I have been suffering since 2012 my account was with Chase. JPMorgan sold the account to account after short sale the property and after many years reporting to my credit I owe them. This bank representatives are overseas and to get the documents gets lost and when I talk to someone, they escalated the call from one department to another. I did a 3 way call Ocwen, Chase and myself, Chase verified they did the SHORT SALE, gave Ocwen all the details, and they haven't done anything.
This is a big problem when they have move overseas to safe money since is cheaper to pay their employees, but, we suffer for not being able to contact direct to representatives in USA to solve problems sooner. Many faces got lost and takes them over a week to received if they get it, but, by their own representatives said, is 50/50 to get the documents CUSTOMERS send. I will be looking for a Legal Advice to resolve this problem, since is costing me to use my Credit... Think a million times before you choose Ocwen.

Richard, we sincerely apologize for your experience with Ocwen. Your account is currently being researched; however, it has also been assigned to our Ombudsman team and they will be in contact with you to discuss this in further detail.

I posted two complaints on the BBB website about this horrible company. They posted a comment back asking me to call their ombudsman. I called the ombudsman and she had no idea why I was calling. There was nothing in my file about this complaint, the previous BBB complaint or all the complaints I made to various supervisors. She kept putting me on hold to look things up because obviously nothing was written down. This is the customer service you get with OCWEN. And when I told her, her company should identify themselves first before asking a homeowner to do so, she said that's the way it works.
So, you get a call from something that sounds like a call center from a foreign country and they won't say who they are until you tell them first. Which people obviously don't want to do because you are not supposed to identify yourself to someone who may be running a scam. Run from this company if your mortgage company sells your mortgage to them (that's how I got unlucky) and if you are just searching for a new company, do not choose OCWEN.

Steven, we sincerely apologize for your frustration, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. I do see that our Ombudsman team is in the process of reviewing your case, but please let us know if you need additional assistance.

During the housing crisis my mortgage was taken over by Ocwen when the previous mortgage company went under. That same housing crisis hit us hard in Florida. I am a painter, tied to construction, work was practically nonexistent and having family with kids, the finances were a constant juggling act. We got behind in the mortgage, times were very hard. Finally work stabilized, the economy was picking up and we were back on our feet. During that time Ocwen worked with me on a loan modification. It was a lot of paperwork and jumping through hoops and waiting for a decision. The whole process took 6-8 months in all but it was well worth it.
I had heard and read some not so good things about dealing with Ocwen and was a bit apprehensive, but I had to be optimistic so I started the paperwork. Now it wasn't easy and the paperwork is meticulous. I kept having to supply updated pay stubs and such during the review, it was stressful to say the least. However Ocwen was always on top of things and did what they said they would do. I got my mortgage back on track and my family still lives in the only home our kids have known, that's priceless. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience dealing with Ocwen.

Thank you, Bruce, for taking the time to share your positive experience with Ocwen! We are here to help our customers, and we're glad we were able to assist you with a modification.

After my Dad passed, we inherited a number of real estate holdings. We formed an LLC and placed all of the properties into it. As soon as OCWEN found out about my father's death, they changed the name on the mortgage to "Estate of..." We tried for several months, to get the name on the mortgage changed to the name of our LLC, but Ocwen kept insisting that we could not change the name on the Mortgage without my deceased father's signature.
Of all of the accounts, mortgages, etc. that my dad had, OCWEN was to only one that demanded a signature from a dead man. The only thing that OCWEN was willing to do, was to keep accepting our payments. There is no way that I will ever do business with OCWEN in the future. No way in... And then on top of that, they keep sending me emails, even though I have "Unsubscribed" several times.

Donald, we value your feedback and we sincerely apologize for your experience with Ocwen. We appreciate the chance to resolve any issues that our customers may have. I reached out to Ocwen and they cleared it up for me -- yet, I'm not sure the other company was willing to accept Ocwen explanation; so, I mailed them a complete copy off the HAMP Approval and Subordinate Note that extended and Amended the original Deed/Title. After this experience, which I spent $495 for an appraisal; I would recommend anyone who was approved for a Modification Loan to check their Deed and Title to ensure it is clean and clear because apparently many companies do not want to hold more than the second lien in any property when applying for an equity loan.

