I thought being a Nationstar customer a long time with my mortgage loan with this bank would make the process a lot easier. Instead, it turned out to be a nightmare - all the way. I had to repeatedly call, email to push the process along and always was given excuses and took almost 4 months to complete my refinancing! Closing and disbursement of funds e.g. taxes, etc., turned out to be another bad dream. We, not Nationstar, called the closing company to find out where funds went at the last minute and were rushing to get our county taxes paid. They were a big help - Nationstar. Your bank should have done all this. Not! All we heard were excuses over and over. Overall, I wish we had gone to some other institution for our loan - refi. Sure would have received different results and pleasant experience all done in timely manner. Oh well. We all learn don't we? Sad to say this but truth hurts. So be it.

This is a very disorganized company. It took three times signing papers before they got it right. I never did receive a copy of the final papers. Never got a copy of the appraisal which I requested. Voicemails are seldom returned. No response since the the loan was finalized. I should be supplied with a copy of the final papers including the appraisal. At this point I would discourage anyone from working with your company. I would appreciate a response to this.

My refinancing took way too long (5 months) and I was not Informed about the status of the process on a regular basis. I had to get in touch with my agents which it was very and I say again very hard to get ahold of them since they rarely answered the phone to get an update about my case. Once I got ahold of them they were courteous and helpful but it seems they were overwhelmed with too much work that they struggle to handle therefore the customer-agent relationship suffers in efficiency. Email contact was a little better but not by much. They kept delaying the closing date for months for one reason or another and I was told It was due to their process of being bought by another company and that they had to work with the out of state underwriters located in Texas.
I live in California. The signing of the closing papers had to be done twice because the money amounts of the first signing were done wrong and luckily I found out on time. Finally after months of stress and uncertainty the refinancing took place and the deal was closed and I felt a great relief to get my normal everyday life back. I am giving you 3 stars because the agents were nice and helpful to whatever extent they could since I was told repeatedly there was not much they could do, that It was out of their hands, so I kept wondering who's hands were responsible of handling my case. That was the big question that kept popping out.

Nationstar's mortgage professionals were beyond excellent during my refinancing process. The person that I talked to promised me I wouldn't have to send in a blood sample and a hair sample to get my house refinanced and he was right. It was awesome. They also gave me excellent guidance on my options. They lowered my interest rate - that's all I wanted, so that I can get my house paid off. They also work fast - they called me and a month later, I was signing papers and it was good to go. I had to fax them like one paper. They verified my job, set up a date, and we met with a guy. We signed the papers and that was that. It was making me wonder if I was getting scammed a little but no since they have my mortgage already.

Then after the process of getting the final pages signed, a $542.75 was taken from my bank account and overdrawn my account and a fee to me was $35. Even though everybody was very polite, I would never use Nationstar again, nor would I ever recommend them to anybody. They took well over several months to complete my refinancing. Most of the problems were because of inefficiency in their company. One hand did not know what the other hand was doing. I would receive emails asking for documents when I had already sent many day earlier. This repetitiveness would occur for several weeks. Then once they set up notary, notary called me the day that I was to sign and said "sorry we never received the documents from Nationstar so we can't sign". Very upsetting since I gave up many wasted hours just waiting for the notary. This happened several times.
Then when I signed, I called them up several days later to see what the status was, and they told me that they had to do it all over again because they, Nationstar, got the documents in too late to be valid. All of this involves an unbelievable amount of telephone calls and hours on the phone trying to get Nationstar to get their act together. I would never recommend Nationstar to anybody because of the inefficiency that exists in the company.

