I got a loan from them for furniture in 2020. Never late! They kept calling trying to get me to get extra money and I would refuse. Then all of sudden I started getting calls saying I’m late. I go there with receipts. They show where a payment was received late and I had to make a late fee. 3 months later same thing. So I asked them, "Are you intentionally holding my payments, just so you can credit them late so I would have to pay more. Because as you can see I’m making the payments and you are receiving them them on time." They got extremely mad and started cussing. So I asked him to explain why they are been credited late when you are receiving them on time.

Every single month I set up a payment to pay these people. I get paid twice a month and the way my bills are set up I pay them with my second check and like clockwork, I start getting calls. When will I pay, I tell a person then another one call the next day. I’m like, are you serious? I get talked to any kind of way. This last time a girl called and I said, "I will be setting up a payment for the next Tuesday." Well, she misunderstood and someone else called.
I’m like, "I said Tuesday. I never not pay." I said, "I don’t like y’all calling like I don’t pay." The fur Erin says, "And we don’t like you." I was like wow. I asked for a manager. He said, "I am the manager." So I said, "Well let me talk to your manager." He started screaming and I hung up. I called the office back and a woman answered. I then asked for a manager. She said, "Who is this." I said, "Excuse me, I need a manager." She answered, "What’s your name." I hung up. The most unprofessional people I have ever seen. It’s unreal. I will never do business with them and I hope and pray that I can hurry up and pay them because no one deserves to be treated like that.

I took out a loan for my daughter to help her with a personal issue. She lost her job and was having trouble pay the loan. I called and asked if we could pay the interest on it and explained my situation. That technically it was my daughter's loan but in my name. I am on disability and can barely pay my own bills. They told me they didn’t do the pay the interest thing and that I needed to pay something by a certain date. They kept calling me, harassing my Mom, harassing my friend in Lake Charles. I called them once again and tried to explain my situation. Told them I couldn’t handle the stress right now. It’s the holidays, my son has been missing since Aug of 2014. That I was already fragile, to please stop I’m doing the best I can.
Finally they said if I brought a certain amount in by the end of the day that would catch me up till next payment. I got with my daughter, between the 2 of us we came up with that amount and she went and paid it. The VERY NEXT DAY, they are calling me asking when will we back in to make a payment. I explained to them that she went in yesterday and made that payment like she had said. She tells me, "Yes she did but she didn’t say that’s what it was for." I told her, "What do you mean?" She tells me to do a deferment. I would have had to sign a document. I told her, "But that’s not what you told me." She said, "When will you be back in to make a payment." I tried once again to explain to her, "I did what you asked, you didn’t apply it the way you said you was." Then I told my daughter to just go in as soon as you can and pay something. I don’t care how much, just anything. When she tried to do that they refused payment.
This month I went online and paid a note plus some, of course I still have a negative balance. Next day they are calling me asking when I was going to make a payment. I explained to them I just did yesterday but they told me I still owed a balance. NOTHING is good enough. It’s not bad enough that they constantly call me every 30 minutes but they call my Mom and Mary. Mary is fighting MS and has asked them to quit calling her. My Mom is 73 yrs old and taking care of a challenged adult. They need to STOP! I am about to take legal actions if this doesn’t quit.

The people at Tower Loan are rude and and unprofessional. After my loan was paid in full in less than 90 days, Tower Loan reported to the credit report that I borrowed much more than I did. Tower Loan wanted me to put my car up for collateral. Because of the above reasons and more, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Tower Loan didn't want to take my final payment. I had to call about 4 times and they charged me more than I owed. Tower Loan won't update my credit report account to reflect paid on time x 3 months, and paid in full. I filed a dispute with the credit bureaus and Tower Loan still haven't updated my credit report. I was still approved through reputable and well established companies with much better terms. I didn't have to put my car up for collateral and the interest rate is less than half of what Tower Loan wanted to charge me. I, also, filed a review with the Better Business Bureau. Please, do your due diligence.

I got a loan over 10 years ago with this place in Sikeston Mo. I fell on hard times and couldn't pay. Since then they have sued me and I got a 1900 loan. Know my court case online shows that amount as my judgment but when I got served the lawyer they used Schwartzkopf law office WROTE in a judgment interest of almost $9,000. Making me owe 10,000 not the 1900.00 and the garnishment is to be paid to that lawyer. Nowhere on Casenet does it show any interest amount to be paid only the 1900 judgment. I don't think this is legal at all.

This company has very bad values and the way they talk to you over the phone is uncalled for, one manager talked over me. And demanded I make one late payment by Friday or she was going to take me to court. Then used foul language the bword said I was making up excuses as to why I missed one payment and wouldn't have the money until the end of the month, will not work with you at all, and demand the money be paid or else. I have already paid back half my loan on a monthly basis but they don't understand I only make 11.15 an hour at my work, and only work twenty hours a week. I'm not full time and then they constantly call and harass my parents, call me at my own work place when I don't call them back at their command.

I received a check in the mail and cashed it from Tower Loan. Since then I have had serious financial issues. I am a mom of 4 children and my youngest daughter was born with a rare blood disorder which requires multiple hospital stays, painful episodes, and many days of missed work for me. I can barely pay my rent. Mr. Ben ** from Zachary La tower loan (225-654-1539) initially came by my home a month ago. He told me he couldn't reach me via phone, so I provided him with the correct number.
I told him a little of my circumstances and I would try to pay something when I got my next check. I ended up missing more work due to my daughter’s hospitalization, and I also received NO calls from Ben on my new number. About 5 days ago I was in the hospital with my daughter and my children called me in tears. They said someone was beating on our front door and rang the doorbell over 10 times, and whoever it was stayed about 7-10 minutes repeatedly beating the door. I told them stay in the house and I would be there as soon as I could.
When I came home there was an envelope asking me to call Ben. I called Ben via my house phone today and the 2nd call I spoke with him. I told him I received his letter, but has he tried calling me on my home phone? He just said 'what is that number?" I told him it was the number I gave him when he stopped by. I asked if he was beating on my door last week and he stated yes. I told him that he terrified my children and to please not come back to my home. He immediately told me he is now going to sue me, and garnish my wages. He cut me off when I attempted to speak again and told me he didn't care at all about anything I have to say. He just continued to say 'when are you going to pay your 446.00?"
I advised him not to cut me off and to treat me with human decency and respect. He said no. He told me he will not speak to me with respect and I don’t deserve decency. I was calling him to discuss payment arrangements since I saw his letter. I wanted to try to pay the full balance but I didn't have it at the moment. But I wanted to let him know that I am trying to take a loan from my 401k to pay it but he wouldn't allow me to speak. He continued to tell me he didn't care about me, what I had to say, that this is a business and the people don't matter.
After trying to speak with him and let him know I refuse to be disrespected and spoken to this way, he still would not stop. I told him not to call me again and disconnected the call. He called back again which is against the FDCPA law. Once a consumer asks you to stop calling them you may not call back unless you are stating there will be no further contact, or to tell what actions you will legally be taking. However, when I answered the phone he said 'so you're a thief?" I calmly stated AGAIN, "If you would have listened I would have explained what is going on. Why would a thief call to make payment arrangements Ben?"
The intelligence is sub-par. The unprofessionalism is out of this world. The lack of human decency is disgusting. I asked to speak to someone else to solve the issue and he refused. I told him again that I am a person and I deserve to be spoken to with respect and if he had not of cut me off he would heard me tell him I have been in the hospital with my baby not knowing if she would live or die. He told me all I had were excuses. My child being in the hospital is ‘excuses’. Some humans justify their disgusting behavior to help them sleep at night. Anyone who can treat others this way is devoid of their humanity, and most likely hurting inside. I would advise Ben to get therapy & stay far away from customers. I would advise anyone else thinking of cashing a check with Tower loan to tear it up and throw it away. This is not how you conduct business, or get what you want from others. Kindness would have gone a long way, and best of all it's free.

These people changed my account number and service branch by themself. Since my first payment I went to the original branch at Schertz, TX, and set the autopay feature. They changed the account number without notify me and disabled the autopay feature without any notification. I received a mailed letter saying that I was behind my payment and adding $19.20 fee for late payment. I called the San Antonio branch and they just don't care about the changes that they made and the added charges, plus they make you to open an account on a online pay service that charges you an additional $2.95 per month. I ended paying $22.15 more per month because they arbitrarily, without my consent and without any notification changed my account branch and number. Scamming for extra money and forcing me to use their "online pay service" with another extra charge.

I had a small loan with Tower Loan and after many months of perfect payments they continued to call several times per month to say you have been approved for additional money. After several phone calls I called to inquire about a loan to repair my car for $600 with no change in payments. Once I got there and was reviewing the terms the payment amount had changed so I refused to sign and the representative got the manager to approve it at the same payment amount I was suppose to pay and added insurance that they said would not make a difference. I was told I was going to get $500 and then after I said I thought I was getting $600 so she said after talking again to the manager that I would get something like $597 with a new due date only. I was under the impression that I would keep my payments in the same pay range but that was not the case when I tried to pay them after calling to get new account number.
After speaking to the manager who tried to speak over me he kept telling me if I bring their check back uncashed then he could change the terms. I told him that was a month ago and you know it's been cashed but I can give you your money back and he said he needed the check. I told him he just lost a customer and he said he had 3500 more and I said minus one and the many others I hope decide not to do business with Tower Loan. Shady practices at a high cost.

Now that I told them it wasn't me and to mail me whatever they need to they are now threatening to sue cuz of the fraud they're trying to do in my name and claim that they can't send me anything to sign cuz its a legal document and they need my id which seems extremely sketchy.