Four months in a row we paid additional principal - clearly marked on the payment stub. EVERY time we would get a statement showing that the funds were not applied to principal. A MONTH after the mortgage was paid off I called again, they now tell me 25 days after the mortgage is paid off they will issue a check. What a bunch of liars!!! I can guarantee you if I held my mortgage payment for a month and a half the shoe would not fit on the other foot. I would never consider dealing with this company again, never!!! Keep messing up amount due - Per our agreement dated 3/22/18 we were due to make an extra payment of ~$2800 which was due to an error by the bank in applying our original modification payment. We made that extra payment of $2800 in March along with the normal March 1 payment of $2800. We followed up with $1400 late in March for April and another $1400 in the beginning of April for April. At the point we should only owe for May 1 in the amount of ~$2800. Per Kathy, $1400 was misapplied to principal and needs to be fixed. Please confirm the above and correct the statement sent on 4/10/18 which shows amount due of $5,262.46. Again, the correct balance for due for May. Should be ~$2800.

Once again, we are having difficulty with Ocwen Loan Servicing. In May, 2016, they paid the escrow property insurance they had collected to the wrong company for the wrong property. We suspended payments until this problem could be rectified. It took until November, 2016 to resolve this. This was reported to the credit bureaus so our creditworthiness was adversely affected due to their mistake. Trying to resolve this additional problem was also a monumental ordeal.
Currently, we qualify to have the FHA MIP insurance requirement removed from our monthly payment liability. Federal statutes in force for mortgages prior to 2013 specify reaching 5 years or longer with the current mortgage and attaining an LTV of 78% to remove this requirement, which applies to our situation. This is also becoming yet another monumental ordeal for something that should be an automatic process. It is, therefore, my highest recommendation to AVOID this mortgage company at any cost.

Robert, we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns regarding your mortgage insurance. Your account has been assigned to our Ombudsman team to review and they will be in contact with you to discuss further. Thank you.

I have a manufactured home on a permanent basement. The home will never be moved again. There is a process called title elimination so the original title the manufacturer used to haul it down the road can be eliminated and the home can be upgraded to real property. It's something most banks want done to enhance the value of the property. To contact Ocwen, I had to talk to several people in another country who had no idea what I was talking about. All they would give me was a fax number in the United States. A normal brick and mortar bank would understand this process and have it done quickly. Not Ocwen.
After multiple attempts and leaving a bad review, a representative from the United States called me to get the problem resolved. She is also impossible to get ahold of and ultimately my request was denied because Ocwen don't understand the process or it's been sent to the wrong people to make the decision. I have my house on the market and the buyer's bank can't pay off my home until Ocwen signs the papers. That is normal practice in the industry. I feel like I'm talking to someone from Mars when trying to explain what needs to be done. My request was denied because of ignorance to the manufactured housing loan process by Ocwen. We are about to lose the sale of this house and I will have to file lawsuit all because this is not a bank where I can talk to someone who understands this process.

Thank you to anyone who has read my letter and thank you to Matthew at Ocwen. I have to say, As unappreciated and kicked to the curb as I had felt last week, Matthew at Ocwen made it all good in the end. He made me feel as though all those years, actually decades of scratching to make on time payments even when in several cases none of my tenants paid their rents I still managed to somehow pay the mortgage's. Matthew made me feel as though all the time and effort did matter. And my clean payment record with them, was completely taken into consideration. I thank you Ocwen for hiring good people like Matthew , Warren ** a happy Ocwen Customer!
Original Review: April 2, 2018
I have had 3 mortgages with Ocwen, I've paid back 2 in full, with an excellent payment history. In my case Ocwen ignored the FTC rules that state any payment made at midnight or before (even 11:59 p.m. on the 31st of any given month) is an on-time payment. A year ago Ocwen gave me a 30 days late payment score for paying after their cut off which by the way was only known to them. The cut off time that they made was 9:00 pm. When I presented them with the law, they reconsidered their position and removed my late payment.
Once again cash flow was tough after the holidays this January. I was not able to make the January of 2018 payment until the 31, I made it well before 9:00 pm understanding the challenge with them here. So now they tried a new trick, they say I made my payment at 1:20 am 1 hour and 20 minutes after midnight on the 1st!, when I called them on this they scolded me about last year and did not even know the facts or even care.
And this was the office of The Consumer Ombudsman. Which is supposed to help consumers. The woman supposed helping me had no idea, she insisted I called at 9:00 am, then she reread my complaint and oh yes it was 1:20 am, well the answer is still the same! Did not read my request for help, they could care less and flat out lied about the timing of my payment. And for the record the payment cleared my account in the same 2 days on the 2nd as normal not the 3rd. If I did really pay on the 1st, as they stated not the 31 I've paid the near One million dollars in on time payments with only a couple of exceptions, nearly unbelievable considering years of tenants paying late and on and on... but to them I am nothing.

