We had a very good experience. There were 4 representatives that took care of our applications. Out of 4 1 did an excellent job all throughout the processing his name is Michael **. I highly recommend him. He answers all our call in a very timely manner. All our questions were answered completely. Very patient. Our experience with him will not be forgotten. Thank you so much!

I can’t imagine a refinance being any simpler than mine. I’d refinanced several years ago with a well known mortgage company but the New Day USA refi was very easy and painless. My broker “Patrick” was all over my loan, very proactive, responsive, professional and kept me informed. I was able to close two weeks earlier than our initial estimate. Pleased that I was able drawn a substantial amount of equity and payoff all my outstanding debt and have money left over for new wood floors. If rates go down I’ll be contacting them again. Although the process was streamlined and fairly expedient, it did not seem that there was genuine concern or care for the customer. It was; we need this and we need that, the only sense of urgency was for what New Day needed. When I had questions or concerns people were hard to contact and distant. We closed in early August. Since closing I have not been in contact with any New Day employee. My first payment is due 1 October and I have no clue how to make a payment. Unsat.

All was good till closing day. Did not go as smoothly as a closing should, mostly the title company but not totally. My realtor had to save the day but that's not her job, she sells houses and is the best I've ever had the pleasure working with.

Overall, a great and smooth process. The only downfall was the fact that NewDay could not submit electronic payments to pay off a few debts. We had to receive paper checks and because these bills are normally paid on line, it was quite a lot of work to get physical addresses and make sure we got credited to the correct account.

It all started out well enough...the process was easy! We were told that we were approved...got the appraisal done...the termite inspection done...just about to close the deal and Simon my agent called me a few days later and told us that we were now denied! They left us with the appraisal cost and the termite inspection cost and refused to pay either one! My advice to you is to use someone else! They will drag you all the way to the end then deny you...leave you holding the costs! Thank you New Day and thanks Simon!!!

The process took longer than we anticipated. We ran into deadlines, so had to redo some forms. The agent was very sorry and helpful. We just got finished with the process and a new company sent us a letter saying they bought our mortgage from you. So goodbye.

Would recommend New Day if you need home mortgage. Easy to work with, very helpful. Recently did a refi with them, everything went smoothly. I would use them again for new mortgage or refi. Was able to handle everything by email or text, except for closing. A lady came to our home for the closing paperwork.

I had very high expectations about New Day, based on commercials, and the fact that an Admiral from the US Navy was head of the Corporation, as I am retired from the US Navy. We will reserve some of our comments about the refinance of our loan, as we know that a lot goes into the process. We would suggest that the training of the people assigned to a customer be analyzed. The associate should know to whom they are speaking before sharing information about someone else. They should be expected to keep the customer informed about where the process is at, not just leave them wondering. The customer should not have to seek out processes, or contact business references.
For those reasons and others, we are not completely satisfied, We now have to wait for all of the creditors to refund overpayments, that an up to date credit check would have alleviated. In this day and age, direct deposit of additional cash to the customer would help, instead of sending them a check, and a hold is put on by the bank.

The refinancing process went very smoothly. I was called fairly quickly by my mortgage counselor who took the information on our situation and quickly showed how much we would change by refinancing. We worked with 2 mortgage counselors who were always quick to answer questions and constantly kept my wife and I up to date on the refinancing process. The whole process was smooth and the communication was excellent!

...and all we had to do was sign our names, in person, 148+ times. From the moment we called them they began to work on our behalf. Working out all the details, sending us forms to e-sign, then sending a Notary to our home to have us sign the final paperwork. I did have to create one piece of paper which had two forms of photo I.D. for each of us. The final result was having the home we bought just over a year ago cost us about a hundred-dollars less per month than our original mortgage. IF you can find a company that will accept all your original homebuyer paperwork instead of duplicating the entire original process and refinance your mortgage 2.25% with no out of pocket costs please let us know.

