Nationstar denied my loan modification due to me having a negative income (which I thought the option for a loan modification?), so I decided to short sell. Nationstar filed for foreclosure, BUT my loan is still in modification status? Isn't this highly illegal?!? I originally had a Bank of America before B.O.A. sold my loan to Nationstar. On January 5, 2015, I received a phone call from someone named Nedra indicating that she worked with Bank of America. She was calling in regards to an "alleged" letter dated January 2 sent to an Anne Finucane. When I told her that I had not sent any letter to Anne Finucane at Bank of America, she insisted that I had. When I asked to view the letter, Nedra would not send to me for review and simply kept saying "it's just my job to inform you about your options. Why? The two companies are separate. 1. How did Bank of America get a letter I had sent to Nationstar? The two companies are separate... right? 2. Who is Anne Finucane? 3. Why would I not be allowed to view this "letter"?

I originally had my loan with Bank of America and was then transferred to Nationstar. I was hoping to get a better interest rate but I really wasn’t pleased. This was mainly because there had been an issue about our credit card. Someone from Nationstar called one of the credit card companies, inquiring. In fact, the credit card company called me. Of course, they closed that account and had to change and do another account. I never understood why they did that. I almost didn't go through with it because of that. But they cut my payment lower and the interest rate’s lower. The experience was okay but I probably would not do it again.

Nationstar bought my mortgage from Bank of America. Then I received letters about refinancing the place. I was looking for a lower rate and everybody was professional and I received good guidance on the options from the team. I now have lower interest rate and a shorter term. Overall, the experience I had with Nationstar was excellent.

I had a mortgage with Flagstaff and Nationstar took over the mortgages so I was transferred. During the refinancing, there were a couple of delays and concerns and confusion but the rest of the communications were very good. The guidance I got was fantastic and our monthly payment from the refinancing is a huge benefit.

I looked around with other refinance company and they would say they would give me a call back but I never receive a call. Nationstar representatives were good on responding and gave me an update on the status. They knew exactly what they were doing. And what's a plus now is that I could separate. Before I had where everything was congealing with the mortgage, tax and everything. It helped me out with my payments and a little bit with the interest. It's an astonishing experience - their response time, quickness and they had the answer right there. I would recommend them.

Bank of America sold our mortgage to Nationstar. We refinanced because we wanted to go from a 30 to a 15-year. The guy that first took care of me was not very informational. But then he passed me along to a lady named Leslie, who was actually phenomenal, and she's the one that actually closed the loan. I actually thought that the turnaround time was a little crazy as it took a little longer than what I would have anticipated. But I'm sure it was probably because they had her inundated with stuff. She wouldn't even say it, but you could tell. But other than that, the experience was pretty good.
Nationstar was very understanding. At the time we had lost a relative and had been going back and forth to Miami, Jersey, but Leslie was right there with us. I was very impressed with her customer service. Leslie was amazing and that's the way our family particularly felt about her. Getting her on the phone was difficult. But just shooting her an email, she would reply right back within the half hour, not even. It was a pleasant experience.

This loan was transferred from GE to Nationstar Mortgage, then after the Obama Making A Home More Affordable Program kicked in (and my spouse was unemployed for awhile), it went to 4%. But, the balance keeps going UP and we are still paying a small amount toward principal. FEES are close to $500 and cannot speak to anyone. Also, you can leave a message, but receive no return phone call. Although payment was received by due date in 12/2014, they still assessed the Late Fee of almost $40.00.

The biggest part of the experience I've had problems with is that I was with Nationstar before and during the refinancing process it was kind of that limbo process when you're going from one to the next and essentially Nationstar's collection kicked in really hard core. We're waiting for the loan to get funded, so I was getting phone calls at work, I was getting communications at home. It was kind of a drop in the ball where it's like Nationstar was refinancing with Nationstar and essentially tripping their collections. It's kind of an unpleasant thing going on. But to be honest, Nationstar is ruthlessly efficient. I know it doesn't make the best of statements but when the automation kicked in all of a sudden, it's relatively okay done and everyone was professional about it (it's kind of a machine process, I understand that). In general everyone did a fairly decent job. Refinancing options were provided to me in a manner that was fairly comprehensible and refinancing my old mortgage got my credit score to come up.

My refinance with Nationstar is kind of a pain. I had a sales guy named Donald and an underwriter named Kelly **. They were both awesome. They worked with me. They answered all my questions. They were persistent. They were fantastic. That whole underwriting process was great. But I called in to customer service last week because they missed applying my payment and that was not so great. I got hung up on a couple of times accidentally. I had to wait and they're screwing up my payment so I'm not very happy with them right now. But the guidance I've received when discussing my refinancing options was fantastic. Nationstar had a good sales process but they had a bad customer service.

We've had a pretty good experience. I was paying a higher interest rate and Nationstar bought my loan. So I called Nationstar with our current mortgage company for that particular property, asking if they'd be interested in doing a refinancing. They say they will, and that's what we did. They were very polite, helpful and responsive. The only negative part with my experience is that it took longer than I had anticipated and than what they first had told me on how long the process was but the person that I talked to was very knowledgeable and apologetic. Beyond that, everything was great. Everything went pretty smooth. They gave me a very good rate. I've got my rate down.

I had a loan with Bank of America and Nationstar bought my mortgage. I had read an article about the HARP program, it's in the paper. So I called and inquired about it and they said, “Sure, we’re gonna hook you up. This won’t take long...” They told me it was gonna take a couple of months, but this has been going on for about a year, maybe more than a year. Besides that, it was supposed to be nothing out of pocket, just closing a loan. Now all of a sudden, you’re gonna have to show 5 grand or something like that to close it. Well, how are you all been wasting my time? Why are we doing this? “Well, let me go back... we had to take it from 15 years to 25 years because that’s how we got you that extra money." -- Like there will be some time saver the whole time and it’s just big payment here...
I just finished the process but I still don’t know if the damn loan is closed. Everybody’s friendly, but it’s been the worst thing ever. I’m glad it’s over.

My initial review from last week is listed here on my recent dealings with Nationstar over the past two months. This week I was suppose to receive a copy by email and a hard copy of the $1000 escrow check that they informed me was cashed in September 2013. The check was included in my monthly statement and escrow analysis from 2013, according to their representatives.
Today, I received a replacement check for $1000.00. If the check was cashed in 2013, and you were going to send a copy to me this week, why would you send out a replacement check, if the original was cashed without further investigation? Reason!!!! The original check was never cashed, and probably never sent. Nationstar probably assumed that I would give up on trying to locate the money, or find out what happened to it.
Although I received the check, this company is not reputable, and does not conduct business as they should. The issue with the missing check should have been resolved weeks ago, but they do not know what they are doing or how to handle business. I want to get out of my mortgage with them. I was happier, and didn't have any problems when Bank of America had my mortgage, and I would not recommend Nationstar Collection Agency for any financial or other business services.

NationStar purchased or received my mortgage from BOA in 2013. BOA had my mortgage since its inception in December 2006. My payment with BOA has always been made via electronic/automatic draft on the BOA website since I have several accounts with them. I had never had a problem with my payment being made with BOA even when the payment was made up to, or just before the 15 of the month. My payments had never been made past the 15th, and I never received a call from BOA pertaining to payments. With Nationstar the payment remained the same, always before the 15th, but I start receiving several calls a day beginning on the 1st of the month.
In November 2014 I made my regular mortgage payment on the November 6th, and received a call from Nationstar stating my account was short $489.00. When I inquired as to why it was short when I paid the full amount, they stated my payment went up $489.00 due to my taxes going up $3500.00. In addition to them telling me my mortgage was short, the amount I paid was not applied to my account, and the funds that had been paid to them from my bank "was in limbo or not applied to the mortgage due to the entire amount not being paid, and will remain so until the balance is paid."
Going back and forth with them for several hours over several days on how they came up with the shortage, made my mortgage late for the first time in 8 years!!! This shortage was determined by an escrow analysis conducted in August or September. The informed me that they sent me this information in September with a check for almost $1000, but I told them I don't get any hard mail or statements from them, only emails, unless it's for modification. They informed the September information they sent to me contained the escrow analysis, increase information, and the check for $1000.
While they were on the phone I called my township's tax office, who confirmed my taxes were preliminary the same, and may go up $80-$100, but surely not $3500.00. The tax clerk informed me that Nationstar, like other mortgage companies requested a preliminary bill from the tax office, PMI and hazard insurance companies to ensure the escrow account does not go into a negative during the year. The clerk also informed me that they were combining the preliminary bill for the first half of the year 2015 for $1700.00, plus the full amount for year 2015-2016, combining two tax years, which the full amount should only be $3500 for the entire year. I relayed this information to the Nationstar representative who told me that they couldn't take my word or the clerk's word over the phone, and that they would reach out to the tax office and do another escrow analysis, and send me the results in 5-10 business days.
After not hearing from them in 14 days, I called back. Now they tell me the increase from the analysis was not due to taxes, but due to a shortage in taxes when they received the loan from BOA. They accounted the taxes as being $1700, which was only half of what should have been paid in 2013, AND THEY JUST CAUGHT THE DELINQUENCY OR SHORTAGE. In addition, they informed me that the account had a surplus, and they sent me a check for the difference, which was almost $1,000 in September 2013.
Checking all my accounts, and having the banks complete an investigation of the Nationstar check number and amount, no check was deposit or applied to any of my accounts for those amounts. Then they told me the check was sent to my state Treasury for unclaimed funds, which also turned up nothing. Then they told me the amount was applied back into the mortgage or escrow, which after calling back several times, several reps. told me this didn't happen, and they have to to run an investigation to see if the check was cashed. Calling back in December 2014, they told me they put a stop payment on the check, but the investigation didn't say if it was cashed.
Calling in January 2015, they told me the stop payment showed that the check was cashed, and it would take another 7-10 days to sent me a copy by email or mail. The check for the $1000 was not cashed by me, and Nationstar stating that it was cashed is a delay tactic in paying the amount to me now, or applying it back to the escrow or mortgage, which again has not been done according to their escrow customer service department. In addition to this, they have sent me mortgage modification information, and after going through the process twice, they tell me they can't do anything, but every other week they call about modifying the mortgage.
Today, January 6th, I called FHA and filed a complaint with them, while also inquiring about my options of getting out of the loan with Nationstar. I'm at my wit' end with them, especially with $1000 hanging in limbo which belongs to me, or should be applied back to the mortgage or escrow account. Run and stay clear of Nationstar!!!! If your mortgage is acquired by them, refinance it with another company immediately!!!!

