I've waited until now to share my review because my experience with Tower Loan in Covington was that bad. I was diagnosed with cancer and after that went through a divorce. As a result I called each of my creditors at that time and spoke to them about everything trying to manage a unmanageable situation. Short version of this story is I was screamed at, threatened, disrespected, as was my family members. I've since paid my debts in full. However I’ll NEVER forget how your team behaved. Things are different now. God healed me, and I'm happily remarried. And our finances are healthy.

Funny though, now Im very much a part of the community in St. Tammany Parish. I am at a lot of social events with the parish. And it is now a satisfying hobby of mine to tell anyone who will listen about how horrible the employees at Tower Loan in Covington are, and to avoid them at all costs.

    Best Regards,

They are very unhelpful with the situation too, do NOT do business with them.

Tower Loan of Mississippi is some crooked individuals. I have had several loans with them, but I decided no longer to deal with them. Because of the way they started acting. Especially calling me for the last payment. That was due on the account. They were calling back-to-back. But I captured all of those phone calls and took them and sent them to the consumer protection bureau.

They mailed a real check to my home when I didn't apply for a loan as my credit score has been low and never wanted a loan. But that real check they sent my son stole as he was on drugs at the time. Signed my name, and I busted him. But since I wasn't putting him in jail I told Tower Loans I would pay it, but it was never on my income, my bills, my accord. They will not take partial payments and will call you 22 times in one day at your work. They beat on your door as if they are the police knowing I just got out the hospital that very day. I have never been treated so badly or harassed before. And I am stuck paying them. But, let's see what the judge thinks.

This company is a nightmare. Last year, the manager tried to make me write a HOT CHECK to cover a loan, said if I didn’t, he would sue me. And I was called all types of names. The new manager on 26 is just as bad, I guess the staff likes to argue with the customers. Every other month, I’m charged 2 late fees in a month, even when paid before due date then tells me it’s for the previous month, when late fees were paid again, doesn’t matter if I pay on time or not, I’m still charged late fees. This company treats their customers badly. So if you want to get disrespected, go here. If you want horrible customer service, this is your place, you want to be laughed at, just walk through the door. My experience with the company.

Some would consider this harassment especially since this is publicly known and told to each employee. Today, the manager told me that no provisions were created for government employees. Unfortunately now, my 36 month interest free loan established through Miskelley for merchandise purchased is null and voided with interested being applied. I am writing to share a strong word of caution regarding Tower Loan. This company exemplifies predatory lending practices, and I urge anyone considering their services to look elsewhere to prevent significant financial strain. The experience with Tower Loan can quickly lead to feeling trapped in a cycle of debt due to their high interest rates and fees, which can become unmanageable very quickly. Furthermore, the customer service at the Wells Branch location has been consistently described as poor by other reviewers on platforms like ConsumerAffairs. Staff, including the manager, have been noted as unhelpful and even rude, and this was my experience as well. This company may take advantage of individuals in vulnerable financial situations. Therefore, I strongly advise avoiding Tower Loan, especially the Wells Branch location.

This is one of the most incompetent "loan companies" in existence. I bought a 12X20 shed that was built on my property and financed by Tower Loan through the shed company. No experience with them, I just said fine. The shed was bought from a company operating in Louisiana, I live just across the border in Texas. After a short amount of time of making auto payments, they decided they would switch the account to a Texas based address without letting either me or the bank know. The autopay was declined, of course, because of errant information they were supplying.

I knew nothing about this until they finally sent me a letter. You are behind on your payments. I wondered how I could be behind on my payments with autopay set up? BTW, they charge you a convenience fee to use autopay! Almost $3 every time. I called the number immediately and a long argument ensued. They could not understand the fact that my bank informed me the info on the account had changed and they would not approve payments unless I verified it.

I ended up making 2 payments that month, one the normal autopay which I had had the bank restart and an extra payment to make up for the "missing" one, plus they charged me a $40 late fee plus they reported this situation to the credit bureau, even tho all of this was their fault. Fast forward to last month. I just figured I'd pay this loan off and never do business with them again. On the normal day of my payment last month, the final amount was taken out plus a separate convenience fee and I thought, thank goodness this is over with. Or was it?

