Two-drawer dishwashers from Fisher and Paykel very strongly NOT recommended! We splurged on one a year and a half ago but have had repeated problems with it. First, no one knew how to install it, certainly not the Best Buy-types of installers. The Best Buy installers put it in, but after a couple of days, when you opened up either drawer, the unit fell forwards. The F&P installer at least knew how to install it, but it cost us an additional $350. The drawers don’t empty out water, so it stands still and rots, despite regular filter cleaning. We have had to have it serviced more than once at very high prices as no one knows how to do this but F&P at a high service rate.

There are constantly issues such as programs stalling, difficulties in resetting programs or changing them, etc. Just way too many high-tech issues with something that should be a functioning dishwasher! The programs are very long. The "Fast" program takes almost an hour, while the "Eco" clocks in at 2:00 hours! There's an app for our dishwasher, but you can basically only see how long each drawer has left on their program. It does not do the one thing I would think is useful about a dishwasher app - it does not send a push notification when a program has finished. Cheap Asian parts and technology, maybe. Notice all the other similar problems for other buyers too. DO NOT BUY! We will be discarding ours next time it needs a “service call” and buying a traditional type again. Such a shame, we really wanted this to work! We wasted a lot of money on this.

I wished I had read the reviews. The doors were completely bumped at delivery, and since then we replaced so many times, no matter what they are always damaged either at arrival or at installation. The techs for the most part are not nice people. I won't be surprised if they even can't stand this brand. This is no luxury, this is garbage quality. Save your money!

My 2 year old $1700+ double drawer dishwasher was diagnosed (after a $130 service call) with having a failed electronic control module (no power). $700+ to repair and replace the failed parts. Didn't feel it was fair to pay for a part that shouldn't fail after just 2 years but they only agreed to pay for the part (about a $100) but not the labor cost almost $700. The wait time for any repair person to come out is weeks every time (I have numerous F&P appliances). Absolutely terrible quality control and insanely slow service. I will never buy Fisher Paykel appliances again.

I bought a top end all stainless DCS BBQ grill almost 30 years ago. Fisher-Paykel bought the brand, and I expected it not to support old out of warranty grills. I was sorely mistaken. Though I never spent a dime with Fisher-Paykel, there was never a time a live person didn't take my call, switch me to the engineering or similar department for articulate, courteous, generous, responsive, knowledgeable instructions, parts, and service above and beyond. With every parts order, it always included something useful, such as replacement stainless steel screws (which are heat resistant). Recently, I blew out the thermocouple on the rear rotisserie burner. My fault - I used a flame instead of the igniter to light the burner, and blew the thermocouple. It's difficult to think of a better customer service experience I've had with another company.

Fisher-Paykel deserves this review. I wish I could do more. It identified the part I needed and shipped it out. A few twists of a screwdriver, a plug in replacement part, and a successful restoration of my rotisserie burner in time for my Thanksgiving turkey. By the way, there's no better, juicier way to roast a turkey than slow-roasting at 175 on a spit, catching the juices in a pan below instead of allowing drippings to cause flare ups from lower burners. Turkeys and rib roasts are over-the-top scrumptious when roasted in this fashion. Yes, meats turn out better this way than when deep fried in dangerous oil pots. No comparison... none!

Our new Fisher & Paykel gas range has been a problem since we moved into our new townhome 5 months ago. We've been dealing with the less than satisfactory burner adjustments so far. Now the unit is not working - only a 10% flame on two out of five burners - nothing more. Our "earliest" rush appointment is in 6 days. Thanksgiving is coming - no advance prep for us I guess. When our builder selected Fisher and Paykel they were sold by their claims of "Superior Customer Service". Despite several phone calls we're getting no quick service for a pretty essential appliance. We would never pick Fisher & Paykel appliances again. Too bad.

I have never had so much problem dealing with people as I had this week and I worked for a call center lol, I bought a new mask and hose in April at $325.00 from The Snore Shop in Sackville and last month the silicone split so when I took it back they said it's only under warranty for 30 days so this is just a mask, no motors, nothing that should break in 30 days. So anyway they said to call Fisher &Paykel who makes the mask. They said their warranty is 90 days and again nothing should happen in that time, so mine tore in 2 straight lines along a seam so it’s a manufacturer's defect and they just pushed me off like I did not matter to them, I would not recommend you buy from them. They will not cover any problems you have.

I brought a Fisher and Paykel refrigerator almost two years ago and it stopped working completely a month ago. I STILL have a broken fridge! It's been a nightmare trying to get a service contractor out that they contract with. In my area (DMV) there is only 2 contracting companies they have! Of course I have had to wait for weeks for my initial service appt, just to find out - it needs parts (controller and invertor board). Here goes another 1 1/2 week wait for them to come in.

Today was the day...thought it was all going to be taking off. Nope, the parts did not work- so now they are most certain it's the compressor. Here I am, a month later with no fridge and Fisher and Paykel has not been helpful at all even though I am still under warranty. This is the one and only time I will be buying from them. For all the dazzle they promote here in the US, it's worthless. Please do yourself a favor and buy any other brand- after looking at my other of their reviews- I am not the only one. Now I have to go buy a fridge I can place in my basement.

Our apartment has brand new Fisher Paykel appliances. Our stove top oven wasn't installed correctly by the company and we've been having issues with the oven's door. They came to replace a part that was broken (and made us pay for it, of course). Replacing it the first time took a lot of phone calls and 3 different visits. In less than a year the same part broke again. I've scheduled appointments to get it replaced and after having 3 different technicians come to our apartment they still haven't done anything. The last one said they didn't have on record that they had come to the apartment already (even though we had scheduled that 3rd appointment because they had already received the part they ordered).

I've been trying to schedule a new appointment and every single time I get put on hold while they check if they received the part and every time the call mysteriously drops and no one calls me back so I have to start the whole process again. Literally the absolute worst customer service I've ever encountered and I'm getting close to the point of wanting to replace this new oven so I don't have to deal with these horrible company again. Avoid at all cost.

This is my second Fisher and Paykel Double Dish Drawer dishwasher. The first unit lasted 12 years. The second one ($2000.00+) stainless steel unit is falling apart after less than 2. Intermittent issues with the controls on the top drawer, the retaining pins on the top drawer keep falling out, and when the pins fall out the front panel falls off. Whoever designed the unit placed all of the weight of the front panel on the retaining pins instead of the 'u' shaped guide brackets, which to me are upside down. I can't say enough that I am highly disappointed with this product after my fantastic experience with the first. I can't, in all honesty, recommend this Fisher and Paykel Stainless Double Dish Drawer dishwasher.

Only used regular wash cycle until machine got older & had to up the cycle. Dishes came out dry as dust. Just purchased a new one in Feb 2023. Service man told me reason my dishes weren’t getting as clean & were coming out wet with water actually standing in bottom of drawer was so many of these machines are bought in California & the government has decreased the size of the motor and the temp of the wash & drying cycle. I was told to use the heaviest wash cycle which I did to no avail. So I will continue to use the regular cycle in hopes I might get 5 years out of this appliance.

I have a contractors grade dishwasher in a second house & with the ambient heat the dishes in this dishwasher come out drier & actually cleaner than my FP. The green energy people have ruined a perfectly good product at the expense of the consumer not to mention how much more energy the cycle takes & how much more frequently we will be taking their appliances to the landfill. FP does not recycle.

The worst mistake I ever made was purchasing my kitchen appliances from this manufacturer. Not only is their customer service as terrible as all the reviews state. I have had issues with my dishwasher, my bottom freezer of my refrigerator and the knobs breaking from my gas stove top.

Stove Top: I replaced the gas stove top knobs once which cost $250 each plus shipping. They broke within a year again. The plastic surrounding the knobs is cheap and flimsy.

Dishwasher: I purchased a dual dishwasher with custom built-in cabinet feature. The top dishwasher stopped working properly after about 6 months in use. After three different tries it was determine the dishwasher needed two extra screws to support the built-in cabinet. It worked but it highlights how Fisher and Paykel know nothing about their own products and how an issue that was ongoing for several months took this long to resolve. The motivation to fix this issue was only driven by the fact the manufacturer didn't want to replace my dishwasher.

