part from the manufacturer. Got ahold of the manufacturer to get a name of a service repair person that will actually work on their product. They are paying for replacement parts but labor is on us. While that is a nice gesture, we didn't buy a major appliance so that it could only last a year. From what I have read, this is a continuous problem with this brand.

What a horrible mistake! This refrigerator is so loud!!! But, just sometimes. Sometimes it runs quietly as it is suppose to operate. Three repairmen have been here, two have heard how loud it is. Finally the third repairman told us that this is just the way this model operates! If we want a quieter refrigerator, we need to get a larger refrigerator!!! What is that all about??? Why did they not tell us this at Lowe's? The model number is: LFHT2117NF5 and the serial number is 4A42313063. It is just the two of us, we do not need a huge refrigerator.

I can tell you now that I am saving up for a new refrigerator and it will not be a FRIGIDAIRE! My wife bought a very expensive "top of the line" Frigidaire freezer-refrigerator for our newly purchased home a little over four years ago (galleria model). After numerous problems with the ice maker freezing up, ice accumulations on the back of the appliance, unprovoked freezer thawing episodes and the resultant ruined food, the unit now appears to pretty much work but not before numerous service calls, and two replacement units being delivered the first was visibly damaged as was the second).

Problems did not end there however. She also bought a Frigidaire dishwasher and the door stops have given out permitting the access door to open too far. When withdrawing to lower dish rack, the dishes fall out of place colliding with each other unless great care is taken to ease the rack out from the washer itself. In addition the Frigidaire stove purchased at the same time has had its own problems, the oven occasionally shutting itself off when attempting to cook roasts etc.

The burner racks were also equipped with plastic "feet" which routinely fall out leaving the bare cast iron to directly contact the upper surface of the stove and promoting scratching of the finished surface. Replacement feet were sent but there's nothing to prevent this from happening repeatedly. Faulty design!!! Along with all the faulty designs and faulty engineering which seem prevalent in all their products. Stay away!!! Never again for me!!!

Eight months ago we bought a Frigidaire 26 cu' ft. Gallery Series refrigerator. It cost us $1500. We bought Frigidaire because it had a Sabbath mode feature. In the past, our experience with Frigidaire had been positive. Since we got it delivered, we have not had a month where this refrigerator has operated properly. Right after installation we tried to set the Sabbath mode, and the refrigerator immediately showed an error message on the display. We couldn't get it to respond and go back to normal settings. We tried to call customer service, but they were closed. Because the display wasn't working, we didn't know that the fridge had stopped working.

Later that evening, we had to scramble to put the food from this refrigerator into our small back-up fridge. Frigidaire sent out a tech to repair it and they replaced the display. It had shorted out. It also tripped our breaker. Then we noticed that the foods on the left side of the refrigerator were freezing. We have had more than half a dozen service calls to address this problem. Along with a problem of freezing foods in the deli keeper and fruit and vegetable crisper drawers. They fixed the area behind the deli drawer by closing the air intake with a gasket. The cheeses and fruits and vegetables still freeze in the deli and crisper draws. It's set down to warmest setting.

Last week they replaced the motherboard of the refrigerator telling us that it would fix the freezing in the refrigerator problem. It still freezes food, now the right side is also very cold and the refrigerator is set at 39 degrees, 2 degrees higher than recommended. We also have a persistent problem of water coming from under the refrigerator. First the water line to the ice maker and water filter burst and need to be fixed. Frigidaire sent a tech and replaced it, and it still leaks. Then they said it was from the refrigerator defrosting, because of the problem with the motherboard. and the drain pan, which is totally inaccessible, was probably overflowing.

The tech came again and said there was a problem with the fittings that had been put in when the line was replaced, not with the drain pan. They fixed them, but I still had a flood on the floor when the water to the ice maker was turned on. We turned it off, but we still have water on the floor and we can't use the ice maker and filtered water feature.

The repair techs came out twice this week to see why it still was leaking. Turns out it was leaking from inside the refrigerator cabinet, which is a sealed unit. Now the service tech told me that Frigidaire wants him to replace a pipe inside this sealed unit. The water goes from one side of the refrigerator to a valve on the other side which also was leaking. The tech department thinks it'll fix the leak, but my refrigerator is still freezing the food and I still can't use the ice maker or filtered water dispenser.

We recently had a plumbing repair, and our plumber said there was water leaking under the house from the area directly under the refrigerator. We had a water mitigation company come out and found out that there is over $5000 in damage and mold in the areas around and under the refrigerator, as well as under the house. We filed a claim with Frigidaire for the damage.

Frigidaire knows that this refrigerator has had multiple problems that still haven't been adequately repaired even after multiple attempts. Their customer service department is not to be able to communicate with their tech department to explain the problems we've had with this refrigerator. They won't replace this problem refrigerator unless their tech department, which only authorized repair techs can reach says that the refrigerator can't be repaired. Meanwhile we're stuck with food freezing and a daily water puddle to clean up. Because of our negative experience with Frigidaire over this refrigerator, we can't recommend Frigidaire as a reliable brand to purchase.

Before 9 mo. of 'new' use, the temp was too high, and online info said should be colder but mine was not. I called w/in warranty time and repairman came out, did not want me to watch him inspect, and decided a new thermostat would fix problem. Another week-and-half, he returns, puts in 2 screws and thinks problem has been solved. Done. But 3 mo. later again, the temp is high.

