I stayed with Mr. Cooper because they were so good with everything they did and said. My loan rep told me everything that was going on step by step. It was very nice. I told my girl friend, "Why don't you go with Mr. Cooper? They're the best company you can go with." She went with them too. We're retired. The house payment is really good because if anything ever happens to one of us, we can still pay our mortgage. That's what we wanted to do and it worked out great.

Responsive and knowledgeable. I wish the tax forms appeared sooner. Everyone is pleasant and the web portal is easy to use, although a little slow and the comparison links do not always return results. I am satisfied and content with this lender.

Don was my rep and he was very good and knowledgeable. We had a very good experience working with him. The process was very simple. We're fortunate to have good credit and things sped along very quickly. It was done within a month. We were surprised when they wanted to close that it was that fast. Everything was sent electronically. We just filled out the questions and sent them back. The only thing was I was not happy that Mr. Cooper sold our loan. I really wanted to stay with them.

My refinance was handled through Marvin **, and he was assisted by Trish **. Both worked fast, and very efficiently, and my re-finance went through very quickly. After receiving the loan (the service up to and during the loan process was fantastic), I had questions about my monthly payments. I called and talked to a customer service person and she had no idea what I was talking about or how to answer my very simple question. Start to finish was easy and fast paced thanks to knowledge and friendly staff. Staff was willing to work with me. They took calls and kept me updated. Staff had great communication start to finish. Was able to make use of multiple kinds of contact including phone, text, email, and mobile app. All forms very useful and user-friendly.

I was denied at another bank but Mr. Cooper found a way to make it happen. I wasn’t able to get the cash but I was able to pay off major debt and increase my credit scores and save money monthly. This was the best decision I made.

There was a nice gentleman by the name of Hank from Texas. He put me through the whole process, and told me exactly what it entailed. And that was when I decided just to go forward. He was very thorough. Because I know that everything’s in the computer. He would hesitate and say, “Well, let me look at that.” So he would find the answer, and he would tell me exactly. I would ask him something else. And I know he went back to the computer. I knew that he was doing his job thoroughly. So, I was very satisfied. I haven't gotten any paperwork pertaining to the new system, or if it went into effect. But the other one was closed. And I was supposed to get some more paperwork and I haven’t received anything. Outside of that, everything looks very good. And I feel very comfortable for the simple reason that my taxes and insurance are paid. And it lowered my monthly payment substantially. I’m very satisfied with the whole process.

The portal is easy to use to do everything online. I can log in to the portal and pay my mortgage. The refinancing process went pretty quick. Our mortgage went back to a 30-year loan, which is kind of, “Ugh.” But the refinance lowers your payment with a lower interest rate. We'll make it up on the back end.

I got something in the mail explaining that it's a good time to refinance based on where the market was. I reached out to Mr. Cooper and it sounded very good to me so I decided to go with that. Customer service was pretty awesome and they answered everything that I requested. Everything was speedy and everybody worked well together. It was a very good experience and I had no issues throughout the whole process. I got a very good deal.

I've been with Mr. Cooper for a while now. I ended up doing a streamline refinance after six months with the new loan because interest rates had dropped. The application process went smoothly and it took a month or a little bit less. Everybody was good and they kept me informed. Even after I got passed on to the next person in line, the initial gentleman that started the process told me that I can call him at any time throughout the process. After the process was done, he sent a thank you letter for doing business with them.

I recently had a flood at my house. My insurance company State Farm sent me a check. I had to have Mr. Cooper sign the check. So I called Mr. Cooper to see what department and where to send the check at. Then the lady on the phone asked me how come I haven't tried to refinance with the low rates. Then that just led from one thing to another. She sent me to a department. I talked to this gentleman and he went through the whole process and everything went really smooth and turned out great. The customer service was fantastic. Whatever they said or promised, they came through. I would definitely recommend them.

