I've had an account with Mr. Cooper for 15 years and so far, so good. When I did my refinance, the rep explained everything and left his number. He touchbases with me.

I dealt with Shelly and she walked me through everything. Every time I had a question, I could call her. If she wasn't there, she'd get back to me as soon as she got my message on her phone. The payment went down a little bit so I was happy about that. I'm also glad that Mr. Cooper was able to take care of the refinancing as quick as they did.

Everything's been good. The payments went up a little bit but that's because we put a little equity out. That way, we could use it to put into the house and I got to put a roof on the front porch.

Mr. Cooper sent me a notice that I was eligible for a refinance. I called that number and they set the process into play quickly. I worked with a guy named Joel. Since I have no emails, cellphone, and debit cards, everything we did was by phone and he took care of everything perfectly. If you called him, he would get back to you. He's real happy working from home and that kind of gives them the timeline that they can take care of it when they have a spare minute. Whereas, if they're sitting in an office, they're pressured to get immediate stuff done. We closed within two to three weeks. I had a fairly high payment and I chose it that way years ago. We've dropped my payments where I could go ahead and add money into my account. I've been very happy with Mr. Cooper and I have passed their name on to a couple of potential buyers.

The process was smooth. Jerry ** was extremely helpful. I would recommend Mr Cooper to my family and friends. I have refinance in the past and this was by far my best experience. All my questions were answered in a timely manner.

Fantastic customer service. Easy as “pie” when applying for refi up to and including closing. We are longtime customers of Nationstar dba; Mr. Cooper. We’d like and suggest to drop Mr. Cooper and revert back to Nationstar. We feel Nationstar is more prestigious.

Our refinance was the best experience. He was so thorough. In the middle of our refi, we changed to take some cash out and Chris worked with us and was able to keep the agreement all the same. Plus it was the fastest closing ever.

Our original purchase money mortgage was with Nationstar (now Mr. Cooper). Our refinance loan was with Mr. Cooper. And so we thought that another refinance to take some cash out of our very large equity would be simple. Mr. Cooper put us through a very difficult and lengthy process. First they wanted to know about our "private road." We live in the same gated community we have been in since 2012. Then it was prove where your income source is - I have been retired since 2013 and never missed a payment. They made us show three different ways we were receiving our income, and one of them we had to prove twice. I told them I wanted the money by a date certain - 30 days after application. They missed that date by almost two weeks. I will never use or recommend Mr. Cooper again!

Was hard to contact anyone when questions came up. Did not return emails or phone calls. The original case worker went on vacation and the girl that took his place did not respond to email or phone calls until the end. She did apologize.

Just finished refinancing my home for lower rate and cash out. Overall experience was great, Start to finish was about 21 days. Communication was excellent as I had 2 persons to contact if needed; my initial contact plus the loan processor. I was able to upload all necessary documents without endless photocopying or faxing and the online email communication was fantastic as it always let me know where I stood in the process or if anything else was needed. Easiest mortgage process I have ever been through.

This is the second time we've refinanced with Mr. Cooper. They've been communicative, clear and expedite the process well. My only complaint would be the repeated calls asking us to refi even after we were in process or done. Just need to fix the sales system.

I was not as happy as I thought I would be. I was constantly hounded by the representative with phone calls and emails. There was no reason to contact me as much as he did. I was required to send documentation more than once to more than one person. This also was not necessary. I was disappointed the interest rate was not lower. I see all over the internet and news about very low interest rates and mine didn't drop much. If I refinance again I will search out lower rates from another lender.

The two ladies who I dealt with for my recent refinance at Mr. Copper were absolutely top notch - Anna ** and Annie **. I had "put off" my refinance because, based on prior experiences, I thought it would require too much legwork on my part, but that was not the case. Mr Cooper has been extremely helpful and reasonable through the entire home buying process and then offered me 2 refinances and saved me hundreds of dollars a month dropping my percent 1.5 percent in the last two years. Great company, no issues, no problems, I would definitely recommend them.

The lack of diligence, accurate follow-up, and proactive customer service was breathtaking. This place is rampant with incompetence and there is zero coordination between the different people you get passed around to in the loan process. I have truly never had such a disaster of an experience with an institution. From application to post-closing, things were a disaster in nearly a dozen different ways.
Our attempts to have managers or supervisors assist in correcting the problems were unsuccessful. I even sent an email outlining our concerns and experiences to the Consumer Affairs email address provided and never received a single reply from anyone addressing the widespread issues that we had run up the flagpole. I have no faith or trust in this company and wish that I had refinanced with a trusted local broker so that Mr. Cooper would no longer be our servicer. I wish I could give zero stars. Highly recommend NOT using Mr. Cooper if you have the choice.

