I worked with two different people. The first person was a gal, and she took my phone call. I was calling about a payment issue. I had misplaced one of my bills. I knew my bill was coming up, so I called in. She said, “You know, I noticed that you are at a high interest rate,” because I was. We weren't refinancing because we're not planning on staying here long-term. And then, she said, “Well, that's okay. I can get you an estimate or a quote to do a refinance.” She was super friendly and helpful.
After that, I got transferred to the loan guy and he was fabulous as well. A situation came up where my husband's credit was affected. I guess somebody got the wrong name and put some collection things on my husband's credit, and that got flagged during the whole closing process. But I'm so glad we found that because imagine how long that would have sat on our credit. And they were like, “It's okay. Just send us a letter that that wasn't you.” And we were able to close on time. And then, my husband was able to get his credit cleared quickly. Everybody was helpful.
Mr. Cooper was very professional, personal, kind, and high quality. We've had our loan with them forever and we got them through a broker. But next time I buy a house, which will probably be in the next one to three years, I will use Mr. Cooper direct. I'll just stick with that company because they give amazing service. I hope they’re always that amazing. I had a good experience with them.

I'm pretty inquisitive, so I had a lot of questions and the person from Mr. Cooper that helped me did a pretty good job. My questions were answered. I don't feel like I left with any questions unanswered. I enjoyed working with Mr. Cooper. I got a better interest rate. There's more money a month that I'm saving.

Mr. Copper was very helpful during the loan process. The process went really smoothly. So, I could not be any more pleased with Mr. Cooper. We had our original loan through them, and we were shopping around for another loan. But the fact that we didn't have to do an inspection has made it easy. Everyone at Mr. Cooper was so pleasant to deal with, so we felt comfortable sticking with them. We've been very happy ever since. The rate could have been a little bit lower. We could have found the rate a little bit lower somewhere else. But overall, we're happy with paying that little bit extra for the service. They are doing a great job.

Mr. Cooper did a great job. Everything went very nice and straightforward. It moved quickly, which was what we wanted since it was just a refi. Anytime that you do any mortgage thing, you're always afraid that it's going to go up. The rates went down. I was hoping that we could have switched those to the lower rate, but we're good because it was lower than our original. The gal we worked with was always communicative and always helping me understand if I had a question. She did an amazing job.

My rep from Mr. Cooper answered all my questions and responded in a timely fashion. The terms were better than what I had, and I was able to get some equity back to remodel my kitchen. Everything went extremely well.

Mr. Cooper's communication sucks and they screwed me over for two months. They should have called and said, "Hey, your taxes went up. It's gonna cost more." But they didn't call me. They were taking more money than I authorized and that messed everything else up so I refinanced. I was paying 100 extra. There was no reason for them to take any more money but they did 'cause they wanna make sure I was still paying that extra. They put me behind for two months and cancelled my automatic payment. They can be better at calling and not send a letter. They said they would send an email but I don't have access to one.

Mr. Cooper was proactive about letting us know about the streamline refinance when mortgage rates dropped considerably. We crunched the numbers and we were looking to see if there was a catch to see why they were so proactive about having us offering a refinance, with no closing costs. We've loaned our house for three years and have refinanced with them three times going from originally a 4% interest rate and the last one was 2.5%. The last time, the process was quick and all we had to do was submit a proof of ID. We took care of what they needed in five minutes and then, they scheduled the closing a couple of weeks out.
It's been a good experience with Mr. Cooper so far. They're extremely responsive and punctual. Benjamin, the rep, was very helpful and a pleasure a work with. My wife and I split the payments right down the middle and we made every payment since we've had the mortgage. Some of the Mr. Cooper agents told us that it was completely fine and they would handle it on their end. We had one lady we spoke with that said that we have to make one payment. But it's a non-issue. Sometimes though, the website would not allocate the funds properly. So, there was some confusion sometimes, even though we did everything right. But that was a very minor hiccup and they resolved it right away. I've referred other people to Mr. Cooper who have refinanced and they've had very smooth experiences with them.

Our loanDepot loan was transferred to Mr. Cooper. loanDepot had told us that if we had a year of on time payments, we could refinance for no cost. The reps were wonderful. Our payment is lower, because we went from a 15-year to a 30-year. I recommended Mr. Cooper to someone.

There were two people we worked with and they were both helpful. The big thing with refinance is getting someone to appraise, and Mr. Cooper was able to waive that based on some information that they looked up. That was handy. Mr. Cooper seems to be a good company. We got a better payment. They sold our mortgage, but it was enjoyable to work with them at the time.

Everything on our refinancing was done online rather than in person but it went pretty well. We ended up working with several people who would send emails throughout the life of the process of refinancing. But the original guy we worked with didn't explain that the loan was going to go up ‘cause we only owed 100,000. We refinanced and then the loan changed to 110,000 because the costs involved were rolled over into the loan.

I have been conditionally approved for a refi since early Dec 2020. As of the review April 1st 2021, I still have not closed. My loan application has been sitting with the same person who either refuses to help or doesn't understand their job. I don't get any communication unless I initiate it and continue to be told they are working on it. I have not pulled my application simply because interest rates have increased from the time I got locked in. I hope someone finds this review helpful and avoids trying to get a new loan with Mr Cooper.

Sent them my county tax bill in October 2020. They acknowledged they received it. Found out February 3, 2021 that they didn’t pay the taxes and now there is a penalty. When I first called, on 2/3/2021 they told me not to worry, it would be resolved within 7 business days. It is now 3/31/2021 and my taxes have not been paid. Every time I call it is a different story and I am told the check has been mailed, but each time the date changes. I’ve now been told the check was mailed 3/22/2021, 3/26/2021, and 3/29/2021. Such a joke...but not funny, because I will lose my house if these incompetent people don’t pay my taxes.

Mr. Cooper's reps were very responsive. Communication was great. Through emails and phone calls, they're very up to date on all the information that I needed or they needed. When you refinance, you shop around and try to find the best rate, and Mr Cooper was the best rate for me.

We haven't been with Mr. Cooper that long but everything seems great, so far. The refinance lowered our monthly payments and it caused our insurance to go down. Since we're on a fixed income, that has really helped us a lot.

Within a week, we had everything set, and then we were signing papers. It took about three weeks in total from when we first started to when we were closing. We refinanced to get a lower interest rate and decrease the amount of the time frame of our loan. So, I got to save even more money in the long run. We're gonna end up being able to cut it down to $50,000 in the end. I've done signing the paperwork all by myself. It was pretty easy. It was nice to be able to sign it online.

I love the representatives at Mr. Cooper. They were very courteous, concerned and very assistive. The guidance was A-plus. With Mr. Cooper, I've gotten a lower mortgage and a more responsive team. They should keep doing what they're doing. I loved working with them.

The rep from Mr. Cooper was very knowledgeable and she was sweet as can be. She was really good at explaining what would be the best for us. There was one payment that was taken out when it shouldn't have been. But we haven't heard anything about that.

You could go use Mr. Cooper because they handled business and they were professional. Everything was timely. Whatever they told me, like how long that the process would take, it took that long. And they got back to me in good timing. So, it was a good experience. We lowered our mortgage rate a few hundred dollars each month, so that's good. I'd recommend them.