The initial contact person was great, but the person who was assigned to facilitate the loan process left much to be desired. After providing all of the necessary documents, she did not act in a timely manner and we had to redo the rate lock agreement. In addition, she claimed that the extra documents that we had to submit were at the request of the underwriters and that they required a copy of our marriage certificate, which we found to be ridiculous. We have been through several refinances on both coasts and never have we been asked to provide a marriage certificate.
After letting her know that it was against the law to discriminate based on marital status and that we would not provide the information, she decided (apparently on her own) to put a waiver in our file, indicating that the marriage certificate would not be included. She made this call it seems, not the underwriters, which begs the question: Who really wanted the certificate, and why? She also said that she needed a copy of our tax return directly from the IRS; again, every other refinance (and the original mortgage) needed only a copy from us of our latest federal return; after all, all of our current financial information had been submitted to Nationstar. We chose to refinance with Nationstar because Nationstar held our current mortgage and we thought (mistakenly) that it would be simpler. My husband and I have extremely high credit scores and can get a loan from any mortgage company or bank.
Please note that had she/the underwriters refused us the loan because we didn't provide our marriage certificate, we would have taken Nationstar to court based on the fact that it is illegal to discriminate based on marital status. It may be that this woman was not supervised correctly (although I doubt this, because we received an apology from her supervisor for the loan facilitator's failing to submit the loan package on time, thus requiring another rate lock. Perhaps Nationstar needs to improve its training or employment requirements for employees in her position.

They asked for stuff that had nothing to do with a refinance, like my divorce decree from 1987... Yes I did say 1987 and closing statements on property that I had sold over 5 years prior. I went through 3 incompetent loan officers who had no idea how to put together a loan for a self-employed person with rental properties. Nationstar Mortgage does not deserve the star in its name!! Each time you call customer service, you are put on a long hold time - my experience - up to 44 minutes!! Like so many others, my mortgage was sold to this lousy company! Nationstar began collecting escrow funds for my P & I only account. After much battling with them and speaking with several people in different departments (since you're told, "that's not my dept, you need to speak with so and so..."). I finally got the problem resolved from them in writing indicating I only pay principal and interest.
Several months later, someone in their infinite wisdom, did an escrow analysis and slapped on escrow charges to my account again. I have been tormented and tortured by them with annoying phone calls seeking additional payment. Each time I return the phone call, the story given by the customer service rep never seems to be consistent. They sure do a good job of annoying a customer who pays on time! I pay my own taxes as it was from the time I took out this loan over 8 years ago. Now they have gone and paid my property taxes so the taxing authority has a double payment. What a mess they have created! Some kind of resolution is in sight but goodness knows when that will be. If your friend is offering to lend you money at 17% interest rate, take it! It's not worth the hassle dealing with this company!!

We're sorry to hear you've had an issue with the taxes for your property. We’d like to address your concern and make sure the issue is resolved asap. Our team is currently working to provide a resolution. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

I ended up with two loan officers on the West Coast (I am in Texas), Lori and Robert. During the time we were finalizing the loan details I ended up in the hospital for a week. And Lori had to scramble to re-date some documents that I signed. We sweated that for a bit, but everything worked out fine; I was able to skip a payment -- which was good because I had to pre-pay by two months my homeowner's insurance.
Still the refinance netted me an additional $177 a month which I generally have been putting back into my mortgage as additional principal-only payments. I wanted to be sure that I wrote this review here as I see quite a few negative and bashing reviews of NationStar. I suspect a number of those are from folks who are already behind the eight-ball with their loan so they are not on sure footing to begin with. That can never be a good thing. Nationstar called me and said they could give me a better rate which they did. It was over 3% less than what I had been paying. Mortgage professional were great. If I had questions I would call. They would take the time out to answer. They would email me the stuff that I needed to know so that way we didn’t have to write it all down. They send it all in to an email for me so that way I could print the emails off and have it there in print which was nice. They round out the rule first.
Nationstar has taken off about a $100 and $6070 a month of my house note and it went from a 30-year note to a 15-year note. The interest rate was 7.25 and they got it down to 4.125. It’s a financial blessing for me. I appreciate them looking over my original loan and realizing that they could do better and then contacting me and making that offer because I would not have known that. The closing cost, they went ahead and just put in the loan. I told myself, I can’t come up with $2500 for closing. They said, “No, we’ll just put that into your loan, to the blanks of your loan so it’s not like a big amount all at once. It’s just gonna spread out.” I have mentioned Nationstar to my brother and sister also. My sister’s loans are almost paid for but they also looked over the loan papers for me because they’re interested in them.

