Last year I refinanced my house but I was surprised to see that Nationstar was still collecting payment from the auto payment that I have set up and that resulted in collecting payment from the closed account and the newly refinanced account. I do not like the use of sourcing customer services to those outside of the US.

We've had our home loan with Nationstar for a few years and their service has been great. We use their paperless billing and we are able to manage our account online. We've also had the pleasure of working with Greenlight Loans last year to refinance our home and they made it fast and easy to get everything done.

We were sold to your mortgage company. At first there were no problems. Then you asked us to refinance and it took 8 months for you to get it right. Then your company in NOV... failed to send payment statements and we called, & called to answer the same questions over and over again, only to get nowhere. So we mailed in our payment and your STUPID whoever put the wrong account # on our check, even though the right last 4 #s were on the check. We still did not get credit & got dunned for not paying our payment.
ON and ON it goes for 3 months, now you almost get it corrected and send a statement which says we made a late payment but we did not pay late and you show extra charges waived. Made report to credit companies who cut our credit score. No one ever answers our e-mail, SO THAT IS A WASTE OF OUR TIME. When we call we get the same security questions over and over again. Repeat, repeat, repeat, put on hold and can never get a supervisor a second time. Promises and promises to get back, but don't! We, my husband and I wished we never had your mortgage company and would not recommend it to even my worst enemy.

Overall refinance was not bad with Nationstar. Took longer than I expected though to refinance a mortgage that they already had on their books but the people were friendly and easy to work with.

I had a 30 year mortgage that had a higher interest rate and 24 years to go. I contacted Nationstar and got a much lower interest rate, my premium only went up $50, and it is a 15 year loan. I'm very happy.

I haven't been with Nationstar long but no issues or complaints. My most recent experience was refinancing this past Summer. Everything went smoothly and so far I am very pleased with making the decision to refinance. My monthly payments are much more affordable and within my budget.

I have nothing but praise for Marisa ** and Kyle ** of Greenlight Loans, a division of Nationstar Mortgage. As the mortgage rates fell our mortgage was held by another very well-known bank. In an interest to take advantage of the much lower rates we started refinance action or I should say we started a nightmare journey of endless paper work submissions, extended periods of silence, and change of processes from Local to Texas, to Florida, to New York. Only to receive a call months later that "Hey sorry but your loan has been sold and refinance action has been cancelled." When I called Kyle I expressed my displeasure with my last effort and he assured me that Greenlight would not handle the application in such a manner, he was so right. Within 30 days it was completed. Its so refreshing to deal with folks that really care.

Having initiated a refi with a Nationstar representative in the fall of 2012, I wasn't receiving any communication from the representative after multiple attempts (at least 3 documented attempts). So I reached out to Nationstar's Consumer Affairs division who were able to help me out very quickly and efficiently and switched me to another representative. My refi was then completed in no time at all. The Consumer Affairs division of Nationstar was a great lifesaver, and even contacted me via a phone call after the fact to ensure the refi process was to my satisfaction (and it was).

Overall, Nationstar is not so bad or good. As always the process of getting to a real human when an issue arises is laborious and time consuming - making me feel that I am of little value to the company and my issue even less. I have felt that the constant barrage of snail mail offers to refinance is a waste of everyone's time and resources because when we called to inquire, no one could do much more than read some prepared remarks until we got passed to a second individual who had to get back to us with the info we needed to make an informed decision. Our big question concerned the eligibility of our investment property for the advertised loan.
Additionally, we have found the charges on the loan at various times to be suspect. Talking to anyone who could clarify said charges was most difficult including one representative who told us that the government allows the mortgage company to charge fees for "unidentified" purposes. But as I stated above, Nationstar is not the worst company. The positives range from at least having the phone answered and eventually getting to speak with a human. On occasion we have spoken with a friendly and knowledgeable individual who genuinely appeared to be trying to help us through an issue.

My experience with Nationstar was simply great. The only thing I was really upset with is the PENALTY if I pay my mortgage off early. Not once during this process was I warn or told of this. Might have to find another company to take my mortgage to now.