Refrigerator: I have had my Refrigerator for three years. The bottom freezer stopped intermittently working. I have had three different parts put in only to have lost my food three different times. My repairist from my warranty provider stated to me that Fisher and Paykel has terrible customer service for technicians and it's impossible to get the parts. My repairist is often waiting days for a reply back from Fisher and Paykel Technicians. My bottom freezer is still not working, after paying extend warranty which is clear was a big waste of money it appears that my only option will be to replace this fridge. It definitely will not be replaced with another Fisher and Paykel product that is for sure!!!

BOTTOMLINE: DO NOT BUY THESE PRODUCTS. They don't have services trained well enough to understand the appliances, the parts are impossible to receive, the customer service is terrible!

I absolutely love the concept of the Dish Drawer but FP products do not last and you cannot get parts. If you are willing to buy a new one every 5 years - perfect - otherwise be prepared for frustration and periods of handwashing while you hunt for parts, repair people or just someone that will walk you through what to do. My first dishwasher lasted almost 8 years. My second 6 years. Each time - when something was failing - I looked to repair it myself (no luck in finding a repair person who could reliably service them and have access to parts) and it looks really easy to fix - the way it is designed - it is actually relatively straight forward to access and maintain - but the way it fails coupled with the cost and difficulty to buy replacement PLASTIC parts meant that it took a long time to get and when you do, something else fails shortly after.

You will find yourself chasing ever increasing costs that do not meaningfully extend the useful life of the dishwasher. Unlike cars where necessity and higher costs may force more repairs - dishwashers are not in that league and I don’t believe FP has set itself up for adequate North American support. Again - if money is not an issue - buy it and replace it when it begins to fail (replace all of it). If you do have other things to spend money on - then pass on this and buy something more reliable and supportable or something cheaper since you will replace it at the same rate. The concept of a dish drawer is really neat and so handy, but the design and support of this product makes it fleeting. Really do consider how much life force you want to expend into it before you buy it and maybe call your favourite repair place for their opinions first.

Although I have never had a service call & my dish drawers look brand new, & they run they sure don’t clean your dishes. I have tried dirty dishes, partly dirty dishes & mostly clean dishes. NONE COME OUT CLEAN. DISHES GO IN NEARLY CLEAN & COME OUT LOOKING WORSE THAN WHEN THEY WENT IN. My drawers are old & have had very little use as there were only 2 of us when purchased, now a widow & do very little cooking. A while back I had surgery & house guests so decided after cleaning them out well & running through a couple cycles empty (just to be sure there was nothing lingering) to give them a try again. No one can believe I have these expensive dish drawers & they don’t work. WELL THEY DON’T! The dishes came out with dried food baked on from the dry cycle. It’s not me these DON’T WORK!

I bought these because the name brand was supposed to be superior. I also was going to be needing to have a 2nd back surgery & thought the no bending would prove to be helpful. The no bending is helpful but not if they aren’t usable. If I ever need to replace these, FISHER PAYKEL COULD NOT GIVE THEM TO ME FREE. It would be a waste of my time. When I did contact the purchase company I was told if they run there is nothing we can do. For what these cost they should load themselves. BUYER BEWARE! When unpacked for professional installation it was noted there were parts missing for the integrated installation. After several emails calls and many hours with FP and our retailer in Canada (The Brick) we discovered no parts were available in Canada and had to be shipped from California. This took several days so we moved into our newly renovated home with no fridge and freezer.

Once installed we soon discovered the ice maker did not work. FP outsources their warranty service to a third party. A serviceman came and said the water filter seal was faulty and was preventing water flow to the ice maker. He said I had to buy one as they don’t stock any parts and neither does the retailer. I objected to this cost ($151 plus tax on Amazon) so I complained to FP CUSTOMER SERVICE as the product comes with a 2 year PARTS and labour warranty. Over 10 days before Kelowna Refrigeration could come, said needed a part, another long delay, upon arriving indicated it was not the problem, now order another part, a compressor I believe, finally came and installed. We were away for a couple of weeks. Upon arriving home purchased more groceries and they became frozen.. Very costly. Loud grinding noises again so much so, we had to get up in the middle of the night and remove all product from the fridge and pull the plug again! Repair people said they are now waiting for another part? About 2 months without our Fisher Paykel fridge and $534.00 later we don’t have fridge.

Tech assessed and left without fixing the issue, now it is leaking from the drawer and they are saying non warrantable. Poor response, over an hour spent on the phone and now we are getting told it will be another 2 weeks before they will come back out. Advised they will give me tips on washing.... hmm mother of 4, last machine lasted 10 years with no issues. Still in warranty, poor service, unreliable product!

I booked a service with Fisher and Paykel for a repair of my dish drawers, purchased in 2017. The repair cost $334 and it broke 2 days later. When I phoned, the customer service representative hung up on me when I asked for a refund. When I called back, I was only offered a partial refund and I am still $118 out of pocket for a repair that lasted 2 days. The dishwasher cost over $1500 so I certainly expected better. Unfortunately this is not the first issue I've had either. Beware.

We live in Metropolitan Toronto; largest city in Canada, 3rd or fourth largest in N.A. and Fisher Paykel doesn’t service the area. Outsourcing options to random appliance service centres. I would have to say that the only thing worse than the product - both our freezer and our dishwasher intermittently do not work - is the customer service. I would absolutely not recommend this brand at all!

Two years ago we bought a dishwasher- Fisher Paykel. One month ago we developed a F1 problem and the machine stopped working. We could not find anyone authorized who would come to our part of Chicago to fix it... Hours spent on the computer trying to get authorized service from the Grand Appliance store we bought from and fisher Paykel itself. WE had to hire an unauthorized repair person who charged 85 to tell us we needed a hose. One month later he came and for $365 installed the hose. We don't know if this repair works but we know that we cannot get a trained Fisher paykel repair person so if it doesn't we need to buy a dishwasher from a different company. Bad business. You should stop selling appliances to areas that cannot get service.

My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.

We purchased a full set of 4 appliances along with extended warranties for a kitchen renovation in 2016. After 5 years, when warranties had expired, only the refrigerator remains in good working order and we love it. The dishwasher never did a very good cleaning job and we had it serviced. (Do NOT purchase the 2 drawer model!) The microwave oven stopped without any warning because the main PCB and line conditioner needed replacement. The interlock assembly on the door also had a fair amount of play in it.

Then the induction range slowed down to only 2 working elements until the inverter board completely stopped rendering the cooktop completely unusable. The replacement piece cost was $1800 pre-tax and installation with a 30 DAY warranty! The oven cavity has turned off during use a couple of times which I consider a warning. Fisher and Paykel was unresponsive to communication so I will never purchase or recommend their product in the future.

I have several Fisher & Paykel (New Zealand) appliances in my home. They were purchased new and locally and been in my home for nearly 12 years. Recently I had a service need. Prior to this recent issue, I would have provided positive reviews. However, after my experience with F&P, I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE any U.S. purchaser from investing in a Fisher & Paykel appliance. Recently we had our "Convection/Microwave" go bad so we inquired with at least 10 local appliance repair companies to schedule service. Not a single one was authorized or would come out to work on Fisher & Paykel.

Comments received were "I heard they were out of business" to "good luck finding parts". So I elevated my inquiry to the U.S. office of Fisher & Paykel and they basically told me that they do not support their products past a certain point. I offered to send my appliance to one of their recommended vendors or repair people and they couldn't even recommend anyone. If you are going to spend good money purchasing appliances, purchase with a company that can guarantee support and parts after your warranty expires otherwise you are wasting your money.

Paid $1200 to have the appliances professionally installed and it still doesn't look right. The appliance installers blame it on the cabinets and cabinet installers blame it on the appliances. The panels on the appliances just don't have enough adjustability to make it line up with the rest of the cabinets. I am very disappointed with the look of the kitchen. It's supposed to be a higher end, custom kitchen and it looks worse than if we just got regular appliances. I regret getting the built-in appliances.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel dishwasher 6 months ago. I took out a store credit card and paid it off in 6 mo. The last time I turned the dishwasher on it started flashing and did not work, and then turned completely shut off, never to turn on again. I am not on week 7 -without a working dishwasher, I have spent countless hours calling fisher Paykel, at first they sent a repairman out asap, only because they tried to say it would take 1 week, I said that was unacceptable - he came the next day, only to tell me that he needed a part, came back 1 week later. My husband called me and told me the dishwasher could not be fixed and that it would need to be replaced. One week went by, I called the customer service number, on hold for 40 minutes. I was told the new dishwasher request had been denied.