Refinancing my loan was just completed, and the reps were great. I've refinanced with Mr. Cooper a couple different times to get a lower interest rate, and they have taken the time to understand what I wanted to accomplish and were able to facilitate those requests quickly. They're easy to work with. They've got the app, so I can do business with them at my convenience. They make it simple for me to consolidate everything that I need to, so it's been great for me.

We did the streamline last month. I wasn’t pleased with the ones that we worked with then. The one that we dealt with first, the one that called and went over everything with us, sometimes wouldn't return my calls. And he didn't call me when he was supposed to when he had updates. I had to call him. Other than that, he was fine.
The loan processor was my main problem. He never called to tell me what was going on. And I still don't know what's going on about my new loan. He didn’t call me until I finally called and he answered. I would call and leave him a message. And the next day, I never heard from him. I called the next day, then the next day, he would answer. He never returned the call. Normally, Mr. Cooper would go over everything with me on the phone when something changed when the process is going on. And I got different reports. Like we always skip a month when we do this. It ended up we didn't get to skip a month this time for some reason. They said because we paid our July payment and we closed at the end of the month. I was told that the day before we were supposed to close.
When I called them to see what was going on, when it was paid out, they said they didn't even transfer my escrow to my new loan. I said, “You're kidding me.” She said, “No. We sent you a check out with your escrow on it.” I haven't got that check, and that was supposed to have been sent out on the 29th. So, I don’t know if it’s in my new escrow account or not. Because the dude never went over any of that with me. And I haven't got my new statement to pay September’s payment. The other times we refinanced were fine. I’m assuming that the dude was new and didn't know what was what.

Everything fell into place. As far as knowing that it was happening and that it was being funded, that happened quickly. While the initial person was in the office, he was on top of it and told me he was on leave for a week and that he would put a couple of people in charge of this account. One was a young lady and some other young man. Nobody skipped a beat. So, something tells me Mr. Cooper's operation is well backed up. They should advertise in the VA publications because so many people have a difficult time with their VA loans. And the way they ran it, you would have never known that to be true. They did it in rapid order, and moved on to the next thing. They did a very good job for me.

I left a couple of phone calls to Britanny over a question I had after everything was over with. But she never got back to me. Ivan answered them and took care of it. I gave them my girlfriend's email, as I don't have one, and then I told them this was only for this and it's not to be used after that as this was only done as a favor, but they kept sending emails to her phone. It got to the point where every least little thing was sent like, “Hi, Bertha. This is Mr. Cooper.” As of now, they finally stopped sending. Also, they sent the check to me for Swiss Colony for $21 and that bill was paid. I called the company and they said I gotta get in touch with my mortgage company. I got Ivan and he said that I gotta email. I told him that I do not have one and the email I gave them was my girlfriend's own and since Mr. Cooper sent so many things to her, she will not do anything email-wise for me.
The biggest problem with Mr. Cooper is you never know what state you're talking to and if you have to follow up on something, you talk to one person, then when you call back, it's somebody else, and you gotta start all over again. Like now, they would pay my property taxes, which were due August the 1st. But our town extended it to August 25th before any interest in that was done. I had talked to Mr. Cooper about it and they said they are going to pay it before that.
I always check on that because all my property taxes come through, I get a copy for the four quarters for my record saying, “This is not a bill,” which tells me the original bill's being sent to my mortgage company. When I get property tax bills that don't say, “This is not a bill,” there's a problem, then I call Mr. Cooper. I call my tax office first and they tell me they needed some sort of paper. Whoever I talked to didn't have any idea about it. I told them that since I've been with Mr. Cooper, it's been paid over time. But it was finally taken care of. Now, there's a different company that handles that, it's not Mr. Cooper anymore. Overall, I’m very satisfied. They are a very good company.

Mr. Cooper offered a good rate. Refinancing was easy. I did most of it through email and a couple of phone calls. The notary came to my home and took care of things. The process was just a couple of weeks. I didn't have a whole lot of time, so if it was going to take a lot of time, I would have not gone through it. But since it did not take a long time, it worked out really well.