I had a great experience in this refi process. Every representative in New Day was very professional, and knowledgeable. Every question I had was answered quickly. The whole process was quick and easy. I was explained all options, and offered more assistance if those options were not to my liking. The market value of my house was not where I wanted and it almost messed up the refi. I called later to see what could be done and they helped me make new and better decisions that actually accomplished my goal to bring down my rate and save money every month on a lower mortgage payment.

I thought the communication could have been better. I felt as if I was rushed, especially with the notary. I gave him an excellent review but he was sitting right in front of me watching what I wrote. He left me with the possibility that we might have a problem with my husband signatures but I had to call to find out that indeed the loan had funded. Connor kept calling me "sir" and I felt as if I was always talking with a Marine.

During my refi process it seemed as though my interests were not the priority. My rate went up due to not locking in in a timely manner. At my first closing appoint all of the documents were NOT how they appeared digitally with regards to titling. When I inquired the loan processor had no idea how to get the situation resolved. After I contacted an attorney and then the title company to get it fixed, the processor implied he/NDUSA got it resolved.
Once final docs were received I asked about some specific fees. Processor said he didn’t know what they were for, he was just happy the closing costs and overall payment was lower. Comments like this beg the question ‘what type of training do your processors even have?’ I was much less than satisfied and several times considered just keeping the loan I had. But honestly I wasn’t going to throw away good money after bad and pay you for nothing. And I just wanted my loan out of TD Banks hands. I can say I don’t know that I would recommend you to anyone else.

My overall service from NewDay USA was excellent. The staff I dealt with directly was extremely professional and friendly to deal with. My only complaint was your underwriting department seemed a little Nit-Picky for some of their requests. But we dealt with it and everybody seemed happy in the end. Hopefully at our age (75 & 76) this will be our last of the mortgages we will need. If I see another Veteran in need of financial assistance, I would be more than glad to recommend them to you for help. I had a very good experience. The entire process was smooth. Time consuming but smooth. My only negative comment regards the PHH finance company where my monthly mortgage payment apparently goes. I started calling them on 2 June. I finally was able to clarify my payment plan was set up on 24 June. It took 7 calls to bring that to fruition. I am having my bank make an automatic payment on 1 July. Starting 1 August I think PHH will take my payment automatically. At least I hope so. I believe getting signed up with them was arduous. But your company I absolutely would refer to someone else. Happy to. Bill **

I thought we were going to get funds after the loan and we didn't.... Rep was good but didn't understand our request at the end and we thought we were going to get a better interest rate.. The paper work went on and on, didn't like that at all...

The whole process was seamless. I only had to provide 2 documents, my mortgage and home insurance statements. The rate NewDay USA gave me was so low that I didn't even need to compare with other lenders. I dealt with the same agent from beginning to end who was very professional and kept in touch throughout. The whole process from the time I applied to closing was less than 3 weeks! The closing notary even comes to your house to sign the paperwork. I couldn't have dreamed for an easier mortgage refinance.

For years I've considered refinancing our home with a VA loan. I had a Wisconsin State VA loan years ago but our state doesn't do that anymore. I was pleased to find out I could still get a VA loan through NewDay USA and the process was made fairly painless by our agent Joseph **. I did appreciate the hard work the agent put in for my loan, but I definitely felt like just another number for a loan. I would get overwhelmed with electronic papers, some duplicates and some in error. It was hard to tell what was the latest and most current documents. In the end, I believe it all worked out, I saw that because I haven't made my first payment yet.

I would recommend NewDay to anyone who would listen to me. I having trouble understanding why I had to come up with $36,000.00 to secure a $250,000 VA note. If I had an extra 36 grand I would be rich. Newday stepped in and saved the day for me and my wife! A lot of papers to sign. With the help of our rep it was a cake walk, the seller was happy. We're happy, our payments were cheaper than the apartment rent, with taxes and insurance included, it doesn't get any better than that. All in it was 5 star plus experience!

