    The process was very easy. I read the reviews online and then called Saatva. The salesperson was very helpful answering all my questions. I then ordered the mattress. I received a call a few days later and a representative from Saatva went over the order with me to make sure everything was correct. A few days later the deliver company called and we set up a delivery date. The mattress was delivered at the time they promised and everything was set up as promised. I have not had the chance to evaluate the comfort of the mattress. We have only slept on it one night. So far I am very happy with the process. Everything went as promised and everyone I dealt with was very knowledgeable.

    In the process of determining if the Saatva mattress was what I wanted, I contacted your customer service via chat to ask a few pertinent questions. I was treated in a friendly, courteous manner and my questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. As a result, I ordered a Saatva mattress and foundation. I'm certain of the dimensions I ordered. However, am a little bit concerned about the softness I believe will be a right fit for me considering that I can't tolerate too much resistance on pressure points due to my bad back, and probably won't be able to know until we try it out.     Our experience ordering a mattress from Saatva has been seamless and so far, very successful. I would recommend this company if you are looking for a new mattress. Ordering the mattress was simple online, and I was reassured by the generous trial period and exchange/refund policy of the company. As recommended, I chose the luxury firm mattress in a king size. My order indicated a lead time of up to 18 days, however the mattress arrived quickly, in a week. There was excellent follow up customer service after my online order - I was contacted by a representative to make sure I had ordered correctly.

    Delivery was simple. I was contacted twice to set a delivery day, then a delivery window, and the delivery company gave me a 30 minute window call on the day of delivery. The delivery company was speedy and efficient. They took my old mattress away and set up the new Saatva for me. The mattress looks just like it does online - very fresh, new and luxurious. I had taken the suggestion of one online reviewer and purchased a thin mattress protector for it. The reviewer says that this will help keep the mattress in good shape for longer.

    The mattress is very comfortable. It feels supportive along the full length, head to toe, and both my husband and I slept very well on it. There were no issues with heat. I had thought it was possible we would prefer the firm version, but the luxury firm is just the right amount of support with the extra comfort I associate with good hotel beds. If you prefer a soft bed, I would definitely go with the plush version, and you would clearly have to like a very, very firm bed to like the firm option.

    Overall, we are very pleased with the mattress, the service, and the price. I researched this mattress extensively online before deciding to try it out - the 75 day trial was the clincher as I knew I was not locked into the purchase if it did work out for us. I saw some negative reviews, however I cannot say enough that what Saatva represented as their product online was what we received - the mattress was in perfect condition, and the delivery service (Elite Delivery) were very professional. We are happy customers, and I would buy from this company again.

    My first call was from a person from, I think, the "logistics" group re: delivery. She was not very articulate and I got lost when she stated the phone # (a lot of AHAMMM, a pause, numbers unclear, etc). Just too many numbers. 1st frustration. Then Brent called, and was almost as difficult to understand. So sorry for being so blunt; but I need to understand the message so that I can take the appropriate action. It appears that the order is correct. We have checked the measurements; everything will fit through doorways, the room is large enough for the new bed, etc. But, please, someone does need to call back with the delivery information.

    "Would you buy a mattress and foundation (box spring) online? Sight unseen? You can't lie on it, squeeze it, smell it for 'off-gassing' problems before buying. And what if the mattress company is relatively new -- not a time-honored mattress manufacturer?" Aren't these the questions we all ask ourselves? So what do we do? We all begin reading the reviews. Turns out that for this particular company -- Saatva -- there are what appear to be hundreds of reviews. You read them and you get uneasy. "Nearly every review is superlative, almost extravagant in its praise for the company and its product! What's going on here? Are these fake reviews?" I'm an ornery old man. A retired university professor. I really don't like being flimflammed. I'm just like you, dear reader, in this regard. I read the reviews. I noticed that the great majority were written before the mattress arrived.

    They were written only on the basis of Saatva's efficient and extraordinarily polite way of handling sales before delivery of the product. This set off alarms in me. However, I did find a number of reviews that were "after the fact" -- after the fact of the mattress having been delivered. They, too, were very positive. This encouraged me. Being research-oriented, I then Googled "Saatva mattress" to find any websites that might have sprung up, bashing them. (Check out Stearns & Foster, for instance. They are hammered in offsite reviews!) Nope, no "bashing" sites for Saatva. This encouraged me. I then found a video done by a young man reviewing his Saatva experience, including his new mattress & foundation. I watched the video several times. I found him convincing. I then checked out a local furniture store, and looked at several Stearns & Fosters and Sealy's and so forth. I wasn't impressed, either by the mattresses or salespeople.

    Their mattresses were very costly. In a leap of faith, I bought a Saatva online. (I was encouraged by their generous return offer, though the thought of returning this large, ungainly object -- repacking it and I presume paying for shipping was daunting. I tried not to think about it.) It arrived yesterday. It arrived in perfect condition. There was absolutely no off-gassing (formaldehyde odor) when I opened the sturdy plastic bag encasing the mattress. I set up the bed -- foundation & mattress -- lay down to test it, and woke up 45 minutes later. Refreshed. Relaxed. The young man who reviewed the Saatva in the video mentioned, above? He's absolutely right: This mattress is high quality. The tufting. The materials used. The comfort. The evenness of support. The cording around the edges. Excellent!

    Back to the hundreds of over-the-top reviews. Unlike 99% of those reviewers, I had the opportunity to experience a screw-up in the process of my mattress being delivered. That is, the first mattress that was delivered. The mattress that arrived yesterday, in perfect condition, was my second Saatva. Here's what happened. The company that delivers for Saatva in my area -- let me simply say I wound up rejecting the mattress. The problem wasn't Saatva, it was the delivery company. Of course, I called Saatva to let them know I had rejected the mattress, and I gave them an earful about the delivery company. This is where things became interesting. "Is this company going to live up to the praise of those hundreds of adoring reviewers," I wondered? Know what? It did!