For the most part, Mr. Cooper's process was pretty simple and I'm very happy with them. The only thing we had trouble with was the paperwork. They changed a lot of stuff since I refinanced three years ago and we weren't prepared for some of that. But we got it straightened out eventually. Make sure you have everything as far as the paperwork all ready to go. It makes the process a lot simpler.

I worked with a guy named Ricky and asked him how much the settlement would be and he said $2,900. But when I got all the paperwork, I only got $7,800. By the time I looked at all these figures, I only owed 36,000 on my past mortgage and then I was up to 51. That was awfully expensive for $7,000. But I couldn't worry -- it was done. Other than that, everything is going all right so far. Mr. Cooper was very efficient and they were on top of things.

The customer service of Mr. Cooper was very good. The only issue was with the people who were coming in to do the signing. There was something wrong with their original appointment, and then they forgot all about the second appointment. I had to call them and they sent somebody else out. The owner of the company came out that night, almost three hours after the scheduled appointment. But everybody from Mr. Cooper was very good.

Our biggest problem was after everything was done, and following up to make sure that the credit card company stopped their check. But we got things paid off so that worked out good. Refinancing seemed like a good thing to do. It solved all of our problems.

I was contacted by Mr. Cooper my current home mortgage company interested in doing a refinance. They got my rate lower and my representative Peter said there would be no closing cost. When the loan closed on June 6 I had to write a check for $1350 for closing cost, it’s been eight weeks now and my home insurance was never paid for my escrow account for my original loan, I was promised two months deferred Before my next home mortgage payment and that did not happen. I have a payment due the following month! I’ve talked with customer service over six weeks ago and these issues have still not been resolved.
The loan originator Peter, has been asked by me through customer service to call to correct these issues. No resolution as today. I regret doing this refi with Mr. Cooper. I would be very cautious of doing any refinancing with him in the future. I’m very disappointed on how very unprofessional this company has been to me over the last 8 to 10 weeks.

Worse customer service. Spoke to 6 different people and told no worries. Property taxes will be paid on time and if not Mr. Cooper will pay the late fees and my escrow account will not be charged the late fee. Took them 3 months to pay them and they charged my escrow account for the late fees. Now I was told that my escrow account will not be reimbursed. So 6 people tell me the same thing and the lady today tells me that those people were incorrect in telling me what they said. HMMM I call **. Had the same problem years ago with them when they were Nationstar. I wish my original lender didn't sell my loan to them.

Save yourself the grief and disappointment and don't do business with Mr. Cooper. Let me explain. Person's Involved in our Refi Journey: Emily **, Carolina **, Mandi **, Austin **, Eric **. We have been a customer of Mr. Cooper since 2012, when we secured a 30-year refi loan. Our journey to refinance our existing loan began on or about February 26, 2021. Previously, we had shopped around, but a favorable loan rate and loyalty to the company, we chose; Mr. Cooper. We uploaded all the requested documents in a timely manner. (Which many sat in the “In Review” digital box for months) The appraisal on our home was completed on March 2nd. Thereafter, we were conditionally approved.
We found are “first” loan processor, Emily **, to be unresponsive to our questions. Emails went unanswered for weeks at a time. On or about March, we learned Emily was “no longer with the company.” Enter our “second “ loan processor, Carolina **. We found Carolina to a bit more responsive than Emily. As the journey dragged on, days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, it seemed the process had stalled. We learned from Carolina there was a issue with the title to our home. We provided a little house history and additional documents and that seem to resolve the title issue. (We never were given an explanation about how the issue was resolved. Though, Carolina told us Mandi ** had gone to the Title Company and “argued for us.”)
Two days later, we receive a “Notice of Incomplete Application” letter. We reached out to Carolina and she told us to disregard the letter. Thereafter, we sent emails to Carolina inquiring about the status of our loan. We were lucky to receive a reply within a week. As we entered July, (five months since we began the process) we received/ reviewed and signed off on the Disclosure Documents.
A few days later we received a letter notifying us that our loan application had been denied because of; “Credit Application Incomplete. “ Speaking with Austin **, he shared with us he had never seen this before. We spoke to his manager, Eric **, who told us since the appraisal of our home was four months old, (not our fault) it needed to be re-certified. But they couldn't find anyone to do the task! (We live in the San Francisco Bay Area!) So, they sent us the denial letter and closed our file. That's how you treat a existing loyal customer!