I was interested in refinancing 'cause the interest rates are gonna go up and to consolidate my debt before the interest rates go up. I talked to one woman at Mr. Cooper about it. They sent me a thing saying my score was 696. Then I went somewhere else and had my credit run, because I had to cosign on a car for my daughter, and they said it was 744. Mr. Cooper might have given me a little bit higher interest rate because they said I wasn't quite 700 on my credit score. I just took their word for it. After that happened, I questioned what occurred.
Besides that, I'm pretty comfortable working with them 'cause they've been with my loan since it was sold years ago to them, and I try to make my payments ahead of time, and everything seems to be fine. My loan was sold two or three times and I didn't like it being sold. I wanted somebody who would keep it in stable. They told me that a high majority of the time, they keep their loans, that's why I wanted to go and stick with them.

I had a representative work me through online type of application, which was very helpful to me. Then I had a second level person that handled my loan that just wasn't prepared when he contacted me with information and so I didn't like that. I also didn't like that I had to repeatedly put in multiple of the same thing, which slowed the process down. He had questions for me and answers, but he spent half hour on stuff that he should have already known and some things that I had already submitted to him and asked me to resubmit things that were already delivered, so that was off-putting. But the first person really aced the deal for Mr. Cooper. His first name was James. I just like to bring credit to him. I like Mr. Cooper's customer service over the years, not just pertaining to my loan.

I called Mr. Cooper because they did something wrong with my payment. They transferred me to the first person for refinance. The rep was really nice. He was very helpful and calm. Things went wrong sometimes to the refinance but he helped me a lot. With getting the documents they need, the problem is that if you're self-employed, it becomes very hard. But if you’re a W-2 person, it's pretty simple. Mr. Cooper is a very good company. So, I would recommend people to refinance through them.

Everything with Mr. Cooper is great, the I had with my rep Chris kicking this off. We called them about another issue and we went forward with his recommendation. The gal who helped us close was fantastic as well. We didn't have to have an appraisal so that was great. We've had a couple small issues with the tax account but small things are all easily managed. We also had an issue with our automatic payment that we were doing on our side. Chris helped us do that. But it was all handled.

I have only one complaint regarding my refinance. I was told that the amount that I charged on one of my credit cards to cover the appraisal would be covered by the payoff of that account, but it wasn't. So, I still owe that amount on that card. Otherwise, I'm happy with the representatives that I talked with, and particularly Ray **, who suggested the refinance in the first place. He was very helpful and kind.

Mr. Cooper had contacted my wife initially about a refinance, and the gentleman that was working with her through that process was awesome. There was a little bit of an issue with the underwriting process though. We didn't feel that we were getting the answers in a timely fashion and some things that we needed to provide seemed a little bit out of sorts. But the gentleman helped smooth things over and expedited the process. When we got the appraisal, we realized that we had more. We didn't have to take it up to the 80% limit, but we were able to hopefully roll into another extended debt that we had had that we wanted to roll in. The original gentleman that we had was very helpful in getting that to be put into the paperwork.
The young lady that we were dealing with however was very short on her response and didn't take the time to understand what we were asking. It didn't feel that we got great customer service from her. But by and large, Mr. Cooper was very easy to work with though there were a couple of speed bumps along the way. Ultimately, we got what we needed and it's a favorable situation that we're in now. We were able to pay off some extended debt that we had, our interest rate was lowered and our payment only went up slightly.

Our Loan and processing officers, Toya and Yvette, are fantastic. They made the ENTIRE process worth the hassle. My biggest complaint is that we had to change our closing over 5 times and were over 120 days out. This was due to computer glitches, lost files, and incredibly flaky appraisers. Consider this a warning. DO NOT, if at all possible, use the appraisal service through Mr. Cooper. Hire your own or you will regret it. We went through 6...yes, SIX appraisers before getting one to actually take and stick with the job. I wish Mr. Cooper would offer us the close on-time guarantee they like to tote. Maybe they will? It is only because of the processors and Mr. Cooper's software that 5 stars are given. Those ladies who helped us through the loan and closing process need raises, bonuses, and a trophy because they are 100% amazing.

My only issue with the re-fi process is that they kept coming back to request more documents. I would think that they have a standard list that they use all the time. Overall the process was good but underwriting slowed it down. Plus they operate only on Pacific time. They forget that there is more than one time zone in the USA.