Warren, Ocwen takes all feedback very seriously, and we apologize for your experience. Your information has been sent to our Ombudsman team to further review your account and they will contact you to discuss. Thank you.

A reputable company realtor and myself in contact with them through the whole process. Called the ombudsman. Got nowhere. Received a letter stating they were not aware of buyback as they sent my realtor approval simultaneously, then told it was in their legal department. Continued to call then sent a letter of denial for not making the deadline! All the while calling and getting the runaround!! Truly upsetting.

Well today 3/24/18 I leave OCWEN handle my escrow (going to change). Today I get my mortgage bill in the mail & again like the last few months it has gone up & I did not know why. Well today I went over everything & come to find out instead of my escrow going down like it should have because my insurance was costing me over $1200 a year & I found another company that gave me more coverage for only $765.00 year & I got my taxes lowered also. Well today I find out that I now have no homeowners insurance because apparently OCWEN canceled it & signed me up for their homeowners insurance but get this, their insurance ONLY covers the house structural & nothing else so says the guy I talked with & yes I got pissed & told him off & then he said, "I will switch you to a manager because this is not right." & so he switched me to her (Holly **).
Well she contradicted most everything the guy said & said to give her to Monday to get things worked out. Well I was pissed & I said, "Tell me what happens if a match is set to the house? I lose everything & you all are covered & it's been this way for 2 months without anyone notifying me of this." And said, "HOW by law are you all allowed to do this?" She said, "Sorry & give me till Monday to get it worked out." & I said ok. WELL I get off the phone with her & about a half hour later the sheriff shows up at my door & said I told them I was going to burn my house down & I told the deputy, "Yea right. If I do that I would lose everything that I own," & explained everything & he agreed & left. REAL NICE OCWEN! TRY AGAIN! It seems like this company is doing EVERYTHING to make me lose my home & I never missed a payment.
I called them (OCWEN) almost 2 years ago about doing a home hope program because my home is only worth $65000 thousand & I owe $128 thousand (Had a appraisal done) & sent them all paperwork & all 4 times they kept saying they did not receive it or could not find certain pages or I sent in the wrong items that they wanted but I sent exactly what they wanted & never nothing would happen so I gave up. I am telling you this, the reason this company wants us to lose our home is because they have insurance & it covers them if I walk away & on top of it they can then sell it & make more $ so it's a win win for this company. Well I am going to start filing any complaints that I can & ANY place I can about this company because OCWEN YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET AWAY WITH IT!

I originally had a loan with another mortgage company who sold it and resold it until Ocwen got it. I was in the process of refinancing when the market fell apart at which time Ocwen wanted nothing to do with a refinance and cut the process off just prior to setting up the final appointments. Due to financial issues I was unable to get caught up on the ARM and did a loan modification. It was still difficult and I ended up in Ch 13 but again did another loan finance in 2017. After 3 months of on-time payments I received a letter saying the modification was no longer valid because I didn't submit it timely. I followed the directions that said it could be sent in or "the first payment made on time" would be sufficient.
There was another clause somewhere saying to sign. However the very front in the modification was clearly stating a payment would be a form of acceptance - which I made timely. Even my attorney thought it was bogus but said to work with Ocwen to do another loan modification. I did and again submitted everything by the due date for this newest modification in 2018. Today my attorney got a set of letters from Ocwen saying the modification was rescinded for not being submitted timely. I am now pursuing legal action against Ocwen if they do not repair this error of THEIRS.
My only conclusion is the attempt to again force me into another modification so that again the loan payment will go up. I am also submitting a complaint with the CT State's Attorney's Office as well as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. According to their records there have been over 25,000 complaints against Ocwen. The CT State's Attorney General has litigated against them twice in the last 2 years. I have been treated very badly by their representatives in the modification. They suddenly stopped in 2017 when I called to complain.