Underwriters do not effectively communicate with loan originators. My pre-qualification and pre-approval as well as issuance of cash buyer's certificate were were relatively smooth. Once contract was accepted on the house, there came a flood of repeated requests for more and more, records, documentation, even including a certified CPA audit of my business for the first quarter of the year when we were not even through the first quarter of the year. Incredibly frustrating and stressful. Have bought and sold four homes in my life and this was by far, the worst experience I've ever had.

After filling out an online questionnaire about mortgage approval, I was downtrodden. I was in a situation where I had two months to find housing for my family. My father, a 24 year veteran recommended NewDay as I am a veteran myself. I could not have been happier with the outcome. Colson ** called me and went through my financial numbers and gave me positive outcome. He got back to me quickly regarding my VA loan approval and mortgage numbers. As this was my first home purchase, it was daunting and formidable but Colson was always explaining what I needed to do and what everyone else needed to do. He even answered my random questions about home purchasing that may not have been in his direct purview. Colson helped greatly in reducing the anxiety of purchasing a home.
I was soon handed off to the underwriting team with New Day and Meredith ** took over and again was very helpful making sure I had and did what was needed. This however did not stop Colson from continuing to assist and to make sure I was approaching closing on time. I am extremely grateful and happy with New Day, to the point I am looking forward to making my first mortgage payment. I will have no problem recommending them in the future.

I requested a lower payment and provided me with all closing cost nothing out of pocket. All docs were sent via fax and electronic signatures were available. Appraiser was on time and friendly and fast. All docs were download by PDFs the website easy to use and understand. No hidden cost (Wells Fargo added $5000 on the end of the loan). One note you have to be a Vet to be provide their service.

I had the same experience as a previous reviewer. I accepted a rate of 2.25%. Started the process and was told that I would have to separate my home from my trust in order to proceed (their company policy and not a law). I spent $300 to make this happen, sent NewDay the proof and then was told that my rate would be 2.75%. What I was not told in the beginning that because I had to take the time to make the separation, that they did not approve my loan and I would have to start the process all over again. I did everything in good faith. I was able to speak to a supervisor but he just regurgitated the same company line and was not willing to make an exception to their policy. Needless to say I did not continue the process as I felt I could not trust them. I know I'm going to get the same automated response as others who were not satisfied with NewDay. I would much rather discuss this with the Admiral.

Gratitude and appreciation to New Day USA and Warren ** my loan officer throughout the process. No hassles, no issues, no problems. Fast, efficient, easy steps along the way. I received a ton of letters from mortgage companies offering me better interested rates as low as 1.75, no mortgage payment for two months. The mail started coming in January 2021. My current mortgage Company at the time only offered me .5 % lower interest rate, I was at 3.625%. New Day caught my interest due to the quality of your TV commercials.
Any regrets made if any are, I wish I would have jumped sooner switching to New Day USA. My interest rate ended up at 2.75%. I was hoping for 2.5%. Please don’t miss understand me I’m not complaining. I would recommend New Day USA to any Vet. My advice is don’t be complacent act sooner than later to choose a dependable mortgage company. Within a week of starting this refi, we were informed that we bought two discount points without our knowing. I was approved for this refi, which I thought that was 3%. In the next one to two week period the rate jumped TWICE by 3/8%. We were not locked in until the day before closing. There were many unexpected $$$ events during the course of this refi. I am 78 years old and we have bought and sold a number of homes using conventional loans over the years, and never once did we encounter unexpected $$$$, and once approved we were afforded a locked in interest rate early on in the purchase process. Being a veteran, and using my veteran's right to refi through your company, I am extremely dissatisfied with the process, i.e. discount points, two increases in interest rates in a short period of time. I would ask that we be afforded the original interest rate of 3%. I would ask that I receive a response to this memo.