Like many Americans, I ran into some struggles financially. One day, I received this check in the mail. It was from Tower Loan. I had just gotten a new job, but I didn't have any money saved up and I had expenses coming due soon. So I cashed the check with the expectation that I would be able to repay the loan. For context, I am dealing with the Rockford, IL branch specifically. Well, that didn't happen. I made the first payment, but then lost my job in some unfortunate circumstances. I became ill and cannot work anymore due to the nature and severity of my illness. I am also currently not eligible to draw disability benefits, as I have not gone through that process yet.
Now that we're all set up, let me tell you about my experience so far. The first call or two wasn't so bad. They called, asked why I hadn't made my payment yet, no big deal. I explained my situation to them, and they let me be. A few days later, I get a call from the manager. His name is Zach, and he talks with a rather distinct hint of a southern accent. That's not important, but what is important is how rude he was. I once again explained to him my situation, and he demanded to know when I would be able to pay. I told him I didn't know, but it wouldn't be in the immediate future. He became rather rude and said "That's not good enough. I need to know when to expect your next payment!" I told him I had no way of knowing that as I, unfortunately, cannot see into the future. Still, this wasn't too bad. The next part is worse.
A week passes. Suddenly, I get a call from my mom. She tells me that some loan company was asking her about me and told her to tell me to give them a call. Then I get a call from my dad, my grandpa, my aunt, and some relatives that I haven't seen in literally 15 years or longer. All of them wanted the exact same thing. They all passed on the same message. I can understand how they found my immediate family, but I have no idea how they got in contact with my distant relatives. So I called them back. I get a random person on the phone. I was absolutely livid. I told them if they ever called any of my family again, I would file suit.
The very next day, I get a call from Zach again. He half-heartedly apologizes for getting my family involved, but then he wants me to see things from his point of view. He literally says "Man, I just need you to understand that I'm doing my job. By not keeping my numbers up, you would be taking food out of my kids' mouths. Now I don't want that to happen, and I know you don't want that to happen. So just make an arrangement with me to pay, and I promise these phone calls stop." I don't know what he thought that would achieve, but it only served to make me see red. I went off on him, telling him that guilt tripping me doesn't make money suddenly appear in my pocket. I then hung up my phone and kept ignoring their calls for the rest of the day.
Time passes, more calls, more offers, and more pleading. I still can't get a job, I'm on constant treatment for my illness, and I'm currently fighting in the courts to get disability. Zach had the audacity to go to my grandparents' house in person to hand them a letter for me in my absence. I called him up and absolutely reamed him out over the phone. He has the stones to tell me that if I just make a payment, he will leave me alone. I tell him "What part of I don't have any money, do you not understand?" He tells me that I must have some money, as my other bills are still current. I tell him, yeah, because my essential stuff is being paid for by my family. He then gets the nerve to tell me "So this isn't important to you?" I tell him no. He hangs up.
More time passes. It is now late September/early October of this year. Zach tells me that he's going to have to send this up to the lawyers since I won't pay him. I tell him to go ahead, it won't make any difference. He asks why not. I tell him because, like always, I have no money. He then stupidly suggests that he will take it out of my family's bank account. I tell him he literally cannot do that, as my contract is between only me and them, not also in my family. He then says he will take my personal property to settle the loan. I tell him that I own absolutely nothing of value. He asks about a TV, a laptop, and other belongings. I tell him I own none of those things, which is true as I didn't buy any of them myself. He calls me a liar, but admits that he can't really prove that the items are mine.
This takes us to this afternoon. Zach has called me once again after more than 6 weeks of not hearing from him. He once again seems to have forgotten that I am sick, cannot work, and still have no money. He's still threatening to sue. I tell him he will just be wasting the resources in doing so, as you cannot collect orange juice from a turnip. So there it is: A tale of someone who made an error in judgment, and another man who engages in predatory business practices yet lacks any shred of decency and common sense. Do not take even a dollar from them. They will hound you until the end of time, regardless of the reason you cannot pay them.

The manager told me that a bunch of people say that they are filing bankruptcy and don’t and that she would collect the money owed however possible. She also said that my bankruptcy was taking too long and that basically I was a liar. I reported her behavior and lack of knowledge to corporate headquarters. Worst mistake I have ever made… only took a 1,000 dollars. 2 weeks after I took the loan lost my job. I communicated with them to explain to them what’s going on. July rolls around had a good job. Started making my payments middle of july, this is were it all goes downhill.
8-8-21 came I was making weekly payments of a $100. Kept records of the payments to them. They called said I never made a payment and now I owe 3,500 to them. I asked, "Where is the money I paid y'all and have been taking out towards my loan." Neve gave me an answer. So so I said, "Y'all do know I have my bank records of the money being taken out to pay the loan off."
Harassing me daily… got to the point they came to my work. Made a scene at my job asking for me, demanding my employer to give them money, all it did was piss my employer off and let me go. So back to looking for another job.. I found out where the money was going. One of their workers was pocketing my money and say they never got it, Already at this time I have a lawsuit against them. Tower Loan does not help people, they hurt people. When you're in a bind, sometimes out of desperation you choose avenues that are wrong. I truly agree with everyone of the reviews I read. The company is heartless. The Bible says usury is wrong. These people are going to have to answer to God for their tactics against the poor and those who have no idea what the company will do even if you have a crisis, they laugh at you and say others are in the same boat. As a Veteran who served their country with honor, who has physical disabilities like a lot of good folks is now realizing the insanity of trying to pay off this company of a loan that has tripled because of their high interest. I now live on a government set income, they cannot touch me. My loan would have been paid off by now had the interest not been so high. Please never set foot in their office for any reason. They started calling me at work, so I told them do not call me at work. Later that same day, they called me at work again, so I talked to the District Manager. He was really no help, just like Alexa and everyone else at the office, he just kept overtalking me about getting a payment. Wasn't too concerned at all about them violating my rights and calling me at work. Can't wait to be done with them, they actually called my job again about a week later. Then called to solicit additional funds after I caught the account up. What a joke.

Tower loan sent me an unsolicited loan in the form of a check, not a fake check but a real check! I had never heard of them before. They sent the check out in the midst of the Chinese virus and also a few weeks before Christmas. I cashed the check, that's on me, I was trying to survive what covid had done to our country... But again, I was stupid and cashed it. They ARE THE WORSE company I have ever had to deal with! They call people after I have asked them not to call (I have no idea how they got the numbers of relatives and friends). They treat you like a criminal and talk to you with so much disrespect it's appalling! They constantly spoof their phone number to make it look like it's coming from a different place, even a different state!
I have never been late on a single payment in any of my many credit cards and car loan, I caught covid and was out of work for more than a month, I told them this, do you think they cared? As soon as I was done telling them how I am just recovering from the disease and have been out of work, how I have a son with autism and have been paying for his many medicines insurance wont cover, they said (without missing a beat) "well you cashed this check, so you owe us this money, how much can you pay today." They asked if I could borrow money from a family member so I could pay them! Well, I take my credit seriously and I will pay them, but they definitely made it to last on my list. And to ANYONE THINKING OF USING THESE PREDATORS,...DON'T DO IT! Ride it out if at all possible because this company is the poster child for DISGRACEFUL, PREDATORY LENDING PRACTICES!!!!

I finally received a settlement check after 4 1/2 years from the great flood of 2016. After carrying a very small second mortgage with what is now Tower Loan for 14 years, without a single late payment, and the balance at only $4k, the Hammond Louisiana office would only endorse the back of the settlement check if I would pay off this long and very high interest loan. Of course, they already received most all of the interest on the 15-year loan. The loan was originally taken out with Harrison Finance but sold out to Tower loan in recent years.
Harrison Finance would allow to me walk in the door at my convenience, with my flood insurance check, and sign the back without question and send me on my way. And these were very sizable checks, up to $20,000. This office and its manager are despicable. Imagine, holding hostage a check I desperately needed for 4.5 years and they hold it hostage. I went to Tower Loan company in July of 2018 and was about to apply for a loan but they responded to me that their system was down and that it will be back up soon and asked if I would like to wait. I decided to wait. My children was with me and it was taking longer than expected for their system to come back up. I spoke to the lady that was working with me that I wasn't going to apply for a loan and that I was leaving. Well in September I went on Credit Karma to check on my credit report and notice that my score had dropped. I looked to find out why and notice that tower loan company did a inquiry on my credit report without my permission.
I contacted the company immediately and spoke with the manager which was told to me they had to talk with someone in corporate and get back with me. I never received a call back so I kept contacting them. I figured out how to get in touch with someone at the corporate office and spoke with a gentleman there that stated he would take care of it. He responded it will take 30 days before the inquiry is removed.
In October 2018 I went on credit karma again and notice my score dropped again. Instead of them removing the inquiry they did another inquiry on my credit report. Now I have two inquiry on my report from them. I contacted Equifax and Transunion to report this and they both stated I need to contact tower loan company and they are the one that have to remove the inquiry/ I contacted tower loan company head corporation and spoke with a gentlemen and responded to him what Equifax/ Transunion stated, he then had someone from the Lee's Summit Mo branch office to contact me and have me to come in and sign a document that stated the inquiry were requested in error.
I mailed the document to Equifax/Transunion. They sent me a letter back stating they couldn't remove the inquiry. I contacted Equifax/Transunion and asked why the inquiry couldn't be removed. They stated they couldn't. Tower loan company has to remove it. They also responded that tower loan company knows the procedure and told me to tell them if they are having problems to contact them. Well once again I contacted the gentlemen from tower loan corporation and responded to him what was told to me. He became angry. Refused to remove the inquiries. I received a check through the mail in Nov. 2019. I was use to doing business with Harrison Finance that was purchased by tower loan. I cashed the check from Nov, 2019. So I kept getting calls from tower loan that they had an extra $1000 if I needed it. Due to the Covid 19 I finally said ok after the 7th call in 2 weeks. The girl said I would just need to come in to sign papers and pick up check. I told her I was busy but would try.
The next day she called again so I dropped everything and ran to sign papers. When I got there she sat down with me and started asking did I have a lawnmower, I said yes, she said, "What kind," I said a push mower, she listed that I had a zero turn, she ask about tools, I said I have a pair of pliers, screwdriver, hammer, just little little essential things a woman uses in a home. She listed tools at &100, socket set at $100, wrench set at $100. She ask about Tv, I told her I had a dinosaur tv because I don’t watch a lot of tv, she listed as flatscreen at $500, 2nd flat screen 65” at $500, she ask if I had a computer, I said I had a laptop my son gave me used about 8 years ago, she listed that at $300. She ask if I owned chainsaw, compressor, shed, I said no but she still put a price by all those things. Needless to say all this time I did not know she was putting value on things that were false.
She left to wait in a customers for about 20 minutes, I told her I was in a hurry and we could just cancel the loan. She came back and said, "No just let me print the loan for you to sign and _____ can't remember her name—-will give you your check." Needless to say she rushed through the signing of paperwork. Not once did she tell me she had put my prior loan with this one, nor she she said all the items she ask about was collateral until I ask her but still didn’t realize she listed stuff I don’t own.
After getting check a, the next day I pulled out loan papers, YEP she had combined loans (paid off previous). Had all kind of stuff listed as collateral but also charged me credit life ins for $215.88, property ins $404.12, Liberty Motor Club $120. I called and ask for supervisor, it says I have 30 days if I don’t want loan. Needless to say it’s been 10 days and I have not heard from a supervisor. Just a smartass manager. They are no working numbers for corporate office. Guess what, if they can’t work with me and redo my first check loan and take back their $1000 then they can eat this Loan. I own nothing and I draw Social Security so let them bring it. I have already spoke with an attorney. Please don’t do business with this company. I completed payment of 2 loans with Tower. The 2nd one refinanced an earlier original loan in 2013 and paid off in October of 2014. Paid in full. Closed current and reported as paid in full - there were late payments during the loan that were correctly reported. Suddenly on April 1 2020 they hit my credit report and tanked it 50 points. Then called attempting to collect on that debt with threats of legal action. I will obtain an attorney and I WILL proceed with legal action. I have worked very hard to restore my credit and this illegal, threatening action is absolutely despicable. I expect immediate reversal of their current actions against me and my credit report. Horrible company.