We had a second loan with Discovery and it was at 7%. Then we got an offer from Mr. Cooper for a refi at 3%, from 4.5%. We initiated this loan process, which was a simple matter of combining two existing loans. We already had a loan in the house with Mr. Cooper and we just wanted to combine them with the second loan at a lower interest rate.
We initiated the process in November of last year and Mr. Cooper asked us if we wanted to take any money out. We told them that we'd take 10.000 out at the same time. Their closing amount was over $8,000, which we thought was pretty high. But we understand that going with the percentage of the loan. In mid-December, right around Christmas, I told the Mr. Cooper rep that I would like to close before the end of this tax year for tax purposes and I was told that it was not gonna be a problem. Then when we called a couple of times and left messages, we got no response. Come January 30th, we got a letter dated December 28th of the previous year that the rep never forwarded to us. At that point, we had lost all faith. This was a simple matter of combining two loans and it took eight months and then it just didn’t happen.

Last mid November 2020, I attempted to re-finance my home, through Mr. Cooper, who was then my primary mortgage holder. They were insistent they could get a lower rate for me, and they knew my past payment record as they had held my mortgage since March 2012. I had a perfect credit score, hardly any debt, and I had sufficient income to make my mortgage payments without fail as far as we can see into the future. The first two weeks went swimmingly. Derek **, my Mr. Cooper representative guided me how to convey requested documents to the staff at Mr. Cooper. Kayla ** was my liaison at Mr. Cooper who would process my documents.
I was then advised that it would be just a few weeks to get the paperwork in the system. I could see my status on my personal Mr. Cooper app. Over the next two weeks, every single document was provided to Mr. Cooper in order to get the matter concluded. I called Derek and Kayla two weeks into December about how much longer it would take. No response. The third week, I called again. No response. I e-mailed, texted and called these two individuals every day until the week of Christmas. The first week in January 2021, I get a cryptic email from Kayla ** who wanted a scanned copy of my Certificate of Trust. I had sent that, before, but I just sent it again.
On January 5 Kayla ** e-mails me that she was terribly busy and did not have the time to get back to me. She then said she would call me on January 11. She did not, so I started to call, e-mail, text etc., again to get a status update. I have never heard from Derek ** all this time who was the friendly MC salesman who started me down this path. Needless to say, Ms. ** never got back to me, and I persistently kept trying to get in touch with her.
On January 21, Mr Cooper FLUSHED my whole loan package without a warning or a reason, or anything else. The whole thing just disappeared from my MC app!! No one ever got back to me or told me why this happened. About a week after all this, I noticed houses in my area were selling appreciably above market share in a very short amount of time. So I take it up and make a fine six figure profit. Once the sale was completed, I get a call from a Mr. Cooper Broker who tells me that I am now --- Pre-qualified with them to purchase another home!! BWAH HeAAAH---BWAHeAAAH--HeAAAH--HeAAAH! After composing myself, I told him that I WOULD NEVER use Mr. Cooper for anything at any time, now and forever!

I am in the process of selling my home (scheduled to close on 4/1/21). For 3 weeks now, I have been trying to get open liens canceled. We should only have 1 active lien with Mr Cooper, however they have screwed up both refinances and recorded multiple times with my county. We have 2 liens that should not be open, and no one seems to want to help. I have emailed for 3 weeks straight. I have called over 50 times. All they have sent me is a recorded release which is the one I already have. I have asked them to research the records so they can see the liens that still need to be recorded as satisfied. They will not do it. I have attached the deeds of trust that are open, and they are ignoring those files and just sending what they already have as satisfied.
I am running out of options, as I cannot sell my home with multiple liens. Since they messed this up, and will not update the records and cancel the remaining duplicate liens, we are in jeopardy of losing our buyers, and in breach of contract. This has become more than frustrating as it is now putting my family and sale in jeopardy, and we have to sell this home, to complete the purchase of the new one.

After over 3 months I had to walk away. They are not detail oriented and there is always a last minute issue. Will not do business with again. Every time we get close another issue that should have been handled months ago comes up.

When I did my mortgage, I told the rep I wanted my taxes and insurance out like usual, and they didn't do that. The refinance was kinda screwed up. They scheduled closing dates three times on it. I just got a letter the day before yesterday saying that they sold my mortgage. I’m not too happy with that either. I’ve been with Mr. Cooper for 10 years and they say, “Oh yeah, that’s one thing good about Mr. Cooper. They don’t sell your mortgage.” The next thing I know, a month after I closed on it, they're sold.

The whole refinance process went smoothly. There was a bump in the interest rate I was initially quoted however it was still lower than it previously was. Even signing all those papers once again wasn't that bad. Well worth it. I checked for an order number and I couldn't find one.

Everything was amazing with Mr. Cooper. We got to exactly where we wanted it to be. I've been through them before that's why I chose them again. The process was so freakin’ easy. I didn't have to go anywhere. I could talk to somebody over the phone, I could email everything in. All the documents were downloaded and sent. There was a little tracker thingy that I can see if I needed to do something or where I was at with the loan. It's idiot-proof. I liked the girl that I dealt with originally. They were all okay but she was really informative and very helpful.

Outstanding, professional, and personable service from Carter **, Rachel **, and Adrienne **. Prompt response, all options were reviewed, stayed in touch to guide me through the process, checked all previous documents to update and correct errors and because of this, I was able to receive a lower rate. All documents were reviewed, questions answered, issues were researched. I was always able to reach the team, Rachel followed up after the process was completed to be sure any questions or concerns were answered and gave contact info if there was anything I might need going forward. I worked with Franky ** and Angela ** to refinance my loan for a second time. The first time I refinanced, I had called them and asked them about it, but the second time, Franky called me and let me know that the rates had dropped again, and now was a great time to lower my payment again. Both Franky and Angela are great to work with and did a great job with my loan. I was so happy with the service I received that I bought some stock in Mr. Cooper. The stock value has increased since I bought it. The reason I bought the stock was because I had such an excellent customer service experience, and I felt that the people at Mr. Cooper understand that the way to find success and grow a business is by taking care of customers and doing what's best by them. If Mr. Cooper continues this trend, then I believe they have the potential to remain an industry leader in the loan business and hopefully their market share and value will continue to increase!

Nationstar/Mr. Cooper has been the BEST mortgage company that I have had the experience of working with...I have refinanced with them twice...effortless. All activity handled either electronically or they come to you. Customer service is top notch. If you have the ability to do business with them, I definitely recommend. Online bill payment is also super easy and direct. No multiple pages to get to what your goal is...click and pay. Year end docs as well as payment history, easy access as well. Payoff statements provided within days. Love them....Please don't sell my loan!!!

Lance and Beth both were above good. Helpful, nice and knowledgeable. Beth and I had problems with B of A. They were not helpful. She tried and then asked me to try because they would not talk to anyone but mortgage holder. She supported me through all of it and managed to get it all done in the proper timeframe.

We have purchased 2 homes and refinanced both of them through Mr. Cooper. We have also recommended them to our friends. They are a great company. The staff were very helpful and kept other informed on what was happening and what they needed to complete the transactions. The refinance took a little longer than expected due to it being a great interest rate to refinance. We could have gone through many other companies but chose to remain with Mr. Cooper.

