Had Evine home shopping card, and Evine was also ShopHQ and ShopNBC. Well ShopHQ/NBC has been charging me for past year and do has Evine all through Synchrony bank card, so Synchrony bank has been stealing my money every month for over a year. They send me to a foreign country and I can’t understand the people and they can’t understand me. We cannot get this resolved. They are trying to turn me into collections and still want me to pay a bunch of money. It is so ridiculous. If you have Synchrony bank through EVINE, ShopHQ, ShopNBC or even their PayPal card is through Synchrony bank watch your bill because they are overcharging and taking money that does not belong to them. They are crooks.

I pay my bill off every month... the problem is I don’t receive a bill in the mail and their online payment website is always throwing errors. It is 2019 and they don’t have a mobile app yet??? I call I complain they repeat my address and say next month I’ll get it in mail. They charge a 39.00 late fee because I have to call them to get my password reset or to make payment over the phone. When I talked to them today they told me the reason I can’t male payment online is because I’m using a mobile phone to do so and I need to do it from a pc... Seriously what if I only have an iPad or a mobile phone. Then she rudely told me she can't remove mat fee as that already happened a few months ago according to the notes when their website was down for 8 days.... ughh seriously I was so humiliated.

Then she proceeded to tell me I’m signed up to get my bill electronically for the last year.... But she can see in the notes that I have called re not receiving a bill every month for last 9 months she doesn’t understand why it says electronically and it says I am getting it via lost.... I have a credit score of 860 and I’m cancelling this card after 8 years and I’m canceling my Sam’s club membership. They have horrible customer service at Synchrony and I will not deal with them. Beware horrible horrible company.

Jumped through every hoop and provided a confession from perp that they did the fraud behind my back, still had to pay the 5 grand back. Now Lowe's, bought dryer on 12 months same as cash. Need to pay 25.08 a month to pay off in 12 months. Minimum payment due 25.00. Bought a 2.74 cent item on revolving part of card. I paid the 25.08 plus the 2.74 that month, now minimum payment due next month is 28.00. I argued that if I pay 28.00 a month, I won't be getting 12 months same as cash, foreign ** didn't care. Got a B&H Payboo card, which is through Synchrony. If you use your Payboo card with B&H, you get a credit for sales tax, which is why I want to go through that card. The limit was low, so I had to purchase equipment in phases. Made a purchase and paid the bill right away. The available credit didn't reflect the payment after two days so I chatted with a rep. She explained that they don't restore the available credit right away because they "want to make sure the payment clears". That's absurd to begin with because the payment was direct from my bank (and my credit score is around 750). I needed to add more equipment, and since the available credit was irrational low, I asked for a credit increase, which I got. Made the purchase, which was confirmed by B&H, only to find out later that day that my card was declined.

I chatted again with Synchrony, and they gave me multiple wrong answers (that didn't even correlate to my question) before telling me that the charge did, in fact, go through. No, it didn't, I said, so how can I resolve this? At that point they cyber-hung up on me and sent me back to the virtual assistant. Later in the day I tried to put one charge through Payboo (Synchrony) that used the remaining available credit, and a second charge through another card (B&H allows two cards or more for a purchase). Somehow that charge was declined, even though the available credit was there. Once again, I got on chat with Synchrony, and after a few canned answers, they cyber hung up on me again.

Their reps are HORRIBLE. They're the worst I've ever seen. If I call Citi or Chase or Amex, they bend over backwards to help me. These people just disconnect me. Sadly, I don't have much choice but to try again with them since I need (want) the tax credit. This is in no way a criticism of B&H. I love that company/store and I will do business with them forever. But I wish they could find a better partner than Synchrony.

I got Synchrony credit card when Toys R Us got closed and their credit cards automatically transferred to Synchrony. I thought let's give it a try. But I was wrong. Their online website have lots of loopholes, like server is down, even if you set up autopay, payment will not go through. Hence I decided to close this account by paying balance in full. After one month of closing of account I received email of pending balances and they charged me 28$ late fee for pending balance of 49$. When I call customer care about this, they accepted their fault that some transaction which were pending was not present online when I close my account. All other credit card put these transaction instantly or within few days. But this bank website is very bad. Please don't get credit card from this company.

Had a credit card from Walmart through this bank. Had the card for 9 and 1/2 years with flawless payment history. Attempted a purchase with it one day and learned that it had been cancelled by the bank 11 months prior. I called and was told that it was cancelled because of inactivity. They never sent me any notification (letter/email/SMS) that they were going to cancel it, nor any notification after they had cancelled it. I have A+ excellent credit and this negatively affects your score. They had my email, home address, phone number, and couldn't spend 2 minutes to notify me somehow? Their greed prevents their capability to be decent people and maintain common sense good business practices. None of my contact info has changed in 20 years, so it's very easy to contact me. They didn't even try. They know that it affects credit scores and that's why they're so sneaky about it.

I will practice abundant caution to ensure that this bank and Walmart never again get a single penny of my business and will encourage everyone I know to stay away from them. It's also noteworthy to inform you that Walmart's credit card is useless after the first 12 months. It has a decent rate for the first year and then it's 26.99% interest from then on. This goes for everyone too. I have great credit but the interest rate defaults to that for everyone. Walmart wonders why Amazon is taking all their customers? Amazon has better prices, a much larger inventory and treats their customers better. Amazon also offers free shipping on $25 or more. Walmart requires $35 or more. Stay far far away from this bank and Walmart!

I came to this site after searching for all credit cards own by Synchrony Bank. After discovering I had a several departments store cards that sold out to Synchrony Bank and since then I have had a awful experience and my credit score has dropped drastically due to Synchrony unfair practices of closing accounts after it’s been paid off and years of having credit in good standards and lowering credit limits to look like you are spending more and close to your credit limits. When you contact customer service they obviously do not have the the same system bec no one see what the prior rep did. And there are several different Synchrony numbers and not sure which to use. My credit has dropped since Synchrony got involved. And my experience is negative like most of the comments on here. I had, Toys R Us, TJ Maxx, Walmart, PayPal, Value City, Luxury Card in which fraud was involved with this card and Synchrony would not do nothing about it.

I paid it off and of course they closed the account after. But would not explain the identity theft. Also I’m not sure if Comenity Capital Bank perhaps maybe a subsidiary of Synchrony or not but my PayPal account was originally through Mill me Later Comenity Capital Bank and now it’s Synchrony. Be aware when apply for store cards or financial services if it’s through Synchrony. You will have bad credit and in debt with their late payment and high interest rate, drop credit limits and close out accounts practices to impact your credit score.

I had just moved my entire (substantial) savings account balance from another savings bank to Synchrony, except for a small residual amount of about $40. I had notified the losing bank of my intent to close the account and given its representative clear and specific instructions: 1. I would initiate the transfer of the residual balance in my account to Synchrony. 2. All the losing bank was to do is to deposit any remaining accrued interest to my checking account with a third-party institution. Having done that, I immediately initiated the transfer to my Synchrony Bank savings account of the residual balance in my account at the losing bank, as I had discussed with that bank's representative. Yet, contrary to my specific instructions, that representative deposited the entire balance in my account plus a few cents of accrued interest in my checking account with the third-party bank, reducing the balance in my savings account with the losing bank to zero.

On the following day, upon discovery of what had happened, I immediately called Synchrony Bank and explained that the losing bank had ignored my specific instructions and requested that the funds transfer request of some $40 to my Synchrony account, which I had initiated from that account, be canceled. The Synchrony Bank rep seemed baffled and stated that there was nothing he could do to cancel the request since it had already been initiated. Soon thereafter, I received an e-mail from Synchrony Bank notifying me that the funds transfer had failed and that "therefore" my ability to transfer money to and from the account had been suspended. I was furious and immediately called Synchrony Bank again and demanded to speak to a manager. When one finally did come online, I again explained what had happened. He said there was nothing he could do since the suspension was "system-generated."

I then gave him an ultimatum. Lift the suspension immediately, or lose my large account. He responded in a dismissive, haughty, "bring-it-on" manner. I fired off one more e-mail to Synchrony Bank repeating my ultimatum and waited until the end of the day. When nothing had happened, I initiated a funds transfer to another savings bank to begin the process of closing my Synchrony Bank savings account. The next day, I received an e-mail from Synchrony Bank that the suspension of my ability to transfer funds had been lifted. No explanation, no apology, just a "system-generated" e-mail.

Needless to say, my account with Synchrony Bank is now closed because I refuse to deal with an institution that allows robots to make automated decisions on customer-sensitive issues and fails to act promptly when those robot decisions are clearly irrational, unjustified, unfair, demeaning, and insulting to customers. That is the price Synchrony Bank paid in this case for being not customer-focused, but customer-insensitive and averse.

I didn't use it for over a month, but had some bigger purchases and would have earned the incentive and some nice reward points with it. Well, 10 days after missing a payment (on my statement balance of $0), they cut off my credit card without any notification whatsoever. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I went back through my statements to double check and found that indeed, they had charged me a late fee, cut off my credit, and began assaulting my phone with automated calls over a missed payment of $0 on a statement balance of $0.

To make things more fun, the customer service rep I called initially was a complete idiot and had no idea why the card was cut off but, I should have received notice... I will never use this bank again. Oh, and make sure to write to the billing inquiries dept listed on the back of the statement, since they state there that if you don't write them within 90 days they won't address it, and if you call them they don't actually have to do anything they tell you. I took a Care Credit account out several years ago to help pay for a large medical bill. The charges were put on deferred interest. What Synchrony or the companies you do business with never tell you is that if you have any non-deferred charges your payment goes to those first, NOT to the deferred interest charges. Plus, you cannot specify that the payments go to the deferred amount when you make an online payment. You have to call in EVERY SINGLE MONTH! The first time this happened to me I was going to be charged an extra $1500 in interest - then I would have been charged more than 20% interest on that interest. I had to borrow money from a friend to pay off the amount. Now I have to call in every month to make sure my payment goes towards the deferred amount.

