American Standard Walk-in Showers Reviews

Just needed to voice my opinion on American Standard Walk-in Showers. My husband made an appointment a week ago for them to come and give us an estimate (4/7/26) between the hours of 1-2 pm. It is now ten of four and they never showed up or called. Sent a message to them and have not gotten a response. I for one will NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Please don’t go with this company. We had two bathrooms done by them. It was a big mistake. The first time I used the shower I slipped and hurt my back and it was very difficult to get out. As per the company their pans are non slip. WHICH IS NOT TRUE. The second time I used I slipped again. For us it is money down the drain.

This has been a terrible experience. We had our shower installed in January and the installer was very rude and did a crappy install. The ceiling part was cut wrong and sticks out, The seat he screwed in too tight so it bent the brackets, Shower head dripping after being shut off which it still does, cover to faucet seems to be broke. He used a ton of silicon, Never sealed on the outside to the floor, Didn't clean the place well. Now they did send someone out to fix the seat, The shower head and they paid to have our house cleaned but I had to set all that up and pay out of my own pocket for the cleaning and wait for reimbursement which took a while.

Do not hire these people! After purchasing the walk in shower June 30, wasn't installed to mid July after a week developed stains on the floor of the shower along with a sinking of the floor around the center drain, called the service number. They said the tech would be over when in the area, I live in northeast Mass. The tech would be over when he was in the area he was based in Conn. it was two weeks, he took pictures of the problem. Said he was going on vacation for two weeks, called after two weeks. The service person I talked to wanted more pictures. I sent more pics. Tried calling her this week (9/6/25). Said she was on vacation the previous week, would get to me when she got caught up. Haven't heard from her, (9/12/25). Biggest mistake I've ever made hiring these people, should have gone locally, shame on me.

Had a presentation done and I bought a tub to shower for 16+ k. Yea I know. But you get a lifetime warranty, licensed installers and a company that manufactures the parts. They have 10 year finance for 8.9% and my payments are 114 per month. You can buy cheaper if you pay cash but if you buy on time this is the company for people with good credit. Just sayin. I will update my review in 6 months.

I first heard about American Standard while doing a Google search for walk-in showers. My initial plan was to get presentations from multiple companies, but after Jeff's presentation, we decided to go with American Standard. Jeff was professional and down-to-earth, which really impressed us.

Two months ago, the walk-in shower was installed in my house in **. I would like to start with presentation which was given by salesperson. I had conversations on this matter with six different companies and the American Standard presentation was the best. Also, I would like to say that it was offering much more options than other companies so depend on your budget you could have more choices. The installation was done in one day and very professional. The workplace was cleaned. The project cost was very, very competitive. I would recommend American Standard for your home projects.

I do not recommend American Standard Walk-in-Showers. They are not safe. The salesman told us a lot of lies. He said it would have a textured floor, which meant to me that it would keep me from slipping. It's not that way. The outside contractors they hired to put it in were over 2 hrs. late coming both days. They left a huge mess both times. American Standard had to hire another outside contractor to come in a fix the problems made by the installers, which included them putting holes in my wall and breaking my woodwork. I would highly recommend that contractor, GPE Construction of Bear, DE, owner Paul Wilson. Not just to do your bathroom but to do other things in your home.

A gentleman came in, sat down, and showed me everything. He took pictures, and then he put our estimate together. We decided to do the walk in shower a couple of weeks later. The installers showed up around 10:00 and started tearing out the old facilities there. They were there till about 10:00 that night, but they got everything installed that day. The quality of their work was very nice. I only had one spot where it's coming back off the wall. The glue didn't set up exactly when they needed it. But it's sealed still. Also, there are a couple of little spots here that need touch ups. Other than that, everything's been fine. We were using it for my wife. She's passed away since, but she enjoyed it.

We chose American Standard walk-in shower because of its features, namely, its sturdy fold-down seat with legs, the controller which is within reach of the seat, and the wrap-around grab bar. The shower was installed November 2023, however, did not include the wrap-around grab bar. The installer was meticulous about caulking but put holes through the wall of an adjoining room. After numerous phone calls, the company agreed to send out another installer to put in the correct grab bar. It was necessary to pull off the original walls to do this. It was finally scheduled for March 2024. The installer put in the grab bar but didn’t repair the wall in the adjoining room, knicked up the walls and ceiling in the bathroom and did a very messy job of caulking. In summary, the shower serves its purpose, however we wouldn’t recommend American Standard because of its workmanship.