In February 2010, I was laid off from a job I had for 21 years. I managed to use my savings to pay the mortgage, taxes, and insurance until November 2010, when I had to make a decision between the mortgage and an extensive utility bill. Since I had kids in the house, I needed the electricity. I missed this one payment and was made to feel like crap by this mortgage company. In February 2012, I was able to catch up and remained on track with payments. I started a new job in another AC casino in May of 2012, only to be laid off again in March of 2013. Once again, I managed to make the payments using my savings. In July 2013, I had depleted all of my savings and had to make a choice between the mortgage or the property taxes. I decided avoiding a tax sale would be better and try to modify the current mortgage using one of the highly publicized government modification programs.
I contacted the Nationstar before my payment was late for that month. I was informed that I was not eligible for a refinance, but I could try the modification process. I immediately sent in all the required documents and waited for the quoted time for them to review the documents. I called back and was told that they were still waiting for documents. Once again, I submitted the requested paperwork and waited. The next time I called Nationstar, I was told that the modification could not be processed because my documents had expired. I spent another day getting the docs together and sent them in again. Guess what? A few months later, the same thing. They claimed they had not received some docs but yet the "missing docs" were sent in with the docs they had received. So without the docs, they determined I was not eligible for the HAMP program or the HARP program.
In January 2014, I was advised that I could look into selling the house or a short sale. I contacted a local realtor and was informed that the house would most likely be sold at $135,000 in its current market, which was less than what I owed on the house. Since Nationstar suggested the short sale, the realtor proceeded to send me the contracts to list the house. Nationstar sent out their own appraisers, who decided the house was worth $220,000 and refused the short sale option. Meanwhile, Nationstar added their own insurance on the house at $1,000 over what my insurance was and added it to the mortgage. They also claimed that I owed them an additional monthly fee for the cost of sending an evaluator to the house every month. It was only one month that someone left documentation that they were there, but they charged me added the fee for over 20 months.
In September of 2014, they offered a modification that was $600 a month over the original mortgage. If I couldn't pay the original mortgage, how could I pay this new rate? A few months later, they offered another modification the was about $50 less than the last modification - Still couldn't pay this amount. A couple months goes by and they lowered it by $275 a month. I can't afford this rate either, so I contact them regarding the rate and am told that I cannot put in for HARP or HAMP at this time but if I can make this payment for three months, they would look into the modification after that. I attempt to pay the money and am advised that they will not accept this payment, and they would only accept the full amount past due, which is over 20K.
I email the person who is supposed to be working with me on this account and he states that a modification can be attempted to halt the sheriff's sale that is scheduled for the first week in July. I explain that I was just told that the modification cannot be done. He tells me to hurry up and get the documents in within two days. I send him the docs that he asked for and wait. Two days goes by and he tells me that he only received application but did not receive my pay stubs. They were submitted together. This is the same story as the first time I asked for help. The house was listed sheriff's sale on July 2nd. They didn't tell me until June 25th. A lawyer who is trying to help me contacted Nationstar today and was told that the house was listed for sheriff's sale on June 6, which I was never told about.

I recently got approved for a modification with Nationstar mortgage. The 1st lady that I spoke to told me that I had to make 3 payments of $615. She also said I could pay the whole amount in one lump sum. So I made my first payment in May for $720 thinking that I would pay it off in June. So I get my May statement thanking me for the $615 payment. So I called to see where the other $100 went. The next lady then tells me that my $100 went into suspense and to not make any payment more than the normal payment. So I do that in June. Now comes July, the last payment of my trial payment. So I called to make that payment and the lady tells me my payment is $592 PLUS $19 dollars.
I make that payment thinking I’m about to get my refi paperwork. Only to be called by another rep saying that because I paid less than the $615 that the money I paid on the 7th of July went into suspense and in order to get credit for my last trial payment I would have to pay $615 again in July to complete my trial payment. Keep in mind that I have never done this before so when the lady told me to pay $592 plus $19 I did so. Now another lady told me to send the difference of $23 and this would complete my payment. So I went to MoneyGram and sent it.
So 4 hours later I called to see if they had received my $25 dollar payment. I was then told that the only way I would get credit for July payment was if I sent $615 more. This does not sound ethical to me. You know I paid you the money and because your rep told me a different amount to pay I’m being penalized! I hope and pray this gets resolved by someone who can see this is not the way you treat your clients!