They just took over PayPal Credit and now I have to call a second number to make those payments, when previously the payments automatically went to the promotional balance first. DO NOT get sucked in by Synchrony. They are the most disreputable credit company out there. They lie to you through omission. NONE of this information is on their websites. Beware when you get any new credit card because Synchrony is buying up cards from other companies and treating them the same way. I highly recommend NEVER, EVER dealing with Synchrony. I purchased a mattress in September 2018, from mattress store, I was offered 0% financing if I applied for a Synchrony Financial (bank) credit card. I have excellent credit, and the idea of not having to use the money I have in my savings account AND being able to do this at 0% interest (if paid in full in 3 years) was a smart purchasing strategy. First off, I didn’t receive the 1st months bill which was due in November (unsure why they skipped October), luckily I called 2 days before the 1st payment was due to inquire about not receiving a statement. Once I get connected to a customer service representative, I find out that I only have 2 days to make the payment. I decided to pay over the phone, only to find out that they wanted to charge me an additional fee for doing so. I complained and stated that I did not receive a statement so how could I pay the payment, since I didn’t have any of the billing/payment information?

After some dialog (and having to speak with a manager) they informed me that the bill was "returned to them" by the post office since they have the wrong address on file. I explained that I had presented to the salesman at Mattress Firm my ID which had my current address on it, after a long discussion they decided to waive the additional fee. Now, fast forward 9 months, I have made every payment (paying the payments 2 weeks early, PLUS paying more that the amount due) I get a phone call saying I am past due and they are reporting this to the credit bureau's. I called the customer service phone number and I get connected with an agent, I request to speak with a representative in the United States. After several minutes I was able to speak with Jolene in the United States.

I questioned Jolene about why I was receiving phone calls and messages saying "I was delinquent on my payment and I was going to be turned over to collections"? She said it was because I didn't make a July payment, and that I now owed an additional $28.00 late fee plus I was going to be charged interest from the date of the initial purchase (the interest rate is 29.99%). I have all my bank transactions available in front of me and I explain that not only did I make the July payment on June 16th but I also made the August payment on July 9th, and I have made the September payment on August 13th. All payments were over the minimum amount due and paid 2 weeks before they were due. Upon review, Jolene said that MY records were accurate and that she would be removing the $28.00 late fee. I asked how this could happen and she said it was an oversight on their part and she was sorry.

I still complained that this was wrong and asked why no-one reviewed this BEFORE it was sent to collections? She said she would file a complaint for me. Now, one day later I receive an email saying they are contacting the credit bureau's and it can take up to 60 days for the credit bureau to update my files, and correct this error. I am so disgusted with how this account has been handled since the beginning, and once I have paid this account off I will NEVER do business with Synchrony Financial or any of their subsidiaries EVER AGAIN!!

Synchrony's six-month-same-as-cash scheme is bad news. I had two such balances on the account. As I paid down the first, I incurred the second. As it turns out, with the second balance, I was not paying my initial balance off in time, so I got hit with interest charges and fees. The first promotional balance that expired no longer appeared on my monthly statements! The representative I spoke with confirmed this. Your expired promotional balances are basically hidden--although stealthily accruing interest all the while. I would avoid doing business with this outfit. Not worth the time trying to stay a step ahead of their schemes.

This is my second time using Care Credit. I used this under duress as I needed dental care and procedures due to a broken tooth and infection. I had no other choice but to suffer or agree to Synchrony's greedy and warped terms of service. This card is marketed specifically to people who can't afford a large medical bill as a way to help them pay for necessary health expenses. But, they charge an astronomical 26.99% interest rate after the promotion period. They provide just too short a promotional period to ensure that the balance cannot be paid off within it. Then they add the 27% interest rate on the entire charged amount. Thereby ballooning the balance and creating a debt that can never be repaid. This is the epitome of false advertising and predatory lending practices. SAVE YOURSELF - DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS CARD - IT IS A DEBT TRAP!!! I have been a RN for 15 years. I have good credit. As of the following Monday, Synchrony is the only bank that has not posted my payments. They should have been received by Synchrony no later than Friday. It's ridiculous. I also asked for payoff amounts, which I printed. One of them was supposed to be good thru August 4 (I mailed checks July 30). However, I received a letter on July 27 that was dated July 18 saying the payoff was only good thru July 28. What a joke. Thankfully I was proactive and made the minimum payment by the due date just in case, but this is a horrible way to conduct business. Synchrony should be ashamed.

I bought something from Amazon, a very large purchase ($5,500), and Amazon's finance arm for the merchandise was this bank. My payments were due on the 4th, I set up an electronic payment series from my CU on the 1st. Stynchrony (not a misspelling) charged me $38 late payments because they held the payments until the 5th. These were electronic payments; they take about 15 seconds to process. So, even if the 1st was a Friday and processing only occurred on business days, Monday would be the 4th and the payment would be on time.

I decided, why not just stiff Stynchrony for the balance of the late payments? So when the balance hit $532 (amount of late payments) I quit paying. A year later, a court settlement later I'm still out the $538 and my credit rating came down from 758 to 615. I'm now paying more vig (points) on purchases, all because this ** bank lit me up. Advice.. if you need credit to buy something open an account with the mob. Their vig is lower, and they won't hurt you as bad as Stynchrony will. Seriously .. STAY AWAY from doing business with these jerks.

Synchrony applies the payments we make to the previous month's statement instead of the payment date we made them for. Then they charge us a late fee. They are very difficult to deal with on the phone, secure messages, and chats. We are now taking this to the attorney general, BBB, and we are filing a dispute with the credit reporting agencies. I suggest that everyone that has a similar or illegal experience with this company do the same until this company goes out of business and the heads of this company either go to jail or are blackballed from being hired by any companies in the future.

I've always had a Sam's Club credit card (Discover and now MC) along with my business membership. Mostly because you couldn't use any other credit cards until the recent change to allow use any of the major cards in Sam's. When Sam's first switched to Mastercard (Synchrony Financial), things went smoothly until I noticed a late payment fee on about the 3rd statement. I called and explained that I mailed the payment 10 days in advance. They came back with a very rude reply that they can't be responsible for the postal service. And, that the payment is not credited when it is received by them, but when it is actually applied. I persisted and they agreed to remove the charge.

About 6 months passed and I noticed another late fee on my statement. So I called them again and they tried to tell me that because I didn't pay on time I would have to pay the fee. Only....their own statement showed that my payment had been applied 2 days before the due date! When I pointed that out, the CS agent said that it wasn't possible. However since I could show them the documentation, they had no choice but to remove it. Somewhat politely but still no apology.

From that point on, I started to pay in the club so that I could have the documentation of when the payment was applied. Fast forward to today when I got a call from Synchrony Financial, rudely demanding (not asking) to know when I was going to pay my statement. When I replied that I would pay it before the due date as always, the caller responded by stating that I missed my June payment and they wanted to make sure I wasn't going to miss July! What the heck? I had paid my June statement early by mail (Doh!) because I was going to be out of town and wouldn't be able to go by the Sam's Club before then. It showed as paid in my accounting software, and I also scan everything into a database as I pay it so I had the proof of when it was mailed. They say they never received it and so wouldn't remove the late fee. My bank statement also shows that check as un-cleared, so maybe they actually didn't receive it.

But I'm done. Lesson learned. Sam's will allow me to use my main business card (from Costco!) so I will just use that instead. Although I only have anecdotal evidence from myself and other family/friends, my guess is that Synchrony is making most of their profits by imposing late fees and interest (whether deserved or not). A quick internet search will bring up the long list of complaints. After all, the odds are with them since, unless you make a payment in person, through auto-pay, or by registered mail, you can't prove that they didn't receive the payment.

I only lose ($$) but my mom just got hit with a major late fee from Synchrony on a home improvement loan ($$$) for allegedly being 1-day late. She told me the payment was mailed 2 weeks early. So be careful if you have to do business with Synchrony. But, realistically there are so many companies wanting to lend money you don't need them. I wouldn't be surprised if a class action suit is filed in the future against them for these kind of practices. Of course the settlements in those actions are always so small it just serves as a wrist-slap to most of these large companies. Still, I feel better venting a little! ;-)

They offer many promotions like 6 months equal pay, deferred interest for 6 months, etc. I use them often. It has been working out very well. Until I used their 12 months equal pay promotion. I used it on a single purchase. But because the 3 items in the purchase at Amazon are from different sellers, each item showed as separate item in the account in the amounts of $196.90, $172.38, and $5.89. So I was expecting to be paying $16.41, $14.37, and $0.49 each month for 12 months. I have other deferred interest promotions on my account. I keep track of them all in a spreadsheet to know how much I need to pay them every month to avoid interests. The 12 months equal pay purchase was done in October 2018. So the items shows up in my November 2018 statement. That's all good and fine.

I made my payments according to my spreadsheet of what I needed to pay for the month of November as well as in December. In January of 2019, I noticed that one of my deferred interest item that was supposed to be paid off, wasn't. And they charged me the full interest amount for that item. I checked my statements and even went back to the November and December statements. Came to find out, they applied my payments to the 12 months equal pay items and paid them off in December 2018. I got on the phone with Synchrony and came to find out their system didn't handle it correctly and that I have to reallocate the payment with them to correct the situation.

