We knew the American Standard name and got a shower. I paid more than I should, but other than that they did a good job all the way. They did it in one day and the shower has got a good chair that I sit on. I’m not happy with the commode that they provided with it though. The height’s all right, but it’s got the round bowl and I needed an elongated one. Still, everything’s fine.

We had a shower down in the basement, and it got too dangerous for Elden to start going down in the basement because after he got the shower, he had to start using a walker. We got American Standard so we don’t have to go down in that basement. It’s a lot better. He got to use it only a couple of times before he passed away but when he did use it, he enjoyed it. I also enjoy the shower and I use it quite often. I take my showers at night because it helps me sleep better.

Dealing with the American Standard in-home sales representative was all good. Then the guys did the installation and the quality of their work was good. But the side panels seem to get in the way.

My husband and I had talked about getting a walk-in shower before he passed and we just never did it, and then my sister-in-law did it and I saw hers and it’s like, “Oh, my gosh. This is really nice.” And it’s a name brand and that the service is good. ‘Cause some of these other places you go to and you don’t know. You hear horror stories about how they left it half done. And American Standard has a good reputation of getting the job done in a timely manner and doing a great job, which is true.
My experience with American Standard went great. From the salesman who came, to the two guys who came and did the installation. Those guys were fast. I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t think they’d be able to get it all done in one day. But they had to come back the next day because there was no hardware with them for the shower doors. They were really upset about that. But it was fine with me. They did a lovely job and I am very happy with it. It turned out better than we thought it would. They also did some real extra stuff for me. Like my bathroom sink, it needed to have a little bit of caulk and they did that for me. Those guys were so sweet and I really like them.

My mother was living with me and she was unable to get into any kind of bathtub. I got the American Standard shower for her and it’s easy to walk in. I'm really happy with it. It worked for my mom, but she passed away, so I got the shower for myself now. Even though the shower curtain is extra long and doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, I can work around the shower, so it’s okay.

There is no way that my husband can get into a regular bathtub which was what we had. I initially thought a walk-in tub would be great but the problem is those things are really expensive. I ended up with a walk-in shower from American Standard. The installers came and they did the work all in one day. They cleaned up well after themselves and they consulted with me if there were any situations where I needed to weigh in like where to put the shelves and where to put the grab bars. They also took the time to explain how they were doing it and how things were anchored. The walk-in shower works really well. We are able to get in and out of it okay. I like it. It's a good thing. It's convenient and it seems to be really well-made. It's easy to clean and it makes it possible for my husband to have showers which is rather important.

Purchased your regular walk in shower in good faith. Your representative was very nice and not pushy, and he told me that I could contact him while the transition was going on. In the beginning he did as it was becoming a major issue. It took 4 days and a little bit longer when I was told the max it would be was one and a half days...I called the rep and he couldn't understand why???? I called him again this past Friday and realize it is the weekend, but I felt he should have called me anyway or left me a message, but oh NO which I worked in the customer service field all my life and never did that. If someone called me I always returned the call NO matter what.
I want to be compensated for what I had to endure, the installers were great, but your company kept sending the wrong stuff to them so they couldn't complete their job on time. It wasn't their fault. I blame this all on your company. I want someone to contact me and be compensated for what I had to endure as it was your end that messed up the whole installation. Please contact, oh your rep felt I should be compensated and was going to get back to me after he talked to his boss, of course, this never happened. Valerie **.

I had a operation that I couldn’t get into my regular tub. I got an American Standard walk-in shower and I liked the guy that sold it to us. He was good and it wasn’t a high-pressured sale. Also, the guy that installed it was good. It was mostly done in a day then he came back the next day to do little minor things. But it was good. Since I've had the shower put in, my leg healed. I suppose I could use the way it was but I like this new one. It’s nice and it’s easy to get in and out. I had a surgery and I couldn’t manipulate my lower limbs, so it helped. Everything’s the way it should be and it was a good experience for me.

I had seen ads and and I went to HomeAdvisor then HomeAdvisor apparently spread my name out so people started contacting me. While I already went with American Standard, I don’t really like the price that I paid. Sometimes, I'm thinking I should’ve checked further and see if I could’ve gotten a better price. I got a shower and the installation guy was fine. He had his son to help him. There's also water coming out so I have to call them back. Other than that, it’s now easier to get in and out of the shower. I don’t have to climb over a big old tub that I had in my bathroom.