Reece and our closing coordinator were both very pleasant to work with. This experience was much better than our first attempt to refi about a year prior. The only negative in the process was really not in either of their control. The underwriting process was very slow and often had nonsensical requests. In addition, the scheduling with the notary for close needs to be updated. There should be an online tool that allows the notary and the client to work out logistics well in advance.

My first experience with Nationstar left a bad taste in my mouth and they hit our credit. They were going to refinance our loan and that they drag it back for three or four months, never answered it, never got back to it. They checked our credit three or four times and that showed up on our credit reports. My wife didn't like that and it took a couple years for me to convince her to even let Nationstar try to fix it. So, the craziest experiences with them were not good.
However, they did a good job on my recent refinance deal with them. My rate was high and Nationstar called and offered me a refinanced deal on it. The first person I talked to asked us what our goals were and we wanted to keep the payment the same or a little less but the big thing for us was to not extend the term. We wanted the term to be no longer than what it was and preferably shorter and then get a lower rate and they were able to do that. A very easy manner, they've asked us to do an appraisal because they already had the property under loan. I kept them because the debt deck we were shown was 50-50 or something like that. It was only 450% of the value of the property or less than that, even so it was easy to do.
Since refinancing our loan through them, our monthly cash went down a little bit and then we shift two years off of the loan so. And it came at a time when I was changing employment. They still made that work by skipping the payment this month which was nice because I'm starting a new deal and to give me a chance to keep my commissions build up. We went through the financing pretty quickly. We saved up the payment for this month. Our payment went down to overall $180 a month. And we went from 22 years and somewhat months up to a 20-year term, so we saved two and a half years off.

We bought our home back in 2007 and the loan was sold to Nationstar. When we refinanced through them, it was very easy. They were pretty knowledgeable and explained the whole process to us. We talked about what we wanted payment wise and where we needed to be. After that, they mapped out several different options that we had. We chose one and we went through it. Nationstar went through the different steps of the process - what we needed to sign and how it was going to be laid out and then who was going to be contacting us about it.
We also like the fact that they had the underwriter, the person where you have to sign on the papers. They came out to the house. So we didn't have to go into any kind of office or anything like that. That was pretty helpful. And it took a whole month for a refinance to go through. So, it was a very very quick process. Then, since refinancing with Nationstar, we tried to keep the payment about the same but it did end up dropping in a hundred dollars and they were able to get us a lower interest rate. So, my husband was removed from the loan, which was the main purpose of the refinance.

And then when we got to the court reports, went into more issues, there were things that they took twice as long as they should have taken and it has nothing to do with anything I did. Hi. I must say I dreaded to go through the process of refinancing my house; even though it was at a lower rate - from 6% down to 3.875%. This was during a very busy time for me in preparation to gardening time - outside work, etc... Your persistence paid off. After the third overnight envelope you sent me, I made the call. This turned out to be a blessing because soon after my old car of 10 years died for good this time I had to buy another car. Since my credit is excellent, it took the pressure off as well as the dread of a doubting prospect.
I was confident I could do the loan for the car knowing the extra I was saving on the mortgage would instrumental in making this deal happen. There was a very small hiccup in the process. I was told in an e-mail to make out the check to a certain party only to be told it wasn't right. I had to reissue another. This made me a little nervous. Hadn't it been for that. I would have certainly given your outfit a perfect 5 stars. Thanks so much for being there for me even when I didn't know down the line I would need help.

