Normally, when I use my old mortgage guy, he would say, “Hey, I need this, this, and that,” get it done, and not wait three weeks to get this done.     Ryan was my broker and was really good with communication. He was super responsive and if I had any questions, he answered them right away. If there was anything, he was just on top of it. I've been with Mr. Cooper for several years now, since they were Nationstar, and there's a reason I keep sticking with them. I've had a better experience with them and I've been pretty happy.

    Always have your ducks in a row as far as banking and know where you can get your banking documents and your pay stub. Don't be too intimidated by all the paperwork that goes on with it because there are a lot of verbiage and stuff you're not gonna understand. But they'll break it down and put it into layman's terms for you. If you're looking for something that's simple, straightforward, and somebody who's readily available to answer your questions, I would not hesitate to use Mr. Cooper. The process was super convenient and everything was easy peasy. The rates were very competitive too and they had options to buy points.

    We got a notification by mail that our loan was being bought out by Mr. Cooper, and then Mr. Cooper reached out to us and let us know that they were going to be our new mortgage holder. They also had done some preliminary reviews and asked if we were interested in refinancing. So, we did do that and it was a very smooth and positive experience with them. It was our first refinance, but it didn't feel too long. There was one hold-up though. My husband is a resident alien. People were not familiar with that and besides the copy of his green card, they wanted the documentation thing that works as a valid ID. So, I did have to find the federal government's website on immigration about what a green card is. The whole process was smooth. I would recommend people to do that. It's going to end up saving us money and it wasn't a cumbersome process.

    I'm ecstatic about Mr. Cooper's service. Their reps kept me well informed. They were easy to reach, very responsive, and they made the process very simple. Since it was a refi and I knew ahead of time what I needed to provide, it took about a week or two shorter than I thought it'd be. Once we got to it, the approval happened pretty quickly with the underwriter, and then we scheduled immediate closing. So, the closing was a couple of weeks ahead of when it was supposed to be. It was very good.

    This is the most absurd and unethical mortgage company in America. I own a mortgage brokerage and am a licensed loan officer - so anyone reading this - know that I've dealt with a lot of shady mortgage companies. This is the worst. My mortgage on my primary home got sold to them a couple months back and the lender that sold the loan did everything correctly. They sent me the info in advance and everything. Mr. Cooper did not. They sent everything after my first payment was due. Which is bad - but I've seen it happen before with other lenders. So I was proactive and went ahead and found my loan number and who to mail a check to and did so in order for my first payment to be on-time. Then a couple weeks later we get the packet of info on how to set up an account and all that. We set it up for auto pay and away we went.

    Fast forward a couple months and I log on to see that they are now saying they never received my 1st payment and I'm delinquent. I literally have the stamped image from Mr. Cooper via my bank (USAA) showing that it was cashed. I have every shred of evidence showing that Mr. Cooper cashed the check. So I call them and get told that they never got it. I open a case for the review team and they also deny it and say they never got the money. I have every piece of banking regulatory evidence needed to show that they cashed my check and took my money for my loan number. Next I will be taking the necessary regulatory/legal steps in the mortgage world but I simply wanted everyone else to read about what type of company this is.

    The process took longer than I thought it would with my credit rating being A plus. There were papers that weren't signed on the email signature. I was told to take a picture of those, sign, initial, and resend. But my reps Michael and Michelle were with me the whole way. So overall, it was okay. However, I was quoted that the closing cost was $3,372 with Michael but the actual ending cost with Michelle was $5,000. So, I don't know where the $1700 discrepancy was in that.

    One of my mortgages was transferred over to them and I stayed with them because they're very easy to work with and they have a good team. With the way they do things, they make it easy to get through the process. I like the online because you don't have to wait. All they have to do is tell you what you need and then you put all your docs in. Then they show you where you are in terms of the process. It was smooth. The young lady that I dealt with was so phenomenal in her approach and knowledge, and in her being able to move things through. We had to go back and go through the whole thing. But she made sure that she stayed on my loan. In the end, the interest rate and my payments were lower. So I'm able to do some other things here around the house.

