    We have now had our Sleep Number Bed for about six months. Quite frankly I had doubts about this product, mainly because of the heavy advertising on TV and in print media. Being a physician, this is a common reaction to any health or medical advertising direct to the public. However after purchasing two other new mattresses in one year, searching in vain for a really firm and durable mattress, I looked for a review of these in Consumer Reports. Sleep Number was highly recommended, both for firmness AND durability. In addition, the price was right.

    My reception at the Chattanooga, TN outlet was professional and with more attention to a customer's needs than to pressing for a sale. I tried a floor sample myself and then photographed the salesperson lying on the mattress. He was about the height and build of my wife who was not with me, and I wanted her to see the demo. Returning to the store two days later, I purchased the mattress with the feature of adjustable head elevation.

    We both need the maximum firmness and one which will not be lost with use. This was for comfort in the face of arthritis and fibromyalgia. We also needed the head elevation for esophageal reflux. Both medical needs were met with this mattress and bed. If another consumer needs advice on this area, it might be wise to consult your own physician. I personally recommend the product. Would I buy another in the future? Except for the 20 year repair warranty making it an unlikely need for us, the answer is yes. Thank you for this excellent product and service.

    My back doesn't ache when I get up in the morning. When we went to separate bedrooms after sharing a sleep number bed, the firm mattress was just not enough so I invested in another sleep number and it makes all the difference.

    BEWARE of this FU... company. They're lie and gave us wrong and untold info about 100 days returning policy and I'm sure everyone has same problem and this system it's ** and it didn't work and after just 2 days of using bring a lot headache and backache to me and my wife. And on 3rd days called customer services to return it and they're told me "our policy says you have to keep it for 1 month and call to make schedule for returning." And when I called after 1 month customer service says, "our policy shows eligible to refund just mattress and base should be keep it." It was crazy our $3749.99 for base. It's gone. When paid almost $7690 for this JUNK.

    So I was that customer that read all the positive and negatives about the Sleep Number bed. Well, we figured out after 1 day of having the bed, all the negative comments were true. After purchasing the bed, I was about to cancel the order. The salesman called me and said just try it out, you have 30 days. What a fool I am. I should have listened to myself! We had the bed 1 day and immediately called to have it taken back. We didn't sleep all night as it felt like we were sleeping on an air mattress that deflated. So after paying $5,568.23 for an air mattress and base, we had to then have this bed picked up and guess what, yes - we are now stuck with a lousy adjustable base for $2,549.99 - Yes, what fools we are.

    I am writing this review as I would tell you LET THE BUYER BEWARE! Don't be foolish like we were. If you do want to purchase this bed, have them take it apart at the store so you can see what is actually inside of the bed - foam and an air - and then you have to purchase the bedding for another $500 plus - If you do purchase the bed, purchase it without the adjustable base, it will save you from having a lousy base!!! I NEVER want to write a negative review, but this company seems to have amazing marketing techniques and lousy beds!

    The bed is nice, but I had a terrible experience with the store. They promised me the delivery crew would move the existing bed before they brought in the Sleep Number bed. THEY WOULDN'T!! When I contacted the store (during delivery) they acknowledged that they had made that promise - but there was nothing they could do now. I have contacted corporate TWICE - still no response. They got their money, no one cares.

    I bought my Sleep Number bed, one of the upper level models, a queen-sized one, in 2010. It has never been really a comfortable bed, more like an air mattress, even with all the coverings that try to mask the fact. Within 4 years, there was a crater in the center of the bed. If I laid on one side and put the number at 50 and on the other side and put the number on 50, the center would be a big pit. If I laid in the pit and hit 50, it would count up from 30 to 50. Then, the outside of the mattress would count down from 70 to 50. The air was moving around, always deflating in the center, pushing more air to the outer edge. Sleeping on a hill was impossible, so I put my bottom half into the pit in the center of the bed and top half along the high side. It was like sleeping in a recliner.

    I called and they said they would send me instructions to narrow the problem. They sent me three tests. It was difficult to manipulate and do the tests, but I managed. I told them the results and that I still had a problem, so they sent me about 6 more steps to literally take the entire bed apart, alone, a queen-sized bed. I told them I have no one to help me do this process of taking it apart and experimenting, I wanted someone to come to my home and fix it. No luck. I will never under any circumstances buy from them again and will go to great lengths to go public with the experience so no one else drops 2+ grand on an air mattress with no customer service.

    Purchased a p5 with sleep IQ. Paid the ridiculous $180 set-up fee to place some plastic bins and a blow up mattress into a bed cover. The technician also "set up" the sleep IQ that I paid for. Technician provided that the bed and sleep IQ were working before leaving, however the sleep IQ did not work. After multiple calls to the sleep IQ service department, I was asked to triage the issue myself: unplug from the wall, replug back in, wait the 5-10 minutes to reconnect, save a file to a USB drive and email it to us, then call us back, then they call me back and ask for more information, then wait another 24 hours, etc. The end result is the product doesn't work with comcast wireless modems.

    So let's recap: almost 3 hours of my time to troubleshoot the setup of an item I paid $180 to have set up for me (and was told was working before the technicians left). This whole experience is similar to going to a fancy restaurant, ordering a steak (and paying a ridiculous amount of money for said steak), and then being told to go cook it. I'll wait until day 99 and return the bed.

    One of the selling points of the bed is the 100 night trial. But I do not believe it is a meaningful trial because the base of the bed cannot be returned and you cannot try the bed without the base. Even though from a hygienic standpoint it would seem returning the mattress would be the big issue, they only allow you to return the mattress and you are stuck with a non-returnable "base." They don't even take it back with a restock fee. We paid $8000 for this mattress and trying it out for less than 30 days is costing us $3000.

    We honestly expected to LOVE this bed given its reviews and rating with Consumer Reports. Instead its flaws were just too numerous to ignore. My wife felt like she was sleeping in a robotic hospital bed. It felt nothing like it did in the store. We opted for an upgraded mattress - level 8 - and it did not feel comfortable to either of us. The machinery is MAJOR and we felt uncomfortable with the huge gap between the mattresses (split) and the headboard when one was up and one was down as we have small dogs. Also, when you elevate up you are pushed all the way to the edge of the bed, you feel like you will fall out of the bed. The bed has to be elevated to almost a 45 degree angle or more to stop snoring which does tend to wake a person up.

    In short, I really thought we were getting the Cadillac of mattresses -- never expected to be dissatisfied. I was totally sold. Instead I am stuck with a $3000 non-refundable base that I can use for nothing. Quite a fee for a trial I think. The mattress seems to work for many people and that's great. But don't buy it thinking you can try it out without a significant monetary penalty. Maybe one of these happy Select Comfort owners wants to buy a $3000 base? Right, I didn't think so.

    We have had the Sleep Number i8 for less than a month and it has not been a good experience since day 1. After dealing with customer svc for 3 separate occasions trying to find solutions so that I could sleep better and each time it was a colossal screw up, we decided to start thinking about returning the mattress. The sales lady ** at the Altamonte Springs Mall in FL said the bed was easy to return within 100 days. First lie we discovered was that you can't actually return it till you've slept on it for 30 days.

    After my 2nd phone call to fix the not sleeping issue we were told that "Oh you can return it but shipping is on you." Oh really thanks for being honest about that "NOT." Today after attempt number three to rectify not sleeping comfortably because the mattress never felt as comfortable as the one in the store I find out that by the way if you return the bed you can't return the adjustable base, it's not refundable. They will be nice to you at the store but the minute you are not happy with their product their whole attitude changes - they start screwing you out of whatever money you have invested with their bed systems. I am beyond pissed off and will be finding every review site I can to warn people about how deceitful they really are. Worst experience ever!!!

    Sleep Number technician was out to assemble what was supposed to be a brand new iLE model and as I was looking at all the different parts. I saw that the mattress bag was torn, nasty and soiled. I mentioned this to the technician and he called customer service and the lady that took the call told him to ask me if I would just accept it and then be sent out a new one as a replacement. With the outbreak of bed bugs - well, why would this woman even try to convince me to accept or sleep on a nasty soiled mattress. I really don't want to say what I believe this is.

    They shouldn't even have attempted to bring something like that to anyone's house and try to convince them to keep it. This order was pennies from being $6000 but I am not pleased at all with the customer service and I want to be either compensated or I want a total refund - including the pillows, mattress cover and pad, which are unused, wrap securely and this is how every part should have come to my house. I have a picture if you will like.

    I purchased my i8 King Size Sleep Number bed in 2011. Actually bought two beds... the other was an i2 for the guest room. Hate it both!!! Tried every setting and the back and hip pain is not to be believed. Both of us that share the bed have the same problem. Tried anywhere from a sleep setting of 30-100. We travel a lot and when we are in hotels, our back pain/hip pain is gone. When the bed is at a low setting, you sink in a hole and can't turn. I often sleep on the sectional in the family room so I can get a good night’s sleep.

    Customer service has been no help from the beginning. They offered a memory foam topper that would "really help". I was excited until the customer service rep said it would cost me. I had to buy it. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought one for $350 (1/2 of what they wanted to charge me). Multiple calls went unanswered. It has been my pleasure to tell people how much I hate my bed. Since I spent thousands of $$$ on these beds, I have been saving to go back to a top of the line innerspring. Customer service was rude and once your purchase is made, you are on your own and no one cares unless you agree to spend more money. What a scam! I can't believe so many people like these air mattresses! Delivery guys were great! Set up was fast and easy. Looks great! But sleep hurts. So does my wallet.

