I went online and made my payment with the same bank account I had used for the previous payment. When I began to notice that it had not cleared my bank, I went back online to check. My payment had been reversed by the company with no notice to me at all. When I called to check on this, I was told my Bank account information was incorrect. So I verified the information with the rep. He proceeded to tell me that it didn't match what I had submitted but was incorrect and I would have to check with the bank because it is an invalid account.

I explained to him that there was money in my account and that all my other payments were clearing, but he offered no assistance on his end. So I requested the ability to pay with my debit card, which is linked to the exact same account. He agreed & took all my information and at the end he informed me there is a $19.95 charge for paying by phone. So I declined that payment and stated I would make the payment online.

He then proceeded to offer me a reduced amount of $14.95. When I declined that he then offered to accept payment with no fee for processing it. In my humble opinion this is very poor customer service. This is only my second month with nationstar. I am now in the process of trying to find another mortgage company as I do not want to spend the next 29 years dealing with what I consider to be such poor customer service.

It's been since October since I received a paper statement at my house. I don't know how it ever got changed. I have called the last three months (3 times) after NOT receiving the statement calling your automated service (which is terrible) and finally receiving someone on the other end @ Nationstar (that is if I didn't get hung up on / disconnected) and go through the automation AGAIN! Only to wait the next month... and NO STATEMENT! How would you feel? If you sent out coupon booklets for the 12 months I wouldn't have to wait for the statement to come in the mail. The statements are not only a reminder to send payment, but I like to send it with my payment to it gets applied to the right mortgage bill!

Nationstar was my refinance mortgage company a couple of years before. Greenlight called me with their refinancing offer; I wanted to reduce my mortgage payment so I signed on their offer. They're also very proactive throughout the whole process. They call and update me, so it was a smooth thing. Everything's looking good with this company, only the paperwork was a little bit painful - there were too many unneeded paperworks. Apart from that, I got exactly what I wanted.

We inquired reference to refinancing to a lower interest rate and that process was very good. The refinancing was great but prior to that, it wasn’t so good. You coordinate something with one person but it wouldn’t be passed on to whoever you spoke to the first time. And it really got to the point where you want to switch over to another mortgage company because of the sheer disorganization. It was unbelievable and we dealt with that for several years. But our transition with Greenlight was very professional and well done. We reduced our loan timetable in half and we were able to do that with the reduction of the interest rate. It was satisfactory.

I have my existing loan with Nationstar. I had refinanced my loan since 2008 and we're looking at purchasing a second property. Mostly everything went well with my interactions with the mortgage professionals during refinancing process. They responded and answered my questions clearly. They don't have an overlay preventing the type of loan I was seeking, which was really what won the loan for them.

I did have one challenge in the whole experience, where during the series of interactions about my loan, I was very clear of the loan type I was seeking, and at some point during and between underwriting and the initial time we tried to close, that loan type was changed without my knowledge and without my signature. So when we went to close, we failed. I was encouraged to close anyway, even though it was a different loan than what I was seeking. I had to become extremely firm on the fact that I needed the product that I asked for.

Didn't hear anything from her in weeks. Then Nationstar finally turned it over to somebody else because she was out again and this time he was okay. My only problem was that we didn’t get the full $$20,000 loan that we originally asked for. But it was a mortgage, it finally got done, so still good all in all.

Nationstar has been convenient, customer-savvy and overall very efficient. I haven't heard of Nationstar until my loan was moved over to them. I really wanted to remove the PMI from my FHA loan, and so I thought I had enough equity on the property that I could accomplish that. Nationstar already had my mortgage, so I figured I'd give them the first opportunity to keep me as a customer. The refinancing process was good. The loan officer kept me up-to-date with everything, and the loan processor was just as good. If they didn't answer I'd leave a message and they would return my call. Through Nationstar I accomplished having MI on my loan, got a lower interest rate, ultimately got lower payment, and I didn't have to sign on for another 30-year term (I've been with them five years, so I just refinanced for 25).

