I've used Mr. Cooper for a long time and they've always been good. We were happy with them, so we inquired about refinancing. It was all good dealing with their reps. The lower payment was the biggest benefit we got from the refinancing.

Mr. Cooper bought my loan from my last loan company and I've been with them for the last two years. I called them up and said I was interested in refinancing. They quoted me a lower interest rate. They set up the dashboard on their website and I followed through there. With the refinance, I got a significantly lower monthly payment. Overall, Mr. Cooper was simple, straightforward, and well-organized. And the times I spoke with customer service went well.

Have been a mortgage customer for several years. Found out recently that my LTV was below the 78% needed for PMI to be automatically terminated per federal guideline. I wrote them a letter to inform them of this but they still refuse to get rid of it.

Our mortgage was sold to Mr. Cooper in 2018, and immediately there were problems. From the hour wait times to speak with a customer service rep, to the “call-back” that never happens, customer service is terrible. When Covid hit our family, we asked to refinance and we’re approved. Mr. Cooper told us that no payments were to be made during the process and it would all be added to the refinance, given assurances that it would not be reported. The payments were ALL reported to the credit bureaus as missed.

I had been getting messages and phone calls from Mr. Cooper about refinancing and I wasn't interested. When I thought about it, it was lower interest rate but I didn't want to do the 30 years, but I ended up doing the 30-year again. I loved the application process. It was so much easier than the first time and the whole thing was really quick in just a couple of days.
Everybody that worked with me was amazing, very understanding and very knowledgeable. I talked to two people and both of them were really helpful and walked me through stuff. I already knew exactly what I wanted and I asked other questions about the 15 and then the other one where it would come out automatically. They were really friendly and great to work with. I was impressed with every step and how fast the process was. With the refinancing, I didn't have to make my mortgage payment for December and I got some money back. I'm gonna have a smaller payment from now on.

Mr. Cooper did a great job and they took good care of us. Everything went well. The application was easy and the guy I worked with was awesome. We went through the steps and whenever we were missing some information, they followed up with me quickly and I was able to get it to them very quickly. The refinance took about six weeks and I was fine with it. It was great timing. The interest and rate terms were great. We were very pleased. Mr. Cooper saved us a lot of money.

My loan was with Mr. Cooper. One of the workers informed me about the streamline and how easy it was so I decided to do it. Everything was good. The process from beginning to end was within 30 days, which was not long. I am very satisfied. I also received a good rate.

The rep, Sheldon, was a great guy and it was nice to work with him. I was quite satisfied with the rates and terms. It has only been a month since doing the refinancing but I'm really happy. Everything went smoothly and it helped that I had good credit.

We've had our mortgage through Mr. Cooper since it was transferred several years ago and we stayed with them as it was easier to refinance through my existing mortgage company. We received good guidance during our refinance. I had two reps. The first one was really good while the second was fine. He talked really fast and needed to slow down.
The only thing was it would have been nice to have a clear handoff instead of just a phone call from the new guy that said, "I'm so and so. And I'm gonna be handling your loan from now." It was just a little bit scary at that point. But I could tell that the new guy really was legit so it was fine. It was just that hands-off piece could be a little bit smoother.
That aside, people should try refinancing with Mr. Cooper or try getting a mortgage through them. I told a couple of people that already. I told them how easy my situation was. But their question is always, "Is it that easy? Because you already have them as the servicer." I usually just say, "Yeah, probably." Also, the benefit of our refinance was shortening the life of my loan to 15 years from a 30-year loan.

I've dealt with Mr. Cooper before. They were good. I'm old and I don't know a whole lot so I need to call and ask them questions. Their reps respond except that every time I called the one that I was supposed to call, I could never get her. That always went to voicemail. I couldn't wait to talk to anybody. I had to wait for them to call me. That was mostly the aggravating thing. She wouldn't say anything to me. Other than that, I got a lower interest rate and my payment was lower. Mr. Cooper has been good to me and I love them.

I did a refinance with Mr. Cooper and it took a long time. They weren't too excited to help me out. The customer service was friendly but they weren’t efficient. I was never sure where I was at and I tried to follow the progress along with it. I had to call managers and supervisors and they had to get involved to find out where the process was. I had to have two appraisals done because it wasn't done in a timely manner. I'm not happy with that but I'm happy with the interest rate although it isn't Mr. Cooper’s doing. I probably wouldn't recommend anyone at this point in time to refinance or get a loan because it was a hit and miss thing.

We've been with Mr. Cooper for years and we never had any problems with them. We refinanced because the rates were really low. Our rep was Armando and he was perfect. Refinancing with Mr. Cooper was fairly simple. We got the rates we wanted, and then especially in the time of COVID, someone with the paperwork just showed up at our house and we signed everything and got it done. Also, our monthly payment is lower.