    Have had my bed for 2 years now and I am very disappointed in it. Cannot get comfortable at all. Wake up with back pain every morning. I will never tell anyone to buy one ever. Give me back my waterbed. I sleep better on a couch. Worst money I ever spent. Going to buy a new bed but not a Sleep Number ever.

    I am very pleased with my King Size Sleep Number bed. I am a big guy and I used to wake up with lower back pain and aching hips. On my Sleep Number bed, I sleep better, longer and awake with no more pains. My Sleep Number is 45 and this distributes my weight evenly allowing for good sleep.

    In 2012 my husband & I bought our first Sleep Number bed & have not regretted one ounce in our purchase. Since buying our bed I have had a couple surgeries & having the bed has made recuperation so much better. Last year we bought the temperature overlay & OMG what a great sleep, especially when I have hot flashes at night.     We bought a bed from Sleep Number on 104th and Grant St in Colorado and it does nothing but hurt my back and hip. We were told we had 120 days to return if we did not like it but some guy down there told us it was 90 days. We paid over 6400 for this bed to be able to sleep and I have tried every setting for the 3 days like the book says and does not help - maybe a little bit some days and the same with my wife **. We called them around 3 days after the 90 day period and they would do nothing. Out of sight out of mind. Make sure you give back before the 90 days and do not buy the single split that is awful.

    My wife and I decided to buy a new mattress and box spring. My wife has a friend that has a Sleep Number and said she slept very good. So we went to a local store and spent over $4000. When installers arrived I freaked out due to this $4000 purchase is nothing but an air mattress. We talked about returning but decided to give it a chance. We have now had the bed for around 4 years and the bed is not comfortable. My wife now has to sleep on another bed and my back hurts every morning. Once I get up and moving the pain goes away.     I own an innovation model of the sleep number bed and very happy with the bed. I buy all bedding accessories from Sleep Number because I like the good quality that the company offer. However, I recently bought a set of cotton King Size sheet for our bed in the store 527 (Irvin, CA). I didn't get a chance to use it until about over a month ago. After my first wash, the red patterns on the white sheet were bleeding out all over the sheet. I contact the warranty department and they told me that color bleeding was not cover under the warranty. I was rather disappointed with the answer I was given and with the quality of the sheet. I was not expecting such a low quality product was sold by Sleep Number.

    For years I've had chronic back pain from scoliosis and 2 bad hips. Numerous mattresses, including the memory foam did nothing to alleviate my pain. I constantly tossed and turned during the night with poor sleep, always being tired the following day, often requiring me to take a nap.     Me and my wife used to have a Tempurpedic Mattress and adjustable bed base. In spite of being the hardest one on the market my wife and me were very disappointed because she was not happy because it was too soft for her, and she was always complaining that it felt like she was being "sucked in". Me on the other hand was not completely happy because it was in reality too hard for me. We were not sleeping well!!     I have owned my Sleep Number iLE model bed since last November (2014) and have found it to be a very comfortable bed. It is a flex-fit king. The adjustable frame works well too. The adjustable frame is particularly helpful if you like reading in bed, as I do. I have adjusted the sleep number some and settled on a 40 sleep number. For me, that seems to be best balance between support and comfort.

    The one area where I am less than satisfied is in the value of the Sleep Number sheets. I bought two sets of the Lyocell sheets when I bought the bed since they were on a 50% off sale. Even then, they were $175 each. Frankly, I can't imagine paying the full price for these sheets, so I will look for future sales if I am to buy more. Unfortunately, no one else seems to make sheets for a Sleep Number FlexFit King except Sleep Number.

    While the sheets are soft and comfortable, they also feel very flimsy and show substantial wear after just 6 months. I will be amazed if they make it through a year without my needing to replace both sets. I will try to find an oversized, regular deep pocket, high thread count, cotton sheet set when next I buy sheets to see how that works. I would greatly prefer for Sleep Number or someone else to offer a high thread count (800-100) cotton sheet set for this bed at a reasonable price. $350-400 for these flimsy Lyocell sheets is ridiculous.

    My wife and I bought a spring mattress 4 years ago, and had to replace it last year. We shopped around quite a bit and decided we felt Sleep Number was best for us. It is a choice we have been happy with. Within the first 3 nights on the bed my back pain went away. After about 3 weeks the tossing and turning from both of us went away. The sales person at the store was informative but not pushy and the install crew was on time and left 0 mess. We should have gotten a Sleep Number bed a long time ago.

    I have been mostly happy with our Sleep Number bed since we purchased it approximately 5 years ago. When we purchased it, we were told, "This is the bed for you, as it's a parts bed. When things start needing replacement, just call up the company and make an appointment and you can pay to have someone come out and replace the parts." I thought this was a great idea, but when I called the company tonight to get parts replaced, they told me they could send out a crew for 179.99 BUT they would not have any parts with them. They would look at the bed, write down the parts I needed, and then they could return for another $179.99 with parts. Not telling how much the parts would be...

    I never got that far with **, the customer service guy. I asked ** if he thought it was stupid for a crew to come out to replace parts in a bed and have absolutely no parts with him. At least he had enough common sense to say, "Yes, but that's just the way the company works." Suffice to say, I will not be getting another Sleep Number bed EVER, and in fact, I plan on replacing it this weekend with anything BUT Sleep Number.

    My husband and I purchased the king size split sleep IQ bed from the Opry Mills store in Nashville Tn. We spent over 9k for this bed. But figured it was time for a new bed, and with us both having back issues it would be a good investment. The salesman at Opry Mills was nice and said he would help with the cost and give us several discounts, plus we were told we had 100 nights to sleep on the bed and if we were not happy, it was a no questions asked full refund except for the bed sheets, which is understandable. The bed was delivered yesterday, and as the delivery men walk in, the first thing they asked was if we had register the bed. I was not sure if my husband had done this or not. The delivery mans states "if you don't know then we might as well stop now cause we can't go any further."

    I had to contact my husband while he was at work... He couldn't recall at the time if he had or not and was ill that he was having to deal with such a small issue while he is trying to work. (He is a producer and was in a recording session at the time.) Finally the delivery man gives me a website to get the bed registered and starts installing the bed. After registering the bed I walked to the room, the bed was almost done being installed. I asked them where the bed skirt was for the bed, (Cause that one thing I made clear to the salesman I wanted was a bed skirt that attached to the bed, no more dealing with the bed skirts sliding off when putting on bed sheets) I was told we did not order that, and to contact my salesman.

    Talking to the salesman he informed me this was his error that he took it off to help keep the price low (without informing us he had done so). Needless to say, I was less than happy with this issue, so I contacted customer service and was offered 200.00 off of 899.99 for the price of the skirt. This was unacceptable as this was clearly the salesman's error and I’m not spending anymore money on this already 9k bed! I was transferred to a supervisor, she then offers me half off for the skirt, but now the skirt price is 999.99. I told them no, I was not spending anymore money on this bed, and why is the price changing? Odd…

    I contacted my salesman again to see what he could do, since in earlier conversation he admitted it was his error! This time he denies saying that and says there is not much he can do to help with this issue, I informed him this seems like a bait and switch deal. He didn't say much to that comment. (Wonder why? Cause its seems to be how this company runs). So I inform him that we needed to make arrangement to have the bed returned then cause I was not willing to pay this price for a bed that looks horrible (and fyi you can't just put a regular bed skirt on this bed, due to the mattress the screwed down in places to the bed frame).

    He then informs me that "we will call customer service" and call me back. He call back tells me he got them to lower the price of the bed skirt from 799.99 to 499.99… That’s 3 DIFFERENT prices quoted to me on the same item. When I informed him of that, he said he would contact his district manager and get back with me. I have yet to hear back from him.

    After sleeping on the bed last night which my sleep IQ informed me, I was restless and only slept for 22 mins. My mind was made up that even with all the issues with the bed skirt etc, this bed is horrible and SOOO uncomfortable!!! And I was returning it, and would be happier with a normal firm mattress that doesn't cost as much as a used car. Contact customer service this morning to arrange for return and THEN and ONLY THEN was I informed that the bed frame (almost 5k in cost) is NOT returnable. And to use with regular mattress some part would have to be purchased to hold a regular mattress. They are now sending a different mattress out and more foam, and also our other remote that was not enclosed that was suppose to be.

    Needless to say this has been a horrible mistake and costly mistake buying this bed. 2 days wasted on the phone, time is money... and the end result, I’m stuck with a bed that cost way too much MONEY and I do not enjoy sleeping on. We will inform everyone we know in the music industry to NOT purchase this bed. Not only for the fact that it’s uncomfortable, but a company this big and has this kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Don't waste your hard earned money!!!

    On September 1st, 2014, my boyfriend and I went to the Fashion Square Sleep Number retail store located at 14006 Riverside Dr., Space 229, in Sherman Oaks, CA, to purchase a Sleep Number bed (FlexFit3 adjustable base for P5 mattress) with an adjustable base that would allow us to rest in zero gravity. During our consultation, the salesperson, who was also the store manager, was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with, helping my boyfriend and I select our new mattress. We chose the Sleep Number P5, explaining to the salesperson/manager we wanted the adjustable base with zero gravity. He immediately filled out our paperwork, stating that the mattress was returnable but the adjustable base was not.