It was fairly simple to refinance to a lower interest rate except for the fact after the first lower payment, Nationstar realized they had not paid my county taxes and my payment went right back up. A total waste of time and money. I also pay my house payment between the 8th and the 10th. I don't appreciate the abundance of phone calls I receive. I know this is your business, but I try really hard not to be late, and am still made to feel awful!

Years ago, I had refinanced the mortgage with Capital One and I never even paid a single payment to them when they sold the mortgage to Nationstar. This particular time with the mortgage professional, it went fairly well. The person I dealt with most of the time was responsive and helpful and pretty much worked on time, the TAT. It was a surprise that this one went as it did. We really didn't talk a lot about refinancing options; I applied to this one and got it. For the most part, the overall experience with Nationstar was fine. It went very smoothly. There was only one little hiccup: there was some document issue, nothing that was a big problem. Overall it went well.

The refinance was an easy process. Everything was handled with phone contacts and email. Rate was an improvement. Cut off 8 years and only increased monthly payments by 20 bucks. One criticism-you can't pay monthly mortgage from 2 bank accounts if you do it through online bill pay. We see told monthly payment has to be in full from one account. Otherwise it looks like 2 partial payments and the system assess late fee.

I was treated very well. When I had questions, or was confused about terminology, I was given the attention required until I understood. This was very important to me. I had a great initial experience when refinancing my home through Greenlight this summer, but I eventually ended up working with someone who was a terrible communicator. When first approached by Greenlight to refinance my home, the representative I was working with was fantastic. He worked with me on a human level. No hard sell nonsense. We discussed options and went the direction that best suited my needs. After getting the ball rolling I was passed on to another loan officer, who simply didn't return calls or keep me up to date on the process of the loan. He didn't tell me anything that I had to have when the notary came to my house to sign all the loan documents. He didn't even communicate with the notary.
She called me on Monday - schedule the signing at 6:00pm that night. She then called me 15 minutes before and said she never got the documents from the officer I was currently working with. I didn't see her until three days later when the documents finally arrived. I was initially told I would not have to have any money out of pocket. Much to my surprise I owed $1,300 at the signing. No warning at all. I was supposed to have a cashier’s check for the money and no one told me. That is so unprofessional and annoying. When I called the officer, he didn't apologize or even manage to sound sorry in the least. He just said "remember you are getting to skip a payment this month." I would have punched him if I was in the same room.
I ended up dealing with his supervisor and actually got a little bit of a refund for the nonsense he put me through, but I have yet to get an apology from him. If I would have been able to stick with the first guy I dealt with it would have been perfect, and I would be giving them five stars right now. Unfortunately, I ended up working with Nick ** , you get a very generous three stars. Enjoy! PS- I'm not sorry...

We have our primary mortgage with GreenLight and have re-fi'ed with them before. Ryan and the folks at GreenLight have always been professional and courteous. They always explain our options and are quick to protect us against shady loan agencies. Ryan has locked in loan rates for the duration of the re-fi process and has kept us informed throughout. We find GreenLight to be a reputable and trustworthy company to do business with.

I had a great experience with this company. I was looking to refinance my house and was shopping around. I was ready to get a loan with Wells Fargo when I received a call from Nationstar/Greenlight who was my current lender and they offered to match/beat my current offer from Wells Fargo. From that point on everything moved very quickly and smoothly. We closed by the end of the month. The company made it very easy to refinance. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Nationstar/Greenlight was a huge breath of fresh air. We had received tons of offers in the mail and over the phone to refinance our mortgage to a lower interest rate. Greenlight was THE only one to follow through on each question we had and each promise they had given us at the beginning. For the most part our experience with our refinance was pretty good. My only complaint would be that our loan representative kept misspelling my wife's name and kept getting our information wrong. The representative also had trouble contacting her human resources representative to verify employment.

My mortgage was xfered from BoA to Nationstar in June 2013. When I was shopping around in June 2014 for a Re-finance, I sent a quote to Nationstar since they held my current mortgage, and they transferred me to Greenlight Loans who they were affiliated with. The rate was good and beat other big banks. The folks at Greenlight were extremely professional and answered all my questions as well as walked me through the re-fi process.
Given there was some negative reviews for Nationstar-Greenlight on Consumer reviews, I was constantly rechecking the paperwork and asking questions, looking for some hidden charges or issues. There was no catch at all. In fact the entire process was smooth beyond belief. Greenlight LLC truly went above and beyond on this refinancing experience. I was honestly blown away, and will definitely use them again.