    I have been through 4 mortgage or mortgage refi application processes. Perhaps I'm older and (maybe) have things in order more than when I was younger, but my recent experience with Mr. Cooper was the smoothest by a wide margin. There was a good balance between automated (online) interaction and interaction with an actual person (mostly by email, but occasionally by phone). Generally, I prefer automated services (e.g., uploading documents by myself rather than scan/fax), but sometimes direct contact is more productive. Very efficient and communication with those helping me was "top notch." Would recommend without hesitation.

    I know this is partly our fault but we intended on paying off debt and making improvements to our house with our refinance. When they added paying off our car to the refi it removed our cash out for our home improvements. We had signed a loan disclosure but didn’t look as closely as the second one when they added the car on. When we got our deposit we realized it was totally wrong. Your loan guys need to pay better attention. We also complained to them and they said they were talking to their managers and then we never heard back. We followed up numerous times and still haven’t heard back. We are so disappointed that we can’t do the improvements we intended on. Will not consider Mr. Cooper in the future. Still would like someone to follow up with us if anything can be done. Thank you.

    Everything was just like Mr. Cooper told me it would be.     I've been with Mr. Cooper for quite a few years. I was with Nationstar. Then they switched to Mr. Cooper and then they wanted me to refinance. So, that was what I did. I didn't get my March statement in the mail. So, I called to make a phone payment. Then when I was talking to a guy named Ty about it, he kind of talked me into doing a refinance. I said I tried to do it a couple of times before but it was too much of a hassle. I kept running over to the Kinko’s and mailing stuff, and then trying to find paperwork.     Am going to keep doing this until someone from there contacts me. It has been 5 months and you have done absolutely nothing to fix my September payment that your company lost or stole from me.     My husband and I just found out that we have been paying our mortgage rates every month to Mr. Cooper and they have not been paying our home insurance. The home insurance amount is included in our mortgage. We just received a letter from our home insurance carrier who said that our home insurance was terminated because they never received payment from Mr. Cooper.     We refinanced with Mr. Cooper and everything went smoothly. The only thing that I am a little concerned about is, after we refinanced, we closed at the end of March and I sent a full payment. They were supposed to refund me. I have called twice and they tell me the same thing, that the check has been sent in the mail. They said that they sent it on the 22nd of March and it's still not here. So, I'm just waiting. Because if not, I'm gonna have to call the people that did the refinancing. They said they would find out what's going on.

    We had the VA loan and after we refinanced, the percentage was good. We went down. Peter and Stevens, the reps we worked with, were great. They communicated and answered every question. If we didn't get a hold of them, they would call us back right away. The underwriting process went smooth as well. Right away, they had somebody come down and do the appraisal, so that went fairly quick. There were a few things with the underwriter that we had to go back. The girl who came down to have us fill out all the forms didn't look through the pages so she took them back. We didn't date something which slowed the process. Those couple of things that were frustrating but it was okay. The underwriter sent it back and didn't approve it at first and then, Peter and Steven worked on it, and they redid it. It got approved so we’re very happy.

Stan, the rep, was good and he followed-up. He passed us next to the underwriter and he was good too. They had a hard time and it was my fault because when I sent the home insurance, I did not pay attention that it was last year's home insurance. So, she tried to call my home insurance first multiple times. She reached out to me and I actually have a copy of the current one, I just sent the wrong one. So, after I sent that, it was quick.     I've always been pleased with Mr. Cooper's service, the product, and the customer service. Everybody was impeccable. They continuously called to make sure that I was good, that I understood, and that I didn't have any questions. Even post-closing, they were calling. My escrow was a little short and I wanted to pay the difference, and I called to ask them how to go about doing that. The rep was explaining to me, "Don't worry about it. It's just a little bit. You'll never really get ahead of that. But hey, we got something we can do for you." I was like, "Oh, no. I just did something last year." He said, "No. Listen to me." When he got through, I was just with it, and it worked out perfectly.

    The only thing that held us up a couple of days was the fact that they are short of appraisers right now and have a heavy load because of the pandemic. We also ended up getting some bad weather in Texas. So, there were days when it was too cold to be out and it was snowing. I started on February the 16th, and I closed on March the 14th. Without the appraisal taking longer, it would have been probably just a couple of weeks.

