What is Saatva?

Saatva is a direct-to-consumer mattress company, which essentially means it cuts out the middleman, operating primarily online and shipping its mattresses directly to customers, rather than going through retailers.

Saatva offers multiple mattress models with three firmness options: plush soft (soft), luxury firm (medium) and firm, all at the same cost. While 80% of customers choose the luxury firm style, the flexibility lets customers of different sizes and with different preferences choose the right one for them.

All Saatva mattresses come with a 365-night sleep trial that offers a full refund, minus the $99 transportation cost. Saatva mattresses also come with a lifetime warranty that includes the option to replace a defective mattress with a new one at a discounted price.

Saatva offers 0% APR financing to help customers cover the cost of their new mattress. The company’s white-glove delivery includes free mattress removal, so customers don’t have to pay to get rid of their old mattress.

Where are Saatva mattresses made?

Saatva mattresses are made in the U.S. at one of its independent manufacturing facilities.

Not necessarily, although the company does recommend some sort of base for the mattress, such as a platform.

Where can I try a Saatva mattress?

How long Saatva mattresses last depends on the model. The Saatva Classic is built to last 10 to 15 years with normal usage, while the Solaire is built to last 25 years. All Saatva mattresses come with a lifetime warranty.

Is Saatva a good mattress?

Saatva is a good option for customers who want to invest in a luxury mattress without breaking the bank. With its lifetime warranty, Saatva mattresses have a fairly long lifespan compared to industry averages. And, with 0% APR financing, customers have the option to pay it off over time. Many innerspring mattress companies don’t offer firmness options, so the different levels offered on some mattresses help set it apart from the competition.

I am 45 years old and 215lbs. I purchased a Brooklyn Bedding Sedona at first due to all the positive reviews. I could not get used to this thing. I started getting bad back pain 2hrs after falling asleep at night. I started the return process and purchased a Saatva Classic plush soft despite mixed reviews. I truly cannot understand the negative reviews. I believe these negative posts are competitors or something. The Saatva out performs any mattress I've ever owned or slept on. The quality is second to none! It reminds me of a high end hotel mattress at the Ritz. So comfortable, so high end, amazing quality and an absolute pleasure to sleep on.

I can't even express how happy I am to have pulled the trigger on buying the Saatva mattress... it's almost emotional. I always go for the softer type of mattress being a side sleeper, especially coming from an all foam Layla which I really liked. This Saatva is absolutely a step up. Don't listen to the review of buying firm if you're heavy. The more your shoulder can sink in, the less pressure points you'll have. The softer comfort coils are amazing, and the pillow top feels like such high quality. The comfort it delivers is unmatched in my opinion. The 365 day return policy and the lifetime warranty should be enough to confirm this. Thank you Saatva!!!

We purchased a Saatva Split King Luxury Firm mattress with adjustable base about 5 months ago and couldn't be happier with our new bed. The firmness level is perfect for both my husband and myself even though we have completely different body types. The adjustable base is great since we have separate controls. We love to read in bed and it is now such a much more comfortable experience than propping up pillows on our old flat bed. I suffer from chronic back pain that has significantly lessened with this mattress. I no longer struggle to just get out of bed in the morning.

Customer service has been excellent. My initial representative, Carl, gave me his phone extension so I can call him and know he will help me promptly and courteously. We had a slight issue with our delivery (fault of the delivery company) and Carl was quick to resolve the issue and even gave us some money back for our inconvenience. The delivery was professionally done with complete setup and removal of our old mattress.

We just ordered a Saatva Youth Mattress for our 4 year old grandson. We are impressed with the care and consideration in this mattress construction for young, growing bodies. By flipping the mattress over at a suggested age, he will continue to have great support and save having to buy another mattress. With the added 10 year protection plan (very reasonably priced), we are confident that he will have a great mattress for many years if any repairs or replacement become necessary. You never know with young kids!

Mattress purchases are an important investment and with Saatva's 365 day trial, we were confident that we could exchange for a different firmness if necessary. You can't really know how a mattress will feel by laying on it for a few minutes in a showroom. We have been happy with the firmness since the beginning, but just knowing that exchange was an option gave us confidence in ordering a mattress online.

