They screwed up one of my tests and wouldn't give me a free draw and retest. I called several numbers because they kept transferring me to numbers that kept transferring me. Terrible customer service and incompetent lab tests. My doctor agreed that the tests were erroneous.

A sales woman for Humana came to our door and sold us on the idea that because our daughter is diabetic it's good to go to the Humana clinic local to us with this insurance because their blood testing lab is done at that location and would be covered by her Humana insurance. After being insured for over a year, now bills arrive from Quest Diagnostics for a blood test done on our daughter four months earlier.
Quest website gives you all sorts of tabs to choose before you are directed to call their customer service computer about the bill. After you are given choices to push numbers, the computer says "I'm sorry, I'm having difficulty understanding your request. Let me connect you...would you mind taking a short survey about your customer service after the call? Press 1 for yes, press 2 for no." If you don't answer, it repeats but will not transfer your call. I will pay them with a money order, but not give them my account number or any credit card numbers. They are legalized theft in our opinion, and sanctioned by our government and the insurance lobbyists in Washington D.C. We only give Quest one star because there is no option for no stars to review this racket.

Think twice before going to Quest Diagnostics for any tests/lab work. Quest Diagnostics mandates credit card or debit card is provided for services to be rendered! What's next, bank account numbers! Refused services unless agreed to "participate" in Quest's Easy Pay billing scheme -- meaning, credit or debit card must be provided to receive lab tests.

I went to Quest for lab work 8 weeks ago (Mid August 2019). After eight days I stopped by the location I had used to inquire about my results. Their MyQuest app was the only information the office staff provided to me. I requested a phone number but they said that I needed to go through the app. Downloaded the app, put in a request for lab results, waited another week and received a message in the app that said they were unable to locate my results. Shortly thereafter I received a bill for several thousand dollars on this lab work for which they are unable to provide results.
Then, the original office called me, my husband answered the phone and they proceeded to discuss the fact that I had lab work and was there a different insurance company to bill? So, they can't find my results, now they've made a major HIPAA violation and they are billing me an OUTRAGEOUS amount for lab work. I tried again today to get my results, using information on the bill they sent me and now the website says they cannot provide results on tests over 60 days old. I am a registered nurse. Everything about my experience with this company is absolutely unacceptable and I intend to write reviews on them at every available opportunity, including a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

On Oct. I got some blood work done and results take like two days to come out. However, on Oct. 14 I had an appointment with my primary care physician and when I access MyQuest page, there were no results to show. You can imagine the embarrassment and delay this cause. I see other reviews and can tell that Quest Diagnostics does not even care about customer service and offer promises that can't keep, just like any other politicians. I will inform my healthcare plan provider, that I can longer do business with this people. If you got other options, do not visit any Quest Diagnostics facility, specially in Florida.

I went to Quest for a glucose tolerance test, as directed by my doctor. I had one shot to do the test, and the staff refused to do it, even though I arrived BEFORE THEY CLOSED. I explained to them that this was the only time I could do it. They did not care at all. They simply did not want to do it that way. Nothing at all prevented them from doing so, they just did not want to. Now my whole treatment plan is delayed. But the staff is too ignorant to care.

I visited the Murphy TX site today and they insisted collecting an estimate of costs without verifying I am at 100% in network satisfied. As an in network provider they should clearly have access to my insurance system to see where the member is in order to determine coverage and collection status. I am filing a complaint to the TX dept of insurance for your fraudulent billing practices.

If at all possible I would truly recommend another lab, their results are very different when compared with another lab I just did 3 months ago, redid my lab for iron levels and all of sudden they were normal, then it took them more 10 days to return all samples back. You can never speak with a quality assurance person, although I filled out their form 2 times online to correspond with someone.
Just a bad type of situation, very sad and I hope the health department or larger government bodies check into their quality, etc... I am wondering if they report or make things worse than they are. The first center near 1960 and Jones, I used was so crappy, and results were received after 12 days and second time my doctor sent me to another location near Willowbrook mall. (Houston)

So far the overall experience is very poor. The facilities are unclean and unsafe with easy access to testing material. Many sites do improper testing even with tests that should be fasting or stored improperly. The only one I’m mainly ok with are the ones at a doctor office or other medical facilities. The billing department is one of the worst. So many rude representative especially the supervisor Gina. She believes she can speak and treat people however she wants. She stated she has no supervisor like she owns Quest Diagnostics. The worst thing is I’ve never owed a bill and always, always current.

Bloodwork done in August. They will not do tests unless they get a card on file for any balance, which I have no copay. Told them that and they didn’t care. Had United Healthcare call them to let them know I had no copay, so there would not be a balance. Needed bloodwork and urinalysis in Sept. It was the same scenario as in August, except this time they said that my insurance wouldn’t pay for one of the tests, which I told them they were wrong. I was told without signing saying I would pay, they would not do the test. I was bullied into signing. Then I get the results and remember they didn’t do the urinalysis. There was a note saying I couldn’t void and was told to come back. This is absolutely false and a falsification on my medical record. I have reported this to my insurance company and they are going to investigate. Looking for another lab.

Quest blood labs do not communicate up front with people that they do not accept lab cards from Insurance companies, or send claims to your insurance company to have the bill partially or fully paid for. The Staff is very direct to the point of rudeness and seems to be discriminating against me (and possibly others. They could clear much of this up by communicating clearly regards if they even have anything to do with getting your insurance information to their billing office, which is in a separate place, with a separate phone number. In this way, they appear lazy and rude & seem to be discriminating against me and possibly others. I will not go to them (this Burleson, Texas blood lab) again, since they have caused me and my husband to try and get it straightened out.
I have been going to Quest labs in two different states due to my specific insurance. The blood lab tests I had been getting done usually went fine with the ladies taking my blood, taking my Insurance information, and sending the claim to them. This happened for 10 to 15 years(!) approximately, before they said they had to have the lab request from my Dr. written a specific way, (requesting that my blood be processed thru Quest labs, instead of my primary physician's lab. My husband and I have had to try to get this straightened out between Quest & my Dr's office, two times, the last time I went to get the labwork done.
We even verified the information that the Dr. gave us, had phone calls made & they don't even pick up their phone, which seems to verify that either someone doesn't exist there (manager) or they are avoiding calls (since they have no office staff, at all). I personally think they need to go out of business, due to the difficulties they seem to try to cause & never do anything about. I'm not even sure anyone cares about all of these terrible reviews.

I went to a Quest Diagnostics Office week of 9/17/19. They have fired all receptionists and now the Phlebotomists perform administrative duties in addition to their main job. The goal: reduce headcount (aka increase profits) without disregard to patient service. Patient service has plummeted, a typical 20 min visit in the past became 1.5 hours. I hope this moronic idea increases the profits your spiritual being aspires.

My insurance did not cover it, so I set up a payment plan. I have been making my payments on time for over a year, and now I get a letter that my payment is in default, and that they are going to send me to collection, and ruin my credit. I am LIVID. I was on the phone with them for almost 2 hours yesterday to no avail, and I am so beyond stressed out. Google it and you will see that they do this to MILLIONS of people. So, heads up!

