Look for a different brand. I purchased this freezer October 15, 2017, from Home Depot., as a storage freezer to supplement our kitchen unit. It failed Labor Day, Sept. 3, 2018. I lost everything in the freezer, including a half beef from a local farm, around $800.00 worth of frozen goods. Things break, I understand, so I really do not want to trash the product too bad, as the defective $28.00 imported cheap thermostat is in almost all brands. The REAL problem was with Frigidaire. 1.5 months to fix it. As they rely on local repair people (who in my area are hard to find and very busy) I understand it can take some time. I called and spoke with customer service at Frigidaire five different times and suggested it would be easier to send a replacement freezer as time clicked away without use of this unit. They would not even consider it as it was “repairable”.

Each time I called, they tried to sell me an extended warranty, without fail. At one point I was “offered” a “discounted” 12-month warranty reduced from $38 dollars to $34 dollars. My response was after being over a month without a freezer (up to this point) would it not seem like good business to at least offer some goodwill? I told them that the cost of the warranty was not the issue, really, for the price of a bottle of wine and a block of cheese, it was about stepping up to the plate and keeping a customer. Nope. No way were they willing to do that! So here is what I learned. Frigidaire is in the extended warranty business first and foremost. They lack even the simplest software technology to follow up with warranty repair claims with their customers to see if a repair is progressing or completed, or with their subcontractors (gosh, imagine calling a customer to find out if their appliance has been fixed or what the status was)!

Apparently, they do have software that lets them know when your warranty expires so they can contact you about extended warranty options though. All customer Reps at the call center read from the same script and are helpless beyond that. People I spoke with always were nice and I made sure I kept it professional (they are just folks with hands tied). Purchase from a company that has a sense of what customer service means. In the end all Frigidaire had to do for me was at the very least follow up and appear like they were interested in solving the issue with the freezer, and not try to keep selling me warranties while it was still broken. The very next day after the repair was completed, arriving in the mail, was an “offer” to purchase a 3-year warranty for $160.00. No thanks.

We bought a brand new home in Aug, our refrigerator worked 2 weeks, I have been in contact with Frigidaire (Electrolux) 12 times, this by far the worst experience with appliances I have ever had. They will not replace your appliance when broken, you have to go through along tedious process of wasting your time to find out that you are only covered for part repair until they seen your appliance non-functioning, after you have to wait for upper management to give ok for replacement. This took a week. I have been out down for product replacement a week ago. Still have no refrigerator, called today to find out another third party would be contacting me for delivery. I asked for their number and was given the wrong phone number. I've been without a refrigerator for 10 weeks, missed work for repair to come 3x and I have two small children. DO NOT BUT ANY PRODUCTS FOR THESE MANUFACTURERS, THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY.

This is by far the worst company to deal with. And you cant talk to anyone other than the customer service people. All phone numbers route back to them. I never got callbacks but one time in the 6 months this has been going on. I have a warranty thru the purchase of our house we purchased thru Allen Homes for a double wide modular house. Their warehouse orders thru Frigidaire. The freezer, and fridge went out in June 21, 2018 and it takes 2-3 weeks to get a service person out that all goes thru Frigidaire. The fridge was deemed non-fixable in Oct 3, 2018 after they came out 3 times before, to fix what couldn't be fixed. We are still waiting on an ok to get a new fridge since this is not a year old yet. Still no calls back from Frigidaire people, and were in Nov 7, 2018. Beyond unreal. Not saying Frigidaire is a bad product, but we got a lemon for sure on this one. So where is the customer service help?

We received this fridge when purchasing a house with new appliances. After having moved in we found the fridge was not working on "day 1". It was a new fridge never used but because the process of purchasing and moving in was so long it could not be returned to the store. We called Frigidaire about how the fridge was not cooling and was new. It was under warranty and they said they'd have it repaired. I argued for a new fridge as no one would want to repair a new fridge right away. They would not replace it and forced us to have it repaired.

Fast forward and the fridge is not even 4 years old yet and starts having the SAME PROBLEM. It's now outside warranty and needs its SECOND repair. Called Frigidaire and they said they WOULD NOT cover parts and labor to repair the unit. They try and make ME the bad guy by stating it's outside of warranty so I shouldn't expect it to be repaired even under outstanding circumstances. I've worked with other companies in the past outside of warranty on issues and have been taken care of no problem. They also make me the bad guy for not having purchased an extended warranty. Anyone would expect to NOT need to have a fridge repaired twice in 4 years. In this case the customer is wrong and bad. They do not stand by their products and do not take care of their customers. Stay away from Frigidaire.

We purchased a higher end Frigidaire Professional Series refrigerator freezer. Our first repair was within the first few weeks of ownership. Because of ongoing repairs on this unit, we paid for an expensive extended warranty through Electrolux. This time, our refrigerator went out on Sept 30th. We live in Florida where it is 90 degrees daily. Electrolux told us they ordered the part back on Oct 1st. We were set up for repair on Oct 4th. Every 3 days Electrolux calls us to tell us the "part is on order." It is now Oct 27th. Nearly 4 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. Just received another call saying the part should now be shipped Oct 29th. I suspect that we will get another call on Oct 29th telling us that the part is ONCE AGAIN back ordered.

The only people we can speak with are call center staff. I have been unable to find a way to speak with anyone outside of the call center. They don't care. More than a month with excuse after excuse after excuse. We were also told on Oct 2nd "if we can't get the part in a timely manner, we will replace the refrigerator." I think a month is no longer "in a timely manner," however, Electrolux will not tell us how long we do have to wait. We paid a lot of money for a warranty that seems to be absolutely worthless. I would not EVER recommend buying anything from Electrolux/Frigidaire. Their appliances break frequently and there is NO real customer service. More than 4 weeks without a refrigerator and the best Electrolux will do is tell us that they will call with an update next week.

Our refrigerator came with our new home purchase. We are two years in. Any Frigidaire item we have including our stove and oven is bad craftsmanship’s. The fridge has cracking inside now against the back wall. As well we have cracking on the left side. The ice machine, always makes an odd noise, kind of like an old fashioned popcorn machine. The oven which this is not about is scratched, the black top had to be cleaned everyday and now has stains in it. I get we use it, however, all my neighbors having Frigidaire units have same issues. Overall, the products they make are of poor quality and the warranty a joke. Never again buying anything they make.