I saw some interesting things on the Nationstar website, like lower interest rates and the fact that refinancing through Nationstar was going to be a lot easier than starting over with a bank. They were all very professional and warm. The guidance I received regarding my refinancing options was very considerate and very helpful. I got lower payment and lower interest rate. Everyone was very upfront with communication and their emails. There was no secret about how to get a hold directly of the person you had spoken to. They sent you an email, “hi this is my name, this is how you get a hold of me, and I’ll be handling this and this and this.” A lot of times, you just have this vague 1-800 number - you call and you can never get connected back with the person you had this time before. None of that happened. They made the process easy. You apply online, a person calls you the very same day, they re-check your information, put your application in, boom, boom, boom. I could go on and on. You could always get a hold of them, they always call you back. Everything about it was easy and upfront, easy to understand.

They had some good people on there working on the loan and then the loan processor was terrible but the loan manager was an excellent person. It was a little back and forth, but it was stuff that had to be done on my part that would've had to be done no matter who. I ended up paying more than I was expecting to pay. Even though we got a lower interest rate, we got 10 years added on to it and I'm starting to rethink that. My second mortgage has bounced around from countrywide to B of A and finally landed with Nationstar. Today I set up a payment plan to bring my account current. I have tried logging in - even changing my password three times - I have still been unable to access my account. I was told that if I did not make timely payments my plan would be null and void. I do not understand how I am expected to make the payments online as we discussed if my account is still locked.
Additionally I was told after I went through the trouble of notarizing a modification offer that nationstar sent me that they do not offer modifications on second mortgages. Why did they send me the packet then? Also it seems like poor business to not offer modifications on a second mortgage since I am current on my first and my house is worth less than half of what I owe in total on my first. Obviously a foreclosure would result in all parties losing money. Wouldn't a modification be better for business all around? I am very dissatisfied with this lender and would not recommend to others.

Nationstar bought my loan from Bank of America and sent me a letter that told me about it. The refi process was taxing. They were sometimes difficult to get a-hold of. From a mortgage refinancer, I went to a mortgage broker. They got the job done though there are still some problems with it. They got to refinance them but there was just some degree of lack of respect, like they just wanted to get everything done. And then helping me get through the problems afterwards and the fact that my money has been overdrawn and it hasn't been fixed since the refi -- they haven't been any help with that.
Refinancing with them would save me money but thus far it's not because they've overdrawn me. I can't figure out how many numbers I called since I got transferred to one person to another and to another and I think at least half of them do not work in this country. Half the time I feel like I'm talking to somebody offshore and that's quite frustrating. I found one guy that was actually working onshore. Every time he has to get somebody on the account. He was useful but he had nothing to do with my loan. He wasn't able to take care of me but at least he took some interest in me and in my case. He really tried to connect me and we found somebody else that kept requesting somebody on-shore to help me with my thing and then that guy started looking and that kind of hung up and ultimately it ended up with me getting his phone number and the plan to be for me to call back on the 22nd and hopefully until they could figure something out.
I wish Bank of America had never sold my loan to Nationstar. I was in the process of trying to refinance and then when they sold it to Nationstar my ability to refinance went away because Nationstar held on to any paperwork. They were not processed. They gave me a payoff letter for 3 months after the loan was purchased and by that time I lost my ability to refinance because the rates went up. I would also like to have them call me back and figure out why I have $1,500 missing. So there are a number of occasions that I feel like I have been screwed by Nationstar and I don't feel like I have any recourse or anybody to listen to me. I have a low level of confidence with them and if somebody would ask me would I recommend Nationstar, I don't think I would because it has been frustrating.

I got transferred to Nationstar from Bank of America and the former sent me about 52 letters on refinancing my mortgage. I went with them because everything was already there. I think we did one refinance with them. If I had a choice, I wouldn't do it again. Their underwriting is extremely chaotic. We had closed. I had fines since they were still asking for a check two months of bank statements after the fact with no reason. We were signed, they came to my house, sealed, done and then they say, “Oh, we need two months bank statements.” I said, “We already sign, guys. I’m going to China.” I’m an airline pilot. And of course they say "sir, well, we can’t fund it until then." So the funding got delayed dramatically. And they didn't do an appraisal. All the underwriters are very cautious but it's kind of lazy for the consumer. If it wasn't for that great processor, Frank, I would have pulled the plug and find somewhere else. He set things in order from the underwriter, so I did understand his point of view. So I never got mad with Frank, it's the underwriter that kind of run me through the wringer. Never do refinancing with Nationstar again; I certainly wouldn't.

The initial salesperson was very good, very professional, very responsive and informative. But the man who was managing the loan process was horrible. After the salesperson handed me off, he never called me. I had to keep calling the salesperson to say no one has called me what's happening? Apparently, the guy went on vacation but did not communicate that to me. I don't know why he just went on vacation and they didn't give it to someone else. And then when he finally did call me he was very difficult to understand. His English was not that good and he was piecemealing information.
I kept asking him "Tell me everything you need from me." Then he was like oh ok and that's it and then I would give him everything and my responses were pretty immediate and then he would come back with something else. Oh we need this, oh we need that, and then he was (I can't remember what it was) but he was miss communicating information so I finally called my salesperson. I said, "I don't understand what he was asking me for now. I was told that I didn't need anything else and now he's saying X, Y and Z." Then the salesperson said "No, he's asking for this and you don't need to send anything else." So they had to go back to him and tell him to close the loan because it was hanging on... I had to get really angry and I was like "we need to escalate it" because that's how irritated I was getting.
Anyway, now my APR is lower and so is my mortgage payment. So I like the outcome but the transition was painful. Also I don't understand why I would have been referred to another mortgage company initially. Because initially when I contacted Nationstar I was forwarded to another mortgage company, which I thought was weird. But I stayed with them because their sales guy called me asking for the closing loan amount (because I was to close with someone else) and said "Wait a minute, Ms. **. We want to keep you with us. What can we do?" Blah, blah, blah and then I told him and he did it.

Bank of America transferred my mortgage to Nationstar. I understand that Nationstar is a subsidiary of Bank of America. Basically they had sent an offer. We went through this a couple of times. The first time they called me and said, “We understand you want to refinance.” But I didn’t ask for a refinance and I stopped it at that point. But this time around, I got a phone call, and I just went ahead and I had them look into it. They had my current mortgage at this point so for convenience, I went with them.
For the most part, it was okay working with their mortgage professionals. My problem is that the refinance took way too long because we started at the end of September and I didn’t settle ‘til December. I was just frustrated. My expectation is it looks like we’re going forward on this day, and so I’m ready and waiting and I don’t hear anything. I don’t get any call that say, “Oh, we’re not going forward. There’s something that come up.” So I’m waiting around and that’s just a waste of my time. There’s basically too many people: one person who got the rate and we talked about options and then there’s the person who actually handled the servicing and getting the refi through the process.
There was one person I dealt with and I’d get a response. He was very knowledgeable. He was fairly clear on everything that we discussed. The second person did what they needed to do but things could have been communicated a little more frequently. Like if you call me we’re gonna go forward and then I don’t hear anything. That’s my biggest issue with this whole process. I’m thinking, if you’re doing this all the time, you gotta have a checklist, like when you tell me I need a second bank statement or it needs to be certified by the bank, you need to make sure the bank signed every page if they have to do a printscreen. Those are the type of things that are aggravating to me. Here in this business, you should know what should be going on.
And then I think from the fact that I’m on the east coast and the people I was dealing with were on the west coast, the timing difference caused some problems sometimes because I don’t do things from work, like use the fax machine or email stuff from work. But at the top ‘til the end of the day whenever I’ve taken my lunch hour, there were those timing issues.
But it wasn’t a totally horrible experience. The benefit is because I consolidated the loan, I am making a little bit less even though my interest rate went up a touch. There are just some things that could improve, like having a checklist so you should know what you’re asking me for than to come back and ask me again.

Nationstar has been our lender for a few years now and we just refinanced with them because we're going to put our escrow in with our payment. We spoke mainly with the girl at Greenlight Loans, a Nationstar subsidiary - it dragged on for about 90 days so we're not too happy about that. Guidance on my options was nonexistent, the loan officer wasn't helpful at all. I knew what I wanted and they didn't offer anything different. I'm not happy with the refinance because now I found they did not pay my homeowners insurance and I got to continue paying it on top of my usual payment because they didn't collect before the closing. I would not do business with them again.

I did have one problem with the first person I spoke with, information that I didn’t get early on in the process that would have been extremely helpful for me. But the whole experience definitely met my expectations in the end. They did answer all of my questions.

The initial contact I had with the nice lady in customer service was very helpful. That’s what started the process for us. She said, “hey, you should consider refinancing because you could do better...” She was so helpful! I can’t think of her first name but I know her last name is ** and I think she lived in Texas or something like that because she had a southern accent. She was so awesome, she rocked!

We’re glad to hear the refinance process was a positive experience and that our customer service was on point. Thanks for your feedback!

I'd done business with Nationstar in the past so I let them handle my refinancing as well. The whole process was fairly simple. The representatives were very professional and gave me guidance that is concise and to the point. They seemed to be very friendly and easy to work with. I now have a better, lower rate. Nationstar bought my mortgage from Bank of America. I had to retire early from work due to disability, so I needed to reorganize my finances and I’m grateful that I was able to refinance within Nationstar, as opposed to having to go somewhere else. I guess in the long run it doesn’t make that big of a difference, I just redid the amount that I was spending upfront, but it was helpful in reducing what I’d have to pay on a monthly basis.

My loan was in a package of loans that got sold to Nationstar. I was just looking at various options on refinancing so I inquired with them. I chose them in the end because it was convenient. Their mortgage professionals were fine except they bounce names a little bit too much so you weren't quite sure who was who. The discussion of the refinancing options was fine. With the refinancing, I have a shorter term of pay and a lower interest rate. My only problem I have with Nationstar is they need to separate their mortgage and debt collector.