    When the financing was complete (from Synchrony) and paperwork ready, I was startled to see that the adjustable base was charged at $2,199.99. That seemed to be a lot, so I asked our salesperson about it. "You want the adjustable base, correct?" he asks. Yes, I explained, "We do want the adjustable base and not a standard base."Well, that's the price for the adjustable base," said the store manager. I couldn't argue if those were my options, so I signed.

    On Friday, September 12, 2014, the delivery truck arrived with our new bed. We left the technicians alone to set up until they called us in to show us how to work the remote, explaining "This is how you turn on the VIBRATE feature and the UNDER-BED LIGHTS!" When I told the delivery men that I would never, EVER(!) order a bed that lights up like a UFO or vibrates like a cheap hotel room, one of them laughed and said "They really got you, gave you the top-of-the-line."

    Later, when I went to Sleep Numbers website, I was surprised to find that they have THREE adjustable bases. Not once did the salesperson/manager mention that there were choices in the adjustable bases with varying features and differing prices. I feel this representative of Sleep Number purposely misled me by stating that there was only an adjustable base and a standard or non-adjustable base, and then charged me for the most expensive base with all these unnecessary features.

    When I called the Sleep Number customer service department, their response was: "You should have refused delivery if that was not what you ordered." I explained that I didn't feel that was possible since they'd already unpacked and set up the bed, and also, the paperwork clearly states that the adjustable bases are non-refundable. The customer service rep concurred and restated the non-refundable policy, stating there was nothing that Sleep Number would do. I feel like being politely unresponsive is terrible business strategy and that the behavior exhibited by their sales floor manager is despicable and unethical.

    I have issues with my back and hips so getting a good, restful night's sleep is almost impossible. We had a top of the line Stearns & Foster mattress and although it gave me a much better night's sleep over the previous bed set that we had, I was still waking up in the morning with some aches and pains. We purchased an I8 Sleep Number with the adjustable headboard about 3 months ago and the overall improvement in my sleep is dramatic. I don't toss and turn near as much as had previously. My Wife can use just about any setting while my preference is 75 - 80 on my side. I still experience some minor aches that I'll have to live with until I have surgery to correct the issues but I can honestly say that I am getting the best nights sleep that I've experienced in a LONG time.

    We like it so well that we've purchased a Sleep Number mattress for our 5th wheel trailer. It supposedly came with a "top of the line" Black Label brand mattress that we added a 4" Memory Foam layer to, but it was still way inferior to the Sleep Number. We love the adjustability on the mattress firmness and that above all else is probably the top selling point for their brand. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is true in this case. The mattress and adjustable frame were just under $5,000 so it is pretty pricey but based on 1/3 of your time is spent in bed per day, it's worth every penny. I highly recommend the Sleep Number, try it and you'll see what I mean.

    We slept on Tempur-Pedic mattresses 6 years. During such time we experience aches and pains and many nights of restless sleep. Last year we did a Demo on the Sleep Number and was convinced that this is the bed we wanted. Since then we have really enjoyed sleeping on the Sleep Number. This is such a different experience of joyful sleep throughout the night and to wake up restfully. We do not have the time or money to experiment with mattress bed out there but as far as we are concerned, the Sleep Number is the best out there for your money.

    I purchased a sleep number. Paid over 3000 just to hear air mattress run all night. It was so uncomfortable on all numbers. So I lost delivery twice. Once for delivering 199 and pick up 199. I found a foam mattress for 600 and never been happier. Don't waste your money! When I wrote my review on Sleep Number, they deleted and sent me an email and said they could not use my review!

    Purchased the Queen size ILE mattress during the President's day sale for $3,358 including a few accessories. The sales staff at the store, delivery, installation, etc... was all fine. I've not had the same experience with customer support. We decided to purchase this because our old bed was almost 13 years old and my wife was having back problems. My wife's back has been better, mine not so much but maybe I just don't have it dialed in just yet. That's not the reason for the negative review. A month and a half in I go to bed one night and my side is completely flat. The remote still seems to think it is on 100 as I set them to 100 once a week to avoid leaving impressions as I was instructed by the installers. I try to inflate it back up but it will not work. Contact customer service which I have to do via web chat because it's Sunday and they don't have people available on the phones on Sunday.

    They have me try a few things and determine they think it is a bad pump. They tell me 2 day Air is the fastest shipment method available to them and it will be there by Wednesday. It shows up on Tuesday and seems to be working after having to call customer support again for a few issues with the remote and the pump's cloud service (Sleep IQ) not working. An hour later it is completely flat again. I thought maybe I just didn't have the hose attached firmly so I double check and inflate again. Again, it's flat in about an hour.

    Wednesday I call them again, and I'm told to inflate the side that is leaking and put the cap on it, not the hose. I should try sleeping with the cap on it for 48 hours and call back if it's still leaking. Flat an hour later... At this point I'm over it and ready to return this bed, my wife is also frustrated and calls the store where we bought it from. They were very helpful and even offered to personally come out to the house on Friday to troubleshoot the problem but could not guarantee they would have the parts to fix. In talking with him we determine it is the Air chamber that needs replaced. He even called customer support and explained to them the issue so when I called in again there was no further investigation/troubleshooting required. I call them back and they agree to ship me the new Air chambers via GROUND SHIPPING.

    At this point I've already been sleeping on the couch for 4 days, now she is telling me it will be another 5-7 days. Only after I complained about it did she agree to ship it next day air but it would take "a day or two" to process before shipping. So here we are on Friday, no air chambers and its expected to deliver on Monday. That is 9 days on the couch when I just spent $3300 for a new bed. Am I the only one who has heard of overnight shipping?

    The price of the pump they sent was listed as $499, the price of the air chambers was listed as $376. It is all covered under warranty for now. However, having these problems this soon after purchasing does not make me feel great about the next "25 years" of its lifetime when the warranty starts to decline in coverage and I will have to incur those costs. I will likely be calling next week to return it and be out several hundred dollars which was explained to us when we purchased it so it's not a surprise. Will not purchase another and will not recommend it to anyone else either.

    We purchased our Sleep Number several years ago. And have been loving it ever since. I have a bad back and my wife has back issues. And when I wake up in the morning my back does not hurt. The selection of bedding is also great. The in balance sheets and mattress pad are wonderful. When she's too hot I'm just right, when I am too cold she was too hot, now with in balance sheets we're both just right.     We purchased our Sleep Number King i8 nearly 5 months ago. In addition to loving the added room & comfort of a king sized bed vs. a queen, we enjoy being able to adjust our individual Sleep Numbers to our exact comfort level. I can honestly say though that I do not experience the great night's sleep that I expected on a regular basis & have tried to adjust my sleep number to compensate. The memory foam layer also tends to keep the bed on the hot side. They will of course, sell you a cooling layer as I'm sure they've realized this is an issue.

    We also ordered the adjustable base & the Sleep IQ, but find that sleeping flat is our most comfortable position. We do enjoy occasionally watching TV in the no gravity position though! We purposely did not order the split mattress as that would cut down on cuddling. The Sleep IQ is "OK", but still in its primitive stages, in my opinion, not necessarily worth the extra $$. Many times the IQ is not accurate, not updated to the correct date at least once per week & reading the wrong Sleep number setting.

    Purchased a queen bed, mattress pad, 2 foam pillows. Cost over 2,000.00. Delivery was missed twice, was given a waiver of delivery fee. So far so good. Not happy with bed, back ache each morning after about 5 days. Tried different settings. Never contacted by salesman until I mentioned to company about not being contacted, then received a call asking how I was enjoying the bed, lol. 27 days into bed I called and told them I did not want it, told I had to keep 30 days and was offered more foam to try on the overpriced air mattress, I declined the foam.

    After 30 days called back to return and was informed I was to pay return shipping. Given 3 choices of cost, I believe they were prepaid UPS label & I provide materials, they provide materials and charge me for boxes and shipping or pay 200.00 for the delivery guys to pick up (funny but they were on time and date to pick up, actually a little early). I chose the latter as it was most expense but a lot less hassle.

    Make sure delivery people leave the boxes when they set up in case you wish to return later, will save you some money. I got stuck with a 500.00 bill because of 2 pillows @ 75.00 each we were told we needed (which are now as flat & lumpy as the 30.00 ones we had, lol), a 265.00 mattress pad we had to purchase or void warranty (be sure to read the fine print before you sign and purchase), and the return shipping fee. Overall one of the most dissatisfied purchases I ever made. Please read all the paperwork before signing and be sure to keep all the boxes when they deliver.

    Service at the Rancho Cucamonga, CA store seemed great and we purchased an i8 for over $8,000. When the bed arrived today, although the technicians were professional, they could not get half the bed to work and had to order new parts. There is a huge gap between the bed and the headboard with the brackets they gave us, our bed skirt would not work as we were told it would and we had to run to the store to buy rubber casters instead of the felt ones we were told to have. We were sent a survey right after the purchase which was incredibly premature because although we gave high ratings, we are now very dissatisfied customers.