Purchased the entire Professional series of appliances, refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. Within first year, the freezer started making a loud buzzing noise. Called for warranty repairs and it was taken care of, we thought. A year later, the same problem. This one was now on us for repairs, so we had it done by a service company we had known and used in the past.

When they arrived, the tech said "Oh no, they have had many problems with this model. There was a lawsuit and settlement. Bad design." We had it repaired ($259.00) and called Frigidaire as suggested by the repair tech. Have had nothing but a runaround. Told it was our own fault because we had not purchased an extended warranty. It's now one month later, and we have the same problem again. Don't see the purpose of purchasing an extended warranty to pay the people that didn't make it right in the first place. This used to be a quality company that stood behind their products. That is no longer the case. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND.

I just would like to share my bad experience of Frigidaire refrigerator model FFTR 1821TW and in dealing with its services. We bought the new fridge from Home Depot for our tenant and was delivered on August 10, 2018. Perhaps just was our bad luck or inferior quality, after one month use, the new fridge suddenly failed to cool down. Our tenant complained to us that entirely load of food was spoiled and had to be thrown away. But we didn't know to get it fixed was nightmare! After several calls to the service, we got our first appointment on September 25. The technician come down to inspect the problem. He identified that fan in the fridge failed to work properly and told us that he needed to order the new part and come back again.

We waited for one week, finally came to the appointment date on October 5. Our tenant took leave and waited at home, but nobody showed up. We called the customer service, the representative told us the technician had come and there was nobody at home. This was not true, our tenant was at home and waited for entire morning! Given the my tenant difficult situation without fridge, we had asked if it would be possible to have appointment earlier and got negative response. After several back and forth negotiations, we finally got an appointment on October 11 between 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

My tenant took leave again and waited, but nobody showed up again. We called the customer service to complain but were told the technician would be late. Nobody called us for this delay. Now the tenant asked us to reimburse their food cost and tension between my tenant and us! Imagine what a big mess for our tenant living without refrigerator for more than 2 weeks and our frustration, troubles and difficulties dealing with customer services for repair. Thanks God we finally got it fixed today but we did know how long it will last.

After saving my money for a long time, I purchased an 18 cubic foot refrigerator at Lowe's in April, 2018. The day I got it I heard popping noises coming from the freezer unit. I notified Lowe's and they referred me to Frigidaire. My nightmare had just begun. They have sent 3 different service companies out to my house over the past 6 months. All say the popping noises are normal. I have stacks of papers detailing my phone calls to Frigidaire. All of them stressful, frustrating and never leading to a resolution.

I told them I wanted them to come get the refrigerator and give me my money back. So far they have not. I am unable to sleep at night because the popping noises wake me up. My old 18 cubic foot Frigidaire refrigerator never made a noise or bothered me in the fifteen years I had it. I am so sorry I thought I needed to get a new one. They are not making this unit the same as they used to. It is not the same product anymore. I wish I would have known that before I made my purchase. Disclosure is needed to protect the consumer. Put a sign on the unit in the store stating "This unit makes excessive noise and may keep you awake at night." I will never buy another Frigidaire product because they do not care about me as a customer. They have put me through one of the most traumatic experiences of my life.

Upon our return and plugging it in, the freezer worked fine, but the refrigerator did not function properly. Of course we didn't find this out until the salmon I purchased two days earlier began to reek. Come to find out that the blower fan motor went out... $300! And of course our 2 yr old refrigerator had a 1 yr warranty. There is no excuse for a major appliance not to last 5 yr or longer without major issues. I've never left a review in my life and am in complete disbelief at the lack of caring and 0 help. The only way you can get help is if you take a Certified Frigidaire course so that when you have a problem (and I guarantee that if you buy a Frigidaire you will) the certified technician calls the helpline. Technician give Frigidaire his Certified #.

A Tech at Frigidaire will tell the tech you are paying what to do and what to replace. A complete scam. A rip off. Corporate Greed at its best. NONE of the information you need to do it yourself is made available online. Frigidaire will ONLY give the certified Frigidaire tech another technician. (If it's a compressor issue you need to legally be a Certified A/C guy). Any other problem with the fridge you can legally do yourself, but Frigidaire deliberately prevents it for no other reason than a money grab. On the first occasion, I email the President/CEO in Switzerland. I never even received a reply. This time, I emailed the President/CEO in North Carolina. His secretary called me to say they will not provide funding for the cost of lost food items. But this lump of crap made noises from day one and the Frigidaire contracted service guy says it’s not out of the ordinary and will probably go away... Nice... Then in the back of the fridge part under the pullout drawer, ice started to build up. I broke the ice away, melted and did this a few times.

So what is happening is that the ice maker is leaking in the back and the vent from the freezer is freezing the water and building up in the vent. They came out again, looked and it and said that they would have to charge us because it was out of warranty. They then offered to give us 25% of a new one, then I complained about that and they went up to 50% off. They said that they would send out a letter for this "wonder" deal that they were giving us. Never received the letter. The ice maker has not been working properly from day one and their customer care sucks. I would not recommend these products to anyone. It is a brand marketed by the European Company Electrolux and made in Mexico. In July the notification light "Order Filter" illuminated. I called Frigidaire directly, ordered the new part, and after waiting nearly three weeks, they sent me the wrong filter. They had the correct model and serial number, so how was this possible. After more research on their website, I found out the correct filter was no longer available. I called Frigidaire again and was told they were over four months back ordered and were no longer accepting orders for the filter. I was told I could purchase it elsewhere. The part available elsewhere is an aftermarket part that (according to online reviews) fits poorly and leaks.

The Company we bought the park model from came out mid May to say they could not fix it. The problem was within the refrigerant system and we needed to call FRIGIDAIRE to have a certified tech confirm it was unrepairable. Frigidaire gave me two options. One could not come out for three weeks, I went with Ashworth. They refused to come out if a work order was not generated by Frigidaire. After many calls I did a conference call so both parties could Duke it out. I also extended the warranty by 2 more years.