Had done a loan modification years ago when my mortgage was with GMAC. After many years property values decreased and the interest rate increased much I was not able to make the payment. Decided to remodify the loan in 2017. Absolutely could not believe they would not offer a principal reduction at all even though all they were charging interest on top of interest that had been converted to principal. The principal balance was so high it disqualified me for Government modification. When the loan got remodified they INCREASED my payment. I just don't see the sense in that.
I asked them to unmodify it and they said they cannot do that. Why would anyone modify their mortgage to lower the payment and end up with a higher payment? Is this even legal? Now how much sense does that make? Then within a few months it went even higher? To an additional $800 more! They said it was due to a shortage in the impound account for property taxes. I am now being foreclosed on and have only another 45-60 days before I lose my home. I raised 7 children in this home... it's such a shame.

And the adjustment was only made after I called Ocwen to follow-up on my request. After speaking with an agent, I was assured that the servicing department would be notified about my request. The problem I had with the process is simply that all adjustments should have been made once Ocwen received the necessary paperwork, and some type of acknowledgment made via e-mail that the changes will be/have been made. It's all about simple communications with the customer. The company IKEA does an excellent job of updating customers with 'advisory e-mails'. Their customer service has always been easy to deal with and they treat the individual, not the loan number! I highly recommend this company for your homeowner needs!

They way I got treated and no calls or emails regarding the paperwork is grounds for a lawsuit. I'm now homeless. Not sure but think bank owned. They have been telling homeowners the wrong information, Misplacing mortgage payment with the system call REALServicing which they know is incorrect. This has cause owners payments to be applied then removed and then places a late fee. Just not a good company.