Guess what, I have to call them every month since then to reallocate the payment as their system keeps paying off the 12 months equal pay first. I made the purchase in October of 2018. So the 12 months equal pay items should not be paid off until October 2019. it's not even 2019 yet, and they paid off those items. So I figured fine, I'll just keep calling in every month to reallocate the payments. On May 30th, 2019, I called them to reallocate the payments I made. The agent assured me that it'll be taken cared of. Come June 28th, 2019. I checked my account. And the reallocation I requested back in May 30th didn't apply. So another 3 items that had deferred interest expired on June 5th. They charged me full interest on those. So I called them to figure out what was wrong, why didn't the May 30th reallocation applied.

They told me that there's no more reallocation allowed on my account as I had used up the max reallocation allowed. What a BS! I told them, "that's not my problem if your system limitation can't resolve my issue." I'm doing everything your terms say and your system is not doing what your terms say. I have to call every month to correct your system's mistake. And now you're asking me that you can't fix it anymore and in order to refund the interest charge, I have to make an additional payment to cover the expired item that was supposedly be paid off. I need a lawyer. Don't do business with this institution. They are definitely fraudulent and will do anything to trap you.

It will cancel out your other payment and you will get charged ALL THE INTEREST AND FEES no matter what you do!! They prey on busy people who don't have time to login every damn month to check that their payments went through. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!

This company is the most illiterate company I have ever seen in my life. They are an awful company, I cannot even call them a bank because they are horrible at their job. This company punishes anyone who pays off their loan. My mom had a rewards card with this "company" and she paid it completely off. They decided to close her account and say that her loan balances was too high. How is the loan balance high when there is a no balance on it. They have illiterate workers there and it is very disgusting. I am extremely upset.

This bank only likes to take advantage of people who has debt and treat ones. This company should be out of business and taken to court for their lack of common sense and poor service. This is absolutely atrocious. I called the customer service and they gave the common BS runaround and sent me to an automated paid service. My voice will be heard. No one should ever have this experience. These greedy companies only want to suck you dry with debt. This bank needs to be sued.

NOTHING!!! The MAIN problem I have with this clueless bank is that they take money out of my account a few seconds to minutes after I use my card. That is "automatically done", and is as fast as cyberspace could be.

When I pay money into my credit card, it takes them "24 to 72 hours" to "process" the payment. The money is out of my bank account or PayPal balance immediately, but it takes them this long to "process" the payment. And, there's nobody in their stupid "system" who can change or override this! We have become a society of computer/system dependent morons. There is no human touch, no human connection, no human discretion. Just a whole lot of "this is what the computer/system tells us, so this is what we do!" The WORST thing that PayPal ever did is hook up with Synchrony Bank. For the love of all that is Holy, do not under any circumstances do anything with Synchrony Bank involved. If for any reason you do, I demand that you go through your own bank and file it as a fraudulent charge to get your money back. Those paper checks will never, ever arrive. That's how they make their money - fraudulent credit strangling, and refusing to reimburse you for money paid.

I took on the Amazon Store Card looking to make a purchase. I put down the deposit, and dutifully waited a day or two before doing a little "research" on the provider. When I learned of Synchrony's underhanded tactics, I quickly redecided and attempted to close the card on April 10th. My attempt was "successful", as Customer Service agreed and gave me the total run down on how I could never bank with them again, etc etc. They tell me the account is closed, I hang up, all is good. My check will arrive in 10-14 business days.

They didn't close the account. April 30th rolls around, I get a notice saying that the account is now open and the card is on my Amazon account. I quickly call - at work - to see what's going on. They tell me there's a note on my account that I wanted to close it, but they didn't close it. So they close it - again - and I get an email it's closed. 10 to 14 business days for my money back. That's an average of 20 days, mind you. This passed, and I was on the 40th day of waiting. I called again, very much frustrated, and spoke with a supervisor. "Oh! We have the wrong address on the account - it's *the exact address*!" I tell them that it's correct, they reaffirm it's not. They cancel the previous check, and issue a new one. How long will it take? "Oh, 10 to 14 business days."

Today, I called my bank. I calmly asked for the Fraud Department (Chase Bank, by the way), and I was soon talking with a wonderful man. He listened to my story, agreed that it's a fraudulent charge, revoked it - from nearly sixty days ago - and told me that my account would be credited the $500 and that all I'd have to do is sign a paper in the mail, and drop it off at my local bank. Thank God for Chase. They saved me.

I have had the card with Walmart for about 3 years and have never made a late payment. In fact I often paid it off in full. My limit was recently reduced from $300 to $100, right AFTER I paid it in full. I requested a $200 increase after the payment and the reason they give for reducing was my credit score. I have been dealing with identity theft issues ('cause of my credit plummet) and explained this to a supervisor and then to the customer manager —not sure who hired him— who states he is the top person I am able to speak with——.

I have honored my commitment with Walmart and Synchrony Bank and I am disgusted that they feel they should not honor me as a customer. Yeah $300 may not hurt Synchrony or $100 but even so I am a paying customer who has honored them and low amount or not they should honor their side. I was given an address to address my issue and asked that my account be frozen to afford me time to possibly get someone with integrity and customer service; so as to not accrue late fees—- he would not do it. I am like 2 weeks late on the payment but now I feel as though I don’t matter as a customer so I don’t feel as though I should be charged for returning the favor. I am appalled and vote negative stars for the lack of common customer service... And to rub it in further 5 stars to Kohl’s and Capital One. BEST CARD CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

I have had an experience with Synchrony which is apparently not an isolated one. As others have noted, they reduced my limit without any notice. They cited a high balance to available credit as reason for the reduced credit limit. I tried to explain that as I was paying it down, sometimes twice a month to get it down to the 30% debt to credit ratio, that reducing the limit was moving the goalposts and making it very hard to establish good credit on this card.

They also cited that they ran a report through TransUnion to determine credit worthiness. However there has been no credit inquiries on my report for at least a year now (I just received a letter from them citing that they recently did this). I told them that while I do get my credit report regularly, that TransUnion was not at fault and that Synchrony was not accurate in their reporting as there has been no credit inquiries for quite some time. At any rate, I do believe a class action lawsuit for predatory practices wouldn't be a bad thing. It seems obvious in reading the reviews here that this is standard practice and they are able to operate without accountability.

It appears to me that because I avoided any interest synchrony decided to “punish” me by closing my account. I am still waiting for a refund for the amount I overpaid. Never had a late payment, over paid my account balance, and paid off balance in full to avoid interest and my thanks was to have synchrony coldly close my account without my permission. The other card I have with them has a small amount on it and once again have never been late and pay more than is due. They dropped The credit limit on that card right after I received it. So I know it's only a matter of time before they close it so I need to pay it completely off. I have a number of young Synchrony accounts. Around 6, I have a young credit file, that is considered thin in history. However while most started with just small starting limits of around $200.00 to $400.00, over a 9 month period they have increased my limits from $200.00 on one card to $1k, another from $200.00 to $3k, another from $500.00 to $5k, another from $700.00 to $2k, one is still at $700.00, while the last one went from $400.00 to $800.00.

Only account that was a bit hinky I suppose was my $700.00 Mastercard, for some reason it was frozen after I made the first purchase of just $56.00 and paid it off within two days. It was locked from any purchases for about 4 months, then suddenly the block was removed and I was allowed to make purchases. I suppose it is a security thing, example they locked the open loop card, since I did carry higher balances on open looped cards that I also have. Maybe to watch my spending habits, and payment? Either way maybe they saw I was able to handle those accounts, and unlocked it so they could get some of the spending. However I am cautious on using that account too much.

Maybe will wait until I pay down the other major credit lines, and use that one specifically, mostly because I think it has the best rewards. At this moment I have no complaints in regards to Synchrony bank, nor their practices. I know if you pay before a billing statement posts, you're not making payment on time. As a matter of fact many creditors now limit how often you can make multiple payments. So paying early doesn't really do anything other than make you lose track of when your due date comes around.

If you make an early payment, you may as well assume you'll still be obligated to make the min payment after a billing statement. The only time paying early will help you is if you pay the entire balance in full, so as long as it's the grace period. If it's a balance remaining prior to the most recent billing statement, there will most likely be an extra balance owed via interest. Just because one pays the balance doesn't mean it isn't accruing interest payments prior to the statement period.

I think many posters don't understand the concept of how credit works, and more importantly of how interest is applied. If a statement posts, and one misses the due date and a late payment fee is assessed, and let's say min payment is $27.00, but being late there's a $25.00 late fee. And a payment is made, the first thing balanced is the late fee, so the first $25.00 of the $27.00 payment is applied to the late fee, leaving the actual min due of $27.00 reduced only by $2.00, thus often leaving a payment less than the min payment on the balance, that can accrue another late fee. In addition to the the remaining $25.00 due, so the second month making another payment will only apply the first $25.00 to the remaining balance, but still not making the min payment. Nor any other late payment fee.

Thing to understand here is the logic behind how payments are applied as it's based on the particular situation in that moment in time. Assuming something is speculation, understanding how something works is educational. After all the starting balances always are a given grace period, unless otherwise stated. Some of the comments on here are a bit confusing, seem's a lot of in between information is missing? While others I understand are by cause and effect of a debtor.

So I guess after each payment I was suppose to email them each month and tell them where to apply that payment. I didn't recall reading that anywhere on the website when I made my payments. Sounds like a way to get around to charge their 26.99% interest on people that are good customers and had a plan to pay the promotion balance on time.

Synchrony Bank took over 3 of my accounts. First thing I noticed was interest rates jumped from 19% to 29% and 26%. I had never missed any payments. I track my credit and have been working diligently to increase my credit score. However, once Synchrony got involved they immediately lowered the available credit to the balance owed thereby maxing out all of the cards. I paid the balance down as I didn’t want my credit usage to be high lowering my credit score. Synchrony Bank again lowered the available credit to the balance thereby maxing out the cards and harming my credit score. I was shocked that a company would deliberately harm its customers but it's Synchrony, they are predatory to put it mildly.

