After years as a personal finance writer, Jana turned to editing for sites from DollarSprout to Investopedia and The Balance. She founded the ConsumerAffairs personal finance team in 2022, which has grown to a team of five. She has edited several personal finance books including Budgeting for Dummies (Wiley, 2023). Jana spends her free time with her nose in a book, accompanied by one of her many rescue pets, or watching her daughter cheer. She has a BA in criminal justice and an MA in urban affairs and public policy from the University of Delaware and spent a decade working in social services before becoming a journalist.