Refinancing with Mr. Cooper was fine. Everything worked within 30 days. When we got to closing, having the notary come out to finalize all the papers was great because we didn't have to go anywhere else. The only thing was, sometimes, even though their system shows you what level of progress you are, I get emails when something needs to be signed and it was less. At first, I didn't quite understand even though it was spelled out for me. But after I got the hang of it, then it was no problem.

What I did was I transferred a loan that was in my mother's name to my name. She passed away. However, Mr. Cooper wouldn't let me just switch it over. They said I had to refinance it. When I get emails from Mr. Cooper telling me there are no documents in my account, I usually get the email before the documents for my account. Other than that, everything went pretty smoothly. I was hoping the rate was a bit better. But it's a lot less than what my mother was paying.

We bought our house in October 2019. When the pandemic started we put our mortgage in forbearance-that was our first mistake. Getting it out of forbearance was almost impossible. The amount of time I spent on the phone, emailing, in tears trying to get someone who knew what was going on-surprise-nobody does. I do not blame the customer service reps-but the company is a joke, I have no idea how they are in business, and if they respond with the canned line of "I cannot express my sadness" to my review I may puke.
We have done finally 3 months of trial payments completed on May 1, 2021 so we can complete the loan modification and start paying our mortgage. It has been almost 60 days and I have not been able to pay my mortgage. We received a statement about debt collection and fear they are going to force us into foreclosure even though we have the money to start paying the mortgage today. Mr. Cooper at best is incompetent and at the worst they are fraudulent, I wish someone would wipe them off the map. They are total scammers. Fingers crossed we finish the loan modification and can switch our mortgage to a new company-I have been on the phone with my lawyer and are waiting to see what happens next. I really don't understand how I can call a company that manages my mortgage and spend dozens of hours on the phone and no one can tell me what is going on besides "I will escalate it up the chain" blah blah ... such utter lies. I would not recommend this company to my mortal enemy.

The loan folks at Mr. Cooper were very professional and knowledgeable, no complaints there at all, at least with the two that I dealt with. The total turn around time from the start of the loan application to the final conclusion was way too long, in excess of 3 months. The major delay was because of the Home Appraisal being way off and the appraiser coming back and still getting the figures wrong! He even took a copy of an appraisal that was completed in 2009 on our property and ended up basically copying that appraisal. The 2009 appraisal was completed prior to new siding, new windows, new doors and insulation. The final figure was the same as the 2009 appraisal even when the housing market is up 15-20% from 2009. I personally worked in the financial world for over 45 years, completing home values/ repair figures etc. so am very well aware of the prices of homes. Thanks much. Hope you have a great day.

Clay did good, but the loan thing was a pain. I got good credit. I made copies of my paycheck and my W2 form and sent that in. Two days later, I got paid, then two days after that, they said, “Oh, can you take and fax me another pay stub?” I said, “What? You just got four of my other ones.” “Well, we need the recent one for State of Ohio.” I said, “Really now? Okay.” After we finally got that straightened, everything went fine. With the lower interest rate, I’m saving 200 bucks a month and that’s helped.

When the rate changed, Mr. Cooper sent something in the mail, so we went ahead and did it. On the initial call, I got somebody quick, but the communication was a little difficult after that. We were waiting for weeks and weeks to hear back from the loan person and she never got the message because of the new phone system. We had to restart again. If Mr. Cooper is having major transitions from something to another, there needs to be a backup plan in case things don't go right. Even with that though, our experience was still good. The lower interest helped our payment come down, and we'll be able to pay the loan off sooner.

An absolute cluster F of a company. We started our refinance process 91 days ago. We were approved and locked in for a 15 year after the initial application and we paid for a $500 appraisal. The loan went into the next step and we were given Delilah ** as the account manager. Delilah "lost" our paperwork and the loan sat for over a month. When things were set again she cut all contact but I kept getting emails wanting me to sign new loan documents. Each week I got a document with a higher interest rate. After I called her out on it, no emails or calls were answered and that includes emails from Ernest the loan officer we worked with. I now have to pay for another appraisal as we have finally started the process over with another company. I'm not sure why I gave them so long but I would never recommend them. Worse than Wells Fargo.

I will never again refinance my mortgage with Mr. Cooper. It was a nightmare. My taxes were due June 1, 2021 and were not paid during the closing and after a lot of calls, and emails it was done about a month later. I was put through a lot of different feeling this past month. The staff at MR Cooper need more training on how to help customers more proficiently. Even my escrow acct balance was figure out wrong, and my mortgage will increase in just two month, that's pathetical. I was given Escrow money back. That should have been left in my account to cover the gap. I had a very bad experience all around. Never again!