Now at coldest setting possible, refrigerator reads 44 degrees and the local LA service place is giving me a hard time because it is 'out of warranty'. Already? Even if the repair was so temporary? And the Best Buy store has low-pay-know-nothing employees who refer me to the Frigidaire website, which lists an automatic recorded # for Electrolux and carefully shields its employees from complainers, lemon-buyers, and fully-paid-out purchased unhappy consumers. What to do now?

I would love to know if anyone has taken whatever it takes for a Lemon Law that is for appliances, not autos. Or what to do since I am scared I will have to dispose of all-in freezer, fridge when it goes out as if the highest coldest is 44 - how soon is "out" the next step ? Frustrated at being dismissed and feeling cheated, when buying a brand new Frigidaire...and oh yes, the plastic tray over the bins cracked for no reason. I can fathom already 2" and it has remained 'dented' from a gal. of milk too. Huh? Repairman said "that is not under warranty" and I should not have so much food in fridge...huh? Where should I put it and why did I pay for a refrigerator that is already distorted, and warming up, as the world turns? Yes, I have computer receipt only.

FFHS2611LWF - Purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer less than a year ago. Two issues have been repaired since purchase was made. I am now waiting for a repair on the icemaker again. Given appointment date and time, no show, because the new icemaker had not come in. How did the repairman know a new icemaker was required when he had not examined the product? Was told he knew what the problem was as they had made numerous repairs on the icemakers in the Frigidaire refrigerators. I have come to the conclusion that the company knows that they are selling defective refrigerator/freezers to unsuspecting consumers.

Talked with the company and was basically told I should buy a bag of ice and wait for the new icemaker (part) to come in. Asked the company's service personnel if she would want to do that, she said she was talking about me, not her, and that upon receipt of the part, a repairman would set up another appointment to come out to service the unit. I have been without ice for over a week. I will never buy any appliances from Lowe's, who said there was nothing they could do about selling a defective product as they only offer a warranty on the product for a year. It would be up to the manufacturer to replace the product. So Lowe's or Frigidaire will never ever be able to sell anything to me.

I purchased a new Frigidaire refrigerator less than 7 months ago. I spent $1200.00 at Home Depot on this fridge. My fridge started leaking and upon further investigation I found it was my freezer thawing out as the unit had faulted out and turned itself off. I called the number listed inside the fridge for service where I was told someone would need to come look at the fridge to determine what parts or service was needed. Then I was given the # of another distribution facility (not Home Depot) that serviced all of Frigidaire fridges. The soonest I could get service was 5 days out. I have same problem with my refrigerator. Waiting for repair.

What began as a nuisance with the beeping noise as if the refrigerator was open turned into a very frightening experience. Our refrigerator s/n241691315, serial 4464821523, model PHLS68EESB6 had a MAJOR electrical short and the interior literally melted from the internal fire! All this while we where asleep. If not by the grace of God, the consequences could have been catastrophic. When the interior melted the door sealed shut containing the fire inside the unit!! We reported the incident too... and were told to hire one of their recognized service companies.

We did and their report concluded a major electrical defect. The refrigerator outlet was not singed or burned in any way. The fire was completely CONTAINED INSIDE THE UNIT. Frigidaire has refused to do anything about the incident stating the unit was beyond the warranty period. Apparently the beeping door complication is very documented. Google this topic for further information. DON'T THINK OF IT AS MINOR, and do not count on Frigidaire to stand behind their product!

I have spent so much time; with technician visits to the so so many phone calls to Frigidaire. Item was delivered and bought from East Coast Appliance., VB VA. Was not cooling and was so loud you could hear it when entering the house and approx every 15 mins sounded like a sick animal. First tech (E. Coast) came and said it just had to settle in and he leveled. Second tech (E.C.) came 12/12/14 determining needed to order a evap fan motor. Installed 1/14/15 and also brought wheels which I had requested b/c I did not get when delivered. Still is very loud, East Coast advised me to have Frigidaire Tech check out. Also, Frigidaire said I had to have one of their techs come out too.

First Company they scheduled was Quality Appliance Ches, VA. Never heard from them, I called Quality and said mailbox full, looked up and tried a diff number and got a furn store. 2nd Company was Fedders, same thing, never heard and never showed up. Third Company sched was Anthony's, Suffolk, VA and again - no call no show. Now this phoncon to Frigidaire (approx 6-7), kept me on phone for 41 mins. Spoke to supervisor and NOW SHE says OH, East Coast is on their list.... So Same Tech came today - called Frigidaire Techs and they advised him to order a new Compressor.

Now, I understand that YES, they are trying to fix, but this is ridiculous. I called today 2/18/15 and spoke with a corporate manager and she said they would again have to repair. I am not happy with all this repairing, considering I purchased a NEW appliance in the box - not a scratch and dent. There was also a crack in one of the drawers which she placed an order for today. I also noticed after tech left, freezer is not closing tightly (no suction). Frig door does - big difference between the two. I will also need to deal with East Coast, due to them denting (big dent) on right side and chip in the floor. I want a new appliance that will last as long as an average frig should, not repairing all these major parts. Please advise. Thank You.