I contracted with American Standard on the 23rd of January. As of today, nothing has happened. The person I contracted with was Jack and I've paid him $1,000. He sold me on the idea of having a new shower instead of a bath. I'm in a condo. My condo said that they needed to have the contractor's license number but they never got it. I was told that American Standard would provide all the paperwork that they needed. I'm not very happy with American Standard.

It was a great experience with American Standard. I told the sales rep what I wanted and he pointed out what they had and suggested a couple of different things to make it a little bit easier on my wallet. It was excellent with the installers and the installation took three days. They had to get a part because of the way my bathroom is designed. Then, they called me once after the installation to see how I liked the walk-in shower. It was a great experience all the way around. Also, I like the little handheld shower. I'm completely satisfied with the product and I'd tell others to go with American Standard.

I have the American Standard walk-in shower and it's awesome. When I bought it, I enjoyed the company of their sales rep. He very well educated me concerning the shower and we spent about three hours for his explanation. He also took pictures and was well prepared. We also discussed the reason why I wanted a shower and he very well understood. He showed me different showers so that I could choose whichever one I like to fit my disability. I also enjoyed the boys who installed it. They were very informative as to what they were getting ready to do before they even did it. And they explained some different things that a person should know about the installation of the thing. Aside from that, they gave me choices where to put the bars and the shower head. Since I got the walk-in shower, my brother and mother would get in the water more.

The lady from American Standard Walk-in Baths that came out was very nice. Questions I asked, she explained it very well. It was a very good experience. The installers installed a new toilet. They were young, and they worked and stayed with it. When they said they would do it in a day, they did. I was impressed. I liked the toilet. And I love those safety bars that are in it. The walk-in shower has one that's an L-shape. I just like the way it looks in my bathroom because my tub was old. I recommend American Standard very highly.

The guy that came here talked real fast. He didn't show me too many pictures of anything. But American Standard was cheaper and it looked almost like all the other ones that I had already talked to, so I went with that. The installation was fine. But one side of the shower was too short, so they had to order it and it ended up being a week.

I just had the shower installed a month ago. The shower is very nice and it provides us with ease of taking a shower.

When I purchased American Standard, it all went very smoothly. I was particularly impressed by my main installer. His name was Eric and he was really good. He had one helper and I don't think he was as experienced because Eric was teaching him, but they did an excellent job. They cleaned up everything perfectly. They were very professional and yet very nice. I adore my shower and I'm pleased with it. I like the seat because I have problems with my feet, legs and hips. I like that I can sit down if I get a little unsteady. It is really handy to have and I can fold it up if I don't need it. The seat is the best. However, the shower head at the main one is a little wobbly and I have a hard time turning it. I think it has to do with my pipes inside the walls. I am gonna call Eric on that and see, but it's not a major deal at all.

We sat down with the American Standard reps and they told us what they had available. They told us the prices and the different kinds of showers they had available. We got a walk-in shower with all the handrails and a seat in it. The installers were quick and they walked us through the shower. So far, everything seems pretty good.

The salesman of our American Standard walk-in shower was smart and he knew what he was going to do. But there was no communication between him and the first group of workers. He would say that they could do this and that, but when the workers got here, they said that what he said couldn't be done. So I told the workers that they might as well just leave because there was no sense in them staying here. They finally came to agreement weeks later and the manager of the group said that he was going to send his best group out. When the that second group came, they knew what they were doing and they did the work. The whole installation took about six days they did an excellent job. They had to knock the wall out and that was what the salesman said they would do. They had to have some pipes moved, too.

We live out in the country and we were having trouble getting contractors to give us a quote on bathroom upgrades because of where we were. American Standard was given to us as a contractor in Phoenix. When I called them, they were more than happy to come 150 miles east of Phoenix to take care of us. Their salesman, Mark, came out and surveyed the project, gave us information and brochures, and then finally prepared a quotation for us. We got a walk-in shower and the installation was awesome. They did the whole job in one day. It was cleaned up spotless. It was also put back together by 6 o'clock the night they started. However, they short-shipped a shower chair that goes into the walk-in shower. They also broke a water line on the outside of the house. But they came back and fixed both within two days.