    I would like to start out by saying the mortgage company seem to be pretty nice at first. Of course they are when they want your business but as we all know most of the time anyway then they don’t want to know you. Here is my story. After one year on a fixed interest rate my mortgage payment went up. I questioned it and they told me I had an escrow shortage which I understood upon which I paid the full amount while I was on the phone actually with the customer representative. But to my surprise my mortgage payment still was up $22 more a month on a fixed interest rate so I questioned it and again they told me my escrow was short which in fact I had just paid.

    After going back-and-forth they still couldn’t give me an answer why it went up so today recently I tried to reach out again and explain the situation. This time they hung up on me. Meanwhile I waited 15 minutes just to get a representative. We all know how that goes. I wonder if other people are out there in the same situation I am and maybe we can start a class action suit against this company.

    I got a conventional loan and the rates were very good. I worked with Winston who was the loan person who saw me every step of the way. He did very well. But one of my credit cards whom they paid off never got the check. So, they put a stop payment on it and gave me another one that I sent to them. I asked Winston and Mr. Cooper, “Don't stop payment on this.” I explained to them that I had to pay two payments again because of all this check business going on. They didn't seem to want to help me. They sent me this third check which I sent priority to the mailbox of the credit card company. Other than that, Mr. Cooper was fine until this issue.

    It doesn't make me feel valued with the way they handled the issue. They basically told me, “Hey, sorry, that's your problem now, you deal with it.” I didn't like that. I asked for the rep's name which I got. I'm waiting to make sure the credit card people get paid off so I don't have to call this guy back. And then, I will send a not-so-nice email to his manager. But it's only on this issue. Everything else, I don't have a problem with.

    When I did the closing with Mr. Cooper, I signed the papers. We went through every single paper and the closing cost was 9,000. Two days later, I got a phone call from Adrianne and she told me, that the closing disclosure wasn't signed, that we forgot to sign the paper and that she needed to get a digital signature. She asked me to open my email. In my email, I would find the closing disclosure and I would sign it electronically. I remember seeing this paper, the same numbers and the closing cost was 9,000 and I signed it through the computer. I was paying $9,000 for closing and I was supposed to get $9,000 back.

    But instead of getting $9,000, I only got 7,000. I was complaining about the difference and the difference is about $1,800. They didn't give me a straight answer. I talked to Erica. She called me to find out how my process was. Now they claim that the closing cost wasn't $9,000, it was $11,700. That's something that they never told me. When Adrianne called me to sign electronically the closing disclosure, she never said that there was a change in the numbers. She only said, "You forgot to sign the paper. Will you please sign this paper for me electronically?" They changed my numbers after the fact that I already signed those papers. How can a company change the closing cost from one day to two days later without telling the customer? They claim that I was aware of this change. But they never mentioned it. I'm very dissatisfied.

I'm receiving multiple mailings daily for mortgage insurance policies related to my refi and they all reference my mortgage with you, naming you!     Andrew ** was the representative that dealt with our refinance. He was not forthcoming with anything. He kept telling me different versions of everything. When I would ask what fees were he would not give me straight answers. He refused to email me and would want to call me vs. having a documented conversation. When I was not happy about the closing costs I informed him I was going to shop around he decided to close the application. Andrews said he called me for two days which would have been on a weekend. I never received his calls and no emails were sent. He said that the mortgage company asked for the FHA case number and thus had to close the account.

    This was a flat out lie as I was working with a friend who worked for a mortgage company and was only seeing if he could get me a lower rate and more cash out options. He stated they specifically did not provide any information to send to Mr. Cooper. So in all the application process had to be started all over and I was forced to pay a higher rate and more fees as they would not lock the rate in sayin couldn't as the case was transferred to the other company. COMPLETE LIE!! In all actuality I was not forced to sign however; there were no other options and to start over with another company would have taken time and rates were going up. I even went to Andrew's supervisor who was very unhelpful and stuck up for his employee.

    The only person that I felt was extremely helpful was Janette **. She was very professional and explained every process. She always answered any questions I had.

    My experience with Mr. Cooper went well. Every time I called, I was able to get ahold of somebody. They responded back to me and nothing was unanswered. I had Mr. Cooper before and I was satisfied. The only problem I seem to have is that the payments go up every year. But they explained that it was because of the taxes going up, which I understand. But my escrow, taxes and insurance are included in the payment. So, even if I, at the beginning of the year, send extra escrow in to try to keep the payment down lower, it wouldn’t help me.