The staff in the blood draw facilities are generally rude, don't think you know anything and treat you like second class citizen. They are all too busy to answer your questions or even help you with an issue in general. They just want to move on to the next person. If you try to call them they don't answer or leave you waiting on hold for 15-20 minutes at a time. They don't respect appointment times and will leave you waiting 10-15 minutes past your appointment. They are severely understaffed, they don't even have someone at the front counter.

The location and the ease of setting up an appointment is what keeps me going back to this location. However, the last few times I have gone, the staff now is rude and care more about the paperwork than the patient. Today there was an issue with my doctor's standing every 8 week order which was electronically sent over in July for my previous visit to Quest. At the visit to Quest in July, the staff person said everything was good with the order. Today the same staff person said there was a problem with my order and I had to have my doctor send over another order or have a paper order. I was not able to get my lab work done. This will be my last time going to this location. Since I need to go to Quest due to my insurance I will be going to another location that is farther from my house.

It’s not just customer service they lost but common decency. You work in a health type field. You can’t treat the customer like they don’t matter while taking money. On top of that without giving accurate and available pricing. Some of the labs have been done incorrectly also. False test results are pretty high lately. I’ve spent too much money with quest and need to find a new lab.
You are going to make a big deal of a small bill when I spent so much money over the last decade. You also don’t like Answering questions related to your lab. Billing department is not customer friendly and believe somehow they own the company. Big concern is sanitary conditions in some of the testing sites. No hand washing or even hand sanitizer. Things left out in the open and just dirty facilities in general. Please find a company who cares about the person not just the bill.

The invoice has two numbers you can call--one is a pay by phone and one for questions. I called the number for questions and it rang and rang until it just hung up on me. No voice mail-nothing! Then I tried the Pay by Phone number and after I jumped through a number of prompts I finally got a live representative, but then they put you on hold FOREVER. Also it seems that there are issues with them following procedure in acquiring necessary records from the medical provider in order to fully process insurance claims.

Every time I go to Quest for blood we, which is every 3 months, I am rudely pressured into putting a card on file so they can automatically bill me. I am hesitant because they have already made a mistake once. After this last time, I will never give them my card again. The Quest employee taking my blood said it would be at least 4-6 weeks before anything came out and they would email me a day or two in advance with my invoice so I wasn't caught off guard. None of that happened. No email and it was after 2.5 weeks I was charged.
I called to ask for an invoice to be sent so I could send to my HSA for refund. He didn't want to send it to me until the money was done processing. It was already out of my account at this point and that is essentially a bill. So you charge me and then don't want me to see the charges until you know for sure you have your money!? Absolutely ridiculous! That is extremely shady. I should see the lab fees well before I am charged. From now on they can mail me my bill. I will not be providing my card information further.

I called to ask about this and was told that they can not do anything, this is the bill and did not care what I had to say. I have been paying $100.00 a month, my current bill is now $342.25. I had to get the same EXACT tests done again, this time my Doctors office did them and they were not sent to Quest Labs. My bill for these EXACT tests was $142.12 that is a difference of $500.18. Due to a staff person's error in my doctor's office, my labs were mistakenly sent twice to Quest, which is not covered by my insurance. My doctor's office and the insurance (BCBS) communicated with Quest about this, and the following solution was negotiated: My insurance company sent me a check for the amount they would cover (a little over $110), and Quest agreed to accept it as payment for all charges. I confirmed this with a Quest representative on the phone, then endorsed the check and sent it to Quest, who cashed it. Subsequently I received an invoice for $50 from Quest on two occasions; each time I called and the person I talked to agreed that it was an error and that I should ignore it.
Recently I received a bill marked THIRD NOTICE for the same amount. I called and talked to a Quest representative again, who said that I was wrong and that I owed the $50. He transferred me to his supervisor; she told me the same thing again in no uncertain terms, claiming that Quest would never agree to such an arrangement. I have given up at this point because none of this was ever put in writing to me, so I paid the $50. This is a terrible way to do business, and I hope the $50 dollars is worth the negative publicity they'll get via word-of-mouth and social media as I report my experience.

A few days later, I received my EOB from my insurance, telling me that they had paid the claim to Quest for like 92.00 and that I owed nothing. I have been on the phone with Quest no less than six times asking for my refund. (UPDATE: TEN times) I have sent them the EOB, I have called with a rep from my insurance company on the phone who verified when the company deposited the money into their account.
Three (UPDATE 5 times) times now I have been told that my refund was being rushed and two months later, NOTHING still. Victoria ** told me three weeks ago that she was the supervisor and was "rushing" my credit card refund and as of two days ago, had yet to put it through AGAIN. And they are STILL billing for me the invoice, which they have been told by a rep from my insurance company is paid and deposited already. Complete and utter crap.
I will NEVER use Quest again, ever. I will make sure that people know how horrible this experience has been. It may not mean anything to a huge corporation like Quest, but meanwhile here in the real world, some of us are living paycheck to paycheck and would love a true story. Update: I spoke with Quest again two days ago, who said they mailed me a check on the 14th, and came home to an email yesterday from the Better Business Bureau telling me that Quest JUST MAILED the check yesterday. June 20, 2019 h:12:25 pm. We kept struggling to understand why the nurses did not call our name after registration process, arguing for more than an hour and fifty minutes, then finally I called manager on the phone (Eric) and telling us he was going to take care of the problem and promised to call us back. However he never did. One staff member rude & imperious & lacked appropriate interpersonal skills when I sought simple clarification/information. Unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff and manager! It was totally uncalled for and embarrassing. This is second time I have had an unpleasant experience using Quest and I now believe that staff education on social skills is called for - for your organization if the operation want to keep customers.
One hour and 55 minutes wait time in waiting room. This was so unacceptable. And no one at the facilities has been able to identify the reason for. The head nurse on duty was really very rude to me personally and had very non supportive behavior. Finally fighting, arguing and working my way to a new front desk attendant Douglas, we were able to move out of the facility. I was really very disappointed by the behavior of the staff specially the front desk attendant who was really acting like a manager. Myself I will never visit this location Patient Service Center again and will never recommend people also to do so as per my personal experience.

Unprofessional to the max. They illegally overcharged my credit card for an amount I did not authorize, then refused to reverse the bill even though my receipt states a different amount. They literally cannot do one thing right. Their staff during my blood draw was rude and insulting other clients before they brought them in from the waiting room. They flat out ignored a question of mine because I could tell they were irritated by people acting apprehensive about the process. They inaccurately reported my blood results, not labeling some as out of range when they were, and labeling one as out of range when it wasn't. When I followed their email prompt to email them with any questions, I was basically told "don't email us" about this and talk to you doctor. They are professional time wasters.
Even trying to call for customer service is a joke. Would it be so hard for them to tell you as soon as you call that their call center is closed? No, instead they have you waste your valuable time through 10+ minutes of a lengthy interactive menu only to finally be told they're closed and call back later. How stupid can a business be. STAY AWAY.