I so painfully regret not reading these reviews prior to buying the complete set of Frigidaire Gallery appliances for the new house we just built. It was what our builder suggested so I didn't think much of it at the time, they looked pretty good right?!? Big mistake! It's been 4 months since they were installed and we've had TEN, count them, 10 service visits, mostly for the fridge, but still 1 for the microwave because it was originally completely defective and sounded like a commercial jet taking off when running, and 1 for the gas stove due to the bottom drawer being scratched really bad and didn't notice until we opened it a couple days after install.

I won't list the entire inventory (similar issues to almost all previous comments) of incompetence and utter lack of quality goods and services we've encountered since throwing away over 4k, but I almost fell out of my chair regarding the person that chases ice cubes all over the floor, you just outlined every other one of my 5 am mornings!

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT ever buy these items, you're better off burning your money in the fire pit out back and having some family time making s'mores. The amount of time I've taking off of work to meet the service techs at my house to accomplish nothing sums up to easily $500 and it's not over, my family simply laughs at this insanity now. The service guy (always the same guy) is almost like a tenant that lives with us. Seriously, run, and run fast from these items.

Ordered a Frigidaire stack washer/dryer on 11/13/2014 and it was installed on 11/19/2014. After 2 washes, the washer got stuck on the rinse cycle and started to flood the downstairs apartment. Called Home Depot who told me that Frigidaire was in charge of 1st year warranty problems (they blew me off after I purchased a 3 year protection plan). Frigidaire then sent out a contracted service repairman who tinkered with the machine and declared it fixed. Ran two more washes and it malfunctioned the same way on the 3rd wash. Contracted repairman refused to come back to my house because he was "Afraid of not getting paid."

After numerous phone calls between Frigidaire and repairman, he ordered the wrong part twice and in 1 month's time, finally got the correct part in and installed it. Ran 1 wash and then the same rinse cycle problem occurs again. Frigidaire says repairman is not following their "correct" procedure to declare it irreparable and can not do anything until he does. He gets argumentative and does nothing. I am stuck with a washing machine that I have had for 2 1/2 months and used 5 times. No one wants to be proactive and do something about the issue. I have spent numerous hours on the phone with all 3 companies and am stuck in a bureaucratic fight in which no one does anything. I will never buy anything from these companies again.

I have NEVER been so disappointed with a product line, as I am with Frigidaire! Not just one, not two, not even three, but FOUR Frigidaire appliances have let us down. Model #'s? Why bother! A top of the line stainless dishwasher? Broke after 1 year. Controls no longer switch from 'normal' mode to any other cycle. Never cleans correctly and leaves behind residue.

Moving on to first refrigerator. Held up fine, except EVERY plastic door rack has broke! Junk! Ok, gave them another chance and got a newer french door unit. The freezer door top trim, completely cracked across the front top. Horrible design! Most all racks are cracked. Temperature climbs out by 10-15 degrees in freezer time to time with no known cause! Fixed twice already by them, and still does the same thing. Gave up! Microwave? It's OK, but once again, sort of cheaply built, and just not what you would expect. The fridge hasn't made ice since the 1st month of my purchase. Every time I call customer service they send a tech out, the techs automatically say its my filter. Frigidaire sent me filters 2x and still having the same issues. One tech said connect the water line directly to the fridge, we did that! Change the filter, we did that! Now they don't know what more to suggest. They refuse to replace the fridge because they want the store to eat the cost..... Clearly the fridge has a recall. Today another tech came out and again no surprise he said "it's the filter." They suggest me to get a bypass filter. I told him I have kids, what is the purpose of this fridge if I can not have filtered water. His response, "Well, I don't know what to tell you."

I WILL NEVER BUY A FRIGIDAIRE PRODUCT AGAIN!!!!! They keep pushing me around till my warranty expires and then I get screwed. All I want is a replacement or my fridge fixed and to warn people BEWARE when purchasing. They won't help you or even work with you. We purchased a Frigidaire Professional top mount refrigerator; model number FPH12188PF4, on September 13, 2014. On Christmas day the unit stopped cooling. The next day we called Frigidaire and they gave us the names of 3 local companies to repair the unit. The soonest a repairman could come out would be December 29. On the first visit, we were told there was no frost pattern and there was a restriction in the line. He had to order a dye dryer so they could locate and clear the restriction out of the unit. It could not be repaired that day.

The follow-up visit occurred on January 6. A different repairman (same company) serviced a leak in the sealed system by replacing the evaporator and filter dryer and also filled it up with Freon. He stated that there was full frost pattern. He told us in 24 - 36 hours we could put food in unit. However, the next day it still was not cooling. The temperature inside was 70 degrees including freezer section. We called again and the repairman came out on January 8. He stated that the freon had all leaked out again. He contacted a Frigidaire technician and told them what he had done to fix the leak and it was still leaking.

The Frigidaire technician said that the leak must be inside the walls of the unit and told the repairman that the unit is repairable and explained what he needs to do fix the problem. The technician told the repairman these are the steps he needs to do to repair the unit: Drill 2 holes in the back of the freezer area in order to insert new tubing that will connect the evaporator to the condenser in order to bypass the tubing that they believe is leaking freon. This tubing will run on the outside of the back of the refrigerator adding an approximate 6 inches to the depth of the unit. When that is completed they will seal the holes with putty so that no cold air will escape.