It took hours to get the supervisor Richard to call me back. He said he did not know why it had been denied, though I was told he was the person who denied it and he said that he would order me a new dishwasher, that he was a consumer and understood how things went wrong in this day and age. A few days later I heard from the appliance store where I bought the dishwasher and was told it would take 1-2 weeks. It has now been over 2 weeks, so I called this morning, on hold for 40 minutes, spoke w/ Cindy. She said I would be updated today. I called Richard 2 days prior and left him a message the next day too, never returned my call. Today he called me, I missed his call, emailed me he was in meetings and unreachable. Did not hear from Fisher Paykel, so I called the appliance store. They told me Fisher Paykel said the dishwasher was sent to be there on July 23. Today is July 28, and it is not there.

We have a problem, not like Fisher Paykel has noticed. I called Fisher Paykel around 4pm, got through immediately, spoke w/ Cindy. She said that I was not speaking to her in a nice way. I explained how frustrating it has been dealing w/ her company and nobody follows through. She said she was going to follow up w/ Richard and get back to me. Never heard from her. This is has been a horrible experience - I have wasted countless hours on this issue. I am still without a dishwasher and am shocked at the horrible customer service. This is a very expensive appliance. I expected so much more. This is the 3rd dishwasher in 17years, all Fisher Paykel dishwashers that I have replaced. I should have learned my lesson.

Took months to get appliances and now it is taking months to fix my 5 year old dishwasher. Paid over $2200. A dishwasher this expensive should last longer than 5 years when it is kept well by owners. Both drawers don't work even though only one is broken. Their "suggested" repair guy said that the circuit boards used to be separate now there is one for both machines, so if one goes, they both go. Neither he nor I were impressed. After 2 months of waiting for part I called to complain and after an hour on hold was put through to customer service, who were supposed to call me back. I did receive a call that day, but could not hear person, I told them and asked them to call back. You guessed it! Have not heard back from this crappy company.

Love, love, love my dishwasher drawers, even though it doesn't clean well consistently. Just nice having two dishwashers. If I could find another company that makes them I would switch. This is not a good company. Plus, my oven is so small, my pizza pan would not fit in this oven and the fridge dints terribly. Do not buy this brand. Go with KitchenAid. Maytag dishwashers suck too. My nice, working KitchenAid dishwasher is sitting in basement. But it's white, so doesn't match. But I never had a problem with my KitchenAid fridge or dishwasher. Kenmore oven died, that's why I replaced everything. Wrong choice...

Quality issues: Microwave cover/front panel is cheap, loose, and I had to do some customization to get it to quit falling off. We like the two-drawer dishwasher, but found it constantly needs adjustments to keep the lower drawer from dragging on the floor, and almost always have to run a max clean setting or re-wash when drawers are full. Over so far is great. Cooktop is great, but the nobs squeak now after just 8 months of use. The refrigerator is our biggest issue… constantly makes excessive motor/fan noise, door/drawer trim constantly falls off, or jams up… Doors don’t align well, and don’t stay aligned.

Service issues: The biggest joke ever! Tried for 8 months to get someone our here “AT MY COST even”, to give all these appliances a full re-build, inspection, and/or confirmation that they were installed/assembled correctly. We were leery of buying a $4,000 refrigerator for the same reasons people are advised not to buy a Jaguar - frequent problems, expensive parts and service. Well, we bought it because it could be built to fit in the design of our new kitchen. Two days ago, we noticed a pool of water had begun to make it's way across the floor. We called and were told the next available service appointment was February 8th, 19 days away.

Problem is, we sold our house and are leaving in 4 days, moving out of state. Fisher gave us the name of a subcontractor repairman. We waited two days for an appointment with him. He just left and said the refrigerator was installed incorrectly to begin with and now needs a part that should have been used in the first place. That part will not be available for 5 days, the day after we move out of state. Long story made short is, in 64 years, I have never had a refrigerator break down and leak. Never. During a full kitchen renovation we needed a fridge of unusual dimensions. Fisher & Paykel had one that would fit and so we decided for aesthetics we would purchase the same brand for the induction range. It’s an expensive decision that we came to regret. Within a few months, we realized the oven wasn’t achieving the temperature it was set at and constantly ran up to 30F below the temp showing on the display. After the second call, maybe the third, we were told that we’d have to learn to mentally calculate what temperature to set the oven to depending on what we were cooking. $5000 for an oven that was less predictable than a much less expensive unit.

The induction cooktop was really good, efficient, no problems but after the fourth service call, several parts replaced and eventually 6 weeks without an oven or cooktop because the temperature control failed spectacularly and the entire range had to be disconnected over Christmas while the parts were on back order, it was eventually repaired successfully, but it required an entire new motherboard and sensor, and two years of aggravation. For this reason, I will never again buy anything from Fisher & Paykel.

Towels are also very slow - several hours, but they do eventually get there. To do your washing takes a whole day with the endless problems - untangling sheets and re-running the cycle. Plus there is zero customer support. *If* you can get through, you get some poor chap who doesn't speak English well and he cannot help you. Hopeless. I have been a loyal F&P customer for 30+ years but will never buy another appliance from them. My advice.. READ THE USER MANUAL. You can break things if you don't know how to use them. Clean them when required. Clean the filters (no matter what you buy). The brand is super reliable and well designed. My dual drawer dishwasher I put in 10 years ago is working perfectly and I have never serviced it. I really didn't want to spend $2K on a fridge but I didn’t have much choice if I wanted a bottom freezer compartment. The original unit had a condenser issue and it whined all the time in a hi frequency. They replaced the unit after a few weeks. That was about 4 years ago.

A few months ago, I noticed the "fingerprint protection" film was coming off the doors. I had never used any cleaning agents, just soft damp cloths to clean the fridge. That was months ago... I contacted F&P and created a trouble ticket. I didn't hear anything back. So, another call to F&P. Then they asked for images, which I sent them. Then waited and waited. I called again saying I hadn't rec'd a reply. I was told the images had been sent to the wrong dept, and they were now sent to the correct dept. I waited and waited.

Today, called them back AGAIN. This time I was told my request was denied (I had to call them to get this info) because I lived a couple miles from the ocean and the salt water in the air voided my issue. Interesting as all my other appliances are fingerprint resistant stainless steel (not F&P brand), and only this unit has the issue, so I call BS on this. So now I'm stuck with a unit that looks like crap, with the doors peeling. The bedding ends up in complete knots each time so they never dry. The bedding takes over 3 hours to dry due to the constant knots and you have to keep taking it out and unknot it all which due to me having a spinal fusion is extremely difficult.

I sent a pile of videos and photos to F & P and asked for a refund but they insisted on replacement only with the exact same model. This model is still doing the same thing plus also has the loudest squeaking noise when drying. I have numerous pictures of the knotted bedding. The last lot I had to actually get my neighbour to help as it was knotted up so badly, they were so shocked a dryer worth over $1500 can be that bad. I've contacted F&P constantly but they do not respond to any emails at all.

We have an F&P double dish draw. The top draw started to have an error message mid wash - U6. The bottom draw worked perfectly. It took 2 weeks to get a service appointment after being cut off on the phone twice. They came this morning and replaced a water valve but confirmed the bottom draw was in perfect working order. $180 later, valve replaced and told all good. Load the dish draw tonight after dinner and go to turn on. No power to either draw. I think the service tech must have turned off at the power point. No it is on. We connect to another power source. Still no power. I call F and P after hours number. Eventually a very unhelpful and non caring Leah tells me the earliest appointment to attend is Monday next week.

We have Christmas at our home this weekend and cannot be without a dishwasher. Surely we would be a priority as it was working before they attended. I was put on hold abruptly for 12 minutes, and then had another staff member say that there would be no refund and I had to have a booking for the new problem. They would try for tomorrow but no guarantee. I now have to take a second day off work, have no dishwasher at all for the Christmas party, and if I am lucky I might not have to pay for them to fix their own mistake. Shame shame shame on you F&P. And a little empathy and customer service training would not go astray. Also I do expect a refund for your technician mistake that has cost me. Very unhappy.