The next day, I received a text from Tower Loan saying I am late on my payment. Here we go again, except THIS time, they actually HAD taken the payment. I called these people yet again. I was informed I hadn't made a payment at all. This would be funny if it weren't true. Instead, it is maddening to deal with such moronic incompetence. As if I'm lying about the draft THEY made through autopay. I spent quite a bit of time today on the phone and they came back with: You missed a payment and that has to be made up. The lady didn't want to hear anything else even tho I told her I had made that payment up PLUS paid and $40 fee. I have the proof, my bank statement shows in May of 2023 I made the normal autopay AND the extra payment. But do they want to hear this? No. I am now told they are having staffing trouble and the manager of the store dealing with me will call me back on Monday. Today is WEDNESDAY.

There is one thing for certain: I am NOT paying them another dime. They will have to take me to court and I will produce the bank statements of every payment including the make-up payment with the $40 fee. And let me tell you this. There is no corporate number for this company. You cannot call their headquarters - well you might be able to if you use one of these online search companies and pay a fee for it. Who knows. They are located in Flowood, Mississippi which is near Jackson. If they weren't that far away, I would just go visit them and deal with this in person.

Since I can't, I sent them a note which is then directed back to where? The store that you deal with and in this case, a manager who isn't available until next week. And I will remain true to my word, I have the evidence, they are not getting another penny from me and I would suggest you never do business with this shady company.

When I told him this he became aggressive and when I asked him to send another one he said, "We can’t do that, you’re 3 months past due." I informed him I was trying to pay off the loan completely but I need that letter. Have paid off two loans twice now and both time early and they still final billed me for the rest of the interest on the contract. They use what they call rule 78, but even then I paid the loan 9 months early. STAY AWAY!

They check your credit which causes a ding in your score, never gives you a return call to say if you are approved or not, I had to make a call to the office only to find out. They never asked me if I wanted my score checked just proceeded to do it and when I called the lady said oh it was some underwriting company. If a person was in need of a loan they wouldn't help.

The experience from this company is horrible. The amount of harassment calls is unbelievable. 10 plus calls a day. I don't recommend this company to anyone. Rude and unprofessional. The Oakdale office is the worse.

I have made ZERO loan inquiries. Yet Tower Loan sent me a $6,004.00 check out of the blue. No application or approval process. I'm sorry, that's not advertising, that's entrapment! That's not all, cashing it means I agree to a 35.8% interest rate! Almost $3,000.00 on top of the $6,000.00, and that's if I can pay it off in 2 years. Like probably most others who received one of these I definitely could not pay it off in that amount of time so the interest total would be even higher!

Luckily, I'm old enough to know better and not currently desperate for money. Unfortunately, that's not the case for all those who received one of these checks. Banks who use "live checks" target lower income, moderate credit folks. That's not my opinion, that's fact, Google it. These "live checks" leave so very many with terrible credit, and in a cycle of debt, just paying down interest. When they never even looked for a loan in the first place! In my opinion this is the absolute lowest of predatory Lending!

I am NOT a customer of this company. One of their employees came to my house, about 10/ or so miles from town. This person drives into my carport and begins yelling out the window. Now, with all the shootings and robberies around here lately, I may exit my home with a firearm. This person could have stopped in the driveway and used the sidewalk like a normal person would. But, he decided it was better to drive into my carport and begin yelling out the window. My security system captured all of this. I sent an email to the company service, but don't know if they will do anything. They may want to teach their employees how approach someone's house. So, watch out if someone approaches your house. Be ready for a firefight, but it may be one of their idiots looking for someone else...

They are terrible with confidentiality. They will do whatever they feel is ok to obtain information. The most unethical place I have ever had to deal with. By no means will I ever be using them again. I am a private person and they went to people who were not a reference of mine. And began airing my business.

I got a notice in the mail that I was pre-approved for a $50,000 loan. I spoke with the company and told them I only wanted 25000 to consolidate my debt to one payment and have it deducted from my bank account. At this time I was told that I was not approved and that they wanted to get me in their program to negotiate my debt. I told the woman that I was not interested because I was fully capable of paying my bills, I was looking for convenience. She kept saying that was what they were doing. I told her when I got the cards I signed and gave my word that I would pay my full debt. She said what did I care that the Banks sure didn't care about me.

She asked why I wouldn't want to spend quality time with my wife and have money in my pocket. When I told her that I had never been late on a payment, always paid a few dollars more than the minimum, had a lot of quality time with my wife and would be willing to bet her that I had more money in my pocket than she did, she told me she didn't understand me and ended the conversation.