It was a breeze going through with Mr. Cooper. It was a challenge that I had given my husband because he wanted to retire. I said, "Okay. We need to refinance the house." And the next day, the mortgage papers came that had the refinance number on it. And we were done within 30 minutes. We were preapproved, locked in to our rate. We closed in less than 30 days, because we learned that I would have to have surgery that would affect my ability to sign the papers. So, they pushed through. Signed, sealed, and delivered.
This is my second or third dealings with doing finance, and Mr. Cooper made it very easy. It went faster than we anticipated. Because I had not checked any rate for anything when we made the phone call. We were just trying to start and get information. But because they made it so easy and because we were accomplishing what I wanted my husband to do, which was to drop the interest rate drastically, and we also went from a 30 to a 15-year note, there was no point in us looking at other vendors to try to shop around. And I know that within a week, the rate would have gone back up, and we couldn't have shopped around for a cheaper rate. The rate is always the trick.
My husband is somebody who has been through bankruptcy and was nervous about his credit. But he had already reestablished. I thought it would take both of us to get the best rate. But he was able to do it on just his, and we just added me to the note. So they made it very easy for somebody who is not finding it savvy. My husband had just been dreading it.

The follow through is a little questionable. Mr. Cooper had some sort of snafu with their email. Once my loan was approved and a closing date had been sent, I started getting a series of emails saying that they needed more documentation. When it came to the closing, there was no real follow-up phone calls prior to it. So, the closing date was set and I had to reach out to the company to ensure that the closing date was, in fact, still gonna happen. Nobody reached out to me the day before to say, “Okay. Everything is set. And we'll see you tomorrow morning.” So that was a little odd, given the fact that we were looking at almost a $300,000 loan. When they're dealing with numbers that big, they should be a little bit more hands-on. There were some definite disconnects between the folks that were originating the loan and the folks that were doing the closing.
I talked to Jesse originally and to his credit, he followed through with pretty much everything he said he was gonna do. When I got the auto-generated email, I followed up with them and Jesse was quick to respond and say, “No. This was a snafu.” Other than that, everybody was pleasant. The closer was timely. The paperwork seemed to be in order. The numbers always change at the end because they factor in the interest when they do the final payoff to the original loan, but there was nothing that raised any eyebrows.

My recent refinance experience was very positive. My first contact, Torrey **, was the utmost professional. Torrey helped streamline my refinance experience with his vast knowledge of the lending process, his friendly and upbeat manner, and his quick response times. He was easy to contact, and he kept me promptly updated and on course throughout the process. It was a real pleasure working with him.
My second contact, Tamara **, was very professional and knowledgeable and made the experience a continuing success. She was also very friendly and efficient and worked hard to get my loan accomplished quickly. She too, was a great person to work with. Tamara also had a co-worker that was very helpful and knowledgeable, keeping the process moving on one of Tamara's days off. My overall experience with my refinance loan from Mr. Cooper was five-stars and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accomplished team to another person looking to buy or refinance a home.

I had no intentions of refinancing, as I refinanced in 2020. But the interest was better, especially for the life of the mortgage. The refinance was great, I only had to speak with 2 people, and over the phone. The guy for the closing came to my home and everything was done in a few weeks.

I closed on my refinance at the end of November. Everything went fine up to the closing, loan officer got a great rate, understood what I wanted to do and got things moving along. Part of the refinance was a refund of $1,500. The day of the refinance came and went and still no check. I have sent notes to the loan officer and sometimes I get a note saying he is working on it if I hear from him at all as I guess I am old news and he moved on, called corporate, no help and now I have to wonder if I was lied to especially in a legal document that I signed at closing. Where is the money.?

I tried to refinance my mortgage. It was held up because I needed to get a death certificate to close. By the time I got it the loan had closed. The loan officer did not call me to tell me it had closed. I spoke with Frank ** who told me and then offered to help me try again and this time it went through.