    Not real happy customer. For $3600 expected more. Bed makes noise (like an old rusty innerspring). Can't really use the tilted head as I can't sleep on my back (although my wife would like to) -- maybe the split would have been better. Don't use the vibrate - too loud and not very smooth. Extra charge ($40) for headboard bracket was a waste as it's not close enough to bolt on anyway. We had a Sleep Number about 10 years ago - seemed to be constructed much better then.

    Thank you for all your help. I finally found boxes that I made work. I wish I had the option to keep the boxes when the bed was delivered. The delivery guys ripped up the boxed to open them and took the remember ta with them. I would recommend letting your delivery guys know to not rip the boxes apart and to leave them with the customer while they are in the trial period. It would have saved me $30 in boxes.

    I purchased the P5 bed model on President's day weekend. I paid $2500 up front and financed the rest which was $276. I was hoping to pay it off right away and maybe it would help my credit. I got a statement that I owed the $276 and another statement saying I would be billed through the financial company for an addition amount of $3,688.50. Wait what???? I called the financial company, the store I purchased the bed from (Vintage Fair Mall in Modesto Ca.) and the Sleep Number's corp office. Oh surprise the Sleep Number store and their corp office said it was not in their records and so they could not help me and the financial company said "Sleep Number billed them so they would have to fix it." (back and forth, back and forth)

    After a month and a half of calling both companies numerous time they figured out that after my purchase another customer's purchase was charged to my card. Wait how could my private information be used? They said they would refund me $215 for the inconvenience. Well I asked to return the bed. The customer service talked me into accepting the $215 and told me to take more time trying out our bed and then return it if I wanted. I accepted the money and told him "I would talk to my husband about the situation." We rather not do any business with this company anymore but when I said I want to return the bed they are still going to charge me for return shipping and I don't get back my delivery shipping. They already refunded me the $215 so just give me the back the $2285.00. How can they allow staff to commit fraud and I have to suffer?

    Salesperson was very nice, spent a lot of time helping me find perfect mattress. Was told sale was ending soon, after that free deliveries will no longer be allowed by the company. Told her about possible delivery issue, about mattress not fitting in stairwell and needing to be lifted through second story balcony. Was told it's not a problem. I scheduled delivery, and also told the person on the phone about my delivery concerns. She told me it'll be no problem and movers will figure it out. Delivery people were very nice, took one look at the situation and said it's impossible.

    Mattress comes in boxes, but the base is 150 pounds and they can't lift it up through upper level loft. They called customer service for me and cancelled my order. I was told if I wanted to return all the sheets and accessories, I would have to pay for shipping, so I took it back to the store. Once there I informed the sales person why my order was cancelled. But as I waited for her to finish up a sale, I found it interesting that she also gave that customer free delivery, even though she told me that was no longer going to be allowed. So either she was misinformed, or she lied to get me to purchase quickly.

    She then refunded my entire purchase to the line of credit I opened up, minus 2 pillows I was stuck with because I already opened and started using them. The pillows are fine after the nasty chemical smell dissipated, but I would've preferred to return those also. My biggest problem is that I paid $500 cash at the time of purchase. She told me to call customer service and they would refund me via check. I called, the person didn't know what to do. She took my contact info and said she would talk to a manager.

    I received a message saying I should receive a check in 7-10 business days. I waited, received nothing. I called back on the 10th business day. The customer service person didn't know what to do. He told me he would resubmit the request. I got tired of waiting, and decided to call synchrony financial. The automated voice said I (STILL) had a credit on my account, and easily allowed me to request a check. It really appears that the sales staff, and the customer service reps have no idea what the company's policies are.

    I also question the integrity of everyone I dealt with in this matter. Everyone told me they would take care of this problem, but apparently nobody has. It's been one month now, since I paid cash for something I never received. I find it ridiculous how difficult it is to get my money back. I can't rate the actual product, but the experience I had with the company has turned me off completely.

    Bought Sleep Number mattress. Since it is different technology, they advertise "100-day no risk trial". I bought the mattress and it did not work well for me. When I asked for a return they said that I can only return the mattress, not the motor system that I bought with the mattress, and other items such bed sheets, mattress pad. Mattress cost is only $1199.99 (plus tax) out of the total purchase of $ 4713.95 (plus tax). So I am out approximately $ 4000 for "TRYING THEIR MATTRESS FOR 45 DAYS!!"

    I have had back surgery twice and have chronic low back pain. My husband has low back and left hip pain. Neither one of us could sleep through the night. We replaced our old mattress with a Tempurpedic-type one, thinking that would help. Back pain actually increased. We gave that mattress to our daughter and purchased a nice Serta. No noticeable change. We were constantly exhausted from lack of sleep. We finally decided to bite the bullet and sprang for the Sleep Number.

    I'm not gonna lie, we spent a bit over $6,000 for a king size dual adjustable, which I thought was a staggering amount to pay for a bed. BUT, I'm now able to sleep through the night and wake up without back pain. My husband previously could only sleep on his back due to his hip pain, but can now sleep comfortably on either side. I'm a 35 and he is a 60. The fact that we can customize our sides to suit us is invaluable. I have recommended the Sleep Number to 3 other couples, one of which already purchased theirs and have had the same experience we did. If you have the means, it is worth every penny!

    Best king bed mattress I've ever owned and it's been nearly 10 years. Only problem has been recently, when I began losing air in a chamber. I looked online and tried what was recommended to no avail. Then I called and learned there is no "repair" service folks, and when I questioned the lack, she grudgingly advised that they will send an install team out to assist. This team will evaluate the issue for which you pay 149.00 upfront. (I had to call and request the e-mail me the receipt for my payment as I never received it after a week or more.)

    When I questioned the process to make sure it would be handled in one call, I was told that these install teams do not carry parts, which seems questionable. She told me they will evaluate the issue and then order the necessary parts and then come back to install them - seems that if they can find the bed model number there ought to be a way to avoid necessitating a second trip and now I'm wondering if I'm going to get hit with another fee. Anyway, I love the bed so I'll deal. Then after taking my money, I learn the real issue is when you try to schedule a time - the customer service rep flatly told me Sleep Number will not guarantee a time but will guarantee a range of time, so I scheduled for April 10th 2015, 8 am to 12:00 pm.

    Apparently, a range of time is not guaranteed either - I got a call April 9th telling me the new time which conflicts with appointments I made specifically around the time I was originally given. When I protested, I was again coldly told that now they would not guarantee a range of time. If I want service, then it has to be when they get around to it and that's that, so… apparently, mine is their time to waste and I get to pay for it! Absolutely no consideration for the impact on customer's schedule. This grudging, cold and unfriendly lack of customer service leaves a lot to be desired for the customer that's paying their salaries. If there were any other option to repair this bed, I'd go in that direction just to avoid dealing with the situation.

    Happily, we live in a free market economy and I'll be exercising my choice based on this annoying experience. This lack of customer service for their product is a big consideration for the many people like me who own a bed they need help to move let alone repair. I'll be in the market for another bed soon and planned to buy the split king, but this experience is definitely forcing me explore other options that back up their product with available, friendly, considerate customer service. Get real - who would purchase anything at upwards of $6,000 with no customer service on that 10 year "guarantee". Really Sleep Number, how hard is it to guarantee a range of time? My other service providers do so with great efficiency and user friendliness. Very disappointing!

    My wife and I purchased a "Split King" From "Sleep Number" and have found the sheets do not last. We purchased two sets of "Lyocell Split King sheets" which cost, after discount, $154.99 per set. The sheets are tearing and becoming thinner. These are the worst sheets we have ever seen or used for that matter. You would think that they would provide a better quality product after all the hype that give about their products being "the top of the line." After spending almost $8000.00 for their products we didn't even receive a telephone call from them inquiring about how we liked the bed and if we were satisfied or had any problems, etc. Nothing, nada, zip fro Sleep Number.

    If you call the store you automatically receive a taped message that they are with a customer and will get back to you. On numerous occasions we have walked past the store, which is in a mall, and saw absolutely no customers therein. It appears that once you buy from them that you become forgotten. All we can say is do not buy inferior sheets from this company.

    My husband bought us a sleep number bed as a gift. He watched video's regarding the bed and was convinced the bed would be perfect for us. After spending an embarrassing amount of money, we now have an uncomfortable air leaking waste of hard earned money. I would tell anyone who is considering this bed they are better off buying a cheap air bed and throwing a heavy blanket over the top, because it is pretty close to the same thing! I'd like to know how they can get away with saying it relieves pressure points because in my experience it created them. My back, legs and hips hurt horribly. We replaced the "air junk" with a memory foam bed and are now satisfied. What a total waste of money.

    After a few weeks of decreasing the bed comfort number I was told by a technician that I needed to be at 35-45 as I was a side sleeper. After two nights at 45 I had sciatic pain on my left lower back and night 3 woke up with back spasms. I called to return the bed and was offered to purchase accessories to improve the bed (I paid $1300 for this bed so I think for that price I should be able to sleep on it.). I learned to return it I would have to pay $199 to have it picked up or for $99 I could buy UPS postage but I had to provide my own boxes. I paid $119 to have the bed delivered and the men gladly took the boxes with them. It will cost you at least $200 to try this bed. Be Honest. Tell people this BEFORE they buy the bed.