Our loan was sold on the house and it was sold to Mr. Cooper and we've had nothing but pleasantness through them. They sent us something about refinancing and that's when we started the process. We got a call from a guy named Josh and he said we could lower our interest rate if we wanted to pursue it again so we did. They answered all of our questions. They contacted us quite frequently or if we had any other questions to please let them know when they would handle it. The process took about two weeks. We refinanced last year so they had all the information. They needed some stuff that we updated and it went very fast. They explained everything to us and I actually learned a lot that I didn't know about it. The attorney that came out to do the closing was awesome too. The refinance lowered our payment quite substantially and so it's been a wonderful experience.

The application process was a little long but that was to be expected. There was a lot of paperwork. But other than that, everybody was helpful and got us through their process expediently. We had skipped payment for a month and we're using that money to go on our vacation. So, Mr. Cooper gives a little more money to spend there. Steve and Joe were really great with me. Anything I wanted, they were very helpful. I didn’t have a computer, so we did it another way through the phone. They knew what to ask and knew what to get. They even followed up on it too. They told me that the refinance was at 11 years to pay off but I could do it at 15. I asked what if I pay these bills off, or if I bump up the payment, and how much more I would have to pay it off in 10 years. They said that I would have to give another 475 a month and I could do that. They said it would take five years off that loan and so we did it. I just have to pay a bit more money out of my pocket but that’s okay. Everything was done great. I have a friend that I work with who has his own mortgage and paying really high interest. I told him to talk to Mr. Cooper and see what they could do for him.

I'm trying to refinance with another lender. Underwriting flagged the application because my current Mr. Cooper statements show "forbearance". I called Mr. Cooper, the account is not in forbearance, never was. They gave me an explanation that it's actually just biweekly payments and is normal and can't be removed. Went back to the underwriter and they said no way, no how should the word forbearance be on any statement that isn't in forbearance.
I did some homework and they are right, it should not be there. This is holding up my refinance and additionally, the new lender said this is reckless because if the account is reported as in forbearance it affects your credit score. I called Mr. Cooper back and have been on hold for an hour so I'm writing this review. There's currently a class action suit against Wells Fargo for putting customer's accounts into forbearance without consent, apparently, the lenders get government money for that. Seems very shady to me.

Mr. Cooper had a whole online process, so it made it easy to upload files and track the progress of the thing, and it was straightforward. And then, the reps answered all of our questions and got it done quick. Even the signing, they had a person come to my office. They made it very convenient for us. Our monthly payment went up because we went from 30 to a 15. But we're going to save money overall. It's tied into our overall goal of trying to get that house paid off before we retire. The intention is to be completely debt-free by the time I retire in 15 years.

They walked me right through it. I've refinanced before, so I know the procedures. They were very helpful this time. Last time I was lost in the woods and it was a nightmare. I thought, "I'll never do this again." But I knew I could never get my interest rates as low as they are now. It was a wonderful experience with them. It was the easiest thing I've ever done. Mr. James is our loan processor. He's nice. I thought my payment for my mortgage was late because I'm doing it by online banking, and the bank made a mistake. Instead of 13, they made it as 19. I said, "Oh, I will be late." I called Mr. Cooper, and then James said, "Okay, maybe we'll delete it. And maybe we'll accept your payment, so do not be late." And then he told me about this refinancing. He said, "It's lower than your interest, and then your car will be paid off." You can rely on Mr. Cooper. They are courteous and they explain to you all the options. I also have my second house in Reno, the renter house. They are refinancing our house too and they are still in process. They have a good job. I can recommend them to my friends and family.

Mr. Cooper's reps knew what they were doing. Those women were on top of it. The only problem I had was with the gentleman who came to my house to do the closing. He was very unprofessional. It was disappointing too after dealing with the two women. He was not professionally dressed, he had stains on his shirt, and he looked like he just got out of bed. Also, he didn't take the time to explain anything to me. He just slipped through all his stuff like he had a lunch date. I made a comment to him. And then I asked him if he could give me a copy of the paperwork so I could go over it. He said, "Oh, I'll email it to you." I don't do email. So he said, "Well, I'll send it to you." And then he said he would drop it off on that Friday, but he never came. Then I called him again. Finally, he came by and put it in my mailbox, but I didn't care for him at all. Other than that, I had a very pleasant experience.

