I bought a Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer in 2012. Since then I have had to have the dryer repaired 4 times and it just quit again. I wish I had never bought them.

Our very expensive F&P washer and dryer set, has had serious problems for the last few years. Washing machine can't run a cycle without stopping over and over again and having to reset it. Dryer periodically has to be unplugged just to turn on and it is also making weird squealing sounds and sounding erratic when running. Just to name a few problems. I have tried and tried to contact the company to find someone who can come out to look at, and possibly repair, the machines. But, the company doesn't even reply to my attempts to get in touch with them. Nothing, no reply, no help, no follow up, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. It is pretty ridiculous to have machines that were in the highest price bracket, start failing after only about 5 years. And it is even more ridiculous for a company to not even reply to its customers when they reach out for assistance. Very disappointed.

For 3 months I have been trying to buy a replacement water filter for my fisher & paykel fridge freezer - on line it tells me they are out of stock and to phone. On the phone I get confirmation that they are out of stock and given no confirmed date of availability. I am told to order and I will be emailed when they arrive - but remember they cannot tell me when that will be. Today I have ordered 2 at the whopping cost of £98 but have been warned that there are many orders ahead of mine as there is a huge demand for them and so I will have to wait my turn.
The filter is an integral part of the function of my particular machine - so why is it impossible to pick up the phone or go online and order a filter and get one immediately? How hard can it be to stock enough to meet demand? We are talking about a simple water filter here - nothing more but for reasons best known to themselves - they will not maintain a sufficient quantity for its customers. Do I smell a rat here? Is there an agenda I wonder? Hundreds of customers are having to pay in advance for their expensive water filters to ensure that they receive them in the designated time stipulated by Fisher & Paykel. Frankly had I known I would not have bought from this company and certainly will not again.

5 weeks to replace a thermostat on a new $3000 oven. When raising the issue with F/P customer service I was told by a rather rude person that if the proposed time doesn't suit them Then they would schedule the repair for an even later date. Simply not good enough. Call center staff made it clear they were not interested in dealing with me as an individual just a number. Never again.

Later had another problem with the washer and called a different repairman who told me there was probably no need for the replacement of those parts. The problems this time were due to something getting caught underneath something and was a simple repair for him, at a fraction of the cost for the parts replacements.

Bought a Fisher&Paykel washer and dryer from Lowe's 4-5 years ago - the washer began to stop mid-cycle recently. Would eventually come back on after I stopped and started it again. Now has stopped mid-cycle, water won't drain out and the machine will not even turn on at all. Was told at Lowe's these washer and dryers never have problems! Repairman says water pump and panel need replacing. He also said many folks have had problems with that pump and I should call the manufacturer, perhaps there had been a recall. Called F&P and was met with unconcern. Said they could refer me to a repairman! As for Lowe's, they cannot even find their record of my purchase and I have bought all my major appliances from them! For certain, I will no longer be doing business with Lowe's nor Fisher&Paykel.

Bought a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer less than two years ago. Around the beginning of March there was an error code warning on the machine and it was leaking water onto my hardwood floors. I contacted Fisher and Paykel and was told to work with the one service repair company in Austin Texas. They finally came out on March 9th to look at my machine. The technician told me the symptoms of my machine did not make sense but if he swapped out a few parts it would probably resolve the issue. Finally two weeks later I was told the parts were indefinitely on backorder. At this point I called Fisher and Paykel directly. I was given the royal run around. I contacted the company 12 times over the course of 6 days. Each time I was assured that someone would call me back in the next hour or so. Never got that call.
When I called back in to follow up on the issue, I was told a different story and that it was out of the representatives hands or that they were a New Zealand company and the person in charge was gone for the day. I was told the companies issue was due to the long shoreman's strike and my part would likely arrive in late April. I stressed that the technician was not totally sure the parts would fix my machine, so I was supposed to wait six weeks for parts which may not even get my machine working again.

Can I give 0 stars? I feel I was duped by the sleek look and promised "amazing" performance of this oven (Double Wall Oven WODV30). It is gorgeous, and I fell victim to the wonderfully smooth roll out racks, 12 settings for each oven (top and bottom), and supposed long, worry-free life. I had this oven installed in my newly renovated kitchen in October 2014. It worked super for three months.
I am a light-use household consumer, just a regular mom trying to feed my family of 5; nothing fancy, nothing commercial. It then blew out a circuit board in January 2015. The oven went completely haywire. Okay, maybe a lemon you say? Do you know what then happened with DCS wonderful customer service for my $5000.00 oven? It took them 3 weeks to send out a replacement part.
A new circuit board, which BLEW as soon as the tech (who has much experience w/ DCS and FP) installed it. Then do you know what happened? It took 3 more weeks for me to fight with my appliance company and DCS to get them to acknowledge they did not know what was wrong with my oven, why it originally blew its original circuit board, and why the new circuit board blew immediately. Yes, smoke was coming off the board, and the tech was flabbergasted.
So, yes, dear reader, I was without an oven for SIX WEEKS from January until March. No baking, no roasting, no family dinners, no desserts, NOTHING. It took 3 weeks for my entire kitchen renov in the first place, then 3 months later, SIX WEEKS, no oven. Tsk, tsk DCS!! For a $5000 oven! And to top it off, after my fight to get them to send a new, replacement oven, guess what?
The top door has damage to the metal frame around the glass door; there is permanent marring of the metal and something between the glass. Luckily, this is covered under their 90 day cosmetic warranty. I hope that everyone reading this thinks twice about this product. On another note, my 5 burner cook top from DCS is awesome, but how can you get gas burners wrong, really. STAY AWAY.