    Saatva busted the chops of the delivery company, guaranteed me a new and different delivery crew (same company), gave me a full refund for the mattress and foundation (even though I kept the foundation from the first delivery: They gave it to me for free!, fast-tracked the manufacture of a brand new mattress, fast-tracked the delivery, called and emailed me repeatedly to let me know what was happening at each step of the way, packaged the mattress in a special cardboard box (to thwart any attempts by the delivery company to screw up, again), asked me to give them a full report on the delivery experience, and then insisted I allow them to give me a discount. Whew! The only quarrel I had with Saatva is that, after the second, successful delivery, I refused to accept the foundation for free; I insisted on paying for it. And I refused a discount on the mattress. They insisted! I refused! We went back and forth.

    Finally, I won -- sort of. "Okay, doc," agreed the Saatva manager, "If you're not going to let us discount the mattress and give you the foundation for free, then we're going to waive the delivery fee." I knew I wasn't going to win that one, so I relented, though I grumbled. (Oh, I forgot to mention. When Saatva sent the new mattress, they refused to charge my credit card. Not a dime! "Doc, we're sending the new mattress without charging your card. In fact, we no longer have your card. You call us after it's delivered and after you have decided you like it -- or don't like it -- and if you like it, only then will we charge you for it. Call and give us your credit card. If you don't like it, we will take it back, at no expense to you.) I emailed Saatva shortly after the delivery, told them it went splendidly, that the mattress was flawless, and that I had already slept on it and was in love with it.

    Only then did they take my credit card information -- and that's when we quarreled over whether I would let them discount the mattress, etc. Let me put it this way: When's the last time you quarreled with a company over them being too generous with you? No, they didn't pay me to write this review. No, they didn't ask me to write this review. (Should I say that I got the weird feeling that, had the delivery company not shaped up, Saatva would have personally driven my mattress to my front door and installed it on my bed frame -- and refused to take a dime? Yeah, I was afraid they were going to do this!)

    So far, so good. A lovely lady (whose name I've forgotten) called to confirm my order. Ask me again after the actual product arrives and we've had sufficient time to experience it! Our current mattress -- a very expensive Stearns & Foster has proved to be the most disappointing yet, and in considerably less than three yrs.

    Our biggest problem is imprinting although neither of us is heavy. (If Saatva is no better in this regard, pls. don't bother to even fill our order!)

    I am always leery of purchasing online if I cannot try it first and if I cannot return for a full refund. After reading all the 5 star reviews I was convinced to give it a try knowing that I had 75 days to return for full refund with the exception of delivery fee. I made the purchase online (Luxury Firm) without any issues. The delivery and setup was without issues. Its issue was when I slept on the bed. It was much firmer than I expected. The Saatva site says that this is the same mattress (firmness 5-6) that is used in hotels. I would disagree with this based on my experience as a busy annual business traveler. The Luxury Firm mattress is firmer than any mattress I've slept in any hotel chains (Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn). The firmness rating should be more 7-).

    Before purchasing I had spoken to customer service and they gave me the equivalent mattress to try in the stores. I went there and those mattresses were softer than this one. When I called customer service to talk about the firmness they told me that the mattress needs 3-4 weeks to break in. I have never heard of a mattress that needs almost a month to break in. Weighing my options I decided to keep the mattress. The mattress I wanted cost twice as much. My solution was to buy a 3" memory foam from Costco to act as a pillow top. This made sleeping more comfortable. It would also be cheaper as long as the memory foam can last 2-3 years. Then all I have to do is replace the memory foam and not the mattress. Buyers beware if you are buying this mattress. Since you cannot try this mattress, the firmness may not meet your expectations.

    We bought our first Saatva mattress in September of 2014 and it's been a great year! We had been in the market to buy a new mattress and had considered one of the memory foam brands because I have some neck and back issues and was having a really hard time with sleep pain with our old mattress. We were concerned about the off gassing of other mattresses though, especially as we had a baby in the house and wanted to be careful of that. We went with a Queen size Luxury firm.

My neck pain went away. My lower back pain went away. My husband and I both started sleeping better. It was awesome! Now it's been a year, and I can't say enough how happy we are that we went with Saatva. The mattress still looks beautiful. It still feels amazing. We love it so much that we just placed another order for a Twin size mattress for our toddler. And we know this is where we will be buying our mattresses forever going forward. We love Saatva!

    I used the chat function on the website, and the person who chatted with me was unable to respond to my questions except by repeating what was already on the site.     Very happy with sales experience. NO pressure sales techniques which is great as I hate that about mattress stores. The bed will arrive in about a week. Very happy with the 75-day in home trial and reasonable fee for shipping. Assuming it's as comfy as everyone says, I think this is likely a superior way to buy a mattress, since trying them in a store really does not tell you what it is like to sleep on them.     Was happy with order process and mattress quality till delivery; mattress along with foundation delivered 1 hour later than time window. No one called to inform about delay till about 20 min before window expired. The delivery truck had the goods arranged as if they were going to dump it somewhere. Did not handle it well. Picture of the foundation delivered today shows damage at edge, had taken day off to have this all organized. The guys (felt sorry for them) were certainly not in any shape to carry the heavy king size mattress up the stairs, very crude in removal and delivery of the stuff. Despite all good reviews I am sorry but it is the delivery and setup that counts as well and in my opinion this is a big failure for the company. They need to get this sorted.