Mr. Cooper did what they were supposed to do. They did it in a timely manner. It was handled well. The one representative that we spoke to originally has incredibly bad phone etiquette. When I would call to talk to him, he would interrupt me constantly. I could hardly get a sentence out. He would talk over me. I'm 70 years old. I found that a little frustrating. It was tense. But he seemed to know what he was doing. He seemed to be capable.

Refinancing with Mr. Cooper was great! Easy process and great follow up on your part. Newly arrived in the USA from Canada 3 years ago. My previous experience when I first bought a home was horrible! Everything basically went wrong... So when I reached out to Joey, I was already hesitant but mentally prepared for what I thought would be a complex process all over again... but nope... it was an easy process all the way until closing.

I financed my home loan, and then a year later refinanced that loan, both transactions occurring with Mr. Cooper. The company was a dream to deal with. My favorite aspect was their website and mobile App. It’s clear they spent a lot of time and effort on these and the resulting attention to detail shows that they nailed it. On the occasions I had to interact with a Mr. Cooper employee, they were always professional, polite, and prompt in their replies. The whole experience (both times) was basically flawless. Mr. Cooper’s people were great, very helpful, patient and knowledgeable of the process but the underwriter got confused on our trailer even though it was put in by Mr. Cooper correctly. We had a trailer that we bought and we had a loan on it. It was for our fair projects. The underwriter did not understand what it would be used for and we had to do three explanations. But it wasn’t Mr. Cooper’s fault. The guy who called us was very nice and it was a good experience.

We are on a bi weekly payment plan so we can make an extra payment every year on our loan. We are being told the only way to accomplish this is through autopay. There needs to be another option for biweekly payments other than autopay. When we send our payments in every two weeks the funds are never applied correctly and shows we still owe on our payment even though the whole payments was sent before the due date. We end up having to call to have them fixed and applied correctly. Can another option be put into place so we don't continue to have these issues?

This last refinancing with Mr. Cooper was good and I'd do it again. The first time, the bank forgot something and I had to redo everything again. That was not easy. I was ready to go with somebody else but Mr. Cooper tried to convince me to stay and I did.

Mr. Cooper's rate was higher than the others but I didn't want to put myself in a position where three to six months down the road, I ended up with the same rate. I went through the refinance and it was a faster process. With the other competitors, I was looking at a three to six-month time frame. Everything went well with Mr. Cooper. The information was informative and the first rep that I was speaking with kept me up-to-date and followed up via phone and email if there needed to be anything that I needed to complete. He was patient as well.

I called Mr. Cooper and talked to a guy named Martin. He supported me with whatever issue it was then started asking me if I knew about refinancing offers at the time. I wasn't planning on doing a refinance because we just bought the house two years ago but when he started talking to me about the rates that were available and the money that we would save, we talked more about it. He made the experience very easy and every single question I had, no matter when, he was able to help me out with it. Mr. Cooper gave us some money back because when they refinanced, they overcharged on the mortgage. Also, we're saving $258 a month on mortgage which is excellent. It's a great feeling. I felt like I was in control of the entire process and didn't feel pressured at all.

After a completely failed 1st attempt at our REFI in January, we were contacted and asked why we didn't complete the first offer. After a lengthy discussion they offered another chance to apply for a REFI and EVERYTHING went through so quickly! Almost too quickly... I believe I should have qualified for a slightly lower rate but everything was moving SO fast, I felt like I didn't have a chance to properly shop the rate. When I tried to discuss my concerns with the loan originator, I was shut down pretty hard and was basically told just be happy with what we got.
True, it was almost a 1.5% savings off our original loan but I just feel I left at least .25% on the table. Very nice people all the way through the process and we closed in less than 30 days so, that part of experience went very well. My only advice is to find the time.... MAKE the time to shop for THE BEST RATE!! We're very happy overall but there will always be that little voice telling me I could have, AND should have done a better job at securing the very best rate for me and my family. Jim **

Everyone involved was informative. They talked me all through the process and it was easy to administer everything through emails and online through the Mr. Cooper website. But at the very end, the paperwork didn't get put all the way through so we had to re-sign everything again. Also, at closing, we ended up paying $36 and we missed out on $300-something. But it all worked and I got a couple of checks sent to us.