Fisher Paykel 30"single wall oven - Purchased new appliances except for a ref about 7 years ago for a Kitchen remodel and used all Fisher and Paykel Appliances. Started having trouble last year w/ our single wall oven. The service technician diagnosed it as the Power Module, a cost of $215.99, only to find out that it was a convection element; so that was an additional $55.00 plus labor. Not to mention it took 6 weeks to get each part so a total of 12 weeks we were without an oven.
This year we recently had issues and it was diagnosed incorrectly once again. Finally, we were told it was the Throat Element and could not be replaced. So after 6 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive we had to eat the part we ordered and the cost of 2 service calls only to find out we would have to purchase a new oven. Called Fisher Paykel and we promptly faxed the info they requested but it took a solid week trying to get **, our assigned go to person, to talk to us. They offered to sell us a new model at a 30% discount but did not offer to reimburse us for the money we had been out on parts and labor. Was very disappointed in the appliance, the time it takes to get parts sent from New Zealand, and the staff at Fisher Paykel. Will never spend another penny with them!!

My F & P dual drawer dishwasher never seems to clean well. The area under the filter/screen is always full of water and F & P says that's normal. The screen itself needs to be rinsed every several of loads as grease seems to build up on the inside. I run DW cleaner every dozen loads or so and it doesn't seem to help. I am very dissatisfied with this product. I got it so my disabled son can easily reach into the top drawer for loading and unloading and it works well for this purpose but it's hardly worth it if the dishes have to be washed by hand after they've been run through the machine.

About a month ago I purchased a double wall oven made by Fisher & Paykel. I was a little worried by the reviews I read, but I know that more people who are unhappy with their purchases tend to write reviews because they want to air their grievance. I love my FP ovens. They work perfectly. They have about 10 different settings depending on the type of food you are cooking. The ovens work perfectly. They hold the correct temperature and everything I have made in them has come out perfectly. I love that the shelves move in and out at the gentlest touch. No struggle to get heavy pans in and out of this oven. The only thing I haven't tried is the cleaning cycle. That was the problem with my Thermador ovens. The high heat of the cleaning cycle burned out the circuit boards---three times. No more Thermador for me. So far I am a happy baker.

Very disappointed and frustrated with this expensive appliance and the service is very difficult to get. Actually, the line I strung up in my basement has been drying my clothes perfectly!

Then last week the washer started malfunctioning and that was the end of Fisher Paykel for me. I agree with those who said they are done with Fisher Paykel... If you want a dependable washer and dryer DO NOT buy FP! Very disappointed!

We spent 3 times as much for a trendy looking SS Double drawer dishwasher. We had the service people out 3 times the first year. He spent hours at a time on the phone to Tech support in New Zealand. Never got the bottom drawer from leaking. Subsequently it would trip a wet switch and would not restart until it completely dried internally. Finally Fisher Paykel offered a brand new later improved model. The catch was we had to pay freight since local distributor quit handling the brand. This cost $395.00 for shipping. Or as much as a mid range Whirlpool.
Didn't fix problem. Further inspection showed it was a burned main circuit board. And now a burned wiring harness. I spoke to customer care about my issues. They have said document and possibly they'll do something? That is still uncertain. I'll repost if something positive comes out.

Whatever you do stay away from DCS. We purchased a DCS 6 burner Range-top, fridge, and wall oven in November 2014. No problem with anything until second batch of Christmas cookies a week before Christmas when the oven temp dropped to 140. Repairman said we needed a micro temp limiter and another limiter. He said he could probably fix it before Christmas if he could get the parts. Having selected DCS because of offices and warehouse in California we thought we were going to be roasting turkey and baking rolls for a big family Christmas dinner... Not exactly.
Sometime last Fall the Fisher and Paykel brain trust closed all their US warehouses and all phone calls for customer service are now routed to New Zealand. The Kiwis working the phones in Wellington are useless. They can tell us they know the parts have been ordered but they don't have them in stock and they cannot tell us when they will be available to ship to the US. We've been without the wall oven for a month now. Crossing our fingers that the fridge and range-top keep working.

I spent over $1200. trying to repair a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and they finally said there was a short in the foam box and it cannot be repaired. The company said they will offer a $932.67 credit towards the purchase of a new FP refrigerator. I told the female representative that the local dealer I use had one in stock and I could get it immediately. She said that would be ok and they can reach out and get reimbursed. Once the refrigerator was bought, Fisher Paykel now says they cannot offer the credit as it was bought by a dealer! This company has lied and treated me so poorly after all I have been through that I would seriously consider using another company when buying appliances.