The sales rep was very caring about my situation but the installation took two days because American Standard didn't ship one of the parts. The walk-in shower has bars all the way around and a handheld sprayer next to the seat. The seat folded down so it could be cleaned. So, it was very good.

I ordered a bent seat which the installers forgot to bring. So, I cancelled that. Other than that, the quality of the walk-in shower is good and I had a good experience with American Standard.

The customer service rep that came out and gave us an estimate really knew what he was doing. He knew everything and could answer anything. He's been doing it for quite a while. We went with the walk-in shower, and the installers did a great job. They were in and out in one day, and I was pleasantly surprised. They installed the inch lip, which is what we were looking for. There's a seat, many grab bars and two showerheads as well. The shower is excellent, and it's been everything they said it would be. They also gave some strips so that we wouldn't slip and that worked out really well. I belong to this thing called Next Door Neighbor and I put in a good word for American Standard. Definitely go with this company 'cause they follow through.

Updated on 4/15/2024: I have one little problem with them right now. The grip strips on the bottom have come loose. That's my only complaint.

The salesman was super nice. Their warranty is far and above everybody else's. They told us that it would be about two weeks before someone would be out to do the installation and that the installer would call us a few days before they wanted to come out to set up the appointment and the time. The installer set up the time. He was here a little bit early that morning. They were finished around three in the afternoon. It's beautiful. I have a shower now. It doesn't have a step in it. It's almost smooth to the floor. So I just have to shuffle my feet and I'm in the shower. I also have a seat to sit in. They put a chair in that folds up so that the other people in the house don't have to endure the chair. They put up safety bars for me as well. It's wonderful. It's worth it. About a week after the install, the rep gave us a call and wanted to make sure everything was good and that we were satisfied, and we were.

I'm very happy with the product and the installation of our American Standard walk-in bath. The price was good too. The salesman was really awesome. He had all the tiles and samples of all the products. We were able to take them and put them in the bathroom. They did really good work. The salesman told us it'd take a day and a half for the installation. But these guys took three days. But I'm glad they took their time and got it done right. We had handrails and a seat put in because my wife has bad knees. We also put a rainfall shower head and my wife loves it.

I liked the lifetime warranty of American Standard. It's not just on parts but also on labor. Their rep was very professional and understanding. He was willing to work with us and instead of trying to upsell everything, he was trying to give us what would actually be functional. He was very informative and detailed. The sale was also one of those, "If you do this now, you get this discount. If you wait, we may not be able to fit you in until months later," type of deals. We had time frame constraints that we were working in. But we knew what we wanted and already had our minds set. The lifetime warranty was invaluable to us but it was still extremely expensive.

I called American Standard and they were very responsive. The guy came out to my house. I really liked him and I thought he gave me a fair deal and I bought a walk-in shower. The people who put it up were hard workers. I had a great experience. The only thing is the shower kit I bought comes with a shower curtain. They're too short for the shower. It leaked water. So, I bought a new one. The one they put in there doesn't hang all the way down. Other than that, I would recommend them to anybody. They have quality merchandise. Their installers were professional. They did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves. I'm 74 years old, and they put stuff in there in case I get the handicap. I can use it and they showed me how it worked. I have a chair that sits in there. It's built right into the system, and I have rails to hang on. The shower makes me feel safe.

I liked American Standard's price, and by reading the reviews online, they were pretty much one of the best. The sales rep took his time and explained everything. The installers were fantastic. They were on time and respectful. The shower is beautiful, but my husband and I both have fell out of the shower due to the seat. The seat that they put in there is slippery. I sat down on the seat and I fell and I had to slide across the floor which formed a big blister on my leg. It's still trying to heal.

We had an American Standard shower replacement. It's a beautiful shower unit compared to the old ones where it was just all one tub. It's the color I wanted. It's exactly what we wanted. My experience was very nice. Unlike a lot of conventional hardware, this stuff is real metal. Everything you buy in the stores is plastic. I had it specifically with a seat on the back for my spouse. I just have to get something in the bottom in case she slips or falls.