I don’t understand why they don’t do the test they're suppose to, why they take it upon themselves to do that!! I asked, "Why blood, I’m suppose to do a urine drug test," they said, "The company wants to know if you had alcohol this morning," I said, "What, they didn’t request blood work." Don’t go there!!!

I had received a conditional employment offer provided I submit to a drug pre-employment screening. I reported the following morning to Quest Diagnostics 195 Mcgregor St Manchester NH. Upon arrival I signed into the kiosk and took a seat. My name was called and I went to the desk and provided the paperwork. At the time I checked in I was not able to provide a urine specimen. I thought it would be OK, I could wait and drink water until I was ready. (Been there, done that before.) The receptionist then became quite terse and very abrupt to me stating the test was time sensitive and I should not have checked in until I was ready to provide a urine specimen. (How was I to know this. No notification and no posting on the wall either). I was willing to attempt provide it right then and there, if possible.
I sat down in (whatever they call it) the room where they conduct the tests. There was an issue inputting my data so I offered my potential employer's telephone number if that would help. Once again I was spoken to quite rudely by another technician stating my help was not required and to remain seated (I am an adult being spoken to like a child). As stated previously I was not able to provide a specimen. The technician said "Well, it looks like we both wasted each other's time." And then instructed me to wait in the lobby and drink some water until I was ready. I stated "I won't leave the lobby" when she curtly replied "Don't interrupt me while I am speaking." (I kid you not.) She then gave me the riot act about what I can and cannot do (I get that she is required to tell me and completely respect that).
I returned to the lobby and spent the next two hours drinking water and waiting to be called for to provide a specimen. During this time the door between laboratory and the waiting room was unsecured and unattended for approximately 30 minutes. (HIPPA violation, perhaps?) When I was called in to provide a specimen (the same grouchy tech). I just remained silent, did what needed to be done and handed the container to the tech. She had noticed my friendly demeanor went south, pointed at the door and said "There's the door." My response: "The sooner the better". She sarcastically retorted "Have a nice day". I had enough and I responded "Kiss my **" and walked away. Perhaps that was not the best option for that particular moment but I was really angry at this point. Any rational person could understand my frustration.
The plot thickens... The following day I obtained an email from my potential employer stating that my offer had been rescinded due to my conduct at Quest Diagnostics. Apparently somebody called my potential employer to complain about what had happened. Regretfully my potential employer chose to dismiss me rather than hear my side of things. I have spoken to an attorney and there is no legal recourse. I have filed a formal complaint with Quest Diagnostics and I have also spoken with some local news media outlets regarding (what I consider) unfair treatment.

Meaning if the Insurance doesn't cover the expenses, they automatically charge the credit card given for the renaming balance or all of it depending on your coverage. This is not helpful at all!! No medical facility uses a patient Credit Card as a Pre-Auth. Insurance is there for a reason USE IT. Bill the insurance and what is not cover send the patient the invoice to pay. I received my explanation of benefits from my insurance and it indicated that a Vitamin D test was not covered because they considered it explorative. I have a history and the test was to monitor. Since I had reached my out of pocket max for the year - my balance due was $0.00. I received a bill from Quest for the test, so after being on hold for more than an hour to speak to someone in billing, I was asked to send them a copy of my EOB which I sent while I was on the phone with the rep and he confirmed it was received. Still keep getting bills and threatened to be sent to collections.
I call Billing again - on hold for over an hour again - I tell the rep this is my second call in reference to this and am told it will be looked into - it could take a couple of weeks to process. I receive a final notification that if the bill is not paid I will be sent to collections. So I send them a printed copy of my EOB along with the printed email I sent months ago thru USPS mail with the billing statement. Yesterday I received notification from a collections agency for this bill, so now I have re-send all of this documentation to them. I never reviewed this company before and wish to share my experiences. A few years back, I needed bloodwork for my prostate cancer diagnosis. I went to Quest because my Doctor at the time sent me there. I got a bill for over $2000 which I paid in full. Fast forward several months when I got a statement from my Blue Cross insurance showing they too paid that bill. I reported Quest to my insurance and the rep told me they could ask for their money back or I could contact Quest and demand MY payment back. I said since I had paid thousands of dollars to doctors for my cancer surgery already, I wanted a refund. I had to wait a few months, but after I threatened to report them as double-billing scammers, I finally got a refund.
This past week, my partner had a blood test scheduled at Quest. He woke up ill and thought he would be nice and cancel his appointment. His call went to India. He explained the situation to the man (who had all his information on their end including our address, phone number and an old expired credit card on file). The man told him there would be a $29.99 cancelation fee and he wanted a new credit card number. My partner started to swear at the guy and called him some things I won't repeat before slamming the phone down.
When he called back to the Quest number for the local office and finally got someone to answer the phone, they told him he must have dialed the wrong number and they do not use India for their calls. When he told the woman that the man had answered the phone "Quest Diagnostics' he heard another employee in the background state he was right because the previous week when she was calling in sick, she too had been connected to India. The woman on the phone finally said "Huh, I guess others have problems with our phones too. I will tell my supervisor. You do not need an appointment, just walk-in at your convenience" and she hung up. I have not used Quest since my situation and now my partner will never set foot in their office either.

Firstly, I am very disappointed with the experience. I still have no test results. So, let me give you the whole story. I purchased a test and made an appointment on questdirect.questdiagnostics.com. I printed out the sheet with its QR code and brought that to the test location as directed. The QR code would not scan at the test center with the iPad/Kiosk stating "invalid appointment" or something like that. The woman at the counter finally found my appointment in her desktop computer after giving up on the Kiosk.
When I met the phlebotomist, she said that my order was not in her computer either. She tried several ways, with phone number, last name/first name reversed, and then gave up. After talking with the lady at the front desk, she came back to me with the same paper sheet I had printed out. She said, "It is OK, it is not in the computer because she printed it out already." That did not make sense to me and at that point I was wondering if I would ever get my test results if my order was not in the computer system.
So, after that I was hopefully waiting for my test result, expecting a few days or so. Happily surprised, I received an email stating "New test results from Quest Diagnostics are now available in your MyQuest account." The email directed me to login. I logged on to MyQuest with the same account I had used for my appointment and found NO test results. So, nothing personal, but I have little faith in your computer system. I am hoping that someone can resolve my situation, but I keep being told to wait a day or two or sometimes a week, even though I received an email stating that my test is ready. Calling Quest for support does not help.

I arrived at 8:10 AM, I was called back at 8:14 AM by - using the term loosely - a young lady, she was rude from the beginning. That only continued to grow as she reviewed my paperwork and noticed there was a notation of an 8 AM blood draw mentioned on the lab slip - “as I mentioned this is repetitious so it’s the same verbiage that was on all of the previous lab slips”.
When the lab tech refused to take my blood because it was past 8 AM I explained this is the same lab work I’ve had done several times and never at 8 AM, asked that she review my file. She stood with a condescending look on her face and said, “You have to show up at 7:30 and wait.“ So I pose the question, even if I show up at 7:30 there’s no guarantee that I’ll be seen at 8 AM right? Which would then require me to show up again 7:30, miss more work, make more arrangements, jump through life’s hoops just to be turned away.