Everything was pretty much A-okay--it was all done over the phone in the beginning, and then either by fax or email too. It was good discussing our refinancing options with them, but we also pretty much knew what we were doing and what we were going in for. I already have a mortgage with Nationstar and they called me to let me know that I was eligible to refinance. We started talking about it because I had been curious about it then it looked like it was going to work out to do it. They made me understand what I needed and what were my options. They ran my credit right away so I knew immediately that I was qualified to go through. They answered all questions and concerns that I had. They made me feel more comfortable in proceeding with the refinance.

When the process was going through, it got a little bit frustrating because they always said that the underwriter was taking a long time to make decisions and coming back with kinda petty questions, things that seemed like I had answered before and they just didn't seem to like my answers. It was taking a long time to find out when everything was going to finish. But for the most part, it went pretty good even with a few glitches here and there. I've been real pleased with Nationstar Mortgage. They were good and the house was refinanced to where I could reduce the amount of years. When somebody's trying to promote something, you’d think, "Well, I don’t think I need it," but I was glad I did on that account. I was glad they persisted with me.

We inquired with Nationstar about refinancing (our loan was passed over to them) because our ATR was ridiculously too high. The first time we tried to do it, it was not so good. Somebody contacted me, I told them I wanted to refinance and then I emailed them a couple of times because I had questions. And then something showed up in the mail and I emailed again about questions, and all of a sudden, nobody answered me and I got papers back that said okay, you didn't sign this so you're not getting refinanced. But the second time, everybody did a really good job. It went really nice. They explained everything really well and we didn't have any problems at all. Since refinancing, our payments became lower so we were able to have extra money. The process was really easy. It was nice that somebody came to our house and we didn't have to go somewhere. Everybody really was nice and worked with us, and did a great job. It was a fantastic experience.

Now I have a lower interest rate. I actually have a rental business and have some other mortgages which I wouldn't mind refinancing with Nationstar. I got a call and talked to my partner and he said that it would be okay if I called in to check and see if they would be interested in doing any of that. Overall, my experience with Nationstar was good.

If there is a glowing report on Nationstar, it's an employee writing it. I was up-to-date with my loan with Bank of America when my loan was sold. Immediately I started getting phone calls about my late payment. I had to get a conference call with Nationstar and BA to straighten the history out. BA set them straight with dates and figures of my account. However, while this was taking place, they charged me 'legal fees' which they explained is for inspections if payments are behind - even though I was never behind. Watch your statements. At random times they have charged me 175 - legal fees for 'inspections' which consists of a property drive-by. Even though they can't prove they went by. This is a terrible company!!!!!

I have three people that I talked to regarding closing on my house. Let’s not even count that I had to work with the actual notary. It was a rough couple of weeks of December. However everybody I worked with was very nice. They were very pleasant. Also my payment has been lowered, which is a very nice perk.

My loan was transferred from Bank of America to Nationstar after BOA played games with me for 2.5 years to do a loan modification. I won't go into BOA ineptness here because that's a whole other complaint. I mention them just to give background story. I have owned 2 homes in the past 22 years and have refinanced several times without any difficulty. During that time I have NEVER missed a payment (once 1-2 week late secondary to pay period but NO MISSING PAYMENT). I did a loan modification with BOA because I figured if I can pay my regular monthly payment I could definitely pay one that was less so why not. I finally went to a lawyer who said they can't take your house as long as you are paying your mortgage but to try Consumer Protection first before dropping an enormous amount on lawyer fees to go after them.

Within 2 weeks the loan was done then within a month it was transferred to Nationstar. So I start paying Nationstar the amount the loan modification was agreed upon. First they send the money back saying it's not enough.I sent it back. I then sent them copies of the loan modification, twice, then they tell me I missed payments to BOA and I had to make up for it. I contacted BOA and they assured me that all payments were accounted for and actually gave me a name and number for Nationstar to contact for the information. Then Nationstar tells me it will take about four months to clear things up because they acquired so many loans at once. Here comes four months and nothing straightened out but if I pay a onetime extra fee everything will be up to date. So like a fool I paid.

