    This is the first home we've ever purchased and when we went through the mortgage process, our loan ended up with Mr. Cooper. There was a gentleman named Lance and he was phenomenal. He reached out and he said he was part of a special team. He called on a Saturday and left a message. I listened right away. He identified himself as working for Mr. Cooper and wanted to know if I was interested in refinancing. He might be able to save me some money and said to give him a call back. When I called him back, he said that he was looking at all the payments that we've made on time and that he thinks he could get me down into the high 3's. I said that was great and he called me back three days later. He said they could get me down to 3.2. I was so excited.

    Lance was knowledgeable and I trusted him from the moment I spoke with him. He built rapport very quickly with me. Him and Liz made this the easiest process I've ever gone through and it was a great experience. I had to bring less than my mortgage payment to closing because we went through a reclosing. I did not have to pay my mortgage in August and now when I go to pay my mortgage in September, it is about $350 less. The experience was fast, uncomplicated and easy. Mr. Cooper did all the hard work for me.

    Mr. Cooper has been a phenomenal mortgage lender. We paid our mortgage on time for an entire year. And because we did that, we were allowed to refinance our house to a much more affordable rate. Everything with Mr. Cooper has been awesome. We went through Supreme Lending and got approved. Then once it was final, Mr. Cooper picked up the loan as per the mortgage industry.     I had an existing account with Mr. Cooper. I refinanced with them because the rates were going down. Their people are knowledgeable and courteous. They were pretty open and they gave me some options with some incentives. And because I was refinancing with them, things are a lot easier. I got a lower interest rate. The thing, however, is we exchanged documents back and forth and I thought because I had an account, those documents would still be up at the website. But they weren't. An example would be the lending disclosure agreement. I had to sign off on that. But when I went back to look at it again, it was gone.

    Also, because the disbursement date was after the closing date, there was a difference in the final numbers. I asked a number of times if I could get that document. Eventually, it got mailed to me. But they didn’t indicate that I was gonna get that through US Postal mail. On the whole, my experience with Mr. Cooper worked out fine.

    I kept getting these emails and correspondents through the mail saying that interest rates are an all-time low. So I tried it. The rep from Mr. Cooper was wonderful. He was very respectful and informative. If I called, he called back really quickly if he wasn't able to take the call at that moment. Once this whole process started, even though he was busy, he called me. It was difficult to get ahold of my insurance company. He had reached out with them. The insurance company contacted me saying that they didn't receive a payment and he personally got ahold of them and said, "Hey, if you need to get ahold of me, I'll go ahead and take your calls even if I'm busy at that moment to get this squared away."

    Refinancing my old mortgage have been able to save quite a bit of money. I dropped from a 4.67 to a 2.773. I didn't have to really do anything because it was all handled by my rep minus answering a few emails and submitting a little bit of information. It was all an easy process. John made it really easy for us. Mr. Cooper made it so simplistic that it was the easiest. This was my third time and the easiest by far that I've ever been through.

    I was with another mortgage company prior and they were bought out by Mr. Cooper. I ended up refi-ing last year with them. When I refi-ed again this year, they did really good by me. Even when they did my refinance the first time, they were really good to work with. When the interest rates dropped out, I called and the guy reworked it and did awesome by me. They literally shaved four years off my mortgage without even having to have my payment go up. The only thing is the guy who came and did the closing on my house this last time was like a meathead. He wasn’t very pleasant to be around. My little dog came downstairs and he started freaking out.

    Mr. Cooper has good app with lots of tools to use and user friendly. However, disappointed with research & customer care departments. I sold my house on June 3rd 2020, it's now July 23rd and I'm still waiting for them to send me back refund for escrow and other amount they miscalculated. They usually say you would get a refund after 21 days. Gave them all information but still no action yet. I have received emails with no name signatures. You can't track who you are communicating to. I'm actually surprised they use name signatures on this review site in addition to Mr. Cooper.

    I'm still in the process of doing one of my refinances, but the other one went cool. The interest rate was good with that first refinance. Then once I knew these rates were gonna go down, I had to seize the moment. It helped me out far as the pricing each month so it was an easy deal. The process took about 30 days after we did all the actual computing of the numbers. It was very quick but this second one is taking too long. Mr. Cooper wasn’t using my escrow to pay the taxes and I didn't know that so then by the time we found it out, I was in the process of refinancing. Now, they have to clear that up and then we can finish the loan. They need to hurry up ‘cause it's their fault. But the professional I worked with was a good man. He went above and beyond and did his thing.