Everything seemed like it was appropriately disclosed in the manner and the time in which it was supposed to or needed to be. Although, it could be more palatable to people if they go through the fees because I had to kind of figure that out myself saying it would be worth it. But everyone at Mr. Cooper that I worked with was honest and transparent. Everything was up to par and they told me exactly what was going to happen. They also followed up and if there was something that was missing or some information they needed to know, they emailed and called. They made sure that not only did I have something in writing but they would follow up with a call to ask if I received the email regarding information that was needed or if that information had been received and in process. There was no confusion on my part along the way as to where we were and what was needed or what had already been gotten.
There was only one thing towards the very end when they were saying that there was some money and they said that when they do it, I'm going to have to pay. But I shouldn't have to pay anything. That was the whole point of this whole thing of not putting anything. The rep said they just switched over. I'd pay all those things that come out that have to be paid off completely and then anything left over will be forwarded for the next year. They knew everything a week or two ago. How was this not calculated or factored into? He said it was based on what was owed at that time.
The very next day, my payment had posted because I paid it early and they said that they owe me money. The rep said I'm gonna get a check back for $1,200. If that was the case, then how was it that in paying that, I get back 1,200, but in not paying that, I owed for it? It made no sense to me. Other than that, I would recommend Mr. Cooper. They did a good job, they were very diligent, and they followed through.

Refinanced our home and the service was o.k. They kept changing my loan representative which caused my husband's credit report to be run 4x giving him a hard mark on his credit report that had to be disputed. Other than that we got it done in 90 days.

I have had two mortgages prior with different companies, and Mr. Cooper was leagues above that. They have a phone number that I can call when I need something and the rep calls me. She basically did everything for me. I had to do the bare minimum. So it worked out fine. I switched my 30-year mortgage to a 15-year with an interest rate that was about half what it was. That was taking advantage of the market and the timing was good. Overall, working with Mr. Cooper was pretty simple and straightforward.

I refinanced through LoanDepot and they turned it over to Mr. Cooper. Their loan people are very pleasant. Taylor was one of them as well as some lady that I was talking to. I really appreciate all that they told me. I wouldn't have known about having to reduce my interest without them calling me. Mr. Cooper has been really nice to me. They gave me the money back from my escrow and there was one month that I didn't have to pay my mortgage.

The guy seemed honest and kept his word, and it seemed his company would be a good one to do our refinancing with. They called us a couple of times and informed us what they were doing, what was going on, how things were going. So, we were very happy with that side of it. Everything went well. We didn't have a loan payment in January. And with taxes, it kind of helps a person out a bit. If somebody asked me about Mr. Cooper and if they were going to refinance or something, I would recommend them.

Do not use this company. Mr. Cooper was previously Nationstar Mortgage. In December 2020, they agreed to a $91 million settlement for mishandling foreclosures and borrowers’ payments. They added a false escrow account to my mortgage (I pay taxes to the city separately) stating that the city sent them a bill for past due taxes (false).
The first few times I dealt with them it sounded like they were going to assist, but it ended being a complete runaround. Can't call anyone - always by email (which ended up working in my favor since I just kept throwing their lying emails back at them). Kept telling me they were waiting for the city to refund the escrow they paid. Followed up with the city and they told me I had to pay the taxes first before a refund could be generated (I had paid the taxes, but Mr. Cooper paid them first so my checks were returned).
In the meantime, I continued paying my mortgage and then they said I was in arrears since I wasn't paying the escrow. Tanked my credit rating. After 7 months, emailing them the same documentation and paying the city directly (again), I finally got the escrow removed, they reinstated my credit rating where it should be and I refinanced elsewhere as quickly as possible. Total scam artists.

Like so many other Mr. Cooper customers, I did not choose them, they chose me. Since they are buying up mortgages left and right. While I do like their online payment options with them being so easy and convenient, I found their customer service to be very uninformed and unhelpful; many operators giving me conflicting answers and information. I discovered this when they entered my Homeowner's insurance premium of $1300 into the computer as $300. Not only did they underpay my insurance, putting my policy at risk of being canceled. This caused my escrow account to be vastly miscalculated, which put the account balance in the negative after the $1000 shortfall got paid. Forcing me to replenish the account with $800, so my taxes could be paid. While I understand human error is bound to happen, getting this straightened out took about six weeks total.
With my calls getting me few answers, I decided to write a formal complaint, which took them a month to formally respond to. Only then did I understand what happened. While I will give them credit for one thing, they did get the shortfall paid as soon as I let them know about it. However, that indicates they knew exactly what happened then and there. Their phone support should have been able to explain that. But, since they didn't I had to waste my time with this very long written process. My advice to you if your mortgage gets sold to Mr. Cooper is to educate yourself about escrow accounts before an issue comes up and watch everything very carefully. Don't count on them to do everything perfectly. Even as I type this one year after the incident mentioned my Escrow account is in the negative yet again. Probably because it should have been recalculated to better reflect where we are now, not where things were perceived to be based upon human error.