Had my washing machine about 18 months, when the drain pump went, then about 4 weeks later the circuit board went down. What gets me angry is that each part takes over a week to get repaired to the machine, as they have to order the part. I find this outrageous that it takes that long. You can only contact Fisher Paykel on the 1300 number in NZ, and they're not worried that you are without your appliance for however long, as the parts come from their Queensland depot, and they don't do overnight express. So I asked why they didn't have a service center with their parts here in WA, and every Capital City, but they said it's not necessary to do that.
What a lot of bull. Their customer service is disgusting. Washing machines are very needy when you have kids. Waiting for over a week to get any appliance fixed in this day and age is bad management, and they need to look at ways to provide quicker and better service to the consumers that buy their products that keeps them in jobs. This will be the last Fisher Paykel appliance I ever buy - never again!

We purchased a washer and dryer set. My husband did extensive research prior to our purchase. Due to some of their unique features and where it was made, we felt we made a good decision. We are about 5 to 6 years of use. No problems. Then one day my washer went completely down. No sign of power, nothing. Made sure it was power to the machine.
I called Fisher Paykel directly. Gave the information of the problem over the phone. This person said it was more than likely the pump which probably took out the control board as well. Needless to say I wasn't excited. Both my husband and myself, independently of each other, have owned our on appliance repair service companies. Although it was years ago I knew or felt it would be a little costly. Both parts were reasonable by comparison, better than I actually expected. The cost that I was surprised about is what the service company quoted to come out.
This is the company that I purchased the set from, no consideration and they were less than 5 minutes from me. So given our past experience, my husband decided to look at it himself. We first ordered the pump, process of elimination. Once replaced we had a different symptom. The control board would light up but shut down. So my husband went online to look at any offerings for technical assistance. What he found was this situation of the pump and control board going down at the same time was an ongoing complaint.
So with much dismay we ordered the control board. We have yet to receive it but are most hopeful that this will take care of the problem. In the meantime I thought I would call them and check on the part plus voice my disappointment. In speaking with someone in customer service she made the statement that the problem with that scenario had been corrected in future equipment. Which from the beginning of being told that the pump going down could take out the control board also made no sense to me. Why would you make such a design?
So that led me to wanting to push it a little bit further. I was fortunate enough to speak to their head of customer relations. Explained my thoughts on this situation. She was very professional, personable and sympathetic. With no demands on my part she voluntarily set up a refund on the cost of the control panel. This I felt was very fair. She even went on to give me her personal number in case we needed future assistance.
I was in the appliance, electronic and HVAC business for over 15 years. I remember the Lennox representative making a statement, "That you never know how good a company is until you have a problem." Well for this situation, for me I rate Fisher Paykel very high. I do believe they have a well made product. I also believe they are utilizing new technologies to make a better product all around. So with this, there will be some trial and error. I have to believe if they have the knowledge there is a problem on their end, they will attempt to make it right.
My company serviced as many as 30 different manufacturers name brands. During this we service them for in and out of warranty. There is one company that stood out above the rest for taking care of their problems and customer complaints. That company was Speed Queen. I believe Fisher Paykel could well be on their way to accomplishing the same. Thanks.

Fisher-Paykel has apparently spent the majority of their resources on engineers that design a product to last no more than 2 years. I purchased a VERY expensive Fisher-Paykel refrigerator, model number RF175WDRUX1 from Lowe's in Lake Worth, Texas on January 17, 2013. In late November of 2014 the fridge stopped working. After reviewing the paperwork, I discovered that Fisher-Paykel offered a "5 year limited warranty".
Called Lowe's, they put me in contact with a repair facility, called Fisher-Paykel (super nice folks on the phone, but all good con-artists need a good front operation). It is now 6 weeks since my service call: Parts are still on backorder. THIS IS A SCAM MANUFACTURER. There is no excuse for a 6-week backorder in a day when I can order anything from China and have it on my doorstep within 3 days.
As I write this, Lowe's has me on permanent hold. So, my advice: DO NOT BUY FROM LOWE'S AND DO NOT BUY FISHER-PAYKEL PRODUCTS. The sad part is that no matter how nice or patient you are, you will not get any traction with Lowe's or Fisher-Paykel unless and until you are prepared to file a Deceptive Trade Practices lawsuit.
Fisher-Paykel is an insult to New Zealanders...they make products engineered to fail and engage in ongoing deceit on U.S. Consumers. Classic Deceptive Trade Practices by Fisher-Paykel. Texas consumers should avoid their products.

I purchased a new refrigerator in August of 2014 and I started having issues the first week with the water dispenser dripping water. After 5 service appointments and 4 months I am having them replace the unit with a newer smaller one that is now available.
1. Easy to get on the phone.
2. Easy to schedule appointments.
Negatives:1. Product should not be defective day 1.
2. Manufacturer should take responsibility and give credit for the 4 months of product malfunction.
3. Agree to exchange for a newer but smaller product 17.5cf vs. 17cf although they did not want to accommodate covering the cost for a bigger one since the actual product they had to replace was discontinued.
I will NOT recommend the product to my family or friends.