The technician said the magnets were too strong. You may want to check the pressure it takes to open the door because you can take out some magnets. It costs about $150-$170 Cdn to replace (parts and labour past warranty period). Here are the two old handles of our old fridge which is now in the basement. We are on our third handle and I open it by pulling on the top of the door.

"You might as well stay here because when this oven goes out within a week or so, as before, you will be here ready to fix it." We rarely cook or use the oven but mystery of mysteries when the first part went out then there was a second and a third part strangely out of order. All within a very short period of time. One replacement part never did work. Bad enough waiting on hold for the New Zealand customer service department and being told there was no record of past service calls. Don't bother trying to explain or negotiate a free service call or part replacement cause it ain't gonna happen. NOT A HAPPY EXPERIENCE.

I love this fridge, very sleek design, bought it for the quality and light stainless steel look. However, the original door had a dent in it and that is where it all started. It took 4 months for the service centre to replace it, only to be a different quality stainless, visibly darker shade/lower quality stainless (rough to the touch) than the original. Now I have a brand new kitchen with a horribly looking fridge. Almost a year later, I have to constantly follow up with FP customer service, who promised me a call back which never happens. This is how you ruin a perfectly great brand by horrible customer service.

Stay far from this product and if you're in Canada stay away from Trail appliances in Edmond's Fine Appliances. They said all this is normal. If you have kids definitely stay away from this. If not blowing up your home is important to you, purchase any other oven. One built by your child may be safer. We had their own representatives into our house over 5 times during the first year of purchase. On one occasion they left a gas leak and then had to rush back to repair it. They would not purchase it back but worse, they wouldn't give us a new oven. The flame routinely goes out in the oven, so something will be baking and all of a sudden, it is not. This creates a new type of cooking anxiety I never imagined. Can't thank you enough F&P!

I finally took the time to write this today as I turned off a burner on the range and though the knob was often, the flame continued. The fire was on for 20 minutes before my wife smelled the smoke coming from the pan. My name is Alan **, I am a real person, and happily alive, regardless of what F&P does, I live in New York City, you can easily find me online (they don't let you put your email address in). I have waited 5 weeks for a tech to repair my gas cook top and have been given the run around with the customer "service " team all this time. Firstly, they gave me the phone number of a tech to ring and organise the repair of this warranty claim myself. He was not very helpful at all and after days of correspondence he told me that he doesn't service my suburb.

Two weeks after my first call, I called again and they put me onto another tech, that I also had to call myself and arrange the repair. He told me that if I was willing to pay the travel time he would repair my unit but didn't normally cover my suburb, I told him to liaise with F&P as they would be responsible for this. He was quite helpful over a period of days and was liaising with F&P but when he actually determined that he couldn't fix the issue and a F&P tech needed to be utilised he told me that F&P would be in touch to organise a time and date.

Another 2 weeks passed and I had heard nothing from F&P so I rang the "customer service" line again this Monday (4 weeks from the initial call), to see what was happening. The customer service representative told me that my job had been booked in for this coming Wednesday and to expect a technician between 7:00am and 5:00pm. I was astounded that nobody from F&P had contacted me prior, in regards to this booking, ok I was grateful that somebody was actually going to turn up!

I took the day off work on the Wednesday (yesterday) and at 3-00pm I rang the customer service line yet again to see if the technician was going to turn up. Bearing in mind that every time you ring this line you are on hold and listening to the most annoying tone anywhere from 25 - 45 minutes. I finally got connected to a very nice customer service representative who was very apologetic and told me that my job had not been booked in, quite contrary to what I was told on Monday! Imagine my disbelief! She put me on hold and contacted a tech who said he knew nothing about the job but did have the required part arrive at his place today and didn't know who it was for!!! That doesn't sound right!

Anyway I kept my cool and they stated that the tech would attend to my job this morning before lunchtime. At 1-00pm I rang the Customer service line again and was on hold for 45 mins and when I got through they told me that my job was not booked in and I would not get a technician to my place today. I asked to speak to the manager who conveniently wasn't available and I won't hold my breath in the hope that they call me back this afternoon to get this rectified. Very, very, very poor service in relation to warranty claims.

Sometimes it would shut off within seconds, other times during a cycle and so there would not be any warning, I would just come around the corner and see the light flashing and know that it had shut itself off. F&P suggested I contact the nearest authorized service tech. I had to explain, to 3 different people, (even sent a map) that the person they were recommending was a 10 hour drive, with a 2 hour ferry ride.

I finally found a local person who is willing to look at my range but only if he can obtain a service manual so he can look the product over first, before coming out. Fisher & Paykel say only "authorized" people can have a copy. This person is willing to fix my range and they won't let him. Now a new problem appeared today. I suddenly have 2 elements not operating. There is an error code coming up, on the 2 elements on the same side, even though I am only trying to turn 1 of them on. Customer service has basically said "oh well," and has refused to replace the knobs. After replacing all the shelving I certainly won’t pay for new knobs too. The customer service in New Zealand is certainly not what we are used to in the U.S. For the price of this range, they should stand behind their products unconditionally. I lost my home to a hurricane and decided to rethink refrigeration and dishwashers due to space. The appliance companies that my builder uses carries this brand but mentioned not many people have ordered them so they had no feedback. Searching the web, I found few brands that had “drawers” for refrigerators or dishwashers. So I ordered two drawer dishwashers and one integrated cool drawer from this company. Granted I have had them installed a month so I have had no product issues yet. But the integrated cool drawer indicated in the installation guide that there was a “false” panel for the bottom chassis of the unit (otherwise the bottom portion of the unit was exposes the compressor unit). The stainless steel drawer door was wonderful but then you see the compressor. My builder thought there should of been a stainless steel cover for the compressor. Me too.

After three months of me initiating phone conversations, 4 different tech representatives, numerous emails (some said they had a cover to send me, some said they would check), I got ahold of Chana. I personally loved their Australian accents, but Chana’s tone of voice made it clear that even though she was told a black panel was available, she talked to her technical team again and there was no panel available.

A false panel, as indicated in the installation guide, needs to be to the specifications of your cabinetry. It is to be built by the carpentry people and most builders understand that terminology. Even though the website isn’t clear and the installation guide isn’t clear that no panel is provided and you will need to build one, she became more frustrated with me when I asked if there were other solutions that her company could provide. Can I buy that black panel? Can we please double check the materials list to make sure there is nothing in there about an aftermarket piece?

As an end user, not a builder or installer, false panels are not in my everyday vocabulary. Chana made me feel as though it should of been. My sadness about this situation is not about the fact that I have to go back to builder after three months to have more cabinetry work done but the fact that I had to keep following up for an answer over a three month period and I was talked to as if I should of known better. Like the title implies - I think the products are good just not their approach to treating customers after the fact. That is why they didn’t get a higher rating. The true test that differentiates a good company from a great one is how they treat the customer not only before the sale but afterwards.

My Fisher & Paykel dual fuel (gas top/electric oven) is by far the worst appliance I have ever purchased. From day one after the installation, the oven wouldn't work properly because of, what I later learned, is a PLASTIC lock which came broken. Without this lock, the sensor believes that the oven door is open and the oven won't work correctly. According to the technician, this lock breaks frequently, and he mentions he doesn't understand why a piece so important is made of plastic.

The technician comes back with the part to fix the issue, but when he puts the oven all back together, it seemed that the oven door was no longer centered in place. He said that it should not be a problem, after all, the oven was now working. Although I thought it was a very poor customer service response for an appliance so expensive, I decided to bite the bullet, as I had spent too long without an oven. Despite my compromise, a week after this repair the door completely sunk to one side. As a result, the oven was again non-operational. Another technician comes, this time to tell me that the door hinge had an issue. He didn't have the spare part, so I go another month without an oven.

At the day scheduled for the technician to come to install the new hinge, he missed the appointment, allegedly because previous appointments that ran late. So now I have at least 3 more weeks with no oven until he can come again. After weeks, the technician is back. He installs the new hinge, and of course, the door is again not centered. The oven doesn't work properly, because, without a centered door, the locking mechanism doesn't work well. Interestingly enough, he insists that everything is fine, and tells me that the lock is only used for the oven self-clean function, which I should never use because everyone who uses it requests a repair right after due to oven parts that get burned and makes the oven malfunction.