    Mr. Cooper purchased my loan from the original place that I started my loan process. We never had any problems with them so we went through a refinance with them. We saw a better interest rate option and decided to go ahead and do that. One thing I had an issue with was it took them a minute to get the title company the information that was needed for me to be able to have the notary come and have the documents signed. The notary was scheduled for noon and they weren't able to show up at noon because she didn't have the documents out for us to sign.

    Also, one of the people that we dealt with was very poor with her communication skills. I like to know what's going on each and every single day as the loan progresses. I know it's ever-changing and it's not a once a week change thing, it can be daily. I felt like her communication lacked to the point where I ended up having to reach out to her supervisor. He contacted me immediately and pretty much took care of any of my concerns and made sure that I knew what was going on. I had warned him ahead of time that I was very involved and I like to know what's going on at all times. He was right there to help curb my frustrations and my fears.

    We've had a mortgage with them for three years. Their site and app are great, and everything has been fine. Given the positive experience, we opted to refi with them. They didn't offer the lowest rate, but matched the lowest we could find. Since applying, communication has been awful. I constantly have to ask for updates and everyone seems highly annoyed at my doing so. Then yesterday, when asking for an update on the appraisal which was turned in Tuesday, they told me the underwriting turnaround is 60-70 days, and that I'm lucky because other companies are taking up to 4 months. I emailed both the other lenders we got quotes from, they both have normal turnaround right now, closing in about 3 weeks.

    Their website has a whole COVID FAQ and nowhere does it mention this, nor did the loan officer mention it. Now I'm in a huge jam because I needed this to process in a very reasonable 5 weeks (3 weeks from now), and I already paid for and had my appraisal. Really frustrating. The loan officer team's whole approach is "sorry we had to be the messenger of this"... yeah dude, someone else at your company should have told me this weeks ago. Huge bait and switch.

    Everything was pretty efficient and pretty quick. The loan processor stayed in touch with every detail right up to the last day. It was all pretty good, straightforward process. It was nice to be able to actually talk to the loan officer who was gonna do the loan instead of from multiple channels and not being talked to the person who says yes or no on it. But Mr. Cooper needs to get their name out there more because I didn't even know they existed until the mortgage was sold. It's a pretty good company to work with.

    I spoke with a service representative to verify best way to pay while switching homeowners insurance companies. Since a bulk check was sent to my previous insurance, no stop-payment could be issued, so my options were to pay or let Mr. Cooper know the amount to pay out of my escrow. I paid. Then I received a letter showing that Mr. Cooper also paid bringing my escrow to a negative balance. When I contacted them, they said I would receive a refund from the insurance companies and would need to send the check to Mr. Cooper. I received one from the previous company, but not the new one that received double payment, so contacted my insurance agent after 6 weeks. They contacted new insurance company who never received Mr. Cooper's payment, then contacted Mr. Cooper who after 1 hour on the phone said they would put in a stop payment.

    My bill arrived 1 month later with a negative escrow still, so I tried to call Mr. Cooper. Their automated system couldn't get me to a representative in insurance nor escrow after entering my account number + verifying my information 4-5 times. I had to hang up and choose a different option so that I could wait on hold 10 minutes to speak with a representative who could then transfer me to someone in insurance and in escrow. Finally, after another hour, they were able to process (hopefully) a stop-payment on their check sent to new insurance company and maybe I will receive credit instead of having to pay extra into escrow. They said thay had no record of the previous request for stop payment, yet didn't question my stop-payment request. Horrible waste of time due to their lack of communication and completing what they said they would do!!!

    This company is a consumer's nightmare. First they overcharged my escrow account with made up estimates for my American Modern Insurance policy and failed to pay American Modern on time thus having my homeowners policy canceled. I called the insurance department and they said the premium had been paid but after checking with American Modern again it had not been paid. I had to pay over $1300 to reinstate the policy even though Mr. Cooper had the money in escrow! The American Modern agent said “ Cooper” always pays on the last possible day and in my case it was 18 days late. It then took several weeks to get my money back. I wrote the Mr. Cooper but never got a response. Very disreputable company! I just pray that they pay my property taxes on time.... They have lost my trust.

However, once that paperwork was completed, Catherine was no longer available to address concerns referring me to Eugene. Eugene (a loan processor) made a number of errors in submitting paperwork I provide, his following through was generally poor, he was disorganized and had to be reminded of details associated with my loan. I believe if I had not been very persistent, my loan process would have taken even longer than it did.     The first call that I had answered just randomly, the guy got everything done on the phone with me pretty quickly. He asked a couple of simple questions and he was able to give us a general amount for the new interest rate and for our new monthly payment. And then, he sent us an email to DocuSign everything while we were on the phone with him, which was done. All that was fine. But afterwards, it was a little vague because we got the DocuSign, and then the Mr. Cooper portal updated with a closing date and other stuff, but I never got a phone call that said when it would close.