I called American Standard and set up an appointment for them to come out and give me a estimate. The guy that came out was so nice and respectful. He went through everything with me and didn't pressure. We enjoyed his visit. The price was reasonable. I was expecting more than that. The installers were great. You couldn't ask for better people to work with you. They got the installation done in one day and cleaned up everything. They showed me how to work the shower. I carried my husband in there and put the bars up to where he could get up and down. They fixed it where it would be convenient for him. I would recommend them to anybody because they were a wonderful crew.

American Standard is a very good company. The sales representative was very knowledgeable. The schedule coordinator was very good. Also, the gentleman from the selection team, Lance, is very reliable. He and his team did a good job. Installation was very good and the fixture is solid. I have difficulty climbing the bathtub. So, turning it into the shower is very good. It has been very helpful and much more healthy.

American Standard did really well. They showed us what they were doing, and I was very happy with the salesperson. I had three estimates and I looked at the product on all three. I was not sure because I'm not an expert, but the presentation of each of the salesmen from all three companies was really good. They looked at what I was doing and what I wanted, and for the money, I was gonna get the best bang for my buck with American Standard. In addition, I was very impressed with their installers. I was aware of what they needed to do that kind of work. I have wired, plumbed, sided and roofed the house myself. Now, I'm about 77 and I didn't want to do this kind of work anymore, so I was looking to have somebody do it. I watched them do the whole job, and I was pleased with their work. We had a tub, and I had them take it out. They installed a walk-in shower, and it's very safe. I'm really happy with the product. We always use it.

When they sold the bath to me, I didn't feel like I was gonna get ripped off. The rep did a presentation for about three hours. I picked the package with the rain showerhead. I like it. The only thing is that I didn't have an attachment, which is fine. I was told that I can go one cheaper than what they sell it for. But I ain't worried about it. Everything's been good. The contractors did an outstanding job.

I had a full shower replacement done by American Standard. I love it and it's comforting to have. But it really cost me a lot more than I thought it would. Also, there were a couple of problems during the installation but they were taken care of very promptly and the installers were really nice people.

The American Standard rep came and she explained everything. We asked her questions and she answered all our questions. She did a great job. The installers were professionals and they did everything that needed to be done. They were cordial. Ours is a walk-in shower for senior citizens and we just love it. The quality is superb. Nothing came apart. Everything is working. They explained everything in detail and how the shower works. We ran into a little problem. It wasn't their fault, though. They had to put the controls out on a different wall because one of the walls that they took out in the back, instead of being a 2x4, was only a 2x2 back there. But the guys did a great job.

The installers of our American Standard walk-in bath were very good. They put stuff down on the floor and walked on that stuff. They tear the old tub out and put the new one in. I liked the work that was done. It's a walk-in shower. I wouldn't be afraid for my husband. There's a seat. He doesn't have to step up and over. He's very disabled 'cause he falls a lot. This is something we really needed. It's very safe. There's another showerhead right there. And where the other showerhead is, there's a rail all the way across. There are also some corner pieces that you can put your soap on so he doesn't have to stand up and look for it. It's very comfortable to use.

The sales guy that we dealt with was upbeat, happy, and informative. He had his box of equipment and everything on that end went good and easy. I was also happy with the installation. I was really happy with the company that did the installation. American Standard put in a chair without legs and the installation guys said that for people who have just had strokes that they were not gonna put that chair in and that they were gonna put in a better one.

The American Standard rep was great. He walked me through everything and showed me pictures of how everything would look. The installers were also polite. It was two guys. They told me what was gonna be done and walked me through step by step. While they were doing it, they were telling me what they were doing. They laid down cloth so they wouldn't mess up my flooring. They did an overall great job. I had back surgery that's why I really needed a walk-in tub. I didn't get all the extras in it. But I love that shower here.

The sales rep was knowledgeable in the presentation. He knew what he was talking about but was not overly intrusive. And he had samples of the product. The installation team was prompt, clean and did what they were supposed to do. They were good workers. Everything worked out. I have a walk-in shower and it’s a very good product. But it isn’t what I expected. I thought it was going to be real tiles. But it’s fake. If I had realized that, I would not have done it. I'm almost at the point in the future of replacing it with real tiles because it doesn't keep up the standard that I have in my house. I have all the top-of-the-line stuff. But it's okay. I had good luck with American Standard. It was an excellent team.