In 2012 I was approved on a HAMP program that allowed my mortgage balance to be deferred over a period of 3 years if I did not default 3 full month payments at the end of any month. The interest rate is fixed for 30 years at 2%. I accepted offer and made all payments on time the first and second year and was given my adjustment of 38k on 8/7/14. During the 3rd year I missed a payment in June which I was gonna pay both in July. I was contacted by Ocwen in July and the person offered to put me on a repayment plan stating that I could simply pay extra for a short amount of time and catch up the payment that was missed, so instead of my payment being $459 it would be $540 a month which was a $91 difference and the plan would expire after 11 months and my payment would go back to the $449.
Originally I told the rep that I was on a modification already so I didn't qualify for this option, she then reassured me stating that this was Ocwen's program and that it would not interfere with the modification. The repayment plan required a down payment of $450 which was basically the amount of my current payment and I was told that I would skip a payment so giving them the $450 saved me a payment and I had just had my baby in June and was off on FMLA so I figured that this was a good option for me. I accepted. Skipping July payment and new repayment payment being due Sept 2014 in the amount of the $540. Now I make all of my payments on time BUT I keep receiving statements that show DIFFERENT AMOUNTS that need to be paid. Example on 7/17/14 stmt sent to me says payment 9/1/2014 amount due is $540.33
THEN I get another stmt on 7/29/2014 that says to pay $518.90 so I make the payment of $540.33 thinking that maybe the stmt was wrong. No big deal… THEN I get a stmt 9/23/2014 with payment 10/1/2014 due in the amount of $407.14 AND it shows the payment of $540.33 from the month prior as UNAPPLIED FUNDS on the stmt, weird but I continue to make the payment of $540.33 but I call my relationship manager and let them know that they are NOT billing me correctly and I need my bills to reflect the $540 payments. I don't get a call back from them to discuss further and AGAIN I get a stmt 10/13/14 STILL showing UNAPPLIED FUNDS OF $540.33 AND this stmt says amount due 11/1/2014 $295.38 so this time I make this exact payment...
11/11/2014 I get another stmt that shows UNAPPLIED FUNDS of the payment that I just made which was $295.38 AND it shows that a payment of $428.57 is now due 12/1/14 so ONCE AGAIN I pay this exact amount. After this payment is made I finally get a call back from the relationship manager and I tell him that he needs to fix this problem and start billing me correctly. 12/10/14 I finally get a CORRECT statement that shows payment due 1/1/15 for $540.33 AND STILL UNAPPLIED FUNDS OF last payment made of $482.57. Jan, Feb, and March I make my payments BUT March's payment was not paid until 3/31 which was still in that month, but I was struggling a little bit after having baby and not being able to return to work because of some health issues and being denied unemployment.
BUT I know that the payment MUST be made in the month due to avoid being reported to credit bureau as well and being 30 days late. So April’s stmt comes 4/4/2015 and it shows that I am due for a payment of $1080.66 but obviously I am not due for two payments cause I paid March so I assume that the stmt just hasn't reflected this payment yet. I proceed and make April’s payment still later in the month BUT in the month. Now stmts 5/1/15 comes and it shows AMOUNT DUE OF $1438.03 due 6/1/15... What is going on??? I start calling every dept within Ocwen to get this resolved. After FOREVER trying to get someone to help me I finally get a manager that researched my loan and tells me that the payment of $295 that was paid 11/10/14 WAS NEVER APPLIED AND WAS IN SUSPENSE.
She told me that while she was getting this corrected I needed to make a payment of $362.18 which I think maybe was the P&I not really sure where this number came from but I made the payment as directed 5/28/15. 5/29/15 statement comes and amount due 6/1/15 is $1562.79 AND UNAPPLIED FUNDS ARE GONE. 6/16/15 stmt comes and amount due for 7/1/2015 is $2031.72 WHAT!!!! PAYMENT DUE 7/1/2015. I make June Payment 6/30/15 in the amount once again of the $540.33. 7/1/2015 stmt comes and now it reflects amount due 8/1/15 for $1080.66 but I am not a payment behind so what is going on????? I made July payment on 7/30/15. OH AND STILL SHOWS UNAPPLIED FUNDS OF $540.33. 7/312015 stmt comes due for 8/1/2015 and amount due is $540.33. WOW IT’S ACTUALLY CORRECT. I made this payment 8/31/15 in the amount of $540.33. STILL UNAPPLIED FUNDS OF $540.33.
9/5 HERE’S THE BIG PROBLEM I went online to make payment and the system told me that I couldn't. So I call my relationship manager at OCWEN and I'm told that the system shows that I am behind in my payments and unless I PAY THE TOTAL DUE OF $2247.71 I would not be allowed to make a payment. What???? This is crazy so I am told from my relationship manager to reapply for a new repayment plan and this would fix the problem. Aggravated beyond belief I proceed and apply for the repayment plan. I am approved and the new payment would be $650 something. Huh. Why so much. My normal payments were only $459 and the repayment was only $540 so how could it be sooo much???
I paid a down payment of $900 and my new repayment plan was suppose to begin Jan 1st 2016, BUT when my papers came in the mail a few days later the payment was $859 so of course I'm not gonna proceed. This is not was told to me. I called the relationship manager again and said that I did not agree to those terms and he told me that he was not able to get me what was discussed because I needed to verify income. So I sent them VOE from my employer and everything else they asked me for and I patiently waited. Nothing was happening so after multiple calls to OCWEN I spoke was told that I should apply for a modification. So I did. I gathered all of the stuff needed and I applied. YEAAAA I WAS APPROVED. “So exciting to be done worrying about this mortgage,” I thought to myself UNTIL I noticed that the amount that I owed was no longer 25k it was 76k. WHAT!!! HOW??? WHY???