    The weird things about the process were the closing appointment was not discussed and that we weren't specifically told we needed an amount for the cashier's check. I got a phone call from the mobile notary that Mr. Cooper had contracted and the mobile notary went over the whole closing process more with me than Mr. Cooper did, which I thought was a little weird, and so did the rep. Also, the mobile notary called and said, "I'll be here at this time. Make sure you have a check." At that point, I had to ask him what was going on. And he said, "Well, I've been assigned to do this for you guys from Mr. Cooper. No one's called you guys yet?" And I said, "No" so he explained what he would come here to do.

    Mr. Cooper should improve the monitoring of their email because it seems like it's not within the turnaround time that they advise on the email or their voicemail. If you go into the portal, you just click the name of the person that was assigned to you and it gives you a name and an email. I emailed him multiple times asking for a callback just to confirm that what the notary told me was correct but we didn't get a call back until my husband called his supervisor, because the voicemail said to call a certain person if we haven't heard back within 24 hours.

    Everybody that I spoke with was very courteous. They were very diligent and they did fast follow-up. The process itself didn’t take long at all. I closed it seemed like within a couple of weeks. So it was pretty quick. The guy that I was speaking with during the underwriting process told me everything I would need and I submitted everything early that day. I had a decision within a couple of days. It was a matter of me setting up the appraisal but it was a pretty smooth transition.

    Mr. Cooper was fantastic. I got a letter saying that my escrow amount was going up so I called them and asked why because I was paying extra. The guy said, “You know, our rate is cheaper now than it was when you refinanced before.” I asked how much cheaper and asked if I have to pay the appraisal thing and he said, “No. Your appraisal is still up-to-date. You can go ahead and refinance.” So I refinanced.

    They do that little pie chart thing and it tells you how much you’re paying for the interest and the principal. And then it tells you how much you’re paying for the escrow account. The way they refinanced me, I was paying more to the principal and less to my interest. So, I was like, “Wow. The way they refinanced me, now I’m paying more in.” So it was a better idea all the way around. I pay 400 more to my principal so that I could pay it down. It made me happy. And after I refinanced I have that one month free. My one month free was the total amount of what my debt was. So I refinanced, wiped out all my debt and I’m debt-free, except for the mortgage. I was happy because then my mortgage payment dropped down like $200.

    When I paid off the mortgage, I was looking at it. Like this month is gone and I had $2,100 left.     My escrow balance was calculated at the end of 2019. In March, I got my monthly mortgage and they said that my escrow had a negative balance of over $8,000, therefore my mortgage payment was going up over $600 a month unless I paid the $8,000. I'm an accountant and recalculated my account. I used their spreadsheet and put in the correct numbers. They had doubled the charges for my home owner's insurance, plus a few other errors. I've contacted them over and over, called, emailed....etc. No response, so I'm making this huge mortgage payment every month (when this pandemic is occurring and I have NO ADDITIONAL MONEY!!!) in order not to be fined for not paying the full amount. When I have gotten through to them, they have me on hold for over 4 hours, then they hang up. The people that I have spoken with don't even understand what I'm asking. They are too ignorant to do their job. DISGUSTING! I wish that I could dump them!!!!

    It's a long story but the gist is, since late 2019, my payments have been incorrectly allocated. Their website does not function as intended, I tell them this every time but they choose to ignore. For instance, when you elect to submit an additional principle payment, it sometimes gets applied as a regular monthly payment. And regular monthly payments sometimes get applied as additional principal payments. Etc... I've been in this mess for over 6 months. Every month, I am told that everything would be corrected but every month I end up calling back to request an adjustment.

    Our experience with the reps of Mr. Cooper was pleasant. I spent three hours on the phone. The rep did an excellent job and explained everything to me. She did detailed research into what would be the best option for us in our situation. I made sure she had everything she needed, for the most part, to get everything up and running. It was extremely thorough that I didn't have to question what I needed to send in. I made sure it was all taken care of that day on the phone with her.

    The only thing that was unclear, was the amount that we paid to refinance, like the taxes and the refinance fee. I still really never got a super clear number on that other than I was promised that we're still making money on this. She gave the overall outlook on what we would make over the term of the loan, that we're still saving about $40,000. But it was unclear how much we're paying upfront to take on refinancing the mortgage. She admitted she couldn't give me that exact number until she had done more stuff on her end. By the time she finishes up on her end, I feel like we were already in the process of doing it so it was too late to really say no. But overall, it was a happy experience 'cause we were communicated with very well. Other than that one thing, for the most part, I felt like I could trust who I was talking to.