After that they send letters every two weeks, some certified some not threatening to foreclose on my mortgage. They also started sending people to my house to see if I live there. I work and pay my mortgage why wouldn't I be living there? I made MANY calls, you never get to actually talk to your point of contact person. It's always someone different and they never know what occurred on previous phone calls. Then they tell me I'm missing payments and I'm 3-4 months behind (again no missed payments). Now, I send then 4 copies of my bank statements from the time I was with BOA until the current statement with Nationstar and the loan papers again. I sent 2 copies via FedEx- 1 to my point of contact person and one to the research department. Then I faxed all the papers to each place. I also sent it to my lawyer just to have an official copy out there. Funny thing, they denied getting any of those papers. My lawyer received them.

Again more letters to consumer protection which did nothing here. They suggested that I get in touch with the attorney general. Which I did. Within 1 month I was finally sent a mortgage statement that said I was up to date with payments and at the proper dollar amount (still more than initially agreed upon in the loan but close enough that I felt it was best just to be glad it was settled- please don't say escrow went up because of taxes and insurance because I was ahead there also). So for 3 months everything was ok. Then BAM they increased my mortgage almost $500 per month.

I called again and was told my taxes went up. I called the town my taxes went up $20, My insurance went up $30. Even with the total $50 increase I was still ahead on my escrow. Again I contacted the Attorney General this last time was in October 2014, this is now over two years of TORTURE and HARASSMENT from this company. They sent a nice patronizing letter to the Attorney General saying oh yes we will look into it and give you an answer by December 2nd. We are still waiting for a response. My mortgage is now over $350 more than my first original mortgage that I had before I started this whole process thanks to Nationstar.

They are inept at best. This isn't the forum for me to say what I would really like, BUT, if I did my job the way they do theirs, I wouldn't have a job. When I went to get my taxes done last year my accountant said "you poor thing, you got stuck with the two WORST mortgage companies ever." This whole thing has been a nightmare and literally has made me sick with hypertension, insomnia and GI problems. I am working on getting away from this company soon as possible now because it is apparent to me that they never will do the right thing and if I stay with them they're going to be the death of me.

Paul would email really good, but then he sent it to the underwriter and I had tried calling him a couple of different times and I've sent some emails a couple of different times and didn't receive any replies until it was almost done. Since refinancing our loan we have a lower interest rate but our payment went up.

Everything was alright except that I didn't realize that the last gentleman that came to take care of the paperwork and the notary didn't explain to me that it was gonna take a long time because my husband doesn't even get off of work until he gets home between 7 and 7:30. So I had set the appointment for 7:30 but the gentleman wasn't even able to leave until after midnight. So it took a long time because I'd like to read and know what papers I'm signing. But he or anyone else did not inform me how long it was going to take or how many papers needed to be signed when they called to make the appointment. It didn't sound to me like it's 80 pages long, which it was probably more. That wasn't represented at all even by the notary himself. So that was a long thing and my husband has to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning because he works a lot of hours at work. He was very tired the next day. That was a little bit of an inconvenience.

The guidance given was okay but they ended up adding on more than we initially had discussed. I thought I was only going to have $3500 added on to my original mortgage and it ended up being over $5000. I’m not glad about that.

And the loan amount is the same but the interest rate is lower. I went and made a payment online as I have been for seven years and now they added on an additional $7 or $8 charge for making a payment online and that pisses me off. That’s how I make my payments, online, and you tack on a $5000 onto my mortgage and now you’re going to charge me for paying you? I would like not to be charged for paying my mortgage online since I’m not late and I’ve been on time for seven years.

I was transferred to Nationstar from another investor. Then I refinanced my mortgage with them because I wanted to lower my rate. I had a good experience with the loan officer but the rest of the experience was horrible. I was being asked for a bunch of documentation that really wasn't necessary. I also repeatedly sent the same thing over and over again. I don't know what the process or what the deal was but every time I sent something over, they'd ask me for it again and again. And my loan was pretty easy because I'm an underwriter and I knew what was needed. A couple of times I called, I couldn't get anybody to call me back. So by the end of the ordeal, I was ready to be over and done with. It was terrible.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar from Bank of America. It was a horrific experience trying to refinance. I was paying my mortgage even though the rate was 7.5 which was so much ridiculous and I didn’t qualify for HARP. When I was approved to refinance elsewhere, they didn’t like it. They also reported my mortgage 30 days late, falsely twice, which sort of worked for them because then I wasn’t able to refinance but it was an error which to me is completely fraudulent. Recently, I had hired a credit agency to get it corrected but it cost me another $1000.