We had an existing mortgage with Mr. Cooper and we thought that it would be a good time to refinance since the interest rates were dropping. Everything was easy. Their reps were very helpful and available anytime we needed them and they answered all of our questions. We have shortened the term of our loan and the monthly payment is $150 less each month. We've just finalized everything recently. We skip a payment or two on our mortgage and it's a little bit of extra money in the bank right now. We had a great experience with Mr. Cooper. I would recommend them.

Mr. Cooper already has my loan and I always try to give the company that I'm with, the first opportunity to meet or beat the rate that has been offered to me. But we had a little hiccup on timing. We had scheduled for one time, then we had to get it because the paperwork wasn’t out on time. Then we had to reschedule but I had already planned my schedule around that part of the closing. But then when they did get the paperwork on time, they said that it was gonna be on a Monday. Then it wasn’t on a Monday and had to change it back to Tuesday. I had to work around my wife's schedule 'cause she was working days and nights and then she had to be there. And the way the schedule was being changed made things a little complicated.
Mr. Cooper should be professional about it. If they are gonna have a closing date, they should make sure that they have what they need to do it. Don't try to get it all done in the day that you're trying to get the closing. Other than that, everything else was great. The rep came in and did what we needed to do. He was polite and he did try his best to get here when he did. It was all professional despite the small circumstance that occurred.

There was news saying refinancing is low and so I called Mr. Cooper and they said, “You gotta wait certain amount of months or days and call back.” I did. They said they would call me back, but I’d called back earlier before they could call me back. It seemed easier to go with Mr. Cooper because I already was with them and I didn't mind the way their customer service was. Their app is very convenient and easy. If I need to get ahold of someone, it's not difficult.
Mr. Cooper wanted certain documents and then the day of closing, they wanted more documents. But before the day of closing, I asked, “Is there anything else I need to give you guys before the day of closing?” They said, “No, you're good.” This is from the loan officer. Also, on the day of closing, we had to spend hours trying to get some tax forms and some old W-2s and it was kind of a hassle. But Mr. Cooper already had all my documents and if they needed anything else, they asked and sent it right away and didn't ask for any more documents. Then someone came to my house. We signed all the paperwork again. It was really smooth.
With the way it is around here right now, I don't know if there was anything that could have been improved. It was as minimal contact of a person as possible, and the person that came to our house was masked and had all everything ready to sign. I was just looking for a lower percentage but didn't have to pay for November, so that was kind of a nice benefit. I am just waiting to pay for my December payment now. So, it gave me a breather. I didn't know I was gonna get it. I was expecting the lower APR.

Everybody at Mr. Cooper was great. When I had questions, the reps were very diligent to answer them. I didn't have issues with lack of knowledge or with getting my paperwork done. What would take place in terms of a lower rate was explained to me. Being with Mr. Cooper was a very rewarding experience for me. I got several offers for refinancing and I was a little hesitant because I didn't really understand a lot about rates and the market. I called in to find out and they were very giving. They put everything in place from the best loan for me to the best options. When I asked them if that loan would be something they would do for themselves, they were very honest. This is my second refinance with Mr. Cooper. If I should do it again, they will be my choice.

We've always had Nationstar, and then Nationstar changed to Mr. Cooper. It could get a little confusing at times, but our experience was good. Most of the reps tend to work really hard to get you the best deal and explain things. One of them went just kind of along for the ride. Otherwise, the other two guys were really good. Refinancing with Mr. Cooper did lower my interest rate. From the original one when we bought the house a couple years ago to now, it lowered it half a point percent. Mr. Cooper is a decent company to go through. They very trustworthy and straightforward. They didn't hide any of the fees. They told us upfront what they were going to be for the transactions and for transferring escrows. What we really value is honesty.

We had the first mortgage with Mr. Cooper. I wanted to consolidate two credit cards. I worked with Robert and Katie. Katie was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Robert was good, but Katie answered some of my questions a little bit better. They took my information, and then they gave me information. And then I decided, “Okay, we want to go this way, not that way.” Now, I don't have any credit card bills. We had almost $1,000 taken out of our escrow account to pay someone else’s homeowner’s insurance premium. We have contacted (as has our insurance agent) Mr. Cooper several times asking the status of the refund going back to our account. When we call, we get one story and when our agent calls, she gets another story. We are told each time to give them 5-7 days to get the money back to our account. They took the money from our account in June 2020, and we are still waiting for the refund. We have called at least ten times and still have no money in our account. We keep getting the runaround on whose fault it is the money was taken to begin with. At this point, it is very poor customer service on their part. We will be contacting an attorney to see what our next steps are.