Interesting to know that the oven is even worse than I thought, and that the self-clean feature is unusable. But back to my case, even though the lock is not essential, it affects how the door open and closes, and the oven does not work well without everything centered and in place. His answer: "I can't do anything about it." Now I call Fisher & Paykel to complain, and their solution? To send another technician. I'm now nearly one year without an oven. I simply can't bake anything. So my advice to all of you considering to buy a Fisher & Paykel appliance, believe the bad reviews and stay away from it. I was one of those who thought "no, it can't be that poorly made at such a high price tag." Well, it is, and its customer service is just as bad.

To be sure that we weren’t adding too much bleach, we have only filled the bleach dispenser half full and diluted it with water to the fill mark. We are about to throw this washer out and get a different one. Another thing we don’t like is that you can’t fill the tub with enough water to just soak things.

The lid lock activates during the deep rinse cycle, the reason I was told was because a child drowned in the w/machine. BTW the lid lock does not activate during the wash cycle. I contacted Fisher Paykel and after MANY calls (when they did return my calls), they concluded that I needed to turn the reversible drum off as that was causing issues on these units. I did so, and continued to have the same issues. After going back and forth, Fisher Paykel said there was nothing more they could do. They didn't even send out one of their techs to look at it. So, $700 later and using the dryer for 2 1/2 years, I'm out! I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM FISHER PAYKEL AGAIN!! SHAME ON YOU!!

I have a bottom mount freezer drawer that cannot open but a few inches. Getting through to customer service has been fraught with games of long hold times, getting disconnected when I ask for a supervisor or info on my repair. As I am in the United States, there is no local customer service. All calls are routed to New Zealand. Emails are ignored. My call records get "lost". Nothing on the "record" anymore. "We have no log of your inquiry." Calls to their authorized local repair company go unanswered. A second local company warned me that it would a long time until it can get fixed because they too cannot get through to F&P or their techs or get a hold of the parts. Complete frustration.

After reading only some of the reviews here, it seems to be a common complaint. Nice looking product but it means absolutely nothing if it cannot function. No company is perfect and I expect hiccups but the run-around here is incredible. My only recourse is to start recording my conversations with the false promises I am given along with posting a review video on social media showing the drawer problems. My hope is to discourage anyone from buying an F&P appliance as the service when needed (and it will be needed) is absolute garbage. It should not be this difficult to get adequate service.

I have experimented with different dishwasher soaps, loading methods, rinse/wash cycles but I simply cannot get my dishes clean. I have had an ancient dishwasher previously with no issues; switched to this brand and it leaves food particles on dishes, cloudiness on my glasses and grease sitting in the bottom of the unit. So after 2 weeks we made contact again and since then it has been impossible to get through. I cannot contact the service person directly, have to go through the customer service who do not answer the phone, cut you off and just respond to computer prompts. All they can do is rebook visits. I have owned a F&P double dishwasher for 7 years. Approximately 6 months ago, the machine began to leak on the top level and the dishes were not clean on the bottom. I looked on the F&P website and found the information for several nearby repairmen. I contacted the first person and he came to check the machine. He charged $80 to look at it & stated that he needed to order a part. We called him several times in the next few weeks, but he said the part was not in. After a few more calls, we gave up and called a 2nd repair from the list. Unfortunately, we had the same experience (and paying $143) - after calling 3 or 4 times, the repairman never returned our call.

I called F&P customer service and explained what happened. The customer service person gave us another repair shop to call and stated that F&P would likely reimburse us for the "house call" fees, which was now over $200 with no repairs done. The new company that we called stated that they only fix machines that they have sold & that F&P should NOT have given out their information. I called back and got yet another name, which, thankfully turned out to be legitimate. Our machine was finally fixed (at a cost of $372). My dissatisfaction is with the referring of several repair companies who clearly could not fix our machine, and paying money for no service. When I contacted F&P about the events above, I was told that they would NOT reimburse me the "house call" money. I assure you that I would not purchase another of their products!

Fisher Paykel DCS Counter Depth Refrigerator - I am absolutely BEYOND frustrated with this brand! Since last October I have had no less than eight, EIGHT, service calls to sort out why my ice maker drops ice cubes into the receptacle below that are freeze together. The ice that comes out of the cube tray is not frozen fully...therefore it becomes a big lump in my freezer. In order to get ice, we have to stab at it with a big knife. NOT SAFE to say the least. I have had two repair companies come to the house. They've called FP techs while at my house to go over the issue. The tech's advice this last time was to adjust the temperature. (Or to tell me I don't close the freezer door...sorry on that one...it ain’t the problem or I would have had this issue all along.) I also don't overload my refrigerator or freezer door.

It's not my first rodeo with an upscale appliance. If I could, I would dump this lemon on the sidewalk. But since my fridge surround was built for it...I am stuck. I have held back my comments for months, but as of yesterday, I am not doing that any longer. I have listened in to the FP Tech calls to the repairman. The first tech was so incredibly rude and insulting I wanted to take the phone from the poor repair guy and give him a piece of my mind. The second tech said, “Oh, just adjust the temp to a warmer temp,” Really? (Why is he a tech?) Did he not understand that the ice is NOT FROZEN all the way when it drops into the bin? The icemaker was replaced fully several visits ago...it's something else and frankly, I don't believe for a quick second that it's something the tech guys has never heard of before.

I'm not a repairman, I am a consumer. A very smart consumer that knows the buck is being passed. I paid $600 for an extended warranty on this unit. I expect the darn thing to work properly. If it cannot be repaired the FP needs to come forward and deliver a new one to me. I will simply not buy, nor ever recommend, this brand again. I would be disingenuous. If no one can repair it, not even the trained FP guys with the tech on the phone...I have no faith. Zero. So sad.

2 yr old Fisher Paykel Dryer - We purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer many years ago that worked great and never needed repair. When we downsized we sold it with our home. We purchased a new FP washer and dryer when we moved to our Condo. Our new dryer stopped working on December 28, 2017. Electronic Motherboard burned out. Was only several months out of warranty. I was told when I called FP Customer Care that because it was only a few months out of Warranty they might refund the service charge (I think this kind of thing must happen often and they want to keep their customers happy). I went to FP Website which works well to locate qualified local service companies. They scheduled me within a week. Aside from being annoyed at the inconvenience of not having the use of my dryer over holidays, things went well in the beginning.

Local Service Tech came out on January 2, 2018 with the correct part and repaired quickly. Because it was no longer under warranty I paid $258 for the part and service. I contacted the US Customer Service number that is in New Zealand, not in the US. I emailed them the Original Purchase and Repair receipts. I was finally sent an email with a CASE AUTHORITY NO. ** on January 26. I was told that the service company would refund my money. Turns out that was incorrect information. After another 12 phone calls (it turn out some were made to me from Customer Support using a local New Zealand phone number and, because I redialed in error, I now owe $84 to AT&T for 20 minutes in International charges) I was assured more than once since receiving the CASE AUTHORITY NO. ** on January 26 that a check would be sent within 7-10 business days.

No one in Customer Support seems to know how this check will be issued or how it will be sent. Several times one of those I talked to put me on hold to consult with a supervisor. There were many excuses. I was told that the check couldn't be issued through their new system or it was being updated or the order for refund had been sent to the wrong department. It is now March 14, 2018. I will be calling again today. I should be billing them for MY time spent and the International phone calls made in error. (In all my years as a homeowner or in business I have never made International phone calls when calling Customer Service. Sometimes to India or Philippines etc. Who would have thought Customer Service would use a local phone number.) I have reached the end of my patience here. To be continued.

I ordered a refrigerator part after speaking to a customer service representative from them 3 months ago, was assured it would be the right part and when it arrived it was not. I called customer care and they admitted fault and told me I would receive a full refund and didn't have to return the part. This is great except for the fact that I STILL haven't received my refund. It's been 3 months of back and forth with their customer care, them telling me that I do have the refund and to call my bank if there's an issue. I've called my bank, I've checked my statements over and over. I 100% have not received a refund from them.