Frigidaire finally generated a work order. Two services calls later the two tech soldered a area where it was leaking. It was fixed until 4 weeks later. Everything in both the freezer and fridge was warm. The fridge was not working again. New refrigerant lasted 2 days. I still do not have a working refrigerator after 6 separate services calls. Frigidaire will not agree that it's unrepairable. They keep changing out other parts, compressor, evaporator and I'm now waiting for a filter dryer part. Frigidaire claims they only see one service call not 5, from late May up to last week. Their policy is they have to attempt to fix the problem 3 times before they replace the product.

It is August 8th 2018. Waiting for 6th service call to replace a filter dryer, if that doesn't work the Tech will call Frigidaire to see if there is another part or if they will finally say it's unrepairable. At this point they have spent more than it would cost to replace this lemon. I spoke to the company we bought the park model from to share this story, He is taking it to the Rep that oversees the manufacturing of the park models. I also spoke to the owner of Ashworth Appliance. I hope they can help. My voice is getting nowhere, I believe they hope I give up and buy a new refrigerator, I will not.

We purchased Frigidaire model FFHS2622MSU with manufacture date of 4/14 in the summer of 2014. First, ice maker didn’t work. It was under warranty. Repair person said it was a common problem with this model and replaced the ice unit. Next, after about 2-3 years of light use in our second home, cracks began developing all throughout the white fridge interior. Around drawers, on back, at bottom, and around side walls. Multiple cracks are opening up as holes, several appearing as cracks that undoubtedly will be opening up soon.

Called company and also talked to corporate. Of no assistance. Only suggestion was that I invest another $100 in an authorized repair person to evaluate, and they may or may not do anything about it. Obviously this is a nonrepairable problem and is a defective product that should be recalled. Other complaints online about same issue. Already spent $1500 on a fridge that had only been used for 3 years and don’t want to throw good money after bad when company is obviously not interested in standing by a clearly defective product. Afraid to continue using this product to keep food cold for my kids, as with these gaping holes in the insulation walls, can’t ensure it’s properly keeping perishable food at a consistent temperature.

I ordered a Frigidaire refrigerator through Home Depot to be delivered to my house. The model I ordered FFTR1814TB was so noisy upon being plugged in. Dinner conversation would be a problem. And the refrigerator keeps making these loud knocking sounds. The earliest Frigidaire could send someone out to check the refrigerator was more than a week out - and it meant I had to take time off work (again!) to meet the appliance repair person. The customer service representative said that it wasn't good business sense to plug a refrigerator in before it left the factory; it would take too much time. Obviously, my time isn't important to the company; nor apparently is it the company's concern that they produce a quality product.

I bought a new Frigidaire a few years ago and have had nothing but problems with it from day 1. Upon installation the tray under the water dispenser falls out continuously. I had the service tech out and he said just glue it in place. If you do that then there is no way to service the unit later as the screws are behind this tray. Next problem is the ice maker freezes up, again the tech said raise the freezer temp. It is set in the middle setting from the factory and didn't start this until 2 years old. The problem seems to be with the defrost unit in the ice maker not heating enough to let the unit turn loose of the ice cubes. Again NOT MY FAULT!

The latest issue is the water line is freezing in the door where the water dispenser is located. After calling the service tech again, the problem is the lack of proper insulation in the door to protect the water line from freezing. I am tired of spending money on this useless piece of junk from GE. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE A GE PRODUCT. I will review the other useless GE appliances bought at the same time to remodel my kitchen in another post.

They said it would take 3-4 hrs. to repair but did not want to do the repair because they would not get paid enough on warranty work. Called Frigidaire and they said they would have to send another service co. out. The problem is that they only have one authorized repair co. in the Cincinnati area! The service company closed the case until they agreed to pay them more $. I ask why they just did not replace the appliance since it was brand new. Frigidaire said they had to try and repair first. This means no matter how long and how many visits.

Now they want to add tubes on the back of the appliance which will make it stick out 3-4" from the wall. Explained to Frigidaire that this would not work because we bought this size because of the space allowance. Now we will not be able to open doors completely but they said that was not their problem. Do not buy from Frigidaire who is owned by Electrolux. We even have an extended warranty that says they will replace the appliance. They have no concern for their customers. Read all the complaints. The service company wants us to wait 1 1/2 weeks so they do not miss out on other warranty work that takes less time. That would be over two weeks without a refrigerator.

I have called Frigidaire several times due to a problem with the ice and water dispenser, they gave me suggestions over the phone seemed to work for a week or two then the problem would start again. I decided to call a local appliance repair service to check the problem. The repairman pulled the refrigerator away from the wall and was dismayed when he saw the back panel it had rusted through the back wall of the refrigerator about 18 inches long. The problem was the waterline broke inside the back of the refrigerator it seemed months ago. The refrigerator is not 4 years old.

I called Frigidaire for assistance on parts and labor to have the refrigerator repaired. FRIGIDAIRE ADVISED ME SINCE I LIVE IN SC THEY DO NOT COVER RUST in high humidity areas, as I explained to the Frigidaire representative it did not rust from humidity since my house has central air. The back of the their refrigerator rust through because the waterline broke. Their refrigerator was defective. Since Frigidaire will not cover rust in high humidity areas why do they sell their appliance in the southern states???? I find this to be a stupid remark and just a way out not to cover their inferior product. In reading other reviews this has happened to other consumers.

Each visit has been to fix the same problem. Ice collects in the back of the fridge in multiple areas and then also freezes everything in the lower drawer. They have come and replaced at least 5 parts, some twice and yet nothing seems to work.

In addition, parts are not in stock and hence take at least 5-10 days to receive and they will not schedule your appt until the parts are in. I have asked Customer service to admit this is a faulty fridge and replace it or refund me the price I paid, as it should never take 8 attempts (each with a 5hr window) to fix anything. Their response is, "the warranty is to fix it- not to replace it." Terrible customer service - terrible product. So disappointing especially because I love the look and the features it offers. That meant calling Frigidaire then hanging up so they could CD all serviceman who would then call them back and then Frigidaire would call us to tell us what day serviceman would be there. We had no way in time or day. None were in our area so took longer for Frigidaire to find someone. Over a week before Frigidaire finally found someone and then another week for them to come look at it. We had to keep calling for anything to get done. After multiple visits by different servicemen it was finally decided that ice machine was the problem. The store where we bought it ended up replacing the fridge. Frigidaire did NOTHING!!!