My loan was purchased from Bank of America in 2013 and I was initially concerned, as I had not heard of Nationstar. Since then, I've been very pleased with their servicing and have even decided to stick with them/Greenlight through refinancing in mid-2014. That process was also way easier than I would have expected. In the couple of times I've had to call them for questions, they've been very responsive. Happy customer overall!

I've had Nationstar after my mortgage was sold to them approximately 6 years ago. The transition was smooth and the web portal has been great. Nationstar is on top of notifications by email, phone, and postal mail. I've had no issues with them and even did a refinance with them. Nationstar offered to refinance my mortgage, with no closing costs. Excellent service during my refinance, though they did switch my point of contact several times. All in all, it was a very easy process. It took very little of my time and saved me a lot of money.

Refinanced home loan at a lower rate and was told by account mgr that there would be no out of pocket expense or fees. When closing date came, they wanted to charge over $700 in fees. Talked to supervisor about the issue and he said he would investigate the issue and conversations that were recorded and follow up with a call back but never did.

I got very frustrated with the refinancing process as I had to go through it twice. The first time, the process was just dropped without any reason. And through the process, you could never get in contact with a person as I went in circles with their phone system. Then, when I finally close on the mortgage, there is a due date and a pay by date. They start hounding you after the first few days after the initial due date. I have no problem if I am late with my payment, but don't hound me when I'm not late with my payment. Not a good relationship!

I have found that Nationstar has been spot on informing me of anything that comes up and have not pestered me about anything either. I feel that this company is company that can be trusted for mortgages at least in residential homes. All in all I would recommend my friends to this company if/when they want to get a house of their own.

Last time I received a letter in the mail from NationStar mortgage regarding being qualified to refinance my house. Thinking this was just another offer that would end up not working for me, I picked up the phone to further inquire without much enthusiasm. I started with BofA as my mortgage company then they sold it to Nationstar. I wasn't happy about it at first but then after a few months they called me and told me I could refinance for a lower rate. It was super easy and quick. Now I'm paying less than I was and all because they called me. I don't think most lenders would do that and miss out on their interest, but they did so I'm calling it a win!

My wife and I were paying 5.5% interest on our mortgage. Like so many others, our house was underwater. All the equity gone! Even with us owing more than the house was worth, we were able to refinance to lower rate and save $120.00 a month on the mortgage payment. Our Nationstar loan rep was with us all the way. He gave us options on how to reduce our mortgage. He explained in detail how each option would work and what we could expect from each option. We made our selection and the refinance process was simply to say the least. My wife and I could not be happier. Thank you Nationstar for helping us retain our quality of life.

I have had to try 4 different times to have my husband listed as a person Nationstar can talk to about the loan. He is half owner of the property and on the note. We have had to send written communication 3 times so far and they still claim they cannot talk to him. Your follow-through is abysmal.

I want to thank GLL and Nationstar Mtg. for their assistance in refinancing my home thru the HARP program. Nationstar, my Mtg. Company, had GLL contact me as they felt I qualified and I initially said no, that I was not interested, as I was going through a personal problem and did not think I could deal with one more thing. They asked for a few minutes of my time to give me a number on how much I could save which caught my attention. It took over a year to complete my HARP refi, although I was 100% qualified. I was placed in so many "catch-22" situations in their attempt to block my loan, which at the lower interest rate was of no use to them, that it wasn't until NY State Senator Phil Boyle's office investigated with a state agency who demanded that they justify their actions, that it finally went through. My original mortgage had been sold to them originally by BOA, and with the exception of one honorable Nationstar employee who was honest with me about what was really going on, and the senator, it would NEVER have gotten done. I hope someday they sell my mortgage elsewhere so I can finally put the hellish year of misery they put me through behind me.

I have yet to get any positive customer service when I call. The phone tree is very difficult to navigate. It is challenging to talk to a person. Once you do get to the correct cue, the hold times are outrageous. 9 out of 10 times the agent is from a different country and it is difficult to have a conversation. If I had the opportunity to choose who carried my mortgage, I would not have chosen Nationstar.