Terrible unprofessional experience. I have owned four homes over the last 25 years and currently own two. My loans have been sold and transfered to other companies many times, and never have I run into so many issues. I am entirely paperless in all things, so when their spam looking junk mail arrived in the mail it was properly thrown out. Apparently unlike other brokers they don't have the ability to continue my auto payment after picking up my loan, so because of their inability I missed 2 payments. It wasn't until I looked through my bank records and determined I never paid my mortgage that I started investigating and determined what happened. A completely unacceptable experience. I will never ever use them on purpose and pray that my loan is sold to a real mortgage company with a higher level of professionalism and abilities. From my experience they are not to be trusted.

Jonathan, the rep, helped us refinance through Mr. Cooper. He was very energetic and always had a smile. He always called back whether there were any questions or not, and to see how we were doing. Even after the transfer of refinancing, he called back and emailed me. If Jonathan hadn't stepped in to correct an issue, there was a person there that let the ball drop. My wife and I were ready to cancel because what Michelle was supposed to have taken care of should have been done within 48 hours. When we were calling over a week later, she never followed through on anything. So, I called Jonathan right back and he asked what they could do to save it. I told him to handle it and it would be saved, and that if Michelle was involved in it, he could forget it. So, he was the one that took care of it from the get-go and at the end. I've already passed his name to a couple people that were thinking about refinancing.

When Mr. Cooper redid the escrow, they had thought that our property taxes were half of what they were. I started talking to Robert who had told me that the interest rates were lower. So I submitted an application and they contacted us for an appraisal. That was all done through Mr. Cooper and then for the closing, we had a notary come to the house, which was great and it worked out fine. So everything was smooth. Everything was good and very professional.
I talked to Robert and Brandy on the phone once or twice, but most of the stuff had went through emails and a lot of the signing was online where I just had to log on, which I love because I'm really busy during the day. So I can just log on to my account and sign it at my convenience. Everybody was very professional and I really appreciate it all. I love the new rates. We were at a 4.875 and now, we're down to a 3.125. So, we were able to take some money out to do some home improvements and our mortgage dropped $50 a month. We're really happy.

After securing an interest rate, at that point I was well down the path of facilitating the refinance process with the Mr. Cooper team. Their representative was helpful and informative. Having been a long-term customer, I expected the closing costs to be less as nothing changed except the term and rate. When I applied for my original mortgage through Mr. Cooper, they came through and they closed very quickly on my house. I was very happy with all that, so I naturally went to them pretty much first for refinancing. The application process took two weeks at the most for the entire process, then it took another two weeks to get the loan process completely finished. Their service was exceptional. I worked with Elizabeth and she was very knowledgeable about the process. If she didn't know an answer to one of my questions, she was very quick to find it. But I didn’t have many questions that she couldn't answer right away. She was also very helpful as far as giving me a couple different options and she said what she thought might be best for my situation. After reviewing those, I agreed with her, so that was what I ended up doing.
If anyone was interested in refinancing or purchasing a home, I would recommend speaking to Mr. Cooper. If they’re not one of your first opinions or if they’re not one of the first you talk to, they should be at least second or third. But they really should be the first company you speak to when you're looking to finance or refinance a home.

At first, I didn’t call about refinancing, but a message from your company saying that my hazard insurance had been paid. Not knowing your terminology, I called asking what is hazard insurance, only to be questioned about refinancing my house, which I had lived in less than a year. The procedure went fairly smoothly, although some communication & terminology was lacking between your broker & myself, as I was turned over to the final person to finish process.

After 12 years with them on time somehow I missed a payment or rather late two weeks. I called their Customer Service Department right away and brought account up to date. Then asked if I could talk to someone because it was just an honest mistake. My credit rating is around 800. Customer Service assured me it was within the time so it wouldn’t be any problem and l didn’t ask any further questions. To my surprise, my credit dropped 80 points. Well, I’m going to refinance soon but NOT with them for sure!