    I have owned a Sleep Number bed for over 2 years now. My parents have had one for years and recommended it. I loved the bed but my SO wasn't sleeping well due to medical issues. So we went down to the local Sleep Number store to talk to them to see if they had anything that might help. After describing what was happening during her sleep, he took us over to see an adjustable bed called FlexFit. This bed has a medical style base that will raise and lower the head and foot of the bed. We decided it might just be what we need so we bought it with the i8 mattress. Although very expensive, it has been a godsend to her, helping her get a good night's sleep.

    Near Xmas I purchased the c3 bed and base. Problems in order of occurrence: Adjustable base displayed in stores hides size of base. False advertising with the base is the first complaint. Bed was so poorly made it was ripping at all the tufts within 2 months. Bad quality reason for return but had to fight not to pay $200 pickup fee. Return pickup -drivers took the base connectors. Paid $1388 in cash and now only told me of refund to higher balance card.

    Contract states "refund will be issued to original method of payment! I paid with a debit card and have right to receive it back the same way. Sleep number shouldn't be able to choose how to pay my synchrony card! Synchrony Bank stated to try to fix with store. They are unaware of highest balance process. Sleeping on couch until get cash. Sounded sleep than on c3 but have leg & back pain. Need pain meds and adjustments to work.

    We purchased in Dec 2014, delivered 26th. It broke 29th. Called customer service and we could return the $4000+ bed or have it repaired or upgrade when we thought we purchased the latest greatest model. After paying for delivery and the picking up of the bed at 392.57 out of our pockets, we were told another credit would be issued for the mattress cover and pillow of 231.09. I just got off the 4th phone call with sleep numbers and synchrony bank to see where our credit it is and it is still pending. I received an email confirmation that the pillows were at the warehouse and a credit will be issued. Now the story is they never received anything. I disputed charges on the bank financed and they said nothing has been done for a month. Sleep numbers is looking into it again. This was the worst purchase that has cost us almost $400 for having a broken bed and no credit. They don't stand behind their products or the purchases or credits!!!

    The saleslady was nice and patient and answered all our questions. We have gotten much better sleep with this bed over our old bed. Four years ago we purchased an all-foam latex bed by Vera Wang. It was like the Tempur-Pedic beds but not that brand. We were swayed by the memory foam that made it so comfortable. However, that lasted 6 to 9 months before the foam no longer remembered to bounce back. Needless to say, that was one of the most uncomfortable beds ever. We love the fact we can adjust our Sleep Number bed to our needs. I recommend this bed to all our friends and family.

    Attention: People that own Sleep Number beds should be aware of the customer service that they provide. I purchased a bed a long time ago, it was a King Size bed with an adjustable frame, and as you look at the bed from the bottom, I sleep on the left side and the right side DOES NOT WORK. I CAN TAKE THE MATTRESS FROM THAT SIDE AND MOVE IT OVER TO THE LEFT AND IT WORKS. THE PUMP WILL PUMP UP THE MATTRESS, but it leaks somewhere, and Sleep Number will do nothing about it. They just say, "Do it yourself." Well, is that good customer service? All they want to do is sell the product and they don't want to service it at all. I find this upsetting. There must be a leak between the mattress and the pump, but I am handicapped so they could care less. I can't get under the bed to fix it or repair it. So there I sit with 1/2 a bed due to Sleep Number Co WILL NOT come out to the home and fix it.

    So I am posting this to warn people that purchase their product. I bought the adjustable frame when they 1st came out and for the entire package was about $5,000 dollars, because I was handicapped. I see the ads on TV for Sleep Number and I just want to change channels because of the way they lie to people. So, if you want to, send me a reply with suggestions...... The adjustable frame works fine but it is the mattress that I am having a problem with. I am single and might want to sell the whole thing if interested, the adjustable frame, the mattress, I even have a King Size headboard that would go with the package.

    Well, this is my 2nd Sleep Number bed. When my husband and I purchased our first bed, it was because of my lower back problems. I was visiting a chiropractor just about every day for an adjustment. I could barely move in the mornings and was just too tired to get good rest when I laid down, besides feeling like I was laying on concrete.

    My husband suggested we go try them out and see what we thought. Well, let me tell you, it was THE BEST choice we ever made! Since that purchase approximately 4 years ago, my weekly trips to the chiropractor have turned into once MAYBE every three - four months... I sleep better, I rest better...

    We upgraded a few months ago to the adjustable Sleep Number bed... Such a joy to be able to read, watch television and sleep in amazing comfort. We also purchased the Dual Temp mattress topper and let me tell you, jumping into bed and my spot being either warmed if it's cold and cool, when it's hot... MMmmmm!!! Such a pleasure! Thank you Sleep Number for making my sleep better and more enjoyable! By the way, my number is 35.

    We finally bought a Sleep Number bed about 6 months ago. To be fair, each time we purchased our last 3 mattresses, we knew we should have just bought a Sleep Number then but we were afraid of the cost (of course we never actually priced them; we just assumed). I am so glad we actually took the leap and made it happen! I have a bad back and am a stomach sleeper; my husband could sleep on a rock if he had too. The sleep number has allowed me to have the bed as firm as I need it, or adjust it softer if I need it. It has been a lifesaver! My husband didn't worry too much about his perfect number until recently when he pulled a muscle in his lower back. I helped him adjust his sleep number and he was able to sleep like a baby! It truly has been life-changing!

    The only situation that we've discovered is that when we moved into a new house, we positioned the bed over a heating vent (didn't think to read about this on the official Sleep Number website) and it causes the sleep number setting to change during the night. No worries- just need to re-position the bed! All is right in slumberland again!

    This is the second Sleep Number bed I have purchased. My first was a queen mattress and my second one is a king size mattress. My number is 45 and I love it. I love being able to adjust the firmness of my bed whenever I want, and still allow my partner to have his number as well. It is hard to find a mattress that both people like as we know everyone has a different number. I also like the fact that today my number is 45 but it may change tomorrow to 55 or 35. You cannot adjust a regular mattress to your needs and end up using pillows and wedges to get a good night's rest. Been there and have done that and will never do that again.     I had purchased the best conventional mattress money could buy. "Top of the Line", with additional spring count, and 20 year warranty. Within 1 year the mattress sunk at in the hip area, followed by severe backaches. I contacted the rep. They took my mattress to rebuild it. It returned the same as when I sent it. I received no compensation. I bought a Sleep Number bed for half of the price of my old conventional bed 5 months ago, and haven't had a backache since. Money well spent.     We purchased our bed and received it in mid October 2014. We purchased 2 sheet sets to go along with the bed, at 329.99 each original price. One of the sheet sets began tearing pretty quickly due to the design of the bed and I have tried stitching it together several times, however they have now torn to the point that they are unusable. The second set has since begun to rip as well. We went to the sleep number store, and the associate there told us we would have to contact corporate customer service. I did so this morning and spoke with ** . He told me that bedding was only returnable for 30 days. I told him I thought it was unacceptable that 300$ sheets would rip within 5 months of use and there was nothing that the company was willing to do. He said "yeah, sorry about that but there’s nothing I can do".

    I am disgusted with that attitude. Not even a discount for purchase of another set. Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion. I feel as though a company should back their products, particularly when the defect is in the design of the product. I will be sure to remember this when looking for bedding or another bed in the future, and will not purchase anything from sleep number.

    We went with zero interest deal for convenience and it's terrible. We made, what we thought would be counted as 2 months payments in one month, at separate times and now we are finding out that we are being charged 35.00 each month as late fees. We called and were told that they can only remove 1 late fee? We've made all our payments and they chose to take our payments for and disregard the contractual agreement???     Called them out one time and they adjusted foam but made it no better. Very unhappy with the Sleep Number Silver Edition. Even though it's adjustable on both sides, my side still goes down when my husband is in the bed with me. The bed is not soft, even on the lower settings. You feel as though you just slump in there. And it's too hard on hard settings. It's like sleeping on a lumpy lounge chair. If you decide to buy a Sleep Number, be sure to test it out first!

    I absolutely hate this bed. While in the store I tried 3 different beds with the adjustable base and they were quiet. The lady in the store convinced me to buy a model that was more expensive than the one I intended to buy and they did not have that model in the store for me to try. Ever since it was delivered the adjustable base is so squeaky that if I move in the night, the squeaking noise is so loud it wakes me up. Half the time I get an error message about connectivity. I called customer service and they say buy a more expensive power surge cord because the brand new one I got most be too cheap. REALLY. There is nothing they can do about the squeaking. Of course the base is not returnable which I knew but didn't realize that it was so noisy. Will be returning the uncomfortable mattress.

    My wife and I purchased a new bed at the Minneapolis Home Show. We showed them the bed we wanted, and the salesman began to write us up. We didn't know what the model was called, and assumed that he would write us up for the correct bed - we were wrong. I asked him about the return policy on three occasions, as we were concerned about spending $3,500 on a new bed and not liking it. Three different times, he told us that if we didn't like it, the same people who delivered the bed would come back and pick it up without any charge to us, but we would be out our $179 delivery fee. The sole reason we purchased the bed was because he told us that we could return it, without additional costs to us.

    The following day, my mom purchased the EXACT same model we pointed out to the salesman at the home show, but somehow, her bed was $1,000 more expensive than ours. What we found out later is that we were written up and paid for a completely different bed than the one that we showed him we wanted at the home show. Needless to say, we were FURIOUS. We absolutely, hands down, HATE this bed. Neither of us have ever slept worse, and we have only had it for two weeks. Today, we went out and purchased another bed. Now, we will be out over $400 for a bed that we didn't want in the first place. The customer service rep was rude and awful when we called to speak to someone about what happened. They refused to offer a solution and told us, flat out, that we cannot return it prior to 30 days and we have to pay to ship it back to them.