His working area was a untidy & unclean for cleanliness is vital to keep things safe and from cross-contamination. He wasn't being careful and keeping each vial of blood & urine specimens from different patients properly organized. He was watching a game on his smart phone while working on my paper work. He didn't have everything organized on a tray to collect my specimens. He just took things out of the draw as needed and put them on the arm rest of the blood drawing chair that he didn't wipe it clean after the patient right before me. He didn't even wash his hand and were new gloves when my turn. In fact, he picked up the used gloves that he dropped on the floor, wore them, and continued to work on me. When working with blood, cleanliness, and sterilization are important but he failed to do so.
Two things I liked about this phlebotomist were that he's not a talkative person and did a good job of withdrawing my blood in a first try. I understand that phlebotomists work in a busy environment, seeing a dozen patients or more in a single day and trying to keep up a fast pace. But they must do their job correctly and have social conscience to give their patients their best care. It's very hard to talk to a receptionist of any QuestDiagnostics locations! I went to this location whose receptionist is an check-in ipad. This wasn't the lab of my choice; I just followed my doctor's order.

Once my physician called them and corrected the coding I expected the charges to be reprocessed and to receive an updated invoice. I have not. Three unanswered emails from me and 3 bills later nothing has been done. I tried calling them but was on hold for over 20 minutes and had to hang up. I’m at a loss as to what to do next. I suppose I will have to take time off work and sit on the phone until I get a live person. However, based on other reviews I think this may be a long battle. My appointment was at 7:45 today on Feb. 20, 2019 at Park Blvd. in Seminole, FL. I required a pre 8 a.m. blood draw. I had waited for over two weeks to get this appointment and needed it on this day in order to have the results prior to my dr. appointment. I signed in at 7:43 using the code provided in the text. It said I was signed in!!! I was not familiar with names being listed on the screen as there were no instructions that I saw advising me that my name had to appear there.
There are no staff people to answer any questions. After waiting until 8:02, I finally asked questions of a technician who had appeared to call another customer. I explained the situation including the fact that I needed an 8 a.m. blood draw and was told to sign in again. Then I asked if she could take me as I had indeed signed in earlier and another customer had confirmed that I had done so and been waiting. The technician told me that I would have to wait until all the other people had their tests and it would be too late as it was now after 8 a.m.
I was rightfully upset that the screen now declared I was 10 minutes late when this was not true! Also, why did the tech bother to have me sign in again knowing that she was not going to take me in? This tech could have well taken me under the circumstances especially as the other customer confirmed my facts and that it is not my fault that their computer system did not work properly!!! HORRIBLE THAT THEY DO NOT EVER HAVE A LIVING PERSON IN CASE YOU HAVE A QUESTION.

The second time was accompanied with a secondary form of testing for HIV which came out negative, however it is nerve-wracking nonetheless. After several rapid tests (as I've only had one partner for 2 yrs), after my boyfriend of 2 years taking a blood test, we're negative. Even the doctor was sort of confused on how this happened. I have tormented myself wondering why this could happen. Needless to say with all these reviews complaining about missing blood samples, inaccurate results and one same as me, I AM NOT surprised ONE BIT!! Do not go to Quest. Avoid it. Tried explaining them this was preventive but they kept insisting saying we cannot change the billing code to it and still shows up as Diagnostics ie patient's responsibility and unable to get it covered from United Healthcare. They kept giving me nos. to call on. Still no changes were made and finally an associate said call the clinic. It felt like I was a ping pong ball. My husband went to do a routine blood draw for a medical concern. The phlebotomist made 3 reckless/careless moves: 1- My husband verbally requested she should use the superficial vein, and she ignored him and went for a deeper vein (which I learnt later is against policy). 2- She was reckless with the blood test tube and removed it too quickly, and had to discard that tube since it was too “empty”, which means he had to give more blood due to her mistake. 3- During the blood draw, as blood was CLEARLY flowing, she forcefully pulled downwards on the skin, causing some discomfort at the time. Within a few hours it became clear that a hematoma formed due to her rough manhandling and it’s now a week later, and he is STILL IN PAIN! He cannot pick up his arm or extend it straight. He can barely pick up or put pressure on that arm and wakes up during the night in pain.
His doctor was shocked and said in all his year he never saw such a bad case. He’s concerned of a blood clot forming. I blame the technician directly for causing this, thanks to her forcefully pulling the skin down, this causing injury to the vein and creating an internal bleed. Calls and messages to QUEST have been ignored and the only person who called me was a lady pretending to be the supervisor and she just gave excuses and didn’t actually address the complaint. I expect better service after their phlebotomist messes up! Please help me get Quest to apologize to my husband for this injury, and give that technician consequences.

Also, she kept insisting a freckle was a needle mark on my arm. I corrected her several times, but she kept insisting. I said firmly that it was a freckle. And then she took it back, saying if I was a user my arm would be all crazy looking etc. She also sat in a chair close to me with her legs spread and dragged me with the chair I was sitting in to in between her legs to draw blood and to check my blood pressure.
It made me very uncomfortable to the point I was sweating bullets. Especially considering I was alone with her in my office. I really wish they had used a less high strung and less deaf nurse. The funny thing is when I went to a co worker of the lead to ask can I get a number to make a complaint, she directed me to the lead and when I said she is the person I am complaining about she did not look surprised but gave me a card with a phone number which by the way did lead to any complaint department, but I believe she tried to get me correct or close to the right department. Also, while I was waiting (over 1 1/2 hours) I noticed several people trying to drop off specimens and did not know what to do since there was nobody to ask. So eventually they realized they had to log in the computer system and wait as a walk-in. If they were lucky to catch someone when workers came out to call the next person sometimes they got bumped to the top of the list.

I have been dealing with Quest for over a year. They will not send the claim to my insurance company. I have sent them copies of my cards, handwritten the claim address in big print, called them several times and had to be on hold for 45 minutes or more. They take the information and never send the claim. Now they have sent me to collections - without even ever filing the claim! I have been in medical billing and the healthcare industry for years, and this is the most negligent incompetent company I have ever dealt with. Now it will be past timely filing since it has been a year and 5 months since the date of service. I don't mind paying what is owed, but I pay for my insurance so it will cover services. Any suggestions on who to contact to report this terrible company? Thanks.

Horrible! Calling to get help with bills is always painful. Their billing costs are ridiculously high and NEVER pay a bill unless you call and make sure you are being charged the correct amount. I cannot tell you how many times I have paid only to realize they charged the wrong amount, it wasn't coded correctly, and even told me I have no insurance when it was really their issue with the billing. It is painful and if I had a choice I would NEVER use this lab. NEVER pay the first bill, ALWAYS call and don't make the mistake I have paying in trust the bill is correct-it NEVER is.