The only issue was that whoever was allocating the escrow money didn't allocate it correctly. Therefore, this month, I got surprised with my mortgage going up over a hundred dollars. And when I called customer service department to figure out what was going on, they weren't able to give me an answer. They played the transfer game with me. Transferred me to about three or four different departments. Ended up in the escrow department.

The escrow department people tried to help me but they couldn't so I ended up having to call my refinance officer who I dealt with back in August. That's when I did my refinance. And he was able to explain everything to me and figure out what actually happened. But I tried calling the customer service department two or three different occasions and every single time it was just that transfer game. They were horrible. But as far as my refinance officer is concerned, he's great.

I didn't like the used car salesman approach the first two people used. But after those two, the one who actually took care of the transaction and made sure the I's were dotted and the T's were crossed, was fabulous and knew what my options were and discussed them with me. The main benefit of refinancing is going to be the long-term savings that I have. I didn't refinance to lower my payment, I refinanced to reduce my interest rates so I actually am saving - I had 20 years left on my mortgage and now have 15. I'm still making that same payment amount, I just will pay it off a lot sooner. Overall, they were persistent and helpful.

So let me start by explaining how my experience has been with NS. I refinanced my home from Wells Fargo to NS at the end of September. The first payment was due November 1. I am one of these types of people that have pristine credit and am NEVER late. I made November's Payment via their website without a hitch. So far so good.

December's payment I made one and then with the hustle and bustle of life made two payments for December 1st. I did not realize there was already a payment in the queue so as I said I accidentally made two payments. My fault and I take responsibility. However I contacted customer service and asked if I could have a payment sent back. Well you thought I was asking for KFC's secret recipe. Each customer service rep assured me that I would be taken care of and the "check is in the mail". I emailed bank statements and outlined my circumstances and my issues. After several calls and about six hours of my time I decided I would just let the extra fund be applied to my principal and would make certain any automated payment features were turned off from NS website.

January's payment will be fine because I have taken extra precaution and waited until January 5th. Yes it is January 5th no automated payment. Remember I said earlier I am never late so I initiated a payment from my bank. On January 6th double post! Both payments hit! I am livid. I have "posted" two comments on the company's website which have indicated a response from a customer service rep in 1-2 days. Still waiting, I will not hold my breath... All that I want now is someone to assure the new payment is applied right (100% principal) and there will not be any more electronic payments.

My mortgage was acquired by Nationstar after Metlife and First Horizon (affiliated with Nationstar) had held it with minimal issues. The transition was troublesome after sending two months worth of payments to First Horizon, I was now two months behind at Nationstar, which never contacted me about the change. I found out from an envelope on my garage door. It was placed there by an independent inspector that had a phone number for Nationstar, a division of First Horizon, and I was charged $12. So after calling them I made a payment by phone and was charged $15. They had to investigate. I faxed them copies of the canceled checks. Their "investigation" took an additional two months. I still made my monthly payments but by phone $15 for one and, oh boy they gave me a deal on the other payment charging me half price. Thanks. They reported to the credit bureau that I was 2 months behind and charged me another $12 for a home inspection. It was the end of the year now. They finally retrieved the funds from First Horizon and both companies sent me my end of the year statements. This being the first mailing I had received from Nationstar.

After a recalculation of my escrow account I received my first statement. I was now being charged more a month. I knew there would be some fluctuations but it was more than I thought it would be. Still I sent in a check. It took over two weeks from when I sent it for it to be cashed and applied to my account. A $27 and some change late fee was applied. At least I was receiving a statement and not having to be charged to make a payment. The billing statements would show up at the end of the month and knowing my payment wouldn't make it on time I'd send the late fee with it. If I paid by phone it wouldn't be late but I'd pay $15. I already had a late charge and two inspections to pay so if they received it on time it could go to that. So the check was made out to the "if received after date" amount. This was done for several months. I was charged the late fees but had enough to cover them in the "unapplied" funds. I called them and was told the funds could only be applied when it reached a whole mortgage payment and I couldn't pay the fees outright. OK eventually there will be enough. It started to take longer and longer for them to receive and cash my payments.