    We will never own another Sleep Number bed, and we will ensure that our friends and family do not either. This is, hands down, the worst customer service we have ever dealt with, and I will not deal with it again. For people who are spending thousands of dollars on your products - you would think people would treat you with a little respect.

    The first installers did not set up the bed correctly... It made noise getting on and getting off. After complaining to the service folks, a second couple of installers arrived and didn't have a work order, wouldn't do what the service rep said would be done... One of the installers argued with my wife.... Finally a call to a supervisor settled the issue. When the installers left, they drove over my flower garden making 6" ruts with their box truck. We love our bed but the contracted installers reflect VERY negatively representing an otherwise great product. I'm still waiting for a promised contact from the complaint department where I want to send pictures.

    This is a great bed, but I thought I bought it outright, and did not just rent it for a while. Based on what has happened, I have changed my mind on Sleep Number Beds. They are great while they last, but ours did not make it a full year. After less than a year, the bed is deformed, and is bordering on unusable. The recline feature has shifted all of the various components in the foundation, base and mattress to the point where it does not even look like a mattress anymore. The bed now shifts a good 8-12 inches forward and is difficult to shift since all the parts are connected. We had to buy 12" thick pillows to stuff behind the bed, just to make up for the deformity this bed has and to keep our pillows from falling between the headboard and the bed.. This bed it was either not designed correctly, or was manufactured or assembled incorrectly.

    We have had this bed less than a year, and we bought the VERY TOP OF THE LINE. I am embarrassed to say what we paid, but it is a pillow top, dual King size, with reclining feature (both sides recline together). The PROBLEM: The bed has totally lost its shape. It pulls nearly 12 inches away from the headboard and the mattress section is now totally deformed. Because the base, and the lower section and top section are connected together, it is difficult to try to shift it back.

    We sent in pictures, we emailed them twice and no response for nearly 3 weeks. I think they were waiting the game trying to run the clock on the warranty. After still no response, I finally called them, and they claimed "We never got the email." I sent it a 3rd time to the very same email address, they magically got this one in less than 5 minutes while I was on the phone. Sleep Number's solution? They sent me two pieces of foam and an instruction manual on how to try to fix it, and warned me that my one year warranty was up, and that if I had more problems with it, I better tell them quickly. This is total BS. Two pieces of foam and a fix-it manual, all for the thousands of dollars I paid. Ridiculous.

    For what I paid for this bed, this is an absolutely ridiculous response. The foam pieces they sent are identical to the ones in the bed. What do they expect this will fix????? Rest assured, I will be telling everyone I know, what great warranty and customer service that you have.

    I purchased a Sleep Number bed in February. When the delivery guys came to set it up they found out that the factory had sent the wrong mattress (I had ordered a regular King and they sent a Split Top). They had already moved our old bed and assembled most of the new one when they realized it was the wrong bed. The delivery guys assured me that they could get the new parts and have it fixed in the next few days so I wasn't too worried, even though the bed would be unusable for me until it was fixed since I have a toddler who sleeps with us and it wouldn't be safe for her with the split in the mattress. Well, when customer service called me to schedule the date to have the bed fixed, I was told the soonest they could be there was 2 weeks and there was no way to get anyone there any sooner. I was pretty unhappy as I was having to sleep in our guest room on our old mattress, but that was the soonest they could offer.

    However, when the day came for them to "fix" the bed, the guys showed up and told us that the wrong parts had been delivered and they couldn't fix it! They assured me that a supervisor would call me on Monday and that they would definitely be out to fix it within the week. Monday rolled around and no call...in fact no one bothered to get back to me until Thursday (today), at which time they told me it would be another 2 weeks until they could come. I spoke to a supervisor and she was able to move it up by 2 days but that was it. So...I've had the bed for a month which I haven't been able to sleep on (though my husband assures me it's comfortable). And who knows if it will ever be fixed? I guess, we'll see...

    To start with, I went to my local sleep # store and tried several of the different beds on display. I choose a King C2 and purchased the bed. I was told by the salesman that I had 30 days to try it out and return it if I didn't like it. After receiving the bed almost two weeks later, I set it up and tried it out. Within the next two weeks I tried several different sleep #'s. None of which seemed to get comfortable to me. After three weeks I called and said I wasn't getting the comfort I thought I should. I was then told it usually takes about three weeks to get used to it. Having Faith in them because of this being new to me I tried it longer.

    Well after my THIRTY day trial period I still could not find a comfort zone. In fact I started experiencing back aches and numbness to my legs. Many nights I would get up in the middle of the night to finish the night on the couch. I finally moved the bed to another room and replaced it with a traditional mattress. Almost immediately I started getting a decent nights sleep. I had guest come and they tried the sleep number and they also could not sleep on it.

    FINALLY calling the store and saying enough is enough. Speaking to a different person he said I should have returned it within the ONE HUNDRED DAY trial period. I explained to him that I was told it was a 30-day trial. He said that was incorrect. I told him that it seemed as if I could feel each air chamber in the mattress. He then asked me to give him a physical description of myself. I told him I was 6' and weighed about 250. He said "WELL, we always suggest that people that are larger in frame should UPGRADE to the next level bed." He then said I could purchase a foam mattress to go with it for over 300.00 dollars.

    I explained to him that not only did NO ONE tell me I needed the FAT version of your bed, I told him I was told it was only a 30-day trial period. I told him I didn't think I should have to keep purchasing more items just to make this bed work. I then asked for a customer service rep. After being contacted by the rep. he asked that I perform a visual observation for him. I removed the top mattress pad as he instructed. He then told me to remove the foam pad. I told him there was NO foam pad. He said "well I think we have found your problem." He said it was suppose to have a foam mattress pad.

    I asked if that was what the local guy tried to sell me for over 300.00. He said yes but I could do it for 129.00. I said "why don't you just send me the rest of my bed I paid for." He said he would do better than that for me and just charge me shipping. SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I paid shipping when the bed was shipped the first time. I finally got the foam pad and installed it as instructed. It did help somewhat but nothing like all of the other reviews I have read. Maybe it is something deeper than realized.

    I am just tired of the runaround and I know this was an absolute waste of my time. But hopefully someone will realize that you don't have to be DISHONEST to sell this product and continue to attempt to sell more of the product just to make a sale. Too many vulnerable people out there that would just keep paying money for a worthless product. But what could you expect after dealing with a salesman who identifies himself as FAST EDDIE.

    On Mar 3rd, I purchased a Sleep Number base, mattress, sheets, mattress cover, and pillows. The bed was to be delivered on Mar 16. They called us at 10:00am and said they were 45 mins away. We left work and rushed home. About 11:30, we called to see where they were and was told they had gotten rescheduled and were headed about 100 miles away. After several phone calls, they scheduled for 5:00 pm. Again, we hurried home and at 6:10, they called and said they were at least 2 hrs away. We asked how long it would take to set up the bed and were told at least an hour. So we're looking at 10:00 at night.

    We told them we have to get up at 4:30 and that time would not work. They rescheduled us for Mar 31st. We told them we wanted a refund to go purchase a bed, because we had no bed to sleep on and was told it would be 2 weeks before we could get a refund. I have never dealt with any company that would not try to work with me. They were very inconsiderate and unconcerned about their customers!!!!

    Purchased a Sleep Number Bed. Their delivery department was impossible to deal with. Could not and would not give me an approximate time of day for delivery. They would not schedule delivery more than two weeks ahead. I cancelled the order. A week went by I called customer service again only to find out they had never processed the cancellation even though they gave me a cancellation number. Now they are telling me it will take 3 or more weeks to process the credit to my credit card. I have to pay the $2,300 credit card bill to keep from having interest added and will have a large credit to work off my credit card going forward. This purchase has been nothing but a nightmare since I walked out of the Sleep Number Store. Terrible customer service. Stay away from Select Comfort.

    I Give $3500 CASH Cal. King all the bells and whistles. I received a bed in a box. Ok so 30 days later something is not right, So I open mattress to find my air bags weren't cured and my entire inside mildewed. They taken cash and then you don't matter. Don't buy. Ten years and my bed is junk. I Have pictures they send waterproof bags. And long story short is they tried replacing piece by piece and I had to replace the pump at my cost. The bottom line is I never received the last I was ever supposed to buy and the Bag on 1 side leaks.

    Handicapped BEWARE YOU CONSULT with your caregiver is not as they make it seem. 20 Years My bed didn't last a month it was truly a Bio-Hazard. I'm So Upset I don't have $3500 for new bed. And Select Comfort, I am embarrassed because after the store visit and after I set the bed up I have a great friends in wheelchairs and I recommend the bed to them BEFORE I FOUND A Bio-Hazard under my sheets. And to be treated like I did something wrong. All I did wrong was give money before I Got Bed. They don't back up the Television commercials. I Will never have the chance to make another purchase like this. I Paid for a California King and Select Comfort STOLE my sleep and I Have pictures - everything fits great And the airbag is leaking. Buyers BEWARE.