I began the refinance process on my home August 2020. There were several mistakes that I incurred with the loan processor within the first couple weeks. He made many errors on my loan paperwork. He also didn’t submit all of my income documentation that I submitted. Shortly after I gave them the amount of the cash out I wanted he told me I couldn’t change the cash out number. When I spoke to another loan officer who called me in reference to my refi I told her what happened. She called his manager Jeff ** and they immediately had a new loan processor go through all of my paperwork, fix the errors and call me and give me the amount that I requested without hesitation.
They made errors on my house appraisal amount. They didn’t respond to emails in a timely fashion. If you leave voicemails they don’t call you back. I signed disclosure close documentation yesterday. I’m supposed to be closing in three days. I received an email this afternoon 11/17/2020 telling me that they made a mistake on my loan. Because it is a two family property I am not entitled to a cash out on my refi. This has been going on 3 months. They also had to lock my rate yesterday because this process has gone on so long. Constant mistakes and delays during this process. The refinance manager by the name of Jeff ** called me this afternoon presented himself as a representative and not a manager.
He didn’t realize that I knew who he was since I had to deal with him a few times in reference to his employee M. ** who made all the errors on my loan application and did not submit all of my proof of income documents that I had emailed. When I asked him how come he didn’t properly announce who he was he had no response. He then lied a few times telling me that nowhere on my loan paperwork or the documentation I sent in including my tax returns does it say that my home is a two family and he repeated that more than once. My two family identifier is on every piece of paper including my homeowner's declaration pages. This was his reasoning that we couldn’t move forward with my cash out refinance.
It is on every piece of documentation I have sent to them including the loan application, my 2-house appraisals, tax returns, tenants lease and my closing disclosure documents I signed yesterday. He is on those emails and he forgot that until I mentioned it on the call today. He reviewed all my documents and clearly saw my home was a two family. How do you outright lie to a valued customer a couple days before I am to close. You can imagine how devastated we are. We were counting on this!! They are deceptive, not trustworthy and extremely unprofessional mortgage company. My experience here has been the worst I have ever had with a mortgage company.

Mr. Cooper will report negative items to your credit history when it is THEIR fault. Then they will repeatedly blame you. Since securing the loan with Mr. Cooper, I have paid every month. They failed to update my primary address when I called in to check on refi options. They told me the address had been updated in their system, but it was not. Months later I did not receive mail alerting me that my monthly payments need to increase. Mr. Cooper then reported that I made no payments for more than 60 days. Not true.

All went well until I changed my windstorm insurance in August and was asked to provide proof of insurance/loss payee. I uploaded my declarations page as instructed. About a month later, my windstorm insurance refunded my entire premium. As it turns out, Mr. Cooper insurance PAID the premium shown on my declarations page. (I had already paid it because I was not required to escrow insurance/property taxes). I deposited the refund and paid Mr. Cooper as instructed by Customer Service.
Now they are forcing me to escrow windstorm insurance! I have spent literally HOURS on the phone bouncing between Insurance & Escrow (with ridiculous hold times every time) trying to straighten this out. I have opened a research case but have heard nothing. They are currently refusing to apply my principal & interest payment unless I pay their escrow ransom. Do yourself a favor - avoid this company if at all possible!

Mr. Cooper applied the payment to August, and informed me I was 30 days delinquent and would have to pay double plus late fees in order to correct the loan.
I disputed the debt through both Mr. Cooper and the Federal Consumer Credit Protection Bureau. Mr. Cooper denied any wrongdoing, despite recently paying a multi-million dollar fine to the federal government for continuous poor record keeping. Mr. Cooper has continued to charge me late fees on the loan, despite my payments being made on time within the first 5 days of the month for the past two years. Mr. Cooper has continued to report the alleged late payments to credit reporting agencies denying me the ability to re-finance the loan through another lender. Stay away from this lender!!

I've refinanced twice with them. I did a straight VA refinance for the last refinance. The interaction was pretty simple, absolutely flawless and great. I made the phone call because the interest rates were dropping to get a refinance option. They didn't give me the rates that were competitive at the time so I had to ask. The rep explained to me that he afforded me the opportunities for the loans he thought were in my best interest. But one of the loans that was in my best interest wasn't one that he told me. The only way I got that option was to tell him I was going to go somewhere else.
Going on from there, it was pretty easy going back and forth. But I had to ask a couple times, because a lot of numbers weren't showing up the right way on my disclosures. During the last disclosure, the rep said she couldn't give me another copy in writing because that would move my closing date. She told me she would be on my closing paperwork. It wasn't really warm and fuzzy for me. But I do closings all the time, so I was fine to not find it if it wasn't the way it was supposed to be the next day.
At the end, I asked my agent about my funds being released. She told me to let her know if I didn't get my money in two weeks. But that was kind of the wrong answer. So this last experience was not wonderful. I do so many closings and I felt like I definitely was not well informed as a consumer. I walked into it as a knowledgeable person knowing what I wanted, and those things weren't afforded to me. Mr. Cooper should not make the decision for the consumer. Giving them a lot of options and telling them the pros and cons for each would have worked better for me. But my overall experience has been very positive because I've had them for a while. I've never had any issues with anything, even getting some rebates of pennies on overages of escrow. I thought it was funny. Spending more in posted than it was actually worth to give me.