    My whole reason for going with you was because, you took my credit card debt as part of the loan. However, no one told me that they were going to send me the checks written out to my banks!     I refinanced with Mr. Cooper and the rep I worked with on the phone was all good. My sons are with Mr. Cooper, too, and I'd tell other that I'd go for them. The only thing I didn't like was the notary. When he came up and knocked on my door, I asked him how he was doing and he just grunted and looked at me. Then, when we sat down at the table and he never said, "Hey" to my wife. She asked him if he wanted a cup of coffee and he never said a word.

    He just sat there, looked at all the stuff, and said that he couldn't notarize the paperwork because my wife's name was spelt wrong in her driver's license. I told him that we got 15 other things that prove who she is but he still said he couldn't do it. That flew all over me and I told him to get out of my house and not to come back. I called Mr. Cooper, told them what happened, and they had somebody out on the same day within three or four hours. The man who came was nice as he can be. All in all, the process was fast and I'd recommend them to anybody.

    The process was okay. But as soon as I didn’t answer the phone, they would shoot me an email explaining that they'd tried to get ahold of me and they couldn't, like I can drop everything I'm doing right when they called. But it was no big deal. I was told my closing costs were going to be 4,500, but when all got said and done, it was almost 8,000. They should be more upfront. I would never use them again.

    There were a few phone calls back and forth to get everything lined up, but other than that, the process was pretty simple and it went good. For doing everything on the phone, the process went pretty quick. They did an appraisal on the house. So that took a little bit more time. They told us it was because it's been so long since we bought the house. The first lady we talked to about refinancing did a good job of advising us or trying to help us.     I called Mr. Cooper just before December when I saw that they might be able to help us refinance to a lower interest rate. I was skeptical because no one else wanted to touch our predatory lending loan from 2007. I was surprised when I talked with one of the people when he said they could help us and wanted to close before Christmas.

    Everyone we worked with did a great job and everything went 'almost' as planned. We hit a small snag with our appraisal because we live in a stilt house and none had recently sold in our area. When everything was finally finished we closed on January 10th and couldn't be happier. If you are looking to refinance give Mr. Cooper a call and see what they have to offer. This is entirely because of the exceptional service given to me by their representative and loan processor, FRANKY ** NMLS ID **. He assisted me initially to set up our original home mortgage loan.     I did a refinance with Mr. Cooper. Big failure and I would never do it again. Not with this company. You would think the process would be less stressful seeing that I already had a current mortgage through them. The amount of documents and questions that was asked to be submitted was unbelievable. I questioned my loan processor about this and all he could tell me was "we need a paper trail". Just a little bit of what I went through without going into too much detail. I received a check with a large amount of money from a known company.

    I had supplied a copy of the front, back, and deposit receipt of the check so they could see what company issued the check and this was also on my bank statement, well the loan processor stated that underwriting needed a statement from the issuing company to make sure they did issue the check. My answer was, "If the check was not legit, do you think the bank would've cashed it?" The check is cleared through the bank first before it gets deposited into your account. I also had to re-send documents that was already sent. Mr. Cooper needs to get it together as a refinance with the same company should not had been this difficult. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    The application process was lengthy but it was pretty good. They were pleasant and answered any questions we had. The process was a series of three or four phone calls and then we had a notary come over, where we had a little hiccup. I don't know if we were notified that we had to have a cashier's check ready for that notary. We had to turn around and reschedule the following week. But that was the only thing. Our rate went down like 2% because of the refinance, which is a really good thing, and our payments were reduced a little bit, which is nice.

    I had to refinance due to a divorce. We pushed paperwork through before the divorce was finalized to expedite the paperwork. I was told as soon as the divorce was final to let them know and they would do a quitclaim deed for my ex wife to sign as the final step. Once divorce was final I let them know and was told to go to my lawyer or county clerk to get a quitclaim deed. I was told they would do it and was made to believe it was part of the process and now am being told I should go somewhere else as it will be “cheaper”. Again, I was told it would be taken care of by Mr. Cooper as part of the refinance with them and now I am being told different. It should be part of the refinance because that is what I was told.