    I love my Sleep Number bed. I do not have back pain any longer. I use to be a restless sleeper. I sleep very sound now and wake rested with energy. I have the standard model and am still able to sit up in bed just by adjusting the firmness. Then when it's time to sleep I push one button on the remote and it sets it to my Sleep Number 35. No more pressure points that keep me awake with previous beds.

    We bought a P6 and unfortunately it didn't work for us. We found out after the fact that the salesperson lied to us. She told us that we had to order the bed with home delivery, we didn't. She told us that the cost to return the bed would be $89, it wasn't. The delivery people took the boxes with them when they left, without asking, so unless I wanted to hunt up new boxes somewhere, I would be unable to send it back without paying for the most expensive method to return the bed. None of the return methods they mentioned came anywhere near the $89 we were quoted. The total cost to return the bed, including the cost to have it setup, was $400. Obviously we couldn't afford to keep trying beds at that rate. That means we will never try a Sleep Number bed again. Sleep Number refuses to do anything to make this right. We were happy Sleep Number bed owners for 28 years having owned an older classic model. Now we are very upset owners.

    My Sleep Number C2 was delivered on Thursday. It leaked air so quickly I got only a few hours sleep and was in pain the remainder of the night even refilling it every few hours. I called on Friday and was told that I would have to troubleshoot myself. I couldn't find the plugs until Saturday. Another night with no sleep! Finally found the plug and found the problem was the mattress. Called customer service and store. A manager was supposed to call me within 24 hours. Didn't happen. Another night with no sleep and pain. Wrote a bad review on the company's website. No response. Monday morning: 4 nights without sleep and pain. Sleep patterns seriously disturbed. This is torture. A company that promotes itself as reducing pain and solving sleep problems is worsening both because of their lack of product support. They want to charge me for returns and I must make this satisfactory for them by packing and shipping myself for their defective product.

    I have suffered from back pain the majority of my life due to a sports injury from my college days. Everyone talks about the importance of a good night's sleep and how it can help with lower back pain and other problems. When I stepped into a Sleep Number store for the first time last year, they made me realize my back had working extra hard while sleeping because of how poor of a mattress I was currently on.

    Well I can tell you this - I have boasting about my Sleep Number purchase ever since, because I am living back pain free now and I am completely blown away the difference it makes.     This is by far the most comfortable bed we have owned and or slept on. We purchased the adjustable bed and love it. Before this bed, we would wake up with neck and shoulder aches. We tried many different pillows but nothing worked to our satisfaction. One of my brothers and his wife had a Sleep Number bed and suggested we try one. That's how it all started. We found our numbers and our elevation and the rest is history. We love our bed and have recommended it to several people. We would not trade it for anything else.

    We love our Sleep Number. It really is an amazing bed that I can see us keeping for a long term time frame! We had such a wonderful sales rep in the Annapolis mall. She gave us the full experience even though at the time we were just looking. At the time she was fantastic and so is our bed.

    I usually don't spend time writing negative reviews, and I have the utmost respect (and sometimes pity) for sales reps in retail, but for the sake of potential customers, I believe this is necessary. Please do not misunderstand - I only speak for the sales service I received at the Sleep Number store at Christiana Mall in Newark, DE. I entered the store with my heart set on purchasing a mattress, and left never wanting to go to Sleep Number again. I was truly appalled at the rude and condescending tone (not to mention frequent glares) of the female sales representative as soon as I entered the store. Perhaps she was having a particularly bad day, but it is still no excuse to take it out on the customer and make him/her feel so unwelcomed and angry. Please, Sleep Number, do not allow others to feel as I did when I left the store this afternoon.

    I purchased a Sleep Number bed less than a month ago. I was torn to either get bed that lifts like a hospital bed or a stationary bed. The salesperson, ** had about six quotes laid on the table for various beds and options. He said "why don't you start here at the top and see what you think?" I said then "I can go back down to this bed which was 3k cheaper." "Yes," he said. We have decided that we don't use the moving parts and wanted to go down to a regular stationary bed. I called and was told the $2500 frame of the bed was not included in the trial. I am beside myself.

    In the contract we signed we were just told to initial as we did not reading the whole contract since we had been working with him for about 3 days. He says "you have a 100 night guarantee on the bed and a 25 year warranty on the base." Very misleading. Why would you even go to this company for a trial to see if you want to go with them or a Tempur-Pedic model if you are stuck with a 2700 dollar base? I am sorry but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! I would like a call back from ** head of marketing.

    Utterly devastated over this $8000.00 VERY EXPENSIVE purchase!!! After the first night of owning this bed it started splitting further, and further apart! Called customer service the second week of owning the bed after seeing the huge crevice get bigger and bigger. The first customer service representative I talked to was very nasty. She told me it was my fault for the way I was using the bed and by "using" I mean adjusting the ADJUSTABLE bed, I caused it to split??? (This is after sleeping on it for TWO weeks.) I called back a couple hours later and talked to another representative. He agreed to send someone to look at the bed. The pictures below show the 5-6 inch gap between both twins and that the bed pushes out about 2-3 inches over the base.

    I'm so unhappy at this point. If the person they send out is not able to fix this problem, it will be returned (for a 300.00 - 400.00 fee I have read). I should not have to pay the return fee for a defective product in my opinion. Either this bed was installed wrong or is defective. I will update this post on Saturday after my appointment. I also experienced numerous other issues with this purchase. I am waiting to see how the bed issue is handled before I post those.

    Ridiculously not happy with this bed. The 1st 6 mths were great and then the bed started sagging in the middle even with both chambers set at the same level. Customer service was no help, I ended up purchasing a new topper at a "discounted" rate as per my warranty. What an expensive mistake. Thanks QVC for making me a believer.

    I have just received a new bed with the Flex 1 Adjustable Base. The first two nights were not good. Backaches and restless sleep. I called the toll free number and asked about returning the bed. SNB is sending a "Base Pad" free of charge and a technician to install it to help with the sagging mattress. My greatest complaint is that if I decide the bed cannot be fixed, SNB will only take the mattress back. They will not refund the price of the base. I will be stuck with a $2000+ base that will be useless.

    Their explanation is that I can use it with another mattress but I will never try another adjustable mattress if this one does not work out. Yes the policy of not being able to return the base is on the receipt, in the fine print but it was not mentioned by the salesman. We likely would not have made the purchase if we had known it would cost us $2000 for a NON-RETURNABLE Base. My wife has also mentioned that she smelled mold the first night, which I will have the technician check out when he comes with the pad.

    I purchased my bed from the local Sleep number bed store in Blue Springs, MO. When my bed was delivered they were two hours late, disrespected my home by not shutting the door whenever they entered or left, didn't know what I had ordered. Then after they left I look at the brochure and realized the bed silhouette had not been set up properly. I immediately contacted customer service and it was closed. Contacted them the next day, explained situation and was told it would be another 2 weeks before they could get someone to my house. The manager shortened the time frame to a week later.

    When the techs arrived they realized that parts of the silhouette were missing. Customer service lady told me to be professional because I got upset when she tried to charge me 77 dollars for the parts. The manager that was then asked for said he would overnight the parts and escalate to the scheduling department. This happened last Saturday. Today scheduling told me I would have to at least wait until the 20th of March. This is a very expensive investment, I am really at my ends wits to get someone to just install my bed correctly.

    Three years ago I bought a 'Certified Orthopedic' mattress and foundation from a local manufacturer's showroom. My reason was to replace an older set that was no longer giving support to a once broken back and two newly replaced hips. Attached label info included endorsements by unnamed Orthopedic Surgeons and Medical Doctors (plural). Within a year fitted sheets became 'baggy', the mattress surface was wrinkled and body pressure points could feel individual springs.

    I emailed the store with my concerns. The response I received was startling: "...We typically build our Certified Orthopedic for guest bedroom(s) or a children('s) bedroom(s)...." The email went on to say if I bought one of their other mattresses intended for regular adult use, they would give me a credit for the dud! I replaced the dud with a 'sleep number Classic Series c2' and after experimenting with numbers (ultimately #95), I couldn't be happier with this purchase! I would and have recommended 'sleep number' to family and friends.

    This is the third bed we have bought. Two, we are truly very satisfied, but the third is a 110% disappointment! We bought the last queen size mattress two years and four months ago to complete a guest room set up. The first guest slept on it and said that it was not comfortable and then slept the second night on a regular mattress on the floor with her son. The second guest a few months later also said that it was uncomfortable. We took it out of the room and set up a single bed and a mattress THAT HAD BEEN STORED IN OUR WALK-IN ATTIC FOR AT LEAST 10 YEAR. I decided last fall that I was going to set it up again. Two major operation prevented me until last week. I FOUND OUT THAT THESE MATTRESS CANNOT BE STORED. Both chambers will not hold air.

    I filled a bathtub up with water and submersed the mattress to find the leaks. When the mattress is flat the sides fold in. This inner crease leaked like it was made of cheesecloth! Sleep number advertises that they are "high quality, and can last two to three times as long as a traditional innerspring mattress". They will replace my chambers for $98 because I am over two years on their 25 YEAR WARRANTY. I wonder how much of the deterioration on the mattress material was done on the time it was stored before I bought it. Maybe that is why it was on sale. Very, very disappointment with this mattress.

    My husband and I bought our Sleep Number bed in Sept. It was great because I like the bed soft and he likes it firm. The only issue we had was because my number was so low and his so high, he would feel like he was falling into my side. Sleep Number send us a pad to even up the sides, which corrected the problem. So we are both enjoying the bed.