The processor knew her job but there were some things that I thought were kinda silly but it is what it is, it wasn't her fault, it was the person reviewing the refinance. They already had the loan and there are certain things that they need again. It’s not like I’m transferring loans so I thought that was kinda silly. I was looking to do some work on my home for improvement and I was in the midst of working with a mortgage broker that I had used a number of times. The pay-off request that was sent to Nationstar triggered a call to me to offer to basically beat the rates I was able to get with the mortgage broker I was working with. They were professional - prompt in responding to my request, provided thorough information, very helpful and great to work with throughout until the very end. But once the loan was funded, it took two days from the time it was funded until I actually got my funds, and I’ve never experienced that before, but the guidance that I received when discussing my refinancing options was excellent. The interest rate was half a percent lower than what I was able to get elsewhere and so far the mortgage broker that I had been working with, the rates that were being offered by Nationstar were not available on the market. It became clear to me that Nationstar wanted to keep my loan and was willing to lose some money in the deal. And as a result, the total interest that I’m going to pay over the life of the loan is lower and the monthly payments are lower. I was very satisfied.

Nationstar contacted us about our re-fi. I believe it was a streamline re-fi. They contacted us about it and we went through the process. Before we did that, we had no issues with Nationstar. But during the re-fi thereafter, it got a little confusing because they messed up on our re-fi that they did. They said our monthly mortgage was one amount and it came out to be another amount, a higher amount. And they messed up on our taxes. They assessed them almost $3,500 higher than what they really were, so that affected our monthly mortgage. We actually had to pay a higher mortgage because if we didn't, they would send it into collections and it would affect our credit. But it was their mistake. They admitted it was their mistake but yet we still had to pay the higher mortgage.
We did get in contact with Nationstar. They did rectify the situation and basically brought it back down to where they told us the mortgage is going to a be at before we did the re-fi. And we were on time/current with our mortgage with Nationstar, but it was like they didn’t see that as far as longevity and compliance with paying on time. But other than that, we've been okay with them. I’m glad that we did come to conclusion that benefits Nationstar and the homeowner as a customer.

Just received notification from Chase that my loan has been sold to NS. It was quite the new jerk for me as I had just gone through a 9-month nightmare with them and our rental property that was included in our chapter 7 bankruptcy in October 2013. I was contacted in November asking me if I would like to forego the foreclosure process with an option of a Deed in Lieu or short sale. The latter did not appeal to me but the DIL did as this is a kinder way of releasing a property that you can no longer hold on to. We had no intention of keeping the property so I agreed to proceed. I was told that NS had the authority to offer 6k to pay off my second with BofA (government funds) so that was the first step, which I initiated. Going through BofA and their outsourced company was a nightmare in itself but finally in May of 2014 I was contacted by an actual BofA rep who told me she was at the final step of releasing the lien but had not received the 6k payment as agreed from NS.
Numerous calls to my so called designated rep @ NS were never returned, I had to go through a "chat" type of communication where another rep contacted my point of contact. On this occasion he responded that the payment was made. Again the BofA rep said the payment was not sent and she advised that I sign off on a release so she could call John at NS. He immediately returned her call apparently and told her he "thought" it was sent but there must have been a glitch and it was resent. This caused my DIL to go back to the attorney with NS so expect another hold up of over a month, but that it was going through, merely a formality. In the interim my BofA rep who was extremely helpful had sent confirmation of payment then emailed asking if I could get the final recorded confirmation of the BofA release of lien from Pima County. I went online and noticed the BofA release and one other from a mortgage trust company. I requested both recordings and received them in the mail. I was beyond shocked to see the trust release was to a real estate LLC company - they foreclosed the property and it was sold through public auction, days after the BofA recorded the lien release.
Nationstar has indeed been sued for fraud etc. After reading so many horrible experiences on this website I do hope that an attorney can help at least some who are seriously struggling and at risk of losing their homes and perhaps this can be accomplished through a class action lawsuit. This predator company needs to be stopped...and now I am forced to have to deal with this company again when I had put this horrible experience behind me. Very disconcerting...

I was with Aurora Bank and my loan was automatically transferred to Nationstar a couple years ago. Then last fall I tried to lower my interest which was high and Nationstar worked with me. They didn’t work with me at first, I had to wait a year. I don’t know what the deal was, but they have their rules I guess. Finally I went through the paperwork with them late last summer and by September, they were able to lower the interest which was good... Because it was ending up that my rent payment was less than what the payment was gonna be, with the high interest and taxes and insurance, and then the time we got to do it my renter had left after 11 years and that kind of put me in a bad light for the past four months because I lost all the income from the property.
Anyway, Nationstar did remarkably well and very fast in giving me the break. So that part was good. However in November 2, Nationstar had sent me two refund checks which I took it down to my bank and cashed it, which was $600. Well, I figured it was a mistake on escrow for some reason. So I had written a letter and they said this time I was only entitled to the one check. The other check was to go for the escrow on the new loan, but I was not told that. So I had written a bunch of checks on my account to finish up the payments, and they all bounced. And it was quite a bit of money, $34 plus they stopped payment on the check and I didn’t know it till I got the bank statement. All this came to light and it was $12 that I had to pay for a mistake. I was overwhelmed by it all. I was angry there because everything is accounted for what I have to pay out to live.
Again Nationstar did a good job of refinancing for me. But I would like to have my refund. Still like not to be charged the $12 for stop payment on what I thought was mine. That was kind of tough. I was just thinking about that today and I thought well I guess they made up their mind. It was good enough that they did the loan, but I guess they’re not gonna refund the insufficient funds on the other, the way they talked on the comment after they reviewed the record or my letter. I still thought it wouldn’t hurt them to do a recourse on that.

We have a mortgage with them and they sent us information saying that if we wanted to refinance and get a lower interest rate, that that might be a good thing for us to try so we called and got in touch with some company associated with Nationstar that does all this work for them. And they said "Yes, I think that would work for you" and "send us these pieces of information like income tax returns" and that sort of thing which is usual. And so we did all of that. But the entire process took an extremely long time. We must have sent them five or six hundred pages of details. And they kept asking things over again that we had already sent. So I don't think there was very good communication between the three parties that were supposed to be handling things.
They did not seem to understand a lot of things that we have because we own a number of rentals, but they were very straightforward. There was nothing mysterious about them. They kept asking about where did this money come from, where did that money come from? Things of that sort, which were a little bizarre. They were overly demanding in information. Otherwise, it was all long distance and Laurie, who was our last contact, just worked really hard. She put herself out immeasurably to get everything together. She did a very nice job and really helped a lot because she was getting lots of difficulties from the underwriters who continually asked for additional information.
We've bought 50 houses over our lifetime so we have had a lot of experience in getting mortgages and getting refinancing. And this was one of the strangest and most difficult ones we've ever dealt with. Anyway, we got a much lower interest rate, and we did pay down a little bit more so our monthly payments are like $300 a month less, so that was a good thing. But I was not happy with the experience and I don't think I would recommend it to a friend. If they had to go through everything we went through, they would give up long before they got it done.

My son is a Jr and my husband a Sr but we have (of course) totally different addresses and totally different SOCIAL SECURITY #'S which in itself should have been looked at first before the name. If someone was aware and doing their job correctly this would have never happened. My son's attorneys office called as soon as I was informed that this bankruptcy was attached to our mortgage and they faxed over all the required paperwork to prove that this was not our bankruptcy. She (the attorney's secretary) spoke with Vanessa who told the attorney's secretary it would be taken care of. Needless to say, I have spoken with Courtney and Erin in the past 2 months and other people in between who promise the issue will be taken care of and as of this date, we still have this bankruptcy attached to our mortgage. I cannot get on line access to our mortgage so I can make a payment as I usually do and they are telling me that I can make it with an Customer Service rep over the phone for $20.00 or sent a certified check.
This is not our bankruptcy, they have paperwork to prove it is not ours and I should have to pay no more than the $9.95 I pay when I pay on line. This is a situation that I have been told would be cleared up in 3-5 days then 5-7 days then 7-10 days. I was told by Courtney that it would be cleared up and she would post it on her calendar to check up on it and as soon as it was cleared she would call and let me know. I never received that phone call. I also wrote a letter on Dec. 19, 2014 to the Customer Relations Dept. at Nationstar and no one ever responded to my letter. I am at my wits end. I keep getting promises and apologies and am told that the situation would be cleared up as I was also told that me and my husband's name and social security #'s are not attached to any filed bankruptcies but it is still on our mortgage. I don't know what other steps to take other than to hire an attorney which I feel I shouldn't have to do and acquire that expense since they have the proof in black and white. It has now been 2 months.

I was seeking assistance with a loan modification after experiencing a death in the household. I complained in January 2015, because, in the past, I had not been given fair consideration for a lower monthly payment. However, to my surprise, Nationstar Mortgage came through for me in a special way and expedited the process. Within six months I had a permanent lower payment. My new payment is less than $525.00 per month insurance and taxes included. If I had not received assistance it could have easily been about $800.00 per month by now. I did not hire an attorney. I worked closely with my mortgage company until the modification was complete. I contacted them at least once a week and the modification went well. I am happy with the new lower payment.
I did not qualify for HAMP but I qualified for a Standard Loan Modification. My Nationstar representative assured me to take the first step and fill out the application. He asked me not to get discouraged if I did not qualify for HAMP, which I expressed my frustration. He said they had other modifications to consider if HAMP was denied. So I sent in the paperwork even though I wasn't optimistic about the outcome originally. However, I got a great news when I called. I was informed that I was APPROVED FOR A STANDARD LOAN MODIFICATION.