So again I begin to call everyone in the company to figure out why was my loan increased. I spoke with a few managers of different departments and it looked like the deferment of the 38k which I should have received based on my 2012 was not deferred and I was told that it was because I was late more than 90 days. NO WAY I was not and all I could think of was all of the drama that I had previously with these payments and that one payment that I was told was never applied of the $295 was this coming back to haunt me again? It was suggested to me that I get in touch with another department that had more power to make big decisions and thus began to speak with Matthew ** in the Ombudsman Department. I explained the situation to him and he told me that he needed time to review, this was in June of 2016.
After numerous emails and phone calls from myself to this department I finally spoke with Mr ** Nov 1st. He called me to say that everything was being corrected. That he was waiting on the exception team to give him the final docs so he could send them to me. Oh and also prior to this date on one of the occasions I called his office and spoke with someone whom told me that my home was pending foreclosure, pending his review. WHAT!!! I Had no clue and this was not possible if I was approved on a modification and never fell behind so this was one of the things that Mr ** told me on the phone also was that the foreclosure was stopped, not valid. I was sooo grateful for him fixing this for me. He said that I would hear back from him in a week or so. I waited, I waited and I waited.
Then I got an email from Mr ** that said that his research showed that the deferment was valid per the research and he mentioned some past due payments. I immediately replied letting him know that the research was not correct and he said that he would proceed to look into what I stated in my reply. Now I am waiting again. Then I called his office and spoke with someone who told me that he was still working on my case and that the foreclosure was on HOLD not canceled pending the research. I called Mr ** directly many times but he was never available then on another occasion I spoke with someone who told me that he closed my case. I sent more emails to Mr ** regarding this and continue to call and again spoke with someone else who told me that my case was not closed. It was still open and that Mr ** was working on it.
She told me that I did have a foreclosure on the account BUT it was on hold and not active. As I am calling and calling and sending emails I am at home receiving letters from the department letting me know that they are actively working on my case to give them more time. The last letter said that I would have an answer by Dec 1st 2016 so that day I called for status and was told that Mr ** was on vacation for a couple of weeks to call back. SO I called back on the 12th or 13th and was told that a very detailed email was sent to me from Mr ** on Dec 13th explaining his research and the steps needed to correct. I never got this email so I asked that it be resent. Again I wait and no email so I call back again and again and talk to a few more people who said that they would have him call me but no calls came, that the email would be resent but no emails came.
In Jan 2017 I spoke with someone who suggested while this was being worked on to apply for yet again another modification but I was confused because I already was approved on the one that was done in June or July of 2016. I simply didn't make the payments because the loan balance was wrong so I was under the impression that this one was still active until, but as she suggested I went ahead and applied again for a new modification. I sent the docs in about the 2nd week of the month and I got a letter a few days letter that I needed one more item to be sent which was my profit and loss stmt so I hurried up and filed my taxes in order to supply them with this because I was a new agent and didn't make enough to file these quarterly. I uploaded it to the Ocwen website on Jan 26th.
Now here's the doozie, on Jan 27th I have a letter taped to my door stating that the sheriff sale on my home is scheduled for Feb 23rd. I’M IN SHOCK. How can this happen. No Notice of Intent to Default, NO phone calls from Ocwen to tell me that my home was in Foreclosure because the office of the ombudsman is telling me that it was either cancelled and or placed on hold pending this investigation, also I was never 120 days late on this mortgage, and I was approved for the previous Modification in July once again pending this investigation so how could this be happening. Every call to Mr **, the Ombudsman Supervisor, is going to VM. I call the office again and speak with Denise explain EVERYTHING to her she tells me that she is going to speak with Mr ** and she or he will call me back. Fast Forward, I never heard back from Mr **, I left a voicemail with his boss and no return call to me.
Denise did finally call me back and I called her a couple of times BUT she was not able to help me. She said that she could not locate ANY NOTES from Mr ** about our conversation when he called me to say that everything was being corrected. She didn’t see that it was being researched anymore, she instead told me that my home was indeed in foreclosure status because of missed payments in 2014 almost 3 yrs prior, that the previous Modification that I was approved for had been cancelled because a payment was not made to keep it active therefore it could not protect me from the foreclosure, also she said that the deferment was correct because when I accepted Ocwen’s repayment plan, the down payment was not applied and I skipped a month’s payment so I was behind in payments which allowed Ocwen to deny giving me the Credit of the 44k that was suppose to be my 3rd loan modification deferment.
Instead they reapplied this to my loan adding 44k to my balance along with missed payments and foreclosure fees. Shock hardly describes how I was feeling for a year I had taken so much time from my days to fight with Ocwen over the phone, via email and I had to recall specific dates, times, etc and in the end they basically tell me that if I don't pay almost 15k I’m gonna lose my house and I had less than 30 days before the sheriff sale. I ended up having to borrow the funds from an agency that will force me to stay in my home for at least 5 years, my credit was affected by the foreclosure, and to top it all off, I am a Realtor and foreclosures lists are sent out to all agents in the local area and my name and address appeared on list for all of my co-workers to see, and one of them even asked me about it.
My career was affected by this, how do you sell a home to someone when they look at you like you can’t even keep yours. The stress alone was too much, depression is real and fighting for a home that you have lived in for 15 yrs is real. Ocwen ruined my life and my hopes to move out of state, because now I don’t have equity to sell and I can’t sell legally for 5 years.