My experience with Nationstar has been good so far. All of a sudden, my loan seems to have changed. I just did a refinance and I kept getting the stuff from another company. Interest rate was what led me to inquire about refinancing my old mortgage. I really didn't have much interaction with Nationstar's mortgage professionals during my refinancing. It seemed to all come from somewhere else.
I got a card from Nationstar saying I could lower my interest rate. So I called them and it's been a big, royal mess. The guy that came out here told me I needed to send a check to Nationstar, which I did. I got that check back, and they were saying it needed to be made out to something else. So I redid the check, voided the one I sent to Nationstar, and re-sent it. Then I got it back, and they were saying that Greenlight had taken care of it -- "your credit." So then, yesterday or the day before, I got a check from Nationstar for $250.
As for the guidance that I received when discussing my refinancing options, I thought I was doing good but it didn't turn out to be near what I thought. In fact, I was ready to cancel it. If I had gotten one more letter, I would have cancelled it. I haven't experienced any benefits yet since refinancing my loan with Nationstar. The payment hasn't come due. I really haven't dealt with them that much. I sent the payment in when I got the notice and a lot of times, it's late getting here -- my notice, my payment card. I don't get it till right at the end of the month, and I always have usually around 17 or 18. Sometimes it's too late to get it in on time but they never charge me for it.

I've owned my home for 6 years with Bank of America. Never had one problem until BOA decided to sell my loan to Nationstar. Immediately started off with problems. My first bill was more than double and they put on my credit report that I was 30 days past due. I called them and had a very snotty rep that said I didn't pay them last month. I replied that no I didn't because last month BOA still had my loan so I paid them. She replied they never got my payment so I need to call BOA. I replied that it's their mess up they should fix it. She threatened that if I do not fix their problem that I will be foreclosed. I filled her in that I am a licensed Real Estate Agent and I will sell this house before I start getting screwed over. She didn't care.
The next month bill was 400 over then the next month was 40 dollars over then the next month my insurance called and said they dropped me because of lack of payment. Which my loan is escrowed. So I had to pay AGAIN out of pocket to keep my Insurance going. I'd like to know who has my escrow check then and are my taxes going to get paid. Needless to say I already started a refinance with a different bank only after 3 months with crooked Nationstar. I also NEVER write reviews on anybody. When my loan was transferred from Cenlar to Nationstar, Cenlar had not posted the June payment. They sent the check to Nationstar via fed ex. It took about 3 weeks for Nationstar to locate this check. In the meantime, I was told the check was not there. But I will say they people at Nationstar worked very hard to find this check.
And unlike Cenlar, when I emailed document to their Research Department, they responded within 24 hours. It wasn't always what I wanted to hear but they did keep in touch. The only thing I don't like is talking to representatives in other countries. I would much rather deal with people in the United States.
However, true to their word, the payment was located and posted to my account. They are also not charging any late fees during the 2 month transition period which is great. I will have to say this mortgage company did work diligently to find this payment and it was posted to my account. I hope my future dealings with be as positive.
Original Review: July 10, 2015
On June 17th my home mortgage with Cenlar was transferred to Nationstar. I made an online payment to Cenlar on June 16th. This payment did not get posted because my loan was in transition. However, the payment was taken out of my bank and credited to Cenlar. Cenlar sent a check in the amount of the mortgage Fedex to Nationstar. The Fedex package was received June 19th. (I have tracking details and verification it was delivered in the Dallas office.) I have been on the phone with Cenlar and Nationstar for the past month. My June payment has not been posted. Nationstar claims they do not have the check. I have faxed documentation (4 times) showing my payment was made (one to the Research Department, once to another Manager in California and 2x to the Manager in the Philippines). The check was debited out of my checking account; I have had three conference calls between Cenlar and Nationstar.
On the first call The Nationstar CSR even suggested that the check was not in the package which then lead the Cenlar rep to request to speak to a Manager. We have spoken to this manager 2x. During the first time the CSR offered to send the Nationstar Manager a copy of the check; he said he didn't need it; all he needed was verification I had made the payment and it had indeed come out of my checking account (I faxed this to him). The Cenlar Rep and I made another conference call the next day. The Nationstar Manager claimed he did not have the fax. I have the fax transmission verification showing it was transmitted successfully. (My question is: why did this manager not call me back when he never received the fax. We had all exchanged contact information.) So I faxed this information to him again. Had to explain that I had NOT sent a check (which should have been evident on the information I sent him).
So now he needs the check from Nationstar which will take 3 days and we wasted 24 hours because of incompetency. When loans are transferred no reports can be made to the credit bureaus for 60 days. However, I have been trying to get this matter resolved for 3 weeks. By the time the Manager at Nationstar gets the check and expedites it to the Research Department (which I am not all confident he will do). It will have been a month. I will only have 4 weeks left before no negative reports are sent to the credit bureaus. What do I do? I do not have the money to make up this payment they claim they do not have. I'm not supposed to be charged late fees during this 2 months but I have. When I make the July payment it will be credited to the June payment; when I make the August payment it will be credited for the July payment and a missed payment will be forwarded to the Credit Bureaus.
Documents 1 and 2 were faxed to the Manager at Nationstar 2x and the Research Department once and another Manager in California once who offered to help. Mr. ** (Nationstar Manager), commented we were going around in circles. At which I replied, "Yes sir you are right and it's because of your company's incompetence and the fact they don't know what they are doing". How do I, as a consumer, and mortgage client, with all documentation verifying payment and Fedex verification they have received this check, get my account straightened out? As an FYI, the CSR at Cenlar commented they are getting lots of calls from their former mortgage loan holders with the same problem I am experiencing. This issue needs to be investigated. Where is that money?