Synchrony recently took over my PayPal Credit account and as you can imagine things went good to bad. I closed the account and have been paying it off. However, I had a problem making a payment (never missed a payment btw) and in response to my request for assistance Synchrony Bank tacked on a $38 fee and doubled the minimum payment in an effort to punish me as stated by an agent. It's as if they are trying to push customers into default. I have now stopped paying anything to Synchrony and will end up paying a fraction of the debt when it goes to collection. Not sure what they are thinking but whoever is making the decisions to push, steal from and harm customers until they fight back is an idiot.

I'm not even sure how that is legal to charge interest over a period of time that wouldn't be used if paid off early. I understand wanting your money, and the interest, but it's good business to work with customers that want to pay things off early.

I was a victim of identity theft Oct 2018, PNC National Bank alerted me. I then checked all other credit cards and notified the credit union. I found out 1,400 ck was cashed, my DL was scanned, it's been a nightmare. My mortgage was auto deducted from the credit union. I received notifications that Nov and Dec mortgage was withdrawn from the credit union acct. The problem was since there was freeze on the account (that I knew nothing about) the transactions did not complete, the money did not cross to Home Point Financial.

Yes I did receive a notice from Home Point in Nov. I called them. The problem was they had the wrong name, wrong property address, when I asked if everything with mortgage was ok they said yes (they were rushing me off the phone because of their violation). All this was turned into Home Point Mortgage and the credit union.

During this time Citi Financial lowered my credit limit to the amount I owed them making it look like I maxed out the credit card. Synchrony Bank they screwed me in the worst way - I have a QVC, Walmart, JTV, all cards that were either at zero or had a few hundred dollars on them. (No more than 30% of the limit.) I have an excellent history with Synchrony, I've never been late, I've never gone over the limit.

Because they saw the late on my credit report they took my credit card limits down to whatever I owed. For example, my Walmart credit card had a credit limit of 3,000.00. I owed 650.00 and just made another 50.00 payment that wasn't even due. They lowered the credit amount to 640.00. Making it look like I maxed out this card further lowering my credit score. They did this with 4 other credit cards that Synchrony Bank backs. (Like QVC, JTV.)

They single handedly screwed up my credit. I hate them and I am reporting to the FTC. Where is the incentive for me to pay them now???? Don't do business with Synchrony. If I was ** male they would not have discriminated against me. The man from Synchrony thought I was a Spanish lady. What does that have to do with anything? They are also racist.

Whatever I purchase on Amazon, when the bill comes I pay my purchases in full, except for those purchases who have a promotional deferred interest and become due at a much later date, currently such one is November 27 of this year. In my February statement on the purchases/debits I had $173.82 in purchases and an unknown $11.64 interest charge. I called the bank and asked what this interest charge is about and they were quick to waive it.

Wanting to pay off in advance some promotional interest purchases that were becoming due in June and July I calculated if I pay $601.63 not only my payment due is covered but also I paid off a few aforementioned promotional interest purchases. The person I spoke with at Synchrony Bank verified that. To make sure I got it right he verified that a payment of $601.63 will cover the purchases plus also three other interest free promotional purchases coming due in June and July. My March statement showed my payment of $601.63 as well as the credit of $11.64 for the previously charged interest. New purchases were $402.35 but again there was an interest charge of $8.04! My next upcoming interest free promotional purchases due were November 27.

So I called Synchrony Bank again and was told that the purchases payment in full would have to be $445.87. When asked why does it say $402.35 on the statement and why does it have an interest charge again yet it does not mention nowhere any such charges as mentioned before, the answer was that I also have to pay the total minimum payment due IN ADDITION! (WTF?) The latter was $38.

It is my understanding, like with any other credit card, that the minimum payment is part of the total purchases I did. So as I pay in full every month there should be no interest. At least on any other credit card I have and use this is the case. The conversation got very quickly very testy and unfriendly. They did credit me the other $8.04 interest charge but were unable to answer my question why they would charge me interest when I pay every month in full! I figure that I'm not the only one but maybe one of the few actually reads the statements and I wonder how many millions of buyers are being screwed that way!

After I paid off the credit card and they were no longer accruing all the interest I had been paying for all those years. I went to Walmart to make a purchase that was just a little over $100.00 and my card was declined. I was so embarrassed, thankfully I had my debit card and was able to pay for my groceries and call the credit card company and that is how I found out they had lowered my credit limit from $1800 down to $100. I was extremely upset because the card was literally paid off only 3 days earlier and I received no notice.

Anyways moving on it is now over 4 years later and I received an email from the credit reporting agency asking if I had closed my account with Synchrony Bank. I had not so I immediately called them and they told me that they cancelled my account. WHAT?!?! Are you kidding me? I have had you guys for almost 10 years and you just cancel my card? I really wished I had researched this bank and seen all the negative reviews. Out over 200 reviews about 95% are bad or negative. I happened to visit a furniture store thinking I was getting a great deal, 2 years to pay off about $2700 with 0% APR. I pay every month, sometimes way more than my minimum payment in perfect timing to pay it off prior to the expiration of the promotion.

10 months prior to the expiration myself and my wife decided to purchase additional furniture which was under a new promotion. This one would be 60 months at 0% if paid in full and the amount this time was about $3400. Now here is where I get screwed over, I begin to pay for both accounts and they automatically apply the minimum payment to my first purchase and the remainder to the new purchase so my account can expire and they can go ahead and charge me the accrued interest which was 29.99% APR and turned my original $2700 at purchase into me having a balance of now almost $2000 after having being paid for almost 5 years.

So you are telling me I have only paid $700 over a 5 year period? I called and was told that I have to physically call every single month and TELL them to apply the minimum to my new purchase and the rest to my first purchase. They make billions each year I am sure and they don't have the technology to separate your accounts? Let me tell you my story about Synchrony Bank/Amazon. I made a 2nd (that month) payment on my Amazon Account from a small account I was closing out, so on the 27th, I decided to go in and verify that the payment made it before closing the account. The payment made it but there were two large made on the 26th purchases for speakers (just under $600) that I did not make, I had not received any email receipts or any other notification like I would, had I made an ordinary purchase. So after more than an hour of phone calls with an individual with very limited English skills, I believe that I had closed that account, had a new one opened, and disputed those fraudulent charges. Just the beginning.

I was suffering from a very strong flu so on the 30th I went into my bank account to verify an expected deposit, and there is a payment to Synchrony/Amazon in the amount of $870.90 made on the 28th. I did not make this payment, I would not have made this payment...I was disputing almost $600 in fraudulent charges, and I was violently sick for two days. Yet I was repeatedly bombarded by Synchrony personnel that they don’t have access to my account. Of course, my credit union wasn’t available over the weekend, so I have to wait until Monday to go over where this payment originated from, but I am pretty certain a “criminal” didn’t hack into my account and make a large payment on my Synchrony/Amazon account. So, I then decided to go into my Amazon.com online account which I have had for years...guess what...I cannot log in.

I cannot get password resets sent, so more phone calls. Ultimately they want me to provide a new email address, keeping in mind I have done nothing with this long-standing account. I have another email address but it was on an Amazon.com business account that I infrequently used. More phone calling, went through everything to close that account so that I can use that email address, and when I am all done, the rep says...”but you can’t use that email address for the other account...” I stop, have to go set up another email address through my internet provider, call back and set up the email for my long-term Amazon.com account. So, I get into my account and verify that I had NO recurring and standard payments set up, and I called them back about the $870.90 payment taken from my account.

Several transfers later I was told that (1) I need a written on Bank letterhead, explanation showing the transaction and the balance before and after it left my bank, which I then fax them, and I will have a determination after 30 days. I think I will just call my bank in the morning and report this is a fraudulent transaction, which it is. This process involved a ridiculous amount of hours and frustration when common sense tells you I would not have made this payment in the midst of fraudulent charges, but it also says that they do have access to your accounts. This has caused me undue hardship and was completely unnecessary if Synchrony employed competent CSRs.

I had the worst customer service experience of my life! After this experience, I will be letting every business I know and person to not associate with Synchrony! I've been waiting to receive a CareCredit card since 2/28/19. I was referred to open up a CareCredit account from my health care provider for a surgery I have coming up on 4/5/19. After not receiving it within 7-10 business days, I called 18998937864 today (3/27/19 @ 2:23 PM PST) to confirm why I hadn't received my card in the mail yet. I talked to Patt who said that I should have received the card by now so she was going to cancel my current account, open a new account and get a card rushed to me so I would get it in 3-5 days since my surgery is on 4/5/19 and need the card by then.

After she had already canceled my account, created a new account and issued a new card, she told me that they would no longer be able to rush it since this is a new account... I told her that it was a problem since I wouldn't receive the card in time for my surgery since it was sooner than 7-10 business days and I needed the card rushed. After she said that she couldn't do anything, I requested to be transferred to a supervisor thinking that they would be able to rush it after knowing the circumstances.

This is where the experience took a turn for the worst. I was transferred to Jamie (Employee ID **) who claimed to be a supervisor but based on her professionalism, I sincerely doubt. Her tone was extremely condescending, harsh and overall unhelpful. I explained the situation to her and she said that there wasn't any way to rush the card. Since she refused/couldn't help me rush the card, I asked her to verify that the new card was going to be sent to my correct address. She said that she couldn't verify any information like that but could only tell me that it was going to be sent to the address they had on file. I told her that I was concerned that the address that they had on file was incorrect since I got a letter from Synchrony saying that the address they had didn't match the one with the credit bureau and it was mailed to an old address.