    This process was really smooth and it happened very quickly. I was surprised because initially when we went to do it, it was a three-week wait period before we'd even hear back from someone, not even starting the process. I don't know if it was the timing on our end but we heard back from someone within four days, and then within a week, we were already in the process of doing it. Then, a week after that, we were closing. The whole process took three weeks. The payment option as far as it being online is really nice and convenient too. Overall, we're happy with everything so far.

    Terrible customer service! Possibly one of the worst mortgage companies I've ever had to deal with. On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best, I'd give them a negative ten if I could. Called more than 25 times in 2 months to get an answer from them. Every time I called I talked to a different person who had no idea what was going on, nor the fact that I called, nor did I receive an answer to the question. Only, we'll have to give you a call back, which never happened. They're also terrible about tacking on unexplained fees. If you value your mortgage and want some real customer service, stay completely away from this company!

    We originally had our mortgage through Chase and we didn't hear about Mr. Cooper until we got a letter from Chase saying that our mortgage was bought by Mr. Cooper. I called Mr. Cooper to talk them about my payment because from what I understood, I wasn't gonna have to do anything 'cause our payment was gonna automatically get taken out. But Chase was still getting my money and then I was getting notices from Mr. Cooper saying my mortgage was late.

    We had a VA loan and then the rep looked up a program of how we can get a lower interest rate and lower our mortgage payment because our escrow account was in the negative. She walked me through all of that and she explained everything. Then we went ahead with that 'cause it was a win-win situation. It was really nice that she offered that, seeing that we were negative in the escrow and this was the way to get out of that so that we can be in good standing with them. This way, our mortgage wouldn't be any higher so she actually saved us money. Also, the notary guy who came was super sweet, quick and explained everything.

    The process took under a month. We started talking about it at the end of January and then we signed all the paperwork to refinance and closed on February 2nd. We ended up saving about $300 a month on our mortgage payment. It was great. I talked to my mother-in-law about it 'cause she used to do mortgages with Chase and Wells Fargo and she said we couldn't go wrong with it. I hope Mr. Cooper keeps our mortgage though 'cause I don't wanna deal with anybody else right now.

    I've been in this house 42 years and my mortgage has been sold repeatedly. I got the message from my mortgage company, Nationstar, and they said that their new name is Mr. Cooper. It just kept turning over and over to different companies. I got a call from a guy and then, I got a call from Antonio.     The fed interest rate was pushed almost to zero so the cost of capital went way down. Refinancing was a good idea to reduce our burn rate and simultaneously reduce our payment. Based on that coincidental reduction in the fed mortgage interest rate and a combination of strange economic elements due to the COVID-thing, we considered refinancing. We let ourselves kinda cruise through this instead of freaking out through it all.

    Mr. Cooper bought my mortgage out through CitiMortgage, and then I refinanced with Mr. Cooper. I really like them. They have wonderful customer service. They’re very fast and efficient. The rep walked me through everything. He was very informative, knowledgeable, communicative, and always got back with me or left messages. I have an app with them and he would either send me something through the website or he would call me. Usually, it would be calling, but I found everything online through the app and I didn’t have to leave the house. That was what was so good about them. Use Mr. Cooper. They’re competitive and really nice.

    Mr. Cooper is probably not the only mortgage company that is helping people now because of the virus but they started early and yes they are so so helpful. So if you find out from your mortgage company that it is a too bad soo sad pay 100% of your mortgage. Move to Mr. Cooper as they will definitely help you survive.

    Mr. Cooper had bought my mortgage loan so when I pay my mortgage on the website it stated that there were options for divorces. Divorce was final in January. I sent my divorce decree and they called to refinance and be able to lower my payment and get a better interest rate. Knowing I had been divorced, they never stated that this may cause an issue with refinancing.

    I had to pay out of pocket for another appraisal even though the appraisal was done less than a year prior. It took 2 months to be told they would not move forward because they said they needed a part of my divorce decree. Never told me what they were looking for, I sent the only one I have that I watched the judge sign. So in the middle of the pandemic and just went through a divorce, they said I could refinance no problem. 2 months later, I don't have a lower payment, still never found out what was actually needed, and I am out over 600.00 (not sure how much it was but it was a lot for getting nothing in return). Will be getting another company to find out what they need in order to ensure I can refinance properly.

    Updated on 05/27/2020: Still have not heard back from this company with their review. I put in a Review on August 6,,which published on May 7, 2020. The last thing that happened is that they were going to review my case and possibly refund my Appraisal Fee as they are the ones who kept changing the terms even after we agreed on the last one and I signed and proceeded with the Loan Application...I had the terms locked and they kept making changes and I would sign and they would change the terms again or undo what I already signed. The last follow up I did was on the 12th and they said that they would get back to me...I think that they meant to say..."Mr. Cooper does not care and will do what we want to customers and there is nothing the customer can do about it...". This is the kind of service you can expect...NO Service!