Jenny, we sincerely apologize for your experience with Ocwen and have escalated this to a Senior Manager in our Ombudsman team for review.

When I closed the deal on my house I was with a mortgage company. When the first payment was due I got a letter saying that Ocwen was the one that would be serving my loan now. The first payment has increased considerably compared to what I was told that I would be paying. So I called them over the phone and I told them I didn't understand where the increase was coming from, I just bought the house. They apologized and put the mortgage back to what it was set up to be. In November of last year they have increased the mortgage, I called them. They told me that they run an analysis with the tax property and insurance increased that I would be paying that amount.
I asked the agent on the phone, "That would be it for the year 2018, right? That would be my mortgage with a large increase." She said, "Yes until next year November." Guess what? We are in February. I got hit with another increase on the mortgage again. I spoke to them and they have said the same thing, "We promised until December there would not be any more increase on your mortgage." Does somebody know a little bit more about that? Is it the way it is supposed to be. Do you get two increases in your mortgage in one year? Please help. Is Ocwen a company to trust? PHH has caused more stress and trauma than losing my home, job and town due to Hurricane Harvey, I was given 3 month deferred payments Sept-Dec 1. Told I qualified for up to 12 months. On Dec 1 asked for 3 more months only. I was given “homework that never satisfied them.“ Ex: Need second page of bank statements even though it was blank etc. This was 2-3 calls weekly and everyone would give me different info. My case manager was always condescending and made me cry. I was sent a notice that all paperwork etc was due by 2/4/2018.
On 1/19/2018 I called to report I found a cash buyer. I was informed my loan was sent to foreclosure law office on 1/18/2018. My notice of “intent to foreclose" was mailed on 1/19/2018 and received by me on 1/24/2018. Legally I was still in deferment. After many calls (trying to get info is like extracting teeth) I called the law office and told to call mortgage back and ask for reinstatement payoff. Told yes, then no, maybe, then no as I was driving to wire money to them. I called law office back and thankfully the paralegal was able to pull strings, got my reinstatement payoff. I ended up with 400$ atty fees even though they had it for less than 24 hours.
PHH then said foreclosure will be lifted in 7 days, next call it would take 37 days etc. This misinformation was ongoing and no one could tell me why no one knew what was being said even though they were “writing own all the information given” to me. That was a joke. I begged for someone to expedite as the closing date was in one week. I asked for a supervisor, he told me nothing could be done even though I was reinstated, had a cash buyer and could pay off mortgage. In two hours I received a call that foreclosure was lifted and title company could obtain payoff. Long story but I will never get over the treatment and blatant lies from this crooked company. This company bought my loan without my knowledge and I’ll never ever use or recommend them. Incompetent is understatement.

The customer service team are polite, they give you their badge number and name in case you need to refer back to them at a later date. The team of employees are very helpful in providing you with problems you may be having at the time. I had a problem when my daughter lost her job and had to move in with me, thus, decreasing my income to help them. When I talked with someone in customer service, they were able to lower my mortgage by approving a modification to reduce my mortgage so that I was able to stay in my home. I am so grateful for that.