1 year later with exact same fridge and it happened again. Was told that it is common problem. Serviceman suggested putting fan in front of refrigerator to see if that helped. Once again our Lowe's store replaced it. Within 1 week of another full year and guess what??? Yep, came in from work and water all over the floor. Our Frigidaire freezer/refrigerator has stopped again! How do they stay in business??? I would not recommend and I have told family and friends to NEVER buy Frigidaire products. No customer support. Talk to someone different every time even for the same issue so you are always starting over when dealing with them. You can not call local repairmen because Frigidaire MUST arrange everything. When asked about replacement, I was told that only Electrolux can make that decision after four repairs of the SAME break. I was also informed that the parts were on back order.

After a couple of weeks that repair was made but was followed by a broken door. Apparently, the frame to the right door had been bent during manufacture. Again, still, refused to replace the item and again waiting for a back ordered part. The appliance company takes great delight in my frustration as they make money as the item is 'repaired'. Warning! I bought this in 2013. Even before the original warranty expired, it was making strange noises...like a fan was hitting ice. After just a year when the warranty expired, it broke down. I had an extended warranty and since then I've had repairmen come to check its issues three times already. Always ice issues happening...it would defrost properly. Ice would collect at the back inside the machine...you couldn't even move the switch. Then cold air would stop circulating to the refrigerator section. Very disappointed with the brand.

I've had cheaper brands in apartments I've rented which lasted longer and they weren't new! They responded to a bad review by asking me to call their warranty center. But when I called they were just unsympathetic and unapologetic. They even cancelled my warranty because now they said I had preexisting conditions...but it's happened repeatedly over 5 years. So I'm stuck with their junk. Their Policy is not to replace the unit until several trials of changing the same part. But their quality is just inferior. You'd have to tolerate it for years and pay the extended warranty for so long. A really bad Choice and brand!!!

Our fridge sat in the warehouse for almost a year while my husband finished building the kitchen. The fridge (Frigidaire Fr. door, bottom freezer 25.8Ft, model FGUN2642LF) cost us $1700 then.

We live in northwest Indiana. We purchased this Frigidaire Gallery side-by-side refrigerator/freezer (FGHS1PF4A) around Nov. 15, 2015. Since purchasing it, we have had problems with the refrigerator and freezer going down in temperature and up in temperature several times, sometimes multiple times per week. Most of the time it goes down in temperature which is better than up. :) I know there is a control function telling the compressor to either not turn on or not turn off. We have had technicians out 3 times and tomorrow will be # 4. I have had to call several times to report a problem.

I have received some assistance with ideas over the phone during the first year. When the temperature drops to -14 or -15 in the freezer, the refrigerator side is close to 32 to 34. When the freezer rises in temperature to 24 or higher, the refrigerator measures at 48 or higher. I know this to be true because I place a thermometer inside both units. The temperature on the thermometer is always within 4 degrees of the displayed temp. The operator board on the front has been changed 2 times and the main control board located on the bottom has been changed once. One tech told me that this happens to some Frigidaire and Samsung units quite often. She said turning it off from the front panel for 20 to 30 minutes should solve the problem. If not, I have found I have to actually pull the unit away from the wall to unplug it. Letting it stay unplugged for 10 to 15 seconds has cleared the problem and allowed the unit to function properly.

I am a retired instrument tech from the Navy and a steel mill so the context of the problem I am familiar with. I just have never worked on refrigerator/freezers. I am familiar with temperature control systems though. This is an intermittent problem which can be an issue if we are ever gone for a length of time. I hope this helps some of you if you are having issues with your units. I intend to talk to the store I purchased this from to perhaps get a replacement. The technicians usually say now that unless they see the problem they can not do anything about it. I have a power surge protector plugged into the outlet and have had it since the unit was installed so any surges occurring should be covered. Needless to say like one consumer said, it is a good idea to purchase the extended warranties on refrigerators.

We've lost food, we've been without an ice maker many, many times, and now we have mold on the wall behind the machine. The mold is the result of the ice maker leaking water in the back of the refrigerator. It has rusted through and caused mold to form on the drywall behind. Frigidaire is paying for the mold remediation that is now required but I'm sure that's in order to avoid a lawsuit. Their most recent "fix" is to apply a two inch thick foam pad to the back of the machine to hide the problem and as a result the refrigerator sticks out past the cabinet in a way that is unacceptable. I went back to PC Richard November 2016 and purchased a Frigidaire 11.6 Cubic Ft FFTRT222QW Refrigerator. I took a two year extended insurance with PC Richard and have since had the Frigidaire for a year and a half. The appliance made some noises for two days and then just died-stopped working.

My husband and I work 9-10 hours a day and do not have children who would be opening and closing the fridge all day long. This appliance was no overused or abused. I take very good care of my appliances. I have $150 worth of spoiled food which Frigidaire will not reimburse, nor PC Richard's extended insurance does not cover either. NOT Acceptable. A good reliable appliance should not have any issues under two years old if it's well maintained. So I put in a complaint to the BBB. My two year insurance with PC Richard expired in Feb 2018- which I am angry with them also, they send me all kinds of emails to spend on my PC Richard credit card and notify me of sales, yet they never sent me a renewal notice to renew my insurance. (I am a licensed Insurance Agent, so this is unacceptable to me.)

Then they offered me 40% off on a Manufacturers rebate to purchase another Frigidaire Refrigerator. I replied that I do not want another Frigidaire - then send me the 40% in a refund check. They refused to do this also. I would never purchase another Frigidaire again. They wrote back to me and stated they will not send me a 40% refund as in the year and a half I had this appliance, there were no service calls or complaints. I said, "Well there weren't any as the appliance was working fine until two weeks ago." And I said to them - they think so low of their own product that they ARE EXPECTING service calls and complaints in under two years of the consumer owning the product?? That is sad and pathetic.