Going through the front of the freezer section they will access inside and insert an electric heater that will be in addition to the current heating element that is in place in the back of the freezer for defrosting. I have no idea what this extra heaters function is but I will ask. When the repairman left, we contacted Frigidaire and spoke with a customer service representative and then ultimately a supervisor. We expressed our disappointment of purchasing a new refrigerator and have these problems occur only 3 months after purchase. Not only have we been without a refrigerator for approximately 3 weeks, we were told it could be another week or more before parts come in. The supervisor stated that they would not replace the unit as it is deemed repairable.

This is where we draw the line and feel that Frigidaire should replace the unit for a number of reasons. These are ALTERATIONS and not REPAIRS. You’re bypassing a leak, not fixing it. These ALTERATIONS negate your advertised estimated yearly operating cost ($43) because of the additional heating element being installed. By adding 6 inches to the depth of the unit, it is no longer the refrigerator that we purchased. When shopping for a refrigerator we took into consideration every inch possible and purchased a unit that would give us the maximum amount of CU. FT in the space that we have. This unit will no longer fit that space the way we want it to fit.

You are essentially creating a refurbished refrigerator. That is NOT what we paid for! We paid for a NEW refrigerator. If you were replacing a part that is original to the working mechanics of the unit and in the same place then we would agree with you that the unit is repairable. The place where we bought this refrigerator (Grants Appliances) went out of business 2 months after our purchase. This refrigerator should be replaced, not altered to work.

Meanwhile, the bottom internal shelf (also made with thin plastic) that holds two compartments underneath broke as well. Once again, with a small steel plate and Cold Weld, fixed it. Finally, today 30 December 14, with New Year's Eve on our mind, the refrigerator side can only reach a temperature of 52 degrees; the normal operating temperature is 34 degrees.

On the bright side, the freezer side is fully operational but the ice maker has rust; I guess they have not thought about using aluminum brackets. We spent a little extra to get what we thought would be a quality refrigerator, so we bought the Frigidaire DGUS 2645LF2 with the french doors. We are satisfied with the operation of the refrigerator, although the water filters are way overpriced. The problem we had was that the top shelf on the refrigerator door broke and caused the domino effect by breaking two of the shelves below it. My wife was getting something out of the bottom shelf and almost broke her finger. I called Frigidaire, hoping that the broken shelves would be replaced for free as they were not well made, in my opinion. I was told that the shelves are considered "cosmetic"! What?! This is a definition right out of Orwell's 1984!

We finally did get past the faulty definition for refrigerator shelves and I was told that one of the shelves would be $68 and the other two would be $79 each. Without considering shipping and handling, that already comes to $226, the cost of a brand-new small refrigerator! I am as mad as can be! I will never, ever, buy a Frigidaire product again, no matter what. I thought I was buying a good quality product, but it is made of cheap plastic that falls apart and endangers our health and welfare. Save yourself the headache and buy a different brand. My fridge was not cheap so it's not a "price point" issue. It's cheap manufacturing with cheaply made parts put together by blind monkeys. I was told there was nothing they could do for me, it's not their problem. Since then it has gotten worse of course. I tried to fix the problem myself. I could not resolve the problem. Their workmanship is shoddy at best. They must not have a quality control department or these problems consumers have would not exist. I would not want to work in their customer service department.

I'm sure by the time these people get home at night their heads are spinning from the many complaints they get during the day. I wonder if they have the products? I bought this defective Frigidaire refrigerator for my Mother 3 years ago. After 13 months the freezer would not hold the temperature and after calling Lowe's, they told me I should have bought a warranty. Nice customer service? So I had my appliance repairman come and fix it for $100+/-. Then a couple of months ago the same problem occurred, my guy came and said he couldn't fix it. This is after 3 years. I called Lowe's who referred me to Frigidaire. They sent out their repairman to take a look and give an estimate. It was higher than the cost of the refrigerator. Then they tried to charge me for coming out at Frigidaire's request! For the last two months it's been back and forth emails with Frigidaire who has offered me replacement parts but I have to pay $200 for fittings, (probably their cost for the parts they are sending me). They also want me to sign a release leaving them with no further liability.

Meanwhile my Mother has lost numerous items, can't buy anything new as the freezer is at 20 degrees, so it will keep some things frozen but not freeze anything new and most importantly to her she can't have her daily ice cream. At 89 years old there isn't much to look forward to and Lowe's and Frigidaire should be ashamed of their behavior in this matter.

Their own repairman corrected me when I said refrigerators should last 20 years by saying they only build them to last 15 years now but he told me this model has been nothing but trouble and that they either repair the unit or replace it in most cases, so what's the problem? Next weekend I'll be employing someone to stand in front of the Lowe's store I purchased the refrigerator at in Tucson so people know not to make the mistake I made in buying a Frigidaire and from buying it from Lowe's! Please let all of your subscribers know they should stay away from Lowe's and Frigidaire! Please help!