I used to work in maintenance at a housing authority, and we had a lot of American Standard products. They were always good and they had very little problems. There were three installers and they did real good. They did everything in less than a day and it was completely finished. Mine is a walk-in shower and I like that I can get in it. With the old one, I couldn’t raise my feet high enough to get over in it. The shower has helped my life a lot. I can shower more often than I used to.

Back in March of this year, I bought a brand new American Standard walk-in shower. The price, $8900. I also have a good warranty on this piece of crap! The day after I purchased it, things were already going badly. The shelves that come with the shower, fell off! American Standard blamed me. Now the Safety Seat is falling out of the wall, and it is no longer safe for me! I am disabled, and purchased the shower for safety reasons! I have tried to get American Standard to fix what is wrong, but they haven't done anything in 6 months! Now I am going to get The ADA involved, and I am attaining a lawyer, and I am going to sue American Standard. And I am going to win!???

I'm on a wheelchair and although we had a handicap chair, it was progressively difficult for me to get over the edge of the tub and get in the shower. So we decided to get a walk-in shower. Besides, that tub had also been in there since '76. We had purchased two American Standard chair-height toilets to go in the other two bathrooms and we talked to the people at Lowe's about the American Standard shower. But I didn't get a clear picture of how the crew was going to install it, if it was somebody from American Standard or some jackleg contract guy. But it was great. What American Standard has been using are contract people and fortunately, we got a plumber.
The guy knew what he was doing and was efficient. The other two people with him were his son and a hired employee. They were all nice, courteous and very clean. They showed up early and looked after the flooring going from the door to the bathroom. When they had left, you wouldn't have known they had been there. I like the manifold for the shower, where you turn the water on and off. However, this is a summer home so in the wintertime, no one is here and we winterize the house. Ray said that there was no problem with that manifold and the draining. It's kinda strange but I'll have to take him at his word and anyway, I'll find out this winter. Nevertheless, I'd recommend American Standard. The quality of equipment that we bought and their installation were outstanding.

Updated on 8/26/2019: Told 2 weeks installation would start. Then did not have color I chose. Then set a date but cancelled after I had gotten ready for installation. Call salesperson did not know any answers. Call Lola several times, she could not tell me anything either. Finally said would send to her supervisor. After days later I call Lola, “We do not have the Bldg permit. It is our responsibility to get it”. Still no renovation and no one will talk with me! What is going on with the customer service with AMERICAN Standard? May need in-service themselves. Yes, I thought the best but from my experience the worst I have ever dealt with. This 80 y/o is so sadly hurt. Only thing is the representative, Mike ** was more than delighted to take my deposit. CONSUMER BEWARE after reading my experience. Now end of August and still no answers! I will try again Monday!
Original review: Agreement signed in July. To date no walk in shower. American Standard representatives seems not to know anything. Have not called back. Do not have my deposit $1070 Back. I should expect more than this???? Very displeased. Not customer friendly.

The American Standard rep who came out was great. He was very interesting and he told me everything that I needed to know. The installation of the shower went well, except it has two shower heads and when I turn on the round one, it just squirts out right in the center. It doesn’t spray. I would like to have somebody come out and correct it for me or check it to make sure it’s working. Also, at first, I didn’t know how to turn anything on because it was all new to me. The guy showed me after he installed it, but he told me real fast. After he left, I didn’t know how to turn it on. I had to get the nurse’s aide to show me because she has them in other people’s homes and luckily, she was able to show me. Other than that, I like the shower. It’s nice and roomy.

American Standard had what I wanted. Their sales team knew what they were doing. We got a walk-in shower and the installers did good. The shower looks real good and the team installed right. They told me how it worked and they cleaned up after themselves. It’s now a lot easier for my wife to get in and out of the shower.

My name is Janet ** and I am writing to tell you how pleased I am with the service my mother received from American Standard. We were concerned for her safety when bathing and she purchased a walk-in shower unit. She also received a free toilet which is the perfect height for her and is easier for her to manage. She loves the shower and the wall grips are throughout the area so we all feel she is safer when bathing. We were astounded to find this product guaranteed for life and that the guarantee includes labor. My mom and I both love it, I am pleased with the treatment she received and I love knowing she is safer when bathing. Now, we both recommend this product to everyone we talk to.