Overall, working with Mr. Cooper has been good. Everyone was super-friendly and helpful. The process went fast and easy. The only thing that was an issue was the day that the notary was to come to the house. The scheduled appointment got changed a couple of times. Then, as of that morning, it got changed to a later time because she didn't have all the papers yet. So, I reached out to the guy that I was working with, and he reached out to them to try to figure out what was going on because everything had already been sent over. Other than that, the notary was very polite. It was just the schedule. The time kept having to change because she didn't have the paperwork she needed yet.

We had a loan with Mr. Cooper and it would be easier if we stayed with them. The people I've dealt with when refinancing were very good. The application process was pretty easy. Everything was online. The guidance they gave me was good and the process took about a month. Overall, it was pretty seamless and they did a good job. The interest rate went down a little bit. Also, we had a leak in our house and we needed a new roof and stuff. So we took out some more cash so that we could have it fixed.

I happened to notice an increase in my mortgage and I called to find out what was going on. Once that was settled, the person that I talked to noticed that I could do this or do that with a refinance if I wanted to check it out. I said, "Sure." That person was very good, courteous, friendly, and professional. The refinance didn't take more than three to four weeks. I was very satisfied. The refinance lowered my house payment. I also was able to pay off a couple of bills. It was just perfect timing.

Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of having a home loan is that your loan can be sold to companies with horrible customer service. That’s been my experience with Mr. Cooper. When my loan was sold to Mr Cooper, they mailed all of the information to the incorrect address and it was never delivered. So I continued to make payments to my original lender. When my original lender finally emailed me, I called Mr. Cooper right away to inform them that they had the incorrect address. They said that my loan was late because they had not received payment from me. I informed them that my payment had been going to the original lender. The customer service agent, Marie, was incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful.

The housing boom is driven by interest rates and how easy it is to get capital, and many people are refinancing in order to take advantage of lower rates. I've had good experience with Mr. Cooper and I decided to contact them first before going outside and pursuing other options. I refinanced and they communicated very well. They explained every step of the process and everything they said would happen happened. The guidance was very descriptive and informative. I didn't struggle or lack any information, and everything was very smooth and professional. Every time there was a new step or new information available, I was made aware and I was able to keep up and keep the process going. It was rather quick and painless.
They warned me the whole process was supposed to take up to two months. I did a bit of research and the news, media and so forth predicted two to three months because of the large volume of refinance. However, from the time I initiated until it closed, it took three weeks with Mr. Cooper. Even as compared with a refinance I did, it was better than years ago. 13 years ago, I refinanced a different house in a different state, and even without the huge volume, because of low interest rates, it was a two-month process. In the midst of all of the heavy rush, this was still a very fast process. I had a variable rate mortgage before as well, so I avoided the cost of interest rates that were about to go up as well as dropped my monthly cost.

They were able to lower my interest rate too. Also, the customer service people are friendly and every time they gave me information, it was always accurate.

I've got good credit history with Mr. Cooper. I also like the ease of the account. The service process was very easy and I dealt with two women. One took the process application and I got assumed to an agent. She worked with me all the way through. They answered phone calls right away and kept me with plenty of emails so I knew the steps that were going on. From start to finish, the process took 30 days. I dropped my interest rate to one and a quarter of a point and my payment dropped 300 a month.

We were very happy with everything that Mr. Cooper provided. But our experience with the closing was frustrating. We were asking for copies of the paperwork and it seemed to delay everything. The person that came to close with us told us there was a particular document that we didn't have to sign, and so we didn't. But then it slowed the process because we did have to sign it. Also, there were a couple of times when I made some phone calls to Mr. Cooper to inquire about things, and I did not get phone calls returned. But in the long run and overall, that aspect was good.
When we were talking about refinancing and then trying to get information about our loan in general as far as what we needed to do with making payments, one department doesn't seem to know completely what the other department might be doing. When I was trying to find out did we need to make that payment for that month or would we be finished with the closing before that payment came due, I couldn't really get a good answer from the mortgage loan department. The they referred me to someone in the payment department. So they had to call back and forth and then call us back to give us the information. That was a little bit frustrating. But overall, we've been very satisfied. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to somebody else.
Since we did the refinance so soon, the good benefit is that we haven't had to make a payment for the last month. Our first payment isn't till April, so we've been able to put back some money. Also, getting the lower interest rate is a wonderful bonus because we're gonna be able to pay the house off sooner than we had hoped.

I was once with American Portfolio and Mr. Cooper had required my mortgage from them. They sent me a notification saying that they will be the ones that I will have to do business with as far as my mortgage is concerned. Everything ran pretty smooth with those transitions. I felt comfortable working with them. They answered the questions that needed to be answered. They didn't give me any concerns about whether I should or should not refinance. If they couldn't give me the right answer, they direct me to someone who can give me the right answer. They gave me a better understanding on what I should do, at least in the position that I am at. It helped reinforce my final decision if I'm going through with that commitment, and how much I've been chipped out of.
The application process wasn't painful at all. It was not something that I had to jump through hurdles for. I got a lower interest rate and payment. I have had a pleasant experience. I hope, in the future, I can do more business with them as far as getting my first rental property because that's the next step that I'm working towards now.

Mr. Cooper has been good since the very first time our loan got transferred over there from Bank of America quite a few years ago. We've never had any negative interactions. Considering the promised interest rate and payment reduction, we refinanced and everything appears to be accurate. Everything was very professional, timely, and quick responses when we had questions as well.

The customer service was good until I got copies of my credit reports, and realized that back in 2014, they had put negative information on my credit report when the incident that happened back then was all their fault. They assured me that they fixed it but they didn't. I'm still waiting on them to fix it now. I would have had a better credit score if they didn't have the negative information on my credit.
What happened was I filed for bankruptcy, and they locked me out of my online account. Since I was paperless, I had no idea what was going on with my account. I got a thing in the mail telling me I can pay a certain amount of the escrow, and pay this amount, which I did. I sent their coupon, and I sent my check. Instead of applying it to escrow, they applied it to some other thing. So I was making the payment like I should have been if they would have applied it properly. But since they didn't, I was paying short.
When I was finally able to get onto my account, I saw this great big mess. It took me months and months and calls and calls and calls, but they really couldn't figure out how to do that 168 and put it into the escrow. So it was a big mess. It took a long time. They finally said they got it fixed. I told them it better not be reflected on my credit and they assured me it would not. But now, I see that it's on there. This incident has been a nightmare.

My existing mortgage was with Mr. Cooper, so I just refinanced with them. Their rep was very nice. I liked him a lot. He did a great job of getting me over to the loan processor. We stayed in communication mostly through emails and that was what I wanted. I didn’t know quite how to use their portal because I was doing everything on the phone. So I ended up emailing over most of my early documents like my pay stubs and all that kind of stuff. But overall, Mr. Cooper was excellent and the process went very smoothly. The rate and terms I got were all competitive.

I just bought a new car, prior to 2019 in December, then I lost my job in May. I had equity in the house. Rather than having a huge car payment and a house payment, I chose to combine the two and have one payment instead. I refinanced with Mr. Cooper and everything was extremely easy. They did a marvelous job and they answered every question upfront the best they could. They were upfront with everything.
When I first started the process, I was getting ready to go on vacation and that was for two weeks. The process may have taken a month or less but it could have been done a lot sooner. The vacation slowed down the process a little bit. The only thing with Mr. Cooper is I can't get online to make my payments. For whatever reason, I can never get signed on if I want to go in and look for my mortgage and how much interest I've paid for the year.