The agent acted very professionally regarding my concern, however the 1400.00 showed paid on the 12 Jan was to be returned to my bank as same was an over payment. To date NOTHING has been done and at this late stage it makes no sense, which gives me the impression that this was how Ocwen wanted it to be. Unfortunately I was abroad and did not monitor my account until 23 Jan when I returned. The refund should have been set up from 12 Jan which should have taken maybe up to 5 days to show in my account. I will pay my next mortgage in March.

Horace, Ocwen takes customer feedback very seriously, and we apologize for the issue experienced regarding the overpayment. This has been assigned to our Ombudsman team to review and they will be reaching out to you. Thank you.

Ocwen was a big help in my family keeping our home, they worked with us to get through the Harp. During and after that and currently anytime I need help or clarification they are always easy to get on the phone, they always talk clear and have great data, they ask good questions and always have been understanding and are clear about what is possible. This is a great company that really does solve problems, it would not be saying too much that at least in my case Ocwen even achieves morality, which is difficult to do in a for-profit business. Ocwen might be the best customer service company in the United States.

My experience with Ocwen has always been exceptional. When we went paperless, I didn't check my statements for several months causing our online account to become inactive. That resulted in our not being able to log in. I called customer service expecting an unfriendly, condescending representative to scold me and make it difficult to reset our account. I found the opposite. The man was kind, friendly, and helpful. He had us back on track in just a few minutes. What a relief! I am a satisfied client.

Ocwen has consistently been in favor of my needs as a homeowner. The Compassion that they show for a person, with real everyday problems, one they could relate to as a customer, not a 1/5 multiple choice format to choose from employee, at a Mortgage company that is trained to answer the phone's for the day, tell the customer about their multiple choice questions offered up in order to be able to further assist them. Well as we all know, life is , and always will be , Just one surprise after another, some good, some bad, but definitely fall under much more than a 1-5 odds that all & everyone's individual, circumstances, would have A LOT more, multiple reasons why they need compassion and understanding with their individual circumstances.
Help them, us with what we really need or want to keep us happy, in our homes continuing our dreams, relating to it and caring enough to make sure we get all our best options and answers for our questions. I would like to be able to make sure everyone knows that Ocwen is the answer for your needs as a homeowner, mortgage company, relationship when purchasing your home, for real help as your mortgage company you can expect to receive the customer care you hope for and deserve as a homeowner and a person.

My wife and daughter had a terrible accident and my daughter died at 24 yrs old. My wife is now permanent disabled. The Ocwen people don't care and instead of helping me modified her mortgage has destroyed her credit. She is on social security disability and Ocwen violated the credit reporting act ,and destroyed my disabled wife's credit. As a result they are kicking my disabled wife and me and other children out of my own home. I asked them just to modify the mortgage so my wife can pass in her own home. Ocwen destroyed my wife's credit and made it impossible to get her medication. I need someone to help us. Please.

I have contacted Ocwen Servicing multiple times on my mom's loan, it is incredibly frustrating trying to work with this company and even more frustrating that they are completely ignorant to the fact that what they are doing is illegal. Here are some of the issues I am trying to get resolved: Ocwen neglected to pay the Home Owners Insurance on time and the policy was cancelled. They are collecting double for the taxes due on the home, I have contacted them and they justify this by stating that they did a escrow forecast for the previous year and this is what they accessed for the what they should be collecting, the taxes are 5119 annually, they are collecting 9,756.
My mom's loan is in default because she can't make the elevated incorrect payment, she is on a fixed income and has since tried sending them payments to keep her home and Ocwen keeps sending the payments back and tacking on more and more fees... This has to be illegal, this is the worst company I have ever dealt with, they mishandle funds, incorrectly assess taxes, neglect to pay taxes and insurance on time and take advantage of older homeowners who don't have the means to defend themselves, if there are any attorneys that can assist please let me know, thank you so much.

Carlos, we apologize for your experience. We take customer feedback very seriously and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns regarding your mother's account. A member of our Ombudsman team will review the account and contact you.