Tower deserves a minus rating at the very least! I am in Springfield MO and I got a loan with them. I was paying my payments. I didn't find out until I started getting these late notices and I called them, that they had taken part of my payment as a late fee! I received no statement or no notice they were doing this. I called them and couldn't get any details. Finally I asked for an itemized statement. I received it and found out they had taken a late fee out of my last 4 payments! I called and a girl told me NO problem just pay a little extra each time and you will get that cleared up. So I did. They are still charging a late fee on their late fee charges!!
I called and they were very rude to me and told me I was late on my payments. I said not true and that I had been sending more than my payment and before the due date! I also told this guy what the other lady had told me and he basically call me a liar. I have been in contact with the BBB and filed a claim against Tower Loan. These people are crooks!! My dad had a couple accounts with this company. A personal loan and furniture financed through them. After he passed away I notified them of his passing. They insisted on picking up furniture that was not paid off. Which is fine. I did not have a problem with this. They show up to look at the furniture with no way to load it. No truck, no scheduling, nothing! So we delivered it to their office for them. They had nowhere to put it. It literally sat in their storefront. I provided them with the death certificate which should have close the account considering he had no estate, no executor, and nothing to put into probate.
They continued to call asking about life insurance and if there was any money anywhere. After continuous calls every few weeks to "follow up" we explained to them that this was harassing. They hide behind their managers but yet a manager is never available, will not return calls, and will not give out a manager's phone number. These people are disgusting.

If I was able to give Tower Loan of Houma a rating below 1, I would give them an even lower rating. I feel like I'm living in Purgatory dealing with these people. Originally got the $1200 loan through Harrison Finance in 2013. HF was very good good to me. They were understanding and worked with me if I needed it. 3 years ago, they stopped my payments while I was out on medical leave until I was back on my feet. While HF was amazing to work with, this loan was my biggest mistake next to marrying my first husband. TL took over HF while I was on med leave. I had no idea Tower Loan took over until they started calling wanting payment.
Back in October I contacted Curadebt to combine all the medical bills and Tower Loan. Found out AFTER I consolidated everything that TL doesn't deal with debt consolidation. They filed a judgement against me and have a court date next month. When I tried to explain to their manager why I did what I did, her response was... "and you see where that's got you."
Today, my sister paid a portion of what I was behind on to keep me from going to court. After she paid them, they called me asking for $150 of court fees (I haven't been to court yet) and offered to come to my job to collect payment. When I told them no because I worked at the jail they said 'it's not that far'. I told them no again and that I didn't want them there and stay the hell away from job. 7 years later and my loan is now at $3000. I feel like I'm falling down a hole where there's no end in sight. I know we all go through desperate times at one point in our lives, but please stay away from Tower Loan.

I was discharged from the hospital the week before Thanksgiving, and sent to Occupational & Physical therapy. I was discharged from both of them right before Christmas. They relentlessly harassed me calling several times a day even on Saturdays even when they knew I was in the hospital, they called my family, my friends it was horrible. Then someone else cashed a check that they sent me even though I told them I didn't want ANYTHING ELSE from them EVER.
Clearly you can tell it's not my signature but because of my health issues I haven't been able to go and sign and affidavit of forgery so they threaten me with wage garnishments, police arrests and court. And they have even given out personal information about my loan to a family member & friend, which is against the law. If you need a loan please go to another company. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!! I'D GO TO A LOAN SHARK BEFORE I'D EVER BORROW FROM THEM!!! Then to add insult to injury when I tried to make a payment today he refused to take it over the phone. Hello everyone, I took out 2 different loans with Tower Loan. They have been great to work with and have some awesome employees. They are professional and just great to deal with. They are careful about how much they loan you because they want to make sure you can pay back the loan. I live in Missouri so maybe the laws may be different for each state Tower Loan does business in. As far as I am concerned, they have been concerned about my financial matters in paying them back and have been very nice. They always worked with me and give me an extra ten to thirteen day leeway to send in my payment. They have never charged me extra for this service. If I miss a payment, then it must be because of a family emergency or death. There must be a reason and they will waive it for that month.
Remember Tower Loan will not always do this! You must prove you were not in state at that time or lost your job. I personally think it's a good business who cares about their clients unlike many others I have dealt with like Acima. Acima are the worse kind of scum. They are rip off artist! They promise $80 a month for 12 months then charge $250 a month for 12 months. I bought a queen size bed and the merchant gave me a full size bed. Suppose to pay $900 and it's off brand. Now I owe Acima $2,000/$250 a month for 12 months. Now who is the rip off artist? It's "NOT" Tower Loan!

But might have to start driving back to drop off my payment just so I don’t have to pay that extra $5.00 online. To pay almost $5.00 for a convenience fee is simply outrageous. I have been trying since Saturday to find out why a loan request was approved for a lesser amount than requested. At first the person I spoke Tonga’s attentive and responsive. After being told he’d follow up, I hadn’t heard anything. I contacted him today, and he has accepted an answer from his upper management or corporate office and has disregarded one of my concerns. My credit report shows 2 hard pulls for credit review on my file. He says he’s been told they only pull one; suggesting I am being untruthful. He told me I must dispute with credit reporter.
Secondly, nobody in the entire Tower Loan organization can tell me why my loan was approved for less than what was requested. He told me a computer analyzes a request for credit, looks at many factors such as income, length on job and length at residence, etc. and determines what is an approvable amount. No human will review an application approves for less. However a human does look at all DENIED applications to see if their people can see something different than the computer to get someone approved.
I asked why situations as mine aren’t reviewed, and was told they don’t have the manpower or time to look at all “approved” applications in which an individual isn’t satisfied (or in my case curious). He then said a credit counselor (not with Tower—they don’t have them) would be able to tell me why I did not get what was requested. I explained that there was no way a third party would know why Tower’s COMPUTER approved us for one amount instead of what was requested. He then backpedaled that they would be able to guide me as to the troubled areas of our credit.
I am an educated consumer that would never use Tower Loan and their outrageous interest rates. Because the store we purchased furniture from is reputable and it is an interest free loan, I relented. What a mistake. I honestly feel as if my business is meaningless to them and since no interest is collected, my situation doesn’t matter. I’m mortified that the store has been notified of a reduced approval and angry that nobody can discuss WHY. My advice is to steer clear from Tower Loan and especially the one in Columbia, MO. They apparently don't care about good customer service. As a bit of background I have a lot of experience with credit, credit scores and debt. I’m not an idiot who accepts that a “computer” can give an accurate credit review.

Then, the site won’t give you your loan amount or payment history, AND they charge you an additional $5 every time you make a payment online. Oh, and they constantly call and leave you voicemails saying you must contact them about your account right away, but if you return the call they only ask if you want to take out another loan with them. After leaving a review of how I was called derogatory names and cursed by a loan officer at Tower Loan because I changed my mind about getting a loan. Due to high interest I decided to borrow money from family to fix my car instead due to the fact that I already had an existing furniture loan with them so I didn’t want to put myself in debt. 30 minutes after I took out the personal loan I went back to the office to cancel, the loan officer stated I owed 80 dollars for a processing fee. I read to him where it stated I have 30 days to change my mind without charges and I called another location to verify and they stated the same thing.
I was cursed at and told he was the owner. I didn’t feel comfortable making my furniture payments in person with this 6ft man and I’m a 5.0 woman, so I would call to make payments and he would put me on hold and never come back to the phone or hang up on me, there was a female as well and if she answered she would laugh and put me on hold as well without returning to the phone. Just very unprofessional.
I left a review on here and I got a phone call from the owner literally a few days after posting and he said I better change my review because after 2 days I got my 80 dollars back and he made it clear he knew my address. So I changed my review to let people know I got my money back however that doesn’t excuse the fact of how I was treated. This depresses me after nearly 4 years I still have nightmares of this man. I still have the videotape of him cursing me and am considering a lawsuit. Stay AWAY from Tower Loan VOLUMNIS MISSOURI LOCATION!!!

The Tower Loan office in Daphne Alabama was formerly Harrison Loan before it was purchased by Tower Loan three months ago. I have had a loan with Harrison for nearly 3 years and always made my payment on the first of each month, never late. The first payment was due with Tower on April 2. I called in and was told that I had a late charge of $48. I told them that was impossible, and I was told that there was a glitch in the merger of the databases so they would have to send an email to HQ to get this fixed.
Two days later I called back and it was fixed and I made my payment. Then three days later I received a late payment notice from them which I ignored. Then a week later I received a final late notice, so I called them immediately and they told me to disregard it. The next month on May first I called to make a payment and it was the exact same problem all over again, late notices and all. But then on June 1 it got worse. I attempted to pay and was told I had a $10 late fee and was asked would I like to go ahead and pay and include the late fee. I asked would I get the $10 overcharge credited back to my account and was told No. I was shocked at that and said then just fix it like the past two months (I said a lot more than that actually).
I called back on the June 4 and it was still not fixed. I called back on June 5 and it was still not fixed. I called back on June 7 and was told that I can either pay the $10 or drive to the Foley Branch office (10 miles from my house) and they could accept a cash payment for the correct monthly payment. I got real ugly at this point and threatened them with notification to the Alabama Attorney General's Office, but she didn't really care, she just repeated my options, pay $10 or go to Foley. I told her Tower is punishing me for their problem and she said, "We are not punishing you, I am trying to help you". I told her that if I have to go to the bank and get cash and drive 10 miles each way to make a payment because Tower can't get their system resolved, then that is unfair and not an acceptable solution and I am reporting this.
She then proceeds to tell me if I would like to come in and get more money on a new loan that this problem would be fixed. I said, "Are you crazy?" and hung up. This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard of and according to Tower, there are several hundred of us with the same issue going on. They will not give me a name or number to talk to someone of higher authority. So as of now, I have not made my payment and I am approaching an actual late fee date, what a mess. I emailed a complaint to the Attorney General 30 minutes ago.