I have a Fisher & Paykel Dish Drawer and Refrigerator. From all the homework I have done and also the information I've gathered from the dealer I bought the products from. The main cause of Mildew or water in the tub is from it being installed incorrectly. These products work fantastic when they are installed correctly. Be sure to use someone who is authorized to install Fisher & Paykel Appliances because I can promise you. Your contractor or Plumber will screw it up. They need to follow the directions if they haven't installed one before.
The products have a warranty for 1 year. If your Fisher & Paykel appliance doesn't hold up to the standards you expected, it’s probably because you didn't care for them as the use and care guide recommends. Expect to see more growth from a small unknown company that has very unique and elegant products. They also perform better than most higher end brands. All I can say is, do your homework and really look at how these products stand apart from all the others.

Fisher Paykel RF48SS - We purchased this $9000 refrigerator new in 2009. In late August the refrigerator portion of the side by side went to 50 degrees - started to make noise. I came to find out that the noise was from the fan hitting the iced up coils. We went to the Fisher Paykel site and decided to call the only factory authorized service company in Jacksonville Florida - Expert Appliance Repair Service, Orange Park FL. This was our second mistake, the first being not purchasing a Sub Zero or Monogram to begin with. Four service calls later and three months later the refrigerator portion of the side by side is still at 50 degrees.
To date we have spent $560 while "Experts" personnel ineptly replaced first the damper then the main board attempting to solve our 50 degree refrigerator problem. Today (11/24/2014) was visit number four, with the replacement of the main board. As you may have already guessed, the refrigerator is still not working. The temperature is still at 50 degrees. I was charged $304.49 for the main control board, a part that is available from Samsungparts.com for $93.82.
History:Called for appointment in late August. Told it would take ten days for them to schedule a call. 9/9/2014 service call (ticket **). Evaluated and it was determined that the DC Damper Assembly was bad and need to be replaced. This was determined by tech testing the unit and seeing no reading on the VOM. Charge for the call - $254.57. 9/17/2014 follow-up service call (ticket **). Determined to be a bad control board. 11/24/2014 - returned to replace the main control board (ticket **). Charge for call - $304.49. Temperature after 6 hours has not changed. Turned the unit off and then back on, no change.
I'm reviewing the troubleshooting instructions online. There is a test procedure to determine the point of failure for this specific problem, and at none of the four visits has this test procedure ever been performed. Recommend you stay with established brands as this has been a nightmare.

He said he would get back to me. By late July nothing had happened and he basically washed his hands of it telling me the Fisher Paykel regional manager had ordered parts and would get back to us. By late September the parts had still not arrived so we started contacting Fisher Paykel America for help. They kept referring everything back to the regional manager who, for some reason, refused to contact us with updates. We were still waiting for a fix when they told us in October that the fridge misalignment could not be fixed. We asked for another fridge and was told that they didn't make this model any more and the closest model that would fit in our space was $500 more and was 0.5 cu. feet smaller. I asked that they replace our fridge with this one at no extra cost and they refused only offering an in-store credit for the original amount. Plus, sadly, I don't enjoy baking or roasting meals for my family anymore. Now, my refrigerator beeps every time I open the door, upper and lower (it is a french door frig/freezer on bottom). An "F20" code is on the door panel. I read about this in the internet and customers are saying it is a $1,000+ fix!
Fisher & Paykel are expensive products. Mine are only six years old. I remodeled my kitchen around these products. My only choice is to deal with the company to get them fixed. But I want EVERYBODY to know how unreliable they are!! PS I went to an open house at an expensive condominium/apartment project in Orange County, California. Noticed all the units have Fisher & Paykel kitchen appliances. Oh boy. The national multi-family home builder is NOT going to be happy when homeowners and residents start complaining.

We were getting a new kitchen installed last May, and after much consideration had gone with almost all Fisher and Paykel appliances. Unfortunately our son had an accident in the kitchen mid Sept shattering the front piece of glass on the oven door. We called Services about a replacement which was showing available online but it took a whole week of ringing every day only to be told that there was no stock of the glass part or a whole door and they couldn't tell for sure when it would be available. Well it's 4 weeks now and we have called repeatedly and emailed customer care as well to no avail. Polite and sorry as they always are when speaking on the phone or responding in their emails, the staff seem to be at a loss for a resolution. There seems not to be an answer from the technical team here in the UK which is totally mind boggling for a supposed reputable and growing company.
We are sorry that the only people we can speak with are helpless and taking the flak for F&P's poor services. How does Fisher and Paykel actually function in their after-sales care or do they actually care for their customers? If only we had known this, we would not have kitted out our kitchen with so many F&P appliances. But now that our architect, builders and friends see what we are currently facing, no one is likely to use or recommend the use of F&P appliances. It's a real shame, good products but poor organisation. We have decided the next step would be to refer case to the Ombudsman.