They should think more of building a stronger product and not make them so cheap, I'm not made of money where I'm going to go out and buy a new refrigerator every year or two years!! I am disgusted and disappointed in this whole situation. They do not even stand by their own product, they are expecting service calls and complaints in so little time of the consumer owning the product.

On 10/10/17, it stopped cooling and the repair company said they had to replace the compressor and replace the evaporator kit. On 4/6/18, it stopped cooling again and the repairman had to replace the air handler and replace the fan and gasket. On 5/25/18, I had to have the repairman return. He said the evaporator kit had to be replaced again and he said he needed to seal the system.

My refrigerator temperature is 58 degrees, which means my family has to eat out because I purchased a refrigerator that does not keep food cold. Lowe's is where I purchased the refrigerator and they said they are not responsible. So I contacted the Better Business Bureau. I am upset, because it's not right for a consumer to in good faith purchase an appliance and it does not work. I am left with a refrigerator that serves no purpose plus it's still within a year and I am out of the cost of a refrigerator. Now I have to purchase a new refrigerator. I am not being compensated for buying a faulty appliance by Frigidaire.

The fridge makes a high pitched ringing noise, never stops running, makes chirps, grinding, whining sounds. So loud we can not even sit in the new kitchen! Really? That's normal sounds! Really? The dishwasher will run for 3 hours! Only after 6 washes started to drop black hard rubber parts under the door! What's that? Oh it's the sound barrier material falling out! Really? The stove arrived with a big chip inside the door so that's going back too! Wasted my time and money! Never, Never again Frigidaire! I will never recommend Frigidaire to anyone! Purchased brand new French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot just 6 weeks ago. Stopped working about 2 weeks ago and of course we do not have a replacement fridge, and do not know when. We have lost over $200 in food, as well as medicine. Frigidaire do not care, customer service is a joke, they are perfectly happy to have a family of 4, two babies, live without a fridge for at least 3 weeks. Took them days to arrange technician to come out, them a week to get replacements parts. The parts didn't work, technician told them fridge need to be replaced. Now it has to go to back office for review, which take 2 days at least. Then IF they agree to replacement I have no idea how long that will take as they won't tell me. I have never experience worse customer service in my life, and how they expect anyone to purchase their products again is beyond me.

I wasn't able to get a repairman in until May 7 (five days later) and am told that it needs a new part that must be ordered. I am also told that the part won't be here for a week. I called Frigidaire and asked what I should do without a refrigerator for almost two weeks. The response was "get some coolers." They will not replace the refrigerator, although it is less than eight months old unless it is irreparable. The repair service said Frigidaire has a "no overnighting" policy when it comes to sending replacement parts. This is unacceptable! Stay away from this model refrigerator and stay away from Frigidaire. They do not look out for the customer.

I bought a brand new Frigidaire side by side refrigerator in Oct of 2016 and paid full retail, around $1,000. Since day one it has been junk. It kicks on every 10 to 15 minutes and makes a popping sound that can heard through the whole house. I contacted Frigidaire and they said that it was a normal noise. There is nothing normal about it. I then contacted a certified service retailer listed on the Frigidaire website. He notified me that there was a warranty fix for the problem, (a problem Frigidaire denies). I submitted my claim to the repairman but never received the repair.

Every time I called it was like calling for the first time. They didn't remember me, my problem, or my claim. I'm not sure which is worse here, Frigidaire, their junk products, or the businesses they recommend for service. Don’t buy - if it goes wrong they prioritize cost over safety! We live in a rented apartment. The landlord bought a Frigidaire fridge with a top freezer for us 3 months ago. Five weeks ago, the freezer door did not appear to work and the fridge was buzzing. We called Frigidaire and they sent an engineer three days later. My husband works from home, so we worked around their schedule.

The engineer replaced a part. One week later we called Frigidaire back, as the freezer was defrosted. They sent another engineer a week later. This engineer said that another part needed replacing. This part took 2 weeks to arrive. At this point, having bought a fridge 3 months previously, it had worked only for 2 months and then been broken for 4 weeks. Our landlord had to buy us a mini fridge as we had nowhere to store fresh food, milk, etc.

Then the first engineer was sent back in. He did not have the correct parts and worked from 5 pm until 9:30 pm soldering new tubing to the back of the fridge. Two days later, I smelled burning in our apartment late at night. It was the fridge. I unplugged it but now am very angry, rather than just inconvenienced. If I hadn’t noticed, I don’t know what would have happened. 6 people live in the apartment block and this could have horrible. Frigidaire has still not replaced the fridge but at this point I’ll pay to remove it and buy a new, safe fridge.

I have been having problems since March with my refrigerator (FFHS2311LBSA) that I bought in July 2017 which started making a loud banging noise. When I first called and emailed they said, "Oh that's normal" without even hearing it or sending anyone out. When the serviceman came out he even said all 5 times he had no idea what was wrong. I have had to take off work 5 times now because they will not put it up for review for replacement. I have had A-1 Appliance at my home on March 14th, 20th, April 9th, 13th and upcoming April 20th.

This is beyond ridiculous and I feel they are giving me the runaround on this. How would you like to have a refrigerator who every serviceman says they have no idea how to fix and no one will replace it? One customer service rep said well the warranty is out in June so are they trying to give me the run around until June? It has gotten louder and the only response the customer service team can come up with is oh well they didn’t do this or call this guy or blah blah blah. I have seen reviews online about Frigidaire and how disappointed customers are with the same product. I wish I would have known before I bought it. All we want is someone to make the decision that should have been made long ago to replace the defective item.

I purchased this new type stainless steel french door refrigerator as a birthday gift to myself - much to my chagrin. First complaint was a loud noise, followed by a loose freezer handle. They were fixed by a repairman sent by Gill's in Bristol RI, obviously not happy with my early complaints. So when I noticed a large gash in the 'floor' of the refrigerator, I assumed it was caused by my partner, despite his denials. Soon after - this is within the first year - more cracks, dents, or what he describes as possible 'stress fractures' occurred.