Iranie was working the front desk when we came back in to the Westport, CT store to request a return of our mattress that we had already exchanged once. She was tremendously helpful and honest on the process involved. We received our refund as advertised in 7-10 days. It was the same honesty and integrity we received from Chris the sales consultant who walked us through the many options of mattresses to choose from. We we tried to make our new mattress work for us and gave it our best shot over 5 months. Our only issue was never having had a pillow top and we did not adjust to it. These are nice people. We made the wrong choice for us but we believe any other customer coming in can rely on the information they are receiving which says everything about Saatva and they the way they do business. I thank all of you!

      Reviewed June 19, 2025

I would like to start by saying this is not a paid for review or for any promotional deal. My experience with SAATVA, has been incredible from the very start. From the team members in the brick and mortar store here in Dallas Texas. They were so helpful, kind, professional, and they listen to what you want and to what you expect. They take their time and go over every aspect, from the manufacturing to the building of the mattress to the warranties to everything this company covers, and is. After an in-depth conversation that lasted around 30 minutes I placed my order and they said it takes between 9 and 18 days I believe, to build your mattress and get it delivered to you which is fine. The delivery date was nearing and as I checked the email order status I noticed that the order had been placed as firm instead of the luxury firm I thought I had ordered. I wasn’t sure if this was a typo or not enough space in the section for full description or what.

It could have been a simple data entry error or me saying and not looking over the order correctly, but regardless not a big deal and I take responsibility for that. I called their helpline and was instantly taken care of by team member Adam M.. What a professional team member. He listened, he went over the information on the order and confirmed it was ordered as a firm instead of a luxury firm, and instantly he said no problem, he can take care of this. He asked me if I wanted to continue with the order so it could be delivered and I would have a mattress to sleep on until the new one got built and although that was gracious and kind and tempting I said I would rather just wait instead of going through the delivery process twice, but what a great offer. He stopped the order.

He rewrote it to be a luxury firm and informed me that the process would start over again, which I completely understand and he informed me that he would be watching this order personally and would keep communication with me through the process to let me know how things were going, which is extremely helpful for a customer. Adam was thoughtful, professional, courteous, kind, gracious he exemplified everything that I had experienced with other team members both on the phone and in the store. Another team member Kevin had previously been working with me, keeping me informed of the process of the previous order. Again he was very professional, and very kind. He listened, and was very attentive, and if there was any issue, he solved it. He answered all my questions and gave me the confidence that things would be taken care of professionally and properly, to which they have been.

I was amazed by Mr. ** and how he handled everything, he was very, very helpful in this process and continues to involved with myself and my order keeping me updated as it goes. Every team member I’ve dealt with has displayed the same kind of attitude. This company was built on the foundation of quality of product and quality of customer service and I’ve never heard anything negative. I’ve never heard, "We can’t do that, or that is not possible," which you hear from so many companies these days, it seems they just want to get your money and forget about you, you are just an invoice number to them. That is not the case with SAATVA. Everything is possible in a positive positive way. Everything will be taken care of, and as a customer they welcome you to the SAATVA family and want you to stay. How comforting to know that and how great that makes you feel.

More companies in America and in the world need to be built on foundational principles like these. The world would be a better place for sure. Although I haven’t received my mattress yet I know 100%, It will be exactly what I’m looking for and I will be 100% satisfied with it. They have one of, if not the best warranties and guarantees in the industry for their product. They stand behind it 100% and there will never be an issue if something needs to be fixed or corrected. I can’t recommend this company enough and I can’t praise the team members enough. Not only do they listen to you, but they hear what you’re saying, which is very important and two different things. From your first interaction they make you feel like family. They take care of everything.

I am so blessed and so thankful to have chosen this company, I search for weeks and weeks on all mattresses and all companies and I knew this was the company to go with. Please give them a try. They are incredible. They are professional. They have the quality and they are what you’re looking for. SAATVA and all team members, I can’t thank you enough. Please keep doing what you’re doing.
      Sincerely,
      Jeff C.