I've been a customer of Mr. Cooper for four years already, and it's my third time refinancing. It was a painless experience. That was why I did it again. Lower interest rates made sense to me. It’s a simple process, and the entire thing took about a week. The reps were very helpful. They did what they could. They had to jump through certain hoops, but they tried their best. They were willing to work with me. I had some doubts during the process and they met me in the middle, and that meant a lot to me. I needed to get some information from my job and they were asking me to get it to a system that I had never heard of before but the lady that asked me that question contacted my HR and found out more information and more about that program, and I was able to get that information she needed because she did that legwork. Otherwise, I would have not continued. I'm happy with the process overall.

Not sure of the normal time line in getting it done, but from our initial call until closing was right at about 6 weeks from start to absolute completion. Mr. Cooper's application process was very long. The first one took a couple of days and the refinance one for the lower interest rate took over a week. Their reps were very nice though. I would suggest that whoever calls to lower the interest rate, they need to have everything right there to do it all. Overall, I had about five people, and they were like, “Oh, we got to contact these people, or do this. And now, from here, we got to go here. From here, we got to go here.” Then the person that notarized everything had to come out. To make it easier, they could say, “Hey, I do it all. Let's get it done.”

Poor communication and lack of knowledge of the paperwork process communicated by the representatives appointed to my loan. Not a great experience. If I wasn’t an existing customer, I would have switched to a different mortgage lender. Clarification of the steps and the path forward needs to defined at the beginning of the loan process.

When I applied for refinancing with Mr. Cooper, I questioned them about the credit check with Macy's which was worth $40. I was already a Mr. Cooper member and I asked the rep why he had to question me too much on the new loan when I have all my papers with them. But the rep I dealt with was excellent and he discussed the protocol with me. I also liked the way he explained the process to me. It was not in a rude way and it was a good conversation. Aside from that, I was given excellent guidance and they responded quickly if I needed them to explain. When I'd call them, I'd get a voicemail, then they responded. And they felt sorry that they didn't call back at once. It was a good process but it should be so quick that they should have responded quicker. And the response for the paper should also be improved as it took us three weeks to do. Other than that, working with Mr. Cooper has been really great.

I've been divorced for 10 years and the initial person I talked to at Mr. Cooper put me down as separated. So, I had to come up with all these documentation proving that I was divorced and was not paying any child support or alimony, and my name was off the house. I had to do a little jumping through hoops to find all these stuff. It wasn't that big of a deal after I figured it all out. I got all the answers I needed during our discussion and got a lower rate for the refinancing. I’m happy with the experience.

The refi process moved along okay and I had good guidance. I wanted to lower the interest rate on it and I managed to do that. I’m continuing on what I was doing for the last years with Mr. Cooper. But I would like less mailings from them because that's annoying. They keep selling me life insurance stuff whether they're attached to their company or not. They say Mr. Cooper on it somewhere. The deal was done and I don’t need to hear from them unless they send me the bill and my monthly statements.

From the first person I spoke with to the person who actually processed things, they were all nice. Refinancing with them was easy. Everything that was sent was really simple and quick. We were supposed to close within six weeks and within 10 days, we were done. I wish the rate was lower but we went with a 30-year instead of something a lot less, so it was fine. It helped us and that's what we needed.

I really liked Mr. Cooper's representatives that's why we went back with them and we refinanced again. The process was easy. We had some issues getting some of the things that we needed like a check stub. Everything is done electronically. It took us a little bit to figure out how to get that stuff. Since refinancing, our monthly payment is going down, which we needed. The first time we refinanced, we paid off a lot of debt. Our monthly went down because we got a better interest rate. So, that seriously helped. Then we got everything paid off pretty much. I even paid off my car. It just put us in a better position financially.
I did have some issues with getting on the app. I had been on it. When we refinance, that got paid off. Then it opened up a new loan. I was able to get on the app and then for some reason, I wasn't able to get on the app after that, and I still really haven't been able to. I had issues with getting my papers because I would send it out via the app but they took care of it and said, “Okay, well, I'm going to send you the papers by email.” So, they came up with a solution. It was not that big a deal. If I ran into a roadblock, I would just call them and they would answer. They would call me right back and we would get it taken care of.