I began playing the waiting game. Bad idea on my part. Making sure I didn't have too many checks out. Canceling a couple of checks and calling in payments, which were a month late now. Paying my bank $30 for stop payment and now $19 by phone. By stopping payments and trying to send additional payments in I needed more statements to make payments. I requested electronic statements but to still receive the regular paper ones. The statements weren't on their website only one January statement and this was five months in. Supposedly if you sign up for e-billing your statements stop coming. So I switched back and got my first billing two months later.

At the time I requested copies of the statements I missed and got a few black and white copies. None of which I could send in a payment with. They say on the no duplicates or copies excepted. But I at least found that my unapplied funds was now empty and a check was sent to me. I had racked up a sizable amount of fees. At this point I was about a month behind and unable to pay the fees because of it. Even the fees count as being late. I was unable to refinance or go elsewhere because of my delinquency.

I ended up having my hours cut at work and tore my ACL leading to surgery. There was no refinancing, no modification, no help from them at all. I made a payment now and again. Roughly maintaining a two-month delinquency. Until around Christmas time. Mail is slow. My statement didn't arrive until late in the month. I sent out a payment but they were including January and they wouldn't accept my single payment. I was four payments behind and facing foreclosure. Thankfully work picked back up so a 401k loan bailed me out. I paid it all off everything. I was now current. I wanted to refinance somewhere else but my credit took a huge hit and I was far away from the minimum score required at most banks, and lending institutions. So I was forced to stay with them.

I still played the no statement game. Canceling checks. Using bank checks that had a lower stop payment fee. Tried online payments oddly I was unable to log on at the end of the month for several months. Took the one statement I had got and laser color copied it on both sides so you couldn't tell the difference from the original and made payments that way. I also started to use the unapplied fund account to send in partial payments so when a full payment was in there they would apply it to the loan. I never had such difficulty trying to payments as I have with Nationstar.

Now it's the end of the year again. I have a payment and a half in the unapplied funds account that they didn't apply and sent back to me around Christmas time. So I made two months’ payments by phone and set up the payment for the returned amount. They didn't want to apply the three months’ worth. Told me they'd send back my recent payment. And include the January payment that wasn't due. Just so they can say I'm five months behind and threaten foreclosure again. After hours on the phone I got them to apply the two months, supposedly the payment for the returned payment. And hopefully they will cash my recent payment. Leaving me with my current month’s payment to be late by a week.

I know it's not completely their fault but they certainly don't make it easy. Part of me thinks that much of this is on purpose to make money off of me. It's a small amount. But if they are holding a million mortgages and getting $15-20 off each over the phone payment because they don't send out statements, they are making money hand over fist. I'm sure they're not the only company to do this but all I can say is "Wow, what the heck."

I was already thinking about it, besides the letters, but that kind of gave me more motivation to call. So I gave them a call and the people at Nationstar Mortgage were as expected (I had my prior mortgage with them). They were good. They explained my refinancing options. It was straightforward and I understood. They were professional. I don’t have any issues or problems or complaints whatsoever. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I'm now able to save money and have peace of mind knowing that I'm gonna be saving interest over the next 30 years or less than that if I'm able to pay off my houses now.

We were switched over from Bank of America to Nationstar. There were some offers sent to us so we talked about it and my interactions with their professionals were great. There were a couple of things we had to talk about more but they were able to square it away and it was great. I was going through with Nationstar and a different company so I told them if we could go a little lower on the interest rate, which the other company was offering. They went ahead and matched the rate that I wanted and lowered my monthly payment. It was great, no problems and no issues. Whatever I needed they took care of and they've been on top of it.