    Original review: I used Nationstar in the past and had great experience...but then thought I could try them again for a new refinance and debt consolidation. I discovered that they are now called "Mr Cooper"...well, what the heck, try them. I had a nice enough loan officer and put in my application, got a good quote (which we had to haggle back and forth first). Paid for an appraisal...appraisal came in lower than what the market has for my house and info I gathered from realtors... But Mr Cooper changed my terms and added fees that I didn't have with my original quote... I think that the appraisers they use provide a low ball appraisal so that some of these Lenders can really stick it to the borrower.

    I tried to work with Mr Cooper and they finally revised my quote, we reviewed everything in detail over the phone, and I logged in online and esigned the new paperwork on a Friday... By Tuesday, the loan officer sent me an email to review and esign the new document. What new document? I called him to ask... He tells me that the other document that I had signed previously on Friday was just what COULD have been..but isn't. So, I have to sign the new "HIGHER FEES DOCUMENT" and then we can go to close!! WHAT?!!! He tells me that the other document was not valid but was just to show me other options...WHAT??!! I reminded him that we reviewed it together and he told me it was valid and I needed to sign right away and I did...

    But now (4 days later) it was no longer valid??!! He told me if I brought in a competitor's quote they would match it!! Well...I did just that...but guess what, he counter offered with his new high Fees quote and would not match the competitor quote as he had told me. LIES LIES ALL LIES. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! By the way, I have a great credit score...and great payment history...so, no issues on my side...just the issue of their NO INTEGRITY on their side...NOW, I LOST THE APPRAISAL FEE...JERKS!!

    My mortgage was transferred to Mr. Cooper about a year ago. Since the day it was transferred they have bombarded me constantly with emails and snail mail to do a mortgage checkup - see what great deals they can offer for a refinance. In the past week alone I have received 4 emails from them asking me to reach out to discuss a refi.

    I finally took the bait and reached out to them and was instantly told that they are so backed up right now that they wouldn't be able to do anything for me for at least 2 months. When I questioned on why they had bombarded me with emails about this even though they know that they are backed up, I was just told that "You don't need to bite my head off for telling you our process" - What process is that, to piss off your customers, because it's surely working. The agent on the phone was rude and didn't seem to care that they are aggressively marketing to people even though they have no intention of actually doing anything for them. This is a very shady business practice and makes me questions their motives as a company. I had not choice in my business being placed with them - but I certainly will not choose to further my relationship with a company that acts this way.

    Mr. Cooper was our mortgage provider and when we did the refinance with them, it went very smoothly. I worked with two reps, Brittany and Michael, and they were very respectful, courteous and helpful. They guided me through the process through email, the app and by phone. It took only a few weeks. Since refinancing, we have a higher monthly payment but we dropped a lower interest. So, we’ll save money if we stay in the house through the life of the loan.

I reviewed my call and did give the lady the correct information during setup. Then they said I didn’t have funds in account when I had over 5000 dollars. Obviously a mistake on their end!!!!     Our existing mortgage at the time was with Mr. Cooper and they sent me a notice saying that if I haven’t thought about it, I might think about refinancing. So, I called them and looked into it. It turned out to be a great deal and we went ahead and did it. The refinancing process went smoothly and that was confirmed even more when I talked to people who I worked with. They were talking about how they were either in the process of trying to refinance or in some cases, purchasing a home.

    One person, particularly, was trying to buy a home and they were having trouble just getting people to get the title company together. So, they’ve been working for a month and a half to try and get a mortgage approval and everything put together. We had our whole mortgage refinance put together and signed within two weeks of when we called. So, when I started telling people that I worked with about that, they started flipping. That was unheard of right now because nobody’s available. During the whole COVID thing is when we started. We got a lot more time on our hands and I’m not so busy with work.

    The rep wanted to entertain the conversation about what was gonna be best for us in the long-term. So, he helped me work through a lot of those different things and had a lot of great answers to questions. Sometimes, people get sticker shock when they look at how much it’s gonna cost them to refinance alone but what the rep helped me understand was that you gotta look at the long-term such as how much you are gonna be paying out. So, he was extremely informative, courteous, punctual and timely. Also, I’m very happy about the rate and terms. We dropped from 1450 a month to 1250 a month in terms of our mortgage payment. It was a great experience with Mr. Cooper. It was painless and everybody was very professional and very quick to move.