Needing money I went to their office where they told me I needed to purchase insurance on the loan. Having never had a loan before this I signed the forms AND WAS SHOCKED when I received the amount due which was over 3500 dollars. I made some payments then started getting very very rude phone calls. Now I am being garnished for 4600 dollars.

I asked to borrow $300 and they told me I had to borrow $600. That $600 loan turned out to be over $1,300... when I made my first payment, they told me I could get $500 more... I did and they paid the first loan off with a little over $700. That $1,200 turned into $2,600 @ $100/26 months. When I felt that I had paid them a justified amount of over $1,800, I told them I wasn't paying anymore. They took me to court and the judge asked Tower Loan why we're wasting his time and mine because I was on Social Security Disability and my money could not be touched. They reported me as a charge-off and is due to fall off my credit report next year.
After that they tried to set up payment arrangements and I told them where they could go. I have had two loans with Harrison Finance and now Tower Loan has acquired Harrison Finance, but the nice people at Harrison Finance assured me that nothing would change with my current loan agreement. When this loan is paid off, I am done. I will not do business with Tower Loan and everyone I know that has done business with them, says Tower Loan SUCKS... don't do business with those CROOKS!!!

They won't even help you when you're trying to help yourself get out of debt by consolidating your bills. I DID so and I would be paying them over 50 percent of the bill. My bill is 117.00 and the company I went thru to cure my debt was sending them 88.00. Leaving a total of 29.00. That's half the bill. They told me by their supervisor Austin ** that if I signed for the 117 payment then they want their whole amount. This company is a fraud and a fake. They call you when you make a full payment to ask if you need money. But they also call you if your 5.00 dollars behind also. They are not true. They lie. They make your credit report bad. They are cruel and unworthy as a loan company. Please whatever you do when in need for money do not go to Tower Loan. They are a bad seed. The company is awful.
No matter how good it looks they will never help hard earnest people as myself and the others they have ripped off. Do not go get a loan from any branch. They are not worth your time nor your hard earned dollars. Find a First Franklin Financial company or a security finance company. Which meant I only had to pay $200 plus the little interest. I went in to pay thinking might be at least close to $300, WRONG, they want me to pay back $600. I asked, "Why?" She said it occurs interest. I asked, "how much, $100 a month interest?" She told me it occurs interest daily, not monthly. What kind of scam are they playing here.
When I came in for the loan the young lady told me one thing. Now this lady is telling me something totally different. I will NEVER EVER deal with Tower again. I used them 16 years ago and I had never ever had this issue with them. But they are out of their mind and it should be illegal what they are trying to do. I was actually going to go in tomorrow and take out another loan with them. But not now, not ever. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I advise anyone thinking of going to Tower to think again. These folks are wanting money they aren't owed. And charging interest that they aren't owed. Not to mention I have NEVER yet received a bill from them. I am writing this review to hopefully save someone from the nightmare I have had to endure with Tower Loan for 10 years. I originally started with this company for a bedroom loan for around $1000 to be paid in the 2 year period. Before getting to the payoff, Tower Loan offered me money of $500 dollars. I accepted the money and then the nightmare began. The payments were about $120 dollars a month. Heaven forbid you are a day late, because the charges with rack up and you will not be able to catch up payments.
Over the course of the next 8 years, I maybe accepted $200 dollars total after this. I kept trying to play catch up from getting behind on payments. When they offer you to "Get caught up" and not be late, I guess what they do is take the late charges and make a whole new loan on the late charges, again charging you more and more interest. 10 years into this loan, I still owe $3000 dollars. Although, I paid almost all of the original loan money, I still owe an extremely lot of money. Every time I get a receipt, the amount owed is still $3000 dollars. I am now beginning to investigate and get print outs of my time with them.
These people are great harassers. If you are ONE day late, they will call you 15 times a day from 4 different numbers, they will call all of your references all day, they will call your work several times a day, and the most appalling of all "THEY WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE". Yes, they have come to my house on about 5-6 occasions. There are some days, I am not sure if I can ever repay the loan. Being single with 3 kids and having many surgeries to pay off, it seems like they will be a thorn in my side for a while. I am hoping by making this review someone will see what this company is doing to innocent people!! Yes, I did get money from them, yes I know that I have to pay it back with some interest, but the way they are doing their interest and taking advantage of people should be illegal. DO NOT WHATSOEVER GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!! You will regret it!!

I told her about arranging payments on my account and the total she gave me was over $3,500.00, which was a $1000.00 plus what my total loan originally was with the interest and everything else added in. Interest is tacked on every month making it nearly impossible to pay it off. Here is where the real problem came about. My husband just got laid off in February 2016 so we are living off my income at the moment which is barely keeping our bills paid.
I went and dropped the insurances on the loan a couple of months ago but it still looks like my balance has not went down. Well, up to February 2016 I was on time with my payments, it is now March 2016 I could only pay them 20 bucks in February and they are blowing my phone up. I got a phone call today from a girl that worked there, (I told her the situation we were in). She told me to call the manager tomorrow that there are 5 insurance policies showing up on my loan that can be dropped. I was so mad I had "supposedly" got all the insurance dropped off the loan to lower the balance. I have even asked the manager a couple of times if everything extra is on the loan I want to drop. He would tell me that there is nothing else to drop. Basically, lying to me.
All tower loan does is screw people over. They will not work with you on lowering your minimum payment. There is no point in me calling the manager to get those insurance policies taken off. All he will tell me is that there is none on the loan. We are struggling to live, and I know they will start with their threats of taking legal action. I just don't know what to do. I stress over this all the time! I recommend to never cash a check from them or use them for anything! They are rude and they don't care if you will eat the next day or keep your lights on as long as you pay them!

I have had a couple of loans with this company before without any real complaints. I received a check in the mail for $1400. I was in a tight so against my better judgement I cashed it. They started calling me 2-3 times a week to offer me $500 or whatever else I needed. I would tell them no thanks and then they would remind me that I had a payment coming up and they could take it over the phone if I wanted. I was making payments online thru their online service in which they charged $3-4 for the transaction. I was ok to pay that without having to deal with them.
After the first couple of weeks and 4-6 calls later, I was tired of them calling me with the same old story. I travel for work and try to only make/take business calls during the day. They would call me only during working hours and I reminded them that I was at work and didn't need to take personal calls. This had no effect on them and the calls continued. Working out of town, whenever I saw a local call then I would answer it because I thought it was legitimate. It always turned to be one of their loan hounds. I started blocking their calls on my phone and whenever I look at my call log, there are multiple calls from them. They act as if they are out of money and have to have yours back asap in order to stay in business. Due to their unprofessionalism I will never do business with them again and highly recommend that others use extreme caution when dealing with these pushy, rude people.

We've always paid Tower Loan, maybe late a couple of times because we were too busy dealing with my elderly mother's heart problems and our oldest son's heart problems. We're not hardly home at all because of this now. Rest assured whenever we were late, it was because we were busy and just forgot and when we realized, we immediately paid them IN FULL. This time we're a month and a half behind and we asked if we could pay in FULL again on Friday October 16 2015, and they downright refused payment. We even went as far as to say not only will we pay in full Friday but let's setup an auto pay every month so if we get caught up in our own family's medical necessities, they could get paid regardless. That wasn't good enough! They said if it wasn't paid by the Thursday Oct. 15 2015 then they would garnish our wages!
I don't know how we're going to be able to pay for my son and mother's medical expenses if they do that, much less take care of our mortgage, utilities, kids, etc. They're going to take 25% of every check! "You was suppose to mail it to me". She said, "We don't mail paperwork." So I paid my first bill, still no paperwork yet. So I have not paid them nothing since #1 2.500, and they sent me an letter in the mail saying I owe 5.070.00. That's over a dollar on a dollar. I am very disappointed to say that my experience at Tower Loan in Alexandria, La was absolutely the worst I have ever experience in my 27 years. I am the type of person that is very patience, and considerate of any business due to having working in customer services since I started in the work field. Not to mention, in the process of co-owning my own business with my husband. I went into Tower Loans to receive a loan just to keep my credit score in good health since I haven't purchased anything in a while, which was recommended. When I received my first bill approx month later in the mail I was confused because the totally balance was doubled in which the check was written. I went into Tower Loans, and took the exact amount back that the check was written (like prev stated, I really didn't need the money).
The lady said "your balance is more than that amount." It was $900+ IN A MONTHS TIME- BEFORE THE FIRST PAYMENT WAS EVER DUE! I asked her "was interest built daily?" She replied "no monthly." I stood there very confused by how you mailed me a statement that covered for 26 months term, and half of that extra amount was accumulated in just one month. Needless to say, I did not pay that extra $900 until I found someone that could explain this to me. The next day, I went back with my husband to talk to the manager. Come to find out, I had extra OPTIONAL insurances applied to this loan. All the manager kept saying was "you signed it, you didn't read what you were signing!" This just made me more upset. Yes, although she is very right, I take part on that I should have read in more details.
I "trusted" the lady that was assisting me with this small amount of loan. I kept asking the lady "Really, I need to sign all this for this small loan? I need to tell you all this info for a small loan? I never had to have all this before to get a loan." She replied: "Just our policy." I have bought a home, car, and building for our business, and never once felt railroad like I did with this experience. After being told there's nothing I can do but pay the amount, one of the workers finally told me that "OH well you can call two of these places and cancel them. They will prorate the amount to reduce the balance." I called both places. There was a lack of organization there with the Tower Loan employees. I will leave that out due to minimize this complaint, and move on to my reasoning of writing this complaint. The next day, I spoke with the regional supervisor, which was absolutely no help at all.
It appears she had already contacted the employees, because our conversation sounded pre-rehearsed as if she already knew what she was going to say. Did I receive customer service "with utmost integrity" as website states? No! All she continue to say is the same thing "You sign the paperwork, you don't read what you sign." Yes, I admit to my doings, but as a supervisor can I get an apology for feeling railroad due to me STEADILY asking why do I have to do all this? At this point, I would THINK the lady that was assisting me would have said "you don't have to get it, it's OPTIONAL." In my mind, I knew I was going to pay this little loan back before interest start to increasingly pile up. I'm thinking it is their policy to protect themselves (as the lady told me) for repayment of the loan. With all this been said, I would NEVER EVER (and I don't like to use the word never) use Tower Loans again.
I also am making it a point to talk to all my family, friends, and coworkers to do so as well. Like I told the supervisor, it's not even about the money anymore, it's about the customer service. I feel taken advantage of, and not to mention the workers basically having an "o well" attitude towards me. I hope no other customer have this run in with the Alexandria, La location. I also hope that the workers at this branch learn to tell their customers that those extra insurances are optional, they EXPLAIN what each are because you work there we don't so you already have an understand of each, and that they have a better customer service attitude during difficult/frustrating situations for both parties.