We were originally quoted an interest rate of 2.25% and a closing date of March 7. After several delays, we ended up with 2.75% and a closing date of April 7. Through no fault of our own, that half a percent is going to end up costing us over $23,000. Not happy at all.

This is one of the few companies that will pick up the phone before it goes to voicemail. That being said, everyone in the refinance process has a great attitude. They are very patient and answer all your questions very thoroughly. My contact at NewDay is Ben **. He has been very helpful and patient. Everything he has said and everything that New Day advertises is the absolute truth. The procedures that New Day follows are seamless. I have been thru Refinancing before with other lenders and to tell you the truth I often felt like I was being ignored. Ben would religiously call me every week to give me updates.
But, this is a two way street? If as the customer you do not work with New Day and drag your feet you will not have your refinance completed in the 30 day as promised. Ben even had asked for my help because two of my creditors New Day had never dealt with before and New Day couldn't get thru to the right people. I was able to help Ben by getting him contact information that had helped my refinance process. I am totally pleased with the speed and accuracy of New Day and they have lived up to their words. My old finance rate was 5.125% and Ben was able to lock me in at 2.25%. This has given me literally thousands of dollars a year in savings. My wife and I couldn't be happier.

This was and is very upsetting because the agent did not lock us I like he should have. So now our savings is much less than we could have saved. We still moved forward with the refinance but feel we have been mislead and cheated. I hope the Admiral really reads this and can do something about this situation. We should be honored the 2.25 rate like we were initially agreed to move forward with. I feel I was unfairly dealt with!

I was constantly being given a different individual to handle my account. Twelve days before my closing date I was told there were new matters that needed to be resolved to get the loan, this was after dealing with someone for over a month and a half.

Updated on 04/07/2021: Have not made it two weeks after signing. NewDay USA sold off my account to another Mortgage Company. One of my first questions I raised Will you be selling off my Mortgage? The answer was a resounding No! NewDay was servicing its loans. They have not been selling off loans recently. I received notification yesterday mail that another company out of NJ is taking over... So much for NewDay USA servicing loan. I'm still waiting for signed closing documents, Closing Agent said she could no longer retrieve from System. Was to be provided via a PDF.
Original Review: When I started process rates were being advertised at 1.98 - 2.00 Percent. I understand there were a lot of applications. By the time my appraisal was completed three weeks passed. Rates went to 2.50 percent before being locked in. Agent did everything to ensure loan was completed. Agent talked me into 30 year where initially I was looking for 15 years. I added about 6.5K to my current mortgage in mostly associated fees. Experienced some electronic glitches with wife's application. Closing was fast in our home. Closing agent missed a form we signed and faxed to New Day USA.
I have yet to receive copy of closing documentation as agent said she no longer had access to file. New Day USA would forward. I have not seen. I would have rated five stars minor glitches. I can only give four at this time. I hope automatic payments after first payment 5/1/2021 goes smoother. Overall I would recommend New Day USA to refinance veterans' mortgages.

My experience with New Day has been excellent except for all the emails I got asking me to refinance, I was already in the process and I responded back asking to stop sending me advertisements that I was already in the process. This was to no avail as they kept coming.

I would like to first say that Conor who talked to me just about everyday did an outstanding job. The other areas of this process were completely unacceptable. I was asked to make repairs to a patio that I made very clear I was demolishing and then I was asked to make additional repairs that were not even listed on the VA inspection report. I had to take multiple photos of the repairs on different days to prove the repairs were made. Then some underwriter wanted me to secure this patio to the house. It was a free floating structure and was never connected to the house. If I knew how much of a hassle this process was going to be I would have never done it. I bought this house through USAA 11 years ago and the process was painless.

My only complaint is that I wish we were informed in the beginning of the process of ALL information that will or might be required, like a termite inspection, well water test and pension confirmation. The Attorney arrived with one set of documents. The loan has funded, and I still don’t have any copies. I asked the loan officer for my copy and have not received anything to date. The loan funded on 3/27/21. I have filed a complaint with the CFPB.
The customer service team is currently working with the title company to get a signed copy out to you as soon as possible.