I called Nationstar regarding correspondence they mailed me and was transferred to four different people and not one of them was able to assist me. I was told after they sent me papers for a Harp Loan that I did not qualify, so I was transferred to three other staff members to see what other options were available to help struggling property owners with homes sufficiently underwater homes and was not given any options. The last person they transferred me to refused to tell me what the possible options could be, but insist only in sending me a packet of information to fill out and send back to Nationstar.
On January 2, 2015 she informed me that they did not receive my December payment, therefore I owe an additional $26, plus I owe for January now, plus over $300 for escrow fees. She said I suddenly owe them over $2000 to become current in payments. I explained that my home which currently have electrical issues, flooding basement, and many items in need of repair and replacement is only worth $48,000 and I owe a total of about $92,00 including my home equity loan. I shared with her that two of my neighbors' homes have been foreclosed upon, and the one has been vacant since July 2013, and I was trying to get my payments lowered since my interest rate is 6.25 % and my mortgage insurance is about one-hundred thirty dollars.
I have been in my home almost 12 years and I am only one payment behind thus far, and they have made lots of money off the loan to this date. My mortgage payments have been between $740 - $780 monthly over the past 12 years. It seems to me that they just want to foreclose on the property with no consideration of the homeowner and what they have already invested in the property. They act like loan sharks who are heartless when it comes to reducing payments to help homeowners save their homes which have lost tremendous value since 2006. I am faced with not many options, since there is no money for repairs and the home is literally falling apart.
The neighbor has gone downhill since the Ferguson unrest, and Nationstar obviously want to take the home back, remodel it, and see if they can sell it for about $40,000 and see if they can collect on the private mortgage insurance they have overcharged me for over 12 years. They bought the loan from my first mortgage company several years ago, and I have been treated poorly every time I have called them even when my mortgage was paid up. All they want is money and more money with no regard to the economy or customers experiencing financial troubles. It is so sad this type of situation is happening to many homeowners. Nationstar is a horrible! I will continue to research my options since they don't care one way or the other.

We originally secured a loan with Countrywide in 2007. In 2009, BofA took over. We attempted to refinance the option ARM loan 3 times with BofA between 2010 and 2011. After listening to the lame and ridiculous reasons why a refinance was not possible, I finally researched our loan and discovered that it was packaged into a trust by Goldman Sachs and the "sales" required to conduct this transaction were never truly conducted. I quit paying on the loan in Sept 2011 until BofA could PROVE their right to collect. BofA never did provide proof; instead they passed off the servicing rights to Specialized Loan Services. We drove from Washington state to Denver, Co and confronted SLS about their authority to collect payment which they could not verify. SLS passed off the servicing rights now to Nationstar Mtg. Again I have challenged NSM authority to collect payment (via numerous written correspondence).
Now I don't even receive a monthly statement from them. No letters, no phone calls... nothing. Hey, if you have the authority to foreclose, do it punks. But they don't, all of these financial institutions should be held accountable in a court of law for STEALING HOMES they have absolutely no connection to. Yet homeowners (like ourselves) have put 20% down, made monthly payments, improvements AND OUR NAME IS ON THE CONTRACT! Nationstar's name is NOT on our Note and neither is trustee, Deutsch Bank. I was on an interest-only for about ten years, so we had to do something and convert it - it all worked out okay.

I had to deal with three different loan processors at Nationstar. The last one was a wonderful person. The first one was not helpful. Then I had to resubmit a loan a second time. We had a problem because the guy wasn't too knowledgeable what he was doing, so I didn't want to deal with him. I went back and I called and Andy was wonderful. He helped me. Then everything was fine after that.

Nationstar sent me paperwork in the mail that I could qualify for refinancing the home loan. They were all very helpful, friendly and able to answer questions I had. They were quick and responded back to anything right away if I had to give them a call. Everything went smoothly and I got lower interest rate as well as managed to get the PMI off of the loan. Every other place when I bought my home, I had to go back and forth but with them, it was one of the easiest loan processes I’ve ever done for my home. Being able to do the doc signature on the computer helped out so much more. I recently told my cousin to give them a call.

Nationstar was part of our refinance and it's still the same company that we had financed with before. They are okay except for the fact that they kept on asking for resubmission of paperwork and that became tedious and frustrating. But they lowered our monthly mortgage and we were basically able to maintain the same amount.

I and my partner have been dealing with Nationstar for more than 10 years, they have done nothing but lie to us the entire time. This year we went through almost getting our house foreclosed on by them, and finally getting past that we are still receiving statements saying that we still owe attorney fees, this is after we paid $10,000.00, and we were told that all fees were taken care we even received a statement and a letter. I have called them many times try to get answers to our questions, but when we call our calls are sent to an office in Malaysia, and when we ask to speak to someone in Texas we are continually passed around from one Malaysian agent to another.
One year ago we sent a electronic money transfer of $5,000.00 right from our credit union using the information we got from them. Six months later we get a letter stating they never received it, (lost the money) they promised to find it so here we are one year and still they say they have no record of the transaction. They will not even cooperate with our credit union telling them they had the wrong information and they never talked to them. Nationstar is always adding some kind of maintenance fees they say that we own. The company is run by loan sharks and criminals. We are going to be trying to refinance soon as this year is up, but I am sure Nationstar will make it hard for us.

Approximately 1 year ago my mortgage was sold from Bank of America to Nationstar. The very first month they told me I was late on my payments because their due date is different from what Bank of America's was. This did not make sense as it was still in the same month. During the summer I fell a month behind. I made a payment and still needed to make another payment to be caught up. Nationstar then began to refuse to accept my money but kept hitting me with late fees and charges. In October I attempted to make a payment over the phone and they told me my account had just been credited with a payment from my bank. I told them that my online account did not show that and I wanted to make a payment. I was told they could not accept a payment at that time. I was told to call back in a week.
A week later I tried to make a payment and the same thing happened. I later tried to make a payment with my mastercard debit card from my bank. Nationstar told me they do not accept Mastercard. My ex husband tried to make a payment on a Visa debit card and same thing. He was told they do not accept Visa. How can you be a debt collector and not accept mastercard, visa, or debit cards? I attempted payment through Western Union only to have my payment blocked as they said it was not sufficient. The last blow was them now telling me I owe $1895.00 which they continued to block my payment through western union. I called NS and said I have $1895.00 in cash and am sending a cashiers check. They told me not to send it because with additional fees that was not enough and they would return the cashiers check back to me. My mortgage payment is only $631.00!!! I told them I have their money in hand but have no way to get it to you as you won't accept my money. I am ready to just walk away. I never get my dedicated loan specialist. I'm not sure she even exists! I am ready to join a law suit. I am helpless with this company and my children and I wonder if we will be able to keep our house. Someone help me!!!

This is the worst mortgage company of all time. Since 1993 I bought a home. Bank of America was the bank I had my loan with. Then in 2000 something it switched to Nationstar and I'm not sure why. I am very clueless about everything, I don't know about homes too much. I bought one because my husband at the time and myself could afford one. Then we separated and I couldn't afford it anymore. I lost both of my parents in a matter of 6 months and I was traveling back and forth to PR and I couldn't pay mortgage for that time. Then it got worst with all the late fees, etc. I tried to get modification 5 times and declined 5 times.
Now I've been trying to sell my home for the past 2 years. They keep calling me and calling me. I told them I am selling the home. Now, that I'm about to be in closing in selling my home, I get a letter saying I'm approved for a modification. Now they want to approve me? After all those times I tried before. I tried 5 times and declined 5 times. I been paying for this house since 1993-2009 and I'm still living here. So since 2009-2014 I haven't paid a month of mortgage. And now they want to approve me. They want me to pay another 20 years? That's like paying 40 years for this house. I got sick because of them, high blood pressure, etc. We need to come together and do a lawsuit.

This letter is regarding the concerns I have in dealing with the Nation Star Mortgage regarding my numerous attempts to communicate and discuss my home loan modification with the aforementioned company. 3 months ago I learned that Nation Star Mortgage had taken over my loan from Bank of America through a notice of default letter I received in the mail. I then, immediately contacted them asking if I could re-send my documents to proceed with the loan modification I had been trying to work out with Bank of America. In my 12 attempts to call and email the assigned loan counselor, I never once received a call back or email response.
Since I was going nowhere with trying to communicate with Nation Star Mortgage, I wrote a letter to the Secretary of State explaining the issue at hand. They responded and directed me to contact the local HUD program in my area. I was then assigned Maru ** , an experienced HUD counselor from the neighborhood house association. Ms. ** and I diligently worked together to provide and complete the 71 page loan modification documents. We submitted this lengthy document every week consistently over the past 90 days.
The response each week was that something was missing or a new document was needed that was not previously mentioned the prior week in order for us to prepare accordingly. Some other excuses given to us by Nation Star Mortgage were they hadn't reviewed it yet, they needed more time to make sure packet was complete, or they hadn't received the forms yet. Although, the document was confirmed as received by the counselor the same day it was sent, Nation Star Mortgage denied receiving the information. They have only stalled my situation, giving me nothing but excuses so that they can take my home. They did not follow through as a company, never reviewed my documents and had absolutely no intention of working with me to try and keep my home.
The final result now is my home is up for auction January 2, 2015. I find this form of bad business to be unethical and should be considered criminal.

RESPA is a federal law that allows mortgage companies to keep only 2 months of escrow payments on hold against your mortgage account. Nationstar violated this federal law on my account. As of 11/10/2014 I had $887 in it and with my December 2014 payment another $446 was being added. However, from some strange reason Nationstar told me my escrow amount was too low and would not release my December 1, 2014 to my mortgage account. I paid their requested extra amounts of $178.65 then logged in again today and was informed I owed an additional $73.92.
I had over $900 in the escrow account which was more than the required amount allowed by federal law so instead of addressing this they mailed me a check for $412.77 to correct their violation of the federal law. Why couldn't they fix all their errors instead of just charging me more $$ for their mistakes and violation of federal laws & why would you mail a person a check and tell them they owed you more money? On top of this they charged me $9.95 for each payment I made to fix this issue so I was out close to $30 and Nationstar owed me money, LOL! which was correct because they mailed me a check.

Nationstar is not a mortgage company - it's a glorified debt collector. They start calling you within 5 days past due even though customers are allowed a 15 day grace period. Or at least that's what the statement says. You receive automated robo calls and/or computer generated letters in the mail which are not signed by anyone nor with a direct contact name you can call. These letters will advise you to call customer service to discuss your options. If you do call you'll find your only options are foreclosure or bring your account up to date. If you ask them to stop calling, they keep calling anyway. You never talk to the same person twice.
As of December, I haven't even received a statement from them since September but my phone constantly rings. For now I'm ignoring their calls and hope to be caught up this month. When you get caught up, the calls stop. I guess you're taken off whatever blacklist they work from. Do they think I'm not paying my monthly bill just because I feel like not paying? What's the purpose of all these calls? They're wasting their time and mine. The only way to keep these people off your back is bring your account up to date or pay them off. Unfortunately, not everyone is in a position to do that so you're stuck dealing with these kinds of people. I would advise anyone, especially young people just starting out in life, to stay out of debt no matter what. It can ruin you.