    I purchased 3 adjustable queen size beds in May of 2012. Less than a year later the motor failed on one. Everything was taken care of under the warranty. A tech was sent out wit a replacement motor with no cost to me. Now the motor on that bed has failed again along with another bed. I called today only to find out that

    1. Only the motor was covered under the warranty.
    2. I have to pay shipping and tax on the two motors.
    3. These motors are out of stock and they could not tell me when they would be back in stock.

    4. I have to hire someone to install these motors!!!

    My mattress is already breaking down and I shudder to think what the so called warranty would be on that!!!! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM THESE PEOPLE AGAIN, NOR WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THEM. I WILL TELL PEOPLE TO AVOID THEM!!!

    Buyer Beware! Full disclosure, yes I did sign the contract that states that the return policy does not cover the adjustable base. Mea Culpa! What isn't in writing is the way company/local store sold me on the 100 night trial. Nothing illegal, but somewhat less than above board. It was used as a closing pitch that if we weren't completely satisfied, we could return "the bed" for a full refund minus pick-up fees. Great, that made me feel more comfortable spending $6600. In fact, it was the deciding factor! However... it was never discussed that it did not include the $2000 adjustable base. That somehow was not pointed out.

    Hmm, I wonder why? Maybe because who's going to return a bed and be stuck with an expensive frame. They will tell you that the frame can be used with other mattress. I'm sure it can, but that is not the point. Shame on the company for not backing up the spirit of 100 night trial. The response from customer service on 3/6/15 (** ID#**) was (and I'm paraphrasing) a polite "Sorry, you signed the contract and that's the policy." For anyone that might be reading this, don't be fooled by their so eloquently written (and this time no paraphrase "If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, please call us so we can make it right.") Yeah right. I know I have no legal leg to stand on, I was just hoping for the company to do the right thing.

    I've had one Sleep Number adjustable bed for 11 years. During this time, any small problem we had was immediately fixed, i.e. replacement of foam siding, etc. So happy with customer service over such a long period. I bought another for a second bed for myself about 3 years ago. A feature that is never mentioned, but one I tout regularly is the ease of making the bed. I am of an age that makes lifting mattresses difficult. My Sleep Number folds up, slip top sheet corners, hit the "flat" button and watch it stretch out perfectly. Lift the foot a little and top sheet and blanket, tucked in without effort. A 20 minute exhausting chore, completed in 5 minutes.

    I have recommended Sleep Number to everyone who is looking for mattresses and/or a bed. Couldn't talk my boyfriend into adjustable, but he got a Sleep Number mattress about a year ago and is very happy with it. I tell everyone that two things I cannot live without, my Sleep Number bed and Keurig coffeemaker.

    I had been wanting a Sleep Number bed for years and we finally purchased one! The sales person at the store was very helpful and nice to work with. We opted for the P6 which wasn't even on the sales floor. We like the bed. It is nicer than our old box spring but I am not blown away by its greatness… Perhaps because I had it in my head that it would be perfectly comfortable and live up to its advertisements. I think we are sleeping better on this mattress and the adjustable firmness is nice to have as our bodies change but again, maybe a higher end box spring would have delivered the same results.

    One thing I can say for sure is I am extremely disappointed we bought the Lyocell sheets! They were expensive but didn't fit the mattress very well (one major reason to be done with our deep box spring) and were wrinkly all the time. We got different sheets from a big box store that are softer, nicer and fit better.

    All in all, would we purchase again? I don't know honestly. Hoping we get to that perfectly happy place with our P6.

    The issue I am having is the mattress has sagged where the dual side meet in the middle of the bed. The gap is separated with a foam filler. I inspected the bed to discover the foam topper had a vertical tear consistent with the area where the sagging was occurring. I have since ordered a new foam topper two years ago, and was given a pro rated price for the replacement. This has not corrected the problem. I have contacted select comfort to voice my issues. I was instructed to examine the outer foam, the topper pad as well as the oem base. These are in perfect condition. I feel the problem is where the dual bladders are gapped. I would like to convert this bed to a single bladder. This should resolve the issue. I would like a pro rated price on this conversion. I was informed I would need to pay full price. Has any one else has this issue, or am I the only one?

    The bed gets a 5-star rating and the bedding, not so good....2 rating. The 2 is because the top sheet has nothing to tuck into with this type of bed, thus it is going everywhere. That needs to be fixed. The bottom sheets (extra long twin) each stay put because they are fitted. The top is one big sheet that doesn't stay put. Maybe some elastic on the edges at the bottom like a fitted sheet would do the trick.

    Misleading sales personnel telling us we qualified for 36 month financing so we find a bed, they show us a price, then when we go to finalize the purchase they say you can only finance for 36 months if you pay full price not the sales price. 1-800 customer service doesn't care either that you are misled. All they want to do is get you hooked on a bed. And you will pay what ever. I would not refer a friend to just get mislead.

    We have owned our Sleep Number bed for over 2 years now & our only problem is that we can't take it with us when we travel to Florida in the winter time. Because we work during the winter & rent, the experience of sleeping 6 months on another mattress after sleeping on our Sleep Number @ home for 6 months is beyond imagination of the difference of sleeping on a foreign object (bed spring mattress) for 6 months.     Purchased our California King bed about two years ago for almost $9800. I never thought that we would spend that much for a bed but I was tired of sleeping on floor due to back issue. Using the interest-free financing helped with the pain of the price. I have my side set to 75 which allows me to sleep and most importantly wake up without a sore back, and unfortunately have started having issues with acid reflux at night, and thanks to the options that allow me to raise the front and have the timer lower it when I want has allowed me to sleep throughout the night. If I had to list one complaint it would be if I ever need to relocate it will be a major pain to break it down.

    Before buying my Sleep Number bed, I was using a Tempur-Pedic. For me, my back hurt so bad every morning, that I literally had to crawl out of bed.     Think I bought this Sept 2012. The hand unit had messed up occasionally before May. Say you have 50 lbs pressure but you'll drop down to 45 and it lets out too much air for just 5 lbs then too soft. Then you'll go up 5 lbs and it puts too much air in and bed too hard. At this point not very happy with it and I think it's just the hand control is inaccurate not the pressure unit. It would be nice to know when I set it for 50 that is actually what's in it. Only reason I bought this is I'm disabled after failed back surgery. Since 1st surgery March 18, 1998 I now total 8 separate back related surgeries. I live in pain. Even 4 hours sleep in a row would be nice. Doesn't happen often.

    Updated on 03/02/2015: I wish I questioned it earlier as it’s been doing this for quite a while. Never thought of it as a problem till I pushed button saw 50, wanted to go 5 lbs less and saw hand unit read 60 then 55, 50, 45… It did same thing going up also. I have known in past it seemed to let too much air out or in but never noticed incorrect pressure in window on hand unit. I only bought myself this after 8 back surgeries and not 1 fixed my back! They will replace unit (partially under warranty) as its past 2 years. Approx $47 with ship & hand... That stinks when on fixed income. I do NOT have an extra 50 BUX, but if I don't buy it now it will be even more later... There is no other way to add remove air so basically you’re scre_d. :( Leaves a bad taste after spending $900+ Feb 2012. Thanks for nothing Sleep Number…

    We have a Select Comfort Ultra King Size bed which has served us well and has been a very comfortable bed. Unfortunately, we need to replace the mattress top, which is a zip-off cover that goes over the top of the mattress. When we contacted Select Comfort, the quoted cost of the cover was $1,078. That's about 60% of the cost of an entire bed complete with pumps, frame and mattress!! This is a real rip-off of customers! Over the years I have received a number of coupons from Select Comfort for recommending their products to friends but I guess I won't be receiving any in the future because I will no longer recommend Select Comfort.

    Essentially, they want you to buy a new bed when all that you need is the cover. What a wasteful practice! It's too bad that they do not feel that they can make money without gouging people that have already invested a premium price for their product. I'm really disappointed in Select Comfort, who I have supported (they are a local MN company) and I will apologize to some of the people that I have recommended them to. I'll now start looking at some aftermarket products to fix the issue since Select Comfort will not offer a replacement cover at a fair or reasonable price.

Defects in our bed are rare, but the ones that do occur are most often found and reported in the first two years of use, which is why we fully cover any replacements due to defects during that period. It sounds like you've owned your bed a bit longer than that and you’re now in the prorated portion of your warranty, where we're still covering a portion of the cost for your replacement. We're happy to take a second look at this for you and see what other options we can offer to resolve this for you.     I live in Greenfield Indiana and drove to the Lafayette service. Took the time to help me with the option and get the coupon I had taken care of that customer service told me was good but when I got to the store was not. Great customer service. Keep it up.

    First of all the Sales Person was very courteous at the store we visited in the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough, MA. Very knowledgeable about the product and working out the details of financing the bed without being overly pushy or using strong arm sales tactics to get us to buy. Delivery was when they stated. We opted to set the bed up ourselves. Instructions were easy to follow. There were some corner pieces that were missing but did not prevent setting up the mattress. A call to customer service got the missing pieces sent to us quickly. Have to say our old mattress was about 17 years old. Used to wake up with a sore back every morning. Now we get up in the morning without the back ache. Would not hesitate to recommend one of these for anyone else.