Having the preexisting mortgage holder do the refinance made it a lot easier, so I refinanced my mortgage with Mr. Cooper. The fact that I can do everything electronically made it so much more simpler. I got a bit of debt consolidation and a better interest rate, which was the main goal I was looking for. The process took three weeks and the representatives that handled my refinance were able to answer any questions I had and solve any issues that may have been. Everything was handled well and it went smoothly. They were also able to make some shortcuts and go around a few different items that would've caused a headache for me.
With Mr. Cooper as our mortgage holder, everything's been satisfactory. The only issue that I've ever had with them was last year when we were very aggravated with how they handled the processing on our insurance claim. It was a rather large claim, and they had several different hands involved in the pot. We had three contractors. One contractor had to start prior to the other contractor to prepare. The other contractor then did his work and then that second one had to come back and finish what he was doing. That complicated things and the entire process of properly disbursing the money to our contractors was an issue, but we finally got everything resolved.

But by that time, they were scheduling the closing and then for the notary to come and do it. It was super straightforward and simple. Their mobile app is also great. Everybody was really helpful, kept in touch and did really well. They were able to lower my payments on the one and helped me out with some pay-out stuff on the other one. So, it all worked out well. I'm gonna end up $600 less a month in other payments. My experience with them has been very easy.

I was sent information on refinancing my home. I was initially told an amount that I could be eligible for. I went through the process of paying money for an appraiser only to be told that the market value that Mr. Cooper used upfront was drastically different from what was pulled after they required me to pay money upfront. I was urged to pull money from my savings or use a credit card. I was strongly lead to believe that I could pay it back when my loan comes through as they were extremely reassured that I would qualify. I was also strongly urged to pay more money by paying off or paying down some debt to qualify for the loan.
After I was in for more than $1100 dollars trying to get my home refinanced to get the money needed for my son's college tuition. I received a call saying that they were charging 10,000 in fees and my refinancing would not be worth it based on the appraisal report that came back. The appraiser was sent by Mr. Cooper. I was in a worse situation because the professionals at Mr. Cooper lead me down a rabbit hole. If you require a customer to spend money upfront, be more sure about the true value of the home you send advertisements about. Upfront I was told that my home was worth 119K and then appraised for 88. My $1100 meant as much as your $11 million. Stop hurting the little man. Shame on you.

So, when Mr. Cooper reached out to me looking at doing a refinance to get a lower rate, I was very pleased because I wouldn't have to change servicers. I've been very happy with Mr. Cooper and in previous experiences with other homes that I've owned, the servicing, sometimes is okay, sometimes it's not. But Mr. Cooper has been wonderful. The guy on the phone told me, “You're calling at the perfect time because the rates are so low.” So I said, “Okay, let's do this.” He was really helpful and it didn't take but two shakes. I didn't even have to have an appraisal. I think my mortgage is still less than half the value of my property. So, it’s all good. Mr. Cooper reached out to me to tell me they were having some good rates and there was no closing cost. Steve walked me through everything that I needed to do and told me everything I need to do for my refinance. He emailed me and called me and he answered all my questions. Also, their website is very user-friendly. I've dealt with a few mortgage companies in the past that don't come at that level and don't give that experience of talking to everyone on the phone. It seems like they know their loans, they know their information, and they're very responsive.
The only complaint I had is that I was told there's gonna be no closing cost but they wanted a month's payment upfront, for technically, the closing cost. I told them I wouldn't have done this if I knew I was gonna have to pay that. But they worked with me and knocked it down like 600 bucks, which was fine. The refinance gave me a month and a half of no payment, a lower payment, and a lower interest rate. I didn't have a house payment in October and it was nice to have that little bit of extra money. And they knocked my payment down for 50 or 75 bucks, which is not much but knocks it down over the years to a lot more money. Since Mr. Cooper took over my loan, I've had a good experience with them. The refinance helped me save money in the long run and I would refer them to a friend.

They went way beyond the expectation to get me closed and refinanced. Refinancing gave me peace of mind, ‘cause it lowered my interest rate and it lowered my payments going forward. Then, my years from 30 went down to 25 years.