Then I 'caused' a crack in the front one of the drawers while cleaning it, even though I can't figure out how I put it in the sink and picked it up with a crack, one which grows larger and makes it difficult to open the drawer now. A similar crack appeared in the bottom drawer - not being washed. Frigidaire will do nothing, and accepts all this as apparently 'pro forma' problems. Now the freezer handle is loose again (third time we attack it with the trusty allen wrench). And this was my gift, to replace a 10 year old unit by LG... Oh, how I regret that! Frigidaire is cheap (at $2000!), customer service is useless... And now I'm stuck.

In addition, the ice control lever is made of cheap plastic and broke within the first year. The ice maker and water supply is the most poorly designed unit. I agree with previous reviewer in that it is impossible to get ice without it falling all over the floor. I had to replace that unit for $270. The ice maker has never provided enough ice and I had to purchase a bag of ice the last time I was at the home. The shelves on the refrigerator door are made of cheap plastic and I had to replace one already. I'm very dissatisfied with Frigidaire and this unit. I will never buy another Frigidaire product.

A number of days later we received a box from Electrolux with a part that we did not order, for a dishwasher. I called the Frigidaire/Electrolux parts department to make sure the original order was still coming and I was assured it was and I should disregard the wrong part I had been sent. I waited the full 10 business days as patiently as possible with no further deliveries. The email I was initially sent for tracking shipping never worked at any time I tried it.

Today, the 10th business day, I called again to ask them to track the shipment for me - they said it was delivered on 3/27, only 4 days after I had been told it was shipped. Which means it was indeed the incorrectly delivered part that they thought was delivered and the previous customer service person had told me the wrong information and wasted my time, our money and has kept my family without filtered water for all this time. I was very angry and told them I needed it shipped to me asap at fast speed.

The CSR I was speaking with said he didn't have authorization to expedite shipping so I asked him to put me on with a manager who could. The manager I spoke with apologized but said she did not have the power to change shipping speed because I had initially paid for regular shipping. What was the point of my speaking with a manager? This was their error - they should have fixed the problem by sending me the correct part at faster speed. I am still very angry.

In the same transaction, we bought the same Frigidaire Gallery Series Gas Range, Microwave & Dishwasher for our new home. The ice maker was not producing ice beyond half full for some time & kept getting slower. We replaced the water filter (2 months earlier than the Frigidaire manual AND the filer manufacturer recommended), and it somewhat improved ice production. However, when we pulled the refrigerator out to check the water lines, we found a 2" diameter rust spot on the exterior of the back metal panel of the refrigerator, 13" down from the rear right corner.

There was no water line connection at the spot or any kind of opening of any kind. There was also white residue from apparent water condensation that had trickled down the metal during evaporation. Note - the interior of our home is never above 72 degrees year round. It was not hot enough to create condensation. Our first call was to ABT Appliances, where we bought the unit. They confirmed that this was a product defect, and that Frigidaire was well aware of this issue.

They said we needed to file the report with Frigidaire directly, but then Frigidaire would contact a local service to come out & address the issue. We called and eventually referred to a local service company, we were told we needed the authorization number from Frigidaire. A second call to Frigidaire was with a rather frigid associate who only kept repeating that we didn't have the extended warranty & the manual states they do not cover rust. Over & over. Unacceptable customer service. Never again will be buy anything even remotely associated with the Frigidaire or Electrolux brands. Zero customer service. I called Electrolux who is the owner of Frigidaire and handles the warranty. They were not helpful and rude. On my six month old refrigerator their repair is to put refrigerator tape over the hole. They say that this is the authorized fix. I requested the refrigerator be replaced to no avail. After numerous calls in attempting to get the refrigerator replaced I was told the only solution I had was to take the tape or to leave it as is. Having no other option but to have the tape put over the hole I asked them if the warranty repair would be warranty for any time and they said that they would give me an a six month additional warranty to re-tape it if the tape came loose.

After going through two or three different repair companies I find out that the refrigerator has to be emptied for 48 hours and be at room temperature before they will repair it. Electrolux claims no responsibility for my food, or even to supply coolers for me to unload my refrigerator. Being disabled it would be very difficult for me to transfer my food to other houses or wherever I can find to put it for 48 hours and I cannot afford to purchase coolers which I asked them to supply. Of course they refused.

The decline in this company is unbelievable to me and I would never purchase another Frigidaire product and suggest you do not either!!! They do not honor their warranty and take no responsibility for the quality of their products. Repairman stated to me that the reason for the crack was Electrolux has stopped putting enough insulation in the walls of the refrigerators and have even taken the water reservoirs that used to be in the walls to keep water cold out. This piece of equipment is garbage and I regret ever purchasing from Frigidaire. I also contacted Sears where I originally purchased it who does not honor their warranty to replace the item. If unsatisfied Sears will also be crossed off my list! I would be interested in a class action lawsuit if others join in!

Frigidaire French - Terrible fridge. 3 years old and the water and ice maker dispenser is the biggest problem. Both units water lines freeze up. Turn the unit off to let thaw out to use again. Ice tray will crack and leak water into the ice bucket causing the ice to cluck together making it too big to dispense. Can't buy just the tray, must buy complete ice maker around $100 if you want to change it on your own. Since the arger can't break the large chunks of ice it will crack the ice bucket. Another $50 just for the bucket. You will have to take the arger and other parts off the old unit and put on the new one.

Did I tell about the extra items you get with your ice. You will find small pieces of plastic and Styrofoam in you ice. Don't have a clue where that's coming from, but you will enjoy the extras. It is just my husband and myself in our house. We take really good care of our stuff. The doors should not scratch this easy. I will not purchase another Frigidaire appliance ever. We just had a technician out to replace an icemaker in a 2 year old Frigidaire refrigerator. The first time they came out was a year after we bought the refrigerator, this was the second time. The tech told us that Frigidaire is aware of the icemaker issues and developed a new replacement but it is at the buyer's expense. Super disappointed in the company if this is their business mentality and will never buy Frigidaire again. Looking at reviews online, sounds like I’m not alone.