We'd be glad to help with the issue you've experienced, but we'll need additional info to locate your account. Please reply with the account holder's full name and property zip code so we can help. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

We got a letter from Nationstar Mortgage suggesting that we might be able to save some money by refinancing, and so that was probably the spark that had me reach out to them. During my refinancing, Nationstar's mortgage professionals were very informative, very helpful, and courteous. It was a very positive experience. The guidance that I received when discussing my refinancing options was very helpful. I wanted to compare with another company to see if I could get a better deal someplace else, obviously shopping around, and I did that. Jack was a little impatient with me because of the timing. He wanted to lock me in, and I appreciate that. He was encouraging me to move more quickly than I was necessarily prepared to do. But I probably needed that prodding so it was okay. It didn't offend me.
We had paid the mortgage down greatly since we had the initial loan. My going into it was not only to save on the interest rate but also to reduce the monthly premium payment. I'm retiring, and I needed that positive cash flow because it's a rental property. One thing that just came to light today that's on the negative side: The young lady that came out to the notary was very helpful. I wanted to refinance my old mortgage before the interest rates went back up because I had a 6.1% interest rate on the original mortgage of the house. And with the interest rates being as low as it were, I inquired from Bank of America. Patrick ** did an outstanding job for me. He helped me work it through the underwriters. Unfortunately, during the time they had been in the underwriters, my wife passed away. Patrick took it out and told me what I had to do and we walked through it. And finally everything was taken care of and we were able to go ahead and refinance. They did an exceptional job, and were able to work through extenuating circumstances with me really good. My interaction with Nationstar's mortgage professionals during my refinancing was confusing. I had three after initial contact that went well, and then they sent someone out to contact me because while I was already thinking about it and literally had the paperwork at my hands, they called proactively. So I ultimately responded. We started the process, and they said someone else would call within an hour and send an email. That happened, and then two additional people did the same thing throughout the day. As a result of that, they got different information. The closing papers were wrong and we had to reschedule. So the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, times three.
Since refinancing my loan with Nationstar, the interest rate was lowered and from a 30-year fixed in the previous loan, it went to 15. So it didn't lower my payment but it did lower my interest rate and reduced my pay-off time, which was the point of it. However, I would recommend people not deal with Nationstar. They made mistakes in the underwriting that delayed the process, and then they wanted me to pay thousands of dollars more for them to correct their mistakes -- like $5,000 more. This wasn't trivial. The first time they did it, I pulled out of the deal and just let it go away. I won't be treated this way.
The only reason they got a second chance is they already owned the note and it was streamlined. I didn't have to do a lot of paperwork because they had everything they needed. Otherwise, I would have never given them the time of day. Then they tried to do it again and I ended up going to a manager and saying, "You do this again and I don't only get this deal off, I'm going to the Arizona Corporation Commission." Then they backed down. Because they didn't have my name right and my wife's name right on the paperwork -- that was an internal conflict. They had to redo it all and they wanted to charge me $2,800 for them to do so.