I am now paying a collections company because Quest cannot get the correct information over to the plan manager, Healthsmart for Cigna Insurance. Dealing with Quest has been a mind numbing experience - they are completely incompetent, lazy and assume no responsibility for not being able to properly file a claim with my carrier. I've been trying to resolve this issue for over a year.
Quest says they've filed a claim, Healthsmart and Cigna have never received a claim. If they had received a claim and it was denied, I would have received an EOB or explanation of benefits stating my claim was turn down. Instead, Quest bullies its customers into paying cash because their billing department is too lazy or incompetent to follow up with the insurance carrier or plan manager to have the claim paid for by them. This same issue occurred in 2009 when my wife had blood work done during her pregnancy. It took a year to get Quest to correct the billing code and file the claim correctly. I will never use Quest again. If a doctor says I can only use Quest. I will find a new doctor. It's a shame and ridiculous that I pay over 12,000 dollars a year for medical insurance (that I barely use) and cannot get a 250 dollar bill paid because the provider is too lazy to care.

My insurance only lets me use Quest Diagnostics. I made an appointment for a biometric screening (paid for by my employer) and for doctor ordered blood work. When I arrived, the phlebotomist took back for the test. She said she only had paperwork for the biometric screening, nothing else. I asked her to look again and she found the doctor's orders and was snippy and not apologetic. Then she said it would be $200 and how would I like to pay. I told her Quest could send me the bill, like they always do, because after Insurance makes their payment and adjustment I know it will not be $200. She told me that she could not draw my blood unless I gave her my credit card number. She treated me like I was some criminal trying to steal services from Quest.
The last time I gave Quest my credit card number my account got compromised and someone used my card to buy alcohol and hair products all over town within a week of me giving them my card. I will never give them my card again. When I told her I would not give her my card, she said that's fine and proceeded to do the blood work for the company-paid biometric screening. She stabbed me in my vein so hard and then put tape around my arm so tight that I have bruises all over now. I will NEVER go to Quest again. I don't know how they get away with treating people like this. The Phlebotomist should not be bill collectors, they should just be collecting blood.

My regular Dr. uses Quest labs when his own lab people are out or when they call in sick and no one is available. He's sent me to them 2 times before. The first time was about three years ago, and all I did was walk in, tell them my Dr.’s name, the took blood, and I walked out. No muss, no fuss. Earlier this year my Dr. sent me to Quest again, since his lab people didn't show up for work. I showed up, I told them my Dr.’s name and they asked "How do you want to pay"? I said "I'm here at my Dr.’s request, he uses you people when his are out. I never pay for this." She said Quest started charging for their services regardless of any doctors having contracts with them or not.
I got up to walk out, and all of a sudden her tune changed! She said "we can bill your insurance company". I told her that’s what they are supposed to be doing in the FIRST place, not trying to extort money from patients whose Dr.’s have contacts with them! Recently I went to another Dr. and he wanted a bunch of bloodwork done. He said he didn't have a lab, that he sends his patients to the Quest across the street that he has a contract with. So I show up to this Quest office and they want a credit card for payment!!! I told the woman I wasn't giving them my credit card, and that the Dr. said he had a contract with this office. She said it didn't matter, they needed a credit card. I told her my insurance pays for all of the tests and she said "we don't have proof of that". She said "We need proof from your insurance company that they will pay".
So I spent TWO HOURS on the phone with my insurance company who in turn got Quest customer service on the phone. We went through ALL of the different procedures the Dr. was asking for, and the Quest customer service guy said that ALL of the procedures are standard and are ALL covered by my insurance, so I won't have to pay anything. So I went back to the Quest office. They didn't even ASK me for my insurance information this time! They just put me in a booth and had my blood taken and then I was out of there! WHY DID'NT THIS HAPPEN THE FIRST TIME, LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TOO???
QUEST OBVIOUSLY IS TRYING TO EXTORT EXTRA MONEY FROM PATIENTS, EVEN FROM THOSE WHO HAVE DOCTORS WITH CONTRACTS!!! And even after spending hours on the phone with my insurance company and Quests customer service rep... Both of which told me I would not be paying anything out of pocket. I get a bill in the mail this week from Quest!!! I am going to have to tell my Dr.s they need a contract with an honest lab company! Quest is trying to extort money from their patients! I will NEVER set foot in another Quest office as long as I live!!! If my Dr. wants bloodwork done, he's going to have to do it himself or use a different lab company!!!

I have been using Quest Diagnostic for years and have never had a similar problem to this. I use them only because my specialist is part of a local hospital's specialty practice and requires them to use Quest. Last month I received a bill for 8 tests, 2 of which they said Medicare would not cover. I also have a secondary policy that covers any valid charges that Medicare does not cover and all co-pays. The bill for the 8 tests was for $843, of which Medicare paid for 6 ($62.78 -- writing off $522 as over the contracted amount). They want me to pay $238 for the two additional tests (Medicare rate is less than $20 per test). In addition, they have refused to submit the bill to Blue Cross (confirmed).
"Renee" told me that it is company policy that if Medicare doesn't pay that they expect me to pay the full amount. I got the Doctor to resubmit the diagnosis codes but apparently that wasn't enough. They apparently not resubmitted the claim either to Medicare, and Blue Cross just told me they have not seen it at all. Simple math says that Medicare paid 14% of what they charged, which matches other data readily available. I'm still fighting it but I shouldn't have to fight -- I'm diabetic who just had an emergency diabetes related hospital visit who has just been diagnosed with neuropathy. Checking my B-12 and Folic Acid levels would be a critical factor in discovering why I fall so much. But what do I know, "I'm just a 'dumb country preacher.'"

I get my results finally but, I didn't understand how the test had a negative reading when I was sure that it would be a "positive". Either way, I gave them a call and there isn't anybody on the other side. It just kept ringing and ringing. It was so frustrating. I called the # from the test result page stating call with questions, if you got them. I hung up. I called again later and again it just rang. Attempt #3 - it rang way too many times for a call service when someone is expected to answer.
Well, finally someone did. I was in shock and disbelief. She introduced the company as QD and then herself and asked what she could do for me..? I told her. She listened. She acted as if she was going to help me with my problem but, then she asked if I was the dr. or one of his staff? I said,"Neither" - I'm the patient. She put me on hold and... that was that. The phone went silent. She had hung up the phone. How rude. Not once but twice. I called right back. I went through the same drawn out steps as the first phone call as I did with the 2nd.
When I finally got through to an actual live person. I explained the situation, told her what had just happened and she said and did this -- "We don't talk to the patients. We talk to the dr." and hung up the phone. That's how I knew that she hung up the phone on the 1st call... I was prepared for giving her the benefit of the doubt but, when she hung up the 2nd time, it just confirmed the 1st time. Does anybody teach their employees good customer service skills, anymore, if so, do you survey them or review them to make sure that they're adhering to co. policy? It's rude and unacceptable and it should stop!! Company people should remember this regardless of what a company sales, makes, services... it's all employee run or robotic. My attention is for the employees.
A company is nothing without the consumer. If the co. can't keep the consumer happy due to the co. employees' behavior or qualifications are lacking, I would think as a co. that it would matter more to you that the consumer, that's floating your boat, is happy... hence checking your employees skills, retraining, or firing of such. There are too many qualified, unemployed people out there that would just love to have a job and love doing it well too, according to the co. policy. I'm going back to where I was treated better...