Because it was just outside the 30 days from purchase, Lowe's sent a service company to repair rather than replace my defective refrigerator. The service company could not repair because it is a sealed system/compressor issue and recommended I call Frigidaire for warranty repair. Called Frigidaire (it's now over a week with no refrigerator) and was told by the surly customer service representative that a different company will be coming out next week to diagnose the issue, then I have to wait 5-7 days for the parts, another repair date, etc. So, in short, weeks until I have a working refrigerator when it is less than 2 months old!

I had 2 bad experiences, and 2 good experiences! My first phone call: My first phone call to Frigidaire was answered by a totally uncaring woman. I complained of the noise my shiny new fridge was making. (I nicknamed my fridge Darth Vader because that's what it sounds like), and the fact that it would leak all over the floor for no apparent reason. She said, in a very snooty voice, "If you read the owner's manual, it says that!" She had no right to talk to me in that tone of voice. Like I have to right to call her! She sounded illiterate. I did read the owner's manual. It said the refrigerator will make noise. Of course, it will. If it doesn't make any noise, it would be because it isn't running! I'm talking about a very annoying, very unusual noise.

My 2nd phone call: I called back because I could get used to the noise, but not the wet kitchen floor. A different woman told me that "Some leakage is to be expected." Not quite as snooty, but... um... no! Leakage is not expected! My 3rd phone call: Finally, I made an angry call, based on my 2 previous experiences. This lady was friendly, concerned, and helpful! We came to the conclusion that we needed either a new filter or a bypass. If neither of those worked, she would be happy to send out a service rep. By the time I got a new filter installed (my own fault for taking so long), the ice maker had completely stopped working and was flooding the floor worse than ever! The new filter didn't help.

My 4th phone call: I was given a friendly, "How about tomorrow morning", instead of an argument! The service rep was wonderful. He knew the problem immediately. Apparently, the ice-maker has been a problem in the past (as noted in these reviews). He changed it out without hesitation, with a new model designed specifically to alleviate the problems the old ice-maker had. He also recommended leaving the ice-maker turned off (I had turned it off for awhile thinking something needed to be defrosted - I was right, but it still needed to be replaced) until we got a bypass. I had purchased the filter because I couldn't find a bypass anywhere (except online). He ordered one for us, and we got it via UPS in a few days. We now have a steady flow of ice and no leakage. Darth Vader still lives in our house, but we have gotten used to him. If he ever stops gasping for air, we will call again, because he will have died.

Bought Frigidaire Refrigerator, Microwave, Dishwasher thru Clayton Mobile Homes brand new 12/2017. I've actually only lived in the home 10 days. I paid a lot to upgrade from the cheap appliances normally in these homes. Yet all have a shiny cheap looking exteriors that scratch extremely easily. Immediately upon removing the shipping film there were scratches on the exterior refrigerator doors, microwave, and dishwasher. All appliances develop scratches despite very careful minimal use. I don't even cook. Nothing has touched the surfaces except water and clean microfiber cloth per manufactures manual. BUT, if you do touch the exterior surfaces to clean they get scratches. And there are several different types scratches that just appear. They look terrible.

According to Frigidaire website the Refrigerator model FFSS2315TE has an Ultrasoft exterior finish. According to their representative on the phone Ultrasoft (trademark) means "matte" finish. All these appliances have shiny surfaces. I did not get what I paid for. So far Frigidaire is not correcting the problem. I feel all three appliances need to be removed and replaced with the correct models, as shown on the Frigidaire website. No children live in my home. Bought with Oakwood Mobile Home.

I purchased a Kenmore refrigerator manufactured by Frigidaire in 2013. Since the time of purchase I have had the icemaker/water dispenser serviced three times between 2013 and 2016. When I pulled the refrigerator out to inspect it the back had rusted out. The area of rust was approximately a foot wide and four feet long. I contacted Sears and was told I had to contact Frigidaire.

Frigidaire told me just the opposite. After investigating the problem I learned that the rust problem has been known by Frigidaire since 2008 and they have done nothing to correct it. When I got nowhere with either Sears or Frigidaire I contacted the South Carolina Consumer Affairs Division. They made my complaint known to a Sears rep who sent a letter saying there was nothing they could do about it.

When I called and spoke to this rep she was very nasty and told me to go ahead and contact an attorney. Needless to say I am very unhappy with the way I was treated and now have to purchase a new refrigerator which I cannot afford. I am 73 years old and living on a fixed income. I highly recommend that no one purchase a Frigidaire Refrigerator and if you already own one, be sure to pull it out and check the back for rust. Like some of the other complainants, I would be happy to join in on a class action suit if one is brought.

It is so loud that it can not be described as white noise. Neither had been moved from where they were originally placed. The motor stays on longer than when its quiet. I've tried adjusting the temperatures but that has no effect on the noise. It does this even if it hasn't been opened for several days. I will never buy Frigidaire products again. Purchased a new side by side Frigidaire from Best Buy. A few month after delivery the frames for the glass shelves in the bottom of the fridge cracked. They send a replacement. The clamp that held one of the Chelsea broke. They replaced it as well. Then a crack appeared on the lining wall inside the fridge about 4 to 6 inches long. They asked me to send pictures. I did, they were very nice and eventually they replaced it with the same model. After a few months of using the replacement model the same started to happen. This time all the shelves and all the drawers cracked and the crack appeared again in the very same area on the lining as the previous fridge. This time getting bigger and bigger. This time my pictures did not help. They insisted I contacted a service company they recommend. I did. They came. They took pictures. Did not recommend any repairs and left.

After many attempts by email and by phone I was told that I had refused to allow the repairs and therefore denied the replacement of the fridge. They recommended I called in for service (again) to tell them what was wrong and what needed to be done. I argued that I had already called. They had already attended. Why call them again since they would not budge. I contacted the service company and they confirmed they had sent the report to them. I asked them to send it again giving them the email address of the person looking after me (supposedly). I allowed one week to pass and wrote again asking if they had read the report and what was the next step. No answer. I wrote again and again. Finally an answer that I had refused service and would not replace fridge and asking me to contact a different service company although the First one was their first choice.