Called a repairman and he said it would cost approx. 350.00 to repair the sensors which make the heat come on all the time-so the mold. Can't turn it off. Every time it is opened the heat comes on. The next day our fridge did the same thing as 2 years before..Again we again called Fisher Paykel on both occasion dishwasher and fridge. We were told that appliances have a 4-5 year life and the problem was ours. Both these appliances were very expensive and should have a longer life. We bought our fridge, brand new in Sep 2011. After 3 years of use, our Fisher & Paykel E240BR fridge has broken down, 3 times in the last 3 months. July 2014 - Fridge was freezing everything, but the freezer was working fine. Called the F&P repair service and they couldn't come for 8 days. When they eventually came, the repairman fixed the thermostat and said it should be good. 30 August 2014 - Fridge & freezer stopped cooling, although motor was running. Everything in the fridge was warm and spoiled. Again F&P repair service couldn't come for a week. In the meantime we had no fridge and had to throw out over $200 worth of food from fridge and freezer.
By the time the repairman came, fridge had started working again. He said there was nothing he could do until it broke down. 28 September 2014 (TODAY) - Again fridge and freezer have stopped working. Did not notice until tonight and again everything in the fridge is warm. When we rang the F&P call centre, they cannot come until Tuesday. Ridiculous. Call centre person was extremely rude and tried to say they had fixed it. Um if you had fixed it then why is it warm and stopped working again. Needless to say I am going to buy a new fridge tomorrow. Broken down 3 times in the last 3 months and its only 3 years old. Very unreliable, poorly made product. The balance sensor and electronics panel had to be replaced - three service calls, because they received the wrong parts calls and a month later it was fixed. After two weeks same problem and three weeks. Finally problem was resolved and because of the warranty no cost to me. OK fine inconvenience but no biggie.
Two years after this issues with the motor or something all in all cost me $350 TO FIX. I WAS PISSED. Now after 5 years of crappy reliability it again seems to have the original issue.. Fisher Paykel has replaced almost every part of the unit and repairs are costly. The last repair lasted less than a year. I live alone and ran the dishwasher once a week preferring to wash a few dishes by hand. The unit runs great and I love it when it's working (last week). We replaced it with a new Fisher & Paykel unit since the one that we had had a lot of quirk things about it and they were becoming too much of a challenge for us to deal with. We chose this model because my husband and I are empty nesters and we liked the idea of having a smaller dishwasher to fill and run rather than having to put every dish we own over a course of two weeks into a single regular size dishwasher. Our favorite feature is its two drawers. One of them is a deeper drawer that can easily handle big plates and platters. It's very quiet. It is water efficient. It's very attractive to look at. I have a full-sized dishwasher to handle everyday other things but I wanted something just for little things throughout the day that build up in the sink. When I saw them, I was very impressed and I was extremely pleased with it. I like that it holds everything and it's easy to operate. This was my first purchase of a Fisher Paykel.
I had problems with it in the beginning. I don't know whether it was related to the person who installed it or the way that it was installed. Every time I went to use it for the first two weeks, I got an error message. We finally figured out that it was pushed too far back in the cabinet and it was pushing into the waterline every time that happened so it was causing the error message to tell me that it wasn't connected. I saw a Fisher & Paykel commercial about the type of dish washer that I wanted and from what I understand, they're pretty much the only ones the make those now, the drawer ones. So when my refrigerator quit working, I decided to buy one although it was much more expensive but it had the drawer option that I wanted. The company has been very good so far. As far as I know, I dealt with just the company that I bought it from in the store, but as far as my happiness with the dishwasher, I'm not really pleased. To begin with, we had the one that I ordered and laid for to be in stock and it was put in and for some reason it leaked immediately.
Right after the delivery guy left, it started leaking, at least twice. It's been three times it's flooded my kitchen floor, my hardwood floor. They called me that they were going to contact the company of Fisher & Paykel and find out if they were going to do anything about my floor, but I haven't heard anything. Then they bought me a stainless steel one and put it in to replace the one that I ordered, which was a couple hundred dollars more and they didn't make me pay the extra money, which was nice. I have my dishwasher and I was happy. But since then, it's only been less than a year and probably six months or so but the pieces inside where you stack the dishes are already breaking.
I have to find another piece that I could put there so that I could get my dishes in there. Plus the fact that the chimes are so close together that you can't get anything in there except for a flat dish, unless you just take all of the things out and just have an open drawer. Our complaint is that nothing fits in them right and it doesn't clean as well as I thought they would. I thought they would be very good for what we spent on them. I put less and less in them just thinking it'll get cleaner and cleaner because they're in such a compact area. But they don't really seem to. And I follow all the rules on what they say to do and stuff but even so stuff is not as clean as I thought it would get. So I don't know what it is that keeps it from being clean, but I keep trying.

We bought a new Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer at least five years ago. When we went and looked to buy a new washer and dryer, they had a F&P set sitting there. They were quite a bit more expensive than a lot of the other ones there at the time. I looked at them, read a little bit about them and liked what I read about them and they did seem to do as well as they said. The clothes would come out of the washing machine with a lot less water still in them than I was used to from other washing machines and it would really spin the water out well which meant less drying time. You can set it on automatic and it would decide how much water it needed.
We're still using the washing machine, and it still does an excellent job. The only problem we've had with it is I have had to replace the agitator two times because the clothes would get caught under the agitator blade. And if the kids were getting the clothes out and not paying attention they would break the agitator blade. Also the dryer some time ago started to have a loud squeaking noise, and I looked up what it was. There were some parts I could have purchased for less than $200 and it didn't sound like that hard of a fix but we decided to go ahead and buy a new Fisher & Paykel dryer. The rangetop is wonderful - my first experience using gas, and I love it! Our ovens are a different story. After 6 months of use, one of our ovens stopped working properly. Since we live where there are no warranty repair available, DCS sent their regional person. He fixed the oven, but a week later, it quit working again. We are still waiting to hear back from him. Very disappointed in the oven. Hoping to resolve this as quickly as before.