Apparently I didn't explain it clear enough because then Jamie became fixated on the letter saying that if I had an issue with the letter, I should contact the credit bureau. I reiterated that the issue wasn't with the letter, it was that I was never going to receive the new card since the address that was on file was an old one and credit cards are not forwarded in the mail. Still, Jamie didn't understand my concern and restated what she already had about the letter. I then asked to change the address and she said that I couldn't change it until I activated the account. But I can't activate my account until I get my card which is getting sent to the new address...

I then requested again to verify the address that the new card was being sent to was the correct address and not the old one. She then reiterated again in an annoyed toned that they couldn't provide that information until the account was activated. After that, I decided to call back to get a different agent since Jamie was extremely rude, unprofessional and unhelpful.

I called back at 3:26 PM PST on 3/27/19 and was connected to Gale (Employee ID **). Gale was super helpful and pleasant to talk to. She told me that the address that they had on file and also the address that the new card was being sent to was the correct one and not the old one. I'm not sure why Gale was able to so easily provide this information to me yet Jamie, a supervisor, couldn't do this for me. After having such a terrible customer experience with Jamie though, I decided to cancel my account since I prefer not to work with and associate with companies that do not value good customer services and in extension, their customers. I'm not sure why an employee like Jamie is employed at Synchrony in a customer facing job, let alone a manager!

Like I said at the beginning, I've lost all respect for Synchrony because of how I was mistreated my Jamie (Employee ID **) and will never be associated with this company because of her. I'm not expecting a follow up or any sort of compensation. I just wanted to let somebody at Synchrony know that might actually care about how Jamie is treating customers and causing them to run for the hills.

TERRIBLE CARD. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. 29.99% INTEREST. I had an unexpected repair on one of my vehicles that came to over 2k. I had the Synchrony card for a few years and had been using it to finance a couple of large repairs. I had a balance on the account and didn't have the room to add the new repair. I decided to make a $2,000 payment the morning of 3/20/19 (when I brought my vehicle in for the repair). The funds had been cleared from my bank and accepted by Synchrony within 48hours or so. But they haven't released my available credit STILL. A week later and I still don't have access to those funds. Absurd. If I had known it was going to take that long I would have just paid out of pocket.

So I called and spoke to a representative Friday the 22nd. They told me it would clear in the next couple days but didn't give me much more info beyond that. I waited. Then today, the 27th, I called back. The Rep basically gave me the "That's the policy. There isn't anything I can do. Any payment over $500 takes 7-10 days to clear." I asked for an explanation as to why it would take 7-10 days. He couldn't give me one. I asked several times why and I got the run-around "that's just the way it is." He was getting frustrated with me so I said if he didn't feel comfortable explaining things to me anymore he was welcome to pass me up to his supervisor.

The next lady just repeated the same thing as the first rep. "That's the policy." "Any funds over $1000 take up to 10 days to clear. You won't have access to the credit until then." "There is nothing I can do". Meanwhile my money has been taken out of my personal account. I can see that the funds have been accepted by Synchrony. My remaining balance I owe on the card reflects the payment I made. Yet I still don't have access to any of the credit. I was left feeling like I just got told the, sort-of but not quite nice version of "That's just the way it is. Too bad. I can't do anything to help."

I'm incredibly frustrated. This is a huge inconvenience. Lucky for me I have a good relationship with my mechanic and he let me have my car back. But I still owe him the money for the repair. Synchrony said that the credit would be available by the 1st. So in reality we are talking 2 weeks! Do NOT GET THIS CARD UNLESS IT IS FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY. And even then I would caution you. Make sure you pay it off ASAP so you don't give these people ANY more of your money. I plan on closing the account as soon as humanly possible. I have NOTHING positive to say about this account.

Have no idea what they're doing. A lot of my can't even understand them because they don't speak English clear. Worst bank in the world to deal with. If you are one day late with any payment regardless of making extra payments they charge a fee toward your full balance while doubling or tripling your monthly payments. They make it impossible for you to rectify one late payment. At present I have s total balance on one card of 600.00 and they want a monthly payment of 200.00 which is like 1/3 the total balance but it is filled with interest and fees. I once again brought the account to a zero balance last month and conveniently this month my account is closed. Never apply for a store card without knowing who backs the card. I unknowingly held a Synchrony card for Old Navy, Amazon, and PayPal without knowing how miserable the experience would be. Customer service for the company is not housed in the United States, and you can barely understand the operators. They talk in circles to avoid answering any real questions. You can make your payments on time, but a random credit score review will result in a spontaneous credit line decrease out of nowhere. If you pay your balance off, you can count on having your account spontaneously closed. I don't understand how punishing their customers for having a score they find undesirable, even if the customer is paying on their account, even paying over the minimum payments, timely each month.

Bottom line, don't get sucked into credit, period, but if you really must, please save yourself the headache of dealing with Synchrony. You are less than a number. You are looked at as a BAD number, and they pull you in with an initial credit line, and then make you feel like trash. If I could give them a lower rating, I certainly would.

No. I called in to correct them of their mistake, and I was told that the amount was correct, and it wasn't just 29.99% of the balance. I had a Gap card for four years. All of my payments were on time, and often early. I hadn't been shopping much before or after Christmas, so in response to my not buying clothing from them every single month, Gap/Synchrony downgraded my account from Silver to Blue (boo hoo). A few weeks later, they closed my account!

What? I called Gap/Synchrony to find out what heck was up. I was told that in a "six month period" two of my payments were "rejected." Which is true and due to a pay schedule change and a bad decision to go with paperless billing which creates a problem with reminders. We all have a lot of bills, adding more reminders to my phone gets messy with work appointments and other obligations. Anyway, for both of these rejected payments, I noticed my mistake right away and immediately moved money around and remade the payments.

Out of 48 payments, I was never late and had two "rejected" payments. I called Gap/Synchrony to complain and the robot sounding service rep told me "I'm sorry you don't like our policies" :meep: "I will log a complaint on your behalf stating you are unhappy with our policies." :meep: Wow, that's one arrogant robot. I told the robot that her company did me a favor. I just got a HUGE raise and a Banana Republic is opening near me next month (another Gap/Old Navy/Asynchrony store). I told her that now I won't be spending my money at Banana Republic or at the Gap or at Old Navy, but instead at Lululemon, Urban Outfitters, Ann Taylor, LuLu's, and everywhere else, except a Synchrony Bank CC store.

I hate to say it, bc I used to like the Gap, but their clothes are are terrible now anyway. At one time, they were the king of casual cool, but now they're dull and unflattering. No amount of hip ad campaigns can change the boring designs. The place is usually empty. I might have hit Banana Republic, but now, nay. I have teenage daughters and neither of them ever want to shop at Gap, they call them "old lady" clothes. Then there's Banana Republic -- overpriced junk, and Old Navy -- underpriced junk.

I walked into Old Navy once when they 1st opened near me. I got an immediate headache from the plastic chemical smell. The place is a graveyard, totally empty. A behemoth selling smelly, cheap, mass produced, sweatshop stitched clothing. While Old Navy et al languishes, Victoria's Secret, Ann Taylor, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls are packed constantly. Synchrony closing my, (and many other people's) account was a bad move on their part. They lost a great customer that they will never get back again.

Apparently, if you don’t call and specifically tell them which promotion to allocate your payments towards, they will allocate it for you. If you miss 1 dollar, expect to be hit with a 30% interest rate!!

I have these guys for 3 cards. One with P.C. Richard and another with Newegg. Dealing with those have just been simple. Primarily because I don't acquire more than two purchases and everything gets paid off easily. Currently ending a 12 month and a 6 month promo. While starting a 36 month. Customer service usually tends to be from the U.S. So far no complaints with either. Don't plan to use them much.

The third is my Amazon store card. I'll try and cover every issue with them. Let's start with the allocation option. When I found out they had one I was excited. Because none of my other cards do. The best thing about it is nothing, They offer three options to choose from. No matter which you pick neither will be followed. I call to allocate payments every month. Because they have no option to do it yourself (THAT HAS TO BE DEVELOPED). It truly is an exercise in frustration. I'll ask to send $$ to different balances only to see everything done wrong 2 days later. I have to call 2-3 times a month for them to get it right. I usually separate all my payments for different balances. They say you can just pay in one lump sum but they don't seem to even know how to use a calculator. Made more difficult because they only allow you to make one payment a day. Unlike PayPal who let's you make several.

The one time I decide to not separate payments they to no surprise mess it up. Now it's passed the statement date. My balances are haywire and one is a serious error. They refuse to fix their mistake right away. It will take 2 BILLING CYCLES!! for them to correct themselves. They keep talking about re-allocation when there would be none if they did what I asked in the first place. This is how promo balances should look. 50, 0, 10, 20, 20, 400, 0, 160, 700, 40. See pic for how it looks right now. I just want to pay my debt in the way I planned with no hardship. I really have to temper my demeanor before I make the dreadful call now.

Customer Service. You'll get some rude agents who don't know how to listen. Incompetent ones who don't get basic math. Unknowledgeable ones who lack training. One told me I could self allocate on the site. Which then I asked her repeatedly to show me where. Of course she couldn't. Another who proceeded to tell me there is no non-promo balance. 6 and 12 month promos are great but 24 is a crap shoot. It might as well not even be listed. 5% back cut my payments down very little. It's something though. What's the point in having a payment methods section if there's only one method? Interest is beyond ridiculous. I do my best to avoid it.