After trying troubleshooting fixes in the manual, I called a repairperson out. He replaced the fan ($280). When the refrigerator was pulled out, we both saw a large rust stain on the back (3-4" long, 1-2" wide) near the top of the evaporator where lines go through. Turns out I only had a 1-year warranty. When I called customer service, I was on hold for 27 min. while the person "talked to her supervisor" then told me they could do nothing for me. I pointed out that a 2 yr old ($2000) refrigerator should not be showing giant rust on its back (the back is also quite warped). And she just said, "there's nothing I can do for you." In late October 2014 I purchased a full package of Frigidaire appliances (Gallery Refrigerator, Gas Range and Dishwasher) for an investment property. The refrigerator was inoperable straight out of the box. The local Home Depot did not have the exact same model in stock for a replacement and the thought was a Warranty Service Repair would actually be quicker than getting another refrigerator shipped in. The service provider came in a timely manner, diagnosed a failed Motherboard and attempted to expedite the part with their Distributor. They came back with estimates of 7-14 business days at which point I called Electrolux direct to determine the issue with shipping a board direct to the service provider (this is the normal process for other Equipment Mfgs). I was told by a Customer Service Representative (who refused to give her name other than "Catherine") that I would have to pay for any expedited shipping. When I finally agreed to do so, she said there was still no guarantee of anything faster than their normal 14 business day process time.

Kudos to Frank ** at the Merchants Walk Home Depot as he did his best to expedite the part with Electrolux and sent me out a loaner refrigerator. As of this writing (November 25, 2014) I still do not have my refrigerator repaired and the latest estimate is Dec 2. No, I will never buy another Frigidaire appliance and would strongly discourage anyone else from doing so. I've never seen a company with such wanton disregard for customer service and after sales support.

Frigidaire refrigerator FGUS2642LF0 - Purchased this refrigerator in 2011. Cheap cheap cheap plastic door bins and crisper drawers!! Have replaced 2 door bins already. Of those two, one has cracked again beyond use (gone) and the other is again cracked on one side so will only be there until it cracks further and won't hold on any longer. Called Frigidaire and they want $50.63 to replace. For one bin!!! For cheap plastic that is probably going to break again based on past usage. These are the "gallon" bins that should be able to literally hold a gallon of milk!! Not! After first replacement never put a gallon of milk there again. Bins would pop off because they never seemed to attach securely and caused the cracking from weight they were holding. How heavy is salad dressing and ketchup?!

These are supposed to be made to hold these types of items!!! Also, crisper drawer has cracked in the back corner under the track. How? Definitely not sturdy enough for normal daily use. I'm afraid when I take parts out to clean they're going to break in my hands! Based in what I've read about Frigidaire products I guess I should be grateful that it's running. Knock knock! Which reminds me that the ice maker doesn't really know when to quit and makes so much ice that it overflows at the back of that bin. Guess too much ice is better than no ice! Don't see a bright future with this product that's only 3 yrs old and will never buy Frigidaire again.

I bought a Frigidaire refrigerator almost 5 years ago, and so far it works fine, except that it is very noisy. I complained about that right away, fearing it indicated a serious problem, and I was told first that it was normal for an energy saver model, but the noise is more than turning off and on, and, on another call, that it was normal for an ice maker, which is preposterous since I use it only 2 or 3 times a year. Evidently I have the latter to thank for the relatively good luck I have had, and the fact that I got a simple model to have fewer things that could go wrong. However, sometimes the noise sounds like a small airplane is taking off in my kitchen. Also, when shortly after I bought it a lightweight wooden rack fell against the door without much force because I caught it so it only lightly touched the door and slid a few inches, it left deep scratches, revealing that their Silver Mist exterior was not baked on, but only spray painted on in a hasty attempt to compete with stainless finishes.

I would never have bought it had I known this, and to their credit, they sent me paint in all the variations of Silver Mist that they used. However, it took me hours and hours to painstakingly smooth away the raised edges of the scratches without damaging the surrounding paint (I used the edge of a credit card). In 2012 I bought a Gallery range, and so far I have only one complaint about that: when I used the convection option, the cooking was very uneven, so I either had to keep turning the food I was baking or use the non-convection settings, which is what I opted to do after a year of trying the former. Now I was trying to decide if the age and the general shoddiness of products sold by our esteemed American corporations indicated that I should take advantage of their latest in a long line of letters encouraging me to buy an extended warranty. Thus I got to read all these terrible experiences. Plus a fellow dog walker told me his Frigidaire range top stopped working after two weeks, inspiring him to insist it be replaced.

Of course, the whole idea of having a manufacturing company sell extended warranties for their products is in my mind ethically suspect: it only encourages them to make bad products: ye olde "planned obsolescence" rears its ugly head. Or are manufacturers all really only sales companies for insurance policies and products badly made with cheap labor overseas?? I suspect both after a recent experience with Bose, which also is making quality second to greed. How did my fellow Americans let this happen while I was overseas for 20 years?

Back to the issue at end: should I buy the warranty? So I read the overwhelming number of overwhelmingly bad reports about repairs and poor customer service, and am still not sure what to do. I am not impressed by Frigidaire or Electrolux, the parent company, that fosters such terrible products to be sold and evidently encourages the worst possible customer service. "Amazingly," when I called Frigidaire to discuss what the extended warranty would cover, the woman I talked to couldn't have been nicer and more reassuring that just about everything except drawers, shelves and exteriors were covered. But was she trying to sell me snake oil- that is, a warranty that would actually be worthless should I actually need it. I don't have a lot of trust in a company that doesn't care how poorly their product performs.