Everyone from Mr. Cooper was absolutely wonderful, very professional, and patient when I had all these questions. They kept us informed about everything that was going on timeframe-wise and expectations from us. It was a good experience. When I got down to the closing and after we had the representative come to our home and we signed the papers, I was trying to get in touch with the closing people to confirm that all the information was right. But it was a little bit difficult trying to get through to the right persons on that. In the end, after about three or four times, I finally got the right person. The process went perfectly without any hitches and it was very relieving and surprising that it only took about three weeks.

I decided to refinance for a lower rate. I called Mr. Cooper and told them they could do it and keep the mortgage or I could try someone else. They made me a good offer. Everything was telephonic and customer service was very polite and professional. Through the refinance, I lowered the interest rate by 2%.

In October of 2020 my husband attended a financial meeting that talked about the benefits of refinancing. We called our mortgage company, Mr. Cooper, and started the process. We were given two options. One would drop our payment about 100$ and it was no cost but a better interest rate than we currently had. The other would drop our payment almost 300$ a month and would only cost for an appraisal, about 650$ and also had a lower interest rate than what we currently had. We went with option 2. We paid the 650$ and had the appraisal shortly thereafter. About 2 months into it and lots of communication with our loan processor she just dropped off the face of the earth. I emailed and called for 1 week straight, no return email or call. I spent the next 2 weeks trying to get anyone on the phone to call me back. Left many voice mails and NOTHING. I have emails to back this up.
Finally on 2/3/21, nearly 4 months after initiating the refi, we were assigned a new loan processor. Well he answered our emails but it got even worse. We were set to close on 2/12/21 at 9am, he calls the day before to move our closing to 4pm on 2/12/21 due to IT issues. Our last email from him stated “all good, just have to hit print”. The next phone call we get is from our closing agent at 3:30 on 2/12/21 saying she hasn’t received the paperwork for closing. That’s right, no call from our loan processor, no email, no nothing. The closing agent told us the closing wasn’t going to happen. She is a third party agent, he didn't even have the decency to call us himself to tell us. Then it gets even worse.
Our loan processor finally emails us to tell us the great storm of the south has basically pushed our closing back even further to where we would have to basically start from the beginning and pay more money for an appraisal because ours is going to expire. The worst part of it is they take no responsibility for a refi taking 5 months, the lack of communication and their processor dropping the ball for weeks. We gave them everything they asked for immediately! Now here we sit no refi and out 650$. We will not be going with Mr. Cooper and I would advise you to do the same.

Refinancing with Mr. Cooper was extremely easy and I was able to watch every step of the process through the app. Everything I needed to do was there and it would prompt me. So, I could upload all the documents to the app exactly where they needed to go then it would tell me when everything had been approved. I had people calling me along the way just to make sure that I had a full understanding of everything that was going into the refinance. My original goal with refinancing was keeping my payment around the same while being able to take money out to finish our basement and lower our interest rate. We started a refinance with Mr Cooper February 2020. They made a total of 7 hard inquiries on our credit report in the last year. We have even managed to pay off $20k in debt over the last year with no new accounts opened or increases in amount owed to creditors. After 1 year and a $500 non refundable fee with 7 hard credit inquiries Mr Cooper has decided that it would be non beneficial to them to refinance. I do not take issue with the decision only with the time, money and 7 hard credit inquiries it took from me for Mr Cooper to make this decision.

I had a smooth experience with the rep at Mr. Cooper. Everything was simple and done online. I had no issues with communication and process. The benefits came up from the beginning when I went from 4 point something down to a 2.125, from 30 to a 15-year fixed.

Mr. Cooper sent me a refi thing and said that the interest rates were down, and I had paid over my time and said I could refinance if I wanted to. The reps from Mr. Cooper seemed good. Everything I asked them, they were on top of it, and I can't even remember if anything was ever said that didn't make sense. The only thing is they would say something to me, and then maybe call me again a few more days and say something else. It seemed like the whole thing took longer than I expected it to. But I was very comfortable working with them. We had several opportunities to go with somebody else, and even the interest rate was a quarter percent less, but we still chose to stay with them because we thought they were knowledgeable and very kind. We didn't feel that we wanted to jump out and go with somebody else. If you have the opportunity to get your house financed or refinanced through Mr. Cooper, you better jump on it.

I've had Mr. Cooper all the way back to CountryWide which was probably 20 years ago. I refinanced with them because I had an existing loan and I thought it would be an easier transition but I was mistaken. Everything went smoothly but I don't like the idea of doing everything through email and not being able to talk to a human to get my questions answered in a timely manner. It'd be two or three days before they call me back and if I happen to not be by the phone exactly when they call, I miss it and it's two or three more days. It slows down the whole process for me. That wasn't everybody that I dealt with but on the tail end of it.
We set it up for automatic deposit into my savings account or debit account. Somehow, they got it mixed up and sent it to the wrong Credit Union. That was a fiasco. They kept saying, "Just a couple of more days." The money had been deposited in somebody else's account so I felt that it was urgent. I was going through numerous people and everybody was putting the blame on the title company. It was like you needed to call this person and that person when they were supposed to handle all that, not me. I had to get my Credit Union involved and I don't know if I'd have ever got it straight if it wasn't from my Credit Union. This guy named Leslie with Mr. Cooper was a major help for me. He hung in there with me. I had covid and wasn't in any condition to deal with any of that. Once he found that out, he jumped on the ball.
I was checking my account every day and I never received it. I walked out my back door one day and there was an envelope lying in my driveway soaking wet. I opened it up and it was a check. I had no idea a check was even coming. One of the kids could have picked it up and put it in the garbage. You would have thought I would have had to sign for it 'cause it was a fat check. Other than that, we're good now. Even though I thought mine was bad, my next-door neighbor happened to do it about the same time and he went through more problems than I did.

The two people that I dealt with were really attentive. They listened to what I said and answered any questions that I had as quickly as they could. The only trouble I had was on my end trying to get on to the website and do the digital signing for the product. That was trying to get that done so we could expedite and get it done as quickly as possible. We had to email back and forth a couple different times to get the right loan number. The site wouldn't allow me to look at the loan number at first 'cause it kept on looking at the old loan number. We only had to have the one person come over and do the final documents. That was easier yet a little more difficult 'cause I wanted a little more explanation. But Mr. Cooper worked with me really well. They helped me get through it and got it done in a good fashion.

Mr. Cooper's reps kept me informed along the way. If I had questions, I had a direct number I can call. It’s great. When I was getting ready to refinance, I did kind of look around and see what the current market was offering. I saw one who is GLENN: Veterans Mortgage and I saw what they were offering. I did talk to them, but I wanted to talk to Mr. Cooper. They matched what the other company was offering. I didn't know they'd do that because I didn't know what Mr. Cooper offered. I just told them what the other company was offering, and the rep said, “Yeah, let me check with my underwriters,” and they let me know. Everybody I had contact with did a great job. When you normally try to go refinance, it’s all loopholes here and little red tape here. There’s none of that. It shocked me. It’s worry-free. I've already told a couple friends about Mr. Cooper. I said, “Hey, man. If you’re going to refinance or something, hey, check them out first.”