Purchased the latex hybrid in December of 2024. My wife and I were quite satisfied. 5 months later, we noticed the mattress was significantly softer and our aches and pains were coming back. I contacted Saavta via email and Adam reached out to me by phone call midday. I was advised that there is a break in period for latex and it will soften and begin to mold to your body. Adam gave us several options. Measure the depth/sag of the mattress to make sure there isn’t a defect of more than 1.5”. If there was 1.5” or more sag, it’s considered a defect and would be replaced. Other option was to exchange it for different model, price adjusted accordingly.

I am unhappy that the sales representative in the showroom didn’t mention that the latex would break in so much and what we felt in the showroom was temporary. The mattress went from about a 7 firmness down to about a 4 or 5. For those who suffer from back pain, the firmer the better (at least that’s my opinion). I still give the company/product a 4. They had a quick response time with our concerns, and although we have the sag issue the construction and materials are better quality than most mattresses I’ve seen/used.

Very disappointed in the "White Glove" delivery. We ordered a King Bed, HD which is much thicker than the other mattresses. We are upgrading to a King after 30 years of sleeping on a queen. Our delivery was scheduled between 8:00 and 12:00 on a Saturday. When the delivery truck arrived at 8:10 I was pleased that I would not need to wait around all day and could attend to other matters. There were two delivery personnel. The driver came to the door and I walked up the stairs to the bedroom. He looked at the mattress and box spring and grumbled, stating he did not have room on the truck (really, they were not prepared to take both box spring and mattress).

Then he proceeded by himself to take the mattress down the stairs, not paying attention to the picture frames on the walls of the stairwell. Carrying the mattresses down the stairs by himself was not a gentle process, the box spring removal was even worse, banging the box spring against the wall on the way down. My wife and I removed all of the framed pictures a from the walls. Neither of the two delivery men paid any attention to what they might damage. When the two men attempted to bring in the king size mattress they struggled trying to force the mattress up the stairs. I started recording. When they saw I was recording they stopped, went back out to the truck to brought and back a damage waiver requesting I sign. I refused.

They stated they could not deliver unless I sign. I told them to take the mattress back. The delivery process was very unprofessional very far from what I would consider to be white glove service. I would think the sales team would be aware of the difficulties of bringing in larger mattresses and make customers aware of possible difficulties. Would also suggest better training of the delivery personnel. We are still buying a mattress, different model only because my wife wanted to continue. If it were up to me I would have shopped elsewhere.

This is not for the mattress but for "white glove service". This means they don't get their hands dirty because they don't help you. You need to read their removal instructions carefully. We had a Sleep Number mattress, and they said they don't remove or recycle it. Knew that. What I didn't know was that they would not help disassemble it or help remove it from the bedroom. So, my wife and I struggled with it for about an hour (we're both pushing 80 yrs). So many excuses not to touch it. After an hour time is up, we have to leave, so everything dumped in the garage and they left.

Saatva uses third party predatory email “advertisers” to ceaselessly spam email inboxes with ads that come from a different email and domain. Each single time, spoof their email address to appear legitimate (see attached photo example where the email is spoofed to seem like it came from Amazon), and use embedded images and other tactics so blocking and keyword filtering doesn’t work. Before they come on here to respond that they “only use legitimate email marketing from third party affiliates that you have agreed to share your info with”, let me just ask, if this was the case, and their email marketing was legitimate, why the predatory and shady tactics that make it absolutely impossible for me to escape this scammy spam without closing my email account and starting a new one? That is not legitimate behavior.

If I wanted email from Saatva I would sign up for it on your website, and if it was not completely sketchy it would come directly from you, your own email address, and your own domain, and make it easy for me to unsubscribe. Instead, the “unsubscribe” options in these shady scam emails go to bizarre domains that will just confirm my email is active and probably put me on a list to receive even more spam. Shame on you. I will never in my life even consider buying a Saatva product and I will tell anyone who will listen not to as well.