We already had a mortgage with Mr. Cooper and we just refinanced with them. The person we worked with was responsive to our questions and responded to emails immediately as well. She even was pretty helpful from the standpoint that since we had just recently done an appraisal on the house, she got us a appraisal waiver as well. We were pretty happy with all the things she has done for us.
We had a couple of hiccups with the closing process. There were scheduling issues with this third-party closing company that Mr. Cooper selected. We had decided on a time, and then the time for closing and the date for closing somehow abruptly changed. We received a different time communication from the closing company than what Mr. Cooper had told us. Then, we thought that we had signed everything back. Three days back, the lady came and said that she missed another document signing from us, as they had not received that document. She came back three days after, and then we had to do that closing again. It was a little clunky compared to some of the other closings we've done before.

On this specific refinance, the process went smoothly. But prior to this, I had a really hard time trying to get it done which would have saved me a lot more money. I got screwed over because of the forbearance plan. Because I went through the forbearance, Mr. Cooper didn't let me do a refinance even though all of my payments have been on time. They said I'd have to wait a year. After I had called several times, they came out of the blue and said they were gonna lower my interest rate by 0.8% which makes up for that but it was still a headache to get to that point. Mr. Cooper acknowledged the fact that it was their own employee that made the mistake but they would not fix it. The only way to contact Mr. Cooper and do any sort of review about this whole situation was writing a physical letter. There was no email or anybody above the manager that could call me and I could talk to.

I have 2 loans on my property and Mr. Cooper is my 2nd mortgage on the property. When the loan was transferred to Mr. Cooper, a balloon payment was attached. Back in Feb, I started an application for a refinance on my 1st and 2nd with Mr. Cooper. At the time the specialist who was helping me, said it could be done so I trusted him on his word. After the application was completed, I supplied all the necessary paperwork they asked for, from pay stubs, taxes, title, etc etc. Anyways, I was informed that it would be closed out at the end of March by the underwriter. So the end of March comes around and I have not heard anything from them, so I contacted them, so April comes around and no one has informed me to keep paying my mortgage, so I took it upon myself to pay both, well I paid the first but when I go in to pay the 2nd, it will not allow me because of the balloon payment. Meanwhile, still have not heard anything from them.
It seem I have to initiate the communication with the personnel assisting me. So after I couldn't pay it online, I call to try to pay it thru Mr. Cooper and they cannot process my payment for April because of the balloon payment. I finally get an email sent to me telling me that they cannot change the balloon payment date and now since I have missed my April payment, they can't do anything for me. So basically, my credit report get hit with a missed payment as well as Mr. Cooper telling me that since you missed your payment (because of them), we can't do anything for you. This has been a bad experience with communication and it was not handled professionally at all. I wanted to work with Mr. Cooper but after this, I just want to be done with them and move on.

The gentleman with Mr. Cooper was super helpful and the process was super simple. I did everything over the phone. They pulled everything up then everything was done electronically. The fact that once we were able to close, they could come to us for the notary and signing made it much easier. The only thing was the closing costs were high but other than that, the customer service was good.

I got a letter from another mortgage company about a lower rate so I called Mr. Cooper and see if they can match it and they did. The rep I work with is good at explaining the process. He took the time to go through each of the steps and explained the paperwork and everything involved with it. Mr. Cooper was very informative and kept me abreast of what was going on. If I had any questions, they were very patient. When I couldn't get them and I left messages, they'd always call back so I have no problem with them. I'm also happy because when I called to check my escrow, the rep explained and talked me into the advantage of going with a 15-year mortgage and how much I would save. I cut off two years off my mortgage down to a 15-year and my interest rate went from 6% to 2.7. Every little bit helped the mortgage drop. If my friends were looking for a house, I would refer them to Mr. Cooper right away, at least to compare whoever they were considering.

The reps are very hands-on. They had an outline as they talked. The appraiser came out and did her part and so did the notary. Everything was great as if they were here in town. But Mr. Cooper turned my paperwork over to someone else so I am waiting to hear from that company. They could have warned me that that could happen for me to know what my next steps are. I need to call Mr. Cooper and ask, “At this point, who do I pick?” I have a bill to pay Mr. Cooper next month, but I got this paper saying someone else has taken over my paperwork.