Instead of having a tub in our main bathroom, my husband decided that he wanted a walk-in shower because he’s a big guy and he doesn't like stepping over the tub. He said we could try American Standard and we’ve been really happy with them. The installers were local people and they were nice. They did a good job. The whole unit looks really nice and it’s holding up well. We had to pay for our shower doors, which they coated. It's good that we just rinse them off and we don't have to wash them. The walk-in shower would leave no tubs in either of our bathrooms, so we weren’t sure about getting it, but we wanted something that we could enjoy.

The price at American Standard was great and the salesperson was very informative and pleasant compared to the Kohler person who came to my house. The Kohler person quoted me $22,000 for the walk-in shower and he even said, “I know I'm not gonna sell you anything.” I asked him for three estimates but that's the only one he gave me. When the salesperson from American Standard came out here to measure my bathroom before they could install the walk-in shower, he looked at my toilet and he said that I am getting a new toilet without a cost. And they installed a new toilet for me.
The American Standard installation team was fine as well. When they installed the shower, my son was here to oversee some of the work. The workmen were very helpful and pleasant. I knew we're gonna have a problem with the village where I live since they're very strict but the plumber spoke to the village person and explained why it was installed the way it was done and the village gave the “Okay.” The workmen cleaned up after themselves very efficiently and I'm very happy with them. The only issue is the shower curtain, which even my daughter commented about, and I don't know if anything could be done with it. They put the rod up so high. My shower curtain measures 84 inches long and the standard length is 72 to 74. So, I don't know where I can buy another shower curtain if I need a new one.
My cleaning people also noticed there was a leak from the handheld shower hose. I called American Standard and the gentleman who did a lot of the installation work came out four days later. There was something that got a little loose in the nozzle so it was leaking when turned on. He corrected that so there are no problems now. All in all, I really love the walk-in shower and it is a good investment. I would definitely recommend American Standard. I've been talking about the walk-in shower a lot to my friends. Plus, I mentioned how good it was at the bone center where I was going to.

I purchased a shower from American Standard. My in-home sales rep was good but their installation crew had a bit of a problem with getting up the stairs. They damaged the paintwork which they said they would fix but didn't. They took out my hand basin and the surrounding area in order to get the shower in and they put the basin back where it belonged but they broke the stopper. Now the stopper doesn’t work and nothing holds the water. They didn't know about it at the time and I only found out about the problem until several days later. They also installed the shower curtain incorrectly but they came and fixed that. However, there were no instructions left for me so I don't know how to increase or decrease the temperature in the shower or the extent of the spray.

It's nothing overly special. The shower is easy to access and is pretty self-sufficient. I would probably suggest this model to another person, especially if they have mobility problems. Everything is built solidly and anchored properly. I can use the handles to pull myself along if necessary. I am very satisfied with the construction and have no trouble with leaks. If ever I need assistance, it's a phone call away. If there is a problem with the functionality, a service person will come and take care of it fairly quickly. I have had no problems so far. I feel that the product is a bit over-priced. There are number of walk-ins I've seen at my local big hardware store, but I suppose the installation and safety features are worth the extra.

The design is really comfortable and helpful for my grandmother. I love the shower. It is not slippery and the handlebars are very sturdy. Also the seat is sturdy and secure so my grandmother really likes it. The person that sold me the shower was really nice and helpful and also the installers were nice and were there on time and did an amazing job. It might seem like an expensive shower but it is worth it to see my grandmother have that independence even in the shower. She is happy knowing she can bathe by herself.

My design was a walk in shower with three different shower brackets. It looks as if you're in the rain forest with rain all around you. You have the ability to use all three at one time or just one at a time whatever fits your needs. There were brackets that's what I call them put on the wall if you needed holding up and around the rim of the shower is a water catcher, that way you need no worry about water getting on the floor. Very nice, friendly, reliable people. Really helped with all of your needs. Very knowledgeable. They definitely know their stuff when it comes to the bathroom. Their value overall, I do believe it adds to the house - that you have a great bathroom. The colors and the design go very well together.