In August, I contacted Mr. Cooper regarding a home refinance. I've been a customer with Mr. Cooper for a few years now and refinanced once already back in April/May 2019. Since rates have dropped, we decided to look into refinancing again with the cash-out option to use towards some home improvements. The Mr. Cooper mortgage professional I have been dealing with and his supervisor have both been helpful. However, the appraisal company, ValuTrust Solutions, used by Mr. Cooper is a joke. Not only did the appraiser's report contain numerous, significant errors (for instance, he couldn't tell the difference between a bathroom finished a month before the appraisal and one completed 6-10 years ago), but it placed the value of my home 10% lower than the appraisal company used by Mr. Cooper just a year before. Since the 2019 appraisal, we have completely redone three rooms and upgraded other parts of the home.
While I certainly understand that the housing market fluctuates, it is currently booming in my area. In fact, my regional newspaper just ran an article about how home sales and home prices have been on the rise over the last few months. I have tried to appeal this appraisal by pointing out all of the inaccuracies on the report. I shouldn't have had to do this in the first place. It's not my job to proofread a "professional's" report. The report was updated to reflect my corrections and two additional errors were made on the "corrected" report. The value of the home, according to the appraiser, did not change. I find that hard to believe considering the nature of the errors, but I didn't expect anything less from him as changing the value would be admitting he didn't know what he was doing in the first place, which he didn't. I paid for a fair, accurate, and honest appraisal. I did not get that.
I find it interesting that this company, which has a reputation of undercutting home values by 10% or more, is being used by Mr. Cooper. While my main issue is with the appraiser and the appraisal company, it doesn't make Mr. Cooper look good to be associated with such ineptitude. It makes me wonder why Mr. Cooper is partnered with a company that has a reputation for significantly undercutting home values. What should have been an easy refinance has become a very frustrating experience and has left me questioning whether Mr. Cooper really wants the best for its customers.

Mr. Cooper was appointed as our servicer. When we had talked to a mortgage person about refinancing, the process seemed a lot more complicated. So, when we talked to Mr. Cooper, it was a lot more simple and they weren't gonna require an appraisal. We refinanced through them last year and it was convenient because they already had most of our information and we could just submit everything online. Mr. Cooper called us again this year and said that we could qualify to refinance just our interest rate because of how low the rates went. They told us it was not credit-based, which was interesting. So we decided to do it again to get our interest rate down as low as possible.
Last year, when we did our refinance, there was a little more phone contact and we had more questions. This time around, we knew what we were getting into a little bit more. So I only got like two or three phone calls from anybody. We probably could have used a little bit more contact because it was a big transaction. So, I would just check the app a lot and ensure that we were doing the things we needed to do. That was how I found out what I needed to submit. It was easy to use the app and they already had our information.
The gentleman that initiated our refinance last year was the same person that called us again this year. That was a nice touch. But their customer service probably could be a little more fine-tuned. When we talked to somebody on the phone, they were really short. They were impatient and weren't really interested in answering a lot of questions, which was the downside of the whole experience. The mortgage industry, to me, is really confusing, even though I know insurance really well. So when I would ask the kind of questions that I would think that I was allowed to ask, I always felt like that was annoying to them. They should ensure that whoever is on the other line was really comfortable answering questions for people that might not understand the process and the lingo very well.

Our original loan got transferred to Mr. Cooper. We've been with them for a couple years and then we just heard about the refi to get your percentage rate down, and we thought we were interested. So, I gave Mr. Cooper a call and they explained it. We decided that we wanted to go with it and they made it extremely easy. Our rep was amazing. He kept me apprised every step of the way. There were times we talked two or three times a day. He never acted as though I was putting him out. He always made me feel comfortable and answered all our questions.
When it came time for turning in paperwork that we needed to, we were able to do that all over the phone, through the app. That made that really well. And then, our rep would call me right after and say, “Yes, this is great,” or, “No, I need this instead.” We were just really pleased with him. The refi gave us peace of mind. It lowered our house payment $300 a month, which nowadays is quite a bit of money.

But this time around was wonderful. We're very happy with everything. I worked with Cole. He was awesome. He spent a lot of time explaining things to me and answering all of my questions, and letting me know clearly what my options were. I also worked with a girl who was also fantastic. Angie was her name. Both of them just made themselves available and answered all my questions, and were always very patient and extremely helpful. Everything about this experience was wonderful. Cole and Angie redeemed the entire company for me. I would certainly recommend friends and family at least give Mr. Cooper a call.