The girl I contacted first was Kristen and I had really good response from her. She worked with me really well. But I ran into some problems when I went to the guy that was the next step in the process. We could've solved a lot of problems had he reached out or called me back. I could have understood some of the functions or why I needed to send him certain documentation that they needed. He liked emailing me stuff, but I would have rather had him talk to me. We could've solved it in one phone call.
I'm 70 years old so I would sooner have somebody to talk to about something than I would through email. Other than that, I liked the process. The lady that came and did the final signing with us was really great up here too. She knew what she was doing. She was going through a refinance at the same time, so we had a lot of horror stories to tell each other. But this has been a very positive thing for me and my wife because we're really happy with what happened in the end results.

We’ve been with Mr. Cooper for over eight years. Everything was very professional during the refinancing. The rep we talked to on the initial call was very friendly. She led us in the right direction and I didn’t have pretty much any lag time when I asked questions. It was a great experience. Everyone I spoke with seemed like subject matter experts and all my questions were answered. The guidance I got from them was beneficial. We've been able to keep money in our home for other things and they took us down to maybe a $130 reduction each month. So it was quite a bit of saving. I told one of my friends who was looking for someone to refinance that we were happy with Mr. Cooper and she looked into it.

I've been a customer of theirs for many years and I've had no issues. The process was very quick and easy. There was the initial man that I reached out to then there was a woman over email. They were very helpful on the phone. The guy gave me the options when I first called of what was available to me. I thought for a couple of days and selected one. He sent me the documents to read over. For something done mostly online, it was pretty seamless. Once they needed a document, I tried very quickly to get the stuff to them. Although the customer service is good, I am not able to get resolve for errors made on my mortgage account. Taxes were assessed twice out of my escrow. I have spent a month trying to get this resolved so that I can refinance my mortgage loan but Mr. Cooper can not seem to get it together. I even went as far as contacting CoreLogic who sends out my Tax payments. I dont find this company trustworthy or able to handle my account.

Someone from Mr. Cooper called me and everything that they laid out sounded great, so I decided to do the refinance. Their reps were awesome. They gave me all the information that I needed and I was able to get in touch with them whenever I wanted, which was very important to make the process go smoothly. It was a great experience and I got a really good rate. Except for the million paperwork that I had to sign with the notary, I really appreciated that everything else was electronic, meaning they would sign everything online especially in a time like this. Both my husband and I were able to just go online, look at the paperwork, and sign it. We never planned on refinancing at all but the timing with Mr. Cooper was perfect. I just had a newborn a week ago. So, with the new rates and lower payments, this is really gonna help us out a lot. So I would definitely recommend Mr. Cooper.

Everything was good. I had FHA and was happy that I could refinance without having to give a bunch of paperwork and proof of income. It was a pretty easy process. The mortgage payment and the interest rate are lower.

I was contacted by an agent and he talked me through what the process would be. It was actually a smooth transition into the whole process. The reps stayed in constant communication with me. Every couple of days, or if there were documents submitted into my account on my profile, they would always send me an email and also reach out personally or through a phone call to make sure that I knew that they were there and what actions need to be taken. I was able to lock in a better rate which made a better payment. Overall, great customer service, an easy experience, and very knowledgeable people.

I've had Mr. Cooper for a while and everything's been fine. The refinance went smoothly and it did not take very long at all. We went through the whole process within 30 to 60 days and everybody was great.

Mr. Cooper sent me a number of notes. I was receiving different notes at the same time from other companies. I figured I would start with my current lender. I had an initial conversation with an operator. We put the numbers together, looked at the different options and made some selections. He forwarded that application once I decided what I wanted. And then, it was picked up by another operative in a different location. We went through the process online and over the phone until we got everything approved and everything where it needed to be. I was able to skip a payment. That was nice. And I've been able to lower what I'm required to pay monthly, although I will probably keep my same payment when they resume in March. Because I had such a good experience, I called Mr. Cooper about looking at my parents' home for a possible refinance.

I can't comment on their origination services as they bought my loan already in progress. Based on my experience though I would never consider this company for a new loan or a refinance. They have been terrible about paying my taxes and insurance on time. The payments squeak in just under the wire for the grace period. I understand that such a practice makes the company money since they hold on to the escrow money longer, but it is an unethical way to handle that money.
They also have a poorly designed website. I have been paying extra each month to get my mortgage out from under these people. I looked at the amortization schedule to see that my loan would be paid off in (example here not actual) August 2021. So I went to the payoff calculator and asked it when it would be paid off if I paid an extra $100 a month. The answer: June 2022. The payoff calculator doesn't use the actual loan balance! Customer service claimed that was because they use a third party service to provide their calculators. That answer is bogus. If Mr Cooper provides the calculator the wrong starting balance, the calculator cannot be expected to provide the right answer, and providing the correct information to the calculator via the API, is the job of Mr Cooper's IT staff.
I am done with this company. I have requested a payoff quote (something they require you to pay for if you want it online, I opted to force them to mail it to me to avoid yet another fee). I will never intentionally get another loan with them, no matter what name they change to, and in the future if a loan should be sold to them, I will re-fi right out of it immediately.

One of my loans was acquired by Mr. Cooper so they assumed the mortgage from a different lender. I wanted the opportunity to get lower rates and potentially take years off the mortgage. I got good guidance and information. I got a lower rate. I have done some other refinancing in the past year. That was a drawn out, convoluted process, but Mr. Cooper made it easy and quick. I would consider using them in the future.

My loan was bought by them a few years back, they are very shady and we have had nothing but problems with them. I have seen there are class action law suits against them and we also have opened a case against them with the state. Do not voluntarily choose this company, that is my advice.

I have my mortgage with Mr. Cooper for 12 years. When I spoke to the gentleman that did the refinancing for me, he said that the amount that was on my escrow account was going to be refunded back to me. Then I realized that it was applied to the new escrow account. So I had gotten a quote from you guys about three months back. I didn't go with it because the interest rate was higher. But I was going to get that money credited back. Then on this one, I didn't realize it. I trusted him but unfortunately, he lied to me. I should have known better and I should have doubled check the documents. I could have gotten a better loan but I wanted to stay with Mr. Cooper. I wanted to get rid of the mortgage insurance premium and go with a conventional loan, but that required more work.

Mr. Cooper was my mortgage company and I went to refinance with them. It was fast and good. Everything was great. I just had a few questions after the loan was funded, and it seemed like once everything was done, it was hard to get anybody to get back to me in a timely manner. But it all worked out. I reduced my monthly by almost 500 a month, which was my goal. And then, got a little cash out, lowered my interest rate a bit. So, I achieved everything I wanted to achieve.

I was comfortable with Mr. Cooper. This isn't the first time I've done something with them and everything has been good, so far. The rep, in the beginning, was good and knowledgeable. Then he turned the information over to another rep who handled everything through email. The interest rate and terms I received were competitive. I would have obviously loved for it to have been lower. Other than that, everything was to be expected and I didn't have any issues.

The website was refreshing, and my first call to someone was pleasant. But that's about all the good things I can recall about this company. The person I spoke to gave me the wrong info. on my escrow account and monthly payment. They even got the wrong answer in writing. Resulted in my shortage on escrow fund. I sent in $10,000 in Oct. between payment due dates and specified all $10,000 go towards principals only. Of course they took it to apply to interest and again didn't do it right. Almost 4 months later they still haven't sort out my $10,000 payment towards principal & escrow account has 2x the fund needed for the entire year in Jan. Sent in multiple requests, last one 1/7. Now 1/20 just got a notification that they have "received" my inquiry & "will" look into it. Inefficient. They seem to make a lot of mistakes in calculations & applying funds to the right places. I'm looking to refi with another. I don't recommend.