First off, shame on the furniture store that uses these guys for financing! Second, this place is setup to be a complete scam! When I was approved I had to call in no fewer than 4 times to get something from them in writing to acknowledge I was even a customer, during that time I received no fewer than 3 or 4 calls from them trying to get me to take personal loans out through them... Funny, you can't send someone any paperwork showing how much they owe, when it's owed, or that they are even customers, but you can try to dump more debt on them... After finally getting my information I decided to try to pay online, and what a nightmare that is as well! I've never seen a website that requires so many silly little things to login..
And OH YEAH, my biggest bone with this company, NO ALERTS or BILLS or anything to remind you when it's going to come due... I can't imagine WHY... Surely it CAN'T be because if you miss a payment you lose the promo APR and get smacked hard on the interest rate for the duration of your loan... Not only that, but to enroll in auto pay so you don't have to worry about it, they require you take time off work and come in just to show them a copy of a check... Something I have NEVER had to do with any other company, and I use auto-pay for everything... And to put the final insult on the situation, they charge a ridiculous "convenience" fee for paying online... Because somehow saving time and money and the expense of live people to process my payment isn't good enough for them, they hit you with a $4-5 charge for every online payment you make... What a crock!
Add all this up and this company is nothing more than a sham with a business plan set to take advantage of people who aren't well off enough to pay in full for a new bed or other furniture.. Imagine having a loan out for $1500-2000 for some furniture and missing 1 payment and now have an APR anywhere between almost 18% and 35%.. Most people who are on this type of loan would never get out from under the debt... Way to go guys, and we wonder what's wrong with our country! I'm so bitter over this that I'll be making large payments every month just to have them out of my life within a few months... I have no interest in doing business with a predatory lender!

I have been dealing with Tower Loan for at least the past three years. Never had a problem with them until my last go around with them. I accepted their prescreened loan, I fell delinquent for about two months, so my wife and I went into the nearest office to renegotiate the loan, well all was fine until we had all the paper work completed. Wife then discovers that they had slipped other services and fees that we had not asked for (example: some roadside assistance insurance for my vehicle, which by the way they didn't even know if I owned a vehicle or not)!!! There were other things they slipped in there that we then caught and brought to their attention. They then acted like it was no big deal, and like we knew they was going to add all off these other services that we hadn't asked for.
So they then rewrote the contract minus the add ons that they were trying to slam on us. Ok we get it all straight and of course we keep our payments on time. Jan. or Feb. of 2015, my wife had made the payment on time, then the following week decided to pay the loan off. Tower Loan then charges her an extra hundred dollars in interest. I called and spoke to a representative, at first she says it was for the insurance so I then tell her that we had not gotten the insurance, she then puts me on hold for about two minutes, gets back on the phone and claims it's the way the interest rate day falls. I then ask her in one week's time the interest rate was one hundred dollars, so then I tell her that I will contact my lawyer about the situation, she puts me on hold, then comes back and ask for my lawyer's name. We were responsible for some of the wedding costs, which we did not have at the time. My husband was laid off from work, so thinking this was a God Send, I cashed the check. The payments were around 145.00 a month. Let me tell you, if you are late on ONE payment, these people will phone harass your work, your contacts you put down for references.
I did get behind, so ** from Perryville, Mo. said I could come in and rewrite the note in order to lower my payments, and get caught back up. That's what I did. She hurriedly pushed me through the paperwork, proudly handed me a check for 120 some dollars. Said I didn't have to make a payment for 2 months. I thought, “thank goodness I got that payment lowered.” A couple days later, I looked over the paperwork… O.M.G they were charging me 59% interest rate!!! I quit making payments on it.
The harassing phone calls were outrageous, calling my work SEVERAL TIMES A DAY! My boss would tell them to quit calling the my work place. He DEMANDED they quit calling. They took no heed to this and continued to call. They would call my phone over and over and over. All my contacts I had down, they would call them over and over. ** showed up at my house one day. My son answered the door, said I wasn't at home. She handed him a piece of paper. The paper stated I what I owed and I needed to contact their office. I ignored it, threw it away. Said they weren't raping me like this.
So now, over a year later, I have been served by papers from a police officer. I now have to appear in court on March 24th at 10:30am. I called ** at Tower Loan in Perryville, Mo. I asked her if we could settle this out of court. I had 1,200.00 and I would come in that day to pay it and be done with it. She said she had to talk to her supervisor and would get back with me. I have made 10 payments of 145.00 on this loan. So I thought that was a fair offer. She called me back the next day, said her supervisor said I could come in and pay 1,200.00 and we can set up payment plan to pay the rest of the remaining balance.
So a 1,300.00 loan so far is now at 2,600.00. I said, “no, I want to settle for an amount, upped it to 1,500.00.” She said, “no,” her supervisor will NOT accept the offer. I have placed a call to my lawyer, just waiting for him to call me back. I am at loss and don't know what to do. I just want this OFF of my credit report! Horrible company, do not do business with them. First off they will trap you on a loan by adding all sorts of "extras" on to it without your permission or telling you about it. After finding out about it and trying to have it removed, the employee will pretend he doesn't know how to do it. You will be told to come back another day, and have to go through hell trying to change it. Everything will seem fine after that, until your loan is almost paid off. Then interesting things start to happen. First, they will try to talk you into another loan. If you don't, then get ready for sent payments to mysteriously go missing, repeatedly. I could write a book about this company, but I have better things to do with my time. My advice, from a real person whose has real loans (multiple) through this company, is to stay far away. There are many other loan agencies to choose from, all you have to do is read the reviews.

I recently contracted for a loan with Tower Loan. Due to some temporary financial setbacks, I had to recontract for an extension of the loan. The original report to the credit agencies was for $1440. Upon recontracting, the balance upon payoff increased to $2338. I paid off the balance of $1441 early. Tower Loan reported the loan amount to the credit bureaus as $2338 immediately after I paid off the loan without indicating that I had paid the balance plus accrued interest.
Now my credit report shows an unpaid balance of $2338 significantly impacting my credit rating. I suspect that this action was initiated after I submitted a complaint regarding the disreputable practices of the office in Missouri in which I contracted for the loan. I wish to submit a complaint as a consumer that was harassed, and negatively impacted by Tower Loan practices. They repeatedly had me come to the office while misrepresenting the terms of the loan, were unprofessional, and attempted to defraud me.

I went into the Pearl, MS branch to see about a small loan. When I started the process, the man asked if I had an account already. I said I did in Byram, where I lived. He said ok and preceded with the application. We finished the application and I had to sit and wait for about 15 minutes. Finally, he came back and told me he could not do the loan at that location because I lived in Byram. I told him I did not understand why that mattered. What they failed to let me explain was that I worked right down the road and my mom, who lived 15 minutes from that location as opposed to almost 40 minutes from my location, was going to be paying the loan. I asked him if he could at least tell me if I would qualify for the loan since I had been sitting there for almost an hour at that point. He left and came back, telling me no.
I asked him if I could talk to a manager because I just was not understanding why location mattered. She (Kayte) came over with an attitude right away. I asked her what the deal was because I would rather deal with this branch. She told me she didn't understand why she had to be called over nor why I couldn't understand something so simple as she wasn't going to approve it. I asked her again, COULD she approve it? She responded by telling me she could if she wanted to but she did not want to.
Completely unprofessional. Her excuse was it was taking away business from another branch. I responded by telling her I did not want to do business with that branch, which is my choice. So I asked her if she could tell me if I was even approved. She would not. They had already pulled my credit and had all my information but refused to tell me if I could even be approved or not before I went to another location. I then asked for the supervisor's number, which she refused to give me because his company cell phone "doubles" as his personal number. I then called the Byram branch and was told I would have to redo an application and credit report if I came in. Negative. Kayte in Pearl lost business for TWO branches because of her unprofessionalism. After reading all the complaints on this website I'm glad they were so much trouble and I wasn't pulled into that mess.

