    The process up to the loan process being complete was great. Excellent communication and lots of follow up. Process was fairly easy and stress free. Only complaint was there was zero communication once the paperwork was signed. From that point on I didn't know if everything was set or that my mortgage was paid off until I checked my bank, and I have no idea how or where to set up repayment of my loan with New Day. Is there an online account? Can I set up autopay? Will I get something in the mail? Etc.

    I was told from the start that a single person would be handling my loan/point of contact and that I would be continually updated on the progress of my refinance. At one point after not hearing anything I received a letter notifying me that I had not submitted the requested documents which I had actually electronically submitted the same day they had been requested. I received a call the next day from a different agent saying that I had not submitted the documents but while on the phone he looked at my file and saw that the documents were there.

    After no contact for some time I was told that all that was needed was the payoff from my mortgage company which I could provide quicker than they could get it themselves. After submitting the payoff I received a call that they had not received it, where had I sent it? I had sent it to the only contact I had been given, the first guy. I was asked to resend it to this second guy which I did. Shortly after I was asked for my first mortgage statement to prove the age of the loan, which I sent.

    After almost a week I was called and told it was the wrong statement, which it wasn’t as he discovered after he checked with another department. Then nothing for about a week when in the middle of a Saturday while I was out I received a call telling me I needed to electronically sign documents they sent. I told him I was out and he said as long as I signed by midnight it would be fine. I assured him I would. Around 5 pm I received another call asking why I hadn’t signed. Because I wasn’t home and it wasn’t even close to midnight yet! I was close to cancelling the loan at this point. After returning home I signed as requested. A notary came to the house a few days to perform the closing. Until this survey request I have heard nothing further from them. The only way I knew the loan actually funded is that my prior mortgage showed closed when I looked online.

    The title company caused delay after delay through its inefficiency and inconsistencies. The loan closing that was originally estimated to be held on July 10th did not take place until August 21st. I am a quadriplegic and cannot sign all the documents in the closing package, therefore I asked them to draw up a POA for my wife to sign for me. The title company said that they could not prepare one, so I made two different ones, both of which were refused by them. They finally prepared one, which is what I asked for in the first place.

    Mr. ** was kind, and patient with my questions. BUT---When the loan got to Underwriting they held up the process for, my opinion, stupid waste of time. I have owned three homes over the past 27 years AND have NEVER missed a monthly payment. But Underwriters went back 2014 when I refinanced then and like this current loan I don"t have to make a payment this Sept. first. But they wanted me to write a letter to my past Mortgage Co. and have them supply a letter confirming this situation. After telling them I wasn't going to waste my time or theirs weeks later Underwriters requested I sign a loan paper stating I was aware of a skipped payment. PISSED ME OFF. Again, I have never missed a payment and I'll be setting up automatic payments with New Day USA.

    Overall, we were generally happy with the whole process. However, our final quote ended up being $100 difference (out of pocket for us) than what we were initially quoted. That seemed like a lot to us and especially since we were quoted a much higher amount that we would be saving. There were several times when we emailed back and did not receive a response.     NewDay USA continued to ensure us the closing was on schedule then had problems with a form just a couple of days before the closing. They had the forms for about 3 week prior, then claimed the VA would not allow 100% or the 95% we were seeking and dropped the loan amount - - delaying closing again. During all this NEWDAY USA proceeded to get a new payoff quote every two weeks and it was being charged to me at $30 each time even when the original quote included a rate to calculate if more time was needed. When they knew closing was delayed over 30 days, they still got a new quote every 2 weeks.... Do not use NEWDAY US, they will cost you in the long run.

    Told 1 point fee and 1 point discount rate reducer. 1 POINT is completely reasonable. YES, the 1 POINT DISCOUNT is actually another FEE and in reality is just another 1 POINT FEE IN DISGUISE!!!! New Day gets a rate from the actual lender, up sells that rate, then In Turn charges you to BUY it back DOWN to the original RATE THEY GET FROM THE LENDER. They Charge 2 points. Yield spread is what it’s called. I got a 3.25, told that includes a 1 point rate reduction lol DISGUISED IN BS. Again it’s a FEE.