This defect occurred in September and the Frigidaire sent out some contract repair appliance co on September 27, 2014 to repair it. They took one look and said they needed to order a part.

I am just short of two months since that visit and have heard not peep from them or Frigidaire. The unit comes with an upper ice maker that dispenses water and cubed or crushed ice as well as a lower ice maker bin in the freezer area. First service call was for no ice making capability. Reason was that the seal was not installed on the freezer properly causing an air leak. Replaced seal and ice makers began working. This was covered under manufacturers 1 year warranty. Purchased the extended warranty and during the second year the upper ice maker stopped working. Reason was fan motor was icing up and compartment failed to cool. Two service calls and repair seemed to hold for about a year. In April, 2014, upper ice maker quit making ice again. Service call rebuilt upper ice maker components. I paid $289 for labor for appliance repair. I complained to Electrolux and they covered the parts cost. At this point the extended warranty period has expired.

In October, 2014, again the upper ice maker is making a very loud buzzing noise, most likely to ice building up again. The unit is making ice, but the noise is becoming quite loud and disturbing. My youngest was considering coming home from college for the weekend, but inquired if the refrigerator was fixed before he made a decision to spend the weekend at home. In my opinion there is a manufacturers problem with this ice maker and I believe that Electrolux is aware of the problem since I understand that they do not make this model of ice maker any longer. The appliance service wants to charge me $300 for another repair and has indicated it will only be temporary fix. I am seriously considering unplugging upper ice maker at this point since no permanent solution has been provided to me.

Frigidaire FPRH19D7LF1 - In May 2012 I purchased this unit along with a matching freezer and the trim kit for our new building. In September 2014 the refrigerator quit. The authorized repairman found that the coolant had leaked out. But the unit cannot be recharged because the compressor etc… also needs replaced due to it being 'burnt' or locked up. AND… even if this unit were to be replaced, it might turn out that the leak is 'internal'. In other words, someplace other than the compressor unit and in another year or year and one half, the same problem will occur. The cost is $575.00 to replace the compressor unit. The cost of the initial visit was $85.00. I reached out to Frigidaire several times but to no avail. There is only a one year warranty on the product (In the place I moved from there are 2 refrigerators, both more than 12 years old).

Initially, I was told by the Frigidaire rep that the company would give me a discount on the parts. Then three weeks later they told me that the person who gave me that information misspoke, that since the parts I needed were 'functional' parts there could be no discount. I wanted her to make clear what ‘functional’ parts meant. If I needed a gasket or a handle then I would get a 10% discount… but not on 'moving' parts, so to speak. As it turns out, I do not want to fix it as there is no guarantee that it won't continue to leak the coolant gas. What bothers me is that this was a factory problem.

Only one person is living in this new building and he has only been there for 16 months. This problem is not from use or abuse. Now my options are: buy another of the same unit, or get rid of the matching freezer and trim kit. I simply think that Frigidaire should step up and make good. Certainly I won't venture near their products again, and I realize they make appliances for different companies. I am doing my research.

While waiting for the oven door handle, the handle fell off the refrigerator door. I called Frigidaire and they sent a service company (Big Kountry Appliance Repair) out approx 1 week. I attempted to install the oven door handle but had no way to tighten the screws to the handle.

The day the service company was to come I called Frigidaire and told them about not being to tighten the oven door handle screws and they told me to tell the appliance repair company when they come to fix the refrigerator door to tighten the oven door handle screws also. These screws do not have a normal head to tighten is the reason I could not get them tight enough. The repairman from Big Kountry Appliance refused to tighten them up.

When I called back in to Frigidaire they refused to do anything about this problem and became very rude on the phone. FRIGIDAIRE brags about being the last company that manufacturers appliances in the United States but if you press them, they will tell you most of the parts are manufactured in Mexico and only assembled in North Carolina. I could and would not recommend purchasing anything from Frigidaire!!!!!

I had originally purchased a side by side refrigerator from Sears. Sears does not stand behind Frigidaire so I began working directly with Frigidaire (Which ended up being owned by Electrolux). After many, many phone calls that only used delay tactics, I was able to get to a representative of Electrolux who conceded that Ice spewing out of the back of the refrigerator was an unacceptable condition. He sent me an email with a rebate offer for purchasing another Frigidaire. This time I went to Lowe's because they had a good extended warranty and found one on sale.

I completed all of the forms requested which included the rebate email, copy of the new purchase receipt, Warranty card for the new appliance, and the Serial tag from the failed appliance. I was told it could take 2 to three weeks. That was in July 2014. On September 10th they had no record of receiving it so I resent copies of the original mailing. I also sent copies to the "manager at Electrolux" so he would know that nothing had been received.

It is now October 20th and I have no response from the Company. The only reason I agreed to purchase another Frigidaire product was that the rest of my kitchen matched since I had purchased an Oven, Microwave, and a dishwasher from the same line. Big mistake!!! It appears that no one at this company will try to resolve the issue or return my calls, letters or emails. I see many others have the same problem. Something should be done!

Do not buy any appliances from this company! You will so spend much more money over time replacing all the parts that will randomly break as a result of poorly made products. After speaking with DASHEN the supervisor, he only offered 20% off parts. Really? My Refrigerator and Gas stove have both broke only after 3 years. I actually have a basket for all the parts that randomly fell out of my Frigidaire Refrigerator (Gallery Products). I also just spent over $400 on parts to fix my Frigidaire Gas Stove. I hate these products with a passion. This company has the worst customer service and products on the market. Trust me!