Nationstar worked with me over 3 years to find a loan modification that worked. In the end I didn't save any money on my monthly payments but was able to secure a fixed rate, long term loan. My payments increased by $152 but I was able to find a way to make this work for the time being.

We have had nothing but good experiences with Nationstar. They offered to us to refinance without us even calling them and reduced our payments $250.00 a month. The people we dealt with were awesome. The refinance went through very quickly and we are still happy with the results.

Everything went well with the exception of the time it took to complete the refinance. One associate suggested that we should change the mortgage from conventional to FHA. So we followed his advice and ended up waiting for a number of weeks until finding out that we really needed to do a conventional loan.

Nationstar Mortgage bought our original loan from Bank of America and have been nothing but courteous and helpful. We recently refinanced our home loan at their insistence and guarantee of a lower rate, and they were right. The process was smooth although we would have liked a bit more communication during the process. Nonetheless... it was still a great outcome and in our favor. They are willing to answer any question you have. In our experience there were multiple experts on many different subjects that put us at ease.

Ok so I had you since I bought my house. Everything was fine till I tried to refinance! You didn't pay my insurance. They cancelled me then you missed my August excise tax on my house. Missed and still isn't paid.

At first it seemed it was a bit slow but after talking to the right person they got the ball rolling and within a few weeks they got us refinanced so over all it was a good experience and they saved us a lot of money and now I can say that I don't worry whether I can pay my mortgage.

I have had terrible experience as documentation provided to me for refinancing was not accurate, nor it was communicated to me when promised. It took multiple contacts, communications, follow-ups to rectify it. At times work product received from Nationstar Mortgage Team was unprofessional, inaccurate and I did receive apologies..but all of that was after the fact.

When it came time for us to refinance, I could not believe the ease and the extremely quick turn around that Nationstar afforded us. We went from applying to complete refinance within three weeks. This was SO much easier than dealing with our bank. After 5 weeks trying to refinance with the bank, we finally called Greenlight and got such good service, I would recommend them to anyone!

We have our mortgage with this company and have refinanced with this company. Yet daily, we are received solicitation calls to refinance. My experience with Greenlight was fantastic. The two people I worked with, Kyle and Phillip, were friendly, fast and patient. Back when I was with Bank of America, I lost my job and was having a really tough time so I was trying to either refinance or do something to help me, but they just gave me the run around. But when Nationstar took over, they offered me refinancing and when I did, they brought my mortgage payments down. I also found them very easy to work with and they made the process easy. They took the needed information, filled out the paperwork - I didn't have to fill it out with the same people five times - and they followed through with everything. I felt like it was a team effort and I was very happy with the good job they've done.

I can only explain in two words and please excuse my language, but it's the honest truth. The ** WORST service I have ever received. I was given the run around since day one, and the bad part is I'm in sales, and I would never give my business to the competition no matter the situation. In a statements I made saying I was going to not go thru Nationstar, I was told 'ok no worries'. That's when I should have pulled out. To Nationstar, I can't blame you as a whole, but I do blame the person that serviced me. If she worked for me as my sales representative, I would have fired her after that remark. I will never recommend you to anybody of the 300 employees I work with or the friends and family. I hope I never have to deal with you again.

It was not a good experience at all. We were told it would be an easy and quick refinance because it was within the company. Not so, it took months. We kept getting calls to please resend paper work that they supposedly lost or never received. In the end, one of the people finally told us it was never lost but that they were just too busy so it was just excuses to put us off for a while longer. Very disappointing.

I was a little apprehensive because we tried to refinance with Nationstar almost two years ago and I had the worst experience and still didn't close after going back and forth for more than a year. Shaun ** from Greenlight Loans called and was very professional and explained everything in detail and if I had questions, he responded quickly... I started the process in early November and we closed right before Christmas. Very pleased!