Today’s Date February 2019. I opened a Walmart MasterCard through SYNCHRONY BANK in July 2017. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I have increased my use of it every month since then. My monthly bill has been between $1000, and $2000 for the past several months. It is paid IN FULL by electronic transfer before the due date EVERY SINGLE month. I have five other credit cards and do the same on each one. My credit score has exceeded 800 every month for many years with both Experian AND TransUnion. I check my scores monthly as a preventative measure. And so, the events that took place yesterday greatly concerned me.

At that time, at the recommendation of his regular vet, I took my very sick cat to a 24 hour emergency specialty vet for a diagnosis. They asked for ½ of the estimated charge up front. Reasonable, so I innocently gave them my Walmart Mastercard Credit Card issued and maintained by Synchrony Bank. You know the one I have had a perfect payment record on for 18 months now? Well, imagine my embarrassment when the lady behind the counter said “Sorry your card was declined”, no reason given. So now, four employees and the entire waiting room believe me to be a deadbeat. I was horrified. Not only am I dealing with my VERY sick kitty, but now I have to be publicly humiliated as well. As I said, I have five other cards, and so I used another without incident. Gee, THAT bank didn’t think it was fraud!!

This morning I logged into my Walmart MasterCard account and could find no reason for the decline, nor any mention of it. I do not have a past due balance and still have over $3000 credit at my disposal. So I called the contact number listed on my account on the Walmart MasterCard website and explained the problem to the rep who answered. She stated that the decline was due to a suspicious transaction.

Naturally, that is handled by another department and so I was transferred to another rep. He explained that their bank has a system that makes these determinations and he could fix it with my help. Unknown to me, when I am declined, I am supposed to hold up everyone in line and whip out my cell phone, look up their phone number on the back of my card, and call them, listen to their music on hold for untold minutes to confirm the validity of the transaction. I told the rep not to worry, I would NOT be using the card again. However, I made it abundantly clear that I did NOT want to cancel the card as that would affect my excellent credit score. I would however, be sure to use the card once a year just to keep it active. On that note, we ended the call.

A few minutes later, I logged on to my Walmart MasterCard account again, (I was logged out due to inactivity) only to find a message alert at the top of the page in a RED BOX, telling me my card is LOCKED and I have to call the listed number to unlock it. Does it never end? Even though I do not plan to use it again, I had to unlock it because I have several automatic electronic transfers that occur at various times every month to pay the electric bill, phone bill, medical insurance etc. I needed time to change all those to another card. Sticking it to me again.

So I called the number posted in red, and spoke with yet another rep who explained that the $600 transaction was flagged as fraud. She then walked me through the steps that I had to go through to unlock my account. Since I only had one phone number associated with my account, I had to hang up. She then sent a computerized call to me, with a digital passcode. I wrote the number down, and hung up. She then called me back, I read the passcode to her, and she used it to unlock my account. Have mercy!

So what was the “fraud”? She couldn’t tell me what specifically it was that locked it in the first place, just that “The System” said so. Doesn’t really matter, since I won’t use a credit card that punishes me with Random Acts of UN-kindness. Their reps were polite, but their policies SUCK! If you think this sounds like fun, knock yourself out, go ahead and get a Synchrony Walmart Credit Card. Me? I’m done!

I have a 0% interest account with Care Credit that is serviced by Synchrony Bank. I have a monthly minimum of $68. I paid $335 on 12/10/2018 and another $100 on 12/31/2018 that cleared my account on 1/2/2019. In February 2019, my billing statement arrived with a late fee charge of $28 and a past due notice. They had applied a double payment to December and not applied the 12/31 payment to the next billing cycle. I called to ask to have the $100 reversed for December, applied to January and late fee waived. They told me it wasn't possible because the billing cycle was over.

I work in the industry and you can CERTAINLY reverse and reapply funds in instances like this, where a payment was misapplied. After having to be escalated to a manager, complaining and taking time out of my day, the manager says "of course we can do that". Now if it is habitual we can't, but my situation was a one-off. Horrible customer service, UDAAP and Reg Z violations all over the place... from a compliance officer of a bank. Terrible customer service with rude behavior, tone and unwillingness to listen and solve the problem.

I paid my December bill on December 3, 2018. I started receiving harassing phone calls, some of which woke me up, from the company until I finally got a supervisor's supervisor to what I thought was to correct the problem. They said I paid my card too early, therefore my payment did not count. My reply was, "It sure did count in my checking account!" They said it was corrected. I went to pay my February’s bill and found late charges and a huge amount tacked on. This time I called and I got one of those overseas call centers where I had difficulty understanding the agent, and asked to speak to a supervisor, which she said, “Yes but it will take a while.”

I waited and she came back on the line and said, “Oh, I have removed the late charges but you still have to pay the incorrect amount as that was what was printed on the statement.” I have never heard of being forced to pay an incorrect amount on a bill, or that a payment was a day early and did not count. I told her that I will deal with this in the morning and she demanded that I pay the whole incorrect amount. I am thinking that Lowe's is doing business with a fraudulent bank as I have never dealt with such a bizarre unethical company as Synchrony bank. I am filing a report with the Attorney General's office today, and contacting Elizabeth Warren's Consumer Protection agency also. I will no longer purchase my supplies for my house at Lowe's ever again.

So in July of 2018, my girlfriend and I open a joint CareCredit card that we were approved for a credit line of $2,000 for our pets at the vet. We put roughly $500 on the card for medications they needed at the time and I've been making the minimum payments on time ever since. Now, if you pay attention to the account, you'll notice that they charge you interest every month as well as a "card security fee" which is about $5 for every $100 you put on the card, or in my case about $25/month. Add that to the interest fee and it comes very close to the $38/monthly payment I'm making and the balance goes down very slowly.

So I've been paying $100/month for the past couple months instead. Checked my credit score tonight on CreditKarma.com (I check it every week when it gets updated) and found out that my credit score dropped 50 points out of nowhere. What happened?? CareCredit lowered my credit limit from $2,000 to $500 so now not only do I have less credit I can use but my credit utilization went up. As soon as I finish paying off this card I'm never using it again.

I've had a Walmart Card for just over a year. I've paid early, MORE than the minimum payment required without issue...UNTIL...just before the New Year I went online to make my payment (4 days early). All seemed well, confirmation number, etc. as usual. January 11th, 2019 I get an email telling me that I didn't make my payment, blah, blah...WHAT? I promptly called the number only to discover this was 'collections!' It was evening, my bank was closed & there isn't a 24/7 Customer Service. Small town & I like my bank! :) I shared my confirmation number & the amount (well over the minimum payment required) but was harassed by the rep to make a payment immediately. I stated that I was concerned about potential hacking & couldn't make two payments when I had already made my payment. I promised once I investigated the issue with my bank I would promptly get back with them ASAP.

I kept my word, found that there was a conflict with my bank & their website after my bank upgraded their systems. I thought this could be quickly fixed. Encouraged, I contacted Synchrony Bank first thing in the morning. I had been slapped with a LATE FEE, RAISED MINIMUM REQUIRED PAYMENT & RUDE Customer Service in LESS than 24 hours even though I had in good faith PAID MY BILL on December 31st (payment being due on the 3rd of January)! I made the payment right with Synchrony Bank & explained the issue with the website & the bank system changes. I was NOT told that my credit limit had been drastically reduced as well.

My elderly mother got a flat tire. Thinking that I was alright now, I knew (or THOUGHT I knew) that I had more than enough good credit to help her. I got her tire replaced along with 2 new wiper blades (since bad weather was on the way) & proceeded to go to pay. My card was 'declined!' I was SHOCKED!!! I promptly called the card number & I was treated horribly. I re-explained the payment incident, reminded them that I've paid more than minimum, EARLY payments, etc. & the rep acted like I was some sort of deadbeat! I requested a supervisor who was much WORSE! I was able to check out using other funds but only after such humiliation & embarrassment!

After a rough day, I came home to further check on things only to discover that the credit drop by Synchrony Bank has lowered my credit score by 2 points! Is this what Synchrony Bank considers to be a type of "customer rewards" program for good, faithful customers?! (SARCASM for those who may need to be informed.) I will NEVER accept another credit offer without FIRST going online to check into the company (& YES, I read all the fine print, etc. but apparently Synchrony Bank has a different, more fine print in their playbook?). DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST, you'll thank yourself & all the reviewers online. :) CONSUMER BEWARE & BE INFORMED! I would also like to know WHY isn't there some regulatory institution looking into the corrupt practices of Synchrony Bank? There are certainly enough reviews/complaints to warrant it!

They make it very hard to talk to a real person & once you do there is a language barrier and they are very poorly trained. With 4 days until my 1st payment was due, I could still not login to make a payment. It took 3 different sessions of chat plus an hour-long phone call with 4 different reps (they kept transferring me). Should not take over 2 hours to set up auto pay. Do not get me started on how useless their "virtual assistant" is. I think they do this on purpose so you miss payments and they can charge late fees - why else make it sooo hard to pay your bill?

I had an account with them a few years back. I do admit I was late on payments, and I was reported to the credit agencies. I ended up paying off my account of a little over $700. All was good. I printed it off and showed it to one of my credit agencies to clear it, and it was. I didn't get around to the other agencies. However, I noticed it later on that it said it still hadn't been paid off. I decided to finally move forward to clear it. When I signed in, that account was gone. No record of it. So I call to get some printout or something showing that it was paid off, so I can get it cleared from my credit. They told me they have no record of me paying for it and that I still owed money. They said my account was closed and there was no online documents.