Not only will you waste money, but more importantly the precious time you will spend on the phone complaining about the product and getting nowhere (also the time wasted writing a review). I would rather use a wood-burning stove to cook my food from the early 1900's and an ice bucket to chill my food vs. using appliances made by Frigidaire. Hope this review prevents someone from encountering an appliance nightmare...

Our landlord has accused us of willful damage to his property, and has threatened to make us pay for damage to the fridge. Why did this happen? Is there a design flaw with the flood of complaints I see online, it seems there should be a recall. Is there a recall? Is there anything I can do to fix this? We purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator in April 2010. We have had nothing but problems for the last 4 years. Everything has been linked to the terrible design of the ice maker. The most repetitive problem has been the splashing of water from the tube going to the ice tray. The water would splash out, run down behind the inner wall of the freezer and eventually freeze the fan. It would start making a loud noise and within a few hours would lock the fan frozen causing the entire fridge to shut down. This then would lead to other malfunctions with circuit boards, etc. Our repairman, whom has come very familiar with us these past 4 years, says this is one of the poorest made mechanisms he has seen during his years of working on appliances. Purchased Frigidaire Gallery FGUN2642LF6 with french doors, freezer on the bottom, November 2012. Since it was installed, when you open the freezer portion with ice maker in it and pull the top rack forward to get some ice, the ice bucket gets too full and ice stacks up around the metal arm and spills ice out the back and slides onto the floor. If that isn't a nuisance enough, the metal arm sends the ice from the overflowing icemaker onto the track of the top basket. Jams the track so that you unknowingly don't close the freezer all the way. After a while, since the freezer doesn't close all the way, the contents of the freezer start to thaw. We thought maybe we had too much weight in the baskets but even with just a few items in the top and bottom racks, the problem persists. Long-time Frigidaire owner. This was a gift from family. They asked what kind of fridge we wanted. After looking at appliances, reading reviews and considering my personal experience, I requested this refrigerator (FFHI1817LBA). I'd read reviews about noisy compressors. I'd never experienced that, personally. Now I have. After 90 days, I found frost in my frost-free freezer. I mentioned it to my husband and he said maybe he didn't close the door, firmly. After I wiped it down, it reappeared. My husband grabbed a beer and asked me if I had adjusted the temp in the fridge. That's when I said I hadn't heard the noisy compressor, in about a day.

On the upside, our fridge holds a temp for about 3 days. On the downside, I would say the loud compressor is indicative of future problems. The cardboard to access the compressor should have been my first clue. It was bent during delivery. Why cardboard? My previous models had a solid back. Makes me think Frigidaire already knew the compressor was faulty and would need immediate service. I expect more than 90 days from an appliance and cardboard doesn't bode well. I wasn't looking for the least expensive refrigerator. I was looking for a fridge that fit my space and our needs. I probably won't buy another and I don't recommend this fridge, anymore. This really makes me wonder about my choice.

Frigidaire is the worst refrigerator on the market. Six months after my extended warranty ran out the ice maker crapped out on July 18th, 2014. The refrigerator is 4 years old; however, prior to that in the 1st week of ownership the freezer thermometer did not work. Frigidaire sent out a repair person, they fixed it, so to speak. 2 days later same thing happened. Again they sent a repairman. They fixed it. 2 days later same thing. Again they sent out a repairman. Then I was told they installed the wrong part, and needed a different. Long story short, they replace the entire refrigerator.

Then the water tap did not work, water just trickled out. Again the refrigerator was replace. This one seems to work ok until after about six months. I discovered it leaked at the bottom of the freezer and built up ice. I called Frigidaire again, customer service was of zero help... I finally got so fed up with their antics, excuses, lame rhetoric. I gave up. I hope lots of people read this and stay away from the horrible product. By the way Frigidaire is made by Electrolux. They are a terrible company. Stay away from any of their products.

From the first night we noticed that the refrigerator was quite loud. The ice maker sounds like it's breaking and we have to check it throughout the day because it will just keep making ice until it's so full that it jams and it still tries to make more. You have to lift the lever manually to stop it. If you don't it grinds and pops and will fill the whole freezer with ice. Other than that it works well. The other big problem is the stainless steel doors. I only clean them with stainless steel cleaner. But about a month into having it, it began to rust.

I called Frigidaire to see what they could do about this. They asked if I lived close to water. It's a refrigerator. It's going to be near water, I said. They said there was nothing they could do. I'm not at all happy. I will not buy Frigidaire products anymore. Mainly due to the fact that they did nothing to rectify the situation.

Frigidaire Gallery was delivered Feb 2012. Upon installation, a water hose broke. The delivery man from Sears called the company & asked me if I wanted a new hose or new refrigerator. For obvious reasons, I kept the broken one until new fridge arrived one week later. Now 2 years later, the fridge temp goes up to 57 & freezer 13 degrees. After reading the manual, my husband tried unplugging & reset the controls. Called repairman to come out July 4th weekend & told it needs a new motor. One was ordered & to be installed the following Monday.