I have been nothing but patient and polite during this entire process - and now they have stopped answering my emails. I've even asked for proof of the refund and they would not provide me with one. They are crooks and liars. The only good thing out of this whole situation is at the time I bought the product it was for a rental property so the fridge wasn't actually mine. I would NEVER buy anything from Fisher Paykel again and I would advise you to do the same. They have handled this situation extremely poorly and I am tired of wasting my time chasing them to try and get a refund that they admitted is rightfully owed to me.

I must be one of the few to have a positive experience with F&P. We purchased a washer/dryer set in 2003. We still have the dryer but are on our second GWL11 washer. The first one lasted 10 years. In that time it was subjected to hard water and a family of four. The pump is definitely the weak link, as I replaced at least two in that time. Also had to replace a water inlet valve. The new pumps come with a inline fuse to install on the harness to the controller to prevent it from getting ruined if the pump shorts out. None of the repairs were done in warranty. F&P washers are very easy to diagnose and repair so I have been able to do all my repairs. After too many large loads and 10 years of hard water the strut rods that keep the drum in balance wore out. I found a super clean GWL11 for $80 on CL to replace it. We now have a water softener so this machine stays cleaner and cleans more efficiently.

I saved parts off the old machine for future repairs. I did change the pump not long after I got it. Now three years later that used pump went out, this time the windings shorted out, taking the controller with it. I blew off installing the inline fuse, so this could of easily been prevented. I bought a new pump for $110 and installed my used controller and it's running just fine again. I know this all sounds like a nightmare of repairs, but if you are able to be a little bit inclined to take on a challenge you can save a lot of money on paying the repair person. I don't have a lot of money laying around to buy new appliances every few years. From the reviews I read, many new high efficiency washers don't clean well and are repair prone. When I do break down and buy a new one sometime in the future, I will definitely consider F&P again, along with Speed Queen.

My contractors correctly installed the dishwasher and from the beginning, there were large pools of water at the bottom of the top drawer. Five service calls later and a call to (I use the term hesitantly) FP's customer service department, my dishwasher was supposedly fixed. Each time the repairman came, he found something he thought was causing the issue. When I spoke to customer service, they told me my contractors did not install the dishwasher correctly. I had my contractors come back to ensure they installed it correctly (this was confirmed by the repairman). Customer service refused to do anything for me (this was after waiting on hold for 45 minutes).

My dishwasher no longer has pools of water on the bottom; however, the dishes are NEVER clean and I basically have to wash dishes by hand before putting them in the dishwasher. I called the appliance store where I purchased the dishwashers a number of months ago to again complain about the dishwasher. The salesman said he would follow up with FP. I again followed up with the salesman a few weeks later and again, nothing was done. I would never purchase a FP product again. I am now looking for a new dishwasher. The experience has been horrible and very frustrating. I would never recommend anyone purchase this product.

On the dryer I have replaced the plastic knob and the inside of the dryer is all cracked and peeling. I have had my water checked but these are the only appliances with a problem. Quality of plastic parts below zero. My Miele dishwasher is fine. I called F & P and the customer service rep suggested that I use harsh detergents, but I just use All detergent. No help. Fisher and Paykel make good products. The reason why I had to finally contact their service department was because after 17 years of faithful service, early in May of this year our washing machine lid broke a hinge. So I contacted them, provided make, model and serial number and a description of the fault. On 31st May their serviceman came. He had no knowledge of the make, model and serial number or the fault, so had no parts with him to effect a repair, but nevertheless charged us $125 and said he would be back within the week. We haven't seen him since. Three weeks elapsed. I rang F & P's 24/7 line and asked politely what was going on. They said they had contacted their parts depot and they would get back to me within the week with an ETA for the lid and the serviceman. They did not do this.

Finally on Wednesday I rang them again and intimated in no uncertain terms that I was extremely annoyed with the situation. They told me that the serviceman would get back to me that afternoon. They lied. He hasn't. So I am drawn to the reluctant conclusion that this company's after-sales service department is staffed by a bunch of people whose sole reason for going to work is to get paid, and employs tradespeople of a similar mindset. My recommendation? Do not buy Fisher and Paykel - their products are fine, but if they break down they will not service them, and they will charge you for the privilege of not servicing them.

Both ovens broke after self cleaning. I used one of the service providers on the website after calling quite a few which did not service Fisher Paykel. They came out numerous times with various parts and were only able to fix one. I tried other service providers but none service this brand. After months of back and forth with the service provider to settle on an amount since it wasn't able to be fixed and then Fisher Paykel, the best Fisher Paykel could offer was for me to buy a new oven at a discount of $3500. Fisher Paykel even admitted on the phone that they knew that self cleaning had this kind of results. I don't understand how they could expect me to spend that kind of money to replace an item they admit has defects. My advice is to stay far away from this company with no real customer service.

After 6 weeks of back and forth with the company giving me misinformation and every employee telling me different things to do and making me in charge of lining up appliance service with 4 days needed off of work that resulted in them not replacing a bad refrigerator but saying they would repair. The wheels were also broken with the services which ruined my floor and once they replace the refrigerator they will not guarantee. They do a typical customer service routine, but could care less about the actual customer. My next home would never have their appliances.

I've had Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart Washing Machine Model Number WL26CW1 for approximately 7 years now and there has been big trouble. After the 2 year warranty expired it started to have problems. I contacted F&P and a repairman came out within a couple days. He determined that the washer needed a new circuit board (brain) which he would have to order. It took about 6 weeks to get the new brain and have it installed at a cost of almost $250 US.

One and a half years after the new brain was installed the machine developed a new problem with the LCD display which is located on the circuit board (brain). Sometimes the LCD display cannot be viewed, nothing shows up in the window. Other times it works fine or it will show the wash selections in a faint image to which I can make a selection. The times that the wash selections are not visible I just count off the selections until I reach the one that I want (yes, I've memorized them) and the washer will engage and work.

However, at the end of any wash cycle instead of stopping the selected wash cycle starts all over and will continue to run over and over and over until I intervene and turn the machine off. I've been doing this now for almost 4 years. I refuse to pay another $250 US plus to buy another new brain (circuit board) and don't want to buy a new washing machine until this F&P money drain totally craps out.

I am expressing my concern and frustration with Fisher Paykel. I lodged call on the 6/3/2017 as my Fisher Paykel washing machine MW513 was leaking. I did a number of tests to see where the water was coming from and it all directed back to the washing machine. When the washing machine was on high (with clothes in it), it would start leaking from the washing to rinse cycle onwards. (this was clarified to Fisher Paykel on my phone call). When they had initially sent someone out here there was a lot of mucking around and the technician was meant to come on Friday 10/3/2017, he ended going to the wrong place and cancelling my job, which then led to a series of mistakes on FP end. This led to a number of phone calls and a lot of time out from work to rectify their mistake.

They then had to send a new technician the following week (16/03/2017), whereby my mum was here and explained and showed the technician the photos and his response to her was when we "wash the clothes on high place the same amount of clothes to the equivalent amount of water and do the cycle." When he conducted his tests there was no water leaking, as he never tried it with the clothes inside. He then cut the pipe shorter as he advised my mum it was too long. He then left for the next job. I came home and did exactly what he said (also advised in his job summary report to me) and again, the leakage started. I then called FP and advised what occurred and what the tech said to my mum.

Over the phone they were going to take over 1.5 weeks to come and service my machine when I also advised that a small tile was starting to lift and causing water damage. The after-hours lady told me to call back the next business day as she couldn't do anything about it but could only book the appointment in. I called back the next day and advised the same thing, to which the gentlemen said he will make this a high priority (again to no avail and to a number of mistakes where they had a dryer to service instead of washing machine). A number of calls later and a different tech guy came out on the 22/3/2017. When he came I was here and advised him all of the above and advised for him to see the photos which he never wanted to and stated he "believed me". He ran two water tests on high and no leakage happened (these were fast tracked from filling up the washing machine to the spin cycle, missing the washing rinse part).