Rep told me it was their mistake but it's pretty much my problem to deal with and that he would be able to fix anything for 7 to 10 business days. So in meantime it's Christmas and I have had all my money sucked out of my account by Nationstar. I put more money in 2 days ago and guess what they charge me again for 917. Sucked all money out of my account.. And it's Christmas and I have overdraft fees at my bank for fraudulent charges from Nationstar plus fees from Nationstar..

Our loan was sold from Bank of America to Nationstar last year. We have made our payment on time each and every month. They sent us a letter last week indicating that we are $40,000 behind on payments and that we must pay it or they will foreclose. We have hired an attorney to defend us and he suggested we file official complaints with The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. It wasn't until we filed the complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that we were even able to get someone to address our concerns. They are the government entity that oversees consumer complaints against financial institutions and I would recommend you all file complaints there if you have issues with Nationstar.

After reading several of the comments (mostly negative) posted on this Consumers Affairs website, I see that I'm NOT alone in the boat, regarding doing business with Nationstar. I too have experienced having my loan which started with Bank of America sold several times. I have lost count the number of times I've applied for a loan modification and for one reason or another it never gets approved. Either they say, "They need more documentation", which was in the packet I originally sent, but I send it again but they mysteriously say they've never received it.
As many people have commented on this website, once you fall behind on your monthly payments, their position is they want ALL the back payments AT ONCE and WILL NOT accept partial payments. Or, if you try to begin paying your monthly payments while trying to work out solution to get your account current with them, they WILL NOT accept it. It's ALL NOW or NOTHING!!! I don't know if the people on here that have said they want to hear from others that have had similar experiences regarding Nationstar to begin a "class-action" suit against them or if they're just blowing smoke. But if those people are serious, please let me know.

I received a letter in May of 2014 that my real estate taxes for the previous year had not been paid. My taxes are escrowed and the funds were there. I contacted NS and they said it would be taken care of in 10 business days. In August I received another letter from the county saying the taxes were not paid. Again NS promised it would be taken care of in 10 business days and that they were "very sorry". The middle of October, another letter. Now my house is slated for the auction on the courthouse steps the beginning of November. After 3 more calls to NS and no check being received by the county, I went and paid the taxes myself. I sent NS a certified letter on November 6. On November 12th they responded that they will address the matter by December 23rd. When I call NS, I get a message that my wait time will be more than 5 minutes. A minute later I am disconnected. I resent that my name was published in the paper 3 times for non-payment of taxes. In fact I first found out about this from a neighbor who saw it there. I think for their lies, deception, and incompetence, they should be barred from doing business. If I were in better financial condition, I would not have hesitated to take them to court.

We had recently bought a house and Nationstar bought our mortgage. I knew something was wrong when I got the first bill and it was sent to our old address (even though the old mortgage company was sending mail to the new address). I submitted a change of address TWICE before I had to call them and give them my address. When I talked to someone about this, they made it seem like it was my fault that they never entered in the new address. During this time, I was late on a payment because they sent an insufficient funds letter to the wrong address. When I found out about this, I paid the mortgage immediately. Well, I just received word that they reported this to the credit agencies, even though I paid within 17 days of their "Delinquent" date. According to my credit report, it looks like I never paid that month's bill, which is so untrue. They also send somewhat harassing emails. On the 2nd of the month, I received an email about "multiple ways to pay my bill" even though I still had days to pay it. They have become almost impossible to deal with.

I was in foreclosure with Bank of America with my present home. Because I was laid off, bank of america notified me out of the blue that my mortgage was sold to nationstar and that if I would make 3 trial payments I would qualify with them so I did. Once the 3rd payment was made the paper work arrived, saying my loan was now a 40 year loan, at a lower payment 986 a month. I signed it. I had no choice. I tried to make my 1st payment on time. They said my paperwork from bank of america hadn't reached them. They refuse my payment. This went on for almost 4 months. Anyone I talked to there said if I send the payment it would get lost or it wouldn't get processed to my loan, because the paperwork wasn't complete. 4 months into the loan I am now in arrears for almost 4000 dollars. Of course they wouldn't take a normal payment. They kept returning it, full arrears payment accepted only.
It gets worse. We had a backed up chimney. Soot went everywhere. I filed a claim with my insurance company. They sent a cleaner out. They cleaned everything and payed out in full 900 dollars. The ceilings still needed to be painted. They sent me a check for 5700 dollars for paint. It had my name and Nationstar's name on it so I had to send it to them. They still have the money in their account since august 2014. When I call I'm usually given the same story I need to send more paperwork. I sent them the paperwork 3 times and faxes.
Last week I got notice in the mail they got my paperwork. I called them, talked to my claims specialist Marrisa **. Went thru the whole thing verbally - she was nice. She said she had to check my file. She said I would be on hold while she checked it. 2 & 1/2 hours later nothing. My wife couldn't believe it. I hung up, called back explained what happened, gave them the girls name, explained to them nicely what had been done to me. She told me my account would be in review for 3 to 5 business days and they would be in contact with me. This insurance claim was opened around April 2014. They are trying to put me in foreclosure. In 2002, her 54 year old husband passed away leaving her a widow. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era. He was there when his government needed him. He also worked his entire life. She is unable to work now and draws $1,600 in Social Security. That's it, that is all her income will ever be. This is the only home she has ever owned.
4 Months ago her mortgage company, Spring Leaf, sold her mortgage to Nation Star. This company has harassed her, persecuted her, and bullied a disabled elderly lady every day for months. They have inflated her $453 mortgage payment which she has paid for years into $1,100 monthly. While knowing she can not pay this, they have tacked on late fees each month making her payment a ridiculous amount for a $35,000 home. They have threatened to leave her homeless if she did not pay the entire $1,100 payment. Now, someone please tell me how this is legal. Where is the government when they are doing this? What can we do to stop this company from shoving people out of their homes?

As many first time buyers I was pushed into a balloon mortgage over ten years ago and then after one year my loan was sold to Nationstar. I made sure to pay my payments a week before the 1st of the month so to make sure when I go to refinance I would have an on time payment record. My monthly loan payment for $120,000.00 went from $950/month to $2,200. I went to refinance. Found out Nationstar posted my 1st payment with them towards the principal because it was before the due date so from that point on they had me as late every month and never said a word and posted it as so on my credit report as late. I could not get out of my $2,200 payment and was told late fees racked up each month on top of it. No company would even talk to me about refinancing due to this and were amazed I was paying a monthly payment for a loan of that size.
The gov. Remodification act came about and knowing how Nationstar is unwilling to help make this remodification happen, I recruited a company at a fee to help me. I was told I had to be three months behind to be considered. So reluctantly with no other options I had to not pay my mortgage for three months. It took six months for Nationstar to agree with this third party company to remodify my loan and they advised me to accept when they send me the offer. Nationstar sent me a FedEx package with a 3-day time period to reply or forget it option. It was for 2% for 5yrs option which brought my payment to $1,100 a month. Who in this fire situation wouldn't accept so I did.
Now I am again trying to refinance and come to find out they charged me $10,000.00 for the remodification and added to my principal balance. They put all my back unpaid payments on hold as showing still owed and as late and behind which again now makes it impossible to get away from them. No one will even talk to me and my payments are about to jump back above 2,000 month. I am the only income in my household with three small children and no family to fall back on. My home is worth more than I owe so I am going to lose my home which we love and don't want to leave because of their underhanded practices towards people like myself who have no experience in these types of things.

As with most mortgages, over their lifetimes, they are passed from one financial institution to another. Our loan went from my credit union to Countrywide to Bank of America to NationStar. So I am no stranger to the "hand off." This one went very smoothly because both parties (BOA and NS) worked together to be sure the transition was smooth. In addition to that, I was able to refinance my mortgage at a much lower rate with no hassle.
When I first learned my mortgage was being sold to NationStar, I Googled and count a lot of folks complaining about dropped and missed payments and worse. But a huge percentage of these people were already "behind the 8-ball" on their payments to begin with. But to be on the safe side, I set my automatic bank drafts (from my bank's web site, not from the NationStar website) to be deducted a full three weeks in advance so that if a situation did arise where NS somehow "misplaced" my payment, there would be plenty of time to sort it out.
So far, I am proud to say that I have a lily-white payment history and in fact am about 2 weeks early on all my mortgage payments. I plan to start putting some extra money toward principal each month. But I have nothing but good and positive things to say about NationStar mainly because I pay my bills each month.

FOR 3 MONTHS THEY NEVER SHOWED THE EXTRA PAYMENT! AND still claimed I was late paying!!! Payment was from my regular bank, the other payment was from my Fidelity account. ALL 8 checks WERE cashed!! They do not post your payments on time even when those payments are received by them 5 days in advance. Then once your due date passes even though they have already CASHED your check, you WILL get a notice stating you did NOT make your payment! They will have added LATE FEES now and interest too.
Since I KNOW when they cash my checks, I never worry about the so called late payment. Shoot - they cashed my last payment for November 1 in October! BUT now today again I've received a letter that I haven't made a payment. By allowing this to accumulate as I have now since calling them gets nowhere, NOW their mess is in hands of those who "help us keep our homes".
Spoke to a fellow from that department last Wednesday. Couldn't help it I laughed at the bank's late notices and once he heard story AND looked at my account, he saw just how many times we've been down this road. Also as I said to him, "IF I was truly late and truly behind, why in heaven's name did they send me a check? No explanation on check or with it, just a check for $140.00." Now he laughed! So once again will have a conference call with bank and person helping me and myself on December 3rd.
BTW I am NOT the only person I know dealing with this bank and having this problem. A friend in FL is having same issues. Once this conference call settles this problem, I know I'll be back here telling you all again DO NOT USE NATIONSTAR BANK! See been down this road before, this will be THIRD time and they haven't been my bank for even 3 years! Mine merged with them. Never had a problem in past. Not being successful I've been called Nationstar. I explain to the lady that I wanted to make the payment and I was not able to do so online. She had no idea why I could not make the payment. Out of total frustration I hung up on her because I was getting nowhere. It seems that Nationstar does not accept Mastercard, in the form of a credit card or a debit card. So in order to make my payment I had to get the routing number, my account number and then call them back with that information so I could make the payment.
Now here's the kicker. Because they do not accept Mastercard as a form of payment they will then charge you $19 to make that payment for you using your routing number and your checking account number. The only other choice you have is to get certified funds being a cashier's check, regular check from your account or a money order to make your payment. Many people today only have debit card or credit cards. Nobody hardly ever has a real check. One of the customer services agents told me that they were in the process of getting MasterCard but right now their processor only accept Visa. I think I will contact MasterCard and let them know they have a customer out there waiting for them.

