How Luma Health works
Luma Health provides physician-prescribed glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) treatments for weight loss and women's hormone therapy through a telehealth model. To start, you'll complete a short health assessment and meet with a licensed provider. Same-day visits are available.
Most adults with a BMI over 27 will qualify for weight loss treatment through Luma Health. A licensed provider will review your health profile and determine which treatment, if any, is appropriate for you. As a Luma Health patient, you'll have access to 24/7 care team messaging.
Luma Health prescriptions and refills
Medication prescribed through Luma Health is dispensed by a licensed compounding pharmacy. Your dosage may be adjusted during treatment based on your provider's guidance. You're automatically scheduled for monthly or quarterly auto-refills, depending on your treatment plan. To cancel or pause an upcoming auto-refill, you must submit a request at least 15 days before the next scheduled refill date.
Luma Health shipping
Medication prescribed through Luma Health ships within one to two business days of provider approval, and most patients receive their order in two to three business days. All shipments are free and packaged discreetly, and patients receive tracking information once an order ships.
Luma Health services
Luma Health offers four GLP-1 weight loss medications and a women's hormone therapy line, all prescribed by a physician and personalized to the patient.
- Compounded semaglutide ($90 per month): This weekly injection contains the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy.
- Compounded tirzepatide ($165 per month): This weekly injection is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and GLP-1 receptor agonist containing the same active ingredient as Mounjaro and Zepbound.
- Oral semaglutide ($100 per month): This daily tablet contains semaglutide and may suit patients who prefer to avoid injections.
- Oral tirzepatide ($165 per month): This daily tirzepatide tablet offers another noninjectable treatment option.
- Women’s hormone therapy ($100 per month): This bioidentical hormone therapy includes estrogen, progesterone and dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and is intended to address symptoms related to perimenopause, menopause, postpartum changes or general hormone decline.
All plans include medication, provider visits, dose adjustments and 24/7 care team messaging, and shipping is free. Luma Health’s treatments are eligible for payment with a health savings account (HSA) and flexible spending account (FSA) funds.

Luma Health's pricing varies by treatment. Injectable semaglutide costs $90 per month, oral and injectable tirzepatide cost $165 per month, and oral semaglutide and women's hormone therapy each cost $100 per month. Every plan includes medication, provider visits, dose adjustments and 24/7 care team support. Shipping is free. You can use FSA or HSA funds to pay for Luma Health treatments.
You'll be responsible for paying for services and products directly. Luma Health doesn't take insurance, and GLP-1 medications and hormone therapy aren't typically covered by standard health insurance. Federal and state healthcare programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, also don't pay for the medical services or products offered through Luma Health's telemedicine and bundled treatment services. Luma Health accepts Affirm for patients who want to split payments into monthly installments.

How do I cancel Luma Health?
Luma Health patients are automatically scheduled for monthly or quarterly auto-refills depending on the selected treatment plan. To cancel or pause your upcoming auto-refill, you'll need to submit the request at least 15 days before the next scheduled refill date. If you cancel within 15 days of the refill date, Luma Health can't guarantee it will stop the order.
Does Luma Health offer refunds?
Refund eligibility with Luma Health is limited. If you've completed a telehealth visit and your prescription has been submitted, you can only get a refund on the same day as your appointment, minus a $50 service fee. Once your prescription has been sent to the pharmacy for fulfillment, refunds aren't available.
Do you need to meet with a provider through Luma Health?
Yes, you’ll need to complete a health assessment and meet with a licensed provider to get medications through Luma Health. GLP-1 medications and hormone therapy are prescription treatments, and a licensed provider determines whether treatment is appropriate based on your individual health profile.