It's frustrating that I had to contact them twice until I received the letter of delinquent taxes from my county, and I didn't get help yet. It's now under collection. We're paying on time and did not miss any payment, and they missed our tax payment. That's so so bad. I'm planning to refinance and move our account away from Mr. Cooper.

My loan was sold to Mr. Cooper and I am satisfied with them thus far so it made sense to refinance with them. Sometimes, it feels a little aggressive but I understand why that is. You have to be ready for that because they definitely keep in touch with you, ask for things and expect things. They have a very streamlined process and they're on top of it. It seems to work because this moved along quickly and that's a good thing in the end. Right now, the payment being cheaper is good too. They met my expectations and I definitely have been pleased. Things are going smoothly and that's all I can ask for.

I filled out my application September 3. It is now January 13 and I have not been given a closing date. Every time I call, leave a message. No one will call me back. My first loan processor gave me two closing dates. Each time nobody called and nobody showed up. I have been calling every week since September and when I talk to somebody they will say, "I would check on it and give you a call back" but they never do so. I am very dissatisfied with the service that I have gotten from Mr. Cooper. Very poor customer service. They have changed my interest rate lock-in four times, I would not recommend them.

Mr Cooper contacted me one day in regards to their current home loan refinancing rates which were far better than my current mortgage loan rate. I started the process of refinancing on 12.04.20 and the entire process was completed on 12.19.20! Along the way Mr Cooper loan office communicated regularly and professionally. I also really liked the electronic signing of all documentation required for refinancing. Never ever dealing with this company again. Paid my 20% of loan for the pmi to be removed. It’s been 2 months and still shows the same amount as before. Called them 10 times. Every time I get different answers from them. Looks like they don’t know what they doing. Really frustrating. Called to talk to manager and they say they will have the manager call. But never received the call.

OMG, the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a mortgage company. Don't ever ask them to expedite a payoff to you. They charge $25 to fax, yes I said fax (what century are they living in) a payoff to you and twice I did not receive it. So I'm out $50 which they will not credit me back for. Their employee Christopher ** just quoted me their rules and basically said; tough luck, not going to help you! I can't believe this company can get away with this. The worst I have ever experienced.

The service was good, but when I refinanced with Mr. Cooper, I had to go out for competitive bids to get the best rate that they could offer. I'm an excellent customer. I have always fulfilled all my obligations for my mortgages. I don't understand why I couldn't get the best rate to start. I was interested last year. I refinanced my primary home and got a much better rate than I started out with. And I'm interested in looking at refinancing my investment home to see if I can improve that rate. It's high right now and I'm not sure why.
The service has been good. The refinancing process was easy. There were times when there was an urgency that I didn't understand. And a lot of the requests came in the middle of my workday. So, it was that combination of being an urgent request and one that I had to drop my obligations to fulfill was sometimes stressful. But the fact that everything was available online made it easier.

I had no choice in the matter, my mortgage was sold to this awful company. It is virtually impossible to speak to a human being as their phone tree is designed to dispatch you automatically. The transfer is still causing me to waste time trying to track down an insurance payment. My local insurance agent is on the verge of cancelling my policy. I finally talked to a person at the Mr Cooper that said it was all worked out. Not so. Yet another round of wasted time trying to deal with their insane subhuman phone tree. Don't try messages via their slick web interface as they simply respond with autoresponders. I am now trying to compile names and numbers of people I talk to as this is likely now entering civil litigation territory with their incompetence. Yet another huge company that has lost the personal touch.

It was super easy to refinance an existing mortgage through Mr. Cooper. Their agents were friendly and helpful. I had so much built-up equity so I did a cash-out refinance. Both the closing agent and the guy who first started the process were wonderful. I also use the app to manage quite a bit of the process. The whole process was seamless and easy to manage.

Mr. Cooper's reps were very informative and helped out greatly through the process. They have the website, so everything was done through there. They also explained that I should go through there if I had any questions or reach out to them, plus they gave me their direct number. The whole purpose of the refinancing was to get the monthly payments lower, and they are. So, that's a good thing. All in all, I would tell my friends that they should get a mortgage from Mr. Cooper if they could.

So far, so good. There was a mixup on the automatic pay but that's taken care of. It takes a while for them to process but I checked and it's being paid. Someone had called me at 9 o'clock at night which I thought was rude but that was the only time I ever felt that I experienced anything that was kind of unprofessional. We have our Primary home loan with this company; we have excellent credit and employment history. We provided the requested documents to refinance our loan with this company in Sept 2020. We provided all of the requested documents immediately, and whenever there was a question about anything, we responded promptly (within hours or one day at the longest). We chased down the appraiser and paid for the appraisal back in early October and there were no issues with the appraisal either. I have been following up with the Loan rep frequently. Today is December 29, 2020, and can you believe that our loan has not yet closed? It's been 100 days. I have friends and relatives who have refinanced in the past few months, and no one's loan takes this long.
I think they just may not have enough staff to do the work (loan processors and underwriters). Additionally the loan closer seems to be inexperienced- based on the questions he is asking, we can tell there is a lack of understanding of some general life and financial issues. When I complained to management, they became very defensive of their loan process and processor. When I called customer service this morning, I asked how long it takes to refinance, and I was told that re-financing takes "30 days". Really?! Think twice about using Mr. Cooper.

We refinanced twice. They told us what interest rate we could get and they sent us the papers. It wasn’t a long drawn out thing. It was a good amount of time. However, the reps could be better with their knowledge of refinancing. We were trying to get some money on our house and they didn't know why we couldn't and when we will be able to. We have things we want to do and they just keep saying, “You can't right now.” We have plenty of lenders contact us and they would say they would give us money on our house, but at the time we had just refinanced with Mr. Cooper.

When we realized that the rates were so low, we contacted them and asked what they could do and they dropped the rate down. Scott called me back and he kept me informed throughout the whole process. I really liked the website that we could go to and it would tell us if there was anything we needed to upload. When I started getting paperwork online, the estimate was different than what we talked about. So I called Scott right back and he apologized and it was fixed. They were very responsive with any concerns I had and they were able to explain the questions. It was great. We were previous customers and when they were Nationstar, it was like a nightmare for a customer. But now that they're Mr. Cooper, their website and customer service are great.

Mr. Cooper reached out to us and said that there was an error on our mortgage when they acquired it and needed it to be fixed. They were kind of pushy about needing to get it done by a certain date. I don't believe that that was the truth. They did it to us twice. The first time they did it, we were in a panic thinking something was wrong with our VA loan because that was what they told us. We reached out to our mortgage attorney and told her what was happening. She got involved in that first one. But she said it was a good deal and told us to do it. That was about a year after they had purchased our mortgage. Then, just this last month or so, they called and tried to pull that again. It was the same sales pitch that something was wrong with the mortgage and with some of the paperwork. They said we don't have to have an appraisal and that nothing comes out of our pocket.
It's a little shady how they try and get you to refinance. They could call and say the rates are a lot lower and say what they could do instead of making me panic - overthinking that something was wrong with my mortgage. But they did what they said they were going to do. We got a lower rate, nothing came out of our pocket, and we got cash back at the end. Also, everybody was very nice and helpful. They answered questions that we had. And their app is great to use. I could just go in, make my payment, and go on with my day and not worry about it. That's very nice.