I spoke with Maya in the beginning 'cause I had seen the information. When I logged in to make my payment, it said I had options (refinance or pull money out), so I called in. From the very first conversation, she was very helpful, and she explained everything. Every time I had a question, she always answered it, even though I asked over and over the same question, for my own confirmation to make sure I was understanding her right and what she was explaining. She then handed me over to another loan person, Garrett, and it was the same thing. He was helpful, and he called me. I then uploaded the documents that were needed.
When Garrett was on vacation, I contacted Maya. As a big company and with me being a little person in the peanut gallery, the return phone calls and the responses back were always quick. Along with that, they were being reassuring that things were fine. I spoke to Maya a few weeks ago after everything had completed and I told her it was the easiest thing I ever had to deal with in regards to a house. Everybody was very informative. I don't think the service could have been any better. I was pleased. I've been putting the refinance off 'cause I thought, "Oh, my gosh,” and I have to deal with so much, but the whole transaction was so much easier than I could have ever expected.

We talked with one young lady at Mr. Cooper that helped us through the whole process of finding what kind of loan would benefit us and where we wanted our payments and things like that. She helped us set up the meeting with the lady that came up to help us with signing the paperwork for our refinance. The process was very smooth and it felt like she knew what she was talking about. She was able to help us with any questions and gave us her direct line. But when we came down to the closing day, that person that set up everything for us was kind of MIA and we were trying to get her to waive a certain fee. She disappeared and we couldn’t get in touch with her. But that was the only thing that I was a little weary about and other than that, things went very well.

I am a customer of USAA. Nationstar (A.K.A. Mr. Cooper) is the mortgage company USAA has chosen to go through. Mid August I received a delinquent tax notice. I checked my USAA account and the proper amount of money had been taken out of my account for the previous months. I spoke with a receptionist who forwarded me over the phone to the "Escalation Team". The person I spoke with went by the name of Monique. Upon speaking with Monique (part of the escalation team), I was assured that this matter would receive proper attention.
I was told that she (Monique) would be calling me back on the 17th of August, which did not happen. I went on to my county website to pay my taxes using my credit card on the 17th of August. I have the invoice. I was contacted on the 18th of August by Monique who claims she was supposed to call me on the 18th not the 17th. After a brief discussion I was told that she would get a hold of the tax team and: 1) Ensure that my escrow money not be accessed to pay anything. 2) See about getting me a refund for the $1450.00 in taxes I paid.
The next day, 19 August 2020 I received notice that my property taxes had been paid from my escrow account ($700.00). I e-mailed Monique--'usaaescalation.team@homeusaa.com' Attn Monique. I have received no response. I was supposed to get a phone call from her today (25 August 2020). I called at 8:30 A.M. and spoke with Zach who said Monique was in and that she had scheduled a call with me for 10 A.M. At 10:30 I reached out to Nationstar to find out what was going on. After 5 minutes of being on hold I asked what was taking so long.
The receptionist stated she was trying to get a hold of Monique or a manager. 5 Minutes later I was told that Monique was not in today. After pointing out the alternate form of a truth, I was told that I was mistaken and that I was never told that Monique was at work. I was also told that all of the managers were busy and could not be reached. I was later told that the tax team had sent a message stating my taxes had been paid out of my escrow account.
It is with disgust that I e-mail you the terrible customer service provided to me by your company Nationstar (A.K.A. Mr. Cooper). Being lied to having funds taken out of my escrow account and not sent to pay my property taxes are characteristics that I would assign as a Ponzi scheme. Monique who is part of the Escalation Team is in fact a big problem.

The rep that I dealt with was very knowledgeable. He was always calm no matter how many crazy questions I had. The process was very, very fast. I liked how I could log in and see where it was at, sign my documents electronically right away, and keep the process moving. The guidance was thorough and I always felt like I was being led in the right direction. Because at the time of the signing, I had some additional questions and they wanted a check from me, and I was told I'd be getting a check. When I called Chris, he said he talked to the VP and I should sign it then they would take care of it all for me. I never mistrusted him and that was the relationship he built. It's a good time knowing that my retirement date will be close to my mortgage payoff date and we saved a bunch of money.

We were moved to Mr. Cooper from another loan servicing company and given no say in the matter. We were wrongly advised on how to set up our bi monthly payments by a Mr. Cooper employee resulting in numerous late fees. Mr. Cooper refuses to reimburse us for those late fees despite it being their mistake and set up under their guidance. In addition, Mr. Cooper 'lost' a payment and I had to call and send Mr. Cooper proof that the auto payment left my bank account and was never reimbursed in order to correct the issue. Horrible customer experience.