We're sorry to hear about the miscommunication you experienced. We’d like to address any remaining concerns you may have regarding the refinance process. A member of our team will follow up privately to further assist. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

I took out a loan with Loan Depot and immediately it was sold to Nationstar. I had trouble with them from the start with not crediting a payment that had been made to Loan Depot. But after months of aggravation they finally credited my account and returned the interest. Things have been going ok for the last several months or at least until I went to sell a parcel of land adjoining the property that has the mortgage. After the contract was signed to sell, the buyer found a security lien against the parcel. To make a long story short, the security deed that was filed was for the incorrect parcel. The Exhibit A that was filed was incorrect (BTW - the exhibit it has no initials on it or any type of notation that we agreed to the description).
I have been trying for weeks to get it straighten out and just received an email from Nationstar stating that they are BEGINNING an investigation and they will reply within 30 days. The error could have originated with Loan Depot since they were the original lender but I can say that they have been very responsive in trying to straighten it out. The end result is my buyer has walked and I am left with no recourse other than to warn people away from Nationstar. They really have non-existent customer service. I somehow think they would attach some urgency to the matter if I were to default on my note and leave them with 5.8 acres of vacant land rather than the house and 10 acres the lien should be against. My advice is to stay away - very far away from this company.

BoA then sold our loan to this company and now we keep getting notices to pay or the foreclosure process would start, all because we are paying THE SAME WAY we did when we went through BoA. We were told that IN NO WAY was Nationstar allowed to change any part of our original loan terms, which includes payment dates and payment plans. Come to find out, they want us to call a 3rd party to set up partial payments. No, thanks. The less people that have my account information, the more comfortable I am.
It is not feasible for me, being Active Duty and deployed often (and with no access to phones or internet), to CALL someone to pay my mortgage, when I can do it online, as I have been, without issue for 4 years. Stop sending me foreclosure notices, I have never been late paying you. And stop trying to get me to pay YOUR way, when my terms clearly outline the way I set up payments, and that, NOT ONCE have I paid late. Screenshot is from today. She gave me an answer without hesitations to anything I asked. Everything was initiated over the phone or online. I was able to work with them personally during the physical closing of the mortgage where they sent someone to my place of business. We inquired about refinancing because we wanted to do a cashout to do some home improvements, energy upgrades, etc. We've looked into a couple of providers and were hoping that the process would be easier since Nationstar already had our loan and knew that our payment history was good. We still had to do all the paperwork and send appraisal and everything but the interest rate was good, so we just kept it.
Their professionals were informative. When we didn't understand something, they explained it well and gave us a good faith estimate and then it ended up being what they said, and I didn't have any complaints. The first guy we talked to ran a couple of different numbers to see what the difference in payment would be and then gave us the information for how if we paid what we're used to paying compared to what we would have to pay now. We could pay it off in seven years instead of ten. It was good. He gave us all the information we needed. It's a better interest rate, so it lowered our monthly payment and got us the cashout that we wanted.

With only a few hours before my account was considered past due, my wife paid over the phone with an additional $19 convenience fee for phone payment. Now we have to hire an attorney to resolve this problem and receive the deed to our paid in full to us anyway property.

I've been very satisfied with Nationstar. Everything that they said would be available to us and how the process would go was as we were told and there were no unpleasant surprises, which is a good thing.

Nationstar bought my previous loan. They answered phone calls right away and they got everything well done. We closed within three weeks of the time that we started, so things went pretty fast and smooth. However, I just today learned that they ended up short-paying my property tax on my mortgage. It was a positive experience up until today.

Sorry to hear about the hiccup at the end of your refinance! We're reviewing the account now in regards to the escrow and will send a reslution to you via email within 5-7 business days. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

I have to say everyone I dealt with was very nice and professional. The only problem was it took a little long to go thru the process of getting the approvals. Overall I am satisfied.