The experience was great with Mr. Cooper. They did a wonderful job. We were very happy with it. Right now, my son has applied for a loan through the same company. So far, he's having a good experience. They put him on with somebody to contact him back and forth. All of a sudden, nothing was happening. Apparently, the guy was no longer with the company right in the middle of his transaction. Then, they finally put another girl who is helping him. Hopefully, he'd get his house refinanced too.

Mr. Cooper is my existing mortgage company. I wasn't really terribly interested in shopping elsewhere. I did look around a little bit, but it's just so much easier to kind of stick with the company I was with. They quoted a good rate that I thought was going to allow me to lower my term and still afford it and wasn't very much more than my existing payment on my 30-year. I got it down to a 15. I just went with it without any further shopping elsewhere.
The customer service team did pretty well. I dealt with a guy named Scott who was my initial contact that quoted me the rate, and then I kind of talked to him towards the end. He was more of the salesperson or facilitator to get things rolling. The actual person that was sort of working the file and calling me periodically about things I needed to fill out and stuff like that was very good and very knowledgeable and was making sure I did things, even though I had a busy work schedule. If something would slip my mind, she called and reminded me.
She was a little talkative but not in a bad way. She's nice. But when I would get on the phone, she kinda go on and on with a lot of details that weren't probably important for me to know. These are details about logistics and how things are done on her end. I think it was just more of a nervous habit or sort of filling up there on the phone. A lot of times, I couldn't get a word in at times. But it wasn't bad. She could probably be a little better with the conversationalist aspect of the job, but she was never unpleasant. It's just sometimes the calls went on so long. I just wanted to be done.
It is a very technical job. So, I could totally understand some of the stuff she was sharing to try to help me and understand the importance of certain forms or what next steps wer. Its just at times, I would get calls, and they're for about a week and a half when we were kind of in an end process. They have certain deadlines and things they're trying to hit. It's just like the calls were frequent. But she was sweet, and I don't think anybody would ever really make any decision negative about the company because of her.
The only thing I don't really like about Mr. Cooper is the name is so stupid. Maybe it's because I'm an old guy. Nationstar Mortgage sounds a little more legit. You're going to Mr. Cooper and I'm like, "I wouldn't want to borrow money from just a dude." Then he would call my loan or close my house. Maybe that works really good for the young people. I know that they don't always market to people like me that will be leaving this earth at some point. They're more for probably the people who are first buying a house. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other people. Overall, I got a much better rate. That's why the payment was not much more despite the much shorter term.

Mr. Cooper reached out to me, said they were looking at my mortgage, and that they could do better for me. I was very thankful for that and they were all great. They were very professional and it couldn't have been a more painless process. Everything was done electronically until we had to sign the final papers. Then, the gentlemen that came to the house took all the necessary safety precautions, being in a pandemic. So, it was a very easy process and I would tell others to give them a chance. I realize everybody's situation is different but I would not have any hesitation in recommending Mr. Cooper to anybody.

My overall experience with Mr. Cooper was really good. The originator pretty much went out of his way to make it work. Originally, on the numbers he gave me, I was like, “No, no, no.” Then, I got a competitive offer and he matched it. It actually wound up working out better in the long run. I was kind of hoping the interest rate would be a little bit lower, but that's okay. It's lower than it was. All in all, I got really good, personal service. There was not an excessive amount of phone tag. I understand the things being the way they are. There were a couple of phone calls that I got that were from home. There are extenuating circumstances, and calls don't get immediately answered. But it was an easy process all around. This is the only time I've ever closed a mortgage and wasn't stressing out about it.

Mr. Cooper currently services my mortgage. I figured I'd give them a try to refi my home, after 3 months we were still at the appraisal process despite my regular phone calls, quick submission of required documentation, etc. The loan officer would take weeks to get back to me on simple questions. The manager lacked knowledge or empathy whatsoever. Things really turned for the worse when they were accepting edits to my appraisal that were significantly altering the description and value of my home, all while nit picking other mundane issues. Nothing passed the smell test and ultimately the entire process fell through right before the 90 day mark. Stay clear of this company.

We wanted to get a lower interest rate and we checked around and we decided to stay with them. They were very, very good with us. Any questions we had, they were able to transfer. We were able to do our application, and everything was done really fast. We were very pleased. They were very experienced. They knew what they were talking about and they would do anything to try to help you, depending on your circumstances.

The guy really helped me out. He was very thorough. The option that I had was pretty much straightforward. I was able to save about two months for payment and a lower payment. So it went down to about 100 bucks, but overall, it helped saved money.

My mortgage was sold to Mr. Cooper quite a few years ago now. I got a letter from them and I decided to refinance. Everything was pretty smooth. They were very informative. I can't say the same for the providers that they use for the closing, but they were fine. Since refinancing our loan, we kept our payments the same, and shortened our term by five years.

I recently got transferred to Mr. Cooper, the last two payments I sent to my previous mortgage company never got applied to my new account. my previous bank sent the money to them weeks ago but Mr. Cooper cannot locate the funds or apply the payments to my account. Since it has been more than 2 months, they will start charging late fees and reporting to credit bureaus. Called more than 10 times and all they tell me is that I have to wait, but the 60 day transfer period is already expired and my money cannot be located. Worst experience ever.

We had a loss of income due to COVID. I was already a Mr. Cooper customer, so I went through them again. Their reps were good. Our payment went up, but we paid off a bunch of credit card bills with it. I would recommend them.

I would not recommend Mr. Cooper. They were very poor in answering questions and the follow through was very poor too. Also, it's not necessarily a good thing that I probably get about 10 pieces of mail a month from Mr. Cooper. I get phone calls and emails all the time about refinancing. They should tone it down a little. The first guy I talked to, after I initially talked to him and he said he would be my contact, very quickly handed me off to the person who was processing it. Anything she said she was going to do did not happen. I had zero follow-up from her. I probably had to make six follow-up phone calls. She was out of the office or there was a voicemail that said, "You can contact my leader." I never heard anything from her. I never heard back from the other person either. I was like a full week past the date where she said that I'd receive the funds. That's mildly unprofessional.
She had a lot of things where she didn't know. If that's the person who the customer is working with, they should have the answers especially those are very easy, normal questions as it ties to a home loan. Based on the service from her and the other gentleman, I thought about backing out at least six times through the process. But I think very highly of the fact that Mr. Cooper is investing in the money of changing that customer service. That's phenomenal.

Has to be the worst bank/mortgage company in existence. My loan was sold to them and has been a nightmare. I am working on a refi now and willing pay higher interest rate just to get away from them. That should tell you something.

When we called to make a payment on our mortgage, Mr. Cooper said that they could probably help us out. They started working and seeing what they could do for us and then they told us that we could do a refinance. It's only been about a month since we've done the refinancing and the experience has been great, so far. Mr. Cooper helped us out a lot. We really like them.