We were initially with Greentree and we were told that they will try to keep us. With that factor, I was good. But the next thing I know I'm with another mortgage company that I've never heard of. They came up with new ideas and said that my rent was gonna increase because of escrow. I asked what I would do for the interest. They said nothing and that they were just increasing it. I was out. I'm sick and tired of that kind of thing that happens. When you autopay, you're paying good money. It's not being halted, stopped, or delayed. Now, your contract is sold and you asked what you did wrong and you didn't do anything. It was the company.
Mr. Cooper wouldn't be selling our contract. I was a little leery at first as I didn't understand how things were going to go. It took some paperwork and some of this stuff I didn't understand like the clarity of the verbiage. And then the waiting process took a little bit longer than I thought. But once it started, it started to roll pretty easily. Also, the phone numbers of trying to contact people weren't as easy to get ahold of. I had to wait for maybe 45 minutes for someone to answer the call. The waiting will make you wanna hang up the phone. But when they did answer, they talked to me and they were very polite, congenial, and professional. It made me feel good to wait that long.
I'm at B level now. I would have gone to A if they would've dropped it tremendously on the mortgage premium and gave me more options to pay off the house. There's an old adage, "If you pay one payment, it'll knock seven years off your mortgage." No, it doesn't. They used to tell you that back in the day. You make one payment and seven years has gone off the cost of your house. If they've made that dream come true, then a lot of people would be paying that mortgage off.
With the mortgage stuff, you'd be getting that interest back then they'll throw it on somebody else. They'll say, "This is A1 rating." Why? Because they take care of people. They may lose on the interest a little bit. They are not gonna lose a lot compared to National Lloyd's of London insurance company. They will poke your eyes out, take your underwear and pants and put socks that has holes in your shoes on you because they get to walk in. That's how bad they are. And they're super rich.

I was looking to see if we could get a better rate. We refinanced and Mr. Cooper took over the loan. Everybody that we dealt with was awesome. One of them was Michael and he was great. Everybody was very professional and they explained everything. They were very efficient and I didn't have to send everything 16 times. They closed quicker than we expected. This was the best experience I've had. We got a little bit of a lower rate and we were able to save a few dollars. By doing this, they'll try to pay the same amount to get the loan paid off a little faster.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. If you have other options, use them. I applied for a home equity loan and waited 3 and a half months and still not finished with no end in sight. My loan processor was rude, childish, problematic, unprofessional, uncommunicative and insulting. She waited a month for job verification which shouldn't take more than 24 hours, 72 hours at the most, she never notified me. I waited weeks for responses from emails and voicemails and when she finally contacted me it was about something else.
She never once answered any of my questions, not 1 of them, ever. She made me supply the same documents to her twice, she didn't know the basics of my loan and situation, I mean the very basics. I tried to call her manager to complain about her. I called 10 times over a 3 week period and left a voicemail every time and never once did her manager acknowledge me or return my call. So I called her supervisor several times, never once did she return my call. Avoid Mr. Cooper at all cost. Every day was hell trying to deal with them.

Mr. Cooper held my mortgage before when they were still Nationstar. I felt pretty confident with my mortgage application with them. The process was fairly easy. The gal that we worked with told me exactly what we needed to do and when we needed to get certain paperwork in. They were all very courteous and on the spot. The promise said was kept. Everything went really smoothly. We really didn't have to go out of our way. They had a gal that showed up, a notary public, signed all the paperwork at the closing right here in our dining room table, and it was great. Everything was successfully done. I'm very satisfied because I saved nearly $400.

We originally had our loan with Paramount Bank. Once we signed the papers and bought the house, they transferred our loan to Mr. Cooper. Mr. Cooper is a terrible company. They basically scammed us out of our escrow money. They kept telling me every time I would call that the old escrow balance was being transferred to the new account and that the money was coming. But because of COVID, it was taking longer and to call back. They were telling me to wait past the point where I would say, "No, I don't wanna refinance," to trap me in. Come to find out that the customer service people lied to us over and over again. They told us we are supposed to get our previous escrow balance into the new escrow balance. That wasn't the case. They used it all on closing and they did not tell us that. For two months, I called week after week and got nothing but lies and be treated like **.
We closed on July 1st and I didn't get an answer until last week. The interest rate is fine but I'm not necessarily satisfied with the terms because of the fact that they lie to people to get them to get past that date to where they can't go back and say they don't want to refinance. Now my escrow account is negative on top of me not getting my old escrow account. Now my credit one is negative because of their lies. I'm super unhappy with Mr. Cooper. If I could get my mortgage loan switched over to somebody that's not them right at this moment, I would. I am in the process of doing that because of how they treated me.

When the guy from Mr. Cooper called me and said that since they already owned my loan, it would be much easier for them to do it. There would be less documentation and they just have to do it. That sounded too easy and it really was super easy, especially when I consider that I was working out of town in a place where phone service blows and my Wi-Fi is horrible.