Our original loan was sold (without our permission) to NationStar Mortgage, and from the very first month, we have had problems with them regarding the monthly mortgage payment process. With every other monthly recurring payment we have, such as car note, RV note, etc., we have a 'payment coupon book' so that we can send in our payment WITH a coupon two weeks ahead of the due date. With NationStar, we get a payment notice in the mail two days prior to the due date, which does not allow us adequate time to send in the payment before the due date.
We have called them every month for the past year to request that they send out the payment notice ten days ahead, and they tell us that they 'cannot.' It is more that they WILL NOT, so that they can tell us the payment is late and therefore charge the late fees.
The customer service representatives are 'robotic' in nature, and they request a Debit Card to process the payment immediately to avoid late fees. I offered a Credit Card and she said their system doesn't process 'credit.' Ridiculous.
With all the reports of identity theft and company employees stealing debit info in our world, I don't want someone to have access to my checking account. The representative just laughed and basically said I was paranoid. She refused to change the time in which they send out the payment notice, so I was forced to write a check and send in without a payment coupon. I just hope that they apply my payment to my account number, as I noted in the memo section of the check.
Why can't a company this large simply send out the notice in a timely manner, or in a 'book' so you have a year's worth in? Why can't they provide the 'customer service' that is expected and deserved?

Have been trying to send an email, but your site keep kicking me off. Now I will copy the text after every sentence so I can paste it and start over where left off. I understand that you must send someone to inspect a property when payments are late. But on the other hand, maybe you should not contact the tenant at investment properties. Recently, you sent a representative to inspect **. While at the residence, your representative spoke with the tenant, advising her of your intent to foreclose, that she should probably just make plans to move now. Subsequently, she immediately stopped paying rent, and after squatting for three more months, moved out. Leaving a huge mess and destroying the property.
I wonder if you sent someone to inspect, maybe they have see the mess? I have had a major accident, and was out of work for six months. Now better and working to get caught up. I did not need your help by getting the tenant to move and not pay, unless that was your intent. After researching complaints about your company, I believe that was entirely your intent. After not having received rents for five months, does not help pay the mortgages. Don't you think you could contact me and ask if I am ok? You have my contact information. Maybe one day, your company will not be so big it cannot be held accountable. Good luck with all the rest of the thefts of property you intend to steal from hard working people.

Then over the next 3 weeks, proceeded to tell me that they never got payment. I send them a copy of the check they cashed and on that check was the Nationstar new account # that someone internally wrote on the check along with my prior mortgage company loan # - seems all fine to me... However, Nationstar still said, "we have no record of your payment." They open a case file to research why they don't show it paid, yet I have a cashed check showing otherwise.
A week later I receive a letter in the mail telling me – “We see that your payment was sent, however we didn't know what account to assign it to (even though someone wrote the account # on the check).” So... they said they found an old account # that I had with them (I've never had a loan with Nationstar), and refunded me my mortgage payment. WELL, that check went to a completely different person, and that person cashed the check. Now I'm being told that they need to get that money back from the other person before they can turn around and apply it to my account. I said that they are putting on fees and penalties, contacting me with not making my payment and asking for another payment! I said “I'm not making another payment since you originally cashed my check for the October payment that should have been dealt with back in October.”
Fast forward 4.5 weeks from the initial issue - This has since been resolved but I didn't feel I should have had to call back 5 times with 5 different people and two managers in order for it to be fixed. Internal systems needs to be better organized - this is not the first loan you've purchased, I'm sure Nationstar - be accountable.

Bank of America sold my 1st & 2nd mortgage to Nationstar. I HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH NATIONSTAR, IT IS RIDICULOUS. I have been double charged for escrow on a 1st & 2nd mortgage, making a $185.00 payment go to $650.00, taking them 3 months to correct & losing an online payment in the works and making my mortgage seem as if it is late, then telling me they report to the credit bureaus. I am being charged for $200,000.00 worth of forced placed Flood Insurance, when my 1st & 2nd mortgage debt combined is $125,000.00. My house has never even been appraised as high as $200,000.00 and Nationstar will not send me an Insurance Policy.
In April 2014, this company added $131.00 to my mortgage payment saying they did a cost analysis finding they needed more money in my escrow account. When I went over the figures with the accounting department, my yearly taxes had only risen $8.00 per year. They are charging me an extra $1564.00 to keep for themselves per year. I have been charged late fees, when not late. Nationstar had lost an online payment, did not correct for 3 months & charged late fees which were not credited to my account to date.
Nationstar took 2 partial payments equaling my monthly mortgage payment and did not apply to my mortgage. They say my payments were placed in suspense. At end of that month, they said they sent me a check (which I never received) that was $249.00 short of my online payments. Someone named Mawish in the Collection Department, hung up the phone when I asked for a breakdown of why they sent my mortgage payment back to me and why it was shorted $249.00. To add to that madness, Nationstar states on my account, that my payment for that particular month is now due. When I called back just after being hung up on, the guy in Make a Payment department answered the phone but when he transferred me to Customer Service, that department was closed (and closed 1 1/2 hrs before their stated closing hours). Mawish did inform me, before the disconnect, that Nationstar doesn't know what to do with partial payments. So I will make a guess, that this mortgage company doesn't know how to apply a payment to Principal, only knows how to line the Nationstar owners' pockets.
The problems this company has created for me are still left unresolved. THIS COMPANY IS STEALING FUNDS & IS WORKING TOWARD TRYING TO TAKE MY HOME FROM ME WHEN I AM PAYING MY PAYMENTS. I am asking everyone with problems to fight back with more than venting - let's start a lawsuit. I was sent paperwork that Bank of America lost their mortgages because of a class action suit due to unfair practices with forced placed insurance. Let us find those lawyers (they sent letters to Bank America customers) who won that case and send our paperwork to them. Maybe they can help. I think Consumer Affairs should look into this company in depth. We are people who need help - our loans and contracts should not have been sold to a collection agency masking themselves as a mortgage company. Nationstar policy is criminal. If anyone is interested - please email **.

After I calculate this I would have to send a lump sum check for around 15k. When I try to tell them this, they tell me that the house needs to be appraised first, which will cost me $450. Why do I need to get my home appraised if the LTV is based off the original loan amount? I have paid over 25k for past 7 years for PMI insurance! They tell me if I send the lump sum check and it goes towards the principal to bring the LTV down to 80% that they can't guarantee that my PMI will be removed! We have paper work that has all of our names on the mortgage. Even when you go on the county's website to check the mortgage out, it shows our names in black & white are on the mortgage. All we want is loan mod to stay in our home one that is affordable for us. I don't think we should be going through all this aggravation with these banks. How did Nationstar earn one star? In our case our mortgage was sold to Nationstar and immediately the problems started. The BILL sent to us was for one amount and the "adjustment to mortgage rate on another mailing noted there was to be a change in our monthly payment but that change in rate was not on the current billing statement" or on the next. So we pay the amount on the billing statement only to find we have been threatened with foreclosure because we have not paid the "adjusted" rate even though we have paid what was on the billing statement. These are the accounting practices of loan sharks. So I request that the one star be removed as these people are going to require me to get an attorney to monitor my mortgage as long as Nationstar has it.

My loan was switched over from Bank of America. There's nothing more frustrating than dealing with this bank. Every year they did a new escrow analysis of the property. They included homeowners insurance and flood insurance. I explained that the property was simply a parcel of land with no house. Weeks and months of getting the same letter from them which said they were going to charge my account if I didn't show insurance was bought. I dealt with the escrow dept., customer service dept. and got nowhere. It was escalated several times. They ended up adding it to my escrow and charging me. It took about 3 months to get it straightened out.
The following 2 years I went through the same thing! I learned the hard way that nothing I ever discuss with the customer service dept. ever gets to the dept. it needs to go. I spoke to them about the property being subdivided and lo and behold I find out the taxes are delinquent. I'm talking about a year and a half after it was subdivided. That means they got at least 2 new tax bills with the new lot numbers and never paid any attention to the 2 parcels or the lot number changes. It took about 3 months to finally get all the taxes paid up because like I said earlier, nothing gets from their departments. They bring up the issue to the dept. which you simply can't get in contact with. You can't speak to the real people which handle it. Anyway, after finally paying them up, they re-did an escrow analysis and charged me for everything. Interest, tax certificate, etc. They have this remote location which sent me an email that they were never notified. If only they would look at their notes as well as look at the tax bills for 2 years, none of this would have occurred. They are really impossible to deal with.

I was a customer of Bank of America before my mortgage was sold to Nationstar. I had always paid my mortgage sometime around the 15th as we get paid twice a month and that was what worked. I had never managed to pay one payment ahead. I also never got a call from Bank of America, not once. I know the payment is late, however, I have never paid a late fee and still haven't with Nationstar. The difference is that Nationstar starts their harassing phone calls starting on the 6th of the month and call several times a day, every day, until the payment is received.
This month, I scheduled the mortgage to pay on the 12th because that's when my husband was paid. Even though there was a payment scheduled that had been scheduled for a month, I started getting the phone calls, including 4 TODAY when the payment is supposed to be made according to their own system!! Not only are they annoying, but if you happen to answer the call, they make YOU verify all of this information instead of just being able to cut to the chase and tell them when they'll get the payment. I HATE NationStar and I will refinance my mortgage as soon as is humanly possible with someone else as I CANNOT stand this company!