    We have had this company buy our mortgage last year. Since then every year our insurance payment is due out of escrow they do not pay it (mind you twice now). Then send us a letter stating that They are purchasing insurance for us. Like why can’t you just do your job and make the payment. So now I have to call the insurance company and these fools to figure out why they can’t do their job. They have only had the loan two year and each year this happens. Thinking of a refi only to get away from Mr. Copper and his non BBB affiliated business. Going to file a complaint with bbb and others about this mortgage holder.

    Veterans United was the original mortgage holder and they sold my mortgage to Mr. Cooper. The interest rate went down and I thought I could get a better monthly payment by refinancing, which I did. The first time, I went from a 4.5 to a 4.0. Now, I went from a 4.0 to 3.125. Everybody that I worked with was nice, very informative and patient with me. So, I was very pleased. The process took about 20 days. They did everything that they possibly could to get it done quickly and make it simple as possible. If there’s a problem or there was something they didn’t understand, they would call me.     I refinanced in 2006 with at the time Nationstar and is now called Mr. Cooper. I owed around $90,400 and they split it into two loans with high interest. One loan was and still is at 14% interest, the other was around 9%. The guy that was "helping" us get this loan knew what a horrible a loan it was but we was young and trying to use the equity in our home to pay off other debt. He told us in a yr the company would refinance our loan to one payment with a better interest. Well that was a lie and when we started to have a hard time with these payments they did modifications, several horrible ones.

    We paid interest for four yrs only and then with the last modification they lowered one of our loans interest to 4% but left the other one at 14% and then took money from the big loan and set it aside for us to pay at the end of the loan and added money that we don't know what it is for, we owed around $90,400 for our home and now in 2020 our payoff being around $113,000. We have literally paid nothing but interest since 2006 to this company. We will never have this loan paid off. The company knows people don't want to lose their home and when I was told this is all we can do then I signed the papers to keep my home. I believe this was called predatory lending.

    Refinancing with Mr. Cooper knocked my payment down about $200. I’m not worried about it because I had the money to pay it every month. I could have paid the 900 and instead of the 700 but I thought maybe with an extra 200 a month, I could put some more into the house. Their reps did a good job. The last time I talked, they said that the VA is not backing my mortgage. It was a VA loan to start with, and when you refinance, then it is no longer a VA because you got to pay the first one off first. So, if I had to pay $480 some to the VA for that, I should be getting that money back. Other than that concern, I am very satisfied with the people that I worked with at Mr. Cooper. After I did the original paperwork with the bank, they sent it to me all on the internet and all of the paperwork was done there. They didn’t have to come here and mess around with anything. I like that.

    About four years ago, we had Citibank and it got sold to Mr. Cooper. I retired on the 1st of January this year and we got a couple of written notices from them saying that we might either want equity or a lower monthly payment, and that appealed to me. So, I called them up and it looked like I could get about $188 less a month so, I went with them. The rep sent me some paperwork that I filled out and some things that they wanted verified that I did, and we did all of it online. Then, when it came to the closing, they gave me a time and date, which was 6:30 on a Wednesday night. I got there at 6:30, the person was there and we closed.

    The Reason of this review: Lender’s statement asked for an extra payment. This problem started from early 2019, statement showed the amount in double of regular monthly payment, customer service told me that is an Unpaid. In February 2019 I sent them the evidence of my pay and after 2 to 3 hours wasting time finally "they said sorry our system shows zero balance on your account and you need pay only one payment" and I did. But again it was back on next statement and still it has been continued to now. I called them every month and again and again the same as the 1st time customer service addressed another wrong date of unpaid, like no paid the last month and another time they said the very first payment of this loan at May 2014 or last July, this August and each single time I have sent the evidence and finally as the 1st time I heard zero balance.

    They started to charge me $110.98 late fee for that extra amount. Started two month ago. I called customer service of Mr Cooper, and I told them it does not work like this and "you need to give me the certain time of the missing payment in WRITTEN and then I will pay it fast if I missed it or I will send you the paid documents". And they never came back to me to now. Fortunately I have all of my payment documents from starting with this lender almost 6 years and still the problem is on my hands, and unfortunately the cost of asking a lawyer taking care of this will be more than a payment. I'm Tired of this, no choice that I have, just I decided to pay it and my feeling is very bad like I have been robbed in a bad place that I was not suppose to be there. Recommendation: Not at all working with this lender even if you got an unbelievable offer.

    As a property owner of multiple investment homes, I am always looking to capitalize on the lowest interest rate for a loan. After processing a loan with Mr. Cooper on 2 different properties, I decided last summer to attempt to refinance a condo in Florida with them. Long story short, after 9 mos, 2 different loan processors - 3 managers, 2 lost appraisal fees, this group of idiots couldn't hit the side of a barn with a baseball from 10 ft away. I probably provided more information to support a loan, with excellent credit, and everything that could possible be required and they screwed it up...never again.. Don't waste your time as these idiots work on a volume basis and don't give a crap about customer satisfaction!