I threw all food out & Monday morning it was working - both fridge at 37 degrees & freezer at 0. Called repairman & he said to use it since it was working. He wasn't going to put a new motor in a 2-yr-old appliance if it is now working, but to call if it stopped cooling again. Two weeks later, it stopped again. Fridge up to 57 & freezer at 10. Repairman coming tomorrow with NEW motor. There is only myself & my husband so this appliance doesn't get used that hard. I'm so disappointed after paying over $2,000 for a new fridge to be putting all this money into it.

He didn't have a good explanation, but he replaced the evaporator motor and blade assembly in an attempt to help. It did not. The refrigerator has consistently made the knocking noise. Recently the noises got worse and finally the fridge has died altogether. I always owned Frigidaire refrigerators so it came as no surprise when I remodeled my kitchen, I would purchase a modern Frigidaire to replace a perfectly good (albeit outdated) Frigidaire. The Model 253FGHF2378ME was a side by side refrigerator with a freezer at the bottom and an automatic water/ice/crushed-ice dispenser on the front door.

Within 2 years the crushed ice dispenser started to expel styrofoam along with crushed ice, and shortly thereafter, a large chunk of plastic after which it no longer produced crushed ice at all. Also within the same 2 years, the ice dispenser would just strain sometimes. One day after filling three glasses with cube ice, the refrigerator simply stopped and there was a code "SY-CF" flashing on the display at the front door. I looked that up and it stands for System Communications Failure. It seemed that the straining ice motor blew out the motherboard.

So I called for service and here's the killer, NO ONE - and I mean NO ONE was available for several days. All the food in the refrigerator went bad and neither Frigidaire nor Sears puts any priority on a refrigerator failure. That means that the 2-YEAR OLD, $2,800.00 refrigerator not only spoiled about $400.00 worth of food, but is going to cost a minimum of $400.00 to fix.

I'm not some angry soul that will tell anyone not to ever buy a Frigidaire appliance, or to buy anything from Sears, that is up to you to decide. I sure won't though.

Less than 1 year after purchase of refrigerator we heard a sizzling noise and found a lot of water under the crispers. Repairman came and told us the water drain was plugged. I asked why. He said that with a refrigerator only that small particles of food get in the drain and plug it. He described it just like a sink but that you cannot put anything but water down the fridge drain and water won't unplug it. He pulled out what looked like a large bug from the water line. I asked if it could be prevented and he said no.

Then I asked if it would happen again and he said probably. Why does this happen and his answer was that with a freezer the small particles of food are killed because of the low temp and will go through the drain, but they are not killed with all refrigerators so accumulate and plug the drain. Because of the water not draining we also have water on our hardwood floor that has rotted the floor. Repairman said to call Frigidaire about our floor. I cannot recommend this refrigerator. I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator in Nov 2011 and the water filter needed to be changed so I ordered one and it was fine. Almost a year later, it needed to be replaced and I ordered one and it was fine. Again, it needed to be replaced and I ordered one but this time it did not fit. I could put the filter in but it would not snap in place. I contacted Frigidaire and they sent me the same filter and it did not fit. So... now, here it is, a year later from the first service call, and I still don't have a filter. It appears Frigidaire changed the bracket on the housing for the filter and my refrigerator needs to be corrected, but at my cost they said.

So, I ask you out there, is anyone else having this problem? It appears Frigidaire changes their parts and then makes the consumer pay for correcting the appliance to fit their newly designed parts. This seems unethical and it gives Frigidaire incentive to continually change their parts. In conclusion, I have not replaced the filter in over a year and I refuse to pay for a situation that Frigidaire created in the first place. Does anyone out there have advice for me? I'm really frustrated and have all Frigidaire appliances. This sickens me if this is their solution to problems.

I bought a Frigidaire model LGHT2137NF refrigerator in September of 2013. In just a few days, it began forming icicles just inside the freezer door. I would clean them off but new icicles would start forming, measuring about an inch in 7 to 10 days. Frigidaire's repair service determined the freezer door seal needed to be replaced. It took 5 appointments, 3 months and 3 days for them to replace the seal. By then, it was winter and the humidity was low, so there was only light frosting just inside the door. Once the weather turned warm and humid, the icicles started forming again. I called Frigidaire to see if anything could be done.

I never could actually speak to a human being. I did a search on their website and apparently so many people are having the same problem that Frigidaire has decided to "spin" the ice build up problem as operator error stating that ice in the freezer is because the "door has been opened frequently or for too long." It's funny that none of my previous refrigerators over the past 35 years has ever had this problem. But now that I own a Frigidaire, it's suddenly "operator error?" I think my only error was buying a Frigidaire refrigerator in the first place.

The refrigerator ice maker stopped working in December 2013, just after the warranty period expired. Everything possible rusted including the auger twister and several of the screws. The paint (?) or whatever peeled off of the cabinet walls and they even rusted. To Frigidaire's credit, they replaced the unit with a brand new one, even replaced the light assembly with a new revised one because the original burned or melted holes in the ceiling of the fresh food area. That unit worked approx. two weeks and stopped working, would not fill with water.

The tech got it working again but today after another 2-3 weeks it had stopped making ice again. Frigidaire will give me 50% discount on any required parts. Big deal, I paid around $2,800 for the refrigerator and have to pay for service call and 50% of replacement parts to fix crap that they have sent me to replace the original crap that they sold me.