Then she started my stick... And even though I have a huge vein in my arm that has never been a problem for blood drawers over the years (I am 72 and have had lots of surgeries and tons of blood drawing), the stick hurt and she moved the needle around a few times until finally when changing tubes the stick really hurt and I jumped. Blood flew everywhere and she began saying out loud "you pulled back... This is your fault." I 100% disagreed and told her I wanted someone else immediately.
I did let the next male technician proceed with the other arm after stopping the blood from spurting in my left arm. He seemed reasonably experienced and said he had 5 years worth. So, I let him complete the blood draw and he was reasonably good at it. The lady technician was clearly "a fish out of water..." She had no idea what to do and no apparent ability. I cannot believe that she was hired by this company to do such an important job and yet she seemed to have no good skills at it whatsoever. I told the lady I have never received a bill. She didn't care. She told me she can't go further in the system unless I pay in full. I paid with my credit card. I am told I owe almost $200 and unless I paid right away, I can't get blood tests done. That's after waiting for 2 hours. I had to leave without having them done because I didn't have the full amount.
I offered to make a partial payment, despite not knowing what or why I owed, just I could get my tests done, they refused. Since it was the weekend, I waited and until Monday to call Billing. They admitted sending the invoices to an old address that I haven't used in 7 years. Despite making sure I confirm my address every time. I had applied for 2 different jobs, at 2 different Companies. I had taken a UA prior to going to Orientation with Company of choice Loudon. I ended up going with the 2nd company on these circumstances: I showed up at Loudon's Terminal and took a second UA the moment I went through the door. I (along) with others were sent into the restroom to submit our specimens. The collector did not look at the temperature on "any" of the containers, we sat our specimens down on a table alongside of "what we" thought were our paperwork. The collector was very busy flirting with one of the Safety personnel to know what was going on. She pulled the labels off of our paperwork, sealed the containers then had us to initial the label prior to putting into the shipping bag {My initials are NA, Not MW first of all, I'll explain further down how I found this out}.
Both of the UAs I had taken were examined @ a Quest Lab. First one in Tennessee & second was sent to Daphne Alabama. First one came back as passed, I listed same meds I was taking on the second UA. The second UA in Question that was sent to Daphne Alabama. {1st UA was back in 3 days.} The second UA was taken on a Monday, and did not get the results back until the following Tuesday or Wednesday, 8 to 9 days "AFTER" the collector had taken them. I called numerous Quest Labs and was told, {I recorded the conversations} a sample must be tested within a certain time frame, between 24 to 32 hrs "after" it was given. The Urine will start to get bacteria, and any prolonged testing with a lot of meds inside of the urine will, "as" 2 of Quest's employees put it "start to ferment," and should not be tested. The individual should submit to another UA sample!
By the Doctor or Technician's own words He did not get around to testing my (supposedly) sample until the 5th day "after" it was collected, and he ask me why I put the initials M.W. on my label. I told him that I did not do this. He pretty much called me a "Liar!" I listed everything that my Family Doctor had prescribed, including ** which will give a positive negative for ** etc. He then stated that I need to find another Doctor, for mine had done nothing but make a "Molotov" Cocktail out of me.
I in return relayed this to my Family Practitioner, (Who is the best Doctor I've ever had) I also told the Tech that since it took so long to get my results back that I had taken the other job, and that I told Loudon that I had Not accepting job/ Quit as of the Friday prior, and reaffirmed on the following Monday, "prior" to the results coming back. By Rule if I do not work for this company, anything that transpires, (short of stealing etc) cannot be held against me "after" I Quit. Further I was sent the bill for the UA by Quest, the company did not pay for it. I am sole owner of the UA, {If it was ever mine to begin with} I was advised of a Medication that "I WAS NOT TAKING OR PRESCRIBED" by this so called Doctor or Tech.
Since I make my Living Driving a Semi, it would be "STUPID" of me or anyone to submit to a UA Knowing that they were dirty, or had been taking illegal Drugs. I was 61@ the time I had taken this UA, and had been taking "High Blood" pressure Meds for 2 years prior, also if I had been taking ** etc, why was my Blood Pressure 138/79? It would of been so high that I would of had a heart attack or stroke! {I had a DOT Physical during same time frame for Loudon} I have upper respiratory problems as it is, and I was just getting over the Flu during this time, and yes I was on a lot of Meds and Vitamins, But "ALL" had been prescribed, not brought off the streets.
There were other issues, stemming from this "Tech/Doctor," he did not know that I have to submit monthly a UA to my Family Doctor {I have a Statement from stating that in 3 years I've "PASSED ALL" of my UAs and never tested positive for illegal substances plus the fact of the matter is this "Idiot Tech/Doctor" who tested this UA should have known Quest's procedure in testing UAs in a timely manner}. Yet my Doctor is the incompetent one, along with the "other" Quest Lab who did the UA Prior to taking the 2nd @ Loudon's Office.
Protocol was "NOT" followed from start to finish, Collector failed in not having me match the label numbers to paperwork, then initial, and "I was the one to peel it off and place on VIAL, not the Collector." Plus I was the person who should of placed the Specimen into the shipping bag along with the paperwork, not the collector. The Lab in Daphne Alabama should be ashamed to call themselves competent enough to examine anything pertaining to a Human Being! Protocol was not followed there either, especially when Quest's guidelines and rules on chain of command were not followed, when it took 5 days to start examining a specimen, and 8 days plus to complete, not to mention the errors knowingly made.
My life is ruined because of their incompetence and mishandling of one simple UA that I own. A False report was made by Loudon/Purdy on my DAC Report and I cannot get a job driving a Wheelbarrow, "a Company that did not hire me," behind the results coming in "AFTER" I had Quit/Not taken the job, not to mention incorrect and Falsified information given by Quest Lab in Daphne Alabama. Their website shows no report under my account. It has been a very frustrating experience for me. I called Quest headquarters one week ago and they were to call the supervisor at my lab in Hamburg, New York on Commerce Drive and have that supervisor phone me to let me know why (four) different times I was told my script was not there. My doctor's office faxed it (four different) times. To still not hear about my formal complaint (which I had to call headquarters again today, only to get headquarters supervisor’s voicemail, because he (Scott) was not in. Something should be done about the disorganization at that location. Sent home three different times...absolutely unacceptable. My doctor's office should get a formal apology and I should be informed of why (after four times) my script was not found.