      Reviewed Nov. 27, 2025

If you have leg pain or sciatica or back pain, this is probably not the bed for you. I solved my pain by going to another mattress. I slept on a Saatva mattress about 3 years ago in a guesthouse in San Francisco. It seemed nice and cozy. I don't know which one it was, but it seemed fine. I was looking for a mattress, so I researched Saatva and went with their Classic Luxury Firm (11.5"), as I wanted support but nothing too soft or too firm. It seemed the most popular and middle of the road. It feels nice to sleep on and I didn't make the connection with my pain and the mattress until it was too late to return it. Prior to this, had a mattress that was softer with foam and I thought it was a problem with that mattress. I had just had surgery to correct an old injury - broken ankle, and I had pain radiating from my foot and ankle, up my leg, and into my hip and lower back.

I am fit, average weight (5'8" and 150 lbs) and exercise regularly. I tried a break from exercising, physical therapy, ankle braces and chiropractic care. My pain had been waking me up, so I thought surgery would fix it, along with the supplemental care, and then I went to the Saatva mattress thinking it would help. I continued the supplemental care, but still the pain got worse, and I noticed my injury seemed to be getting incrementally worse over time, not healing, and not getting better, increased pain, increased back pain, and more ankle and foot pain, along with very painful hip and back pain on the injury side (right leg). A few times I would vacation - and when I took my last vacation 2 months ago, I slept on a Sealy hybrid in a hotel and after 9 days my pain was decreasing, and I could feel my back aligning differently.

I also work in retail and have access to many mattresses, and have gotten a lot of negative feedback about the Saatva (lots of complaints from customers about severe back pain). I finally put it all together and realized the mattress just might be the problem. I had called Saatva one year after my purchase to mention some depressed areas in the mattress. The customer service said before they would send another mattress, that I should flip the bed or sleep on the other side (well if I am sharing the bed, how does this help?).

Anyway, I tried it and it was the same. They said the depressions have to be more than 1.5" I think - but mine was not bad enough to warrant action. So I missed the return window, and now another year later, I have been in so much pain that I couldn't focus, couldn't sleep well. So, in summary, I tried a topper (dormeo), I tried mattress pads, etc. to correct the Saatva, and tried multiple supplemental fixes (pt/massage/chiro/braces, foot orthotics). I spent quite a lot of money and time trying to find the cure and solution. I then found the Sealy mattress on vacation. I went into deep research, and tested a lot of mattresses at several galleries in person. I read a lot of consumer reports, and then I found goodbed (website) and it was incredibly accurate on what bed works for me. I am almost exclusively a side sleeper, and side sleepers need medium or plush mattresses.

I researched the Saatva plush thinking I might switch, but neither consumer reports nor goodbed found those to be right for me. I didn't want to risk more money and more time on Saatva. I went into detailed research on Sealy hybrids and found ones that were rated 8.6 to 9.2. The beauty rest hybrid plush are best for me. The get very high ratings for pressure relief for side sleepers. I have one now, and the price was better than Saatva. I am on this hybrid plus Beauty rest, and the pain dissolved. It is not too plush a feel - more medium and suppportive. Maybe Saatva works for back sleepers or people who have no pain or injuries, but it doesn't seem to work for those with injury or back pain, and in fact makes it incredibly worse. So I am leaving this review to hopefully help others and lead them to other options. Also, I sleep hot and I found the Saatva to be on the hot side. I sleep more cool on other mattresses.

I paid over $2,000 for my Saatva and tried to sell it for $250 but zero takers. I sent it to recycle since nobody wanted it and in the bay area there are a lot of people. I'm back to Sealy/Beauty rest and also Serta(my second choice after beauty rest). The only other good one that stood out in my research was the Tempurpedic ProAdapt or Luxe Adapt Hybrid Medium. These also got very good numbers for my side sleeping and pain, but I didn't want to pay retail $5300 for a mattress. I am very happy with my beauty rest and the value. And so gratreful my pain is gone.

Also very grateful to Consumer Reports and Goodbed onlilne. I'm out $2,000 with Saatva --plus all the money spent on supplemental options, and the time spent on those, as well as the time spent in pain every night and day. Too bad I didn't make the connection sooner, and too bad Saatva didn't dig a little deeper when I first called in during the warranty period so I could have gotten a good amount of my purchase money back - I am quite disappointed in them overall, and my health suffered for over 2 years because of their product.