Our loan was transferred to Mr. Cooper in 2014 so we decided to stay with the company when we refi'd. It was the most awful experience, very, very difficult to get anyone to call or email back. First time homebuyers beware, you will not be dealing with people who know what they are doing and you will be lost in the process. And now, after we finally closed a month ago on the refi our checking account is still being debited the bi weekly payment from our closed loan. Had called about this 2 weeks ago, was assured the problem was resolved, clearly it is not. Tried calling and the automated system said there were too many calls and hung up on me. You will be very frustrated if you choose this company for your mortgage needs.

Very disappointed with loan processing. The only time movement has been done on the loan is after I ask, ask and ask for update on the loan process. We are now 71 days into the loan process. Mr. Cooper was already our provider, so we assumed that just refinancing with them would make things easier. There were constant phone calls and follow-ups. Then at times, they just weren't available. They're calling from California and I'm in Indiana. There was no consideration for time or the fact that we had to work. The refinancing took about a couple weeks. It was okay until they sold our mortgage out of the blue to Fannie Mae, the people that got sued for ripping people off for college loans. We got a letter from Fannie Mae two days ago and then the day after, we got a letter from Mr. Cooper telling us that the mortgage had been sold. I didn't intend on signing a new agreement with somebody only for them to sell it to a company that is notoriously terrible.

I was at a 30 and wanted to consolidate a little bit and go with the 15. The pre-qualification was very good as far as communication goes, phone, and email. I was able to call and get someone on the line if I had a question and it was answered. The phone app is great too. Just the explanation of the whole process, especially during the loan process, the things that I needed to do, and there was a checklist there so I could check in with it on my phone without having to get in touch with anyone. I was able to keep up with it myself. I got a lower interest rate and I was able to free up some money.

But when they moved me over to the next person, she wanted all this paperwork. Also, the person who came to finalize the paperwork missed a page so he had to get that taken care of. It was not the smoothest of long processes I've ever been through.

Absolutely the worst lender. And I deal with many. This lender withheld property taxes through escrow acct. in the amt of $5,460. Taxes were due 3/1/21. They did not pay taxes due. They blamed it on the storm in Texas which took place months ago. I just refinanced the property and prior to closing asked them to submit payment. They did not. April 10th came around. I called and asked if they would send payment in and was told they will mail a refund which will take approx 20 days for me to receive. With taxes due in 2 days. I had to send payment in out of my pocket. Now waiting on a refund which will arrive in approx 3 weeks. Absolute clowns. Stay away from them if you can. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT VALUE CUSTOMERS! ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS AND THEY CARRY NO VALUE!

Everything was quick, fast and very simple with the reps at Mr. Cooper when I was refinancing. They were great. Everybody was super professional and went above and beyond to help me understand the paperwork and track down when we had an issue trying to get our cash back from refinance. Mr. Cooper handled my loan really well and I'm comfortable with them. I was thinking about doing a refinance and Steve from Mr. Cooper called me and offered me a great deal. They didn't have the lower interest rates among eight different offers I had but theirs was competitive and Steve sold the thing. It's been three years with Mr. Cooper so I wasn't gonna change for an eighth of a point. All I needed was my new W2s and my latest pay stub. I sent them in and I was approved. Everything went really smoothly.

We had a mortgage through Mr. Cooper. I was at 3.75 and I had heard that 2.5% was where things were at, so I was looking to get our mortgage to 2.5%. When I first inquired, I inadvertently made two inquiries and one was online. When I told the first person that got back to me that I was looking to do a refi and get a better rate, he checked and said they couldn't beat the rate that I was at. So Mr. Cooper wasn't gonna be able to do it and I just shrugged it off. Shortly thereafter, Manny from Mr. Cooper contacted me. But I had already committed to another outfit and I told him that. Manny asked me to give him a chance and he was gonna check to see what he could do. Then he came back and he said that they could meet it. Every step of the way, he was able to meet with what our competitor had brought out. Plus, there's a difference of $50 between the two in the long run.
During the refinancing, everything went super well. Mr. Cooper has the process figured out and they make it pretty simple. They know how to reach out and prod you along and make sure that you're staying on top of things. So we got a better interest rate and lower payment. There wasn't any worry or concern. Mr. Cooper did something when we talked, and we closed in three weeks. If I cooperated, they cooperated. They asked for documents, I sent them. They did their part, I did mine. Everything went good. I got some documents a couple of days ago and everything is fine.

Mr. Cooper's guidance was accurate and easy to understand. Everything went very smooth and easy. I'm going to have a reduction in the amount of years that it's gonna take me to pay off the loan.