I love the new Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. I love it because there are a lot of things I don't wash. It's nice to have the two different drawers. I could put a smaller load in the bottom or a bigger load in the top where in the past, I've either had to run the dishwasher with a really small load or I would have to wait until I filled up my dishwasher to wash everything. However, you can't get in some of the bigger things because of the way the inside is laid out. It's hard to get the dish soap in. You can't use the big box and have to put the soap in a smaller jar to pour it in but overall, I would not have gotten a different dishwasher.

I bought a house in the southern part of Virginia and it had old appliances in it and the dishwasher failed. I went to a store that sold all the brands and we were taken by the drawer configuration. We thought that would work well on our kitchen and it has done. I like the fact that I can load pots and pans in the lower drawer and other stuff in the upper drawer and do them all at once. And it's just the easier loading feature. I think it's a wonderful machine. It washes dishes very well and I have only a few complaints. It's a little awkward getting used to the fact that there's only water coming from below, there's no upper wand so you have to be clever about how you put things in it. And the plastic piece which you grab to open it, both the upper and lower ones have cracked, so they're just not strong enough for the load that they have to put up with. Daily opening and closing. But outside of that, it's been wonderful.

I went to Warners' Stellian here in the Twin Cities. I asked what are my options for a 36-inch unit. I had no background on Fisher & Paykel. I got their 36-inch stove. It works, it heats up to temperature. The burners on top are a little bit more aggressive. I would have liked to have a different simmer burner than what I have on there but all things considered, I would give it a 9 out of 10. It is beautiful. I didn't buy it originally because of cost. It's truly a beautiful piece of equipment. I would definitely consider, it's a beautiful artistic design and it looks absolutely stunning in my kitchen. It was nineteen years before I got a kitchen remodel and it is a beautiful piece..
There's a glitch for some reason - if I start the burner on top, it can turn the oven off, I have to be real careful for that. I'm not sure why, I should probably check into it. But this is what I like the best out of it and I'll be honest with you - the oven heats to temperature PERFECTLY. And I have such a respect for that because that's what it's supposed to do. That's why you buy an oven! That Whirlpool took an hour to heat to 300 and you have to set it. You don't have enough paper to write my comments on that one.

I ran into it going online and looking for a counter depth refrigerator and that's when I ran into Fisher & Paykel. I chose them primarily because they were the only one that actually had the depth that I wanted. Other people called 'em counter depth refrigerators but they really weren't. I have the 17 cubic foot refrigerator with the ice drawer at the bottom and two doors at the front. We pretty much like everything about it. My favorite thing about it was that it only sticks out four inches past the counter and it performs as well if not better, I would say. The only problem I've had is with the sliding drawer. It's come off the track a couple times. The service people have been able to get it back on and I think I know how to do it myself now.

We thought we'd give it a try because we like the idea of it being a quiet experience. This was the first one I've had without the agitator so it is different and I'm still getting used to what setting to use so that it does not wrinkle the clothes so much. We like it so far. I’m getting used to it taking a longer cycle. There is this minor thing. I wish the beeper was louder. I've got it up to the maximum beep but it’s so quiet I can’t hear it in the other room. I saw Fisher & Paykel advertised on television. We didn't actually go looking for that make at the time. It was just one that we'd come across. It was about what we were after, on sale. But we had looked at them before up in London. We purchased a refrigerator. It didn't start out very good. When we bought it, they showed us a small pinhole dent in the front door which we thought was fine, and they'd reduced the price. When it arrived here, it seemed to have a couple of dents that we hadn't seen before in it. We don't know whether we'd missed them or they happened when they were bringing them down. But they brought it in and the controls wouldn't work. It would work as a refrigerator but you couldn't control anything.
So we complained to the place where we bought it, and they weren't allowed to service it for the first year. We had to get some service people out of St. Thomas. They were good, checked it out, and it wouldn't work. They had to order a new front panel control unit and it took about 2 or 3 weeks. They got it here, plugged it in, and it has worked fine since. The appliance is good once it was operational but the place where we bought it, we wouldn't set foot in the door again because we didn't get very good service.

We had to replace a fridge that was 11 years old and defective so we got a Fisher & Paykel. We certainly appreciate the ice-making system and the fact that it doesn't take up too much room from the refrigerator section, that's for the cold water. Compared to other makes, the other one seems to take up a lot of room, this one is just a small space in the door. And for the ice, it's very reasonable. That's the main thing. This is the first time that I have the French doors. You cannot pull the drawers, neither the fruit nor the meat drawers without opening both doors. So this is one thing that may not be the most efficient and this to me would be not totally negative.