I checked out other mortgage companies and it seemed easy with Mr. Cooper with their tracking and everything they had, which was why I stuck with them. I went to Jonathan, the home advisor, and he was good. He showed concern to get to know me and talk to me, and showed me things such as how the tracker works. He was a pleasure to work with. He said mine was one of the fastest he has ever had that went through because I uploaded everything so quickly and got everything done. He turned me over to the loan officer but he also told me that if I had any other questions or concerns, he would check back with me after it's over and that he was always available for me. I had his direct number. I went over to Mirka and she seemed a little rushed but we got everything through. Then it was done. It took four weeks.
The website was not up-to-date though when I uploaded some things. It said that I still needed to upload something. I called Mirka and she said that they were looking for another form. She sent me the information and I uploaded one again. It seemed like it was not my uploading but it might be that you have to wait until somebody looks at it and checks it off. That seemed a little slow but everything else was perfect. Sometimes, I don't think people know that you can include and not include what you want and what you don't want for refinances such as paying off bills. I always thought you had to do everything and that was not necessarily the case. The reps were very talkative as far as explaining that I could do it whichever way I wanted and if I wanna include extra money. Those were all laid out so that was good.

We signed our mortgage and our mortgage company refinanced it with Mr. Cooper. We didn’t have a choice then but we just refinanced and that was by choice. We have our first new payment on the 1st of September and everything has been smooth. The people we worked with were great. The rep has kept us up to date every step of the way on what was going on. We never felt out of the loop. Other than that initial hiccup, everything with Mr. Cooper has been great too. Everything is fairly easy.
We got screwed the first time because Mr. Cooper's person wasn't trained. We almost lost our house because of it. We did the initial loan for the house when we first bought it. Then, we got a letter in the mail saying that the original lender had sold our loan. They called us to do the paperwork and when we talked to the lady, she told us we didn't have any payments for three months, which was not correct.
We saved the money but a month and a half later, we got a call wanting to know why we hadn't made any payments. I was understandably livid because a home ownership is very important. We've done everything on time and done everything that we could to make sure everything was as it should be. I was so mad and I went off on the person. We're now all of sudden two months behind on our mortgage and we are not that kind of people. I had specifically asked her when the next payment was due. I wrote everything down because I'm very meticulous like that. Their disclaimer said they record these phone calls for training purposes. I told them to review it and they did. They came back and all they could say was sorry. There was nothing they could do to fix it. They knew exactly what happened when they reviewed the tape. But everything since then has been perfect.

The people I worked with at Mr. Cooper were good in terms of the professionalism of getting the refinance through. The only portion that I'm unsatisfied about is the escrow money. I'm very disappointed with Mr. Cooper. I didn't wanna refinance but I had to because I needed the escrow money and they were supposed to give it to me. But I'm still waiting for it. My wife and I have a refrigerator that's gone kaput and when all these started, I said to everyone I talked to who was associated with Mr. Cooper that the only reason why I’m refinancing was because I needed to get a fridge. So, they knew upfront. I even called one time and asked if there was a way that they could expedite this. They said that they had no control over the escrow and that doesn’t make sense to me.
We still will be using the escrow money to buy a new refrigerator. So, in order to not borrow from family, uncles and aunts and cousins, we went on a refinance while we wait for it. If we weren’t wasting money because of spoiled food and going through the inconvenience of dealing with our refrigerator, we probably would be saying wonderful things even more so about Mr. Cooper.
My wife doesn’t like the transparency. We don't know what's going on in the other end. They don't keep up with us and that's the problem. We don't know the amount of money and what's being discussed. We're not in on decisions as far as the escrow, how that's being done and when it's going to come. For example, we live in the state of Georgia and when you refinance, we all know that nothing’s efficient till a lawyer comes to the house. In any case, she’s very professional and nice. Then one of the rules and regulations that we had was that if we were able to give the lawyer a blank check with our routing number and account number, the money could be wired to us instead of a check sent in to us in the mail. So, we did on July 24th.
I called Mr. Cooper and I mentioned the story about the blank check, the routing number and the account number. Every person I talked to looked at the remarks, put me on hold and came back and said that the remarks doesn’t say anything about anything being wired. More than likely our check will be coming through Federal Express. So, it’s like they say one thing but do another or they do one thing and they tell us about it differently. There’s no consistency with the professionalism that we started out with.
After the lawyer came and we signed all those pages, we expected that things would start to move. I expected to wake up August 1st and I’ll look at my account, and the money would be there. It is August 13 and still nothing and we don't know if it’s going to the account or is it gonna come through the mail. I would still recommend Mr. Cooper but with an explanation that we were dissatisfied. Mr. Cooper should have more transparency to get in touch with their customers and if they say one thing, that should be the way it is throughout the whole deal.
