What is Zealthy?

Zealthy is a virtual health care provider that’s been in business since 2023. It offers prescription drugs and telehealth appointments for services like mental health, primary care, erectile dysfunction, birth control and skincare.

However, it primarily serves patients seeking prescription weight loss solutions. The company provides care in 34 states and has medication options for those with and without insurance.

How does Zealthy work?

You must have a Zealthy membership to receive prescription weight loss drugs. This membership gives you access to unlimited chat and messaging with a weight loss coach and insurance coordinator, as well as a monthly video or phone visit with your provider.

  • Step 1: To sign up, you must verify your identity and complete a questionnaire about your medical history and weight loss goals.
  • Step 2: A provider will review your information within one to two days, and then contact you with treatment options if you’re eligible.
  • Step 3: Once you have a prescription, a coordinator will review your insurance coverage, submit a preauthorization request and assist with payment. Patients without insurance can access affordable, compounded alternatives. Your coordinator then works with partnering pharmacies to get your prescription shipped directly to your home, typically within nine business days.

You can cancel your membership at any time, and you won’t be charged for the following month. Refunds are not available for prescription drugs or membership fees you’ve already paid.

Zealthy weight loss medications

Zealthy primarily prescribes glucagon-like peptide-1 agonists (GLP-1s) for weight loss. These drugs were originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, but are also approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat obesity. GLP-1s work by managing glucose levels and are most commonly self-administered by subcutaneous injection.

With insurance, patients may have access to brand name GLP-1s like:

  • Ozempic
  • Zepbound
  • Wegovy
  • Mounjaro

If you don't have insurance coverage or if these drugs aren’t covered by your plan, you’ll be prescribed a compounded drug. Compounded drugs are made with the same active ingredient as name brands, but are not FDA-approved. Options include:

  • Compounded semaglutide, the main active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic.
  • Compounded tirzepatide, the main active ingredient in Zepbound and Mounjaro.

The only other medication that may be prescribed is metformin, another type 2 diabetes drug that helps regulate blood sugar levels.

Zealthy cost

There are two associated costs when using Zealthy: membership fees and medications.

  • Membership fees: A weight loss membership costs $135 per month. You receive one-on-one coaching, access to medication and help with prescription coverage. The only medication included with this fee is metformin; all others must be paid for separately.
  • Medications: Members are responsible for paying the cost of their medication.
    • Brand-name drugs: When covered by insurance, drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy can cost as little as $25 per month or whatever your prescription copay is.
    • Compounded drugs: Compounded semaglutide costs $151 per month, and compounded tirzepatide $216 per month when you purchase a three-month supply.

Patients without insurance can also bundle their membership and medication costs. A bundled membership with semaglutide costs $217 for the first month and $297 every month after, and with tirzepatide is $349 for the first month and $449 every month after.

Is Zealthy legit?

Yes, Zealthy is a legitimate company that employs board-certified clinicians and coaches. It also offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, so if you’re found to be ineligible for weight loss drugs, you can get a full refund.

In addition, the company only works with pharmacies that have been accredited by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), are LegitScript certified and it only uses FDA-registered manufacturers and distributors to source raw materials for its compounded drugs.

My medicine arrived on time with tracking information in discreet packaging. My Zealthy team sends frequent emails and support information. They do respond to questions and concerns that you may have. I did upload my most recent lab report and other medical information that you have the option to submit. The best thing I can say is that everyone is not the same and our bodies react differently. Give it a try for yourself. I'm impressed only after two weeks. I can't wait to see how it goes further down the road.

Everything has been great so far with my experience. I started at 260 lbs. and I’m now down to 233.8 lbs. The shots have made a huge difference in controlling my appetite hunger used to be a constant struggle, but now it’s barely on my mind. I feel more in control of my eating habits, and it’s been motivating to see the weight consistently come off. This has been one of the few things that’s truly worked for me, and I’m excited to keep going.

The coach has been incredibly supportive throughout my weight loss journey. They've been quick to answer all my questions, no matter how small and always offer helpful tips tailored to my needs and goals. Whether it's guidance on managing side effects, advice on nutrition or encouragement to stay on track, their support has made a big difference. It's a reassuring to know I'm not doing this alone and that I have someone knowledgeable in my corner.

I love everything about Zealthy and how easy it makes it for you to be prescribed the medication you need, but I have had some issues with the timeliness of requesting refills. My medication was prescribed almost 2 weeks ago and yet I still have not received it. It doesn't look like a tracking number has even been assigned to it yet. I was charged for the medication over a week ago. Today is the day that I am supposed to take another dose, and now I do not have the medication despite having requested a refill over 16 days ago. I've reached out to my care team but they have only been able to tell me that they're still waiting on a tracking number from the pharmacy. Overall, though, I do like Zealthy and would recommend.

I had $135.00 charged to my card from… I had $135.00 charged to my card from Zealthy on 6/03. I have correspondence stating that I'm on Medicare and can't afford the medication, Zealthy's reply "we can't enroll members on Medicare". Now My card was charged for the second time, the first time was less money, Now they took my money when I never ordered or received anything? I've had no luck calling or emailing their support line. Maybe an honest mistake but this should never happen. I was told they refunded my account but as of now I got nothing.

This company is a complete scam. The meds they prescribe for weight loss are simply compounded nothing. I was given samples of Wegovy by my doctor while I waited for insurance approval. I lost pounds in two months from the samples but my insurance would not approve the medication, so I sought out an online provider and choose Zealthy. After pay over 600 dollars, and taking the meds for weeks, I have lost .5 pounds. Total sham. I know how I felt with the real meds and these are not that. I reached out to customer service several times and never hear back. AVOID THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A SCAM

Total scam. Took my payment, then never delivered the product. No coaches contacted me, nothing ever happened. I don't know how you can say this is a legitimate company. I see the same complaints on the vast number of other reviews.

They will sign you up and then will never cancel your subscription. I cancelled a year ago and just audited my bank statements and realized they have continued to call. No one will answer or return my call. They are a complete scam.

This company is a scam. First of all, there is no customer service and they will not help you out. My wife was charged twice on our account for one membership while trying to get our money back. They will not answer emails and when you use the phone to call them, they just put you on a run around. I had to cancel my debit card so will they would quit trying money out of my account. Be aware, terrible service, terrible company.