Unfortunately I am required by my insurance company to use Quest Diagnostics for all my laboratory testing as they are contracted with them. There has never been a day that Quest has not sent me a bill for services stating it is patient due, all insurance info was provided to them with copy of insurance card, never once have they submitted any claim correctly, whether this was intentional or not is a good question. Each time I either called them or went to their website and provided once again all insurance info to once again receive a bill in the mail stating balance is patient due, it usually takes about 1 year to get the claim rectified.
Do they do this in hopes the patient gets frustrated enough and then just pays the bill so their credit isn't ruined? Possibly. I have called my insurance company to inform them of these questionable billing practices Quest Diagnostics practices so possibly they can reconsider their contract with this laboratory. Do I really think my complaints will be addressed? Probably not, more than likely Quest will continue these questionable billing practices and sadly they will probably receive money from poor hard working patients and from the insurance company, that's a win-win situation for Quest.

I called Quest several times to work with them to have insurance cover it by changing to the correct code. Each time I called I asked for them to change the due date to allow for insurance to process the claim. The first bill was due on January 2 but they pushed the due date back to February 10. Due to a rare genetic condition, both my son and I require frequent, almost weekly, blood and/or urinary tests and monitoring. When given a choice by the ordering physician, I always have the blood drawn (or urinalysis) at LabCorp. (I am NOT associated with LabCorp in in ANYWAY) If I may elaborate further. Quest has the audacity to charge customers $10 to access reports online through the patient portal. This is absolutely ludicrous. LabCorp provides anywhere, anytime, secure access to results on my mobile or desktop in easy to understand visualizations that virtually anyone should be able to understand. More importantly, this service is of no additional charge to their customers.
I've also noticed a significant deterioration in the quality of customer services (i.e., professionalism, timeliness, friendliness) at Quest facilities in the Alpharetta and Johns Creek GA. You no longer have staff to greet, sign-in and answer questions for arriving patients and phlebotomists serve this duty along with the clinical activities required. Ninety percent of the time (or more) the front desk at one office in Alpharetta is unmanned and clients must wait in hopes of a phlebotomists coming to the front to call back the next patient. It seems to me with the amount of money Quest is saving by not having someone at the front desk they can at least allow patient free access to their online medical records. I could not believe it when I logged in to download my results!!
The wait times are horrible, even when you have a pre-scheduled appointment. It seems the waiting room is always crowded and the facilities are short staffed regardless of the location. The staff are so busy I don't blame them if they are 'short' or stress once you finally get called to see them. I do recommend Quest take a look at their business strategy - having less staff is definitely taking a toll on their overall performance.

It turned out that they didn't. Went to Quest Diagnostics the same moment as we live close to the lab and the staff started to investigate.
After spending three hours there, they found that my blood was collected and taken to the lab and then thrown away. They said that the supervisor will call me the next day as it was around 7:30 pm. That next day was my doctor appointment. On our way, we received a call from their supervisor Katherine ** informing that a mistake happened and my blood order was thrown in the garbage and they don't know who did it. In a time the manager assured that they sent my husband blood work. So the nurses started calling Quest but in vain. No blood work was found. We had to wait for my next cycle to perform another blood work for both of us. During that period Katherine ** informed that she takes full responsibilities and that they will waive the charges in the first cycle. And that our next cycle blood work is for free as an apology from Quest.
Unfortunately nothing is free. We received so many bills so many notices worth $7000. We tried to contact her so many times. This is just adding to the heap of reviews from people who feel that this company has acted unethically, unconscionably, and without regard to what makes a good society. This company preys on the weak. They charge exorbitant prices when you have insurance, knowing full well that whenever there is confusion or dispute, the costs will be passed along to the powerless consumer who has no recourse. It is absurd that routine tests should have prices that differ based on the insurance that you have. No other industry works this way. If I go to the corner store and they tell me that a pack of gum costs 1000% of the market price, I can refuse to pay and go somewhere else.
What Quest did in this case is that I had routine blood work ordered by my doctor for an annual exam. Quest charged nearly $1000 to the insurance company, who then offered to pay them $114. They accepted. This means that they are doing tests that cost them less than $114 and charging nearly $1000. This is unconscionable, predatory, and unjustifiable. Of course, there was one test that my insurance company did not pay for and then Quest insists that I owe them $250. I am sure that they would accept less than $25 from the insurance company, but if I have to pay for it then it's 10 times as much. Makes sense, right?
I called them multiple times explaining that I needed more time to get the doctor's office to convince the insurance company that the test was "medically necessary" and they told me every time that they would give me another 30 days. Then, they sent the account to collections anyway only two weeks after my most recent phone call. I know that I am powerless, but any opportunity I have to hurt their business I will take it. I will forever insist that I only see providers that do not deal with Quest and if I ever have the option, I will insist that Quest not be given my business. I will encourage everyone I know to do the same. These are horrible people.

My teen has been there multiple times where the tech digs around for a vein pointing the needle in different directions going on & out like they have no idea what they're doing. Lastly, I have NEVER seen a tech wash his or her hands. And I mean NEVER! They put different gloves on between people but I see no hand cleansing going on. Background - I've been going to the Quest in Thorndale, PA for a very long time, and have yet to have ONE pleasant experience. Needles - my veins are very small and they should therefore use a small needle by default (Phlebotomy 101). When I asked about the needle size, I was told that I have to tell them EACH TIME I come in that they need to use a small needle on me. I asked if they can add a note to my account about always using small needles, but they said NO. On the visit where they used the big needle, my arm was bruised for 2 weeks. On another recent visit, I was injected in 3 different places, and left there taped up everywhere, it was ridiculous! That phlebotomist had been there over 20 years (she even stated that she opened that Thorndale office). I had to come back the next day to complete my blood work (hydration issues), but she also advised me NOT to take my blood pressure meds that night.
BP meds - I called my doctor about that and the nurse said that that was the craziest thing she had ever heard. 20 years of experience, really? Billing - be warned that when they do the intake paperwork, they will sometimes tell you that you owe them an estimated amount, and they give you a bunch of credit card options for payment. DO NOT ever pay them a dime!! Say "NO, BILL ME." Let them put the claim through to your insurance 1st. Only pay after your insurance has assessed what you owe. My labs are always covered at 100% by my insurance, and I never get billed a penny by my insurance after my visits to Quest. I made the mistake of paying them the estimate one time, that will never happen again! Also note that they won't ever voluntarily give you the option to bill you, but IT IS a valid option. I tell them that every time I go in and they don't ever push back/argue with me.
Employees - they are very very unpleasant and rough. I am not sure if they hate their job, their employer, or both. They all complain about everything under the sun. Several have complained about issue such as; having to rush to open other offices in the same morning, being short staffed, the lab request from the doctor has too many pages (really?).
Customer experience - the worse experience ever, and I have spoken to others who have visited other Quest labs, and they have shared similar feedback. Quest management, if you don't start treating your customers right, the Malvern, PA location will be the 1st of many to get closed. I have visited my last Quest lab this past week, and will be taking my business elsewhere starting next month. Location and convenience is just not enough anymore.