Fortunately I received a mail from Nationstar on refinancing so I went ahead and availed of their offer. They were pretty good. It took a little bit longer than I would think it should have taken, and I believe they dropped the ball a couple times (where I had to make some phone calls where they should have been making the phone calls), and this information kind of got a little bit touch and go, but in the end everything worked out. Ultimately we got what we wanted -- just less stress with the no credit card debt. It all ended up good in the end.

My prior mortgage company sold my mortgage to Nationstar. Then Nationstar called me about refinancing a number of times until I gave in and decided to refinance. It was all done pretty quick and they answered whatever questions I might have had.

Nationstar was very nice and easy to work with. They worked with me well because there were some extra added things that went on in the end of trying to close my loan, and they were really helpful in trying to get that resolved for me. All in all, everything went good.

When I first purchased my house my mortgage was with another company. Then it was sold to Nationstar. Nationstar then sent me a letter in the mail and it said that I can refinance at a lower interest rate. I did and now I save lots of money each month.

Based from my experience, Nationstar is a very good company. Back about 10 years ago, we had Bank of America. We didn't know anything about Nationstar until BoA transferred the loan over to them. We have other properties but we didn't owe much on that and the rate was a bit high. It wasn't that significant so we didn't bother with it. However Greenlight called me and offered to refinance the loan. It was a couple percent less than when we bought the place ten years ago. It's always been a comfortable setup as far as we're concerned financially. The rate wasn't that bad. So it's kind of nice that they came along and noticed that they could reduce the rate, and they did it. I'm very happy with them.

We all have had poor service with companies... However, it seems some companies, their people, and their internal processes allow for a much smoother way to address, handle, and resolve customer issues. Nationstar / Greenlight is 'POOR' and I would not recommend using them regardless of rate... They missed every mark along the way when handling my mortgage... Guess the good thing out of all of this is I am highly motivated to pay off my mortgage early so they make as little as possible from me!

We wanted to do some improvement to the home and just take an additional loan for the basement. We went through Nationstar and they recommended Greenlight Loans. The first lady I talked to was really awesome. The actual coordinator was okay though a little bit cold and wishy-washy in some cases. The refinancing definitely lowered the interest and payment. Everything got done but it just wasn't a pleasant experience throughout. Despite this, we are going to go through our refinancing if we want to do a 15-year. And anyway it paid off because right now we have a lower interest and a little bit of a lower payment.

Mostly a good experience. Everybody was helpful and knowledgeable. There was some difficulty reaching my closing agent because she was going through some training. There should have been someone to replace her. The interest rates were competitive.

I had my original mortgage a while back with Bank of America and they sold it to Nationstar. Since I wanted to get a lower interest rate, I decided to refinance and chose Nationstar (because for me to go to somebody else was going to create a lot more work). During the refinancing they were very timely and responsive. The instructions I received was very easy to follow and very simple to execute. It was almost checklist-oriented. The whole process was so easy compared to others it was almost flabbergasting.

I had a mortgage with Nationstar and I went to refinance it. I wanted to reduce my mortgage payments, so I could do it in retirement. They were very professional and they seemed to be very concerned about making sure that we were aware of the process, cause I kept getting emails and calls when the process went forward. And when I had questions, they answered them right away so I was really pleased. My mortgage payments are reduced and I’m thinking about trying to get on the twice a month payment plan.

We just refinanced with Greenlight in December. Their customer service was Amazing! We were really treated like we mattered and all of our questions were answered extremely quickly within hours of a voice message or email. We were provided with many options to fit our needs and with very competitive prices. I look forward to dealing with them again! Very happy customers. :)

I refinanced with Nationstar to lock in since my first loan was an ARM. The gal that came to do all the paperwork was a nice lady and I appreciate her being on time. Everybody was nice to work with, explained everything that was going on and got me in the loop. They explained what different options were available and I wanted it to be straight, conventional, just to get rid of the ARM. They went through all the details and what that would look like so that I would understand what all my options were. Now I don’t have to worry about an adjustable ARM anymore and what the interest rates are going to do.

I was very skeptical at first when Nationstar contacted me to refinance my mortgage. But I have to say that I couldn't be more pleased. Bottom line... great customer service, and in slightly over a month, they reduced my interest rate and my monthly payment by about $250 per month, which means a lot for my family. The process was professional throughout. I now am a fan of Nationstar.