We decided to get a new unit of Fisher & Paykel because we’re getting older and have to bend down all the way in to get in the old washer. And it wasn't broke but we went up to Millman's who is the independent distributor. They had one there but they also introduced us to split door and they are the only ones that have a fast wash, it's 38 minutes. So we got it and they put it in, 90% of all these... it's a very good machine and the people that put them in and represent the product, they knew what they were talking about. I didn't know Fisher & Paykel's name simply because they're a better, higher end and you don't find them in Lowe's and other stores.
A lot of people just don't know about them but it's an excellent product. It does what it's supposed to do and does it quietly. I've had the washer for 2 or 3 years and I use the top drawer 90% of the time. We use the bottom drawer every now and then to make sure it doesn't get clogged up or gets lonesome. And every now and then if you noticed something, you just put it on the normal cycle which is 56 minutes and everything comes out fine. I don't know how you could improve it other than put the dishes away for me once it's done. Is there anybody there who can do that for me? For older people and people that just don't wanna mess with stuff, the product is very very good. You hit a home run. But the washer broke out unlike the one we got from Fisher & Paykel, so we purchased from Fisher & Paykel again. Compared to the past model we had, this one is good. I like its soak cycle feature which the other one didn't have. We're not happy that the first one didn't last longer than it did but we like it.

I have just replaced my old Fisher Paykel dish drawers with new ones. I love the drawers. Their size and versatility work great for the two of us. The inside of new one is a bit smaller than my old one so that is taking some getting used to. That one small thing is my only complaint. I would definitely recommend Fisher Paykel Dish Drawers (and have).

We had bought a new Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. It sat for awhile. We were in the middle of doing our model, installed it and it wouldn't run so I had registered the unit and she insisted that I show the proof even. They repaired it and then asked me for a copy of my receipt. They've done nothing but harass me. They're charging me $135 for something that they never even said, "We may have to bill for this. We'll have to send it through to see if it's covered under warranty." They just fixed it and then called me and said, "How come you haven't paid this?" They didn't even give me an invoice but call me and harass. I just got a phone call a couple of days ago again. I would never ever use them. It was horrible.

I have had a Fisher Paykel single dish drawer since 2001 and recently replaced it with a newer model. Not because I had to, but because I did a kitchen makeover and the timing was right. In all the years I had my original FP dishwasher, it required service twice and both times service was expedient and at reasonable cost. In my opinion, as a long time user of the product, the value, reliability and performance of the FP dish drawer can't be beat.

The Fisher Paykel dual drawer dishwasher is an excellent new example of high quality and performance in a kitchen dish washing appliance. The dual drawer is engineered wonderfully to provide multiple ways to perform, and perform it does! The two drawers provide flexibility beyond a normal/standard design. The loading capabilities are different yet provided with a lot of forethought given to providing space. It utilizes much more of the actual inside space of the two drawer/washers.
Once you understand the loading capabilities of the provided inside racks and adjustment capabilities, the loading capabilities are creative and useful. Three simple buttons on the outside of each drawer provide easy execution of functions. The dual washers are extremely easy to start, stop or pause at any time, using the three simple buttons. The system has various wash cycles and times all easily accessed and executed by another single button conveniently located inside either drawer's top edge. A small LED lit screen on each drawer face provides a moving icon that lets the user know have knowledge of what stage of a cycle the wash drawer is executing. The LED also shows the cycle time duration working backwards from a start time to the finish of the cycle.
The Fisher Paykel system is very quiet working washer. Yes, you can hear some functions executing some times during the cycle, but it is very quiet overall. Most importantly, the Fisher Paykel Dual Washing system cleans and shines dishes, glassware and utensils with precision to a sparkling bright clean. This is especially true if the user does not allow large amounts of food to enter the system. Pre-rinsing is any dishwasher's best friend! Use this kitchen appliance/tool correctly, and you will have a great dish washing experience with this product.
By far, the Fisher Paykel Dual Dish Washing system is the highest quality, best working, and easy to use dish washing appliance I have ever had in any of my kitchens. I highly recommend the Fisher Paykel Dual Drawer Dish Washing Appliance/System for any kitchen.

I have had my Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for about 10 years. I absolutely love the concept of two drawers for washing dishes since I always have an empty washer that I can load. But I have to admit I have not been 100% satisfied with the unit. The top washer has always had issues and I have had it serviced almost every year for the last 10 years. Most of the time it will beep and stop running through the cycle for no reason. And even when it does run through the cycle, some of the dishes will need to be run again. It is not always super clean as I would expect from a good dishwasher. I am told that the newer models do not have the computer at the bottom of both drawers, which causes it to short circuit a lot. I hope the newer models are better at cleaning the dishes than mine is.

A girlfriend of mine had the two drawer dishwasher that she bought about 5 years ago and I just loved that. So when we went to remodel our kitchen, we put in Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. We also have the DCS stove and microwave or cooktop, microwave & oven. All of our appliances are Fisher & Paykel. Everything was good until just recently when we were not too happy. We had to wait 3 weeks to get a part for our oven that stopped working and it's only 6 months old...
We like the actual appliances. It's just the fact that it's so long to get any kind of parts in and then we had also paid for the extended warranty on them so we paid quite a bit extra just to have them and then had to deal with waiting.

I've owned front-load machines for the past 5 years. Had a good experience with them as well. I just moved into top-load HE laundry and went F&P. After comparing the two styles I would recommend the F&P top-loaders. Being able to control your water levels is such an advantage to laundry. Heavily soiled stains are removed more significant with extra water. Having a thorough rinse improved my whites and stained outdoor clothing. The gentleness of F&P laundry is at peak level. My delicate clothing is avoiding vigorous wear and tear, even though front-load offers a delicate cycle. The controlled spin out speed is phenomenal. Clothes are noticeably softer and brighter. F&P laundry is amazing and I would recommend to any consumer.