I did state to him that the leak ONLY happens when the water and clothes are in the machine and set on high. He still never put any clothes in. His advice to me was to "wash my clothes on medium or low and the splash backs will not occur." If that was the case what is the relevance of buying a washing machine to only put the machine on medium and low? After he had left I called the customer service line 22/3/2017 (as clearly I was disappointed, stressed and upset), to which the customer service boy was very rude and basically stated that I am lying. The reason being is I advised him what happened and that I had photos of this and his response was "anyone can take a photo and pretend their washing machine is leaking." I do not believe this is the way to address someone who is already stressed out that her apartment is going to flood and cause damage to below / surrounding apartments, as well as my own.

I was then told by the same person to wash my clothes again and video it. I said "I am a woman and I cannot lift the washing machine as it is heavy and you are now asking me to have the same leak occur and for me to clean up the mess yet again?" His response was like "yeah." What kind of people are they employing and how can they even think of treating their customers like this and getting away with it? I have already taken numerous time of out of work and constantly have to watch the machine when I wash.

I didn't buy this washing machine so I can only place it on a certain level. It is under one years old and only until this year March, the problem occurred. There was no other history and when I made these complaints, it was indirectly stated back to me that nothing is wrong and I felt they thought I did know what I was talking about (deeming as I am woman). But, as my mum and my friend had witnessed, the water was coming from the machine. I will not be breaking my back lifting and cleaning again.

I also asked a few times if I can get a cash settlement back and to speak to a team leader (none of which was done or considered at the time of the calls). The reason being is so I can buy a more reliable machine and can wash my clothes on high. I have uploaded photos and receipt of when I purchased the washing machine. I would like to be able to either get a reimbursement for the machine or a better quality machine, as I am wasting heaps of money on water bills. This by far, is the worst customer service I have ever received and do not advise anyone to purchase their products.

Refrigerator model #E522BLX - I bought this fridge 4 years ago from SEARS Canada because my 35 year old never repaired Amana fridge suddenly broke down. I had a problem finding a fridge that would fit in the space built around the Amana and wasn't in a position to renovate the kitchen to accommodate a new fridge. I didn't know anything about the Fisher Paykel brand, and unfortunately, relied on the Sears appliance specialist's knowledge and honesty.

I was advised that the fridge had a very good 5 year warranty and excellent customer service and Sears would also stand behind the brand should anything go wrong. I bought it because it was the only fridge, at the time, that could fit in the space and I paid about $2,000 for it. Well 2 months ago the fridge started to make a noise that sounded similar to the noise I heard when my Amana fridge broke down. That was related to a compressor problem. The noise has steadily worsened and it's driving me up a wall.

I found out from Sears Canada that they no longer carry the Fisher Paykel brand (I wonder why) and therefore can't provide me with any service. When I contacted the FP customer service # I was directed to someone in New Zealand and I quickly concluded that their so called excellent customer service was totally false. I further learned that the fridge I bought has been discontinued (I wonder why). The extent of their assistance was to provide me with service repair contacts in the U.S. Anyone I contacted in Toronto is unwilling to service the model. It is now Christmas and I am now out of a fridge and $2000. FP doesn't give a damn. Although they did not outwardly admit it but I think they knew that there was an embedded defect with their fridge and therefore discontinued it without advising customers like me.

There should have been a recall notice and offer to replace the model or at least make some effort to repair problems without costing the customer big bucks and aggravation. Do not ever buy anything manufactured by Fisher Paykel. And don't buy any appliance from Sears. Their appliance specialists are not specialists and are trained only to make a sale at the customer's risk. They will not ensure that: 'your satisfaction continues long after your initial purchase'. This is the statement that they include in their brochure.

Since purchased, the oven would heat higher than the required temp and after several tech visits with no results, we decided to live with it, adjusting the temp as we cooked. I did and submitted my claim for A $50 Gift Card which I was to receive within 48 days. When I did not receive it I contacted F&P who advised that they had already sent it, by ordinary mail. I requested F&P to send me another but they did not accept responsibility for the loss as the Gift Card had been redeemed by somebody. It was their decision (based on their internal policy) to send a Gift Card (which is just as good as Cash) by ordinary mail. Note that postage costs $1 for ordinary and $4.80 for registered mail.

I am amazed that an established organization such as F&P acknowledges that they are aware of some issues in recent times where mail has been stolen out of mailboxes but continues to take risks with Gift Cards. They do so knowing very well that it will not be cost-effective for a customer to make a formal claim in a tribunal or court. So when mail gets stolen or lost F&P does not take any responsibility. I have decided that going forward I will not give F&P a single dollar in business because I do not deal with those who are more focused on playing the blame game. F&P may have saved $3.80 in postage but has lost a customer, bought themselves adverse publicity and jeopardised future sales. Good luck to them!

They do not honor their "expressed warranty", nor apologize (until I pointed out that no one had even said sorry), nor offer consequential or incidental damages. What was supposed to be an exciting, joyful purchase has been a living hell. Hopefully, you will be wiser because of my pain.

It was very challenging for Fisher Paykel's customer service to talk with them. They said "we will get back to you" and they never do. I had to call them again and spend so much time on the phone and they don't really care. I never and NEVER buy any Fisher and Paykel product again. My previous fridge was Fujitsu and lasted 20 years without any problem.

I purchased a "Dish Drawer" dishwasher for a kitchen remodel in 2008. I was lured by the fact there are two (2) independent washer units; one on top of the other which allowed flexibility in cleaning as well as potential addition kitchen utensil storage. Troubles began within the first 90-days. I have summoned kitchen appliance repair companies listed as "authorized" by Fisher Paykel numerous times with the last service attendant indicating "there are serious design flaws with the appliance". At this date the following had been experienced: The "bottom" dishwasher unit is completely non-functional, the "touch" wash controls in the operating unit do not work correctly; and now are "stuck" in one washer cycle. I was informed by one of the techs that came out there is a design flaw that allows water to seep into the controls.

For $1,500 for a dishwasher I would have expected more. What is more alarming is the sales rep when I bought the appliance indicated the manufacturer also made "kidney dialysis machines". If this is the case (and my research indicates this is true) there are numerous fatalities if the quality of the dialysis machines is the same as the "Dish Drawer". Do not under any circumstances purchase anything this Company makes. The quality is terrible!!!

After 4 days a Fisher and Paykel service representative arrived, gave the machine a shake and the pump began to work again. Two weeks later, the pump failed again. We now have to wait 6 days to get a service representative for a machine that has been looked after immaculately. Does anyone have had the same experience, and is there a simple remedy?

I purchased a washer and dryer from Lowe's. Within a year both needed service, under warranty. The following year both again needed service, the motor in the washer and the board on the dryer. $600 in repairs. Neither under warranty. I spoke with F&P and they wouldn't assist on the repair. On year three, the dryer went out again. I spoke to F&P and they told me to get a repair estimate and they would aid in the repair. The repairman, the only F&P rep in town, told me the units were junk even though they were on their high end. I called back to F&P with the estimate, $250 + $80 diagnostics, and was told, "you have lemons. That is the nature of the world we live in. Too bad." I trashed the 3 year old units and replaced with something else. Avoid this company. The units are flimsy to say the least.

It took 3 weeks later the service tech came out to fix it after many calls and escalations! Well he was to come from 1-3 pm, he came at 8 PM! And was shocked to see the stove, he was unable to move the stove much less fix it! Well after 2 hours of pulling my new stove apart and struggling to put it back he left with a promise to come back. I called the company and sure no one answered. The distributor was even more evasive. The owner of the store I bought the stove, refused to talk to me. Today being July 4th, we still are unable to cook in the oven and I have no clue when the stove will be fixed.

2009 purchased a Fisher & Paykel washer from Sears. Bought the extended service contract and within the first year the mainboard, the inner tub were replaced. I placed a complaint on this site several years ago and was notified while on vacation concerning my complaint. At first I was confused, caught off guard and shocked that F&P would intervene and take over the complaint and order the correct UPGRADED parts. Sears Tech had no idea were available and ordered the normal routine parts even when I mention the possibility I was ignored. In the end, Sears took all the credit and basically did nothing.

Most reputable companies don't want complaint especially when they are logged with the BBB or Respectfully The Attorney General although some don't care. Brand name, don't mean a thing. It pays to buy cheap and skip the bells and whistles. It doesn't pay for the short time of enjoyment usually a one year warranty if the extended was not purchased and then hear we don't contact when the warranty about to expire. Sears tell lies I was contacted on items out of warranty and they wanted me to renew. As for Fisher & Paykel I should have requested a return after the initial replacement. I thought this company was quality. I was wrong.