They called me three different times at work. Then when I finally answered the phone I was told that if I didn't have my payment in by the 15th of the month that they would file legal action against me. Today is the night we wouldn't be 30 days past due until the 15th. I'm pretty sure you have to be at least 90 days past due you before any legal action can be taken. I don't understand why they have to be so rude and continue to call me at work after I repeatedly asked you not to.
I wonder sometimes if they ever have any problems in their personal life. I agree to pay a hundred today but instead of saying OK and let me come in when I get paid again she told me that she was going to take legal action against me on 30 days. I said I really don't think that she wants to do that because I pay 120 today and no judge in their right mind would grant him anything after 30 days being late. She printed my first receipt then picked up the money, counted it then put it in the drawer and took out $36.00. Then she told me I didn't give her enough money to pay my second note. I explained to her that I had given her the right amount and showed her my ATM receipt and the $40 that I had remaining.
She insisted that I hadn't given her but $140.00 and she would have to wait till the end of the day to tally her cash drawer. I tried to explain to her that I was on my way out of town and needed this matter straightened out now. I was told no and when I refused to leave, I was told the police would be called on me. I wound up paying that note and two more by money order through the mail because I was out of town. When I returned, the employees were different as they are every month and nobody knew about anything. So, I paid that month's note and my balance was incorrect and they told me that I hadn't paid a note in March. I explained to them I had mailed it in by money order and they told me they would figure out what went wrong.
For three months I kept asking when they were going to correct my balance and every month I had to bring back all my receipts and sit down with someone different who knew nothing of my predicament. Finally I was told that they weren't responsible for the mistake and it was my problem to fix. I had to spend $15.00 plus postage and envelope plus my time online making copies of Instagram's form that I had to fill out plus making a copy of the money order receipt that I had to staple to their form. I received a card in the mail from my local Tower Loan in Slidell, LA, offering a small personal loan. Having very little credit history here (I am an English permanent resident), I decided to go along and check it out. The staff were so friendly and the process was so easy (no credit check, no proof of income required, no long forms to fill out etc) - I went ahead with a loan of a few hundred dollars. I had explained to them that I had no formal job or income because I basically operated my wife’s home internet business for her. They had no problem with that. They also told me that they report to the credit bureaus so that a loan with them would help me build a credit history. I was a little concerned at the time when, during the process they didn't enter any information onto a computer, the manager actually instructed the guy that was dealing with my loan to hand-write the details on the inside of a manilla folder - while I thought this strange, I didn't really know how things are done here so just figured it was normal and okay.
Anyway, the loan was completed and I got my check instantly, no problems. Every month after that I made my payments and each time I visited the office to make a payment, the staff would always ask me without fail if I wanted to borrow more money, which I politely declined. When the loan was almost paid off, I decided to take them up on their constant offer, thinking that it could only help to continue to build my credit history.
This time however, things were a little different. The details were entered into their computer system and they asked me for a list of physical items like computer, tv etc. I asked the guy why and he said "Oh we just have to put something in here, you can just make it up, it doesn't really matter". So I did, I just made up a list of a few things and laughed along with the guy as we bantered about the supposed value of the items.
When it came to the signing of the paperwork, I explained that I didn't have my glasses with me, which I need for reading and he said "Oh okay well it's exactly the same as the last loan except that the payments are a little lower". Unfortunately the alarm bells hadn't rung, I signed and he quickly folded the paperwork into an envelope and told me what the first repayment date was. I got my check for around 800 dollars and that was it. I made the first few payment and again the same thing, each time I went into the office they kept offering me more money, which I declined.
A couple of months after taking out the new loan, for some reason I took out the paperwork they had stuffed in the envelope and I noticed something quite alarming - they had added about 5 different insurance policies to the loan! None of the insurance policies were mentioned when I took the loan out, none of the policies were anything i wanted or needed and they all seemed completely self-serving to the loan company itself. They had also 'paid the policies upfront' so the entire amount had been added to my supposed loan - making a loan of about $800 somewhere closer to $3000.00!! When I looked through the paperwork, there were no actual policy documents related to these insurances and I hadn't received anything in the mail.
This prompted me to start searching the internet (which I certainly should have done before doing business with this extremely dodgy company) and I found hundreds of bad reviews and complaints against them. After doing some further research I learned that there is a very small window in which you can cancel the insurance policies that they had unscrupulously added to my loan and that time had passed so I was stuck with the useless policies. Having been blatantly lied to and hoodwinked by the staff member at the Pontchartrain Drive branch and after reading so many complaints against tower loan in general, I did not trust to have dealings with them in person or over the phone. I decided to stop making payments and wait for a letter from them so that I had communications in writing.
In the months that followed, I lost my cell phone but got reports from the several people on the contact list (tower loan asked for several phone numbers for people I know which they said they would use only to try and contact me if they couldn't reach me) - they constantly harassed my contacts list, divulging information to them about the fact that I was behind on my loan and that they would be filing suit etc - many details which I am sure violates data protection? To my surprise, not one single letter in months arrived in my mailbox from tower loan - most likely because they don't actually want any communications in writing to exist.
Instead, several months later, a woman knocked at my door saying her name was Erica and claiming to be a manager at the Pontchartrain branch. She demanded approximately $400 and when I said I don't have that on me right now, she said "Well I am closing your account at 12.00 (1 hour later) and you can either come to the office and pay by 12.00 or I'll see you in court", she also said "You either pay the $400 or I will take the items on your list of assets" - I said "Neither one of those things will be happening today but I am happy to discuss the situation and work out a resolution with you, I am just not happy with the insurances you added on to the loan without my knowledge and why have you not sent me a letter about any of this, I have never dealt with any company that doesn't communicate by mail," - she replied "I don't have to send you a letter" and was clearly not interested in discussing it any further as she got in her car and drove off.
About a month later, after no further communication other than the continued harassment of the people on my phone contact list - I was served documents at my home by the local marshal. Now this is the part that angers me the most out of everything, not only have they filed suit against me, but they have also filed suit against my wife! My wife has absolutely nothing to do with this personal loan whatsoever!!
Like I said earlier, I do not have an income myself and my wife and I cannot afford an attorney to help us deal with this issue. I have no problem with paying back the actual amount of the money I borrowed plus interest etc, BUT, I have a huge issue with paying for the bogus insurances that they lied about and added on which massively inflated the overall 'loan' amount. Insurances which I'm sure with the correct amount of digging would uncover that the actual insurance companies in question are most likely owned by tower loan themselves.
Despite the fact that they are suing us they have continued to harass the people in my phone contact list and the one and only letter they have sent me in all these months was just after my birthday offering to lend me more money!!! This is the most unprofessional, unscrupulous rude and harassing company I have ever dealt with. It is admittedly the worst mistake I ever made having any dealings with them at all. I do not trust them one single bit and so I am loathe to have any contact with them directly now.
The court case is due on August 18th. I feel that it is a ridiculous waste of a court’s time to deal with this. I would be happy to pay them the actual amount owed minus the bogus insurances - should I just contact the law offices that represent them in the case directly to try and resolve this before it gets to court?

A few months ago, I received a promotional check in the mail from them for 1206.20. I had received several checks like this from them in the past but I never cashed them. Unfortunately, this particular time, I was in a bind financially. I had lost my job very unexpectedly and unemployment is just a fraction of what my actual income had been. I had a decision to make between food, utilities, or my car. Receiving that check in the mail was a God send. I had been promised a position with my old company so I finally decided that it was ok to cash the check. Unfortunately, the job didn't pan out but the check was cashed. I have patiently explained my situation and proposed temporary solutions until I get back on my feet, such as paying below the minimum due. They were not receptive of that at all.
I have recently decided that I have to file bankruptcy because losing my job unexpectedly and with my other debts mounting and my car being repossessed-- I am out of options. Tower Loan clearly doesn't approve of this decision. They have been ruthless. They have called every single day, multiple times a day, from various numbers. They argue, ridicule me, and ask humiliating and accusatory questions. I hung up on one of them for being rude after I confirmed I am filing bankruptcy. The very next day, they called me 5 times in 3 minutes. Knowing my situation and how they spoke to me that made me have to hang up on them, I am totally baffled about what the goal (besides obvious harassment) of the calls when I had just spoken to them the day before and answered their questions. Money may be tight and if you receive a promotional check in the mail from them, it may be very tempting to cash it. However, I would certainly recommend going elsewhere. They are not kind or professional people.

Tower Loan is one of the worst loan companies and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. I would strongly advise anyone who was going to use them to reconsider. For a company that is in the business of collections, they sure make it difficult to make a payment. Since I had a loan with them their online payment feature does not work (which I told them numerous times and their response is we get that a lot) and even if it did, they charge a fee to pay online, they charge a fee if you pay by phone. So the only way to make a payment without getting charged is to go to the office, which if you don't have checks means you have to go during business hours.
If you pay by phone you have to pay the payment amount with one card, they won't let you use 2 different debit card or a debit card and check to make a payment. They will not give you your payout over the phone or even mail it to you. You have to go to the storefront to get it. So making a payment is an obstacle in itself. And if you think you are going to call the main office and complain, forget about it. I called and they told me they couldn't help me and after questioning them more, they took my number and said a supervisor would call me and to no surprise of course, no one called.
I have worked for loan companies and had loans at different companies. Other companies will work with you, not charge for payments, let you pay using 2 debit cards or a mix of debit card/check/cash. And at least with other companies you can speak to someone higher up and get help. At Tower Loan the office manager tells you there is nothing they can do because it's company policy. The main office tells you there is nothing they can do because they have no authority with the branch offices and the supervisors don't call you back. Use a different loan company if it is an option.

Recently, I had gotten into a financial bind due to my vehicle. So I accepted an offer from Tower Loan because I had no issue with them thus far on my furniture loan from FFO. Further I borrowed 500 dollars only because it is the minimum requirement. Note I never got any paperwork for which I had signed. I cashed the check and went back to the office in less than 30 minutes and made a 300-dollar payment. Upon receiving my payment print out, it stated the payoff would be 860 dollars. I asked the manager is this accurate and if so I would like to just cancel the whole transaction and give the the remaining 200 dollars since I already paid 300. He said yes.
So I asked him to provide me with documentation of the interest rate. He replied he threw it away. I told him how unprofessional and he began digging in the trash. He handed me waddled papers and made copies. Also he yelled at me stating he did care what I had to say and I was gonna pay it. So I called another store and told him that the 500 was all I had to pay. Then he told me I had to pay 82 dollars in addition to the 200 dollars remaining since I already paid the 300. Again I told him that can't be accurate since it hadn't even been an hour. He yelled at me, called me stupid and said, "I'll pay or else." So I paid $282.22 in a check and left. Tower Loan is a rip off. I borrowed $1,500 four years ago in which my payment was close to $200 a month. 2 years later, I was still making payments. You do the math. That's $4,800. I went in the hospital for 22 days and they worried me the whole time because I had a payment due during that time, so when I got home, I had to redo my loan so I could be caught back up. I believe I got a check from them for around $120 and skipped month from making payment so this caught me back up. Unfortunately my payment went from close to $200 to I think $316 a month and again 2 years later I am still paying them except my payment went up $100 and I'm still paying them to this day. So far the last 2 years, I have paid them $7,584 and they still say I owe around $4,000. That's $12,384 for borrowing $1,600. So far, they will wind up getting over $16,000. RIDICULOUS....

This company should be shut down!!! They shouldn't be allowed to be in business. My ex-husband and I have been with these horrific people for several years. We made the AWFUL mistake of cashing a promotion check that they were sending out to people in the community. They sent it to us for the amount of $1000.00. Being that I was in between jobs and were desperate for money, we cashed it. Seriously, the worst mistake ever in my entire life. They have been so unprofessional and they harass you nonstop. They even call your family or people that you put down for a reference. They are vicious and just plain nasty. They don't care about you. Not friendly whatsoever.
So, we finally pay the $1000.00 off. It was the best day ever!!! However, a year went by and we had a big emergency. Well, first time shame on them, second time shame on you. We took out another loan. This time it was a title loan for my car. Yes, I made the biggest mistake. I gave them my title to my vehicle, and they gave me not even $1200.00. Well, you would think that within 6 months to a year you would be able to pay it off. NOPE!!!!! Because they charge you literally an outrageous amount of interest. Somewhere around 36%. YES, I SAID 36%. Or it was in the ballpark of that.
So, here I am. Years later and they have threatened me every day almost, and the sad part is, I have paid them every month. It may not be exactly when they want it, but it's paid. Yes, I have stated a lot in this review of this business. Whoever reads this and is thinking of going to them for business, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE RECONSIDER!!! DON'T DO IT!!! THEY ARE LOAN SHARKS!! Seriously, the managers are disrespectful and not helpful. You end up paying triple what you borrowed in the first place. Don't make the mistake I did and go to these people. All you will have in the end, is regret. Thanks for allowing me to tell my story. I hope I can change someone's mind before it's too late.