The online refi process was easy enough, but I had to redo the paperwork way too many times, which resulted in over 6 months in ongoing delays before it got done. The people I interacted with were great, online and at the closing. I would recommend doing it this way, but would suggest the process, at least in my case, took way too long.

I have been with Nationstar since I refinanced with them in approx. 2001. I have been so dissatisfied the whole time. It takes forever to get a live person on the phone, they don't give a prompt for CS. I got a recent letter from them concerning a review of a loan modification pointing out a clause in the agreement of waiver of rights. Is this concerning one of the several lawsuits people have had with Nationstar notifying me I have no rights per condition of the lawsuit? Please advise as I don't understand.

We'd be glad to help you better understand the letter you received. Please reply privatelty with the account holder's full name and property zipcode so we can locate the letter and further assist. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

I had frustrating issues with Nationstar. My refinancing was already underway with Nationstar when they acquired my loan from my previous lender under the current terms instead of the newly offered refinance terms. This caused great confusion among all the departments I tried communicating with & seemed to slow down refinancing process. My calls were frequently passed from one department to another with no satisfactory results. Also, I was very angry to find out that Nationstar charges excessively high fees for making either a phone payment or an online payment. This was not revealed to me at any time during the refinance process. A customer should not have to pay a company just to be able to pay their bill!

For the last 2 years Nationstar has billed me for insurance to secure their loan. The property is fully insured by Farmer's Insurance. 3 times in the last few weeks Farmer's Agents have faxed and written to Nationstar. Last year, for months I attempted to rectify this, until finally I spoke to someone in India who said that the property is a condo and therefore a new "code" needed to be entered into a system and all is fixed. But this year it's the same deal. They buy insurance, send me a bill which is simply a fraud. The last helpful person from India gave me the direct phone number... which turned out to be an opportunity to win a Caribbean vacation. Obviously, I'm fed up with Nationstar!

Everything went fine with Nationstar. I was pleased with the service and it went along smoothly (‘cause I’ve had in the past when refinances a lot of this and a lot of that). I have recommended them already.

Nationstar bought our loan from Bank of America. Refinancing with them made us enjoy the benefits of getting a shorter term and a lower interest rate. Their mortgage professionals were also great. We didn't have any problems. Any question we had, they answered.

It was a seamless refinancing experience with Nationstar. They were able to lower my rate. Although I think they just need to be a little more clear in their communication of who you're gonna be dealing with on the mortgage of your house. I got a cold call from somebody I was supposed to be dealing with, but had no knowledge of it because nobody told me about it.

I really appreciated the fact that the appraisers and closing agents came to my home at a time that was convenient for me. I did not like the fact that I had to fax some of the same documents over and over and over and over again! All of the contractors that assisted in this process were very knowledgeable, competent, and professional. Kudos to you for screening and providing this level of professionalism and service! Again, my only complaint is that I had to provide the same information multiple times. At this point I am happy with NationStar Mortgage company. However, I would like a telephone contact number that I could speak to a real person when the need arises. The prompts on the phone do not offer this service. Please consider correcting this issue.

The entire refinancing process was truly a mess. There were constant delays and mistakes in the paperwork resulting in several changes to loan documents. My dissatisfaction continues as our Escrow/impound account was never properly connected to our loan, which meant the insurance was not paid and almost resulted in the property not having insurance. I am still not certain this has been handled. I would not refinance with Nationstar again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

We'd like to apologize for the difficulties you've experienced during the refinance process. Our team's currently reviewing the account to provide a response via email regarding the issues within 5-7 business days. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

I paid for the subordination fee in the amount of $250. To BofA, and your Company charged it to the refinance fees. I have tried calling ** and left many messages and still have not heard back. On his recording he gives his supervisor's name and number, but is no good.

We've reached out to the representative you've been attempting to contact regarding the subordination and you should receive a follow up call from them within 24hrs. Thanks! -Nationstar Customer Relations Team