    We were contacted by Mr. Cooper about refinancing our current home loan through them. Once we applied, almost no communication on Mr Cooper's end. Had to keep calling and leaving messages with the loan rep. Finally received a call back stating they were waiting on the government regarding rates. I have no problem with that. Today, log in to make our May payment and see where the refinance loan application was canceled! We have no idea why. We are in good standing and good credit. Have not received a call from our loan officer nor a letter explaining why. Very unprofessional! I have left messages and no response. Looks like we will be taking our business elsewhere.

    My account was purchased a little over a year ago by Mr. Cooper, I have never missed a payment. Now this Covid 19 happened I applied for a loan modification as we are receiving unemployment and when and if we return we would have reduced hour. I completed the application on 4/16/20 and received a answer on 4/20/20 for a short sale. I was shock how is this helping me keep my home. I been calling my loan specialist Joanna ** since March. No answer no reply. I spoke with her once and it was the most disheartening call I have ever had. Then they increased my mortgage from $1080 to $1160.

    They said the insurance went up $300 this year. I am like really at a lose for words and the worst time in my life my mortgage company is my worst stress. They tell you to apply if your income changes. I did. We were at 30 hours then we were laid off so I said if I could get the loan lower I can still afford to pay it. Their loan modification is a rip off. Don't trust anything they tell you. These people do not care about you. You never talk to the same person. You have to repeat you problem over and over. Still no help.

    If you see Nationstar or Mr. Cooper run. You will lose your home. Please do not use this company. There should be a law to keep companies like this from from doing any business and ripping people off. I am going to do everything I can to keep my home. I wish I could change mortgage companies with so much going on I have to deal with this. DO NOT USE MR. COOPER OR NATIONSTAR.

    Mr. Cooper initially bought my first loan so, they were my finance company. Then, I used them to refinance. My new rates were looking better and my credit score improved a little bit. So, I figured now would be a good time to do it due to my current situation. During the refinancing, I had an idea on what to expect going in and the process was smooth. The signing, the documentation and the notary went well. When I refinanced, I got a little cash back and overall, it lowered my monthly payment. The breakeven was a couple of months so, it won’t take too long to recover the cost of the process to refinance. Overall, it’s $150 a month savings. It’s not too crazy but long term, that all adds up. So, when you look at the long-term and amortization schedule, it makes a whole lot of sense to refinance. So, I’m glad we were able to do it and I’m glad we were able to get it done quickly.

    Please save yourself grief and use a local lender when you are looking for a mortgage. I recently used Mr. Cooper (Kendrick **) to refinance my mortgage mainly because they already had my mortgage and I thought it would be quicker and less costly. I was sadly mistaken on both counts. I started the process early in January and we didn't close until March 31st. They kept having problems with finding appraisers and took over 2 months to get this done.

    I live in Stillwater Oklahoma which has a population of 50k+ and I personally know over 7 residential appraisers. Of course they didn't use one of the local appraisers like the local banks do, they finally found someone out of Edmond Oklahoma which is 45 miles away. I was charged a full point 1.00% in closing costs on top of paying $680 for the 2-month appraisal + all of the normal title closing costs and escrows and the rate came in at 3.85% for 20 year mortgage. I have since given my file to 2 other lenders who I should have chosen and they both confirmed that I was not very smart in dealing with my refinance. Beware and do you homework!

    I started my refi process with Jason and a couple of other people at Mr. Cooper. I hit it around the appropriate time. It was around the first week of March and I was reducing my rate. The process was really simple. I uploaded a few documents on the website and everything turned through. They identified a closing date and a notary showed up at my house. We sat down and signed some papers. All in all, the process took two weeks and it was done. I've done five or six homes thus far and this has been the easiest mortgage process I've ever dealt with.

    While I’m a little frustrated with some of the fees that go into the refi and it seemed odd that it would cost Mr. Cooper close to six grand to refi everything when everything is already there. My FICO scores are in the top 1% so there was no risk at all. Still, I reduced my rate by over a point and a half which made a significant difference in my cash flow. I have recommended a couple of friends to contact Mr. Cooper. They are one of the largest originators in the country and with those, one would think people don't get very good service. On the contrary, I had an exceptional service experience. With them, everything is onshore. Kudos to Mr. Cooper.