I argued again that I had never refused any service since mine was offered or proposed that it was clearly a defective fridge having the same issues in the same spots yet they stonewalled me on the basis that someone wrote in my file that I have refused service. It’s been three months. We are still sitting with half a fridge. No drawers. No shelves. Everything piled up. They have the pictures and continue to give me the runaround. I don’t recommend this model to anyone let alone paying for an extended warranty that so far all it does is aggravate us, stonewall us and frustrate us. We see no end to this nightmare. They did not like what the First company told them. I don’t know but why force me to call another one? They were highly recommended. Are they trying to cover it up? Who knows.

Ice maker freezes up consistently due to bad design requiring thawing & replacement of motor. It is a KNOWN flaw by Frigidaire yet they do nothing to remedy it, just temporary repairs until next freeze, dragging it out until warranty expires. We finally had enough, have an extended warranty so all repairs are covered, we are just disgusted with having to have repairs done every few months. We told the service agent that we want the fridge replaced, we were told that Frigidaire would have to do that. Frigidaire now claims it is the responsibility of their dealer, we are caught in the middle of a faulty fridge.

It should not be that a company can sell a product that they KNOW is faulty and not be required to make good on it. Anyone could sell anything, have a warranty, drag out repairs that ALWAYS require parts to be ordered to repair a known defect, run down the warranty period and say… “Too bad.” Their customer care is rude, unresponsive, will put you on hold, or just hang up. If you are lucky enough to get through to corporate, although they are more professional than customer care, they will just regurgitate the same garbage as customer care.

Currently corporate is claiming that we only contacted Frigidaire once regarding the faulty fridge. Even though their records indicate when THEIR dealer has been put repeatedly to make the same repair. Stay far away from this product and company unless you are ok with scheduling a bi-monthly repair schedule on a new appliance that should have an implied warranty of at least a year of no worries or repairs! Can hear this loud, noisy refrigerator even with bedroom door closed. Have called Frigidaire many times, had many techs out, who all say they cannot make the refrigerator more quiet. Frigidaire refers me to page 18 of the owner's manual, which has the nerve to say that a high pitched hum, pulsating sounds, snapping and clicking noises, popping noises, sizzling and hissing noises, gurgling noises and boiling sounds are all NORMAL OPERATING SOUNDS! I'm 63 years old and have never had a loud, very noisy refrigerator before. How can these loud, obnoxious noises be normal? They are not normal. Frigidaire just says they are because they make an inferior product.

Even one of the techs told me they are mass produced and use cheap parts and components, and it is very noisy and if I want a quiet refrigerator, buy an LG or a Kenmore! Another tech told me that if I want a quiet refrigerator, to buy an LG or a Maytag. Also, Frigidaire tells me that at the factory recommended setting, the refrigerator should be 37 degrees F, but it is at 42 degrees at the recommended setting. It doesn't even get to 37 degrees at the maximum coldness setting. When you call Frigidaire, their employees make one excuse after another basically explaining why they cannot help you. They will not replace your refrigerator, even if only 5 months old and under the 1 year warranty. This is a terrible company that makes terrible refrigerators. We bought the refrigerator from Home Depot in late September of 2017. Within two weeks, the freezer started frosting up, and temperature dropped in the refrigerator. Upon examining the freezer drawer I determined that the left side of the drawer was sagging at the front due to the ABS plastic slide mount having broken at the front support pin on the side of the freezer box. I called for warranty repair at the shop recommended on Frigidaire's 800 number. It took five days to get a repairman here. They agreed with my assessment, said they would order the part to be shipped to my house, and come back when it arrived. After a week of waiting, I called back. They had failed to tell me the part was on factory backorder, due Dec. 8th. A call to Frigidaire customer service, escalated to management, got me nowhere. After checking all their warehouses, they told me I could expect the part around ten days after Dec. 8th.

We will be without our freezer for almost 3 months. The only reason the refrigerator works is because I used duct tape to re-attach the slide mount to where the drawer almost seals. It is frosting up rapidly. We had to buy a chest freezer for use in the meantime. Frigidaire has not offered to replace the unit, and now I find on close examination of their limited warranty that labor is not included! We called Lowe's, where we purchased it, and they said replacement was not an option and arranged for a service call. We waited 2 weeks for the technician to make the service call. After the service call, we waited a month for parts and installation. All was OK for a couple more months and they it stopped cooling again. Frigidaire says they have no record of the second service call and 4 service calls are needed on the same problem within thirty days to qualify for "lemon law" replacement. In 5/2017 they were out again because of a noise at the rear of the ice maker when the door was closed. When the door was opened it stopped because the fan stopped. Then the unit froze any item in the refrigerator side that was next to the wall separating the freezer side (liquids, eggs, vegetables, etc.) and I had to move them out/away from the wall separator for them to thaw (or put some of the items outside of the refrigerator).

The construction quality was so poor that the French Doors were not aligned properly and the technician sent by Brandsmart could not correct the matter. He also said that the refrigerator was cooling properly (that was before we discovered the frozen food issue). And finally said that Frigidaires were made by robots and that they were not perfect (I took THAT issue up with Brandsmart). The refrigerator's seals were defective and improperly installed causing cold air to leak out when the doors were closed. Inside, beside the wall separation insulation issue, there were loose screws holding up panels as well as a loose panel that simply clipped onto the walls and could come off easily if an object was placed too close. The panel was not sealed and you could see water lines behind it.

The ice and water dispenser were poorly designed and easily spilled constantly, PLUS the water temperature was never even cool, but at room temperature. FINALLY, the refrigerator was noisy and had various different sounds that it emitted almost all of the time. Frigidaire devoted two pages to "refrigerator noises", so obviously this was a design/function issue that must have been problematic for them and they addressed it in the User/Owner's Manual in order to prepare the customer and let them know this was normal.

They explained that the noises came from a variety of sources inside the unit (and they described about 12 different working parts or areas where one would hear noises). THIS is the NOISIEST REFRIGERATOR that I have ever HAD or HEARD... MORE SO THAN EVEN MY OLDEST ONES DATING BACK 40+ YEARS!!!! To add insult to injury, I contacted Frigidaire on their website and they sent an email reply that I would be contacted by their representative within 48 hours and over a week later I am still waiting for them to call or email me. I will NEVER buy or recommend Frigidaire's refrigerator line to anyone.