I asked the guy what to do. He said I had to hand write a letter, requesting information. I asked him to email me the mailing address because I was driving and couldn't pull over to write. He stated that it was against policy to send me an email and that they monitor this. I asked him to hook me up and just send me the mailing address from his personal; he still wouldn't. Whatever, I'll hang up and figure it out. Here's the best part. At the point of the phone call, it had been over a year since I paid it off and logged in to that specific account. I never once heard from them. But since I called and brought this to their attention, they began harassing me almost EVERY DAY, looking for payment. Synchrony is dirty. Like most big business, they don't care about the people. I warn everyone that I can to avoid them if possible. They're horrible and have really messed up my credit!

The CareCredit card is an unethical scam that preys on vulnerable people in need of assistance with their healthcare bills and ends up cheating them out of all the deferred interest they thought they were avoiding. If one is even one day late on the last payment, after paying in full on time for an entire year, the TOTAL DEFERRED INTEREST FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR becomes due. A warning about this does appear in the fine print on the statements, but Synchrony knows that most customers do not read the fine print, and would not expect such a draconian fee.

In addition, my final bill did not arrive in the mail in time to avoid this payment, a fact that I am very suspicious was intentional. This unfair, outrageous fee does not represent a severe hardship for me, but I worry about the lower income people who resort to this deceptive credit card to be able to afford needed healthcare. Synchrony Bank should be ashamed of itself, preying on the must vulnerable in society with these deceptive practices. They represent the worst of corporate greed and cynical disregard for the well-being of their customers. I hate this bank.

I decided to close this account realizing that I would never be able to pay it off, even when making more than the minimum payment. I called, got the payoff amount, negotiated paying only half of the outrageous interest and paid it in full. I confirmed with the agent that the account was closed. That was December 29th. On January 3rd, they let a charge go through on what was to be a closed account. It was for $45, I got a statement a few days later for $150. I went ballistic.

You let a charge go through on a closed account. It should have been rejected. I then called, refused to pay for their mistake and still paid them an additional $20. Then, they send me a bogus letter about an inquiry disputing the $45 that I supposedly requested. I did not. I told them in no uncertain terms that they were not getting another dime from me, I didn't request an inquiry for anything, and to never contact me about anything having to do with Synchrony bank again. They purposely did not close the account in an effort to get yet more money from me after I paid over $5000 and closed the account. They are scammers for sure. Don't fool with them. So I entered into a credit card promotion Amazon was running about a year ago and opted into this credit card. Upon approval I received a $600 spending limit. I used my first payment to finance a work out equipment for me and it was roughly $210. I opted to go for the 6 months no interest if paid in full. I was also right in the middle of moving to my current home when I did this and I updated all of my address information and made sure it was current. First month came and I completely forgot about making the timely payment and was only 10 days past due. I made the payment with a little extra.

Within 2 months they lowered my limit from $600 to $230 claiming they had to re run my credit after I was ten days past due and noticed my credit dropped around 10 points. (Mind you, I had just finished closing on my new house plus opted for this card... So yeah my credit wasn't going to just sit at the same level after having 2 hard credit checks.) They refused to raise the limit and claimed that I should take better care of my payments on time. Since then I have paid as agreed and used it going up and down. Here recently, last month in fact, I paid my balance down to around $30. And when I go on the website to check how the next payment will be I notice they lowered my balance again from $230 to $100.

What the Heck? No explanation, No email and nothing in the mail. Just a subtle lowering of my score and hard hit on my credit again. If this hadn't been for Amazon I would of canceled this card long ago. You can guarantee that once I pay this off I am canceling this card and will never do business with this shady corporation ever again and I strongly urge you to steer clear of them as well. The person calling was challenged with and correctly supplied my mother's maiden name, which is fairly easily found on the Internet. Synchrony then allowed this person to change my mother's maiden name, thus locking me out of my account! The person also changed my mailing address and charged about $8600 at an online music store. When I contacted Synchrony's fraud department, they wouldn't talk to me because I couldn't supply the "correct" maiden name of my mother. After three days, I was able to regain control of my account and change my mother's maiden name back.

They were unhelpful, dismissive and could care less whether you have excellent credit or not. I can't say what I'd like them to do with their card, but I will be happy to continue using Amazon without their card.

Be warned, they do NOT care about you and they will not make any effort to rectify a situation that is quite clearly, a technical glitch. I do not recommend this card at all. The next thing I know they send me a letter in the mail saying crap like, "We can sue you" etc. Then in Dec of last year Synchrony Bank sent my account to Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC. Based out of Norfolk VA. I've never heard anything great about them either. So I’m going to pay off the balance in full just to get them out of my hair once & for all. I know to keep track of it when I pay it off in full. Based on what I read here Synchrony Bank is bad news. I wished I would have known this before I ever got myself mixed up with this screwed up outfit. Oh well you live & learn.

Then I had a J.C. Penny cc. Well I’ve only used it once & paid it off in full. The next thing I know I get a letter in the mail saying, "We closed your J.C. Penny account." So I told them to take that card & shove it. Lowe’s the same way. I got tired of their (bs). As everyone knows they carry a high interest rate. My advice to all is to avoid Synchrony Bank altogether. I’ve paid off my Lowe’s cc in full. I’ll never ever ever deal Synchrony Bank again. They have ruined my credit & score. They should be brought up charges. The problems that Synchrony Bank has caused. I’ve had enough of their crap. They nothing more than a bunch money suckers.

I’m also going to forwarn everyone. I was in Fred Meyer Jewelers just looking. The manager asked me if I wanted a new cc with Fred Meyer. I said not this time. Luckily I didn’t. Come to find out their credit issuer is none other than Synchrony Bank. If I have to buy something there it’s either going to be cash or I use My Credit card issued by my credit union. Credit unions are far better than Synchrony Bank. My credit union issued cc has better & lower rates. Synchrony Bank won’t get anymore of my business. I’m done with them. Just beware if you shop at Fred Meyer Jewelers. Don’t get their in store card due to high interest rates. It will be like a prison sentence. The same goes for Sam's & Lowe’s & J.C. I am very displeased with this companies and the deferred interest policy on purchases with Amazon Store Card. What is not clearly understood is that if you do not pay the balance off during to promotional period, the interest is retroactive back to the original purchase date at 27.99%. So for those that make a large purchase and can't pay off the balance before the promotional period ends expect a huge jump in your Balance owed and it all interest. The real harm is the multiple ways they set up how your payments are applied during the promotional period. They offer options to pay non-deferred balance before deferred balance which is selectable but defaults to non-deferred balance. This almost guarantees that you will get charge the full retroactive interest rate if you do not select pay deferred balance interest first. I suggest you do not use this company unless you are paying all balance off before promotional balance expires.

My husband and I financed a Sleep Number bed with Synchrony Bank. A monthly payment was set up on auto pay. This bed was purchased in September 2018, mainly because my husband had some health issues. He was a Vietnam vet and a first responder to 9/11. The first auto pay went through as normal for the month of October 2018.

Unfortunately, my husband passed away due to the related issues from 9/11. He passed away November 6, 2018 and unbeknown to me somehow Synchrony Bank was made aware through his social security number and on November 16, 2018 they attempted to debit the entire amount of the 60 month finance in full, at once.

When I called the customer service line and said I was calling in regard to the Sleep Number finance agreement and my husband had passed away they transferred me to what they call the “deceased account department”. While on hold a recording comes on specifically stating, "Please know that your family will not be responsible for any balances due given your loss etc." That is because they go into your account and attempt to withdraw the entire amount without even knowing if your family has paid for the funeral!

After speaking with a representative there and explaining what took place they claimed to have “not known what happened”. It was on record that they attempted to withdraw the entire amount but didn’t know why? It is bad enough for me to have to deal with the loss of my husband but then to have such a despicable and unethical thing done to a family during their time of loss without not even one phone call to me and ask if there can be additional arrangements made for the financing or at least until wait the next payment was due to see if the account would have even gone into default in the first place (which it would not have).

I still don’t have answers after also being charged from my personal bank for this unauthorized debit attempt of over $8000.00 by the way, an insufficient fund fee just to add insult to my injury. The representative had no answer and I was told to call back in four to six weeks to see what that answer might be. I strongly recommend if you were to finance anything at all, NOT to use a company that has such dishonest and unconscionable business tactics such as Synchrony Bank.

We've been faithful customers for quite a few years now. Each month the minimum is paid on time the next month's minimum is reduced slightly. They offer special deals if one pays the account off during a specified time frame. However, the payments are at times not posted for days. This month it caused one payment to be a single day late (I had paid it days earlier), so they tacked on a late charge. When I called them on it I received a sing-song song and dance word for word of the policy, then got the contact to drop the late fee. However, since I never take advantage of the "deal," the contact told me that my minimum payment was now increased from $55 to $86 a month. When one is consistent on payments and does not add charges the payment is supposed to stay the same or decrease. To me this is a scam operation.

I just opened a Sam's Club card with Synchrony bank. I got the card in the mail, activated it and started making purchases. The card was suspended by fraud dept. I called and was told there was NO way my account could be authenticated. Not via email not via telephone text. They forced me to wait 10 days to get a code in the mail. The rep and manager that I asked for were RUDE and were in a foreign country and I couldn't understand them. Not helpful at all! Then I called back once I received my code to unrestrict my account and was told that this could happen again. This card is NOT DEPENDABLE and their security process needs improvement. May cancel my card after reading all these negative reviews!

Escalated to manager who required that I erase all cookies on my computer so that their program could work - which I declined to do. Went in and erased all Synchrony cookies and was able to get in. Now I seem to have to do that every time I need to make a payment. They have made their problem become my problem and life is too short for that. I'm paying this off and getting outta here!

This is a corrupt credit card company and need to be shut down. They reduce credit limits even though pay on time and hurt credit scores. They are a complete scam and not sure why they are not investigated especially with poor customer service tactics and non-English speaking jerks.