My former neighbor had a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and when she no longer wanted to top load and we were moving, she offered it to me and it lasted maybe a year. It was not even a two-year old machine and we had to have parts replaced on it. When we moved in here, I bought the Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer because of its energy efficiency and I had multiple problems with that, to the point where it needed to be replaced and then after it was replaced, the service people had to come back in and they had to take off a piece of the top part that was rubbing on the dryer.
I replaced my washing machine with a GE and that has been okay. The dryer seemed okay, but I don't trust it and the only way I got service was to call Fisher and Paykel themselves and speak with the representative there. Fisher and Paykel claimed that the representative that supported this area where I live was having family emergencies. I'm also having an emergency when I had a lot of laundry to do that I don't have time to go out a Laundromat to do. I hold my breath, I won't leave the house when the dryer is running. I constantly go in and check it because I'm just not certain. It took me seven months of dealing with the problem and then finally they agreed to replace the machine with a new one. It's fine, but I still have little hesitation about leaving it unattended. I don't have the money to replace it. When I do I will.

We had to go through the store that we bought it from. They were unsure of just how the service was going to be. They gave the names but I don't think they really knew what happens beyond that. It's a typical retailer, you get them on the phone; say you got some service problem and that's probably the last thing they want to hear. I like the brand. I would definitely recommend that particular product. As far as service wise, I think they have a long way to go in making people feel good about the service.

In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. I needed a new refrigerator because my old one is 24 years old and had a leak so I purchased the Fisher & Paykel especially because it fits the area of the space in my apartment. It has a counter depth that when you add the door and the handle, it would fit the wall deck that it needed to fit. I was happy that I was able to get a French door which is what I really wanted.
Compared to my old ref, it got a water feature which I never had before which is nice. I'm kind of disappointed that the ice maker's not on the outside. The water for the ice seems to go outside the ice tray and then it gets stuck. It's hard to move it out, to pull it back or push it back so I was taking ice away from the sides. I don't know if that just happens to be but somehow the drawer part was installed for some reason because it doesn't seem like it's lopsided or anything like that. I'll explore it again and see what would happen when I turn it all back on again.
I would recommend Fisher & Paykel to others. I had mentioned it to some people already because I had a neighbor who happened to pass by after they installed it and the blinds were up and said "Ooh, French door and it's fixed." So I told her what it was.

I was renovating my apartment and so I was replacing everything. When I went in to the distributor to buy a refrigerator, the distributor showed me Fisher Paykel and I liked it. It seemed to have the features I wanted. It had the proper dimensions that I needed to fit in the kitchen and it was stainless steel. It seemed to be fine. The only objection I would have to it is they have a very strange design in so far as their water filter is concerned. I never would have bought the thing had I not been doing a major renovation because they mount the water filter outside the refrigerator. While all the other manufacturers, you just screw the filter in inside the refrigerator and you're done with it. But you need a plumber to put the thing together. And the plumber basically who put it in initially was not familiar with it, so he installed it incorrectly. I had to have him take it out and redo the installation. But it's worked.
I haven't had it very long. It's fine for me right now. The longevity of the thing is going to be important because in the past few years, I have not had luck with refrigerators and they don't seem to last. So we'll see if this one lasts. I did, which I never had done before, take a long term contract out of the thing. Overall, I would give my friend the caveat that you may have an issue with needing a plumber to install the thing rather than just having the distributor come and install it because of that filter. In fact, the crazy thing is I have the refrigerator obviously in my kitchen, but the water filter is in my bathroom because you have to mount the filter very close to the source of water.

I saw Fisher Paykel through Consumer Reports years ago. I'm a repeat customer of that company. It's my third or fourth purchase with them - the latest being a washer and dryer. Their lifespan isn't as long as it used to be. They're not built like they were back 25 years ago when you could have one for 20 years. Not so much plastic should be used in manufacturing some of the push buttons and things that tend to break or wear out over time. The whole face is plastic and the face tends to crack on the buttons that you use consistently. There should be more flexibility in the fabric that they're using for those push buttons. They're pretty simple machines. The noise level on the washer is pretty high. It sounds like you have an airplane in your house. Besides that and things breaking that are too expensive to repair, they're fine. They wash the clothes and they get them clean. That's all I can ask for.

I’m pissed off because the dryer was about four years old and I had to have it worked on about three times and ended up throwing it away. On the top load, the plastic parts just broke and the door wouldn’t come up and jammed. It got brittle and broke out. I spent about $900 for this dryer. Right at four years and it just fell apart. The bearings went out about two times. And one of the switches went out. And the door got misaligned. The parts must have been breaking then and so it caught and bent the door.
I loved that dryer but I had to get a front load. The top load was more convenient for me. I am not satisfied because of the parts. They need to change the parts. The hard plastic parts dry out and become brittle when it gets heated enough and the bearings they use on there should be linear bearings as they are much smoother rolling and quieter bearings. I could have gone and got another type of dryer than go back to Fisher & Paykel, but I went back to Fisher & Paykel because that’s what I believe in and I got the service out of it, but, if I have another disappointment, they won’t get anything else from me again