    I stopped right after that, asked the questions of the above mentioned ONLY TO BE TRIED TO TALKED INTO CIRCLES AND REDIRECTED. Blue Square Mortgage got me 2.75% 2.66% APR. Reason for the lower APR than the actual rate is Blue Square Mortgage got a lender that contributes money to the customer. Mine is in the tune of $5225 that paid everything including 8 months taxes reserve to escrow, and other closing costs, as well a check from escrow to me for $427 not to mention my former mortgage tax escrow and over payment as well a missed payment due to the refinance. YES ALL TRUE.

    I’m a USMC VETERAN and call BS ON NEW DAY. I assume all other reviews had good experiences with NEW DAY, but if you knew of a better deal YOU WOULD TAKE IT. I have zero complaints New Day is working a niche they believe they have, only reason for my review is to inform veterans, don't just believe in new day because the owner and navy veteran advertises about new day and helping veterans, other companies as mentioned blow new day out of the water!!!! Rah America, rah president Trump and rah USMC.

    My suggestion is to ensure employees understand the importance of communication and value time. Time lost can not be replaced.     Started IRRRL process with New Day USA on 2020-03-31. Provided all information requested. Experienced continued lack of communication. Repeatedly asked for updates via phone and email. Account rep. did not return calls or emails or would say he would call but did not. Locked-in rate contract expired and did not receive new documentation to lock in new rate even when asked for it several times. Found out today 2020-06-05 that the refinance could not be done. This information could have been communicated more than 2 months ago. New Day USA completely wasted my time.

    Also, when trying to talk to someone other than my original rep., the New Day USA corporate number automatically routed my call back to the original representative. When I called the corporate number using my cell number and finally got someone on the phone, that person said that he was just the ‘calling concierge’ and only transferred calls to account reps. When asked to be transferred to the corporate office he said that he had to look that number up. He came back to say that New Day USA does not have a corporate number to transfer me to. This company is extremely unprofessional and does not take care of its customers. DO NOT DEAL WITH NEW DAY USA!!!

    Overall process went smoothly. I did have some concern when the rep explained that the costs (Points/Closing Fees) were recovered by our savings in 36 months and that was a VA requirement! At the actual closing those costs were shown as being recovered in 48 months. I was pleased with the new rate we received 2.75%, but we paid for it $9,000 in closing fees. Our previous refi had been with RP Funding and those fees were paid by the lender. I saw the commercials on TV and asked my wife what she thought and we both thought at first it couldn't be for real. Boy, was I ever wrong! With New Day we are saving $15,000.00 a year.     Taking 5 months to close on a refinance using a new VA loan certainly was not in sync with the TV advertisements, which caused me to select NewDayUSA. NewDayUSA reviewed my credit report and noticed a loan identified as a home improvement loan. It was, but it was a 'signature loan' with Navy Federal Credit Union, no lien against the home in question. It took a few months to get NewDayUSA to realize this and only did so when NFCU finally confirmed. This slowed the process, and had to begin anew, but even so, it should not have taken 5 months to do so. I am so frustrated with NewDayUSA. I am actively searching NOW to refinance with another company - I will never recommend NewDayUSA to anyone. On the positive side, the customer service attitude of Josh and Emily were superb at all times and handled my frustration professionally. I only wish those in the background supporting these folks did the same.

    After a phone call I faxed 3 forms they requested to streamline VA loan. Sent me forms to fill out and sent back to them. They “lost” them when I sent priority confirmed mail. Locked in rate not locked in. Then I receive a letter requesting the forms I faxed. I had received an email confirming they received the fax. Terrible and unreliable with personal information. Stopped the process! Run from them!