I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load.

I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You can't open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends' dish drawers.

I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!

Fisher Paykel washer and dryer. They are from New Zealand I believe. They were fairly low priced for high-efficiency machines and the washer was a top loader AND conserved water (like the front loaders) but for a better cost. The washer drum is floating and is moved with a magnet. No parts rubbing and strap to change. Pretty neat technology. It also has a large capacity allowing bigger loads (and less of them). The dryer is efficient and takes exactly the same amount of time as the washer to wash a load... Perfect timing. The washer has high spin speed which explains why the drying is fairly quick. We have had these machines probably close to 8-10 years now.

Brand reputation is important and we are willing to do some research as we did when we bought the Fisher & Paykel machines. We always look for the best value for our money for products that meet our requirements. We are also willing to wait for the sales. The critiques you read from users are very insightful and we can be turned off if several people have issues with something that we know would bother us too. For example, low quality construction, excessive vibration, too much soap residue, too much time to dry, etc. We are very happy with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer we purchased 8-10 years ago. They are high efficiency, large capacity, top loader (washing machine); making them very user friendly and efficient. I have no regrets even though they don't look as cool as the front loaders but on the other side, I probably paid half the price of the good looking ones and I have the same value.

Didn't hear from the tech after he left so two weeks called as wondered what was happening. Told it would be up to six weeks before the part was manufactured overseas and shipped to Auckland, NZ. This is a New Zealand owned company but we no longer stock the parts!!! F & P rep could not explain why I hadn't heard from them or the tech until I called them. Man of the house insisted on a new machine. Second brand new machine has stopped heating after six weeks. Four towels in a new large 6kg machine resulted in no heat again and we are now waiting again for a tech to come. Have asked for a loan machine but told that F & P don't do this.

Poor rep started to tell me that if they did, they would never have enough to go around but she quickly stopped as she realized what she was saying. Samsung do a loan machine with all of their repairs. Have asked the tech to bring the heat switch with him this time and a spare so that we can fix it ourselves when it goes again lol. First ever Fisher & Paykel appliance and will be the last. Pricing a Samsung today. FYI - Support Centre response is faster from F & P via Twitter as they would prefer no negative feedback on their site. Phone support was abysmal. Have had a Samsung washing machine for two years and never a problem. Samsung also have a two year warranty instead of F & P's 12 months. Lesson learned in our household.

Thankfully 2nds World replaced the machine the next day. 6 weeks later and again, low and behold the same problem occurred. Unfortunately I had to use Fisher & Paykel customer service and what a nightmare! It would have been easier to buy a different brand than put up with the crap they delved out.

According F & P as I use the dryer everyday it's my fault (and no wonder!) the machine broke down! (that was repeated today when I spoke to the company again). Speaking to the lovely technician this problem is happening again and again with this model. But the company will not replace it with more reliable product (the proceeding one DE45F56) but will continue to send out what appears to be a technically faulty machine. What's worse is that it's going to take two weeks to get the machine repaired. WHY? My advice go for older model or even better go for a different brand all together, it's so disappointing!

Have not had problem with them except the bottom one started leaking and the top one smells horribly of mold. I feel it in my lungs every time I breathe in the air after opening the top drawer. I called customer service and spoke to someone from New Zealand (very difficult time understanding her) who said that I should use "let it shine" from Home Depot and run it through a cycle. Well this did not help so now I have to endure this terrible mold smell every time I open the top drawer. After this experience I am very doubtful I would ever buy another fisher paykel product.

And when the top drawer stop working I did not wanted to call the factory service because I thought about the high cost of factory service calls. What a mistake that was. After checking with several local appliance companies I finally located one that said that they did work on Fisher Paykel dishwasher. After three visits during one month and after replacing several parts the serviceman finally gave up and said "I cannot fix it, please call the factory service."

I did send an email to Fisher Paykel service department and I received an immediate response confirming my request and 2 days later the service call was confirmed. The friendly service man arrived early (something very unusual for servicemen). It took one look at the dishwasher, did a five-minute software diagnostic, remove the front cover of the top dishwasher and point at the control box and said that is what is wrong. One small plastic tab of the control box was broken and the box was loose.

He explained that because the age of the dishwasher the plastic becomes brittle and started to break. Gave me the price of the new box, very reasonable and mentioned he had one on his truck. He went ahead to get the new box. Close the cover, tested the dishwasher and he was out to the next service call in 20 minutes. It cost me $330 for a job well done. Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer over icing around the fan area on the rear panel. In memory all that was fixed was the rear panel. The fan cover/vent was not even replaced and was left without one. I don't believe anything was done about the over icing of the back fan area. Then in late September 15 my customer reports the freezer is still defrosting intermittently throughout the many months, but only occasionally.

So in September your serviceman visits and says "it's the door hinge/latch not closing properly causing the light to come on and thus defrosting the freezer". So he fixes it, then the problem continues. So then he orders new hinge latch parts and replaces it and the problem continues. Meanwhile the month and another month has gone by where my customer has a freezer which is defrosting all her food. Food is expensive and she has 6 children and is pregnant. So by now I have spoken to management in your service department a several times to discuss a fast solution. To be informed nothing can be done except send another service man out to fix it.

I requested a different serviceman as he has not been able to fix the problem, always stating it is the door hinge/latch. I think he has been there 5 times now. Your management team advises me the serviceman is the person who decides if the fridge can be fixed or not. If he states it can't then the item will be replaced or refunded. (The technician states he is not allowed to report it can't be fixed. He HAS to fix it!!!) So now we are in December the heat is coming in, xmas food needs cooling and the fridge is not keeping the food cold enough either.

The lady is pregnant and concerned she may get sick from food/dairy that is not being cooled effectively. So last week I asked management to send another technician. They said this was not possible but they will instruct the technician to ring the service team to discuss the fridge while he was there, to insure the fridge was assessed correctly. To ensure this was going to happen I, the manager of the appliance rental company, attended todays visit to hopefully finalise this ongoing saga. The technician immediately commented on the hinge/latch again.

I reported to him that the new parts he replaced did not fix the freezer door coming ajar when the fridge door closed, because I myself checked the problem the very evening he fixed it. And the problem was not any better. I advised of him having to ring the service team while we were all present. He said he had no instruction to do so. But he did, which was a waste of time because your phone service consistently takes close to an hour to speak to someone. I know because I have had to ring this department many times now.

So I communicated I don't believe the door is the initial issue. It may be now as it has been tampered with a few times to fix it. Much to his frustration he started to investigate into the freezer. Oh he reports the fan has been intermittently turning off/ not working, therefore this would defrost the fridge slightly and intermittently. I looked in and the fan area, behind the rear panel was solidly blocked with ice, preventing the fan to turn even if it did work intermittently. He says "that's ok we will just order all these parts and replace them in a few weeks".

When the fan was reported faulty/broken I believe this was the cause of the very first problem back in October 14 and explains why the freezer has been intermittently defrosting. Your technician said it himself. MEANWHILE the lady is losing all her food (which is expensive), the heat is upon us and christmas is here. AND WE ARE STILL WAITING for a fridge to be working. The lady also wants to be reimbursed for food expenses as her patience has also run out. Initially I wanted the fridge replaced. Now after months of ineffective service, I am expecting a refund as it would be bad business to purchase/rent any of Fisher and Paykel appliances simply due to your warranty service procedures.

So what to do now? As it is now heading into the 4th month and I think the 5th visit to fix this fridge, and it is still not fixed, I have no more patience. I will not be ringing anymore to be told all you can do is send the technician out again, to assess and fix it. This seems to be the solution even when the fridge is not being fixed. Please consider this email as a formal complaint to be forwarded to the relevant department. Please also be informed I will be sending this email to Consumer Affairs and providing feedback on Fisher and Paykel's Facebook on the very poor warranty service provided by your team.

I have been continually bumped to alternative team members whom contradict what can be done about FIXING this fridge. I am an appliance rental company whom purchases a lot of appliances. Under no circumstances will I purchase another appliance manufactured by Fisher & Paykel. I will also be informing the 110 franchisees of the ineffective warranty service your company provides. In our business warranty work costs us time, money and sales!