I had a terrible experience with them. The processor Abby ** was terrible with communicating anything to me. We purchased the house in 2001. Then mortgages were bought and sold and our contract was assigned to Nationstar sometime back in 2004, the soonest that I can think of that we were with them. Then in December 2008 or January 2009 I got it refinanced and got it out of my deceased husband's name and the only thing is they were supposed to give me a clear title to the property. As of now I still haven't received the title to the property. Then in 2013, the company paid my bills and they didn't not alert me to the fact that some money had been taken out for some reason until the third month that the bill was paid. They were charging me $50 a time. They just kept sending checks through and so when I became aware of it then I started trying to do something and Nationstar did not. They were kind of hard-nosed about it. But anyway, then a company called Greenlight contacted me and I got it refinanced through them which is a subsidiary of Nationstar.

During this last refinancing, I tried a couple of times to get the rates lowered and when I would contact them they would tell me that I have a real good mortgage interest which was at the time 5.25. They said it wouldn't be worth it. They would only bring the payment down about $94 a month. They were very helpful in explaining that it would be better for me to just wait, but when you're on limited income, that's almost a month's groceries for one person. So I did it and my payment was actually lowered about $94 so at least I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Overall my experience was quite satisfactory. It was very simple for me to do it because I did everything by the internet and then the time before when I did get it refinanced I had good relations with them. So I would definitely recommend them to anybody that would ask me about it.

The mortgage professionals were on point and quick. In discussing refinancing options, they were very honest, no runarounds and proceeded like "It is what is" and "Let's get it done". At first I wasn't pleased until they finally got it done. Since refinancing my loan I've had peace of mind but at the same time, it was good that they, the way the economy is, were able to bring down a little bit of the interest rate. Great service and great system they have and definitely I'd like to do more of the same kind of business if I could.

Nationstar purchased my mortgage from Bank of America. Nationstar is a pretty large company which I’ve never heard of but they were very good and easy to work with. I refinanced my mortgage with them because I knew I could do better than the high rate. They provided all the paperwork. There was a lot of electronic stuff made available to me, so I didn’t have to be physically present anywhere. The representatives were all very professional, knowledgeable and experienced with what they were doing. There was a different person at every different phase of the process, so I thought it was very well done and it was pretty quick from start to finish. And when we closed, the gentleman that did all the paperwork came to my home. That was amazing. Since refinancing my loan, I'm able to save for my future based on just a little bit more wrapping all the fees, etc. in. I still only owe about a third of what the house is worth and yet I've got a much lower payment that allows me to invest in the future. $280 a month in my savings, which is going to my retirement account.

Nationstar Mortgage is a very easy company to work with and I think they have a very strong reputation, so I hope they make a name for themselves out in the market.

Nationstar ended up buying my loan. I had a change in tenant and I thought it was a good time to refinance. Because the interest rates were low and I was already with Nationstar, I was able to make sure that I didn't have too much money down and then the payment got lowered. The mortgage professionals were pretty good. Things took a little bit longer than I had expected but I don't think it was their problem; I think there were some other things, like I don't know if I had to get underwriting. I took a while but it was good for the most part.

It's the same property and before I refinanced the loan that I had with them, there were some other issues. The thing was in collection. And I'm not 100% sure they were actually following the law. I don't know if the law has changed, but they're like if you're late on a payment, they make it incredibly difficult for you to make that payment that month. Let's say you come in 10 days late, you have to jump through a hoop to get that payment, and then there's a fee associated with it. And then you got to talk to somebody about it. You can talk to three different people on the same phone call, and the three different people will tell you three different things about the status of your account.

I would never finance through Nationstar, I would never suggest to friends to finance through Nationstar, but I am very happy that I was able to refinance through Nationstar because it was just easier that way. If I had refinanced with somebody else, I think it would have taken me longer to do that and maybe even impossible.

I had tried refinancing my mortgage about a year or so ago through Nationstar, and for some reason it didn't work due to some sort of state laws. But I tried it again since there's a new federal type program, and the people that I work with were very knowledgeable and encouraging - they made it very easy for me to proceed, to take care of the paperwork online. Latoya ** was just absolutely fantastic. There was another gentleman, Julian, who was also very, very good, instrumental in getting things rolling along before it went to Latoya. The two of them were very good and worked real hard on my behalf. Without them, I know it wouldn't happen.

Things were not easy, it all got nail-biting towards the end, but we've closed on houses before and that's to be expected. But everyone with Nationstar and Valero (we were sent out to Valero Title in Austin and they were very good) especially the day they closed on me were really hustling to make it all happen and I just appreciated that very much.