I had many times made multiple payments in one month and next month I would get a call saying I was delinquent for two months. My calls would get to nowhere. Finally I asked that they would send me statement of my payments and account history. This was early 2008. However, I did go to my bank and took detail on my payment as well. After review I found that I had paid two payments that were paid over the phone to their account rep was not posted as payment. Since that time I would hang up on their call.
Nationstar kept calling at least one time a day. Some time later that year they knock downed my locks and took over my home. They did not however left any trace that they did that. Six years later I have found that April of 2008 while based on their records I was only one month late and based on my records I was two months ahead. They called everyone I knew. They called my neighbors, they called my ex-family that I had not spoken with over 13 years. They are lawless. They are out of control. We are still fighting their lies and working to get our house back. You can see before and after of what they have done to my home. There was no foreclosure, no posting on the door, no letters, no emails, no due process. It took us two years to find out they did it.

First of all, I initially was financed through Bank of America. Why my loan was sold off to NationStar is a mystery to me. I will first tell you that your employees do not know what they are doing, especially when it comes to escrow. I would STRONGLY urge you to read through the notes of how many times I have called customer service at NationStar before responding to this email.
In the previous years of 2010-2011, I believe, I had an issue with my Home Owners Insurance being paid out of my escrow on a timely basis. I had to call each year as I had received correspondence from Maple Valley Insurance stating that my payment was late. I had called you each year. During one of these conversations, I was told by a representative of yours that ultimately, it is MY responsibility to make sure that my bill is paid. Ummmm? Really? Yeah, that is why I have this escrowed so I do not have to worry about it. No matter, but I had to BEG your company to pay my insurance during these years, which also incurred late fees.
This last year, 2014, I received notice that NationStar had only paid the first installment of my property taxes in the amount of $509.04. Looking at the statement provided by Marinette County, it is not that difficult to figure out. It is ALL ONE STATEMENT. The first portion states "PAY 1ST INSTALLMENT- $509.04" and right below that it says "PAY FULL PAYMENT- $ 1069.24. " Now mind you, the previous years where you completely messed up my insurance payment, you did pay my property taxes in full.
When I received notice that only the first installment was paid in the amount of $509.04, I called you (AGAIN). I asked why this was done and also asked if the second installment of $560.20 would be paid by July 31, 2014. I was assured by your customer service staff that YES IT WOULD. Shortly there after, I received a check from NationStar. It was an "overage" in my escrow. I called you (AGAIN) and asked if this was correct, because if not, I would send the check back and not cash it. I again asked if my insurance and property taxes would still be covered after receiving this refund. AGAIN, I was assured by your customer service department that YES, THEY BOTH WOULD BE PAID AND THERE WOULD BE ENOUGH MONEY.
I do have to say that you did pay my home owner's insurance this year without a problem! YAY. At this point, I thought that everything was straight. Then in September, 2014 (the notice that I received is post marked 09/15/2014), I received a notice from the Marinette County Treasury Department stating that my property taxes were past due (the 2nd installment of $560.20). I called at least 3 customer service representatives regarding this issue. The Treasury of Marinette did not receive the payment until late September/early October. To say that I was embarrassed to have to call Marinette County is an understatement.
I then received a notice from you, Nationstar, dated 10/02/2014, stating that my payment was going up from approximately $584.00 a month to $699.86 a month. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME. After several phone calls, I was told that it is because my escrow was miscalculated as you were only looking at the "PAY 1ST INSTALLMENT" of $506.04 on the tax bill. I offered time and time again to scan and email my tax bill and I was told no.
I would also like for you to look at the payment history. I know that our payments were rocky for a couple of months, but I was on medical leave from my job, which I was not paid for since 01/13/14. I finally sent in my resignation on 03/31/14 and collected my 401-K benefits and pre-paid our mortgage for 5 months. If this was an issue, why was I not informed then that our escrow as miscalculated on your part? I have talked to MANY people regarding the increase of payment per month of nearly $116.00 due to YOUR errors.
My last conversation was with Ted **, today. He told me that even though this was YOUR error, I am still responsible. He at first offered me (like a customer service rep prior) to spread the difference over a 24 month period of time, which would make our payment $665.79 a month. I then said that this is unacceptable and that you, as NationStar, need to take some responsibility as this is YOUR ERROR, AGAIN, and now he is putting in a request that it be spread over a 36 month period, which would make the monthly payment $654.44.
I, again, want for you to explain to me WHY we are responsible for your errorS! It has been nothing but folly after folly. I have been VERY pro-active in this whole process. I have called questioning EVERYTHING. Now, it comes down to it that, "yeah, we messed up, but you have to still pay for our errors." I think NOT. I could see if I sat here and did nothing. This is why I urged you to read the entirety of the notes going back to when this mortgage was first in place with you.
My point being is that YOU, NationStar, are responsible for your errors. I have been nothing but compliant and pro-active when it came to all of these events. To tell you the truth, I do not plan on paying the up fees. Maybe if your staff was educated in the first place, this would have never happened. Now, my family is going to suffer, even though we have been most compliant through this whole process, because people at NationStar do not know how to do their job.
I was just deemed disabled on 09/29/2014 by the Government. I have tried to work around this with the option of refinancing. I was told by your refinance department that I do not qualify. To be honest with you, I am going to tell you that you will eat this cost. It was YOUR ERROR(S) and NOT MINE. The least you could do is rectify this situation.

Nationstar purchased my mortgage from Bank of America in March 2014. I was not made aware of the change until I received a letter from them in April 2014 along with the first statement I received from them, which did not reflect my escrow taxes. I called in to obtain the correct amount to pay and was told to wait for the next billing cycle which would show the correct figures. I paid the amount indicated in good faith, timely and not only did they report on my credit bureaus that this payment was late, they did not provide me with the 90 days period required by state law to switch my auto pay and additional payment from my bank to process payments.
After unsuccessful communication trying to get them to correct the derogatory, unfair and incorrect reportings which are damaging my credit sore, I switched to a third party payment program and make 2 payments each month to reduce my mortgage by about 6 years. I pay extra every two weeks automatically debited from my account. The payments have gone through timely and accurately. However, Nationstar still reports lates on my credit reports each month. I'm in the middle of trying to obtain another property and relocate. I have an opportunity to rent my current property. I will either not be approved for a loan even though I have 500k in equity on this property and rental income properties. Zoned for a bad school system and moving to get my children into a better school - and I can't.
Communication is awful! I think Nationstar is going to collapse soon. Or probably re-open under a different name. I hope so, it's the only recourse I will have in getting my credit back to were I have worked hard for and deserve. Filing a civil warrant through their Secretary of State to receive a judgment that demand the immediate removal of false credit reporting. My loan was recently transferred to Nationstar. The very first statement that was sent indicated we were $5700 past due. I immediately called and realized I may have better luck getting in touch with the President! I left numerous messages with the dedicated "loan specialist" who by the way was not the same person who auto-signed the letter. I eventually set up my account online and attempted to make my very first payment and the payment was refused because it was not for the fully $5700. I then decided I would set up automatic drafts thinking it would allow me to at least make one payment (which I owe) and much to my surprise the regular payment was accepted.
Keep in mind, all this time I am not blaming Nationstar, I'm just assuming in the transfer some records were inaccurate and because I have proof of every payment I've made with the prior lender I just assumed this would be a phone call where I would explain the error, provide proof and move on. Boy was I wrong. I finally spoke with a "loan specialist" who was extremely unprofessional. She kept cutting me off telling me that she has reviewed my file and that the prior lender said we were behind and if I don't pay $2800 to catch up my payment they were going to start foreclosure.....yes, I said $2800 - the letter I received said $5700 and when I asked which was correct she said, "Oh, you know you got a letter from us telling you it was a system error and that you actually owe $2800!"
I proceed to tell her that it was a mistake and that we were not behind and that I would provide her with photocopies of the cashed checks as proof. She proceeded to talk over me and at one point made a comment that I was stupid. I was almost in tears by the time I got off the phone with this rep because she kept telling me that if I didn't make a payment to catch up my mortgage that a demand letter is on its way. Not quite sure what a demand letter is, but knew it wasn't good. Again, here I am at this point begging this woman for a manager's contact name and fax number, she continued to tell me that she is reading the files and if I would read my statements I knew I was behind. I couldn't for the life of me understand why she would not provide me with a fax number to provide my documentation - all she wanted me to do was to give her a $2800 payment.
After 45 min with this lady, with 20 of them on hold because she was "researching" (I think she was secretly hoping I would hang up) I finally got a fax number. I plan on faxing all my documentation as soon as I make it to the bank. After reading all the comments I'm not optimistic that this will end well.

However, I finally got a copy of that. Then I discovered that I needed a 1099 C because the transaction was a short sale. So, I began a series of calls, e-mails, calls, e-mails, until finally I was told that that form needed to be created, since none had been. It would be mailed (only available way) 7-10 business days.
Again and again I mentioned the January 31, 2014 deadline for these papers. That concept went right over the heads of everyone with whom I talked, and believe me, there were many. Then while waiting for 7-10 business days, I got an e-mail indicating that there would be no 1099 C since the debt HAD NOT been cancelled. You can imagine my dismay. I started calling around, locating an attorney, etc., to deal with this potential sizable debt. Then, three days later, another e-mail appeared, indicating that I should ignore the earlier correspondence and attaching my 1099 C.

Our payments are due on the 1st but we have until the 16th before we get a late charge. So after the 1st we get letters saying we are behind on our mortgage and they are going to start foreclosure proceedings. I called them and asked why they would do this when they get the payments before they are late. I was told that I had to call them on the first of every month and let them know. Why they can't just put that into the computer is beyond me. I HATE THIS COMPANY.

I refinanced in October 2013 because all four of my girls were now in college and I needed to reduce my expenses. The refinance saved me nearly $500 per month. This was great until one year later when they stated that now my mortgage would be $260 more per month. I called customer service which took a long time just to be offered the option of speaking with someone. They stated that the payment went up because my PMI was higher than calculated. This was just one year ago and they did not calculate the correct amount? I think that they gave me a lower payment to entice me to refinance and then one year later showed a shortfall which I had to now pay monthly or a one time payment of nearly $3000. I think I was bamboozled.