Mr. Cooper holds an unsubstantiated lien on my house which has been paid off since 2015. I have talked to at least 20 customer reps since this company will not provide you a contact to follow up with. Over the last 2 months I have explained my situation over and over and over to whoever the next customer rep is to answer the phone. Sometimes the reps will forward to the escalations department who are never helpful.
It's been a series of lies, deceit, and coverups. Always a promise of a return call with some answers and it never happens. It is actually incredibly unbelievable that there is a company of this size that can be under such a shroud of underhandedness to their customers. They have caused me to lose a real estate transaction because of this illegal lien and they could care less. I have sent a detailed email to numerous departments and even to their CEO. None of which was answered in any way. I wouldn't expect the employees to care if the CEO doesn't. This company only cares about collecting debt from people who refuse to pay their bills and ignore those who pay timely.

I had Mr. Cooper once I did my refinance and the rates were within the realm that I wanted to drop down to. My parents also have them as a mortgage broker. Their reps are very good, timely and very intuitive in regards to their responses and they helped me get the best rate I could get. They got back to me very quickly and they were very quick to be able to give me info if I needed anything. I was able to get my mortgage down from what it originally was refinancing with them. Overall, the experience was very hassle-free, to the point, and there were second-guessing or worrying that we would not get the right deal. They were very helpful throughout the whole process.

My son was buying a house. I heard what the rates were, which were lower than what I had, so I figured I'd ask. I found the reps from Mr. Cooper to be knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They were also transparent and informative. The refinancing has gone into effect in that my December payment did not have to be made, but there was an issue in terms of the escrow since I did not want to escrow my homeowners insurance. They did that. There may have been a mistake in communication. When I inquired and told them I did not want to escrow my homeowners insurance, they went ahead and discontinued my entire escrow, including my taxes, which is fine. I did not mind escrowing my taxes.
I make my payments through the website and the last couple of times I checked, it still shows me the amount of payment that I have to make includes escrow not only for insurance, but also for taxes. So I'm not sure exactly what's going to happen when I make my payment 'cause I'm not gonna include the escrow amounts in there. All in all, it's a positive experience. Mistakes happen. This mistake didn't cost me money, but I want to make sure that I don't pay less than I'm expected to pay. I don't want it to affect my credit.

Looking at all the information related to refinancing, the rates were all comparable. I felt it would be easier to stay with the company we had our mortgage with and work with them. It went easily. It went quick. We had our application in and closed within four weeks. Our previous loan was with Mr. Cooper, so that helped make it a little quicker. The website was easy to use and the first person we talked to prepped everything up for us. We then had another person get involved and they got through. It was more confirmation on documentation. We got that set then finally, the loan person went through all the information. We got set up for closing and done. The woman was very good too.

Mr. Cooper had a lot of advertisements about their rates and how far down they had come. I followed up with them to see what their rates were like. I refinanced with them and that was really easy for me. I just needed to give them my W-2 forms and my 2019 taxes. I had an appraisal done back in February so they said I didn't have to do another one. It was really quick. I got it done in three weeks, which to me was unheard of. Vi was mostly my contact and she followed through with questions that I had. Her boss called too to make sure everything was okay. He followed up even after the closing was completed to make sure I didn't have any questions. They did a good job. After the refinance, I got a much better rate.

Mr. Cooper has always been a really good company for us. I've been with them for however long we’ve had the loan. We were paying them private mortgage insurance which we didn't need and the only way we could get it off was to refinance. We tried to do it a couple of years ago but our house wasn't appraising to the value we wanted it to, and so we backed out. This time around, it did so we went for the refinance.
We communicated with the lady who did our loan but it was so easy to go online. Mr. Cooper had this new app where we could do everything online and it was awesome. We would just log in to our account and there were tasks we had to do and we just clicked on them. It was a new thing for me to learn because I was not a techie person. But it was really cool how fast and easy it was. When I had questions, I just called the lady and she was really helpful. She wanted me to take a picture of something but my iPad wasn't loading it for some reason. So, she told me to get this app that you could scan a document and then email it to her. Once I got it, it was pretty easy.

I spoke with three people. Amanda was the one who first reviewed my application. Then I was turned over to Abby, who called me every four to five days to update me. Jonathan was from the notary who I interacted with. It was an excellent experience. They were there to support me. They readily answered my calls and got back with me with an answer if they couldn't answer it. They made it really easy to fill out the paperwork online, do my signatures online, and then they had the agent to come to my home so that I didn’t have to get out, especially in this day and age of the virus. That was real beneficial to me because I have some preexisting health conditions.
The closing amount that I needed was changed. Even the night before, I was a little bit not understanding. Because I was reading my documents online and it had one closing cost there. So I didn't know what the specific amount would be until the morning that I was going to sign my papers. But they can't project a set amount until you get to closing. So that was not their fault. It's just part of the process. I have talked to some of my friends who were looking at refinancing their homes that are not with Mr. Cooper. But I explained to them how I felt about Mr. Cooper, and that I would be happy to give them the number to call if they chose to go that path.

Since Mr. Cooper bought our mortgage from another company, we fave had nothing but problems. The latest being late statements from Mr. Cooper when we already paid and on time. We pay online through our bank. We have done this for 20 years w/ our prior mortgage co on this home, with never a problem. We have received two late payment from Mr. Cooper showing we did not pay prior month. My husband had to finally charge on his credit card the mortgage payment. My husband has spent valuable hours going to our bank and talking w/ Mr. Cooper. Well, it happened AGAIN. We have plenty of funds in our bank and our credit rating is excellent! ThUS NEVER HAPPENED W/ OUR PRIOR MORTGAGE-COMPANIES USING THE SAME SYSTEM WE HAVE ALWAYS USED. Please rectify. You can call He for loan information etc.

We're an older couple and we don't quite get some things that people explained to us. But Katie was excellent. She just talked a bit fast and I finally told her that she gotta go slower. So she did and we got a good rapport. She was right on top. Anything that we don't know, we call and we get excellent service. If we didn't understand, they go back and explain to us until we got a clear understanding of each part of the process. We've had an excellent experience. Because of our age, there were a lot of things we didn't know and understand, but now we know. We know what's going on.

Everyone was doing a refinance so I jumped on the bandwagon. I did mine with Mr. Cooper as I figured it was going to be simpler to go with what I have rather than start looking around. There wasn't that much communication and everything was mostly handled over emails. We had a few conversations but everything was really simple and straightforward that there wasn't really that much need for too much conversation.
My refinance has significantly reduced the number of years it's going to take me to pay off the loan. That's the beneficial part of it. It kind of made me feel stupid that I didn't do the refinance sooner because it was so easy and it didn't take too long at all. It was really simple. I had a professional, efficient, and speedy experience.

Mr. Cooper is my current mortgage holder. We inquired to refinance because of the lower interest rates and we were doing a bathroom project. I thought that it was going to be an easier process with Mr. Cooper but it turned out to be pretty arduous. I applied in July and over the next four or five weeks, we really hoped to be moving right along. Then somewhere around the beginning of September, I simply stopped hearing from my first loan processor.
I had to go back and reengage with my initial mortgage originator. She was great, very professional, and very responsive. She would communicate with me regularly by email and telephone. I don't expect people that I talk to to have all the answers but I expect them to check in and tell me that they're still waiting on them and that they're working on it. And she was able to do that. But the other gentleman, who the refinancing was assigned to, did not. It had to be reassigned and then escalated so that I could close to meet my contractor's deadline. I was really unhappy.