Please do not ever, EVER, borrow money from this company! You will regret it if you do. They call and harass you at work or at home. It does not matter to them. They threaten taking you to Court and filing garnishments with your employer all the time. There is no relief from them. You would think as much harassment that they dish out, that they would make millions to retrieve late payments from their customers, but not with their salary. Not sure how they can live with themselves...sleep at night. Guess it just takes an ugly person on the inside to do what they consider is employment.
The employees, including the managers are very unprofessional and should not be allowed to harass the customers the way they do. I do not recommend ANYONE to borrow money from this company, not even in emergencies! I took out a loan for $500, and made payments on time until my husband lost his job and was out of work for 1 year. I could not keep the payments current. For 3 years now, I have been battling to pay off this loan, and each and every month for the past 2 years, it has been harassment every other day.
I despise this company and all the unprofessional workers that are working there. They are still threatening to take me back to court and I know, it will happen... Just hope I can win this one. There should be a way that the Courts could stop these companies....and if there is a lawsuit to file against them, you can bet, I will be filing a complaint...because this is wrong!!!

Dislike the fact they won't send out a statement showing your current balance, payments or any fees they have applied. Even though they say you can make a payment online - you can't. I feel all of this is designed to prohibit you from knowing exactly what you owe them or how your money is being used. The only way to obtain info on your loan is to call them.

I also have a loan there, & when my husband went in & made my payment, Tower Loan gave him my financial statement for the loan I had with them. Isn't it against the law for Tower Loan to give out my personal information on the loan I have with them? They never even asked my husband for an ID. He could have been anyone. The office in West Plains got a new manager and he automatically raised my payments to $88 to $125.00 because I missed two because of illness. I continued to send two money orders, one marked mattress payment the other loan payment. The new manager said they were all applied to loan payment and that the new loan payment was going to be $200.00. I have been paying on this for two years and still owe 885.00 on an $1100.00 loan that doesn't compute. Plus I never got receipts because I mailed the payments in since we are in different states. Okay, I recently received a check in the mail from Tower Loan. The letter said there was no need to call, sign, or visit the office, simply cash the check. Even though my husband was angry they were sending live checks on our name through the mail, we wanted to take a family vacation so we cashed it. A week later, we received a letter stating our first payment due date (30 day later) due on August 28th.
On August 15th, our home line (which we don't even have a phone for since we have 5 cell phones at our house we got home # just to get discount on cable bill :)), when we have an incoming call, it runs across our TV screen. I was at work and my son called me to tell me Tower Loan had called. Twenty minutes later, my husband called me and said they called his cell phone. He told them I was at work and work very long hours. He asked if he could help them. After they rudely told him no and demanded he told them how to get ahold of me, he hung up and called me. Shortly after that, my work phone rang, caller id said Tower Loan in Pekin, Illinois. My employee answered. They asked for me (I was with a client). They were put on hold but hang up before I could answer it.
Phone rings again, it's my son freaking out, said there was a car parked in front of our house honking their horn for the last 20 minutes or longer. Neighbors are all starting to come out. He goes out, asks lady (Ashley) if she was looking for his parents. She proceeds to say yes and gives him business card. How embarrassing! My husband called, said they called him again, and my line beeps. It's my mom...THEY CALLED HER.
Mind you, my 1st payment still isn't even due yet! Is this legal? I'm not even late! Now everyone I know knows I have this loan. My neighbor was gonna call the cops for disturbing the peace, etc. So I call for a corporate #. I'm livid! They tell me they can't give me a corporate number because it's not published...hmmmm...wonder why? Too many complaints? Finally, I get a contact # for a supervisor in Mississippi. She said it was all for my protection, saying they will continue to call everyone because they can...it's public access! Worst mistake I ever made cashing this check.

It is not unusual for Tower Loan to lose payments. I have recently had an encounter with them and tried to make Andrew in Bossier verify the payments I had made. He called me a dead beat and they filed suit against me. I sent him proof of the payments and he still said he was right. At court the judge would not hear the case because I had proof. The lawyer also saw the proof and was going to let me know when they had re-adjusted the account. 5 months later and still no response. I also had signed not to have the insurance and since the store manager was not in they gave me a copy of the proof of declining the insurance. It was just a slip of paper signed by my wife with the statement of decline. They are still telling me it is not proof enough because the associate didn't date it. Problem being it is for the full amount of the original insurance premium at time of loan which constitutes proof of when it was signed. If anyone is having similar problems we are working with the FTC and a class action lawyer. Please forward your information to the FTC.

I recently was turned down, in spite of a perfect credit report where NONE of my credit card payments are late, and in spite of my perfect payment rating with Tower Loan. I managed to secure financing from my bank so they did me a favor by refusing me! However, that did not bother me as much as when I received my credit report I come to find out that Tower Loan lists the SAME account several times making it appear that you have taken out all these consumer finance loans!!!!!!
They have three offices here and if you make the payment in one office, they report it to the credit bureau, then if you pay it in another branch, they report it to the credit bureau, then the third one does the same making it appear that you have taken out three loans when in fact it is the same account number and only one loan!!! I have called and asked them to fix this problem for me and they said they would take care of it, but they have not!! So anyone looking at my credit report sees this as and excessive amount of loans!!!! They are predator lenders at their worst!!!!!

A few months ago a check arrived in the mail from Tower Loan. I was out of work and we needed to pay some bills. Thinking I would have found a new job soon, I had my wife deposit the check (it was made out to her). 30 days later, we heard nothing from the company, so I called them. They said it was not in the system yet and asked for me to call back in a few days. I did and it was in the system. My wife gave Olivia permission to speak with me as I was not on the actual account. I then went to the online payment website to make a payment, and it was next to impossible - they ask for date of birth but if you enter it, it is rejected, they want the it entered as all zeroes, you have to put name in all CAPITALS too. I had to call Olivia back and have her assist me in making an online payment. The next month I also had to make an online payment.
So now we are in our 3rd month. The payment was due yesterday (but remember we have a 10-day grace period too). So this morning I miss a call from Jeremy at Tower Loan. He leaves a voice mail asking for my wife to call her. (My wife was at work so I was going to give her the message when she got off work). 20 minutes later I get a call from a friend stating that Jeremy had called him looking for my wife. 15 minutes later another friend called and said the same thing. Well now I am quite pissed as the loan is not even 24 hours late and hardcore collection efforts are put into place. So I call Jeremy at Tower Loan, and we get into it. He says my wife is more than 1 day late, that he can not talk to me as I am not listed as an authorized person, and that he will continue to call my wife's references if my wife does not call him. And yes, I will openly admit, I said a few things that were not right, like telling him he would never talk to my wife (I was pissed).
About an hour later, after I had cooled off, I called Tower Loan back and spoke to another rep. I think his name was Eric but do not quote me. I explained to Eric all that had transpired and he said yes, she is very late, and that my wife made a 1/2 payment one month and that her check bounced the next month. I said, “No, no, no. I have a print out from my bank and from the Tower Loan website.” He then asked for my wife's name again and sure enough, they were thinking my wife was a different client with the same last name. So he said he was sorry, and confirmed our account was in good standing, (actually my wife's account).
I asked him to call back all my references and let them know they made the mistake. He refused. So now, our friends were left with a bad impression of my wife and I, all because they can not even keep track of the right accounts! Once this loan is paid off, I will never deal with them again, have nothing good to say about Tower Loans and if asked if I would recommend them, I would have to say "NO! NO! NO!" Also, they asked for references after the loan was done. References should be contacted prior to a loan issue and then should never be re-contacted. Otherwise they should not be called reference. They should be called "Alternate Contacts" or something like that. If you want my personal opinion, you do not want to do business with this company.

In a time of extreme struggle, we received a cashable check with a loan agreement that actually suited our needs to move due to an eviction and lawsuit. The check was cashed for $2,000, and we had gotten settled into our new but small duplex. There were many times that they had called everyone we knew to see if we were coming in the next day to pay them. They even called people that we were friends with who were not on the list. They searched high and low for people we knew, which was extreme and ridiculous by far.
After almost two years of this, we finally saved enough to pay them off completely. However, the month before this was to happen, our payment was short and we figured that we were about to pay them the next month in whole anyhow. This time they sent two ladies to our little home asking me to sign papers and give them cash right then and there. They were begging like starving dogs. This really draws the line. They thought I was dumb enough to fork up cash on my front porch and then retrieve my receipt for it later at their office. I'm talking hundreds of dollars. I’m not dumb but they are.
When we went in to pay a whopping $2,700, after paying them monthly for at least a year and a half for the initial $2,000, they treated us like royal **. Here we are, giving them almost $3,000 in cash money, and they did not like that. I made them sign and print for us the paperwork that proves we are now debt free. The total nightmare isn't over, however. They called again claiming we were late on our payment. We told them we had just paid it off in full. These folks are ** with greedy **, every one of them. They are very inconsiderate, rude, lying thieves, and so full of ** with the biggest legal scam against the poor ever. The interest is astronomical, and they know when and how to get people - good, honest, hard working and poor folks that live on a fixed income.
Do not go to Tower Loan. A $500 loan will cost you your life and some. A $500 loan from them is over $1,000, no matter how fast you pay them. That was our second experience due to my local utilities lying, stealing hundreds from us and cutting us off; we had no other choice. Thank God that tomorrow I will have them paid off for the very last time. I will have to fork up $360 of free money for them after the $500 has already been paid, but it will be worth it. Every 2 to 3 months, it takes to pay them in whole is pretty much doubling what you initially borrowed. I call them the Devil’s Tower because that's what they are. Just stay away from them please!

Let me start by saying that when my husband and I met, he had been dealing with Tower Loan for years. We decided not to continue doing business with them due to their ridiculous interest rates on their loans, even for loyal customers. We paid them off thousands of dollars in full to satisfy our accounts with them. My husband's car put him down and we needed to get him another car as quickly as possible for him to be able to get to work. We had about $5,000 in savings for his car. So we decided to go ahead and get him a nicer car. We went to Tower Loan and borrowed the $2,800 to add with what we already had. Keep in mind, we were going to owe back a total of $4,300 for borrowing only $2,800. My husband went and got this check from them on Friday evening.
After giving it much thought, we decided that was just too much money to pay them back on the principal of only $2,800. Monday, three days after getting the check from Tower Loan, my husband took the money back to them. They then told him it would be a $317 fee for closing the loan after only 3 days. We spoke to several managers who were all very uneducated and unprofessional who all stood firm that we had to pay the fees. The disclosures stated that if the money was returned within 30 days that all fees would be reimbursed. They did not honor their disclosures.
These are a bunch of low life crappy money hungry pigs. They even offered me a sell-up (to get additional money). I told them there would be no sell ups and they would get their money at my convenience. I don't advise anyone to deal with these outside loan companies. Borrow directly from your bank. I will never do business with them again and will tell everyone I know about my experience with them. And boy, don't I know a ton of people. Remember, you will rather have a happy customer than a mad one because one mad customer tells 10 other potential customers.