    Pick a different lender. Gateway mortgage sold my loan to Mr Cooper. Gateway Mortgage had me set up on an automatic biweekly loan payment program that payed into the loan BIWEEKLY. Mr Cooper does not honor that system and only holds on to your first biweekly installment until the total monthly payment is collected (usually at the end of the month.) This effectively cuts out a major benefit of making biweekly payments into your mortgage. When I called to rectify this, they could not help and simply said "that's the way it's done here." Also when you try to make principal only payments through their application it sits in "unapplied funds" until, again, your full monthly payment is made. They are creating legal loopholes to keep you from paying off your mortgage early. Do your research and you will see. Shame on you.

    I’ve been with NationStar for nine years. Initially, we had refinanced and the interest rate was a little bit higher than before. We refinanced a couple of years ago and then the rates were going down for the military ‘cause that’s me. Eddie called me in January and I wasn’t able to do anything back then. But more recently, in March, April, things got better here and so we were able to refinance. I looked at other mortgages and banks and although there were some that could give me a quarter percent better or something like this, I didn’t find them reputable. So, I just wanted to stay with Mr. Cooper.

    I talked with a young lady first, and she got me to the one that was going to work with me. He answered all my questions. It was straightforward. I felt that he wasn’t trying to get more or do more. It was very easy to refinance and do everything without any hassle. For nine years, I’ve been very happy with the folks that I talk to and deal with through NationStar or Mr. Cooper.

    I made my May 1, 2020, mortgage payments (I have two) on April 1. I made the payments online. Mr. Cooper applied the payment as additional principal instead of a payment. Guess what - this has happened in the past as well. They have added a new feature to this mismanagement - the run around. I have called twice and emailed once. Result: Two promises to fix the problem in 24-48 hours (result of the calls, each a week apart) and one email response that says it will take them 7 days to investigate and another 7-10 days to respond. COME ON! Is this service? It's simple - you misapplied the payment. Fix it!

    Mr. Cooper acquired my mortgage from another organization and I was paying that mortgage through them. When I was watching the rates, they dropped and I found that to be a great user experience.     Mr Cooper purchased my loan from another company promised to be the best mortgage company. I have never been late on a payment since I purchased my house because of this virus I asked to defer a couple of payments. The letter they sent me to supposedly help me said, "This is not a deferment. At the end of 3 months your payment will become due. If you can’t pay the 3 months contact us so we can get your payments current." Then at the bottom of the page is all the little print like you could get higher interest charges and things like that. I will not be taking their help. I will find a way to pay them and as soon as I can I will refinance with a better company. This company is trying to take advantage of people who are hurting. If you're going for a mortgage stay away from this company.

My rate right now is halfway decent. It could have been another or a half-point lower, even a quarter-point. It’s a big difference in a loan ’cause interest rates, I know federals went down to zero. I know we don't get a zero rate but they might give a little bit extra, ’cause the banks get money out. There was no contact during the process. Every time I asked a question, there’s no feedback. That was basically one or two times and the loan officer would not even return my calls.

    I had more questions. I know the federal and banks are totally different, but I found a little bit of difference on the back and I wasn’t sure. When interest rates went low, I just wanted a simple question before my escrow closed, “Could we change the interest rate?” I got no feedback. Nobody had called me back. I left a message for the rep too, and he did not give me a call back either. There was no communication back and forth. All they wanna do is close the loan real fast, say, “Have a good life,” and get over with it. I wasn’t too happy this time with this mortgage. I won’t deal with Mr. Cooper anymore.

    I got a VA loan through Veterans United and after going through them, they sold my loan to Mr. Cooper. I got a phone call saying the VA streamline loans are doing really well now, so refinancing would lower our APR. Mr. Cooper's reps kept in touch with us every other day. Refinancing with them was a little fast but overall it was a good experience. I haven't had to make our house payment in two months which has been a benefit for me.

    Mr. Cooper was the one that took my mortgage when I bought my house back in May. My mortgage is seven months old, and I refinanced with them because I watched the market and everything was telling me to refinance if I had a high rate above 7%. They did well in getting things done and they always contacted me by phone to keep me updated on the procedures, where it it was, and the status. Versus the old mortgage company I had, Mr. Cooper has an app. I can pay through the app. They also have the option to go paperless, which I do to make it more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly. They, however, did not pull my credit report because my credit report in the six to seven months went up 350 points. My rates would have been a lot lower if they checked my credit report, which has been checked since I bought the house back in June 21st. So, it went up a lot. Nevertheless, my payment is about $210 less, a month.

    My mortgage with another bank was sold to Mr. Cooper. Since I’ve been with them, I’ve been extremely satisfied with the company. I wished I had known that they were out there sooner. Their rep was very friendly and he made the refinancing super simple for me. He was very thorough, to the point and he answered all my questions. The refinancing knocked down my payment by some and it allowed me to put a little bit of cash in the bank. During this terrible time, I was able to bypass two mortgage payments which helped.