He has to pay every month $150 interest on $300 payment. Once he had almost $2000 interest, and once $900 interest. Great SPECIAL OFFERS!!! Wander how far they go?

I have an Amazon, Belk and Old Navy Card with this bank and... I’ve ALWAYS paid on time and more than minimum requirement. This bank has lowered 2 of my accounts balances with NO reason! Plus... They do a credit check time to time and it’s showing on my credit! Seriously...is this legal? I’ve never had a credit card company do business this way. I’ve had credit for years now and they’ve caused my credit score to drop 50+ points! There has to be something that can be done. This seems fraudulent to me. Where are the rights of the people who are being taken by this shady company.

I read complaint after complaint and, Synchrony Bank's BBB account is full of complaints, such as...mine and, others on here. Not to mention, I call to ask questions and get someone who I can barely understand their language. I’m at a loss as to why this is ok? This is wrong and, I believe it should have a higher authority look into this. I call FRAUD on this company!

Just like other consumers I paid off my Rooms To Go card and Walmart cc; a month later Synchrony closes the account. First they lowered the credit limit then closed the accounts. This company is ran by scam artists. They try and punish consumers for wanting to keep their debt down and paying their bills on time. They don't give any warnings just a letter stating that after a review you are no longer creditworthy. And this is after they have been paid on time and early! Definitely a rip off. I don't see how the FTC allows them to handle so many department store accounts with these practices. I will not apply for any accounts that are linked to Synchrony!

Without my permission, they signed me up for Card Security which has been costing me about $40/mo. Either the representative who signed me up gets the commission on this, or they do it, just hoping you never notice. This is a disgusting practice of ripping off their own customers. This is fraud.

I'm closing my account because this card is a FRAUD. I was charged some fees without purchasing any product or service on this card. I called multiple times to get help to get the undue charges removed from my account, but didn't get any. I was always referred to Amazon Prime though I didn't subscribe to Amazon Prime. Amazon being an awesome company, tried to help and got me part of the money back, but I still had to pay $17.06 out of my pocket eventually. So, I decided to close this account now that I've cleared the balance before I become a victim of your FRAUD again. Trust me, AFFLICTION SHALL NOT RISE A SECOND TIME.

Customer Service Is Horrible. They are incredibly rude and give misinformation. One person told me I could call to reschedule my due date, and then another told me I couldn't do that. They all seemed to have different information about my postdated payment. I told them I had a postdated payment because I had to pay for my father's funeral and the lady just kept saying "You still have to pay the late fee." I didn't ask about the late fee, was well aware of the late fee, and don't appreciate their uncoordinated and somehow still robotic approach to customer service when I have never made a late payment in my five years with them. Ridiculous.

We were having Kitchen remodeling with Rochester Flooring Kitchen & Bath which had us pay $4,200 down and apply with Synchrony for 0% interest for 26 months. As soon as we were approved almost a month before any work even started Synchrony wired them $25,000 upfront. They started work on 8/27/18 and quit on 9/14/18 after only working part time for three weeks. At that point no cabinets were installed. We submitted documentation, photos, and receipts clearly showing that Rochester Flooring Kitchen & Bath did not do anywhere near $29,200 worth of work and even after they said Rochester Flooring Kitchen & Bath said we owed $27,000 including a countertop and sink which we explained a countertop cannot be cut or delivered until a template is done and all base cabinets have to be in place.

They credited us $20.97 AND charged a late fee the same day they closed the dispute even though we were not required to pay during the dispute. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General. This company refused to let me speak to a supervisor or request documentation from Rochester Flooring Kitchen & Bath as we are supposed to wait for a letter from them.

I received a Synchrony Car Care credit card through Meineke Car Care Center. The interest rate was high but, it was an emergency to get our car fixed. Each month I received a late fee. I paid it before the due date. I was told since I paid it early the payment would go to the prior month, not the month in which it was paid for. Then I was told to pay it after the 8th of the month and it would be applied to that month. I got another late fee because it was after the due date. When paid on the posted date I got a late fee because it came on a weekend or holiday. I finally began to see a pattern. Synchrony makes money on late fees. I have not had a problem with any other bank or credit card with late fees.

Horrible bank! Applied for this card in December to purchase a water heater. I was approved, later I purchased a dishwasher. They increased my credit limit without me asking, I found out when I received my statement. We received a notice from Credit Karma that an account was closed on my husband's report. He did not apply for this card, I added him as a user on my account. When I called to let them know a mistake was made, because my account was nowhere near the limit and it was in good standing, paid up to date.

I was informed they had recently checked my credit again and since my score had dropped, they canceled my account! So not only did they cause my score to drop but my husband's as well! I asked how they could do that to people, I was told that’s how credit works! Imagine if your mortgage account was handled this way! I will never recommend anyone getting any credit card handled by Synchrony Bank!!! They should not be canceling accounts that are in good standing!

I could have easily paid the balance but had no idea that the interest charge existed. I asked to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for 30 minutes before speaking to a rude account manager who constantly interrupted and talked over me. I ordered three sweaters online from TJMAX. I used my TJC rewards card. When I went to check out, a note came up saying could not process payment at this time. I kept trying. The same note kept coming up for six days and during those days I tried several times a day. I had $1300 credit left on my card. The order was for $65. I called customer service several times as well and they tried putting in my order too. They got the same response. I called Synchrony Bank and got the automated system. It said I had zero credit left! I waited to talk to a representative. Apparently they charged my card every time I tried calling to place my order! On top of that the order still did not go through!!!

I am livid! They did tell me the charges would be taken off except for the last one so I could still get the sweaters. I got a call Friday morning from customer service telling me my order finally went through. I checked online and damn it said no current orders! So I called customer service again and sure enough she didn't see any order! This is beyond absurd because all the charges are still on my card and no merchandise!!! I believe Synchrony Bank is shady if not totally fraudulent! If this is not fixed I am getting a lawyer. I need to find out who to contact as far as their business practices and what they are doing to people is even legal.

My cards are Belks, Empire Carpet, Capital One, Walmart and maybe Kohl’s. I have other credit cards as well and have always paid more than the minimum before the due date. I’m a Macy’s platinum card holder, Belks premier rewards card holder. Both cards had high spending limits in upwards of $5000. In July of this year, we had a tornado touch down in our community damaging our home. We were in a hotel and I was away from my planner and bills, due dates and amounts. Not to mention the stress of our situation. I was late on my bills but explained my situation and was able to pay the late fee but have it taken off my balance! In August I ended up in the hospital with an eternal intestinal bleed.

So again, my bills were late. This time I received no relief despite my situation even though I volunteered to fax them hospital papers. About 2 weeks later I received letters from Belks, Macy’s, Kohl’s and Capital One and Chase that all my credit limits had been lowered!!! Severely at that. My $7500 Macy’s limit is now $1800 and my $5000 Belks is $800!!!

All because of some Synchrony Bank review and my previous consecutive late payments. And that I have too many credit cards versus my income!!! My credit cards altogether don’t even add up to $8000 and our total income is $95,000! What the... I've closed all my accounts and set up all on auto pay so nothing is late again!!! I’m not dealing with Synchrony Bank ever again!

This company is very rude and very unprofessional. I sent a payment over $2300.00 to this company in error. It was suppose to go to pay off Conn's Home Plus. Synchrony has an account with Conn's credit card. I don't have an account with Synchrony with this department. The customer care reps are very rude and for some reason, they can't find my payment, because I don't have an account with Conn's through Synchrony. I have proof where they cashed and endorsed my check, but for some reason, can't account for it. I have been fighting to get this issue resolved for over 2 months now with no help or assistance from Synchrony Financial. In the meantime, I have to continue to pay for the Conn's account I do have until this issue is resolved. They are a bunch of thieves!

I recently found out that I did not cash in my rewards check that I supposedly received in February. So of course if you don't use it before the 180 days they will not reissue you a new check which of course is the money you earned back from all your spending you did and will keep your money. I am disappointed in these practices that they can just keep your money. I can just imagine how many other people they have scammed this way. I have been calling them to make payments over the phone the last few months and no one had mentioned to me that I did not cash in my reward check or that it was going to expire. At this point I will not be using that credit card and stick with my Visa! Credit card people beware before you sign up with Synchrony Bank, issuer of the Sam's Club Corporate Account.

Purchased a new Mattress from a store that offered interest-free payments for two years. Monthly payments were to be $287.00/Month. Have paid $500.00/Month (1st payment) in April, May, June, July and in August made two payments of $500.00 each... because we were going on vacation and were going to be out of the country for 3 weeks... my October statement contained a $27.00 LATE CHARGE. Called customer service and spoke to someone who called himself Alex. Convinced him that, if anything, I was ahead on my payments, he agreed to remove the charge.

Three days later, received another "recorded message" telling me I was LATE. Called them back and spoke to someone who called himself Sean, convinced him that if anything I was ahead on payments, asked to speak to a supervisor (he wouldn't let me speak to one), but agreed that I was ahead on my contract payments, and agreed to eliminate the $27.00 LATE CHARGE. Three days later I received another call telling me that I was LATE on my payments. The customer service and intelligence level as well as truthfulness of this institution convinced me to NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING from a store that uses Synchrony Bank credit. I would rather DO WITHOUT, that ever get involved with this 'band of bozos'!!!

Recently after Babies R Us closed Synchrony converted my card to a regular Master Card with a limit of 3,300. After having around 400 dollars put on the card I paid it off within a couple of months. Right after doing so they closed out my account with no notice. I have never missed a payment on any credit card and the card was not unused for a long period of time, when I called their customer service to dispute this they told me they didn't have the information why it was closed and I should receive a letter soon. To be honest one of the worst experiences ever and unfortunately I have a few more cards through them.