So I'd do it again and would definitely recommend them. Like I said, the people I worked with were fantastic. They’re really on the ball. My only comment is that there are other departments who I’m not so sure, like if they’re really sure what the whole game plan is. Nationstar, within each department, has very good communication skills, but from one department to another, it’s kind of funny because since my closing, I keep receiving things in the mail about how you should refinance, and I’m like 'I just did that.' Nationstar could probably save some money and streamline if they increased communication.

The first one I filled up was right after my signing of my refinancing. Then Nationstar did it for a while under my current mortgage and they called me and said, “Rates are down. This is down,” blah blah blah . And I said, “But I only have 4 years left to pay out.” But it would drop my mortgage from a 959 to 503. The holidays are coming, what if I lose my job? It would be safer to go to a lower payment. So I agreed to a refinance. I talked to the guy in October. Mind you they have plenty of time to get me ready. I know everybody is doing it and it’s not just about me. So in October, I talked to Darnell and he was very nice. He gave me some numbers (375 was the one I was supposed to be locked in at. I’m not sure if that’s what I locked in at. I know it changes day by day.) So I get in touch with Denise **. Anyway, she’s the one who’s gonna do my financing, do the paperwork and do the closing and the whatnots.

So she gets in touch with me. It was a little while later, days or so, but still was on October. Everything’s going fine. They sent me the papers. I sign them immediately. I send them back. Then they come back a week later or so. “We need more information about your job...” Then I send them the information. Then I send them an email asking what next I'm supposed to do. Do I just wait? She said just wait, it’s just the underwriters still writing it up...blah blah blah. I was promised a free month of mortgage in December. In other words, I didn't have to pay my mortgage for December. And then I would start my new payment in January. So I said that’s great.

So it’s getting closer to December and I'm like “What’s going on?” “Well, we're still waiting...” Now on the second the lady comes to my house, the notary. She brings all the papers. I had my mortgage set up to be automatically pulled every month from my savings account and I said to her, “You know, they pulled my mortgage today.” And she said, “Oh, wow. Really?” Now Denise at one time had said, “We need to get this done soon because if we don't get it done before the next payment is due, we have to redo everything.” Okay fine. So now they do it on the same day they pulled they want me to sign. Personally made me feel a little not too warm and fuzzy because really where’s the money coming from and where is it going to? Because they pulled it.

The notary was very nice and said, “Oh no, they'll just send you a check.” "Oh cool, that's great." So the next day I emailed Denise. I explained the whole situation. This is what happened. I can't remember if she said they'll just reimburse me. I'm like okay fine. The next thing I know a week’s gone by. Now she’s asking me to send her a statement stating that Nationstar actually did pull my money. Really? They can’t call another department and see that the money has been pulled? I don't know what’s going on with the computers or the people there, but why should I have to show proof that Nationstar took my money? So off to the bank I go because the statement’s not ready yet. I go to the bank. The bank pulls the statement. The woman notarizes it, and I emailed it to Denise that yes, on the second, they pulled $959 from my account. So now we're in to almost middle December. Did I really pay for the month of December or am I getting it free is my question. Then the next thing I know, I'm getting a bill from Nationstar telling me that I missed my payment. How can I miss my payment? They automatically took it. Now I'm getting more frustrated. I’m going back and forth. Now I'm being ignored. I’m not getting and oh yes, or no the check was mailed.

So now I'm calling Nationstar directly and I talked to this woman Dallas, very, very nice. She was your savior for that week because she said, “Well, it looks like they went to write the check but instead of 959 somebody wrote 595.” So I'm like "Fine, is the other 364 or whatever coming?" And she says, “Yes we wrote a second check and it will be mailed.” So the 595 comes. Denise insists she sends me an email - she says, “Your check for 959 has been sent.” “No, it hasn’t. Why are you making this statement if you don’t know the facts?” She says, “The girl must be mistaken.”