Nationstar and Mr. Cooper merged together. They’ve been our mortgage company for almost 20 plus years and it's always been a good relationship. Then I kept hearing news that the interest rates were going down and then trying to come back up again. We were at 5.75, a 20-year fixed rate, and we decided it was a good time to refinance the house and get a little cheaper rate. We started checking around and decided it'd just be simpler if we just go through them to refinance instead of starting from scratch again. The representatives knew on the top of their tongue exactly what we needed and then could answer all our questions.
They gave us several options. We could do a shorter mortgage and shorter interest rate and pay more, or we could start with a 30-year over again, or we could start a different year term. Being the former CPA, I would have gone for a shorter time period, but my wife had some plans. We have some home improvements to be done and she needs to take the money out of our mortgage without bumping up over paying month for our mortgage, so we did that. The only thing that was troublesome was when we had the closing, it was page after page signing, but it was fine.

The reps were fine. But I had to send Mr. Cooper way too many papers. Some of that crap didn't make any sense to me. The process took a couple of hours. I'm paying mostly interest. The down principal that I actually apply to the house is like nothing. It doesn't reduce the balance very well at all. I'm not pleased with that. It's typical damn finance mortgages. It's always money, money, money, and we're the ones who gotta pay it.

Since refinancing with Mr. Cooper, I was able to pay off some debts and credit cards, and get some fixtures in the house. I got some good contract estimates, it's just now is a little busy with the holidays. Everybody is kinda overpricing so I’m trying to wait till next year and things slow down a little bit so that the labor is not so high. I also got 1% off of or three quarters of a percent off of my interest rate, which over 30 years, is a significant amount. I was also able to bring the loan down to 25 years and that's something that I've wanted to pay it off faster. 100% satisfied, very professional, very informative. Everything was phenomenal.

Please review the following recorded conversations with Fidel and Ms. ** that should be saved on your company server. My complain is in reference to Mr. Cooper’s staff in arranging or scheduling our closing meeting. I was not kept informed and was not made a priority. The customer service provided was subpar. Excuses made by Mr. Fidel and his supervisor Ms. ** along with passing the blame is simply unprofessional.
Nov 8, approximately 12:00 pm – Fidel called to let me know that the New Braunfels location for closing, on Friday, Nov 12, was canceled and that it would need to be conducted in San Antonio. I agreed. But requested that the time change from 1000 to 1700 because of a schedule change with my spouse’s new job. Fidel stated, “I was making his job hard”. During the recorded call I noticed the following about his professionalism:
Incompetence in coordinating this closing meeting.It did not seem as though he wanted to accommodate a time change.
Training in customer service is needed.
Nov 12, 2:24 pm – Fidel calls and leaves a voice message to let me know that closing would “not happened” and that he was not getting much of a response from the title company…. He went on to say, “So I’m gonna go ahead and call it and just say it's not gonna happen today”. During this call I perceived the following:
Lack of urgency to get the appointment change.Proficiency in contacting appropriate people to get appointment changed. He lacks ability to “make it happened”.
He relied on voice and email messages to conduct business which show lack of confidence.
Nov 12, 3:45 pm – Spoke to Mariela **, supervisor, about Fidel’s lack of professionalism and incompetence. What stood out with the conversation with her is that she attempted to defend her employee, which is fine, but without knowledge to the entirety of the situation, she stated, “We are not incompetent, but the title company is”. As a professional she should have never passed the blame or place fault on another company. Ms. ** assured me that she would fix the problem and would call me on Monday 15 Nov, 3:00 pm, to follow up with me in reference my complaint. She did not call and as of today, 23 Nov, has not reached out to me. Ms. **, branch manager, at the title company stated she never received a request to change our appointment time.

My original loan officer, Eric, was awesome. This is my third time doing a refinance situation with Eric and every time, this young man is extremely responsive. He's very knowledgeable. I find him a real serious asset to the company. On the day of closing, I ran into a bit of a snafu where my closing documents did not coincide with what the notary had. It was a Friday evening at dinnertime, so people should be closing down shop and starting their weekends. I reached out to the loan processor and Eric, the loan officer, and he responded to me within minutes and was able to walk me through, on the phone, the rest of the loan closing process. I really appreciate doing business with Eric. He follows up. Should I choose to refinance it anywhere in the near future, he'd be where I go to again. I am happy with the rates I got with Mr. Cooper.