He asked about how much we were filing on and I told him all together around $6000 or more. He asked me why; I told him that the pressure had gotten to my husband and he wanted to do that. I did not want to file, so that was when he told me if I could make a payment that he could loan us the $3000 so all we would have is one payment.
I went up there, paid a payment, did everything he said. We signed one paper, then he said to come back the next day, that he would have all the papers ready because that day was a holiday (last Monday). Then he said, "Your payments are still going to run around $285 a month." We said, "That is fine." He told us that we would have the money no later than the next day. We waited; he never called us. We called him and they would put us on hold and then hung up on us. Then they would say that he left for the day and they made several excuses so we couldn't talk to him and when we asked about the money, they said the man who had to approve it was sick.
Well, due to what Richard has put me through this past week, I've almost had a nervous breakdown. If you can try and borrow money from family, friends or co-workers, that would be your best bet. Reason being Tower Loan is not a place you want to do business. My husband and I each have a loan through them. He had his loan almost two years before he lost his job. He never missed a payment and he was out of work for about 8 months. They didn't care though I paid what I could afford to on his because his note was much higher than mine. I tried telling them that he was out of work and I was the only one paying bills at the time, along with taking care of three kids. He finally got him a job and when Tower Loan called, he told them he just started his job and they hold out a week so it will be two weeks before he gets paid. But as soon as he does, he's going to bring by some money. They asked how much he could bring and he said he was not sure, because he doesn't know how much his check will be.
So every day for two weeks, they called him at least 6 times a day while at work. He told them not to call him until after 5 because he worked from 7 to 5 pm. Well, when time came and he got paid, he only got $126 so he went in to pay them and they told him they couldn't accept that because he owed $320. That's what he was behind (his note is only $210 now) and he told them that's all he got paid. He even showed them his pay stub and they still refused payment. So another week went by and he came up with the rest of the money. He went in and yet again, they said he owed more than the amount they had said the week before. But the week prior, we made them write down the $320 and we showed them that and of course, they had to take the $320 after we showed them the paper. Well, he got behind again due to medical leave, but he ended up back at work on light duty and Tower Loan told him that he could resign his loan.
So during his lunch break, he was on the phone giving them all his info, so all he had to do after work is come in and sign. He asked them over the phone how much he owed. It was $2,500 and he said how much interest is going to be added. She told him not much at all. So he went after work and they hadn't even started his paperwork (and he got off at 5 and talked to them at 11 that day), so he had to sit and give all his info again and they came to him with his paperwork not telling him beforehand how much interest was going to be added on. They started going over the paperwork and it said $2,500 is what he owed but it had $3,000 interest added on. He said, "Hell no. Y'all said there wasn't going to be that much interest added." He told them he's not signing this. He was lied to. He was ill. So as he was walking out, the manager stopped him and said, "Well, since you didn't sign your loan, we need to know when and how much you can pay us." He said, "I can pay you Friday but I don't know how much until I get paid." Well, forever we have to deal with this.
On January 23rd, 2013, they called him and he had left his phone in his truck. So his mom pulled up and said, "Tower Loan called your granny and they have upset her. You need to call." And when he did, oh lord, the manager William told my husband, "Well, I think it's funny how when I call you, you don't answer but when I call your grandmother, you call me right back." They called her and told her that if she didn't get her grandson to call them back, they were coming to get his truck. So she got upset. She's 80. Really, Tower Loan. So of course, he and William went at it and he told William he would be in Friday, Jan. 25th to pay $100 to stop calling his grandmother. He's already told them this. He has been in the office and told them to replace her number with someone else and they claimed they took her off me. His wife is the first person on his list to call. If they can't get a hold of him and they don't ever call me, it's like they know what they are doing. So he told them the next time they call her after he took her off the list, he would sue them for harassment. William said, "Good for you," and hung up.
So I went in and paid the hundred he said he would pay and the other manager came up and said, "Do you have $5 more?" I said no. He told William $100. I said, "I don't know if you know about the phone call, but it was uncalled for for him to be talking to my husband like that." He said they heard the whole thing (which meant William had my husband on speaker phone through the whole thing talking about his loan in front of everyone). I said all I had was $116. I put $16 in gas. That's all we have until next Friday. He said William has $105 in the computer. I said of course he does but that's not what my husband said he would pay. The manager says, “We can’t accept this. It has to be the $105 and it needs to be paid by the time we close this afternoon.” So I said thanks and left. I called my husband and told him what they said.
So he went home, got our change jar that we put our pennies in and took $5 in pennies because that's all the money we have. He took it up there and the manager said, “We can’t take this change,” and my husband said, “Why not? It’s legal tendency just like bills you have accepted bills.” The manager said, “Are you trying to be funny?” My husband said, “No. We told you we didn't have any more money and this is what I had in my change jar.” The manager said, “You can take that across the road and get bills.” Then the manager told him that he’s not allowed back in his office and if he comes back, he will call the law. So my husband said, “Well, how the heck am I supposed to pay my bill?” He said by mail system by mail or send someone else. He went across the street and got bills for the change and sent my eight-year old son in to pay. It’s one thing to be hateful to an adult but to a child? I recorded!

This is the second time Bad Business ** Tower loan sued me when I had already paid. Their employees, Glen and Suizaane, told me to pay them off. They treated me like a dog. On the day of court, they dropped the suit. I had to miss work without pay. Later that same day, I continued to get phone calls from them. They told me they were going to sue me and they did. This time in court, they want to make an agreement with me. I paid a $130 all but $15 went to interest. No one has anything good to say about them. I've been a customer since 2008. In 2010, they called the police on me for wanting my money that my husband overpaid on my payoff back. A little kindness and understanding goes a long way. People sometimes have problems.

I am letting you know that if the Tower Loan Company rips you off, call or contact one of the agencies (BBB, State Attorney General and State Insurance Commission). They put insurance on your loan that costs almost as much as amount loaned. They harass you over 10 times a day if you are late and they commit fraud on a regular basis. If you have a problem, they are discourteous and rude. Also, tell all you know how bad they are.

Tower Loan is a rip off! Not only do they charge the absolute maximum interest on anything borrowed, be very careful, they stick you with additional insurance and a rental car agreement when you sign up. Don't ever be late, they'll try to repossess on what you've put up as collateral. Stay away from these people like the plague.

Tower Loan’s employees don't know how to talk to customers. They lie to you and charge you for things you don't agree to. They "never received" a payment from me supposedly, but that was the only time I paid with cash. They call all numbers on your application and inform them about your status on your account, which is illegal as no one should know anything about your account - that's for them to discuss with you and you only. When they speak to you, they are beyond rude and interrupt you when you’re trying to talk to them. They even went as far as threatening to come up to my work; therefore, when this loan is done with, I will never have another one with them. My loan that I have now stated it was interest-free for 12 months, but I'm being charged interest daily and they can't fix it, so they say. Therefore, I will tell everyone that if you’re thinking about taking out a loan, do not use Tower Loan!

Every loan you get, they tact on extra fees for the car - the car e-club that you don't want. I got a loan with them and got behind on it. I've been struggling. Tower Loan garnished my check, for about $700 a month on a $125 a month note. I'm not upset about my garnishment. It is my debt, I owed it. In the meantime, I've made over of about $250 and they won't refund it. Don't use this company, you will be sorry.

I borrowed $1,000.00 in December of 2011 with payments of $125.00. I tried to pay off today and was told that the payoff was $1,681.88. I have already made 7 payments of $125.00 and it will take until 2014 to pay in full for a total of $3,000.00.

They always add on more money to my bill. They tried to tell me I missed a bill so they could charge more money. They checked the pawnshop to see what I have pawned. How I came to know this is one of the workers told me to pawn my gun to pay the bill. And I said, "How do you know I have a gun?" She tried to tell me that I put it on my list for them to get if I don't pay my bill but like I told her, no it isn't. You went through the pawnshop without my consent. She said that they can do whatever they want whenever you owe them money. I just want to get this loan paid off and there won't be anymore.

It is a shame you can't rate this company with less than one star. They are so inept that it isn't funny. They leave messages that a one-year-old could do better. They whisper on the phone, leave threatening messages, and start calling all contacts if it goes 15 days late. Do not use these fools for anything.

My wife and I got a small loan from Tower. About four weeks later, we found it didn't cover auto repairs so went back in and added more. We were told it would be all combined and told what the payment would be. When I got the bill a few weeks later, it wasn't at all as quoted. I called the manager and he said he would get it corrected, just another lie from professionals. Instead of one note we now had 2, the original plus the new one. And if it is not paid on time, they start calling 10-15 times a day. Don't let it go past 7 days or they call the references and threatening them. What a lowlife company to deal with.

My wife and I went to Tower Loan, took out a loan of $2,500.00. My wife kept the loan for a week and then went and paid back in full the $2,500.00 minus the interest accrued by this time. And now, we have a letter in hand telling us we are to pay another $2,100.00 for the interest that the loan never accrued as we asked about a penalty of paying back early and there was not a problem. The manager explained there wasn't a penalty. Now, we are seeing there is a penalty or some kind of a big problem reading in to this letter and seeing we are being ripped off.
We also in investigating the credit report Tower Loan has ran our credit in a time frame that was after we had gotten the paperwork signed and had it in hand as well. This is an invasion of privacy and is a legal issue and misrepresentation as well as profiling and trying to steal legally, or being bullied to believe this kind of practice is okay! Well, it is not! This is harassment in the highest when a working class family is being sent letters of this magnitude and you are barely making a living. It's extremely horrific to say the least.

I received a prescreened credit offer from Tower - not even an application, but a check that when endorsed constitutes a loan agreement. We opted out (in writing) to the optoutprescreen.com several months ago. Tower Loan stated they could not do anything, that we would have to opt out to their office in Mississippi - and furnish our social security number - otherwise, if the information was not complete, they could not opt out for us. They said they had no way of knowing who opted out, as the offer came from the home office, P.O. Box 320093, Flowood, MS. They refused to furnish a phone number or person at that office to contact in regard to this. I am concerned about fraud, with my name on approved loans in the mail, and being demanded to provide a social security number to a company I obviously do not want to do business with! What good does it do to opt out with the credit reporting agencies, if lenders fail to honor that!

Tower Loan called. I talked to them and told them when I will make a payment. I made a payment on 4/19/2012 on furniture note. I told the lady I will make a payment on 4/22/2012 on the other note. She said she will note the account. On 4/21/2012, Tower called. I told them I had already told them I was coming tomorrow to make a payment. They called me 16 times in 10 minutes, from 6:03pm till 6:13pm. When this is paid, never again with Tower Loan.