I have tried numerous times by phone request photocopies of paid homeowners tax bill receipts so that I could apply for property tax rebate that I am eligible for every year. Every time I place the call I am told that they don't have a copy of any paid tax bills which is outrageous considering my taxes (and homeowners insurance) are escrowed and they pay my taxes to the township/school district. Now why wouldn't they have a copy of the bill that the township sends to them requesting payment? I have even confirmed with the township that bills were sent to their tax department but yet I can't even get a copy of the tax bill with a statement that the taxes have been paid.
In 2010 I filed paperwork for a loan modification. Nationstar illegally claimed I didn't submit all the proper paperwork for the federal modification but was told not to worry, that they could provide me with their in-house loan modification. I knew they were lying as I always make copies of all paperwork that I submit by mail. Nationstar claimed they could give me a better rate so not to worry. I of course was approved but didn't trust them so I still mailed in a regular monthly payment after the loan modification paperwork was signed & overnighted. Needless to say the modification loan number totals were different from the signed documents and when they received my monthly mortgage payment by mail and a new document needed to be made and resigned (at least in my eyes and thoughts), Nationstar NEVER supplies me with a new and updated loan modification document reflecting the new total showing the payment they received and CASHED!!! I was told not to worry as they had it reflected in their records and no matter how many times I requested nicely and then demanded I never did get an updated copy of the new loan modification document.
I paid my loan for exactly 12 months and then BAM!!! My monthly mortgage payment jumped up to almost triple of what it was to be. I called Nationstar approximately 12-15 times and spoke with a different customer service representative each time trying to find out why my mortgage payment jumped up so high. I got a loan modification for a reason and it was to lower the payment and the payment was to remain the same for 5 years before it began to change. Each CSR attempted to come up with feeble reasons for the increase but I was able to tell them their attempts were wrong (ex: homeowners insurance went up - I told them I was the insurance agent and actually the insurance went down; property/school taxes went up - told them our taxes actually went down 1 MIL & I could provide proof if needed, some even said they didn't even know why & etc...).
At this same time of me calling Nationstar trying to get an answer of why the huge jump in mortgage payment and how long did they think these triple payments were going to last and NOT getting a logical and accurate answer, my best friend/mother passed away. Not only did I have to deal with her funeral details and trying to get her personal belongings out of the personal care home, I sunk into the deepest and darkest depression I have ever been in. I deal with depression everyday but at this point I was fed up with Nationstar. My best friend's daughter had her house financed with Nationstar also and Nationstar started foreclosure proceedings on her home after only missing 2 month mortgage payments. She absolutely hated her home so she took the measly little amount of money ($5,000.00) they offered her as assistance to get back on her feet while moving onto another place. I was never offered that plus I wanted my home. I had to hire an attorney as the woman who was finally assigned to me was the rudest individual I have ever had to deal with. She told me I deserved this due to the fact I didn't pay my mortgage payment.
When I tried to explain to her of what had happened she kept cutting me off and told me that this is what happens when you don't pay your bills. Finally she snapped and yelled at me and told me that she would no longer speak to me or deal with me. I would have to hire an attorney and they would be the only one who could call in and speak with a Nationstar representative. Just what I needed as I'm single and I'm on permanent Social Security Disability. With the money I would pay an attorney it could go towards my mortgage. I was in a no - win situation. I did reach one nice CSR about 4 weeks before the scheduled sheriff sale. She did tell to fill out paperwork for a new loan modification so we could get it approved before the sheriff sale. One of the requirements was for me to get an updated disability paperwork from the Social Security office. I flew to SS office and faxed it over plus all the other required documents. It was 1 week before the sheriff sale and I get a call from her and she tells me they didn't have enough time to process the paperwork. 3 weeks isn't enough???
After looking into the law I found out that they couldn't proceed with the sheriff sale after accepting paperwork for a new loan modification but I did find out after when my attorney had the sheriff sale delayed and I called and asked for the woman by name (who disappeared....or else they wouldn't let me speak to her as she did say that if the sheriff sale did get delayed she would proceed working on the loan modification). I was given a new CSR (the nasty one who told me I wasn't allowed to speak with any Nationstar employee) and found out that there was never any new loan modification application submitted by me at all (now of course I made photocopies of all the paperwork I submitted plus the fax paperwork showing the fax number I faxed it to and it's confirmation of it going through and number of pages). Once again showing Nationstar lied!!!
I hope I haven't lost anyone or thoroughly confused you....but I did save my house but it cost me $13,000 in attorney fees plus it added about another $10,000 more onto my mortgage. I just wish there was an attorney out there somewhere that would be willing to help all of us start a class action lawsuit. I do plan on trying to do some research on how to find the right type of attorney and then approaching him/her. Would anyone be willing to join in on the class action lawsuit? Have you incurred some legal fees? Would love to hear from anyone about your experiences.

I received a modification last year, after 5 years with Boa my payment never varied. During the process & approval of the Home Safe Program with NACA the terms of the loan were to remain the same. Since then my payment has changed 3 times. Recently increased $200 per month. It is just to be too much stress dealing with Nation star.

I tried to pay off my loan with Nationstar. They sent me a payoff statement with a balance due on 9/30/14. I wired the amount listed which included my escrow balance being credited (which is what they showed - that was not my idea). They credited to my account the wire but not the escrow balance as their payoff showed, so of course my loan wasn't paid off now. I called and pointed out their error. They blamed it on me and said they never issued a payoff. I escalated to a supervisor and sent all the information by fax (btw no one knows a fax number, they put you on hold for about 10 min to get one and they have no email either). No response no follow through.
I called again to another supervisor after a few days - again was told they would follow up and fix. No call no fix. After about 10 days of this they now told me I was late (even though they had the amount of 3 payments) and charged a late fee oh and of course interest. I called again and escalated and they assured me they could fix it. Well they now fedex-ed my original wire back to me and wiped out my escrow account and sent a new payoff letter with late fees and interest and threatened more late fees to come if I don't pay this new higher amount.
This is the worst bank in the world with the most awful customer service. Good luck ever getting anyone to fix anything and I am now worried I will never get back the fees if I send the new payoff because they will then say "you have no account with us". Is there anyone who can help me resolve what should be a simple error on Nationstar's part that they can't fix and won't ever care enough to do anything about? Help!!!!

First off, does any know what program Nationstar falls under? Well it's not Fannie Mae, or Freddie Mac. It's a company with no name but letters ABS. When ask what these letters mean, was not told - went to another conversation. I'm one month behind and from what I reading from others is: Is it safe to continue making payments even though you are a month behind. Why I ask this question is because one person did just what is happening to me. I'm a month behind, will try and make a payment in November. So is my payment a catch up payment for the month of October which in all reality is for November, and my October payment which is late continues to accumulate late fees. I'm just baffle here, every message I've read here is all true. Call to let them know in advance I'm struggling. Need help, cannot afford to continue to pay a mortgage of $1800.00 JS Well, no paperwork so that I can apply for HARP program. No one knows anything, all they want to know is when will I be able to make September payment?

BANK OF AMERICA sold my mortgage to NationStar and they modified my mortgage which Bank of America would not do, ughhhh. NationStar greatly reduced my monthly payments and interest and I was able to comfortably afford my payments until my employment office cut back on staffing and a couple months after losing my job and running out of savings I was not able to make mortgage payments or pay a majority of my monthly bills. I am now fully employed and have been for a while now but I am not able to pay the mortgage payments that are in the rear plus regular payments. So I have now been placed in short sale to avoid a foreclosure. I have no complaints with NationStar, they were a great help to me when I needed it the most. What will I do, where will I live, or where do I go from here? I have no idea, but this I do know that I must keep my faith that all things will work out in my favor.

My husband and I tried over and over to get a loan modification with them and every time we send in what they wanted, they told us they could not read it and they never answer their phones. Unfortunately we hired a lawyer to help and got scammed. Now we're fighting to save our home.

I am in bankruptcy and behind in my payment two months when I receive a letter from Nationstar offering me the chance at a loan modification. I faxed all required documents and when I called to check on the status, the bank representatives voice mail says he doesn't work in that department anymore and to push zero for the next representative. When I pressed zero, I was transferred to a recording from Sprint Mobile. These people have had me fax all this information and now they are giving me the run around. Bank of America did the exact same thing before they transferred my mortgage to Nationstar which I think is owned by Bank of America. This time I am writing my state Senator.

I was awarded permanent disability. Nationstar asked me to contact when I received my Award Letter. I did and was told, "Sorry you've already had support so nothing more we can do". They have actually offered me A Deed In Lieu! They offered me the foreclosure process too!! I am in the process of refinancing as I haven't tried that yet.

My loan was transferred to Nationstar. After a few weeks after the transfer I called to ask how to make a payment and setup automatic payment. A message said to wait until I received the welcome letter. I later called them and asked about the welcome letter and they said that it was sent. I was given the new loan number so I could log in which I did to setup auto pay. I received the letter on 10/21/2014, the payment due date was 10/17/2014. The website tried to charge me 9.95 since it was a late payment so I mailed in the payment. The next day I received a phone call from Nationstar wanting to know where my payment was. I told the person that I was a new customer and they told me that the credit companies would not be notified about the late payment. I am waiting to see if they charge me a late fee. I don't believe it is right to do what they are doing and need to stop this practice.

These folks are thieves and liars, I hope they end up like Ameriquest Mortgage did. They are just as bad. Asking for 15yrs, Fixed - no escrow with 30% down payment. They screw you up with 30YR Fixed and tack on the Escrow convincing you you can take it off once you close as it's too bad to go and change the documentation now when they made a mistake to correct it and it will delayed funding. They delayed funding for two weeks as idiots don't know what they doing anyways. I think it is a crime to lie and scam people into 30yr mortgage with escrow if you have clearly stated what you wanted. Thieves, liars. In a process of getting loan with a different lender after 3 months just to prove them they are worthless, unbelievable. Green Light and Nationstar - same junk. They say you are stuck with the escrow account now (why because people don't know if they return the escrow funds they will get hefty fine from the government). I see the future of these two entities....GOING OUT OF BUSINESS and BARRED IN LAWSUITS I hope.