Initial contact and submission of forms/data seemed normal. Your agent (no longer with you) was professional and easy with whom to talk. Then multiple issue he stated were with another section concerning prepaid escrow dollars. After several phone calls and/or emails Agent Miller said it was resolved and we set up notary appointment. A review of the documents with the notary revealed that the prepaid escrow issue still existed; therefore the documents could not be processed. Additional phone calls/emails and research by you agent Miller allowed preparation and notary of final documents. My payment statement arrived with correct financial figures generating my payment to you of $655.48 for the months of January, February and March. To my surprise I received a refund check from my insurance company in the amount of $1,170.00.
After many phone calls to the many different fingers of your company (several hours of which I was on hold half the time, transferred several times, hung up on twice and/or told had wrong office and given several different numbers to call as they could not address my issues) as well as to my insurance company's it was determined that you had paid my insurance premium twice; once December 7th and again January 19th (I was told). Then I was notified that my payment was increasing from $655.48 to $727.73 per month (for which I mailed a check end of March) as my escrow account was in a deficient status of $1232.58; represented by $34.24 future shortage and $38.01 recalculation of monthly escrow needs.
Part of the phone call escapades of above I had requested a escrow printout which I received dated February 22, 2021. As I did NOT want my monthly payment to increase I mailed a check in the amount of $1,500.00, which was received/cashed by PHH Mortgage. Oops, here comes another refund check in the amount of $301.66 marked overage refund. Now I look on-line and see my monthly payment will go from $655.48 to on $693.49. What? I exclaimed to my self. I mailed the above referenced escrow payment to keep my monthly payment at $655.48. So why did you send me a refund?
The on-line site shows two amounts for escrow which I do NOT understand or agree with/to. $479.00 to Allstate (which has never been apart of my loan as I pay it directly each year) and $158.98 (which are my county taxes on another totally separate piece of property I own and has nothing to do with the home/loan)? Based on your escrow breakdown sheet I take it these two items represent the Additional #38.01 increase in my monthly payment from $655.48 to $693.49? Totally, I estimate I have wasted more time on your service that on all other purchases/refi's since I purchased my first home in 1976. And after all of it, I still end up with a payment with which I desire or satisfied. And if I could give your organization a negative "star", I would do so!
Based on my experience so far with your company I just as confident this will never reach "Adm Lynch". Maybe you would be so inclined to share this with the young lady Spokesperson before she makes another advertisement. HOWEVER, I do want the $158.98 removed from this refi-loan and any payments made to my escrow account refunded.

NewDay has the best rates, but it seems that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in the loan process. Maybe too many chefs in the kitchen? I went thru 4 different loan officers and seemed that none of them were telling the others what I had sent or what was needed to finish the VA IRRL loan. Luckily it worked out in the end (I hope) but I really can't recommend you folks to other veterans.

I was very pleased with the process and the outcome of my refinancing experience with New Day Financial (NDF). All of the staff involved were extremely supportive and helpful; particularly Trent ** and Brandon **. I was very impressed with the way the folks in the "back office" stayed ahead of my needs. My Homeowners Insurance was due two weeks after we closed and NDF stayed ahead of the game and contacted my insurance company to let them know that they would pay the premium on time. When I first started the process, Brandon gave me a target date for closing of 3/12/2021. NDF beat that by a day. Closing went very smoothly and funding occurred on time. I am very pleased with the interest rate on the mortgage. I would recommend that ALL veterans take advantage of this wonderful institution. NDF has made my life a lot simpler and I feel that they have made my financial needs in my later years much more secure.

Edward ** was great in explaining the process. We dealt exclusively with him. Only the necessary documents were asked for (no blank pages needed to be faxed). Gave us an tentative closing date early on which he managed to beat. The closing was quick and easy in our home.