2) This what the experience that prompted me to write this review. I had blood taken using a direct order from my Doctor. A week later, my doctor informed me that Quest didn't take all of the blood that was on the order, so I had to go a second time. I tried to verify with the person taking the blood that everything was on the order, but she insisted that if something was missing it was the doctor's fault. Well, they got it wrong AGAIN! My doctor told me that they have constant complaints from patients regarding Quest and had me get blood taken elsewhere. I had to get blood taken different times when it should have been once!

I called several Quest Diagnostics locations multiple times and the employees did not answer. The message went straight to voicemail after multiple calls and the mailbox was always full. I finally got in touch with someone and informed them that the online appointment scheduler does not work. It will not submit my request. They cut me off when I was speaking and gave me a number that I had ALSO previously called and was a broken landline. I could not get in touch with a single person. Bottom line, customer service is a disaster.

Nobody EVER answers the number at my local office, a real problem since I want to ask questions about the local office. The toll-free number is a rolling mess of a thing to get where you want. There's something wrong with their system today. The automated system recording was loud enough to be clearly understood but the operators were all especially quiet (phone system problem). They say JD Power might call me. I hope they do. I will leave a scathing review.
I'm sorry, national numbers are nice for businesses whose locations aren't intended to deal with customers face-to-face, but a MEDICAL service, I should be able to talk to the location I would be attending. THE ONLY THING I can say is that the two operators I spoke to nice and courteous. Looking at the other reviews here, and their barely one-star rating, I am glad I canceled my appointment.

I arrived at the Quest Lab in Milford, MA. I had signed in and also shown them my credentials. They drew about 5 vials of blood. I receive a call from the doctor that they did not receive the labs. It was determined that the Lab had entered my name incorrectly (it indicated I was a male). They did not complete the order and nor did they send it to the lab. There was no follow up at all. When I called their customer service yesterday I was told that they would communicate with the Quest lab in Milford MA on Water St. I'm still pending a response. I'm shocked that this company is still in business based on the complaints that I'm seeing. They seem to provide a needed service, but their lack of follow up and their procedures to resolve issues is seriously lacking.

I had lab work done at Quest labs in 2/17. I told the lab tech that my insurance policy had changed. She looked at my insurance card and said, "no it's the same number". When I received the EOB from insurance company, that had that it wouldn't pay anything. So I called Quest and told them the problem. The lady I talked to acted like I didn't know what I was talking about and made me read the whole EOB to her before she asked for the correct insurance policy number. When I gave it to her she stated "oh that's the problem. Your number is different"... well duh!! Next month I received a corrected bill but it didn't show the discount from the insurance company. I called Quest again and told them the problem. They asked me to fax them the correct EOB. I did.
Another bill came 1-2 weeks later. It didn't show any changes. Another phone call to QUEST to go through the whole problem again. She asked me again to fax the EOB. I did. 1-2 weeks later, another bill. You guessed it. Same problem. Now I'm getting bills every week. I got a past due bill as I hadn't paid on it till they straightened it up. I even emailed them and faxed the EOB again. Called them 6/5 and they said they'd send me out a bill showing that I had a zero balance as I had since paid them and they were showing that I had. Today, 6/12, I received a new bill with the original amount of the bill ($1000+), not showing the discounted amount, nor the $200 they charged my charge card, nor the balance I paid them.
What does a person need to do to get things taken care of. I have written an email to their patient advocacy person now as I'm tired of dealing with them. Thinking of hiring a lawyer for the continuous harassment receiving now. Does anyone at Quest know anything? Either they do and their company is running a scam by trying to get more money. Or they're dumb. But everyone I talked to on the phone was very courteous. We shall see. But if you can avoid it... avoid Quest labs like the plague.

I have been talking to Quest billing department for bloodwork test I was billed for that my doctor did not order. I told them to take it off my bill and they said they wouldn't unless my doctor called them and told them to do so. I called my doctor's nurse and she said it was never ordered and my file shows it was not ordered. She also gave me a copy of what was ordered. I told this to Quest and they said it must have been called in at a later time over the phone. I told this to my doctors nurse and she said they always fax with doctor's signature to them. It is also documented in file. When I told this to Quest they still refuse to take off my bill. I asked them for the proof since they should have a copy of the order from doctor, which they do not.
I noticed also Quest has made changes. They no longer have a girl up front that handles the insurance and billing and logging information into computer for patients and their blood draw technicians. They now have their technicians type the doctor's orders along with the codes into the computer before they can draw your blood. Believe me, it now takes forever. Is there a person in charge like Vice President of Quest that we can talk to that will listen to us. Quest billing doesn't seem to care. I am in Panama City, Florida. Bloodwork is sent to Tampa.

I have had the most horrible experience with Phoenixville, PA location. Constantly understaffed, requiring you to wait long periods of time or come back. I couldn't get anyone's attention even to just drop off a sample. Once I was able to drop off the sample, they lost it. We had to re-submit, and then they billed us again. I spoke to numerous people in customer service, including the manager of this location, and he denied that they lost the sample, was totally unsympathetic, and I continue to get bills for the re-test. I will NEVER EVER go to any Quest location again.

I arrived with my son at 8:09 am to get blood work done before school. Although the building was open, the quest lab had no one available in reception until 8:30 am. The clipboard did not have a fresh sign in sheet prepared for the day. People were arriving early to get their labs done and I started a sign in sheet and placed it on their clipboard so that it would be clear what order patients arrived in. We stepped out for 15 minutes so my son could pick up lunch at Subway and when we returned at 8:25 am (before the lab was officially taking patients), the woman from Quest had removed our sign-in sheet and started a new sign-in sheet and had people sign in random order. She reprimanded me that we started a sign-in sheet (when she failed to provide one for the day!).
If this is Quest policy, not to have a sign in sheet prepared until the minute the lab opens for patients, it should change. A sign-in sheet should be available in the morning as patients arrive, not when the lab is ready to take the 1st patient at 8:30 am. We were the 1st ones to arrive and ended up 5th on the list after she caused the chaos. This was a very frustrating experience for us at Quest and my son did not have a chance to eat breakfast before school, after his labs, because we were 5th to be seen - instead of 1st, like we arrived. The patient names could have easily been transferred to her new sign-in sheet in the order that the patients arrived in, instead she chose to be spiteful. Extremely poor customer service. No wonder other Quest reviews reflect a 1-star rating out of 5-stars. It's time that Quest management implements more customer friendly policies and replaces the rude employees.

Over the past year, I have had 3 PSA blood test that came back high. The results of those scores brought several other types of costly scans and procedures. My Dr decided to have another lab test it because he could not find anything to be concerned about. The other lab came back with a perfect score, confirming what my Dr's diagnoses have been. Quest should pay for all the extra medical cost that I accrued because of their grossly misconstrued results. I am seeing that this is so typical of Quest labs.