Okay so then the check for 595 comes. So I talked to this Ron **, very nice man. He can't understand either. He’s looking at my statement or whatever he was looking at and all of the sudden I hear him say, “What are these two late charges for $43?” Now I'm even freaking out more. You're charging me money for the money you already got? So now I’m worried. Where did you take that money from? Did you show it being removed from the first mortgage and is it now added to the second mortgage, or did you not even show it being removed but you removed it anyway and now this money is in limbo? Am I stealing this mortgage 959 or is it gonna show up somewhere on the first or this refinance one?

So I'm a little leery. Because I’m gonna be paying taxes I wanna make sure I'm not paying an extra month. But then where’s my free December? So anyway, I get the 595. I asked Ron. He says, “No you can't cash it.” I said, "I want to cash it because what if I don’t get the second check coming in?" And he says, “No, feel safe to cash it.” Again, Denise insists I'm getting a 959 payment. I’ve totally written her off because she doesn't even know what’s going on. So now I’m dealing with Ron. And he says, “Let me check this out.” "Just send me a check for 364 or whatever and I’m a happy camper..."

Now I get my second statement in the email from the 19th of December "You have not paid your December payment yet. This is what can happen. This is what you should do.” Really? It was paid off in the 16th. What’s going on with you people? Is it paid, is it not, is it open, is it closed? Are they messing with my credit? Because I worked hard to get my credit the way it is now but it shows that I'm late for one month, a mortgage that doesn't looked good in case I wanna buy another home.

So I just received a check today. I haven't opened it. I'm assuming it’s the final check. Now that would make me a happy camper. Everything would be fine and dandy and I would have no problems because I forgive and forget. At any rate, I was embarrassed for you as a company. You didn't even know what was going on and I think because of the holidays, I give them the benefit of the doubt. It’s the holidays, let’s see if we could squeeze this last one though because we don't want to do it again because the holidays are coming and it’s the end of the year. So I went hmmm okay, hopefully it will work out. But in this one case, I don't think it worked out. Murphy’s Law took over and it’s one of those things where something so small turned into something really big.

I've told this story a lot of times. I pretty much have it down. I’m not angry anymore assuming that check says 360 something. But I was not happy at all. And this is like my fourth time dealing with refinancing or buying or whatever, and I've never had the issues that I had for this one time. If you’re gonna argue with me, you better know that you're right. And this case I just wasn’t feeling comfortable with the professionalism or the smarts that was going on with my mortgage.

That’s all you have to do. Look at the November balance. Now, if the December balance or the pay-off balance is the same as November, then wouldn't you want to keep that 959? So now what they've done is to humor me. I think to just shut me up they said, “Okay we're gonna give you January free instead of February.” So anyway I’m fine. You will get a payment on February and not hear from me until my loan is paid off again, I guess. I’m thinking - gosh I should have waited. I should've just done the four years and then I'd have the house free and clear. But like I said the way times are nowadays. I take pride in my bills and my credit so I didn't want to take a risk of losing a job or not being able to pay. Because that cut my payment in half and I was really happy about that.

Nationstar is lucky they have a few good employees. There were a couple of people that saved them. Because when I was furious, they've calmed me down. Give kudos to those people.

Once I did talk to the manager, they were more receptive and gave me courtesy calls and texted me and emailed me and let me know everything that was going on. Nationstar dropped my payment. It gave me breathing room. I feel very comfortable with it now.

    StaffLoan Process

Since Nationstar was holding my loan to begin with, I figured the refi would be a lot easier because I didn't have to provide all this information to another bank. Their people were professional with any questions I had during the refinancing process. It went pretty good, except I was wondering why I had to go through all the refi when they had all the information already. When they bought me from Bank of America, no one even asked me for the information. I was just told that my loan was sold, so it just doesn't make any sense. But I was able to have a lower monthly payment.

    Punctuality & SpeedLoan Process

I was called by Nationstar and told that I was a good candidate for refinancing. They had bought out my mortgage from Bank of America. They were very professional, and the process happened pretty quickly, so that was good. I had a guy in a totally different city coming out to meet with me to explain my options. The experience with Nationstar has been good and they managed to lower my mortgage payment.

I had a good time with Nationstar. They did a good job. It kind of got messed up the first time around. There were no escrows on it but once we got that straightened out, everything went like clockwork.
